"I wanna mention in this one. Just very briefly. Jack miller for some reason kind of seems stuck in this sam. Lowes type of waste where he's fourth or fifth like every race. It just can't figure out how to get on the podium and it looks all the more glaring in contrast to what his teammate has been up to. Of course it doesn't help that he got beat by rookie on a two year old. Do khadi on frisia mirror. Qualifying does him in again. It's the same story. for suzuki. mir did a good job. He crossed the line. V before getting demoted when spot for a truck limits violation on the final lap so he improved six spots from where he started imagine. If he'd started on the first two rows he would have easily been putting in contention in this one. It's all about qualifying for those guys and ktm got bit by qualifying this weekend as well. Now on the other side of the board polo spago may had finished better in silverstone as far as the results were concerned. But this was just about as good of a race for him. He looked legitimately racy especially early on and then held on for a nice finish looking down the field a little bit further maverick fan. Y'all s scored points which that's a good sign improvement from his first race on the apprecia-. What's not a good sign though maverick lineup tenth on the grid. Great qualifying effort and he was seventeenth across the line. The first time around so apparently the move provia isn't going to do a whole lot to solve the terrible starting problem for maverick fan ya'll as you would think fresh start new bike new enthusiasm he would be able to ditch all those gremlins. At least that one is still hanging out. And i think that's a little bit concerning. I know it's early on but that should be at least a little bit of a concern for everybody to try to address before it becomes a major problem for him when the bike really does click with him and he starts to get better and better results. Up for valentino rossi. His first last race at misano didn't go terribly. Well qualifying just killed any shot at a decent result but he did finish ahead of franken morbidelli whose debut on the factory bike didn't go terribly well but he's still recovering from a major knee injury and he did finish ahead of andrea of it's the oso whose debut on the patrol spike didn't go terribly. Well you you see the pattern. Here right But hey dobie still needs time to get back in the racing shape but at least he finished ahead of nobody. He finished dead last so he really has. Some work to do is what i'm saying. So you're voting him in this one on top of the box for the second week in a row francesco back by his six podium of the season as he continues to establish himself as a future contender in twenty twenty two and a way better rider than he looked like. Even last year a fabulous charro may not have won this race but frankly he didn't need to even second is a significant step forward towards a motor gp championship. Then branding things out a neighbor. Asti anini his maiden motogp podium was incredibly fun to watch and a great moment for him in dementia do coty now as we look towards the championship. It's not over yet technically. But we're rapidly getting to that point. Fabio cortra- does lose a little bit of ground in the ryder standings. Not a whole lot. And he takes forty eight point lead out of me. Sano with just four races left to go. And yes like the world be commentators. Were saying because the lead isn't over fifty points right now that technically does mean that. He can't mathematically clinch in the us round at circuit of the americas. But that wasn't going to happen anyway. Because that would have required fabio to win and then back to like fall down and scores zero points. I don't know that either of those things is gonna happen. joanne mir is sixty. Seven points back in third realistically though he's out of this one and for petco. It's not looking good. He needs to make up. Twelve points parades just to tie and if he wins all four races in the process. That's the only way he would then have the tiebreaker over. Fabio coiro in wins. And if petco did win all for then all you would have to do is average a fourth place finish and then just find one more point on top of that and he still wins the championship. But you know there's no guarantee that bobbio was gonna average fourth-place place finish from here on out. So i suppose that the door is open. Just a little tiny bed but if we're being a bit more realistic about things and we say hey. Petco continues with this momentum. His a great finish to the season and average is a much more realistic second-place finish from this point forward. That means if bobbio just needs to score cheap points per race and that's it so an average finish of eighth. And i'm sure you can see where i'm going with this because even a slightly struggling coiro still probably going to average at least an eighth place finish so i'm expecting to wrap things up here either. At the end of the next misano round or in portugal. I would be shocked. If the title was still in question going into valencia. Where the did coiro would have a huge advantage over bag to kati by the way so things are really breaking in fabio queiroz direction rate. Now it's only a matter of time. He just needs to take care of business. Don't fall down and he's pretty much. Got the two thousand twenty one championship locked up and then all we have to figure out at that. Point is the very hotly contested constructor and team championships which are definitely up in the air between yamaha and do coty this season all right so my take on the same marino. Gp it didn't have the same excitement as aragon well outside of the motorway madness but the first piece on race definitely had some unexpected twists and turns and in intense. Finish to the modal gp race. So i'll take that as a start and expect a little bit more exciting action throughout the field. When we're back at the marco semen shelly circuit in about a month's time all right. So that's my take on the san marino. Gp what did you think of the race. You know what to do. "This is his chance to finally get that two hundred podium before he retires and based on how he's been racing that seems just a little tiny bit farfetched right but it might not be because valet has had some serious mojo at his home track in the past even later in his career at attract. That seemed so many. Different winners valentino. Rossi has the best record of anyone here. Marc marquez included. Same number victories as mark three wins and six podiums. Now it's been a while since he's been on the box but he was only four tenths of a second away from the podium last year one year ago was four tenths of a second way and he finished fourth into the last three misano races heck. He's even qualified really well here later on in his career something. He struggled mightily with this season. But the last time that valet started lower than seventh at san marino was back in two thousand eleven and that was on coty and that was the only time in his entire career since they started racing there in two thousand seven that he started lower than seventh. So this and the other misano race they legitimately are his best last chances. He's at his home track. Eleven awesome helmet every fan. That they let in is going to be pulling for him. Could this be number two hundred. I'm not to sure not terribly confident. But if he makes it happen. The place will absolutely bonkers entire country. We'll go absolutely bonkers next up on. My list is ryder. That's been doing about as well as valentino lately. that's beguel oliveira and things certainly have not been trending his way and i'm assuming that the majority of that has to do with his wrist of far more than he would readily admit to his performance. Dropped off a cliff in the wake of that injury but he was stellar prior to that. And i would imagine that performance is going to start to creep back in although i should probably be aiming more for circuit of the americas after the break a couple of weeks to rest rather than putting him on my list. With a quick turnaround from era gonda macedo but still miguel was fifth. Imerese to here last year and that was after starting fifteenth the grid some going to have a little bit faith in him and say that he's a deep sleeper. Pick to do something interesting in this race and other sleeper. Pick an ahah bassiouny. These surprise finisher for me at least baragan outside of petco. But i mean a win wasn't much of a surprise when it comes to just the battle between him and mark was but best teeny a rookie on a two year old. Do coty didn't just finished sixth but to do that. He had the past race winners. This season like fabio quarrels. And where he martine bread bender and the timing of that performance could not have been better to set him up for a breakthrough race because all of that momentum from oregon could easily carry through to san marino a place where he was fantastic last year emoto to with a win and a third actually that was his final win of the championship run came at san marino and on top of that he was bored just a few miles away from the track so the hometown motivation is going to be huge. And it's the vr forty-six home track as well so on to kati italian writer right next to where he grew up right next to where forty six academy is hill even have special berry berry pink livery for the race in. I don't know what the ceiling is yet for an seaney especially on an old bike and hyper competitive field. But i would not be surprised at all to see him. Step it up again with another career. Best or near career-best mood gp result. So those are the ryder center officially on my watch list but one more that a half dimension that of course is the returning guy andrea of so now. He's not officially on the watchlist. Okay i wanna make that perfectly clear but he is making his return to the motor. Gp grid and his return to a satellite yamaha for the first time since two thousand twelve. The reason i bring him up though. This isn't a bad track for his return. Andre so was one race here in two thousand eighteen. He was on the podium in two thousand seventeen and he's finished top. Five at the semen celli circuit seven times at the motor. Gp level last year. He was just okay finishing seventh or eighth but his average finish last season was six point six nine so those numbers are kinda right in there with what you'd expect from him. I'm not. I'm not taking the overly optimistic gamble on dobie this week that it did a maverick vanilla upon his return at arrogant. But i will certainly be interested to see. How lovie doesn't this race. And i'll be interested to see if his presence on the other petronas bike can somehow sperling valentino rossi as both old guys try to prove to everybody that they've still got a little bit of that magic left to show off in front of their hometown fans so that officially wraps up the writers. We're gonna talk about that. Means there's one more thing to do. The part of dreading ever since the show started net is make picks for race that i think is impossible to pick in a season. That's impossible to pick. But i'm going to give it a go here. A top five finishers spread. This weekend's san marino gp in italy starting theft. Going doctor on this one. Valentine are us and i hope. I hope that i'm wrong here. I hope that what really happens is he gets on the podium and the italian crowd goes absolutely mental jumps over the fences in the walls and floods track now. I'm really not sure that's going to happen. I think i'm being really really optimistic by saying how finish theft but end of his career. Not like we just talked about. Rossi is still always quick here. And if there's any track where that old sunday magic is gonna show up again. This is the one. So i'm going to pick the doctor to finish top five so rossi and fifth in fourth one spot ahead of him his former teammate fabio coiro and not on the podium coming off that lackluster aragon performance tires or not. It's a little bit of a concern so because the field is going to be so competitive. I think it'll be strong but not go out and dominate some not quite chirpy skin land on the podium or not some picking fabio fourth and then on the podium. I'll start with marc marquez. Who's one here three times before and last week. He showed us just how close to the old marquee can be. His is the only question for me with no time off between rounds. So i'm going to put him at the back of the podium in third in second show am mirror. This is good. Track for mir. An suzuki the last weekend i think he would have been able to be close to the leaders. Had he gotten off to a better start if mere wants to make any kind of run at the championship. He's gotta go. he's gotta start right now. he's got to figure out a how to get past fabio quad. Charro am be how to get on the top step of the box. So he's really gotta turn it up. This is a track where he's proven can do it. So i think he will step up but i'm only going to put them in second because the winner for me in this race petco back nyum homefield advantage a ton of momentum and a do khadi that can handle. We've already seem one factory to colorado take two in a row this season. It could happen again here with bag nyas so that's my top. Five for the same reno. Gp and fifth valentino rossi home for fabio quad sharara and on the podium marc marquez joanne. Mir and your winner. Petco back naya..

