"Minute. I think Hillary will be okay. Yeah, yeah. Well, first of all, congratulations on being named one of the 2018 National Geographic. What is it adventurers of the year? Thank you. Exciting. Thanks. It's cool. What does that mean? It means a lot to me. I worked really hard last year. I had kind of a crazy last couple of years. Just in my life in general. And so to really go for it last year was a big deal for me and then to be recognized by National Geographic for it was pretty awesome. It's cool. It's cool. And well, first of all, just for the listeners out there, I was super excited to also see Alex honnold as one of the what he did last year was absolutely unbelievable. Incredible. He was just in here a couple of weeks ago. Of course. It's cool to talk to him. He's pretty awesome. And also, maybe even more special was seeing merna valerio. Right? And I don't know much about her, but I have done a little reading up on her. She's really cool. She sounds pretty incredible. She's awesome. I've had her on the podcast. National Geographic, there's two more, right? There's 5 total. So I'm going to have to track down the other two. Yeah. But no, I think there's like 8 of them. Yeah, there's Killian journey. Oh yeah. Of course. And then this female, this surfer, I'm not, I don't know, very well. Cool. So that was really based on this expedition that you did this past year. I mean, you've done like a bazillion. I'm like, I don't even know, I can't pronounce any of these names anymore. But walk me through what you did this past year, that got you on that inductee list. Well, I have been obsessed with this mountain in India ever since my very first expedition in the skin totally date me. It was way back in 1999. A different century. Yeah, and so in 2017, I've made one attempt on the peak before in 2013 to no avail. We didn't really get very far on the mountain at all. And in 2017, between 2000 and 13 and 2017, just a lot kind of went on in my life in general. And I actually had kind of a lot of not successful expeditions that I'd been a part of. In fact, some were like just total disasters and I really wanted to go back to pup store. It's called the peak of evil. So epic. Epic. If you're gonna name, you know, something like that, you know. Yeah, it really is a good name. Understand the call. Yeah, so there was just, it was just calling me to go back and it was kind of like, I saw it as this circle of life kind of of my life and sort of a place where I started in a place I wanted to go back to and ultimately end with some success, so. What is it that spoke to you or speaks to you about the peak of evil? Like I'm interested in how you make the choices that you make and it seems like you're very deliberate. You take your time, but once you're in your all in. So how do you make that decision? Why was that one so important, even though I know you'd been there before in 2013, but well, just to give you a little background of how I like to climb and where I like to go in nearly a 20 year career of expeditions, I've never been back to the same place twice. I like to I've been back to regions, but never the same mountain. I really like the adventure and the mystery and the unknown and all that logistical planning that goes into it, but for some reason pop sora just kept pulling me back in. And I think in large part, when a friend of mine first showed it to me, all those years ago. It just looks so unattainable and so beyond anything I had the skill set for. Because it was just this massive, incredibly remote peak with, to me, and I'm a skier first and a climber second. It just had this, I mean, I think about the aesthetic of the peak and the ski line on it and it just gives me the chills and it's like this photo just seared in my brain of this mountain. And I think that I mean, I was in my early 20s when I first saw this mountain. And it was very new to the combination of Alpine climbing and combining it with skiing and big ski descents and it just seemed like this absolutely perfect mountain that I would never be able to climb. But then flash forward 17, 18 years and I just changed my skill set and I worked really hard at learning things and putting myself into different difficult situations in the mountains and just getting that skill set in general. So what is it that you had to master to do that one? Like what was specific about that? We're going to talk about suffering. Yeah. But I think I read maybe I'm mixing up expeditions, but doesn't this have like a 60° dissent on it? Yes. Super steep. It was really steep. I was just talking about it the other day. At this sort of speaking thing in estes park in Colorado and this guy who was a climber in the back was like, well, I mean, you had your ice axes. So, you know, if you'd lost an edge, couldn't you have self arrested and I don't even know what that means, but self arresting basically means if you fall on something steep, you have this really pointy sharp metal thing that you use to like slam into the side of the mountain so you don't slide all the way down, but the conditions were such that if you lost an edge, it was there was no way you could possibly stop yourself. And it was that steep, and it was kind of this hard glacial ice with just a tiny bit, you know, a couple centimeters of snow on top of it. So it was really really intense. I mean, I can't say we made a lot of ski turns.

