AMC+ to air first-ever Walking Dead holiday special
"Oh, the holiday special. Um, I actually when I saw this headline and went Oh, God, no. The walking dead. We'll take a break from bad vibes to Eric's first ever holiday special. What? Yeah. Does that mean on December 13th? I will tell you what it means. Just in 10 days, okay? There is going to be a holiday special is going to be hosted by Chris Hardwick, and he's going to moderate a mass chat with cast members past and present. Here's the part that's gonna get real cringe. E for everybody. You know, there's also gonna be some caroling s O s O. The actress who played Maggie's Little sister, Emily Kenny, she played Beth Green. She's going to perform the Yuletide classic up on the Housetop. Oh, while let's see. I looked up all the actors. They just list the actor's name, so I looked up their characters while Ezekiel Jerry You, Mako and Lydia is going. They're going to do a parody of 12 days of Christmas, a song presumably with lyrics about flesh eating and society crumbling. Okay, so yeah. On the house top. And then you have the 12 days of Christmas about zombies by those fine folks. On then it's just It's all just so incredibly awkward. Then they're going to do actually the only cool thing If you're really into the show is that there's going to be a table reading from the forthcoming episode, which won't air until late March of next year, so they're going to do a table reading of this. Um okay. So you're gonna basically know what the episode is, If you watch this the next episode and other people, including this are Carol Eugene. Connie Judith. And he did favorite Yes. Oh, it's past and present some people that you thought you got rid of that already died like the girl. It's going to be singing. Um, Emily Kinney. Beth Green. I was glad when she died. I was like, Oh, see, That's what's great about this show. Is that you about Glenn? Oh, Glenn. I don't see Glenn on this list here. Oh, he'd bring us to the yard Exactly. But it's going to be, uh, airs December 13th on a emcees. Premium streaming bundle. We have to pay extra for this I get. I don't know the premium streaming bundle. Is that something I'm assuming it is? It's something that AMC has, like their own streaming service. Like CBS all access. Have to do some research on that, but that's when it airs. It's really great for people who are super into a walking dead, but the whole singing thing just makes me really nervous. That's why I want to see it to see them. Like do wedding. Oh, gods require the walking dead. You know that if they're changing the words to Zombie ish stuff. Yeah, I mean, they've done this several times in the show word. They'll have an actor who can sing and it's just so cringe. E, like, you know, like that one guy who was at the hilltop and he would like, sit by the campfire. Yeah, that dude, she couldn't be there. Yeah. You know what? He probably is begging to be there. He'll be there. Yeah, And so they'll take these people that are actors and singers. And somehow work in music to the show, which is always like no, not this. Bring back the flesh eating zombies. You know, we don't want to see singing by the campfire less obvious. They're gonna attack and interrupted. That's the only purpose. You know what I mean. 12 ripping heads on got suspending 10 rotting body. Nine. Next breaking glory gravestone. Seven shambling nightmares. Six bedded fingers, five appetites for future toes. Three teeth left two bloodshot eyes and a fresh, juicy brain in the hands their ago Now I like that real quick find that good things are out of your head. That was pretty good. Right? That real quick, Jason. Silent for a minute or two. You found it. Okay. Well, that's still excellent. All right, so I'll have to research What am sees premium streaming bundle is and see if we can Maybe just buy it for a night and then cancel. Yes, because I will. I'm curious just to see how this whole thing will go down. Let me just say there are certain shows that shouldn't do a Christmas special. Yeah, that is the first ever walking that there's a reason the walking dead one of those

Music from Russian Operas
"Hello I'm Naomi Lewin welcome to classics, for? Kids That's the pollen is from Modesto oxy's Opera Boris, Godunov, today music from operas by some other Russian composers. They call me Kyle Glinka, the father of Russian classical music. You hardly ever see Glinka opera Muslim and Ludmilla, but you hear the overture all the time. Well at least loosely, Ludmila has been performed. That's more than you can say for some operas. Lada flopped twice the first time a Russian theatre s four different composers to collaborate writing a combination opera ballet that Malaysia was never performed. Then rimsky-korsakov who was one of the four composers recycled the music he'd written into a Milonga of his own that Lada lasted all of six performances. If you've been Mada is a funny title. Sergei Prokofiev opera called the love for three oranges. The love for three oranges is about a prince who finds the princess he loves inside an orange one of three oranges. Love is a big problem for the title character in an opera by Tchaikovsky called Eugene on Yagan. A girl named Tatyana in love with you gene on Yagan but he doesn't fall in love with her until it's too late and she's married to someone else the two of them always seemed to be meeting up at a ball. So Tchaikovsky put plenty of dance music including this waltz into his author. Part of Modesto Resorts Skis Opera Boris good enough takes place in a Polish court where they do a Polish dance, the pullen his. Another Russian opera with famous dances in it is by Alexander Barra Dean Borodino was a professor of chemistry who only got to write music in his spare time. His only opera was prince eager in which the prince eager gets captured while fighting the pile-up Ziems. The best known part of the opera is when the Pelosi enslaves entertain prince e core by singing. Dancing. Ardine died before he could finish prints eager. But two of his friends who knew how he wanted it to sound finished it for him. One of those friends was Nikolai rimsky-korsakov whose flight of the Bumblebee is far more famous than the tale of Czar Sultan, the opera for which he wrote it. You can definitely hear a flying insect in the flight of the Bumblebee. From flying bees to dancing pelotons, I hope you've enjoyed this week's music from Russian operas.

Wildfires Jeopardize Access To Drinking Water
"In many Western states, drinking water supply start high up in the mountains as reverse. This summer's record-breaking wildfires have reduced some headwaters, forest burn trees and heaps of Ash as Luke Runyan from member. Station K. U.. NC reports that often creates expensive headaches for water treatment plants long after the smoke clears. Few places in the West know how wildfires affect water supplies like Fort Collins Colorado the state's largest wildfire ever recorded is burning just outside the city now but their problems really started eight years ago before then it's main water source the poodle river was nearly pristine. We had been privileged and in some ways probably took for granted that these watersheds were providing. A consistently clean clear water all the time. That's Fort Collins Water Quality Manager. Jill or pays we're along the river just outside the city downstream from where in twenty twelve, the high park fire burned more than eighty, seven, thousand acres for the first year after the fire every time it rained the river turned black from mudslides we ended up with a lot. Of Sediment in our pipelines that was difficult to remove to keep those muddy flows from causing problems, the city installed an early warning system, a series of monitoring stations along the river. If there's too much sediment or a pays says utility workers can turn off the treatment plants intake and switch to water from a large reservoir it became really important for us. To have a heads up for win those changes in water quality were occurring the effects of the burn scar on water quality only lasted a few years but this early warning system is far from obsolete because this year is cameron peak fire has burned another broad sweep of the river's watershed, which means for Collins, again joins the list of western cities learning. To live with wildfires that burn bigger and hotter than they've ever seen before this is a new reality and we're learning as we go. Joe. Harwood is with the water and electrical utility for two hundred, thousand people in and around Eugene Oregon this summer the holiday farm fire burned along the banks of their sole water source, the McKenzie River soon after their. Customers noticed the water coming out of their faucets had a smokey taste people quite frankly to use a scientific term freaked out because it's not something he'd dealt with me for Harwood's says, they eventually figured out the chemistry at their treatment plan to remove the taste and when this winter's rainstorms arrive, utility workers will be monitoring for other harmful things that can. But she says decisions the city made after that last big fire like building new infrastructure to remove sediment and beefing up policies around residential water restrictions will help them respond this time around we live in fire prone. watershed and. Is TikTok a Window Into What's Next for Audio?
"What do you make of the differences and similarities between Tiktok and what we can and can't learn Tiktok when it comes to product in audio? Do you guys any thoughts on that? You've written so many posts about chick toxins very early on. Like tick toxin extreme example if you don't look at the screen and you just listen none of the videos next time, you'll miss the punchline like the whole. Exactly proper. Individual for talk so I, think there are at least two similarities. What they do really well is they take to his point commodity music that if you just listen to it in the background, you missed the whole point but then they let their user's unique I that commodity music right by adding to it with their video. I think you just made up a word by the way. Keep going. And I think there's a great pattern, right? You have something that's commodity. You can use your user base to turn into something that is non commodity gets this engine that takes these clips and creates unique content around it. So I think that's a really interesting pattern that you could probably copied other businesses that has commodity content. Let your audience do something with it to make it unique. The other analogy that I see audio as specifically music if you think about Eugene waste post on seeing an algorithm. What he said was that the medium itself is built to be understood by Algorithm presentable one item at the time you either consumed or you swipe. So it's for the algorithms understand what you're paying attention to, versus for example, a sculling feed where the algorithm has no idea which item your eyes are actually looking at right isolating specific variables so that the Product developer knows what is working or not working essentially for the user exactly, and if you think about music actually it's the exact same thing. You present one audio track at a time you're listening to it or you skip in that sense you can say it's a similar sort of you I. But in Audio, the checking part is actually just the length. Of the song the length of tiktok video because you get to a very quick decision if you like that tiktok video or not literally within like two three seconds for a as many of you know like the first couple seconds of a song doesn't sound anything like the course or the ending. So you just have to go further into the song before. You really gauge someone truly likes it or not. But to me, that's the only difference and tiktok evaluations per minute because they're sorta clips, but it's also more direct but it is interesting that you mention this because this is what is happening in the label industry. It is super clear that Israel matters more and more. So you do have the TIKTOK and music. Songs used to start slow they don't anymore because people keep within the first ten seconds. So fascinating. So the tick tock effect where people are now creating different kinds of music I would say one more thing on Tiktok so there are some similarities between evaluating audio one track at a time and evaluating video on track at the time there is a big difference which is. TIKTOK CASIO, our full attention if you're a full screen and your painful attention, then it's a pretty good signal. But if you're washing dishes and listening on a speaker, you get very posing also depends on the context and you have to take into account when you look at the signal.
