A new study is out that shows the safest towns in North Texas really show the safest cities in all of Texas. Okay, um, and it separated the 655 Texas cities in the three lists. Based on population size. Okay, so they kind of give you kind of a meaningful comparison on crime rates. All right, all right. Among the 10 top. Safest small cities as 10,000 residents or fewer. Wish our main Suki was here. Number one on the list is double oak. Is that right? Does he live in double oak? Won't you've worked with him for 30 years knows lives in Double. Okay, everybody knows where you live. Yeah, I would have. I didn't know, stupid lived in double color yet probably lived in triple lives a double. Okay, that is number one on the list. I had a temper was either my way or the highway. I'd lose my cool I'd feel awful. I'm human. I'd apologize, but I knew I lost. I don't get my way. Yeah, I had to walk the highway. But I learned and I learned the hard way. Learning how to be the mature one. Recognizing howto contain my first instinct, which always was the wrong instinct. I had to manage my personality. I'm listening and reasoning to understand the objective case. Stay calm. Stay in control. That's the path to winning. As a thorn Is an added benefit while others are angry and you remain come. You contrived them crazy. I love cool torture. I love that. How did I get to be the mature one? Let's assume that I am First of all I recognized I needed to be smarter. That goes without saying I began with the end in mind What I really wanted accomplish in the end and to get there. How should I behave? When it came to arguments, I realized that the only argument I ever would be in is when the other guy was in an indefensible position because they can't win. You got them dead to rights. But how do you disarm your opponent? How do you be smart and bring the conversation to the point. We will never all agree on all the things that have different points of view. All business decisions yet still need to be made. Their choice is the right choice is often not clear. If I had people that agreed with me with everything I said, Why would I need them? Honest discourse should be encouraged. It's okay to disagree. He's a dialogue is healthy. Even it illustrates the people care that people are passionate. My first lesson in business mind control the first time the light went off in my head to get it. Is because the president of my company He was chairing a meeting. He had this point of view. He had an idea a course of action. He wanted us to follow. Yet we weren't And the more we gave them trouble. He was more determined what direction the company was going to pursue. So many people in the room different opinions. Too Many people disagree. They had legitimate concerns. He was having none of it. He finally had enough. And he said, Night quote. Well, I'll get my wife she always says, Don't be logical when I'm being emotional. That nicely. And cleverly ended the debate. Thanks for your opinion. This is what I'm going to do. I love that line and that happened to start me on my way of maturity. Tonight show my road to mature was paid by the simple declaration. Don't be logical when I'm being emotional, No more fight, and that's how I got to where I am today. Now walking with me on this road, too, intellectual maturity, my son, my lawyer, Michael, who's dressy Webber, You're a piece of work. You are a piece of work. I can't believe that you're taking the high ground on arguing you actually think that you're mature. What does that mean? This is a joke. This is this has to be a joke with your record every day every day. What do we hear? You don't like humans that that doesn't make you ready to compromise? And frankly, when I think about it, I have to think you must be kidding. Because do you have any idea what it's like to disagree with you? Yeah, I'm calm. I'm reasonable. I'm always right. OK? Yeah, sure, sure. In your world in Weber's world But we live in the real world in the real world. It is impossible to talk with you. Impossible. Do you want to discuss your behavior? Not really. Well, okay, we're going to you got me into this now. I can't believe what I just heard. Here's what you do. Okay, Here's your routines first. It's the tune off the ignore When anybody says anything you don't want to hear you Just turn it off. You walk out you go. I'm not listening. I'm not listening. You know how frustrating that is. Would you say Yeah. Okay, right. See? Then this is my favorite. There's one of my favorites. You know, Jesse, or whoever you're speaking to. I may not always be right. But I'm never wrong. How can anyone deal with that? Well, it's not. I'm right. Discussions over. Let's move on while also bothers me is when you use the word psychobabble. Member psychobabble on somebody's telling you something. You don't like you that psycho battle kind of sounds like you are right now. Cycle babbling. Okay, you're talking about May because one of the things that I can't stand that I hate when you do. Is when you call me forests comparing me to forest Gump like I'm stupid, you know, And there's so many times that I'm trying to explain something to you. You let me one word you go. No, not not not not not not not not not not not not. No, no. No, you don't even like you're an idiot. Like you don't know what you're talking about. You've never made a sentence before. Jessie. You don't know what you're doing, You know, and you're telling me that you're the mature one. I'm sorry. What are you talking about? You're talking to me. I rest my case with you. Don't you can rest all you want. Did I lose my cool, dry off a strong advice and a reason for my position. They always make it clear. This is tough love from me. So you're not surprised. And though I always have your best interests at heart that's not what I'm talking about The best interests. Of course you But do you understand how frustrating you are to deal with how you're impossible to reason with her? You don't listen. Suck it up. Okay, Alright. I rest my case. Why are we talking about this where you're going with us? Thank you. Thank you. Finally, Tonight's conversation on what I want to talk about his people Management self management a few stories along the way that people might learn from Jesse, You're right. But you're wrong. I might not always be right. But I'm never wrong. Where's Jesse? You know the audience out. Remember when Jesse was my co host? Oh, so you can give out criticism You could give out advice which you can take it. Listen, Let me get this out of the way Your host here. Mark Webber wasn't always this bastion of good sense. I wasn't always the mature one in the room. I can't talk about mistakes or getting it together without telling this story again quickly. You've been a lizard in of the show for a while. You know the story. I happen to be traveling in Europe. I get a email. That's this. Please call home at eight o'clock. We have some exciting news to talk to you about. I was thrilled. I've been doing great. I hadn't been made a vice president yet. I knew it was coming. And now here I am away from home. Traveling on business trip. They asked me to call from home. I can't wait to make the phone call. I remember running back to my room. To make the call eight o'clock and call the president's office. The number they gave me. I said, Hey, it's Mark. How's everybody on this? The president the company, the new executive VP of the company, and a couple of people that I worked with, as I guess you could say my cohorts equal positions.

