Jim Cramer & Rob Maurer Discuss Tesla's Q2 Earnings Results
"Famer here for special issue. The street live and talking all things. Tesla we've got tested daily host and tesla investor. Rodney our rob butcher skit. Right to it The earnings completely. Well it just say they obliterated yes the but the same time i have to ask you elect guy. Did on squawk on the street is somehow the magic lost. Because this wasn't good quarter. I mean i've got the same question for you jim. I'm sitting here. And i'm seeing the stock down to three tenths of a percents and i'm wondering the same thing. Tesla beat revenue by four percent. They beat earnings by more than fifty percents and the stock is down. So you know. I'm a little bit surprised honestly. Because i think tesla did crush it. Maybe some of the comments on the earnings call weren't what investors were looking for but Yeah i'm definitely super happy with the results personally. I think that when i saw the numbers they were terrific on the call I described the the com school as pedestrian knitting described manufacturing processes and he described guide the same thing that ford gm say which is supply chain issues semiconductor problems. Is it possible when he says that synagogue shortages this quite serious that it's actually maybe for the first time i'm hearing under promise. So maybe overdeliver if he gets those semiconductors i definitely think that's part of it. I also think you just want people to appreciate the challenges that the industry and tesla's dealing with right now And in light of those challenges just setting the results against those they're even more impressive I think probably to some extent. That's what he wants trying to get across. Obviously he you know doesn't necessarily word it in those terms He's not really about the short-term stock price but I think that's what he's getting at is just how difficult things have been and yet. How successful tesla's ben In that sort of backdrop

All it's peppered with statistics about minor league major league the evangeline league which was really interesting to me. Because i didn't realize our background here. How important minor league baseball was in this part of the world. One of the reasons for writing the book was to keep alive. The legacy of the crowley millers the ballpark that they played in that still here. In fact it's looking better than ever and The storied past of the evangeline which was established in one thousand nine hundred eighty four and lasted until nineteen fifty seven. There was a little time out for world war two right but just a colorful league. In fact it was known as the best literally in baseball and of course that was before there was literally it was classed d and it produced a number of major leaguers a hall of famer named how new hauser who won over two hundred games in the majors and virgil firetrucks coach nicknames. Everybody's like picky those fights and don't get in there and talk to the girls whenever now more than ever. The girls are just starting to pull me to this out. Like you need to get some shots up. Compelled me or whatever. So it's it's been a smooth transition but it's still a little bit of adjustment like densely To go from being a player to coach

"Detroit's own chris. Webber will be inducted into the basketball hall of fame. I thought you were talking about me coming back to town all and no no. No i bet they were going wild over country. It's country summer country days country day. Yeah country day zone. But it's you know. I think it's like a mixed bag to be honest. I don't think everybody thinks he's like a lock to be in the hall of fame. I think it's a mixed bag fan. Now we are going in. And of course. Detroit's been wallace. Who was a key cog in that championship game team. He of course is the hall of famers. Divide from the people. I've talked about one. A scientific poll. But i thought more people feel better about ben being ending chris Well i'll tell you what and we'll get into this later. When i heard that been made it i was like chris. Webber has to be in. Chris was a better player and been now been had a role that was critical and he was a key cog obviously on that i call them bad boys the remix that that third championship detroit one but chris. Webber was a better player than been. But you know what better impact. They'll ben was unbelievable. He had a bit better impact on a championship team. A team that went to the finals two years in a row he won just a role player he was a big party was a role player though. No going to be in this and it's doing of ood. He was huge. All

"Had go bear. i don't want to belabor it. Because i hold a row column about it i get. Why people think obama's people think bears little overrated as a defender that he's not as matchup proof in the playoffs. As ben simmons or draymond green is but i think for the regular season eighty two games. It's go bear and i had. Interestingly i think i dream on green second i don't think a lot of people have that high simmons thriving draymond has been almost every bit as good defensively as he wasn't as prime and talk about a leader. He's a teacher out there for that team right now. You know there was a time when it was klay thompson andrei etc out there and you didn't have to do a lot of teaching But with this group of guys on the defensive end draymond deserves a lot of credit. When he was not playing early in the season they were a tire. Fire on the defensive end of court And there were times of the season where you would. Short their defenses is number one or two in the entire mba after draymond started playing. They're not gonna end up there but yet always in the conversation and if this is a playoff award which it's not the rudy go. Bare argument is fair There's been playoff series where he hasn't able to be out there and and that's something to watch as we go in but this is a regular season award and when you look at the stats especially on off stats. Go bears numbers. Just jump off the page. Six had to what you're his first game of the year. I don't know if you have you been doing. Mba game at this year. No okay. I went to my first one last weekend in san antonio from austin down to see 'cause i wanted to see him bead in i was struck. At just how warps the philadelphia. Seventy sixers defense was like you look out there. It's ben simmons. It's thiokol at times. It is danny green. It is tobias harris. His joel embiid. You're just my spurs and i'm like a repick on here this is. This is not a team. That's going to go easy in the playoffs. This man's six. But ben simmons deserves more jordan. Clarkson is the classic sixth man of the year. Will we disagree. I went ingles. I can't say anything bad about joe. Ingles but forget you can encourage you to say something about about joined goes because he'll get mad at you in tweedy you. It'll be a whole thing. It'll be fun mad at me. i. I'll say i'll say this though clerks san antonio no i will say that clarkson goes. He fits that vinnie microwave. Johnson vibe the lou williams vibe The monje nobly you come off the bench and you stir the pot in europe problem and that's super important thing both in the regular season and the playoffs. He can really change vibe of jazz game just by coming in. I voted him second. No problem with him. Winning is voted in second. Tim hardaway junior third. All right mr goldberg. You have work to do. I have worked to your column is on. Espn today on these three..