Midnight Moment - Media Grinds my Gears - burst 1
"Hey Patriots Paul Spartan here with your truck tonight moment. It's just after midnight here in the mall High Command Center in the paper the price of.com Studios or Theatres Rowland. Right. So you wanted to do something about the the the blatant stupidity of the media which you know, currently I agree with as well. But what's up? I'm pissed off lately, you know listening to it does just the the the main street bullship of the you know, I mean people like I'll give you an example today, you know, listen to them, but I'm listening to Shaun Hannity. Yeah, listen to him this afternoon. I'm really quite fed up with listening to repetitive bulshit get repetitive nature of every day. They talked about Hillary Clinton Steele dossier rented Comey Clapper by today, He's strong all these people they keep describing the every single day for like the past year or two years. Hm about a dog. It's like I don't be the sort of nasty ugly way, but it's like listen to Joel Osteen. Yeah, give some really cool messages but it always ends up being the same thing. You get the same road. So guys go to give you this God's going to give you a Bountiful Harvest. We're down the road go to prevent all this treasure on the 7-year like that's right. Okay so big way down with Fox News because I was so tired of hearing these people talking about all these different things going on with Adele They Declassified all the stuff of of the of the Hillary Clinton emails and all this stuff. I mean, I'm at the point where it's either a license assholes or wage shut the hell up something else until somebody comes to light that you can bring the stuff back to the Forefront and put these assholes in jail log. This is everybody. I mean, what is that? What's the guy the the US attorney that's been looking into all of it? And he was promising results by the end of summer. And now it's now he's saying that you're not going to get any results until after the first of the year because of all the delays from covid-19. You know, I got a I got to say that that doesn't rub me correct either. Okay, Electro over that code would shit left the station three months ago. How exactly secondly you know, if if your average citizen you were high or being investigated for this we'd received at the maximum at the maximum. We'd receive inbox on the door. And a you know, Mister Spartan Mister burden, we need you to come with us, please and we would be handcuffed and read our rights and taken to a location and questions about who know so treatments months ago. Oh, yeah, so that said my my real question has been these past four months. Why isn't that happening? You know, why isn't why is the weight of why isn't the weight of the federal government being used to you know, what for lack of a better word that to you know, get these folks to talk or at least get them on the rep eliminated statement on the record. So you have something to use and dig and then you can you know, pursue charges after that. I mean, you know, they they Rogers. Yeah, we they get Rodger stone for absolutely nothing, you know ditto General General Flynn. I mean if you look into that fucking debacle, I mean that is just, you know, the man the man confessed so that his son wouldn't go to jail under some sort of obscure, you know some sort of obscure Panthers. And and tell me what father wouldn't go. Okay, I'll fall on the sword for my scheduler. Here you go. You know, I mean that's that's ludicrous but somehow we have all this concrete evidence floating around your standard person would would be back in cuffs and and in a Cell for but somehow the Washington Elite is just that just you know isn't going to work. I mean that's that's what people talk about when they're talking about a two-tier justice system and I think it pisses all of us off regardless of wage. So who's in the Oval Office and truth be told it's been this way for decades. This is not this is not something that started in 2016. I mean what what are your thoughts on that? It's probably the story took place during the McCarthy era back of the fifties. I had to be. Yeah. Yeah, that would shock me at all. You know. I am kind of getting a little bit more caught about Eugene McCarthy and it kind of went all that entail, but I just got really fed up with hearing Hannity and Limbaugh. and how to be the media to be has just become really the only people raved I'm kind of going on a chance to hear but sure but right now the only legitimate news sources that I really pay attention to is what American News Network Boeing edit that what's his name the Oklahoma State coach for on home of the T-shirt to Boggle up. Let's see Newsmax and plate Louis Park. I see Luke router to pull The Hodgetwins. Yeah, David Webb, you know the usual suspects Rush Limbaugh. Sure Mark Ross Park Levin regards like a Tucker Carlson, but after that well, maybe Laura Ingraham, but Doug with the really I'm done with Fox knows they're becoming more but I mean ever since Chris warmer. Sorry Chris Wallace, you know, it's Deborah dead dead father's me kill the moderators of these debates. How did get these assholes off? There's there's evidently a federal debate commission that actually actually they choose from a pool of them from what I understand, but that's that is how do these people that they choose in anyway come off as moderator from you know, I mean, let's put it this way and to our listeners out there regardless of what side of the of the the Spectrum you sit on nobody likes to see a nobody likes to see where the referees are biased. Nobody likes that all right. So, you know, you do need to have some sort of at least in partiality and fair treatment and I think I think if there's to all of our sports fans out there suck. We can all agree that we would also rather see a game called fairly even with you know mistakes. Okay, then have a complete and total bias. Okay by the officiating crew. So that said how the hell does a never Trumper like Wallace Wallace is a republican from what I you know, from what I gather but that said he's definitely a never Trumper. So he's definitely got a got an anti presidential an anti-protest bias. Okay, and you know, the funny part to me is Rush Limbaugh said years ago that the the intellectual Elite is that are quote unquote running the media number one. They're not intellectual number one number two, they're not elitist their leftist. They confuse intellectual elitism with political ideology. That was number one. Number two. They are only talking to themselves. In order to get Awards and get noticed by their peers. They give they don't give two shits about the actual audience or John Q or Jane Q public. Okay, and that's become completely evidence. I mean Wallace jumps all over the POTUS to to to where was it decry or disavow white racism or white box. Or superiority or whatever. The man has done it twenty two times in the last three years twenty two times in the last year's Wallace is oblivious to this why he's working at industry and he doesn't know this. You know, I mean, I'm down to see Joe Rogan officiate this and and wait for Joe Biden to go one of his, you know, the same come on man and Joe to look him straight in the face and go know I'm I don't know you're going to have to articulate. Please continue to you know, I mean there shouldn't be rules of a time limit in a debate not not a Choice Dental to be like 5 minutes to a question answer the question go to answer two-thirds of the way down to go. Oh, wait a minute about a time off. Well debate is debate debate as much like a but much like a live chess match. Okay, and you know, like like me a cryptic talk about on our last podcast and we reviewed that show by by the news that conflation tactic to tell blatant untruths and conflated multiple issues and Thursday. That within this time frame but but the rebuttal required longer than two minutes to let a bag of snakes that he threw out on the floor straight because none of it was true, but it's but that's a debate tactic and not used it to his benefit. Unfortunately. What we were talking about was we think that POTUS either didn't prepare correctly or didn't he thought that thought that Biden wouldn't be as much of a threat as he was I don't think that's a mistake he's going to make again, but that I I completely digressed but to go back to your point. Yeah, you either have blatant hatred and lies on one side or just complete a bulb and naivete on the other and you're right. It's getting old. It's getting it's getting stale The Narrative is you know is we're stuck in a stagnant pattern from 2017m. Exactly and it's it's I'm done. I mean, it's like can we please move on to Joe Biden being an absolute the food home? Talking about stuff about these poor these girls. I guess it did some kind of a little dancer some kind of little routine for out of that was yesterday and talking about I want to see these four girls dance like this for years from now. I'm like, oh my god. Wow, dude. Well people that need this. Oh, yeah, he just and he just said something like the reason he was able to stay in his life. So long was cut because some black women stock the shelves. I'm like, holy it's you know, nobody people should go to vote for this asshole. Yes. That's the other point right? There is that, you know, people sent their they beat up on politics. I understand that Elliot Omar Kazi. Oh Cortez Chuck Schumer Pelosi, Mexico has all these buffoons after continually doing and say dumb things, but it's not all their fault. You got to look at them. Orders and go argue that effing idiot. Well more importantly look into this crap. Well more and more importantly to your point. How does anybody see that and go? Oh, yeah, I'll vote for that. Is that coming? Brother? See people Boise driving down the road where to face masks? Oh, yeah. Yep. There's a Democrat write their own nuts. That's who these people are. Yeah, that was one of the jokes that we put up on the page on the page was, you know, if you're going to vote you don't have to have a biting bumper sticker If you're driving alone in your car with a mask on we know off we know. So it's just ridiculous and out here. It's you know, like a what I like to listen to, you know, what up in the early morning or early evening shows like after Rush Limbaugh. After Rush Limbaugh, but after work slip by usually looking to this is named at Birth guys. He's pretty cool. He's a good choice servative functional guy, right? You know, he's what I do. Let's do a set of Hannity cuz we're out of here down in his defense. I do kind of like him but you're right is his narrative is getting a little old. I mean, I think that he needs to understand. Okay, dude and get it. You know, you know, we know birth We know. All right, let's let's take a break here. Will be I mean, you know the other day I was gone off basement. What about about six weeks? I saw on Facebook and the reason why we're on Facebook so long is because I'm so sick and tired of reading all the the falsehoods in stupidity about President Trump. Oh, yeah. I also heard about as ugly just I'm just updated. So I left and now Cutler blessed know when I go back into Facebook and I see all the stuff. I just go hide I post I just I don't even read them. I just I know who they're from. I know what they're going to say. Don't you read them? I'd post it makes me feel a whole lot less stress. I know I agree that crap. You know, it's like I don't it's too late is always it was never too late to change because my Pi's already been paid up and it didn't meet up for the last photo albums for years now. Well those of us those of us that have you know, those of us that have the benefit of age and I don't mean to say any of us are old even though we are dead. Yeah, we remember I wouldn't even think of voting for 16. That was no fucking way. I was voted for Hillary Clinton cuz I remember what a nightmare she was during the Clinton Administration. You know, I know what kind of asshole Joe Biden is cuz she like I said, I remember him from the Clinton Administration writing the crime bill, you know, the single piece of legislation incarcerated more people of color than any other single legislation dead, but I digress I remember that he did that, you know in the funny part is his running mate was more than happy to lock up people of color from marijuana violations while she was sitting back getting stoned at home the same night that she put guys away for it, which is over here sucking, you know, brownie squares real chicken Willie Brown's Road willing I beat yeah. There you go. She owns a Blue Dress suggestions a blue dress of her own those of us that are older in the audience will get that to all right. So let's get Willie. All right guys, so that's going to suck. But this episode of the midnight moment. This has been Spartan and Burton and we will catch you next time. Remember the Constitution is not just a suggestion trip. Well, everybody else. Have a good one.

