"President biden deciding that he's going to mandate and i've gotta tell you i i find it deeply divisive. I think the president should have taken a different approach. Because i think the approach he took is one. That's gonna hardened positions and make it harder for people to want to get vaccinated. I am pro vaccine. I'm anti mandate. I think the vaccines work. I'm proof the vaccines work My wife is as well There are breakthrough cases but again. This is part of the problem. It now turns out. The media has overstated breakthrough cases. It turns they were talking to like almost anyone could get a mild case of the delta various their vaccinate turns out. It's one in five thousand one in five thousand. You have greater risks from birth control medicine than you do from a vaccine and yet We're not worried about birth control medicine. If people are freaked out about the vaccine it works. The problem though is that the president was deeply divisive in how he approached it. Here's the start of his speech even as the delta very nineteen has kobe nineteen has been hitting this country hard. We have the tools to combat the virus if we can come together the country and use those tools. If we raise our vaccination rate protect ourselves and others with masking expanded testing and identify people who are infected we can and we will turn the tide cove nineteen will take a lot of hard work is gonna take some time. Many of us are frustrated with the nearly eighty million americans of course still not vaccinated even though the vaccine is safe effective and free.

That's stingl doesn't like the first amendment You know this really is a movement of progressivism around. The world is not just to this country. We really see it At play in europe now in sweden for example in sweden they have passed a law and sweden norway sweden. They've passed a law. Where if you say anything that could be perceived as against the lgbtq plus community in your own home in the privacy of your home you can be arrested for hate speech now if you say anything. Progressive don't like. They considered incitement hate speech. And that's the problem. Here is the left has shown they have no Filter for defending speech. I hate while also saying they're going to oppose speech that incites hate They think anything they hate. Incites hate and The chickens come home to roost. Look for example at what's going on in bibb county here in in in macon georgia ryan the middle of the state conservative area and in this area the county commission has decided to go along with tolerance crowd. And they're going to pass what's called a soji ordinance it is a sexual orientation gender identity legislation it would prohibit the discrimination against people who are of the lgbtq plus community and issue officially. Everyone can think there's really nothing wrong with us. You don't private business saying well. I'm not going to hire you because you're gay or you don't want to say you're not welcome to shop in the store because you're gay. The problem though is that there is a christian orthodoxy on sexual ethics that marriage is between a man and a woman and sex. Outside of marriage is wrong and that god makes us male and female and if you're a christian who are committed to orthodox christianity..

Because you've gotta get what a pool of people who are registered voters who have cell phone numbers not just landline phone numbers. No why landline phone numbers tend to skew older and skew wider. So you need people with cell phones to get a more diverse pool of voters you want as as as diverse. Apulia voters as you possibly can and so it becomes harder to pull at a statewide level. Take the polling here in Georgia right now. The University of Georgia in the Atlanta Journal Constitution have conducted a poll. Are you a registered Democrat or are you a registered Republican as opposed to? Hi I'm calling from Erick Erickson pulling are you a Democrat or are you a Republican? Are you going to vote for that? Bernie Sanders or you're going to vote for Donald Trump. Now if you people want to please people you hear that. Are you really going to tell this poster that you're a Democrat voting for Bernie Sanders? You could probably not and when the students call from the University of Georgia. High like I'm calling from like the University of Georgia stats class. And I'm like Conducting a poll. And I WANNA know. Are you gonNA vote for my friend Bernie or are you gonNa vote for that debt? I can't say his name trump. And what are you going to do with with with Little Katy for from Jay? And I'm not saying you actually does that. They monitor the quality of the calls. But you get the point. I heard academic. I've gotten an academic polling call before and I. It was a student who clearly was out of their depth that asking the polls. You gotta be careful with stuff like that. I don't typically like academic polls and I don't like academic poles because they're there to teach students about the art of polling and Statistics. They're not there to actually get an accurate bowl. Consider the poll That they conducted for the AJC that had a forty one percent of the people in their survey voted for Donald Trump. If I was the pollster I looked at that and I knew that Donald Trump actually got forty eight percent in Georgia in twenty sixteen. I would keep boost my polling sample to try to get a sample that had forty eight percent went for trump in two thousand sixteen. Since I mean that's your base line for your poll there we actually know the the actual legit poll as the election in two thousand sixteen and we know that forty eight percent of the people in Georgia voted for Donald Trump in forty-five voted for Clinton. So when you build your pulling sample you should have forty eight percent. Said they would've trump in two thousand sixteen and and forty five voted for Hillary and they didn't do that in a understand why they didn't and in some cases it is a sign that trump voters participated in the polling or. They don't want to answer in the polling and I get that but still I did just the parameters of the survey to try to get that much but you gotta go around the country and you gotTa pull in Wisconsin. You gotTa pull in. Pennsylvania got a poll in Iowa. You gotta pull in Minnesota you gotta pull in the swing states. I mean even Georgia Georgia. Technically you know the Democrats say. They won't Georgia Georgia the nationwide polling for the president when he gets close the swing states matter so much more and we don't have that data now part of the reason we don't have the data as well as it's really expensive to conduct a phone call. Poll you're talking. Tens of thousands of dollars to get it done right and that by the way is why. Some groups outsource to colleges because a college has has forced labor They're not called slaves. They're called students and they participate. Because it's an academic program and they're gonNA fail if they don't serve as a pollster in the call center that night they kick out the people calling for alumni dollars and they start calling for their polling and they get their polling. And and. So that's why you can do an academic cheaper but just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's better so you got to pay attention out there'd all this that's happening right now. I can't tell you again. Going FULL CIRCLE. The polling average matters to pull an average is significant. But here's the other problem as we head into Super Tuesday. Super Tuesday will be March third though you're going to have California Texas North Carolina Massachusetts Maine Virginia Utah Colorado Oklahoma A number of these states. But when you actually look at the polling there hasn't been any significant polling in these states and a very long time because it's really expensive to poll individual states typically. You've got to rely on the media in those states to do the polling and who to the median though states turn to the media in those states turn to academic institutions because they can get a discount on their polling and the academic institutions tend not to be very good or they turn to political shops? That do the polling and many of the political shops that do the polling there really invested partisan Lee and one side or the other or in their own name. Id and they have a real incentive to get both and you see