"Kate saw ooh youtube business such got brief in time and now they're talking about up like eight so that's the thing that's happening but I wanted to give some follow out to you have a shelter. I do her in real life. I'm remastered which a host of Federick of the tea and she had to come out and we did a deep dive into allocate kind of what we think think about the games that have been announced some thoughts on some of the developers that have been announced to be involved and then also as we usually do re must've which is what makes a show. I think a little bit unique because he had worked for playstation for so long and basically worked on projects exactly like this for playstation. He brings his industry knowledge talking about this stuff as to why a company might want to go into a deal like this. If and kind of like talking about does he actually. I think that it will be effective over over the developers as remastered episode eighty. If you want to listen to that then you can yeah. It's look we will probably be getting since this was a noon eastern embargo. It would not surprise me if we're about to have the role rolling embargo the festival this week where there's a new embargo drop at nine. Am every day this week. Leading up to the phone releases watch allies phone eleven. Ben iphone eleven pro. Oh Oh that's that will be boggles. I'm sure so that's going to be a whole thing like entertainment. Weekly had a big like data. "The second thing I've noticed in my career is I find myself rooting more for individuals over teams. I just wanna see what's best for violent because I'm very lucky. I grew up in an era that outside of sandy Colfax, I go to open the perfect era. I didn't see so sandy Koufax pitch and there's not a lot of video of him. His career was really short out. Outside of that. I've seen everybody. I got Bo Jackson. I got wilt. I got Jerry West. I got everybody. I got Mark Federick. I got Reggie Jackson. I get my trout. I get Bryce Harper. You know, the only great player that I really wish I could have seen a sandy Colfax, who was so good. I mean there's an old joke in baseball. You talk about all these great pitchers. Bob Gibson all these pictures and you ask, great headers, and they're like, yeah, you could hit his curve, or you could. And you ask right. Hitters about sandy Colfax. They're like, oh, you nobody could hit sandy Koufax like nobody could hit sandy Colfax for three years. I was like a no hitter. Every time you went out cancer no hitter. I didn't see him. I've seen everybody else. So the teams the owners don't care, but the stars I wanna see I wanna see tiger flourish, I'm bummed out on his life Kerr tailed. I'm crying when he's winning at the masters I felt bad for his eye on because I thought I thought New York was magic and I've seen star, go to the pelicans this, I'm not a saints fan. I'm a breeze fan, by the way, if Tom Brady retired tomorrow, I couldn't give a rip about the patriots. I didn't care about him with Tony Easson. See rogan. I'm a Brady fan. I don't care what the Lakers I like watching LeBron win over the Lakers. So I felt bad for Zion. How good for the NBA bad for the NBA..

"Because it gives you whatever more full featured keyboard? But I don't think by any means you have to go to something like this. I think the smart keyboard? Board can take care of almost anyone's needs. But if you want a little bit more, it's a it's a nice option. Yeah. I'm the same. I think this marquee board is fine. I've been using one. Like, I said, I'm both devices. I don't have any problem typing on it. I kind of like the fact that it's so protected as opposed to you know, all the problems with the macbook keyboards, the smart keyboard is exact opposite. You could probably, you know, spill a glass of fruit punch on the thing and wipe it off. So keep us all covered up by that fabric. And yeah, it's nice. And it is because it's just attached with magnets. Unlike something like the bridge or Logitech offer several way the ipad sorta like clips into it. Somehow you can just like get rid of the smart keyboard in just a second. And just have like the naked ipad really quickly, and that's nice too. 'cause sometimes you just want to sit back with just the ipad and have the keyboard on your nightstand or something so if you wanna use that like back and forth, then this marquee board comes out. Ahead for me. And I do that all the time someone who likes the pencil. I am constantly taking the ipad off of the keyboard. Just using the ipad without any case on it and a pencil. So. Got to decide what works for you. I did order a bridge because everybody keeps talking about it. So I'm going to give a try. So I guess we'll talk about that whenever they start shipping. Yeah. I'd love to hear your impressions. If a know like Jason Snell Federick t might curly. They've all used them in the past. "To Kevin and being on the world famous K. Oh, shoot. Then ask Gordon safely up. You know? Oh. Look, look, look, I got problems already. We saw three. Yeah. We live in a divided divided nation. For number of reasons, we fight about politics. We fight about guns and fight about rights. Choose. We fight about religion. Did I say religion? Yeah. We we fight about a lot of things. And now, we're fighting about chips. And I think we need to understand that people. Do have different opinions doesn't make them bad. People doesn't make them un-american. Bad isn't disgusting? They are disgusting. It's okay. It's okay. To have a different opinion on this topic. I think Jetson I'm I'm not as mad at being right now as if he picked one other one. But the nation seems to like that chip. Well, the nation's wrong laid out for us. All right. It started with whom on Twitter on Twitter, a comedian named Kevin Federick posted a video of himself and two other comedians to hear more and Tony Baker. They look to be backstage at a at a show, and you know, those variety packs of chips that you can get like a Costco, or I guess even in a market, but it's all one company's chips. They're smaller individual sized. This was the lays variety pack. That's what it's like four bags each little bags of a bunch of their different product. That's right. And they posted a video online of them ranking them and listened just to the emotions that are let loose by just trying to put them in order. All households. Everything.

