"It saban with that out of the way that means got one order of business left a race this weekend and this is going to be such a big such an unpredictable race. Fabio quattro edging away in the championship looking for that opportunity to just kick the door wide open and attractive. He's really not that fond of you've got more marquez. Who has been incredible here in the past looking to recreate some of the magic that we saw a couple of rounds of go back and saxon ring and then on top of all of that. Maverick van y'all is back on the affiliates. Let's talk about all of them. And what i think is gonna happen this weekend as we jump into our full preview of round thirteen of the twenty twenty one motogp championship the aragon gp at motor land aragon. And let's start by talking about this track. Aragon hasn't been around for a very long time but somehow to me at least it has the feel of a more historic more iconic track. Even though it's not and that's simply because they did a great job of designing it you know from that giant block wall. That looks like it's been there for century To the various challenges to allow out that really flows with the surrounding landscape. It's great looking. It's unique and an excellent all around test for riders. You know that now famous wall isn't just there for decoration. By the way that's part of the track up on top of it and that's how much elevation change. There is an arrogant. It's like a ride through the mountains but just a lot faster and you know without somebody crowding onto the double yellow line around a blind corner. The other great thing about aragon is how it mixes things up. The front part of the circuit is definitely more technical varying between mid speed and slower corners. And then things really open up and get more flowing on the back half including that big two hundred mph backstretch that really does even get some slipstream action on the motor gp bikes. But of course motor theory is going to be absolutely mental backstretch. But it doesn't even take that long for things to get going term. One is really fun. It's very hard heartbreaking and after that first lap once things get going. It's the perfect opportunity to outduel somebody on the brakes heading into that one The run up the hill to turn seven is also a great place for action. As is the heartbreaking turn twelve then that left right combo heading onto the backstretch an backstretch is really one of the highlights of this track for me. I mean just heading endlessly down towards turned sixteen there earlier. Get on the throttle. The later you get on the brakes at the end the more of a chance that you can surprise somebody heading into that. Big final bend back to start finish. Dicator of course is going to have an advantage to a lesser extent. Honda on the straight. But this is gonna be our best look yet. At how much zouqi may have gained back with that new rear ride height device are still gonna be losing out to the but maybe quite as much and of course yamaha's can have to make time in that area as well. The coolest part of this track though for me is the quasi corkscrew interns eight and nine tons of elevation change and it leads to a challenging high-speed left-hander that's very phillip island like so all the way around great stuff at track like i said it feels like a more historic track than one. That hasn't really been around that long. So that's where the racing now. Let's talk about the contenders the writers. I think have the best chance of finishing on the podium and this one maybe making it to the top step and taking home that trophy and more importantly the twenty five points and we've got to start our discussion of contenders in this one with fabio charro. Fabio was right in the middle of his late season slump when modo gp landed in aragon for two in a row last year and while he qualified on the polymerase one that was the highlight. He struggled mightily in that first race and only rebounded to eighth the second time around. But it hasn't been all bad for fabio in aragon he was fifth in two thousand nineteen and more importantly things are vastly different this season than they were one year ago at this time actually a little less than a year ago. Fob has been the fastest rider all year long in just when things started to look a little bit suspect in austria will watch brought it right back. Around with his blistering performance in silverstone this race is going to be a little bit more challenging. Thanks to a pair riders. We're going to talk about next but fabrio still for me is kind of the ryder. Beat right now. Even though like i said he's not that enthused about the track he might be playing it. A little bit cagey one way or the other. There's no question that if he can avoid any incidents in this one he'll be in the mix for the podium the entire way from start to finish now for the opposite situation. We need to look no further. The mr mark marquess because we're harare has been absolutely brilliant all year long but isn't good at aragon well with mark his results and his number of retirements this year. Really don't instill much confidence at all but his career at aragon been pretty spectacular in seven motor. Gp races mark has five podiums and every single one of those podium results victory and he's qualified on the pole in five of those seven races as well and yes. He's still working on getting back to being the marquez. That we knew before and there had been a lot of mistakes along the way. Some like last week's run running with martine totally avoidable. That's actually more concerning than the ones that weren't avoidable. But the speed is returning and we already saw what he was capable of back in germany when he gets to attract where he really feels. Confident and arrogant isn't quite saxon. Ring for mark in that respect but is pretty close me and he's really really good here and i think that that confidence in the track combined with speed that seems to be increasing each every round is going to make markelle podium contender. As long of course as he doesn't make any big mistakes now another writer they could easily give fabio run for his money sunday..