this by the way in Georgia all the time how many of the polls remember the polls in two thousand fourteen That David Purdue was GONNA lose to Michelle. Nunn and Nathan deal was GONNA lose to Jason Carter in the media hype those polls and they were coming from political shops that had a vested interest in salacious polling because it boosted their subscriptions. I'm aware of polling company. That as a side outfit runs a political publication and if your campaign is not advertising in the political publication guess how well your candidate's going to do in the polls and yet people treat this Treat this magazine in its coverage in its bowls is accurate and you will never hear me quote them. I I won't mention them now I don't want to smear them. But you gotta be careful in the polls all of this is to say the moral of the story of bored you to death of the polling is. I'm perfectly happy to talk about the polls. I am perfectly happy to tell you where people are stacking up in the polls and I am perfectly happy to call out bad pollsters. But what I don't want to do is what so much of the media does is to steer the content of the program based on polling. But more than that. I want you to get it out of your head that the polling is wrong. I'll tell you when there's a bad poll and I'll tell you what I disagree with the poll. But don't tell me that the polling is wrong because the polling actually has done a very good job. I mean even for example in New Hampshire with Democratic primary. We knew that Amy Klobuchar. Dr was skyrocketing into third place because of the polling we knew Bernie Sanders. Who's going to win? Because the bowling we knew Joe Biden was GONNA fall potentially to fifth place because the polling the polling was not wrong. Don't tell yourself the polling wrong when you see the polls that you don't like because it has the president doing poorly. Don't tell yourself the polling wrong because you loved president therefore the president must be winning the actually look at the polls critically but also with some knowledge that okay. This poll says the president's doing poorly but it's a national poll of registered voters that tends to lean by three percent to the Democrats and we got to pay attention to the swing states because the national vote doesn't matter. Oh here swing state polling. That has the president tied with the Democrats. Okay I can believe this. Poll despoil seems to be credible. Because it is of the swing states that matters. Let's educate ourselves about the police have screen about it. But let's not shape our entire coverage based on the polling. And that's something awful that so much of the media's doing these days aright I promise this'll be the end of it and take your phone calls as well eight seven seven nine seven Eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five I. If you gotta a real clear politics dot com and you look to the right side. You'll get their polling average of of where the candidates are And I pulled up to different polls and I want to read you the methodology. This is why I hate Emerson. College polling I I never ever rely on Emerson College polling on this program in. Let me read you. Why this this is. How Emerson College describes its methodology? Data was collected using both an interactive. Voice Response System. That means a robocall of land. Line only phones so they didn't call cell phones. They only call land lines and they used an interactive voice. Response is to meaning. They used a robo call. They didn't use a live operator. People are more likely to actually pay attention to live operators than to robocalls. But that's not only. Let me read you. The sentence data was collected using both at Interactive Voice Response System of landline only phones and an online panel presided by provided by Amazon Turk. What is Amazon Turk Amazon? Turk is a system where you can go on and say hey I got a job I need somebody to do. And people will bid on it on Amazon and say I'll do the work so a bunch of people bid on doing polling for Emerson College who may have no background in polling so random Joe on the Internet decided they were GonNa do Emerson College polling were. They didn't even use students at a call screening program at a call facility. They used Amazon Turk. They bid it out to random people at minimum wage on Amazon. Don't believe in bully now contrast that with ABC News. Here's the ABC News. Washington Post methodology was conducted by landline and cellular telephones in English and Spanish among random national sample of one thousand sixty six adults results have a margin of three point. Five percent including the design effect partisan divisions are twenty nine. Democrat twenty five Republican thirty seven independent. Which is actually a very good balance skew For how people respond so in other words. Abc News used actual live operators and they call people in English and in Spanish and they did cell phones landlines meaning. Abc has a fairly accurate polling sample. That shows that Sanders and Bloomberg are on the rise and Biden is falling and there's a big degree of of who is electable in who is not That Matters Okay. When we come back we can shift gears now. William bar threatening to resign man the media is having a field day over Bernie Sanders Health They want as medical records and he says nothing common. And that's all the media wants to talk about. Today is Birdie Sanders medical records in winner. They coming out will they come out. anybody going to release them and nothing doing from from his campaign. They're out attacking Mike Bloomberg who apparently has irregular heartbeat trying to raise the profile of that. Now this either she and this is not coordinated. There are a lot of people out there today. Saito this is all coordinated stuff it's not actually coordinated what happens is that the media has a herd mentality in the herd mentality. They all rush forward With the same story is what happens is the typically. If you're savvy at politics you understand that. There's a herd mentality you understand that the media is going to rush out and they're going to seize on something if all you gotta do is is is heard them. Properly and good political advisers can heard the media and in hurting the media. They will calls all sorts of problems for various candidates in right now it is happened to poor. Ol' Bernie Sanders. I mean couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I guess you could say that the media is now out to get him on his health records. He had a heart attack on the campaign trail not too long ago. And now the media saying hey when are you gonNA give us the rest of your medical records and Bernie does not want to give his medical records which makes you wonder? What is he hiding? And that's what the media Presumption is they're burning must be hiding something bad about his medical records because he's not letting us know what's going on with us with his health. Well it's not going to do them any good right now. He's not going to cough up anything else Which is hilarious. That they they've they're they're not asking. They're not asking about the About Donald Trump's tax records right now. They're too interested in Bernie Sanders Health To be able to to actually get out there and ask any more about it they. His campaign adviser had a meltdown on CNN earlier. John Berman. Who she was essentially making these wild claims that the media needed to be asking about Mike Bloomberg Health Not Bernie. Sanders is health and John. Berman says will. He hasn't had a heart attack on the campaign trail and was like he's had multiple heart attacks in an irregular heartbeat. He actually hasn't had any heart attacks that anyone knows. Maybe he has. Maybe he needs to release those medical records But man the media out to get Bernie right now. You can't help but feel sympathetic to the Brady campaign come out for example and said that Fox News treats them better than MSNBC and it's True Fox News has treated him better than MSNBC BECAUSE MSNBC really really really wants to win they really really really are To the left and it is necessary for them to try to pick off Bernie Sanders so that they have a better shot in two thousand twenty. Gets the president now. It doesn't help Bernie Sanders when he has people out on the campaign trail Actively encouraging socialism..