"For an IBM Software Company and Consulting Business Welcome Jeremy Thank you. Thank you. Enter could sold here. Now. We have a lot in common. We've both got a career in Tokyo and we've both would with IBM. So what's been your journey to while you K-? Well as you as you mentioned I did in the only part of my career work in professional services with IBM in the US. And then in the mid nineteen ninety S I came back to the UK and I joined the British. Telecom, bt and what the twentieth bt. So I've been really in the telecom space now for or three decades and seeing the development from. abloh through first generation. Now into a fifth generation and my background is in product and product management and joint benches, it had a number of course Europe. We have very similar correct trajectories. We'll explore that in a minute, but it's great to talk to another Tokai friendly person. So back on season two, episode four, we spoke with your colleague Paul. Scanlon about the future of five. G.. And we had a really interesting discussion about why's approach to five G. From Technology Point? Is You know I? Ask you a bunch of technology questions today. But what is five gene to you? Five G. as it implies is the next generation and every generation of brings new opportunities with the Wallet Space. But potentially, I. Think. The second generation was significant. The full generation was significant and the fifth generation is probably very significant with an industry can be criticized a little bit of over promising to quote Bill Gates's overestimate the short term and underestimate the long term and five G. is going to deliver on a number of promises that perhaps it'd be made over the last few years. But it four G. was about APPS and consumers and smartphones five. is about connected devices and B. to be health and agriculture and verticals. So we think we're on the cusp of. A major change in the telecommunications industry and ecosystem around it. I'm sure we're going to talk about that, but it may take another two or three years before the networks rolled out and the applications developed and someone has the aw iphone moments in five G.. What's funny? You Miss Three G is that inflection point? I? Remember when three g came out and I went nine, the carrier, but everyone was promising video calling. I think my too cozy mind tie life. It was really about foster incident although when my guys back to three G or Heaven Forbid Eighth? Edge? I just have to create jogging and should be illegal in any country. There's enough legislation being talked about in our industry right now, I would suggest that the superior technology of four G is going to replace creepy and you're gonNA. See Three G retired property before g that there are some applications onto g which swell three G that spectrum probably will be reformed and used in five G.. Leave. My old employer, Telstra, I think is turned off their entire to work in the spectrum they read farm. So there's some countries where it Econet, she get A to Z signal. You've been away for years to about your heritage research and Innovation UK. While is one of the top investors in our indeed in any industry. I, think we're in the top five or six in the Telco sector where we're number one, a number one by away this year, we're going to invest twenty billion globally in our D.. And that's delivered considerable competitive advantage and give us a jump on the five G. space. Here. In the UK, we have a number of centers of excellence for Recession Development, not least of which is the optical research development and chip design that we recently announced a billion pound investment in developing that further and a fabrication unit is well, our deed is a team sport, and in order for us to really maximize the benefits, you've gotta have an ecosystem around, and so we chose Cambridge to make that major investment whether it is already quite a good develop ecosystem and chip is on chip. Development. Now, let's address the elephant in the room. Recently, the UK government ruled that you'll find G. keep must be removed from UK Upright Eight wakes by twenty twenty seven. That's a pretty big deal. So if you must be removed, what does that entail what might cost operators and why will it take? So long to complete I, what we're very disappointed of that decision reverses the decision made in generating this year. And it. It's essentially takes time because if you imagine the infrastructure that is necessary to create a wireless network, it's physical. Antenna which often sit on top of buildings and getting access to those buildings. Getting cranes, moving that equipment is not a trivial task, because many of them are in city centres and even got access to the building, you need to get permission to local authorities, plus there is a very key economic reason why I it can't happen immediately, and that is huge investment has got into implementing forty five G. Networks, and there has to be return on investment, the carriers bt of Vodafone to being very clear to the UK. UK Government. If they seek to accelerate to any fossil trench, twenty seven, the cost will go into the billions and to them. There'll be blackouts because the very nature of Wallace designers. You cannot just take down no one cell and expect the sales to compensate. If you're doing a swap, you need to planet needs to get the permissions you need to get the cranes do physicals. It's quite a protracted exercise, and then if you have to do it in a hurry is very expensive and risks, blackouts, anyone says. From technologist view, this is unheard off that the government mandates to remove equipment that's been bought and paid for stolen. As you say, it's not trivial to take antennas off ruse. Is this the first time? This has happened? Yes I think it is the first. I can't think of another example, and that's probably why they've chosen the date for twenty, twenty, seven because. We're talking about five G. Today. Sixty Is the end of this decade. There is a natural churn that if you build it within the natural churn and plans within the natural judd, the costs can be managed and. The engineering funches can be organized, but actually the true cost to this decision. Is the real significant cost is actually to the UK consumers because whilst bt of Said is GONNA cost them half a billion in direct costs, the the UK was the second country in Europe to five G.. And was will placed with a number of government initiatives to experiment early on with five G. With the these. Tests. So government-sponsored testbeds in manufacturing which Roy.

