"If this is the way that you see the world. Americans want to know if there's more to this beyond just sort of talk and keeping it up public. So look, the president's not going to give up on this, right? He's going to keep at it. He's going to make sure that we keep the American people. American families, American communities safe. Now, if you remember, if you look at the last two years, this is a president that deserves a lot of credit. We've gotten a lot of things done. If you think about the executive actions that he took, more executive action than any president at this time. One of the fun things in politics is trying to spot the tells in various people in politics and when they are fibbing. For Korean Jean Pierre that is the fast blinking the use of right and the constant nodding. When she's doing those things, she's lying. So when she says, things are going amazing. And everything is great. Don't you know? Right? I mean, that's what we're saying, right? Okay, you know that she's not telling you the truth. Meanwhile, Cecilia Ross, rouse, who is one of the economic advisers to the president, she's out there suggesting that President Biden is focused like a laser on inflation. If this isn't focused on inflation, I'd hate to see what it looks like when he's not focused on inflation. As prices climb, experts worry that older individuals who are poor physical or mental health or who have lower incomes are at greater risk for not having enough food or for eating less healthy foods. The squeeze also has a potential to isolate them socially if they back away from activities like eating out with friends. I'm just thinking, what would you say to those folks, Cecilia? Absolutely inflation is painful across the economy. And that is why the Federal Reserve is taking the action as taking. It is why President Biden is focused on inflation. So if we go to seniors in the inflation reduction act, he was focused on decreasing costs for them. Oh, that's what he's been focusing on is the inflation reduction act, which again, they even changed what they claimed it was supposed to do. You remember that when they were pushing the inflation reduction actors supposed to decrease inflation, which it has not really done any market way. And remember, I will say again, the Federal Reserve is tasked with keeping inflation at a 2% annualized rate. We have not seen a 2% annualized rate in this country since February of 2021, the month after Joe Biden took office. Since then, it is now we're now at triple. You're on your what the inflation rate is supposed to be. And that is after a year where there was a quadruple inflation rate, what it's supposed to be. And nearly 8% inflation rate, January 22. And now we have a 6 and a half percent inflation rate in January 2023, and these dots are out there saying everything is working amazing. So what does this mean? It means the Federal Reserve is going to have to ratchet up those interest rates even more. So all of the talk, the happy talk in the markets about, well, you know, the Federal Reserve, they're probably going to back off right now. Things are starting to work. It's all going to be fine. The economy is just running too hot. Jason Furman, who is an economic adviser to Barack Obama. He says, inflation is going to stay above 3% unless we get a serious recession. And he is totally right about this. I think the markets are just ridiculously complacent about the inflation situation right now. I look at tips, I look at swaps, they're have break evens of inflation of around 2%. I just don't see that. I don't see how we have inflation much below 3% this year. I don't see it coming down below that without a decent sized recession. He's right about this. The actual retail sales in January jumped 3%. So people are continuing to spend money, and that is driving up the prices. People still need to buy the necessities and they still have, again, we spent more money in 2020, 2021 and 2022 than any time in human history. And so people had all this money pumped into their pocket. And now they're spending all that money. And it is jacking up the prices for everything. And so that's not going to stop until the economy cools. This is what happens when the government plays with the money supply. This is what happens when the Federal Reserve decides to essentially buy up every asset insight in order to inject liquidity into an economy instead of saying, hey maybe we should hold back and wait off a little bit. And then people will go back to work. There's also the problem with a shutdown economy that was pursued in 2020 by a wide variety of high income states. Doing that as it turns out, just inject tons of liquidity into the economy. It goes into people's pockets. They save it for a couple of years. And then they spend all of it. And so until that is exhausted, what you're going to end up with is these elevated these elevated rates. And meanwhile, you also have supply problems. So one of the things that's happened obviously is that oil supply in the country is not meeting demand right now. When Joe Biden took office, the price of a gallon of gas about $2 and 40 cents a gallon. Today, it is a buck more than that. Despite all of Joe Biden's talk about how wonderful he has been on the Gaston oil issue. Even Joe Biden is now being forced to admit that new refineries are not being built because of him. It's kind of amazing. Sometimes the doddering old man accidentally says something true. Look at him saying something to accidentally in just one second first. And I got to tell you, I'm not getting the kind of sleep that I'm normally accustomed to. And I'm not normally accustomed to tons of sleep. I have three kids. I have a puppy. This means I'm up at all hours of the night. The only thing that is keeping me sane and rational these days is black rifle coffee. But what's your thought about the democrats