"Understand what your child is going through but love your child. You love your neighbor. You love your child. You do to them as you would want them to do to you. And that may be in part you want them to know the actual truth but you also want to understand. They're going through something one through something but you also need to know that just because your child is going through something does not mean that you can impose what they are going through on other people and there are more of those other people than there are of you in. This is where crazy town comes to town and start demanding that the rest of us go along with an agenda and an idea and a philosophy in a non scientific. I e philosophical pseudoscientific idea and parents are starting to resent because parents are starting to see it crop up in schools in ways. That defy something physically is going on here in. I might add knowing you're in the minority even when you think you're right no we you are in the minority. Even when you think you are right you may think you are right. No you're in the minority. I i've got a friend who's probably listening right now. He is very concerned with heritage one of the issues. He faults his governor. Brian kip on that. That he doesn't think gives done enough to preserve the heritage of the south. He does not like it when i talk about slavery in the civil war and he makes some valid points that you may not want to run from. But you shouldn't run from because he's got some elon points there in some of what he says. I disagree with him on some and he disagrees with me on something. And i just i. It's i think you gotta know when you're the minority though. And he is self aware enough to realize the minority some people however in the minority on topics and they think they're in the majority and because they think they're the majority they behave as if they're in the majority and it further marginalize is.

White House Plan Calls for Vaccines or Testing for Millions
"President biden deciding that he's going to mandate and i've gotta tell you i i find it deeply divisive. I think the president should have taken a different approach. Because i think the approach he took is one. That's gonna hardened positions and make it harder for people to want to get vaccinated. I am pro vaccine. I'm anti mandate. I think the vaccines work. I'm proof the vaccines work My wife is as well There are breakthrough cases but again. This is part of the problem. It now turns out. The media has overstated breakthrough cases. It turns they were talking to like almost anyone could get a mild case of the delta various their vaccinate turns out. It's one in five thousand one in five thousand. You have greater risks from birth control medicine than you do from a vaccine and yet We're not worried about birth control medicine. If people are freaked out about the vaccine it works. The problem though is that the president was deeply divisive in how he approached it. Here's the start of his speech even as the delta very nineteen has kobe nineteen has been hitting this country hard. We have the tools to combat the virus if we can come together the country and use those tools. If we raise our vaccination rate protect ourselves and others with masking expanded testing and identify people who are infected we can and we will turn the tide cove nineteen will take a lot of hard work is gonna take some time. Many of us are frustrated with the nearly eighty million americans of course still not vaccinated even though the vaccine is safe effective and free.

Pete Erickson: Will AI Create the Smart Home of the Future?
"If you look at google. Amazon rolled out similar technology with making suggestions for the consumer about. Hey we've noticed the following behavior or the following pattern. Do you want to automate that. Would you like that just happened and if we can do in that way we believe that's much better way to be able to interact with the consumer in a way that shouldn't alarm them should concern them. They won't get nervous about Those things happening so And machine learning we think are going to continue to move forward and ashley push us or bite significantly on the smart smart home in the future The other thing is that things are things are becoming more connected. Not less connected. We'll just continue to see that everything that that comes out has some connection and even not for control. It's for monitor. i wanna understand. What is the energy consumption of these devices. Sure can be living more more ecologically by having those things only operate during these times of the day that could help the power grid could help my energy savings help. The energy cost savings alone. Eric what are the things that those that these devices could do and then having nadal running in the background to to live the best i possibly can on saving. Conserving were possible to To also help planet so those are all things that we think are are certainly on their way incoming today while i certainly can appreciate especially the the efficiency i think our homes are Are incredibly inefficient. The way that we're running them today And and look forward to How ai machine learning can really just help. Help us create The most efficient way we can live in a reduced usage and Actually improve experience at the end of the day. And i think that's one of the things i i i hear coming out of this talk. Is that really. It's about improving our experience. The experience in our homes or even possibly where we work in terms of like our lighting our our Our surroundings the sounds that are surrounding us. our ability to interact and control. And you know it's it's funny. I always go back to the Kinda the text messaging a revolution. That happened When we went from using our voice to to a synchronous texting a lot of people couldn't imagine that that would actually happen that that voice calls would one day be you know would would not be the primary way that we would communicate and i think the same thing is going to happen with our home is just the way that we interact and communicate with our home's gonna change. We can't imagine right now not going to odile or opening up an app and then controlling that app. But but we're not. I think already there. It just hasn't ruled out yet on on on a broad basis but it certainly it's exciting. I think that The the home of the future is a is a place that does lend itself to just a better experience overall and What i really appreciate. What you said is a healthier
Pete Erickson: Analyzing the Room for Conversational Assistants in Daily Life
"Certainly see a day when you will invite a conversational assistant as a third party to the conversation and allow them to Capture data capture biometric data capture information. That is sensitive and also highly relevant to doing verification so the conversation can flow freely between the two humans without putting the cognitive load on the customer service agent who's attempting to maintain a relationship and a positive call experience as opposed to like collecting the nuts and bolts You know there's still a large number of consumers that prefer to do banking in person or on the phone Very large. I think larger than most anticipate expect. And so you know. There's still a lot of opportunity to add intelligence into that conversation and leverage the technology a voice to bring it full circle and And so. I think that there's certainly some some benefits there. What erica is to. Bank of america is huge. It's certainly the trend. That banks are if not applying practically implementing like thinking about spending a lot of time thinking there. 'cause there's a lot of opportunity to improve mobile experience especially when you think about adaptability. There's there's a lot of value there but But yeah we'll see we'll see we'll see how much investments going to pour into the space Over the next few years i think the customer servicing and those types of use cases probably be the majority of the investment over the next two to three years. And then we'll see certainly agree with you there. I think. I think i think the customer service the whole that whole industry is is teeming with teaming with opportunity in the in the boys tech industry and there is a lot of focus in that market both from the major players but then also allow third party platforms and developers and folks as service the call centers bases you know stay tuned for a lot of innovation in those areas.

Kate Erickson on Creating a Content Production Plan
"Cates. Say what's up to fire nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with well. Fire nation so excited to be on the mic with you today. John thanks for inviting me on the show super happy to be here and one thing that i believe about being successful that i think a lot of people would probably disagree with is the fact that you do not have to even have like ever experienced anything entrepreneurial in your life up until the point that you decide to commit to becoming a successful entrepreneur. I don't think you have to have that experience or like have grown up working. Lemonade stands or any of that stuff. That i typically hear from entrepreneurs was their childhood. Unlike many never did any of that stuff. That's you and me both. By the way. I was in fact what i consider quite a lazy as a child growing up i was like as long as i have twenty bucks in my pocket. That's all i need. A dollar more will be a waste of my time and energy. So let's go to the movies or south things so with you on that. Not born in entrepreneur but it is possible for anybody who wants it and fire nation. Speaking of wanting it's part of wanting it's going to be creating a content production plan because that's going to be part of succeeding in that want. And of course. I am brought. I have brought the engine of entrepreneurs on fire to rock the mic on this topic. We're gonna be getting into her. Insanely awesome seven step content production plan. But before we do. Let's give people a little context because you went from account executive at an advertising and marketing agency to being the engine on fire. So let's just chat about those first few months in the business and what. It was like finding your way as an entrepreneur. Yeah i mean. Does it super on topic. I guess with my belief that you know. I don't really know a ton about entrepreneurship. When i left my job and joined you on team and so those first few months were like drinking from a fire hose. My eyes were popping out of my head. Half the time there so much terminology and things that i was learning that i just. I didn't even know that they existed. So those first few months were a little. I guess i would say maybe a little overwhelming just from the respect of i wanted to be quote unquote caught up so fast and like so badly to wear like i just wanted to understand everything so really had to take a step back and kind of coach myself through which john you helped him with many times. It's like i wanted to be at step one hundred but i needed to be okay with the fact that i was at step one and Taking a step back and appreciating like the little steps in the little lessons that i was learning knowing that those would all add up and bring me to step one hundred eventually. That was really key in helping me at one. Enjoy the journey and two. I just feel like. I was able to absorb things a lot better. I feel like it served me really well to take the time to learn those things even though as anxious and wanted to skip ahead But to really take the time to learn those things. Because then when i did get to step fifty i mean very few times. Do i feel. I've had to like reverse engineer my myself like back to a lesson that i quote unquote skipped. Because i really didn't get much took the time to learn the things to you know. Make myself better and learn how to be a great entrepreneur.

Productivity For Entrepreneurs With Kate Erickson
"All right. Let's get going. I'm excited to welcome our guest today. Erickson to the show first and foremost kate. Thank you so much for being here. I'm super excited to be here. Ran and things so much for inviting me absolutely one. The reason i'm excited we get to talk about something that every personal brand entrepreneur out there can relate to which is productivity now at first. That's not the sexiest topic. I'll admit that but it's definitely a game changer. But i'd like to hear from you. You can help set the stage here. Why is something like productivity so important for us. Okay well i think. Productivity is super sexy. That's my jam. But i can totally understand where coming out from like stuff. I end up talking about system. Sign management productivity focused disciplined. They're kind of like a lot of like the entrepreneur game but productivity so critical because when we have a goal when we have a vision when we have a mission like it's so clear to us right and then many entrepreneurs because we're so excited about that vision were so excited about that mission. Were building our brand. We're doing we're being creative like doing all. The things that entrepreneurs are known for the problem is that oftentimes we get caught up working in the business or in the brand versus on it and dot can result in the actions that you're taking every single day. Not actually being in alignment with that vision and not mission. So i like to think of productivity as is working on the right things and oftentimes. Unfortunately we end up in the weeds were busy. Were doing a lot and so usually that makes us feel good. Because we're like. Oh man. I worked for like you know twelve hours today and we wanna brag about it when in reality you could probably be accomplishing more in like four hours. If you are focusing on the right things and to me that's productivity. That's like getting the right things done. That are in alignment with your vision and your mission. They're actually moving you forward to where you wanna go here. Well maybe we can get like specific like what are some like right things and maybe it's different for everybody. But what would you classify as right things versus you know the in the business thinks yeah absolutely so it's definitely going to be different for everyone you know. Everyone's brand and business and podcast and youtube channel and like whatever they have set up is going to be different. But i think the most critical thing to think about and be tracking. When you're wondering like okay. Am i working on the right things like you need to have a measurement you need to understand that the actions you're taking are actually bringing results so if you think about it from roi perspective return on investment and you think of the investment as your time. Usually people talk about roi in terms of like okay. I spent this much money. How much did i get back like. We need to be thinking about that as the investment. Being our time to okay. I spent this much time on this activity. What did i get and you need to start. Having some type of measurement like we talk about smart goals a lot specific measurable attainable relevant and time bound and measurement so important because that measurement is what tells you that you are working on the right things and it alerts you when you're working on the wrong things because you don't see results from it. So let me give you just a random example of this. Like i have received so many clubhouse invites like everyone wants to be on clubhouse right now right i think it sounds like an incredible platform super awesome. I like social media. I love instagram. i'm on facebook for groups. we've got twitter you know. The platforms are endless. Right when i think about the time that i invest in social media. I need to look at what the highest roi for me is and when i relate that to my business and my business goals and where i want my business to go my highest. Roi is on facebook. Why because i'm on facebook to moderate and be an engaged active member in groups those groups i can attribute actual revenue in my business and life along like literally lifelong relationships that i've created from those groups so to me if i'm gonna join clubhouse beyond instagram and beyond facebook. Mb on twitter. And like you know all these other platforms. There's probably so many. Don't even know about if i'm really trying to be on all those platforms honestly like my measurement is sinking my facebook's hi my instagram. I have great engagement. There and i make great relationships on instagram. I only have so much time. So i can't just keep adding adding adding expecting like dot measurement to continue. Going up is only going to start going down when i'm putting myself on platforms. That many times is a distraction. So you just have to keep that measurement and minds like you can't be everywhere you can't do everything so be wise about the things that you are choosing to work on. Make sure that they're equaling some type of roi.