What Leads People To Fail As Leaders?
"When it comes to studying leadership. The natural tendency is to focus on those leaders who successes and achievements continue to serve as inspiration as well as Dr so many of us to emulate them in the hopes that we might achieve a similar level of accomplishment. Of course as much as it's important for us to see what we can learn from those who understand what it takes to succeed at leadership. It's also valuable for us to continue to examine and consider what causes others to fail in the role of leading people towards a common goal or shared purpose to that end as I mentioned in the opening of this episode. I'd like to share the story of one leader whose example I hope will help you appreciate one of the key. Challenges leaders need to address if they are to succeed in today's fast-changing globally interconnected environment when Albert was promoted to head the division. He spent the past few years working for he naturally jumped into the opportunity with a lot of enthusiasm and ideas of how he'd liked department to operate under his leadership. Now Albert was very much what you'd call a career driven all in kind of guy and he had his eyes on playing a bigger role in the organization in fact when Albert got the promotion. He told a few of us how he was not only going to prove his ability to lead this department but he planned on using this opportunity to get his former colleagues who were now his direct reports to view them as executive material in the hopes that this would then encourage them to advocate on his behalf for seat at the more senior table to that end. Albert began setting out memos detailing new approaches. He wanted his direct reports to employ under each of these new measures. Alpert made sure to point out how these changes with either improve efficiency or bring. Their departments efforts integrator alignment with the company's directives. In order to remind everyone of his technical know-how Albert also use team meetings to inform his direct reports of his interactions with various groups of executives. Vp's to highlight his growing familiarity with those at the executive level in order to prove his comfort level with playing in the big leagues of course zeal to prove his ability to lead and step up into the executive circle. Albert ended up making a number of misteps which though seemingly minor spoke more about the nature of his than those actions he often tried to put in the limelight. For example Albert became so focused on building his rising star status that when one of his team members expressed concern about the growing number of delays and getting vital data from him to complete their work. Alpert dismissed their concerns because it wasn't a high visibility issue at those and senior management would care about now also challenged the data findings. His team members presented at department meetings results the senior. Vp's had already signed off on as a way to publicly demonstrate that he wasn't letting anything get overlooked on his watch unfortunately for Albert. What he didn't understand was that in his quest to demonstrate his authority and leading this department he was also showing his team how little he trusted their ability to understand what matters not to mention their ability to do things right. We're still Albert was showing his former colleagues that he cared little about their professional development and growth and instead wanted his department to focus on measures that serve to grow his career even at times at the department's productivity in light of these and several other. Misteps it's not surprising that Albert lasted a little over a year in this leadership role leaving behind a team that was now suffering from decreased productivity levels a recent history of miss deadlines and mistakes and crumbling lines of communication between the various team members when these moments of leadership failure happen. It's natural for us to look for some lightning rod moment. Some specific event that clearly marks that critical moment in time when things began to fall apart just as with those succeeded leadership when people in leadership roles fail. We want unravel the specific steps. They took to let us know what we need to avoid to prevent a similar fate. Unfortunately the reality is that leadership failures are rarely defined by a singular event like that infamous moment when former MVP CEO Tony Hayward expressed his frustration over the deepwater horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by blurting out. How all he wanted at that moment was to get his life back while these two leaders may differ in having that sense of clarity for when their ability to lead fell apart hayward's words and Albert's do share something in common. In both cases. They demonstrated what really mattered the most to them in terms of how they approach their responsibilities and obligations to those under their care and Albert's case he was so focused on proving how valuable his leadership could be to the organization that he failed to show his team the value. He was helping them to achieve as their leader. It became very clear to everyone. And Albert's department that he viewed leadership as something want achieves because of your title or position that he expected people to throw their full support behind him simply because of the sign that adorned his office door when he failed to understand. Though is that leadership is not dependent on your title but on your ability to inspire people to follow you that people believe in your ability to chart a course and guide them to create something of value. Something matters not just to those in charge but to all involved. It's important to note too. That Albert's time in this leadership role was short-lived not because he made the kind of drastic mistakes. We