Word of the scheduled meeting between Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin comes as the Biden administration has been warning that arms negotiations between North Korea and Russia are actively advancing. US officials provided evidence last week that Russia's defense minister had recently traveled to North Korea to try to convince Pyongyang to sell artillery ammunition to Russia. At a CBS News senior White House and political correspondent Ed O 'Keefe. An army helicopter pilot who rescued soldiers in a Vietnam firefight is set to receive the medal of honor today. Larry Taylor risked his life to rescue a reconnaissance team that was about to be overrun by enemy fighters. The The now 81 now year old landed his Cobra attack helicopter under heavy fire. The chopper had only two seats. Both were occupied so the four -man reconnaissance team clung to its exterior as they were whisked away to safety. Man in custody after baseball bat attack hurts 2, including intern, at congressman's Virginia office
"A suspect is in custody for a baseball bat attack that left two staffers injured at a congressman's Virginia office. I Norman hall. A man with a metal baseball bat walked into the Northern Virginia office of U.S. representative Jerry Connelly, asked for him and then struck two of his workers with the bat, including an intern, her first day on the job. That's according to Connelly and police. Fairfax city police said officers took the man into custody without incident, and that the two staff members were being treated for injuries that were not life threatening. That congressman, who wasn't in the office at the time, said he knew of no motive for the attack, calling it unconscionable and devastating in a post on Twitter. It follows the test firing of two North Korean cruise missiles from a submarine yesterday, the launchings are apparently in an apparent response to an 11 day joint U.S. South Korean military exercise that got underway today. The launch of missiles from a submarine is also a first for North Korea. President Biden is in San Diego with the leaders of the UK and Australia to announce a deal on nuclear powered submarines. Only once before has the U.S. shared its nuclear submarine propulsion technology, and that was with the British in 1958, in San Diego today, alongside his counterparts from the UK and Australia

It is a slow ride across a wide swath of the region with a warm weather, a lot of people are out driving this afternoon. Long volume delays in the beltway in Virginia, but the worst traffic on the beltway is in prince George's county on the outer loop from the Wilson bridge past oxen hill in saint Barnabas road. The crash well before branch avenue near the temple hill road overpass, it is only one lane getting by down the right shoulder on the outer loop on the inner loop in greenbelt getting a little better with the broken down truck out of the way and your kennel worth avenue in all lanes open. We've had a few bad crashes this afternoon. Two involving medevac helicopter landings, one and arundel county, route two blocked both ways north of birdsville road, and actually north of swamp mill road, mill swamp road. And then the other one in Charles county in hughesville on route 5 on the hughesville bypass south of two 31, some traffic might be getting by, but that would only be under police direction. The crash north of four corners on 29 near lockwood drive might be getting cleared out of the way more traffic is getting by now, but still delayed their volume delays between the beltways on 95 and the Baltimore Washington Parkway overall higher volumes and slower speeds, given the warm weather today.
