"And welcome into episode one O 6. One O 6. Every time I say number, just boggles my mind. That is Connor Ryan. I'm Evan Marino ski Connor. What is up? Evan, I'm doing well. How are you doing? Doing great. Doing great. And we should tell people because this is important. This is pre recorded. This is not recorded on our usual Thursday. Connor is going on a big vacation, so we are recording this before Thursday. So if any big news breaks, I'll have reaction on bruins ringside YouTube channel. Don't worry. But this is recorded before. So we will not be touching anything that happens. So let's just say hypothetically, if bergeron and Craig should get resigned, it will not be covered in this episode. If anything, I think I'm doing you and bruins fans a favor by going on vacation because that's usually what happens. I believe it was last year I went to Las Vegas for a few days and up in the air. I happened to activate the Wi-Fi. And as soon as I did, you know, you got this string of notifications and it was all from the bruins and it was like, congrats on a great career, millsy. I was like shit. And then literally an hour later. And it was like, we have signed burning Kahlo to a 5 year contract extension. So two big things of news happened on one flight. So if you're looking for any news to break, you'll probably when I'm up in the air during this week. So you're welcome, everyone. And you're going, and you're going on a few flights because you had to do a few different places, correct? Yes, I'm going to New Orleans and Austin. I've decided you know what it's already a 100° up here in Boston. Might as well just keep it rolling. Let's keep it going here. Everything else. It's like a detox. It's like a sauna in and of itself. I don't have to go to a spa or anything like that. So it all works out. No reason. That's perfect. Yeah, just get it out, but this all on these flights, maybe bergeron will be re signed on the first flight. And then when you go to Austin, David, creature will be resigned. And then on the way home, I don't know, something else Rafael Devers will get traded. Like, yeah, it doesn't have to speed the bruins. This is true. It could be any Boston team. Maybe it's Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant. There we go. Exactly. So there's quite a bit that could happen.

"And welcome back into the bruins beat on seal on this media mine in is Evan Marino. He hope you guys are having a great day. A great week. On today's episode. On this week's episode, we discussed, we started with the Matthew chuck news, because even though the bruins are not directly involved in this, he is now in the Atlantic. He is now with the Florida Panthers. So we discussed that trade or the Panthers better, or they worse, what's it gonna be like defending Matthew kuchak for the bruins? All those things that we get into the lineup for the year. Or at least to begin the year because with the creature watch and the bergeron watch on full effect, I think some people are forgetting, which makes sense because we're people so focused on that. Forgetting that Marcia is going to be able to begin a year, mcavoy, and grizzly will also be out to begin the year. So what are the, what's the lineup going to look like? With those guys out. So we get into all that in today's episode. You will very much enjoy it. As you hopefully enjoy every episode of bruins beat, but without further ado, here's my conversation. With Conor Ryan. And we're here with Connor Ryan, Connor. What is up? Evan doing well. How are you doing? Doing great. Doing great. Hopefully we're at the end of this little heat wave that's hitting everywhere, maybe, hopefully. My friends and I actually did an Olympics this weekend. We did a round of golf. We did basketball. We did wiffle ball. We did soccers all outside in the hundred degree heat. So my whole body is still here. I'm still somehow here. My whole body just hurts. I have not athletically done those things in quite a long time. And especially in that heat, it was brutal. It was. Lots of water. We drank so much water and Gatorade. It was just, you know, we could have been sponsored by water and Gatorade. This past weekend. So fun times all around, but that was not the biggest news of the weekend, actually. This is crazy. My friends and I doing Olympics was not the biggest news of the weekend. Crazy to think. What was the biggest news of the weekend? Matthew kuchuk headed to Florida. And this was Friday night, right? Late Friday. Late late Friday night. It's one of those times when it's like poor Panthers and flames beat writers, you know, have fun guys. But very big news.

"Order to the bruins beat on sea on us media my name is Evan Marino, we hope you guys are having a great day, a great week. On this episode, Conor Ryan and I got into some pertinent topics in the world of contracts and salary caps. We got into the recent news on Johnny gaudreau. And how that impacts David Paulson arts earnings because I do think there is a little correlation there. We also get into Pavel zaka and if is he good enough to see if David grace doesn't return and also could he potentially help keep posture? All interesting questions? All interesting summer questions. We also get into if John Sweeney is actually going to clear any cap space because going off recent comments, I think that's kind of a clear answer. So that is today's episode of bruins beat. And without further ado, here is my conversation. With Connor Ryan. And