"Would've had a whole program or under like and this is the guy who wanted to draft him. Seven goes to show how how our attitudes of changed when when you see drastic changes in attitudes like that. It's it's instructive to look back at. Why they changed an in. Both kevin and kobe changed it now. There were failures. Act that era of guys that were not ready in. When was sit here on hall of fame weekend. We have the selection bias. We're going to talk about the two guys that we're talking about lenny. Cooke who's part of jonathan abrams. Book kwami brown. We're not talking about these guys That didn't make the hall of fame But that said straps to kevin garnett Anything is possible. Zach lowe in his career demonstrated that and you mentioned the minnesota thing. That's a great point. I mean that franchise now a new owners. Japan's it looks like but that franchise his has not been very good And i don't care if you're tim duncan or if you're zion williamson or if your lebron james you can in some cases only go as far as your organization will take and i think you made an incredible point about that with kevin arnett. Not only does he go to the minnesota timberwolves but look the western conference that he was trying to compete with the thing you know. There's this idea that while he didn't go anywhere with minnesota timberwolves. I think it's it's the opposite. Made the playoffs regularly in one year word. All kind of came together with casella spree. Well until they got hurt. They made the conference finals in a heavyweight conference. If if people want to go back and watch one. Prime minnesota cagey game game. Seven against the kings who are still good in two thousand four in the second round in minnesota kings Maybe minnesota should have one that is easily but anyway game seven cagey goes for thirty to twenty one. Four steals five blocks on twelve of twenty three shooting and a bunch of free throws incredible. All around game does everything for them and then you have the sort of the other. What if of kgan and it's one of those you know like this year the injury that i think i will remember exactly where it was where where i learned about. It was jamal murray because you had a sense of denver was coming together. This is gonna be a really interesting team. I might have picked might have got. They probably would have been my pick to win the west. Frankly two thousand nine. I remember exactly where it was when cagey went up for an oop in utah and came down holding his right leg. That celtics team was the best team in the league and they were the favorites to win the title and all of their legacies look different. If cagey stays healthy body. He didn't stay healthy. And frankly that's baked into trading a bunch of young guys in picks for thirty one year old or whatever. You was with a lot of mileage like that's not it's not just complete bad luck sort of debt. Chances baked into that team construction yet and they took a risk on garner. They sent away a lot and they brought him in in the they got the one title they got the one title and then the injury started in the two thousand ten injury and the play in the finals with hurricane. I think it was They could won three in a row but they did. An injuries are a fact of life in this league. It's sad it's the nuggets story as you alluded to right now but boston got the championship. They were awarded with that big. Move in it's an iconic team that first year. They were together and they probably should have won a second one. If that didn't have the orthopedic nightmare that that happened But that's common in. The nba is heartbreaking as it is but you know what one of the cool things about this year seasons act. Is that the two top. Mvp candidates or both centers Here we are talking about garnett. His legacy when the mvp is a power forward a big men are starting to be relevant again. You br you brought up denver. Yokich is going to win. The mvp in embiid is going to be second. And we haven't seen a one two finish with centers since we were kids And maybe four so i. I think it's interesting in the context of what garnett brought because small ball was always a misnomer what we're really seeing in the nba. Right now a skill ball yup in met was a perfect example of how big players can still thrive in today's nba. But there's just no tolerance for plotting slow limited skill players anymore. You have to bring it. You have to pass ribble shoot play defense you have to be. The equivalent of five will baseball player in basketball. If you wanna be a big player if you want to be any player anymore and kevin garnett set that up. Now look at us. We have yokich in embiid two of the biggest skill players And they can do it all just like garnet. I think that they are going to finish. Onto and i don't think it's going to be close. I think yoga you'll get most of the first place votes in embiid will get most of the second place votes in unbeatable. Get the first place votes. The yoga says get a job at the second place votes that it doesn't get 'cause he gets first place with Yeah cagey played some five. You didn't like to play five. Played some say. Boston had that killer small on where they will put eddie house in shift. Gay geeta five didn't like to play five today. He'd play more five and he'd be fine with it because that's how you would win. But he he was such a good jump shooter that you could play him at four even today and it was it was i mean. That's that's essentially. What the lakers are doing with. Anthony davis is..

"It's tempting to take from that while defense doesn't matter anymore. It's that's that's not the case it. What that means is defense. Is harder now than it used to be and it still matters just as the numbers might reflect offenses is prevailing and that's true but in relative terms. You still need to be a unless you're brooklyn and you're just setting the world on fire offensively like even they will have a floor of defense below which they will not be able to win the championship. Just because defense is harder doesn't mean it matters less the i love it. I love peled's work on that in. It's it's definitely changing like everything else in the nba. But one of the things. I think i stole this from you. Back in the grantland era. One of the big pieces of conventional wisdom of the twenty first century in the nba is going up on trial this year with brooklyn nets and that is do you have to be a top ten or eleven defensive efficiency team to win the nba title because literally every champion. This century has been Maybe there's one exception. Might be one of those lakers teams at the very beginning. Well they'll get two thousand one lakers. I think are the team that famously dog it in the regular season and we're like twentieth and then in the playoffs they went. They just destroyed everybody. They may merely the game was the only one they lost An unusual team say the least certainly could play 'em credible defense when they wanted to but yeah. I think that's going up on trial this year with the nets who to their credit have gone from terrible to average on defense but still. Don't check that top ten or eleven box so yeah in and if they do do that zach think poetically. It means that defense. A is sort of growing less important. If a team like this brooklyn team kyri and with James hornet win the title. That said yet defense still matters. This year's hall of fame class includes three phenomenal to way. Superstores let's talk about let's blitz go through him in source sarah favorite members. Let's start with duncan fifteen time all star fifteen time all defense twenty six thousand four hundred ninety six career regular season appoints eighteenth poetically. It's about it's ninety nine behind george gerber other sort of all time. Great spurs five time. Champion honestly sixth in points in the playoffs. Could you name the can you. Can you think you named five players who have more postseason points than tim. Duncan oh man. While i would say michael jordan lebron james and kobe in gasoline. Yes and oh gosh this is. You're gonna kill me. I can't get durant. Nope durant is eleven th all-time and playoff points in this season he will be. He will be tenth. You'll pass all time greats per tony parker. It's fitting that you're not getting the fifth guy. Trolling may right now. I don't even know what trolling is anymore. But i'm not doing to me right now. You're humiliating me. On one of the cast you went four for four instantaneous. Instantaneously like kareem. That's a that's a reach back in time. He's the guy you're missing. Who is fifth. All-time is shaquille. O'neal you know i. I saw someone tweet about this this week. I think it all the time. I think shack. Now it's funny. We say this because when you start looking at the twenty greatest players of all time they're all also so freaking. Good that it's hard to say. Any of them are underrated. Because you're looking them unless you're like oh my god who are they better than i do. Think shack the perception that he was out of shape and disappointing and didn't care enough in the regular season scheduled his foot surgery. So he missed time and blah blah blah. It has made has made him underrated. I think shack historically underrated eight. There was just nothing you could do is akila absolutely nothing. The list of players that were most dominant in any time in their careers during my life starts with michael jordan and shaquille o'neal around that two thousand one. There's nothing you can do. He was he was He's definitely the greatest center of my life and that is arguably the most important position in nba history but yet. I don't think. Kobe is become more iconic overtime. And people forget that shack when those finals. Mvp's during the three p. He was he was the reason they were they. Were unstoppable in that incredible three year. Rods good your nose when the season starts heating up so do the possibilities playful are beginning to emerge contenders are in their position from here on out. Every game is a chance to create momentum to make the right past the right move to hit the perfect shot it takes momentum to build up to the moment but everything to capture it. Goodyear more driven. Let's talk about timmy. Because you worked for the spurs for several years obviously five time champion Just just as an example. Two thousand three playoffs the spurs. Go through a good sons team. A good laker seem a very good maverick's team and then a good nets a are they the next year i think there in. That's your dunkin's averaged for that playoffs. Twenty four points. Fifteen rebounds five assists and three blocks on fifty three percent shooting. He wraps the finals against the nets with a twenty one point. Twenty rebound ten. Assist eight block almost quadruple double. It's one of. I think now people think of tim is a sort of like fund. Late career. Timmy was like this fundamental. Sixteen and eight all look at him. He's all in the right places. He's always making like the smart deflections and this in that prime. Timmy was a monster offensive player. Who could get you thirty. Five and fifteen on any given playoff at any given playoff game. yeah. I think you're right about that later era. Tim wasn't as slow as that. Giant knee. brace He was super savvy and super smart. Must still a factor even that last title run But people forget young. Tim was quick young With strong young team was a killer..