"The only repeat winner not dolby. Not rossi only marquez. He's done at three times while six. Two writers have all won once during that span and there are several reasons for that sometimes. It's the weather sometimes. It's a little bit of luck. in sometimes. The unpredictable racing surface which was ultra griffey. In two thousand eighteen lacked. Any bite at all in two thousand nineteen it got totally repaid before twenty twenty and so now the challenges continue as the writers try to learn the changing surface as quickly as possible as it starts to wear in. I'm it's not a particularly long track but packs quite a bit into its four kilometers or about a mile and a half or so. It's a mix of technical and deceptively fast considering its size. The first third is slow and twisty. But it's not stop and go. It's pretty flowing kind of a test of corner speed that also offers a couple of opportunities to pass in there as well especially the s.'s. Turns one and two and then that double apex term foreign five things then opened up quite a bit. Which of course gives the advantage back to the honda and cadi for maybe the suzuki but not with a traditional straight but gently curved. One that put you on the left side of the bike hard into a tightening hairpin. Turn seven then you get to the best part of the circuit the backstretch that dog legs right into curve oni. Three consecutive right-handers of varying mid the high-speed starting faster getting slower. As you go through and you have to be really really brave to carry as much corner speed as possible only to have the tiniest of straits at the end of that lead in the term fourteen cotto the slowest point on the track and a great opportunity to dive bomb under someone for a really hard block pass. And if all of that isn't enough after you spend all of that time on the right side of the tires then they throw a left-hander achy. So you have to be very careful not to lose the front in term fifteen as the left sides get cold. It's very reminiscent of the sachsenring in that respect but just the other way around and then speaking of block passing. Don't underestimate the final corner. Either there could be some good action there. Especially if i don't know maybe somebody named petco. And somebody may marker going at it on the final lap so misano offers a few handling sections. A few mid the high-speed edge grip type of sections and throttle control sections. And that's why we see a variety of winners here because it tends to lend itself to a variety of bikes especially considering the conditions. Now it should be dry which is a good thing. But it's also going to be hot. And you combine that with a circuit that already tests the frontier to its limit with a lot of edge time and lean angle breaking and there are a lot of challenges coming into the weekend which may tell things in favor of the more experienced riders. So that's where the racing now. Let's talk about who might be leading the way my favorites for this weekend's race the riders i think have the best opportunity to finish top five make room for the podium and maybe just maybe win the race. We're going to start with the championship leader. Fabio coiro and yes. I know he didn't have a great race last week. In fact i call it at his worst race of the year. And i still stand by that but he said coming in that it wasn't his best track of aragon he still finished eighth. And that's not bad. So i don't think many people are questioning. Fob us speed right now. I certainly am not m while this likely. Isn't the track where fabio was thinking he. Can you know bounce back in a way where he goes out and dominates like you did. It may be silverstone. There's still plenty of reason to think that he could come back strong from what happened in aragon as a rookie fabio quattro charo finished second in san marino. Last year he finished fourth in race to while he crashed race won twice but he was running fourth the time of that first wreck and he started on the front row. Every single time he's been at this circuit at the premier class level. So the comfort with the track is there. The speed in the past has been there and fabulous still has a pretty good point lead so he can afford to be a little bit more aggressive. And i would think that he's also coming into this one feeling like he's got to be a little bit more aggressive after what happened in aragon to prove to everybody that no. He's not going to have a collapse like you had last year so i think he's going to be focused and as long as the tires. Don't get in his way. I don't see how fabio coiro isn't going to be in the mix. Come sunday afternoon on next up on the favorites list for me. Joanne mir coming in off the podium last weekend mir has some momentum built-up and. I'm sure that he's looking forward coming into this particular track. After finishing on the podium im- both san marino rounds last year. I in the second race. He finished runner up after starting eleventh on the grid and is history. Goes back a little bit beyond that as well as joann was eighth and his rookie season here and he had a pair podiums and moto three as well. So the twisty parts and the higher speed corners definitely worked to the suzuki's advantage here in the bike. Being easy on tires doesn't hurt at this particular circuit as well then. Of course. Suzuki got that new ride height device for the second half. If that helps them a little bit on the faster sections. I would say bo suzuki. Riders could be competitive all the way to the end. Now a suzuki is never one emoji. P race at misano. But muir i think legitimately gives them a chance. of course. there's a caveat there and that caveat is qualifying. i don't care how many spots he made up last year. Mir isn't going to be able to win if he qualifies eleventh again. Qualifying is critical and we saw that last weekend mir started on row three and finished on the podium. Meanwhile alex ren's started twentieth and ended up twelfth so if if mere can get on the first two rows of the grid. He's got a real shot in this one all right moving.

"The way if you're motorcycle insurance allows you to spend even if it's like five bucks or ten bucks a month extra for towing looking at that towing belfer pistol pete. Good investment right. Now i do have triple a but i think insurance would be cheaper overall because aaa makes you pay extra if you have a motorcycle. Which by the way. I think sucks that they do that but they do. And here's the thing. All right so pistol pete side of the road waiting for the tow truck with his. He wasn't the only one rogue three standing by also posted a pick sitting by the side of the road next to his tone. Oh what are the odds of that. By the way this time it was a rear flat tire which again pretty crappy. Whenever i've been on big trips. I typically carry a patch kit and the timing electric pump. You know just turned me somewhere where i can have a professional. Take a look at it if i have a flat but that was only a long trips and that was what the bmw bags and places to keep a bunch of stuff. Tony doesn't have that luxury of being stranded. Anywhere sucks but being stranded in the summer wearing your gear is like the worst but seriously You guys have to pick better themes for photo contests. Then what's the most creative way. I can get my stuck by the side of the road But moving on to things that are much cheerier much happier times tattoo. Raven went to that neat current tractor event at circuit of the americas berry very jealous so many great things happening. They're small group. Track time at a full on modo. gp circuit nate's there. Of course ben spe- showed up although. I'm pretty sure that that was a yamaha. He was riding in that video. And not a bmw. And your wife's reaction to the ride along in the m three. That was absolutely hilarious. And by the way i would echo is something you said in a response on that post. I would always always always suggest that if you're doing any kind of car based track event where there's an option or an offer to do a ride along totally do and i mean. Obviously those are much more common car events as opposed to motorcycle based events but do it if you get the opportunity. If you're not that interested you'll have fun and if you're really interested it's so valuable because you think you know what a particular car might be capable of. Maybe even driven the car right. Then you get into the car where professional is driving it and you find out that all along you only figuring out in the end what you were capable of now you find out what the car is capable of with a pro or an instructor you find out that you can push it a lot further than you would imagine. And i've done that in streetcars. Sports cars in stock cars. And it makes you better when you're behind the wheel yourself. And i wish there was an easy way to do the same thing with bikes. You know outside of the few people who've gotten the awesome opportunity to ride the to up motor. Gp bike with rainy memola There aren't really that many opportunities to get on a bike with somebody a professional. You can really get the feeling that they get and plus. You're adding so much weight to the bike that that feeling that you get riding to up really doesn't match what you get on your own but when it comes to a car man get in it and do the right along you learn so much Guy on two wheels. You're going to get a couple of votes for me for parents of the year or grandparent. I'm not sure which one or the other not only are you getting. the little ones hooked on motor. Gp at the right time. But i believe you said that one of them was named luca is that right because he's already got a motor. Gp name at that point. So you gotta get him on the bike like asap with a name like that. You're gonna win something not quite sure. What but you're gonna win something so get a bike and then finally malin which i'm assuming stands for minnesota come on man check out that do coty three fifty old school. Gp south bearing. I dug it with the stickers but it looks even better when you cleaned it up. It looks the part. I can't imagine what it's like to have the chain and the shift or on the right side. The bike think i would probably put myself over the windshield a couple of times thinking. I was shifting when it was really breaking. I i don't understand how some of you guys fate is like this to faith three sixteen find these awesome bikes to bring home. All i find are like broken down