"Adams is a little bit thin at the position. They do have some corners and Green Bay they obviously drafted to your Alexander and Eric Stokes in this past draft and they already had some good Corners already. Thought it was kind of like they added to a position of strength with the Eric Stokes pics. So maybe I mean, I always saw a guy like Josh Jackson is kind of a, a Zone corner but maybe the Patriots, like his man has, he does have some length and some ability to play some Pressman. So maybe they like some of his man traits, and they could get a player like that. Who has been was an early round draft pick in Green Bay that has an exactly Panthers yet for them either. So, talking about that sort of idea. But when you look at some of these teams, and again, it comes back to what I was saying earlier, it has to be a system that wage Is going to use n'keal Harry properly and envisions n'keal Harry. And that way in Aaron. Rodgers is the type of guy, obviously likes to throw the football down the field. He's going to throw to cover receivers at times, but he's in that scrambled real mode and just wants to toss one up to somebody down the field. I definitely see that being potentially, if it there as well. I love the Houston angle cuz it cuz sometimes you just have to due diligence at this point. Include the brakes or the list. So yeah, exactly. And just again I know Nick caesarea was in to kill Harry, someone that off the table for n'keal Harry at the time of the draft in 2019. So I do think that we could see some sort of viable trade between those two teams for n'keal Harry met. Before we wrap this up, Alex, or we could also take some of these, a lot of empty Isabella in the chat, as you might expect with something like that. I wanted to bring this point up and just discuss wage. Not necessarily get on ragging to kill Harry about being or the Patriots particular, Harry being a bust. But why we feel like the Patriots can't or have so much trouble drafting wide receivers, especially early on in the draft and sort of what is the disconnect here? Is it, the system? Is it the players that they're, they're targeting? Where's the, the issues here with the Patriots and drafting wide receivers? Because I, I do think it is important to fix this problem because you can't, they're going to have to rely so heavily on the veteran Market, you know, signing Wide Receiver right. Season or trading for wide receivers that are already veterans, like stretching out on a Mohamed Sanu happens because n'keal Harry is a it doesn't work out right. You know, those types of things are happening and it's causing the money because they can't figure out how to draft a wide receiver early on. I don't know that it's they can't figure out how to dress them. Cuz again, like, I think n'keal Harry. Can be a contributor elsewhere. It's and we talked about this was a two weeks ago. I went on like this whole long tangent about if you want to go back and find it, it's it's almost like a not it's not you it's me it's it's not off the receiver, they're not I don't think they're necessarily taking the wrong receivers first off. They don't take receivers high up in the traffic often so that in itself kind of skews the data on top of that the college game shifted. So far from what the NFL game is, this is a league-wide problem getting college receivers who come from these air-raid, Advanced spread systems to adjust to a pro-style offense..

"Can you reach for the bread at the other side of the table and bring it over to me? Can you reach for the butter at the other side of the table and bring it over to me? All this guy does is rich. Cleveland Feral, fourth overall game in our net first round pick. You go last year, Henry rugs, the first wide receiver off the board. Really all this guy does his reach. Reach, reach, reach reach. I'm not saying they didn't need Alex Leatherwood. But at 17 get more pics trade back. He could have got a much later. Stock down Micmac. Maybe that's why you don't have a lot of elite talent because you're retreat. Retreat reach Hackers. Here we go again, and it all goes back to last year. You should have never traded up to go Get Jordan love. It did not make sense if he felt it in the first round. Still, I wouldn't have done that. To trade up. It didn't make sense. And last night it take Eric Stokes at a Georgia. I mean people like him is the first round pick. Your second pick you go. Josh Meyers Center at Ohio State, All right. We get Roger's another wide receiver. Can we do that? Please? Por fav or even asking for two years Stock down the lying Brian Goodykoontz. Everything's all right. I have a little thing is gonna be all right. Except a quarterback hates your guts right now Stock down to the Packers, and then finally Denver. It's not egregious because I like Patrick's or 10 junior, and maybe they're going to go get Aaron Rodgers and I do like the Javan Day Williams pick and I don't think Roger's getting traded this awesome. I think you'll get traded next off season. I would have taken Justin Fields, though. If I was the Broncos last night with the ninth overall pick, so I'll