often see being reported in news outlets and shared across social media rather it was because his actions and behaviors had revealed that his focus was not on how he could bring out the best and those under his care but on how he can make his own starshine brighter within the organization. Albert story is an important reminder for all of us that if we allow ourselves to get caught up in the business of today's noisy world or like an Albert's case to focus mostly on ourselves and what we personally want to achieve. We can very quickly find ourselves losing touch with how to engage and empower those. We've accepted the responsibility to God. And to help to succeed in their collective efforts as much as we might like to assume that there is an event that we can point to and say that's when things flew off the rails more often than not people fail at leadership in those small everyday moments in those moments where they failed to demonstrate to those they lead that they matter that their contributions and efforts are valuable and important and that we care about their successes as much as we care about our own to put it simply leadership is not found in grand gestures but in those moments where we reveal what we care about. And that's why I wanted to share Albert story because leadership is about those little moments those conversations where we have the opportunity to build relationships with those under our care to learn and better understand what matters to them what excites them and makes them feel like. They're making a difference and then connecting that to the shared purpose that defines our organization. We need to approach leadership as an opportunity to not simply better ourselves but to help those we lead become better as well sure. There are many examples of leaders who fall under the weight of their own hubris caught up in the narrative of their own leadership that they soon forget there on that the reason why people rally behind them and willingly follow their lead going forward but as with those leadership luminaries we look up to these fallen from grace leaders also have lessons to teach us about what causes people to fail and end up on the other side of that leadership spectrum perhaps the biggest lesson they can teach us all his why we need to be mindful for how we show up in our role as a leader that we never forget that leadership is not about you. It's about those who stepped forward to follow your lead

Maybe it was him so we're going to start using retry. The buildings was to them a is going to come out. I think that a VR and a are are going to be big coming up. I think that those are trends that I'm really looking at. I think that when you look at where you WANNA call virtual or augmented reality when you can you see something. That's not there like it's there. Yep Re special in peace space. I think that it all that's GONNA really I ain't gonNA kick into gear soon. I think it'll kick into gear in the construction industry. I mean think about it this way like if you can do you can spend. I'm making up. A number oddest amount of number a modest amount of money. And you can have an augmented reality in a building that you're building right the you we know exactly where every outlet is supposed to go sure you know where every where every everything is supposed to go and you can eliminate eliminate all mistakes in the field like when you do that to me. It sounds construction but it sounds like it's logical Michael Right so they were going to see more and more of those tools I think from releasing perspective. CBRE HAS GR-. I mean unbelievable internal tools that we use Between floor and SPACER and geofencing dancing. I mean there's all sorts of things that we have this year that we didn't have last. Right right maybe it's eighteen major saves you ten percent maybe twenty two and we would waste time looking at twenty thousand thousand square feet and then laying out our floor tool we in Adelaide out for you in minutes and you you can see redid. Yeah no wait I can use my finger off. Should be there. Let me move that office somewhere over. Here I think that there's a plot attack on the occupy shovel here. Here's tell you though because people as his all time. When do you think we're going to have full adoption of technology in real estate Tell you the minute that will happen. Is the minute that all of the users the occupiers of space when the occupiers space I demand it. We'll have full adoption. Because the landlords are some landlords are still playing the game like it's nineteen eighty five short and summer. We're playing a game like it's two thousand and twenty ready and once the tange all say you know what I want to be in that building because I can run my business business from a technology perspective more efficiently. 'cause that guy gets it. Yeah or because that guy has an amenity stack. That guy just doesn't there's an have. We're GONNA see a major shift. We're starting to see we worked disrupted the whole industry. They're better being landlord than anybody else. Right it's all about. The culture wasn't about the fact they had beers about the fact that everybody wanted to be there so at the end of the day. I think we'll see some things that are tech driven. It's more prevalent and it looks different because I ran. Who had five thousand square feet in? We work and he decided we needed a big boy's face. His words not mine. Ten thousand feet. I'M GONNA go sign a release Levy real company in went to all these landlords sweet relationships with and they all said the same thing. Ten thousand feet. No problem tenured eal seven year deal twelve year deal no prob back to we. Were it said ten thousand feet. What can you give me your so you want no problem? You have to commit. long-term was long-term eleven months. uh-huh oh really went move in. I