ninety s bikes that. Follow me home. I gotta start searching harder for like really cool awesome stuff. I love it seriously. Good looking old school bike. And by the way. I just popped over before i started the show to the red at sub real quick and chip has posted the first picture of the custom bearing the archie fifty one and it looks good. Top marksman definitely top marks cannot wait until the tank is done. We get a good shot seeing the entire by kind of coming together and i will admit that last week i was searching for fifty one's on craigslist. I know i shouldn't looking anyway kid. It doesn't cost anything. The look i mean eventually it does but at least that's what i'm telling myself all right so that's it for the comments and pick some video for this week if i didn't get here it's it's probably because you posted it just recently in the last few hours or so just simply haven't seen it yet. so make sure you keep posting. There also was another picture that was right below chips of an old school buell. I believe it was a tube frame one as well. Yeah i think it was an s. One lightning one way or the other. It was very cool and we'll talk about it on the next show along with what chip is up to fifty one but for now we gotta move on because this weekend. That's right we're back at it again after that incredible battle between petco bag and marquez and aragon no waiting to find out what's going to happen next hopefully we'll have just as thrilling of a battle for the win as motor. Gp moves to misano. Who gets two rounds. At the world circuit marco semen celli just like they did season ago. Now this time around. It's not two races in a row but both races have the potential for some unexpected results of the italian. Riders of course are going to be ultra motivated at home too in particular valentino rossi of course running in one of his final motogp races in front of the hometown fans and the italian writer making his return to the motogp. Read that considers san marino his home track andrea of ceo's so on top of that where franken morbidelli making his return in factory colors. No less fabio coiro. His new teammate is looking to get his championship. Run pointed back in the right direction again. And then we've got mark and petco maybe setting up a number two. We can only hope right so there's a lot to look forward to this weekend. Let's talk about it from the track to the favorites. A couple of riders. I've got a my watchlist this weekend. Then of course. I'm gonna make some picks we'll start with where they're racing the saana world circuit marco semen celli. And it's a very interesting track for a couple of reasons. First and foremost. This place is intensely italian. And with being the first of the two-part. Goodbye to valentine rossi. Even though the venue isn't allowed to build the capacity at least for this race you can bet that the fans that they do let in are going to be over the top enthusiastic and there's going to be yellow everywhere as they all desperately hope that their hometown hero can give his illustrious motor. Gp career a proper. Send off with one more podium number two hundred But even though this is a bit of an italian cathedral and they're going to be rooting orb morbidelli and also in bag nyas. Well that doesn't necessarily mean the italian writers dominate here. Nobody does really. And that's the next interesting aspect of asano in the last nine races. Over eight years. Marc marquez is the only repeat winner not dolby. Not rossi only marquez. He's done at three times while six. Two writers have all won once during that span and there are several reasons for that sometimes. It's the weather sometimes. It's a little bit of luck. in sometimes. The.

"More at attract where he has had some success. So that's my watch list the writers. I'm going to be keeping an eye out for maybe surprise heading into this weekend. Which means we've got one more thing left. Do it's part of the show. I'm looking forward to making some picks. And i'm not even going to mess around. I'm gonna dive right in here and tell you who my top five are for. This weekend's arrogant g. p. starting fifth i'm gonna go out on a little bit on a limb here. Go maverick van. Yao's started taking a flyer on that you know with the team. Momentum coming out of silverstone and then y'all is being ultra motivated to prove himself to everyone. I think we could see a little of beginner's luck as a result he could surprises here and a top five would be a big surprise in a big accomplishment. So look out for maverick in this race to use all that momentum to advantage before you know there's a chance that could all disappear the pike's not that great so mavin theft. I know that's kind of crazy. But i'm gonna go maverick. Fan yellows fifth then in fourth brad bender. He's been way faster to start. The second half of the season and arrogant is a track where you can be aggressive as we've seen so many times in the past with marc marquez. Bender is that same type of rider so if the big if he can qualify reasonably well. He can be top five sunday afternoon. That brings us to my podium. Finishers for this sunday's aragon gpa. And third i'm going fabio sharara. He was absolutely brilliant silverstone his struggles last season here are minor concern and the fact that he doesn't like this track a whole lot is a concern but again a minor one. I don't see him not on the podium but there are strong players here that may be able to lock him out of the top spots. I'm going to be conservative on and go third. Which brings me to my top two and second marquess because the last mark track and amusing finger quotes when i say that with saxon ring and of course we also saw what he was able to do there and with this being almost as strong of track i expect almost as strong of a result he could easily score his second podium of the season some going in second and i hope this is a battle right down to the wire between him and the guy who i picked to win the entire race. Alex rinse. he looked strong last weekend. Not otherworldly like fabio but still excellent. He was fantastic in aragon last season. And while i'm not sure if anybody can beat fabio right now. Rinse has a chance. So i'll take fire on the suzuki zouqi after they're showing here last year in both races. So that's my top five for the oregon. Gp maverick gaullism fifth. Brad bender fourth and on the podium. Fabio coiro marc marquez and alex rance. I know that's not that exciting when it comes to championship points but it sure would be a very interesting podium. So up next while we've got a race means we'll have a post show check back. At the end of the weekend. Where i'll recap all of the action from aragon and three moto to ammo. Gp give you my take on the race. As soon as i'm done watching him remember. That won't have seen all the post race interviews and debriefs maybe just parked for may basically be my gut reaction to what we saw and what it means for the championship Then after i get done it'll be your turn all right to leave your comments on facebook and read it and we'll talk about him on the full show later on in the week along with the latest modo. Gp news including the impending. Return of one. Mr andrea david. Co so to the moto. Gp grid. Too joined maverick. Vanilla is after his return this weekend. So much exciting stuff to talk about. "But you're you just landed back in spain after After prey busy british grand weekend was well. it was good was z. And yes heading the same time a lot of our breaking news as as you said and I think there are more to come in the next couple of races with the dhabi. Coming back and Yeah i wait the seahorse Valentinus teammate next race in aragon so yeah very much Things going on well. Of course it was fabio coiro who extended his championship lead with a dominant. Win it. so simple like you mentioned there android device. Yo so i want to start with head because that was the big news of the weekend. Yeah i think that the considering holiday champion cheek evolves I think it's good that we have this kind of let's say side effects or complementary news breaking news because i think that the five years getting a stronger more strong in more strong every time and i think later up with have to say that he's He's getting blows to to his first mothership Tighter a for sure. We'll talk about a bet but the big news over the weekend yamaha. You wrote the story. Initially now yamaha more or less confirmed the andre vits. Yo so we'll be back. This season was petronas. Rt from mazzano. To replace frank komo daily will go to the factory team early to replace a vanilla and of course dove is gonna hopefully right next season on what looks to be a factor based just i mean that's always a huge news because there was a point a few weeks ago where it didn't look like zero so was going to get back on the grid. It's a whole while. I spoke with his his agent. Simone about the saline. I think it was Sunday or do they and he told me that in the end. I don't know how to say english. But when the stars allied yes when the status get aligned That's what happened with dobie. Because two months ago he was not going anywhere. He was going to have sake on sabbatical year and Yeah after happened with with mob. Reagan yamaha yet. This door got open and then hid. It is the official is looking like zero so it was going to be. Gp's mika hakkinen. Someone that's gone on sabbatical at never. Really come back. It's not really surprising. News because of course for a couple of weeks. building momentum that adobe voice speaking to dhabi's management with speaking to a yamaha to patrol. I'm he's been he's been. I mean his his agent has been with with yamaha and with s earthy For many months but it just the opportunity wasn't there so once the opportunity What's free they just make it happen. You have to say a big thing here. That's what ios favor as the fat the patrol is quitting the sport. The end of the year is buying racing. Team is quentin so they really will ask not wanted to do was have a factory supported junior yamaha team essentially to bring up young talent. But that's obviously the can't do that anymore. They always need a big name to to get some decent sponsorship than coming for this new team and savell paths. I mean oko three tacking championship. Runner-up fifteen grand prix winner in mosul. Gp these not a bad saying no. No he's not tiny but as you said i mean as you mentioned i i spoke. I spoke with.