"But the president does have to do something to get these people on board because the president is in November. GonNa need every vote. He can get now. I can predict it to you. Exactly in fact Charlie we should flag this moment. Here as I make this prediction because I can tell you exactly what's going to happen this year. No one's GonNa believe any polls rules that show the president behind and they'll say twenty sixteen. The polling was wrong. The bowling was actually right in two thousand sixteen. It was the Electoral College. That was the problem for the Democrats and so with the media is going to do is the media is going to take New York and California the polls and the museum look at battleground states. The media's GonNa look at at Arizona in Pennsylvania Wisconsin and Michigan in an Iowan states like that and the people are still going to dismiss it all and if the racist close and the president wins the media. The Democrats are GONNA say well. He probably stole it again. And they're going to discredit again. If the president doesn't win you're GONNA have a bunch of the president's supporters blame mm-hmm the media and the Democrats and the Russians Ukrainians and the Chinese and everyone else neither side is going to be willing to take the loss. Whoever loses in the middle of this there will come a reckoning on the evangelical side of the people who decided that it was more important to hump the presence like to worry about a soul? I got to tell you the the number the people who just want to be close to the president until him flattery things I I've unlike most of you. I've met this President Multiple Times. I've had multiple multiple phone calls. He has called me at home. He's called me on my cell phone. I I've been up to New York City before he became president and interviewed him for over an hour. Hung out with him I can tell oh you this. Everyone in that position likes to have people around them who tell them what they want to hear. Everybody does but he also mature enough as an individual to understand. He needs gets people to tell him hard truths and they. He needs people to tell him when things not going. Well he needs people to tell him when he screwed up and he understands these things and he may not at like it but he handles it and he seeks out. People weren't willing to kiss his butt and these people don't seem to understand it. They they they really don't and they're hurting the entire evangelical 'cause when they go on TV and say stupid things and defensive presence bad behavior as opposed to call him out at the same time the media in this country fundamentally and mentally misunderstands evangelical. They fundamentally misunderstand Christianity in large part because they don't even go to church they don't understand the basics of it and the rest of us have to spend our time time setting the record straight that the president went to the march for life instead of having its leaders come to him was a really big deal and shows the president is in this to win this November and does want to expand his base of support..

"But I don't know why. The Senate of the United States needs to do the job of the House Democrats when they failed to even lift a finger to try to make the fight to make it happen. I do not understand understand why the Senate should be forced to call witnesses. The House of Representatives never even bothered to talk to in that is one of the keys here these when the house says they want witnesses in the Senate. They don't want the witnesses that have already testified in the house. They want New People. They've never talked to and the media doesn't raise that point enough they don't what field a hill they don't want I always entertainment. They want Mick Mulvaney. They want John Bolton they want the people who had direct knowledge the direct contact with the president of the people. The House called. Halden chose not to call and now they want the Senate call and they believe it's a dereliction of duty on the Senate did not call him. No it was a dereliction of duty on the house to not call them it. Is Eric Erickson here. The full all number two and be a part of the program. Eight seven seven nine seven Eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four two five there will be a recipe I have already logged it in For Wednesday I will be sending out a recipe if you want the recipe. It is a cast iron pizza. You make it an cast iron skillet in the oven It is a good recipe. And you'll enjoy it and the way to get. It is to text the word recipe. Two three three seven seven seven. It'll go out on Wednesday text the word recipe two three three seven seven seven. You will get the cast iron pizza recipe on Wednesday. I've already already set it so I can set it in. Forget it so you actually will get the recipe I want to actually highlight for you though the conservative army. I WANNA get into Georgia news when we come back in the legislature There's a growing since among people in the United States House representatives that they are going to not the United States in the Georgia House representatives at the speaker of the house David Roulston is going to scuttle The agenda of Brian jump in particular. He wants to scuttle a a couple of things that the governor wants to do. One is adoption reform in the state. David Rolston seems willing to undermine that and another is some electoral reform. The Governor is concerned about the Kelley. Law Flirt Leffler race and he the governor and the Secretary of state want to require a primary for the runoff or at at least they want to require the that. If you're going to run in this race you need to qualify when everyone else qualifies for these racists. Why according to current law in the state though the election is in November and it's a jungle primary where everybody piles into one race the the the actual registration for the special election does it won't take place until the beginning of October now? That complicates things. Because you gotta you gotTa get the Ballot Ready Eddie and early voting start so soon thereafter It could be cumbersome to get the ballots ready with that many people. They're expecting a large number of people for that race. So they want to go on and enforce the People Force People's hands if you if you want to run for the special election you got to qualify when everyone else qualifies in March that would also to some degree throw. Throw it in disarray for the Democrats. Frankly Ralph warnock is thinking of running. He is the pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. The Democrats are trying to get him to run. Looks like he's going to do what they want to rally around him. The governor wants to go in Clearfield Part of this as well has to do with Doug Collins. The Speaker of the House David Ralston in Doug Collins were friends Collins was a supporter of that leadership and Roulston wants to undermine. The governor's pick of Kelly Leffler and helped Doug Collins if he can or someone else and the the speaker and the governor looks like maybe going to war so you you probably need to get in the conservative army army. Two three three seven seven seven so we can help the governor against the speaker. Hello and welcome it. Is Eric Erickson here. The Eric Erickson show. We'll all over the place now. The full number. You WanNa be a part of the program. Eight seven seven nine seven Eric. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five. I got one inger email from somebody who called it said the call screener was rude. I assure you I have a professional goal screener and you probably couldn't get to your point. I stand by my callscreener We've been through a lot together in any of it. You can call if you on a dare risk the ire of the call screener for not being able to get to your point. Eight seven seven nine seven three seven four to five I I I WANNA move into some Georgia's stuff It's it's been a little bit of time on on Georgia news here in this hour beginning with the Georgia Senate situation. Ted Terry has dropped other daily race. Sixty thousand dollars. I actually have to say I'm a little bit surprised for those of you who don't know who Torri is in clearly clearly. Not Enough people knew who Ted Terry was Ted Teary or was is. He's not dead. He just dropped the race. Ted Terry is the mayor of Clarkston Georgia. Clark not ah not not Clarksville but Clarkston Clarkston is in the Metro Atlanta area. It's considered the most Progressive City in Georgia and he was known as the millennial maier-witt which kind of you you know aggravates me You heard you heard if you heard crisper that Hussein he he is technically a lineal. He and I We're not that far apart in age and yet I I'm in the I'm in the millennial period and the genetic period he's in the millennial period just because a couple years difference