"Is super fun, like watching being like, oh my God, I'm gonna catch a creatures that are alive. They're swimming around underneath the surface. And I'm gonna trick them and pull them out of this, that's amazing. Right. And then I'm gonna look at it and take a picture of it so I can impress people on the Internet and then I'm gonna like put it back in the creek. That's really cool. Once you do that 5 or 6 times, it's like, you know, all right, this was great. What's next, you know? You could argue we play golf at the same fucking thing every time. Try to hit a driver out there now and then hit an iron and we're just gonna do that 18 times, do it every day. It's pretty crazy. That is kind of crazy now. I think about it. It was fun. It was nice to be out there. It's very peaceful. You don't see anybody else. You can hear the water like the rougher water streams running through the rocks and the fish are jumping occasionally. It's Colorado's fucking beautiful. I'd move to Colorado right now. It's stunning. I was out there that weekend as well. It's just, I went to estes park, estes, estes. That's where we were fishing. How crazy is that? You went fishing? Dude, were you in the little town there where the Elk are walking around? Probably we went looking for out. But apparently like there's Elk that walk right across that water. Dude, and they walk right through the town. It's crazy. I watched them walk right through the town. We missed all the Elk. We went there for the oak. They're like, oh, if you guys go to estes park, you'll see a bunch of Elk. We're like, oh, let's go do that. It was only an hour away. Yeah, no problem. Dude, that's crazy. Didn't even see a dog, dude. I got a picture right here. Of can you catch this? My brother. In the town, what a sound you just made. And he's just, there's an Elk in front of us. Yeah, that's where I fucking was, man. Look at that elf. That looks 15 feet in front of us.

"Fireworks displays are a staple for many 4th of July celebrations, but a hotter and drier climate in the west is making it too dangerous to set them off. So, more places are now switching to a less flammable alternative. Colorado public radio's Matt bloom has more. Consumers. Graham hill is sitting at a computer overlooking a big, grassy field in suburban Denver, where he's just finished setting up a small army of drones for takeoff. There's 20 to Zack, each about the size of toy cars with four propeller blades. Looking good over here on the map. They were arranged in a 5 by four grid on the ground, each fixed with a lightbulb that's currently flashing a bright blue color in unison. When they finished sinking together, they start keeping. Hill then presses the space bar on his laptop and they take off into the sky and perfect synchronization. Once they're about 50 feet up, their lights change to different colors of the rainbow and float around to form different shapes in midair. So we got like a diamond shape and then a circle shape. We're standing almost right under it. And so sometimes it can look like they're about to hit each other, but they're actually all about ten feet apart at all times. Hills, Colorado based company, higher UAV pro puts on drone shows all over the world. It's still a niche industry, but growing fast, hill says, communities from Colorado to California have hired his team to design patriotic shows to replace their traditional fireworks. They've gotten more requests than they could handle this year from places compared about fire danger from Idaho to New Mexico to Texas. As soon as we turned on our website and started advertising and putting a couple of videos out there, and we probably had like 304 hundred requests for the 4th of July. The show's only last about 15 minutes due to limited battery life. Jeremy gross, an event coordinator with the town of Vale, says they spent about a $100,000 on this year's show. Three times more than fireworks would cost. It does take a commitment from the communities that are making this change to step up to the plate and spend that money to reduce the risk and provide a new and creative experience. They're worth it gross says because they're less likely to start a catastrophic wildfire. And less prone to last minute cancellations due to high fire danger. Plus, they can make formations that people likely haven't seen before. You can put an eagle in the sky and the eagle actually flaps its wings. You know, the old glory when you put the flag up, it waves, and it moves and can transition. Sometimes, though, are sticking with traditional fireworks, but with additional safety precautions. "Nothing to do with it. Okay now here's the rest of the story. So i'm i every once in a while i reach for the pedal and there's nothing there and i've got breaks and i slow it down and do that again and again. We get down to estes park which is flat down which is at seven thousand and i pull over and i stopped and i say i'm gonna go out