'The Walking Dead' Finale
"Is the walking dead back, And I mean, literally, I kept right right before my eyes closed. I saw a lot of tweets about the walking dead right is it wasn't gas bag. So what happened is that we had this season going. There was one more episode to error, which was the finale of season 10 and due to the Corona virus, AMC. Had a bunch of, you know, postproduction things they had to do on that episode, and they couldn't do it. So they put it on hold and randomly. A big brother wasn't on last night. So I was just, you know, looking at the Internets. And I'm like, Oh, what is this? The walking dead is back tonight. So then I checked the date of the article. I'm like, Is this now? I mean, How about Giving us a little heads up. I didn't even know that you didn't know anything about was posted on the guy who plays errand. Okay, Aaron. Sorry, errant Aaron. He posted it on Hiss. He posted a clip of him in a final battle and said, mood going into tonight's season finale. And then Norman Reedus put walking dead finale Finally tonight. So there's this one episode and then they're going to come back with season 11, which is going to be 30 episodes, and it's going to take two years to get through. And then the final season. That's that's the final season, and they're going to set up the stage for the spin off the third spinoff with Darryl and Carol, which I will not be watching. But we got to get through two more years of this. It's like a final season and I'm reading here. Okay? It's going to be two years and I was just I didn't hear anything about like. Hey. Set your timer yet, son Dinos in this finale. God, I mean, it's just another big battle. What else can they do? It looks like Aaron is wearing a big garbage can That's his suit. He's like this armor, but he looks like I think it's all for the grouch. It's supposed to be a shield in front of him, but it looks like he's inside a spiked garbage can Now, dawn from what I read, though I'm not trying. Tio played a contrarian here, but I read a couple reviews that people Actually kind of like the finale. Really? Okay. You know, a few of you see, I wanted to watch it. I don't have I sign into websites with password. Eso. AMC doesn't have Ah, like view. It live right now feature because some networks do like you can watch live TV. On their through their website, But AMC doesn't do that. So I was like, Well, I can't watch you right now, anyway, but Yes, I'll watch it tomorrow. Here. You remember what happened? Do you know I was just thinking that Don Lee. I don't even know I might need a refresher for no. And the last thing I want to do is go back and no watch. The last episode was remember when they were caught in the cave. Was that this season? What was that? Mom the other season. That was this season. That was this season where Ah, yeah. Alfa had all the The horrid in the cave. And and then Yeah, So that was the C O. K. It was this season. It just felt like it went on forever ended. And then we have this subgroup that is off doing something else because Remember? Oh, the big dork was a mechanic. Remember the character's names? Our He's which one? It is very annoying. And he does all the technical stuff he like. Oh, wanted to go meet his long hair and ponytail. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he went Eugene Eugene wanted to go meet his little girlfriend He met on his ham radio. They kids, it's important enough to risk their lives to go out into the world. And then they meet the girl in the pink real freak job. Girl less lead them through some land mines. That's that whole side plot. Andi, There's another battle going on. But cash. Am I not interested, but I have to finish it. I know we're in it. We're in it. I watched 10 seasons. I have to finish it yet. My talkers. Ifyou're on the twitters, anyone, anybody watch it. Is there anybody alive out there? This's the one show that I do not care if you spoil it for me, because I don't care enough. I just know that I Dawn Stone. What kind of watch? Is that? The final two year finale. Okay. All right. Okay. We're in it. We're just not. Yes, Alexis. We're not doing the spinoff. Yeah, I'm not doing no way. No, no. Because nobody wants to see uncomfortable conversations between Daryl and Carol. You know, I mean, it's just such a weird like, Are they going to get together or something like I hope not. I Oh, no, no, that is, um Max. I do not want to see then his acting is not that great name where all he does is act like he's chewing on a leave, you know, like he's always chewing something while he's talking, Yeah, awaken often visible distance jerky. Yeah, it's so true. And then he's like dog, Kenya. Us doing this back and forth as much as I like. I like her new voices to this's a new character is very Well, it seems like no one knew it was. It was premiered like you guys because no one's tweeting us. No one is so no one watched it.
Emmys 2020: Who won big at the first virtual ceremony
"Emmy's happened last night. The last couple days I want to say like through last week, there was some of the you know, technical Emmys and Creative arts Emmys and they've all been I've been seeing like the results of those, but these were the actual Actors and actresses and shows and You know the hole, but it was It was virtual, right? Yes. So every I think that they They actually put a show together to do the Emmys. Um But the other ones that I think we're just getting. I'm sure there was some kind of ceremony on zoom or something. But I don't know that those ones were televised. They might have been. No, I mean, look, I didn't I Maybe you mentioned it. Maybe I read. Maybe I didn't. It was a shock to me at whatever time nine o'clock last night when I started seeing the news roll through, and I was like Emmys. You talked about it a little remember? It was, you know, because Jimmy Kimmel was hosting and so there was some talk, but I play police. Li forgot about it and the whole thing so I didn't see one second of it. Oh, yeah, no. And, frankly, these days because of you, Khun DVR things I'd never sit and watch things in real time anyway, so Because who wants us in just to put the others on When I organize S O. The big winner last night is Schmidt's Creek. It's not the name of the show, but right The clothes. They were saying it on TV because I did see a clip after that. They were saying the word, but I don't want you don't want no trouble with you. Just don't I considered it. You know, it spells have pointed out that every time they say it, they had to put the actual words upon these people can read it with. Oh, right. You see, It's not what you think There's an extra tea and they've thrown at sea in there, okay? So I'm just gonna say Schmidt's creek because I'm with you. You know, whatever. I just guess Monday's gonna be hard enough, right? Yeah. What's our theme? We don't want to. We don't want no trouble. That's right. I keep forgetting the better. That's our theme. Well, since I should write that down here, put it up with all my little, you know, daily affirmations. So the Emmys was virtual And Schmidt's Creek swept in all this is it's actually quite amazing because it has never won an Emmy in any other season. Currently they're grand total of Emmy's up till this season when they took him all zero. It doesn't It seems to be a show that we used to have a million of them. And not that, you know. Ahh, that name in particular is obviously means that's a cable show, right? I mean, it's just It's not your Big four or whatever. But it's just a sitcom, and it's fun and it's and it's not that You could miss it, and you wouldn't care. But you could also sit down and watch four episodes on any given night and be like, Wow, that was light. It was easy is their thread that you follow along with? Yes, it's the family that has moved. Uh, I won't tell you the whole story. But yes, there's a story behind Why they're in this motel and Right off super rich. It's only that I find a just a life. Oh, poor things. Is that a Netflix show? It doesn't even say here. Oh, yeah, It's a Netflix. Yeah. So they won nine Emmys for their sixth and final season, including best comedy Siri's. It's a new record for most wins in a single season for a single comedy. Marvellous. Mrs. Mazel had had the record. They said it in 2018 with eight and then they got eight more in 2019. And I don't know if this means that Mrs Mazel was just completely shut out. Oh, end because all the comedy awards seemed to have gone to Schmidt's Creek. The cast swept the acting categories, and that's the first time a comedy Siri's has done that Eugene Levy and Catharine O'Hara won best actor and actress and Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy, one supporting actor and actress. And they're saying here that's never happened. So congratulations to them. Daniel Levy also set a record for most wins for an individual in a seat in a single season with four because he also got trophies for writing and directing and Best comedy Siri's because he's a producer. So he actually technically that four Just for himself personally. Zero m. He's heading into the night. They never had any kind of incredible. But I guess you know, with my cell dominating in the last couple of seasons would be hard for anyone to rack up any numbers. They also set a record last night at the Emmys for most wins by black actors, including Regina King and Yaya Abdul Mateen. Ah, The second for watchman. Ouzo Duba for Mrs America. And Zendaya for euphoria. She's also the youngest Emmy winner in this category. Outstanding lead actress for drama. Stop me. If you have pulled any audio for any of these things in particular, I pulled some furs and die a winning it Isa from Oakland, apparently which is why we wanted to make sure we've got her on. So here she is reacting. Yeah, it is her reacting and she says a couple of things, but just there's there's a party behind her. So I know that I just want to say thank you to the TV academy to all the other incredible women in this category. I I admire you all so much. This is, um Oh, this is pretty crazy. Didn't really crying, Okay? I know this feels like a really weird time to be celebrating. But I just want to see that there is hope in the young people out there. I know that our TV show doesn't always feel like a great example of that. But there is hope in the other people, and I just want to say to all my peers out there doing the work in the streets. I see you. I'm are you I Thank you. And yeah, thank you so, so much. Um, this is thank you. And, of course, is through zoom. So right. Well, everyone was zooming in S O. She's the youngest any award winner for outstanding lead Actress for drama. So congratulations, Twos and Dia. And I guess I assumed that that party was happening in Oakland flatter know about that, But I do know she's she's pretty accomplished for such a young lady heard she's stars in Great America, the greatest showman Ohio. I want to say the great American hero. I don't know what she's in the great American. Ah, SOS and Dia. Congratulations to her. Eddie Murphy and Maya Rudolph one for Saturday Night Live, I guess for guest appearances and Ron Cephas Jones for this is us Eso Black actors Big night of record for most wins by black actors at the Emmys last night. The ceremony itself was obviously very different. Jimmy Kimmel hosted in an empty arena. Tried to fool us with crowd reactions from past ceremonies. Was anyone some of that? Yeah, sure. I'll watch a little of that. Oh watchmen. Also what Jerry Falwell Jr was into Flashing people appreciating and there's a flash of him in the audience. Then how much hilarious here that would mean that no one is in the audience. That would mean that I'm a lump here all alone. You'll see them. They turn the lights up. Just of course I'm here all alone. Of course. We don't have an audience. This isn't a mag a rally. It's the Emmys. Instead of a live audience. We took a page from baseball tonight and we filled the seats with cardboard cutouts of the nominees. You can see we have. Regina King, Hugh Jackman, Jason Bateman. Wait a minute. Go back one. Jason Patient, He's really hilarious. Yes, they did move. Mind your business Camel Big night for May. I know it's a big night but you can't be in here. We have very strict safety protocols. I'm clean guy. OK, I'm a big big washer upper always have been smell my hands like a garden. No, thank you. I'm sure you're clean. That's not the point. We just have a limit on how many people we can have in the building. So you really need to go? No, I don't. I don't. Okay. I haven't left the house for six months. Don't send me back there. I want to be here. This isn't a ritzy You know, I mean, I wantto eat shrimp with the cast of the crown. All right, I'm gonna want Mario Lopez asked me about my pants. Let's go. We don't have any friends that you could stay as long as you promise to laugh at my jokes. I'm out. I'm gonna call the car Loved Jason Bateman. Job. Good job s O. He reveals he's alone Except for Jason Bateman. Jimmy Kimmel. Continue with the show and some presenters did join him live. Jennifer Aniston was there. Did you grab that? I did here. Let me just pull that up. On the video. I said. I said, thanks, Jimmy. Other all across the stage from each other, Never, Never mind. It? Yes, I'd love some wine. No, I I said, Never mind. Oh, why are you standing all so far away from me, Dr Fauci said 60 ft. So 60 ft. No, isn't he said 6 Ft. Thank you. You also have sexy feet. Okay? Here, and that's it. Hilarious by the way. She then got in her extremely fast car lives right around the corner from there, and ah, she she made another appearance from her house later. So right? Yeah, but we're here. Oh, okay heads and there's Courtney Cox, Courtney's there. Of course I'm here. We live together. You do know there's a lag. Yeah, We've been roommates since 1994. But I don't know is it is this live TV? Both of you very well done. It's super cute. But the awkward, you know, three seconds of science, retired ruins everything before it does. We're very well acquainted with the awkward three seconds of silence, ruining everything. That is the life we're living right now. Anyway. Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox and Lisa could row whether she just jetted home after 60 ft. Away appearance on the show the awards, though, as they handed these out So I'm not sure how exactly this happened. If only the people who were actually getting the awards had people in has Matt suits outside their homes. No, it seems that Ah, they had everybody on standby like you'd have somebody in front of your house and has been with the award, but you might not win. So that way, everybody still kind of Were they holding? Just like a box. So you didn't know if there was any in it or not. Or that there were things that they were popping out of boxes, too. And that no one boxes that seemed really mean That was a really when I think, John Oliver, go when I have that mean here and you just pulled it up for you, too. Barrett. It pops open and there is it Pops open and and some confetti sprays out. Although that is right on the desk of his HBO set. Although I assume that that desk is in his garage, no, right. Cause that's where he's doing it from. So anyway. Nominees were all it remote locations, many in their own homes. Ah, they were doing the awards were delivered to those locations by people in has Matt suits, and they say someone had to be on hand for every so there was a guy hanging out in Has Matt suit whether you won or not, Some people actually took a visit. Do you have the Remmy use of dew? So this guy did not win in his category. Vinny and Ah, and there's the guy who has He's he's holding the little trophy. He's got the ones walking away having Oh, my God by you didn't win. All that's so sad, right? Well in some categories, all the nominees were given a box and then the winners boxwood Spring open and a hand holding the statue would pop out some They? Obviously a lot of people had to know that they did or didn't when I had a time. Other highlights her H e r her belt it out. Nothing compares to you. During the Emmys in Memoriam segment. Here's a little Since you've been gone ever. I can see whoever dinner in a fancy restaurant. Nothing can take away these blues. Come So she's playing piano, too. Way link that up with the Facebook page that people can see that isolated. Thank you. Ah, David Letterman got kicked out of an uber before presenting an award. I'm sure that wasn't set up. Celebrities revealed what they've been doing during the pandemic. Stop me if you have any of this stuff, Bernie Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington tried to skip 2020 skip to 2021 by ring in the New Year's Belle and her here. I watch Dave Letterman thing doesn't translate actually, wasn't it was? I don't know. It's the The New Year's party just wasn't I don't know It was well, you know, New Year's party with only two people is just not Doesn't feel New Year's Eve. They're saying The emotional highlight of the night was Tyler Perry's speech while accepting the governor's award. Um and then let me see if there's anything else here that I want to make sure that you I just have you have any questions about any categories Have all the categories here, I should, say Dave Chappelle, one for sticks and stones, best pre recorded variety special. Um, yeah, I don't have any questions, but I do. Look without trying to sound like I'm patting ourselves on the back because I'm not trying to do that. I give credit to anybody who's trying to do a show right now. Absolutely. It's a pain in the butt, and you'll see why they could absolutely see why they went through with it. But I could also see if they said not this year, everyone where does it go ahead? Mail you your prize and Here's the announcement work and that and the example the best example of it is that three The five second lag between the friends and less like Jesus. What is that? That's that's live. That's national TV. That's international TV right now. Well, that's you know, that's the world. We're living in pin, right? Everything sucks. The best variety sketch. Siri's went to Saturday night live and actually have a little bit of news about that. The full cast from last year is coming back this year. Usually there are at least some changes, and there were rumors that Kay McKinnon was going to leave. And she's got a career outside of this, but season 46 is starting October 3rd. And it's coming back to Rockefeller Center studio for the first time since the shutdown. They are going toe put all kinds of safety protocols in place, but it looks like we're going to get actual I'm sure will be no audience. But it will be live apparently, and that will happen there at their normal studio. So they say. The last time there was no caste turnover between seasons was 07 when the 33rd season began with the ensemble intact, So everybody who you liked last year and everybody who didn't like last year We'll be back. That season 46 in playing Joe Biden. On Saturday night Live will be Jim Carrey. Oh, wow, really adding a big name to play one of the candidates. Ah, it looks like You know, they're saying it's gonna happen Ah for the for the debut, but they're basically safe in the 46 season, which debuts October 3rd. I I I'm guessing that he's sort of signed on to participate this whole season. There's going to be a lot of Biden this season. So maybe they said we, you know, and we'll pay you and we'll put you up and you could be alone. Fancy shmancy penthouse in New York City. So they are adding three new featured players to their cast. They'll have a limited studio audience for the coming season, but it's going to it's going to happen. And Jim Carey is I'm looking at a side by side of the two of them with a little make up, I think Kind of like, I think his teeth are going to work. I think it's going to work October. 3rd is when the new season starts, and we'll get to see how Jim Carey does plan Joe Biden's I Love So It doesn't matter to me before you a break, sir. Do you want to hear Because the texture of accident about hers performance saying that you check out her guitar riff in the end? Oh, she jumped up from the piano and gets on the guitar playing the cameras. He had a guitar strapped to the back of her so Oh, Here we go. This's the show Chad with the, uh that was beautiful. I really like her. Yeah, That'll be a pithy ceremony. Facebook page. She played guitar when she came in and saying for us, right? She did. Yes, she was. That was that was lovely. Only her Her is her

"Right now for my guest Eugene, , Levy. . The world is just throwing awards and Garlands had his feet fifteen emmy nominations for shits. . Okay <hes> worse things can happen than people saying I love you. . <hes> reaction to this show has needless to say I mean just been. . Sensational, , and it's been kind of a tidal wave over the last couple of years in particular. . Will the irony here is that just when all this love is coming your way you and your son Dan decided no this the end now. . That's a too much good thing. . Now can't have too much of a good thing. . Yeah. . It was <hes> boy was actually the right you know in hindsight it was it was really the right decision because you know had we decided to go in and do another season been royally screwed this year. . It would have been bad I would call that a bad scene. . <hes> and <hes>. . Now it ended when it should have ended. . It was just you know everything just kind of made sense every story line you know completed itself in just a beautiful way and you know it's logic that has nothing to do with television and the entertainment industry. . Well, , you're absolutely right I mean you know if you if you think of the fact that you know there's money to be made <hes>. . Then, , you're right now we probably could have gone on for another. . Two three or however many years. . But you know it's <hes> what I call the law of diminishing returns. . It's you know it's you. . You can't. . I mean, , how do we talk what happened this year? We ? can't will never reach this kind of peak again with with fifteen emmy nominations that was just mind blowing. . So <hes> it ended at just the right time you know go out when the going's good each year in each season, , it just got better and funnier and more real and it just detached it's up to our hard well <hes>. . It it I well that you know I get a lot of credit to my son. . Dan I mean he really did a masterful job. . Guiding this thing to its final destination <hes> you know we started the show. . <hes> in the intention was to make a great character comedy. . You know when he came to me with the idea, , he said, , you know I want the same sensibility as you know, , you and Chris Guests had in your movies <hes>. . -Ly character work <hes> keeping it kind of real and grounded. . And I said well <hes>. . You've come to the right guy because that's that's all I believe in and that's all I. . Know and that's that's all I do get your laps through character and and and do everything you can to make. . The characters as credible as possible you want to get to a point where your audience has an emotional investment in the character and if that happens. . Then you know you can just take them on a a lovely kinda joyride through laughs and tears and everything else you can take many. . Right and then as the seasons kind of progress once we got the fish out of water scenario. . Out of the way in the first season and realize that they are going to be there for a while the Rose family <hes>, , then the focus was on relationships. . And character, , and we could settle for a bed without moving necessarily too much story but the fact is, , yes, , you and your son Dan Co created this you know in that spirit, , but he was the show runner young. . Was He. . Scary. . was He demanding with what goes on when you're the show runner? ? We hear stories by the mind by the time by the time. . I. . I handed the reins over to him which was I think the beginning of the third season. . <hes> I listen I could tell. . <hes> in the <hes> in the room and I was in the writer's room for the first <hes>. . To. . Two. . Plus. . <hes> seasons something I did not necessarily enjoy because. . I'm not used to a writer's room. . You know I mean all the writing I've done in my career has been either on my own. . For the most part I'm SETV I wrote on my own. . And I would write with a partner like Chris <hes> or or another friend of Mine John Hempel <hes> who I did a few things with up in Toronto who played Bob and chips Greg <hes>. . <hes> but being in a room where everybody's contributing to how the story moves was a little. . You know kind of unsettling i. . never quite got the grasp on that. . It now, , but he did and he was quite amazing in the Rome even in the very beginning <hes> trying to keep things on track and and taking it in a direction that ultimately proved to be the right direction. . So it was quite an incredible. . Experience for me to watch this growth and watch how rapidly he was developing into a great writer. . Let alone what he was doing on camera. . was also quite surprising to me, , but you know the whole experience. . Was Yeah was yes. . Oh, , so he gets. . The credit for this because he's done an amazing job for six years <hes> just great instincts as a writer and some very ballsy. . Decisions as a producer. . To make things are are right and also your daughter Sarah who's also in Shits Creek yes. . You see these kids suddenly become funny and become actors and begin to take on what you do did that freak you out or were you really happy about? ? Well I I certainly didn't encourage it <hes> and I- deep down was kind of happy about it because I understood it. . But. . You know in the beginning when they I know they did shows in high school. . <hes>. . And <hes> in when by the time they got to college university. . <hes> Dan went into kind of a film course and I, , thought well, interesting , he's got a thing he wants to be a director. . Put Films Together. . That's great. . And my daughter said she wanted to major in drama and I said, , really she said, , why are you surprised? ? I said because I know you did shows but I I've never heard you go on and on about how much he wanted to be an actor. . <hes>. . So she majored in Drama University and and we got to see her in her final year in some productions that was the only year. . The parents could go and see productions ride. . Vital. . Yes she was really <hes>. . Really quite good and I would watch your working her plays and and has watching him I'm I'm thinking to myself why her performances onstage are are so ripe for a camera. . But then then my son gets a job on MTV in Canada is vj when they started <hes> in Toronto whatever how many years ago now? ? And his work on camera was just incredible. . You know I mean what he was able to do his his <hes>. . Is. <hes> . improvising, , winging it you know personality coming through in a major way, and , then he started doing sketches and writing sketches and doing funny things that were really funny and I knew that he had a great I for this but nevertheless coming in to do a half hour. . Comedy. . Character driven. . That's a whole different. . You know <hes> animal and I I. . I did everything, , I could to get the show on the air. . When he brought me this germ of an idea. . <hes> a rich family losing their money <hes>. . and Lo and behold we. . We did

Creek on I don't think you could go anywhere these days Eugene Canyon with people just saying we love you. . We Love You love you you. . Well. . It's the worst things can happen. ? We hear stories by the mind by the time by the time. . I. . I handed the reins over to him which was I think the beginning of the third season. . <hes> I listen I could tell. . <hes> in the <hes> in the room and I was in the writer's room for the first <hes>. . To. . Two. . Plus. . <hes> seasons something I did not necessarily enjoy because. . I'm not used to a writer's room. . You know I mean all the writing I've done in my career has been either on my own. . For the most part I'm SETV I wrote on my own. . And I would write with a partner like Chris <hes> or or another friend of Mine John Hempel <hes> who I did a few things with up in Toronto who played Bob and chips Greg <hes>. . <hes> but being in a room where everybody's contributing to how the story moves was a little. . You know kind of unsettling i. . never quite got the grasp on that. . It now, , but he did and he was quite amazing in the Rome even in the very beginning <hes> trying to keep things on track and and taking it in a direction that ultimately proved to be the right direction. . So it was quite an incredible. . Experience for me to watch this growth and watch how rapidly he was developing into a great writer. . Let alone what he was doing on camera. . was also quite surprising to me, , but you know the whole experience. . Was Yeah was yes. . Oh, , so he gets. . The credit for this because he's done an amazing job for six years <hes> just great instincts as a writer and some very ballsy. . Decisions as a producer. .