but We have make basically the same pop culture references in in what we grew up with the same stuff basically and Ted Terry though is known as the millennial mayor which apparently he was the first millennial elected teeny thing in Georgia as they may oral seed and Oh my goodness we gotta call them. The millennial Maher he's just the mayor Clarkston. He's also hyper aggressive. He's a huge environmentalist. He is hugely usually into The legalize marijuana seen he is very big into sanctuary city. Seen He's very big into government healthcare for all climate change advocacy The on and on it goes. He is hyper progressive. And he was on the queer eye show on net flicks. He was not one of the gay dudes. He was one of the dudes getting the makeover from the gay dudes he They made him. He grew a lot. This Don's beard Ted. Terry we did for those of you. Don't know what a resistor apparently it's the thing where you pledge you're not going to shave until Donald Trump is defeated. I oh I didn't know that was a thing you're not GonNa Shave until Donald Trump is defeated. Well the the queer do queer eye guys made Ted Terry Shave or or at least trim up his resistance beard so he didn't shave it off. He gets to keep it but he had to scale it back and By all accounts you should know. He's a very nice guy. I have several friends of mine. Who fundamentally disagree with him as much as I would fundamentally disagree with him but as a great guy go hang Out We go to a braves game. Grab a beer. Whatever you disagree on everything politically with EMI's very out there left on his politics and he decided he would use the Stacey Gabriel model of rallying the left in Georgia to get himself the nomination and it did not work out so he decided instead to ooh to play true believer and he distanced himself from abilities to raise massive piles of cash? Unlike Theresa Tomlinson and who is picked up now what Jason Carter's endorsement former state senator ran against as deal Theresa Tomlinson. Everybody's trying to rally to keep Jon Ossoff down now now. Here's what you need to know about. Jon Ossoff Jon Ossoff you will recall. Spent thirty million dollars to lose to Karen Handel special election in Georgia. Six in two thousand in win seventeen he still has a lot of his major liberal connections and the left did not go with Ted Tyrian. I expected they would go ahead Terry. Instead they waited for off Ossoff has got back in and they're pouring money into his race. There is a problem behind the the scenes. This is all David Produce Race. In behind the scenes there are a lot of Democrats who are convinced that Jon Ossoff cannot actually beat David Purdue and they have grown fearful of the idea of having Jon Ossoff against David Purdue and the problem is because because well they wanNA beat David Perdue and if they think that they can't beat beat David Purdue with John off they gotta find somebody in meanwhile they have melts of off money to come into the state now again. You do need understand here in a and follow with me here. I hope I'm not losing you down the down. The trail of all these candidates antedates the Democrats believe that they can beat. David Perdue in Georgia. They're wrong on that and you need to know the wrong objectively so they are wrong Barring some sort of scandal David Purdue is GonNa win reelection. The reason Dave produce win reelection is because Republicans still have a turnout advantage in Georgia and Republicans will vote for David Purdue because as much as the national media believes leaves. The David Perdue is just a stand in the shadow of Donald Trump and his own man. Georgia voters have established. The David Purdue is his old man has his own record has his own agenda and they tend to like it. Same with Kelly Leffler as long as the Republicans. Don't end up in a civil war here over Leffler and by the way. The Democrats and David Ralston together are working to build a civil war. We will get to that in just a minute As long as the Republican stay United David Purdue and Kelly Leffler they're going to go back to the Senate and privately some of the major democratic strategist no this privately privately even Democrats here in Georgia this but privately Democrats here in Georgia also understand something else. They are going to have a hard title beating. David Perdue with someone young and progressive light. Jon Ossoff who may be able to rally progressives in Atlanta and Savannah and the suburbs but will turn off everyone else. Because he's not from around here Jon. ossoff is is not from around here and he doesn't sound like each from around here Theresa Tomlinson maybe an opportunist but she is from here and people recognize. She is from here and she sounds like she's from here. Here's she sounds like she's been a part of the Georgia community not just the Columbus community and she sounds like someone who is not going to scare middle of the road voters they they want to find someone who can beat David. Purdue and and Theresa Tomlinson is who they're hitching their wagons to she's been out trying to out progressive Ted Terry for a while now. Now and now she's going to go back to being the reasonable businesswoman. By the way. Where does this leave? Sarah Rix Amigo. Has Anybody in the state of Georgia. Seen Zero Rigs Amigo. This is a woman who who I did. A big splash with a big campaign ad To say she's going to run she was was the lieutenant. Governor Pick for the Democrats and twenty eighteen ran a statewide race came close lows filed a lawsuit it got thrown out of court. She believes that essentially she had that race stolen from her. And the way that Stacey Abrams believes that the Google governor's race was stolen from her. But nobody's seen her says whereas Sarah Rigs Amigo. It is amazing to me that a statewide candidate who two years ago narrowly we lost. A lieutenant governor's race could not be a viable contender this year. This is how bad it is for the Democrats in Georgia and therein. There in lies the issue overall for the Georgia Senate race for Democrats Georgia. They don't have a bench that's why also has jumped in and that's why Tomlinson is having trouble gaining traction and that's why the Democrats are concerned about the Leffler race they are. They're they are moving heaven and earth to try to get Ralph warnock to run against The to run against Kelly. Leffler Ralph. WARNOCK is the minister in charge of Ebeneezer Baptist Church. He his dad was there. That was Martin Luther King Junior shirt. He is well known in the community. He is progressive and he will have to thread the needle carefully. The reason they want Ralph warnock to run against Kelly. Leffler is because they think he can contrast a message of charity and compassion against a billionaire. They think he can rally black voters see. Ultimately the miscalculation of a lot of Democrats is that They believe that Georgia is somehow a progressive state. And that's why Stacey..

"Not the municipality the state the State eight of Georgia the Department of Transportation at a time of budgetary cutbacks. On a bridge they intend to tear down and replace. They have added turn lanes and which were in arguably indisputably necessary but in addition they've added raised barriers and crosswalks and pedestrian signs minds so that pedestrians can get safely around the area and there are no sidewalks. There are none you literally. I mean this is like something out out of like a a East Eastern European Communist dystopia in one thousand nine hundred eighty s a bridge or so back in the nineteen thirties. Louisiana Huey P.. Long was the governor of Louisiana and he built the Sunshine Bridge. It was a famous bridge. Huey long decided. During the Great Depression he needed to put people work and for the longest time this bridge. There are some fantastic pictures of it after it was brought built a giant bridge over the Mississippi River and it starts in in a sugar cane field. And it ends in a sugarcane field. There are no roads connecting this bridge or they're used to not be. The bridge was built before there was ever ever a highway to connect it literally. This was a bridge in a field the on ramp the offramp to this bridge. We're in a field. There was no way to get onto the bridge in a vehicle all because there was no road to the bridge. It was just a bridge. Huey long built a bridge to get people employed to get federal funds from FDR to become a hero so in the area and they built this massive multi lane bridge over the Mississippi River and there was no highway it was just a bridge is incredible. Edible it was a testament to populous government trying to get people to work and so here now on Bass Road in Macon Georgia the Department of Transportation it has built sidewalk crossings crosswalks and and pulls in sinuses for pedestrians and there are no.

