DeSantis launches GOP presidential campaign in Twitter announcement plagued by glitches

"Florida's Republican governors announced that he's officially a candidate for president, but the announcement didn't go exactly as planned. Republican governor Ron DeSantis launched his campaign in a special Twitter space's feed. Criticizing President Biden. He lacks vigor, flounders in the face of our nation's challenges, and he takes his cues from the woke mob. But there were technical problems that led to start and stops, audio glitches, and a delay of nearly half an hour. Desantis was asked why he chose Twitter instead of traditional media. He compared it to his COVID lockdown opposition, lamenting a lack of free expression. You had to put your money where your mouth is. Even that was marred by an audio glitch. This is rivals were rough. Donald Trump tweeted the desantis Twitter launch is a disaster. His whole campaign will be a disaster. And Nikki Haley's campaign also called it a failure. But still, desantis says they raised a $1 million in the first hour after the announcement. I'm Jackie Quinn

Ledger's Shocking Move: Has Our Trust Been Betrayed?

"Every Saturday, I ask what the week before will be remembered for when it comes to crypto and the larger economy. And to me, there are two big things that stand out this week. The first is, of course, ledger. For those of you who haven't listened to the ledger episode from earlier this week, the TLDR is that on Tuesday they announced a feature called ledger recover. Now ledger recover was a way for people who were maybe new to the space or who are just generally insecure about keeping their own seed phrase on a piece of paper, which is how ledger normally does things. This new feature ledger recover would allow them to effectively have a backup. And the way that it would work is that the ledger device would send out a copy of the seed phrase split into three parts. It would go to ledger and two other companies, and the person would have to use ID verification services to request to have it come back. Now you might already have spotted some of the issues here. All of a sudden, a hardware wallet which is supposed to be a self sovereign device and totally outside of the realm of tamper ability, has introduced a whole slew of new weaknesses. There's a KYC and identity verification process, there's these three companies that are involved, but the biggest thing that had people upset was that in the past, ledger had made it seem like there was no way for the device to ever send out a seed phrase, however that seemed to be changing. Because of the device could copy that seed phrase and then encrypt it to send it out in these three parts, didn't that break the relationship that people thought they had with their ledgers? Now, over the next couple of days, ledger really dug itself into a deeper and deeper hole. At one point, it's team tweeted technically speaking it is and has always been possible to write firmware that facilitates key extraction. You've always trusted ledger not to deploy such firmware, whether you knew it or not. It's important to understand that at the end of the day, any hardware wallet solution to user chooses to go with will always require that person to trust the developer to build and maintain a secure device to store your assets. This was exactly the wrong thing to say. And just further outrage the community.

Wizards Vs. Laser Eyes for the Future of Bitcoin

"What's the vibe over in Bitcoin Miami given what's happening on chain this time of year? So I think that this year there's probably going to be a significant clash between the laser eye maxi tribe and sort of the magicians, the wizards. So Mia and my cofounder udi were sort of thinking about how can we amplify that situation even more. So what we've been doing with this NFT project that we have is that in order to get whitelist in our project and we don't do the usual thing where people are people are active in Discord or stuff like that. We have a specific thing called the wizard school. So in the wizard school, people do quests like sending a lightning transaction, interacting with the Bitcoin system. And the most recent quest that we launched was to wear a wizard hat to the Bitcoin Miami conference. So take a picture of yourself with a wizard. Because I think what's happening right now is that the existing laser eye tribe, they really blame all this original stuff on the wizards, even though they were the ones that sort of went develop, deployed and went to bat for taproot for years, and then didn't find a use case for it for years until someone thought, okay, why don't we just, why don't we just treat this upgrade as an arbitrary data blob and just feed any random stuff into the blockchain. And that's where the taproot wizards came in and said, okay, let's do some magic with this arbitrary data. So they think that we are destroying the chain, which they're the ones that's sort of got the upgrade into Bitcoin. So we just we've already been seeing a lot of animosity from their camp and there's been tweets that they've made to the effect of hunt a wizard if you see one in Miami, so we thought, let's just flood the conference with wizards. Let's show them how many we are. Let's make it a part of the wizard school to show up in a wizard hat so that maybe we'll make them feel outnumbered. What exactly do they get if they show up in a wizard hat and take a selfie? They get a slightly higher chance at a whitelist for our NFC collection.

Binance Quits Canada Over Regulatory Issues

"Let's not bury the lead. Binance has quit Canada. Citing unsuitable regulatory conditions the world's largest exchange will no longer be available for Canadian residents. In a tweet on Friday afternoon, binance said, unfortunately, today we are announcing that binance will be joining. Other prominent crypto businesses in proactively withdrawing from the Canadian marketplace. We would like to thank those regulators who worked with us collaboratively to address the needs of Canadian users. Albeit a small market, it held sentimental value for us as the home country of our founder. We had high hopes for the rest of the Canadian blockchain industry. Unfortunately, new guidance related to stablecoins and investor limits provided to crypto exchanges makes the Canada market no longer tenable for binance at this time. We put off this decision as long as we could to explore other reasonable avenues to protect our Canadian users, but it has become apparent that there are none. So I think at this stage, it's worth trying to get a little bit of the history and context for binance in Canada. Obviously they are identifying some recent limits and new guidance, but there is of course a history here and it's worth knowing. Luckily, Canadian crypto lawyer Jacob Robinson did a threat on exactly that. He writes finances founded in 2017 at which time Canadian residents had access to the platform for crypto transactions. On March 29th, 2021, the Ontario securities commission notified crypto asset trading platforms that they had until April 19th to contact OSC staff to discuss regulation. These discussions revolved around bringing crypto asset platforms, operations into compliance with Canadian securities laws. The collapse of quadriga and an investigative report led to quote regulatory takeaways applicable to crypto asset platforms, which spurred these conversations. But this common in talk actually led somewhere. There are ten registered crypto platforms in Canada, and many more gave pre registration undertakings with plans to register.

