"So you're going to have to throw a little bit on early downs, a little bit more rely on Aaron Rodgers arm. And then not put the pressure on some of these receivers that, again, to this point, we just don't know those roles. Alan lazard, it's a decent two or three. We know the rapport there with Aaron Rodgers. Rogers really likes him. What does Sammy Watkins at this point in his career? Is Dobbs ready? Game one to be that elite outside receiver. What is Christian Watson who's now lost his entire training camp to this point? Is he going to be a day one contributor at a very difficult position to learn without being on the same page as Aaron Rodgers pretty much this entire off season. So those are the things that concerned me a little bit. But again, just put more on Rogers plates on early alleviate some of the pressure from some of those receivers that were not quite sure can be leading men. All I know is that when it comes time for your annual Hanukkah basket, I'm putting some hallucinogenic tea in there if I can get that kind of performance out of Aaron Rodgers with such a substance to clear up his mind. I can only imagine the kind of doors that will be unlocked in your handicapping brain going forward. So just something to think about and keep in the back of your mind. Four Green Bay offensively, there are questions there, but I do think there's reason for optimism for Joe berry and what this team will bring to the table defensively. We know Kenny Clark has become an absolute man child in the middle, but the packers needed more beef along the defensive line. They went out and they bring in Jaron Reed to try and help with that situation. We've seen a heck of a lot more from this team at the linebacker position, rashawn Gary starting to come into his own as an edge rusher and really change some of what the packers could do on defense. Preston Smith has to get back to what we saw in 2019, 2020 for producing more dev Andre Campbell, parlay to breakout season into a longer term deal. But when you're talking about Green Bay defensively, something we never would have said years ago. The troops strength at least for me pain is what this team brings to the table in its secondary with Eric stokes, jair Alexander, and now of course the ad were stool Douglas to try and help out that group. All signs point to the packers defense making a leap. From a unit in the bottom third last season in defense of adjusted efficiency to a defense that I think can compete to be a top ten group. Right off the bat, the schedule of offense is Green Bay faces this season projects to be bottom 7. And some of the lead indicators for both future success and variants should even out and point in the favor of Green Bay this year. Number one, Green Bay finished 12th in early down success rate defensively. A far better Mark than their 22nd overall defensive efficiency rating. Typically an indicator of underperformance and some positivity for things to come. Number two, the variance metrics typically even out over time. Green Bay was 27th and third down defense. There are 26th and finishing drive defense. Those should bounce back to normal rates, especially the third down defense when thinking about JR Alexander playing more than 5 games this season. Having one of the best shutdown corners is a luxury, but jair only played 20 percent of defensive snaps. If you go back to his last full season, Alexander allowed 48% of targets to be caught 54 passer rating when targeted. 17 pass breakups and interceptions to just two touchdowns allowed. So getting back a premium corner. I think bodes well for a massive leap on third downs. The other thing you love to see is pressure generated that doesn't come from the blitz. Packers had a 33% pressure rate on non blitzes, best in the NFL. I think that number's impactful when you think about Smith only playing 37 total snaps last season. I know a lot of people talk about him not being there this year, but Green Bay's already lived life without and performed just fine. So the idea of drop off without him, a guy that didn't play last season, really. Probably isn't a thing. And then you look at the talent that was added to the front 7, quay walker, devonta Wyatt, two of the first 28 picks in both from one of college football's most historic defenses. I would guess early on, dev Andre Campbell is a guy that allows quay walker to fly around and not think too much. Devonte Wyatt has had a relatively quiet camp to this point, but did flash in the packers final scrimmage and at 300 pounds, he ran a four 7, the best mark of any big man at the combine. That combination, once the technique is enhanced, probably leads to a player you can plug and play right next to Kenny Clark at some point. You mentioned jeron Reed does a good job bringing pressure from the inside. Didn't have a great year last year, but is a nice pressure guy. You also have Lowry, a guy that had a 10% pressure rate on password snaps from the interior as well. The only questions that I have coming into the season for green based defense that would maybe halt drastic improvement is if dev Andre Campbell can continue that rate of play or does it just drop off a cliff. I mean, he granted out the second best linebacker in the NFL last year. He only had one season where he graded out positively in his career prior to last year. And that was a 5 season stretch with more than 4400 snaps. He's only had one positive grade season through that entire time. Hopefully last year wasn't an anomaly, even if it's not some tail off would be expected, right? Rashawn Gary, an 18% pressure rate on pass rush snaps. That was in year three. We obviously have seen him grow up a little bit. We've seen his mold his body to fit this defensive structure a little bit more and he's been on the field more each of his first three seasons. So that was nice to see, but the pressure rate was just off the charts. And I think the final question we have as great as the packer secondary is, and it does have a chance to be one of the league's best. Which natural outside corner is going to be willing to play in the slot. Green Bay, chandon Sullivan, their slot corner, walking free agency. You have Jagger Alexander Eric stokes and Douglas. They are all natural outside corners. To get them onto the field at once, somebody has to sacrifice and be effective in the slot. Douglas was put there at the star position to start camp. Now suddenly there's more mention of Jay Alexander sliding in there. There's not a ton of depth at corner either. So I'm interested to see how this shakes out. You have Adrian Amos and Darnell savage round out the safety tandem there. Feels like a decent bounce back year for savage is coming. Did tweak his hamstring recently, so let's see how that plays out for the start of the season. Overall Todd, though, stock arrow up on green based defense this season.