"Better strategy a lot of competition and insane qualifying tyres but the downside is it also leads to insane. Rnd costs an potentially safety issues as each manufacturer pushes the edge. More more to try to outdo the other one. And i think the safety issue is more prominent. Now a motor gp but especially the cost issue is a big. They're trying to reduce costs not increase themselves. I'm not sure that the manufacturers would go back down that road for the same reason. I don't necessarily think they will go back down the open issue road as well because the rnd costs just balloon out of control. But that being said. I do think there is room for improvement here. And not just in terms of consistency. I think there's room for michelin to offer a wider variety of tires. Because right now they do hold tire tests. But they're really more focused on verifying safety and really confirming that one tire. One set of tyres isn't completely out in left field as opposed to picking an assortment of tires that will work for different manufacturers so instead of a straight soft medium hard compound based on track temperature. Because really. that's what those compounds are. Most reliant on is the temperature of the track and self taught every manufacturers khanna locked into that hard tire if it's cooler every manufacturers locked into that soft tire and if it's somewhere in between of course the medium instead of really the weather in the track conditions dictating everybody using almost the same tire exclusively. I'd rather see compounds. Geared towards different applications. You know focusing on things like edge grip in rear-drive and hard front breaking addressing characteristics more so than just temperature range something that would give teams more choices to suit their particular bike or riders characteristics without ripping the lid off on specialized tires and testing. So they could accomplish that by instead of bringing one set of tires to the track bringing two or three and yes that would increase the cost for michelin. It would increase the are in d for teams but only to a certain extent far less than having multiple tire manufacturers and what that leads to. So yeah i think. I think i mentioned this before at some point on the program that i think that michelin really needs to kind of expand their horizons a little bit and instead of just going with soft medium hard trying to do some specialized compounds that would help woman you factor or another bitches make even you know. Give everybody something that they can use if they choose to use it and they can really work out and testing what would be the best combination for their bike. All right let's move on. From what happened in silverstone to what's about to happen this weekend. Aragon with the return of maverick. Y'all as a criminal to posted a couple of picks of maverick on the appropriate getting fitted up for the bike and misano. Then there's also a short video that can check out at motogp dot com which you can watch for free. Even if you don't have video pass along with short and very vague assessment by romano abyssinia. No obviously everybody was happy and positive about it. That's why he's going to ride this weekend. and it's kind of interesting that album ciano right off. The bat did say that things went really well because they kinda played it. Close to the vest with andrei ceo. So and it turned out that's because he wasn't getting along with the bikes so much. So romano said it was positive he bingo too far. He was kind of general with this assessment. Does that mean that math was maybe hot and cold on the bike. I don't think so. And i'm sure we'll get a much better picture and have some concrete answers once we do see him on the bike this weekend but like any new writer on a brand new bike wouldn't necessarily expect the world but what should we expect. Well that's what care. Cb are was wondering over on it. Asking ken maverick than y'all is really truly accelerate noting. How much shorter and lighter. Maverick is aleisha. Spa grow and knowing that bike was built for allies to take advantage of it. How might that affect maverick. Like can you get on the bike and do all right away or could lead to another circle and cycle of frustration on the thing where things in this case that i would say are working for maverick in the situation. Apprently as main test rider. This year has been andre the video its yo so the aforementioned andrea who's far closer to maverick in size so i think that helps a little bit. I think that maybe some of the things that andrea will would be the same types of things that maverick would say need to be addressed as well and then the second thing that i think is working to. His advantage is the fact that venezuela's is smaller than ally as opposed to bigger and. It seems that it's easier to adjust to bike to a smaller rider than it is to adjust it to a bigger one. Just ask danilo petrucci about that But pesca potter also mentioned on the throttle style. That ally said that he's had to adopt take full advantage of the horsepower available to the appropriate. Its current form which isn't enough horsepower. So he's got to get on the throttle early early a pesky podcast says that's something that is going to be more difficult for maverick to adjust to. I think it will be for sure now. Of course they do have a new engine on the way to an appropriate might be able to squash that potential. Hang up pretty quickly by getting maverick. That new power plant as soon as they possibly can but it will be interesting either way to see how maverick apps and how quickly he adapts to the new bike because it's definitely not going to be as good on paper as the yamaha that he stepped away from and for a writer that hasn't shown the greatest amount of patients in the past. I don't know month or so s- going to be a pretty big challenge for him. Of course we're gonna find out next weekend. Exactly how well he's going to be able to step up to that challenge super excited for this era gombe round. I'm okay Couple of other things to talk about kobe's posted a link to a chart where he's been keeping stats for facebook group motogp supporters essay. I hadn't heard of them. But i certainly am gonna join if you guys will have me And i love that chart not just because it's all about numbers. Although the numbers are a big part of it. I love numbers but that it makes it really easy to see how consistency is once again playing a pivotal role in the championship. And you can see that chart without having to go all the way to facebook if you don't want to i believe he's posted on reddit and that chart spells it up pretty clearly when you look at. Just how linear of a slope. It is for fabio charro. How is points consistently keep going up but at the same time how so. Many of the other riders lines below him have converged while guys like joy mirror. Brad bender have trended a little bit upwards others like jack miller and petco back. Ni- have really flattened out so while those guys are basically sharing points by interchanging with one another the open space in the graph between fabio quarrels line and everybody else's keeps getting bigger and bigger says a really great chart. I think it really spells out in very simple terms. What fabrio has been able to do that. Nobody else has done this season. And then moving on the dj. Yes i am going on vacation this weekend and i apologize by the way that the shows that day late. I'm kind of moving into this new role at this new job. And i had to work really really late on wednesday night so i didn't have time to record the show and i am going away tomorrow and dj. I wish i was headed for four days in the beatha partying it. Up with mark valentino. There's a party you know andrea nana is going to be there to know. Take me half the time just to get there and then turn around and come right back. There will be beach involved with my weekend for sure but nothing nearly as exotic. It'd be and the dj's poll this week the best type of victory celebration personally. I'm a traditional guy when it comes to celebrating win i think a huge stand up whealy completely rolls. The remmy gardner did do a pretty bad ass burnout. After his moto to win in silverstone. And that's very cool because you don't get the burnouts very often so that one's pretty high on my list as well all right. So let's wrap up the program with some picks and video posted on reddit over the past few days. We'll start with med bay. Seventeen three whose fiancee was making us. All look bad totally tearing it up at the track with her ninja. Three hundred and you may donuts. I'm going to the track with you. You know how to do it. Donuts the morning maybe a couple of cold ones at the end of the day after you're done on track and we'll be like the perfect of course in my world what you experienced. Maybe it will be the exact opposite. My other half wouldn't wanna get anywhere near the bike. But she would definitely love hanging out with the tail wagging pit crew. In fact i showed.

