The reverend Markel Hutchins himself a one time critic of police says if police community relations will improve, the answers will not just be printed. In the ink of a piece of legislation. Instead, it has to be done face to face. I haven't met one person that says, hey, I want to be unsafe. While this effort is focused on engagement through neighborhood faith groups, D.C. police chief Robert Conti says he's seen relations with activists improve in recent years, even among critics who have been younger and less religious. We have to be flexible in that space and not take a cookie cutter approach to the various communities that we serve because they are different in some respects in downtown D.C., John dome in WTO P news. 'Big Trouble Ahead' Author Allen Jackson and Eric Discuss the Madness

"Talking to my friend pastor Allen Jackson of world outreach church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where I've had the privilege to be many times. I know I'll be there in mid September. He has a new book out brand new called big trouble ahead, a real plan for flourishing in a time of fear and deception. I think the madness that we're experiencing. And there's no other word for it. I mean, it's absolute madness in every direction, it is a spiritual battle, it is a satanic war on truth and we're seeing it in every way. But the good news is the lord is allowing it to wake up a holy remnant. And to not just wake up a holy remnant, but to find people who didn't have faith who now see things are so crazy, there has to be an answer. Is there a God? Where do I turn? And they're seeing Christians like you, call things as they are. And they're saying, that's right. I wouldn't have I wouldn't have said so before, but I see it now. The craziness makes me want to know, is there a standard of truth? And ultimately, that's the answer and in your book, big trouble ahead, you talk about that. Well, it seems to me that evil will always overplay its hand. You can observe that in nature a disease process will destroy its host. An evil will destroy what it touches. And we're watching that. It's come to the point of the absurd. And in that, there's an opportunity to stand up and then to begin to align ourselves with the truth. How did we arrive at a place where we're unwilling and public to define what a woman is, when we're electing people to some of the most are selecting people for some of the most powerful offices in the land. We didn't get there in a week or a month. I think we got there by winking at immorality long ago. We said fornication really wasn't a problem. And we took all sorts of we took down the sexual boundaries that God gave us.

Was Trump's Vaccine Decision a Mistake?

"So I want to address what Tony said, Tony has said, and I'm posing it to you listeners if you want to call in and disagree with Tony. Tony said his hypocritical for us to be so upset about the vaccine and the vaccine injuries and all that stuff. And that Donald Trump, through operation warp speed, takes responsibility for developing the vaccine. Now, my disagreement with Tony is simple. It's that Trump didn't mandate the vaccine. That's the problem. Like if people wanted to voluntarily take a vaccine that was experimental and with knowing that it may have some issues with it and they wanted to take it anyway, then that's on you. That's just like any other vaccine. But the mandating of an experimental vaccine is a problem. And I said it this way, I believe Trump was acting a good faith putting together a team to get people vaccinated because Trump believes in vaccines.

WHY Biden Is Performing Worse Than Any President in Modern History

"Fascinating. He is doing so poorly. And the reason I suspect is because, look, people didn't sign up for this. They thought, okay, we'll get rid of the drama, right? A lot of independence. A lot of independents felt very strongly that they just want to know more drama in The White House and thus they voted for Joe Biden without real thought in terms of what would it mean for our policy? And whether or not he really had the leadership chops to be able to accomplish what needs to be done there in the Oval Office, so I don't think that people were entirely aware in some ways of what they might be getting, but they thought, hey, you know how bad going to be, right? Because we had been doing pretty well economically, actually we were doing the best that we ever had. We were seeing a peaceful situation as well on the international front. And while we had challenges, which have continued to be augmented, certainly at the border, we kind of were on cruise control in a way. And now the cruise control is over, and they're saying, wait, what's different? How did this happen? This was supposed to be the guy that wasn't offensive to anybody, but certainly wasn't going to really screw things up. And I think there's an opinion out there in America, certainly judging by these poll numbers that he really did screw things up, and so consequently, there's no faith. And he didn't have the base to begin with, right? He didn't have that sort of Uber aggressive base that say a Bernie Sanders might have had. The socialists want to take over the country. He didn't have that. So for the base, he's not left enough, and for those in the middle, he's out there in left field in a way that makes him feel rather disengaged from the day to today activity that needs to happen to run the country. And so I think there's a belief in a feeling that he's just not up to the job.

Eric at the YAF Convention: Freedom Requires Virtue

"The golden triangle of freedom says that liberty or freedom or self government requires virtue. Now you think this is a seminal idea if you've got a classical Christian school or just any really good school with a faith foundation, probably you know this, right? That freedom requires virtue. But that's certainly not being taught in the public schools. That has been true since all of the founders understood this 250 years ago. This is not like optional. This is basic. You don't need to be an evangelical Christian to understand this. You could be an enlightenment rationalist like Franklin or Jefferson, anybody. They all understood that what they were talking about, what they were proposing, liberty, freedom, self government, requires virtue. They further understood freedom requires virtue, virtue requires faith and then faith in turn requires freedom. So let me explain this. You sort of understand this intuitively, but we need to really understand what we mean by this. So freedom requires virtue. Every one of the founders without any exception, you need to understand, this is just history. This is not like Christian history. This is history. Every one of the founders knew that this crazy idea that people are going to govern themselves for the first time ever, it requires people of virtue. Now, it doesn't mean every single person is going to be a person of virtue, but it means a culture of virtue, a citizenry that's fundamentally virtuous. They understood this that this is not optional. This is not extra credit. If you do not have a virtuous citizenry, you do not get self government. You can not have liberty. You can't.

Richard Baris and Charlie Discuss the Radicalization of Gen X

"It seems that there's this interesting demographic phenomenon. I want to explore with you Richard, it's happening across the country, which is the radicalization of gen X, where you just articulated something that baby boomer 70 plus, they tend to be more establishment Republican or comfortable with Joe Biden. Now, we're going to get a slew of emails, by the way. Charlie, I'm 70 8 and I hate Joe Biden. Yesterday. No, I know. But I do think it's demographically interesting. We never talked about this before, rich, that gen X, so think about Josh hawley that is Ron DeSantis, right? That's Donald Trump Jr. that's Tom cotton, that's Ted Cruz. That's gen X. They're kind of right in that middle group. They're not necessarily super young. They're definitely not baby boomers. But gen xers are people that have kids that are anywhere between 5 years old to 18 years old. They're becoming super right wing in more ways than one. Not only that, but in primaries, they are demanding and they are voting for the more conservative candidate. Is that correct, rich? Yeah, and if you look, we did by generation, Charlie, by age, Arizona is a great state for that. So is Florida, so is Texas. So is Nevada, by the way. You know, the bottom line is because we've asked this before and I really think what it comes down to is and we got those emails as well. And I understand if you have a mom or you are that age group and you voted for Carrie Lake, I'm not saying there's not going to be supporters in that age group. I'm saying we're talking about margins, statistics, polling. But the bottom line is the older voters. Tend to have this idea, Charlie, that how could I put this? They tend to have like faith still in authority and they grew up in this more stable America. And they have this view where you would ask them, you know, how bad do things can get. And they would say, you know, it's America in the end, things are going to be okay. That's how they talk to us, right? Whereas the younger generation, the younger generation is like, look, I have to live the rest of my life. And this is 30 40 years we can't survive this.

The Single Most Important Lesson Enrique 'Ric' Prado Learned

"Single most important thing in my life, as far as lessons go. What is my father? My father had a 7th grade education, but he was extremely smart, incredible craftsman, and he had a faith that is uncomfortable with any of us. And imagine I am an only child. I find that all the best people are. I happen to be an only child as well. Well, yeah, but the point here is that my dad was willing to put me on an airplane. To a country that he had never been to. At what age, how old were you, Rick? I was ten years old when I got on that plane. And what, what year is this? This is 1962, April of 1960. This is one of the Peter Pan flights. That is correct. I am a Peter Pan. So a country your father's never been to before. So why does he put you on that plane Rick? Freedom. My dad knew he had never read Marx or Lenin, but he had definitely had the heart of a lion and he knew what freedom was. He knew what we needed to fight for it. And of course, that fight was one already to the enemy. But that decision opened up my eyes to the value and the sacrifices made for freedom.