"So I ask you a few quick questions about Being on a body. Oh Yeah I've I've never spoken to Something lives on a body before. Yeah Oh right. It's it's neat cause I live out of body but I am part of Danny's body now I part of the body now And the skin is always changing. And you know I'm deep in it. I'M INC but I'm also now part of the cellular structure of Danny And it's wild. Yeah the first time that I felt goosebumps I saw them happen on his arms and he looked at his arms and And and they started raising skin and I was like what's happening and then it felt like I was more three D. Than I've ever been like. It was just like all of a sudden I was bigger and buffer that I ever have been before and I'm like. Whoa what's this like? Each of those bumps was like another muscle that was on me and I felt bigger. It's interesting because you know for human goosebumps are often part of fear but for you. It's like almost the opposite strong. Yeah because it's like from what I've seen in. You know some of the movies that he watches. It feels like you know the rash that some of these drivers have and the fast and furious franchise or like. I would assume that it's similar till like cocaine like it was like I was stronger. Invincible for short amount of time. Do you ever wish you were one of those like tougher kind of Tattoo. I see these other tattoos because for the first couple of years Danny and I would go back to a tattoo parlor with other people because they'd also want one and they knew.

"The earliest memory I have is Just kind of hearing screaming and I'm just like is this because of me and I'm just like you know I'm feeling the pressure and it's this constant kind of like tapping pressure which now in in my longer life. I'd I realize where a bunch of needles that were you know connecting me to Danny. My name is Eugene. I'm a Tattoo I Shaped and look much like the DreamWorks Character Shrek. Okay so you're you're tattoo fat to trek. Yeah and if if you look right at The base of my smile You can see In in a ribbon that it says. Show me the money in a couple of money signs. If I'm if I'm not mistaken show me the money. Yes Nada No. It's not a Shrek phrase as I also found out. never Been around to watch the entire film. usually covered up During film watching which makes sense and what. What can you tell me about the person on which you live out? Danny Danny's great You know Been with them sixteen years now but I am a predominantly on his left His heart When we became partners initially When I was born created however you see life You know we were excited guy. He was he was happy. I think he was surprised of how painful I was going to be. also I think he was convinced by the artist that I should be bigger. So you could see more of the detail I think Danny he overestimated the love ability of Shrek but to his heart. Think it's not. How does it feel knowing that to come into the world you have to cause a person? Pain I don't really think about it that much in that regard because I'm just like I mean isn't that what you went through and I mean that's what humans go through. You caused your mother pain when you came out and I think it was pretty similar. I guess yeah we are. Yeah we're the same in that way that neither of US could exist without pain. Yeah there's a lot of pain. It's interesting when you meet somebody with a baby. Yes you never say to them. Did it hurt to get that? But you do say that to somebody with a tattoo. Let's be honest If you can remember what it was like when you were being born if anything you just remember people screaming people in all when you appeared somebody with gloves on touching you. It really is similar. A lot of Goop I think about a baby Like my wife is pregnant right now. Congratulations thank you The baby's kicking lot. Wow and I think that there's something so interesting it's like the neal needles from the inside And I think it's so interesting that that she is aware of every single thing the baby does you know right. I just think about how you you are constantly with this. Yeah no yeah me and Danny are fully connected and Yeah the journeys together And you know th there's Times where He'll forget about me but You know I can't forget about him Just because I'm I hear his heart beating you know in a in a not. So great time there was times where He is with his other partner and He's been with this partner for out say Roughly a six ish years and And I remember a moment where We were in the bathroom And we were both looking into the mirror and he clocked her Makeup and And was just trying to see what it would look like if he you know covered me up with that. Wow which was to. I mean it was really short. He J- you know because maybe he realized that like it might be silly for him to do that all the time but you know that was the first real moment that I was just like. Wow he might not want me around you know You know but I think the saving grace is that his damage partner. Grace thinks that I'm cute when you saw in the mirror. Yeah Denny's chest covered up with makeup. What it looked like to you. I saw. It's weird to feel like you're you're gone and in a weird way it also got me in the head space of what every time. He wears a shirt or puts a sweater on top of a shirt. Or whatever and we'd got side in wouldn't feel that cold I mean maybe that's just him dressing appropriately for the weather so that I wasn't cold but you know it made me think like is this what he's doing. Every time he puts clothes in his trust. Trying to make me disappear for the day. It will say people do just social norms. Just kind of you need to wear shirts. Yeah no I understand that as a concept but at the time when he was putting the makeup on me I felt like that's what he was always trying to do. I feel the regret from Dami a little bit. Yeah a lot of it. I have a friend who he got a tattoo and that tattoo artist. The Tattoo kind of went wrong. Wow how does your friend feel about the Tattoo? Hello Hebron it's in. Hey how's IT Goin'? Ian All right. It's Weird. It's a weird time honestly. It is a weird time. I'm calling because I wanNA talk about your Tattoo I don't know. Can you just tell the story of of the Tattoo? I've always loved the Odyssey and for some reason I got it in my mind that I might want to get this Just the word a deceased. Yeah it busiest. It's was rich enough of a subject for for me to that. I felt like I could just look down at his at his name and go to places that I wanted to go so I found a very reputable tattoo artist and went to the studio. We talked about. It seems simple enough. She said next week. We'll do the tattoo next week so I went the next week. Oh I should say that. The before left prior week he had written down a dishes and spelled it wrong so I reminded him I. I wrote it down to listen. This is actually how you so the dishes like. Oh God I'm so sorry absolutely not a problem back the next week so what he had. It was spelled correctly and he started and Meanwhile we started talking about conversation about bad tattoos. It was a great conversation. 'cause he said Tattoos from his point of view. Tattoos were something that showed a record of where you were at an exact instant in time and if it was actually there was no such thing as a bad tattoo. It's still part of the story of your life so we finished it up. It didn't take very long and when I got home my wife immediately asked to see the Tattoo. And then just showed her without thinking and had a strange look on her on her face she started really kind of acting nervous and she she said. I have to tell you something and it might make you very upset. I looked down and I saw that. It was spelled O. D. D. Y. S. E. U. S. So it's so it's wrong to twice. Its it's not just the extra D it's the. Yeah subtracted S. S. Yeah yeah already seuss. The shoes does does it hard if you think back to that conversation with the Tattoo artists and think that maybe he looked down after drawing the second D and was like friend. What do you think about bad tattoos? Because I think they're fine. I actually like the conversation that we we had. I don't it stuck in my mind. Well this this must mean something. It gives me a sense of perspective and yet reminds me of why I was inspired to get that tattooed on my arm in the first place. I actually prefer that. It's it's the my own personal odyssey's.