"They went 13 and four. I add them at 12 and 5. They went 13 and four. They did win their division. They were the number one seed in the NFC. And I started my prediction, I think in August or September, whenever that topic came out by praising the packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, I thought it would be his final year in Green Bay. And I was actually really impressed with his restraint because I viewed Aaron as a disgruntled employee, and I thought he was making the best of a situation that was pretty tough. And I said, why do Aaron and the general manager need to be best friends? They have a professional relationship. They don't need to be buddy buddy. And now we've actually learned since the year ended, Aaron is, in fact, in a stay in Green Bay next year. So it's probably actually even better than we thought. The media says a lot of stuff about Aaron Rodgers, I've been part of that too. I feel guilty about that. But the reality is I think almost nobody really knows what's going on in Aaron's head. You hear a lot of reports you hear. I'm getting so tired of sources say, blah, blah, blah and then it's actually no information. What? People literally were like, sources say Aaron hasn't made up his mind yet. I'm like, let's know new information. It's just ridiculous, or they're like, sources say Aaron's either going to stay or leave. It's like, yeah. That's the option. I don't know. Now, this past year, during the 2021 season, Aaron Rodgers won the NFL MVP for the second year in a row, which is a massive accomplishment. He threw 37 touchdown passes four interceptions had 4115 yards passing with a 68.9 percent completion percentage is percent completion percentage bad English probably. I'm always going to say it that way though, I feel the most comfortable saying it that way. Look, Aaron was amazing. He was an incredible quarterback. Star receiver devonta Adams had a great year as well. He had a 123 catches. For 1553 yards and 11 touchdown catches. And I also thought Green Bay nailed their first two draft picks. They got two new starters. They drafted corner Eric stokes in the first round. He had a pretty solid year. He got better as things went on. He became a starter. He seems to have a bright future for a guy to be a number 29 overall pick a late first round traffic and become a starter and maybe your best corner. That's a pretty great pick if you ask me. So Eric stokes, hey, Gouda kunst. You may not like the GM, they might have problems there and Rogers, but he's actually drafted pretty well last year. They also drafted center Josh Myers in the second round. He solidified himself as a starting center, He got better as well as a year went on and looked the packers had a great year last year. They went 13 and four. First in the NFC, quarterback won the MVP. They got to buy in the playoffs. They drafted well and despite all of the things that went well for Green Bay last year..

"And I remember somebody asking John Harbaugh what he thought of time of possession, which was a very loaded question, because really it was what do you think of chip Kelly? And so I remember him doing like a big grandiose eye roll and say, well, we think it's very important here. You know, basically take that chip Kelly kind of thing. So I don't know why. That was why John harbo was, by example there. But I do wonder, getting back to the rams, I do wonder, you know, they're kind of built as this spread out team, built for speed, right? And do you think they struggle maybe a little bit more against physical teams? Is that also part of it? I mean, certainly with the Titans loss that came to mind and forty-niners. Yeah, I'm just trying to assess who these rams are, right? Because it just seems like in any given week they could beat anybody or lose to anybody. And I'm just having a hard time, you know, they haven't had the wild swings, maybe some teams like your upset of the year has had Gary, but I just maybe because the expectations were so high that I'm just having a hard time getting a handle on them. Browns packers. All right, so we are going back to Saturday Christmas Day and the double header we had and we're starting with the packers browns. Look, the packers obviously get the victory in this one and they continue to lead the NFC and they looks like they are on pace with number one seed. If you're gonna be somewhat nitpicky, I don't know, I think this almost goes a little bit beyond nitpicky. I thought this was kind of a problematic performance from the defense for a second straight week here. And look, I don't have to tell Packard fans. I mean, your nightmare is basically having a third straight year where you get to the NFC title game and the defense just collapses in some way. I hate to put this on anybody, right? I mean, you never want to, you know, but you're one like the Campbell sprained ankle away from being like kind of not a bad defense, but like a defense that really and truly struggles. And I think the scheme is certainly tighter. They had to make a change at defensive coordinator and I think that's helped. And I think guys like Eric stokes are coming around. I think they're playing better, but that said, you know, you can't you can't have four interceptions and make this a two, you know, a two point game at the end of the game. And, you know, I think to John Johnson's point, the brown safety tweeted it like if the browns ran the ball at the end of that game, they probably kick a game winning field goal. Yeah, I mean, that was what was surprising, the browns play calling and now we're veering off into another subject, but why not stick with the ground game? They were having success on the ground. Why did they stray from the ground game when the game was on the line?.