"All the time and of course. Let's not forget that. isn't just signing mavericks in yellows with their inheriting that entire support system to and that may dj. Ask the question. If you were in charge of apprecia-. Would you hire maverick fan less. And i already kind of give away with what i said a little bit earlier but i agree with what the vast majority of the people who responded to dj. The dj himself said that. Yeah you have to sign maverick. If you can get him you know. They're not that many writers available that one races and while andre dot. Co so isn't option. Who has he's way older. He's out of practice. And you know. Maverick is one this year so in the kind of expand what i was saying a little bit earlier you take the writer and all of his potential along with the baggage that may come along with it because turmoil or not. He's still the best rider that appropriate has ever had. And when you look at how johann zarco came through that kim debacle the bounce back do coty and do it with humility. Then there's reason to be optimistic. Even if there's arco situation by johann zone emission is way way different than what maverick is going through right now and i would actually argue. That maverick is taking as big or maybe even a bigger risk than affiliate is because think about it if it doesn't work out if maverick doesn't perform well apparently can simply go on the hunt for another rider and a much bigger twenty twenty three cities market but for venezuela's if he struggled he may not be able to find an offer that he likes for twenty twenty three. You know the same way that guys like lorenzo and dovy couldn't find offers on those top level bikes for those dedicated teams that they were looking for. So the stakes are high for maverick. But yeah if i'm in charge of a i gotta sign venezuela's the only exception being if i think that maybe dovy could some more merge and more bikes to the hometown crowd in italy which obviously a really don't feel that because they didn't sign him. They signed maverick instead. I'm so now. Changing over from maverick to the omaha side of the situation since this comment really kind of goes along with the mavericks thing Mike go and xyz they both posted a link to an article on the race that confidently says the crutch low will move over to the factory yamaha team and takeover for maverick penola. Starting next weekend at silverstone while fellow-countryman. Jake dixon will be tapped from the motoo team to make his motor. Gp debut on home soil with petronas. Now obviously there has been no announcement yet. As of the time. That i'm sitting here doing the show. At least but i would not be surprised in the least at this point. If that's the direction yamaha goes. I mean we'll talk here momentarily about what yamaha stands to gain or lose with maverick either on the grid for them or sitting on the bench and watching but in a scenario where things are done between writer manufacturer at that point it makes no sense for yamaha to have their official test rider plotting around at the back of the pack on an old bike that he can't test new parts with win. The latest stuff is sitting quietly unused in the number twelve garage so you put cow on the bike where he actually can get some tests. Mileage out of this unexpected assignment. And if i were yamaha i would think you know what maybe we start giving guys a tryout on the petronas spike almost like an audition for the motor. Gp gig starting with dixon. That plays well to the home audience. And even if he's the best prospect. I mean we've all seen his stats motive to at least you can get a feel for his aptitude and whether maybe things would be different if he made the jump and then they can do the same thing with their and bender as well if they truly are considering having him jump from moto three all the way up to the premier class and honestly both of those guys are already in house at patrol us and with both already out of their respective championship races and petronas going away. We'll talk more about that here. In a moment there at stopping any current momentum that they have emoto to motari respectively and give him a shot and then there are other. Riders could give a shot to as well. And we'll talk more about those riders coming up in a minute to so that of course would mean been y'all as is indeed sitting out if that is the case if that article from the race is spot on but is that the best idea to have maverick not come back for the rest of the year. So let's talk about that because of course it's one of the biggest unanswered questions as of right now whether yamaha is going to allow maverick fan. Y'all is to get back on the number twelve bike after he had a chance to fess up and then sit in the corner for a while and think about his actions or if that's it and they're messing about with him for the rest of the year and i don't think that's a clear cut decision really. I know based on actions based on the signing. It seems like they're probably going to have him sit out. But i don't think it's that easy of a decision for yama because on one hand he's really not acted in yamaha's best interests and even if you chuck out the engine thing is being inconsequential in personally. I wish something worth two hundred thousand. Plus euros was inconsequential in my life. He's now shown on multiple occasions in germany and styria two of the last three races that he's not opposed to simply giving up and not trying to get a result but on the other hand. If maverick is willing to ride the way he's capable of riding then he is yamaha's absolute best shot at winning the team and constructors championships now of those. The team title is the one where he can really make a difference. And that's because of the point structure. There is a chance that yamaha may be able to win the constructor title relying almost entirely or entirely on fabio charro since only the score of the top rider for that manufacture accounts. I'm especially if when franken morbidelli comes back. He can have a decent finish to the season in case there some slack to pick up on the fabio side but in the team championship no matter who yamaha replaces maverick fan. Y'all is with the potential won't be the same in that. Championship considers the points a both riders and factory to kati premed. Coty they both have to riders capable of scoring big points any weekend and ktm have now shown that ability as well although factory coty i think is really the biggest threat here and no matter. How well he may run the rest of the year. Fabio quattro can't hold off both factory. Do cody. Riders are both pray. Macrumors are both riders all by himself. Just too big of a task. So if you're yamaha what do you do it really all comes down to the team championship in nothing but that if they wanna win that team championship. They're going to need the trust. Maverick and put him on. The bike mean. They've got a little bit of a lead right now. But that's going to evaporate quickly if they don't have in yellows out there and in another way mave could help protect fabio's championship lead if he runs well by taking points away from other potential contenders although he may not be terribly enthusiastic about that. We don't get me wrong. You wouldn't be a thing he consciously did. It's just a side benefit. If he goes out there and he performs well so from the team championship perspective. Yamaha has to put maverick on the bike. But part of it boils down to twenty twenty two and their plan testing as well because if yamaha have some really juicy new stuff that they wanna start hashing out for next season. They're not gonna want to see that and then take that information off to apprecia- so we'll make much more sense to have him set. Put crutch low on the bike. Now you have your test or test even if it's at the expense of results and very likely team championship in the end. Now not what. The priority is right now for yamaha. It's hard to say what they're ultimately going to pick although conversely based on what they pick it's going to be pretty easy to know what their priority is. I'm but given the apparently announcement and the timing of it..