How To Plan To Age Well
"With me today is Stephanie Erickson. She has a book called plan for aging. Well, there's definitely something we should all be doing. So thanks for joining me Stephanie off. My pleasure. Thank you so much. So we were chatting before about your book and there was a three chapters that really interested me one is a topic. I talked about a lot putting together a team. But we also touched a little bit on how we age correctly how we age maybe not as correctly and then planning not just for your financial and physical health, but also the health of your soul, so can we start with maybe planning for our excuse me talking about how people aged well and how they age not so often. Yeah. Well, I think first of all there's a range of what's well and what's not well, so the first thing is we have to Define what that means to our self, right? Cuz a lot of people and I think women in particular, I know me and my friends we talk a lot about aging and we're talking about our skin. We're talking about our wrinkles. We're talking about what our body changes and that is a piece of Aging but there's the other part which you alluded to and we'll get to which is the heart and the soul of Aging but in terms like in in relationship to the book when I'm talking about aging well, I'm talking about meeting all of those needs that we Have those holistic needs the body mind and soul and doing that in a way where we are transparent and inclusive with our family sharing what our expectations are our value systems in conversations prior to a crisis cuz most of us end up reacting once there is one and we forget to plan in advance. So really I think aging well is about having some forethought thinking in advance about what you want your life to be as you get older and then sharing that plan and getting the buy-in from those around you that makes sense and as most listeners know, I have a grandmother that's a hundred thousand two and half so you definitely want to plan because I don't think most of us at the beginning of our adult life expect to live to be over a hundred and she did say three years ago three and a half years ago. She was striving to hit a hundred and five and this was right. I know right after my dad her oldest son had passed away that happened. Or 99th birthday day. We interned him at the military cemetery and I was like Fifty and a quarter and I just remember thinking I can't I can't there's a exhausted. There's no way I'm quite feel the same right now. So, you know, I'm all about quality mean if I can live to be a hundred and two and do all the things that I enjoy or not. Maybe mm but most of the things I enjoy great if not not interested. So, is there a way of kind of planning so people understand what our what our opinion of quality is? Cuz make sure I say that right quality not quantity. Well you were saying what you were saying is that you you want to live longer than a long as you can live in a way that's comfortable for you. And so I think that's about rethinking what our own expectations are in terms of what we're going to be able to do physically because the reality is as well. Get older we will have more physical difficulty moving around. I'm sorry. I'm not I'm very fit right now and very strong and fifty but I'm definitely not the same as I was when I was twenty-five. I was more fit and even stronger right? And so when I'm ninety I might still be really strong but that doesn't mean that I going to be able to you know, pump out Thirty push-ups or something, right? So I think we need to be realistic about what we mean and I think part of the challenge that I see is that people connect aging with that physical body and we're not addressing the other parts of us because I think even if our body slows down there are things that we can do internally that can bring us a lot of fulfillment and satisfaction. So even if our body is not is not moving in the same way. We can still feel fulfilled and that to me is the real challenge about aging well as is getting in touch with that part definitely having a purpose and and if you have a purpose then you can log Fulfilled is important. So can we touch on that a little bit before we move on to the other topics? We're going to talk about. Yeah, I think a purpose is is good and they, you know, our our identification so much is about the roles that we play and so much around work, right? So when people when you meet someone you'll say so what do you do? It's not like wage. Who are you? What are your about? It's what do you do? So everything is about you know, our role as a social worker. I'm a mom. I'm a wife, you know, it's all of these roles and so I think finding a purpose beyond what those rules are is really important and to start to find that deeper part of who we are earlier on because eventually we won't be working wage. Eventually. Our kids won't need us in the same way, you know, so if I'm not a social worker, who am I if I'm not caring for kids who are saying mommy, mommy, mommy every 15 minutes then who am I I need job. Find something else within me that makes me me that I can carry on Beyond and I think for me that's about the purpose is knowing who you are in another way outside of those traditional roles.

"This message. That's the purdue i mean. Listen this this gives him an opening. And now there's a new opening that is going to fly under the radar except with all the right people who need it to rally. Here's chuck schumer. Yesterday on capitol hill. On his first day of office he will game transgender students. Access to sports bathrooms and locker rooms in accordance with their gender identity. And all federally funded schools. Do you think he has the ability to do this. And do you agree with this decision. I agree with the decision. And i know he'll check things out thoroughly legally yup. So they're they're coming for your daughter's bathrooms again. This is one of those issues. Frankly that actually did get trump in two thousand sixteen The this culture war movement from the left on transgenderism really legitimately Led to people who otherwise would have voted democrat voting for donald trump. That they're rushing. This can't really help themselves. They are captured by the progressives at this point they are genuinely captured by the progressive. This point and this is why. Joe biden privately. I suspect really doesn't want us off in warnock to win. I actually believe that biden understands that if often wore knock win and the democrats take the senate that he is so captured in the end in his entire agenda is captured by the left and he won't be able to stand up till he won't be able to tell his own side no no he understands that his agenda won't go far but remember joe by the whole reason joe biden ran according to him was just to stop. Donald trump wasn't to get anything done. The man's been there for fifty years. He's got nothing to do. He's got nothing he wants to get done. He's been there for fifty years ever did it or he's already done. It has nothing left. He just wanted to stop trump. The progressives however want to radically transform american way that joe biden doesn't actually light and when you look at joe biden's picks for his cabinet. They're actually making the left more mad than the right. Suffer neuropathy which we'll get into when we come back she's making everybody man looks like she's going to be the sacrificial lamb for joe biden To throw under the bus to placate the left and the right at the same time but he can't win with the democrats right now and he knows if they get the senate is going to be bad for them who's going to be bad for donald trump if it gets into though because they all do agree to wipe out his agenda which is what they'll do. "L. O. and welcome in his Eric Erickson here across the state of Georgia the full number want to be part of the program eight, seven, seven, nine, seven, Eric, eight, seven, seven, nine, seven, three, seven, four to five apple right now, the governor of Georgia having a press conference about covid nineteen, I want to join that conference live for moments positively in their county. And last week is you know we announced a seven million dollars in reimbursement funds to nursing homes to ensure they are able to meet the federal testing requirements in addition to another thirty, five million dollars in continued staffing assistance to these facilities through the end of two, thousand and twenty. We've been able to accomplish these significant improvements because Georgians had bald in what Dr to me and I have asked them to do and we're very appreciative of that. We said don't fly rounds. We've said at standing outside hospitals. We've done it here at the Capitol at the airport. And in communities all across our state and we said that we needed Georgians to be part of the solution and not part of the problem and I'm very thankful in very proud of the fact that Georgians have stepped up to the plate and had done the right thing. The key is for us. Now to keep doing this, we cannot take our foot off the gas despite what some in the media have chosen to ignore. We've been able to keep businesses open most kids have been able to return to schools and people have been able to go about their lives in a smart responsible way but that is only sustainable if we continue to do our part moving. That's why dot to me and I rolled out for things for fall where mask wash your distance, wash your hands and follow the guidance dot to me and her team continue to put out there. If we all commit to doing the right thing I'm confident that we will continue to move in the right direction in our fight against covid nineteen. We've also made great progress in protecting livelihoods. Georgia's economy is knows firing on all cylinders before the pandemic and it's a testament to the grit and determination of small business owners, entrepreneurs, and hard work..

"So thanks to them for sponsoring the program. Now a little bit more from the debate. Yeah we're. We're GONNA keep going here and this remarkable exchange that I got a real issue with from from Joe by this this this would kind of makes me a little aggravated I have time to do. What's Law Enforcement Group I'm going to take back the owners. Want. To get to another subject, which is the issue of protest in many cities that turned violent in. PORTLAND. Oregon. Especially we had more than one hundred straight days of protests which I think you would agree you talk about peaceful protests many of those turned into riots. Mr Vice. President. You say that people who commit crimes should be held accountable the. Question I have though is as the Democratic nominee and earlier tonight you said that you are the Democratic Party right now have you ever called the Democratic Mayor of Portland or the Democratic governor of Oregon and said, hey you've got to stop this bring in the National Guard do whatever it takes, but you'd stop the days and months of violence in Portland. I don't hold public office now I am a former vice president. I've made it clear I've made it clear. My public statements that the violence should be prosecuted it should be prosecuted and anyone who commits never for the people. Excuse me Sir. You had never called for the leaders in Portland and In Our gun to call in the National Guard and knock off one hundred days of riots they can in fact, take care of it if he just stay out of the way Oh. Here a really here's A. Shot to get the. Young men in the middle of the street and they shot him. Three Hundred A. Brawny thing and. The US marshals. Business don't serve, and by the way you know his own former spokesperson said, you know riots and chaos and violence help us 'cause that's what this is all about who said that I do I? Think Kellyanne? Conway. I, don't think she said she said that adding. So here's but here's the point. Already hello and welcome Erick Erickson here the Eric Erickson show across the state of Georgia the full number if you want to chime in on the debate, you are more than welcome to call in the phone number is eight, seven, seven, nine, seven, Eric Eight, seven, seven, nine, seven, three, seven, four to five,.