Greg Laurie Had an Interesting Encounter With Kris Kristofferson

"I'm talking to pastor Greg Laurie, who is writing books, making films, they haven't seen you at church in years. What's going on with you, man? Are you back? No, listen, this is exciting. The new book is a Lennon Dillon Allison Jesus, the spiritual biography of rock and roll. I want to talk to you about the film, the new film. But before that, in your book, do you mention Chris christofferson? Because obviously he's not really thought of as a rockstar. But I know he's somebody that came to faith at some point. Yeah, I do actually talk about him. I also wrote about him in my book, Johnny, on Johnny Cash. Funny thing you talk about recognizing celebrities. So I was working on this documentary film about Johnny, and I watched some interviews with Chris that were more recent. So I flew out, came back to LAX. I'm walking to my car. I see this guy from the back and somehow I recognize him from the back. From the back. See, that's next level crazy stuff. That's like, that's like Holy Spirit stuff. Flesh and blood is not capable of recognizing somebody from the back, you're telling me you're not kidding from the back, you said, I think that's Kris Kristofferson. Yeah. So I walked over and I said, oh, Chris, and Greg Laurie, I've written this book and I held up my Johnny Cash book, and I said, and I quote you in the book, Chris, and I'd love to send you a copy. He gave me his address. I sent it. He wrote me back. And said he was going to read it. He was very nice men

Greg Laurie Discusses the Faith Journey of John Lennon

"To my friend pastor Greg Laurie of harvest church in Southern California, the author of many books, the new one is called Lennon Dylan Alice and Jesus spiritual biography of rock and roll. So Greg, you're sharing some fascinating stuff that John Lennon called in, I mean, I had heard that he was watching Christian TV kind of hanging out in the Dakota during this strange period in the 70s kind of raising his son there just being a house husband and watching Christian TV and that he called up Billy Graham's whatever called up the number on the screen and professed faith in Christ and then you said wrote about it in his diary. Yeah, I wrote about his new film faith in his diary and he recorded two Christian songs. If you go to YouTube and Google John Lennon comet Christian songs, you'll find that they were rough songs, one almost made it on his final album, a double fantasy. But even a double fantasy, you can see him beginning to soften. He writes in his song beautiful boy about his sunshine before you go to sleep, see a little prayer every day and every way gets better and better. John was changing. Now, here's a tragedy, and we all know that. John was murdered by Mark David Chapman. And so I begin this book with this statement. There'll be three surprises when we get to heaven. Number one, some of the people we thought would be there won't be there. Number two, some of the people we never thought would be there will be their number three, we will be there. So here's my premise on John Lennon, because I wasn't there at that moment. He did survive the shooting. They put him in the back of a police car and rushed him to the hospital. The officer asked him, do you know who you are? John did if in the final moments of his life, John called out to the Jesus. He professed faith in his prayer would have been heard just as surely as Jesus heard the prayer of the thief on the cross. So

Greg Laurie Explores Faith in 'Lennon, Dylan, Alice, & Jesus'

"Listen, this book is exciting to me, Greg. And you have written you've written many books, you're an evangelist. You're at harvest church in Orange County. But you write about the lives of people and their intersection with faith in Jesus. So this one Lennon Dylan Alice and Jesus, I just read a whole book talking about the spiritual Bob Dylan, the spiritual side of him. And it seems so clear that he still is a believer in Jesus. He doesn't talk about it the way he used to. But that do you cover that in the book? Yeah, I have a whole chapter on bob and you know, that's exactly my premise. I've heard it said that we'll Dylan abandoned his Christian faith, and returned to his Jewish roots. Well, he is Jewish. But he did not abandon his Christian faith. The fact that I just read a review of his recent concert Dylan never stopped touring is on the road constantly. He's playing this song, got his service somebody from slow train coming, which is an overt Christian song. And as another newer song that he's written, that is very much a faith song. So, you know, bob came under such attack when he came out publicly as a Christian. I don't know if he just got tired of all the drama and controversy, but I don't see that he ever stopped believing what he was saying. Not that long ago he did a Christmas record of all things above Dylan Christmas record and sing those old songs just as you would expect. Bob Dylan to sing them, but at the same time, one interviewer said, using those songs as though you believe them, he says, I do.

Why Would You Keep Your Child in Public Schools?

"I read to you last hour a report from the national education association annual meeting that just took place this month. The true sickness that pervades the teachers profession. I would like to ask everyone who believes in traditional American, let alone judeo Christian values, and was a child in a school, public or private. Unless it's a charter school or a religious school or a public school whose values they know are not nihilistic. Why, why do you keep your child there? Are you just betting it won't affect your child? It's quite a bit to make.

"If you really want children to say preferred pronouns, fine. But we have nothing in common at that point. You want to, you don't think you want to, but you do want to hurt children. You think you want to do something good. What is the good you are achieving, however? Do you really want to confuse 5 year olds or for that matter 15 year olds? About whether they are a boy or a girl, if this thing is real, why has it never been real in history? Has the left discovered a truth about the human condition that nobody knew about for all of history, the greatest minds the greatest scientists, the greatest thinkers in history, didn't know about this, but the left in America today does, do you believe that garbage? Nonsense? Wow. They discovered something nobody knew about.

"Is writing about attending the national education association convention last week. If you don't understand that, there is an irreparable divide in this country. This this should convince you. By the way, if you, if you think there is irreparable divide, that somehow or other left and right can. Just come together because you would like that to happen and who wouldn't like that to happen. What you're doing is you are allowing wishful thinking to dominate rational thinking. The left is sick, it is sick to tell children that they are not a boy or a girl, but just what they prefer to be. Do you understand sick if sick applies to anything? Then it applies to this, but this is now dominant. This is the national education association. It is a child abuse group. It is the national child abuse association.

What Is a Blessing, and What Is a Curse?

"It's hard to even imagine anybody saying it, and it's hard to imagine anybody who heard it, not thinking the person was out of his mind. They're so little perspective on what is a blessing and what has a curse, it is part of the sick world of the left. They don't know what is a blessing and they don't know what has a curse. They don't know that America has been largely a blessing certainly in the recent past in the last half century. It has been a blessing, not a blessing for blacks when they were slaves or under Jim Crow, not a blessing for a Native Americans. I fully acknowledge that. But since those things were universal, wars of people coming into new places by against people already living there, and since it is since slavery was universal, the issue in judging America is not to compare it to everybody else who did the exact same thing is to compare it to everybody else when we did something very different. Make the freest country in the history of the human race. Yeah, that's it. That's a very big deal. And that was done here. When you don't know what is a blessing, including fossil fuel, including freedom, your there's something wrong with you, something profoundly wrong. So some reflections on the comfort in which I am sitting in a rather warm place. Florida. In July, California globe has a very scary article. A teacher attended the national education association convention last week. Brenda lebs and I would like to have her on the show. Because the number of teachers, she's a California teacher, former school board member, who writes Brenda for kids, the number four. This originally appeared in the daily signal. I'm going to look that up, Brenda for kids. Yes. Well, amazing stuff here. Listen to this. As a teacher, I attended the national education association convention last week, and my worst fears were confirmed. Public schools are no longer a safe place for families who hold traditional values or for families who believe gender as in male female binary is biologically determined. Do you know that 5 years ago certainly ten years ago, that sentence would have been incomprehensible? To Americans, public schools are no longer a safe place for families who believe in the male female binary. It wouldn't even know what binary is about, and they would say, wait a minute. Public schools are not safe for families that believe that the human race is divided between male and female. You got to be kidding. It was also evident that the teachers union is lobbying arm of the Democratic Party. The NEA seems to think there are many gender options, and that's why teachers and students must always address themselves with their preferred pronouns. It thinks this pronoun practices essential and will create a more inclusive society. So I have to ask you once again. This comes up almost daily. If you have a child or grandchild in a public school, and they go the preferred pronoun way, teaching your 5 year old, that whether you're a he or a she is just a preference, there's nothing objectively true or accurate about it. Why would you keep your child in such a school? And the only answer is it's convenient. And I don't put that down. I mean, deeply convenient because it's very good chance both parents work. So you might think, how can I homeschool? However, if your child turns out to be an idiot, to be morally and personally confused and profoundly depressed because life is chaotic, then you will say, I should have done something.

Why Do People Prefer the South Over the North?

"So I have a reflection as I often do on this whole issue. Of heat, the south has been a boom place in America for the last half century. Vast numbers of Americans have moved two southern states for good reason. The people are nicer, is one good reason. The weather is certainly nicer. People prefer warmth to cold, as a general rule. Interesting though, with all the talk about heat, people prefer heat the cold, people die from cold, far more than they die from heat. And what made all of this possible? Is something called air conditioning, one of the miracles of the modern period in which we live. And, of course, air conditioning, which is made habitation in the south, year round possible, in not just possible, desirable, is far more movement from the north to the south in the United States than from the south to the north in the United States. Correct, so people obviously prefer it here.