Michael Jordan Recalls Final Texts With Kobe Bryant Before Helicopter Crash
"In fact, there's a story which is out today in which Michael Jordan revealed the last text messages that they exchange shortly before Kobe's Death, and it was like you would think to Hall of Famers would talk to each other. They talked about basketball. They talked about family even talked about tequila, and they talked about coaching their kids over the years and you get to see Side of Kobe Bryant, and most people don't get to see because one we would never see his text messages. But we get a sense of how he was a doting father and how he enjoyed his post basketball life where he was spending time. Just being a dead yes, that included being a coach and being around basketball in a Quasi coach fashion for his Children, But he just enjoyed the whole aspect of not living his life through professional basketball, preparing for games but more preparing for his daughter's game. G, who, unfortunately is no longer with us as well. But we got to see a side through Kobe Bryant and his text messages with Michael Jordan. How Kobe was supremely focused on family. And it was nice to have that type of

If anything is even needed, these guys are just stay consistent. We're going to do a good job as a staff as being consistent even though it will be super super excited. But these players have embraced very unique season and found ways to have success throughout the mini challenges that's gone. On it's an honor to sit and watch them every day and just be supportive of them you and I were talking about that very thing before we started to record this Kevin Notion of this, very unusual year for all of us. But for what baseball has tried to do the fact that issue and the dodgers, the two best teams who survived seven game series to get here it feels like cosmetically this all kind of makes sense. It just Kinda wild to me how baseball always sort of figures it out. You know what I'm saying has that resonated with you that in this year that in the end these these are the two best teams. Well, it did as soon as we watch the game last night where the dodgers clinched advance onto the world series. That was the first thing that popped in my mind is that a lot of really good teams but the. Two teams with the best records in their respective leagues found their way to be playing the last seven and the last two standing. I don't know how many times that's happened but with everything and the uncertainty of this season for it to come to an end, like will these next seven to ten days? Whatever it takes should be exciting for baseball the guys on the other side of plenty talented and they're a really good team but. What's the thing Kevin About your group they make you calm not stressed about what is to come you know this about your group that makes you feel confident and comfortable about what is in front of you look we haven't played the dodgers. We've played them to four games whatever it was last year, but we played the Yankees and the Astros to very very talented clubs, veteran oriented clubs, playoff pedigree clubs. Now, the dodgers have as much. Playoff pedigree as any team in baseball. But saying that those experiences are going to help us in this exciting world series. I'm really interested in your approach because organizationally you guys were ahead of the curve with a lot of sort of ideas analytically but ultimately, you manage human beings and so when you go to get the ball from a morton or a snow because that's sort of what makes sense you got to manage the human being. That you're taking that ball from what have you found has really connected you to your team because everything I hear and read about you is that these guys they will do anything for you and that there's a real trust and respect how has that been forged Kevin? Well, I think the biggest credit goes to the players in the in, and then the staff that we get to work with on a daily basis and the messaging that. Goes on look those decisions are never easy. They're gut wrenching and one night they work the next they don't our players. They appreciate that every decision that we're making is trying to win the game that night when you can get twenty five or twenty eight guys to buy into that. It's a pretty special thing and they have guys like a rosary and keep doing what they're doing. They make all the they make pretty smart I think. You're exactly right. Just stay out of his way. I don't even want to look in the eye right now nothing to change what he's done. He's been spectacular for us. He has. Let me close this Kevin the lightning win the Stanley Cup Bruce Arians closed his press conference on Monday after big win over Green. Bay We go raise. There's this vibe in Tampa Bay and it's unfortunate. The people can't beat together the way they typically were but I just wonder if you could describe the sense you get from afar of what kind of support and by. And there is in that city for what's going on on the sports doubt incredible support talking to family and friends they're on a plane now coming out to Dallas. But what they have witnessed with just just a lot of positivity when the bay area needed it and I go back and forth with John Cooper with a lightning. Awesome to see what the lightning did. We all know what the bucks are doing with Tom Brady and Bruce Arians to be a part of that here with the raise is pretty special. It's it's great for the bay area. Bleacher tweets. Already bustard leaker tweets for Tuesday the at first up, I wanted to ask you question from yours truly as a guy who grew up listening to baseball on the radio how cool is it for you to be calling a world series on the radio and with your pal Dan Shulman I assume you've done this before right? Yeah I've done the last few world series on ESPN radio You know I'm not the guy it's going to be Dan, Schulman in the boots. So to speak up in Bristol with Chris Singleton and would just come and does all sort of be the you know the satellite swirling around doing pre and post game shows dropping during the course the broadcast it's in absolute blast. You know I got to work with Dan on Sunday baseball for. Seven Years we become good friends. I have such respect for his work That'll be really cool. It kind of reminds me of when I got first time I got to work alongside Peter. Gammons you know who had been my heroes a writer that's kind of what it is to work on the radio with Dan Shulman who is crazy voice I just don't WanNa talk right after he talks illuminates how bad my voices and how great his voices. That's very cool man. All right I we got Robert Robert Bo Nasty I. believe that's how you're saying here. mookie. Betts is clearly a premier defensive outfielder. So how did he end up primarily being in right field? Instead of Centerfield I think two reasons for that Jackie Bradley Jr. of course was the center field the Red Sox when Mookie was put in the Boston outfield and Jackie is an extraordinary defender. The other thing too is a lot of what mookie does at the time he was putting right field. And Fenway Park fit that ballpark like right field and fenway park is one of the more difficult outfield spots the playing baseball because of the size in the open space and also the configuration with Pesky Pole and how it curls around in right field and how quickly it goes out a deep out in right field. Next up, we got Greg Steinbrecher at Greg Stein brick he writes in do you think the fact that both teams in the world series?.