Federal Appeals Court says Elon Musk must abide by SEC settlement over 2018 tweets

"It seems Elon Musk will have a Twitter sitter after a federal appeals court ruled Monday that the CEO must abide by an SEC settlement over 2018 tweets. The settlement with the SEC required some of Musk's tweets first be approved by a Tesla attorney. It also called for Musk and Tesla to pay $20 million in civil fines over the tweets in which Musk said he had funding secured to take Tesla private. The funding wasn't secured in Tesla remains public. Muscat challenged a lower court ruling calling the pre approval mandate a government imposed muzzle that amounted to an illegal prior restraint on his speech. The appeals court disagreed, truly walker, New York.

Elon Musk Names Linda Yaccarino New Twitter CEO

"Gonna shift over to Twitter right now, breaking news this morning that there has been a new Twitter CEO selected former NBCUniversal exact Linda ocarina will be the Twitter CEO as confirmed by Elon Musk on Twitter just now. So yeah, some new leadership there. What do you guys think? Does this dash some of the hopes of a more crypto or web three powered Twitter? This is a ad exec from NBCUniversal, a Titan of traditional media and advertising. What do you think this means? What is it portend for Elon Musk's Twitter? Jen, what do you think? Well, I want to mention that binance just tweeted welcome to Linda and said, let's purge the bots together. I wonder if there are some partnerships in the works who knows maybe they are just welcoming her looking at her history, her expertise in ad revenue at NBCUniversal. I can only think that Twitter is looking at their numbers and looking at how to get some of those advertisers back who have left over the past month because of the several different controversies that have to do with both the product and the people at Twitter. I pulled some numbers that axios reported on. I don't know when they reported on them, but I pulled them earlier today. So they said back in October, Twitter projected revenue for 2023 to be at 4.7 billion, and then they adjusted that projection in March 2, 3 billion. And so I think they're looking at how to get more revenue to their platform. Maybe do some image revamping. I think it's also important to note that Elon's not really going anywhere. He's going to be the CTO. He's still going to be part of the executive team, and he's going to be executive chairman, so I think he's going to have some he'll still have some sway in what's happening. And I really hope that the crypto angle doesn't go away. I don't think it will. I mean, Elon recently made the Twitter logo doge binance is tweeting about it. Linda has some experience at the World Economic Forum. So I hope that they continue to think about how to incorporate payments into Twitter and innovate. And so I am excited to see what happens next.

For Crypto, The Partisan Ship Has Sailed

"All right Friends, it has been an extremely active couple of days in the politics of Bitcoin and crypto. First of all, Brad Sherman has just been all over the place talking about how we're all sub human tax evaders and how the U.S. should really be asking whether this industry should be allowed to exist at all. Here's a recent clip from him on Bloomberg crypto. There's this fear of missing out that we've got to keep up with other countries. Peru is way ahead of us and cocaine production, China's way ahead of us in Oregon harvesting. We don't need to keep up on those things and we don't need to keep up on crypto. As for protecting U.S. investors, investors know and they certainly know now that when you send your money to The Bahamas or Cayman Islands, you do not have protection, you could lose it all. And the idea that we should tell investors that something's licensed in the United States when it's not only as dangerous for the investors is crypto is, but as harmful to our country as crypto tries to be, I don't see a reason to do that. At the end of the day, though, Brad Sherman is going to shrm. So no surprises there. A bigger deal was on Tuesday, may 9th. The official Biden potus account tweeted, we don't have to guess what maga House Republicans value, they're telling us. Now that quote led to an image which said, we think Congress should cut, tax loopholes that help wealthy crypto investors, 18 billion. Now one kind of enjoyable thing about this was that people use Twitter's new note feature to add some context that they thought people might want to know. Quote, virtual currency is treated as property and general tax principles applicable to property transactions apply to transactions using virtual currency. When investors sell virtual currency, they must pay tax on any capital gain. There is no evidence of loopholes to avoid this. I think that the particular language used here by the presidential account is revealing. First of all, it shows Democrats getting more comfortable lumping crypto in as explicitly a partisan category.