Roughly twenty five points fantasy points to jerry golfing james winston who you know jimmy. You kind of fits right in with them to For got injuries in the backfield they got a creative offense. Find ways to get their playmakers. The ball main beneficiary will be jimmy g. The packers cannot get russia right now. And it's but you know what i'm saying give time they'll get figured how but is right now their defense. Is you know the cornerbacks. Okay jar. Alexandra's great eric stokes from george's looking good but can rookie it. Resigning burma quincy this. Who may but Jimmy jimmy g. for a nice fifty six hundred bucks. "Smith age twenty two running back mile sanders. Twenty four leased the backfield for the guys in. You know he's definitely somebody would see more from as well so when it comes to all of these skill players all of these young guys. That's great you got the bodies but now you gotta get the you know. Get them up to speed number. Twenty four belongs to the green bay packers just last year in twenty twenty on this list. They were number twenty two so not too far from where they were But yes blue. Chip players cornerback. Zaire alexander strong safety darnell savage quarterback jordan love obviously for the feature notable graduated players. Guard ellen jenkins Air alexander gyro. Y hobby are goodness. Gracious gyro zander's steel just twenty four years old and the best young cornerback. In game last year he ranked second in yards allowed per pass target in third in coverage success rate. He is joined in the secondary by strong safety. Dardanelles savage who is also twenty four years old. Who is a force against. The run in also was the top five for safety's with twelve past deficient Deflections last season this spring. The packers added twenty two year. Old cornerback eric. Stokes got eric stokes in the draft To the secondary with their first round pick which makes their their secondary pretty much top two. I think denver might still have them be but it definitely brings them into the conversation On offense twenty-three-year-old running back. Aj dylan could be more help. Could be more interest. You know we'll cia. Switches out with aaron. I mean in the time that he's been here. He had fifty five point three yards per carry a limited time last season so We'll get a look and in you know twenty two year old quarterback prospect jalen Jordan love around. They're just kinda waiting for his turn. But i think we know a little bit about him in. Hopefully he will transition welcome like aaron did when he got out there number. Twenty three goes to detroit lions. They were ranked Twenty five last season this season of their blue chip players are tj hopkinson. A guard john. New jackson cornerback. Jeff aku and offense attack opini so People graduated. Were frank reagan now. The center in cornerback amani or To say oh Because that's a tough one. On the young talented detroit is built around the straight top eight draft selections Pretty much coming in at number. Two with cleveland browns Their number nine just last year. So you see the difference. Blue chip players offers a tackle jericho. Wilson cornerback dinsdale ward cornerback. Greg newsom notable players that just graduated from it edge rusher myles garrett in running back nick. Chobe cleveland ranks a bit lower than you might have expected because injuries have kept them from seeing kept us off from seeing What some of the young players can actually do For example twenty two year old safety grant delete a missed his entire rookie season with a torn. Achilles cornerback greedy williams. Twenty three years old missed all of last year with a nerve issue in his shoulder and twenty four year old dunes award has been off. One of the top quarterbacks in the league win healthy he ranked seventh in yards allowed per pass target last season he also started only twelve games in each of his three seasons. He's clearly missed. Some games The young talent on the defense continues with twenty one year old First round pick rookie corner of greg. Newsome who will compete with williams for that right corner starting position Second round rookie linebacker. Jeremiah wazoo kamara is also just twenty one in will compete with twenty three year old. Mac wilson for the starting job at weak side linebacker safety. Rodney harrison is twenty. Four has twenty. Nine career starts with both jacksonville and cleveland and There won't even be room for him to be on the starting lineup. So you know. These guys got a lot of competitive juices going on here to wear. You know it's to be tough to win some of these battles Then there's the rising twenty two year old Wide receiver don people's jones who had an outstanding five point. Nine percent receiving delay But that came on a small sample of just twenty pass targets. The browns also expect big things from third round a rookie. Receiver anthony shorts. schwartz But he still needs to develop from track. Start or real. Nfl wide receiver after averaging fewer than forty yards per game at auburn He's got time. So i won't just wait and see what happens with him at number twenty one. We have the atlanta falcons. They were ranked thirty last year. So on the come up. Good for you The blue chips stars a cornerback. Aj terrell guard. Chris lynn storm and of course tied in cow pits who they picked up in the draft. This season That brother is the future in. That's the only reason. They drafted him a so very high draft. Cow pits is only twenty years old and probably is the most valued out of all of these guys The value calculations that start off this rankings are somewhat conservative about rookies because many of them do not have a ton of value in their first season or to For example exceptions for the. You know five first round quarterbacks. None of their none of this year's rookies Come out among the top fifty young assets in the league They really simply don't know what they are going to do yet. Which is fair There's a lot of depends on dependence in that conversation you know So we got to leave it at that But yeah all right. It is now time for our break when we get back. We'll get into the middle group man up and downers the people. That are probably at least predictable. Are i so stay tuned. We'll be right back. Tired of searching the vast jungle of podcasts..