give them a stock down on And that's is that guilt show on CBS Sports Ready like Thank David Hall for joining us like to thank Brian Trade sticky for an excellent job producing this extravaganza this week. "Night that ended up getting wrong, but You win some, You lose some. That's that's exactly right. So, as you mentioned Zach, the Jaguars do have James Robinson and remember last year, he said, a rookie NFL record for the most total yards to the 1st 14 games of a career. Also signed Frasier running back Carlos hi to a two year deal this offseason as well. And in the press coverage after the first round, head coach Urban Meyer says the play with the crowded running back rooms to have Robinson and hide be the 12 punch. With each hand being used primarily as a third down back. John says you're offsides job was made the most head scratching pick of the first round and taking Travis Et en all sides. I didn't think they needed to go with the running back. I didn't think they should go with the running back. But he is a good palate. Trevor Laurence, you could talk me into it. Who had paid in Turner. In the first round. Who had Eric Stokes that ended up going to Green Bay paid intern and went to the Saints. Eric Stokes went to Green Bay who had those two guys go in the first round. And how about this one? The Raiders. Once again, they took Cleland feral it for May ox first draft. Then, last year, they took Henry rugs as the first receiver off the board. They shouldn't have done that. Then they drafted Damon Arnett, who was projected to go in the second round. Alex Leatherwood was No Backdraft predicted to go at 17 overall. Most Haddon Second round, like where we are right now, the Steelers were on the clock with the 55th pick. It could be a good pick. It's a position of need, but to do so at 17. Yeah, that's a big head scratcher, but it kind of fits the script and what it's been for Mike Mayock in these dressed so I will not say That the Jackal has made the most head scratching pick of the first round and taking Travis Etienne offsides. Offside Number four Quatro as their legal Harris makes his way to the stage to go introduce the Steelers pick. Yes, wait. He just wiped his mouth with the terrible towel. I think. Uh, well, I guess his mask is the terrible towel is that with a two on one, so he was taking off the mask, which was the terrible tied, thought he was waving it in and just wiped his mouth ago. That's not what the terrible Talyn supposed to be used as that's a pretty all those. You're pretty cool Mass. The terrible towel masks. There you go. Yeah, Not bad. Right? Alright, bad what we got. So as you just mentioned before his act agreement Packers were the center of attention on draft day yesterday, as Adam Schefter reported the Aaron Rodgers told the organization he wants out then later on in the draft at pick 29. To be exact. The Packers drafted Georgia Corner, Eric Stokes. By passing on a receiver yet again now, just twice in 2000 and three of the Packers drafted disco position.

I'm just not sure that there was going to be any package that even would have been sweet enough. And I think it's on the passes. Are you okay with that? With him dictating it? Yes, well, yet the no super scared, very scared, Nervous, wasted his career and we wasted five careers. Green beige Packers Select Eric Soaks defensive back Georgia. General manager, Brian Good includes opened his post round one press conference with 30 seconds on cornerback Eric Stokes. "The pervert events. Travel partner of the Indianapolis Colts were also joined remotely fly by Rick Venturi and former NFL general manager Jeff Diamond Handful Moments ago at 29. The Green Bay Packers selected not a quarterback. It was a cornerback Eric Stokes. Out of Georgia. The Buffalo Bills are on the clock right now at number 30. They've got about three minutes to get their pick in Baltimore at 31, selecting for the second time tonight in the first round and Tampa Bay at number 32. About 35 40 minutes ago. On number 21, The Indianapolis Colts selected quickly pay defensive end out of Michigan and I think case here, we good. They're doing a little producing on the fly. I we were going to join his press conference in progress. Actually has not started yet. So case is going to keep me posted on that, Um all right, so we'll wait on what's happening with quickly pay as he gets ready to meet the media. In Indianapolis virtually via zoom, so we'll hope to tap into that conversation and play you that before we sign off tonight. Meanwhile, we only have a handful of picks left again. Buffalo has about two minutes toe. Submit their card to the commissioner, Um to reset the last couple of picks. Cleveland at 26 selected Gregory Newsome, cornerback out of northwestern Baltimore number 27. Selected Rashad Bateman, another wide receiver out of Minnesota, and the Marlins picked up Peyton Turner defensive end up of Houston and then Green Bay picked up Eric Stoke Stoke's rather cornerback out of Georgia. So Joe writes your thoughts on Eric Stokes, another cornerback from the SEC. I think Stokes is a good player to me. The funnier issue