"Going to have to create some opportunities to best their yamaha. Rival and petco is going to have to be locked in on trying to turn in another podium result. He's definitely capable. I only bumped him down to this category because of his general lack of results here in the past. And then we're going to move onto a rider that i think a few people are going to be surprised. I put on the list but cal crutch slow home track. Moving up to the factory yamaha don't expect him to light up the world in his debut in factory leathers but being at silverstone is gonna be a big boost. He's going to be awfully excited to be in front of the hometown crowd again. He's going to be pretty jazzed to be doing it in factory leathers as well cal podium. Here he's got five finishes of seventh or better with a few races under his belt now in a better bike to work with take that toss in the home field advantage and i could see him turning in not a podium but but a better than expected result an ob pretty awesome to see if he can do it And then from here on out. We're gonna continue on the riders. That are much more iffy than say. Petco back ni- maybe alex runs Next step is miguel. Lavera 'em miguel's wrist injury definitely derailed would have been a fantastic run with the new. Ktm chassis and his issues were compounded by the tire problems in that first austrian round. He says that his wrist really wasn't bothering him that much but he also didn't make it to the end of either of the last two races so it remains to be seen if silverstone is going to be more like the racist prior to the break or the ones that he's had after the break if he's healthy olivera definitely has the chance to be the top. Ktm rider in this one and he solid top five threat. But i'm being a little bit cautious because we just don't know what we're going to see out of him yet and exactly where. The state of that wrist is then final writer on my watch list for this weekend. The british fans will be seeing him for the last time in emoji. Gp race valentino rossi. Broissia's coming off his best finish of the season. Which of course doesn't mean a whole lot because it was far more product of gambling on slicks in the rain than anything else however it does mean something to valley because for the first time on a patrol spike he felt like he could have gotten decent result. And that may may carry through to this weekend at attract that he really really enjoys racing. At in fact that lay has the best silverstone record of anyone on the grade. One win and four career podiums remember silverstone only goes back to two thousand ten and in the last three races here he was third third and then fourth could his final time around in the uk. Be his elusive. Two hundred. th career podium if that's in the cards but this could be a race for us to build off of to eventually get that final podium may be at a place later on this season like misano so those are my watchlist riders and that means the only thing we've got left to do to make some picks and as you tell as we were going through the favorites in my watchlist. There are a lot of riders. we talked about. They don't have a lottery results here. And that's gonna make this race way. More difficult to pick in. It also means things could be very wide open. I come up fingers crossed. We're going to see like one of those classic phillip island style races where we legitimately have five or six guys in the mix all the way down to the final few laps. So with that here we go. I'm going to try to make some picks here my top five finishers for this weekend's british gp in silverstone starting fifth going cates him. But not the one you might think going olivera. A few weeks removed from that wrist injury and attract. That's more like the places where he looked fantastic before the break expecting a little bit of rebound out of miguel so a return to the top five in fourth place. I'm going to go with marc marquez. He's definitely getting more and more competitive by the race but this hasn't been one of his dominant tracks throughout his career. So i think he'll just be looking to build towards what's going to happen in aragon going to pick him right off. The podium in fourth brings us to the podium finishers in third. i'm going to go. Petco back nyah. Jack miller probably has more potential here but back ni- has the momentum he looked fantastic in the austrian. Gp and now that he's got his podium mojo back and is second in the standings. I expect he'll be extra focused on keeping that going in maximizing his potential to make up ground if fabio coiro should stumble brings to the top two and in second. I'm gonna go with zhou mir two years ago. Of course alex serene stole the show. And then a couple of years before that maverick fan. Y'all says one at silverstone. So i really think that suzuki is going to have a competitive bike here. But it's mere not rinse who started off the second half looking very confident. And i think he can pick up that british gp slack for his teammate. And make a run at the front. So i have him second which means we've got a winner to pick i'm going with fabio quad sharara. I know going out in limb right. A fabio has been fantastic all year long and etta track where there's usually yamaha in the mix. He's the natural pick in fact right now partially because of how he's racing and partially because of how inconsistent everybody else has been. I would consider coiro to be in a near mark like zone. Where i really think that people have to prove they can beat him for me not to pay him at a toss up. Track like i think silverstone is this time around. So those are my top five. For this weekend's british gp miguel olivera v marc marquez fourth and on the podium. Petco back ni- joanne mirror. And your winner fabio. Coiro do agree the disagree you know to do. Tell me my picks are awful or awesome on facebook at facebook dot com slash motive dot net or over.

"He would have been fast enough to be there with petco by probably would've finished ahead of where. Hey martine but in the dry of course he was going to battle for the win in the dry he looked absolutely fantastic. And it's the best. He's looked since his return outside of germany so he may have punt it in the end. But i'm looking very forward to seeing what mark is gonna do when we get to silverstone and especially in aragon where he's been so so good in the past it's very saxon ring like track for him and i did see at least one headline that. Mark had some painkiller injections in his shoulder before he went out there. But keep in mind back to back races at the rebel ring which are very heartbreaking heart. Accelerating track that's going to be really hard on your shoulder and your arms. So i'm not that concerned about it because he's obviously going to have a week to recover before silverstone. There's another week between the british grand prix and aragon then. That's the next back to back. Aragon going into misano. So there's a little bit of time. They're not imagine that for that back to back. Probably some sort of painkilling injection there too. I'm art couple of other writers that we need to talk about starting with our championship leader. Fabio quattro pro. Who also made a mistake on wets running away wide and determined won his first time background after he switched off to his reign bike. That was the same lap in the same corner that mark wrecked in and that took fabio from possible. Podium all the way back to seventh not where he wanted to finish. Obviously and he wasn't really happy about that. But i argue. He should be happy about it because things could have been way worse. Instead of running wide he could have suffered the same fate as mark instead. Not only did he stay on the bike and make it to the end of the race but he actually increased his championship. Lead again by seven points so seventh-place result or not it was mission accomplished. He just needed to get through both rebel ring weekends without losing big chunks of his lead and not only did he not lose he actually gained from the break until now so even though he finished seventh still a good weekend for him and for show amir he didn't really get the opportunity to make his presence known in this one although he was moving up along with. Hey martine in those mixed conditions but his relatively unnoticed fourth-place resolve at the end of this one may not be memorable but it certainly helps him out in the points which will discuss here in a moment by the way how. 'bout eager like lona and luca marini staying on slicks and finishing fifth and sixth in this one their best finishes ever emoto gp even valentino. Rossi ended up eighth. And it's amazing to think that none of those guys that gambled on slicks actually wrecked out wild wild stuff all right. So you're podium and this one brad bender. He's brave. He's ballsy he's a little bit crazy and now because of that he's also a two time motor gp winner. He gambled and it paid off big. And i'm sure the. Ktm was thrilled to have their colors on the top of the box at their home track. Petco back naya was fast in the dry. He was fast in the wet and he's now taking the point into cadiz championship quest. Which will discuss here in a second and then hey. Martine rounds out the podium. He continues to impress and he now has three podiums in his first seven motor. Gp racism remember. A couple of those races were back from injury. He was definitely not at one hundred percent. Now let's talk about the championship. Because like i mentioned a moment ago. Fabio coiro actually increased his lead by decent amount over these two rebel ring races. But that doesn't tell. The entire story johann zarco wrecked in this race. One of only two riders that wrecked out of this race. Miguel oliveira was the other one and as a result. He relinquished both. Second and third place in the ryder standings to appear guys that finished higher in this race. Then fabio deb. So yes the lead increased. It's at forty seven points now just shy of a tourist margin and that's pretty big but that lead is now over petco bag in second followed by defending champs roy moore who sitting that same forty seven points out. Sarko is still hanging in there but at forty nine points out after the wreck. Then jack miller is v. he's minus seventy six but now things do look a little bit more interesting because now instead of a satellite rider being second in the queue fabulous instead looking down at a pair of factory writers and one of those has a championship to his name so yes. The contenders are further back. But i think both of those contenders have more potential to make up ground and all it would take is one slip up fabrio and we've got ourselves a pretty compelling championship battle between him. A factory do khadi rider and a factory suzuki rider. Still bobbio is in the driver's seat. Here and i think he survived the biggest challenge so far this year getting past these austrian rounds and not having things be a disaster but the championship drama is starting to build a little bit because of the writers that are immediately behind him now even if they do have a decent amount of ground that they have to make up so my take on the red bull ring for this weekend's austrian. Gp just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier.