and check my cylinder but suddenly realized that i've got my full pedal again i've got breaks say and and from that point on it hasn't bothered me again. I don't have that problem so something dropping from twelve to that. I know i'm having something you're gonna tell me. I need a physicist. No no you thinking what. I'm thinking yes will your at twelve thousand feet. It was cold. It wasn't exactly co bet since then and before that it hadn't been cold because it's what summertime as you know when things get cold they shrink so when you were stopped at the visitor's center in your master cylinder had shrunk enough to cause the brake master cylinder to fail which is often what happens in the wintertime. You don't have wintering sharieff port so you would know about in the great frozen north where we live. People often have master cylinders in the brakes fail in the wintertime to such an extent that the brakes will not work when the car is cold. But if you're brave enough to drive it and the temperature under the hood increases because of the heat given off by the engine the brakes will begin to work again when the master cylinder is bad and the way that gets bad is the seal which a little rubber ring wears out and so when you step on the pedal wanna push the fluid it sneaks by the seal and as long as. It's hot out that little rubber seal has expanded even though it wore out it expands enough to make the thing work however as soon as you get the first cold day all the all the master cylinder seals which have been wearing for the previous six months suddenly shrink up and the master cylinder suddenly doesn't work anymore and because i wasn't using any power wasn't generating any heat. Exactly guys are smart. Actually this is good. This is good news because it means that your cylinder is not in tip top shape and you would never know that living in shreveport so you need to replace it so it needs to be replaced because sooner later even though it's warm in shreveport it's going to fail it's not just seals on it that i can replay need to replace the whole thing. Okay yeah buy a new one. It's it's it's a hundred and something bucks right. It may save your life and you're lucky you didn't die new very lucky that this happened are you would never have known in the fact that now works is man and you. Weren't you live a charmed life. You know i mean you worry driving down the rest of that drive. Of course. I was worried these and i went back and took a nap. You drive on. i'll walk. I wanna down. What a guy feeling a little exercise. No seriously al have the master cylinder replaced. Because it's no good. I really appreciate that. Well we certainly hope so. Thanks for your call out and if you wanna put a little something in your will about us go right ahead. We did save your life as a matter of fact if you are going to put something in you will about us. Don't change filling good luck bye bye should be signing up for the john. "We don't what what what nationality ethnicity is that domestic attainment name. The i knew wolf. That is a great coleus. She that's great name. Yes so al i have. I took a vacation with my family this summer at in colorado in irving experience in. And it's baffled me ever since. I've asked several people about it and they giving me strange answers that none of which i really believed in so i. This was as teric enough. I felt it would be perfect for you. We're ready okay. I have an eighty six four advan three fifty van with a six nine diesel in Aftermarket turbo on it. Which is irrelevant for this conversation. But and went up to colorado. We're about two hundred feet mean sea level here in shreveport so i headed to colorado by the time i got to. Denver is at five thousand and then we stayed at peaceful valley for a couple of days at eight thousand feet and then finally went up to estes park which is about seven thousand and then we took a trip into rocky mountain national park which is at twelve seven all the way the top so far have forty thousand feet twice the height of mount everest. Okay we got that so far. I'm at twelve thousand seven hundred feet up this visitor center at rocky mountain i with the frozen tundra behind it all right right. Isn't it beautiful down. I'm going travelling down in this four ton vehicle that i have and the whole family and we're all looking out at the mountains and everybody's happy and oh look there and suddenly i reach for the for the brake pedal in. It's no longer there. It goes all the way to the floor. Back it off a couple of times and i say oh my gosh. What a time to run out of brake fluid. So i back off a couple of times and pump. It and i got pedal. Okay so i said oh well you know. I wonder what that what was i. Go along a little far. What you just said. I wonder what that was. You didn't pull over immediately to like check to see if you and fluid no. I didn't do it. Survived this only going about twenty miles an hour. And there