don't know Monday. You've got ten thousand square feet two blocks from where you are right now. Just pick up a move going on Monday. It'd be fine. Yeah that's a different. That's a game changer. Right so that there is a space for that here because somebody nobody else manages that ten thousand built. Somebody's managing that process. That takes away the pain from a tenant of signing a lease when they don't know what their long term prognosis hostesses for space. The punchline is ten months into his eleven month lease he needed fifteen thousand square feet so he'd signed a ten year deal he would have been subleasing that space the landlord. Because you're boxed in at that point so he knew he was smart if the state and by the way costs more per month. Not GonNa say that doesn't right but it was better for his business. So Co working to stay I I love it well. Jeremy we've had a great conversation really appreciate your time today. One thing go ahead one thing. Jalen Ramsey's troubled Jaguars tenure ends with blockbuster trade to Rams
"Terms of Jalen Ramsey will talk about this he finally got what he wanted the end result the disgruntled corner headed to the Los Angeles Rams the Jaguars finally relented and Ramsey to the west coast for first round draft picks two of the one in twenty twenty one in two thousand twenty one also a fourth rounder in the two thousand twenty one draft here's a statement for Jaguars executive VP. Tom Coughlin given the situation with Jalen we made this decision based on what we thought is in the best interest of the Jacksonville Jaguars for this season and well into the future we feel the trade that we struck with the rams gives us great value for the next two drafts and remain confident that our team today will compete this season for a division title Jalen Wasser Productive Flair but the time came to move on and we wish him and his family the best in Los A- Angela here's head coach Doug marrone obviously I had a good relationship with him and we were working together to get them healthy on the field and that that's what my focus was so he can get on the field and help us you know win football games and now you know how concentrating on on the players gotta here and and getting our guys focused on on on Cincinnati I think in his league nothing ever really surprises me anymore you know especially from the business side of things I found out like everybody else did last night you know lately point Dave came in and told me Rams reporter Lindsey theory joins us from L. A. and Lindsey listen there's been a lot of coming and going and all Ryder roster changes what's the general reaction to all of the news from the rams this week Wendy for a team that's three and three and in the mid of a three game losing streak certainly renewed buzz and energy at the team facility this morning now I am told the Jalen Ramsey is in route to Los Angeles and he's expected here later this afternoon or the rams do expect that he will pass his physical and I am told that he could be on the field for them as soon as Sunday against the Falcons now this would be viewed as a move where the rams are going all in once again to try to make a repeat super bowl run but I am told the Rams really believe that this is a move for their long-term future keep to leave and Marcus Peters or playing the season on expiring contracts Ramsey has another season left and the rams do intend to sign him to a long term engine now as you mentioned he's not the only new face here at the facility today Kenny Young Austin Corbett also were here they have passed their physicals though remains to be seen if they will be at practice later this afternoon and one more note Wendy Safety John Johnson is headed to injured reserve because of shoulder injury. Lindsey thank you it was a rare blockbuster trade a few weeks now before the trading deadline Ramsey joined a small handful of veteran players traded for multiple first round picks in the last third two years or so Khalil Mack and Jay Cutler garnered big offers from the bears the dolphins move two first rounders for Ricky Williams and it too big halls to get Herschel Walker an Eric Dickerson listen we can go back to the jags but since June Ramsey is moving onto the rams let's start with what he means for the La Rams Right now we'll Wade Phillips now gets a play defense the way he wants to Wakefield's really wants to play in your face on the line of scrimmage with the defensive line pressure and then in your face on the live with men cover corners. He hasn't been able to do that to be honest with you with Marcus Peters Marcus Peters is not not played good man to man coverage needs a better zone corner so now wade having Jalen gets the opportunity to get back to Colin defense the way he wants to do it I'll be really interested to see if they use Jalen the way we want I bill belichick thrill reverse where you put him on the team's best number two receiver and then everybody else gets to get double teams opposing for the opposing offense but it makes their defense significantly best Champ Bailey the dion sanders I mean the great quarters you can do that lock him up and then roll the other side I think you'll see that the other thing that was curious for me was that Tom Coughlin mentioned that Jaguars were better this year and going forward I think maybe either that was miss written or because they're not speak they're not better by getting a great player out of there so I miss quotes tim so expe- Joe Joe Listen you were you were spot on Jalen Ramsey never changed his stance which is what you asserted from the get-go and I would assume just finally came to a point where it just made no sense to have him on a roster when he wasn't going to win this transaction happened yesterday the first thing came to my mind is how often the people I was always talking to