"Love it. Trust me on this one A. Thanks to Luna display for this of this show and all of relief him. All right. So let's let's talk about podcasting on us is oh is this an intervention, Mike? Are you intervening against me? No, no. I'm not. But I do want to kind of stay state Mike case on this little thing because you wrote an article a few weeks ago on six colors about your current setup for podcasting with an ipad pro which got Federico pretty excited and Federick teaches now kind of bolt some of this that he could replicate himself for for various reasons Federico mostly because he spends some time in the summit at a different location to his home. Right. And would prefer not to have to take back with him. So he's been doing some he's been to in some experiments as well, which is boy him kind of to the to similar place that you have and use. Because basically he's using what you didn't tell him to do. But as you would telling him to do. In in the post. So I wanna get to this a little bit. But before we get to kinda my feelings on this. I wanna talk about your approach. So kind of couple of things why do you do this under what circumstances you do this? And what are you using right now to make putting on Iowa's woke view? So here the goal is the goal is. Okay. I'm going to see my mom, and then I'm going to LA on the strip for about a week. And I've gotta do pike Cass while. I'm gone got like three podcasts at least that I have to do. And I'm thinking can I do this with just want? I because normally I would just travel with my dad, but there's this question like can I do this with just my ipad? Or do. I need to bring my MAC book air, which I was kind of result to just bring my backward air along and literally only use it to record podcasts because I'm going to bring my ipad along I'm gonna use it because that's my primary thing and I owed even right on it. Because it's the nice cream. I've got a keyboard. It's fine. But I thought I need to bring my old Medicare with me just for the podcast stuff because it's gotta hijack. And it's got, you know, call recorder and all of those things on it. And I thought okay. Can I figure out a way to do this without that because that would be I would need to bring the the laptop it is shaped like laptop? It's gotta fit in a bag. I gotta take it out at security do all these things. And my question was like is there something I can do that will not require me to bring all sorts of you know, extra hardware at which point. I should just bring the laptop and I managed to get it to work and what I did was add one box. I brought my USB interface that I use to record. Which ways, you know, less than a pound. And that's it like brought one extra block, and is inherently easier to pack than laptop is. Yes. Yeah. Because it's a it's a it's not quite acute. But it is a little retender thing. It's it's easy to pack. Throw it in a bag or carry on or whatever and it's powered by USB plug. So I don't have to bring my macbook air is an older ones. So I have to bring its mex- power adapter because that's how it only way charges. Also throw out there that my my my daughter travels with a laptop, and my my, but my mom doesn't have a laptop anymore. She just has an ipad. So I don't even have that like emergency safety net that I sometimes do when I travel was like, well, at least there's a Mak around if I need it. Nope. Not going to be a MAC around when I'm in the desert. There's no max. So the desert of Macs. Just no no max into dozen..