wasn't much of a great and and pedal again and and so i let it off in a little while later. I try to go to the four okay. Let's back up a minute. Yeah we've had you been doing just before you lost pedal had my foot on the brake. You didn't you. Were going down in the lower gear descending from the visitor center on that whiny rolled right on. Why d- roach. Everyone uses their brakes on. But you didn't. This is important now. i'm hesitating sure. The jury should note that the witness is hesitating badgering the witness. I'm i'm guessing. I wasn't using them very often. Well maybe you had been parked however prior to this. Yes for about an hour drive before you stepped on the break and lost the pedal. How long have you been ten minutes. Ten minutes hardly enough time. Yeah we've lost a brace in the manner that my brother is about the exact right. No i i agree. I absolutely agree. Had nothing to do with it okay. Now here's the rest of the story. So i'm i every once in awhile. I reached for the pedal. And there's nothing there it up. And i've got brakes slow down and do that again. And again we get down to estes park which is to flat which is at seven thousand and pull over and i stopped and i say i'm going to go out and check my cylinder but suddenly realized that i've got my full pedal again i've got breaks and and from.

"I hate apple. There's always gonna be somebody like what's wrong with apple. I love my apple. Like the apple has defenders right. Like how do you build a brand where people go to bat for that brand as if you were a family member and then you have the samsung folks which they were talking about. Did bring a scan of those folks and they said the same thing and they said basically had the flip it was like the hatred of apple came out. It was good. Yeah apple apple. Blue something observer. It does what else found interesting about the study they did was it wasn't like there was apple fans and there was samsung fans right. There was apple fans and there was people who hated apple so the ones that bought samsung. They weren't doing it because they had brand loyalty towards samsung. They were buying it because they didn't want apple so think about like other brands like that has to be showing up in a lot other ways. Think about well actually brought up. Gary v a lot of that love gary v and there's a lot of people they hate the raw hustle of gary v. Doesn't it's not good or bad but it's like it's a flavor yeah Grant cartoons another great one. Yeah either love or you hate them. There's not really an in between it's not like oh i can just kind of i'm kind of miss about either. Nah yeah and i think that's a big of getting a brand rate is got to stand for something and you've got to have people that like what you stand for and people that don't like what you stand for but you've got to stand for something that's not right around. It's just yeah. How do you wanna show up. And what do you want to do with your brand now. And i it was. It was a very very fascinating study. Like i just found it so interesting that you know you've got people when they were talking about apple you've got people that will literally go to bat for the brand if we're talking crap. Yeah you've got people that like. Every time a product comes out. They go by the product just because that logos on it wait in line and all that stuff so i guess to to pose it back to the listener wonder is like how do you want to be identified with your brand and think being very intentional with that before you may get too deep into things or start going in each direction. That's almost like a north star. That is internal like this this compass that you can have in define for yourself and choose like hey. This is how i want to show up. But also this is how i want people to identify with my brand in whatever i'm creating because i know and you know we all know that what we're creating isn't just to create some random crap out there like there's a purpose behind it yeah there's a ripple effect of what is that thing that we want to push a push out but like give to the world right and certain people will attach to and do something with Some people might buy burritos for you. People might share. You know what i mean. That's how loyal customers become a thing. That's why we sometimes get hate mail when we changed the intro of our podcast. It's actually love talking earlier. Layered in love. We were going to change our logo with our rebrand of our website. We're like we're gonna make small tweaks she's like. I'm really attached to the logo change in too much so that might be one. We don't touch. We descend background a little. Bit to match okay. Okay believe we've got to be careful to not go too far away from the brand identity that people have associated s with right like people associated as certain brand and if we were to go and change the image changed the the intro. Get super serious on our podcast. Where we're just