"How good is their starting pitching, matched up against great teams in the postseason. So we'll definitely be keeping an eye on them. All right, I've got four developments in recent days that I want you to rank in order of postseason relevance, okay? Number one, the Yankees continued to win. They're 39 and 15. Number two, the world champion Atlanta Braves have had their first real winning streak having swept the rockies. The angels continue to lose every day. It's remarkable how this team is utterly collapsed and number four, the Phillies haven't lost since they fired their manager Joe Girardi replacing him with interim rob Thompson. Which one of those four? And we're going to cover all these. Which one of those four is most important for you in terms of postseason relevance? Are you going to yell at me when I do this? I'm going to. I'm going to start right now. All right, well, the number one thing for me is the Yankees winning. I think the Yankees pitching is maybe not as good as it's been lately, but it's really good buster. I told you, I sat down with Aaron Boone in spring training. I ran through his starting rotation. I got to the 5th starter and I said, Nestor Cortez, he's the 5th guy, right? Booty looked at me like 5th guy. He's going to make the all star team. This was in March. And Nestor's been like the best pitcher in the American League so far. It's been unbelievable. So I really like where they're pitching buster. They went, they went three games and allowed a total of 6 hits in three games. Granted against the tigers who are not a good offensive team. Point is severino's back, tie owns really good Montgomery pitches pretty well almost every time out, Kohl's is good at pictures there is in the league and Cortez might be the Cy Young winner so far after two months. After two months. So I really like their pitching, so I'm gonna put the Yankees winning as the number one story that has postseason relevance. And they're on a pace at 39 and 15, the third of the way through the season to win a 117 games. That's how well they're playing. And Tim, what I like from the Yankees perspective is that, yeah, they're not a perfect team, even though they have this great one loss record. And the issues that they have potentially, you know, if they decide to move on beyond Joey Gallo and decide to flip him back out into the marketplace and replace him because maybe he's not a great fit for New York or Aaron hicks. You know, or maybe they decide they want to have an option to upgrade their offensive catcher. The great thing from the Yankees perspective is those are all really fixable problems. Like if you decide you're the Yankees, look, this is a great team, but we want to try to upgrade with Gallo. You can call the Kansas City Royals about Andrew Andrew Ben and tendi. And that moving forward to me is a really important factor with this team. Do you agree? Oh, I totally agree. The problems are fixable in what we are in field defense buster is so much better. I don't care what anyone says. Whoever you put behind the plate is an upgrade over anything they had last or Gary Sanchez last year. Rizzo every day at first, labor and second is where he belongs, of course, kind of falafel is a very good defensive shortstop and Josh Donaldson at third when he's right. He's good there too. And I've seen it buster a hundred times in all the years I've covered when a pitcher has faith. If I put it in the grass here, something good's going to happen. They throw strikes and good things happen. That's what's happened to the Yankees pitching staff this year. They're really good. And their supremely confident, at least in the infield, the ball is going to get caught behind him. All right, braves, angels, Phillies. Where do we go next? I'm going braves next buster. You know, we can't forget that on August 6th last year they were under 500. And then they took off and won the World Series. They just have a way of finding that gear when they need it. And again, no Freddie Freeman that's gonna hurt, but Matt Olsen starts swinging again, Acuna junior in a home or after going 17 games without one. I think they're pretty darn good. I'm not saying they're not gonna beat the mets in that division, but they can make the playoffs. So I'm gonna say the braves are the number two team on this list to have postseason expectations. "Who would have thought two months ago that Cortez would be stepping up and doing what he's doing, that's been a phenomenal story. But that's part of the fun of the game and the season, right? I mean, all winter long, you know, we watch other than the lockout last year, but normally, you know, we watch all these teams put together their rosters. We look at it on paper and we make our evaluations and then a season starts and usually the season shows us that even if we think we're very knowledgeable and smart about baseball, it shows us we're wrong on many different occasions. Continually does. And Nestor Cortez has been a wonderful addition. Garrett Cole hasn't been as good as hoped he's been a little better lately. Luis severino needs around in the form, but this Yankees team, I like it. I like the shuffling with the raster Brian cashman did. Isaiah kinder falafel and Josh Donaldson on left side of the infield. Especially counter for laffa. Catcher Jose trevino. What they've done is they still have too many strikeouts in their lineup. I think Brian, which in October tends to get the teams. But judge is having a phenomenal year and they have mixed in some guys with good on base percentages. You're like kind of falafel. As opposed, I thought the last few years, they didn't have enough contact guys in their lineup and they couldn't get guys on base. So they were getting solo homers and a lot of strikeouts. This is a more well rounded team. I think they're in it for the long haul. This is the best Yankees team I feel in the last 5 or 6 years. Scott looking for an answer in 60 seconds. You know the radio business. Irrespective of Lee situations and league politics. How long will it take for the a's to wind up in Las Vegas? Yeah, I mean, that seems inevitable, doesn't it? There's so much tradition at all fun. I mean, I really hate to see things like that happen, but Oakland has been unable to get financing for a new stadium. For about the last 20 years or more and things don't look good now and they've had a nice small contingent of fans, even as much they get ripped for no attendance. They've had 12, 13, 15,000 fans. And that's even shrunk. Now, even the loyalists are frustrated. So I don't know. It seems like we're reaching a point of push coming to shove real soon, Brian. $73 billion in assets Carlyle runs about $300 billion Let's talk a little bit about the state of credit today You mentioned global credit generally has grown you've grown your platform to $73 billion as of the end of 2021 That's about two X what it was four years ago And it's one of Carlisle's fastest growing segments tell us a little bit about what you're doing in terms of fundraising and how much of this is performance related Well you can't raise what I've learned is you can't raise money without performance So one figure one begets the other I would say that what we're want to do is I think the thing that's really important is we build a platform A lot of people say why does scale matter Well scale matters because it allows you to take advantage of the best opportunities on a global basis So we want to be scalable so that we can do any transaction that we want to do globally period And that was the goal of getting to scale 70 billion 80 billion 90 billion You're in the snack bracket where you can do any transaction you want and being very selective What did that also leads to is that each successor fund more people want to participate So that is an ongoing growth trajectory that we just deal with If you have poor performance well guess what People don't want to participate in your funds So far touch wood in the 6 years that I've been involved our performance has been I think very good But the most important thing and I said this before is that were there to deliver an expected exposure into somebody's portfolio Consistent and persistent through time And that is something you demonstrate over time And so far I think with the team that's there which is excellent by the way They have been delivering those returns over the past 6 years even through the pandemic which is really important I think the next 12 to 24 months we're going to have some challenges Everybody's going to have challenges But I think the portfolios are well positioned for that But what it also means is when we talk to our investors is they need to invest capital That doesn't stop just because the markets.
