"Supreme court justice. Sandra day o'connor again. I'm quoting loosen up sandy baby. You're tight then. Promptly fell asleep on the floor on a personal note. I love john riggins he's smart. He's funny. He dances to his own steps. We'll i used to host a charity golf tournament in washington and riggins drove the beer card for us. Yeah this might be a terrible use of time machine. If i gain access to one tony but i want to go to that golf tournament and i want to go to dinner because apparently i was looking this up earlier. He didn't just fall asleep like on the floor. He fell asleep for forty five minutes and then snored through speech. I believe by president george bush. So a legend legend rigaud yes. Oh ringo's tremendous happy anniversary. Joel youngblood on this date. Thirty nine years ago. The utility man and career to sixty five hitter became the only player in major league. History to play for and get two hits. I get hits for two different teams in two different cities on the same day playing center field for the mets youngblood drove in two runs in a day game at wrigley then in mid game. He found out he'd been traded to the expos. Were playing that night in philadelphia youngblood. Left's really go to o'hare doubled back because he forgot his glove at the ballpark but made the six zero five flight to philadelphia that night at the vet young got a single from montreal. Young played fourteen seasons for five different teams. He was an all star once but he never did anything this historic and by the way. The pitchers young blood dot those hits off future hall of famers ferguson. Jenkins and steve carlton manzo. That guy. joel youngblood absolutely on the medal. Stand of young bloods alongside jack youngblood. Who played. I believe with a broken leg in the super bowl and even more impressively in the pro bowl in one thousand nine hundred and also that dean youngblood guy from that movie with rob lowe that came out when i was one year old. I think those are also and also jesse colin young and the young bloods great rock and roll group happy trails to the world record in the four hundred meter hurdles again the other day. It was the men's record today. It's the women's sydney mclaughlin edge delillah muhammad. Both americans broke the world record just as karston war home and ride benjamin had done on the same track the day before mclaughlin ran fifty one point forty six seconds breaking her own world record of fifty one point nine muhammad ran fifty one point fifty eight. You're the only woman to ever go under fifty two seconds he's two have been rivals and have been trading record and wins for two years now and they will race again in the world championships. Next july fem. Kabul of the netherlands finished third in fifty two point zero three which would have set the world record just a few weeks ago. His mclaughlin first gold medal since twenty. One muhammed one golden rio. She's thirty one now. Pablo i suppose. You want to undercut these records as he did yesterday talking about their shoes and the fast track. I appreciate you undercutting.

"We left it off talking a little bit about Trevor Story and his potential situation of the Rockies Post. The All Star break. Also want a chance to bring up Herman Marquez, who is going to be representing the Rockies tonight, You know, pitching at some point in the game we've always heard for years about how you can't pitch here at Coors Field, But Marquez seems to be really If you want to say, throwing a curve at that notion, earning a spot in the All Star roster, I assume we're going to see him at some point tonight, maybe midway through the game. Yeah, and I talked to him yesterday for a little bit. And that was the expectation that he got talking with Dave Roberts and likely, maybe just talking with but black. Who's Dave Roberts? Long time really close friend Roberts, Of course, the manager of the Dodgers worked on Buddy staffed with the Padres for so many years and so remind so that he expects to expect to get in there. Some people were hoping that he would end up as the starter but at eight and six while he's been really, really good, and obviously a bunch of strike, as we talked about 114 And a lot of those losses aren't necessarily even his fault or no decisions and a couple instances, make sure there's a three time Cy Young winner and eight time all Star and so to see sure, there start isn't that big of a surprise because he will see Herman out there for sure that I think the bigger bummer is that Ryan McMahon or even Trevor Story who's had a really good last month, or Charlie Blackmon has been to If you all Star games, I think four By my count, none of those guys are there as well that that Germans the only rocky that we'll see tonight in uniform a little disappointing, so I assume they would get him in because that would just make the local fans happy to to see Iraqi out there an amount for for for the hometown team during the All Star Game. Speaking of that, you kind of bring up a little bit about the Rockies flavor to it. How important is it? I mean, it's been two decades since we had the Austria game, but how is important to have Legends like Vinnie Castiel and Todd Helton involved with the events. I think it's great. I got to see Todd briefly yesterday. He coached in the Celebrity All Star game that aired last night after the home run derby that was played on Sunday, and his team won, and he had a bunch of the Denver athletes on his team, including von Miller and brand. McMahon is and group out and Wilbert. And so it was good as he Todd back around because he's living in Tennessee. No, so we just don't see him very much. Then he is around. He's at every home game as a Special consultant of the team. You know the exact title is something along those lines, and