"Adams is a little bit thin at the position. They do have some corners and Green Bay they obviously drafted to your Alexander and Eric Stokes in this past draft and they already had some good Corners already. Thought it was kind of like they added to a position of strength with the Eric Stokes pics. So maybe I mean, I always saw a guy like Josh Jackson is kind of a, a Zone corner but maybe the Patriots, like his man has, he does have some length and some ability to play some Pressman. So maybe they like some of his man traits, and they could get a player like that. Who has been was an early round draft pick in Green Bay that has an exactly Panthers yet for them either. So, talking about that sort of idea. But when you look at some of these teams, and again, it comes back to what I was saying earlier, it has to be a system that wage Is going to use n'keal Harry properly and envisions n'keal Harry. And that way in Aaron. Rodgers is the type of guy, obviously likes to throw the football down the field. He's going to throw to cover receivers at times, but he's in that scrambled real mode and just wants to toss one up to somebody down the field. I definitely see that being potentially, if it there as well. I love the Houston angle cuz it cuz sometimes you just have to due diligence at this point. Include the brakes or the list. So yeah, exactly. And just again I know Nick caesarea was in to kill Harry, someone that off the table for n'keal Harry at the time of the draft in 2019. So I do think that we could see some sort of viable trade between those two teams for n'keal Harry met. Before we wrap this up, Alex, or we could also take some of these, a lot of empty Isabella in the chat, as you might expect with something like that. I wanted to bring this point up and just discuss wage. Not necessarily get on ragging to kill Harry about being or the Patriots particular, Harry being a bust. But why we feel like the Patriots can't or have so much trouble drafting wide receivers, especially early on in the draft and sort of what is the disconnect here? Is it, the system? Is it the players that they're, they're targeting? Where's the, the issues here with the Patriots and drafting wide receivers? Because I, I do think it is important to fix this problem because you can't, they're going to have to rely so heavily on the veteran Market, you know, signing Wide Receiver right. Season or trading for wide receivers that are already veterans, like stretching out on a Mohamed Sanu happens because n'keal Harry is a it doesn't work out right. You know, those types of things are happening and it's causing the money because they can't figure out how to draft a wide receiver early on. I don't know that it's they can't figure out how to dress them. Cuz again, like, I think n'keal Harry. Can be a contributor elsewhere. It's and we talked about this was a two weeks ago. I went on like this whole long tangent about if you want to go back and find it, it's it's almost like a not it's not you it's me it's it's not off the receiver, they're not I don't think they're necessarily taking the wrong receivers first off. They don't take receivers high up in the traffic often so that in itself kind of skews the data on top of that the college game shifted. So far from what the NFL game is, this is a league-wide problem getting college receivers who come from these air-raid, Advanced spread systems to adjust to a pro-style offense..

"Again in Cleveland for the second night of the NFL draft is you heard some of the comments from commissioner Roger Goodell the clock now. Tonight will be seven minutes. And counting between picks Jacksonville's I mentioned with the first pick in the second round, the overall selection of pick number 33 minute got a an interesting group of people there. They've got. They've got two of the Isely brothers. Yeah, Ricky and I enjoyed that. How old you think runny eyes? Leah's He's gotta be said I'd say so. I couldn't believe it. I was having the easiest, but I guess no, I think he's got to be almost. I think he's got to be 70 something. He's 79 you show good. He looked. Wow. Okay. Crazy way was it was really him. Say what he wanted to name a zero a jersey. Yeah, it was. It was wearing a Steelers. Jersey was zero way jersey. I'm pretty sure it was them again. Okay? Yeah. Same numbers famous zur away. That's a pole. Wow, that that is a pulled in Pittsburgh fans don't even remember that. So the Jacksonville Jaguars on the clock. Um, first pick in the second round. They had two picks. The first round last night. First pick of the draft. They take Trevor Laurence, their second of the first round. They drafted Travis at the end the running back both players out of Clemson. What do we think the Jaguars they're looking for? In this second round? I'm guessing Tyson Camel Corner out of George, That's gonna be like guests. That is not confirmed, but he made. That's just my guess. Think that may have placed a wager on that. How is that your guest? You've had to get information somewhere me from the way I could do it. Look at it. Look at it. We'll see. I placed a little wager on we'll see if that works out. I mean, they do need some help On the defensive side. There was speculation that they could go D line. I mean Christian bar more never made another first round guy that could have gone. Levi was Ricky's another first round defensive tackle. So I liked the line here. But again, it's been so if he says it's Tyson Campbell and I just saying that put a little money on it. Speaking of Ben, I'm going to spike the football like Ben does. All right, spike itself all night long. Um, they said 30 million viewers last night. If you remember yesterday, I said they would blow away the Academy Awards ratings Getting awards had 10 million. Under 10. Yeah, I'm a 10, so they blew it away. As predicted. I thought your Hollywood insider Rick Lewis. Thank you. Nice. Nice. It does speak volumes, I think on opposite ends of the spectrum. For the NFL. We've all talked about this. We've all covered the NFL for a long time. They are a PR machine. They understand how it works. They're very good at it. They have people like us talking about their league. 