"Today's baseball is that they don't have multiple guys coming out of their bullpen get a lot of myths I. Think it's the one area where they are deficient and I'm excited to see how that plays out I would agree with you I. Absolutely agree with you about that. That is the raise advantage. It was very interesting yesterday because I'll reach out to a bunch of people National League and American League and say, who do you think's GonNa win and all the National League people are like, oh. The dodgers, the dodgers, a better team the dodgers have a better offense. The American league people were like the rays bullpen is awesome and I did Ross stripling SP- podcast yesterday and we talked about that and Ross, played on the dodgers. So he looks at you know their group and and I think feels like that there is tremendous depth in terms of names in the accomplishments but you and I are on the same page in terms of that swing and Miss Component. The one thing I would say is and I really felt like this manifested in the dodgers series not only do they have a deep lineup that can score a lot of runs they got a lot of veteran hitters who by the end of that series you have felt like in Anderson. They were GONNA figure out a second time and they hit and they wore him down. And I don't I don't feel like the the race necessarily have the type of firepower. Soon, aware way to describe it. You know the rays have to keep everything down to forty two games three, two games five to two because if one of these teams GonNa Explode it's going to be the dodgers. Agree. I I agree with that point this is phenomenal. Dodger lineup I agree with you about the adjustment. Now there is one tweak they all you know that I'll throw in there and that is the one distinction. Let. Let me start with this. If this was a seven in a row series, I, really liked the dodgers. But because of the off days I don't get means having cash could stay away from a couple of the guys that he wants to stay away from and get rest for certain guys because there's one aspect you know we could sit there and talk about multiple times through the order. But at a certain point, if you'RE GONNA pitch. Chris Martin. Five Times in seven game series that there is a mass to that that you you keep giving these guys a look at at a picture and it. You know it. Gets to be advantage hitter. So I don't know how you know how this will all shake out but I think that you know as it relates to having nasty that off day you know I do think that that's a good thing for the race to give them a chance to you know to use their bust is the question is you know as I'm bringing up is You know. If they keep sue even though they're the best guys you keep giving this lineup a chance to see him how does that play out I'm not sure all right I wanna make this absolutely clear. You are not a narrative guy you reflexively narrative fact that said. That said what's at stake for Clayton Kershaw on his world series? Nothing. In my opinion wow, I agree with you completely. Nothing is at stake. I don't think I nothing at stake and as evidenced by the problem with the narrative is that. If he goes. If he pitches twice in pitches great will not end the narrative I. Think we're in a place where it can only be. I think we the people of Connor decided on it. I think that people Feel you know he doesn't push well in the playoffs so I don't like because I don't think the narratives always fair or make sense. So I don't think that you the the implication the question I would like to make the point good. Sir Is that the narrative gets handled properly based on the results and so the question the question is flawed your honor and I I just think that if nothing is the state because I don't think you're GonNa Change People's minds look. Clayton Kershaw after five innings in his start. In the NLC S had gone thirteen innings and giving up one run he gave up a seventy mile an hour sixty, seven hopper to Ronaldo Kunia that turned into a double, and then because of a shift, an RBI single from Freeman and he should have been out of the game and like snow would have been pretty darn good thirteen innings and two rum's but it's just left in the face. The numbers get ugly and everybody's like, wow, this guy can't do it. But no one's going to look at it that way the other point that I keep making over and over and over again is. Here's why this is not. It's not relevant anymore like and this is why the marital the stupid. We're litigating a guy that's on the decline. If you WANNA Lynn a gate, the performance of a guy in a crucial post-season spot. Who still throwing ninety, four miles an hour. But if you want this argument, go to fan grass and look at what his average fastball velocity is from two thousand, fourteen to two, thousand and twenty, and even though there was an uptick, this year and a sixty game season, it goes ninety, four, ninety, three, ninety to ninety one. So you're honestly sitting there saying that you think you're implying there's something mental emotional psychological, but he can't handle the big spot while the evidence right there. Then he's declining and it's thirty two years old so it's not fair to we're not judging. Peak Lebron. James Versus Peak Michael. Jordan we're not judging P Clayton kershaw against Peak Clayton Kershaw this Clayton Kershaw that is not in his prime anymore. So it's it's a silly conversation as far as I'm concerned on the narrative. UPI placed in the hands of people that aren't capable of handling it. I think. You came down with a hammer. Okay. Appeals Court, Right. You threw it back to me to to ask better question and handle the case differently. I believe this and you and I have talked about this privately I I think the whole thing is much more nuance than you know the the fact that his era is just two runs worth. But the fact is is that his era is two runs worse in a large. Sample size. Almost the full season. The comparison I'd been making is to John Elway at the end of his career right I mean for years when John? elway was quarterback Nebraska does it was why can't get over the top? Why can't he come over the top as with Kershaw there are a lot of factors completely out of John always control as he was going through those years but by the end of his career. As a declining older quarterback, he leads the broncos to a couple of championships in the conversation is sort of blunted and you don't really hear John Elway brought up someone who couldn't win the big one. That's why I think there is a little bit at stake. I put a lot of stock in the arguments that people make about Kershaw but I do think if they win the world series, then some of the..

"And that'll be the case this year guys. It's one of the most glossed over stats and sports and it shouldn't have been. We'll ever regional nichols with us here in one minute on the Shell Pennzoil performance line hosted the jump and conduct the biggest invest interviews with everybody in the NBA key let's you stated. Lebron has to the finals I. Just rolls off the tongue because everything he does he's been to the finals nine of the last ten years. It's ridiculous nine of the last ten years it is ridiculous. You didn't I never envisioned seeing anything like this right? I mean obviously, you saw the certain dynasties they go you know three then they lose and they you know maybe there's another one and they lose maybe there's a to you see that sort of things but you don't see an individual player Go the way Lebron has gone in. Do Things Lebron's has done carry teams on his back despite having other hall of fame players around him. It's about the Brian James because when he's there, they win when he loses they don't there's just the bottom line. You know he's he's a blessing for coach, but he's also a nightmare for coach and the reason he's a nightmare for them because you don't really know if it's the coach or Lebron right you just it's like wait a minute man. Coach has the luxury of having the best player in the world on his team, and it seems that they're always winning when he's there. But then when they lose type of coach, is he really that's why it's important for God to see air exposure in my opinion, be able to take this Miami Heat team to face a Lebron James Lead Laker team in the finals because Brown was there with him, they were rolling. He left the heat kind of went sour for a little bit and then you look at the Cleveland situation you look at the the Lakers situation when he wasn't at full strength, they kinda struggle when he's at four strength even though he pairs with. A lot of that last six minutes of the game five you saw the Lebron James Superstar, Brian James Take Control of the game. He was not going to allow his teammates to trick it off for him. He was going to make sure one hundred percent, not hundred percent hundred percent. That they get there and get there and quick fast and hurry in. Okay. You have to watch a lot of football the time out to watch a Lotta basketball time we watch all sports but a lot of time just watching tape like I'm not crazy person. It'd be two o'clock in the morning I'm just going to turn on tape if I can't sleep I WANNA watch games I won't see different sets, different schemes people have offensively and defensively, and before this whole pandemic occurred. We got a chance to call the Lakers versus the seventy sixers. Okay in Philly and I was on the court we did a great interview with a and that we were getting done with A. Mile Simon who I used to do college basketball with that played basketball a University of Arizona. WHO's working with the Lakers came over we started talking and I was like, how are those conversations happening between Jason Kidd, and Lebron because when I play with the New Jersey Nets I would have conversations with Jay kid that will blow my mind. He would be able to see three or four sets ahead and be able to also tell you what the photograph memory that you Ki- like. Ten different possesses behind Lebron James. Mind is built the same way those two we listened to them talking now Simon was like look it's on a different level. You have a lot of people say, well, you need your best player to be a coach on the floor of -solutely, and that's who Lebron James is almost to a fault sometimes because it's a coach. Doesn't know what he's doing. The are gonNA tell you won't I've been around this guy I've seen this I've noticed like his knowledge is so immersed in is so detailed and I really don't think we're going to recognize his greatness key until he's gone I really do I think people love to talk about all the other things? He's doing civil rights leader and? More than a vote and you know a lot of people finding different ways to hate him Lebron James, when it comes to I disagree with that. I think what he's doing is tremendous giving athletes more of a footprint in a model to use their voice. But as release a possible acumen, I haven't I haven't seen a player of his caliber have that type I, Q and along. It. A. Lot of a lot of great players in sports have high IQ's because they whether it's a quarterback whether it was basketball with Jordan Kobe Lebron, James You yourself at Duke You you knew what was happening because you studied the film you saw you knew what was coming Nex it's like it's like quarterbacks they could get to the pre snap read and know, okay, this is what's going to happen on this down distance. This is their tendencies me as a receiver I could tell you. Exactly what they were getting ready to do because they've shown it. So many times I've studied it enough to know they don't change. This is the down and distance. This is what they do on this particular set. This way they drop this is how they get to this sort of formation. It doesn't change the Brian James He understands what they're getting ready to do when he gets the ball in a certain part of the court in a corner. Okay. They getting ready to trap me I know. I'm expecting it here they come running at me, but I got my guy over here. So prior to them into me, I already know once they close them Bam I could do that you all great players when they study up the game as you him and other great ones have done they know what's coming because you put in the work if you don't put in the work, that's where you fail it's just it's clear as day don't put into work. This way you fail also helps key you guys got a guy and regime Rondo that sees the game say. Lebron right same type of situation. Lebron's off the court. Now you have another point God. Right somebody says no go here and those to make the game. So easy as much. We give Lebron James Praising he deserves all regime rondos one of the major glue pieces to that team that keeps them all together when when you see when you see them pushing the floor and you make an a no look pass or something along those, they already saw they already anticipating you point gorge you should be stepping in and telling me this that when I'm. Seriously when I'm bringing the ball to court, I already know when my guys going to be already peripheral. This is what's getting ready to happen that defenders GonNa slide over there that way is going to open up the lane. So now when I'm at the Cup kickback out because they don't collapse on me, that process is happening so fast that it's like Bam, I can do it and get it over with now your turn wasn't say so offensive sets that's like.