"And how qualifying has been his arch nemesis this season. I think there's only two races all year long that he started inside the top ten and watching once again. What he did in this race is just just reinforcement that. If brad bender could just simply figure out how to qualify well he would likely be doing the same exact things. We've seen out of miguel lavera before the break and miguel by the way was injured in this one. That's why he was really not that great all weekend long and brad proved it again. Today i mean he started sixteenth and he was ninth as late as lap. Sixteen in this race. And then he just comes blazing through the field in the final third getting by bo takenaka gami and johann zarco in the final few corners of the last lap to get an incredibly impressive fourth place. Finish after starting sixteen. They just need to figure out how to get him. On the first three rows of the grid and brad bender could make some big big waves over the second. Half of the season. Never talking nakagomi. Well i don't know maybe he's feeling a little bit of that. Pressure from iowa is increasingly more impressive performances. Emoto too but one way or the other taco was motivated and he was looking a lot more like he did in twenty twenty in this race then has so far in twenty twenty one and getting roughed up a bit by bender at the end was really his low misstep and talk a finally gets back into the top five for the first time since he res- was a really good race for him on the other end of the spectrum. I wanna talk about three writers who did little to help their chances on sunday. And they all happen to be on do kadi's starting with johann zarco who actually had a decent race and he was in a really good spot when jack miller went out to at least only finish one spot behind fabio quattro in this one but then he let to riders. Get by him in those final few corners on the last lap going from fourth to sixth. And you just you can't. You can't do that if you want to be in the championship against a guy who's been as fast as fabio quarrel has been all season long. You can't make those mistakes especially when you're chasing writer in the championship if you've got the buffer. Well okay you lost a couple of points. Come back the next day. You can kind of fix it. But here's arco is a good distance behind. He needs every single point he can get in those situations. You have to find a way to stay in front of two riders who you are better than and i know that's arguable. But based on the results we've seen the season zarko should have been able to best takenaka gami and brad bender instead. He lost out the both of them. That's really really bad way for him to end the race for petco back niamh. I mean when this first started before the red flag. He looked like he was going to be a contender and then he was simply flat in the second race. He never got anything going it all and he finished eleventh doing himself no favors. And then jack miller ma'am after leading the race early and then falling out of the podium spots. Jack was in the middle of a late race. Push to get by fabio coiro. Get back on the podium. Make up some points in the championship as well which would have been huge for himself. Amber johns arco too. Because it would have taken a couple of points away from coiro. And i really don't think showing mir would minded. That's so much either. But then he lost the front end in the stadium section with ten laps to go trying desperately to match the corner speed of the aha instead of being patient and relying on the dakotas real strength which was sectors one two and four. Don't try make it all happen in three if you don't got it in three right and instead of maybe getting on the podium or at least finishing fourth he missed out on at least thirteen points. Maybe even sixteen and because of that. He's now over seventy points out in the championship. He is perilously close to having his title. Bid for twenty twenty one come to an end as well before we finish up on the qadis by the way how about the droese finishing tenth in this race he got the last spot based on a track limits and fracture but still top ten for a guy who hasn't racing a couple of years. I think that's a good day. All things considered becoming background to. It wasn't a good day for them. Obviously they didn't accomplish what they set out to and yet she still had a smile on his face at the end of the day. Why is that well. Because i'm pretty damn sure. He was looking up at martine on the top. Step of that podium and thinking there's next factory rider that's the guy i'm going to go. Try to win a championship with if these other guys aren't going to step up for me. Because if mirrored one or even if somebody like johann zarco have one he was going to be pretty darn upset that his factory guys didn't step up to the challenge. But instead i think he was seeing the future up there and thinking you know what maybe not this year but maybe next year or the year after that because i got somebody. I can really really work with here so on the podium whore. Hey martine his first victory pray mac qadis first victory in modo. Gp and a fantastic display of talent from future contender show. Amir was second the ride height device and the result that came with it. I think definitely gives mir and suzuki a ton of forward momentum them running at the podium fabio quarrel he just keeps on going and this is just like a win for him in a champion like effort as well and in that championship while fabio of course still leads the way and he actually has a bigger lead believe it or not when he showed up in austria which is huge the margin now stands at forty points after johann arcos last lap. Struggles mirror gets couple back. He's now fifty one out while disappointing efforts for both factory riders. Lee petco back. Nine of fifty eight points. Back in jack. Miller wapping seventy two behind some more and more this fabio quattro arrows championship to lose..

"Even though the original bikes were you know. Burnt to a crisp. Although only danny dead. Because lorenzo was banged up in that wreck on but then we get back on the grid ready to go. The tracks cleaned up. The track workers by the way did a phenomenal job getting that track back in shape as quickly as they did. Then maverick vignolle is after. He finally finally had a good start to a modo. Gp race for like the third time in the past two years right. He comes back and race to and stalls his bike on the grid for the warm up lap and as a result had to start from pit lane. I mean again. The wildest stuff happens at the rebel ring a but once things did finally get going well got a proper race especially at the beginning of this one. The coty slugging it out. In the opening laps with jack miller. Or hey martine and johann zarco along with the impressively strong suzuki of joel mirror and that new ride height device all running nose to tail dicing a little bit and at that point. It looked like we might be in store for another fantastic shootout. That was going to go right down to the final corner. It didn't work out that way. And despite all of the experienced drivers around him in that battle ultimately was whore martine that took the advantage passing miller for the top spot. Pretty early on then. He proceeded the just throw down and incredible string of laps. All in the one twenty fours edging out a tenth year and attempt their against joanne mir before simply putting things away in the final four to five laps or so. He was so consistent down the stretch in this race while mir just made a couple of mistakes here and there is tried everything he could to keep up with the straight line speed of that two cardi. And i'll tell you what a huge huge moment for. Hey martine and for pre mcrae sing after jorges showed us a flash of his potential and low sale getting on the podium and then he immediately got hurt afterwards. He was struggling to get healthy going into the break when he came back. He was definitely not himself. He had to retire and asks him because the pain was just too great to make it the rest of the way then. Of course last year he had to sit out for covert and he was slow coming back from that as well very likely cost him a shot at the motor to championship and not to mention having historian. Gp win taken away. Motoo with the track limits violation one year ago where he crossed the line first but he had gone into the green paint so we ended up finishing second to come back from all of that especially this stuff this year and look so strong you know before the season started. I was very confident coming into the year. That or hey. Martine was going to be good and he's already looking like a veteran out there and exceeding expectations. And you know last year. When do coty made the announcement that they had signed martine he was going to ride a premed to kathi in twenty twenty one. I sat on the show. I had no clue. No clue at the time why katie. I'm was willing to let him walk away when very easily could have put him on a tech three bike and kept him in house while they're learning. How big of a mistake. That was already learned their lesson. And that's why raul fernandez is coming to tech three next year but this definitely puts an exclamation point on the end of that lesson because martine could have been putting in that performance for ktm right now instead of for cadi. He had a fantastic race and trust me. He is the real deal what we saw the podium in los sale and the poll in that race to the pole. And the win this weekend. It is not a mirage. He is legitimately that talented and legitimately that fast. And don't forget. This is also the first premier class victory for prey as well after nearly two decades of trying and getting so close especially the past few seasons with jack miller and john zarco a not to mention guys in the past like alex barros antonio leah's and andre who tried before just a great moment for them and m representative to of just how competitive things are right now on the motor. Gp grid yes. A do khadi does go out there and handily win the race. But it's not a factory to kati at all. It's one of the satellite riders. Now joanne mir tried everything he could in this race and full credit goes not justice zouqi for finally getting that ride height device. Ready to go and on the bike for the second half but also the mirror for taking full advantage qualifying in the second row which was their biggest weakness this season and last season for that matter to and then showing us what he's capable of when he does qualify on the front two rows hanging martines rear tire at a very do khadi track right up until the final few laughs most importantly for though he finished ahead of fabio quattro now. He didn't gain very many points as a result. But it's a start and anything is a step in the right direction and yes. He didn't win this race. But i would say that the boost that they're going to get from the success of this rewrite device is going to propel mir's confidence well into the second half of the season to make him feel like he can genuinely compete with anybody else on the grid right now. And that's probably the biggest takeaway for him and suzuki from this day of racing. Then for fabio sharara. He was the only one of my picks for this race. That was actually spot on a fabio into this one looking to kinda limit the damage and it honestly couldn't have worked out much better for him. I mean if fabio could pick one do kadi writer. Go out there and win this race. He would have picked who are hey martine. I mean he's the only rider in that takata roster that doesn't hurt fabio by going out there and winning. While joanne mir dig gain a couple of points it was just a couple and mir was over. Fifty points out to begin with so again not allowed to damage. Done you combine that. With the fact that johann zarco was treated very rudely on the final lap and it was a great great day for fabio. coiro he not only preserves his championship lead. He increased it and he showed us all that he still as fast as he was in the first half and he's the undisputed championship favorite right now. He just needs to get through next weekend and he's gonna be looking pretty good heading into the final part of the season now. Let's talk about brad bender and we talked a little bit about brad on the pre-race show..