okay. So my comment is this. I think looking back. And i'm gonna power face. What was said but the greatest dissemination of this information throughout the media was kamala harris. And that's because she had the biggest largest bully pulpit and she said and i'm paraphrasing. i would not take the vaccine of donald trump. who's advocating or promoting it. Now this is the same vaccine. That biden is now swearing. By and i would think since she was able to get wall to wall media coverage without that sound bite that probably three hundred million people in the united states but she said out of those we know at least seventy five seventy seven million people voted for her and joe biden so she got to influence half the population of the united states to at least the doubtful or in some way have some suspicion about that vaccine because what she i clicked tom. The origins really in at least american political discourse a vaccine hesitancy came from democrats like vitamin harris themselves. Who were saying. I mean you know. Maybe you can't trust vaccine under trump's fda. They absolutely did it. That there's no doubt. And i think people i understand the argument of hey. We need science to not be political. But i don't understand how anybody out there who has listened to everything. Our public scientists have said since march of twenty twenty can come to any other conclusion other than it's all political and i think it's unfortunate but that's where we are and that's why. I'm afraid that we're going to end up in bach. Another lockdown before all is said and done in. This process got is where we are headed. You got a new york city councilman. And now that the del delta buried is coming back. they're licking their chops. 'cause every minute of it i it's time for these people these people in california anywhere else if you're vaccinated. You should not have to wear that. People need to stand up to this. The how can. I feel like you just shouldn't don't wear masks period. Syria i if the data doesn't reflect in buchan mine's mine again and we try to use the actual data. The data doesn't reflect. That mask made any difference at all. If you compare different state outcomes based on the way that they the choices that they made in other words if you look at florida and you look at texas and you compare them with california new york. Florida and texas. Far less draconian in terms of what they required compared to new york in california yet. Florida and texas have lower rates of cova coleman infection cova deaths than those other places and so what bucket i try to do is share data with you real facts and try to make sense of it and sometimes that can be challenging in real time. Know huff po or new york magazine or the washington post and expecting that. They're doing anything if you're on the right and you're known is on the right. They're trying to destroy you. So that's that's the lesson learned for anybody. You didn't know that. And and i see what they did to my friends at black right and they are my friends and i tell you that just so you all know where i'm coming from on this. I'm honest with you. Unlike the left wing media that pretends to be neutral but beyond that clay going after sponsors of conservative content. Right the people that that you know. This is true when they go after. Mike lindell it's true and they go after have for when they go after these individuals there's a multiplier effects of the hit piece because they're the reason the left wins so much in the media is that you can have mercedes commercials on msnbc not going to have those on your conservative website. But i know what that process is like because i've been through getting targeted in and had quotes taken out of context had a part of a sentence as the quote all of that which is fundamentally inaccurate. "That was like blatantly obvious right so just so. We're clear here day. They quoted you guys as saying in this article it's such a repugnant group of people. It's like the worst of american society. the some of the people that hijacked portions of the brand. And so that's that's the one that's a quote. That's all over social media. That's what's got people that's what has some of your people. My people right people on the right. Who share our values upset. They saw that headline. They're upset address for us now. We both what was left out there from the new york times but also. How do you really feel about the people who are upset about this. You what because they feel like they've been slapped in the face. What do you say to them. Well i i think i. It's a climate conservative. And there's absolutely no way that i'm in any any contact saying negative things towards conservative. Because i'm not self-loathing i love being a conservative in this country i love the country What we were discussing. And i think this is where this has to be corrected. The journalists and i were discussing racism and anti-semitism and what was happening to the company last year was there's an attack that lasted electronic attack was organized anti some medics and they were targeting the company based on my last name and they were making death threats. They were posting memes. We've seen this dark underbelly of the internet whether they were left or right. I was not differentiating saying these people. That are blatantly racist and antisemitic. They're the worst of our society and they showed it on the internet and they showed us who they were in the attack. You know the way that was woven together was directly misrepresentative to the statements And the context of the conversation was only around anti-semitism and racism and their euro connection between conservatives and those two elements for society. I think it's a very important distinction that conservatives have to make all the time and so did the left like whether you're left or right you can't