"Yeah in fact myself about that all right. Let's go to my mom all right. Let's go to Mike Michael. What do you manage a corn maze? Good Morning yes So I've been working at the coordinates for the past five years This was my first year managing So it's a seasonal thing that starts in September ends at the end of October very family friendly event Heard Billy talking about how core macy's were scary on Fridays too tomorrow. It they do seem scare. You have to admit that Michael Well if you're thinking like Stephen King in terms of children of the corn yeah can kind of get it or like cornfields unsealed alien signs idea. Yes however the corner I work at is not necessarily not scary. There is a moonlight version of it where people people pay to go into. May's They bring their flashlights. They do. It's like a little scavenger hunt part of the way there. It's about two acres big or nothing to really be scary about sells else various. Listen to me Michael. That's exactly what you say to lure people into a corn maze and scare the bejesus out of. I mean there's no S- characters there billy. Yeah I mean you can you can come to yourself I can. What is this character? What I'm saying like you already know these things I don't even know about? I'm afraid I like cools and like just animals that are riding the corn and like just getting lost and dying there and now you're talking about Scherzer's well. Haven't you ever been to like Halloween horror nights or anything like that yet doing that. 'cause I was scared but it's not here I mean there's where's this is a very It is in New York York Long Island area between the border of Queens and long island a little Mac Floral Park areas may be familiar with any of these there. It's not just New York. This is something that you walk into. And there's only one correct way to get through it. No not necessarily so We give you like rules like how to go about right because it's part may spark part scavenger hike if you want to try to look for the pieces of the map to the maze. You can do that if you just want to go for the maze. Just to go for Sommese can do that as well. It's completely up to you. Just that varies on like how long it takes that actually go through the maze in general. Yeah this sounds scary. No I'm telling you the only ruin you go through major. Be Get out alive porn. Me and this guy has his own rules trying to trap people with his scare. Michael and by the way I I don't believe that you can grow corn in New York. Can you is. You're actually learning this. I since he opened his mouth. I thought this was a faecal really in a yeah I just thought it was a phoney Bologna the red nose and we need amaze expert and this guy. Jos Google a couple of things your name even Michael and he's faking it. It is Michael I do you manage a coordinators corn mazes instagram page Okay doesn't have an instagram attraction. Attraction doesn't have an instagram page. It it's at the location of the Queens County Farm Museum or Museum Louise Scary but okay okay. Well I mean he researched a real place. Actually a thing. Okay I think Gel checks out but it did take me just as quickly to Google. That would him if you'd like come next year when the Maze Ryokans again visit. That's what I was going to ask you because it doesn't seem like it's is corn season like I didn't know number one that you grew corn in New York and number two. I didn't know what the season would be. But it's winter up when I can not growing corn now when when I entered the corn maize do I go right or left. Okay so Half check out to me guys. I think I'm may explain cheese please. I'm with you cut me off around. Everyone's a little test here. Everyone just needs a breeze. Roy Motion Rona. How about being going on on that should require this sort of angry reaction? What I'm sorry? What do what do I do? I make a left. So come and belief is normally you would make a left and just keep going left as you go into the the maze that is designed for US normally You don't necessarily have to go left. There is a sign that directly points you to go to if you want collect. You don't have to go left. Go right and then Do whatever you like but usually People just try to make their own way just like we try to guide people out because the people that work at the Maze WanNa go home to and the night so we just usually say go go this way Or hugged hugged the left side of the wall at a certain point depending on where you are in the maze but at the start of the Mason. You don't immediately go left. How do you always go left if you WANNA go like the entire your Pathway Journey of the base. How do you design a corn maze? Like how do you settle on what you want it to look like so My boss us the producer that works alongside with the farm they Have like an agreement of like went to grow the corn. They usually the corner around springtime time and the Spring and springtime gang of summertime So that they can start Cultivating pass for it And each year. There's like a certain theme to do it so like my first year. was the year that American Farrell had just won a triple crown so the maze was in the shape of a jockey riding a horse year. Its shape of an apple. The shape of a can This year in the shape of the unisphere the the being monument of Earth Steph in Queens and Flushing Meadows Park near the USO can every year. It's like a different team of like how they decide to design it..