"Welcome to the bruins beat on CL and S media my name is Evan Marino. I hope you guys are having a great day. A great week. And it is a very, very, very busy week at bat. There's a lot going on in the world of the bruins. You got development camp. You had the gym Montgomery introductory press conference. You had the Jacobs speaking, cam Neely and Don Sweeney speaking. And then Wednesday got free agency, which is the majority of this episode, a preview for the bruins of free agency. What will they do? What can they do? This is not like last year when they had tons of cap space. It was like 20 million in cap space last year. This year it is down to 2.3 million in current cap space. So Connor and I got into what that all means. What they will end up doing. And that was the majority today's show and what the big, you know, some big fish, I guess, that they could go after some under the radar fish. They could also go after. So very fun episode, very interesting episode. It's always fun when there's a lot to talk about in the summer, because as you guys all know, when the dog days of August hits, it's like, ah, season's coming up. Yeah, she's gonna be real fun. Anyways, without further ado, here's my conversation. With Connor Ryan.

"And welcome into episode one O one of the poke the bay of podcast. I'm your host, Connor Ryan, writing solo this week, our esteemed host Evan Marino ski, good friend is soaking up the sun in Cape Cod this week. He's out and about might still be stuck on traffic. And over at the sagamore bridge, who knows maybe catching some rays, going to Sunday school, getting an ice cream. Who knows what he's doing? But regardless, not on the podcast this week, unfortunately, you just stuck with me. But all of them considered if it's a solo show, it actually works out pretty well because what do you know? There's still not a whole lot of tangible news to talk about with the bruins these days. For as much as it came nearly talked about the fact that Don Sweeney was going to have a contract extension all wrapped up. It's been 5 weeks and we have not had a press release yet. Don't really know what's going on with Don Sweeney. The draft is in about two weeks. I still have no clarity on who's exactly steering the ship. I assume it is dawn Sweeney, but you'd probably like to have it in writing somewhere as to who's actually making these personal decisions. So nothing to report there. Bruins search for their next head coach is still ongoing. They are taking their time in terms of interviewing candidates and trying to determine who's kind of the best fit for this team moving forward, that it's kind of at a crossroads, right? We don't really know who exactly what path they're going to take, whether it's running it back, whether it's rebuilding, retooling, if treasury is going to be back. A whole lot of stuff still up in the air. It feels like there's still one or two dominoes that need to fall for this team before the off season really starts to ramp up. And we haven't really had that yet, right? We don't have any indication quite yet as to whether or not Patrice bergeron is going to come back, which I think is going to set in motion which path the ruins end up taking. And so yeah, no clarity, I don't know, coach. You're starting to see other coaches get plucked up around the league. Obviously, palmar east goes to Florida, which is an interesting situation last week, John totoro goes to Philly, which will be the content will be fantastic for that. That's all I'll say to that. For what he'll do for that team. But for the bruins, yeah, nothing really to report on. In terms of who they're identifying, we heard reports last week that Jay leitch was a favorite David quin was a favorite. We discussed the coin situation a little bit on bruins beat earlier this week and not really buying into it for David quin in terms of how exactly he fits with this team. It's one of those ones where sure you kind of look at his reputation and he's known as a guy that gives younger plays a little bit more of a rope is a little bit more of a positive voice in the room. There's not just say that Bruce Cassidy was doom and gloom, but it was very blunt and candid in terms of what he wants and what he expects out of this team..

"To the bruins beat on sea on this media my name is Evan Marino ski. Hope you guys are having a great day, a great week. And today's episode. Connor and I tackled some bigger evergreen Y kind of topics topics that, you know, never really go out of style in a sense. We covered whether or not the bruins will trade into the first round in the 2022 draft, which is coming up very soon. We get into a latest survey from the athletic. You know, I'm not really surprised that you guys aren't too happy with the bruins right now. And then we get into what the bruins can learn from the lightning and the avalanche because I think there's a lot there. Past even surface level stuff, I think there's a ton of stuff there that the bruins can learn from. And try to duplicate it if they would like to have some success. As always, brewed speed is brought to you by our good friends over at bet online and without further ado, here's my conversation. With Connor Ryan. And.

"To the bruins beat on CL and S media my name is Evan Marino. I hope you guys are having a great day. The great week enjoying June, the Celtics and the NBA Finals, all that fun stuff, but there are real big bruins topics to cover. And in this episode, we covered both of these things. And it really comes down to two big questions to Connor and I tackled. Who should be the next head coach? That's a pretty big question. Don't you think? Who the next head coach should be? Fairly big. And then from that, what should they do this off season? What is the direction? We talked a lot about this last week. They don't have a direction. Well, what should the direction should be? What should the direction be? So Connor and I discussed that a lot in this episode. And remember, Brunei is always sponsored by our good friends over at bet online and without further ado, here's my conversation. With Connor Ryan. And.