"But thankfully, you can see all of the versions of a of a file in working copy can pick them up, and you can restore them. And of course, everything versions, and you can actually what I do you can drag an individual version at a working copy. And it becomes a file. And so if you use something like kaleidoscope, for example, which is a diff-. Comparison tool for our US. What I do is I pick up to versions from working, and I compared the changes, and I can see the individual words that are changed between versions. It's very cool. So I mean, apple should do this stuff on its own inside of files. I think it's incredible. That files doesn't have a versions feature built in doesn't have any way to recover deleted files. For example, doesn't have a way to let you see multiple versions of the same item these feature as we will MAC OS since I dunno Blair word snow effort. Maybe remember when it came out so working copy ski hobby markdown, if you if you're a programmer, of course in you wanna use and you wanna work for my US. This is super super highly recommended if you're you know, I use working copy maybe not for its intended use case as a writer who needs to collaborate with a with two editors US, but it works really well for us. Us and it's been working well for us since two thousand sixteen so really recommended. Yeah. It's not the intended use. I do see how get help could be used quite easily for this. Exact right. Like multiple people collaborating not in real time. But like a synchronous later. It's great, right? Like, it makes sense Federick. A you adopted me into the system when I've wrought my history column Domecq stories, but a year and a half ago whenever and it's really it's it makes so much sense. The way that you guys do this. And you know, I for a long time just did it on the MAC. And then it's like, oh, I'll get back to my MAC and push to get hub. But you know, I finally downloaded working copy like three or four months ago and started using that as well. And it really is powerful to have all of that kind of just on your device you have with you all the time. It's it's pretty sweet. And even new ipad pro Powell, a Casey list is a fan of low, man. That's that's settled then. So you know, it is the you gotta try. Casey lists the I've had. Eight so much. I enjoying watching him go through this. 'cause I just can taunt him. Now. Right. It's like watching you're watching your kids making the same as well. But it's more that like he was so so like set in his ways right about the ipad for so long. "I mean, they treated their players just unbelievably they kept Willie around. And of course, he was so revered and such a great, you know, for the for the game of baseball. He was just a great humanitarian great everything about it. But it's a sad day. And, you know, unfortunately, you know, we start to lose them, you know, as as we go. Well, it's nice that you thought of him in wanted to pay tribute because at the age of eighty you know, how many are going to be you know, willing to do that and have where around to see him play. So I appreciate you remember. Yeah. Thanks. Thank you, John. That's Johnny bench. So McCovey passes away. Six time all star of I just remember guys talked about that you would be at first base. Even guys who would be on first base when Willie McCovey came to the plate like they were in fear because they were just worried that you just couldn't get out of the way, I think he made the last out of the World Series. And I think it was Bobby Richardson with the Yankees if that's right. And they were worried that it was he hit a line drive. I believe and they were worried that Richardson was going like he was a second baseman never gonna it was gonna take him into the outfield like he'd just hit this rocket. Yup. Only when you were a kid who is the most famous baseball player, not necessarily the best. But. The biggest star in all of baseball. When you were maybe twelve thirteen just in star power. Ability. I don't know if you looked at it as. I don't know if they had it like that back. No the first real star. I remember as Mark Federick with the Tigers. Like, he was he was on the cover of time magazine. It was marked Federick and big bird from Sesame Street because that was his nickname. I mean, we knew about the Mets and Tom Seaver Roberto Clemente Hank Aaron Willie Mays Mickey Mantle at the end of his career. But in the big red machine was was the star. But as far as I who was big, you know, across all platforms in baseball. Reggie Jackson was probably the dude, you know, because reg had the uniform he had that swing that all star game where he would hit it out of tiger stadium. Like, he hit it off the light pole. And he just looked great those uniform white shoes knows as uniforms. They were they were bad as. Yeah. Fritzy? And then I remember the Reggie candy bar commercials. And then the VHS Reggie vision. Panasonic VCR tape was different when he got to the Yankees. I mean, he was already established as a big star. And then you go to the Yankees you win the World Series his feud with Billy Martin the three home run game. It was you know, mean New York makes you a star. You may not be a full star full-fledged star. But New York can make you a lot bigger than what you are here in Oakland. You know, he became became a big deal. Yeah. Mclovin. Willie McCovey said the hardest ball he ever hit game seven nine hundred sixty two World Series caught by Bobby Richardson. Yeah. I'd never heard the story. Apparently, it's a huge urban legend one of the hardest balls ever. Yeah. And Bobby Richardson, not a big guy, and they were worried that you know, it was going to kill him. They lost the film of a pair. They you can't see it clearly in MLB footage. I was supposed to be a real turn. Point. Yeah. It was nice to Johnny bench called him. Yeah. Has to be strange though. You know, I mean McCovey was not in good health, but dying at the age of eighty you look at what the giants had though..