When Orlando Magic's Jonathan Isaac Got Serious About His Faith

"At some point, you got serious about your faith. How old were you when, you know, because a lot of people say like, oh, I grew up in the church or whatever. But your faith is very important to you. When did that happen for you? So I grew up in the church as well, but it wasn't something for me that was tangible or real. It was just tradition. It wasn't until I got to the NBA and got to experience everything that I thought I wanted and needed and found that unsufficient. And then through a crazy story of circumstances and God really making himself real to me. I was able to really profess faith in Christ and it's so many people are intricate into doing it and that's why book is available. All right, so your faith becomes real to you. And that's usually what it takes to have this courage, or for many people that it's one thing to say, I'm a Christian, or I believe in this, or I believe in that. But to have the courage to stand up when the pressure, not to stand up. In this case, literally, to Neil, is just tremendous.

"faith" Discussed on Knowing Faith

"Podcast it was. We'll hear it turn life, not just in a quantitative sense, like a chronological sense, but in a qualitative sense that the glory of God is our greatest hope, and that we will get to enjoy his mercies, his perfections and his excellencies forever and his Paul tells us elsewhere that this is an unfading hope. This is not a hope that could be relinquished in some sense. And the reason it's unfading is because we did nothing to earn it and we could do nothing to lose it that we've been sealed with the promises of God by the Holy Spirit of what's been accomplished for us through the work of Christ. It's now ours, and that is a hope, maybe to lead us into verse three a little bit that also can endure sufferings. I love one of the things that Paul is doing here as he's saying, this unfading hope that's yours in Christ because of the power of the Holy Spirit, enjoying you. But it's not like this cheesy Christian victory, you know, everything's fine. Paul also gives us a real picture that this hope is what leads us through sufferings. And so in versus three and following, he says, not only do we rejoice in this hope versus two, but we also rejoice in our sufferings and that for me has been one of those against my life first. I'm not putting that on the coffee mug. But man, the dark knights of the soul, when life is hard challenging difficult, it's a real, it's a picture of the real Christian life that not only do your joys and hope, but rejoice in our sufferings, and then he goes on to say, suffering produces endurance endurance produces character and character, produces hope. And I've actually preached on this passage before and has a steady dad just realized in a way that I wish wasn't true if I'm being honest. I wish this wasn't true. Suffering is what produces the muscle of Christian faith. You know, it's one of those things that as you suffer, if you don't suffer, your faith deteriorates in a way. Not that you're not that the hope deteriorates, but you have nothing to believe upon. But if you've walked through a season of suffering before, you realize, oh my goodness, this is creating a spiritual muscle in me that I need that I need to do that I need to grow in. And that's what Paul's talking about here. Because this hope will never put us to shame. And so I want to even that move us away from the text for a second, but has there ever been a personal story for you guys or a season of life where you realized goodness? I have this hope that's unfading. I'm also walking through a season of suffering and it's producing something in me that perhaps I didn't have before this suffering came. Yeah, oh, yeah. You know, I've talked a little bit on here just about some of the unique circumstances of my life and home..

That we have peace with god now as a result of what god has done means at one time we didn't. I mean that what you're asking. Yeah one time we were at enmity with god. Yeah so peace. With god is a benefit and peace with god like the righteousness of god itself is an alien benefit. Meaning doesn't like come from us. It said a calvin called the righteousness of christ right an alien righteousness righteousness outside of self. It's not something that god merely produces within us by virtue of a co being conformed into the obedience of christ. It's something that's given to us. And now is the foundation of that obedience. The god invites us into peace with god works. The same peace with god isn't just a feeling that increases in as much as we follow god peace with god is a legal and foundational reality that now is the bedrock you just. The righteousness cannot be removed. Peace with god can no longer be removed. There's been a designation change status change well and it's not just that that that's a beautiful idea in in and of itself but i think also we've seen paul continue to make this tight connection between faith and obedience and what obedience is when we obey..

"Since we have been justified by faith we have peace with god defining justification through vertical relationship and they're actually saying justification and they're not entirely wrong. Here is actually a horizontal thing of jew gentile relationships entering into this relationship through what jesus has done which makes them to one new man one new church. That's a really nailed that summation that's really i mean. Just so you know it tells me yeah. It's it's a very technical conversation. That was a really good summary. Justification is crucial for us to understand because again this is how we are made righteous and apart from the the gifting and the receiving of this righteousness of god there can be no fellowship with god. There can be no communion with god there can be no salvation and there can be no more peace with god that peace with god cannot exist between righteousness and unrighteousness. And so let's pause here because it's not just that we have been justified. We've been justified by faith by faith. The the old theologian called faith. I love this talking. About what role does faith play in our salvation. Well it's the instrument of our salvation. Faith receives everything from the work of christ and contributes nothing to it Symptoms we'll talk about the instrumentality of faith so this idea of we've been justified by faith. It doesn't mean that faith. Actualize is something that god could not provide on his own. It means faith is the mechanism. Guide gives us in order for us to be able to receive what god is going to give us through faith. Faith is a gift. It's a gift that god gives so that we can receive more of god's gifts namely the grace of salvation. Does that make sense. Yeah maybe even to use the language used. Faith does not actualize something. It's a belief in something. That's already been actualized yet. Yeah let's go see what i'm saying. Why did you call it more like an affirmation of something. That's true maybe recognition. Yeah i think the recognition. We've talked about faith before as allegiance. We want to make sure it certainly an intellectual like we could say that it has an activeness to it. Yeah verse twenty four count. It will be counted us. Who believe there's an the not looking at greek translation. I would imagine the returners pistons. Which is this idea of faith or belief. So there's a there is intellectual assent. But there's also this whole hearted life orientation now to the lordship into the kingship of jesus which means we're now his citizens and we give him everything because he's.

"He cheated. You tacked 11 on the end. I did because I realized that in my notes, I wrote one through ten, but we're covering one through 11 in this episode. So surprise surprise. We're going to ask that was my first question for you. I'm like, why are you busting it up? Everybody's looking at the headings in their Bible wondering what's going on. Exactly. It's bonus verse. It's like the bonus fries, the bottom of a McDonald's bag, you know? It would be the best one. Sure. So we're gonna be talking about justification. So let's just open up here with this. What is justification? Kids, Martin Luther said, justification by faith is the article by which the church stands or falls. So if it's that crucial and now Luther was prone to over emphasis, I'll say, but this is a very crucial doctrine. We can't miss it, what is it? Wait, you don't get to start there, Kyle. Oh no, why not? Because for the first word in chapter 5 verse one is important. Okay. The word is therefore, therefore, therefore. Thanks, JT. I'm so glad you asked. Also, I just like to point out this is not a room full of people who's ever prone to overemphasis of anything. So basically, why are we even talking about justification by faith here? It's because we just had a conversation about Abraham believing and being credited to him as righteousness. And so now Paul is pulling that idea forward to you and me, he's saying, hey, this is how it worked for Abraham. And there's an implication of that that all of us as believers need to understand. Okay, I'm done. Go ahead. Doctor. Yeah, doctor justification. And it's crucial, right? Because Paul has introduced it in four as the solution to the problems of chapters one through three. Right, right, right. Like, listen, things are really bad. No one is righteous. No not one. No one seeks after God. Okay, well hold on, because in Romans won 16 through 17, Paul has said, I'm not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for Salvation to everyone who believes. Remember, we talked about this as the thesis statement..