12 months a year in the draft has has become such a big, big deal to think that 30 million people last night. Watched the NFL draft. And on the other in the spectrum is Rick said less than 10. Million. Watch the Academy Awards Academy Awards. No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep. Jaguars have had 10 or more losses and eight of last 10 seasons. They've had all sorts of defense of problems. It was not that long ago when the Jaguars were playing in the A F. C championship game with a very stout defense. Led by Blake Bortles at quarterback and think later for that was on the team Was there, not believe you, Woz, and it's interesting because it's goes to showcase. I think something that it's more difficult to build a team defensively than it is and keep it together defensively than it is to have the quarterback quote unquote so I think that you know, just another case study in that because they bet big onboard ALS after that run, and they just did not shown anything outside that little playoff run. They bet big on that, and it blew up in their face. Jaguars have had six picks. In the top 10. In the last decade. Not one of those guys is still on the team. Yeah, that Z embarrass lot of one to the L A rams. Well, good point. So we go to rehab your career restaurants. Good point. A zweiri wait as the clock continues to 45 counting here. With JAG wears on the clock to make the first selection in the second round. Social media has been has been working overtime today, and, Ah, a lot of people seemingly have an opinion what the Broncos did in the draft. How would you guys Characterize the feel of social media. A buying large. Generally speaking, there's enough qualifiers with respect how Bronco fans feel about that first pick. Well, it's starting to sink in that Hat sort Certain can be good for this team and that he represents an elite players. The team on a baseline got better. There was the initial disappointment of not getting a quarterback. A lot of people thought the Broncos needed to address that position. It seems like the one thing that is maybe setting this team. Back a little bit from some people's perspective that they're just not going to be able to jump over the hurdle of getting by Patrick Mahomes. Or maybe Justin Herbert. If you don't have elite quarterback play, people are used to elite quarterback play here with John Elway and Peyton Manning as former quarterbacks. So I say right now, people are settling in and finally accepting. Pastor Tan as their their their new Bronco. But certainly some people out there want to know what the full plan is beyond this year, because right now, all it looks like is another one year deal. The pick is in with Jacksonville Been what he got. It is Tyson Campbell Corner out of Georgia. My response to that is, Of course, it is a horse. Of course it is. So Tyson Campbell, now a member of Member of the Jacksonville Jaguars say that again. He said he's still working on now. Okay. Get out back. Yeah, he said, you know, he's the other corner. We saw Eric Stokes, his teammate go yesterday. The speedster. Both those Georgia corners are great players. With the next pick here. I think the Jets are alive all of the trade back. I think there's some teams trying to get up in there. There's a couple players that are still left. So we'll see if the Jets actually make their pick your after Tyson Campbell, but I like Tyson Campbell. There's some people who thought Ryan, one of them who thought he should have gone in front of Eric Stokes, I I like Stokes a little bit better. But you know, Ryan being the DB expert that db guru I will say that I've seen him back pedal. You gotta get your chest plate. Over your toes, right?.

"It's 9 42 new, troubling details about the security failure at the Capitol riot. We're learning that the Capitol Police force circulated an internal intelligence report three days before the riot that warned that there could be an attack on Congress. Wt O peace. Dimitry sodas talked about it with Washington Post reporter Carol Lin Egg. She broke the story three days before the January 6 storming of the capital by a violent mob. Intel unit in the Capitol police Sports had completed a 12 page report Their conclusion. Woz. We're warning you. Now that this protest is going to be different than others. It's going to be larger than any of the trump Margo rallies that have been happening this fall. It's going to be more violent Organizer's are asking people to be armed to the teeth to bring things as weird as gas masks. And reinforced bulletproof vest, and the target is not counter protesters or or trump haters or Biden lovers. It is Congress itself, and that warning went out to all the captains and the command staff of the Capitol police. At a time when they were trying to make their security plan. It unfortunately, didn't have his big an impact on the security plans, as the Intel unit might have hoped, because they pretty much predicted exactly what happened. That's what I was going to say. It is theory that this was a fortune telling reported always. So why didn't they listen to it? Why wasn't it heated? It was heated in one way, and it was mitigated in another chief's son, who was the Capitol police chief until resigning in the wake of security failures and the siege. He got this Intel report and he's declined to discuss the details of it with me, but I know from other sources. That he got this report on the third, and that's what made him go to the sergeant at arms in the Senate and the House, his bosses and say, Look, guys, I think I need emergency activation of the National Guard. They turned him down and said that they didn't like the idea of that. They didn't like the optics of the military looming over the capital. They didn't think their leadership their bosses, the Speaker Pelosi or Mitch McConnell, the Senate leader would agree. So they said, No. The other thing that chief's son did is he decided to expand the perimeter dramatically. Usually you have a perimeter around the capital that keeps people away from The building the balconies, the portico. This time they pushed the perimeter out to the First Avenue. They wanted everybody far, far away. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people reading this report who concluded that It would be a little bit worse than others. But not that much worse. Basically, Capitol police had seen protests with militia. They've seen protests with people that were violent, but they thought that would be the minority of this group. That might be little skirmishes. But ultimately it was something they could handle. As long as they kept their eyes kept their watch, and they couldn't have been more wrong. That's Washington Post reporter Carolyn Egg talking with our Dimitri sodas, sports at 15 and 45 brought to you by your local Honda dealer. Don't settle for less than a Honda 9 45 toe. Rob would four. "Today. Coming in to pass a couple of good running backs in SEC history, Derrick Henry. And Sony Michelle on the all time rushing list in conference history, And as you point out, he didn't get there. He barely got half of that. He got 16 yards on 14 carries s O just a smidge over one yard per per touch. I mean, that's that's terrific defense on one of the better backs in the SEC and Georgia's defense control the line of scrimmage today and gave