"That's just playing out in the context of of high level dialogue internationally with North Korea with China. However, China in the US relationship. We have seen this had had some knock on a fact on the discussions in the past in in the US China, broader trade conversation. However, at the moment, I think it would really in the mind of Washington represent quite a change where or highlighted change from twenty seventeen where the US felt that it had managed to sufficiently pressure China to do more on North Korea, sanctions implementation. The fact that China's now also calling for those to be lifted. As part of this dialogue and and for those sanctions to be reevaluated I think was the quote really speaks to how much of a one eighty China has has done since the 2017 period a president moon Jae-in of South Korea's currently holding talks with European leaders. Do you think that the Europe is likely to change its stance on sanctions? I don't think so. We've heard Federick Moga ni a few times reiterate the US position, which is actually quite hard line. The US has repeatedly wheeled out as talking point that no sanctions whatsoever should be lifted until North Korea completely denuclearize, which is also not a stance. That's great. "Thanks to ERO for the support of this show and relax him. So we may predictions and now we have two great ourselves Federick. Let's start with you because I think you went, I last time you said to new ipad pros that was wrong, redesigned redesigned. Smart keyboard, of course not. There's no bed. I work up dates, right? Was twelve. That was a disappointment. Well, you hoping for, I don't even remember that he wanted productivity ipad. It's what he wanted to. Yeah, can't wait to do some number sheets. You did get the next three? Correct. So you had cheaper phone is not called the iphone nine. You had new watch bands. You had series. Four has multiple changes to watch faces which beyond the leaked when we had seen in, you're correct on that as you can see these items that I got. Right. Are the most important ones. That's why I think this is about percentage. This is about this is about percentage, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, no, no, it's not about percentage. It's about the importance of no few. Got right. Yeah, no, no, this is none. You are you who's important to who? Who's important, too? Well, for example, let's take a look at Stephen. I don't know. I I said, let's go through. I said, no ipads, said iphone. An apple watch only got that. Correct. Said no max, got that. Correct. I said the names would be the Tennessee in the ten s so I got the name Tennessee wrong. I also got correct. The line would be the ten s the nine. So again, that name is wrong, but the phone is correct. Eight plus eight, seven plus seven s e so the line is mostly right. I got the ESI wrong and the names Again. again. Phones in that list? My friend that they don't sell any more? No, just the SE. That's it. Oh yeah, they do the sevens. All right. So that you got that pretty much right then I said the iphone nine would or Tennessee would come in colors. Again, the only details wrong is the name percentage wise, which is the only reasonable way to measure this. I am more correct than Federico, but even if you take his ridiculous way of scoring it by importants, I also come out ahead because the name is the least important detail, the colors more important, the lineups more important, what they didn't announce as more important. I'm just saying that four, four once the. Voting grading system based on the sort of the the idea of the electoral college would have been would have been successful. Let's not talk about that. Oh, what we can agree on is that Mike did MS Mike lost my Columbus. That's what. Terribly the loser. I am going to pick the winner. That is what. Steven, Steven one this, like I'm sorry, you're gonna. You're biased for Stephen. Why don't we want to console airpower predictions. Okay. Before that. When you talk about yours, you're not off the hook. All right, new ipads didn't get that. Didn't get new pencil keyboard. Nothing on the MAC. I mean, I say that was right. The fact that they set Mojave is coming out. That's nothing. Yeah, there is no substantial news on the MAC, so I'll I'll upgrade that from orange Tex document degreen. I got something I said that she probably won't be called the iphone nine. I said the only iphones to see on the fence we see on stage will be the three know about right, but that's like a sub point to the nine. I don't know why that's it. Doesn't matter. You got sub points. You've just you're right, you're right about that. I thought the lodge phone will be called to tennis plus because I thought the tennis max would be ridiculous name. I still think the tennis max is ridiculous. New foster face ide-. That's correct. It's nice. ID's new though. Nanya sensors. I don't care. Give myself Hoffa point. Come on this system is rigged, like you're scoring points based on what you like him, what you don't look. It doesn't matter. Just give me something. I still lose just Kimmy. And there wasn't some kind of unique case. They did do colors. It wasn't kinda unique case because like we can say, got three things, but they went three full things. You got more than me Federico. Right? Like it goes Stephen, you me, I accept this even though I was correct about Ebola as was I. So let's talk about this Federico to the air power ship between our last episode and the keynote..

