How Real Is the Threat of a Russian Invasion of Ukraine?

"We could call this the heritage day. We've got the new present comes in studio to talk to us and of course our loyal national security foreign policy expert he is, of course, doctor Jim colonel carafano preventing World War three one tweet at a time. JJ carrano is his handle. Jim, we got to talk about the Europeans, foreign relations, The White House, but first, the story that nobody's really talking about enough, Russia, Ukraine, are we on the brink of war? Well, Europeans are talking about it. I told you I talked to a number of and they're just gobsmacked about what's going on. So what's going on? Well, so Putin has masked masses of equipment on the Ukraine and in a huge army there. And then he drew some of them off, and now he's sending them back. So there is an army big enough to invade Ukraine. If Putin wanted to evade Ukraine tomorrow, he could do it. And he's sending messages to D.C., saying don't arm the Ukrainians. Right. Don't honor the Ukrainians. Don't have NATO troops. I mean, he's been very intimidating. And this is one of actually 6 or 7 major provocations that the Russians are doing simultaneously. The response to that was to blinken waved his finger at Putin. And if you remember, Putin was a KGB agent and they used to like take people's fingers and snap them off for fun. So that wasn't very effective. So now Biden said he is going to meet with Putin. And today Biden says, well, I have a plan to deter the Russians, and I'm going to put this on the table with Putin. I don't think anybody thinks that this is really going to be very effective. But the big question is is will Putin invade Ukraine. And you know, my argument is, no, that doesn't mean he won't. He could wake up tomorrow and decide he does. I mean, I don't speak for Putin, obviously. But the analogy I use is like you are playing poker with the worst poker player on the Planet Earth, right? Who's the bad poker player? Joe Biden. Right. And what do you do? I would just keep playing, right? You could do all Tony Soprano and rob the game, but why

Trevor Noah: Moderna Chief Not a Source You Should Trust

"Day. Trevor, Noah gets the dummy today. Now I've long said, you take Bill Mars earpiece off. You take Trevor Noah's earpiece off. John Stuart any of them. Gobert, you put them in a room with a smart man or woman who's well read, and you'll let him talk for two hours. There will be nothing left but ribbons of them. There will be cut to pieces. By anyone who knows their way around a set of facts and how to argue. They're not that bad. They're not smart. They're funny, and they have good timing, they're good comics. But Trevor Noah is a moron. Cut number 21. And while most of the world is willing to wait and see, at least one person feels comfortable about making predictions, the Moderna CEO told the Financial Times he expects the existing vaccines to be less effective against the new variant of COVID. I think it's going to be a material drop. This was on vaccine efficacy. I just don't know how much because we still need to wait for the data, but all the scientists I've spoken to are saying this is not going to be good. So on the one hand, almost all the only cron cases have been mild so far. But on the other hand, the guy who stands to gain millions of dollars from new vaccines says we need new vaccines. Huh. If we don't make a new vaccine, this disease could be with us Ferrari. I mean forever. Sorry, I was thinking of something else. Now, look, I'm not saying that the CEO of Moderna is lying. I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying, I don't think he's the most objective source on this topic, you know? I'll wait to hear what neutral experts say about a new vaccine. People like public health officials or the CEO of Johnson & Johnson. I mean, he's got nothing a game 'cause nobody's gonna buy his vaccines either way, so I trust him. And also, if we do need a new vaccine for this new variant, it's not a big deal. All right, people. I see people online being like, we're going to get a new shot every year. There's no way. Yeah, yeah, you know what? Maybe to not die, you might need to take 15 minutes out of your year.

Why Francis Foster and Konstantin Kisin Started Triggernometry

"This is the question I asked all of my guests because I invite people who stand up. I don't get any debates with people. I invite people who impress me and who are experts and who've actually shown themselves to have a spine. So tell our listeners, why you did what you did and why the cost of what you did was okay and why you can bear it and why you will not be intimidated and what your message is to those who are intimidated. It's only once you've lost everything that you're free to do anything, so that's it. It's as simple as that. You know, when we started trigonometry, I said to Francis on day one, people are going to call us names. People are going to attack us. People are going to misrepresent where we're coming from. And he didn't believe me, but it's all come true, right? And the reason I knew it is we live in a society where speaking the truth is a very bad short term strategy. But what we've also found through the work that we've done is it's a very good long-term strategy. If you do what is truly you, if you're authentic about what you believe, if you engage in good faith with people, you will be rewarded for it. And so all I say to those people is that what do you want your life to be about? Because life is a very short thing and eventually we're all going to die and all it's going to happen is you're going to go in the ground. They're going to throw some over you. And then go and eat some food, right? Now what do you want to that's it? So that could be straight out of dostoyevsky. Yeah, it could be, but it's true, right? Life is very short and what do you want it to be about? Do you want it to be about conformity? Do you want to be about taking the need to something you don't believe in? Do you want it to be about lying every day about your actual opinions? Do you want to feel like a college, you want to be, you know, trying to explain to your kids why you drink every night? Did you know what I mean? I couldn't live a life of an authenticity and that's