that this was going to work out for Jalen Ramsey like there was no fretting I didn't hear any fear and now that this is resolved itself in the way that it has it kind of plays into the tone that I've been hearing all along now I was talking to a source obviously familiar with Jalen Ramsey. They said that he's excited considering this a fresh start to be with the rams I think one of the questions that I had in talking to ram source last night was why not hold onto Marcus Peters to have opposite Jalen Ramsey in terms of making this movie now one thing that the ram source said to me is that it looked like it was clear that less need did not want to pay marcus. Peters beyond this year he's eligible unrestrained the free agency next year and it was better just to rip off quote unquote the band-aid now so then it becomes well who is opposite Jalen Ramsey for this game against the Atlanta Falcons they mentioned that two thousand seventeen when cal Roby Coleman I came to the teen that he did fill in for a keep to Leon outside first and second down and then on Nichols would have him excuse me on third down having a nickel or sometimes have troy hill on the outside and then have an RC in the middle so expect something like that or combination of that against the Falcons either way Julio Jones saw the rams problems in the short turn no because the opposite of the ball is atrocious right now and that's been there issue as far as being a front now what I will say is it does play into them getting better though like we can focus on golfing what this offense has been doing but with the guy like Jalen Ramsey not only does he hell Aaron Donald give him a maybe a half a second more to get to the quarterback he also may be able to steal a possession to for you and this ninety four was out there so air down gets another piece on the back end that can help him hold off quarterbacks for a second for him to get there and that's that's really all I can think about so maybe you

"So how how far in advance does someone in your position plan for that? When for instance, the cardinals just drafted Kyla Mary first overall, do they sit down right now and say three or four years from now? It all works out. We got to have this much money available. I mean how does it work in terms of planning purposes with the sustain and the moment for a little bit? Don't you read what? Maybe here too, before you can do sign anyone till after they played three years on their rookie deal. So I like to think looking back at it now from our perspective that maybe we end enjoyed the moment of building around it and giving him an opportunity to develop into the player he was, you know, he took a huge jump. He had a really good rookie year, but took a huge jump from year one to year to, and then you get into a position where you see him have some adversity and how he overcomes adversity and his work ethic. And again, it's just the more, you know, about someone the more experiences you have with someone the more confident you are in, in committing to them. And so I, I think for us that that's how it went. And when you have a guy who's got all these traits and you see how hard is defined that guy. And when you find that guy gives you chance to compete every year. You don't want to lose that, so you're telling me to live in the moment. How is your way of telling me to live in the moment right now? I like the moment. Rich, I do you know. I like the moment and there, there could be part of you, though. That's still got to think about the future. Right. But at the same time here, you gotta enjoy you got to enjoy the Ron a little bit. I know unfortunately, some teams don't let you do that. And I guess in the last couple minutes half with you here. What are your thoughts on a couple of your colleagues, losing their gigs in between the draft? And, and the beginning of the, the summer how in one of them in New York lead to you losing. Joe Douglas in your front office. What is happening in our business right now? Thank the godfather movies. This is life. We've chosen. You go and Hyman Roth on me. My head. That's where my head is the business. We've chosen in. Yeah. It's, it's a tough business. It it's a very bottom on business and sometimes even the bottom line doesn't always work out, and he hate to see good people. You know, be out of a job, and it's just ban. You know it just it you understand when you get into this, that you gotta win. And you gotta surround yourself with, with good people on and off the field. And all of us are just a product of the people that are we have around us. And, you know, you talk about Joe and what great guy he he's been for all of us and my great opportunity. He has a New York, but we'll miss him and it stinks it's thanks to lose good people thinks it was good players, and I guess that's the price of having some success. So I'm hoping that maybe we continue to lose good people and good players. Because now probably mean we're still doing well, thanks for the call a joy or whatever downtime is. Coming your way, and we'll, we'll chat down the line training, camp and beyond. I really appreciate it. Thanks for hanging out of that's how he rose. Many eagles executive VP here on the rich Eisen show, and I guess the other thing he has in common with the Hyman, Roth as he watches USC, Notre Dame and turns to television volume all the way up to mask the deals that he's making. Thank you. Can I can't have anymore? God for I can't have enough gone from other references. So I honestly thought let's extrapolate this out how far in advance you have to plan. Yeah. To resign your guy because this is a serious chunk of change right here big time. And how about him basically saying draft him get him up to speed den around year. Three can't sign up before you three that's when you start thinking about that stuff..