"One one one God in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth God created at all and he did so because he really wants a relationship with us and that should just I excite and delight you welcome Merry Christmas. It's Eric Erickson here across the state of Georgia. Thank you all for listening. Thank you for being here for this. I you try to do this Christmas Eve and Christmas and then dwell on these topics as well on Good Friday that really the the most important weakened in human history and because I think we spend so much time on the news of the day and this is so much more important the eternity is more important than the here and now I mentioned before we went to break Emmanuel God with us and I god clearly wants a relationship with us. We see this Christmas. I mean he's willing to come as a babe in a manger a feed trough but think about where he had been. We'll would I went to seminary the very first class. I took was covenant theology before it took the systematics biblical theology or even books of the Bible classes. I took I. I didn't know any better sounded interesting to me. The professor was from Wales. I like Wales. I took the Class A and I loved it. I loved studying the covetous of the Bible it was something I'd never delved into In Church in here I am in seminary getting this in my I gotTa tell you one of the things I love is second Samuel. Seven the Lord's Covenant With David Now when David lived in this house in the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies the king said to Nathan the Prophet see now I dwell in a house of Cedar Cedar but the Ark of God dwells in a tit and Nathan said to the king. Go do all that is in your heart for the Lord. y'All way is with you but that same night. The word of the Lord came to Nathan go and tell my serve David thus says the Lord would you build me a house to dwell in. I have not lived in a house since the day. I brought up the people of Israel zero from Egypt to this day. But I have been moving about in a tit for my dwelling in all places where I have moved with. All the people of Israel did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel saying have you not built a house of Cedar now therefore thus you shall say to my servant David David Thus says the Lord of hosts. I took you from the pasture from following the sheep that you should be prince over my people Israel and I have. I've been with you wherever you were in. have cut off all your enemies from before you and I will make for you a great name like the name of the great ones of the earth and I will appoint in a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that when they may dwell in their own place and be disturbed no more and violent men shall afflict them. No Oh Morris formerly from the time that I pointed judges over my people Israel and I will give you rest from all your enemies moreover the Lord Declares to you that the Lord Yaohua will make you a house a dynasty when your days are fulfilled. And you lie down with your fathers I will raise up your offspring after you who shall come come from your body and I will establish his kingdom he shall build a house for my name and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be to him the father and he shall be to me a son when he commits iniquity. I will discipline him with the Rod of men with the stripes of the sons of men but my steadfast love will not depart from him As I took it from Saul whom I put away from before you and your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me your throne shall the established forever. First of all of this Nathan told David Yeah. Go Go for build. This House. And God doesn't Admonish Nathan in front of people doesn't embarrassing just says No. No no you go back to David and say no instead. Thank you David. But I'm going to build a house for you a dynasty and it's going to be ternal. Don't worry worry about building me house. But here's the thing I love. God says I was in the desert in a tint for my dwelling. Did I ever complained that I ever one more. This is the God out of the universe the maker of Heaven and Earth who brings bread from heaven and water from rocks and raises us up from the dust of the earth and stitches us together in our mothers womb and and he's living in a tent in the desert because he wants a relationship with his people. That's an amazing God. That is an amazing God. He doesn't need a he doesn't need a fancy house he just wants to be with this people. All of human history is God wanting to be with his people. That's amazing that should be encouraging to you. It should be encouraging all of us as going to Comey says behold the days are coming when when I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah not like the covenants which I made with their fathers and the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of Egypt but this coveted which which I will make with the House of Israel after those days I will put my law within them on their hard. I will write it. I will be their God and they shall be my people they they will not teach again each man to his neighbor. Brothers say no the Lord for they will all know me from the least of them to the greatest the Emmanuel principal. God with us is. He wants a relationship with us that should encourage his car that is labor of love with Jill Philips singing from Andrew Peterson's behold the lamb of God album. y'All I gotTa tell you this may be my my favorite modern Christmas album I it is. It's incredible. The Work Andrew Petersons done when we left out the ACAPELLA little mortal flesh rush keeps island that is the surface of the deep and The church over here Watkins Ville and a we've had third day day in there for Georgia's well We've had smalltown poets from Georgia. I try to get songs from people from Georgia from churches in Georgia particularly early for Good Friday. I do and I'm always happy to have churches scum and and I'm always happy. I you know I charge a lot of money to talk but I never recharged churches. I'm always happy to come. It's why would disciplinary and the very first time I ever preached actually I got invited to fly to Colorado to preach each and Macarthur Study Bible with me and I mean I it's GonNa be good. Is Genesis one one. It was a thirty minute sermon. And in who should plopped down in front of me. John MacArthur Arthur himself my sermon. I think it will debate about seven or eight minutes. In fact he sent a note to a mutual for in devours ars that he thought I did great but I spoke too fast. But it's a great distraction from politics and that's why it stresses presses me out to do these shows to plan the music to get the request to how am I going to order the show You know I I do a trial run of the show is the only I speak off the top of my head every today But this I always record a show and I hate to listen to my voice but I do it twice. I do it once here with you now But I do previously recorded show at you never hear it. I hear it myself and I deleted all after I'm done Because I want to get it right because I want the message to be right and I would have tried to be an encouragement but I also want you to get a higher look at who I am and understanding of who I am why I think what I think how what I believe and Everything like that and in my world view and and so those who don't at least understand where I'm coming from and where Christians are coming from. y'All Merry Christmas to you. I closed this program every year. I do this and I close it with the exact.

"The annual Christmas show across the state of Georgia around the nation of the world delighted to have you with me years we explorer the actual real important topics the topics that go beyond the headlines. The topics that shape us who we are F F. Bruce is is a brilliant scholar of the Bible the and he's a scholar on Biblical accuracy. He notes there around nine or ten manuscripts grips of Caesar's gallic war. We're the most famous books written by Julius. Caesar it's on the history of the conquest of Gaul and we know it was composed composed between fifty eight and fifty BC yet the oldest manuscript. We have originates nine hundred years later. Bruce Sexually Ah he wrote the history of the city's written around four sixty two four hundred. BC is known to us from eight manuscripts. The earliest belongs to around own. Eight thousand nine hundred. There are few papyrus scraps belonging to about the beginning of the Christian era even though it was written and four hundred BC the same is true of the history of Herodotus written it the the the the most recent four thousand eight BC. There's no classical scholar who would listen to an argument. The authenticity of Herodotus cities is in doubt because the earliest manuscripts of the works are more than thirteen hundred years later than the originals originals of scripture. We've got more than that. In fact we can reproduce almost all of the New Testament from the writings of Ignatius here in as climate and Polycarp Karp. Within one. Hundred Years of Christ's death we have almost all of the gospels and a good bit of Paul being quoted. Dr Michael Brown is near there over. Twenty thousand thousand written manuscripts in Greek. Latin Syriac Coptic and other ancient languages currently known archaeologists. Keep finding new copies. The Bible liable is perhaps the best preserved of those ancient books. Having more manuscripts originating from within two hundred years of the primary sources than any other work in the Greco Roman world there are five thousand seven hundred New Testament Greek manuscripts known to exist. Some of them we can document were written no more than one hundred years after Christ resurrection and we do not to our knowledge of the original autographs. The original letters Paul wrote but there's plenty of mainstream scholarship even secular scholarship and wide acceptance. Except instead the originals were authored within fifty years of Christ's death and resurrection many of the eye witnesses would have still been alive. Paul even notes. There were eyewitnesses still living. which would who could could confirm the Chrysler even while we don't have the original autographs? We have copies early. Christians wrote duplicating. Those letters you know what the most amazing part of it is. They spend hundreds of years and they are remarkably free of error. We know from the Old Testament. The accuracy of the Old Testament is beyond question. They go back thousands of years. I mean we've got copies of the Old Testament they go back Well beyond when Christ was born from the New Testament there are errors some of the manuscript but we have so many of the manuscripts we can find the consensus of what's correct and more reportedly none of the errors affect anything substantive ears you'll get to some parts of the by the New Testament world say that this wasn't in the earliest scripts but what's added. There's a reason that it it was added. oftentimes it's because we're pretty sure it actually did happen And it was a later addition perhaps by one of the original authors. But even what's added doesn't affect anything of Substance Bart Erman is is one of the Post Christian people. He was a Christian. He fell out a belief he's a non believing biblical scholar He doesn't believe achieved. Jesus as the risen Lord anything like that but but let me read you something. He wrote Essential Christian. Beliefs are not affected by textual variants in the manuscript manuscript tradition of the New Testament in other words the the central Christian beliefs. You can't say They're in error. They're based on misrepresentations. Oh we we've got. We've got manuscripts that go back to within a hundred years of Christ's death and thereafter and they are remarkably consistent Very few errors. The errors don't affect the beliefs. One of those is the Virgin Birth. The earliest Christians believed in the Virgin Birth and they believed it it from the manuscripts a you know one of the other essential beliefs. It's this unto us. A child is born unto us. A son is given and the government will be upon on a shoulder and his name will be called wonderful counselor mighty God everlasting Father Prince.