Wall Street Journal Editorial Board Explains Joe Biden's COVID Failures

"First, these statistical numbers, I mean, The Wall Street Journal editorial board writes President Biden may not recall what he said during a 2021 campaign debate last fall, but Americans should, anyone who's responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America. COVID deaths this year have now surpassed the toll in 2020. Wall Street Journal points out it would shame that mister Biden has done no better than Donald Trump in defeating COVID. Despite the benefit of vaccines better therapies and more clinical experience. The left politicized COVID by holding mister Trump responsible for a disease that was always going to be hard to defeat. Biden said, if the president had done his job, all the people would still be alive. The Wall Street Journal says that was his false as anything mister Trump has ever said. But most journalists and experts agreed with the basic premise, mister Trump had blood on his hands. The world's top medical journals called for mister Trump's defeat. The Wall Street Journal writes about Biden's COVID death milestone. Because of the Trump administration's preparation they say, the U.S. led most of the world in vaccinations. Yeah, mister Biden had no plan to deal with a large numbers of vaccine holdouts other than to deride them. He missed his goal of getting 70% of adults vaccinated by July 4th, but proclaimed victory nonetheless. Biden blamed Republican governors and unvaccinated conservatives. Yet blacks and young people have also shown resistance reluctance to get vaccinated. They don't tend to be Republican, see Nicki Minaj and Kyrie

Dr. Atlas on Why Fauci Never Focused on Public Health

"I'm just disappointed and confused, I guess that as wealthy and as powerful our nation is that the obvious was ignored by the people in charge of our public health. I would have thought that we were at a place post enlightenment that we could look at the data, look at it non dogmatically non politically and say, you know, the lockdowns are not helping the massive vaccine inoculation campaign might not be wiser prudent with certain populations. But doctor you touched on this profit and sign ups, you know, Fauci controlling the funding. But what we're really getting at though is that science as they always say it is not the primary motivation here. It isn't. There's other things at play. Am I reading that right? I think it's a fair statement to say that decisions were made that were not just counter to science and denying decades of scientific knowledge. We still see that today. But they were really against the public health interest of the country. They were counter to the public health interests. And they still are being made that are counter to the health interest that's right. Of the country. When you talk about what the public health leadership did, the task force people, the doctors, birx Fauci and others, their opinions on what to do, we're focused on one thing, stopping COVID-19 pieces at all costs. That's an inappropriate leadership of public health. My focus as a public health policy expert here was the appropriate focus, which is you have to consider all of health. You never do a public health policy without considering the impact of the policy itself on the public