"This has national implications as George Story with huge national implications congressman. Doug Collins is expected to announce he's running for the Senate against Kelly. Leffler today Before you cheer on this we need to have a conversation about this. I think he's making a big mistake here. And I like Congressman Collins Tremendously Disley He's a fine guy. I'm not going to be critical of him. I know he would like to get in the Senate. He's not happy being in the minority in the house He does does think he will be more supportive of the president than Kelly Leffler long-term and maybe he will. She has not done a great job of defining herself yet. She still an unknown known She's got some some campaign fundamentals that need to be worked on. But here's the problem. According to the law in Georgia Win a vacancy opens. And the governor appoint someone to fill that role for the US Senate. There's a what's called the jungle primary or the jungle ballot that is all the Republicans and all the Democrats Pile under the ballot together. The governor picked Kelly Leffler for a number of reasons Kelly Leffler flirt is a self made woman a careerist She is a billionaire in her own right and then married a billionaire She owns an NBA Wmba WNBA team. She owns the New York Stock Exchange with her husband. She has a background in crypto currency She grew up on a farm. She's a self made person and the governor wants to expand the Republican base in Georgia at a time demography in Georgia is changing. She's unquestionably a conservative. She has has raised money for the Republicans here in Georgia number of years. She back Mitt Romney she back. Donald Trump Leffler is in fundamentally conservative though not conservative activist. And she's got money she can spin to help. Keep the State Republican. She has cash cash on hand for her campaign now a sum equivalent to all the money raised by Governor Kemp. To run in two thousand. Eighteen Leffler has on hand now to twenty two million. She gave herself Twenty million. She's got two additional means. She's got twenty two million governor. Kim raised twenty. Two million dollars was to run his race So Collins will have to to raise an exorbitant amount of money but here. Here's here's the thing thing and this is the problem and this is why I think Doug Collins is making a mistake under the existing law in Georgia all the Democrats and Republicans pile and together and the Republican Calculus had been that the Democrats would flood the zone with a bunch of candidates. They wouldn't be able to contain themselves in. It is happening. Ralph warnock warnock is getting in You've got matt. Lieberman is already in a couple of others who are getting in and on top of that. You'll just have Kelly Leffler so the Democrats will divide. Divide their vote. If Leffler gets fifty percent plus one vote she automatically gets back into the Senate she doesn't have to go into a run-off if Leffler makes it to a run off and and a Democrat is able to get enough votes to get her into a runoff then leffler has a bigger war chest than the Democrat in in Republicans tend to do better in runoffs in Georgia than Democrats so the advantage is absolutely to the Republicans in a jungle primary and the Democrats. That's no that the Democrats also know that the speaker of the house is no friend of Brian. Kemp he has now decided to discussed Brian Kemp's adoption reform effort of the state. He has tried to scuttle a number of other. Brian Kemp initiatives now he wants to scuttle The Kelly Leffler pick pick not just scuttling. The Kelly left for big. He also wants to help doug column to was a loyal lieutenant of his house now. The speaker of the house in Georgia's scandal plagued at at this point he's going to be an issue in the campaign in two thousand twenty. The speaker of the House helped a number of of criminal defendants and deny justice to a number victims dragged those cases out for a while advertisements have already been shot by some of the victims That will be used in the general election. I know because I've played audio of these victims and I have heard from several asking me to stop playing the audio Because of this campaign the Democrats want to run in. I've been trying to tell the Republicans this so along comes Doug Collins who wants to run for the Senate who lobbies aggressively for the pick and by the way one of the reasons that Doug Collins did not get picked by governorship. There were two main reasons one. The governor's office felt like they needed someone who could raise a massive amount of money and self fund And and that would be leffler not calling and due to they needed someone who could expand the base That was Kelly Leffler in the suburbs. Not Doug Collins who could bring out the Republican base but could he add to the base Cudi expand the party and they're calculus was that she would have an easier time than him. But there's a third reason as well. The third reason is they did not want to sit a precedent for bullying the governor to get picks and The governor's office felt like there was a bullying campaign by trump supporters and others to make it Doug Collins and it would make the governor look weak and it would make him look like trump lackey if if you went that way when the governor has worked very hard over the last year and a half to show himself to be his own man and that has worked for him he is at above fifty percent in every pull out there on his popularity. The governor hugely popular right now a lot of the people who voted against him in two thousand sixteen or eighteen. or saying they'll vote for him in two thousand twenty two because he's proven to be a conservative but also as man and that matters the diehard trump supporters however Don't like that. The diehard trump supporters want on him to show express fealty to the president. And they're mad at him over the Collins thinks. Oh here's the state of play now. The Democrats Georgia do not WanNa jungle primary. The Democrats in Georgia want to rewrite the rules and changed the way the election will be conducted. Even though we're already into the process the process has begun. The process began the moment. Kelly Leffler was sworn in and the Democrats. Don't like that process. So they want to change the rules and they're working with the speaker of the House. David Ralston Chase the rose. Yes David Roulston. The Republican Speaker of the House is working with Democrats in the State House to undermine governor Kemp there is no other way to put it he. He is undermining governor. Kip In this effort. And you need to understand that what's happening. He's working with Democrats. The governor will the secretary of State asked the asked everyone to change the date of qualification for the jungle primary. The reason the secretary of state eight wanted to change the date for qualification is because he's worried about being able if there are a bunch of people on the ballot. He's worried about being able to get ballots. Printed and sent to soldiers sailors airman abroad and Marines and have our armed forces abroad be able to vote in November and so he asked for the time for qualifications to be brought back when everybody else's qualifying the Democrats have seized on this request from Brad Rapids Burger to get the speaker of the House to go along with setting up a primary now again. The Republicans were banking on there or being a jungle primary. You would have all the Democrats pile on the ballot with Kelly Leffler. The Democrats would split their vote up. Kelly Leffler would win without a runoff and save taxpayer dollars. It would ensure her relection are her election it would be good for the Republicans in the state. It would be one last race on which they need to spend a bunch of money win. They're trying to keep the house and the Senate will. The Democrats are working with with the speaker to create a primary process which is a fundamental change of the rules while the game has already been played they want to have the speaker. Is Doug Collins Friend. And once Doug Collins to run against Kelly Leifer offer he wants to beat the governor and he wants to be Kelly Leffler he also wants to beat conservatives. You didn't understand this I it is somewhat interesting here That collins is perceived as being more conservative than Leffler and yet the speaker wants to use Collins to beat the Conservatives why because conservatives in Georgia are showing a good bit of loyalty to Brian Kim and the speaker therefore is upset with conservative. Showing loyalty to Brian Kemp and he thinks they need to to be humbled and a one way to humble call them is to divide them from the governor in and try to force a split on the conservative side between Leffler Supporters Collins supporters. The speaker has managed inch to maintain his position for so long by dividing conservatives and believes that a primary would divide the Conservatives and keep them fractured in. Keep him in power So that no one would be able to unite against the speaker so creating a primary helps the Democrats and helps the speaker. Divide the conservative base. It Hurts Leffler and it it hurts the Republicans now the reason it hurts Leffler. Obviously because she'll have to go into a primary undisputedly Doug Collins a hero to a lot of people in the impeachment trial in the lie in. He's a personally great guy. He's a good man. He's a good congressman. He is a conservative and Leffler will have to run in that race race with him and that primary but what it also does is it gives the Democrats advantage to be able to consolidate behind one person See if you remember. You've got David Perdue on the ballot in November as well and with purdue on the ballot in November and Leffler on the ballot in November. The Democrats are going to have a bunch of candidates. It's because while produce race would go through a primary and you will. It'll be between Cyril rigs. Amigo Theresa Tomlinson. Jon Ossoff They're only one Democrat to focus on. But on the but in the Leffler race there could be five Democrats to focus on and it will prevent even the Democrat running against purdue from getting the message out and so by consolidating primary and making a primary for left the rituals purdue it allows the Democrats Democrats to consolidate behind two candidates. One for purdue and won four Leffler so the Democrats Kratz will be better able to focus their message. Doug Collins doing what he's doing with the speaker and the Democrats fundamentally changes the rules of the election as the campaigns already begun gun and it hands a huge advantage to the Democrats by allowing the Democrats to rapidly consolidate behind one person for purdue I do and one person for Leffler instead of having a million candidates running and no unified message. But there's another thing it does as well. Oh that hurts the Republican Party. In addition to fracturing and let's be clear here the speaker of the House understands the speaker of the house in Georgia understands. This is gonNA fracture conservative. Not just at the state level but at the national level as well well there will be a lot of conservatives who WANNA rush in and help Doug Collins at the national level they will and they'll be right to Doug's been loyal to them they'll be loyal does doug but there will be a lot of people who come in and they WANNA help governor camp as well because governorship has earned a lot of friends and you'll have the pro-life movement now split because a lot oh the pro-life groups in DC. That were skeptical Leffler. She's won them over now and so they'll be split on the race. So what will happen. is you'll have a bunch of divided resources pouring into the state and and you'll have a bunch of Republicans spending money Georgia on a Senate seat win over by the way. Look over here. At the General Assembly's endanger of going to the Democrats Collin's getting in means for every new dollar that goes into that race. There's one less dollar going to protect. The the General Assembly and.

It's Eric Erickson here across the state of Georgia. Thank you all for listening. Thank you for being here for this. I you try to do this Christmas Eve and Christmas and then dwell on these topics as well on Good Friday that really the the most important weakened in human history and because I think we spend so much time on the news of the day and this is so much more important the eternity is more important than the here and now I mentioned before we went to break Emmanuel God with us and I god clearly wants a relationship with us. We see this Christmas. I mean he's willing to come as a babe in a manger a feed trough but think about where he had been. We'll would I went to seminary the very first class. I took was covenant theology before it took the systematics biblical theology or even books of the Bible classes. I took I. I didn't know any better sounded interesting to me. The professor was from Wales. I like Wales. I took the Class A and I loved it. I loved studying the covetous of the Bible it was something I'd never delved into In Church in here I am in seminary getting this in my I gotTa tell you one of the things I love is second Samuel. Seven the Lord's Covenant With David Now when David lived in this house in the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies the king said to Nathan the Prophet see now I dwell in a house of Cedar Cedar but the Ark of God dwells in a tit and Nathan said to the king. Go do all that is in your heart for the Lord. y'All way is with you but that same night. The word of the Lord came to Nathan go and tell my serve David thus says the Lord would you build me a house to dwell in. I have not lived in a house since the day. I brought up the people of Israel zero from Egypt to this day. But I have been moving about in a tit for my dwelling in all places where I have moved with. All the people of Israel did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel saying have you not built a house of Cedar now therefore thus you shall say to my servant David David Thus says the Lord of hosts. I took you from the pasture from following the sheep that you should be prince over my people Israel and I have. I've been with you wherever you were in. have cut off all your enemies from before you and I will make for you a great name like the name of the great ones of the earth and I will appoint in a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that when they may dwell in their own place and be disturbed no more and violent men shall afflict them. No Oh Morris formerly from the time that I pointed judges over my people Israel and I will give you rest from all your enemies moreover the Lord Declares to you that the Lord Yaohua will make you a house a dynasty when your days are fulfilled. And you lie down with your fathers I will raise up your offspring after you who shall come come from your body and I will establish his kingdom he shall build a house for my name and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be to him the father and he shall be to me a son when he commits iniquity. I will discipline him with the Rod of men with the stripes of the sons of men but my steadfast love will not depart from him As I took it from Saul whom I put away from before you and your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me your throne shall the established forever. First of all of this Nathan told David Yeah. Go Go for build. This House. And God doesn't Admonish Nathan in front of people doesn't embarrassing just says No. No no you go back to David and say no instead. Thank you David. But I'm going to build a house for you a dynasty and it's going to be ternal. Don't worry worry about building me house. But here's the thing I love. God says I was in the desert in a tint for my dwelling. Did I ever complained that I ever one more. This is the God out of the universe the maker of Heaven and Earth who brings bread from heaven and water from rocks and raises us up from the dust of the earth and stitches us together in our mothers womb and and he's living in a tent in the desert because he wants a relationship with his people. That's an amazing God. That is an amazing God. He doesn't need a he doesn't need a fancy house he just wants to be with this people. All of human history is God wanting to be with his people. That's amazing that should be encouraging to you. It should be encouraging all of us as going to Comey says behold the days are coming when when I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah not like the covenants which I made with their fathers and the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of Egypt but this coveted which which I will make with the House of Israel after those days I will put my law within them on their hard. I will write it. I will be their God and they shall be my people they they will not teach again each man to his neighbor. Brothers say no the Lord for they will all know me from the least of them to the greatest the Emmanuel principal. God with us is. He wants a relationship with us that should encourage his car that is labor of love with Jill Philips singing from Andrew Peterson's behold the lamb of God album. y'All I gotTa tell you this may be my my favorite modern Christmas album I it is. It's incredible. The Work Andrew Petersons done when we left out the ACAPELLA little mortal flesh rush keeps island that is the surface of the deep and The church over here Watkins Ville and a we've had third day day in there for Georgia's well We've had smalltown poets from Georgia. I try to get songs from people from Georgia from churches in Georgia particularly early for Good Friday. I do and I'm always happy to have churches scum and and I'm always happy. I you know I charge a lot of money to talk but I never recharged churches. I'm always happy to come. It's why would disciplinary and the very first time I ever preached actually I got invited to fly to Colorado to preach each and Macarthur Study Bible with me and I mean I it's GonNa be good. Is Genesis one one. It was a thirty minute sermon. And in who should plopped down in front of me. John MacArthur Arthur himself my sermon. I think it will debate about seven or eight minutes. In fact he sent a note to a mutual for in devours ars that he thought I did great but I spoke too fast. But it's a great distraction from politics and that's why it stresses presses me out to do these shows to plan the music to get the request to how am I going to order the show You know I I do a trial run of the show is the only I speak off the top of my head every today But this I always record a show and I hate to listen to my voice but I do it twice. I do it once here with you now But I do previously recorded show at you never hear it. I hear it myself and I deleted all after I'm done Because I want to get it right because I want the message to be right and I would have tried to be an encouragement but I also want you to get a higher look at who I am and understanding of who I am why I think what I think how what I believe and Everything like that and in my world view and and so those who don't at least understand where I'm coming from and where Christians are coming from. y'All Merry Christmas to you. I closed this program every year. I do this and I close it with the exact.

