"He would come on during the season while we've got stuff going on giants third baseman having a good year. Evan longoria. evan has it going do Thanks for having me on i had. I've been dying to talk to a player about the unwritten rules fiasco. That's been going on and obviously couple of weeks ago. It all went crazy with the white sox and your great guy to have on about this. You're veteran been around the game for awhile and respected before we get. You're having you're having a nice little season here at thirty five years old in baseball. That's like you know. I haven't reached nine home. Runs twenty nine. Rb is pretty good. Yeah man i You know. I think a lot of the credit Well at least some of the credit. I'll take some of the some of the credit goes to Are hitting coaches. Know the change in philosophy that we've had You know some of the the conversations that I've had with them in terms of you know i. I think my exit. My average extra loss was pretty good last year. It's just. I wasn't hitting the ball in the air. And so you know it's it's like easy to talk about Bad but you know. Some of the swing changes that. I made in the offseason coming into this season..

"I think if they win it and have had only nine games. you know. There are other examples historically. And i have this written notes. I don't have in front of me. There are other examples historically of teams that have won championships with minimum. Okay regular season games. And you know shaq kobe. Derek fisher different circumstance. I get it not thrown together at cetera et cetera but nonetheless limited regular season. So you know listen. I don't think there's a professional sports league in the country that doesn't have concerns about viewership than long term viability. Where do we go next. And so you know. I is one that does watch so much. Nba basketball. They don't have to worry about me. I don't think the nfl has one worry now. Have not one worry the nfl basically you know that's true. That's very true. Gotta bring struck from the network. And i feel it hasn't been talked enough talked about enough or maybe i'm just not paying attention and has been but you know this. They had they didn't really have an off-season from the bubble to starting the season because everything was obviously thrown out of whack because of covid Do you think that's having an effect on the lakers. Now on brana they. They obviously won the finals of add to go deep very quick off season. Any lingering effect you thinking. I think it's not a factor i mean. Look at the i. People considered to have top five skills on both ends of the floor. That's anthony davis. Unlisted his injury history you know is what it is And maybe it's because he's a big man at the size and skill level years But you know the source in the achilles they the now growing issue Listen i don't know. And i think the league has some information regarding you know we. We haven't had more soft muscle injuries this year. Relative to last or it is it's negligible or whatever the case may be. Here's what i know unequivocally that when we sat down with coaches and players be obviously all year. Long what i would tell you is and we discussed this. As announced jeans. You could feel the weight of the way. These players coaches had to do this season. It was hard it was hard and it was physically hard and will that play a part ultimately who wins the championship. who knows. i don't know that that's quantifiable. But i would say that the people going through it and you can feel the weight of that now. They are the ones who made the decision right. There were financial implications and they bus chose to do it this way but certainly certainly you can feel what the season felt like from them you can you can hear and read it in their comments going to search before we wrap up but you mentioned social media earlier do you. Do you actually check it. Because i always. I'm always surprised when anyone who's played by player. Colored checks their social media. Because we're all. I can't speak for everybody on twitter I try not to necessarily look. I have seen some really hysterical things some mean-spirited things over the years. I as i've said a million times. I'm social media wasn't around when i was younger announcer 'cause i couldn't take it You know somebody recently said Something like some. Sometimes doris look seventy and sometimes she looks forty. I thought is that person related to make. That's exactly how i feel. Show do i check it out. I'm aware of it. i'm not like scrolling through reading every single thing for sure is good..