straight laced like perfect interviewers. Now people would probably check out. They'd be like i signed up for you know like adding ever going to happen. We are studying into warner's book on how to be a better interviewer be into never from extra jeep. You're just wondering yeah very true. So yeah what else. We got mad. Well another another thing. That i found interesting about that video was he was talking about. There's a lot of out there that are like well. I don't i don't do brands. I don't wear shirts with brands on it. I don't joe off logos. I don't do brands at all the brands in actually going straight up rocky national estes park shirt which is from the town got back from and this is a rocky mountain national park hat which is right on the head. Yesterday you had an estes park hat. Esther park brewery hat. Yes so we know where his loyalty lies in colorado collar out unbranded. Yeah well the the point that they were making those like even the people that go out there and say like i don't attach to brands. I don't like brands That's your brand. Yeah right your brand is somebody who doesn't want to be identified with brands and you are like you are the same as the people who do identify with brand except what you identify with is that you don't like to wear or publicized brands which is interesting. Because there's i don't know what it is but yeah. All of this stuff is happening in our customers. Our listeners or viewers minds that we should definitely be understanding thinking about at least being proactive. With like how do we want to put herself in the world. That's why we're like this website. We're getting redone right now. By studio one design. Greg mirrlees recommend those guys tell him we sent you. They also did our hustle and flow chart shirt logo today. Yeah the one that is wildly popular. Yes they You'll you'll love this this This whole thing. But it's gonna be an extension of us. It's going to be No more evergreen profits dot com. That's basically not really us yet. I still go there now because we haven't changed it over to go there when it's rebranded and you'll see the difference. Yeah bill see how. This is how we have been thinking through our brand. And we've hired someone greg and his team who understands our brand actually listens. Hi greg and so like it's really cool to have someone to help further our brand but also it's up to us to figure out like okay. Is that really how we wanna.

"Cuz the Navy, let him find F-18 out to Reno earlier but for the rest of the Squadron so that he could be there that weekend, get married because they were all even like Friday Saturday and you wouldn't it was a Saturday. It was a Sunday morning race at that time. It wasn't dead. But it is now and so, yeah. So then we got married and he literally got out of plane and I got on a plane and the, you know, kind of carried on. But we spent pretty much our first year of marriage apart. Like a birthday anniversary. He was in Kandahar randomly and I was in cable, so we had ice cream over zoom, we're going now. So we did have a big white wedding and the Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, and September 2011. So just make up for it. Yeah, military life, kind of makes things challenging, especially dual military, and you guys were two different services, so it looks like. Let's make it more and more and more complicated and try and like figure it out and civil engineers deploy a lot, and the Air Force. So, like, at the time, they were, like, six months on six months off. So, I actually, they tried to pass me three times. I got back in March, and I was pcsing, actually had PCS orders for June. And I tried to ask me three times for July and August of that year, I was dead. Home for six months before I left again. But luckily PCS orders was like, can't can't tell me again, but that's the way it was. We were gone all the time. Yeah. And that's, I think that's kind of why, you know, I ended up taking like it was just, I was in just come from the month before became joint staff and I was in the j3, I was in the engineering side and the irony was that I was sourcing Engineers to deploy them and it was helpful. I guess I had deployed especially under such a joint environment cuz I kind of knew the label and with the other services engineers and how they laid down their forces to be able to deploy them. But God and so going to like air staff. I would have been like the more natural progression. But, you know, when to roll the dice see where I could go by actually living with my husband for the first time. And, you know, cuz I'd having a family at that point, it was, you know, five and were you able you were able to get out a little bit early. Weren't they doing something? Where you go to a chance to leave the military early again. Yeah. So I got to I qualified by Walking Dead. 19 days for the temporary early, retirement Authority in during sequestration when sequestration head..