"So i do think you see all of those dimensions with faith and belief but i think you're note. Jt about the effect show cough selfish. And what makes faith act. Or what makes salvation actually actualized is the work of god. A three is the old theologian called faith. Faith faith the instrument of our salvation. He said it draws everything from the work of christ and contributes nothing to it The industry mentality of faith is that it is receptive. It's open hands but it's not seizing of the gift. "Because the church in rome they know some of these things already and paul's trying to move them towards allegiance to them to obedience to them So and sometimes you hear this talked about. His gospel. Indicative gospel imperatives. Like paul. kind of tells you who you are. And then he tells you what to do. He does a little bit romans. It's not as clear as it is in like a fijian's or colossians but where the first eleven chapters of romans there's kind of unfolding of the gospel. There's a doxa logical conclusion and then in romans twelve gets into like a strong ethical perspective on on the christian life. So i do think you see all of those dimensions with faith and belief but i think you're note. Jt about the effect show cough selfish. And what makes faith act. "That paul is going to expand on in the rest of the letter and and so he he comes right out of the gate for. I'm not ashamed of the gospel. He's already mentioned a gospel but like he. He mentioned that right at the beginning. Right verse one of romans. One paul servant of christ. Jesus called to be an apostle set apart for the gospel of god and now he's going to say in verse sixteen. I'm not ashamed of the gospel so clearly part of paul's agenda for this letter. A key part of his thesis statement is the gospel. So let's just start there. What is gospel. While he's he's already addressed part of this Inverse we talked about this in our last episode versus three and four. The this is the. The gospel ultimately the gospel of god which was promised beforehand through profits the holy scriptures concerning the son of david concerning the son of god so the gospel is centered around the person and work of jesus. Christ who got is and what god is doing through jesus in order to liberate save in reconcile a people to himself and this is key for paulin romans for his glory. That god is doing this for his. Name's sake that his name would not be besmirched or mocked among the nations. But he's doing it to bring glory to himself yet. That's i think that's really good. Why why does he say. I'm not ashamed of the gospel. Isn't that a weird caveat. Like i mean. Yeah i'd love to hear your thoughts to. I'll just i'll give mine quickly. I'm not sure we've understood the gospel message until we understood that it is also a shame could be ashamed filled shameful message and by that what i mean is is you think of the first century inscriptions Like in roman prisons in walls of them. Making fun of christians of the remember. There's that that slave worshiping his god and it's a it's a donkey on a cross like what we're saying when we confess the gospel. Is that a first century. Jewish man from northern gallery is god himself that he was sent by god. The father to redeem us of our sins to save us from our sins he was he lived a perfect life. Was buried. rose raiders from rose three days later from the tomb in his now living in heaven at the right hand of god. The father in we worship him as lord. If you're in first century rome in your perhaps participating in stoic philosophy or aristoteles philosophy or the socratic method or just your your roman citizen out even interested in philosophy that is a shame full message right like that is the very thing paul kind of walk through this. Also in first corinthians when he's dealing with a jewish and greek world news as well there he says it is. Is this week gospel. That is the power of god to save in here policy He's not using the term week. He's using the shame but he's not ashamed of it because it is the thing that takes shame away but i think in a in a twenty first century American evangelical context. We can forget the very weakness of this message that is meant to also be powerful. Does that make sense. Yeah no. I think that..

"Of God are used by other people to abuse people. We go. Okay, that's dangerous. So so we're going back to your claim. That faith is dangerous. Yeah, I don't think faith is dangerous. I think faith is unavoidable. I think faith is the way that we all live in this world and we took ourselves by saying. Oh no, I'm actually I actually know this when we don't really know it but we're more comfortable with this position. We don't want to call it Faith because faith is something that other people have not me and so okay. So let's just stick on that on that knowing god thing because I think feel really comfortable saying that I know that there is no God and and the reason for that is because I I haven't I haven't seen one. I haven't heard one. I haven't experienced one. Yeah, and and also I haven't seen the god of the Old Testament the New Testament. I haven't seen the Islamic God I heard from him. I haven't seen him on the news. I haven't seen him in my dreams. I haven't I just know that there isn't one and until someone can bring me some, you know, make a strong case for it. Like I said for the Believer song. If you wish to believe that there is a God and you're sticking your whole life on them and your you know, your your your governing your life according to his precepts and this is what I would say to mrs. Jordan Peterson if you're acting as if there is a God the burden of proof is on you because you're acting as if there is a God proved to me that there is the what does he look like, but if off and I don't know, I don't know Jordan Peterson well enough or his claims well enough to really use him as a good example. But so I don't know if he's saying I know for certain that there is a God or if he's saying I have faith that there's a God because if you say I have faith that there's a God there is no burden of proof because you're admitting it's a faith claim. Okay? Yeah, I can think I can't prove it. I just okay, you know, then I'm having faith. Let's let's agree on that cuz I totally understand what you're saying. I told you get I follow there. It's a faith claim and anyone can make that Faith claim. Yeah, but I want to take it. I'm going to take a maybe just a step further because this part here dead. Is is pretty close to my heart? I realized after I left the church that it wasn't that I had faith in God. It was that I hoped there was a God there's a difference. Yeah, there's a difference because because right now I've asked myself. Why do I even hope there's a God and I think that was that was a very personal interview that I had my head with myself when I finally decided off I'm good. I'm good. I don't need to believe in a God to be adjusted person. I don't need to believe in a God or an imaginary being to live a good life. Right and and I started to ask myself that question. Why did I always hope that there was a God? Why did I want there to be a god?.