"The i had ryan russillo on the podcast couple weeks. He's a big mba guy. And i said to him and ask you because i love your take on this the nets when the nba title. What's what's the joy what's the pleasure. What's the excitement. I mean it was three players thrown together superstar. And i'm not against super teams but this one felt a little different to me. I don't know why. I can't really sort of explain it but this one here like you know when you see a team in any sport when a title. You're happy for this guy. You're happy for that guy maybe there's a storyline that maybe please out. This year was like okay. We're going to get these three guys. We're gonna there's no connection to brooklyn there's no connection to the fans. Career ready has won a title. Durant has won a title so in a month from now two months from now when it's all over if the nets are standing there is the champions as an nba. Fan what is sort of like what are you. Get out of that her. So i'm not going to presume that right. It could standing in front of them as milwaukee team that changed both its personnel and its style and has some strengths where the nets have weakness. And so i'm not presuming anything. If they go in win this championship they will have earned it. Winning an nba championship is really really hard. And it's funny because you know over the years. I've listened to jeff. I think one who said this but perhaps mark let you know. They've talked about. Sometimes it requires some measure of luck. You've got to avoid injuries at the appropriate times. I'm sometimes maybe somebody else from the other team gets injured for a game that changes. There's so much that will go into this so i. If you're stupid point by me you could say. I don't think it's a super. I just think they will have earned it. And i think well at a bit on challenge in front of them with the milwaukee bucks like this is idea. Fire jrue holiday right now. Here's my here's my follow up for that though. Let's say again hypothetical the nets win it. Did they just prove then that the regular season is completely useless and meaningless. And i mean it by the way kyrie durant and harden played nine games together in the regular season nine and then they go they just totally bamboozled the celtics now they you know that if they win it all which they very well could and should based on the talent. It's baiser saying take the regular season off if you have to listen jimmy. I think you've seen enough signs from the nba. The pay they are monitoring how their fans are watching nba basketball and and one of the things i admire most about the nba is how proactive. They are as any professional sports leagues should be. They are in a constant mood of self evaluation. What is working for us. And what is not. So years ago they tweaked the rules to elevate scorning and you might have those hardcore fans who say you know. That's ridiculous isn't basketball. And maybe if kerr said this is awhile back. Maybe six months maybe even last year but he said you know maybe we have tilted the the rules too much on the offensive end. And so you know. I don't think anything is static. I don't think the play in tournament in. Its current format static. I betcha there are some concerns about you. Know what are the ratings to quarters one two and three of an nba game juxtapose that next ratings regular season versus post.

Back in even though it's gone completely off the rails the last couple of games. It's still much much much more different this year than in the past twenty years. So that's good. Oh my gosh. "Just gonna say that that you know it's bad call or know that that's a i. My personal bill to i think is just telling them like that. It's outside burry are low. Like when i know for sure i'll just tell them like right out like that fall is outside not even close And then go back to doug on. Hold them right. You know you feel like you're you're right when you're on your That right now. Obviously you're going to be a little biased here because you're hitter. But now we've got this whole thing with the pitcher scuffing the ball and using illegal substances foreign substances ever. You wanna call it. Do you think it's being done more now than ever. Do you think people just talking about it and it's always been done sort of the same amount i think. I think it's being done the same amount but i think what the big issue is is. The substances that are being used are better. Write this down right. Yeah this is what i'm curious about. Break this down for me. And i think and listen. I'm not a pitcher. Like you said. I have dougie exactly what's being used but i mean i can tell you that like if you look at the numbers like the spin rates are higher than they've ever been by unknown guys making jumps from you know. I think it's probably physically possible to like you know. Make a hundred or two hundred. Rpm jump you know based on like maybe mechanics or like you know figure out how to hold the ball differently or good pitching coach or whatever but like some of the jumps that we're seeing and spin rate Are like through the roof. You know guys just and you know. The i think the the scientific analysis of it or like the You know the the reason why becomes incrementally more difficult to hey guys when they spin the ball is because everything like a fast array when it's spinning the same it every pitch look the same so like if you can throw a basketball at at you know twenty eight hundred rpm and a breaking ball eight hundred.