"Of peace. Welcome it's Eric. Erickson here. The Eric Ericson show across the state of Georgia that's John Mark McMillan and baby son. I loved that Song. You can get all the songs on apple music. I I don't have as maybe maybe I should have a SPA viscount. The podcast for the show is on spotify under Eric Erickson show. I don't normally do spotify but I've got my music list up on Apple Apple Music if you want it You can get these songs. I realize I am a political guy. You can find me on. Hbo You can could find on CNN. You can find me on Fox. I got a syndicated column. I got a website called the resurgent Dot Com. I've got a Daily News. Talk Show across the state of Georgia. You're you're listening to me now and I I really do think it is important to stop at Christmas and Easter and celebrate the most remarkable lavigne in human history and the most remarkable is the resurrection of Christ but we could not get there. But for the birth of Christ the Virgin Birth and Orthodox Christians believe Mary gave birth to a son conceived of the Holy Ghost of the Holy Spirit. Joseph was not his biological father and we should explore why that is so people aren't Christians. Maybe they can understand us a little more and begin. Let let me give you some fancy word. I love fancy words fancy words from seminary And if you're wondering what is I have been going to reform the logical seminary transferred into a PhD program at Southeastern Baptist theological logical seminary A large part as I said earlier because I kept getting asked to preach on Sundays. It felt very weird that people were asking me to preach fill in and preach and I had been seminarian win. These little churches realized I was reformed slightly calvinistic go to church title but I loved seminary. I love being able to checkout politics A day a week and go to class at artists and Marietta they've got a great campus I if you're interested in going to seminary checkout reformed theological seminary Here in Georgia. They have a wonderful campus. In Marietta you can get it off very easy to get off off seventy five a wonderful people and I missed them dearly and I'm actually thinking of transferring out of the PhD program at southeastern going back to Artie S. Just because did I miss being in a classroom with other students. But one of the things you learn or the fancy word. Super Lap Syrian an infrared Syrian. Did God it before or time began. Plan out Christ. Being conceived of the Holy Spirit born of a virgin suffered under pontius pilot being crucified died buried. Read send it into Hell and three days later raising again in ascending into heaven. Or was IT INFRA LAB Syrian. Did he wait until after the fall of man to put this together I just full disclosure. I'm Super Lap Syrian. I believe that this has always been God's plan if you want to ask me why I have no idea. There are things that you cannot understand in Christianity. You really can't. I mean the further you get into explaining the trinity the more likely you are to trip on heresy. It's just some things you can't explain. And don't trust people who have clear explanations for absolutely everything the faith They tend to be making it up themselves. There are some mysteries of faith out there. But in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and the Bible Oh uses a very specific Hebrew were Barat or God created it. It's a type of creation that only God can do God Barat the heavens and the Earth God creates the heavens and the earth earth and ways we can't and this Moses Writing Genesis and Moses a prince of Egypt he was raid to worship the Egyptian gods and he's providing Loudini cosmogonies a theory of the creation of the universe that is completely divergent from the Egyptians. The Egyptians believed there was a sun. God the Egyptians Sion's believe there was a moon. God the Egyptian there were lots of Gods and here comes Moses a prince of Egypt say no there is one God and he creates the heavens and the earth in in a way that no one else can. And that's very specific because the Egyptians believed faeroes would become gods and here. COSMO's say there is one God and this one God creates everything and he creates it in a way no man can do he even throws in their God said let there be light and there was light and God saw the light was good in got separated the light from the darkness they call the day in the darkness he called night. There was evening and there was morning. I love that and I love. He says says let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days for years and let them be lights in the expanse of the Heavens to give light upon the earth and so it was and God made the two great lights the greater light to rule the day the lesser light to rule the night and the stars. And you know this. This is just he he made he made the study made the moon any made the stars and he put them in the expansion. And I love this because the Egyptians believed these things were God there were gods in no most. There's just things in the sky. This is the first religion. Judaism in Genesis is the first religion to believe. I believe that these are objects in the sky and not God's it's pretty profound in God creates them and then he creates us at his own image. The IMAGO Day God creates us us in his image so God created man in his own image in the image of man he created him male and female he created them and again the word Barat. We can't. This is why Christians can't believe in transgenderism awesome because it says God creates male and female and if God creates female we can't create we can't Barat and the Bible uses the word Barat. God Creates Eighteen divine way that we can't do it so Christians can't believe in transgenderism because God creates a male and female in a divine way that we can't duplicate but we know how the story three goes The the he creates male and female from the dust of the earth woman from the bone of of Adam and the serpent comes comes into the garden and says you do. Did God really say you shall not eat of the tree of the garden to the woman said to the serpent. We may not eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden. You shall not eat of you you. You may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden but you shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden. Neither shall you touch it. Lets you die now keep in mind. God told Adam this before eve had been created and so eve has added to it. God didn't say you couldn't touch it but adds adds that to it and Eve saw the tree was good for food. She was delighted. She ate the fruit and then she gave some to her husband. who was with her Adam? Latif speak to the serpent. He didn't intervene. Say No I didn't say we can touch you. Just said we need to know so so their eyes were opened and they were naked it in God. Punishes them now. No the woman is punished through painful childbirth. The Manas is really just just I mean sin flows through. Adam Madam is this is really punished and why first of all he tries to blame his wife and says hey was all her fault. What does he say the woman whom you gave to be with me? She gave me the fruit but he was not rallied. When God said don't eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good evil it was all Adam Manana past the bugs? All right now no got it. Is this woman her fault. She gave it to you because it did. I tell you this in the woman says the serpent deceived me and I ate well I mean. So here's the thing God tells the serpent I will put in between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring he he shall bruise your head and you shall bruises heal. This is called the Proto Evangelical this. This is the first pronouncement of the Gospel. God is says that there will be offspring from the woman not from the man notice from the woman and there will be enmity between them and he will bruise your head. You will bruise his heel. Some say we'll crush your head that gives them hope it gives hope that a redeemer is coming and then he exiles them from the garden. He plays Chiro Bowman flaming sword that prevented them from getting their from coming back into this direct relationship with God like they had had and they needed to do something and of course there were Canaan there was able and and they I guess they they thought maybe may maybe kings it. Obviously it wasn't Kane in. So then they give birth. Eve gives birth to seth. And they think seth his his name sounds like the Hebrew for he is appointed and so they think that seth is going to give them the rest in the peace and in no it's not in ultimately comes to no one in Noah's name means rest in clearly people think no I was gonna be the one in which they they get the Sabbath. No his name is very similar to Sabbath to the sabbath rest. No one's going to be the one who gives the risks and it's not no way either. But with Noah God of course floods the world but saves this one man in his family and then reinstitute shoots his covenant the same covenant. He gave Adam and Eve he he reinstitute sit with Noah. What are you know one of those interesting things in the Bible is the order of creation when God destroys the earth? It's undone in exactly the same way. What happens th? There's there's The the light and then God separates the planet. Ah The waters above and the waters below in the waters beneath and separates it from the dry land and win the world because of sin is polluted the entire planet. It's not just man man who polluted everything is polluted because the sin the waters bursts forth from beneath and come to the land the land of the waters rise up from the sea to the land. The waters come down from heaven and in everything goes back to the chaos of the celestial chaos in the exact reverse order from creation. This happens and it's all into it's a fascinating depiction depiction of what sin has done. Well we know the rest of the story. There Noah is safe sin. It doesn't actually leave. Because man is since in flows through father. This is why by the way Jesus had to be bored of a virgin because sin flows through the father and the father are being God. Sin Free. He doesn't have sin you. Mary's family ultimately descended from David as well but along the way God paints a picture of what this is going to look like E but we see it in the garden as well. We're supposed to have a direct relationship with God God with us. God Walker Emmanuel we were supposed to have the Emanuel relationship and it takes a very long time but what you can get from Genesis..