he was always talking to young hitters. Certainly a lot of the young Latino ballplayers for sure, But when you hit as many home runs, as he did, he gave Trevor story plenty of advice after being in a couple of home run derbies in his own right because Trevor talked about that post his home run Derby Outing last night. And so that both those guys is great. It's a bummer. Larry Walker couldn't be there. Dante Bichette, especially with his son, Beau, playing in the game for Toronto. And I think Bo is going to plan a lot of all starting the way this kids look, but it's cool to have guys like Vinnie and and not only Todd Helton, but LaTroy Hawkins has been around a bunch of pitch here a couple different times. Here's part of really cool diversity panel yesterday with Ken Griffey Jr and Hall of Famer Ferguson Jenkins. And and a couple other notable all C C. Sabathia was it was on there that I got to go see over at play ball parks. It's cool. It's cool to have a lot of these legends of the game around. I'm going to bring up on a Todd Helton's teammates and probably not the one you think he was a backup to Peyton Manning at Tennessee. And Peyton, you know, participating in, of course, the big controversy about having his shirt untucked, which was kind of hilarious. It's all over the social media pages. But more importantly, he was interviewed and Peyton sharing his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers saying one that he hopes he's going to actually stay in Green Bay and two. He just doesn't think at this point, you know, weeks out from the season, you know, getting ready to commence in a serious manner that he will come to Come and play for the Broncos. What's the reaction? You've been? What are your thoughts on that? Well, I think there's plenty of folks in Broncos country. They honestly Aaron Rodgers and the Broncos uniform and I understand every time they've had a Hall of Fame quarterback at the end of his career, they won Super Bowls right the track records there so if they did end up landing Aaron Rodgers one way or another, I think the Broncos fans would be happy to understand where patents coming from in his mind Peyton even when he went into the Hall of Fame and at various points Throughout his tenure here, said he always wanted to play in Indianapolis. He loves his time in Denver. He still lives in Denver. Rina's his wife and two kids live in Denver. They make Denver their home where they could literally live just about anywhere, right. And so you know that he loves Denver, but he just liked that idea of always planned for the same team like his brother Eli didn't like. So if you really have been able to, including his pal, Tom Brady, So I understand that sentiment. And the idea that yes, roots before the season. You have to have a plan. Well, like Mike Tyson said. Everybody has a plan to get punched in the mouth. Right? Well, this would be a different type of getting punched in the mouth, so to speak. It wouldn't necessarily be great for Drew locker Teddy Bridgewater. But if Aaron Rodgers showed up here, even at the end of training camp, I think the Broncos and Vic Fangio and his staff with Pat Shurmur would adjust and figure out how to work Aaron Rodgers in the lineup. And and run plays that that he was comfortable with until he got the full playbook down. So I understand the patents coming from, But if they do decide to Aaron Rodgers, I know if they will. They may wait for the entire year and call his bluff and say, Sit out, and we'll trade you next offseason, but it was, you know, understandable, patented way in the way he did, But I don't think that books closed until we know that it's officially closed. Thank you. My friend will talk to you again here about 15 minutes. Sounds great. Thanks, Marty. Alright. Bkr Sports anchor 8 30. The news coming up here In just a moment we take a look at the drive again with Dave Hunter. Unfortunately, we have a new accident..

Yes, Absolutely. We We've talked about these folks. Last year. It's a group called Farms. Food, familiar Mutual aid. It's brought together by a couple different groups in the little Village area. Um, and what they're doing is they're bringing local chefs and, uh, local farms that are growing locally sourced foods, and they're making meals and delivering them to up to about 350 people each week. It's been expanding and expanding. Unfortunately, The need as the need goes up, But there are certain to run out of money. They've got a fundraiser going up now that links it's on a go fund me page for support Farm food, familiars mutual aid. We also have a story about it on our site with links to it. They're trying to raise $120,000 to extend this program through the end of the year. By their count, they've done 20,000 meals to families and each one of this has been delivered specific. To to a family in Little Village, Englewood, South Shore, Marquette Park all areas around the South side. It's swell some on the North side. So the good effort lots of good people, people already in the restaurant business and in the farm business. So, uh, they're trying to keep this thing going, because, uh, No, this problem is not letting up with the student security around Chicago and again more information available at Block club Chicago dot org. The first monument in the city that honors a black woman will be coming to South then sends Avenue and this is quite something, isn't it? You have big ceremony this morning at 9 30. It's going to honor Ida B. Wells, the activist and teacher and journalist among so many different things. It's called the Light of truth. It's a big, gorgeous monument. It was just put up at 37th in Langley, actually, in the spot where the R two B wells homes used to stand On the exact spot. Those were demolished about 10 years ago.