If you went to the beach, it was beautiful out, maybe you maybe were working. I was working on Memorial Day weekend, so no shame in that. But anyways, on this episode of bruins beat, Connor and I are reunited after Conor did his solo poke the bear episode last week, but we were reunited. And we handed out grades. End of season grades, everyone always loves this. How did everybody do this year? And we ran through each guy, gave them a grade, explained why. We do this at the end of every single season, at least we have since I've been hosting this show. So yeah, always fun to do. Connor was on, Conor was great, as he always is. So most of my most of my holiday weekend was. But I am here. According to pod, I'm happy to be here. How you doing? I'm doing better. I feel bad saying that, but it is true. I just landed from Atlanta, so I'm right off the flight. That's for recording this like late at night as you can tell. It is dark behind me, but had a fun time in Atlanta, got to see the NHL on TNT studios and worked there and go to a braves game and do kind of all the Atlanta things. I will disappoint you, Connor, though. There's one thing I didn't have the chance to do. There's one thing. One thing I asked you to do, Evan. I didn't get to go to waffle House. You killing me. I didn't get to go. And I'll tell you why I worked all I worked every day, like, day, 8 to four, and then at night would all go do things..

I agree, we hopefully you've kind of recovered from the brewing 7 game loss to the hurricanes. Not the most fun of times, and it is now the off season. As unfortunate, but before we dive into the off season, I do want to say and give a sincere thank you to all of you listeners, your support literally makes this happen. Listening every week interacting with me on Twitter or comments, it's amazing. I love doing it. And I seriously appreciate all the support you guys have given me. Over the past bunch of years, it has been so much fun bringing this to you every week. I really enjoy doing this, same with poke the bear that we do on either Wednesdays or Thursdays. So much fun. And again, just a sincere thank you to all the great listeners to all of you guys. Out there. But as you know, as you listeners know, the content doesn't stop. Continues. There's a lot of off season stuff to discuss. And Conor and I sort of hit on this early now. We don't dive super deep into every topic some we do just because again, I think we're going to dive a lot deeper in the coming weeks as things become more clear. We kind of just give our first impressions of what needs to happen. And as the title of this podcast says, where do the bruins go from here? Like, what is next? And so I think it's a dilemma. And it feels like I say this every off season, but this off season is ridiculously interesting because even the past couple it was like they're still competing, they're still competing. Now you need to, they can still compete, but there need to be bigger changes done. And we get into that in this episode. "On seal on this medium my name is Evan Marino ski hope you guys are having a great day, a great week. I know you had a great weekend because the prunes had a great weekend. And you probably very much enjoyed watching games three and four. What a turnaround. What a freaking turnaround. I know a lot of you believed. I know some of you were kind of like me and were a little skeptical of the whole of them coming back, but the series is tied. Two to two. This is coming out Tuesday morning, so game 5 is Tuesday night, so this will come out obviously before then. But very interesting little comeback, they got going on here. And so Conor and I got into why that happened. How they could continue it. We get into Charlie mcavoy and hampus lindholm coming back, potentially, and the ramifications of that. I think mcavoy obviously you know, when he might come back and obviously you know what he's going to bring, lindon's a little more controversial in a sense. You know if he comes back, he's going to be good, but what's his injury? Do you really want to push it? So that's a conversation that we had. We also get into, are we updating our series predictions? I will say one of us did. One of us gave a little update to the prediction. I think you'll be surprised. By it, especially given that person's confidence in giving that prediction. Definitely wasn't me, obviously it wasn't me. Of course not. Anyways, remember, bruins beat is always sponsored by good friends over at bed online. Use that promo code CL and S 50. One other thing, it would be awesome if you guys could go leave a nice review for this podcast on wherever you get your podcast, whether it be Apple, Spotify. Be awesome to leave a rating and review. "And welcome into poke the bear episode 91. The Mark savard episode. What could have been? The marks of our episode. It's still like really annoying that his career came to such an end so quickly. Because if you imagine what he could have ended up doing, I mean, what he did in just a short time with the bruins, but what he would have done over 5 6 more years would have been incredible. And you wonder what that means for krejci or bergeron or rich or Chris Kelly, but I mean it meant for those guys going forward, but anyways, I'm Evan Marino ski. That is Connor Ryan, Connor. What is up? Evan, doing well. How you doing? Doing great. Doing great. As we record this as the Red Sox are getting killed by the tigers. Not great, not the greatest of times for your boss and Red Sox. But fortunately, we're not a Red Sox podcast. So you can go somewhere else for that. This is bruins. And we will start with kind of the latest on the injury front because now you've got three bruins who you're kind of worried about in the sense of hampus lentil macros like and David past are not Bruce Cassidy spoke after practice on Tuesday and didn't really give any new updates on them. Said, I thought both would be a little farther along by this time. So they didn't play Tuesday night, obviously. Doesn't feel like they'll play Thursday either. Does feel like Matt grizzly could play Thursday. What is the latest on those guys? Yeah, as you said, I think grizzly seems to be the one who's closest to a return. It seems like it's something that he's been dealing with most of the year in terms of its more just managing and Cassidy mentioned that grizzly email he's taken his fair share of hits. It's something that he's battled through before and it tends to bounce back pretty quickly that looks bad and then kind of gets back out there. So they're not overly concerned with him. Obviously I think if you go into a playoff series, you have to be worried about just how much he's going to hold up there, but I think you saw in that game against the capitals on scientists how valuable he is. So hopefully he's back sooner rather than later. And then for us we're not going to, yeah, not. Not exactly that great, right? Can you imagine? I mean, both those guys were skating. They stayed on the road trip. So you imagine, all right, a few days off for them, get them back. Hopefully at some point in the next starting this home stand. I believe Steve Conroy, the Herald said that both pastrnak and Wendell were out there earlier today on Tuesday before a morning skate. So that's encouraging. But it seems almost like they've mapped out their recovery. And it's like, all right, they're getting here. And they've kind of just plateaued a little bit before they get the green light to get back out there, which as you said, Bruce castle a little bit further along or it's taken a little bit longer than they expected. Also out of that, just a long term issue. So if you're the bruins, obviously I think you'd probably like a little bit more clarity or of course have them back out there, especially you look at just some of these matchups coming down the stretch here, whether it's the blues, you got the penguins coming to town..