Note, the episode is a link to Federick teachies introducing writing on the ipad text automation with editorial. Wow. So that's a real blast on the past. I have also put in the show notes. I did a video, but the iphone five C's if not familiar with that phone, go watch that video and opposed from my sight from five years ago, talking about how people got the iphone five c wrong, right. Well, yeah, I'm just looking up. Synonymous for the word by onic. One potential idea could be eight, twelve god-like. Eight extraordinary. That I'm now looking at synonyms for speed. What about. Twelve precipitation. Hundred percent show us an emphasis about eight, twelve Omni Omni potent. Got I got it. I'm just going to go with this because I have nothing else. Eight. Twelve momentum. Okay, kinda sporty. I like that. Yeah. All right. I don't think they're going to call it that, but it's the only half decent name I can come up with. Okay. I'm really annoyed at myself now because Kate just came up of great one, eight, twelve cannon, right. Called the cabinet. So I'm gonna put that as well. So if that's the name that gets that, right? Yep. Yep. Cates Cates the real. Let's be honest. Can you feel shoot onstage, say with all new, powerful, eight cannon, sippy. With blast down the competition with the cannon, right. That's right. Come on shore could do this. You're talking about predictions this year. We have made a lot of predictions too many, many categories are predictions, and I think it saves to say that we can probably assume that the majority of these predictions will be right that going to happen in two thousand eighteen that going to happen next week, right with what's left or the event that Federico doesn't. That's why I said the majority. So the majority of them will probably happen with in a week from now. So we should probably refresh everybody's mind on what we've predicted, and even then potentially show how predictions we just made clashed against the predictions that we made in January. So we're going to do that after we take a final break for today's show and thank Lynnette for this support winnowed you'll have access to a suite of powerful hosting options. They have prices. "There are still up and down, which is going to be when you play our defense every day. I think the floor is risen. The lows are in his bed. It is one to three bad plays compared to where there are times last year. I'll go for a whole day of having a bad practice, not really feeling good about it. I think we'll have a chance. He's the only starting quarterback that is not measured in how good he could be. It's how much bad can he avoid? I I know he tells you, he says, he's telling people he's Joe starring quarterback that talks like, I know that's what I. That's what I'm trying to drive home. The point. My point with the whole seventieth thing is again, there's about there's almost every quarterback in football if they were afforded the luxuries that Blake Bortles had pine on this team and every week is about managing Blake, so he doesn't screw everybody would have his numbers, but better in the team would be better. So he's been afforded this luxury because he was the third pick of the draft and they just don't want to end the game on it. But yes, I mean, all the signs and you're in the weeds like me, you can read between the lines, none of the players ever talk, never. I mean the rate in the locker room. He's a good guy. They didn't even model the new Utah wins. He didn't model the new uniform. Yeah. So I look at it like this though. I'm going to take a weird stance. Yeah, I think Blake Bortles has a good year, and the reason is that there are awesome. Well, that's one, but to all the stuff that I'm reading is he it's been pounded into head this off season. We're checking it down pal. We're gonna enjoy the check downs. You don't need to prove that you're number three. All of this is I'm going to avoid the bad. Yeah, he can be successful if he avoids the bat, right? But we look at it and go, how amazing could you be? If you had a quarterback that could embrace, they're not maximizing their teams are not? No, they're very hard way they're electing to win. They're electing to win a Super Bowl, like the two thousand ravens. They're going to go. We're just gonna make it thirteen to twelve, and we're gonna win. And that's, you know, you might be able to do it, and this team has down to do that, but that just takes one bad bounce of the football and you don't get it and you go down. We were really good. Why did we lose those five games. Here? Well, because every game was a field goal game in the NFL's crazy. Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. It's another year with a lot of pressure Leonard for net to really get that offense going, and it's gonna be a lot of pressure on that defense to score points. Yeah, and Nate Hackett poor Natick one last thing. This was a question from an Instagram or after this Josh Federick interview drew Brees. He texted me afterwards fendrick and said it was more proof as to why I am not doing what you do..