"Highest level until when I can't take anymore and when would that be? That's what I'm asking what's your threshold for losing? Would things start to really look at Dr is open but I don't have a problem I don't have a problem to the coach saying Yo, we gotta figure something else out. But if I was on the team with him, I wouldn't have to worry about that because I'm getting his head to a point where his mentality change. or We go find somebody else to do it. Becomes. Even the bigger question, right? Because I can't be remiss that keyshawn Johnson will be the only player but his high team that talking to them trying to get his head. So I wonder about where's Carson Wentz leadership stamp how do you? Communicate with Carson Winston and everybody else does there see how you communicate with them in deal with them naked see that and then they start to. Chime in, do those things and he starts to play better. That's just you and nothing wrong with having a conversation with him in a coach in front office people you let them know like you gotta get this do and I would tell the coast it's your job to get him to play better. It Ain't my damn job is show job. We'll see in just a matter of how ready Jalen hurts is going to be because he's so briefly into his NFL career still to come original Nichols always sits down the biggest stars in the NBA throughout the course of the year say some. Ano- 'cause they played the. Forty niners at steelers. beat up and then okay I saw the giants at steelers and the Ravens. Okay. Let's why we're going to buy you WANNA see where we're going to be in three weeks. That's all right now. Oh, two in one but an Owen, three with three game stretch is certainly not an impossibility as I was mentioning Rachel sits down with all the big stars in the NBA and there is one superstar she sat down with this summer when everything was kind of waiting for basketball to return that sat down and said, we're going to be able to win title this year who said it and who's on the verge of making it pay off by the way it wasn't Lebron..

"Up sooner saying like what happened to coaches being what you have an urn playing this week we're going to play player X or we're gonNA give Jalen hurts x amount of snaps under center go play, and you know what if you WanNa get Carson Wentz guava and go get it go fight for. Now. It's like everything is everybody's so treated with these white gloves. We're so sensitive I'M GONNA have to worry about how fragile you are will you come to work the next day? Will you be the same? What happened to them mentality keyshawn Johnson, give me the Damn Ball. All right. You don't WanNa play me I'm GONNA come back here I'm GonNa Bust your head open. I. Don't feel that we see that as much anymore it feels like it's missing in sports. Now it's like everybody gets a trophy came at fifth-placed. Great. Here's your rib in I. Don't WanNa live in that world anymore as an athlete, and maybe I'm disappear pontificating but it feels like we're treating the cards to win situation very delicately because it's very fragile and that's not what sports is to me. I was star bussing and I was laughing when you said can the money and whole deal but that's The conversation. The Philadelphia Eagles are paying Carson win a whole lot more money than do page as well. But that's another conversation As, it starts with the money you in professional sports particularly football you have to follow the money to start with. Okay. The fact that he he's on the books for a lot of money over the next couple of years of. Money they're not willing to put Jalen hurts in different situation than Mitch, trubisky understood Nick. Foles Mitch Trubisky's fifth year option was not picked up. That was a clear sign that we're not fooling with you. Compare it to I'm I'm trying to give you an example of both so that you could understand why I always approach it. The way that I do nick foles comes in three no boom. He's played in the League. He's ready to go carson. Wentz right now whether you believe it or not. Coaches cliche. He gives them the best chance to win today. And a lot of it has to do with following the money when a guy when you go out and you give a guy, one, hundred plus million your, and that gives them the best chance Carson Wentz intercept whence gives them the best chance to win a part of that is because of the money we're not dealing with we're not dealing with whether you believe it or not whether the coaches in that room believe it or not, or some of the players believe it or not. The fact of the matter is when they gave him one hundred plus million dollars guarantee money they say. It you are my quarterback the difference in Jacksonville with Nick foles is they didn't give him a hundred million they gave him you know whatever it was forty million they take that and swallow that. But they're not going to swallow one hundred plus million dollars guaranteed money. No matter would anybody tell you that's just not where it's at two years from now as that number dips down guaranteed money and cap, they'll go. Okay. Now you start to think maybe you mess around with it a little bit more but you put him in the lineup and Jalen hurts she put him in the lineup. And all of a sudden jalen hurts becomes the quarterback in the eagles go three and three. The looks really good. In now you've got Carson wentz on the books for sat on with the numbers are but whatever it is, it's a lot. You can't movie because nobody won't pay you that even though people may think they could fix him be hard to move and Jalen hurts continue to get the momentum. Now he wins over the team in the locker room. Now you say, well, he's still are starting quarterback Carson. Wentz and you put him back in the lineup now you Gotta Split Locker Room so you don't want to create that type of environment for your ball clue. You just let it play out, see where goes and then you make a decision in the future. You don't take a knee jerk reaction just because he struggling and you say we're going to Insert Jalen hurts and lineup you don't do I didn't say it was a complete takeover a couple things to your latter point. Don't you don't you want the best leader on the field I. I I. Know I know what mine? Okay. Let me let me go back to the money. I can actually make the counter argument and we've seen this in sports when some guys get their money, they feel like it doesn't matter what they do they go to play. So all I'm saying is like what happened to the old school coaching techniques sometimes, let's see how players respond key. Okay. You got your guaranteed money. Great. We know you're not performing at a high level like I'm GonNa play him a little bit more I want to go take. We we just kind of lost his thing whereas all because you've got your money and I'm committed to you that I have to play all the time it in football unlike basketball if football this heart salary cap, they don't WanNa burn through hundreds of millions of dollars playing around with players. They can very easily benching right and I'm sure a lot of the players on the team or say good move I. Think we can win but they're not. GonNa, do it right now because of that money, they're just not GonNa do it. They're on the hook for the funds once those funds run out but that that salary cap starts to decrease that number now goals from thirty million down to two or three now, and they're gonNa make that decision because you're hook for the funds as it has changed changes the way you coach him I'm just telling you I'm not GonNa have you see? Have you seen? A starting quarterback with big money that struggled in the national football league in the middle or the beginning of his deal get benched. They don't do it. It's just not part of it. It doesn't make it. Didn't say it was right or wrong is just something that they don't do. They don't do it I just feel like when we think about great coaches and for Doug Peterson to be in this conversation, guys who are willing to make twist make change but it's not about it's not all about Doug sometimes, it's the front office. If football the front office, the general managers in the President of clubs have a lot of Sake, coaches have some say on who they wanNA play and stuff like that too. But you best believe them long playwrights on Sunday nights when they sitting up in the front and First Class. Next to the coach, they're talking about philosophies and how to. Do things in that meeting that they have when they get off the plane and then meeting on Monday they're talking about who they want to insert into the lineup who may need to get some more snaps or less snaps their involved. It's not all about coaches. That's why famous thing would bill parcells. If let me you know you want me to cook the groceries let me shop and want me to cook the meal. Let me shop for the groceries want control. That's why a lot of coaches want to have control rather than listening to front office personnel of about who they should play who they should not play. So answering me this and be very frank with people. Johnson you're on his. Way of no, no, no no I'm asking for different. I'm asking Alpha mentality somebody who say what they felt. You say what you felt your on this eagles theme Carson Wentz is not playing at the level he needs to play at what would you want I'm going to try to wrap. I'M GONNA try to wrap my arms around for you would've probably been doing that wouldn't you? Know. Try to work winning. So at what point does it get? WE'RE GONNA need. To win. And look at the Vision I. Do everything I can only the only the only seen has A. Chance to get the cowboys are the Eagle I'm will do everything in my power to help him excel at the.