And in this episode, Connor and I got into talking about the biggest storyline facing this team right now, which is the goaltending. The goaltending lead is all Mark or Jeremy swayman. Huge question. Batman versus Superman. Who do you take and why? And we still got some time until the playoffs, but it feels like the waves are starting to shift towards Lena soul mark at his direction. We also get into some other injury stuff avoiding injuries as well..

"Episode 89. Connor 89. There's no 89s in bruins history unless I'm missing someone. I think it's. How they say his name. Do you use like he played like what was it O 5? I think it was a Mike Sullivan's last year. I must have been. I feel like it was one of those other guys that just jumped in late. So I know for sure, there's not like there's many other 89s hanging around her. So I believe it's him. There we go. That's the 89. It's the dynamic of the episode. I'm Evan Marino ski. That is Conor Ryan Connor. How you doing? Evan, doing well. How are you doing? Doing great. Doing great. And if bruins fans were unaware or forgot how obnoxious Maple Leafs Twitter could be. They were reminded of it. Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. I think that was quite clear. With everything that went on in Tuesday night's game, which we will spend most of this episode, not dissecting, but kind of picking things apart, should you be worried about this? Should it be worried about that? Obviously, the bruins lose 6 to four wasn't really a 6 four game. It was 6 one at one point. Again, they won the third period, but didn't come close to one in the game. So there are people everyone's kind of on a different area with this. Some people are overreacting. Or some people are reacting saying that, oh my God, this is really bad. Shows where the bruins are in the Atlantic. They're not as high as we thought. And there's others who say it's no big deal. You know, it's one game and regular season again, 7 game series, you know, anything can happen as a team that can get worn down easily. Where do you fall on that pendulum? I mean, I'd like to, I think, probably fall more in the line of focusing on maybe the bigger picture and the longer sample size. And again, granted. That game had all the makings of a very good statement game. You had the Maple Leafs coming to Boston and they were playing their third game in four nights..