martine joanne mir johann zarco jack miller joel mirror jorges Motoo raul fernandez lorenzo cadi suzuki john zarco mcrae danny alex barros antonio leah coty Martine kathi miller fabio quattro

"That point. I've been driving for so long. That i decided to stop nocco all the way down to key west because it was gonna take forever to come back and i do regret not going all the way down checking out where you guys were down there at the bottom and a side note right now of bart are twelve fifty gs where we're just having this conversation. You and me man am fifty. Nine baseman is well. Because nobody else is gonna what we're talking about. I don't know why you took that went down. Your axes are awesome. You know what i'm talking about. I've got iraq. Sitting right next to me can see it right here. That looks very very similar to that. My les paul is tobacco burst. It's not white not only have one acoustic And i do have a bit of a weakness for rickenbach irs. Even though i don't really play anymore. And i should really sell them. But i'll dig your stuff man. It's really awesome and then finally. Dj saw a late nineties x. Are one of the ram air ones in full on lucky strike livery just hanging out on the streets of austin thought enough to snap a shot and share it with us. You know. every time. I see an old bike like that in person. I think it's totally cool and ended up winning one which is pretty much why i have a garage full of old bikes and that is not something i would necessarily recommend other but hopefully my dream is at one day. I'll have one of my old bikes sitting out in the street and somebody will think it's semi cool enough to take a photo of it and posted somewhere. Don't have my fingers crossed for that though. I'm all right. So keep on posting. Like i said i haven't seen any of your valentine rossy comments yet and i am highly looking forward to them so facebook dot com slash motor week dot net or over on the red at sub at our slash motorway guard. So of that's out of the way and now it is time finally after weeks and weeks of waiting to go racing again. That's right moto. Gp is back. The series hits the track this weekend for the first of two consecutive rounds at the red bull ring in austria. First stop is sunday's steering gp technically fill in for the cancel finished gp. And then we're going to do it all again a little over a week from now with the austrian. Gp on the surface. This is a big opportunity for takada to make up some ground on fabio quattro in the championship battle but despite the fact that dukakis won five of the six races run here since the series returned in two thousand. Sixteen competition is closing in in. Ktm scored the last victory here. Honda has always been hot. On the dakotas rear tire and even yamaha suzuki have been more competitive since the first race. Back in austria you toss in the fact that only one of the four riders that have ever won a race here. Emoji p. is actually in the field this weekend and it's easy to see how this does have the potential to be a pair of really wide open races. Even though the duke in the end still feel like they come in with the advantage. Thanks to the layout of this track and with that. Let's talk about the track because this place is so much fun. The rebel ring but at the same time it is so treacherous. As of course we witnessed last year It's about big speeds and big breaking you know the rebel ring fully flips the switch on stopping racing. And this comes at just the right time for do khadi who are like i mentioned a moment ago looking to rain in fabio coiro get back into the championship and they get not one but two races in a row here to try to do it but not the yamaha's going to be left out in the cold here. I mean it is a european track so we do get a short stadium section with some twisty bits and good grip that the omaha can take advantage of but to get to that. Section is all stop and go. The front stretch is a moderate pill with a ninety degree right at the end. And then you get a massive am fast run the rest of the way up. The hill that ends at the tightest turn on the entire circuit. You get back on the throttle down the hill forever and the turn three and then into that big stadium section which is actually really cool. Instead of titan technical this features more sweeping changes of direction with a ton of veg time it really demands a lot of throttle control then the last couple of turns very reminiscent of cataluna. And we've seen action in those last couple of turns that is very much reminiscent of catalonia. And then that's some fast straights not a lotta turns and you're back to the beginning again. The highlight or i guess for some people the low light of this course. Turn three at the end of that big uphill straight. That is definitely the challenge of this entire circuit. You go from the fastest point on the track to the slowest point and incredibly difficult. Semi-blind turn it's so easy to override turn three and we'll see it happen across all three classes on a regular basis all weekend long if you start breaking just a little too late or try to cut that corner too much. You're going to run wide. And of course as we found out a year ago the run up to turn three through turn to that. Dogleg can be just as wild looking at you when i say that jones arco and really the corners the few corners there are at the end of those straits. That's the challenge. That's the main challenge of this entire track. Big straits beg you the stay on the throttle but the majority of the coroner's really wanted to back them up a little bit and be safe with them. So it's very tempting to push a little further and a little further and carrying more and more of that big big closing speed until suddenly pushed too and either lost a ton of granitz result. Or you've run into franken morbidelli. The best corners here for me are actually those final. Two that are very catalonia. Like great opportunity for a last ditch effort up the inside as we've certainly seen in the past for mark ndovi even if we don't get a mark dovy battle this time around. So that's where they're racing now. Let's talk about who's racing starting with the manufacturers and obviously at the top of the list do khadi. They are really looking forward to these two races more than anyone else. The long straights the heartbreaking zones the overall lack of corners. This place has really been suited to the desma. Oh better than pretty much anyone else and that has certainly shown in the results again i mentioned earlier. Decoding has won five of the six modo. Gp races run at the rebel ringing on top of that they've scored half of all the podiums that have been handed out. Even though honda has always been close behind. Casey emma rapidly gaining at their home. Track this has always been one of do kadi's strongest places and just like last year when there were also two races here as the do cadi. Riders were trailing in the championship. This once again is a critical moment in the season and a huge opportunity for the cadi riders to make a sizeable dent in fabio. Quattro rose ryder lead along with yamaha's margin in the constructors standings as well and far more than last year when they arrived here. They've got a deep field of riders capable of coming through for them mean last year. They pretty much had doe that was capable of winning. And that's it this year. Even though none of the writers on the current roster outside of jack miller have a podium at the rebel ring. I would say they are all capable of landing on the box and miller zarco and back ni- could compete for the win so decoding half to capitalize and they have to maximize their points while they have the advantage. Here i think going to be not just thinking win. But they're going to be thinking about having multiple riders on the podium in both of the racists to try to catch yamaha who by the way find themselves in a very interesting position coming into these races us. So let's talk about yamaha now on one. Hand fabio qantara was on fire in the first half and even at a place like the rebel ring where the m one is notably down on top speed. They still have to feel like they're capable of attacking here but on the other end of the spectrum..

"In the constructors standings do khadi suzuki and will talk about what they've done already. The season am what we can expect heading into the second half not only for the manufacturer but each of their riders as well which means we got quite a bit the talk about so let's get started with do coty and do qadis first. Half of the twenty twenty one motor gp season. It's pretty difficult to describe because really all of the components are there for them more than they ever have been before. The bike is faster in a straight line than it's ever been as evidenced by johann zarco two hundred and twenty five point two mph top speed in qatar. They handling is the best. That's ever been as we saw with their one. Two result in harare says they have wins their podiums and three three of their riders have averaged a top five finish this season and yet despite all of that they trail in the team constructor and rider championships off for one reason because as good as they've been great the bike is looked they haven't been able to consistently beat fabrio quad sharara and it must be frustrating. Because like i said the parts are there and the writers are taking advantage of what g delina company have given them and yet they still need to find a little something more but not to worry because usually as always is working on something as we speak. Delina said that two copies top priority is to improve the decimals corner speed heading into the second half to further. Close that gap to yamaha into zucchini and the handling department. Both through chassis improvements and engine tuning tweaks but also said that. There's something something new coming in october. Some sort of upgrade or addition. But he's not even hinting at what that something is but as you delineate. It could be something insanely while for. All we know so mechanically. The bike is better. They've got new stuff on the way. And they have a plan heading into the second half to try to match fabio coiro and the gamble the experiment to go young with their factory riders. This season seems to be working out incredibly well. So let's talk about those riders. Starting with jack miller who liked to cloudy as a whole had a very interesting season There were the back to back ninth to start the year off in lasalle them. Back to back wins. Once things got to europe and then he's only been on the podium. Once in the last four rounds heading into the break. I don't know if i would call him streaky. But jack certainly hasn't matched fabio quattro rose consistency. And that's been really the only major difference between him and fabio. Because when you add it all up. Jack scott two wins and an average finish of five point zero in the first nine races but he trails coiro by fifty six points simply because he only has three podiums were fabio much more consistent has six and of course more wins to go with it. So jack miller's tasks for the second half of the year are twofold number one get more podiums and seeing his his average finish is fifth. He only has to make up a couple of places to make that happen. The second thing take advantage of every opportunity possible to stop bobbio by finishing in front of him and that is a much more difficult task. The way that coiro is writing the podium. Some not worried about those will take care of themselves. There are definitely podiums ahead for miller in the second half but the critical part is taking full advantage of those do khadi tracks places like sapang if they raise their but more importantly these back to back austrian rounds two zero in austria. Last season was really. What set everything in motion for andrea. Co so to not be a title contender at the end of the year and it really his relationship with duke audi further than it was already broken and so jack can't walk down that same path and i'm not saying that him struggling in austria. Would you know strain his relationship with duke audi. I don't mean that. I mean that these two races for him are just as critical now as the back to back. Australian rounds were for takao county. As a whole and especially andre the vizier also. Last year he's got to come out of the gate strong in the second half if he can't win both of those races which is going to be tough. He needs to find a way to finish in front of fabio in both of those and that will get his second half and his title. Chances off to a much better start now. You could say a lot of the same things about petco back naya because those coty tracks are going to be critical for him down. The stretch is well. he doesn't have the winds. That jack miller has and that will make seem like his season. Hasn't been as strong as jack's but it most definitely has a petco has the same number of podiums as jack miller three and thanks to a much better start low sale and not finishing lower than seventh all season. Long petco actually has a better average finish of four point. Three seven five. And that's why he's actually ahead of his teammate. By a few points in the ryder standings in only one d. n. f. And i think that cannot be understated enough when it comes to the first half of the season for petco back ni- one the nfl is fantastic for a writer that is seen as many gravel traps as bag. Ni- has in his brief motogp career. So petco is quietly stepped up to the next level now he needs to take it one step further and he has to go out there and win and really. Don't see any reason why he can't with the confidence that he built in the first half. He's got room to grow for the rest of the year. He just needs to be careful here though because he is going to need the push a little bit harder to get that win and there's a fine line between pushing and pushing too much ken. Petco back nyah. Win in the second half yeah. I think that he absolutely is capable of winning race. But i think that miller with more experience is a better shot to take a run at the title. Of course the do cadi rider. That has the best shot to make a title push right..