"Two Thousand Nineteen playlist. That is all the music you're hearing on this this program you can go check it out So I'm going through the historian city of faith and e by any historic standard. Jesus this was a real human being no credible historian academic historian secular atheist. Agnostic Christian Muslim Jew You name it Disputes that Jesus was historic person. They they may dispute. He was the son of God. They may dispute. He rose again from the dead as Christians. Believe me dispute the Virgin Birth. But they don't dispute. He was the actual historic figure. So why do so many people why. Why do I believe he's God? It's not just by phase you can get there by faith but to get to Jesus as claims about himself. We we need to broach a subject. I so I I need to go there. The Bible claims Jesus had brothers now the council of Constantinople in eighty five fifty three. The Early Church declared that Mary was quote Unquote Ever Virgin and a lot of Christians. uh-huh believe this He wasn't just a Catholic belief. A Protestant leaders like Martin Luther. John Calvin John Wesley Swingley others. They agreed they interpret the references the Bible to Jesus brothers and sisters either Joseph's children from a prior marriage or his first cousins and an extended family Catholics tend to believe it's his first cousins ends in an extended family. I actually believe that They were Jesus's half brothers and sisters from Joseph and Mary's marriage in fact It's very curious that Matthew would say. Mary gave birth to her first born. Son If you look at that in the original Greek is a very clear distinction distinction there that that it suggests Mary did have other children. And so I I really do believe that Jesus had brothers and sisters. It is is not something that's GonNa keep you into heaven or not. It is not something that that Christians need to agree on. There's plenty of evidence that these early families were very close Bought Light That's what I think we need to understand. I think for purposes of this conversation that Jesus brothers and sisters were half brothers and sisters all younger than him I'm from Marian and Joseph But we at least recognized that they were very close members of his family. There are a number of passages in reference to them in the New Testament. Demint and the sense of phrasing is that these were the people who knew Jesus the best. For example mark. Six one through six describes his family this way he went away from from there and came to his hometown and his disciples followed him and on the Sabbath. He began to teach in the synagogue in many. Who heard him were astonished? Saying where did this man get these things. What is the wisdom given to him how our such mighty works done by his hand is not this the carpenter the son of Mary and the brother of James Joseph and Jude and in Simon are not these his sisters Matthew Thirteen fifty three fifty seven Says when Jesus had finished these parables he went away from there and coming to his hometown own. He taught them in the synagogue so they were astonished and said where did this man get his wisdom. These mighty works. Is this not the carpenter. Son is not as mother called Mary or these not his brothers. James Joseph Simon and jude or these not a sisters me and he had we know four brothers James Joseph Simon Judas actually the Bible says we call him jude you for obvious reasons And he had at least two sisters the tradition of the time In that day and age was the oldest son typically received his grandfather's author's name we know that Josephus Father's name was Jacob that Matthew One sixteen tells us some Jacob the father of Joseph the mother of Mary of whom Jesus was born who was called the Christ. James James is the Greek derivative of Jacob. So James would be Joseph's oldest natural son and he would be named for Joseph's father by the traditions of the day and in so we can conclude James Either Joseph's oldest natural son or the oldest son Joseph's own brother if the second son was indeed Joseph Son it would make some MHM since the first son is named after grandfather. The second son is named after Joseph that also explains why there are so many Jacobs James and Judas in the Bible Jacob in particular was was very popular given genesis so Jesus and a family he had brothers and sisters or at least cousins I think family and he had a father unearthly father named Joseph and we should explore all this when we come back..

"I like to incorporate good Christmas music. Normally you won't ever over here. Words played in the songs that we run on this program. Because I don't like to talk over people singing but it it Christmas. There are a lot of good Georgia groups groups and others that I like to play in in music is an essential part of Christmas and Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love Christmas. I love decorating for Christmas. I grew up in Dubai by and In the Middle East in our family would still celebrate Christmas. We had a Christmas tree and everything in the desert in a Muslim country I love Christmas Luke to tells us that the angels came forward which of the shepherds and shown themselves glory to God in the highest and on Earth. Peace among those those with whom he is pleased some people say it you know. Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace and goodwill towards men. We we don't actually know the song of the angels. We don't know how they sang. We we don't know whether it was a Cappella. Did they have an orchestra. Did they have instruments. We don't know if they did in a modern style or or did attend like Beethoven or Bach or Chopin or Mozart. We don't know we did it. Did it sound familiar to Ooh the shepherds or did it sound celestial and other worldly was it spooky did make the hair on the back of their next step. Was it something that comforted them. As they see. The angels appear that it says they were filled with great fear and the Angel says fear. Not I bring you good news of great joy and the whole all host of angels a multitude begin to seeing. What did it sound like we have no idea? We don't know whether it was acapella. We don't know if they had tenor. And Alto Tony Soprano. We don't know if they had an orchestra where their trumpets were their horns or the drums. Were their hearts were. They're liars. Where their piano? was there a saxophone. Was it like Charlie Brown's Christmas we don't know but what we know is the message. Because the the orchestra accompaniment is not a part of the arrangement of the piece is not imported. The sound of the music is not important. The music is important. We you know there will be music in heaven. If the angels have acquire a heavenly choir and they sang for the shepherds. They will sing for us. What's is not important is is how it sounded? What's not important is what language it was in which not important is composed beyond John? God himself which not important was whether it was divided into sections. Did they do it. In the round was there percussion where they're wind instruments. That's where their horns whereas they're brass. None of that is important. What is important is the message of Christmas? Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace as a monk those with whom he is pleased fear not for behold I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people for unto you. You is born this day in the city of David a savior who is Christ the Lord. That's what's important that message.

