Sue, You're on w g N. What can we do for you on the air? Good morning, John. I want to make one comment. First. My daughter in law was a baby sitter for you in Peoria and her parents name are John and Linda. Small world. That's the same size that the Saints Absolutely just thinking about my dad that my daughter in law is their daughter. What? What a great family. What to riff? Oh, my gosh. Well, my son was very lucky when he met her, but I wanted to make a comment. They live in the South suburbs south suburb just next to the city, and there are private. Learning centers popping up in every empty storefront. And Evergreen Park and Oakland getting really Yes, I guess that's a good thing, right? I mean, I'm worried about the people who don't have access to like it. That's exactly that. That is exactly the problem. But people feel like Spend all they spend a fair amount of property kicks money to educate to pay for public education, and they don't feel that Public education system is giving to their kids what they need at this point in this crisis that we're in So people that can afford it. As I guess is the way of the world with many, many things. Are sending their kids to these learning, but that's going to look into that. That's interesting, You know. I mean, look at the end of the day. You have to look out for your family. Your obligation is to your kid first. So if you want to send your kid to one of those things, I'm not judging you at all. Lucky you. I just hope they don't recognize that. The difference work we're going to be creating here. Some people won't be awake for that. I have absolute most people won't be able to afford it quite, you know, quite frankly. But I don't know It's it's just a terrible, terrible situation that we're in and People are just looking for ways to keep their kids engaged in learning and moving forward now, so we'll say Hi, son. And your daughter and son in law are Senate daughter in law, Your son and daughter in law, son and daughter in law yet? Yes, my My mother. My daughter in law's name was Mary Shade. And she told me she used to baby sit for your boys. They were good ones. You betcha. Yeah, thanks for that. They are You have a great day, John. Thank you. But thank you. I was a junior broadcaster in Peoria. Just cut my teeth. Doing the morning show on WNBC Great radio station. They got good people down there if you're in central Illinois. Sanes were a family live in our neighborhood. They were a little bit older than us. Their kids were old enough to baby sit ours a little bit older than us. They were a little higher on the social ladder in Peoria, and so on occasion they would invite us over for dinner with other couples, and I felt like we had arrived. And the sort of business social circle of Peoria when we were with them. And I'll never forget when I think about the Sanes that that was the first time I ate peas in public hears the story. I did not like peas. And they're on your plate, and they served peas and Brenda looked at me like, Well, how is that going to work out for you, Big boy? And I wasn't crazy about fish that they had fish and peas for dinner. And everybody got a nice and plates around the big dining room table with fancy stuff on it. And I'm sitting there wherein my best shoes from T. J. Maxx and I'm thinking, all right, I'm gonna have to eat thes things and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get him down. Cause I have a gag reflex and that would look bad in this environment. Did they have a dog by the table? They did not. If they did, he did not know about me. And maybe he wasn't crazy about peas anyway, So I went ahead and ate the peas. And this is what I discovered. Peas aren't so bad. You know, nobody ever put a gun to my head and said You got a piece. I just knew I didn't like him. Well, it wasn't my first choice. I found that I was able to chew them in a way that didn't make it look like I was just accomplishing them. I actually chewed them like a person with ups, and they were pretty good. That is the end of my story about the Sainz and meeting piece. And if her mother in law hadn't called today, we would have never heard that story. Aren't you glad she called? I'm so happy. My number's 3129817 200 If you want to talk about vegetables hello? "Test it. We have all of the information on our website back to you. Thank you, Gina. What's happening with the weather? Thomas here and you got that really hot stuff coming in. For now. Rain is the story. Yes, it ISS and Patrick. You want to see the number is going up on our exclusive Weatherbug network will show you that In a moment we started with a high of 88. But boy, it's a lot cooler as we go right now. Look at the current temperatures winds are blowing in from the Northeast. They'll do that tomorrow. We may have trouble hitting 80 degrees tomorrow, and it may be more like 70 at the lakefront. It's 