Sheriff Mark Lamb Comments on Mayorkas' Plan to Undermine America

"Highlight something for you sheriff. Bill melus put out a tweet. He said, FYI, when you hear DHS secretary mayorkas say that migrants are placed into removal proceedings, that does not mean they are being removed. Sometimes it does, but a large majority of the time it means release with future court date, that is part of title 8 removal proceedings. Well, then he follows that up here with this is a news nation reporter on the board. He says, I'm speaking with Venezuelan migrants in El Paso who have been released with NTA's notice to appear with a court date in 2026. 2026, they get a three year Visa basically. Well, you beat me to it. I was actually telling you that the average core date was two to four years now. It's about three to 5 years from now. So they give them the ability to come into this country and not be held accountable for coming into this country illegally. They're giving them court dates from who knows when. And you don't have enough judges to process all the thousands of people that are covered. Hey, and so imagine, are those court dates ever even going to happen? And they have the statistic for those who show back up to court is extremely low. So basically, they know that once we let them in, the likelihood of them actually going through the process and becoming legal is very low, but yet they continue to do it. They know the damage this is causing yet they're refusing. They're turning a blind eye to it. And to me, it feels like it's on purpose that they are actually undermining this country. You're doing it at the southern border. It's basically like they've looked at how can we screw this up the most royally possible, let's do that.

Is the SEC's Proposed Crypto Custody Rule a Threat to the Industry?

"We're starting with what I see as one of the big crypto battles right now. It's something that might seem subtle, but I think could actually have a pretty dramatic impact. I am talking about a new proposed SEC crypto custody rule. And to get a sense of the significance, I'd point to this tweet from Tyrone Ross, who wrote, I really don't think folks understand how damaging this particular part of the new custody rule is for the space as a whole. No adviser in their right mind will attempt to comply with this. So what is going on? Well, a group of crypto players, including the blockchain association, andreessen Horowitz, and coinbase have all filed letters calling for major revisions to the SEC's proposed changes to custody rules. Jake javins gave the blockchain association tweeted, in February, the SEC proposed a new investment adviser custody rule that would restrict capital formation and put U.S. investors at greater risk. Today, the blockchain association filed a comment letter explaining how the proposal both contradicts the SEC's mission and violates federal law. Miles Jennings, the general counsel at andreessen Horowitz wrote on Friday, we filed a comment letter to the SEC's safeguarding custody rule. We did not mince words. The proposal is another misguided and transparent attempt to wage war on crypto, and if past, it will result in investor harm, market inefficiencies, and poor capital formation. Coinbase's chief legal officer Paul grill wrote earlier this year, the SEC proposed major revisions to a rule requiring RIAs to hold client assets at qualified custodians. Today we're adding our comments to the pile to explain where this proposal is misguided and how it can be improved.

Graphic Footage Shows Former Marine's Heroic Actions on Subway

"You guys were one of the first outlets that I saw yesterday and I actually saw that Charlie tweeted this link, but here you have it from the post millennial full footage reveals former marine Daniel penny putting Jordan Neely in recovery position, passengers complimenting him. You know, this is graphic footage folks, but it's important because what you have here is you have AOC and her ilk wanting to stoke a race riot. They're taking over the subway system in New York City. And yet here, this footage and we didn't play the audio because it's hard to hear, but just believe us that there are fellow passengers complimenting the former marine penny for his handling of the situation. And you actually will see in this footage that nearly is still moving and they are trying to resuscitate him or bring him back to consciousness. I mean, they keep saying, well, he's going to be fine. He's going to be fine. He just needs to kind of get his air back. What do you make of this and Libby, how did you get this so quickly? I mean, you guys were so fast on this footage. Yeah, so actually, we did not find the footage. It was found by myth informed Milwaukee, who are really close friends of ours and Sean frac is the one who founded it occurred to him to go looking for Spanish language posts about it. And so that's where he found it. It was a Spanish language post on Facebook. He sent it over to us, and we wrote it up right away. Tremendous. Yeah. So that's how we ended up with it. Well, I think it's important to note when you look at this footage that and what happened to mister Neely, it's really important to note that it takes a lot for New Yorkers to get out of their chairs on the subway and to actually deal with a crazy person on the subway. It takes a lot. So I lived in New York for a very long time. I love New York very much. Being on the subway with crazy people, what you typically do. I mean, there's crazy, I've been on the subway with people running around the car with knives. Screaming and yelling, and everybody just keeps their eyes down and hopes that the crazy person doesn't target you. I've been sat next to people on men on very crowded trains and had them do absolutely horrible things to themselves while rubbing up against me. And trying to get people to move out of the way so that I could get out of the seat. So it takes an awful lot for New Yorkers to get up and do something. So this man must have been really behaving in a nuts and crazy way

So I think it's more than important for all of us to just get better at orange pilling our friends and family because the corporate press has a lot more money. You're literally battling a $1 trillion psyop campaign against the truth. So we battle it with memes. We battle it with the truth. We battle it with having conversations with our friends and family as Nico said all the time. Every like. What do you say every like every share of every tweet and article about Bitcoin is putting your hat in the ring and this is all we have to do is save in Bitcoin, ensure that our Bitcoin isn't self custody and then spread the Bitcoin message and adding on top of that is just think about how you can spread that Bitcoin message better to your friends and family because I really believe that we have the solutions. And if we have the solutions that more people will want to be bitcoiners and if we're honest with ourselves as big corners aren't doing the best job at spreading the signal or else there would be more bitcoiners in the world. So a little PSA, I love what everyone is doing. We are all doing it in our own way, but hey, just think about it. Can you do a better job at orange pilling? All right, anyways, Nico had to pop off for a moment and he might come back in in the meme review or afterwards. So let's just get in the meme if you actually guys drop a comment in the chat if you think I'm off base or if you think maybe I'm hitting on something. So let's get into the meme review.