"If you want this playlist go to apple music in search for E W Erickson. I've got up there and it is here here here across the state of Georgia talking about Christmas. and Ah the evidence for the faith. We know that Jesus had four brothers. James Joseph Simon Judas who we call Jude for obvious reasons he had two sisters at least many people may not realize this but based on the eyewitness accounts of Jesus Friends Jesus's family thought he was bit of a nutter actually so much for the liar lunatic or Lord framing. His family was all in for lunatic. I mean they. They wanted an intervention Just get this from mark. Mark Chapter Three starting at Verse Twenty One and and when his family heard what Jesus say heard it they went out to seizing for. They were saying he's out of his mind and then beginning verse thirty one in his mother and his brothers came and standing eating outside they sent to him and called him and a crowd was sitting around him and they said to him. Your mother and your brothers are outside seeking you answered them. Who are my mother and my brother? Persson looking about at those who sat around him he said here are my mother and my brothers for whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother. I mean this was an the intervention that they wanted to seizing. They thought he was a nut. So the most extraordinary thing is that Jesus mother. Mary participated in this. This is a woman who Luke tells us the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and said he will be great. And we'll be called the son of the most. I hi this is this is crazy I mean. We have the entire song appraised from Mary that she she knew that she was going to be the Holy Spirit would conceive in her. I it just. It's it's staggering to me that. Mary participated in an intervention Vincentian of her son with her children. or at least Jesus's first cousins. I mean we clearly clearly. Mary knew he was he was of God me John Chapter Two verses one through five. This is an eyewitness account by John. Jesus's Fred Fred. We know it's an eyewitness account. On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples when the wine in ran out the mother of Jesus said to him they have no wine. Jesus said to her woman. What does this have to do with me? My hour is not yet come and his mother said deserves do whatever he tells you she. She knew her son could do somethin'. She knew why and yet. Here's Mary trying to stage. An intervention. The Caesium ankerium home note that Mary was struck with Jesus the whole way through his life is she knew it stuck with her and note that Mary then stuck with Jesus his whole life unlike his brothers and sisters no doubt coming to a richer and richer understanding of her sewn over time Mary stuck with him. She'd never gave up on him. John tells us Jesus's brothers gave up on him John Seven again. This is an eyewitness account. We know this from POLYCARP. We know this from Ignatius we know from historic we know extra biblical sources. John was Jesus best friend. We know this from the Bible while we no. He's an eyewitness to this and he writes the juice. Feast of booths was at hand so his brother said to him. Leave here and go to Judea. They your disciples also may see the works. You're doing for no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things show yourself to the world for not. Even his brothers believed in him. This is Jesus's brothers confronting him telling they they really think if he's such a big deal if he really thinks he's the Messiah get the to the big city show. Everybody needs to tell the world which he can't do in a small town in really they just want him gone and by the way. It's pretty implicit here. They think he's going to get himself killed if he does this. The brothers who had to try to stage an intervention had given up. They wanted their brother gone in. Jesus goes he. Winds up. Being arrested tried tortured crucified. The most striking thing here is as brothers. Didn't didn't even show up at his execution. Jesus's mothers there. The mother who with the brothers had tried to save Jesus from himself stage intervention. The mother who the Angel Gabriel real head appear to a told her she would be with child conceived by the Holy Spirit Brothers never showed up from Matthew Twenty seven there were also many women. They're looking on from a distance instance who had followed Jesus from Galilee ministering to them among those Mary Magdalene and Mary the Mother of James and Joseph and the mother of the sons of Zubeidi from Mark Fifteen there was also there were women looking on from a distance. Among whom were Mary Magdalene Mary. The mother of James The younger and of Joseph and Sally when he was in Galilee they followed him in Minister Mr to him and there were also many other women who came up from Luke twenty three all of his acquaintances in the women who followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching and then from John Nineteen standing by the cross of Jesus where his mother and his mother sister Mary. The mother Clovis and Mary Magdalene when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loves standing nearby so does mother woman behold your son then he said to the disciple behold your mother and from that hour the disciple to greatest on this John Writing about what happened to him. This is an eyewitness account from John. We learned that Jesus dying on the Cross told John he had to look after Mary. Why why because Jesus is brothers? Were there. They tried to stage an intervention. They told him to get out of town. They didn't show up for the execution. Mary was there with no immediate family. John The Apostle Sola taking her into her own home and and Jesus died. And if that's all there was we would say this is nonsense. The family would been right but something clearly happened. That's not the end of the story from acts one fourteen. We learned that all these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer together with the a women and Mary the mother of Jesus and his brothers these are of the apostles. These are James. Joseph Simon and jude the family members. Who tried to seizing the stage? It intervene intervention. The people thought he was nuts. They is family. Knew Him. Best Worrisome Center or jerk. They wouldn't have made up the early church. They were all going to get killed. Look James James became a leader in the early church. Paul called him a pillar of the church coach. Paul traveled to Jerusalem after conversion to meet with the apostles and with James James the brother Jesus Not James The Apostle James the brother of Jesus James The just came to be referred to as Campbell knees because he was on his knees praying so much in fact Paul writing and Galatian says when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Gospel to the uncircumcised. Circumcise that is the gentiles. Just as Peter had been entrusted to the Gospel to the Jews he'd work through Peter for his Apostolic Ministry to the circumcised worked also threw me for mind to the gentiles and James and John who seemed to be pillars perceive. That grace had been given to me they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabus in me that we should go to the gentiles and from acts fifteen. All these simply fell salad. They listened to Barbara's and Paul as they related with signs and wonders got done and through them after they finish. Speaking James spoke. He was a member of the church. Paul saw James and Peter Paul. The Guy Jesus had told to go preach to the gentiles went to find Jesus's he's assist brother who had rejected Jesus in life in eight hundred sixty to early church history notes that the local Jews of Jerusalem went to James. They had a problem. They had executed Jesus and yet the city was growing and believers believing that Jesus was the risen Lord and so they they went to James. This is documented in history. They went to the brother of Jesus James the brother of Jesus and said he could testify that Jesus was not God. I mean after all he wouldn't even show up at the execution he wanted nothing to do with the guy. But here's this guy who thought his brother was. The nutter is now a part of the church. He had become so invested in the idea that Jesus was the risen Lord when he writes his book of the Bible James's book of the Bible. He calls himself a serving. Doesn't even identify himself as the brother of Jesus and he tells the Jews he was wrong he was wrong. Jesus was in fact the living living God. Jesus wasn't back the Messiah so enraged. We're we're the the local leaders. They carried to the top of the temple and they threw him off it. He his witnesses say he was proclaiming his brother the risen Lord the whole time and when he didn't die they stoning to death and beating with clubs until he died the whole to battered bruised. Broken bleeding going to die proclaiming. His brother Jesus was lowered the very man he thought was a nutter. He went to his death proclaiming. And as God Jesus Brothers Simon took James's place along the way Jesus brother Jude became a church leader. He was eventually killed by by the Roman state and a purge of Christians a counter mixes whether it was his children or grandchildren. It appears his grandchildren. Were called before the emperor. They testified that their relative Jesus had been talked. uh-huh talking about a return at the last day not an imminent takeover of the empire that he was King in heaven and they were spared for time and then I believe it was Trajan decided to exterminate the remains of Jesus family. They literally the Romans executed every living member of Jesus's earthly family. They all died proclaiming. Jesus is this was alive. Something had to have happened. Paul wrote to the Corinthians that Jesus had appeared to safest into the twelve then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time. Most most of whom are still alive. Hint hint there were eye witnesses at the time. Though summit fall asleep then he appeared to James then to all the apostles. It's really silly to say Jesus didn't exist. There is ample eyewitness historic record. There's more documentary evidence that Jesus existed then socrates eleven of the twelve who followed Jesus were willing to go to the ends of the Earth to proclaim him God. Thomas went all the way to southern India. The Portuguese when they first made it to India were shocked to find Christian churches in southern India. All could trace their roots to to Thomas Thomas. Jesus's brothers became part of the church. They were executed for proclaiming him. Christ the risen Lord the Messiah the man named Jesus not only must have been a pretty spectacularly charismatic person who surrounded himself with charismatic people. All all of whom are willing to be tortured and killed a I guess they were all conman. They were all great liar so I guess because they were all willing to die for a lie the people who knew him were willing to die for. You know my sister's would never call me the risen. Lord they know me. There's no way they would be executed telling me to say in people that I was God odd and yet Jesus actual brothers or first cousins if you're that they were willing to be executed to keep up a lye no and we know this from history for extra biblical history from the same history that tells us Julius Caesar existed from the same history that tells us Niro existed from the same history tells us socrates existed existed. The same history tells us these people rejected him in life and after death said actually he rose again from the dead and really is the Messiah. Clearly something had to happen. Believe by faith in Christ as Lord but understand. Your faith has a foundation foundation of historic evidence behind it. Welcome back zero Erickson here..

"Two Thousand Nineteen playlist. That is all the music you're hearing on this this program you can go check it out So I'm going through the historian city of faith and e by any historic standard. Jesus this was a real human being no credible historian academic historian secular atheist. Agnostic Christian Muslim Jew You name it Disputes that Jesus was historic person. They they may dispute. He was the son of God. They may dispute. He rose again from the dead as Christians. Believe me dispute the Virgin Birth. But they don't dispute. He was the actual historic figure. So why do so many people why. Why do I believe he's God? It's not just by phase you can get there by faith but to get to Jesus as claims about himself. We we need to broach a subject. I so I I need to go there. The Bible claims Jesus had brothers now the council of Constantinople in eighty five fifty three. The Early Church declared that Mary was quote Unquote Ever Virgin and a lot of Christians. uh-huh believe this He wasn't just a Catholic belief. A Protestant leaders like Martin Luther. John Calvin John Wesley Swingley others. They agreed they interpret the references the Bible to Jesus brothers and sisters either Joseph's children from a prior marriage or his first cousins and an extended family Catholics tend to believe it's his first cousins ends in an extended family. I actually believe that They were Jesus's half brothers and sisters from Joseph and Mary's marriage in fact It's very curious that Matthew would say. Mary gave birth to her first born. Son If you look at that in the original Greek is a very clear distinction distinction there that that it suggests Mary did have other children. And so I I really do believe that Jesus had brothers and sisters. It is is not something that's GonNa keep you into heaven or not. It is not something that that Christians need to agree on. There's plenty of evidence that these early families were very close Bought Light That's what I think we need to understand. I think for purposes of this conversation that Jesus brothers and sisters were half brothers and sisters all younger than him I'm from Marian and Joseph But we at least recognized that they were very close members of his family. There are a number of passages in reference to them in the New Testament. Demint and the sense of phrasing is that these were the people who knew Jesus the best. For example mark. Six one through six describes his family this way he went away from from there and came to his hometown and his disciples followed him and on the Sabbath. He began to teach in the synagogue in many. Who heard him were astonished? Saying where did this man get these things. What is the wisdom given to him how our such mighty works done by his hand is not this the carpenter the son of Mary and the brother of James Joseph and Jude and in Simon are not these his sisters Matthew Thirteen fifty three fifty seven Says when Jesus had finished these parables he went away from there and coming to his hometown own. He taught them in the synagogue so they were astonished and said where did this man get his wisdom. These mighty works. Is this not the carpenter. Son is not as mother called Mary or these not his brothers. James Joseph Simon and jude or these not a sisters me and he had we know four brothers James Joseph Simon Judas actually the Bible says we call him jude you for obvious reasons And he had at least two sisters the tradition of the time In that day and age was the oldest son typically received his grandfather's author's name we know that Josephus Father's name was Jacob that Matthew One sixteen tells us some Jacob the father of Joseph the mother of Mary of whom Jesus was born who was called the Christ. James James is the Greek derivative of Jacob. So James would be Joseph's oldest natural son and he would be named for Joseph's father by the traditions of the day and in so we can conclude James Either Joseph's oldest natural son or the oldest son Joseph's own brother if the second son was indeed Joseph Son it would make some MHM since the first son is named after grandfather. The second son is named after Joseph that also explains why there are so many Jacobs James and Judas in the Bible Jacob in particular was was very popular given genesis so Jesus and a family he had brothers and sisters or at least cousins I think family and he had a father unearthly father named Joseph and we should explore all this when we come back..