The new Staples delivers solutions to help your team be more connected productive, and inspired. Learn more at Staples dot com slash change. From wondering, I'm David Brown, and this is business wars daily. Happy monday. Everyone put together businesses on four countries in three continents. In what do you have a merger, so massive? It could up end entire industry automaker Chrysler maker of Jeep Dodge Ram and Alfa Romeo vehicles proposed just such a merger to Renault last week. The offer comes after Fiat Chrysler spent years courting other potential partners, including Ford, Volkswagen, and even General Motors. Should the deal go through, it would make the merged company, the third largest automaker in the world following Toyota and Volkswagen? Currently General Motors holes that third-place lot Fiat Chrysler, is seven, the story is a dramatic when almost fit for a movie it involves the son of Italy's richest man, the arrest of a CEO, the death of another and even the president of France now, bear with me here while I untangle it for you. Fiat UC used to be enormous at one time it produced up to seventy percent of all of Italy's cars, its, owner was Playboy's, Yanni Anneli, who was so wealthy in powerful. He was considered the uncrowned king of Italy. According to the Wall Street Journal in nineteen Ninety-seven and yell. He's twenty one year old grandson, John Elkin joined the family business, but FIU, had weakened considerably by two thousand three Fiat was in enormous debt, then Johnny Ellie died, leaving the young L. Con in charge of an ailing empire Elkin convinced his family to increase their investments and bailout Fiat. He also hired a new CEO Sergio Marchi ONA who turned the company around in twenty eleven Fiat was strong enough to acquire the bankrupt Chrysler although successful Marchiani had a reputation for being a brutal negotiator, a reputation that quashed potential mergers, he died last year leaving the diplomatic Elkin in charge. And that opened up the merger possibilities. Meanwhile, Renault has had its own share of drama Renault his long been in an alliance with Nissan, but that alliance has been shaky since the Japanese arrested alliance. EEO Carlos Goan last November on suspicion of financial crimes Goan has denied the charges. Fiat executives say the two companies would share infrastructure and technology, but would not close plants or fire workers, French in Italian unions would have protested layoffs. The Wall Street Journal reports France owns a fifteen percent stake in Renault. The proposed merger is so delicate that Renault ran the idea by French president Emmanuel Macron, mccrone gave his blessing. Renault has responded to yachts bid with interest. The deal comes at a time when every major car company is developing, or already selling electric vehicles, and many have autonomous cars in the lab or on the drawing board carmakers need billions of dollars to develop driverless vehicles one factor prompting off. Oh, exacts to combine their resources. But analysts say a global marriage this complicated could take a year to put together and some observers warn that what looks good on paper can be extremely hard to pull off after all merging technologies is one thing merging personalities and cultures. That's something else in tirelessly. From wondering this is business wars daily. Hey, if you like our show, take a second to give us a five star rating and review on apple podcast. Would you. "I mean, those are the kinds of things that I think are great to be able to be thinking about as we think about national pet month. What are some ways that you can think of that? Maybe as a pet parent, we could be maybe better and even more responsible pet parents. You know, I always think that, you know, there's always yours. I think you could do probably for your pet. So thinking about the things that your pet might need one of the things that always exercise. We're always talking about getting out there and being active, and that's actually one of the benefits of having a pet because they tend to get help get you out and about two so they actually increase your your opportunity for getting exercise and being outside, which is a very good healthy thing or both your pet you. So that's that's always a very good thing. Also is going through maybe a dog park, or you know, being able to go to a patio. I know a lot of restaurants are actually able to now pass the positive passionate a lot of cities where dachshund come with you to dinner. So we didn't want to be able to learn more about getting them out and about and I'm taking them and taking them in a responsible way to be able to to share them to you know. And that's like a really great idea. Because I know that we're we are we live. There are so many pet friendly. Restaurants. I mean, it's it's grown in leaps and bounds. You know, when I first started bringing in my my first diva, so FIU places. Sometimes, you know, we wouldn't we'd have to get stuff to go. They wouldn't let us sit in the outside area. Now here we are in two thousand eighteen there's so many pet front. We bring all of everywhere with us. She goes to all the restaurants that we go to their, you know, we have places that we go through that. She's a regular, and you know, it is just like something. I think that people don't think about 'em. You're right. The exercise part what better way to bond with your pet? Then to do that exercise go out for the walk in it like is kind like one of those double situations. It's like a double whammy because your pet gets the exercise you get exercise. That's why when I walk my dogs. It's kind of an excuse for me. I don't really think of myself getting exercise, but in the back of my mind, I know benefiting from it. But it also it's a great bonding time because as soon as they see me. Going anywhere. We have our leashes on a hook in our laundry room door. We have like one of these have like an Italian greyhound hulk with like five hook sign and federal leashes as soon as they see me put my arm around that door to go inside that room. Forget it. It's like everything breaks loose and they're like going Yay. Mommy's gonna take us out. So it's like it is it's like a great. It's it's such a great thing to bond. It's a great thing to celebrate. So yeah, it's also from the you do with her friends. You have the dog. So again, you know, pets do for us to help us to socialize a little bit more. They give us opportunities to socialize as we get out. And meet other pet owners of people meet us and talk to us about our dogs out about with them..