"No. Oh no. I assume it was supposed to be huge hits. Who knows, you know? Who knows? I'm not sure that would exist anymore, but it has been preserved prosperity. There are many screenshots circling. So yeah. Wow. That is, that's kind of magical. Boy. Anyway. Thanks for people who nominated tweets that we overlooked and neglected and you can feel free to keep them coming. But I feel good about the draft. I mean, mostly Craig Goldstein was just so comprehensive in his accounting of every tweet ever that he couldn't possibly have missed that many. Yeah, I mean, like you said, he prepped more for that than he maybe has for anything. In his life. And it just is a testament to how everyone tweets too much, really, that we were able to miss any because I felt like we really gave it a thorough canvas, but apparently, you know, there have been a lot of tweets. Yeah, there are what? Sometimes, I will notice that someone has tweeted something often a piece that I might want to read. And I forget about it. Or I open it in a tab, but then I close the tab because I'm in constant battle with the tabs. Also newsletters, you know? Everyone's thinking about doing newsletters now, even more everyone that is already doing newsletters is thinking about doing newsletters. And I have a folder in my Gmail that is just newsletters, and I like to think that it's like, someday I might read that. And I know, but I can't have some of my inbox. It's extraneous. Anyway, that's not the point of this story, but there's like a whole folder of newsletters, and it's like, but there's good stuff in there. I'm never gonna find out. But anyway, so I will go back to people's shorter timelines to be like, oh yeah, I know that Craig tweeted that thing. And then I just am like, there's so many tweets and I don't want to pick on Craig because this happens with a lot of different people. With Craig specifically also. Often with Craig. And I will just sit there and be like, how are there this many? Tweets and Craig does a much better job. I should praise Craig as I am as I am making fun of him. Because my baseline tolerance for Twitter is a lot lower than any of the people that were on that bike. I probably don't do as good a job as I should of tweeting all the good stuff that people write for fan graphs. And Craig is a very, very good job of that for baseball perspective. So this is me giving a hat tip to our friend Craig for that. But sometimes I'm like, you know, I already read those things. Like BP is a place where I reliably read, you know? Yes. I'm trying to find that other thing. You tweeted and I can't because there's been an entire human historical record between now and this morning. Anyway, Twitter, I don't know if I'll miss it. I suspect I won't another friend of ours in the biz in the industry was like, so what's everyone get to migrate to? And I was like, I don't know, I don't think I can figure out messed it on. It seems too complicated. And I guess I'm going to have to, though, and another friend was like, do you? Like we're over 35, can't we just be done? Do we have to learn a new thing? Yeah. Right. Yeah. People sometimes ask like, well, do you have to be on Twitter for your job? And no, not necessarily. I have colleagues who are not on Twitter or at least don't have Twitter accounts and don't tweet, they may lurk. So if you have to be there, then I guess it gets to be in a position. And I don't necessarily have to be there. I find that it is helpful often for my job. It's helpful often for reporting, just in contacting people, and it's helpful for learning things and seeing things and becoming aware of things that I wouldn't have become aware of, which is not always a good thing, but is sometimes a good thing. So I do find it helpful and as you said, even if we forget to read some of the things that we see on there that we meant to read, we still see some of them. So it helps. But could I do my job? Not being on there, or if it were to cease to exist. Yeah, probably. So. Well, and here, I think we will both acknowledge that we sit in a pretty fortunate position and that we are already full-time and established. And so it is much easier for us to say, no, I don't have to be on there. I don't have to be active on there because we're not within the freelance life anymore. So, you know, people's mileage on the necessity of the app is really going to vary, I think, for reasons beyond us all being brain poisoned by the Internet. But yeah, I think it's just like anything. You got to know where your own boundary with the thing is and it might be different from other people's like I'm less anxious if I'm not on there a ton. And so I try not to be. But I also watched into the social room, said, hey, I can pot, and then immediately open Twitter. You know, who am I to judge, really? No one. I'm no one to judge. I am trying to be less judgmental. Was there any baseball news today? Well, I was not a ton. No, not really. There hasn't been a ton of baseball news since we last actually talked about baseball news. There have been a few transactions. I guess we never actually circled back to talk about the Kyle Lewis trade. He thought about that. We talked about the task or Hernandez. But there was also a Kyle Lewis trade. So if you have belated thoughts on the Kyle Lewis Cooper hummel, Mariners Diamondbacks swap. Well, I have a couple of things to say about that. The first of which is that I just, I think that we can sometimes get overly enchanted with makeup as a concept, not like the kind you put on your face, but in the baseball sense. I've never heard anything but just like really wonderful things about Kyle Lewis and I feel badly for him as a human being and for the rest of us as people who like watching good baseball players that he just has struggled so much to stay healthy. He blew out his knee in a freak terrible way when he was still a prospect. So I don't know what the Diamondbacks will really be able to get out of him. We have seen what the good version of Kyle Lewis looks like and it is rookie of the year caliber albeit in a compressed season. I don't really think the Kyle Lewis can play center field anymore just because of the toll that the injury has taken on his speed, but I also think that the Diamondbacks have a lot of other options there, including Dalton varsha for reasons that will remain mysterious for the rest of our lives. And I like I like it for the D backs because Kyle Lewis is not often healthy but can be very productive and impactful when he is. And so if he can stay healthy, he seems like the kind of player who a team in the D backs position. I thought this was a very good point that Justin Choi made when he wrote up the trade for us. This is exactly the kind of guy who the D back should try to cycle through and hopefully because I like Kyle Lewis and think he seems like a good dude like hopefully this works out for him specifically but more generally like them moving through sort of post prospect guys to see who are players who can supplement what we're trying to do as we're breaking this emergent core in at the major league level. Like this is what they should do.