eight hundred twenty eight hundred rpm two hundred every pitch a hundred

"I'm sure there's concern at the executive level but to me the idea. That announcer cares. Like like jimmy idea. I i don't i. I don't want to imply that. I think you care who wins. I think as a company. You want the lakers. Lebron there for ratings storylines and excitement. That's me like ratings. Point has never crossed. My mind went on the air. And here's act like lebron jimmy. Lebron is leaving at some point. I know he and tom brady and you too high. What's the balance of a normal eight which retirement sets in but the fact of the matter is he's going to leave at some point and we need you know. The league needs other stars to start gaining some traction. So whenever that happens it happens and we're not control of it shows. You know listen. The guy's been absolutely brilliant. You know still as a conversation piece. Look what happened last night. When he walked out of the building early people went absolutely ballistic. It's a you know it's it's everywhere it's on tv. It's on on social media. But at some point he will retire. The a lot of fun when that happens i to say it's been a fun ride with him fun ride. I appreciate it end Enjoy the rest of the playoffs. And thanks for on. You gotta jimmy. Thanks take care. How are you going to make up for lost time this year reading nine with family seeing old friends. How about doing over your birthday last year. "That's not something you'd wanna like. When you're game is over you go back to the hotel and you wanna unwind. That's not what you should watch. You know that you got to pay attention to every little split-second of that so it's a little more difficult. Do you have a favorite arena to be in for a game. Well i mean you know. And i think. Tnt made this point last night. Just just how good madison square garden. I've said for years people probably disagree. Member. i'm shaded because of where. I grew up new york niches. I just think when the knicks are good It makes a difference in the nba. In i could be crazy on but that place is really really special. Golden state i in that run in and it was loud. It was so so so loud. Wash angeles lakers are a lot of fun. You know you can feel the energy especially when they're good stars around that's the funk lace Do you ever do you ever. I mean obviously this will have to be pre covid. But do you have any stories about your at staples. Doing a lakers game and one of the celebs is trying to talk to you or me. You know you have a thing with about someone you know jack say like hey dr is. How's it going. No i've always wanted to say to jack. He and i share the same high school. Jack went to madison high school in the jersey shore. And i've never had that opportunity to To say it because you know. It's funny when los angeles last titles You know i was relatively new to the sideline -sition. So i i didn't have time nor did i have the confidence to be going up to the jets at that moment but yeah always stay bringing. We're both men swan warriors here. That would lead to a good conversation. He last thing. I'm just curious about doing sideline give me when you did sidelines. And now doing the color for the game. What is the most difficult thing about each. The sideline is probably An- it's funny. I hold the first time. I did sideline so while ago. I didn't. I didn't have any experience my call to people i called altro i called. Michelle mccoy Both were extremely helpful. And i'll never forget without trout He said dr. So they're going to be nights. Where you get off the air as sideline reporter near going to feel really good about what you did that you helped. Elevate the experience for the viewer. And you're gonna feel like you participated and it was great because there's going to be far more nights where you get off the air and you think to myself. Oh my god. They paid me to do that. You prepare the same way as the the analyst in the play by play but the fact of the matter is gain dictates whether or not you get into the show. Or sometimes it may be the producer philosophic we believe the role. Maybe who knows. There's a million things that may contribute to. What's your impetus the sideline reporter. So you have to be prepared to leave a lot of stories in your pocket. The analyst role on.

"Thing is amazing and Evan Longoria number fifteen so much so that we were feeling a little loose in the morning and I said yeah you know what we we rag on him a lot there's no question but he's hidden it's a nice little ditty like that one I like that like the kings a lot so let's get into some of the cell as I suggested to catch you guys up again the Johnson a sixty one and sixty one if you're looking at the wild card which we all are they now caught Arizona so tied with Arizona and they're looking up at and you know cope somebody just to keep an eye on on my job panic in my meds he started last night one for five scored a couple runs one for five with a walk scored two runs and they actually almost blew a big lead they gave up three homers in the night but they beat the Braves they got back on the winning track last night so they stayed at fifty nine law a pardon me fifty eight losses you have the Philadelphia Phillies at fifty eight losses we got to get into we got to get into what happened in Philly last I will do that seven fifteen okay we'll do that so the what the meta fifty again I'm gonna loss column