"Mark swan and we hadn't unintentionally political show today. I apologize for that. I was looking for stories. And i was like i want to talk about jeff bezos but i also wanna talk about vid and i tried to not get too political on the show. I think we like to have fun here on the weird news. I don't wanna give you guys a whole hour of just sad thought provoking stories. I like to keep it light. I like to keep it weird like to keep a supernatural paranormal. If a man if we get anymore ufo news this year. I'll be so happy to report on that. Because i love aliens. Bigfoot i love ghosts and the thing about it is we have been rapidly advancing technologically. And you would think because of that. We would start to leave the era of superstition. Like there's the argument made here that. Everybody has a phone in their pocket. It's an easy to use phone. You can access it. Most of the time you can access it with the click of a button so you would think that we would stop getting show. Many reports of paranormal presences. I mean the argument here is we are living in a science driven rational world and therefore we should be rejecting the ideas of like fairies and ghosts in the woods and things like that and we wouldn't have the ability to show evidence to the contrary but it's actually the opposite. Lots of people have been taking pictures of unexplained phenomena and events ever since the smartphone with the camera. I cannot tell you how often michelle my partner. And i sit down and watch a compilation of the constant drove of captured paranormal footage. The profession of ghost hunting using the term profession very loosely. Here the profession of goes taunting is more popular than ever. There are so many ghost hunter groups there are so many paranormal investigators. And they all have the ability to make media. And they're just constantly clocking out so-called evidence that there are things that we don't understand about haunting spirits ghosts etc. I think there are a lot of people out there who are ready to dismiss most of these claims and i don't blame them once again. We are in the science driven rational world and we should be attempting to approach these paranormal videos and pictures with as much smart thinking as possible. It is extremely important that as modern people we don't delve into the supernatural otherwise we can let certain things control us that wouldn't be good for society or for friends or family or anything like that. But gosh darn is it. Just show fun when you find it. Convincing piece of supernatural footage. I'm a media guy. I know how a video camera works. I know how to compose a shot. I know how to make something look convincing on a photograph or video. And so i watch a lot of these videos or i look at a lot of these photos and Sometimes i'm able to go like well. That's fake and it may look very convincing or appear convincing. But here's why it's fake so when there comes a photo or video that i don't know how they did it. I am just show happy. And when i say how they did it. I'm always airing on the idea. That people are faking these things for attention or money or youtube clicks. Or what have you. But there's always. There's always the off chance that something was captured. That was legitimately paranormal unexplainable. And you can be of the school of thought. That no goes real. Aliens aren't real. None of that stuff is real and so any footage of that so obviously faked or bugle. Be like me and just have some fun with it lake. Sometimes it's fun to believe like the kind of sucks to sit there and think that we really understand everything show rigidly. It's not necessarily dangerous thinking to find huntings and paranormal claims. Fun or at the very least interesting. And i love it. Further win. such a story comes from my neck of the woods. This next story takes us to the historic and famous stanley hotel in estes park colorado. Where h worst from texas. Who visited and stayed at the stanley. Hotel says she's captured an image on film that she can't quite explain. Now i'm guessing you are a fan of the weird a fan of horror or just a fan of film. You are probably familiar with the stanley hotel. As it was the filming place of the stephen king movie the shining the one thousand nine hundred stanley kubrick flick as one of the most famous horror films of all time and is considered a top one hundred classic among many film of fans for those who haven't seen the movie or read the book. The story involves a family staying at the hotel over the winter while the father acts as groundskeeper just to keep the hotel up and running safe and clean up until it can open again for new patrons. Jack nicholson plays jack and aspiring writer. Who throughout the film due to the hotel's sense of loneliness and a supernatural factor. He goes insane and tries to hunt down his family and kill them. It's a great movie if you haven't seen it and it's one of stephen king's most popular books. I'm a huge king fan. So i love it but perhaps in part due to the shining the stanley hotel has garnered somewhat of a reputation as one of the most most haunted places in the country. These daily odell has been a source for many claims of haunting and ghost experiences. Many patrons visitors of the hotel have claimed that they saw or experienced a ghost. These daily hotel has even leaned into this reputation as they give regular ghost and folklore. Tours on may twenty twenty-seventh twenty twenty one. Kim kimberley a tourist from texas was on one of these stanley's ghost tours. She says that the guide encouraged guests to take lots of pictures during the tour and so she did while the tour was making. Its way around the building on the outside. Kim took a side view picture of a portion of the building including its ground floor all the way up to the ceiling. Kim says that she did not see anything strange. In the scene she was taking a picture of and especially not anything in the third story window. When ms kimberly wins to review the pictures she noticed there was something different than what her memory served in the picture on the top floor partially obscured by a hanging american flag. There appears to be a person in the window. I will put up one of these photos on the instagram. So be sure to check that out but since we are using the wonderful audio only medium. I will do my best to describe what i see in the picture and sure enough. It does look like a human being. There is an obvious female shape in this window. She appears to be wearing white dress. I would not consider it a modern or conventional white dress. It's almost like a wedding dress or perhaps a maids dress. She has about shoulder. Length brown hair that flows down and kind of like poofs out at the end and there is an eerie face on this woman. I am assuming that if this was just a picture of a real person than the cell phone is making it clear than it is but this woman appears to have maybe the outline of a nose but no face otherwise she has no is no eyebrows and no mouth from the looks of this picture once again. This is like a cellphone picture from far away. So it's very possible that this was just a picture of a real person that was obscured by insufficient technology. But it looks darn creepy. The picture of course made news as hey go citing the stanley hotel. Why the heck not and these danley hotel respectfully declined to comment on the photos from colorado. Let's hop across the pond to the uk where the matrix paranormal uk from south yorkshire carried out an investigation at an old have anti aircraft gun site near stalin borough..