Do I need more presence do I. I have all the president's where are the presence let's focus on what really matters the presents under the tree. Don't matter the food food really doesn't matter. The news today impeachment whatever. It doesn't matter what matters is that I bring you good news of great enjoy. That is for all the people for unto. You is born this day in the city of David a savior. Who is Christ the Lord that my friends ends matters? That's the news that matters. Let's focus on that for the next two hours. Eric Erickson here on the Ericsson show across the state of Georgia. Welcome it's Eric Erickson here. The Erik Erikson show across the state of Georgia. Merry Christmas to you. This is a show about Christmas about the real reason for the season putting aside the politics of the day the news of the day that the headlines The selective outrages all the things people are Gossiping about let let's focus on the real the meaning of the season. The real reason that we are here is to celebrate a risen Lord and I wanNA focus on that and do as I do every year her for this beginning well. We're the story really begins. Luke Chapter Two beginning at verse one in those Days Decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration when Quirino was governor of Syria and all went to be registered each to his own town and Joseph also went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea to the city of David which is called Bethlehem because because of the House and lineage of David to be registered with Mary his betrothed who is with child and while they were there the time came for her to give birth and she gave gave birth to her first born son and wrapped him in swabbing cloths and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the end in the same region egion there were shepherds out in the field keeping watch over their flocks by night and an angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shown around them and they refilled with great fear and the Angel said to them. Fear Not for behold I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people title for unto. You is born this day in the city of David a savior who is Christ the Lord and this will be assigned for you. You will find the a baby wrapped in Swaziland close and lying. In a manger and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and singing glory to God awed the highest and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased with the angels went away from them into heaven. The Shepherd said to one another let us go over to Bethlehem him and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us and they went with haste and fell Mary Joseph and the baby lying in a manger and when they saw it they made known the saying that had been told them concerning the child and all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them but Mary treasured appeared up all these things pondered them in her heart and the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen as it had been told them and at the end of eight days when he was circumcised he was called Jesus the name given by the Angel before he was conceived in the womb. Now curious phrasing. Is it not this in chapter eight verses eighteen and nineteen when all who heard it wondered it with shepherds told them but Mary treasured up all these things pondering them. I'm in her heart. Mary is set apart there. Why will luke was a doctor? We believe and we know he interviewed interviewed. People in fact if you read married the magnificant Mary Song of praise. What scholars who have studied this in the original grew Greek in the earliest manuscripts? We have say there are plenty of notations suggestions and word choices that Luke interviewed someone. Who gave him Mary's Song of praise? My soul magnifies lord by spirit rejoices. Jason God my savior freeze looked on the humble state of a servant for behold from now on all generations will call me bless the the the magnificent someone told Luke Luke Maye can he translated Greek and we can tell that from the word choices that Luke used and then uses this curious phrasing in the second chapter of Luke that these other people pau wondered wondered what was going on but Mary treasured up these things. He clearly had interviewed Mary. I mean. That's the implication here with Luke's word choices. He interviewed Mary Pretty Striking Pretty Striking. This is an interview of Mary. That Lucas conducted. You know a lot of people say that none of this is real that that that we believe by faith and we do believe by faith. There are parts of the Bible in on believe leave like faith by faith but there's plenty of evidence. We haven't evidence based faith. A lot of people don't want to confront the evidence. They don't want to argue the evidence they just they just believe. But there's plus they're just just by historic standard you know. We accept that. Socrates existed though socrates didn't leave any writings behind a few people are so intent on and Saint Jesus's imaginary they they've decided socrates too They're weak minded fool. Socrates didn't have any writings of his. But Plato's enough on Air Stephanie's they all knew knew that socrates live they all wrote about socrates we know they existed. We have their writings. They lived at his time and we derive knowledge of socrates from those who knew him. Same Way we can do that with Jesus now. I know we're not with Jesus is God. Just Jesus the man lived. Modern scholarship has been a lot of time trying to disappear disprove through biblical writings. Then if you start at the premise that they're frauds guess what you're probably going to conclude they're frauds but we do largely know that Matthew was written by the Apostle Matthew we do know that mark was written based on the eyewitness testimony of Peter. We know that Luke was written by a doctor who interviewed eye-witnesses investigated their claims. We know John on Because John has so many friends who testified that that John was the apostle John Three of the four of the Gospels are based on eye witnesses. The fourth is based East on interviews of eye-witnesses by someone who became an eyewitness to the work of the apostles. And then we've got Peter and John James and Jude Written by eye witnesses. Then there's there's Paul who saw Christ in the road to the masks was blinded but it goes beyond these books as well and and that's where we should spend a little bit of time. We know there was a man named erase we. We know he was born in eighty one thirty Turkey. He died in eighty two two and France. We have have the writings from Aaron. As we have the writings documenting his existence from others. And we know arunas studied. Under a man named polycarp we know polycarp existed existed. We have writing from POLYCARP. We have writings about POLYCARP. He was born around sixty nine. He was martyred in one fifty five eighty eighty six years. I have served him and he's done no wrong said POLYCARP. Bishop of SMYRNA was a eighty-one fifty-six he climbed into a pyre where Roman authorities burned earned him alive. I witnesses were there. They reported this. They said the local authorities respected POLYCARP. They begged him to recant his faith in Jesus and he wouldn't he said eighty six years I've served him and he's done no wrong the Romans they didn't even tie polycarp to a post in the funeral pyre because they knew he wasn't going to flee he was that respected by the local officials polycarp fed his captors he prayed over them and then he climbed into the Pyre to die burned alive some historians say the flames wouldn't hurt him and they ultimately stabbed him in the heart We know about Ignatius Ignatius wrote he was written about he was a friend of polycarp the two were the the first generation of church leaders after the postles eight nations was born around thirty five I a D he was martyred being fed to wild beasts in the circus arcus maximus split open disembowelled and Fed wild beasts in the circus maximus Ignatius and polycarp. We know they live. We have their writings. We have the writings of others. Who testified to them? In both of these men say they studied under a man named John and they both identified him as the Apostle John and they tribute the Gospel. People of John D. him they learn about Jesus through him. We also know of a man named limit we know. He existed poll references climate in Philippians. Four three. We know that Clement Knew Paul and Peter and John We clem. It wasn't an eye witness to Christ but he was an eyewitness to these men Clem. It was tied I to an anchor and thrown into the sea for refusing to reject Jesus Aaron as claimed polycarp Ignatius studied under John. polycarp Ignatius made the the same claim. They treated Jonah's eyewitness to Christ. Clement was an eyewitness to Peter and Paul for sure we know that he documented their existence and their claims to be eyewitnesses. Peter John Matthew James and Jude alr- books of the Bible claiming to be eyewitnesses to Jesus and the events of his life. Then there's Paul who we know persecuted the early Church and then claimed claimed he had a supernatural encounter with Christ a resurrected Christ other church leaders who he sought to to kill took him into the Church and affirmed his ministry street. We don't even have to get the poll to establish this. Though either Jesus existed or a whole lot of people over a century collaborated in an elaborate spirit conspiracy to create him to claim. Jesus didn't exist. We've gotTA declare a bunch of other. People who really know existed didn't didn't exist and then that leads to a question that we should consider if Jesus existed by any historic standard. Forget Jesus God forget Jesus got for me to buy any historic standard Jesus existed we have more eye witnesses writing firsthand accounts of the life of Jesus within one hundred years of his death than of almost any Roman emperor in fact we have eyewitness accounts of Jesus with fifty years of his death. Sommese and there are some who don't WanNa believe you've but you know Jesus existed in by historic standards. She did we do need to ask ourselves a question. Why do so so many claim he was? God we should explore that question a little bit just so you understand the real.

"Now I got help you if you do. I tell people all the time I I do have a face radio but I have a voice for print but here I am nonetheless nonetheless a across the state of Georgia well on radio. I'm I'm a Christian explicitly so not a good one one but I am one. Eighty eight informs my worldview. I believe there's a heaven and hell. I believe there's a last day I believe that those who are Jesus aside or on the winning team I may be an incurable pessimist. But I'm also quite an optimist because I've read how the book ends it ends with a Pale Horse Johnny cash thing and backup music I'm you know. I'm I'm on the winning team however much I'm a loser. I'm on the winning team. That's what counts and it shapes my worldview and it shapes what I do in in I see the world. Through this lens I see the the rise of for example cultural progressivism Secularism and hostility to faith. That's part of the plan. God's got a plan and my life I have gone through my life to tell you how I got here to. You hearing my voice right now. And it is all part of God's plan and I don't know what the play it is but I know I'm a part of it and I know he's got a role for me to play. He's got a role for you to play and you may not know that whether it is and you may be stuck in feeling stagnant at. You may be in God's waiting room waiting for him to act Y- you know. The Jewish people waited four hundred years in silence between their return. In Christ. We can wait. You can wait. We all need to learn a little patience. Patience doesn't hurt us but I got a plan and I got a role to play will several years ago. I I mean I talk like this on the radio in it rubs some people the wrong way I. I've had complaints from people saying he. He talks about Jesus too much on the radio. And it's who I am. I'm sorry sorry I don't try to do it often except at Christmas and Easter but sometimes it comes in depending on the news of the day but several years ago. I haven't taught this. I started started getting invited to preach at local little churches needing to fill in preacher on a Sunday asking. If I would come in. They heard me talking Jesus or culture or faith on the radio and I said no because I never been to seminary and felt bad doing it so several years ago decided to go work on my M. DIV at reformed theological seminary I'm in a PhD program Southeastern Baptist in Wake Forest. But I what I mentioned it on. Air that You you know okay folks. I'll come preach for now. Been in seminary is the number of those churches reached out and they will what Church are Eunice reformed theological whole reformed four hundred one of those. Well I think the preachers drying his hair that Sunday. I I'm I'm being flippant here but I actually am really serious. I primarily went it to seminary because I was getting asked to preach on Sundays while as a radio show host in Atlanta and these churches followed back up with me when they found out I was going to a seriously seriously academic but reformed seminary there probably not but I stayed in seminary nonetheless. I felt deeply rewarding to be able to check out of politics politics for a little while and and spend time on my faith and my favorite seminary professors from South Carolina Welshman who lives in South Carolina and. He told me one time I was filling in for rush limbaugh and he picked him up from the airport in Atlanta he flies in from South Carolina to teach at artists. And we're driving up to Marietta the campus and he says you know I got people in my church who here you on the radio and the like you and whether you believe it or not you got got a pulpit and given what the Scripture says about preachers leading people astray. You need to be here whether you believe it or not in a Oh I believe him. I do We've all got a role to play. God's got a plan for all of us and honestly I view my role in life is being on radio talking about the topics that some program directors might get mad about or or management or you. The listener might get frustrated with me on occasion. I think letting you know. There's someone out there who believes like you is important poured it because some of you can't say what I can say some of. You can't get away with what I can get away with in some of you think you're alone in secularism in society is designed around around the idea of making you feel isolated and alone and this is the history of Christianity. Frankly the it is why the Romans wanted to take scripture scripture for people you know where the word trader comes from the word traitor comes from the trap doors. The doors were early Christians in the persecutions of the Roman in pyre with trade their scripture for their life. The Romans would come say handed over your word of God and they would handed over Pay Amish to the emperor and they would would be spared and and they were called the editors they traded their scripture for their life and and could they be welcome back into the church is one of the early Fights among Christians of could these people will be forgiven in the answer ultimately was yes they need to repent but they can be forgiven and we get the word trader from it. The Romans knew they needed to take people. Scripture sure way needed to isolate people they need to make people feel they were alone and if they could make you feel alone they could probably get you to reject your faith and we see that in secularism today And not just on the issue of Christianity. We see it on a host of socially conservative issues on on society on on The alphabet gang issues the LGBTQ. I A ATP whatever the Alphabet Gang we we we see it on. These things is forcing people to censor themselves. So I view my role not just to give you the news of the day and analyze it for you and give my opinion for day and primarily. You know what my job is I believe it or not as to entertain you. Maybe I'm not being entertaining right now. My job is to entertain people on the radio. Try to give you the news in an a day. We'll we become morally relativistic this to go on both sides. Both sides have their ultras. You've got your truth. I've got my trudeau as as a Christian. I believe there's an absolute truth. His name is Jesus. And we have an obligation to seek real truth in this world. Faith and I believe that's my job and oftentimes it puts me at odds with my friends because I say you know what what the guy on. The News. Reporter really wasn't fake news. It really west her there. I heard it on some some fake news. No it's it's it's real but my job is also to let people know in addition entertaining. You're you're not alone. You believe that there was a virgin who gave birth to a child. What an absurd thing to believe in yet we do historic evidence for it? We believe this child grew up was was tortured was crucified suffered under Pontius pilot was crucified. Right died was buried descended into hell on the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty and he will come to judge the quick and the dead we believe. Leave these things and people tell us you crazy. That's not true it's it's anti-science and it's my job to tell people you know what there are two billion billion people on planet earth who believe this. You're in the minority not us even though we don't talk about it but culture is tends to be secular and tries to get us to shut up about this stuff and so I'm very happy to be one of the people who stands up and says these are the things we believe in and so for the next little while I want to delve in an to the things we believe in I find it very important to do this. And my apologies to you if you were looking for raw politics today if you're looking for the headlines of the day if you're looking for detailed analysis of impeachment I'm afraid I'm not doing that today. What I'm doing is reminding people of what we I believe? And why we believe it where it comes from. What the history of it is the facts and figures of faith if you will? I think that's way more important than any of this other stuff. Even if we talk about that way more than we talk about this..