67 raining at O'Hare right now, with a strong North North east wind that's going to blow tomorrow too. Probably good. The beaches are closed because we're gonna rip currents and waves on the lake with this kind of flow pattern that will break down quickly and latest into the weekend heat there the temperatures you see the wind vectors coming off the lake and interesting little corridor of rain from Waukegan. Back to the diction area, and it's really coming down under that. We also have heavy rains through the southern suburbs. There are the icons mark the heaviest shells right now on the lightning. And that's mainly south of us. The southern suburbs getting whacked with pretty general rain now, but the lightning fast fading from the scene as you can see right there. Now hear the rain numbers said. These air going up by the minute. Can't get key upto 1 74 Courtland out into Camp County, 1 63 Evergreen Park's over an anche Heyburn, Indiana. Over. Well close to 9/10 invention. There are some other ones. Plus, we've had some wind gusts downstate with these this storm as well. Here's the forecast more rain. That's as of midnight tonight, Heaviest again from the city and south. There's the set up a 2 a.m. And then things begin to wind down and we don't even get a little perhaps of Sprinkle tomorrow but a little bit of sunshine. This is the forecast of an average of several models. Uh, starting at about seven o'clock tonight says some of this rain is already down. But it gives you an idea how widespread the ring coverages and the good news is partly sunny, breezy weather tomorrow with a north northeast wind will include some lower temperatures and a slow increase in the amount of sunshine is Cloud cover begins to break down. We do go into the heat, though there is nothing to suggest that changed 97 Saturday 96 on Sunday 100% chance of rain overnight. Just down to 15% tomorrow morning and 5% Thursday. No ring tomorrow night Friday and probably Saturday might be a thunderstorm Sunday will keep an eye on that. That could affect the daytime high, But for now, we're going with 96 which is well above average. There's the last of the tornado watch in the yellow area, and the green area is a flood advisory. That's near. Those central Illinois eight inch rain tallies, not far from the Peoria area is the low pressure that is producing our reign at the moment. Moves on a little bottle of high pressure comes in tomorrow. BC out like the winds are by later tomorrow and tomorrow night. That's why there might be a little patchy fog. But look how the winds turn southerly and start to pick up after Friday night, so we're going to go into a windy Saturday with that flow right up from the Gulf and look at the moisture. This thing is delivering bid 70 in a low 80 degree dew points that's about as high as it gets around here, and at the same time, a big dome of hot air is developing through the atmosphere. So here Heat indices tomorrow. Nineties and above in the Red area, hundreds in the yellow area. There's the setup on Friday. We're starting to sneak into the warm air and then the real heat comes in here on Saturday and lasts into Sunday, and here are some numbers attached. To the heat indices that we're expecting Saturday and I'll tell you some of these numbers over Chicago. Maybe conservative. It's conceivable we could get up over 105 and even in spots 110 degrees on the Heat index that makes it a dangerous level of heat and Sunday is pretty warm as well. Seven are the 11th day forecast see the little drop in temperatures Monday Tuesday Wednesday, then we go right back up again is the heat surge is back in late next week. So here, the high temperatures top line is this week. Bottom line is all of next week and you'll see how by the end of next week. We're up in the mid nineties again. So this is a summer that's running way ahead of normal on nineties and on temperatures. And that's going to continue showers. Some brief downpours tonight Lighter showers in the predawn low 65 north northeast winds seven away team Tomorrow. If there's a lingering shower, it will be early and we'll be out of here. Attorney. Partly sunny, breezy, cooler high 79 tomorrow 70 at the Lakeshore and the North Northeast win 10 to 22. If the day off and go out on the lake here to be bouncing around it up. 23 foot seas. Scattered clouds. Warm, humid tomorrow night Little patchy fog Low 68. And Friday, mostly sunny. We begin the warm up 91 inland mid eighties lakeshore, and that's just the beginning because the heat is really going this weekend. Saturday and Sunday, 97 96 respectively. So that's that's some authentic July weather. Thank goodness guys. It's on the weekend. For a lot of folks, But folks work on the weekend too. So if you're outside working in that you wanna be careful. We'll keep you posted on that on our show's tomorrow. I'm like up, Patrick..