"And we're back. It is July 12th. And this is technically day 7 of the Harris US tour and we are about to leave Estes Park Colorado. Correct song by Julie's like quizzing me truthfully. I have no idea where we are driving. You've done a lot of driving and yeah, we've you know, how many miles we've done already. I think over a thousand something thirteen. Almost fourteen hundred miles since we slept in Dallas. Yeah, and the Audi RS6 Avant is doing fantastic. Yes, yes, we gave it a name. I think we, I think we christened it already after the salesman that sold us the Audi. The Audi salesman named already should have planned that from birth. Probably already the Audi. So we are leaving are on our way to where Jackson Hole Wyoming is next, which is a total of how long how many miles going to be. I didn't count them but 8 and 1/2 to 9 and 1/2 hours through the mountains, we'll see how it goes, but raise the bleeding planned for tomorrow, right? That'll be problems. Most of Wyoming, right? One of our last big day long drives. I would think That will have for a while, cuz we're going to stay, how many days in Jacksonville, four days in Jackson Hole. And then after we're in Jackson Hole, do you have any idea where we're going next? You don't know. So the only thing we know for sure is the next real stop. We have is going to be in about a month in central California. Yes, for Monterey car week in Jacksonville in there, who knows? We'll see, I guess it was, right? So we had someone invite us up to Canada was right on the border of Montana so which we my boss, who knows. Yes. Honestly we do want to go to Yellowstone. Yes. So Grand so Jackson Hole Grand Teton and Yellowstone, will be our next week's worth of travels, right? Because the little sprog obviously hasn't been yellowed. Exactly. And you know, it's kind of funny as we're blasting past all these beautiful you know, mountains and scenes and we saw a moose yesterday. Yeah, that was, you know, we put all over by the way, we're posting pictures and videos on a gram at at Tim and Julie Harris, so if you're not, if you're at all curious about our 2-month law and we are thinking probably twenty State US tour, you can obviously follow us along At on, at Tim and Julie Harris., but it is kind of funny to watch. So in the back seat at, you know, 7/2 years old, who she's essentially, you know, just plugging away at her devices or, you know, growling about Greg playing pink or her stuffed animals or, and then, here we go, past the moose, and we have to point it out to her. She's like, oh, cool. And there's can I pet him? Yeah, exactly. Well. So, so far along are your observations cuz we've been on this is real estate coaching radio the nation's number one, you know, real estate podcast. And as such we have been paying close attention to any of the real estate things, we've gone away owned, by the way..

"Is good. I mean, you know, where we are in Taos, New Mexico. We're seeing a lot of people that obviously exercise. And this is a, you know, in the winter, this place is all about, you know, skiing and sporty involved, right? And you can tell, if people look massively different than some of the other places. We've we've that, you know, I don't know how my head or my brain went from talking about pigs to talking about people, but I don't know, you may need a break, I mean break down. But so, what are you observing from our experience? Thus far? You know, I was thinking about, you know, we started the day in Roswell because, you know, we have kind of a fleeting, you know, interest in this whole alien business and we've, we've followed that from time to time and, and, you know, the reporting on that varies from the sublime to the ridiculous, for sure. And a lot of it was very campy but then there's also the scientific stuff. I forget off before we went to this, the UFO Museum and scientific research center, which was also very. You know, roadside can't be type of thing. But what I was noticing a was there was a lot of sort of overly interested. Guys looking I think they were spending like the whole day. They're like, no, it was, it was a people were staying for like, several days there to go to all the way in charge these stories. Yes, I'm at, frankly, I was ready to get out of there after about 15, I know. So it's like okay so there's there's that. But then I also was noticing like maybe because of some of the displays were so dead. Artsy-fartsy, you know, put together is is how skeptical in general. People are like you know, that's just that's just a myth or whatever and yet there's this scientific stuff. The government is putting out about actual Navy officers, observing actual. You know, I think they've renamed them. They're not UFOs anymore, there something else that sounds a little less threatening. So I was just kind of watching you're talking about that report that came out two weeks ago. Yeah, so in case you guys don't know this frankly if you don't know it you're probably going to live a long healthy life, you'll be fine. You'll need to notice. But if you're just mildly curious, there was a report that came out. I think it was two