"Is an either of the factory guys but rather johann zarco and no other do. Coty writer has been able to mess with johann this season. He's led the way for the pentagon with four podiums. All of those second place results an average finish of four point zero with only one. The nf himself is well like bag. The only thing he's lacking right now is a victory and that's why he still unable to match fabio although he's only thirty four points behind he is within striking distance But beyond that. Everything's going better than i'm sure. Even do khadi themselves had expected with zarko. I mean outside of all the second place finishes he also has a pair of fourth and his worst to results are a pair of eighth place finishes. And that's it now. Of course he needs to win to be able to compete with fabio charro and that actually brings up to questions number one. Ken zarko erases number two. Can he win the championship. Looping all the way back to what. Chris said at the beginning of the comments of the answer to the first question. Yes i think he can win. His bike is on par with factory guys. He's shown that he's plenty fast enough. And he certainly has got both the experience and the motivation to show the rest of the paddock. That they made a collective mistake passing on him. Well not ktm but all of the other so yeah. I think that he is capable of winning. Race was going to be a lot of competition if he will but he is capable of it the second question about the championship well. That's a much more difficult one. You know a satellite rider. Winning a title is unlikely. All by itself even with is good as we know fabio Toronto is he couldn't do it last year But then you add into that. The idea that jack miller and petco back. Ni- are still very much capable of getting back into this championship race. Then you have to worry about team. Orders a manufacturer support and all of that potentially becomes issues for someone like zarko because a prima kreider is going to lose that battle every time to one of the factory guys. So the thing that's arco needs to do is keep writing the way he has been but also find a way to turn some of those second-place results into wins because the only way to combat potential team mortars is to be far enough ahead. That takata has no choice but to back him over the other riders that they probably have more invested into in terms of both money and resources. So that leaves us one more. Do cloudy rider to talk about who. Hey martine and it hasn't been the best start to her hey martines motor. Gp career however. Don't let that full you. The kid is still incredibly fast. The guitar podium was no fluke. Obviously getting injured immediately after that in portugal derailed his season. and it's been a slow progression back full strength now that he's gotten back on the bike in fact and asked him. I think he retired because of physical pain. But we've got a five week break. And that should do him a world of good and coming back at a big cod track in. Austria really gives her. Hey the perfect opportunity to get his season back on course now. I don't expect them to hop on the podium or anything right away but getting into the top. Ten is a realistic first. Step and then once he gets back to full strength. I absolutely think that he'll be a challenge for top five. Finishes the rest of the way in that do coty is going to be able to make a push in both the manufacturer and the team championship. They'll be able to keep up with fabio but they've got a really good shot because they have so many talented riders capable of finishing on the podium. So we moved from there to suzuki coming off their i mode. Gp title in twenty years. There was a lot of momentum. There's a lot of enthusiasm coming into twenty twenty one and will pretty much. All of that has evaporated by now instead of the championship providing a springboard the bigger and better results more wins. They haven't won a race yet. Champ joanne mir only has three podiums and alex ryan's has battled wrecks an injury and doesn't have a podium to his name in the first time races and strangely enough. The bike that everybody thought was the best in the paddock. At the end of last season has actually fallen behind the others technically. They're the only manufacturer without a proper whole shot device to have a front one but they have nothing in the rear for the start of the race at a time. Where every other manufacturer has an adjustable ride height device that they can use the entire race. Not just on starts. Alex rans says that one fact alone is costing them three or four tenths a lap critical time for a manufacturer. That was already struggling in qualifying. And they're questioning their own setup as well rinse had already moved back to his twenty twenty seven for us in and said he felt more comfortable on it now. The thing is that neither mere nor rin's are really slow. Once they get into the race mir has moved up. A ton of positions and rinse has been emporium contention multiple times. He just simply rex but their technical disadvantages. Being compounded in qualifying are really just putting them in too big of a hole to climb out of on a regular basis. That's where the problems start now. Joanne mir says that. Wd behaviors unexpected exit over the off season to go to formula. One isn't the reason that's behind. He said hey..

"Gonna sit out for a year no way. I mean after watching. What happened with. Andre david also so far in watching what happened with where he lorenzo. He's not gonna sit out at least not with the serious intent to come back embrace in two thousand twenty three. He won't be relevant at that point. I mean we've already seen that happened to multiple riders now so if it probably is his only option for next season. Then it's going to be one or two choices. He the racist for them. Where he pulls a casey stoner any bills before you even turns twenty seven and obviously the odds are strongly on him wanting to continue racing. Which means a really a bud. You never know. I mean if maverick is feeling particularly moody maybe he just watched a bunch of videos of lynn jarvis or something. Then i wouldn't totally rule out the ladder of him. Saying you know what you're gonna throw my hands in the air. I'm done i don't like the media anymore. I don't like the circus anymore. I don't like you know trying to battle with my manufacturer anymore. I'm just gonna take my money and go sit on a beach somewhere and again. I'm not saying. I think that's going to happen. I think he's going to raise for appropriate but there is that one little percent of a chance. Maybe he draws a line in the sand digs its heels in and says no for better for worse. Take him balling going home or go the world superbike or something like that. I'm alright so that does it for the motor. Gpo news now. Let's move on to some of your comments and obviously a few of you wanted to talk about maverick vanilla and we'll get back around to him in a minute. I i wanna start with chris over on facebook who looking at the second half of the season in light of the first part of our midseason review kind of ask the general question of. Hey who is your favorite right now in the championship. Fabio charro or johann zarco and. He wasn't just asking me. He was asking everybody which is good. Because i really don't have a preference per se. I just wanted to be an exciting battle down to the wire. I wanna see valencia and import amount. Make 'em whatever other race is at the end of the year Make a real difference in the championship. I would love to have it come down to the final lap but that being said i absolutely think it would be a bigger surprise a much. Bigger surprise is zarko. Wanted for sure. Satellite team a writer. That was one hundred percent on the outs barely hung onto asleep moto. Gp by pretty much sucking up his pride and going to eventually it will be quite the story for sure and not just quite the story for johann zarco but for do too because they throw him a lifeline. They did him a favor by giving him that seat. And right now he's paying the back of course who knows what's going to happen when we get down to the end of the season if the factory writers are involved how that's all going to work out but if it truly does come down zarco and fabio quarrel and zarko where the win the championship. Not only would he be vindicated but do cardi would look like geniuses to now of course the flip side of that coin is fabio winning in his first. Try on the factory team. That would be huge. That would immediately peg