"I wanna take John rolling meadows. I though, hey John, what's going on? Hey guys, thanks for taking my call Jordan. I'm glad that you have family coming in. I've lost both of my brothers want to cancer. And and one, you know, died violently shooting himself in the head. So I know what it's all about ninety four but I'm glad you have family there to help you through this weekend. That's important. John, thank you very much. I appreciate those kind words. You know, I would happy with I would happy that they got white. You know, he's athletic. He's quick. He can develop into a good point guard. I think this team but what do you think about it? You didn't get this draft. Maybe as a free agent go out and get that Scottie Pippen type player that you can work that he will grow with, you know, defensively offense of, you know, like a second type ball handler take some of the pressure off of point. I don't know. Yeah. They've got plenty of guys like that. And they liked the second second round pick that they took as a project inside guy. So it's gotta get stronger. He's got to be better. But, you know, there's a reason he's sitting there in the second round that no one else to taking John. Thanks, man. Corey evergreen park Corey. Thank you guys. Good morning. Thanks for taking my call. Thanks for calling. I don't think people are talking enough about the annual gap, but I'm gonna tell you why real quick. He reminds me a little bit of Capella. We haven't had a guy in a while back and get a blocked shot, and then run the floor and catch a lot on the other end this guy is a good deal. I think he is a more athletic time, have not seen Chicago. So I'm just saying man, we got all these guys that kind of caught up the middle. But we need some guy with the NBA. Now a big man that can run to the moon. Quick cappella get most of the lob, I don't mind that we've got scored. I think we're going to look back at stake. What deal and reshape the call. I'm not mad at Corey for saying that because there's a part of me agrees when you're talking about how Koby white likes to play fast, how these bowls are going to try and run how all the pieces on a floor change. Well, we're gaffer thrives. You know you're always taught as bigs run hard rebound hard, and that can get you close to double figures game and do the little things he doesn't need to worry about necessarily developing that jump shot right away. That is something you're gonna have to Volve into because bigs are going to be required to shoot at some point in their career, bef- right now playing hard, having a motor Joachim. No made a career out of that kind of thing. So that could be something it just be tough play with effort play hard. You have true impact, I think African bring that to these both herald in York Ville hair, welcome to the shell kit. Hey camper sprinkle? Great. He'll always thanks man. I was kinda hoping the we're are gonna take Admiral field. Forty two. I thought he would have been great as far as just not about blowing offset way. I like the he was senior not underclassmen. I think that was probably they probably should have got just wanted to hear your opinion on that. I mean he's a really good player. He's a local kid from Zion Benton. And we've create your call, by the way, he is a very talented guy. But they wanted a big that's why they were really interested in Jackson Hayes. They loved his. I guess they loved his workout and thought raw a chance to be a really good player. But the obviously weren't gonna leave Kobe white on the board when he fell to them. So but they like Jackson hazing going eight. Yeah. There's, there's three guys, I would have liked four guys Lucan store think at I would've liked him. He drafted at all. Eric Paskal is Draymond green. In a way, in terms of guy, you could throw a bunch of spots on the four six six undersized. Power Ford can shoot it. And it's very good ball skills guard one through four on the floor. I would've loved him. I would've loved Scofield because where the Bo struggle immensely was shooting the three Scofield is a very capable shooter with size and strength is built like Manley six four plays a lot bigger than that. Does he play like Denzel Valentine? No. He's, he's a different caliber player, Denzel Valentine so and he's more athletic than as a different caliber player. What does that mean he's a man kind of look at Amer walking down the street, and then look at Denzel Valentine walking down the street and he looks like he's a monster? I mean he's shot. Number two, he go. Scofield went. Second tech. This forget, Denzel Valentine was the fourteen and was a guy that a lot of people had is uncertain polls as player of the year. It's fair to put them in the same boat. I mean you can do that for anybody guy would have liked Kyle guy. I mean look, he's six to a lot of people surprised you came out this year to year. He had win national championship but he's shooter. And if you're going to thirty eight nine second round why not ads shooting? There's different ways you could go. I do not hate the gaffer pick Gifford will provide something I would have just like more offense of firepower from the team Kyle guy could see where they from that because the defense is there who's he going to guard in the league is probably closer Higo the Knicks fifty five. Right. We gotta take time out. We'll have more calls, and there's a new study in the cubs clubhouse made his major league debut last night was really, really good talking about all that coming up next. Those sports talk leader. Mitch cliff talks with Waddle. And Silvy today I can't get over all of the whole runs that.