"Yeah I mean I guess it's funny because to me Julian I still do stood lots of stuff together so I see that is ending. You know but we'll probably still do events and we'll probably still do shows and you know we will probably start a small comedy record label And maybe do a podcast or you know other projects together so I see that as you know ending because that's you know it's like I'm still friends with with people from with my closest friends are still from college even though colleges over that doesn't mean that like none of can talk interact so. I do think that the community that was fostered in in in that time and in Brooklyn exists and I'm close friends with many of those people in many of those people came and visited Us in Somerville and in the last you know months of Katie's life and would come here often to the Cape and hang out so I think like obviously things move on but it isn't like a clear like will know more jokes now. Now now we live on Cape Cod and we hunt fish. And we're very serious like I. Julia lives an hour from here in closer slightly than that to me in Somerville and so we'll continue to do things and you know me and my friends Matt and Christian Who made the album in twenty fifteen are starting to work on like kids stuff other projects together so I think like You you know. Find ways to work with people and continue to do stuff. That's enjoyable. I mean mostly what's been through line for me is working on projects with friends and I'm continuing to do that though. It is true that I probably won't put on the Eugene Mirman comedy festival in Brooklyn Eugene. Thank you so much for taking the time to be on Bullseye. It was nice to get to talk to you again. "Point. Six percent of the popular vote that year. We're talking big structural change structural Chan. I just WanNa know how he got all the socialist groups together under one banner so okay. Someone's yelling at me on facebook right now. I will read it to you. People's Front of Medicare for all not Medicare for all those which banner is the good team in which banners hate us so much so there's only two better I mean that's what's happening right now but if the banner is imperfect you could pretend that there are no banners. That's actually my God. That's right I like Thomson. Yeah but you don't you don't What we're Dennis crazy socialist policies. Well chances are. We wouldn't recognize them as socialist just like a person from Sweden doesn't think their healthcare is from a Marxist Utopia. He's pushing for the forty hour workweek. He wants to enact child labor. Long days as a guitar kids he wanted people to have some kind of recourse. When they were injured on the job he wanted the right to a union. It was a socialist. Halley was pushing for social okay so he wanted people to be allowed to compete freely in the labor market. That's weird 'cause that sounds super capitalist. Okay I mean Pharisees over. The last two were still not real solid on those. That's not what I'm saying now. When he ran he wasn't trying to win. He knew like Andrew Yang that he had no fucking chance of winning instead he just wanted to bring attention to inequality in their horrific clash struggle in the US. I'll point out before Yang Ran. We laughed about universal basic income. To right now we laugh at it and we associated with the time of fortnight streamer ran for president. You remember when w fixed the economy by giving everyone three hundred dollars a republican does it. It's a stimulus. I still have that check frame. Not hundred stimulate anything fuck as a socialist. He was for Racial Equality. Which for a lot of people back then was a bitter pill to swallow and it's also still like that. He felt like I think that really separated. People was economic class and the rest of the things we focused on. Were all made up to help. Do the separating deb said this about the employer class quote. I am opposing a social order in which it is possible for one man who does absolutely nothing that is useful to amass a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars while millions of men and women who work all the days of their lives secure barely enough for wretched existence and quote. Yeah okay so just be clear. I love Eugene v debs but I've also read some slightly different accounts about the racial stuff. Some authors are saying. Well you know this white guy from the eighteen. Hundreds actually been a little bit racist. Deb's ended up supporting workers rights for everyone but according to some of these theories that was only because having the black workers in a lower status would make it easier for management to exploit the white workers specifically so landed on unequality via white power. Which isn't great. Oh Neat like that Nazi. Last week at Bernie's Rally I. I'm a little confused but like that management was having a hard time exploiting workers before this. I mean like they needed help. There is such a thing as too much lube right. I mean at some point. That's just a lie strong now. You're making a mess in nineteen o five. He took part in the founding of the I. W W which is the international workers of the world. This is another labor union that combined people that worked in the same trades as well as people who worked in the same industry debs ran again for president in one thousand nine hundred four got three percent of the popular vote which is over four hundred thousand votes in one thousand nine hundred eight. He did he did it again again. Four hundred thousand votes three percent of the overall popular vote all. Yeah poet in those sweet Tulsi Gabbard numbers now train and more than four times as many people as showed up physically to greet him when he left. That's what I'm saying. Oh man it was a dystopia back then to write in in one thousand nine hundred twelve. The inclusion of the Socialist Party in the presidential race really started to pay off some of the other people that were running were Teddy Roosevelt and liberals and they started adopting some of the socialist policies to lure voters their side. Many of the Labor issues of the day were being addressed around this time. Fine okay fine. We'll go down to an eighty hour work week and if your kid gets stuck in the gears the machines will slow it down so you can recover the bodies. Why did you put a on your kid that way? You can just pull them out when he goes with the film. I want all the pieces. Whatever their backpack on them. This is a really good year for the Socialists. Locally the socialist one thousand representatives from around the country and over three hundred socialist mayors deb's gets almost six percent of the popular vote almost a million people. It's incumbent William. Taff only received three point five million votes also just to let you know that election. The Democrats secured forty-one percent of the vote the Republicans got twenty three percent and the Progressive Party. Not The Socialist Party received twenty seven percent of the vote and more electoral states than Republican make America great again ranked choice voting. Kuma Tei sorry thousand. I'm sorry saying good ideas that will never happen. You do yours but seriously ranked choice voting like we I. It's the two party system. Goes away overnight and we have like a bunch of good candidates and we get the rank them and pick the best one. What the Fuck Yeah? We're doing awesome with the pick your favorite guy system so we should complicate it. I agree it complicates our we. You don't need primaries with ranked choice voting okay but what we should do is just introduced legislation that the two existing parties have to vote on in order to okay. It's not a shelter. Yeah I it. In nineteen fourteen. The first World War breaks out and the Socialists who were fucking baller at organizing have their own press bunch equality minded leaders there are one hundred percent against involvement and they are dead set on protesting entering the war and the draft itself. There's like okay if you think the government didn't care about your safety when you're at home you alone was going to happen next. Yup and for three years and the other socialist protested the war but in nineteen seventeen. Congress passed the Espionage Act which made it a crime to convey information with the intent to interfere with the operation or success the armed forces the United States or promote the success of its enemies. This was punishable by death or by imprisonment for not more than thirty years or both. Damn who knew telling people about student. Loan forgiveness was a war crime. Put to death and then hype you and I didn't know what trump stirs twister. When you little? No no no. No no no. No no no put a giant helmet on you put you on a donkey facing backwards into the desert a whole thing in Ohio. The next year DEB's gives an anti war speech in direct defiance of the law. Here's part of DEB's antiwar speech quote and here let me emphasize the fact and it cannot be repeated too often that the working class who fight all the battles the working class who make all the supreme sacrifices the working class who freely shed their blood and furnish the corpses have never had a voice in either declaring war or making peace it is the ruling class that invariably does both they alone declare war and they alone make peace and quote. Stop resisting Eugene's Yep Book. If the workers made the rules than they would just be the ruling class the whole thing would start over. You May as well pair. Don't plagiarize from Ben Shapiro like that. What is wrong with you so anyway? This land stabs in jail he charged with ten counts of violating the espionage act. He was tried and the defense called. No witnesses instead. Deb's gave the closing argument. Quote your honor. Years Ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings and I made up my mind than that. I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth I said then and I say now that while there is a lower class I am in it and while there is a criminal element I am of it and.

"Vegetables we can fuck priority is true so deb's is involved in the Burlington railroad strike of eighteen. Eighty eight interesting. Railroad workers demanded higher air of Burlington Seniority Rights and grievance procedures. The workers did strike but the railroad brought in the Pinkerton hired scabs and broke. The strike in a month in in the wake of this steps leaves the Brotherhood and starts one of the first industrial unions in the United States. The American Railway Union and its first year in eighteen ninety four they successfully got demands met for the workers. During the Great Northern Railway Strike I love demands was grievance to like one of their big complaints was. They had no good way to complain. I've gotta fix that. Yeah they got a suggestion. Box Out of it was in eighteen. Ninety four DEB's became involved with the PULLMAN strike pullman train cars were plush sleeper train cars they were made in a factory town just south of Chicago and when I say factory town I mean. The factory owned the town like Chris. Watkins Mining Town in the rundown the greatest action movie of all time to Jerry. You are you fucking kidding. Me Roadhouse or like why blood sport what he doesn't use guns at the Matrix anything with Gary Busey. Are you serious dairy abuses lead? The town was supposed to be some kind of capitalists wet dream people lived in the town and shop at the stores and worked at the factory there but the company rented the home sold the Food and pay the workers after recession hits the company slashes wages but they don't slash the cost of of room and board. That's crazy now. We call that. The economy could strike. How well we'll find out now. You can argue that. The deal sucked hardcore prior to the wage cut pullman. Rents were high. The wages were low and the hours were abundant but after the recession he cut wages forty percent and this in addition to not lowering costs caused the strike. So these workers joined dabs new union and they tried to convince the owner to make some changes. They eventually walk off the job in. May He's like all right all right. You guys can have forty dollars. Raise side note unrelated. Rents going up forty bucks this data so this strike actually had a huge ripple effect on the economy all across the nation see. This was an industrial union. Meaning all the people in the industry that were part of the union were involved in the strike. All the workers boycotted all the railroads that use pullman car so trains all over the country ground to a halt. Few WEEKS SLATER THOUGH GROVER CLEVELAND. That was the president of the time called in the National Guard. They clashed with the strikers. All across the nation a bunch of trains derailed properties damaged. Many people are injured in thirty people. Die The papers. Of course blame all this on the workers. And specifically on Eugene debs okay. I Love Union striking so much for all the obvious reasons but I think my favorite is how it stood peak of passive aggressive. Like I mean like the literal meaning of words each separately like super passive but super aggressive and National Guard. Guys COME IN. They try to break it up and they have to be like stop nothing gang. What are we doing a little baby Ronald Reagan taking notes at this point Ronald Reagan the US government eventually stops in stop the strike claiming that it's obstructing us mail and it's good news and bad news for depths? The good news is that there's a period of major unrest in the United States because of the pullman strike so they make a new National Holiday Labor Day. Bad News is DABS and seven others are brought up on charges of conspiracy for their participation tabs was defended at that trial by Clarence. Darrow was just as successful as he was during the scopes monkey. Trial DABS get. Six months in jail leans over a clearance. Not Trying to tell you how to do your job but the part three asked my boss. If the Bible was true in feel sued not great. Deb spent time in jail. Jail sounds actually really really nice. He's in a nice jail in woodstock which is acute small town in Northern Illinois as a comfy bed he gets the sheriff's family for dinner gets visitors has plenty of time for reading and reflection. Nice okay ill. When you read that and I'm thinking like man jail significant lifestyle up. We've maybe done society wrong. External like my life except you know a little bit north of here so while in jail minutes Nellie bly who interviews him and he realizes that maybe capitalism isn't super great and quote. It was said that a friend left a copy of DAAS. Kapital and prisoner debs read it slowly eagerly ravenously unquote okay. That part sounds like a penthouse letter. That does not sound like how you read. Copy can be both well like a penthouse letter. It's probably allies. Tabs emerged from jail. At the end of his sentence a changed man he would spend the final three decades of his life proselytizing for the socialist cause now the cause of the inspiration might not be accurate and some people attribute his socialism to other authors. But he definitely was a socialist when he walked out of the jail. Well see those really putting together a folk song on his guitar and Harmonica Rig. So we'RE GONNA WE'RE GONNA take a quick break for some apropos of nothing. All right everyone please. Rise FOR THE EIGHTEEN. Seventy Presidential Elections. Most of us don't know about germs. So this is very very silly. We recognize the speaker from Missouri. Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen I represent the scoot scoot part and all those things used to play on in gym class like a like a roller skate. That you sat on your parachute game anyway. Vote for me. Murray all right good. Excellent speech excellent and now the candidate from the new territory of Manitoba at Creole. Thank you good evening. Everyone sorry Mexico just took us back over. Never mind at all right all right. Enjoy Mexico fantastic next. I don't know the Republican. We are the good guys now. But we're going to do a weird switcher roofing in the fifties so being look up. That should be lots and lots of fun. All right. Well Gentlemen Gentlemen because that's who can vote. You have your candidates. Go ahead and vote if you know how to write and We'll meet up here in four years and we'll do this again. Sound good everyone Lamar Order Park. And we're back. When we left off Eugene v DEBS was leaving jail growing a match behind him and walking away in slow motion with a giant explosion behind him in the background. So what happens next? I reminds me of the rundown like where walking slow motion movie. Anyway the point that's amazing the pullman strike actually gets him some great publicity so much so that when he leaves jail six months later a hundred thousand people come to see him at the Chicago train. Station earm- speak and welcome him back into society after this. He realizes that he needs to start a political party. And this my friends is white. Tick Tock will be a political party by talk. Deb's traveled across the country and spoke to crowds hungry for some equality. There were actually a lot of socialist groups back then and DABS was suggested as the presidential nominee for the nineteen hundred presidential election. He of course would only agree if the disparate socialist parties. Join together under one banner..