guys Milosz calling giants of sixty one losses meta fifty nine Philly as fifty eight Milwaukee is fifty eight and then the team you're chasing is the cubs with fifty seven tough loss comes last night it it they blew a five one lead the night getting her fill in their college which will get into it at seven fifteen just give it comes next week so these are all incredibly meaningful games and the giants need you know flat out that he's got to win three out of four Arizona two out of three in Chicago you know two out of three in Oakland you got to do that so therefore back in the loss column so they're very much alive in yeah of course there's three teams ahead of them to get to Chicago and they're tied with another team but hell there in the damn thing so let's enjoy what we can do it right so far as IT came on with that Tolbert Krueger and broke so refused to quality K. B. because be take E. biti case here is we're talking about my sister was telling me that he was I can't call it that she has the BT case serial killer I said you should take that in and it reminded me she didn't know the text line she's a she's a P. one Katie Murphy and she if she didn't know the tech size res we should probably kick it out a little bit more because there's like a cadre of textures they'll know it they send in quality content this will be a bunch of people out there who don't know it's four one five eight oh eight five six two seven so just put it in your phone four one five eight oh eight five six two seven in text us it we came here yeah four one five eight oh eight five six two seven should us your your comic riffs and will reach on the air sure sure decent textile see other Farhan Zaidi coming on in this is the theme now with their grocery his last night and the possibility of Logan web on Saturday young arms you know we're excited about these guys you know guys like Tyler BDN Kahneman as and we know that once they get to some of these early bombs you know they can really help us but obviously we're going to kind of continue to show confidence at home and we're gonna need them if we can kind of work our way back into this right do you guys have any confidence in Tyler beer Kahneman as right now I do not know I do not at all I watchmen as not not ready for primetime Sunday night out at all well I think that's where we start here more comments about maybe Johnny Cueto being back sooner than later we'll get into right here actually is the next Kate you played right into that cope said said now you're gone from B. plus a minus two a solid a minus content here I DO Cueto pissed again last night and look good I saw the same video you were talking about the show me on the mound sharing a look good I'm gonna tell you just see in him I was getting a little excited so far on what's up he has been really encouraging as early rehab start we've sort of hoped for and targeted at a September return and I would still imagine that the way we have to schedule it out that'll make the most sense but you know obviously we're really excited about how he's doing it'll be great to see him again tonight at you know one step one step closer to getting back to the big one step closer and you to one saying it and here's what poly maxing.

"This is Evan Longoria of the San Francisco Giants now back to the giants pregame show with Marty Laurie on KNBR six eight there we go nice to have you back with us as we get ready for baseball today Madison Bumgarner on the hill for the giants and it'll be sacked Davies a right hander for the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday nights at the tasting room up at the priest ranch wine tasting room up in neon full of course so we love going up there always great fun what the their first salsa dancing lessons the winning combination of live music and food trucks and of course a tasting of amazing a State Farm ones one common quality and character so while you're at priest ranch at the tasting room up there and RAF we love it up there we have so much fun you can sign up for the harvest hand series of Saturday cooking classes at their sister winery summers then estate in hell link same Elena the classes are starting now and run through September restraints wine tasting room is at sixty four ninety Washington Street and young will full listing of advance at pre stretch go to their website priest ranch wines dot com absolutely absolutely check it out well just to get a look at the standings a little bit because I've talked about this in just to bring everybody up to date and as I say it's a long baseball season you know those were the words I use it's a mistake it's you know the journey it's the cattle drive and all that so but we're in it and things happen during a baseball season the way you get to the end of the game now is different but the end of the game is still what draws you to baseball in the great stories of baseball the giants now forty two and forty eight they've won eight out of ten and there's some other notes give me a minute but there are a two and a half games behind the Padres now the Padres see the Braves tonight will be able to run and Joey look Casey there they are three games behind the Rockies Iraqis are at five hundred so before you can do anything you have to get to five hundred and that's the key for the giants is somehow to get to that five hundred mark and then from there you see where you can go for the rocky say Kyle Friedland