"Our best <Speech_Music_Male> known as completely <Speech_Music_Male> satisfied with <Speech_Music_Male> amount of money we had <Speech_Male> but we <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> did what we could <Speech_Male> but were you ultimately <Speech_Male> satisfied with the <Speech_Male> film overall. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> I'm never satisfied <Speech_Male> sign mom that's <Speech_Male> running <Speech_Male> defects. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Better counting lessons <Speech_Male> the movie <Speech_Music_Male> I mean I think <Speech_Music_Male> part of the miraculous <Speech_Music_Male> nature <Speech_Music_Male> of the film <Speech_Music_Male> and must've? <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Pleased with is <Speech_Male> not happy with have <Speech_Male> to do with the active <Speech_Male> again lucky <Speech_Male> with actors. So <Speech_Male> the cast I <Speech_Male> think unilaterally. <Speech_Music_Male> I <Speech_Music_Male> was able to work with people <Speech_Music_Male> I really admire <Speech_Music_Male> Lonzo work <Speech_Music_Male> with and they came <Speech_Music_Male> to the table without <Speech_Telephony_Male> requiring <Speech_Music_Male> the big budget <Speech_Music_Male> or the big. <Speech_Music_Male> And <Speech_Male> so that's my. <Speech_Male> That's my abiding <Speech_Male> luck. In <Speech_Male> addition Ethan Kyle, <Speech_Male> eat <Speech_Male> he send I think is <Speech_Male> really <Speech_Music_Male> spectacular in the movie <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> Jim. Gaffe <Speech_Music_Male> again has become a <Speech_Music_Male> friend he grumbled <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> be your Deniro <Speech_Male> will be ready for anything <Speech_Male> was he was <Speech_Male> in experimental <Speech_Music_Male> the <Speech_Music_Male> Mild friend Karl <Speech_Music_Male> Geary is not <Speech_Male> conspicuous presence <Speech_Music_Male> in movies, but he's <Speech_Male> retired become <Speech_Male> a novelist, but he <Speech_Male> played horatio in <Speech_Male> Hamlet. <Speech_Male> Glad to <Speech_Male> carve out a space <Speech_Male> for him. Ns, he played. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Samuel, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I can't. I <Speech_Male> can't getting the names mixed <Speech_Male> up at the moment <Speech_Music_Male> he played Edison's <Speech_Music_Male> right hand <Speech_Male> man and <Speech_Male> in a beer, these <Speech_Male> sort of recognizable <Speech_Music_Male> but he was <Speech_Music_Male> great to have <Speech_Male> around <Speech_Male> this adventure <Speech_Music_Male> Hannah gross <Speech_Music_Male> was in. <Speech_Music_Male> Raji prime <Speech_Music_Male> like to work with <Speech_Male> again, Donnie <Speech_Male> cash award <Speech_Male> was also experimented <Speech_Male> plays J. P. Morgan. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Music_Male> the cast <Speech_Music_Male> is that's <Speech_Music_Male> the one <Speech_Music_Male> secret weapon <Speech_Music_Male> able to bring the bear <Speech_Male> on the budget <Speech_Male> is thread <SpeakerChange> there <Speech_Male> how did <Speech_Male> cobaine effect? <Speech_Male> The film was supposed <Speech_Male> to come out <SpeakerChange> much earlier. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Focus. <Speech_Male> Is affected <Silence> everyone such <Speech_Music_Male> an. Overwhelming <Speech_Male> degree I'm <Speech_Music_Male> ready to answer the question <Speech_Male> but. <Speech_Music_Male> In some ways <Speech_Male> the fate of the film <Speech_Music_Male> seems trivial <Speech_Male> to me. I'm an <Speech_Male> cheaply <Speech_Male> to sort <Speech_Male> of dismissive it's just <Speech_Male> a movie. <Speech_Male> In this <Speech_Male> case, it may <Speech_Male> actually be kind <Speech_Male> of luck because <Speech_Male> they just <Speech_Music_Male> provided me with a list <Speech_Music_Male> of theatres <Speech_Music_Male> unlikely as it seems <Speech_Male> the Defense GonNa <Speech_Male> show in over <Speech_Male> seventy theaters. <Speech_Music_Male> None of my <Speech_Music_Male> movies have been <Speech_Male> in recent <Speech_Male> times <Speech_Male> I think that kind of <Speech_Male> reach I <Speech_Male> can't imagine <Speech_Music_Male> who's going to show <Speech_Music_Male> up, but it's phenomenal <Speech_Music_Male> and <Speech_Male> the drive ins <Speech_Male> as well. So <Speech_Male> the approach <Speech_Male> was when in <Speech_Male> the movie was at Sundance <Speech_Male> and it was <Speech_Male> I'd say <Speech_Male> well received <Speech_Music_Male> and