him as a potential challenger or successor to marc marquez. Atop the sport but it would certainly be less of a surprise overall for a factory yamaha rider to win the championship especially one with wins under his belt. Already both riders. They'll do for me carry longer term questions about consistency into the second half based on their recent history. Because no matter how awesome. They've looked so far. There is a chance that either one of those riders or both really could stumble in the second half so that it also means there's an opportunity for some other writers to enter the fray potentially as well and not just including both of the factory. Do kati riders. But i would there. Miguel olivera in there. And maybe even someone like joanne mir as well and of course we'll talk about a majority of those riders coming up here when we get to the second half of the show. I'm all right so now. Let's talk about some silly season stuff. Tim over on. Facebook said that a dutch website kind of added some fuel to the fire started by kevin schwantz last week or the week before that suggesting some sort of defacto swap between yamaha and suzuki where maverick fan. Y'all as woodhead home to the star team and then alex rin's would vacate the seat for vanilla is to come in by making the move over to yamaha taking over the petronas spike. They created by franken morbidelli after he gets promoted to the factory team now. The dutch site said that they kept an eye on maverick the entire him weekend and notice that there were multiple occasions where he wandered down the paddock and was seen having serious conversations with some of the people at zucchini and they thought not a whole lot of it at the time. But then in the wake of the kevin schwantz suggestion if auto. Hey maybe there's something to this. And i will admit that. Yeah it does. Spur on some interest here in certainly some speculation but i still see that kind of scenario as one. That's very unlikely the play out mostly because there are so many moving parts. I mean you've gotta get to manufacturers into xueqian yamaha. Three modo gp teams into factory level riders to all agree to the same set of terms. And what the span of. Maybe a month or month and a half. That's hard enough to begin with. And i think the biggest roadblock here is the fact that the relationship between suzuki and rennes is in the bab one. I mean we haven't even really seen any friction. at all. between suzuki and alex rennes. let alone. The kind that we've seen not just this season but over the past couple of seasons with maverick venezuela's in yamaha. So where's the motivation on that side to break a contract early you know. And that's not a one sided thing. Either i mean in that scenario. It's not like suzuki picks up the phone and says to alex runs. Hey you've been traded the maha. I mean it's not a football team. You know both sides would have to agree that this is the best thing to do for their respective futures. Just maverick in yamaha did. And because of that. I'm not exactly sure if i'm alex. Rinse why. I would willingly agreed to leave a factory team to go to a yamaha satellite bike. That has a grand total of one podium in eighteen combined races this year. So it's good for everybody except for alex rennes. But that's not good enough. It has to be good for everybody across the board to get all of those respective parties to agree. So well that's might be the perfect one for maverick vanilla. He might be all in on that. I if i'm being perfectly honest i think rizzoli over petronas would love to have alex rings on board you know they could easily get back to that place. Patrol was at in twenty twenty. But unfortunately i think this is yuki side would be the hold up making something like that happen. Because i don't think suzuki really wants to break contract with a rider that they really have no serious problem with and more importantly. I don't think that alex rene's is going to willingly. Demoted himself. Just to make maverick. Penola is happy now at the end the next year..

"And i'll tell you man those all look great if you're ready to go check out the pictures but of those three that cafe mod man. That thing is killer. That's the only way to describe it and with me having the motive week bike. I've looked a lot a cafe style projects when it comes to do qadis of that vintage and your bike proves that a single sided swing arm. Swap is not mandatory for an early two thousands. Duke cafe racers so many of them have those. I think they get them off of monsters. I want to say. I dunno but one way or the other so many of those early two thousands do coty cafe. Mods they go with a single sided. Swing arm makes no difference. Your bike proof that it looks great either way. The last thing i noticed in those pictures was the swing arm on the bike. Everything else that was going on was what caught my attention. Oh and by the way al teen is adamant that when we talked about his nine nine nine our last week that the fenders weren't off his bike so he could fix some very expensive broken bits. And when i was looking at that picture. I did forget that it was a nine nine nine and i can't say firsthand because i've been had one but i have been warned multiple times. Boucaud people that you're going to get something a little older late nineties early. Two thousands that the nine was far better and far more reliable of a motor than the nine one six. But obviously i did not listen. And now i must suffer through the night one six. I should go the other direction. I should do. Exactly what fifty nine base man is done. And i don't know baseman is this means it's the end of the toronto or if this is an addition to the toronto but if it is indeed the end while you have picked a fitting fitting successor that's on the way with the twelve ninety super-duper gt. We definitely need picks when it arrives but they were fantastic engine and even though the tono isn't nearly as backbreaking in punishing as yours fee. Four i would think that the argos on the ktm would be even more relaxed. It would be better for long distance riding. I'm anne you're not giving up much in the looks department either so i cannot wait to see that new bike Super craig one. I am totally totally intrigued by this twelve hundred of yours. The paint job on the tank in that teaser photo is just filled with old school. Goodness and i know that's the factory or some representations of the factory paint scheme but i really dig it and it hints that photo that you posted hints that there's a lot more going on with that bike and of course that was confirmed by the mile long list. Mods that you have on it. And the best part about super craig's czar. He uses it eighty percent of the on track. And i think it's super cool when someone takes a bike out to the track that is in what you would expect to see. That's not your traditional track bike. And i would bet that there are more than a few sport bike riders who have wondered. What the hell was that. That just passed me. Because i sure as hell wasn't someone on an r. one or something like that And speaking of being at the race track race onto. I'm pretty convinced that you actually live at the track which would pretty much be the best life ever to be able to live at a track especially fat both car and a bike there that you could take out anytime you wanted to But that old school norton you caught on camera. There is seriously awesome. It sounds great. And i would actually be kinda nervous to have been bike like an old norton or maybe like in our seat thirty or something like that and take it to the track. Because i would be so nervous. That i would do something wrong. Lay it down and ended up breaking something that you just can't get any more or is impossibly difficult to get. But i do understand the allure because i do bet it's fun i even if you're going a little bit slower than the modern stuff and there's somebody here that has a vintage sukey oil. That's up in new england that he takes so the track all the time and that thing sounds absolutely amazing ripping down the front stretch. And that's what that norton reminds me of vintage wise. Obviously not the two stroke part but it's so cool to see. Oh bikes like that at the track. It's so rare that you see like say a vintage car out at ray stainless monterey or vintage day or something like that but a vintage bike like that norton like the old suzuki seems so much more accessible to somebody. Like you and me to be able to take out there and have some fun with on the track right so that'll