They're telling us it's safe therefore it must not be safe. We'll get what that's just a stupid is saying this. Something is safe just because someone else said it was safe. There's no difference. You're just taking the opposite point of view saying oh well they said it was safe and therefore it must not be. That's to just. As deferring to experts all the time is a fallacy going against experts. All the time is a fallacy to just because they're an expert so you don't trust them. I mean who do you trust when she stop trusting the experts anyway. Do you just trust one. Because that's what i see from a lot of conspiracy. Theories is then they just don't trust people in general interest anybody and if you try to tell them anything they'll disagree with it because the country people they don't want To be advised in any way shape or form. so they're going to reject that advisement. And you see all kinds of stuff like this in internet chat rooms. Just scroll through comment sections you know. There'll be discussion. I don't know maybe an atheist talking then someone will pop up and they'll be having a pretty normal conversation you know like you talking about the likelihood of demons and said well. There's this instance. Well we have to look at this from a different perspective. Pretty normal conversation and then some random moron will jump in and be like amateur demon. Hala gist and i've been working with demons for thirty years now. And i know that they're in Dave's wonder bread or whatever you know what i mean and it's like you have no qualification. You don't have you just said you'd at hampshire if you're amateur amateur it means you know sit down and shut the fuck up and let the people who are experienced in the field and and what is what is an amateur radio brought it. What does that mean. what are you talking about. so so like let's say like you're hunting for noah's ark and an amateur are counter. I mean like what do you do do do you just like a fuck around all day and like reads online articles about how maybe they found. Noah's ark here. Maybe they found knows. Or maybe the species here. Is that what it mean. 'cause i oftentimes these people will refer to themselves as researchers and they'll act like that's like a profession is a well. I'm a. i'm skeptical person. "Part of the reason they separated by polar from yuna polar disorders which you know before nineteen eighty were merged together. Was that psychiatrists thought people with bipolar disorder did not respond well to putt a presence and did better on lithium whereas people with the unipol or disorders did better on antidepressants. Donald klein called this type of thinking. Pharmacologic dissection but from what we know that. Dissection was not entirely complete. Clearly we know some people with yuna polar disorder do respond to lithium and mixed in that group that's labeled are some that respond to antidepressants. It's a small number may be about ten percent of the bipolar patients. So probably too small to pick up in some of these controlled trials but it does show up in some meta analyses. Let's look at those. I counted four meta analyses of anti-depressants in bipolar disorder. Just in the last decade each of these looked at about six to seven trials in bipolar depression. One concluded that the anti-depressants did not work and the other three found some benefit. But in each case that benefit was so small that it probably wouldn't have passed the fda only about one in twelve patients responded to them but the studies that found this small benefit also found harm with antidepressants mania mixed states and rapid cycling and they concluded that the chance of causing harm was greater than the chance of doing good. Now that we've clarified the data. Let's look at what the experts do in practice. Gordon parker asked eighteen experts weather and how they used antidepressants in bipolar disorder. Keep in mind. This is just about by politics. Most experts recommend against antidepressants in bipolar. One the results were published in two thousand and nineteen textbook on bipolar to daughter and contributed to the textbook any analyze the responses. Here's what he found. The responses fell into four categories based on whether the expert viewed antidepressants is helpful. Harmful or some mixture of the two at the extreme ends were to experts who thought that antidepressants were mostly helpful or mostly harmful and bi polar to one felt that they helped by polar to and did not cause hypo mania that expert was jay amsterdam from the university of pennsylvania in the united states. He's the one who published many of the favourable trials of antidepressants in bipolar disorder. That we mentioned but not. All of dr amsterdam's work was so sunny recently. He published three uncontrolled. Trials suggesting that patients with bipolar disorder develop something like tolerance with antidepressants. The more they take them the more likely they are to stop the other more. Cautious extreme is tattoo food. Kato from the reich and brain science institute in japan he wrote quote. I do not use antidepressants for patients with bipolar. To as they can worsen the illness course by inducing mannix switches or rapid cycling but while dr kato avoids them for bipolar depression he did admit to using sri antidepressants to treat co morbid anxiety disorders. That occur in bi polar two in the middle were two broad types. There were experts who felt antidepressants are helpful in bipolar too. But should only be used with the mood stabiliser. Ten out of eighteen experts fit into this cautiously optimistic group who felt that antidepressants were generally good. As long as they're taken with the mood stabiliser but also in the middle group is more skeptical kind of psychiatrists. These doctors were willing to use antidepressants in bipolar too. But they were not so convinced of their safety and even of their efficacy and they would only use them as a last resort. These doctors cited the risk of rapid cycling and hypo mania on them. Six eighteen points fell into this cautiously.

"She started it with me. This podcast wasn't for me. She was working on a project. She needed to build an audience. I took it over. But her impact on this podcast remains definitely with this episode. Choosing in a mastermind group about that time with a guy named Nick per I'm not sure how she connected with him initially, but I'm him an event in Las. Vegas, so you'll be at these events especially in something like Las Vegas. There are a lot of flashy people in the world. Lot of businessmen, a lot of gamblers. A lot of people are full of themselves. They believe their own press project a lot of hype. That is not nick. lauper nick is a really solid down to Earth Guy. He's a great combination of grounded humble and successful. If you're not familiar with the work that he does, he has a podcast and also a site called side-hustle nation. And abroad them on here for a couple of reasons one because it's a great behind the scenes, look at an expert business. We talk about how he got started. Like a lot of people kind of just fell into it, but when he saw the opportunity, he ran with it. As we talk about his business. There's some other stories sprinkled in. I think you'll also find those inspiring. Some of those people are making money with their expert knowledge some of them. Good old fashioned hard work about love this kind of stuff. Let me give you another story about my wife. Few days ago and I'm not sure why. We pulled it up, but there's a website. It's called Flip F. l. i. p. p. a. like the Dolphin. You might remember that TV show. FLIP DOT COM. Neither one of us was looking for anything in particular, but there's something about getting on a site like that when you see how other people are doing things with his graphic designer web, hosting ECOMMERCE, certain aspect of their businesses, or maybe you see a business that you didn't know existed. There's something about that. That's really inspiring if you're able to translate that. To Your Business..