But you have these talks like you don't have a if you're not GonNa die and then we have. Those talks in my wife told Michigan like I was kind of a catapult in in my job was to put good people good ideas into the conversation and In two thousand nine when she decided to stay at home mom here come the CNN offering me job on TV at CNN. And you know I it to different I talked to different people rush limbaugh and Joe Scarborough at MSNBC. I talked to both of them. Russia's a friend and an Irish at the Hannity who put me in touch with people at Fox but Russian Joe Scarborough both of them who are diametrically opposed on so many things both of them encouraged me to CNN To be a missionary. If you will that there weren't any good conservatives there that I should go there so it did and it was. He was deeply rewarding And while I was there It W macy and making where you're listening to be now on. WNYC by accident. They parted ways with the local host. Oh Stu got it a little bit of trouble and they needed someone to fill it and they reached out the news director at the time reached out. I was on CNN at the time and asked if I could do morning I'd never done radio before Kinney Burgum longtime friend of mine. WHO's at the Georgia farm? Bureau used to be on radio and making. He'll let me fill in for him. One time the day. After Christmas I was a lawyer drove back from my in laws in Carrollton to fill in on the radio and got one phone call in three hours and he was an old man. Upset about the rise is of popularity fake Christmas trees that was that was the only radio experience I had so they put me on and I was there and up in Atlanta. WSB radio they ah let go a guy who was. They were raised in the him up to be. Neil Bortz is replacement for whatever board Scott to be retired. If you knew aborts is and I was on radio radio and making for three months six. Am to nine am. I got paid literally in an expired gift. Certificate outback steakhouse. The only reason I know isn't expired. Gift Certificate is because I took my wife to dinner and wound up having to pay But as luck would have it win. The new guy came. They were looking for a replacement waisman. WSB in Atlanta and the new guy basically got my volunteer position and make it. And I wound up getting his job in Atlanta. Because Herman Cain decided you to run for president and they needed someone they had no bitch and they needed somebody to fill in for for Herman to replace urban and so no. I got really technically hired to replace Herman. Cain who was running for president. And I've I've been on the radio ever since they did not know. It wasn't my job. The the president of the company heard me on the radio AD. Read my website. Red State thought it was my radio show in in and they offered me Herman's job. I didn't tell them I actually had to experience radio till after I got hired and I've been there ever since and so in August of this this year. I got the wild idea of doing a second radio show so I do four.

"Welcome back get his eric. Erickson here the Ericsson show across the state of Georgia telling you my Christmas story really my reason for doing this program every year. The Way I do you it If you're just tuning in He left on a cliffhanger. Did we not My my wife week for Christmas two thousand six is given in six months to live and I get to be the one to tell her because the doctors had to help in the emergency room and then I had to go get my child from daycare and so I go get my daughter who's one from daycare and by the time I make it home. I'm so emotionally exhausted. It's is pouring down rain and I get our at an old beat up. Accurate actually bought from my sister-in-law and I wind up sitting in the mud leaning up against the back passenger tire crying with his one year old. Who has no clue what's going on patting me on the face and all I can go? You're GONNA have no memory of your mother and I finally get up and I guess inside the House and dry us often get her changed in fed and down and I go to my office and just begin to pray A.. And pray and pray and Christian talk about the peace that transcends all understanding I can tell you it's a real thing and his family finally gets there ear In relieves me so I can go back to Christine she. She does not believe. But I gotTa tell you we we have conversations that you don't have unless your spouse dying about my career trajectory and what I should do and should I- remarry in in. Should we move closer to her parents or my parents. Or what do we do and we have those conversations and the things she tells me she says she she used me as a catapult throwing good people and good ideas into the arena not initially me But but but good ideas and good people so that other people can judge those ideas. And that's what I should do with my life and you know well it about ten ten thirty that night. The doctor came in the one who told me my wife. They thought she had six months to live. He says the pathology has come back and they've look at the scan and they don't really know what it is but they don't actually think it's cancer having relooked at it. They don't think that it's cancer. She's GonNa be. She's she's here with me today. She was fine She had a rare condition That they had never seen before the the Mayo Clinic was able to diagnose it Fast forward a few years and she she does have this long issue and she does. She's she's gets a little more sick than most people do when she gets stuff in her lungs and we decide. She should stay at home mom and so she she stays home with the kids. This is two thousand nine now. My Company So the doctor comes in that night tells us that we have really have nothing to worry about how she's going to be fine and the next day is literally the I think the next day literally as in literally My business partners at Red State get a phone call from a group in Washington Eagle publishing. They WANNA buy Red State mean within twenty four hours. y'All put this in perspective within twenty four hours a week before Christmas in in two thousand six I lose my job and my wife is given six months to live and God is does miracles and in that twenty four hour period. I go from losing my wife and job to having my wife and having my job it was A. It was a roller-coaster after a week before Christmas rollercoaster and by two thousand nine. I'm in this job and we we Christie needs to be stay at home mom. She's listed Dr. Laura doctors very insistent on this with your health situation while we just think we got two kids. They'll be stay at home mom. We don't know how we're going to make ends meet mine. I mean I'm on her insurance because in should I would go broke on my company because I would be out of network since I didn't live in DC. And I go to Dillard's and get an application to start selling suits routes. That's what I'm GONNA do. I'M GONNA sell suits on the side at Dillard's and my boss calls from Eagle Publishing and is named Joe and he says you know we realize you. You haven't had a pay raise the entire time you've been here you haven't had a pay raise and we need to give you a pay raise and my pay raise was equal to exactly what Christie was given up in income and within three days a lady from CNN calls she says my name's Michelle. You don't know me but I'm the person who hired you got to come up to New York for MSNBC BACK in two thousand four. I'm at CNN. Now I'd worked for Tim Russert until he died. I met CNN. And I'd like to offer you a job. Does a contributor to CNN and thus I moved into TV in the wild ride of.