really put those groups in that bucket so evident it sounds like oh you're telling us is that is that you know if someone asked me they said what do you think of you know the the tiki torch mob in charlottesville years ago and i'd say those guys those guys are idiots. They don't represent anything that i share for. And then if i said that the new york times says well conservative. Host says that a bunch of other conservatives are idiots don't represent his values. I it sounds to me like that's what you're saying happened here is that is that fair version of events. That is a hundred percent accurate. The only time that i discussed this was like repugnant. Was those elements our society anti-semites racists and they have no place in conservative politics or the conservative portion of america And i stand by that today. So there's a complete disconnect between what were referring to in our customer base and those elements of our society And that's where there was a direct misrepresentation of what i was speaking of evan. One of the things that i think is certainly getting misrepresented in mainstream media. Something that any of us are are somewhat familiar with one of the challenges that you have as well is your brand ed. Black rifle has become so so powerful and so reflective and so attractive people that you get judged when someone does something inappropriate in your gear ryan away. That doesn't happen with nike right. Like or or other big brands. That to me seems transparently. Unfair let me give you an example when when we had all of the protests going on for the whole summer and somebody gets arrested and they're wearing nike t shirt. People aren't like oh. My god look at nike. They support looting and rioting and all those different things yet when someone in a black rifle shirt gets arrested and immediately gets lumped in with you. Is that just a form of unfair media. How would you assess the fact that somebody might be wearing your gear when you guys are selling millions and millions of dollars worth a gear. Basically you have the entire scope in some direction. I would imagine of american life with people wearing your gear and i think one. It's unrealistic expectation that after a consumer purchases a hat. Were shirt that you have knowledge as to what they're going to do wearing that hat or shirt like it's a completely unrealistic expectation too. I absolutely know that. There's a double standard specifically with. I think mainstream media to vilnai's small american companies. That really believed in this country and uphold american values and specifically if identified themselves as conservative. They take that as an opportunity to highlight specific companies. And they've done it multiple companies that i know of Crypt pack our company. Grunt style. We weren't the only ones. So this is a very specific and targeted attack to I think inflame certain portions of the country and then make small business because we are relatively small business. What bad There's no way that i can think of it any other way. Not a conspiracy theorist and regard. But i do think that they use this as an opportunity to paint or doing is specific avenue. "Today we get to talk with the CEO and founder of an organization that has experienced outrageous hockey stick growth like in the first year they generated over a million dollars and in the second year. They were an eight million dollar top line. Revenue Company and that growth has discontinued but in the midst of all that growth. They haven't lost the reason why they started. They figured out how to scale with Seoul. Evan Hafer is a retired green beret. Who LOVES TO THINGS COFFEE IN AMERICA and it was out of these two passions that he created black rifle coffee company a company that has taken the world of coffee by storm while simultaneously maintaining the mission and values that they started with the mission for black rifle. Coffee is to serve coffee in culture. Two people that love America content is kind of the internal classification definition with that but the overarching term. That people can kind of digest is just culture So to serve coffee and culture to people who Love America. That feels like it's a pretty intentionally worded statements. I'd love to jump into some of those words so let's start with a obviously kind of what you do coffee. Yeah why Coffee Evan? I think you know from my perspective you have to be passionate about your profession and I've been roasting coffee and developing different roasts for close to fifteen years now. And you know I think where it started for me. Not to jump into the The origin story. But yeah I developed a kind of a profound love and then eventually a hobby for coffey back in the late nineties was in Seattle and I was working on accomplishing a degree from the University of Washington and then I was trying to become a green beret and as a young man. I think you know finding coffee and then looking at the culture and what's happening around coffey back. Then it really galvanized this interest. And so when I became a green beret and went on and started deploying. I still had the love for coffee right. It didn't go anywhere. It just changed it become became more about. Where are you drinking coffee? And for me it was finding great coffee and random and dangerous places and ultimately when I decided to get out of government service it was. It was a natural progression automatically. It was kind of a planned exit and exactly where I wanted to take my next evolution in professional development. I love that line. Great coffee in dangerous places. It's amazing we asked a bunch of your team in Manchester amount like what they loved about coffee and it was crazy. It was like almost an emotional experience for some of them. I was like holy cow when they use the word. Love like they're not joking around here. They really love