is back and he goes against Hannah Rourke for Cincinnati no tener Rourke as pitch very well this time a year in his career he does not give up a lot of home runs in last night Colorado came back with two home runs in the eighth to beat Cincinnati off David Hernandez three to two David Dahl hit one and Murphy at the other one so Rockies would cow frequent who's just been a disaster sent to the minors this year he comes back today to pitch for the Rockies and they need him in the second half so he goes against Hannah Roark the Reds of lost three straight a's plays starts today and they lost of course last night the Diamondbacks in cardinals today is Meryl Kelly going for the the Diamondbacks today and the diamond backs the beat the cardinals last night Robbie ray beat him lefties can handle the cardinals Robbie ray got it done last night against the cardinals Kelly right hander who we saw pitcher for the diamond backs against the giants he's a six inning pitcher we'll see what happens there cardinals and not hitting the ball right now and they have lost three straight as well and the coda Hudson who we saw last time the cardinals were in good pitcher one five innings and then he was gone but as a good Shanker self diamond backs of four headed the giants Rockies three ahead Padres two and a half and that's the first thing you got to do is get to five hundred the giants are six games under right now the cubs in the first inning is by so the scoreboard correctly seven in the first against Pittsburgh Jordan Lyles today for the Pittsburgh Pirates member last week Joe Maddon went crazy about the pirates pitching up in in and arguing about that in the the way the pirates pitch and all that well he was complaining mainly about Jordan Lyles well the cubs took care of him today I think I saw seven in the first for the cubs today that one was somewhat predictable I had that feeling that the cubs were going to do something today other brewers are game half out after their loss last night the cubs did beat Pittsburgh yesterday forty three Kimbrell got the save a cardinals are three out pirates three and a half and the Reds are five and a half back so that is a little look at the story but let's talk about the giants a little bit their winning ways here beginning June first the giants enough twenty and fourteen and that records the fourth best in the National League and that is behind Washington Atlanta and Los Angeles in those three teams are playing at six hundred or better ball couple played seven hundred ball the giants are five eighty eight and as I say just look at it for June July August and September that's four months of a baseball season that's a lot of baseball the things can happen and the giants actually making it happen right now they had five home runs last night the most the game since twenty fourteen of April exit Colorado so this one actually was at a better ball park the giants of now homered in each of the last thirteen games going back to June twenty fifth it's the longest streak since two thousand to fourteen straight games for the home run so they could tie that tonight against the Bruins which brings me to our original Joe's question for today our dinners coming up Wednesday night if RAF has contacted you make sure your confirm with Ralf of you coming to the dinner next Wednesday night July seventeenth but our question to get in the pool for our August dinner is a score the game today and will be optimistic since they've had homers in thirteen straight games who for the giants will hit their first home run today of the game first came home run today so will it be Crawford panic Posey who knows Polari I'm garner who knows but first Homer for the giants today and the score of today's game you could call Raffi to a cambiar or you can tweeted into me at baseball Marty an amazing night in Anaheim last night honoring the memory of Tyler Skaggs whether you hear what happened last night down in Anaheim Jose moda play "Scoreboard already done today. The rivalry cubs. And cardinals the cubs win. This one Kyle Hendricks goes and shutout. The cardinals for zip later on twins at Yankees raise at Orioles. The nationals in Phillies in Phillies, of course, Bryce Harper against his former team roles in Detroit to take on the Tigers Mariners go east to take on the Indians in Cleveland. The Braves are in Florida take on the Marlins. The Blue Jays in Texas to take on the Rangers range the Red Sox and White Sox from Chicago Mets and brewers in Milwaukee. And a couple of games in the NFL west Diamondbacks and Rockies in Colorado and the dodgers and the Padres. So that's what the school board looks like tonight. And again Tyler Beatty will make two thousand nineteen debut after fine one point nine nine era in Sacramento as far as the lineup is concerned tonight for the giants against the Cincinnati Reds. Former? And Yankee Sonny gray will go to the mount he's only four but not bad three point six four era. He's had some bad luck against Beatty. Joe panics gonna lead off and play. Second base mentioned my Gerber. He's going to be in left field. Again. If you missed it Gerber three fifty seven batting average and one five seven Opie s so he's been good. He's in the two holes. The giants continue to look for offense. Buster Posey's been hot hits well in that Parkinson's Inada he's in the three hole. Brandon belt's gonna play first base hitting four. Evan longoria. Play third base. He's hitting in the five whole Brennan Crawford. Still trying to snap out of that slump easing six and obviously playing short Kim implores hitting seven and he's in center field. Steven Duggar in right? He's banning eighth. And again Tyler Beatty to the mound batting night as the giants. Take off against