"He's not no. That's right that's right here. He is haunting Europe. He'll be back some amazing communism references in there. The Manifesto Survey got it. We tried to make one. He got all the people that were wrong. It's you know from each according to his ability. And it's not even from the network this is from the critique of the program. It's fine marks. That's already fighting you on twitter in radio. Line Buddy all right. Let's get right into it. He Li- tell us what person place thing concept phenomenon or event. Are we GONNA be talking about today? Well thanks to fantastic patron Andrew. Andrew suggested no fewer than three times. We cover Eugene. V debs excellent rape pick. My aunt is actually named after Eugene. V debs Debra Debra pretty cool and see. So you're obviously a nine. Th level secret agent of the corporate overlords. Are you ready to tell us about an amazing socialist icon but with subliminal shades of sabotage throughout? Look I'm just saying with all the claiming of other people's Shit. This guy's name should have been Eugene. Dibbs that's right. So what is the origin? Story of Bernie Sanders Sapin ten years before Bernie. Sanders is boy. It's really close. Beginning of time. I just want to announce right at the beginning. I Love Bernie Sanders. Actually I think we all need to get that out just so people to eight male. Sanders is fucking fantastic. Don't like the job I it's fine go ahead. He's Jewish critique. Okay all right guys. I want you guys to sit back for a second. Imagine if you can a time when the United States was plagued by incredible wealth inequality where workers had few rights where people were exploited on a daily basis. We're the working class. Felt as if they had no voice where people quickly fell into debt and poverty. I know this sounds like science fiction while I'm here to tell you that there was a time just like this in American history as wacky. As that sounds that time it happened only once and we got a lot better since then. We've not had any problems since you know probably fix it was a youth led. Revolution of eleven percent of the available electric. That's washed also loves Bernie. Sanders is how you get a sense of the young people. Eleven percent really came out. In higher numbers to youth led revolution going to win. Eight did not lead to real sad realty guys here. We go in all seriousness. The labor laws and workers rights of the turn of the twentieth century were fucking abysmal. This is before forty hour work weeks this before weekends off paid time off child labor laws and really so many other things that we take for granted in today's workplace it was during that time that the unions and labor strikes and the socialist help pave the way and this week show is about one very famous socialist that ran for president four times or never once had to get into a fistfight at a brokered convention. Well I think what peaceful saying is we are all very much hoping to watch Tulsi Gabbard get punched in the face by domination at the convention. I see so what I'm hearing you say is to down to to go ask right. Great of Tulsi. Gabbard comes out on stage and she had cut Hillary Clinton's face off and she's wearing like the rest of the land. Yeah you gotTA happen. If should cut Hillary Clinton's face off. Okay OUR STORY STARTS IN. Terre Haute Indiana in eighteen fifty five gene. Daniel and Marguerite deb's emigrate from the L. Saas region of France and have five children. One of them is named after their favorite authors. Eugene sue and Victor Hugo Snow Eugene Victor Deck. No I'm picturing the confrontation from lame is but it's burning Biden. That's all I can see right now. We're once again asking for your financial. I must thank me mad. You know you're not gonNA keep going got. Where do I begin? We're not doing it. No Bernie Z. I I know you're Eugene V. Show I quit. I quit at the age of fourteen DABS drops out of school and becomes a painter for the railroad painting and scraping paint from railroad cars. It just stories that he used his first two days of wages to buy a paint scraper and I know any cap. That paid scraper is prized possession. Until he died which says a lot about both workplace equipment availability and prized possessions around eighteen seventy opted for one that wasn't like diamond plated. He would have been an three months. Ages is fucking engagement ring. Not a paint scrape Eugene Eugene by the one that's seen on TV Bhagwan after a few years working as a painter. He climbed the corporate ladder one or the other employees on the road. A locomotive firemen misses work. Because he's drunk so deb's steps up and starts doing that work which consisted of shoveling coal into a raging furnace on a steam powered locomotive. That ran between Tara and Indianapolis clearly one of the circles of Hell Indiana. I mean listen. You really hate the end. So did you say what you will about the eighteen seventies but calling dibs is a pretty cool way to get a new job right not here today. I'm the fire guy now. True Story Indiana still smells like that train fire to this changed that and methane absolutely God. After a few years on the horrific job he decides to change professions and starts working at a grocery warehouse available at four. He took the shoveling. Coal is. I don't know exactly what was on. Monster DOT com back. Tom Glasgow glass door was literally just a glass door to your office. And then he killed you. Eighteen seventy five dubs join the Brotherhood of locomotive firemen and became active in the organization in the next few years. He's adding their monthly magazine serving their delegate for his chapter at the National Convention wasn't even working as a fireman at this time he just like the people I guess and these Brotherhood assist. We're not like the unions today. They were more like social clubs anyway. Oh okay so like a teacher's Union. Teachers brotherhoods focused on building community among the workers. Rather than leveraging their collective bargaining they viewed labor and capital as friends so labor striking was at this point looked down upon by the Brotherhood and by himself. And you can hardly blame him. Strikes back done could turn deadly. When strikers clashed with malicious many strikes ended with rioting and mass destruction a quote from Wikipedia here quote the Brotherhood had never authorized a strike from its founding in eighteen. Seventy three to eighteen eighty seven a record which dubs was proud of and quote right and I totally get it. Joe Biden voted several times during that stretch to murder the striking unions with militias bill better than trump. That's very important and he doesn't remember it. I don't know why you guys are mad at okay. Don't don't do that. That knows. Striking record is like a weird thing to be proud of. It's like we haven't used the nuclear option in fourteen years by okay. That's not time it's all I'm saying at this point deb's wonders if this is really the right way to affect change in the world and decides briefly to instead pursue a job in the government as a politician in late eighteen seventy served as city clerk and then in eighteen eighty. Four he began. He became the State Representative for Indiana's General Assembly. But after one term he decided not to run again. Dabs joined the legislature. All bright eyed and bushy tailed with plans to help labor and push for women's rights but was appalled by the vote trading and dealing that went on it. Sounds like it. Ruined his idea how the government works so he gave it up and went back to organizing labor. I mean it taught him about how the government during the next. Several years Labor clashed with business. All over the United States the haymarket bombing took place in Eighteen. Eighty six when the police attacked a peaceful rally worker responded by throwing dynamite at the police so not not entirely peaceful. They brought dying like bouquet. I I guess I wrote that sentence battling I think it happened at two separate days came. Yeah now the police came over. Beat the Shit budget in the next day. They'll eat some dynamite motherfucker in law. Yeah Han Shot First Han shot first. That's all I'm saying. No it's true. They did so anyway. That could probably be its own episode and in eighteen eighty six there was the bay view massacre when the National Guard fired on fourteen thousand striking workers. It should probably be its own episode. Two in eighteen ninety two there was the homestead massacre in Pennsylvania. Where the Pinkerton killed steel workers on strike in? That should probably be you guys know what I'm saying. Okay but if we did all those somehow could fit in all the essays about Internet rumors and.

"Kissed on the Cheek. Like a sweet little friend. Yeah and I offer me this thing right here. This shows growth and Eugene and it shows a maturity as far as them like bonding fixing the relationship. But they've been slowly kind of repairing the relationship. 'cause do gene was really really strong really hurt and I think that Now he's Kinda move one which is kind of what she wanted. She was like I I. I'm your friend but I don't want you romantically guy to support you. I just don't desire you like that. I think for the first time ever. They actually have a friendship agree. I don't think it was a friendship before it is. I think this was a nice guy. Quote Unquote felt entitled to Fucker. Because he had been nice and she was pretty and you know he had been even when he was doing stuff with her when they would have to like satellite when they first went into those whispers like the whole time he was like you know talking bad about Gabe and trying to shoot his shot and shit this dirty MAC. And so you know to me. I always looked at Jane. Kinda like he's a coward cower with a lot of you know like underhanded shit that he does you know during the war to save us. He was on the wrong side. I you know so for a long time and I don't think I I mean so. I think she knew he wouldn't kiss her. I think she knew like you. He's he's clearly heart seeking in love with this girl and I think that's the only reason she asked like. Do you want to kiss me? Go ahead and to prove the him like Nigga you love girl now go go go right That's what I think happens because I don't think he really was going to let him light. You know work on his game where her whatever but yeah. It was an interesting situation. Then we get think this is where Oh yeah okay. Yes so this actor at the chaplains eat down. Getting some cut up care goes she. Goes TO TALK TO LYDIA LYDIA THEIR MIND Business Lydia. Look Lillian Looking. Like just leave me alone on waiting to go fight against my. Mama's whore lie. This is also the benefit of having a fan base. That's not a rabid ridiculous angry toxic fan base for because something like that. That's how I wanted to handle right. I don't want them to show me that We're like you know if this was like. The game of thrones fan base. If like why are they speeding things up? Why didn't they showed his so? He just noticed all of a sudden. It's like it don't really matter is not that. Ogden DONALD THIS IS NOT GONNA fucking derail. The goddamn storyline write. The script needed this negative. No so we can have this conversation. Really people talk to people all the time without people seeing it come on. Yeah but yes. So he was like. Yeah I heard about the craving and it was your fault and Shit but you can't just be sitting here alone. Also made sense that he would be the one to go check on her and to notice it was at Daryl's old abandoned because remember he. He wanted to go kill himself and went off alone as though he say he was worried about. Carol and I was like yeah he probably own frame of mind she going to be in but you know nobody really should be alone like this right now especially the way she got to be feeling like. Shit right in his one of those things to to wear He batted got offended if she's feeling alone. You know what I'm saying because it's one of those things where Lily. Everybody just walked away from her. Like eight all. We're trying to process this. We we we ain't got time to kind of figure out what the fuck you're all right now because we're in this situation because of us let us get out of this situation in the form groups and move on from there. Yeah and then the other thing too is Light Carol can take care of herself by herself. Right it's not a matter that but she got a feeling so fucking bad. Of course like that's it was her fault one hundred like she's over there like you know like not even telling with their. I even think the place he went to jail is a sign of that connection the Darrow. That she's missing. Of course you know like she went to the spot where he was at you know when she went to find him. You know and Darryl was not about to go find her he's going to go find. Connie magnetic correct Kelly asked Luke EMECO. Kelly is Connie sister. Kelly twisted her ankle last time Well two episodes ago and she wants to go by her sister. They're back to your topic. Why we need to go back out there and FI Khania magna and Luke Amigos. Why we're going to ask locked up. Look what the fuck you think you do out there. You barely made it back. Yeah you GONNA slow us down. And she's like my sister. I'm going and before they really can even like get into this shit. Meco basically says they probably did anyway. Which like I. I can't think of a moral thing to say to Kelly light. I don't I don't know if it's because last time she saw magnet argued. But like how do you ain't got nothing to do with that like talking to you? Know what I mean I I was like okay. Like what does he say like? She's like probably dating. Somebody's I wanNA call you what I don't like magnet that much either. Jesus Christ like. That's the sister. My Kelly was going to swing back but Kelly didn't kept it. She kept it real class. Yes she did So then Darryl