They're going to show a highlight reel for Matt Harvey. Thank you, Matt. Thank you, Matt, for all of the great years that you had here, which amounts to I think three right? Didn't he have three good years? Think is something along those lines, but there was Matt Harvey day for a lot of New York fans. Thank you for all three years here with the Mets. This is how hard up the Mets are for for nights of glory. Let's see how many nights he how many seasons he actually had that were respectable. Because he fell apart. He's actually re resurrect on his really well. He's resurrected his career bit with Cincinnati. It raises that question. Let's see. Wow. Okay. Yeah, he went. I got to two thousand twelve. He went three and intense starts when three and five of the two seventy three a first full season nine and five with a two twenty seventy RA that was two thousand thirteen next year. Thirteen and eight with two seventy one RA after that he was four in ten, five and seven, five seven and two thousand five. And that five and five in Cincinnati. Oh, right. That five and five isn't Cincinnati. He was, oh, in two with a seventy RA with the Mets this year. Now, does that warrant a highlight reel? I'm starting to get to the point where I think everybody should get a highly if I is it a participation have been Eyler NS comes back next year to LA. He should get a highlight reel a thank you Tyler 'cause statue game than anti plan. Our podcast, everybody gets a statue, but remember it was a gigantic deal. Matt. Harvey was a gigantic. I mean, it was a huge story. It reminded me a little bit of. It was a little bit like Jeremy Lin. Yes. And the Knicks. Yes, it was a little bit like back in the seventies Mark Federick the bird. I mean, there was like this moment where he was what seemed like he was going to be the next great pitcher in baseball, like the next great one, any of his personality..

"It's like the pros are like two to three times more expensive than the right than the than the in the MAC, but the maximum much smaller business. Yes. So it is not as knows Larry, so right. I want to compare this with the MAC because I had has stability and it's been stable for about year which and if you look at the lost year, I think what was seeing now is apple has finally found the stability in the ipad line because the pros doing really great and then they won't going to have pros come out in June. So they released the cheaper. I have the schools, etc. Which has kept the ipad line stable. So if they keep following along this route, the ipad line remain stable. The MAC is down probably because there were no new max in June, but that shows that that line that market that that that part of their business, they haven't got the stability, Ian, right? Because if the three twenty nine. I had didn't come out when it did, then the headline would be down because they didn't have any new pros. So the stability in the line is coming from having a good strategy. And I think if you look at the face of now, imagine many people disagree with me hardware strategy wise right now, the ipad is stronger than the MAC. Like where apple is kind of putting that with what they're releasing. The strategy seems like people in like ipad uses, not going crazy right now because of x. going wrong in the hardware, right? Like, yeah, maybe that happens is bending connected goes, but like just kind of like a hardware strategy perspective, what's being released is making people happy, and it's coming at the right time, and that is not happening for the MAC. Right? Like the macbook pros who met a bunch of problems again, what the heck is happening with the macbook air. What is happening with the MAC book? Why is it still the same? Why is it still so expensive? Why is the MAC mini wisdom. Pro like, okay, where's the new five k. I like all of the stuff doesn't seem to be on any kind of stable flow where the ipad, even though we only have like two years of of this happening seems to be on a stable flow. So I think they're a couple things don't pack here. I think the distinction you draw between the ipad Mak release cycles is an important one where the ipad now is a sort of a tick tock release where you have consumer, and then you have professional, then you have consumer and the demand swings based on age. But in the other products there to pick up the slack I think is what you're saying. I think that makes a lot of sense for the ipad. It explains what we're seeing. The McEvoy hand has never really had that sort of cadence to its release, and maybe they should look at that because it's working for the ipad. But I think there's really two things that have impacted the mentally. He said nothing new in June, the new, my pros were, I believe out of this quarter at the or at the very, very. I think I think they're the quarter, so we're not seeing these new MAC pros this or ended in June. Okay. Yeah. So we didn't see those those numbers in this report. The the lack of updates forget WBZ. But like the lack of bits of the MAC line in general clearly are taking a toll where you have people who would spend money on something like, I'm one of them Federick. One of them I'm ready to buy new. MAC mini Federick is rated by MAC mini, and there's not a product for us. I think there are people who probably holding off on maybe something like an I MAC or even a MAC book pro winning June update didn't happen. I don't know where the five k. is they, basically internally are macbook pros like, I don't know why those two devices aren't lease at the same time. They were last year. They have been for several years. Something's going on there. And then of course you have the biggest problem is, is the the consumer notebook. And let's people been talking about this at owner, retread all of it, but. Within you walk in a store and you buy had? I don't. My guess is my feeling is you probably know which I've had. You're gonna buy before you walk in?.