John Wooden struggled as never before, with the pressure of success. If you're in this type of profession, when you're in the public eye, you're going to have ups and downs. You're going to have praise you're going to have criticism. Someone is going to be deserved in some of the some of it isn't but your strength I don't care whether you're a teacher, a surgeon or whatever you are. You're a strength depends on how you react to both praise and criticism. You can't not either one affect you. I first heard this at an F. C. A conference in Estes Park, Colorado. "Just a few minutes to do here for this because I want to get to some phone calls but I sort of teased this earlier so I don't want to disappoint people one of the stories are one of the locations you went to of course the the Stanley hotel in Estes park Colorado the inspiration for Stephen king's novel the shining what happened there yes going to the family was interesting being a fan of that book you know Stephen King was inspired after having a dream while staying there of this tremendous like sort of ghostlike macabre interaction between his three year old son running through the corridors being chased by a fire hose he got you know sort of cupboard in sweat I went out to this alchemy with a cigarette and broke the you know bare bones of the story right there so you know when walking in its halls Richard you can imagine yourself being tasted you know you have this historic mansion it's an epic setting it's the quintessential setting for any sort of haunted hotel movie but the thing is those feelings seem more than just some form of culture is ation right they're not a lie the phenomenon seems to be real the stories that come out of this place certainly are we also I went there and I got together with Karl Pfeiffer and Connor Randall these are two notable ghost investigators they can actually be seen in the documentary series hello you're on Amazon prime and Carl who would become my collaborator on the U. for that short film series actually available on you tube so Carla Connor we're the reason that the Gators for a number of years at the Stanley hotel you're looking at you guys and I think for over five years perhaps with the investigators there almost every night leading tourism and staying later to find communication defined relationship with what was going on there so they have most certainly conducted the most investigations in this location history and over time now I seem to be able to identify unique individual spiritual moreover develop relationships with them and so as they continued these relationships the the start of the five different ways to divine conversations and one of the ways they came up with was something called the yes this message basically Carl in corner take in SB seven spirit box which usually is placed out in the open and it's put on place it acts as if a broken radio receiver it's sweet and tracks the radio signals into chunks of sort of randomized noise many ghost hunters ghost investigators believe that you know you can ask the same questions and bits of content will come up to the random chunks of noise well to take a little bit of the I don't sort of the controversy over its effectiveness of peridot we aren't really a first reading into information that could be Quintus something paranormal they decide like Hey you know what let's separate this process a little bit so they hooked corner office to appear of noise canceling headphones Adam down in the concert basement all which is one of the most active places they put a blindfold offers for face and at this point in time they now had a way to conduct this experiment much more scientific way Carl would ask questions out into the great blue yonder and would simply listen for any responses that seem to make sense coming from corner to corner all you can hear is the SB seven all you can hear is the fifth of information coming and going and what they developed was really stunning conversation explained they would go on for hours with a call and response using this device so I'm there in my room on the fourth floor of the family I've been taken to the quarters already and here I am with my bed covered with their ghost hunting equipment yeah I I you know I've told you before it was like a scene out of taxi driver right and instead of a gun that can stop a gold card forty yards or something it was you know these different devices they said you know let's do it here it's fun sitting impairment Connors in the corner and he's beginning to interpret what the signals are in sure enough you know mining starts coming up things like Jim are you recording you know things for me seem otherworldly you know I think the words the spirit voices the spirit voices are calling you by name they're they're referencing you it appears okay and are responding to some of Carl's question and some of my questions what's funny about this situation and to show how dog Carlin Conner where at this point they were not impressed you know based off of the evidence that they had collected so far and the real blast conversations they had developed in the past this is like kind of nothing to them this is like sort of a non event but to me as someone who's an initiated it was startling and it felt like there was a presence right in the room for perhaps with us in some point in time Richard I realize that this was my room and I had to later go to sleep at night thank that's right minus all the the ghost tracking equipment how was your night it you know