"That's on my wall. Lumber land is changing the game right now. Yeah. These these dudes are dialed in Garib abyss diet the fucking. I've got multiple cubs from these dudes one let's be real I purchased some on my own before he ever even met these forever, even knew them. But they are they're doing magical stuff with baseball memorabilia bat specifically, obviously, they turn your favorite bat into a beverage holder book and Cup keeps it nice and frothy. There also doing great shift these signature series. They got one for our boy Longo players signature series. They're putting their faces on the mugs, mugs on mugs. Folks. Lumber land that's l u m b R L E in D, lumber go get these fucking mugs in your mug. Outstanding. Interview with Evan longoria. Of course is brought to you by lumber Lind. The here you go. Evan longoria of the San Francisco Giants, we'll see. Longoria all of these different. Cisco giants. Let's let's let's start there. But what is it like now having played for the Tampa Bay rays, and we all know, what what you know, what it might be like raise. What's it like to play for the fan base that shows? I would say what is my second interview session. Whatever you wanna call it with the borstal crew. And you guys are off to a better star. Because Portnoy called it the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He doesn't over. Yeah. But did you score was if you didn't do a decimal point if you don't like a seven that's risk? Oh, no. I get with this. I pretty sure give six point nine. Like, I I rated it really high. What she was just wearing. Me for that. It was pretty pizza, and he actually gave it I think pretty good review too. But yeah, I think I gave it anyways. Yeah. We're so word you guys are off to better start. It's it's great, man. Like Tito, San Francisco's obviously completely completely different than than Tampa in pretty much every aspect big city big faster pace outdoor ball. Or like anything? You can name is just different buffet Headley Hagley at beta bay, but it was fun. Last year was tough. You know that year was cut in half basically with a broken hand. Just at that point. It was like I felt like I was getting my feet underneath me. And then I you know offered a month and a half. But this year like I will say I thought I was going to be comfortable coming into spring last year off move live here, you know, those going to be easy, and it was a lot. So for the next decade. So this year's like a lot like nobody wants to talk to me. Now, like, I'm cool. I really don't have media care. You know, it's like not that. They don't care. They don't wanna talk to you every day. They don't ask me how you know. It was touch the dirt as a giant first time, whatever. So it's big. What was that? Like because there's a lot of history. I grew up grew up in California grove Stockton grew giants fan. So I appreciate the history of the game the ballpark and all that should candlestick to AT and T Pat Bill out its four core own whatever the hell you, but you see some of those greats walking around because you yourself when we look at the Tampa raised him the reason we look at that roster. The history, you are verbally entrenched in the history and the start of of that organization. Transition hop about this bail over here on the west side. And now you've got folks like Willie Mack that guys like we'll just the list. Barry list goes on and on..

"I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I mean. Ball. But I love sleep too. I might just catch the highlights. It's I dunno. I feel Jay you're gonna wake up for this. No. Oh, wow. Yeah. You. Yeah. Your fans, and actually that's not. That's actually, not true. I have to get up anyway at like six thirty or six forty five. So now that I'm talking about. I probably will just go ahead and get up. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I I wa- I probably will. I'll probably wake up and tweet like a couple of innings just that everyone sees how dedicated I am. And then I'll just go back to sleep. On. I'm just going to power through stay away. I think you sort of just gave yourself away in a believe your investment now. I'll just schedule some tweets schedule tweets for like six forty five. Holy shit. You see that? Yeah. You should you should. And just tag me in all you see. Schedule. What see the depth on that slider? It's crazy. You're that chart. Evan longoria long on the podcast today as the spikes up tore content continues to seep seep out of the library that we have stored by the way, the YouTube channel officially launches on Thursday. But if you go to the YouTube page, I think all you have to do is type in starting nine on YouTube, and you will see a full interviews. Every interview that we've released so far on this podcast. The full length interview will live on that YouTube page. So that means no-one are not oh that means Trevor Bauer in my cleven jer that means Luke Voight that means that Evan longoria. They were all there on that YouTube page right now everybody everybody air body forget to that. Evan longoria interview, though. My trout, and we're not gonna we're