"Babylon be best of coffee table book. I saw the notes right there. Oh yeah and it's pre-order it you can pre-order now. It's not out yet yeah just understand. It's not out for a while and it says preorder that means before order. You're like the person getting in line per star wars movie like months before it comes out. Yeah a lot of camping gear. Most people are mocking you. Yeah you're camping out outside the Babylon be online wine store and it will probably probably be out in the middle of this year but we don't have a firm date so yeah early summer issues were aiming for but who knows who knows nobody. God knows. And that's all that matters all right and now story one Kyle you speak. You cannot literally wrap your head around something you would get hurt. That's a good point surly smart very smart point that she did she try that did she want did she try to. I didn't read this. She yeah she demonstrated that you can't get confusing so we had a writers meeting yesterday and we were discussing how to attack this. AFC because because yeah we'll see it had this beautiful beautiful comment section. Thank you about bringing up the poverty draft and this idea of a bootstrap this idea and this metaphor of a bootstrap started off as a joke. Because it's a physical impossibility to lift yourself golf up by a bootstrap by your shoelaces. It's physically impossible. The whole thing is a joke. Speaks for itself mic drop. I just love that. She specifically mentioned shoelaces right after. You did that article about the shooter. Yeah that was the thing. We were all laughing so hard because we did that stupid. Our coach we already explained the joke. Maybe a two podcasts. In a row we talking. Yeah but You know the joke being anyway. I don't want to say it again but explain it. The third time wrangler sell their shoelaces. 'cause the articles so stupid actually playing Super Meta joke but anyway and then she said it's just an awesome that we write the absolute most over the top thing we can think of and the chief of fills it and it's just absolutely wonderful curious. where the etymology of lifting yourself up by your bootstraps? Like where does that come. It was the actual. I had heard that before that well. The point is that you can't you can't but you know any any idiom breaks down when you think about it. Yeah well yeah. We try to list off the other day wrapping your head around. Something was the best one. So let's get our wives opinions on destiny. What are what are your thoughts on? You may speak she represents all your interests now now my interest. This is nice because now that the women are attacking US see. Yeah it safer. It's no longer problematic that we're just a bunch of white males laughing about a brave woman of color except for it feels like we're commanding them to speak to. We are well. I personally get all my news from from the Babylon be because I know that it's it's real. It's serious anything I've ever learned about. AFC has been from the Babylon so in the Babylon beat. Tells me she's dumb. I'm like she's dumb. Just go deer. She's is like CNN on my turn like here's your news. Here's here's the news. You're allowed to watch a very well informed and intelligent wife Ethan. I'm like Kim Jong Il of the House. I have one new source. I love her uh-huh to see and then also when I speak I have a voice actor speak for me. The deeper booming voice. And there's all these myths about you that have evolved over the years sing songs about blowing missiles and my enemies one time dead wrestled a bear and killed it like this. Aw is like a song about it if the marching in with their guns the the Nicole Hassle Muscle doesn't interesting. It's wild you guys coats family. I have one compliment for ABC I really liked the way she does her makeup. But that's where it ends. She's