it was fine I've had several nights hello going off on the cation you from that where I have experienced things I have had instances where I've felt like manta something come back with me that's always my actual biggest fear of doing this is if there's a possibility of your answer these energies or whatever it is following me that freaks me out just the idea of it so that has not happened I have some things that I do just in terms of rituals and I like to participate in very non a cultish ritual like listening to certain Fleetwood Mac songs that seems like sort of maybe protect me and someone I believe and I believe since intent is a part of the conversation with the phenomenon and one's mind content is aligned and I'm thinking straight I'm feeling right I think I'm okay but there's been situations like in New Orleans where you know I feel is I was I was shook awake by someone at the foot of the bed after the alarm someone didn't reset the alarm and it went off at like three in the morning and so I'm turning this off and and the best start shaking like Hey why'd you turn that off it's time to get up and I nor it because back to sleep the alarm goes off again of course because you think of the worst in hotel rooms and sure enough I I wake up at night turn around in the bed checks again like a very friendly you know sort of made me truly kind of a you know you're supposed to get off balance it was disappointing time where remember some things that that they're great investigator Jon Tenney told me he told me that we have a choice in communicating and our relationship with the things we have a choice to play the game or not and I simply leave at this point in time I should say something and so even though it felt kind of silly I set up in my bed bath and you know listen I understand the you heard my alarm go off and I know you're trying to help me out but I just want to let you know that it was a mistake and I really need to get some sleep so can you please just you know screaming alone for right now and if you have anything to say you know maybe we can do it tomorrow morning and I was able to kind of calmly rest and get back to sleep by you know whether there was a situation that a part of me kind of like fabricator made up there is an ability to help yourself cope with some of the stuff when anything is possible seemingly you need to find some space actually ground and take control of the power in your hands even if it's anecdotal you know absolutely all right let's go to the calls and well let's see wildcard line Tom is in Spring Valley California Tom good morning welcome to coast the main show I just want to ask a quick question on your awful line and that is because he believes is generally used to people the vampire he interviewed dispossessed or demonic in any way thanks Richard all right Tom thank you all right Jim I think I know your answer but have at it yeah no I don't yeah I don't I don't think that he even I don't know you know his religion is futile right so I think even that the constructs of the typical Christian belief system is not something that he subscribe to right so I think that his relationship to that religion in terms of being a tester even a maligned or malevolent energy is present especially in terms of how he handled himself you know he really is a fantastic guy a positive person and that's reflected in his actions all right let's go the wildcard line again Robert is in Tuscaloosa Alabama Robert good morning welcome to coast glad to be here I have a question for your gifts and also have a little recommendation I like to give them when I get through with the question they wouldn't want to show that came on CW about a family of vampires in New Orleans that had been there for generations when he was in New Orleans the hearing hammering families that have not been there for a long time that's a great question I didn't but I did however stumble upon the tremendous amount of vampire lore this is within the city that such a big part of it you're looking at the micelles around Jacques Saint Laurent I believe I could be that that's just off the top of my head which was a a short in stature alleged vampire that found his way to New Orleans from France and there is the vampires in the covenant which is this is the story of you know at the time when New Orleans was a small city and they needed to increase the population the covenant and actually sent for women to be brought over to New Orleans and upon that journey they became deathly ill and I have to open up stairs and locals solve these daunting we women that look like something atrocious like a blood sucking vampire they fed into these ideas and notions and you know felt disbelief and this mess around a basement full of vampires that at one point in time broke through a window in X. gate and then shortly after that the the windows were boarded up I believe I told that story correctly but even if I didn't the spirit of it is New Orleans is orange with the vampire lore and so if you need to go to any place to find them not within the shadows flee out front living loud this is the place to go all right Robert you have a quick recommendation yeah he was telling me about his experience at the Stanley mo tail and on your investigation as if your candlelight worry about attachments have you ever heard of all the listed banishing ritual I know I haven't yeah it's not hard to learn and it's real good for getting rid of negative energies okay I'll take a look at it I'm interested in a wide.