Even as no action was taken lawmakers say the Secret Service detail of former vice president Mike Pence was frantically trying to move him from the capital, they just played audio from that. Despite safety concerns, witnesses say former president Trump continued to watch TV and that he was only interested in making calls to senators to try to alter the certification of the presidential election, and he tweeted criticism of former vice president Pence shortly before two 30 as people were calling for hanging the vice president. "And you know chef to be in the guy that he is was like, yo, I did not look at it that way. People got to understand when they come to wojciech. These dudes sometimes are like robots. They don't catch insensitivity in every tweet. They don't. I'm not telling people don't be mad at it. You got to write to be mad. I was mad about the tweet, but see, so that's not an excuse. That's just the reality of what wolves and shifty are. They fire off a million tweets a year, okay? Real quick. They badly sleep. No, but no, the people need to realize this. I'm serious about this. They barely sleep. They may get free or four hours of sleep every 24 hours. Because they have go in, though. I got some. I got details about the tweet and the text exchanges that transpired that I ain't gonna share, 'cause I don't give a damn about the public being mad at me. I know what transpired. I don't care. Let me tell everybody on Twitter that was mad at me. I do not care. You know what? Okay, so let me get to this last point on this particular situation. I'm gonna be through with it. All right? Because what I felt bad about through all of that conversation is that it got lost. We lost Dwayne Haskins. A 25th, a 24 year old dude and I hate saying this because you know that we got this term called clout chasing in our community. Now, I was I checked on Dwayne Haskins every once in a while. Right? Like, I would hit him in the DM. I would text him how you doing, man, you good. I checked on him because I know what he went through in Washington. I know that that was a terrible situation. And I wanted a young man to keep his head right. And then when he got with Mike tumblr and I said bro, you in a great situation with the coach that's going to stay and you go there and do your work and that's what he was in Florida doing. Unfortunately, it was a bad situation accident and he lost his life. That got lost. That's what I felt bad about. Throughout all of this conversation about the chef de tweet and you tap dancing for the white man and what got lost is there's a family morning a 24 year old man that was on his way to having a successful NFL career. There's a wife mourning a 24 year old husband that was just beginning to start they like. That is where I want to apologize because that got lost in all of that BS that was going on. But let me tell y'all something man, I got a ton of respect for our cousins and Kim folks. I got a ton of respect for fans. "So first of all. I think we all that chrissy teigen has been a particularly horrible person online because yes a lot of people have said mean things on twitter but to chase people into their. Dm's yeoman like mike tyson coming to punch one more time at home after the fight. It's pretty up and you know what's really wild about this. Whole story is that chrissy. Teigen was in this world of ritual and hates when her husband is famous for singing the most uplifting love ballads sitting on the couch tweeting that people should kill themselves and john legend was ten feet away in the same room singing. All those all view and honestly. I'm glad that chrissy teigen is owning up and gather. She's owning up to being a horrible person online because that is what we want rights. We want people to be better and we want people to grow. It doesn't immediately excuse what they did before. But i think it's way better than them not learning and growing and you know even though the story was so messed up. What ready gives me hope. Is that back when chrissy was bullying people online. Millions of people cheering for her but now a lot of those people are criticizing her for that same thing which yes on. The one hand is hypocritical but on the other hand is good because it shows you that society has evolved. Which is what we're always trying to do. We don't want to accept the shit that we used to. Please don't get me wrong online. Bullying still happens way too often but at least now there's much more awareness of how harmful it can be and for that we obviously must think malania. I'll know how she did it. You don't think she held a press conference one time and stood in front of a sign and the next thing you know we best but you know this apology also made me think about why exactly chrissy teigen was so brutal to people to begin with because let's be real chrissy. Teigen was far from the only asshole on twitter right. Yeah she might have been one of the biggest and one of the best at its but being on twitter does a lot like when dogs meet at the park assholes on display everywhere. That's one of the mexicans like what we have to understand. Is that social media pushes people into being the most asshole ish self roasting people dunking on them. That's how you get the lights. That's how you get the retweets. It's how you have fun. How you get to be part of the group and the platforms want you to spend all your time on them so they send you stuff to outrage you. A few people are tacking someone and and they put that in the trending topics five. People duncan some random guy and then twit us. Oh maybe everyone in the world would enjoy dunking on this. Random guy is the rent gonna enjoy it. Yeah whatever whatever. He didn't want the whole world tending into get aids. He shouldn't have posted that tweets forty five followers. He wanted this. So then what are you end up with you end up with millions of people looking to roast each other to say the nastiest things that they can think of until they go too far and then all of a sudden the outage. They were a part of tons on them. And that's not a mistake. It's how the system is set up to keep us all online and to keep making money for the platforms because think about chrissy. Teigen wasn't going up to people in real life telling them to kill themselves. In fact most of the things people say to each of online they would never desk say to another human being in real life. but there's something about the platform that incentivizes people to be the worst versions of themselves and until we ask ourselves why all we're doing is chasing the symptoms and not the cores and look. I'm not gonna pretend that. I'm better than anyone else. I mean. lord knows. I've said things on twitter. That i wouldn't say today and i don't know how to fix this. The truth is though that people being dixon the incident is probably going to be a problem for a long time. And it's going to be a problem as long as these platforms reward people for being dick's online. You know the last week before the ocean swallows us all up is going to be someone saying like y'all look at this iceberg melting like a bitch. But i will say this. We can't change the platforms overnight but the least we can do is make an effort as individuals to be a little less cruel. And i'm not saying every tweet has to be smiles and gumdrops. We can still be humans. We can still have fun. But maybe maybe just aim for that giant space between chrissy teagan. Hey tweets and any. John legend song all right when we come back. "And we're back. Well now it's time for the part that everybody loves the most. It's the three true section. This is the part of the show where we all play a game. This is a game that was sent to us by who and it was on celebrity impressions couples therapy each person rates down the name of a celebrity and passes it to their left. Then the three people begin to see the therapist office where one person chosen at random as the therapist and the other two are a couple with a dispute that needs to be resolved. The the seen as the celebrity. They've been passed now. We think the best way to do this is for one person to be the therapist and the other to assign a celebrity to each other and then the therapist has to guess who they are. So jawline i paul. And i will be the couple in. We're going to text each other Who we are right now and then lauren. You're going to have to guess who we are. We have each other's phone numbers we. "Trump on this one is journalists are buying large leftist and the rest they would hang on every tweet and report it and use it to get air time on cable. Yup absolutely was. They didn't even have to do journalism with him. The could wake up in the morning and he'd given tweets and his material to talk about for the. That's the true if it sells electric cars then great. What is being read the story. Let's give a little back story here. Okay so elon. Musk and twitter some of the things that he had done and got investigated by the sec. Which needs some tougher rules and regulations start with elon. Musk needs to. He made a lot of money on tesla's stock. I made a lot of money. On tesla options this past year. So that isn't it. I've i should be probably thank you must be. I want them on twitter because now he's crossed the line. I have a high tolerance for people who make me money. But even i have to go to the higher good the greater good at some time and started when he said on twitter that he was taking tesla private that it was already practically a done deal. No no darn right no. He just said that to manipulate the price. I allegedly by me that it was an attempt to manipulate the price to screw shortsellers. Okay well that was between a rich billionaire and a bunch of lesser rich billionaires multi-million. Right if you fall for that kind of of the opinion you should've lost money progressive because dick commercials of funding is a bottle like their commercials. Dinner they do have good some. I have a preference for any particular insurance company. You know what. I wanna know how we can get. They can produce runners funny stuff in a commercial for like football but baseball. The commercials basically a boring and tv show like saturday night. Live but also like fifteen years. It's not even funny anymore. Okay since i've never been shows a funny people after all pretty it just like the talk to you morning. Oh coups the prettiest and who's the most read on another celebrity and and they come on talk for forever.