"Well I still would have to go with Patrick number one because he's the reigning Super Bowl champion he hasn't shown any any drop off I'd be Russell number two and and Aaron number three but again, you could move those numbers around if if you start messing with all the all the different numbers and the stats, but all three of those guys are just playing at a very high level and their teams are winning and that's the main thing. So. That's kind of what I go. You GotTa Win Those Football Games even though you your plan will quarterback spot. If you're not winning, it doesn't mean much. Let me ask you some before. We let you get out of here is the Kansas City Chiefs Baltimore Raven. Situation is that a rivalry? You know it can't be a rivalry until the other team beats the other team I I think when they both win. Then, you can start saying arrival right now it's three to Kansas City and You wanted to go robbery because you have two of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league playing against each other, and they could probably play against each other a ton and in the next couple of years maybe in the AFC championship games. But until one of them beats the other one, then you won't have arrive Risotto I'd say no right now but I think everybody. Would love to see that they love to see what Brady had against against manning and all those years, and then some of the other great rivalries over the years learn how would like to thank you for confirming what I've been arguing with keyshawn for the past three seriously three and I just blocked the piece of paper. He threw at me for three hours about this. And I also like to publicly apologize to you for not remembering a time I made public. How strong the Mitchells were. That's all I'm going to say algae mint juleps. A rookie. Also Wilson Patrick Mahomes certainly trending towards canton if they get their. Guy, that's already there Warren Moon. Congratulations. Thanks for joining us this morning. Really appreciate the perspective. Hey, guys. Thanks for having me on. You guys doing a great job what your show. Hey. One. Last thing about mahomes and we talked about is this a rivalry were continuing to get different answers keys dug in. Jay's dug in on his no no no I'm not dug in. Now. You're not dug in because two people came on and said Dan Food and so I'm GonNa Change, my process they've got to win, and then it becomes we just need more people to start confirming more things. Cup for the second time in franchise history to nothing win last night they win the series in six games, Brayden Point Blake Coleman scored, and that was able to get it done. conn Smythe Award winner for the playoffs MVP and the Stanley Cup playoffs Victor Hedman sweet sweet justice here for the lightning with the best record in the NHL last you got swept in the first round had to sit and Stew, and then they had to go to Edmund tend to try to win this thing. He's lightning get it done Serena Williams getting. It done the second round of the French Open in Chile and I mean chilly Paris where they're playing in front of barely any fans that's sports around the world and playing in fifty five degree temperatures outdoors at. Roland. Garros Williams trailed in each of the first two sets but rallied to win in straight sets over Christiaan. One more major championship. One more. And she'll tie Margaret Court for most in women's singles history and we mentioned. Jay's thoughts on the eagles coming in moments. The thoughts of the only guy that really matters those head coach Doug Peterson telling WIP radio and philly quote know whether he's GonNa pull wants you don't go there that's a knee jerk reaction went on to say quote Carson's our quarterback we're going to get it fixed he is going to get it fixed we shall see that's the opinion of Doug Peterson. So J of course he. watched. The NFC east pretty closely being a giant fan yourself. They have Jalen hurts they drafted him. He's waiting. He was inactive in week one but he's getting some snaps here and there, and you're sort of intimating it's time he gets them real snaps that you know what position what also brings up a bigger conversation that I wanted to have with key curious to get everybody's take on us like our whole family everybody that's listening. Win Did we get or when did we become super super sensitive all the time like I remember growing up in sports and I'm going to sound like one of these guys back when I played or sitting on my porch. You have to go out and earn it like when I came to. Duke. Okay we want was already there. We may be was a first or second team all American that year I came into that season McDonald's all American national player the urban like all right cool. I WANNA I wanNA take that spot. I want that to be my spot I'll go up against you every single day and I want that to be my spot. So, it was funny when I'm on air and we're talking to key and keys talking about how fragile quarterbacks are, and you can't just take him out of line up and put them back in you gave them a hundred plus million dollars. Can deteriorate the relationship between OC head coach.