last episode but the next few weeks you've already had me tell you that when the podcast is pausing for july and august it's the summer and they'd be sharing old episodes on social media so i still want lots of goodness i mean this said a hundred and seventy nine most people wanna listen to one hundred and seventy nine states that don't worry you're not gonna like see the back of me i'm sure there's plenty of other goodness it you could you could inject however it is the law it'll be a while until we pause and when book this is gonna be the starting point next to me when i when i encourage you to think about today is the think about what is resting in him in gold rini looks like so ideally over the last few weeks if you've listened to the podcast you will if if i've done my job at least half right you will be inspired to be yulia you'll be inspired embraced show in a weird so you can make jesus ceo of human life business we talked a little bit reggie about some of the benefits of doing that we talked about the challenges of doing that but actually i wanna consider say well resting in he reads looks like it's not about helping mostly i mean they will be times things when you know god is reminding you just step back and just to be but she when you're waiting by stinging him you could still be taking action and so the writing from the today about the finish the episode and i nobody say they they end the prompt say ridi when you get to it is doing courage you just sit with gold on dream sit with god and just be and see what comes up a notch me won't resting in god looks like because they you have to come up with a certain accused of trust because you don't need to worry the god conduit but if there's something in you that goes yeah but i'm not sure i see investing in him sitting in just being is a rainy scary proposition now we talked yesterday about language yes it can be scary to let go but it could also be exciting i don't mean that kinda scary i what renaming it if we she relinquish control it can bring up all sorts of dimes and what's interesting to me is i would i would encourage you to do is just stop paying attention to what comes up when you see it going okay yeah audition today's i'm ready outplay okay go for it see what resistance comes up see what what lying and won't die somewhat half truths please come to mind invariably there's things will be areas where you need to give those most difficult is average way you feel resistance i'm not i know i would i would happen i already mentioned the britain's yesterday but that kind of stuff at the sort of stuff but we dig into it dig into you know we came mentoring kohl's iphones result of this janney you really do need the support and you really know you would benefit traci she token i buy that stuff in more detail i would invite you to go to the league britain's dot com a witness said you can do this work on you right i mean i i believe we are cool being community god is the ultimate example of community father son hanging dispirit and you i want you to have any relationship with god while you're walking moment by moment hour by hour day by day with him and at the same time notice i didn't say but when you think about it and the gates the stuff that came before it on the same time you could do this in community i you know god when he made adam adam was in the garden of eden handle these animals around demand we imagine it with his he's just a wonderful place at the garden of eden he had gone he had a relationship company have up until the full he had the closest relationship human needs speaking that we can imagine and god knew the he's still needed a companion on so sometimes there is this thing that comes up says well if i trusted gone enough then i wouldn't need to talk about it with other humans isn't the case because we don't have on speed dial we don't have goes on text message yes he will give us defined diamonds yes we do have is what i guess he will ideas and all hey but it's nice those who have community to better shea things to encourage one another i really do believe that go given gift and and something to be brace i'd say as much as as much as you can have a wonderful relationship with him and i want you to have i wanna remind you about it you don't have to do that and you're right but bringing us back to the real question of so now what what is resting in he looks like it rainy is what we kind of intimated already it is a moment by moment hour by hour day by day thing i've already said this week it's not like as if if you're gonna go okay god yossi i jumped on washing hands finished no this is this is a daily choice it's about what direction is my hot moving in i mean god knows he knows you intentions and they know love giants out fairway tone in the bible you don't need to be afraid that you're not doing it right now he knows at your intentions honorable he knows way haunted until me is a moment by moment choice being in conversation him those shop this quick short out of my mom calls when you when you have a difficult conversation sees how you don't see too full eloquent woody flowery language praise those moments no he he knows he's got god jesus alongside whispering into you dave interceding on your way home you never need to be afraid of going all out that's fine too i would say that shouldn't i shouldn't be all anytime you talked to go you don't wanna be just shooting a pilot brad that's not really relationship you wanna be moment by moment and not be eighty will not resting and he looks like if i guess it just as we roll this mini series to occasion and i do the podcast rock so so the city needs to the christmas break and i'm getting ahead of myself i know i love christmas but still as we draw the consequences the summer break i'm really wondering covered you just just sit we'd gone i came this looks like she asks us came to shame you ask him to guide you if you're not sure if you're looking for the community how asking to help you find that right community he wants to be involved in every single aspect of your life not just the big stuff i shared with you before they're not bible weight loss bible study wait us coasting was huge huge i connect me it wasn't until i did that i mean i just i loved you and i got his interest in every single intimate details of your life any it rini just moment by moment okay show me i'm going johann in his direction and see what comes up it's exciting it's liberating freeing it it releases you from the pushing on the angst that because you can't do ridiculous you can't make meticulous gone given dreams come true if you won't following the stuff that god gave you he will do it i also wanna share with you i got in front of me i happened she just this morning knows the credit confirm my kindle i made this is just a quick reminder as well is there is evidence in shave on his book grace over grind which i've mentioned before i'm gonna be paraphrasing mess but she said she said something along the lines all never let your god given dreams never networking told you a god given dreams push i spending time with got isn't exactly how he phrased it but that would be and so and so as we closed as you pass some i want to encourage you uninspired go yeah you've got these things that you're gonna do with god and then that reminder sit with him be with him rest in him i came to shave looks like and if you wanna talk about this more if you wanna have community we have got the faith in business take on for you "Playground mentoring accountability is polka help you be you happy ratio in a way that they could make jesus ceo of light on business i've my mind you don't have to do this on your rent i'm giving you writing prompt things i think we ever got just do it in your own head and then be stuck i would encourage you to come and join us in the playground a facebook group on facebook dot com forward slash groups forward slash you at christian on linked in the show and in the meantime we are considering the fact that yes letting go can be scary but it's liberating too so i already told you in this thing along lake i want i told you the story as high as a result in my own business meeting regard last week and i felt that not sure about scott rewind slightly festival god reminded me the option eight four weeks of content and i thought i needed to recode is already being done we've already talked about that the content the book once like i screwed on and crushed it and think about it and i intend to me right how we talk it will be a bit different obviously but that content already done so off the i said well you got four weeks don't forget it the next they were okay now what would i do the podcast i'm not whisper i got was stopped or more accurately pause teach in line august off now i i started this podcast almost a year ago last night i stop today in the summer holidays and i've told you before the reason why i don't i don't edging out barking dogs or things like that she can't he be oj when i was when i get myself in a little bit of a pickle i lean not in that on purpose because i i'm hoping to leads by example to give you and i will concrete example of what it looks like just show up and just to be on to brace each month if i heavily idea each episode of the podcast that would be disingenuous and it wouldn't be a true reflection of what she looks like it could be me it was a conscious decision right when i stopped the car and the says you have to say coca she recounted the seeking all my freeze that at the back of the heist because it with the farthest away points restive my household and so i sit down i could only saying then graduated to my within the pat like these days i called it a direct needs my computer using my my my so if you're listening to the beginning and you just the same quality improved the reason why however just become a year ago i chose to do it during the school holiday show that we can just nathan embraced it may just be doesn't mean that means attorney have to carry on and so there's a few different sorts of stories and asking you a different line this year i guess the first one is you don't have to keep on doing the same thing day after day after day week after week after week just because god is late something on your free time it can just be three season and then you compose and you might pose and come back to oppose install knowing god says you pose likely mean i would the podcast quite honestly my reaction was oh my goodness if i'm not gonna be doing the podcast what am i gonna do how am i gonna show up i mean might the podcast forms the basis of pretty much all my social media i shared it on instagram stories and all over the place not directly on it but it gets you know the it's the starting point so i might take assigned bikes on the podcast episode from clinton into social media it really does drawing on much of the content i share with you it's it's the refocused and me here's so my punishment such as well okay so now what i do that's kind of scary but then the next to mind was yeah it is scary but it's liberating because tommy's go one i'm not doing the podcast well scott making space for instead where the language tweet comes in because how you feel about eight situation or and event or things are happening how you feel about you and how you experience not happening is influenced very lovely obviously around the story that you teneo so another language that you used to describe the thing and so i want to encourage you to be very aware of the language on the stories that you are using i'm so this came up i think in the in the facebook group a couple of weeks ago actually way go one of the greatest that combat commented on the fact that you know it was quite well i can't remember things i was she is which one which one hesitating signed me and i don't the legend in my but it was something along the lines of it is quite overwhelming or intimidating alone remember the what she someone yet is challenging him like you know when we meet a challenging go quick song but i can be challenging it comes to something but you know what else you cannot you could meet exciting by government and if you have a nice to have you have you felt a little bit anxious sam webb simpson you'll multi on the next time you get excited when i sit in your body they kind of homeless feel the same thing i said one of the two weeks you can do is if you've stopped being you're sucking overwhelmed by all the you don't now defeating sketch yes scary but he's also meeting exciting and then i just have to feel it thanks to the way that you made your brain and the way that i'll i'll near audiology what it does feel the same has that benefited tweak and change the way that you win with the event and so i just wondering how would you mind you you have more power over the way that you experience the world and you public give yourself credit for and that's not something like ego driven thing like yeah you'll essentially well no you know like gold is gold you know as i've said said before however god made you brain that is incredible and the way that you could impact your well in the difference.