eight people that call her ugly honest. Are you serious of all the people that are on TV for politics. She's one of the more attractive people. At least she's not ugly. Yeah but you know there's more to life we there's the saying so it's such a below the belt thing they drowsy gave her like a unit brown or teeth. Sticking out all snuggling Yes so you know denier Libertarians. And so we read a lot of like well. I smoke a lot and every day just getting other every other there are some really funny conspiracy. Theories about you see in one is that she is just like a stage actress that like memorize lines and stuff and I could totally see except that she like messes them up in her. Do that stuff again guy off stage with the script you skip. It belongs to the script Desi. What are your thoughts on? ABC's makeup. I do like her makeup. I think that whoever does it as a a very good job I do make too so she's looking for. Somebody knew I could do that or her hair. I do her hair as well. She has nice air. Yes this is. The commentary that matters just trots on. ABC's makeup. I have no comment. No Okay I just want to say that. You can't judge Roger put by its cover. That's idiot wait a minute. That's all you can get your book by. That's exactly if you look in a book you have to judge it by its cover. The whole the thing is a joke it all falls apart in. You can't have your cake and eat it too ethan. Kyle confuses me so much I know frank was Tommy. You flip it around and make sense of it and subsequently have can't be like hey I want to see this cake I got eight it. That's a good point missing seeing the forest for the trees and you may even be throwing out the baby with the bathwater. There's no forest within ten miles of here so I don't know what you're timing uh-huh desert form. Yeah we're missing. The forest is literally trees. I don't know how the desert for the missing of the buildings buildings for the desert for the sand the beach for the granules ocean all right. We took that one far enough. You No. It's the weirdest thing to me about this. I know at least for us being on the podcast here is like a total around like using my life is the way more talkative one of the two of us and now it's totally around really weird. This is very problematic with the three guys. That are on the mics. And we're just keeps nudging edging his mic in my direction. I'll keep taking away from me extremely problem. We gotta get way more expensive. Maybe when we get to one of these stories that that you guys will have some strong opinions on we can just back off and just put it in the air if you want to speak just just like in the Nicole House Speaker Rolling panics if you WANNA speak. That's what the wives have to do in Nicole Hassle permission. Move onto a second store. I have no idea how to say the Disney. Can you read the story. I don't know how to pronounce is again. Carney for tests introduces the Biden collection. I was good very convincing. How you pronounce it Garni Garni? So how is Brooke Teas. So is that a good brand destiny can you. Can you give us some advice on shampoos. That are good for our hair. My wife is a stylus Well it really depends on what kind of hair you have so if you have a lot of very dry dry hair you have course here. I like Basu products and while products or pursue products surface. Basu things like that. But this this Garnier and Pantene and Suave don't use it. This episode is brought to you by desert with Zero Salon. If you're in the southern California area you want but you hair down. I wonder if there's lawns in the area where you can get your hair done and then someone behind you just smells your hair for like a shoulder rub the by the whole my old man size they smell this. Oh this is what Joe Biden has been doing at these events posed like a little girl up or like someone like put his hand on their shoulder behind him and he'll do like this and you're like what are you doing. He lifts their hair with his nose. Kind of like a dog lifts your hand to be petted. And he likes Kinda SORTA Sniffen. You've made me this little kids do. It's a weird so I don't even like shampoo. I always accidentally I use the conditioner or whatever. Is there hand soap. I'm good with that. Hence the shower. It's whatever's around and grab I shampoo.