"And in, in being all areas of Chicago next. Dave Bill Buckner died at sixty nine made them. Sure I covered the cubs when he was in his heyday with them in the late seventies and really and into the early eighties. And look the guy was a professional hitter. And you I think the thing that cubs fans always wondered, what kind of career as good a careers he had he was an all star. He was a batting champion, but how good would have been if he didn't have that bad ankle throughout his career told me, his last home run in the major was inside the Parker that out with your fabulous research, department, because I don't know how that's even possible to get could barely walk idea. He was like Kirk Gibson before there was Kirk Gibson look fleet. Yeah. Interviewed him several times, a great sense of humor, which rarely was shown off. And he had come to he, he developed a sense of peace about the ball through his legs in game six which by the way, did not cause Red Sox to lose World Series of shot game seven when they blew it. And but yet it just on for the rest of his career, but point being what you said professional hitter. Remember Bill Buckner for that? Well, and, and the fact that he was even able to somehow put a positive spin on it with the curb your enthusiasm and nobody saw coming. Yeah. My dad had a mustache, because my mom thought Bill Buckner. So good luck with that mustache. So my dad grew mustache. That's how to make sure that everything goes way his his the 'cause it death was this Lewy body dementia. Same thing that stance, damn Makita, and I believe that Jerry Sloan is also battling. So you're talking, I mean, it's just sort of eerie the way you talk about three men who distinguish themselves as players in Chicago in different sports, but have all run into the same affliction very sad. My best to the Buckner, family and everybody that ever get a chance to meet him. No or preciado them. And that's just about all of us next. Guy, local guy that got shot with a team or writing the movie right now tina's to cubs guys duty, what's the story? Jimmy Ducci is a pretty much career minor leaguers, has his cups of coffee with the majors and baseball doesn't mean you just come to get a Cup of coffee. Need your only into big long enough to have you get to choose a lot baby cafe Americano, but Jimmy duty, whose dad played in the major leaks, again, not a not a long career, but played, I think for the cardinals for a while and Milwaukee, but Jimmy Ducci, who is from evergreen park after they had the collusion in the outfield on Sunday between Jason Heyward, Kris Bryant, which share everybody's probably see by now they needed to make roster moves. They called Duccio from Iowa. He played yesterday against using went over four but this is kind of a dream come true his chance to play. For his hometown team staying up at least for few days. I don't know how long he's going to be up because I would think that, hey, what's in good over four? I mean even with for time city I don't think so. I have to go back and check the box score. But look for him it's just a chance to to get to the big leagues. And like he was saying this dream answered a dream, quote it can happen. And when you hear everything, I've gone through and ready for this moment, you get to have fun and really enjoy it and help the team win. Yeah. How about kind of says it all he's thirty four years old, too. So he's it's not like he's this young kid finally getting his chance, that's ninety in talk show. Yeah. And then it's national hamburger day. Congratulations. Enjoy a burger today. Medium rare. I'm gonna why? This was needed national hamburger, you need promotion for hamburgers. I mean, especially after Memorial Day when you're supposed to beating hamburger. Nobody could cook out because it was.

"All right. I'm going to call an audible because we got so many calls. All right want to weigh in. So let's go to those. And then we'll save the last question that Chris has Tyler in the west loop. Hey, tyler. Spark. We'll say I've got a question for you. In the cubs shuttered. The cubs. Don't win the World Series this year. Joe man will be fired by the new year. First of all if they if he are you saying he manages the whole season. Yeah. I'm saying if they do not make it there and they do not win. It will not be a manager and shattered no shot if they don't win the World Series. Joel madden. We'll be the manager. They wouldn't even call. It a firing. But I get where you're going contra would be up. So he would just agree to part ways. But if whether he'll manage the cubs or not if they don't make a deep playoff run not convinced to the NFL. To the World Series. If and they could get their Joe Girardi lost his gig in New York didn't come back and they got to the game lost his gay game. Seven. The. He was fired. That was the end of a contract. He was fired crowd. That was the end of the contract. Okay. And they agreed to part ways. So I think Tyler shot, absolutely. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Three one two three three two three seven seven six Connors. Evergreen park. Hey, connor. Hey, guys. I wanted to weigh in on this. I'm a millennial, and I definitely agree that, you know, he's millennials are definitely you know, looking at the game. Like, it's too slow. I will say as as a baseball fan because I I definitely like to sit down a couch and watch full game. But I do find myself during baseball season watching the replays. Watching the highlights saw. I definitely think like it is an issue for. And it's not really an issue. But like, I think millennials need to get over the fact that like license high-speed we need a slow down a little bit. So I definitely don't think baseball should change by any means. I think it's perfect the way it is. Thanks, man. Appreciate you listening. Thank you, Kip. Three one two three three two.