"Founder of the faith of business playground he would mentoring accountability on this pucca help you be you have been braced you're in a way that they make jesus ceo of life on business i know when they speak speak very specific we all talking about and exploring what it means and what it looks like and the challenges that we find in making jesus the ceo of her life and business i would encourage you to come and join the conversation around the pecan that happening on the facebook facebook dot com forward slash groups slash you christian entrepreneur the thread ferry called caught that said when we could dig into it more and and and talk about what comes up to you in the meantime they today's episode is called his power in our weakness i imagine if i was the poll everybody listening and say well by this comes to mind when i say that you will probably go oh yeah if you're one of a pool with a stolen who slashed of course it's gonna be that you just a few minutes a few a few i am what but it's been kind of fans chapter twelve on on tremendous let's give us seven in order to keep me from being from becoming conceited i was given a thorn in my flesh a messenger of satan to told bench me three times i cleaned it but the lord take it away from me but he said to me this is called speaking the pool mike reiss is sufficient view from my power is may pass in week pull goes on to say that i will go over more gladly about my weaknesses so the christ power may may rest on me his wife at christ's sake i did like we said in in in how it impacts acution in difficulties but when i am week than i am strong now we may know exactly exactly what postponing his flesh what some people have suggested city within eyesight i think sceptical three times whenever it was please take it and got lashley that this is the reason why this is a few things that make you wait it gives me an opportunity show you how how powerful like they i've actually got a kind of personal story about that 'cause i was familiar with this bible but 'em but i've always been a k b go i'm never gonna be skinny 'em i eat relativity nicely now like you can't do both and stuff some knows chubby it goes but it's been one of those things it's been a bit of a okay so much my life i remember standing in the shower many years ago and i i wanna say maybe seven eight years ago something like i didn't write down the date studying in the shower crime to ogden honey please just don't make any take away my greediness around food please can you just make me not only eat pretty big nice around food and i miss my stepfather crying these words i was reminded these these read the polls rates go up saying well actually i'm not gonna take it because this is my way of keeping you talking to me and around that time i came into in across the bible study that basically when i finished me i'll share with you before full but it was the first time ever the i was giving a real awareness of just have loved by god each of us off the front of his interest in every single mine you teach out of your life including what goes and you're like i said their mind drawing how much they you you can each year not be greedy you do it long on me and i did have a real impact on my relationship with god i'm so there's been a handful i feed it inside the pillsbury real but the same is true for you is why like you might not have in exactly the same story i'm not i'm sure if you reflect on those times in your life when things felt difficult it's also nice times when god has given the opportunity to show just how burning he is i shabby before the beleaguered brilliance which is my my paid membership community has been launched in a good number of different names a number of different guys is over the years and i would there were some things not quite right or something i gave up too soon or never quite did what it went today and then finally they share god's i mean you felt very cagey go get my dot now i want this to be like i know when i was completely ridiculous humidity speaking there's no reason you don't keep him in little jake business wisdom tells you in order to launch membership type a platform you need to have a knowledgeable audience i don't have a huge oregon's yanked 'em and so there's no logical reason why should do that it's ridiculous but what i'm reminded of is not going revels in the ridiculous man my weakness my justify the faith of business highground is still small is no challenge wriggled he could do the ridiculous and so this time when it goes on to grow and be successful and makes a difference i have a very clear story actually not because of me because of him and i think one of the real reasons why it works this way because human nature is when things go in easy my thing is going great we tend to get distracted we kind of forget about gold i know that call me just me and the reality is he wants to be in relationship with you that the real reason and it's not about him going all i wanna just shows how brilliant i am is his way of drawing you back him to keep reminding you and not judging you and just keep going how much i love you i wanna spend time with you and it's almost become really he remembered that we get the it wouldn't be so busy when everything's going great and so by just in situations where we don't know the young says analyzed god's glory and he's and he's brilliant just showing great i'm i'm so i say shea butter yesterday day but i don't know what these next few weeks is gonna look like i after realizing that a cause i my human speaking my time was okay we've got all content the notes next you make the pub conscious gonna come together it's gonna be the contents of the book my god when you've already done for weeks i'm like okay well not will cause i'm now i'm a bit stuck now got nothing left and the west rankle would take july and august all i really no direction no i can't do that that would be known since well what would i do instead what would it look like how would i show up quite candidly at the time recode today i still don't have it yet but i see this i put she did she because it means that when i don't know goldman already know god is already going into the future type of petty planning and they pay for it not true for me i'm not true for you as well as some wine courage meant for you review today is that if you are feeding and if you are feeding on show if you don't know celebrate that say thank you god i don't die because he does because he is god and we all know and i have personally i'm very very thankful for that and so don't worry you don't know oh you haven't got another piece of you on shore and instead i would encourage you to focus on what you do have and it's not very i think somewhere else in testimony and give thanks no second stop this is not just did this lady all over the place that reminds us give thanks so much so what kind of day you are hopping they will be something that you can be thankful in that day and so if you show turn it around and thank god for the things you on shore but if you're feeding on set and we have a goal got certain things thanking you have got i just know that he has already prepared i plan for what he knows even when you judge his power we age in our weakness and i would encourage you i will be talking more about stories in the language and by much later in the week but i would encourage you just think okay what happens when i don't know it has gone to show how much he does and ultimately how loved you attend you're writing trump said today it's a it's a simple one i wanna ask you to consider where are you feeling weak right now so that's an opportunity for you to paul johann tactic all these things i'm cheating on it and about a one of my experiences in the last last week or so i've i've tweet i will talk about this mall possibly tomorrow even i treat my my stock to the daily routine and you'll be my window we finally what you have we talked about before i've changed at an in and out of his indifferent questions but one of the question is areas for direction very clear space that basically this is the stuff i don't know god on the number of times i write something down and then within a day or two he provides ounces the concrete example of that i wrote down i think weaker so a guy how am i gonna grab the face of business reagan and then if by magic magic in the comments but it wasn't god's people knew people and you might be one of the new people who are listening today since so you are announced it depresses thank you.

"Have you been listening along as the last couple of weeks you know we've been we stopped watching her books together so it'd be it'd been exploring this idea you're loving ulitsa wage embracing you're you're in a weird but you could be you and i've been encouraging you which dany writing problems so that's gonna continue this week i stopped to say by looking at the real joy that is to be hammered in in making jesus you'll see i i don't really mean is just like a nice jen trade on later in the week we're gonna be talking by walked back look like in real actionable chen's 'em but beanie ceo ceo of a company the chief executive officer if the passing showers especially makes it says how we're gonna do things set the coach for the company says the gender howard is gonna get done and the joy way of doing business gold sway the things don't always necessarily go how you anticipate they will however they can be ultimately more fraying and awesome house within a day in jim would each a major league but one is just give you an example of what i mean by that is if you listened she's gonna sing along fanny recently a couple of weeks ago i told you this is gonna be a six week at the cause i anticipated that in the book that is gonna be formulated you know the the puck crosses the starting point to the book we at the book is gonna have that checked it we have five podcast episode this week that phone it just reason even mind mascot tell me that six we contact however the way that you might have been telling this before but the way i find these podcast episode is that are punt weeks and weeks and weeks in advance attend to recode about week and it's on i will sit down stunned the week with my new book we had gone to say right what do we gonna do and these ideas then pop into my head of i believe that god given my my evidence that is the number of times somebody come back and say how did you know that i needed to hear that and they ran on she's well i didn't know you needed to hear that but you know go on so that's the way the puck conscious punt so stop of this week 'em i sat down with my night because i always did i said right what is this gonna look like 'cause i said you know we've had a couple of weeks now introductory tight material we spent some time i spent some time sharing with you why it was really good future ratio in a way that i gave you some tips and tricks how you might stop doing that they said we we need to get into the real the real meat you know in real practical terms they don't wanna be just some fluffy book and when that should be real actionable stuff and i'm laughing because they would remind me wrong that we have the next four weeks where as one of the next four weeks worth of content so the polka well the next twenty chapters of the book of things like you productivity you ain't go setting you area you may get stuff done 'em we've already had a week on each of those him on the podcast already i mean to me and i was doing this on my editor by my own energy i would call me forgotten that we'd already done this stuff all we wouldn't have done it previously because i when i when i was reminded of why is it when i recruited dot com ten seven weeks ago it was the content we need for that moment in time any said the pet and so if i was doing owners based in isolation striving pushing doing it by my in cold it wouldn't have we wouldn't what chat quite said jim nicely so that's the real joy randy yes it can be challenging now will we will talk about that later in the week yes it's not always easy but ultimately what we're talking about here she's stepping into into goes back to you i'm i'm i want to encourage you in today's episode over the next few days we all gonna be exploring role what it looks like how jesus i just see the white by way of introduction stunted this week i am and i guess when the book comes together this will be that's the beginning of the end of that final conclusion type section of the book you know by the time somebody reads this in the book they would already have all these things in place where they will be they will being bracing everything we do at once you start doing that what's the next step having used that bring it together and my mind then it's about okay you need to make the ceo of your life and your business says they said release just a quick introduction where the quick story because what i would challenge you weighed in and ask you to consider is that if you do business goes way you will end up saving yourself time you will ease the pressure it will be more fun you will find that you have energy that would come from places you didn't know you had energy and so it really is like god's best for you and there's no i'm not suggesting for amendment and she's like you know put the penny in the slot and pullout norman sweeties come out there and not or gene either going to win not it's not like that they see the value in relationship this is about you sharing a photo with god's love stepping into each brian you day empowered powered way working in along signed a wave jesus that's ultimately what they should the bikes and so my my vice income for you today reunion as we stop thinking about you making jesus ceo life and business are there emmys way you are feeding resistance to that that is reminds me the conversation we had in the playground where one of the lady said the phrase ceo because she hadn't had she had a few examples of ceos who went particularly encouraging supportive wonderful people and so not less had passed the name of the negative 'em framework or negative story around that labor ceo the same thing happens to some people when they talk what i would say to you you know god is your father if you don't have any strong good loving wonderful encouraging father figure in your life you it's that's the reason that you were gonna struggle with this idea of god is you'll find that that'd be candid see that you know used to beat you up and scan just silly why would you wanna have have golden that role and the same is true this label ceo and so what do you think about it chicken says if there are any areas where you feel resistance and also at his intends off you know we all multifaceted she faceted and so you might find as you reflects on it i'm not that are in mind you could do this a long time ago asking to eliminate and bring to mind those things the armpit and then you boy you might find is why is that you might be great at going going to god's way how many stuff for example but when it comes to the secret she's a business you find it challenging well by contrast you might be pretty good at doing business with god and chatting with him about stuff but you tend not to follow through with the city what you consider austerity day today niceties and i said i that's why i want you to reflect on the consider in preparation but you are on the rest of the week on him any area where you feel resistance this idea of jesus as you'll see that as you're watching prompt i've ever i would encourage you should feel so inclined to inspired to cleese coming shadow comes up you in the face and business banking group on facebook facebook dot com forward slash groups slash you christian entrepreneur and even if you don't wanna shadow of the deep doc biggest stuff just coming in and being courage by other jesus friends because she's very lovely space knees go and helping us little by little growing and i'm means wonders when you pick it up anyway i'm not i'm not tomorrow.