And this is coming out on a Tuesday. And you know what's happening? Tonight? The bruins and the Maple Leafs. The maple leaves are common in town. How do you not be excited about that? It feels like it's been forever. Kind of has been. Need the Maple Leafs back in town to spice things up a bit. Because things are too good around here. Many TV even better. But in this episode, Connor and I discussed kind of everything that's going on right now is pretty good with the bruins. Like, things are pretty good. And we got to get into why they're good. And how it came to this and kind of where they came from. And we also looked ahead to where their playoff positioning is right now, which might scare some of you. And I wouldn't blame you. It scares me. History scares you a bit where they're ranked right now, or at least where they're slotted if the playoffs began today. So that was today's episode. "And I'll come into the bruins beat on CLS media. My name is Evan Marino ski and today this is not a normal bruins beat. This is no guests. We record as you guys know on Mondays. And Monday because of president's day and the bruins being at 1 p.m.. Made for very tough scheduling. I also have NCAA work to do tonight. So there was no real guest who would be able to slot in with the times I was able to do. So I'm actually recording this between intermissions or between periods between the first and second period. Of the avalanche and bruins up one, nothing. But that doesn't matter. Because I was actually kind of happy when this idea came to me. I was like, hey, I haven't done a Q&A with everybody in a while. So nice to be able to do a Q&A. And questions you asked. There were lots of questions. I put it up on Twitter. I put it up on YouTube community, which I was like, oh, you know, I want to make sure I get enough questions. I got way more questions than I ever thought I would. So I appreciate the passion and the questions. And I got to everybody's question, even if stay overlapped, it will get answered. So I hope you guys are having a great week. So yes, I love doing these questions. And they all kind of center around the trade deadline. Go figure, right? Go figure. Right around the trade deadline, but some of these are future things. Future questions. Some are these are current ones. Some of them are lineup questions. They're all pretty interesting. I actually like these questions a lot. There were no like, this again, no RAS questions, obviously, is retired, but so lots of good stuff. We'll dive right in. We will dive straight in. And again, I have it on my notebook. So for people watching on YouTube, I'm holding up. I have a notebook with all the questions. I have it all written down. I'm a big handwritten note guy. I don't know. Typing on the computer to me doesn't do the same. So having it in a notebook, it makes it feel more kind of organized..

"This. This February 15th and this is the bruins beat on CLS media. Welcome to the bruins beat on CLS media, my name is Evan Marino. He hope you guys have any great day, a great week. Hopefully had a great Super Bowl weekend, did something cool for it? Maybe we're there. Or as people Blackburn said on Twitter who wouldn't want to just sit on the couch and stuff their face. What's the fun and being there when you can just sit at home on the couch with a big bag of chips and some beer or maybe you're having soda or whatever it is and just eating away, drinking away. Personally, I just chilled. Just chilled, ordered our chicken sandwich from a local restaurant. It was delicious. Watch the game, even get you hungry right now. But it was a good game, Connor and I got into it to start. Just a little bit. But in this episode, we talked for a while about these Mark Andre flurry rumors at the Bruce might be a dark horse than him and we kind of discussed the pros and cons to someone like flirt. We also got into life without bergeron and Martian as the burns are going through right now. And what it kind of exposes in this bruins lineup. And we also got into the potential of this Frederick Coyle Smith line working. What happens if that's a good line? Does that become the third line? Who slots in up top? So a lot of interesting moving parts with that. We also get into Jack studnica. And what his value is saying with Jacob bruss, what their value is in trades and where they might fit in the lineup. Going forward. So fun episode, as always, remember to go support our friends over at bed online with our promo code CLS 50. Without further ado, here's my conversation. With Conor Ryan. And we're here with Conor Ryan. Connor, what is up? Evan, doing well. How are you doing? Doing great. Doing great. This is too straight weeks of you back on bruins beat. It's like we're getting back in the rhythm of you coming out. Slowly getting you back in the loop on this. But how was your weekend? It was swell. Watch Super Bowl went with, I thought, I hope the Bengals were gonna win, but alas. It was more realistic. I was like, you know what Aaron Donald is going to absolutely obliterate Cincinnati's offensive line? Sure enough it happened. Adds terrible, as always, which like, I feel like it's very much an old old man grape to be like the Super Bowl ads are bad. It's like realistic now. Everyone's got like Twitter and YouTube. People are getting more creative. You don't have to wait for the big game for you to drop like a good ad anymore. So I got 9 understand that comes with a territory, but it was good. No complaints as of when the time this podcast drops. Hopefully be you will be being part champions. We will scrub this audio from the podcast. So fingers crossed there. But how are you doing? How was your weekend Evan? It was great. I actually had to do a bean pot preview video for the championship for the NCAA, and I predicted be you to win. Hurt me to do it. Hurt me to do it, but I did. I had to make a business decision and I did it. It was a good weekend. Fun times, Super Bowl was great. You're right, the ads were terrible. The only ad that I actually remember was the crypto dot com ad with the barcode that went on the screen..