Right now from woodridge used to be from Cicero than from elmhurst. Okay. So you would have to be too. He used to be used to be from there. Now, he's from here. So you would have gotten you would have gotten the one fifty five east Roosevelt road without any hits. Easy easy. All right. Let me give you one. I'll give you one down. "Story changes right here on Chicago's very own seven twenty WGN. Thank you. Steve. Hi, everybody. It's Bill leff. It's Wendy Snyder. Welcome to the show. Hi, wendy. Good morning. Bill by state, the obvious. It will just take me a second. I just need to state the obvious. It's insanely foggy outside. I know really really really fought. Like, London, foggy. Jack, the ripper did something awful today at some point a word of warning to those of you listening. Thank God, you gave the warning. Ripper warning code blue ripper warning. I think it's just an advisory right now breath. It could be. Keep your eye on the tabs. You would happen hit some sort of advisory or warning almost every day. It seems like well, it's February seventh but this month. What have of course, the ice warning? A winter weather advisory extreme cold warning yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. In today's now, a dense fog warning, which replaces the winter weather advisories. What am I the weird dense fog? Thank you very much Wendy available for kids start Saturday. And I got that without even seeing it. Hey, we also really quickly. We get that warning on our building warning us that falling ice. Yeah. Decapitate us at any moment. I think the ice is already fallen in this. Yeah. This time it has. I don't know where they keep the signs. But I notice them I come in a different way than you. Do they make me come through the back exit? I don't know why I have to go through the end of the building to get into it. I don't know why. But there's a sign that says, you know, what Bill that you just seen the back of at the other side says ripper advice, right flip those. That's that's much better. That's just so I mean, I know they're putting a sign so you look out. But wouldn't it be worse? If you looked up and got ice in your I like, a big chunk of ice in your eyes. And do you go closer to the building? Are you safer there or do you go farther away? I don't go cooling umbrella, just go faster knowing umbrella. No, beeline, straighten straight for the entrance. Get in quick. It is kinda scary. And I know there have been some accidents where people have gotten killed by a chunk of. Yes, ice or snow, or what have you to go and is a pretty bad way. All right. Well on a cheery saffy. Did you have your crispy cream? Yeah. I did. They were very good. They have a special Valentine's Day edition, Krispy Kreme Donut out, and they sent us to make sure that they're crispy and creamy and delicious, and they are they're filled with strawberry jelly. They're really good. I've never had a crispy cream filled. I usually typically go with the glazed the new collection features four crispy cream classic fillings include cake, batter, chocolate, cream, filled, raspberry, and strawberry and cream, wait filled with cake better. I would imagine. That sounds pretty good one because these are the conversation donuts available now through February fourteenth at crispy cream, and there are three locations. Evergreen park homeward and hillside. They say BFF all the fields all the fields. Okay. That's crazy. And way, he goes. Upon eating one of these donuts. I have a sugar buzz. She's unstoppable. But they're really cute. 'cause you know, how those sweet heart candies are not available right now. Crispy cream has taken over in their conversation. Doughnut filling in the gap created by sweetheart. Yes, very smart. You're gonna miss those. No. Candy. They didn't taste like anything. But shock liked him. The way I don't they fit under the bracket, though of things that you don't necessarily want or need. But you just want them to be there. You just want the traditional corn? Perfect example last time you ate a peep pizza. The worst maybe ten years ago twelve years ago longer now for every holiday too little statues of liberty for the fourth of July. You are kidding me. Just about time to eat it. No, how even though they don't affect you directly. There's still something about you. Don't want him to go away. I don't care really like those sweet hearts ones. The last time you ate while. Honestly, a kid probably as a kid sweetheart. You mean, the candy hearts we're talking about that are not here. I do like those I like to take a as like, chalk pastel colors, and then they say things like to good to be forgotten with the letters on their mind. Yeah. That kind of stuff Ditto Ditto. Right. Got lazy at some point. Just put Ditto down. It's just don't don't waste your day thinking of something clever. It's a heart that no one eats. I mean, I guess you could decorate with them. But even the kids don't like well Valentine's Day when you're a kid you if you were bringing a Valentine's Day candy to school that was the default one. Came in the box the tax. Valentine, I always did that with my kids you could sign a place where you could sign your name. Perforated love those candies. I really did wouldn't go to my way. But I would there won't be any this year. They will be back next year. But I couldn't another company. I don't I don't know what the rule is. You could probably make something pretty close to that. I mean, I guess you could say crispy cream is doing exactly that with their donuts. But if you were in. I have nothing. They're cute. They all taste the same Chucky after-taste kinda and that's good. It's a texture thing. You get the crunch. That's what it is. The next six one else. You just get a crunch. There's nothing else. Hip on what I like. Okay. I just like them. Stuff from days ago from a long time ago. I was telling a friend about something that people used to have in a grocery store. Let's take a break. And then I'll explain this is something that people had a grocery store. I haven't seen him in thirty five or forty years, and my friend thought I was making it up, but I'm not making it up.