"From a friend. That's from a senior official in the obama biden administration. And so it's is a conundrum. Israelis don't wanna panic but trump was so whatever else you thought about him. He had huge positive ratings here in israel because of what he did not not because of every tweet every controversy but because the man just proved himself he loved israel and was willing to stand with us in every possible way. We've never seen an american president. Be so pro israel as donald trump. You can say whatever else you want about him. I was never trumper just for context in the two thousand sixteen campaign. I will just say. I know this is not a part of it just so people have contact where my cards. I was against him but i did ultimately hold my nose and vote for him. In the end. I actually was invited to meet with him in the oval office and in that meeting i i told him the story and i said look i was against you. I voted for you super reluctantly but in the end you will go down in history as the most pro life but also the most pro israel president in the history of the united states of america. And that's pretty good. And i walked through all the reasons. Why so isreaeli worried. And they don't like whereby heading on a rom they don't like the fact that biden didn't even call israeli prime minister netanyahu for more than a month after taking the oath of office. So there are. There are concerns but nobody wants to hit the panic button yet because historically so friendly i don't think he means it. I don't think he. I don't think he intends his policies to be harmful to israel but sometimes they have been. I hope you've been enjoying this time. That we've had with joel rosenberg. He mentions throughout the interview that he made to israel him and his family live in jerusalem. And we'll talk about that during during our interview with him but jerusalem matters. There's a reason that joel rosenberg packed his family up from america and moved over to jerusalem. And it's because really jerusalem is the epicenter of what god is doing. In god's plan of redemption god's heart is in jerusalem and we want to invite you you might not be able to go to jerusalem with us now especially during corona virus. But we want to invite you to an online conference that we're going to be holding called jerusalem in prophecy. It's going to be july eighteenth through the twentieth. Twenty twenty one and you can actually register today. Steve's going to be talking about ways that you can connect and register for our conference but we're gonna be talking about what's so significant about the city of jerusalem. Why did god choose that city. You know world powers have been wrestling for control of jerusalem for three thousand years. But god has the final. Say on its destiny. So you're going to want to join us online to learn what god's word says about the history of jerusalem and it's bright prophetic future. Yeah this is our third online conference since the beginning of the pandemic and it's been a great way for us to connect with their audience and partners who we would.