"The research i've done so i don't know but ohio have not done very well in bowl game they both have great coach kid dared you know you ap's got momentum on their side ohio one they lost their last q they're both down you know both team there swimming with dolphins it's going to be a great game to watch i'm rooting peru hyogo but betting on uab both teams of swimming with dolphins i love that comes into daddy gabbage beautiful both the pro i'm a phone call the problem but the negative 4 ohio use really the mac has not done very well and ballgame going berry litter or six years as a conference and especially you know if there if they're favor know i think last year they were all when six rate up and i want to say three and three against the points but that's because a lot of energy saves done very well coverage you as a pro entering tonight on of course tonight fiu look like they're not going to get the win but it it'd be understandable temple now is able to tee off on third down situations of with with a you know a doubledigit lead but were inaccurate fourteen to three temple thirteen forty ago and they just got the ball back fumbled the the point but recovered it on her own 2003 so our but that the corner of prime what happened the core back alex mugu four florida international went out on the first series got injured and his arms in the swing so see standing next to coach jobs david i've done look good yeah i'm not going to say that the absence of the fiu quarterback almost says that fiu was the right side in this game but you might consider that because you figure that fiu would have had a much better chance and you can could unfold differently but the fact that they've helped temple two of just fourteen points in a game that was projected to be somewhere in the uh in the mid mid to upper 50s suggests that the fiu defense is playing better than expected the fiu offense of course that without there are their quarterback in their uh their struggle their struggles are understandable all right sports at michelle we gotta down your logged in now just so you know everything of course is putting the.

"Extra point and i can't believe down at the end it buzzed it yet have not buzzed the yet to shoot to make sure they're ready to play let shocking snap back extrapoint is up and the kick is good so on a night full of replays here in saint petersburg they did not review that play and if they did it was not a long review our first look at it while a ball got punched out and we have not seen a good angle to show that the ball in fact crossed the goalline cologne college football they're they're looking at every play up there so they apparently looked at that on first view and decided that call was corrected didn't need more time to take a look at it temple now up fourteen to three in a hardfought drive for the odds sabac ways seventy five yards two minutes and forty four seconds so what a big switching momentum fiu goes from their best drive in that game getting points for the first time you said it earlier they're going to look back on that drop third downplay that could have been a touchdown very next dr temple does a nice job marching right down the field to make this thing fourteen three eric who mary is the kickoff with for example people travel from all roughed right tonight and over at and it will be returned notices singleton makes against the by now running to the tab down fakes surpass keeps at fifty roddick slides twenty spent twenty five over the 25 and you'll get met by about four hours a drop short of the thirty yard line the 23 ard's other return four single did and with nineteen seconds left in our third quarter fiu will try to answer now its largest deficit of the night they trailed seven nothing at the break it now are down by eleven points fourteen two three after closing it would have four well we've seen fiu have success with tempo they're going to have to kick it it now because as the clock continued to run and we head towards the fourth quarter they're going to run out of opportunity satanic i would look for fiu to step on the gas a little bit here f i use gonna go with two runningbacks alex gardner lee is back there along with napoleon maxwell however pistol overloaded who left side ahead.

"The rso here we go so get the hour walls of temple who pretty good season after they lost their coach matt rule it done such a fantastic job there ford internationals butch davis right and so they went from foreign aid to eight in four um um i mean he could have a damn nine went season that's pretty impressive dow lee i mean he'll probably he'll probably end up doing really well at florida international before we get some on probation right there are five in wanting to spread their last six as an underdog they have not been to a ballgame since two thousand eleven so the motivation uh they should be sky high for this i'm not implying fiu had some huge rabid fan base but if we are considering location i i think that you know fiu will have more fans there so i think motivation and location favors fiu and they're the underdog and uh i think we have the head coaching advantage so i think uh f i used to play catch and the point that number for everybody out there is uh looks like seven seven seven asked yeah it looks like 10 level is maya seven so we can now we could just in florida international uh plus seven runoff a couple of these others real quick and see if it it just stopped me if you have any opinion on famous idaho potato bowl that's wyoming central michigan and he thought.

"That's awesome at i'm wondering whether there is any evidence even earlier at life that you either i don't know gravitated towards or shied away from leadership opportunities yes so early in life i'd say gravitated towards leadership in vet for my parents are calling ma'am bulk in fiu non rallied people around but again i think it was in arm i wouldn't defined a lot of that is leadership you know maybe it was an inkling of it uh and and also i'm a little bit hard on myself so it's it's it's probably there's a trillion element of that where i know had some innate leadership abilities but just i dunno not to the level that i feel like i'm i know i'm capable of and certainly not to level that i think it takes a to grow a very successful company which is what i feel like i was put on the sort the boop and so i felt like you know i kept the business epiphany for me at the turn of the year like the business has hit a ceiling based on my leadership ability and less i raised my personal ceiling uh it's never going to get any better and i ran really good book called extreme ownership's is by jaakko willing hill says the jaakko podcast very intense guy navy seal um but the book just completely changed my life and he goes through this concept the big stream ownership which you know it's kind of explain in the word a bright a great titled title but it's it's about how you know it was it was a very is a big wakeup call for me it's like you know literally you you you as a leader your job is to own everything.