Daniel's time to throw on offense. You know, the offense was doing the same thing. The offensive line of scrimmage was Was dominated by Georgia's front five and boy, I mean some of those players. They were just pushing Missouri way off the ball, and the line was moving with running back. I mean, I don't know I've ever seen all that run in unison at the same time, but you have five guys running in the back was just right behind them as they move down the field, you know for 5 10 15 yards And this is not a bad Missouri defense is It's not Alabama. It's not. It's not Florida. So it's a tear down from that. But right now, the way there's Georgia offense is playing. How do you want to defend us? I mean, had what? Pick your poison? Because if you go get one on one with George Pickens, we've been talking about this now for a couple of years. Um, if you get one on one with George pick and were throwing the football at him. And now go make a play, and we're going to say our guys better than your guy and then Darnell. Washington gets into the game and you know we had a couple of close to him in some tight coverage, but he's so big and he's so strong and he's going to go up and get the ball. So if you want to press this man to man, OK, go ahead and go do that. We're gonna throw the football down the field. If you want to start playing soft, we're going to run the football. It's and it's impressive. To see what this offense is starting to do well, yet made two different points. There's e and I'm going to go back to the first one about this is not a bad defense. And, you know, we all know how it is. You look at the scores from around the nation and yet, you know you look at this. You look at that people from around the nation might look and go up. 49 14, Georgia over Missouri, You know, end of the season is he doesn't have anything to play for. That was not the case today. There was there was a ton for them to play for then their quarterback yet and hit knocked out of the game temporarily. That just added to the motivational factors for the Tigers, and still, the dogs overwhelmed them. Yeah, they really did. It was this game in the first half. We talked about it at halftime condo, the intensity that was in this football game. It was really refreshing to see in a season where you've got so many teams kind of, you know, cashing it in and just saying, Hey, we're done not playing with a level of intensity that we saw that this was a grown man football out there in the in the second half. And then we took the fight out of Missouri. It wasn't Missouri, not showing up. We took the fight out of them. The governor's Office of Highway Safety reminds you that the penalty for getting a d U. I can cost you up to $10,000. That's why the governor's Office of Highway Safety says Drive sober. So you won't get pulled over the locker room shows presented by regions and the governor's Office of Highway Safety Scott Howard, the other person that Eric are the other attack that Eric took in Just a minute ago was about George Pickens and George Pickens needed just 21 receiving yards to reach 1000 for his career. And George is showing us a little more every game with JT Daniel's throwing the ball and George being healthy. That's a nice combination. You got about 1/10 of that yardage today. 126 yards on five carries and And two touchdowns, and he proved again like Eric has been talking about that. He's one of the more difficult guys to cover when you just haven't been single coverage. I mean, he he made a great catch on the touchdown in single coverage. There was that the one day in the first half was at the catch, where they reviewed it. Yes. Okay, trying to remember the order here because there were so many touchdowns today, But Pickens makes great catches. He makes great effort. Uh, a lot of times you'll see him in Hill. He'll go up high to get the ball. Hey, can catch it anywhere on the field s o. He really had a terrific day. And he's such a great weapon and a fine target for a J. T. Daniels to who has complete confidence in and throwing it to number one. That one is going to come down with it, especially in those one on one matchup. So Pickens had a big day and then the two backs over 100 yards and Daniel's to as Georgia just really racked up the numbers. Katie Daniel 16 to 27 passing 299 yards, three touchdowns Has Scott mentioned lots of TD scored today. Seven. In fact, as Georgia rolls over Missouri, they've turned off the scoreboard Now there it is 49 to 14. Is the final here from Colombia. Couple of other notes before we throw to break and we are waiting for coach Smart he will get with chucked analysts and he's done speaking with the team and what other whatever other obligations he has in the locker room and we'll get down there Toe coach shortly but Eric Stokes with an interception today, second play of the game. Certainly set the tone early for the dogs and allowed us to grab some early Momenta make great field position. Scott. Yes, indeed. And Stokes now leads the team in interceptions. He got another one today. That was his first one. He hasn't returned for a touchdown, or the second one that he hasn't returned because he's dangerous there. He's familiar with the end zone here. He scored a touchdown here. A couple of years back every blocked a punt and then recovered it and scored the touchdown on the same place. So Stokes really stoked the fire, so to speak to get the Georgia Georgia started today on defense with a big play and then setting us up with the I think he returned it to the 23 yard line and And Georgia had four running plays and McIntyre scores the first points, But that was really the ignition that started this whole thing and and you know, Missouri came back. They had a pretty good second quarter. They came back to tie the ballgame, but George was able to pull away and never trailed again. After that, that they got the late first half touchdown and then just exploded for three scores in the third quarter and ran away with this one in this 49 to 14 victory, Scott reference that Eric Stokes now leads the team in interceptions. He has four This year, breaking the tie that he was in with Richard Low account. You should note friends that Georgia with nine interceptions now in nine games last year, only eight interceptions in 14 games. In 18 2008 interceptions in 14 games, so takeaways certainly on the upswing for dogs as far as ratio and real numbers there. As we look at George's interception levels this season tell you what. We'll take a break and we'll see if chucking coach smarter ready when we come back. Otherwise you get a little more Scott. American Honda stay with us is 49 14 the dogs more than 600 yards of total offense and whipping up on Missouri today from Comb? Oh, this is the.