"Get another league's The amount of sources talking to each other a lot of it is is is very much kept under wraps a major league soccer so As far as players make the matter of a problem with it. yeah. I can't really think of anybody so but Now i guess we gotta we gotta we gotta jump into this this unfortunate But a news The dropped out last week. Apparently a part of city fam- dug up some tweets Where Paul arreola at the age of seventeen Said some Frankly racist racist rhetoric and Also very sexist rhetoric And it is. I guess it's more i think. The reaction of the fan base wasn't anger. A lot of it was disappointment. I think is the best way to describe it. It's disappointing this is. This is a player who has probably i mean cost of leaving rooney leaving sort of himself up as as the as a fan favourite i think amongst fans His absence in twenty twenty certainly felt so. This is disappointing. And it's it's it's yeah. That's about the best way i can describe. It is the i i. I think that he's from what i said from the start of this was that i hope and i assume that he has grown. Since then i think that. That's i think that's none of the thoughts that came out then have been in evidence and anything else that we know about him since then so i think that's important. I think it's important that he apologized. I think the apology was very good about. It was extensive of the right things. I think it matters what his teammates think about him. As a person before this and then sort of probably probably have to address this. I would imagine when he gets back. He's going to do some on conscious unconscious. Bias training So you know. It's impossible to know how he can make it better for everyone. I think I think that he's obviously going to have to address it some more. I think he's gonna have to do some more things but to to me to me. He does not seem to be this guy he was and i think it's important to give people space to grow and learn from their mistakes and let them prove that they're the person that they that they say they are. And i think they'll probably want to be more outspoken as a person through maybe through the team or whatever else so people can really see his character. Most of what everyone knows about him is on the field and the way he plays in his personality on the field and generally. That would have been fine. But i think now that this is. This is sort of a narrative it's going to circle because if you know if you know sports like someone will bring this up in every tweet about him for ever. Now it'll just be in the comments..

"On satur- note did jeez. This is where the indian the wrestling world gets a little dim this week. Ladies and gentlemen as one of the main main topics of conversation this week was the announcement that synergy pro wrestling founder colin west. Who is known as patrick shea has officially been outed as a convicted child molester and synergy pro wrestling is practically done i w. Tv has also announced that there will be no longer working with synergy pro wrestling and This is this news actually came today. You know It was announced that khan was was outed as a convicted child molester in nineteen ninety nine. He was arrested for aggravated criminal. Sexual contact in nineteen thousand nine the record state that he was convicted of sexually assaulting three acquaintances between the ages of six and ten and a separate case. He was convicted of sexually assaulting a twelve year old male. Now wow All the workers who worked for that company are on our disgusted. They're actually heartbroken because people actually liked this guy and there's a lot of sad sad faces a lot of sad wrestlers and workers in the wrestling world right now. Who are looking at this as as a really bad day in pro wrestling. Because like i'm i'm i'm going on twitter and every single tweet is about this topic. Every tweet is about about saying how how colin was a great guy. How could this. How could this be. I'm i'm shocked. But i'm not shocked like this is happening. The i'm more shocked at like. No one had an idea that this was a fucking remembered that arrest are public record so you could always do your research if you wanted to but i what other. Because he was loved he would love this. Because you getting booked anyway right. All it is about you getting booked and you don't really do the research about Who's booking you all is like. Do they pay here. we go. that's what it is you don't you don't and that's the only thing that i say about this whole stories that i'm hoping that the rest is don't get penalized because of the they're frightening. There's they're frightened on tour too frightened. They're like please. Don't associate myself with anything with this. Man is about them getting booked unless you knew that does do a scumbag day. A shocked a lot of people fucking unless he knew that these individuals scumbags the Can i i. I can't even can't even say individuals because i've had conversations with wrestlers who knew about certain promoters and they were like i don't fuck with them because it is and we never shared it on show because it was a we you know they were. It was told to us Undisclosed we couldn't share. That was very off the mike and but they told us i. I don't fuck with this. I was like why didn't know that great..

"Your host Gabrielle founder of girl at the game and a love Nelson and we are back and football season is over so I don't have to pretend to care anymore screw way too excited for me right now. I am weirdest feeling of melancholy thoughts. Okay. Well to be fair. I'm like in a huge baseball mood today. I'm not kidding you right now in front of me on the TV. The screen is paused at Drew Barrymore getting a CT scan after getting hit off. Ball and fever pitch. I'm in full Red Sox mode today. All I can think about is Fenway Park. All I can think about is baseball. I just I'm ready. Like my body is ready. Well, that's good because we have not an interview with Martin Perez later in the show. That's one of the reasons why I'm so fired up. However, Tom Brady won his seventh Superbowl yesterday and we need to discuss it. Did you watch the game if I watched you mean? I sat on the couch with the game on the TV, but I had my airpods in watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians on my computer then yes, I watched the Super Bowl if I watch the Superbowl, you mean watch the Superbowl the no I did not watch the Superbowl. So obviously may I was working the game not physically there hanging out on the couch watching the game, which was quite nice if you mean the Safeway, so it was kind of just hanging out looking for stuff to write about In the game and honestly aside from the two Brady to Growing passes and I was really excited about the rest of the time watching the game. I'm really glad I was distracted by thoughts and looking for stuff to write up because just watching what an absolute just they dominated the game, right? It was so it was kind of really boring other than that off and I just know as a Patriots fan if that were the Patriots in this game, I would be so hyped and so excited and I would be up to like 4 a.m. Just Patriot sport every single post game interview, like every tweet that was tweeted. I need that content and I live for that and watching him do it in a different Jersey. Like I don't I just miss him like I'm sad. I've been really distracted all season long and like it's been fun to watch him for another team, but it really hit me in the Super Bowl that he's not a patriot..