"What does this podium say about. Maverick's current situation at yamaha. If you remember after the german gp last weekend maverick complained. That yamaha wasn't focusing on him. He even toss out the words lack of respect in helping him figure out the issues with the bike. And remember that. We're gonna come back to that in a moment and then as either a knee jerk reaction or is kinda barb toward yamaha. He vowed coming into asan that he was only going to use fabio coiro settings he was gonna use fabulous setup all weekend. Long if bob you made a change he was gonna now whether he did that. One hundred percent or not is a little bit unclear but at the very least he did start the weekend with the same exact setup. Fabio quarrel them. What happened well. Basing his bike on fabulous bike he went out and qualified on the pole convincingly setting a track record in the process then he finished a very comfortable second despite his poor start so considering that considering that with his setup in germany he finished dead last of the bikes that were running and then either seriously tongue in cheek one way or the other adopts all of fabio settings qualified on the pole with the track record and finish his second. Maybe i'm way off base here and you can tell me if i am but is that not at least a little bit of an indictment of mavericks ability to get his own settings right. I mean it's at the very least more so than it is on yamaha's lack of respect or concern for maverick. I mean it's not really rocket science here. If the maverick maverick only bike couldn't get on the podium. Ever since the first race of the season qatar and the fabio settings get him on the podium immediately and in the meantime fabio has continuously been on or near the podium or fast enough to be on or near the podium. Even when there have been problems then maybe the issue here may not have been with the bike. Nearly as much as it's been suggested by the knowle's all along. I'm just throwing that out there and like i said if i'm off base definitely let me know on facebook or on. Read it but that's what it looks like to me. I mean if he truly was using fabio settings then his results seem to point the finger. More to maverick to being the week. Lincoln the chain here then yamaha or the bike that they're giving him and that's only the first part of this discussion. That's not even the mention. The situation that happened after the race which was even more fascinating. We're maverick looked thoroughly displeased. Despite being on the podium. I mean as soon as he got his helmet off in park for may. He shrugged his shoulders. Multiple times shook his head in some sort of discussion with massimo mira gallet. Then he really didn't interact at all with fabio coach harare either impact for may or on the podium and he hardly participated at all in the champagne celebration and listen. I get that. He's unhappy right now and because of that. This result may not have cleared anything for him. In fact it might have confused even more and let's face it. He's got one foot out the door if not literally put out the door like he's heading to aprilia which i think there's a very good chance of it then mentally. He's got one foot out the door. He's kind of decided. His time is over with yamaha no matter how long that time lasts and so even good result isn't necessarily going to do much for him however i wanna go back to that comment that he made after germany when it comes to respect and if maverick wants to sit there after a race and talk about respect that's fine. He does not need respect yamaha and he doesn't need to respect any of its competitors or is team that is not required however he does need to have respect for his team. They gave him a bike capable of sitting on the pole which he did setting a track record which he did and potentially winning the race had he gotten off to a better start one way or the other. They definitely gave him a bike that he was able to put on the podium. He owes it to them. Knocked to act like he did in park for may or on the podium. He owes it to them to show appreciation and allow them to celebrate their accomplishment. Even if he doesn't feel like celebrating his accomplishment if he doesn't care that's fine but he should pretend like he cares out of respect for his team not affords manufacturer not for massimo mira gallet not proverbial quattro or anybody else in the world but his team if he wants to sit there after germany and talk about respect he needs to show respect to that number twelve team even lorenzo celebrated with do coty when he knew that takada was looking for an excuse to boot them out the door and he probably would have done the same thing with honda. He of course not been so thoroughly terrible. If lorenzo would have gotten on the pudding with honda i firmly believe he would have celebrated wholeheartedly with the team even though he was one hundred percent certain he didn't want to get back on that pike anymore and the only reason that i'm kind of getting down on maverick and criticizing maverick is because he's the one who brought this topic up and i don't think it's fair to point the finger at yamaha and say those guys aren't respecting me if he's going to finally get back on the podium and you know. The team was super excited that he was able to get back up on the podium again in stand there looking like his dog just died or something like that and you know. I don't want to stray too far off the topic here. And we'll talk about this more on the full show later on in the week especially after i've had a chance to look at some of your comments and find out if maybe i am way off base with my interpretation but you add up everything that we saw and heard here before and after the race and i'm setting the odds at about seventy five percent. That maverick is gone from yamaha. In two thousand twenty two if he can make a deal with apprecia- happen at all. And i'll also say to really be careful what you wish for because what we saw this weekend may very well be a glimpse into your own future. If things don't get off to a fast start next season there could in the end be some dove regret in the appropriate camp. I think is what i'm trying to say. I'm even further off topic. What a difference a year makes for a provia not even a year. I mean nine months ago they literally couldn't find anybody willing to take their vacant seat. That's why lorenzo salvadore has it right now then just a few months down the road. It looks like they're gonna have their choice between maverick than y'all as and andrea also and who knows who else they might be considering so they've done a phenomenal job of turning that program around just think about the fact that they went to multiple motoo writers who all told them to go pound sand and now they get to choose between two of the most prominent riders in the paddock. Over the past. Couple of years it's crazy. I'm art so getting back on track. A beyond all of this yamaha drama. That was playing out both on and off track hiding in that massive yamaha shadow. There was sunday afternoon. Joann mir who fled outraced like his life depended on it in this one. He started tenth. He had to fight by some incredibly difficult riders to pass like johann zarco and jack miller who by the way. He apologized for racing. Jack miller kinda rough in this race but he fought his way onto the podium. In what i absolutely think was his best effort of the season and one of his best has ever even though he didn't win it if he fights like that once he managed to qualify somewhere on the front two rows. He's gonna be a really difficult writer to beat. He definitely looked like a defending champion this race and now the only thing left is to start qualifying like one but i was really really impressed with zhou. Amir's effort in this one. He really looked like he wanted it. And that's how he's going to have to raise for the rest of the season if he wants to be able to try to compete with fabio coiro as fast as fabio is right. Now i'm a couple of other writers. I want to briefly mention in this race. Johann zarco suga off his less than stellar german. Gp with another strong fourth place result. And he's the only rider showing real consistency in the fight with fabio. He just needs to go out and win a couple of races now. Miguel oliveira may not have one like. I thought he might before the weekend. But fifth-place was still an excellent result in a difficult race especially since we got a little beat up on the start of this one and drop toward the back of the top ten. A petco bagai without the track limits. Thing he very likely would have been forth in this one. I don't know that he would have been able to hold off. Show mirror although we would have done a hell of a job. But i think ultimately he would lost out and been fourth. I wasn't expecting him to lead the race and look so strong..