"You be you tapped embraced you're in a way they're so you could make jesus ceo of your life i'm business and if you're not already a member of the faith in business playground facebook group i would invite you to come and join us facebook dot com forward slash groups slash you yet christian entrepreneur but as ever the link to that will be in the show notes the benefit particularly the moment i mean i'm always encouraging people to join the benefit joining amendment is we are discussing these podcast episodes and answer questions and i got a little bit deeper so if you're listening along when you join it but you have questions or you wanna shasta the great reviews please do that flooding courage come and join today then i call this episode like some modest and not a sprint mostly because there are times when we need to just go for it as well however this tiny thing with yesterday where i ended up at the end of the episode i reminded you just stopped to try something and that without remind do they go is big enough loving enough and gracious enough you can you can he can he will close correct you need speak but what i was been minded and others could having today's episode a story and if you've come across there's a book called grace the grind lovely lady because shaped lines now she i mean in one of their facebook groups and have book is ridi brilliant and i will link her book in the show notes because if you haven't read it before i would encourage you to redo it because as a result of raping her book and at the time of recording this i'm not going in a in a different face but great were doing a about a book club book study of shays book but the reminder that came true is that to me as a christian entrepreneurs as entrepreneurs with james says i'll see we don't need to be pushing all the time and it's what what shea talks about i'm not gonna pete well she's asking hyping you're gonna be the book because it's really good the way will say is it she she she ate identifies the actually there were lots of people who are christians who are entrepreneurs but they're still pushing and they still doing the work each day through their own their own ability and power and so she won't harry reid with grace ever grind is to encourage even if the power you do each day from from a position of god's grace instead about how this ties in with today's episode is i might as i read me meeting chat to one in preparation for that so the book club she tells the story of the best if i think it has a child and she had a meeting between the lines is really quite should have been quite painful ciampa i mean childbirth is always painful were told this meant but she had this she put not sure my experience not well my she well she described in the supernatural experience and hempstead child chapas said a child was unlike any other unlike the previous two experiences she's on the i think the potato sitting i think the drug is cold to intensify had contractions it hits i it might not be the exact same drugs but when i had my my my eldest unlike contractions when doing very much and so they hooked me up to these drugs i had a nickel ju so i didn't feel any of it i haven't been praised the grind at this point and so i had i haven't had i didn't have opportunity to try out stuff is she's advocating a but but i can tell you that blooming i mean childbirth it anyway went onto after having my daughter had didn't do i didn't the next to bloom and she had a paint pre late but she had she felt that she described as painfree and i was inspired by meeting her count of child the way she had this cheap and not doing experiments who when she was doing the work lady bug truly like labor but in in in the power jesus and so it didn't feel like a and paying fillon or full i'm so never mind do i guess is that when we're going about on day to day business life we don't have to be pushing all of the time we don't have to be grinding to use shays language we can step into each new day god helping us working alongside that's what we may be talking about when we're talking about having jesus as the ceo of your life and business it's not meant to be just a consultant had not in the right direction on me here and encouraging and hoping to equip you to do is to do all of this side by side with him and so i when i talk about you making jesus ceo of human life and business i want to encourage you to have those stunted but they business meetings where you'll ceo well shall we do today he goes you know i've even pass and yet they got my my window week ton of i shed i when we did become yoyo live few weeks ago she updated my kind of and change the language around it actual content is affected in the state but instead of to do it shall we do today you know it's a conversation and so how this ties in with you being yulia 'em on bringing together this reminded there's two things rainy based a reminder that you don't have to push on strife on struggle to find find out what it looks like to be you every single day as you're doing this work it's not meant to be fixed and difficult on like something you have to wear con detours and then they they they follow up reminder is it it's a it's a modest and it's not a sprint so you don't have to do today i miss this week to anticipate the recorder will be a six week venture through this together so we ready in on janney anyway but even if we're going the very end is not gonna listen to the next six weeks of podcast episodes and that'd be done you know it's a day by day janney piece and so that there's there's combined there's june reminders but you don't have to push and you don't have to get it done today i'm hoping share that with you by waving coverage meant midi because part of the conversation that's been coming up in the playground over on facebook is sometimes it's really hard tonight who am i had i posted on instagram then 'em eight eight soundbite if you like one podcast episode one person responded and said go says i am therefore i am don't think we do and i ask the follow up question and didn't get reply the time so i guess it was the person who is asking the question is somebody who believes ultimately they all go which i know is it outside of christians because it's quite popular premise i'm people believe that some people believe that ultimately they are called 'em dot snow while i pass is going to i'm glad that god is gone to the notes but he was using that word sake is called that's called himself i i am and so therefore i am going without even asking i don't believe that is the case tool you know we are very clearly us and gold is gold 'em yes we have go with us twenty four seven that doesn't make us go on but that's kind of big of philosophical question at conversation which we can can have another day if you like rainy though i just wanted to encourage you because if you'll finding it difficult 'em if you'll china's sold like pushes so i wanna remind you and encourage you going back to what we talked about before lighten up when they were just to remind you that it's all gone big enough he knows who you are and so i wanna ask you i guess you're right you could have diabetes wherever you currently pushing all areas of your life are you trying to willpower even push away through to see some results and i post that because what i want you to think about is that we talked already in previous episode this week she won't resistance comes up so it comes up as well because way you have that resistance that sway you wanna mix a little because god knows you'll how he knows you're intentions honorable he will bring to mind for you those areas and then it's about a case how do i if i guess the follow up question i k if you can identify where you're currently pushing the follow up question is okay i got what do i do to release this until nine they move forward in your grace instead so it's a two part thing you may or may not wanna share that in the facebook group particular that second question because it is quite posts no i'm always open to having people share everything i'm quite transparent i know it's different people have different levels.

"You be you that ratio in a weird so you could make jesus ceo of you like a business and of course i would love if you come and join the free faith in business gronk report facebook's because well having conversations around a little bit different continents coming up through the political baseball dot com for slash groups slash you christian entrepreneur and that but i will put a link to that in the senate however that's crack on today's episode this episode i should won't you from the getgo is one of my favorite topics but people listening to this you a long time this is or if you're in the playground on facebook you will know ready while i'm gonna talk about i had in my notes as because he'd been to you being a do you being you and embracing in a weird day but i'm calling this episode how to yellow call your way to you only two we do we all talking about the meticulous the active aging system is one of my favorite topics as you know because it's so clever i love the way the the called created all right so then the quick version of this because i don't i these episodes like kim succinct but also i know lots of people listening would have hit me say this before but the original activating system the pop is a little bit the back of your brain that doesn't many things it regulates your body temperature amongst other things but it also actions and so the reason why including the yellow car i have eight bright yellow call as of two thousand and thirteen i think i had that call and i don't know that off the guessing my call i suddenly start to see you know come all over the place exact same cop one time we went from the holiday a one time i did see my exact call but it would accept it which french like bringing five to try and find it of meat mike hop hop lumps identical french version of like how about around town i don't see the exact same scott a but i do see yet accounts all over the place now the reason why that happens is thanks to the vet you activate it will happen to you think about this very moment if you've ever had and occasion while you but when you come on seventy east on income like your or the place or maybe a friend of the family bug bites and you call i quite often one of my daughters his best friend her mom hasn't really cute baby blue collar on on i see these baby blue caused quite often around time is when i know when i when it to although she gave her a great big weight and so when i see a baby blue collar coming towards max look and see or not but it's not just comic obviously you know the other examples of issues if you find that you're expecting you're baby or somebody within your close friends or family is expecting a baby you're suddenly stopped seeing people with christian in from all over the place because your brain will filter in the things that things are important to you if you would consciously notice every single piece of information that comes up a year and a day you would go on 'cause you're like nothing done because you spend you're holding them to sing just such a save you from going completely anonymous or from being paralyzed by oversee formation your brain axes offense in a similar way to the facebook algorithm this is my concrete well real world example for you they're out there how many said they said well how many posted on facebook in the day but facebook's quickly discovered it would be too much if you but if you show you let me every single piece of content and the pages that you liked the groups that you're in the people that you're friends with it would be too much so instead facebook's stilted what it shows you may stomach things things you like so the things you comment comment on the things you interact with with like love and i go and those buttons on the things you click on links not signals the facebook algorithm that stuff is important to you and they stop the show you more of the same that's why my advice to you as an aside if you don't like what you're seeing in your facebook feed still clicking on stuff consciously stunt clicking on things that you we want to interact with it that's why the anger button i mean he tried to avoid using that angered by john i try to avoid interacting the things that make me cry because i know otherwise icicle shammy more that and i don't wanna see that so how this works and your brain how could you signal gio braveheart important so when you buy a new car we find that you're pregnant it becomes just focus if your attention i'm this relates to you embracing you'll have to find out more about who you are i want to encourage you just stop thinking about starting to see things ready make you smarter so had conversations with four with people about happiness now i maintain the not chilly day today happiness contentment joy it's not about doing real stuff if not about having more holidays is not about taking the children to eight place the is fun for example instead it's about noticing were already makes you smile in a day because by doing that your brain will start to work for you if you couldn't they just were ready lights you up it will signal hill right that's it's important to her and she won't end your brain will stop so turned into more of the same as if you start noticing those little quirks and eccentricities things that make you moved to sing yeah and actually if you feel so inclined the colts have been some i take offense to grow i have i have a habit and everytime i saw an orange slug of taken a photo of it if you haven't seen in orange agents night on whether i just whether they died off or whether my brain doesn't think it's important anymore i do keep mentioning on the podcast and trying to signal to migrate in the espy's orange legs it's still important to me but tonight avail but but if you can record it in some weight like meditate and you'll go do something concrete became dot com action is another way of signaling your brain but not stuff is important to you and all these two things they go together to make a difference they will make you smile but i would also help you as you figure out who is dispassionate god made me to be on as evidence that reminder as well off go to show you know we you will notice things and get those not just from garden you might be going about your day and he couldn't eat thanks to the hattiesburg you'll get there is not two of what those things are but sometimes we were so busy and so they focused on doing the work we don't get time we don't allow myself to see that so i guess review the press stopped everyday is open my eyes helped me to see see you know there's a story of iowa's but it's like jet relationship one of them he's his seven always helper is co worker or wherever couldn't see the full days of good that were surrounding them until go utterly joy like shack whichever one prayed god open their eyes and so i guess the crime everyday is open my eyes just see those things like i said i'm going to help you see those things like you who is it who had like one of the comments that we have a conversation we had in facebook's in the group a last week was wouldn't be quite honest assessment not i don't know who i am one of the one of the statements and that was echoed by somebody else's well if you don't no stop noticing the times when you gina hospital help you see more of what looks like i'm your brain then because go designed it outweigh will also help you as well so is your writing prompt or however you recording i remind you that is the right thing from is well already lights you up well already makes you smile will already oh how were you were anti being you were already all those quick snacks and two cities lots of questions in that but they're all basically the same question and we're gonna wrap up and you know what already lights you up makes you smile helps you to be you start noticing things a recall them in some white ideally coming shana moving the face but great because well we could talk about this together but stop saying i'm going to say and then you'll brain were filtered more examples and the more you see the easier it becomes just see it's like some couldn't possibly have fun with that like i remind you if they know lighten up a five minute don't get to like angst about it there on environments.