Folks the exclusive interview Candido in and we just like to remind you that we disavow everything that everything's disavow all right. What do you think that kyle the Candice Owens interview? That was our big interview yet. I think are most well known person. I was a little nervous about it because she is she is so many leagues above us and the weird it's just weird when somebody walks off the Internet into a little room with you and they're real now yeah and also like she started off with very serious looking face and I wasn't sure if she's going to laugh that was the scariest part because we had a plan to start with those funny stuff yeah and we weren't sure if he's an lap like she was like stone faced and she started laughing. She started laughing very hard. I was good so it was good acting on her part tack. We were funny. Bake laughing fake laughing. Yes great now is awesome really enjoyed it all right. We're GONNA do some hate male but not really hate mail order. I love love man. We're going to do well. We may have a couple couple hates in here but we're gonNA read podcast reviews from itunes echoes we love when you guys write reviews and we don't acknowledge you often enough because people that rate and review us on itunes. Yes you very special to us yeah so this is you love you. The most out of everybody. This is going to be an extended pitch for you to review us on Itunes or any of the STIG knowledge. There's some very well written reviews on here. They deserve. Let's probably GONNA be the most recent ones because I don't have time to scroll back through the very beginning apple's so weird. It's like if you're if you're accessing anything apple not on an apple device. It's impossible to find all right so here's this is I like this one five star review view from Brian Jamerson and he says often the Babylon is often fairly funny. Often is the name of the title of the review often and that won't be is often fairly funny. He's not very enthusiastic but I do appreciate fairly. I'll take fairly funny often fairly funny. I'll take it he means these are stories. Oh Oh no he's talking. This is a five star you often the Babylon be that was the whole review done that I'm just going to pick around one laughed so much amazing control of the structure covering story the topic and reader explaining in our podcast hate mail. This is Keri K. O. Hate mails particularly hilarious satire and sometimes serious. I laughed so much I had to reconsider listening while driving. Thank you carry five Star Review. I checked with snow pts and this isn't even satire. Articles goals great all caps podcast very good the which I probably agree with that the articles are highlight every time I read one hilarious. Keep it up. He's like Hey podcast is great. I love your calls the yelling and then at the end of this when they say these guys know about short circuit and Johnny five and I like that finally we found our person who got our Short Circuit Reference Short Circuit Great Movie we read some bad ones too was a good one a good bad one is careful paluck sixty. One says be careful Q. I don't know whether q at the end of that is that like reference to some conspiracy the humor humor is a little bit forced like it was supposed to be the main thing right thinking Christians. No the main thing is Christ Jesus not trying to be clever. Just over fifty percent of the humerus fine over fifty percent is fine. I don't understand. Is it a one star review. It's a two star so if over fifty percent it's fine shouldn't be three-star. You can't do to an probably he. Maybe he wanted to do two and a half right. Thinking Christians know that the main thing is Christ Jesus agree not trying to be clever just over. We're fifty percent of the humerus fine. He saying half are jokes are evil. I think is what he's saying. This is from This is a person who was mad about the bridget episode. Oh he does swab. Batmobile usually recognizes the potential for satire in the hubris of others this episode declines into the tired critique of older generations Ethan Kyle and bridget to you need some friends slash role models in their parents and grandparents humor satire insider timeless if you look be better be that was the one that we were making an old people I think so yeah I felt bad with that by that one. 'cause we all appreciate people. I'm not making fun of it. I love old people. I like reading criticisms myself yeah. Na does as to how she like. What did we say about people I don't know did we say something about all? I hope people we love. You and I'm sorry this review volunteers like senior centers I will I will be better fantastic. This was really cool. That's a good one five stars. This is like ex cop but the Babylon be that's mecom. It's good earth just do a couple more here. Holly Luhya Land Master after twenty nine eleven said every word is like a delicious bite of a chick-fil-a Sandwich to my eardrums. Here's a good one five stars lives dead with with the guest appearance of Ben Shapiro personally destroying lives in a house fire with the stinky leg and an epic mash up of facts and logic destroying all the libertad sand