The board has asked the giants executive team to manage the day to day operations of the club during the period reporting directly to the board. I assume and I'm trying to be responsible here. But I'm assuming it's Stacey slaughter executive VP. Mario Allio executive VP Jack bear legal counsel and Alphonso Felder another executive VP, those ought to be I would guess would be the executive team that's going forward. Here's the other thing is the final paragraph of the statement of James said as leaders in the community, we at the giants hold ourselves to the highest standards, and those standards will guide how we consider this matter moving forward. Meaning it ain't no. So we all talked in the six or the seven AM our now the hour about how in this day and age whether or not you thought it was domestic violence, or whether you thought it was overblown, or whether you thought the scream made it worse than it was or whether you thought the screen told you that it. It was violence. Everybody saw it differently. It's an eyewitness wash rohrschack test. But the point being is that in this day and age. Yeah. Acts of aggression have been highlighted and society is working to move in the other direction. There has to be a consequence for Larry. This is the consequence that is needed that he needs to step away for some time. I'm not saying he has to sell the team or step away forever. But I am saying there needs to be a definite cooling out period where people talk dialogue, and if it helps one person. That's all yes, reassess how they treat their spouse or their domestic partner on either soft yet woman, man and woman, you know, you just said Murph there will be in. There has to be a consequence or consequences. Really? We went over this earlier when Copeland read the list of the players that high profile dudes that have been involved in domestic violence situations. There are pretty severe consequences for the players. So you have to wonder an executive a president and CEO. I mean, he's gotta be able to face those same conic consequences or maybe worse. I'm not sure. So here's the deal. That's the end of the bum babies because we got more breaking news. Next on the other side. Stay tuned. Breaking warriors news on these sports later after traffic. "It's cold outside. You have a winter jacket somewhere upstairs. Okay. I'm just a warm up. I can't even r you full-scale warm warm of you gotta deed is head to toe. No Lululemon pants on. There you go. Eighteen. From the full, you know, coach gear. Yeah. We used to go to the final four everyone's got top and bottom sweatsuit right match. You don't do that anymore? Good for you. I don't even own one. Yeah. That is fantastic. Boy that was it. That was probably a two trip hall to your your local clothing. Yeah. You probably had to closets filled with tracksuit every color every style every make every model that was the day. Those are the day. So we all had some of them. But you had you had quite a few combos. All. Yeah. That's great. So anyway. So I laid out my plan for rebuilding the bulls. I think I heard some of it. I heard a dollar screaming at you. Because he doesn't want Paxton even in the zip code. I don't get that. Like, I mean, I don't that doesn't as long as, you know, listen as long as you're gonna tell me that there is significant change, and there's a new voice leading the charge and making the decisions. I heard a guy who need a car to south sounds like an I know Adam and I love Adam. Actually offered the opportunity for him to stay at my house for the next few days if he wants him and his and his lovely wife. Very nice. And but with that said, I think it sounded like he wanted a pound of flesh to go along with the correct? That's not I'm not a pound of flesh there for a couple of years, and none of these mistakes run him, dude. His been here for the I'm not arguing decade all falls at the base of his door. He I don't care if he was making all the decisions or wasn't making all the decisions if he's in charge you at the top of the food chain in your last name isn't Ryan store. So you're the top of the food chain that doesn't include Reinsdorf. Yes. Ultimately, his position you are responsible. I guess. That's I love that guy. Okay. But as cap said what you're doing is you keep if Jerry Reinsdorf wants to pay patch twenty million dollars a year to be part of the bulls organization in some fashion that doesn't have anything to do with decision making. That's his I guess, so why do you want a difference between ambassador and consultant? Okay. So we're arguing over a title. No. There is a huge one guy shows up in sits on the sideline of bulls games and shake hands inside talking. He doesn't need to pass has the ear of of Jerry, Michael. I again, I can't I can't guarantee you anything because I don't know. But if there was a very strong implication here that you had somebody else making all the decisions impacts was in a building. Because that's how Jerry likes to do his business whether alternately it's Kenny Williams, whoever it is if he wants to if he has an appreciation for somebody that has played a vital role in his organisation over the course of years, right? And he wants to pay him to be around. That is his prerogative. I'm just suggest. I said to him. I said that I would keep him as a he's the executive VP consultant. But I brought a new GM in from the Boston Celtics, and he has full control. He's the guy then I can't argue with that. I know what it does is it immediately makes you put your hand. Ends up in guard yourself because you've been burned before I get that. I get it. It just sounded a little pound the fleshy. But I get that. I can't it if we can convince you that if the girlfriends cheated on me once I'm not going to circle back again. Look. He's burned me. She's but she's living in a different doesn't mean. I'm gonna call her at ten o'clock at night taller. But if you see right there, I might be tempted. Maybe you take your phone away from her. She doesn't have a phone. You can't call it. Yeah. I think I think of dollars trying to tell you guys take the number out of the phone or block. Then you don't send the u up. There you go. They wanted their pound of flesh. And that's fine. And I can understand. I I understand that. But listen, if we're talking common sense, and what you described to me you can guarantee I got no problem with it. I'm not gonna tell somebody how to spend their money on someone as long as as you described it. There's a new set of is a new voice that's making the basketball decisions. How can I are you with that? So I said to black because someone I have great respect for once taught me this. It's called presentation. And I said to Harry, sharp guy told you about that long. Right. And he was he and he was mature beyond his years when he recognized that presentation has a lot to do with the argument, and I said to black. It would be like because his presentation about packs Mitchell Trubisky, there's this. Well, let's not fight them in there. And I said it would be like his lovely wife autumn coming home and gone pick up your damn socks and now you're going. Yeah. Now rising I giving you credit. I didn't actually reference me half hour ago idea as the great Tom Waddell, set better. I learned it from him. Pick up your socks or go. Hey, Honey, I'm exhausted. I worked hard to could you do me a favor and throw your socks in the hamper. It doesn't even have to be that. How about you know, what you know, where the hamper is come on come on come on. Gimme some help with this. You know, right. Right. So that was my thoughts on the Chicago Bulls. Here's my next question for you. I'm not so sure I bring back a bunch of older guys, though, I love Taj as much as anybody. But why am I going to appropriate a certain amount of cap space to his contract? He's not gonna be around you. Ultimately, I spoke to three exects. Yes. Okay. They said you have to fix the support in that room. They gotta get some veteran guys in there that play that can help teach Lowery, Mark. How much is how much is that worth? I'm giving him twenty six now come on. You can't be then have a coach have a coach that can do this for these can't do it. All three said, you gotta have players. You got to have those guys. And when I threw a tie. I can't you find somebody that can do that at a lower cost. These are the guys love Taj is a guy guys fantastic. We'll get into more of this. And the NFL has a new potential rule. I want your take on it quick time out. He's Tom model. I'm caps ESPN..