weeks ago that that I frankly didn't really reveal anything. But in essence it basically said the government is acknowledging. The fact that there's I think they're uae's, right? Yes. And identify page something great. When you do that till you're in, make the fan speed. You're active in louder, right? So we're going to go with that. So the reality of it is is that they are admitting now that there's some u a e s and they are admitting right now that the FAQ I said the people are going to, you know, they're gonna have to eventually come to terms with the heck. These things are so I'm all right. I'll turn on the air-conditioning sensor, nicely complaining. All right, so that's fine. Yeah. Anything better. Yes, thank you. Where we're going from being in the sun to air conditioning and remember where we were when we started the day it was a hundred degrees now it's 72, right. So as far as the aliens stuff goes who knows, right? If she knows just curious to see how people take in the information, and, you know, put it in the grinder and what they end up thinking about it. So that's where we started the day. And then we just arrived here in Taos, which is beautiful. We went through an incredible rain shower, maybe lasted. I don't know, twenty minutes and the temperature dropped thirty degrees. And so of course, the only wanted to know if it was going to snow drop 30° in like 5 minutes, it was amazing. Might snow Zoey, just be patient, you might get some snow. Yes, but it smells really good because there's so many different plants. It's weird to you, but it's normal to birth. We'll live around here, and it's just refreshing. So that's part of our big adventure. But you know, when we were driving through so many of when we're all that land on either side of the road and I was thinking, I hope that people get the opportunity to see not just, you know, there's the open road that's fine, but not just hundreds of Acres or thousands of Acres. I'm pretty sure we were looking at millions of Acres outside found. It would have a little ranch entrance. So and so's Ranch, but you couldn't really tell what they were ranching until you looked way off hundreds of acres and you'd see a herd of tiny little dots which had to be cuddled, you know, I mean these are major operations. Do you remember when we were in Montana? And this was years ago and we were in Big Sky and we were looking, it was around the 4th of July which is ironically around the same time there and I remember looking up at the sky and you could actually see cuz the sky was so clear. You could actually see the bend of this. Apparently, you remember that though. That was amazing. So what we experienced a dog, Driving here with something very similar because obviously you couldn't see the curvature of the Earth from, you know, the ground level. But you the fact that you could see for so many miles and those had to be hundreds of, I mean, it's even pause is even more than that. We're able to see on both sides. It's it's extraordinary to cuz we're only we're often out there driving by ourselves and nobody else was driving there. So he can you chill sister. Doing your best bet. She's very lucky to spend the car for 5 hours. She's doing good though. Yeah, so I mean, that was, those are the types of things visually that once you see them at sort of does cause something emotional, at least I feel it's amazing. Give you a bit of hard reset. It, does, you know, it's good to be just out in a different environment and different things. So, that's pretty much our take on the day. This was not a super long drive. We're still in the same state for example, but we're staying in a lovely place. By the way, if you guys ever get up here to Taos, El Monte Sagrado, which I believe, means the sacred Mountain. So, and I thought a small around here somewhere. So yeah. Oh, I see what you're working towards. Yeah. Okay. Where are we going after this? What's the next destination? Walk around house. After this will be driving north to Colorado, and eventually end up in College Park. So maybe we stay in Taos, maybe tomorrow too. Yeah, I'm done with that. Okay. And we'll go up to Estes Park and then after that, we're going to definitely head towards Montana, indeed. Okay, so what will give if you are in around Taos, New Mexico, Would hang out for Julie and I will be here. And Zoe who's about the end of her? Patience patience. I think she's about to blow a baby few. So we're gonna have to run this podcast a little bit off. Yeah. So do you have anything you want to say? Here's your microphone. You want to say anything a little girl? So go ahead, talk. No, don't be silly. What do you want to say about? What do you think about the trip so far? That's right. That is funny. Why are we at a really fancy? It's still sitting in the car. Has a good observation point. So what do you think? So we're listening to a book called the graveyard book. Yes by Neil Gaiman Gaiman and Zoe. What do you think about the book club you like it or love it? Okay, can you tell him what the book is about? It's pretty complicated. It is. And this is the second, or third time that you. And