do it for the comments and pick some video. If i didn't get to yours chances. Are you posted it in the past couple of hours or sometime earlier today before i sat down to record But don't worry. I'll get it on the next episode and keep posting. Those questions says comments topics of discussion. And we'll get to him on next week. Show all right. So let's wrap things up today by kicking off our motor week. Twenty twenty one midseason review. We've reached the very lengthy summer. Break the halfway point of the two thousand twenty one motor gp season. It's time to take some stock of who's doing well who's not in more importantly what we can expect from the manufacturers and the riders heading the next season so we're going to do motor. Gp in two parts this week. We're going to take the first third and fifth place manufacturers in the constructors points and next week. We're going to do two four and six. So next week to kati. Suzuki and apprecia-. We'll talk about the manufacturers in the riders. After that then maybe we'll talk a little bit about motoo emoto three since we have a couple of extra weeks or summer break this week though we're talking about one three and five and those manufacturers of course are yamaha. Ktm and honda. So let's get to it. let's start our motorway. Twenty twenty one midseason review. We're gonna kick things off with the manufacturer leading the constructor points heading into the break and that's yamaha and when you take a step back and you look at what yamaha hasn't has not accomplish this season it does make you wonder whether are going great for yamaha this year. Or are they going terribly for those guys because on one hand we've got fabio charro who has absolutely taken off in his first season in factory. Leathers and legitimately given yamaha their best shot at winning a motor gp championship. Since two thousand fifteen but on the other hand the entire rest of the organization is falling apart. Quite literally a maverick fan. Y'all is of course announcing he'll get out of his contract a year early franken morbidelli suffering from a knee injury and performing nowhere near the level. He was at at the end of last season. And then there's valentino rossi. Who just isn't himself at all. I mean even compared to this point a year ago where he at least had some top fives and podium. He's been nowhere near that. This time around now. The majority of the writers yamaha do agree that the bike still needs work. But that's kinda complicated. By the fact that bobby has been so overwhelmingly. Good and the danger here is that the marquez effect can set in for yamaha where they fall into this false sense of security that hey the bike is fixed we can move onto other tasks simply because one writer is somehow able to effectively work around whatever issues. They are having on track for their other riders. And you throw on top of that. The idea that maverick may be checked out for the rest of the year mentally and some would argue. He has been checked out the entire year. Mentally that's going to make it more possible for yamaha. Fall that trap because on one side of the factory garage. You've got a guy who's tearing things up podiums. All over the place wins on the other side of the garage. They have a guy who's inconsistent and struggling but they may just chalk all of that up to he's disgruntled. He doesn't have his head on straight. he's out the door anyway. So it's not our fault. It's his and they need to be cognizant of that and yamaha's focus needs to be twofold in the second half of the season task number one and this is the number one thing for yamaha. Despite what i just said is don't do anything. Drastic enough to disturb. Fob ios somewhat fragile equilibrium on the bike right. Now don't screw that up even though it could screw everybody else up. He's so far out ahead of those other guys. You don't wanna risk that that's number one number two tried to do their best to improve the bike for valentine rossy youssef rossi not vignette says why. Well it's obvious now because rossi is very likely going to be their second most motivated writer on the current year bike. They're not really going to be able to lean on. Maverick detest stuff. And they're going to want to lean on maverick because you know the parts and the secrets that they impart to him are just going to go somewhere else so now. It's actually super important that they focus on valentino rossi. Because if you test out parts and stuff with fabio you could screw that all up so you do that with rossi instead and you try to get the bike better for him. Hoping if that improves the entire program no matter what..

"You go back. If you have video pass you can watch his post-race comments but it sounded to me like he simply gave up. He mentioned that there were so many decoders in front of them. You can't pass it this track. And now i will refer you back to brad bender and petco back ni- bender who started. What did i say. Thirteenth and finished fourth. Petco by was as far back as sixteenth outside the points altogether and finish fifth. So you can't say that you can't pass here and it's also really hard to say that the is terrible here because while a guy riding the same bike is valentino. A maverick finished on the podium. The really really troublesome part are a couple of different moments during this race in the highlights. Package one where maverick fan. Y'all is riding by his pit. Board in the middle of the race was not after the race flinging his hand up in the air and another time where he just one hundred percent botched it in the term one and let everybody go by him and didn't even look like he was trying to get any of those positions back. That's very very concerning that. It looked like multiple times. he simply didn't care to try or at least it should be concerning for yamaha. Another racer to like this. And i don't know we might have some very interesting silly season rumors to talk about but it is clear. The maverick violas has gone from the high of winning the season opener in qatar to now the low of being one hundred percent completely in his own head and not able to shake it. And it's really really surprising. Seeing how his teammate fabio charro who is also susceptible to having you know things knocking his psyche out of line and having that affect his performance on the track fabio has been able to carry on even when he had the arm pump problems even when he had the penalty problems. He was able to continue on him. Recover from each of those situations in short order. Then y'all as on the other hand seems to be spiraling right now and yamaha have to step in and do something. And if they don't and if maverick doesn't turn himself around then. I don't know what's going to happen at the end of the year. I don't think we're going to be in another andre decio slash johann zarco calcium slash or. Hey lorenzo honda situation but you never know it is motogp after all and the way. That maverick was talking after this race. Leads me to believe that just about anything could happen. And even qualifying in q. One he was shaking his head again when someone went out to follow him this person that he was shaking his head. At was valentino rossi. And if there's someone you don't need to be concerned about in q. One if you're maverick. Fan ya'll is. It's valentino rossi. He'd been incredibly slow all weekend. Long up to that. Point and maverick did not need to be worried at all. That he was gonna give rossio. That was going to give alain vigneault in the queue to while he started somewhere down the grid but yet he was leading that get to him so very very interesting situation with maverick daniela's and yamaha right now. Just maverick fan. In general yamaha. Or not and i would be very interested to hear what you have to say on both right at facebook so make sure you leave those comments on the situation all right so the podium and this one marc marquez seemingly comes out of nowhere to shock the moto g paddock the same time announcing his return to the ranks of the podium finishers and preserves his unbelievable saxon ring win streak it now stands at eleven overall and eight emoji. Who would have thought coming into this. That this is what we were going to be talking about leaving germany a second miguel olivera yet another fantastic grace as we watch this young rider poised to take the step to the next level now that he finally has a capable bike and then fabio quadra rounds things out the happiest. He'll ever be in third by the way since he wasn't giving up points