castles. It's truly beautiful castles efforts snowflakes Adam heard sand castles. It's great how about this one care current ninety six says secret messages await. I played this podcast backwards into my pleasant surprise her the entire gospel of John read enthusiastically by these two white dudes. I look forward to hearing the Bible read in its entirety subscribing now so listen to it backwards I like. How do you say Babylon backwards Ebner Alabama so here's one that says here's one that says you need more editing to stars editing editing editing? Take your forty eight minute podcast and edited down to fifteen minutes. I was these people always fascinate me Liz to a fifteen minute. I look at the top podcasts casts out. There are any of them three hours long in our in our they lack headed down. It's just people his snazzy fifteen minutes soundbite like nobody nobody. There's some nicely edited ones but I think it's mostly like the ones that are shows or audio dramas or whatever those are but yeah if a conversational podcast yeah. This is a conversational podcast if you don't what conversations in fact that's what we tried to warn people at the beginning right. This isn't like the site. This isn't satire articles and we're not going to try to pretend like we're being fake like where parodying being podcasts as I be really hard to pull off or just us and basically we were just lazy decided. We tried it though we we actually did it. It was not funny. We really tried to do like parody news stuff written stuff. That's took a long time to work up and it was not as good as us just talking which maybe just says that we are horrible writers anyway. That's the show all right well. We love you and write a thank you and right at some great amazing. Maybe you'll be featured will read words so we're GONNA go into our subscriber portion now. So if you are a subscriber you get to keep listening if you aren't then you will be thrown into the outer darkness darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth so that cloth and ashes if you're dressed for.

"Thanks for being on the show as well. Happy to have you. Thanks for having me. Okay. So you you wrote the book how many years did you have you been working on this project? I think I've been involved almost six years. Okay. What is the evolution of the story of SpongeBob? Squarepants the musical. What does the evolution of the story? Has it changed from day one? Yeah. It has a mean, we knew okay. Here's the challenge. Right. Spongebob on TV. They're eleven minute episodes. Yes. Broadway show, you maybe where is not eleven minutes long, just a little long just a little longer. So we had to figure out like how do we take that? Crazy, fast paced show and create a show that can fill in evening, and has the kind of stakes the emotional stakes that are going to make us wanna sit there for an evening. So pretty early. We said on the idea that it was going to be the end of the world, which are pretty high stakes. Right. Right. And then the exact version of end of the world changed a bunch. But we were kind of always on that idea that it was going to be Armageddon. Meet SpongeBob SpongeBob and his fellow inhabitants of bikini bottom. Are threatened by volcano that is going to destroy it. And people are freaking out. They look Fisher free fish Fisher free. Clarify see I just saw myself in every single one of those fish. Squirrel once world who is who is a mammal, and there is a subtle thing where everyone ends up turning on the mammal, and even spray paint a sign that says mammals, go home, which of course, seems like a comment on the current world around us, and I'm just wondering when did this enter the script. Interestingly enough, it's been there. A long time in the show. Sandy, the squirrel is the only land mammal, right? There are Kwak mammals. There's a whale. But she's the only land mammal. Thank you. I like you. I don't know if I'm perfectly honest. So anyway, we always thought wrote a story about people turn against each other dealing with fear, the idea of scapegoating, somebody just you know. That's what happened. Yeah. So she as the outsider seemed like, you know, really clear way to tell that story. Sadly, the world has really caught up, and I think it's felt even more relevant than it did even when we did in Chicago a couple years ago, right art, art imitating reality. So we have a game for you, Ethan. Kyle your game is called take a sad song and make it better. And to perform your clues I would like to welcome Tony award nominee for the music of SpongeBob. Squarepants the Broadway musical our very own Jonathan Colton. Thank you. Thank you. So Bob square pants is a Turnley optimistic characters. So we wondered how he might interpret some famously depressing music Jonathan Colton going to sing a few lines from dark said or creepy song and your job is to ring in and sing the next line of the song. But you have to deliver. It like SpongeBob would with all the optimism and joy and be upbeat as as much as possible. Here we go on reasonably nervous. This is creep by Radiohead. Where was sped? So. I'm oh weirdo. Correct. That's correct. Yeah..