I think that the N BA, which is looking at society, rightly so needs to do some focusing on itself. Yeah, Before I let you go. We want to note that to Hall of Famers died this week, former Georgetown basketball coach John Thompson and the great picture. Tom Seaver. I know that you You're a Mets fan, Your thoughts on on Tom Seaver and John Thompson. Well, Tom Seaver's greatness preceded my fandom in life a little bit. They won the world Siri's with him before it was born. But he's by far the greatest met of all time, and he was the he was the only member of the Baseball Hall of Fame with a Mets hat. That's the big thing. What team that you affiliate with? Later, Mike Piazza joined wearing the Mets hat. He also made the Hall of Fame with 99% of the vote. This was at a time when there was always one or two cranky holdout who had never vote for you since then, can Griffey Junior Mariano Rivera got 100%, But he's really just is one of the greatest pitchers of all time. And it's gutting Tio Mets fandom, which is wide and diverse. Yeah. And and John Thompson. You know, I was a fan of ST John's, which is the rival John Thompson. So I hated John Thompson. But it was a hatred born of just grudging respect. He was He was a great coach, a great recruiter, and he took social stands that at the time drew some criticism, for instance, hey boycotted the game because of the requiring certain as a T scores. To earn a scholarship. And I think history has proved him right on that stand. And I have to say when I was 10 or 11, and he did this. I was just a grumpy anti Georgetown fan. "But he'll probably get an a one more. Maybe Guy Greg your boy frank I I would put Frank Gordon I. I don't know but if we dismiss ally man who's counting stats and then we count frank counting stats like well. What are we doing her? Well first of all the counting stats running backs have declined over the year. So that makes Frank Frank Gore stats more impressive in the manning's less impressive I mean I also would say the last. The last few years of Gore have certainly helped a lot but he had a lot of years as a top five top six running. I don't know about that I think so i. If we're years would you say he was the club's the time love Frank Right. I like Frank bore. I would say first of all his second year. We had twenty two hundred yards right. People don't have computer granted I would say after. I know the numbers aren't there. The numbers like yards from scrimmage would probably put them more like eight nine ten but in terms of like the quality of his actual play in what general managers coaches would Wa. I think he was in but I asked You I. It's it's interesting player to make a case against I guess as well but I'm with you I mean this is where I mixed total hypocrite because I lobbied against Eli and I love Frank Ore and it is so you think you're it's the same case basically or very similar to the last few years of really helpful but like is it because he had five hundred six hundred yards so I think in south forgettable team gets credit for playing late in two or small he had he had odorous until he was thirty. Four he was the oldest guide to have over a thousand since the seventies so it's not like he was playing poorly all those years after his twenty one hundred eighty yard season where he goes fifteen fourteen fifteen thirteen thirteen fourteen. The the numbers aren't like astronomical. And those are yards from scrimmage. I'm talking about but I think in terms of the quality purse snap in. What coaches in GM's would they would have put them top? I get that five. I and I'll tell us it's not just about stuff like this but yards per attempt is last five seasons three point seven three point nine three point seven four point six and three hundred six so the last five years the two thousand six season his second in the League when he was like twenty. Three and He was third in rushing yards that year. It was one of the best running back scenes. I've ever seen it just was I. Think the same year Ladainian Tomlinson piece when you watch Gore that year are cynically actually some special. That was the last time you bring something out of Greg every time right. Here's a list. These are not yet and and Mark Mark. This is where you could jump in and help me out. You're saying that's I've had some omissions here. Let me know if I've missed any to this point. That should be in the first three years now three. I'm not sure I'm the first thing you buy alliens interesting one. That should be a hall of Famer. The last four years have been ever since he's Janse has a chance. I'd rather put Gino Atkins and myself. I might to Gino leading. What about Gina Smith where we smooth let me to see a little bit more? I mean did you see that coin. Toss Terrell suggs. I have him written down down. Yeah I think he's on that border line all right through also not yet I just this again cam nude. I don't even know if he's that close but this is going to be a big stretch. Ram Coming back but he has an MVP. He was a very special different important quarterback for most of this decade Mike Evans Khalil. Mack De'andre Hopkins Travis Kelsey Stefan Gilmore. And Sam Darnold. Anybody disagree with any of those Sam. darnold denied he could retire today. As you're mentioning Patrick mahomes situations. Can we get them to have a slightly average season. I sorta Kelsey is a good one. Yea Receivers you left out. Just Mike Evans is an interesting choice. I don't know if I would've gone there. I mean what about Juliet now. Now no Antonio around. Yeah that was. I think Noah Antonio Brown has a no doubter. And I know you'll get there. There'll be some conversation about this company and everything company Other guys how. He's affected his team which is fine the last year or two in league. I don't care. He's the the best wide receiver I I would say. He's the best wide receiver I've ever seen like a he. He would be my number my number one. I it depends what you like sort of but I I think at the very worst. He's in the mix of Mega Tron or Julio Jones. He's at that level Randy Moss like. That's that's a level that I mean. He blows Larry Fitzgerald out of the water. In terms of no Larry Fitzgerald as first team all be never did anything as great as Fitzgerald's playoff run. No he does does not blow him out of the. We don't really factor playoffs too tall famers in this room. I'd be accounted. They're both they're both no doubt counts and Larry Fitzgerald first entire career with better red zone weapon the speaker to compare it with no data. Can Tony around is significantly. That more. Dominant than Larry Fitzgerald View. And well that Greg has a recency biased thing that we can never get over everything that happened in the last year or two. Who is better than I already got? Patrick Mahomes as the greatest quarterback of all time then riddle me this because would you turn you against this guy but if you consider sitter his the records he shattered his first few years in the league. Oba Junior now. I know where we are with him. And they're certainly not a no doubt or I thought about it. The quickest like number. Yeah records. I'll put them in. Not Not yet. He he gives you oh good season the mix. They'll you mean he's in the middle of his career and I think the Brown thing is controversial at his peak in in terms of first team. All pros pros did there's very few receivers in the last third. I'll say this would be. You definitely can't tell the story of football now. You cannot thirty around and and it should be said Antonio Brown if you want to make the case to keep him out. Because he's been knucklehead news that issues off the field putting Terrell suggs in and either voters are some other ones explicitly told not to factor in any of. That's what they do. They seem like you Antonio Gates fired you would think Tonio Jio Games. He'll go like that. Don't forget any because we're going to get killed in twitter if we forget somebody's favorite. Helen say some hills does not made it yet. Oh He's just below Sam Darnold Gotcha looking at your list. During now by the end of the story we will be looking at a hall of fame quarterback. ooh I Harrison. Smith is a really good choice Harrison interesting borderline Cam Jordan too. But he's on you're not yet with these are looking at the bugle. Delays Campbell is an interesting. I saw him thought about him. Eric Weddell. I don't think you'RE GONNA end up in. The hall has played his last. I think he'll he'll get disgust. Disgust Eric Weddell. But if Yeah Rodney. Harrison's not in it it's tricky all right. There's so many of these like Micheal Thomas unless a major injury befalls him That guy's definitely on track. They're on their way but I put him in like Patrick Mahomes category right. Yeah you got this whole list of young guys Italy's interesting. Because Patrick Willis for the love we give him. He was eligible this year. He wasn't even in the finalists. Just because the voters do this whole waiting your turn thing. There's a pecking order like far away from waiting Sir and I think he will get in eventually but that's like he wasn't even on the short list right off the bat. which was surprised? Are you guys interested in a quick cliff's notes people don't even know cliff's notes are anymore but a quick look at what we were talking about in two thousand fourteen in the same exercise excite dug it up all right. These are the definite back then. Tom Brady peyton manning. Adrian Peterson. Drew Brees Greg at the time wrote. He's he's the only one that raised my eyebrows. You weren't in on them on him back bill bill bell check. I guess we mentioned coach. Their Troy Troy Powell Baalu. Big Big. Ben Larry Fits so Larry. We agreed