Hours, Amazon the headline. Numbers second quarter net sales, fifty two, point nine. Billion it's a little bit. Light the estimate was four fifty three, point four, billion and the third quarter. Outlook the company saying third quarter net, sales Jason, fifty four to. Fifty seven point five billion that too is. Light the Wall Street estimate is. Fifty eight point zero three and the PS. Number you heard Charlie do it like to see some clarification if this is indeed the number because it's so it's a big, beat five, dollars seven. Cents the estimate that we've got currently on the Bloomberg terminal to forty. Nine so that would be certainly a, big But everybody's also looking at, the of the stock was down a little bit too down, about three. Or four. Percent now it's up almost three point four percent this feels like why those, reports Carol where people are trying to figure it out waiting to get a little bit more. Explanation you get that sound you hear a sell side analysts up and down Wall, Street scribbling in typing using spreadsheets to try and figure out what this, all means I wanna move over to. Intel, briefly a second. Quarter revenues coming in at, seventeen billion, at beating. The estimate of sixteen point. Seven nine billion they are boosting their, view for, the year a second quarter. Adjusted EPS coming in at a dollar, for the, estimate there was. For ninety six cents so that feels like. A pretty clean beat for the. World's largest semiconductor may tell down three point. Two percent here in the after hours so we're gonna need to see but you know what's interesting is Amazon sold off initially, think down, almost five. Percent right after three adults and then it's bounced back and now it's. Up four point four percent let's see There's some follow through when it comes to Intel. Other year revenue they're looking for, sixty nine. Point five billion plus or minus, billion, that's one thing that that that may be, catching people a little bit by surprise especially. Given what they are. Saying for this quarter you know trying to come up with, some consistency about the rest of the year let me mention Amgen second quarter. Just at PS three eighty three that, is better than the forecast of three fifty six or path a sales up seventy eight percent, so this. Is one of the key metrics when we're. Looking at Amgen and also saying a succession planning for two executive officers so it sounds like the replacing. To top executives said looking at kind of the c. suite working around with that let me just, take a look at Amgen here in. The after hours it's up about. One percent here, feeling like a lot of executive turnover being asked his quarter just as we did it, we saw it with Gilead. Yesterday surprising the street a bit, with their. CEO CEO Changeover and obviously some. Other moves less expected coming out over the past few weeks Amgen, it's Shaun Harper their executive VP, of research and development and a. Sixteen year veteran he's going to be succeeded by David had been a senior vice, president translational scientists and oncology so there are definitely. Some changes, I'm just taking a look at the Amazon live blog stocks now up. All of their fangs are now, up around half a percent from the market close or Libya shaver she's across asset was reporters weighing in on that Amazon providing guidance. For the third quarter expecting revenues between fifty four and fifty seven point five and that is a little bit light Alice expectations. For fifty eight point zero three billion so a little, bit more insight into that one definitely will be looking for. Color from the call as that comes out and we will be monitoring. Very closely this top light blog. As you and I have talked about this it is the best cheat sheet there is. Out there for us because we, get to leverage all those great journalists and analysts Both inside this shop and outside as the sell side especially starts to pour in with their initial reactions, to. Amazon Intel Amgen. As you say we are in the, heart of the earning season. Carol no doubt about this is a busy week and speaking of earnings, we've been talking about. It all day and rightfully so. Facebook you know twenty four hours ago Jason we were all over at Facebook was your number two decliner in the s. and p. five hundred disappointment about so many different, metrics user engagement and revenue outlooks on that stock was down eighteen point nine percent in, today's session going as low as a twenty percent decline also seeing Starbucks crossed the Bloomberg terminal. Third quarter just did EPS sixty two, cents a. Share a penny better than the forecast comes. Up one percent and that's a little bit better than the forecast which was for an eight tenth of a percent. Rise let's get a quick check on your index report the vix. Down a hair down about point. Four percents of x. closing on this Thursday at twelve point twenty four you're listening to Bloomberg.