to anyone who can threaten him in the championship. And hey speaking of those points. Let's talk about the title race. Obviously marks wind doesn't help him a whole lot in the championship but it also more importantly doesn't hurt bobble quarrel who actually extends his point lead. The twenty two overs johann zarco with one race to go before the summer break. Jack miller is now thirty one out in third and petco back. Ny is one point further back than that in fourth at minus thirty two. Then we get to the riders. That really need to step things up if they want a chance here. Defending champ. joanne. Mayor is forty six points out and after scoring nothing. This weekend. maverick been. Y'all is fifty six points back in only one ahead of miguel olivera a by the way mark is up the tenth overall. He does trail by ninety points. I think that's a little too much but it is more marquez. He keeps reading like this. You never know So my take on the german. Gp well as far as the action was concerned once again moto three stole the show but when it comes to drama modo jeep all day. Long really Season saw what may be a huge pivot. That may not change the championship contenders. But it certainly could have a profound effect on the championship picture with a pair of riders in the form of martin marquez and miguel olivera showing us all that they're capable of coming in and taking big points from any of these guys that are at the top of the standings right now and of course we saw the main chapter play out in the biggest moto. Gp comeback story in years with marc marquez in the span of a year going from not knowing whether he was even going to be in the sport or not to getting back on the top. Step of the podium. Now we look forward. I really hope that motoo shows us a bit more in terms of action when we get to asan a few days from now but if they can draw a little bit of the wildness moto three and then pull in some of the intrigue of motogp he. Well then they'll have something interesting next week. One way or the other saxon ring was exciting for me. And the potential is there for the dutch. T t to take that up one or maybe even two notches. So that's my take on the german. Gp what did you think. Well leave your comments on facebook and read it and we'll talk about them on the full show later on in the week where we also start preparing for our next race with a full preview of the dutch. Tt in happening one week from today whilst to talk about the latest motor gp news. And don't forget. Andrei does next really attest wednesday and thursday now. It'll only just started. By the time i record the show so i may not have a whole lot to say about it but hopefully we'll know something by the time i start recording in if something big does happen with doe v after the show with. Don't worry i'll post update on friday heading into the weekend if there's something to talk about all right so there are a lot of episodes coming up not only do we have the dutch prix ratio but we have the post ratio in there could be adobe update in between which it miss a single one. "He wasn't able to continue that charge all the way till the end but he still did finish closer to mark than any other writer in the german. Gp since dani pedrosa back in two thousand fourteen. So if only i hadn't been so lost to start the season. I think miguel would be in the title race right now and at the very least i hope that the people that thought that me go as a little bit of a fluke last year because you know. He capitalized on the battle at the front to win in austria. And then of course. He wanted his home. Track in portugal. At least be convinced that those were not flukes mean outside of the fact that winning two races typically isn't a fluke but then coming back the next season and having a run like he's having right now certainly should solidify him in most people's minds as a podium threat and a writer that you're not surprised to see at the front of the field. I'm now bobbio. Quarrel was also quietly impressive in this race. He wasn't as confident of his chances. As maybe i was in my picks because picked him the win. Although i shouldn't be mentioning that right now At the beginning of this on fabio looked like he might actually fall back outside the top ten which wouldn't have been all that surprising seeing how the other yamaha riders feared. We'll talk more about them in a moment but fabrio recovered quite nicely. Embrace any opened up just enough of a gap to comfortably finish third. Which as we'll talk about in a minute could potentially be pretty big for his championship. Seeing as both of the writers who finished in front of him aren't a threat to his title. Chances at least not right now. i'm now another either. I wanna talk about who will inevitably be hidden under the prominent shadow of marquez. His victory is the other factory team rider. Brad been there. And i'll admit my thought that bender's back it in writing style could land this some trouble at the saxon ring. But he and that. Kim chassis handled the task. An excellent style bender started thirteenth in this race and a legendarily difficult track. The pass blazed all the way up to seventh on the start and then after kind of holding that spot forever made his move with about ten to go getting all the way up to fourth his best result of the air and speaking of moving up through the field. A guy who hadn't even bigger come back in this one. Petco back naive. He started tenth but had a terrible start dropping back to sixteenth by lap. Three before starting on an epic recovery. That was well documented by the world becoming tater so i won't rehash all But he was turning him podium quality laps from about thirteen all the way to the end and came back to theft from sixteenth. Now that's not gonna help him too much in the championship but it was still very good and very encouraging result especially in his internal competition with the other cody riders and keep bender. Petco bagai in mind. I'm going to bring them both back here in just a moment when we talk about another manufacturer but i i do want to say how bad i felt for aleisha spago in this one. He looks so good at the beginning of this one battling marquez for the lead early on now. I didn't really expect him to maintain that or finish on the podium. But i did think he was strong enough late enough into the race that i thought he might be able to hold on for a previous first top five. Unfortunately that didn't happen but they're getting closer. They just need to get the tire management down and keep that pace all the way until the end of the race. Maybe this next test session with andrea. Also next week it's going to help them take another step forward to get to that point. I mean i want to talk about a couple of manufacturers. To suzuki had a very mediocre day was joanne. Mir ninth and alex rings eleventh which is understandable with the state of his arm. Eleven his action not that bad but still overall not the type of performance that suzuki wanted at a handling bass track like the saxon ring is they should have done way better. And both of the riders admitted that they should have done way better as well and then for honda. They actually didn't have a very good day at all outside of mark. And how's that for a throwback by the way poll spago was the next best honda rider tenth takenaka gummy finished thirteenth after gambling on a software tire. I guess hoping that it was going to rain eventually. During the race one way or the other that turned out to be the absolute wrong decision to make and then alex marquez wrecked out of the race in an incident within illiteracy and then we get from those guys to yamaha who outside of bobbio quad. Charro were terrible. I mean they were like shockingly bad valentino. Rossi was fourteenth. he was the best finisher. The best yamaha finisher outside of fabio charro and the podium was fourteenth franko. Morbidelli was eighteenth and maverick daniela's after starting a dismal twenty ended the race nineteenth. He was dead. Last of the writers. Running at the checkered flag. Now did hear the riders post race comments and it was very interesting and a little bit troubling the interesting part valentino. Rossi said he generally felt good but he lost a little bit of grip in the final five laps so it can only get so far before he got mired down traffic franken. Morbidelli blamed his poor finish on a bad starting spot and then not being able to close in on bikes getting into corners. Tried to make up spots. And then there was maverick daniela's.