"That's why this trump getting kicked off. Twitter is a little bit a little bit bigger than i think. Some people might be recognizing that obviously big anywhere from scituate censorship standpoint but it's more than added the rewriting of history right in front of our face trump. This is a four year historical record from a sitting president of public statements that were completely transparent for everybody to search. And look at and you can verify things. How many times it cnn have a breaking news story. That was about trump tweet where they didn't even show the tweet on screen because they were mischaracterizing. It and then the way that you debunk. Their is you actually go to the tweet itself and you show the full context that you can no longer do that. There's also tons of threads used to be out there on twitter of people who would show the lies the media like the fine people live. There's a bunch of threads that were showing in detail how that was a lie. Those are probably all gone for from twitter for the most part in trump used to defend himself on twitter so they can change history by deleting history. I mean they're talking about processing or yes from nineteen. Eighty-four is literally a memory hole and that that here. Here's my question about this question about this. We're are those tweets. Surely that in delete them they might say deleted all of them or is it more likely that they preserve them somewhere where they just made them less transparent wurley a small number of people could get them because if they want to use them in a criminal court case. They're going to need those tweets. I don't know if it's still true but back in the day and every time i've ever checked on this. Every single tweet is in the library of congress. Your tweets mites weeds every tweet so they have to be somewhere. Nothing is erased now. You've really utterly throw acid on something to gripe come That's what people should think about. Who are really celebrating. This is these tweets haven't been deleted. They've just been. You've been blocked from seeing them okay. So the world has become less transparent. Official communication of a president has become less transparent because a small number of people what to control that they want you to see it so it's not just trump not being able to tweet in the future you don't have access to his tweet in the past at is so interesting and i noticed something else but i didn't. I didn't think about that. And it's so true. But when i was noticing was when you go back you look back and you say well. People didn't know slavery was wrong. People didn't know that like they called indigenous people primitive and savages. And they just didn't know. And i have seen plenty of contemporary writings where they did know and they argued. People were arguing. It's like abolitionist. People in england were arguing. Like you can't go and take the indians lands. You can't enslave africans and the counter argument. Which i think was disingenuous is that they would say well. Those people don't have souls. they're not human. They're standing in the way of progress. They don't contribute their parasites on the land. That kind of thing and it's so exactly the same language that you hear in the abortion debate that i realized that there. It's it's propaganda that counters those arguments and then those arguments are totally suppressed over time and you. They may be as a footnote here. There if you do research but most people never ever hear the real story or the competing narratives and now that you point out there literally leading making it impossible for us and it's hard enough to search twitter already but that is really interesting that that ah there because in this information age re kind of should have access everything they have to raise the past..

"Broad on like all social platforms. We go really deep into twitter and so basically you start off with just scheduling. But then say okay. I want to have this tweet. Retweeted after a couple of hours or you know in this tweet does well. I went to a a tweet to it. Create a threat. So you'll already mentioned it. You know if if If you want to plug something you know your show or something. You're selling You want to do on a tweet that does really well instead of doing to every tweet and not getting noticed and so you know we have this other plaque function and we have you know evergreen stuff or you can just say okay every day at nine and when the tweet something from my list of best tweets so i we go really really deep into the twitter sphere. Why did you choose twitter to to build your Empire on yeah. Good question i so i actually didn't start hi fury. I came across founder. Sami on the has forum and he was looking for a a guy who could or go to marketing and to him. And yeah we chatted on. What's happened telegram. And then you know we got on the phone and he spoke to a couple of people and one guy was like yeah. We're going to raise money and we're going to blow it up and it's gonna be great and the other one is promising all the american dream and i was like i'm from the netherlands europe. I'm a little bit more you know. Let's stay real. We're gonna grow business. We're gonna have a lot of fun but have to stay real. And yeah that story resonated the most with him so then. I flew to paris at to meet him. It's just an hour by plane so it's not that far for me but Yeah so we had a chat. We had dinner where he just had fun. And then yeah with decided to. You know i jokingly say i did like an internship for him adds to prove that i wasn't shit and a do growth and so for two months i worked on healthcare for free and just to show you know that could grow the company which i did. And that's balls. That is ball's man is saying. I trust what you're doing. Yeah yeah so. There were a couple of things i was thinking. Hey should i put so. There's this i can either. I go all in. But you know if i lose. I didn't say i want x. Amount of money. If you say no anyway i was like i know i can do this i i. I'm gonna prove myself. And there's no way in hell he's gonna say no so that that was basically my attitude and that's how i landed a partnership with him and yeah we're now. I'm the co founder the founder and yeah we have A nicer structure going. You know when. I think about the american dream right. We're kind of told that the dream is that you can decide whatever you wanna be. Go out and get it. And that's the joy of america and freedom so it's really interesting to me that this is the mentality that you have as a person from the netherlands. So are we mistaken in believing that is somehow you know american centric value or is that also a european or is it a new generational thing and the funny that. You're asking this. Because i was thinking about your peter steel question. That might come up later. I don't know. But i think a lot of people are coasting through life..