pools. And he's like yes. So Mia Lydia. Their Lydia's Darryl on the motorcycle and they're like you know like so. Did y'all go looking. Cave is a cave in. What's going on a? We didn't make it that far And their leaders like my mom coming right so whenever man's Y'all got spoke them So outta bushy can can go to the sideline right now right then. I can't believe that this is the solicitor ordained meet-and-greet here. Either people are overcautious Virginia. I'm in Virginia. He went all the way out. All now there's GonNa be a long time. Eugene I hear like my. Pin Number is four five nine five. Just go ahead and put it in man. He can't wait to meet this woman. Here's the back exit so you can get by the Gods. I wonder what they found exile like. I'm taking now say pantalone and previously engorge member is are standing Brighton firm Ararat over light meter. Read you the periodic table. If I'm even pronounce never I love the rescue. That little man in the boat if you know what I mean my mandible if if if you can understand the department our light to make your H. Two. Oh if you know what I mean what the Hell I really learned to get down there. And maybe Take all that tight. T know because it tight tight thank. The ball's not mean over. I think he caught himself because he said that ship before he thought about it. And then he's just like fuck I say as she didn't stay like other like got the son of a bitch way right Simba's ABC scenario as how we can safely face to face. You pick the day in the neck of the woods perch ourselves out of stock at the eyeball to did you audio's yourself easy. Peasy trump is Stephanie. Are very much like to meet you. Take you out to the Buddha buffet. Really Talk to my people do the thing. No don't tell anyone what my people say i. We'll do waterloo. I promise I wonder what race death me is over the phone. You know because I can't really tell I feel like she got a real Ambiguous voice like she could be a black man. She could be why anybody she could be anything. Like what are you? What Eugene low key racist and didn't meet up in he'd be like Oh. I didn't know you were going to be the darker. Persuasion this several car complications in our romanticism. But you know what I like. My chocolate must be jelly jam. Don't shake like that. You must've needs and burdette because you kinda dig a Eugene might be you know and love here are feeling some type of way about about a Stephanie. I believe is a day so you know. Look nothing's better than two kids all right Outside early and often are working on offense and that's when they look out and they see the crew from Alexandria with Gamma Intel. And you know. I think Mary's a name and they don't know her And that old man is on a wrecking crew of a fuck. All them people like no fuck them. Well not just that but all the communities are on that friendship right no. They weren't even friends with each other for a long time which allowed them to be infiltrated but ranked. You know they do after that. The way to the whispers did that attack that killed all those people and attacked him from the inside and then with Dante infiltrating I feel like everybody is getting a and that was the whole point to make everybody question. Everything to foot the crumble. Everybody's getting the corona virus light. Yeah they're like I don't know you. Let's take a look at this. You look a little too familiar. Look to new. So they're basically like who is this woman and then they go down there and they question They start questioning what's happening now. Here's a question I have do. You think out in Earl are running. Hilltop now. Wouldn't be surprising. Because if you think about the amount of turnover this worse than the trump administration Maggie Tower Jesus like and Lily have no leader. What did I do they kill? They hung him. Greg Gregory Gregory. Yes Oh yeah you have all these people that I mean? They can't keep a job over there so I wonder if this is supposed to be like okay all the earlier entire charge. It wouldn't be surprised because Jesus don't Jesus but you don't want to jump right. Maggie left right because the thing is technically Ezekiel actually should be running. Because he's probably has the most experienced that everybody but you know she'd have them before and he just froze and backed up so I think I also have that terminal thyroid cancer so he may not feel like he should be leading. That's true but I think the intern is Magma Magna Magna you think so. Yeah Magnus her but Miko go is I knew there. She probably will be running. I think she was kind of the tipperary intern but nobody really is going to give her that respect so it has to be some out of it has actually been there for a while so the other reason. I bring this up is in early. Autumn are in charge. That actually is a little bit scary for hilltops because both of those mother fuckers had the women killed in that attack. Aided and Tammy died in an attack and so of course they're the most on edge of no new friends negus. I don't give a fuck what you just say. Fuck you get the fuck out my face and they each and four fight with maybe discretion would be the better part of valour. They like Nah not new. I I want to smoke. So which makes sense because they say early and working overtime making all these weapons and yeah he probably going super-motivated any a single daddy now to come on So yeah in the woods Zeke. Fis Carol moping Daryl's abandoned and he asked me to come back to hilltop or does he just GonNa sit out there with their and see the south in and and look like maybe she'll come back with them. Yeah I heard what happened..

Episodes left this morning star And as always can start off before we start recapping and I'll ask you in general what you think about this episode. I actually really liked this episode I like to pay thin. I like the way it was shot and the when I thought it was GONNA end. They actually gave me more and I'm glad they did because I think that if the ocean one would have had it they would've ended at a certain point and dismayed you next week. Yeah Now this was a cliffhanger ending. Kinda you know I enjoyed it as well. I think I enjoyed it more to second time. I watch it. I think the first time I watched it. I was just anticipating so much shit going down and ours. It was all over the place to me and all this stuff but then when I watched it the second time man they told so much story in such a short period at Ta Cram so my in the short period of time. They advanced characters like it was like. Yeah you got this war going on but there are actually things. The individual people's lives like storylines. They've kind of hit hit some of the season and kind of you can see it for episode or two but they kinda wrapped a lot of things up and you know they going into the battle. I like the fact that they continued on into the battle and didn't just break like I thought they were. Yeah and also Another thing I liked was they only really went to one location right so it was a very linear episode now. Might not be the kind of episode. Where it's GonNa take a long time to recap but a lot did happen And they showed US alive rather than just told US ally. So let's let's get started. Let's get into it so we opened up in the whisperer. Would whether whispers are collecting sap from trees for some unknown reason at the time I thought he was heads. I don't know why until I was like. Oh what's that for the trees because they look bulky and heavy and round I was like what are they doing with that? Yeah I get. I wonder if that's how did you really sad but true because it looks like they cut some of the bark off and then a like almost create a sack out of the tree skin and then the sap flows into a storm out but I know nothing about it. They will sapping the hell out of them. Trees yeah And I was in the house what they're gonNA do with that. They're going to do something like you eat. Or these maple trees. Are you going to get pancakes? I don't know my my nine three known as thought it was here that I because I was like bags and I was like the fucking this so also at the same time on a bed. Iraq's Alpha is led Megan whipper would a switch now. I'm not really sure 'cause I thought the whipping thing was I sometime or punishment but I don't know it was something else going on there. Because he would three times cutting her all three times and he said does this mean we're bonded for life. She was like now. It's my turn to whip you. Initi- will tell them and then she said depends so I don't know if that's like a marriage something their version of what does that mean. I think I think they do that to everybody like you know what I'm saying. Because he did it. Lydia Beta did it to her. I don't know if there's a right of passage for people that are close to her like she might not everybody. Maybe he'll get codename. You're right but but but it is. It is a form of Initiation maybe he the new gamma possibility she did lose gamma. And maybe he's now got that role But yeah so They then walk through the woods together. I'll creep early with a horde of zombies and Betas. They're out there and Megan now has a mask and look like the fresh Zombie leather jacket a lot. I never. Rc Today. A Dallas Zombie. I never thought he'd put a mask. Oh man neither I'll say now he's not bullshit but apparently you know like I said that crazy until you like this thing ain't too bad. Love had sex with union on the train to the mask own. Maybe I could get into this and is one of those things to to where I still I still think some of the things might happen. But is one of those things based on the story that they've told us it's one of those things that With them being so nasty and mean and rude like he actually did WANNA leave. They forced him to leave like they literally kicked him out. And we'll stay in this situation. Alexandria okay kicked him out. I think he wanted to stay. He would have preferred to because he didn't want to go out in the first place to stay locked up in a he'd been just fine but it's one owned y'all going to kick me out okay. Yeah and they were going to kill him at one. Point wrecked that girl He killed trying to save Lydia So why wait around but yes like I said. I've seen him in that mask and now I will say this. Everyone was chanting. You know how they whispered in the world who he is Nada Shit. He wasn't channing But Beta interested in channing. 'cause 'cause he he'll he'll notice songs dance moves yet on the group like me at. Church like Oh you gotta fake it till you make your day. They ain't gave him to his book yet. But yes so then. Nego later pools Alpha to the side To advise her that when they get the hilltop instead of her 'cause she's going they got the horde they're going to go to hilltop and kill all these people and says instead of going hilltop and just killing everybody thought about making them join us like we will have to rather than Mascara massacre them. He's like he's like no. I know solicited advice. And you'll like that. You know no one likes it but just thought. I just say no. I might feel got down fantastic. Getting those asked to surrender. Bend the knee outlook. We can get them to join us as seals like explain. So you know they kind of leave at cliffhanger out there for and we'll get to the end to see like maybe she'll do a knee again and necas whole thing is people are a resource valuable right. I'm not gonNA just kill people. And if you think about it down. Alvarez belief system is zombies are resource right right like if you think about it hurt her the highest most valuable thing you can be as as Avi Right. That's why they surround themselves in the group doesn't have to be big right So now you gotta hilltop. We'll Because these stories basically meet up. Eugene is on the radio with his Long Distance Lover Stephanie. They have gotten quite close. Yes see only lose A. That's what we are. Yeah like he's been up there cupcake cupcake and time and catfish in this woman. Because you know you can't see each other in Z pack. There's NO SKYPE. There's no facetime so she gene like whatever whatever you don't know what she looked like but he's he's just he's on the phone on the phone with a having a good time going through records. There's music libraries amount of simple to Susanna carburetors it l. p. m. i. lost we'll not only a fool would attempts. That's our storm stands. Epic string accompaniment tally to fleece of four. Ezra projectiles plummeted earth. So three shooting stars town. You'd better not count data life satellites. I feel like they should be doing this. While he is laying on his bed with speed up in the air land on his stomach. And saying no you go first. These are two nerves. They might as well be in the room. The thing that projects like stars in the sky above your room and I said you seem and I see you girl I saw three projectiles followed earth. Yes big language you can speak is not as language. Yeah I guess we talked long enough. You speak you. Gene D'Amato for extended periods of time..

"On this. Just just say Catherine favored movie. Take you now you know when we started. We did the problem but this was the the again fantastic touch. Ah that Catherine came up with when we started the show because we did a little presentation pilot with a lot of different cast members when we shot it here and there was no Dialect character really did as a favor and and then when we started the actual series. You know she. She came in with these great ideas. What if there was a dialect if more were kind of talk like this as I said Gold Beard of? That's it's great. It's great and what she wore weeks the way for food for for different moods that she was in. Hey J yes I do. I have all the old emails Ichi Tonight Exchange before we shut the car industry in this series in he's returning into our characters because I was saying gene you have to make me feel okay.