And you know I it to different I talked to different people rush limbaugh and Joe Scarborough at MSNBC. I talked to both of them. Russia's a friend and an Irish at the Hannity who put me in touch with people at Fox but Russian Joe Scarborough both of them who are diametrically opposed on so many things both of them encouraged me to CNN To be a missionary. If you will that there weren't any good conservatives there that I should go there so it did and it was. He was deeply rewarding And while I was there It W macy and making where you're listening to be now on. WNYC by accident. They parted ways with the local host. Oh Stu got it a little bit of trouble and they needed someone to fill it and they reached out the news director at the time reached out. I was on CNN at the time and asked if I could do morning I'd never done radio before Kinney Burgum longtime friend of mine. WHO's at the Georgia farm? Bureau used to be on radio and making. He'll let me fill in for him. One time the day. After Christmas I was a lawyer drove back from my in laws in Carrollton to fill in on the radio and got one phone call in three hours and he was an old man. Upset about the rise is of popularity fake Christmas trees that was that was the only radio experience I had so they put me on and I was there and up in Atlanta. If you knew aborts is and I was on radio radio and making for three months six. Am to nine am. I got paid literally in an expired gift. Certificate outback steakhouse. The only reason I know isn't expired. Gift Certificate is because I took my wife to dinner and wound up having to pay But as luck would have it win. The new guy came. They were looking for a replacement waisman. WSB in Atlanta and the new guy basically got my volunteer position and make it. And I wound up getting his job in Atlanta. Because Herman Cain decided you to run for president and they needed someone they had no bitch and they needed somebody to fill in for for Herman to replace urban and so no. I got really technically hired to replace Herman. Cain who was running for president. And I've I've been on the radio ever since they did not know. It wasn't my job. The the president of the company heard me on the radio AD. Read my website. Red State thought it was my radio show in in and they offered me Herman's job. I didn't tell them I actually had to experience radio till after I got hired and I've been there ever since and so in August of this this year. Did we not My my wife week for Christmas two thousand six is given in six months to live and I get to be the one to tell her because the doctors had to help in the emergency room and then I had to go get my child from daycare and so I go get my daughter who's one from daycare and by the time I make it home. I'm so emotionally exhausted. It's is pouring down rain and I get our at an old beat up. Who has no clue what's going on patting me on the face and all I can go? You're GONNA have no memory of your mother and I finally get up and I guess inside the House and dry us often get her changed in fed and down and I go to my office and just begin to pray A.. And pray and pray and Christian talk about the peace that transcends all understanding I can tell you it's a real thing and his family finally gets there ear In relieves me so I can go back to Christine she. She does not believe. But I gotTa tell you we we have conversations that you don't have unless your spouse dying about my career trajectory and what I should do and should I- remarry in in. Should we move closer to her parents or my parents. Or what do we do and we have those conversations and the things she tells me she says she she used me as a catapult throwing good people and good ideas into the arena not initially me But but but good ideas and good people so that other people can judge those ideas. And that's what I should do with my life and you know well it about ten ten thirty that night. The doctor came in the one who told me my wife. They thought she had six months to live. He says the pathology has come back and they've look at the scan and they don't really know what it is but they don't actually think it's cancer having relooked at it. They don't think that it's cancer. She's GonNa be. She's she's here with me today. She was fine She had a rare condition That they had never seen before the the Mayo Clinic was able to diagnose it Fast forward a few years and she she does have this long issue and she does. She's she's gets a little more sick than most people do when she gets stuff in her lungs and we decide. She should stay at home mom and so she she stays home with the kids. This is two thousand nine now. My Company So the doctor comes in that night tells us that we have really have nothing to worry about how she's going to be fine and the next day is literally the I think the next day literally as in literally My business partners at Red State get a phone call from a group in Washington Eagle publishing. They WANNA buy Red State mean within twenty four hours. y'All put this in perspective within twenty four hours a week before Christmas in in two thousand six I lose my job and my wife is given six months to live and God is does miracles and in that twenty four hour period. I go from losing my wife and job to having my wife and having my job it was A. It was a roller-coaster after a week before Christmas rollercoaster and by two thousand nine. I'm in this job and we we Christie needs to be stay at home mom. She's listed Dr. Laura doctors very insistent on this with your health situation while we just think we got two kids. They'll be stay at home mom. We don't know how we're going to make ends meet mine. I mean I'm on her insurance because in should I would go broke on my company because I would be out of network since I didn't live in DC. And I go to Dillard's and get an application to start selling suits routes. That's what I'm GONNA do. I'M GONNA sell suits on the side at Dillard's and my boss calls from Eagle Publishing and is named Joe and he says you know we realize you. You haven't had a pay raise the entire time you've been here you haven't had a pay raise and we need to give you a pay raise and my pay raise was equal to exactly what Christie was given up in income and within three days a lady from CNN calls she says my name's Michelle. You don't know me but I'm the person who hired you got to come up to New York for MSNBC BACK in two thousand four. I'm at CNN. Now I'd worked for Tim Russert until he died. I met CNN. And I'd like to offer you a job. Does a contributor to CNN and thus I moved into TV in the wild ride of.

Yeah I liked to dedicate the holidays Christmas. Mrs Easter for this Christmas Eve Christmas. Good Friday Spending time really on the real stuff that matters and let me tell you why right now you are getting ready or have opened presence We're we're going to just just full disclosure. I'll be honest with you Doing this on Christmas Eve and we're going to rerun this on Christmas. I'm not taking your phone calls because I don't like to have other people working on in Christmas and Christmas eve of a can so not going to take phone calls today And thank you very much to Chris. Birds for filling in for me over the holidays. I don't I don't want those God bless Jim for being here with me and helping me do this But it is important for me not to burden other other people Call screeners producers guests hosts and things like that. So it's me here and I welcome you and I wanNa tell Ellia that right now. This nation is yelling at each other over impeachment. We have spent this year yelling at each other over over all sorts of things. And we're not going to yell at each other today. We're going to the if nothing else. Consider this a radio tie I. I am very blessed with a job I love. I don't consider it a job. I don't consider it work and I feel like I should talk talk about the things that really matter take fifty thousand foot worldview and let you get to know me a little better and I do that. I pause the politics and the daily headlines at Christmas and Easter Play good music oftentimes from local churches You'll hear churches from around Georgia today. In addition to stuff like Andrew Peterson's behold the lamb of God Lauren dagoes. Oh holy night in others But I also WanNa get good Georgia groups as well while we pause and reflect on things that are much more important than daily politics. I I am going for some of you. Who have known me for a while and have listened for awhile? I may sound like a little bit of a broken record here but I have to tell you that life is more important than the politics and the news of the day. And if you listen to talk radio you watch Fox News you watch CNN or MSNBC you can sometimes get distracted by the political fight of the day to my friends who are Republicans. Publican's the truth of the matter is yes on health care. your life was disrupted by Washington. DC and Barack Obama but by and large your. Your life really was not disrupted by Barack Obama in fact it is objectively true there. The economy did begin to turn around. While Barack Obama was president. People did start going back to work although not at the rate that some suggested but your life was not meaningfully affected by Washington. DC and yet your obsessed with Washington DC as are the Democrats listening and the reality is for those of you who are Democrats. Donald trump has not major life. Worse if anything you have more money in your paycheck thanks to his tax cut and his deregulation has increased the economic engine. That did begin under Barack Obama and I realize Republicans don't like to give Barack Obama Credit for helping Get us out of the recession. That began to happen at the end of the Bush administration and I realized Democrats don't like to give Donald Trump credit. This is as political as I'm GonNa get in Mike. Point is this Washington. Never fundamentally changed your life with few exceptions and Washington never will your local government. Will Your School Board. Will Your Mayor Will Your City Council Your County Commission Will Your Water Authority. Will Your state government will vastly more than your federal government and yet we in this country obsess over the politics of Washington. DC and we should be mindful of the fact. I think that Washington by and large really doesn't impact impact us As much and yet we are so obsessed with it and so if anything I I take these days in the Christmas season and on Good Friday to recalibrate the things that really matter our local community matters our local politics matter our our politics and news here in Georgia matter much more than Washington. But there's something else that matters as well and that is your faith in Worldview and your outlook. I know there are people listening right now. Who Do not believe there is a creator? They do not believe that Christ is king they do not share my worldview worldview. I know there are conservatives listening right now who are agnostic or atheist and I know that there are people listening sitting right now who consider themselves Christians and we have theological fundamental theological disagreements but we should would be able at this season to put that aside and focus on the things that matter and I should be able here and now to share with with you my world view the reason I do these things and we can find some common ground. I'm I really genuinely Amei Believer. You're in the idea that whether you are Democrat or Republican whether you're progressive or conservative or Libertarian Whether you believe in got or not were all Americans but we are all whether you accept or not made in the image of the Living God and we should all be able to find things that we share sheeran common outside of politics because politics is become all consuming in this nation and yet politics really isn't the most important thing and I want to tell you I know politics is it the most important thing had I not known it for certain this week in two thousand six. I would have known it for sure. I told the story just a couple of weeks ago on this program for those who are new here for those of you. Who aren't I apologize? The rest of you bear with me here Labor Day two thousand six. It's my wife had a gallbladder attack and they didn't know what it was they sure Simpson's were of a pulmonary embolism and we rushed her to the Er they scandal lungs things. There were was no pulmonary. Embolism they said You got something there doesn't look like it's a big deal. must be your gall. Bladder go to the beach so we went to the beach for Labor Day went down to Gulf shores with her parents and she had emergency surgery while we were at the beach. Now I had taken a the job back in two thousand four. MSNBC had asked me to come up to New York for the end of the Bush Kerry election and blog the election for them as I was the only because they had three liberals and me is the one conservative. Pretty pretty obvious where we're going. That's where actually met Joe Scarborough. We became friends And his staff took me under their wing. They were the only people there who supported George Bush back in two thousand four AT MSNBC BUT One of the lawyers at my law firm now the federal judge down in in middle Georgia she came into it came into my office and he asked me if I knew what the definition of a dumb rear end for those. You have family listening we what a dumb you're in was I said No. He said you said you don't like practicing law go to politics. So within a year I'd left my law AFFIRMA- salad melting down in Macon for those. You know the firm I left Sellin Melton and took a job in Washington commute back and forth three days one week four days the other week for about a year. You're until my friends and I can get red state off the ground during the time. MSNBC had called me asked me to go up to New York. Cover the election by two thousand five. I was running red stateful time. uh-huh quit the job in DC. My Wife said either GonNa kill me kill myself was traveling so much I we. My wife had given birth to our first child and I really have no no strong memory of my daughter her first year because I was gone constantly from Two thousand five August is two thousand five until into two thousand six just had no memory and so I quit that job got a job in Started doing red-state fulltime but then November came around and the Republicans got beat and we were wiped out to to to see and the Revenue Red State with two zero so the week before Christmas In two thousand six my wife finally went in for a follow up from those spots soot in her lungs that they found when they thought she's having a pulmonary embolism and sh- while she was gone. My business partners called me and told me I gotTa go find a new job Outta Outta work and my wife comes home and I go downstairs to tell her. I don't know what we're GONNA do. Were were week before Christmas. And I've got my last paycheck. But she has this look got her face and I knew something was wrong and she came inside and looked at me and she said that they found a blood clot in my jugular vein. I gotta go to the hospital. They're putting me on blood thinner in monetary me in the hospital like goal. This is something so Off She goes. In while she's there that day her doctor Consults with the pulmonologist about the sponsor. Lungs they decide. There's a very rare form of lung cancer that that can present itself with the spots in the lungs and and I should say as a rare for cancers rare form of cancer and ultimately moved to the lungs in its final stage and decided she needed a lung Biopsy so the week before Christmas two thousand six. My wife has a lung biopsy and I'll never forget they call me down a corridor and and they give my wife six months to live the week before Christmas. She's got six months to live. I'm out of a job and I'm about to be a widower a week before Christmas in two thousand six and I had to tell my wife because the doctors there's a it's pouring down rain and making the doctors have to go Tim to the emergency room. There's been a terrible wreck and so I volunteered to be the one to tell Miller she wakes up at. NFC she gets her. She's GonNa die. I have literally looked my wife. Horizon told her she was going to die and then I had to go get our daughter from daycare. That was Christmas in two thousand six..