"Second. And he may not have won this one but he is still looking fantastic. This season with eight podiums in nine races and not a single finish lower than fourth all year long. I know that's amazing. Consistency rounding things out. Augusto fernandez finally gets back on the podium for the first time since his misano win back in two thousand nineteen now looking at the moto two championship. Well romy gardiner. Didn't win this race. But he still is in control of the title battle with a healthy thirty one point lead over row will fernandez heading into the break. That the nf fernandez germany is looming very large right now Zeca keeps drifting back little by little every round. Which is the consequence of him on being. Read at the back or outside a podium contention. He's now fifty. Six points out of the lead and sam lows. At eighty-five points back is the only other rider within one. Hundred points of remmy gardner. That's just how good and consistent remmy has been this season. Fernandez is definitely not out of this title race at all but garner is forcing everyone right now to essentially be perfect and so that's what they have to aim for. That's what raul fernandez needs to do. If he wants a shot he pretty much has to be perfect from this point forward and then wait for remmy gardner to slip up somewhere and the statistics say that he's not going to be top for every single race from here to the end of the season so there is an opportunity there if fernandez does play things perfectly from this point forward and if he does have a bad brace here there that could also leave marco bizac with some hope as well. Although i'll say it again. Marco needs to start winning races. He can't just hope that remmy garner gives him back the points he's got to get to the front and take the points and then if he does indeed have a bad race in the second half then he'll be able to maximize what he's able to gain out of that mistake. So we finally get a proper dogfight out of the typically mundane moto two series with the premier class. Be able to take that theme and expand on it. We'll talk about. Gp coming up all right. So let's wrap up our discussion sunday's dutch tt and asks him by talking about motor gp and this is to be a conversation that involves things off the track just about as much as what we saw on the track sunday afternoon because there was some high drama playing out in the yamaha cab specifically as it pertains to one mr maverick penola zaba. Let's start by talking about the race itself and i was hoping for an epic battle in this motor. Gp race and we may actually have gone one. Had the aforementioned maverick than y'all is not had yet another one of his traditional mave starts on sunday. Despite starting on the pole he got dropped. The fifth by the first turn of the race had to fight his way back up from there. He got stuck for quite a while behind. Petco back nokia. Which is understandable. If if then y'all as had gotten off to a better start then maybe he would have had something for fabio quad harare in the end which would have been awesome. It would have only added to the intrigue surrounding those rumors that cropped up in the middle of the weekend that he is indeed headed to aprilia next year. And go back and listen to the bonus show if you want to hear what led me to speculate that that was going to be the situation as the weekend got underway on and we are going to talk a little bit more about mr venezuela's here in a moment both on track and off track burst though. I don't want to take anything away from our race winner. So let's begin our discussion with fabio coiro who once again had a phenomenal race this time though it was followed by the worst victory celebration in moto. gp history. What was that. I don't even know what he was trying to do there. I mean i know he was trying to hit a golf ball. But why i mean. What about absence screams golf. Maybe there's something about the netherlands. I don't know maybe it's a huge golf country and that's why he was trying to do that celebration. It was a massive fail though. In fact it was the only thing that went wrong for bobbio quad. Charro sunday afternoon The only real difficulty that he had in this race was getting by. Petco back ny. But he wasn't the only one who found it difficult to get by the factory. Do comedy writer once he did though it was smooth sailing from there. He pushed hard for a couple of laps. Opened up a sizeable gap. And that was that now. There is kind of an asterix here because maverick than y'all is dig gain on two separate times at the end of the race and initially. I thought that was just managing the lead making sure you had tires to make it to the end however in park firm a quattro did mention some arm issues and if you go back and watch the replay. As soon as he crossed the line he grabbed his right forearm. And kinda massage tip for a second. Could there still be an arm pump issue there. Hopefully not and if there is at least he picked the right time of year to discover it because he's got five weeks now where they could take care of it if they need to go back in and do some more work. Hopefully that's not the case either way though it was an excellent milestone for his career winning such an important race as the dutch t t and it was excellent for his championship as well especially considering that the writer that took that twenty point slot right behind him is not currently one of the guys who's threatening him in the standings and that rider of course was the one that everybody was talking about all weekend. Long maverick theologies and so. Let's talk about maverick. Now as far as the race was concerned. This was a very traditional. Maverick violas race. Not a great start. Good recovery good at the end. The good news from is that the not so great start wasn't as bad as they typically for him. He dropped back to fifth as opposed to dropping to tenth or eleventh or twelfth or fifteenth. And because of that the bounceback at the end was more than enough to put him comfortably on the podium. But let's dig a.

Augusto fernandez fifty nine races five weeks Marco marco bizac raul fernandez Six points Charro Hundred points Fernandez second half fifth twelfth first time eleventh Zeca eighty-five points fifteenth twenty point

"Even though his last podium and his last win by the way was here in two thousand. Seventeen so a couple of years back. Every time that valentino rossi hits the track s in. There is a chance that he could get himself on the podium. In fact i would say this is probably rossi's best chance all year long to get that two hundred podium before the uncertainty of the end of the season. Kenny do it. I'm not terribly confident. But i will say it would be absolutely awesome track where he came up with something extra on sunday and got podium number. Two hundred it would be very very fitting. I'm in the final rider on my radar for this. Weekend takenaka gummy. He's had a very up and down season mostly down and he gambled completely wrong on tires at saxon ring but he was strong here at the end of motoo with a win and a second place result. And eventually he's going to get the ship righted. And i think the fact that marc marquez is running well now is actually going to help nakagomi in some way and honda typically runs. Well here anyway so the second honda is going to be in the mix. I would look for talk. I think this could be a good break the race for him. I would consider him to be very very deep sleeper. Pick for sunday all right so we've talked about the favorites. We've talked about my watch list. Which means we've got one thing left to do. I gotta make some pics and this year has been the craziest year yet. Pick racist although i will say that. I'm not too down on myself. Because i've been in the ballpark sometimes like last week. For instance in my top five i targeted miguel avera marquez. And fabio quattro in all. Three of them landed on the podium. So that's about as good as you can hope for in this particular season with as unpredictable as things have been in terms of not having consistent favorites coming into these tracks and on top of that knowing that fabio culture is writing really really well. But he's coming off the end of a season where he was terribly inconsistent. So it makes it difficult to just say oh fabulous gonna win and then call it a day on like you know two or three years ago when you could do that with marquez. It'd be pretty sure if you don't get it. You're still going to be really really close. So that being said here are my picks my top five for this weekend's dutch t t and s and i'm going jack miller and jack is kind of asleep or here i guess because got another non do coty track but one with a handling portion to it and a little bit more room for the desma stretch its legs. Petco looked great last weekend. Shore but jack's dominance and sector one at saxon ring made me bullish on him so i'm picking him over his teammate. And putting jack miller and fifth for this weekend's race moving on the fourth. I'm going to pick joanne mir. There's no reason. No reason suzuki can't be on the podium. If they can qualify. Well now alex rans is arm is still healing. Even though he's got the better career record here some gonna go a show in. And the only reason i'm not putting him on the podium is because you just don't know what you're going to get out of mere or any suzuki for that matter on any given saturday in. That's going to be the key to his podium chances so that does bring me to the podium and in third. I'm going with marc marquez. He was absolutely stunning last weekend in germany. And i know that that is a mark marquess track but don't sleep on him here either because asan is a really good place for him as well now that he knows how to win again. I think he's going to be in the mix but concerns over his endurance turning around so quickly after a full weekend in. Germany has me a little nervous about the closing laps. Some gonna conservatively put him third in this race. That brings me to the top two and in second. I'm going to go with fabio coiro and this was a tough one for me. Fabio was outrun in germany. For sure and he'll be motivated to try to not let guys like mark and miguel gained too much on him this time around so i think he will be a contender but ultimately i'm gonna bet he gets edged out in what is hopefully a straight up shootout by miguel olivera. He's racing better better than ever right now. And this track has some of the same characteristics as saxon ring just more of it and there's always there's always a surprise somewhere in the dutch. Tt in this could be it so those are my top five for this weekend. In essen fifth jack miller fourth show am mirror and on the podium marquez fabrio quarrel and your winner miguel. Olivera do agree. Do you disagree. You know what to do. Tell me my picks are awesome or the terrible on facebook or it and you can always leave your as well. Let me know who you think is going to win the race. All right so next up we've got a race that means got a post race. Show check back. At the end of the weekend. And i'll recap all of the action in the dutch t emoto three moto to ammo. Gp then give you my take on the race. Then i'll turn the floor over to you. It'll be overturned. Leave your opinions about asset on facebook and read it and we'll talk about him on next week's show as we head into a lengthy summer. Break where i'm sure. We'll have some good silly season rumors and stories to discuss long with some other fun stuff as well. So there's a lot of shows on the way if you haven't done it yet. I would highly recommend you subscribe pseudo. Don't a single one. You can do that on apple podcasts. Google podcasts spreaker. Stitcher player dot. Fm iheartradio..