"In the facebook group where the basis of what's gonna be ultimately the book or yet and it's gonna be i'm gonna put out there right now we're gonna put if a publication in september however as you're listening along if you're not already and then the off the face of business playground group on face on facebook would encourage you to come and join us because i'm gonna be giving you the end of each been wrong well i think encouraging people to do and what people are starting to do in the face but group is shea unless things come up for them with each episode if you're not already member of the face group a link to it in the show notes but it's facebook dot com forward slash groups slash you we at christian entrepreneur but like i say that will be in the show notes and together where i see this book is being a collaborative process so you know you ask questions i ask questions and then we go back and forth and help guide the content because quite candidly although i anticipate this will be a second chapter book and therefore we're gonna have the next six weeks we do this together while the content of the next six weeks will be i'm very open i said the with the polk cost being led by god but also meant than other questions that come up to you is well so i would encourage you if you have questions coming up i'm awesome so today though that saturday today we call it the little heading for this one is sickness on again they're just not ducks so you remember they start she'll today the stories inspired by a walk like took around round olive coupon did not jack eichel and lake is great big manmade pond and it's my regulated to joint with the dog's and then you're probably familiar with the story of badly that thing it's quite you know hounds christian i'm just done and how they didn't over the ducks giving this is other dot com tom producer ugly and yet she grew up to be eight swollen and then eventually even beautiful in glorious and amazing us lovely wonderful however i was walking around the great becomes less like one day and we do have quite a loss of life a living in in they ran despond we have some goes things but we also have some babies phones sickness and so i i love is walking around the on one date this wasn't recently there's been some a few years ago but it stuck with me had its share it with you as i was walking around and i noticed these sickness and took a look at them and and he said no ugly a tool reno ugly they're just not ducks and that's where the title for today's episode came from it's all about your perspective it's all about anticipation of who you are an and that reminder that if you're trying to be adopting putting a unique cutest dog and yes they are cute don't get me wrong way rainy fluffy and they look amazing but if you know if the duck and you'll try we have to be a duck it's exhausting sickening some ugly they're just not that they inevitably right i sickness even before they become beautiful glorious ones they're still be quite cute and so i wanted to remind you today be interesting how would you and ask you all the areas of your life while you're trying to be a cute little duckling and i wanted to remind you that maybe it's time to stoke i'm not is gonna be the formation of the viking from and i will remind you of it in but that's really what we're thinking about today's i wearing your life and you're trying to be a cute little duckling and i want you to sit with that and of course not reminder we're not doing this on all right i'm so i shed a post on medium a couple of weeks ago and i've lost weakens i'm thinking about it i track of time and it was that it was like an introductory price sharing becomes the first version of this but we it was never intended to be a book about face it was all about you being you which is yes have you but it didn't come at it from a face perspective exactly how sprinkling of golden because i am a test in the face and so you know you bring aspects of the person that you are into the stuffy create but it wasn't a fake book however well you are listening today and if you're going to be in the future what you will hold in your hand just very cleanly a faith based book becomes the janney the ice be non passionately at this realization that could originally they me the conclusion i came to see the best way for a hockey contention life is used to be but it's more than that and the journey i've been on his that she's not even my it's actually about living slot by in the center of god's will and you being you you've been not sickness mom like you know like you're being the frog robin the you being whoever is your may be is actually the secrets of us not seek i quit trend is the secret to you living stop buying in the center of god's will i will talk about this more in the coming weeks but there's nichols the you get deep inside this is definitely been my experience and i talked about this is that experience to that there is something that you are called to do you have your esta movement on whatever that thing is that you are quote to be an and whatever they're very specific thing or series of things i believe however if you could show up every single day folks the talk because not being the past and he made you to be you already stopped buying innocent and hayes wealthy online and so it's time for some getting so hung up on specifics and they they do jazz oh i don't know however i also know that god wants to be in relationship with you i'm some every single episode as i put these these these writing excited he's writing prompts to you i want to encourage you would remind you that you're not doing this on your right i would encourage you i i started this practice of having one calling a business meeting with got a stock of the day i say you could make yourself a cup of coffee and sit with him on and i can help you with this because he knows you betcha then you know yourselves which which is kind of like you you think oh man rainy but yes you know he made you to be here and he may even before we talked about this last week you know before you ever twinkling you'll mother or father die he knew you would be here this may be listening this episode right now what do you wanna remind you and i suspect they swept me the first time i remind you but as we said self stop the new week 'em i do wanna remind you all of these exercises don't do the monuments if you don't show ask god saint grab yourself you're favorite drink and the writing implement it just stick with it well maybe she liked to be outside if you don't package you so that would walk the dogs and ask came there shamed me wearing my life and my trying to be a little keep duckling go and see what comes up and sometimes when i talked to for you is way you feel resistance is way you need to pay attention because these things but we feel resistance around or if he conceded his self making king excuses i would encourage you to project a little bit more we talked last week about you know traditional marketing they wanna project the pain points not by that but what i will say is the way you feel resistance usually means there what that ultimately gardeners johann he knows it you are doing this from a good place i said there is no judgment there is no fear there's no fear in love you know were told that and say you're wt come up they replace if oh no i've gotta get out says oh no don't give me a hard time not this is ready comet they and this is all about the language is well and we will do in episode on this again but be very aware of is one of the language that you used as you as you approach and conditions replacing an experiment betterment a chance and opportunity to grow and find out more about who you are the person that called me to be a wet in my life and my trying to be cute it to me and see what comes up and if you are a member of the faith in business playground or an already and you're gonna come and join us dj show comes up to you and if you have any questions or any pushback any comments because i i wanna help you and support you as you go through this process and quite candidly it will help me as