When he gets that ST Kevin in he's playing defense and offense it once he stands up, he stands up like he's playing outside linebacker. I'm telling you what he is creating a tamari, Sal. You're like seal over there on the edge. It is very impressive stuff. No, You let him you let him eat. But last night you didn't let our producer I told Michael to jump right in there. He was sitting there brought his own utensils. Yeah. You sat down about £8 of barbecue. Thanks. Our good friend Sam Massey. I don't know how many ribs were in there a lot, And then you just made Carden. Look at it. I told him to jump in there and eat. I think he was nervous. I could hear a stomach growling across the table. Thanks to Knox and Mandy Culpepper, not sending us a good wolf Wolf Love it knocks man before always good down. There was a man who had back to back games of 26 25 tackles against Auburn intact. That's a bulldog. All right, let's get to those phones. We've got Wyatt with us from Johns Creek. Why? Good morning to you. And welcome to the Bulldog Branch from the hilltop grill. Hello? Hey, Wyatt. How are you, buddy? Good night. Ariel doing great. Which thing about the game last night? Yeah, it was good. It was good. One thing, though. Our past defense. Pass coverage. They were just abusing that tight ends, but You know, they're amused that tidy. It had a great game. He went for over 100 yards, and you're right. And teams have found something's throwing underneath against Georgia. But Kevin as you well know, and thank you for the call Wyatt. We're huge fans years and appreciate all your support of the Bulldogs buddy. It's hard T O win. Doing just that. You could certainly move the ball. Some and things get bogged down. And when you look at the numbers mean Dody was 18 of 22, but the yard it's here. Georgia held him under 200. So the deal last night. The dogs did not get beat deep, and I think that's what was most important. Yeah, there's some frustration. Certainly KB the way Mississippi State was able to move the ball, but I think to you saw Georgia Clamped down and that pass rush really shot had four sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Life and in South Carolina wasn't offensive juggernaut coming in. Let's be honest, I mean, they were their average around 100 and 66 yards on the ground, which Georgia Just totally stymied yesterday and kept them below that. But at the same time, you know they've been Thorne right around 200 yards, and that's what they did yesterday. So it was anything out of the ordinary. For South Carolina, but One thing you learn if you're fat South South Carolina fan yet we need more. If we stayed at that average. This is what we're going to get, and it's not good enough to win in the SEC. They've got to be able to maintain their averages. And then, in certain games, you got to go over your average to be productive enough to stay in the game, and George's defense didn't allow them that yesterday, the standout players on defense. Obviously, Campbell had the interception. The run back Eric Stokes had one of those games where his name was never called because he was in complete lockdown mode. Lewis scene was terrific, baby, You talk about a coming out party and I'm just hoping here in a year and or two, we're gonna be winning a monster. National championship SEC Championship playoff game game against Tech, Florida You name it and Jalen Carter's gonna have one of those meat Cleaver Weaver, Jimmy Payne type games. And every Georgia fans gonna flashback toe last night and his performance which was his first dominant defensive performances, a bulldog, It really was. And this, you know, you gotta Realized how many times were in that backfield. 10 Sacks tend not sacks, 10 tackles for losses. 10. Different guys. You had Walker. You had Logue. You had Rice, Campbell Carter. Had Smith and Daniels Johnson. Kendall. Social Ari. And Anderson. May you've got the flood gates were open and the guys were getting back there and they were making plays,.

"Line you could choose to look at still had a chance, and we're still in this football game now. And when you think about even with how we've been dominated when you think about the drop interception, the drop deep balls overthrown passes when we had guys running deep. Bored a lot, a lot of wasted opportunities. We'll see if the Gators try to go for the throat punch here. They hand it off to Tony on an end around quick inside handoff, is he the little guy kind of gets to the corner and we jam it up pretty good money. Rice. Eric Stokes right there doing their job. Keeping Tony contained. And he got a yard to the 15. I believe second down and nine. We can't stop the clock anymore. Gators let it run. Less than 3.5. Minutes to go is the wind blows here in Jacksonville. We had some often on rain today on another handful of injuries for Georgia. One early in the ballgame to Marcus Rosa, Me, Jack, saying After he scored a touchdown, he had a gruesome leg injury on the same play. Trask a handoff to Pierce. He makes hearing this runs to the right. Just want to stay in bounds. He moves back towards the middle of the field cutting back there. We'll tackle him with Oja, Lari and Campbell. Taison kept him penned in and then Aziz with the Stop around the 12 yard line. Clock continues to move less than 2 42 go. Gators, Third six now. And the ball on the dog's 12. Peter's taking their time. They'll get this football snap with about Two or three seconds left on the play clock. Florida made offensive substitution so Georgia will substitute as well. We're ready to go clock it to 12 and ticking Trask the handoff to peer swings wide to the left. Tries to cut up at 12 Yard line runs into the Kobe Dean, who's He's gotta have at least 15 tackles by now. He has been Busy and all over. The all over the place for the dog today stopped him at the 10. It's fourth down and four for Florida. Clock continues to move. For 46 4 45. Gaiters just have to make up their mind. What they want to do Go for it. Try to kick I would imagine they just leave the offense out there. Go for it. Let it run down and called time out in the field. Go Unit on. You think they're going to kick? I think they're gonna just looking for more points. Yeah. Gonna call timeout here way can't stop the clock and their two scores. They'll let it run down and called the time out. Play clock zero. They stopped the clock before they get a penalty. Balls on the 10. Pop. It's fabulous penalty fourth down, so they take the delay DeLay game and On the field goal unit out here, I think Yep, There's McPherson. It was like an extra point just a little bit longer Balls on the 15. Game clock operator Reset the game clock 1 23 123 game 20 did that much time run off. They had an 11 seconds. So this would be a field goal. Try for MacPherson. Right in front of the goal post between the hash marks. Kicking it toward the river. If you're familiar with our location here from the 23, it'll be a 33 yard Try. Kick in to our right. Try to give the Gators a 16 point lead. Long snap count. They're ready. MacPherson readies like snap it already. There's a snap in the hold of the kick, and it's good. That's another all state. Good hands. Field goal here in this ballgame Protecting you has no off season. You're in good hands with Allstate. And it's 44 to 28, Florida with 1 19 to go third field goal of the afternoon. And now evening for Evan McPherson. He's three out of four today didn't play last week against Missouri, one of a handful of guys that were not available. But I think they're all available today. Pretty impressive showing here by this this Florida offense and Especially one Kyle Trash for 74 yards, four touchdowns on the afternoon and 10 receivers caught passes for the Gators tonight. In Florida. With this wind Z will assume control in the Eastern Division. There. They have a home game against Arkansas next week. Georgia will go on the road, another divisional opponent, and we'll play Missouri. At 12, O'clock, Eastern 11, O'clock Central in Columbia, Missouri, next Saturday morning slash afternoon. The dogs will fall before and to see their three game winning streak in this Siri's halted. And the Gators will improve to foreign 1 44 28. And the kick off by McPherson. Hi hanging in Dover in going to come down returnable and the dogs will try it from the goal line cares. Jackson makes a man miss it the 11 to the right sideline. Cuts inside back towards the numbers and finds a little more running space up across the 25 to the 26 yard line. Where he has stopped right there. So the dogs with 72 seconds remaining here in Jacksonville in this version, the 99th version of Georgia, Florida. We'll celebrate a century next season in this Siri's, and hopefully the dogs can swing it back to their side. 44.