with a no brainer in two thousand fourteen. Reggie Wayne which I was a little push back on Champ Bailey. Kids say and then guys who are very close matron. Jj Watt Aaron Rodgers Rivas Shady McCoy Shady McCoy. You fell off. He's not discussion. I think he is. I think is still Phil. He's GonNa have a hard time making it but there's a pretty strong argument that he was like the second best running back last decade. I completely forgot he was on the chiefs. I'd bill bill for over. She would too. I would get a conversation to. Would you put P. Caroline No. I don't know where the bar is coaches. I just haven't thought it is. It is tough to. But everyone's always hate on Pete Carroll. I just think he's Times would you. He put him over guys like Mike Shanahan and Mike Holmgren I. There's so many no but I would. I would argue. That more coaches should be put into the hall whom the fact that we the weight referred Jimmy Johnson. This long is absurd to me totally absurd all right. Let's Good Conversation Gus. Really Fun before we get out of here. Let's hit the mail L. Back. Let's do a few questions. I'm ready so good all right. What is from Eric Jensen? What is the current music of choice on the heroes is as playlist and will include a conscious? Well right now and I made this very clear on a private text to some of our closest friends this morning that I'm very into the nineteen ninety eight Madonna album album ray of light specifically the single the power of goodbye. That's what I'm all about good album I get in a you brought rap snacks. Well yeah so I'll do. I'll do a rapper Again shout out to my husband who is a producer a rapper that he produced. I is playing the slight concert in Miami this week channel trace also. He's an commercial. That's the name. His name's channel trace race. And if you've been watching the playoff games they've been doing these apple commercials where they do like slow motion sell fees. It's a song that they made the Lady's face that's channel trace race. That's my husband. Pretty set donald trace check it out residual every time that that commercial gets on. Let's just say Lenny's eaten. Well yes up for you greg. You like rap. I do you like a lot of other things. I've been listening a lot of high. I women lately which is like a country woman. High Music Women Band unless until out of men or women. Multiple women like us supergroup sort of copy of their highway men which was like country music. I love the Highwayman see there you go buy. Oh you did anything that you're spinning. I like to Have my favorite relaxant put on some jazz music and Cook lately the BUENAVISTA Social Club album has been like it's getting a lot of run can't go wrong mark. I don't have a playlist. I know I know that makes me absurd. I just I don't involve myself with it. We'll Brinson asks who is on the Twitter Council. This is good that we'll ask us because this came up recently the idea the during the playoffs officers too many people tweeting relentlessly about the same game and we need a council to decide. who gets the tweet in these high profile spots it's will is on the council? Meena I think is on the couch and by the way that Claybon but forget about now now that I'm thinking about got it. Forget about this first lady. Sportscenter is the President of sports twitter. "He's he's the greatest of all time, my opinion, and it was a little. I know when you look while he played a half against the eagles, he's rubbing her face in it, but I don't think so. Sometimes Bella check will take a game that were, you know that in the preseason that you played against another team and he'd want to win that game to send a message. For later in the year, he actually would. So preseason at times matters to to Bill. And obviously this was one of the times and they jumped all over. You know. I was talking about the golden age of quarterbacks. Obviously, we have a situation now where there's five hall of famers Brady breeze ban who the other two Rogers, and I don't care what anybody says Russell Wilson. Yeah, he's great. So these are my hall of famers that I currently believe or playing. And then I think there's four guys who will get a bunch of votes, Philip rivers, ally manning Cam Newton and Matt Ryan, they'll get votes. Sure. Okay. So that's nine guys who are hall of famers or maybe hall of famers. And then I think there's also three guys in the league right now who are really unique talents but are coming off injuries, and those would be Carson Wentz to Shawn. Watson Andrew luck. We've seen them at their best in their scary. Oh yeah. Now now we're up to twelve guys. Then I would say there's three more guys in the league did I think have the right coach for their skill set Garoppolo cow, Shanahan, Goth, McVeigh, car Gruden. Now we're up to fifteen. Okay, rob, there's never been a time in my life for half the league was special at quarterback. Is it rules? Is it talent? Is it high school coaching? What? What is it? I think I think that's amazing. Stat. First of all, I mean, the guys you mentioned they will be in the hall of fame, you know, a lot of those guys get vote, right? Oh, there's no question. And I think I think today these guys workout so much, you're bringing up the seven on seven leagues and things like that. Maybe that is helping to develop quarterbacks. I remember Brady being such a young quarterback, but he would work out every day by himself six in the morning to make himself strong to make himself better. And you know, so maybe his talent didn't start that way, but he made himself great, so great coaching can make can make quarterbacks better. I also think there's something to be said, offensive coordinators now get the most money. So you know how certain like people used to box in America. And now there's a lot of money and you don't have to. Get your head beat in. So boxing's not quite as popular in football coaching, right? The money is now on the offensive side, the offensive genius, always the office, Sean McVeigh. So what's happening is a lot of these young coaches, a lot of these smart guys, they're moving to the offensive side because that's where the money's at you by the bigger house, you get the bigger salary. And I do feel like in the league is rewarding them saying you can't hit anybody..

I've sitting there last night and I'm thinking that never been never been a moment in my life where I get to choose what I want to watch. I can watch docs independence. I can watch movies I can watch shows. I'm watching British stuff, two nights ago. I never had access to that British. I had a British mom who would watch British TV. I didn't have access to that and I'm watching football over the last week when I'm on vacation and I'm like, Andrew luck plays tonight. Lamar Jackson's plan tonight. And a one of them's already been established. It's pretty good. And the other one is exciting could be good, and I'm thinking, do we do? We kind of get what's going on now and football. Like the last week I've been watching all these puppies play Baker mayfield's like twenty years old and Sam darnold, Josh Rosen, and I'm watching all these guys play in the Mark Jackson and the kid up Josh Allen in buffalo. And I'm thinking myself. Holy God. Think about what we have in the league. Right now, we have five hall of famers and all of them still have years left Brady breeze. Ben Rogers, Russell Wilson don't argue he is five hall of famers with a lot of years left. We have four guys who will get hall of fame votes ally. A lot of people think he'll get in Cam Newton. I criticize him MVP all-time great running quarterback still has five years left. He gonna get votes, Matt, Ryan, five, six years left this pace gonna get votes, and Philip rivers going to get a lot of votes. So we're nine in four absolute hall of famers and certainly with a lot of years left gonna get votes. Oh, wait, wait. There's three more guys that are three of the most talented guys have ever watched. They're just coming off injuries. Carson Wentz to Shawn. Watson Andrew luck enough. I said with any of them seven more years of their best football, they would be hall of famers. Kate do the math now five, four. I'm twelve in. That's forty percent of the leak. Then there's three other guys right now who have shown us in this now league where having an offensive coach with the rule changes, joy really elevate you. There's three other guys who at their best so far at Blois away, Goth McVeigh Shanahan Garoppolo of never lost together and Derek Carr, and Jon Gruden if he can get it ramped up here after taking a decade off, I'm at fifteen. That's half the league. That's half the league is a hall of Famer will get votes, spectacular hall of fame talent, often injury and three young guys who look like they're hall of fame talents with the coaches they're aligned with. I'm not even counting anybody in this draft class, and if you look at the history of draft glasses, when five quarterbacks go in the first round, one's gonna pop, not five or four, but at least one and probably to pop. And if they get the right coach, eight, nine year stretch their hall of famers I sit around and I watched this stuff. Andrew luck tonight, Lamar Jackson, Baltimore, Indianapolis, and I'm watching football, and I'm thinking between the rules, the coaching, the spacing, the quarterback camps, the seven on seven stuff at the high school level, the spread offense in college football. We've never had a time this good. I go back to an era that everybody always talks about Elway Marino. Oh. The eighties, late eighties. All right. You had Elway and Marino and you had Joe Montana, Jim Kelly and Warren Moon. Those five guys were good hall of fame guys, the drop off..