not diving deep into micro yet. But we can't just start the podcast with an elephant in the room that elephant ask contract. And that's not a knock that is just talking about the size of this twelve year extension. Kraut got nice of him to leave money on the table too. I thought, you know, realistically, do you think? We'll just I I want to answer this question before we use a little tease just a little tip of the iceberg conversation piece. Do you think that if Mike trout waited until twenty twenty hit free agency that he would have gotten more total dollars on the free agent market? For the years of free agency. I'm going to. I'm going to say I'm gonna say, yes, I'm gonna say, yes, I'm going to say, yes. From who? I mean, I feel like somebody finds somebody finds a place lines. I think we could make some room for that guy in the Rosser like, yeah. Because there's nobody that you're saying goodbye to if you're any organization that you're not okay with welcoming Mike trout as the replacement. Yeah. So I mean, like, you know, as far as who there's there's that's a that's a knee jerk. Like, I don't have a good answer for that. Because there's a lot of what if you know like you can you can make a lot of things move around. So I think I'll say this much do I think might trout gets a half a billion dollars. If he hits regency. Yes. Jay. I think he would have gotten more than he received. But I don't think he would have had half a billion. I do think it's amazing that this contract is universally regarded as him still being underpaid. It is it is. I I didn't. I basically didn't see any take counter to that. Well, exactly. And that's like I said it was almost like people were just across baseball people were like. Well, thank God. It's not the fucking Yankees. And that was it. And and we just you know, you just can't keep your head down. And you kept smashing your your chicken potpie a done deal. Yeah. So I was fan graphs. I I love fan graphs. I think it's when you use the value tool to see what a player was actually worth based on their statistics. Here's what I came up with. So if Mike trout micro last season, it was his best season statistically, ever, how much do you think that that season was worth in dollar form?.

"We I'll take you down to the field for our live broadcast on our amichi's, east coast pizzeria stage with your hosts fits in Brooks. On your home of giants baseball NPR six eight sports. What's the over under on how many times we say AT and T park. I'm gonna try zero. I'd say oracle all the time. Anyway. Real jobs. Bob, FitzGerald, it's great to once again be a cane giants fan fest and be sun is out. If you're listening, and you wonder if you should show up show up now because it is turning out to be a beautiful day. We got the best three guys of all of the FanFest shows. What are we start? Well, here's the thing. First of all Fitz and Brooks brought the sun out. But only because Evan longoria Stephen Duggar and Ray black were nice enough to stop by. Because during the week, we looked at our three, and I said first of all Ray will killed alive bear and thrown it over his shoulder and walked in. Plus, he's tall rod. So we wanted that Doug Clemson grad. So they championship in college football. And we add them on when he first broke into the bigs and Evan longoria was at a warrior game last year. And I was like already loving having longoria because when he killed my White Sox all the time. I wanted him to leave Tampa. Well, we got him here in the bay. So all three guys we want to do for this little segment. So let's start with you evident terms of this is the time of year everyone's optimistic. Everybody's feeling good. But I got to think what I see. Longoria Crawford panic. Bell Posey gas Caballo chip on your shoulder mean people are talking about all the giants is NAT. There's guys I look at the back of the baseball cards. There's some accomplishments on this team and people kinda thrown all that by the wayside. Yeah. I mean, that's good. We listen. We well, I shouldn't say we. But, but this organization in the past has been an underdog plenty of times, you know, I think every playoff run that they've made to the World Series. They've been the underdog. And so that's fine. We can be counted out. And we'll be happy about that. I mean, obviously, I think all of us miss time last year, you know, and and and so did Duggar. And and so there was a lot of pieces missing. And we we gotta be healthy. You know, we have to be healthy. Everybody has to be out there on the field. And like you said, I mean, we're we're pretty confident that if we're all out there at the same time, we can we can have a solid year. Here's what I loved about. Having you guys together you all major giants debuts last year. But you're only completely different. Parts of your career. You know, you come up and you've been trying and trying to get here. And you finally made it to the big Stephen, you know, you've been talked about as the guy the future you came up. It ended a little bit short for you. And Evan obviously coming over here. Your first year in the National League your first year with the giants owners start with you. How much of an adjustment was it for you in the National League to really get your thing going to where you felt comfortable. It's a big adjustment. I mean, you know, just being in one place for so long. You get you get comfortable and sometimes a little bit.