I believe it's always first time, but if you guys have a chance to listen to something that's off of the real estate menu, which is good. Yep. It's the graveyard book. Yeah, we are finishing the book. No tomorrow. Sweetie tomorrow. Yep. So there you go. Yes. That stays podcast. We're going to when we have a little bit were talk about with you guys. We certainly will. But in the meantime, thank you for all your great feedback on our experience so far. And we are on the road for two months and we're obviously visiting different towns and communities. We're going to be podcasting live every work day and we're going to be sharing with you. "That's absolutely incredible. My understanding is the even though we're we're what midway through march at this point out. Today is the ides of march. Beware her either. My gosh how fitting now My understanding is is that we also have to beware of april because we can get some pretty intense storms in april as well. Oh no question. The april's our second snowiest month on average when you look back and april can deliver is well. March typically has the biggest storm potential. But yeah april's it's not far behind. They can be even wetter and heavier with more power outage potential. But yeah april's coming something to look over to Snowfall totals in northern colorado. Estes park. I think very grateful for the two plus feet of snow. They got. yeah you know. It's really interesting when you look at the totals. We were thinking about a foot in greeley. You probably got a little bit more than that Fort collins potentially thirty inches and there were places in west fort collins. It certainly got that and then you work your way up into the horse tooth area. We're looking at three feet Three feet up towards Three or four feet. In fact red feather up towards pearl ridge road. Three to four feet wrapping all the way down through nederland on top indian peaks. Long speak three to four feet. All the way down into rollins ville in the heart of the denver metro area. Down i. twenty five. Two feet was a pretty common number. Yeah to be sure now. Here's the big question as we're all breaking. Our backs was several this heavy snow because oh we don't wanna fined by the snow the by the sidewalk police if we don't have snow cleared. I can't believe they're going to enforce that. Chris but Is there any chance now. Getting into what the low to mid thirties today any chance of any melting. Anytime soon. i think so. I think you know the soda angles. A little higher in large so we'll get some sun today and then the temperatures will be above freezing. I think by this afternoon at least for a few hours now. There is a small store magnitude. Smaller coming at us for tuesday afternoon tuesday night which will kind of brushes. We could get a dusting for bat. So that'll kind of slow down the melt but then after that exit by the time we get into thursday friday saturday. Looks like we could be in the fifties now. There is something to look forward to. Meanwhile back to estes park for electric. Oh this morning. I know you're very busy. And so appreciate your taking the time to keep us up to speed. Two feet of snow equals two inches of water. Is that correct. So i was taking a close look at this. That's an excellent question. Really one of the questions of the day because we felt this down is it a drought buster. How much rain you know. Would this equal or liquid as we call it so it looks like anywhere from two to four inches of liquid up there in the foothills. That is excellent. let's just say over the last fourteen months. We're running a deficit of about five or six inches up in the foothills. So this definitely makes up a lot of ground gale and you know even across the front range this is a million dollar moisture storm because we ended up with almost two and a half inches at liquid down here. Well the storm certainly slow to get here. And i'm sure you saw no shortage of snark texting on social media because people were like. Oh hey where's the storm but when it did get here at got here with a vengeance you guys nailed it. Yeah i think that's natural You know but I i was never. I was never worried. To be perfectly honest. I thought the upslope flow is just undeniable and it was just a matter sometimes..

At the time Index tag, Kenny kicked it up a notch, pioneering the vertical integration off the whole industry. He risked everything they had by building an operation. But the price freeze was on the in product. It wasn't on the cattle. Problem in in the beef industry is the rob material is about 70% of your cost, and so by freezing the back end or the meat prices the front end, the cattle prices went way up. Because cattle feeders didn't want to have their profits squeezed and they can hold onto their cattle until the price freeze was over. So the meat packers had to pay them a lot more to get any of their cattle, which eliminated the Packers profits and threatened to turn their business in the daily losses. People start saying, You know there's gonna be a shortage of me because they can't produce it at this level. Well, there wasn't really any shortage of me.