"By. I have a new terror. I have a new term that we all have to learn learn so you know net roots nation. They had their event in Atlanta last year. That's the big online of <hes> progressive conference. I'll my goodness gracious. <hes> bless their hearts that they they they really take take this whole tolerance diversity inclusion thing seriously and they've got a an inclusion and etiquette page. I got a I. I need to read some of these yet. Look we'll get into Epstein here in a minute. This is just this. This is GonNa make your day. This is the inclusion in etiquette net roots nation disability inclusion. Here are some tips on how to be inclusive of the disability community handicapped has a negative connotation instead use a person with a disability people with disabilities are not suffering or struggling they may be managing and are celebrating their symptoms. Diagnosis suffering is optional and subjective terms like physically challenged in differently abled can be patronizing if appropriate. Note that a person has a physical sensory or mental impairment and leave it at that use person first labels to ensure that people are not labeled with their disability person with a disability instead of disabled person or person who uses a wheelchair sort of wheelchair-bound. Remember people without disabilities are not normal this implies that people with disabilities or abnormal when introduced to a person with a disability it is polite to shake hands. Most people with limited use of their hands or artificial limbs can shake hands if you're not sure let the other person make the first move whereas do not be embarrassed to offer help to someone with a disability but wait until the offer is accepted and instructions are given before proceeding be gracious if you offered to us to assist declined to get a deaf person's attention touch the person lightly wave your hand you some other fiscal sign. If an interpreter is being used speak directly to the deaf person now here's where it gets really funny. We're about to learn a new term. Folks Racism Anti blackness an indigenous erasure exists so commonly in our lives that even the most politically conscious individuals can perpetrate harm. Here are some tips on how to be an ally. I I'm sorry buddy of mine just texted me and said I need to read this in my feminist voice. If if I'M GONNA go through this I need to read this in my feminist voice. I'm sorry Erick Erickson feminist voice deployed racism racism anti blackness and indigenous erasure exists commonly in our lives that even those politically conscious individuals could perpetrate are here are some tips on how to be an ally assume by park by talk people open gets better assume by talk black indigenous people of Color also known as sunkissed people are not available to teach you about their cultures journals and experience without payment stream base so by talk black and digital and people of Color Slash sunkist sunkist I they had it been drinking the soft drink no they've been literally kissed by the Sun. This is the new herb you have to learn and note that they're not able to teach you about their cultures unless you pay them and then there's this remember everything we're doing is on stolen land. In these imposed borders old thousands of distinct indigenous nations nations the indigenous peoples whose land we occupy are still here. They and their culture are not props mascots or novelties. All people who are not why do not have the same experiences struggles history do not buy pox on kissed people into groupings and do not use the positions of what group to challenge the position of another y'all. I ain't making this up notice news. There's though not notice that all people who are not white do not have the same experiences struggles in histories. The presumption is that all people who are white do have the same experiences struggles as how much time with into writing this they it goes on and on and on don't assume the culture of other groups by speaking like them or engage behavior. That's not naturally you would do do that. While efforts to overcome the challenges of oppression across communities are real. It's important to understand that all communities can perpetuate anti blackness including non black people of Color and sunkissed people accept exclusion s people from by pox sunkissed communities have been and continue to be disempowered and art systems they can experience harm in white centered environments in May need to be away from those who you're a been closer to power. Someone took the time to put this together and it's a real l.. Human being who did it not an insane computer algorithm runamuck if you're just tuning in I just read from you from the inclusion and diversity statement from net roots nation the Progressive Conference. That's coming up in case. You're wondering Oh my goodness learning new terms sunkissed that is a person who's not white but without taking the names used by the colonists use to describe them Holy Moly okay now Jeffrey Epstein Jeffrey Epstein is the billionaire Hedge Fund manager who is friends was all sorts of fringe with Donald Trump. He's friends with Bill Clinton. He's friends with Prince Andrew of the U._k.. <hes> he's friends with other millionaires and billionaires. I tell you you know let me just let let me sum up Jeffrey Epstein this way <hes> Jeffrey Epstein is a super-rich godless person who has used his money to protect himself for years of the chickens are coming home to roost man it. It just reminds me you read the story about Jeffrey Epstein in you know some seventy-three is my favorite song and it just it's it's it's a SAF is writing about the rich God of the prosperity of the wicked he writes about this describes the prosperity of the wicked they have no struggles their bodies are healthy and strong. They're free from common human burdens. They're not plagued by human ills. Pride is their necklace they clo- themselves with violence there callous hearts from their callous hearts come iniquity. They're evil. Imaginations have no limits they scoff and speak with malice with arrogance they threaten oppression their mouths lay claim to heaven and their tongues tape position of the Earth therefore there people turn to them and drink waters and abundance they say how would God does the most. I know anything that is what the lick wicked are like always free of care they go on amassing wealth and on and on it goes and then he realizes that of course that this is the best they'll ever have it that they're destined for an eternity of suffering and misery so this if anything is a small grace from God <hes> that that they're able to thrive in this world because they really want in the next and that's Jeffrey Epstein Jeffrey Epstein Epstein has his for years surrounded himself with powerful by using his money. He's provided people according to the allegations underage girls to have their way with do sexually abuse and traffic in and federal prosecutors. <hes> James Comey's daughter is going to be the federal prosecutor prosecuting him and he will probably through the files through the seizures. It looks like he kept pictures documents. There will probably be a lot of people exposed in what what I find so atrocious at. This point of the politics is everything period in our American psyche right now is that Democrats are cheering on the fact that Republicans may be indicted. Republicans are cheering on the fact that Democrats may be adopted. We should be cheering on the fact that anyone anyone who did anything with Jeffrey ABC's indicted but we should also mourned that we live in a world where people like this are propped up in can use their power and influence to gain protection. It's very clear he used his money to be able to negotiate his way out of certain certain prosecutions or to get better deals for prosecutors. One of whom is Secretary Kosta in the trump administration appears to be one of the prosecutors who cut him a deal now people close to a cost to say the reason he did it is because they didn't have sufficient evidence he didn't think to be able. To prosecute the crimes at the time that people claimed could be prosecuted so they were able to cut a deal there had to cut a deal but this guy hopefully will take a lot of other people down with him. You can expect the media though to sensationalize ties ice to president trump because Epstein trump had a connection there were friends trump at one point commented that Epstein liked young girls and knew that was going to get him in trouble one day F seen also had close friendship with Bill Clinton Democrats are happy to throw him under the bus these days <hes> they'll make it more salacious because of the trump connection which you're probably not going to see Donald Trump get indicted for any of this stuff although the media much like with the Russians stole the election to help trump stuff. They'll do their best to make it sound like he's going to be. That's just not going to happen though but this guy himself self should be buried under.

Are you? Good are. You aren't you. Hey your, your comment about it being or both of the consistent conspiracy theory in regards to all the immigrants coming over not being that. And it's largely humanitarian issue over there. It's south of the border, it's political, but for actually what's happening at the border, that there is a humanitarian issue. Humanitarian issue got the border. I was okay. So it may be slightly different than what you're saying. But it a, a portion of this, that really needs to be understood from the aspect of what's happening in those countries. And I know this, because my wife works directly with a lot of these folks these immigrants that come in my wife's from Puerto Rico. She does a lot of work with them. And the stories that these folks are being told down in these countries about how easy it is to just come over and fed up home over here. They are totally being lied to and it's groups that are putting large groups of people together in order to ship them over. They charge enormous sums of money over there to, to, to put them into caravans. Or what have you, yet you now, now doesn't hang on a second, because we do have to we got a bifurcated.