"Thousand fourteen hot, cast listeners please join me. In welcoming Federick Lor to the show welcome Frederick hey thank you very much for, having me this is really really exciting I'm naturally differential so I wanna call you Mr. Lord Dr Laura but can I call you Fred yeah yeah, absolutely, perfect excellent so excited. To speak with you because on this show we talked. So much about the human animal bond that's what we're all about here I'm Melissa we talk about heavy. Scientific issues like canine influenza but then we even touch on like wildly fun topics like. Dog fashion shows and stuff like that so the main thread in all the. Subjects that we talk About is that. Relationship between. Pets and humans your work in my opinion really, hits at the heart of that human animal bond and a very crystal clear way in a sort. Of a life saving way do you see it like that Oh yeah absolutely I mean. As you said in your introduction rabies has been around for for ages it's one of the most documented and also. Oldest known diseases to mankind and as such of course it has, influenced the bonds between people and dogs. Specially over time say the have those tools to get, rid of this disease for over one hundred years. Now since eighteen eighty. Five so, there's no reason why this fearful deceased should, still be around. And this is what we're all about we want to bring that trust. In the dogs back especially in this area. Where we still have rabies that's an, excellent point you know when. I think about the human animal bond I'll be honest I would love everyone to love pets just as much as I do love animals just as, much as, I do but, the reality is not everyone does and I totally understand that but what I really impressed to people is that the human animal bond. Reaches almost everybody whether you like Don't, like. At, that, human. Animal bond, our interaction our, relationship with animals, affects everyone whether or not you realize. It and so that's why I think what your work is so important. To talk about, because if, you're a pet lover an animal lover then your work is very. Salient and important and even if you don't feel like animals affect you your work shows that they do listen we're. Jumping right into the deep end already talking about amazing topics but, before we really get into it we. Have to do a portion of the show called set, the scene and set the scene is basically setting. The scene for other. Viewers out, there where you basically develop your love for, pets where you. Basically developed a relationship with animals maybe you didn't have a pet growing. Up maybe you established it later in life. But do us a favor and set the scene for when young. Fred was growing up where you grew up and what your first contact was with animals yeah yeah absolutely I mean. I grew up in a rural part of Germany place to the French border and by civil my parents left we, live next to, a farm so I was I was always. Surrounded by animals animals for always part of my life, now since I was about five years, old I knew I wanted to do something with medicine say over. The course of time that naturally came, together my love for animals growing up beheads pet rabbits Guinea pigs still have cats. Now have a dog site dot love of animals combined with my keen interest in medicine let's to the decision, to start studying sharing medicine in Munich wow. Wow what's your dog's name my dog's name. Is Megan she's oppressed cubic we got, two years ago from a shelter I love that I love it when I hear that dogs have basically human names you know does she have a middle. Name. As, well Ooh no we never know that's totally, fine I, I lost name she has a last name Double last name well then we'll use one of. Those names for middle. Name that sounds great making his that Megan is such a precious name. I absolutely love it you know when, I hear about the name mission rabies I love it I love the name because the purpose the. Focus of the charity is all in the name as a mission against the spread of rabies. I hope people don't look at. The, name, and interpret that. It's a mission. To, spread rabies I. Don't think anybody's thinking that So you know but what I've actually heard is app is just simply incredible your?.