Yeah I liked to dedicate the holidays Christmas. Mrs Easter for this Christmas Eve Christmas. Good Friday Spending time really on the real stuff that matters and let me tell you why right now you are getting ready or have opened presence We're we're going to just just full disclosure. I'll be honest with you Doing this on Christmas Eve and we're going to rerun this on Christmas. I'm not taking your phone calls because I don't like to have other people working on in Christmas and Christmas eve of a can so not going to take phone calls today And thank you very much to Chris. Birds for filling in for me over the holidays. I don't I don't want those God bless Jim for being here with me and helping me do this But it is important for me not to burden other other people Call screeners producers guests hosts and things like that. So it's me here and I welcome you and I wanNa tell Ellia that right now. This nation is yelling at each other over impeachment. We have spent this year yelling at each other over over all sorts of things. And we're not going to yell at each other today. We're going to the if nothing else. Consider this a radio tie I. I am very blessed with a job I love. I don't consider it a job. I don't consider it work and I feel like I should talk talk about the things that really matter take fifty thousand foot worldview and let you get to know me a little better and I do that. I pause the politics and the daily headlines at Christmas and Easter Play good music oftentimes from local churches You'll hear churches from around Georgia today. In addition to stuff like Andrew Peterson's behold the lamb of God Lauren dagoes. Oh holy night in others But I also WanNa get good Georgia groups as well while we pause and reflect on things that are much more important than daily politics. I I am going for some of you. Who have known me for a while and have listened for awhile? I may sound like a little bit of a broken record here but I have to tell you that life is more important than the politics and the news of the day. And if you listen to talk radio you watch Fox News you watch CNN or MSNBC you can sometimes get distracted by the political fight of the day to my friends who are Republicans. Publican's the truth of the matter is yes on health care. your life was disrupted by Washington. DC and Barack Obama but by and large your. Your life really was not disrupted by Barack Obama in fact it is objectively true there. The economy did begin to turn around. While Barack Obama was president. People did start going back to work although not at the rate that some suggested but your life was not meaningfully affected by Washington. DC and yet your obsessed with Washington DC as are the Democrats listening and the reality is for those of you who are Democrats. Donald trump has not major life. Worse if anything you have more money in your paycheck thanks to his tax cut and his deregulation has increased the economic engine. That did begin under Barack Obama and I realize Republicans don't like to give Barack Obama Credit for helping Get us out of the recession. That began to happen at the end of the Bush administration and I realized Democrats don't like to give Donald Trump credit. This is as political as I'm GonNa get in Mike. Point is this Washington. Never fundamentally changed your life with few exceptions and Washington never will your local government. Will Your School Board. Will Your Mayor Will Your City Council Your County Commission Will Your Water Authority. Will Your state government will vastly more than your federal government and yet we in this country obsess over the politics of Washington. DC and we should be mindful of the fact. I think that Washington by and large really doesn't impact impact us As much and yet we are so obsessed with it and so if anything I I take these days in the Christmas season and on Good Friday to recalibrate the things that really matter our local community matters our local politics matter our our politics and news here in Georgia matter much more than Washington. But there's something else that matters as well and that is your faith in Worldview and your outlook. I know there are people listening right now. Who Do not believe there is a creator? They do not believe that Christ is king they do not share my worldview worldview. I know there are conservatives listening right now who are agnostic or atheist and I know that there are people listening sitting right now who consider themselves Christians and we have theological fundamental theological disagreements but we should would be able at this season to put that aside and focus on the things that matter and I should be able here and now to share with with you my world view the reason I do these things and we can find some common ground. I'm I really genuinely Amei Believer. You're in the idea that whether you are Democrat or Republican whether you're progressive or conservative or Libertarian Whether you believe in got or not were all Americans but we are all whether you accept or not made in the image of the Living God and we should all be able to find things that we share sheeran common outside of politics because politics is become all consuming in this nation and yet politics really isn't the most important thing and I want to tell you I know politics is it the most important thing had I not known it for certain this week in two thousand six. I would have known it for sure. I told the story just a couple of weeks ago on this program for those who are new here for those of you. Who aren't I apologize? The rest of you bear with me here Labor Day two thousand six. It's my wife had a gallbladder attack and they didn't know what it was they sure Simpson's were of a pulmonary embolism and we rushed her to the Er they scandal lungs things. There were was no pulmonary. Embolism they said You got something there doesn't look like it's a big deal. must be your gall. Bladder go to the beach so we went to the beach for Labor Day went down to Gulf shores with her parents and she had emergency surgery while we were at the beach. Now I had taken a the job back in two thousand four. MSNBC had asked me to come up to New York for the end of the Bush Kerry election and blog the election for them as I was the only because they had three liberals and me is the one conservative. Pretty pretty obvious where we're going. That's where actually met Joe Scarborough. We became friends And his staff took me under their wing. They were the only people there who supported George Bush back in two thousand four AT MSNBC BUT One of the lawyers at my law firm now the federal judge down in in middle Georgia she came into it came into my office and he asked me if I knew what the definition of a dumb rear end for those. You have family listening we what a dumb you're in was I said No. He said you said you don't like practicing law go to politics. So within a year I'd left my law AFFIRMA- salad melting down in Macon for those. You know the firm I left Sellin Melton and took a job in Washington commute back and forth three days one week four days the other week for about a year. You're until my friends and I can get red state off the ground during the time. MSNBC had called me asked me to go up to New York. Cover the election by two thousand five. I was running red stateful time. uh-huh quit the job in DC. My Wife said either GonNa kill me kill myself was traveling so much I we. My wife had given birth to our first child and I really have no no strong memory of my daughter her first year because I was gone constantly from Two thousand five August is two thousand five until into two thousand six just had no memory and so I quit that job got a job in Started doing red-state fulltime but then November came around and the Republicans got beat and we were wiped out to to to see and the Revenue Red State with two zero so the week before Christmas In two thousand six my wife finally went in for a follow up from those spots soot in her lungs that they found when they thought she's having a pulmonary embolism and sh- while she was gone. My business partners called me and told me I gotTa go find a new job Outta Outta work and my wife comes home and I go downstairs to tell her. I don't know what we're GONNA do. Were were week before Christmas. And I've got my last paycheck. But she has this look got her face and I knew something was wrong and she came inside and looked at me and she said that they found a blood clot in my jugular vein. I gotta go to the hospital. They're putting me on blood thinner in monetary me in the hospital like goal. This is something so Off She goes. In while she's there that day her doctor Consults with the pulmonologist about the sponsor. Lungs they decide. There's a very rare form of lung cancer that that can present itself with the spots in the lungs and and I should say as a rare for cancers rare form of cancer and ultimately moved to the lungs in its final stage and decided she needed a lung Biopsy so the week before Christmas two thousand six. My wife has a lung biopsy and I'll never forget they call me down a corridor and and they give my wife six months to live the week before Christmas. She's got six months to live. I'm out of a job and I'm about to be a widower a week before Christmas in two thousand six and I had to tell my wife because the doctors there's a it's pouring down rain and making the doctors have to go Tim to the emergency room. There's been a terrible wreck and so I volunteered to be the one to tell Miller she wakes up at. NFC she gets her. She's GonNa die. I have literally looked my wife. Horizon told her she was going to die and then I had to go get our daughter from daycare. That was Christmas in two thousand six..