"Week and i want to welcome to new members over. Unpatriotic david amd byron. Thank you guys so much. I really really appreciate it. It's a big week. We got the one k. We got more patrons so want to say thank you to everybody out there listening to the show when it first started. I figured that. I just pretty much be sitting here in a room talking to myself for the rest of my life and i probably will be but at least it's good to know that i'm not only talking to myself that there are other people out there. That are just as bad as i am all right. So let's get down to business the rundown just about everything we're going to talk about on this episode of the show we're going to start with motor. Gp news in the first half of our conversation about fabio charro did fabio deserve the black flag. The first person we're going to hear from fabrio himself and you may be surprised what his opinion is on the entire situation. Then we'll move onto the catalunia motor gp tests. We'll talk about results and what everyone was working on. And there were some new parts that were rolled out in this one day session. Then we'll hear from marc marquez. Who not only was talking about wrecking yet again. This time in catalonia. Also talked about some of honda's issues in twenty twenty one and we'll kind of relate that back to what they were working on in that one day test then a big announcement when it comes to moto three because once again development is frozen for another year and then they're actually going to roll out new updates on a schedule after that. Is this new playing good or is it bad. We'll go over the details. And i'll give you my opinion then. Went dive in this silly season news because a neighbor jeannie may have a deal done for twenty. Twenty two and maverick daniela's stirs up a little bit of controversy talking about his plans for the future. Then we'll transition from there over into your comment and there were so many things that you guys wanted to talk about. I'm going to apologize in advance. Because i'm probably not going to get to everything you wanted to talk about. Fabio of course we'll get your opinions track limits. Ktm's recent surge in performance. A honda as a concession seem next year could happen. What will discuss that in a few other topics that you guys wanted to talk about before finishing up the show with some and video and then we'll talk about what's going to happen on the show next week. So let's get going with the main attraction the person that everybody was talking about ever since sunday afternoon in catalonia bobbio harare. Now we're gonna talk about some of your comments here in a minute because there were a lot of them and i think that the vast majority were married it and i think that the vast majority were also all of one opinion. That fabio's should have been black flagged last sunday afternoon and not only. Do i agree with you though. Fabio himself agreed with you. And that's what we're gonna start our discussion. Because as if he was reading all of our minds during the post ratio show a couple of days ago. Fabio admitted after. Monday's catalunia tests. That not only did he. Put himself in danger but specifically considering what happened in italy with jason to pass gay that he feels that race direction should have thrown the black flag on that would have been the correct thing to do after his came unzipped or he unzipped his suit. Depending on who. You talk to There are some people including fabio that. Say that the zipper was blown all the way down by the wind but there are others that maintain that his suit only came on sept a little bit but the wind rattling around moved his chest protector and he unzipped his suit. The rest of the way to get at that chest protector. Throw away really doesn't matter though how it got to the state it got in once it was there. Even kwacha are all himself after thinking about the situation said yeah a black flag would have been the best thing to do now. Oddly enough he can admit that after the fact race direction. Not so much which you guys definitely noticed and we'll talk about that more here in a couple of minutes so we didn't really address three second penalty. He didn't contest the three second penalty in this interview but he did however say he disagreed with his initial penalty for exceeding track limits and blowing term. One during his battle with jack miller for the podium. He said hey. I tried to slow down. But how exactly am i supposed to know how long an extra second is in my lap. And like i said on the post ratio. I'll give him that because really that's not a bad argument. It's a little odd to expect a writer to somehow inherently know that they've slowed down not just a little bit but a full second and not too much more than that and definitely not anything less than that. It's a lot more difficult than simply giving up a spot on track which is easy to do because you just watch the guy go by but since this is a track limits related thing. You guys had some opinions on the. We'll talk about later. I think still. These really should be judgment calls. I mean did fabio gain an advantage. Was it an unfair advantage. Was he trying to not gain an advantage after he knew he blew the corner. Now in the end what fabio charro should have done to no one hundred percent that he was going to avoid a penalty is he should have dropped behind jack miller after blowing the corner if he had done that i think that race direction would have been justified in saying that he didn't attempt to gain anything and he made a good faith attempt to give up any ground he may have made up and they may not have given him the time penalty after the race but under the rules that they had to work with. You really can't argue that penalty. I know the fabio wants to but apparently was made clear to all of the riders. That if you blew that combo you were going to get a ride through. And of course it was too late to give fabio ride through so the three second penalty is the next best thing and they applied that equally as takenaka. Nakagomi could explain to all of us. It's not like it was just fob. Yo that was getting hit with this penalty at least one other writer in the motor. Gp race did because of that. It's really difficult for fabio or anybody else to argue that penalty. I think what bobby was trying to say. Here is exactly what i've been talking about the past couple of rounds as we've dealt with these track limits issues in the associated penalties that will fabio wants is for it to be a judgment call for somebody who understands racing and understands what he was trying to do on track to give him a break because he knew he blew the corner and he was trying whatever he could to knock it up the position but also not gain an advantage and i think in a judgment call type of situation. He was still going to get a penalty there because he didn't drop behind jack. But maybe not as much of a penalty as the mandatory ride through indoor three seconds being added to your finishing time. So we'll talk more about fabio coming up in the comments but right now i want to move onto what happened monday afternoon before. Fabio agree with you and me and everybody else about the black flag situation that catalonia motogp tests there was an open test for all teams and manufacturers to cap off the weekend and big surprise after struggling in the race. Maverick venezuela's turned around. And did the thing he's best at. He went out and one practice again. He's the best saturday slash monday rider. Ever a maverick topped the timesheets. With the one thirty nine point four teammate. Bobbio quad sharara was point. One three seven seconds behind in second. Then you had talking. Nakagomi joanne mir peg. Nyah rounding out the top five. Then pull a spa. Grow johann zarco franken morbidelli. Miguel olivera and valentino rossi. Where the top. Ten on. Top of all of those guys marquez. Brad bender luca marini and jack miller were all within one second of venezuela's top time so fourteen guys all within a second of the fastest time in this day and age of motor..