Yeah, that's kind of scary thing thinking about this one is the way that Florida executed offensively in the first half. They're gonna get the ball here right to start out in the third quarter. Here's the kick off in the third quarter is underway on the kick will go through a fly again and it'll be another touchback and the Gators will come out on the 25 Yard line Borders Rate eight in the AP. Three and one on the season loan loss was at Texas A and M sit out two weeks because of issues. They have 14 guys out for their last game. Now they got everybody back. Now they feel like the season is really beginning, even though we're in November and they're passing the 10. The sad part is too with what happened to be shut down for a couple of weeks. I mean, they're not supposed to be able to be together in getting that timing getting that Mo mentum and all that all those things that happens when you work together, but they look like they've been together since January. 1st play the third quarter from the 25 Yard line. Two receivers to the left one to the right and trashed a place take on first down. And he flips it to the right side Wide open is Justin shorter on a crossing route scampers ahead for 14 yards and Mani Rice pushes it out of bounds. It has has been pitched for Kyle trash. That's really been easy for him. The first play of the third quarter, first down, hitting Electorate looked like that was gamble that tight end coming off the end of the line of scrimmage, just running a quick little out trout with a ball in his hands moved, the chains will move into the 39 yard line. First down again for Trask. He's thrown for 341 yards. Perhaps his hands. Shotgun snap comes back to a play, faking a quick slant again delivered on the money Right at the midfield stripe to trade on Grimes. 13 more yards, Eric Stokes. Makes the tackle to plays and two more first downs for Florida. They've been ran that similar concept back in the first half to where they're just given a play fake in the backfield just to keep the attention from the linebackers. Towards the lot of scrimmage towards the action in the backfield and away from the past game coming right behind their ears, and that's worked. Trask's just open things up. Just tuck. That's quick will slant right behind the linebackers. New line of scrimmage is the 48 of Georgia, the Gators driving right to left towards the northern zone. Here in Jacksonville. "The end zone. What emotional swings we have seen here today? George appeared to be in complete control the first three minutes of the game. They take a 14. Nothing lead. Everything is going right. Now the quarterback is in the locker room. Being treated for a parent shoulder injury. And here come the Gators on the doorstep, potentially tie the game. Exactly. It's kind of what I talked about up to that first drive that Cal Trask, he's gotta just focus on his task at hand. Always stay play. You're 1/11 right? You can't worry about what's happening to the defense. You can't worry about the fact that you're behind on the scoreboard. You just have to worry about executing offensively. That's exactly what Kyle Trask has been able to do along with the rest of this offense. As I mentioned, is there sitting right here on the doorstep five yards away from scored another touchdown by Trask returns to the game at quarterback is on the right hash mark too tight ends on the money. Last throw a quick slant to the end zone through the hands of Copeland. Incomplete. It was well delivered in Copland probably will tell you I should've made that. Yeah, that was pretty good coverage there, but he got to realize when you're down By the goal line. You're not gonna get a free release coming off the line of scrimmage pretty good coverage by Eric Stokes not only at the line of scrimmage, but as he comes off, trying to run that quick slant right inside the goal line. Good position to be in no passenger fears, called either good public second and goal on the five ball remains on the right hash mark for Florida. Damian Pierce is in the game in the back field now. That comes back to trash shoulders down. Tries to run for it gets to the two yard line. Get submarine there by Christopher Smith. The strong safety will be third and goal for Florida on the too Not necessarily known as a running quarterback, either, and it looked like this was just kind of one of those dialed up quarterback runs where he's gonna follow back behind some of his blockers and wouldn't call a plus one right when you get your running back, blocking out front with extra blocker but well defended by Georgia. Third and goal on the 24 receivers in the game to leader side on third down Trash takes the snap hands Pierce one's off the middle for the touchdown. Second scorer of the year for Dany and Pierce.