"By the summer of two thousand. Kirghistan was a dangerous place. Islamic movement of WHO'S BECCA. Stan had declared Jihad or holy war against the country and its government rebels terrorized at southern mountainous region with violent attacks and kidnappings but in the midst of this foreign rock climbers naively continued to mount expeditions. To the region. One of these tourists was twenty two year old. Tommy Caldwell Tommy was born seven weeks premature in Estes Park Colorado. The area is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and hosts an abundance of popular hiking camping and rock climbing but young. Tommy was not your average Colorado athlete. It was a small frail child who was slow to develop. It didn't start crawling until age to a delayed milestone compared to his and in his early days of school. Dummies teachers told his parents that their son was developmentally delayed and would have learning difficulties. But they were wrong. Tommy's parents Mike and Terry Caldwell were determined to see their small son. Thrive they encouraged Tommy to be active and curious and to spend plenty of time outdoors. And in many ways Tommy's father. Mike was his greatest champion. Professional Bodybuilder Mountain Guide and rock climber himself. Mike was optimistic about his son's future and he believed that the best way to prepare children for the challenges of adulthood was to simply challenge them early on with this intention at heart. Mike frequently took Tommy and his older sister camping climbing and skiing and every summer the whole family traveled west to Yosemite for a host of outdoor adventures. He encouraged the children to take risks and to push themselves to limits. Tommy would later recount when I was two and a half and still in diapers. He took us deep into the mountains and we spent the night in a snow cave during a raging blizzard but to Tommy. This was not irresponsible. Were callous parenting. From a very young age he understood that his father loved him and was helping him to develop traits like independence resilience and a sense of adventure. And while Tommy likely didn't realize it growing up Mike Caldwell was actively practicing parenting technique known as authoritative parenting in the nineteen sixties developmental psychologist. Diana Bahman identified four different types of parenting styles neglectful permissive authoritarian and authoritative according to bomb rynd authoritative. Parents have high expectations for achievement maturity and cooperation from their children but they are also nurturing actively listening to their children and taking an interest in their ideas and opinions because of this the children of authoritative parents tend to be happier and more independent and they develop healthy self esteem and problem solving skills. Mike Caldwell was an example of this parenting style. He pushed his son to be daring and adventurous anti expected. Tommy to participate in challenging family activities. But Mike was also loving and positive. He turned even the most difficult outings in the fund. Adventures making sure to acknowledge Tommy's efforts in praise his accomplishments as a result. Tommy developed both physical and emotional resilience. He was comfortable in the face of adversity and adept at solving challenges qualities. That would serve him well. Later in life with so much exposure to the outdoors. Tommy was bound to develop an athletic passion and his love of rock. Climbing began at a young age with Tommy's parents traced to get back to when he was just three years old since. Nobody made climbing shoes for toddlers. Mike fashion pair himself by removing the souls of Tommy's hiking boots and gluing on climbing rubber. He then secured Tommy into a homemade body harness made of seatbelts and hoisted his tiny son. One hundred feet up a mountain. It was technically Tommy's I climb and the joy and excitement of that moment became the seed from which a lifelong passion for rock climbing. Grew by the time Tommy was in grade school. It was well on his way to becoming an expert. Rock climber it was also the thing he felt the most good at innes. Tommy grew stronger and more mature so did his innate ability for finding just the right finger in footholds by the time he was fifteen years old. Tommy was already out climbing his experienced. "Dealing with very very go. See stuff poltergeists things like that. This is so much bigger and stranger and weirder. You know, we're not you apologised, and we were dealing with UFO stuff. We were were not crypto zoologist, and we were dealing with with strange creatures in strange footprints, much broader and a lot more difficult to track down because it seems to us like the phenomena shifts and shapes depending on the time period. And depending on how people are looking for it. It's very lucid what is the so-called ESTES method. What is there? So they asked us method is a method that our friends Carlin Connor who again, our fellow investigators actually came up with an ESTES park, Colorado, and it utilizes spirit Bah, which is a pretty common ghost hunting tool a set of really good, headphones and. Something to cover your eyes with and basically what you're doing. Is. You have a person sitting with the spirit box and the headphones plugged into it. And they're listening to what's coming through on the spirit boss, and then you have the other investigators that are sort of standing around this person asking the questions, and the idea is that the person with headphones on is completely cut off from the rest of their sentences. So if the questions that were asking lineup was what the person is saying, then that's something interesting. We can kind of look at that. As potentially something else communicating with us. So that's that's the dispirit boxes that the one that George Meeks invented. I.