is, you know this whole Aaron Rodgers saga and he's upset. Never drafted a receiver in the first round draft a quarterback last year and demands a trade. What do they do? They draft a corner and not an offensive guy in the first round, so it will be interesting to see as you could argue, you know, one of them, but the top you know 3 to 5 quarterbacks in the game right now. Is he playing in Green Bay Week? One, right. I think there's some unknowns with some guys like him. Jimmy Garoppolo to Shawn Watson. I mean, some guys that have been You know some premier players at times and who's gonna be lined up? Where week one of the NFL. It'll be fun to watch this offseason unfold Jeff Eric Stokes, talk to me about the measurables and how he translates to the NFL 38 a half inch vertical 10 FT eight Broad jump to time. "Stick there and prove that he can't play before you move them around. But i think he's a he's a good move and player. I think he's physical He's good up at the second level. I think he's smart. I think the ceilings the arrows pointing out for this guy. Craig let you pick between jalen. Mayfield vary tucker. I personally like elijah tucker better. But here's the part that's going to make this. Most were most worthwhile. The bears probably need help at tackle and on the interior. So you're getting a guy that can fill one of those two spots and do it at a pretty high level you have a nice fallback plan for elisha fair tucker because you need that spot take him there and figure it out with the twentieth. Pick in the two thousand twenty one nfl draft. The chicago bears select elijah vera. Tucker the offensive lineman out of usc the jacksonville jaguars were gifted trevor lawrence. And now they're back on the clock. This is another interesting. Pick matty offensive line to protect your your recent massive investment. I see a rashad. Bateman the wide receiver minnesota still on the board. What you think in here. So this jacksonville. Jaguars team is a team. That i'm interested in the rebuilt. I think they have a lot of young talented guys. It just about every position group. I do think you probably have to look into keeping trevor lawrence on its feet based on what you have. I was actually hoping to take elijah vera tucker here because i don't they cam robinson is you're kind of left tackle of the future. I don't love the tackles that are left if my guy landed dickerson didn't get hurt. I would not have been opposed slapping him at center on this roster of. I don't think you could take him this. So i'm gonna go out and do it. I think this is too early for my liking. But liam aiken berg at notre dame i think is a solid player. I don't think he's ever going to be great. I don't think he's gonna be a star but if you slap him at left tackle you get a lot of mike. Mcglinchey type vibes out of him. Maybe a little bit better mover. So that's good because mcglinchey struggled in pass protection this year. You get a guy that steady across there on that blindsided not cam robinson who so up and down with the twenty first pick in the two thousand twenty one nfl draft jacksonville jaguars select liam aiken berg. The tackle out of notre dame take twenty two as we currently sit as the indianapolis colts. They also need a quarterback. There's not one available. They could go corner. they could go receiver. I am going to throw out. I'm gonna throw out eric. Stokes the cornerback out of georgia. I mean i don't love the board for the for the for the colts where they sit at this point so i think he i think what craig kinda said is you. You look at you. Look at the drop off. I think. Eric stokes is one of the is one of the last couple. You know real quality. Cornerback prospects left before there's a. We'll say a sizable gap like in kindergarten. Terrible against the ohio state buckeyes earlier this year. I really like eric. Stokes six one one hundred eighty five pounds. He's got the adequate link there I think he's i think he's physical enough for format e refuses liking if he is ultimately going to be there. Craig talked me out of it. I'm gonna point back to their edge group justin houston's a free agent komo co tour a is not great bend bonobos not create to nico autry is not great. I'm gonna go replaced. Justin houston with another georgia edge. Matt talked about him earlier. Wu z's as you. Larry he has juice off the edge. He can he can drop in coverage pretty well. He's a long guy more of a three four outside linebacker but he does have the link to put his hand in the dirt and play off of the edge. I think that that just helps them. Keep that pass rush good enough because the teeth into is really good. And since you don't have a quarterback that you're able to address with now you gotta make sure that that defense stays good with the twenty second pick in the two thousand and twenty one. Nfl draft the indianapolis colts select aziz. Owner larry the edge out of georgia. I like the pick. I think that's a good one. Craik cleveland browns on the board. They're looking at edge. potentially to. They just need help on their defense in some capacity. Jake i want you to make the pick for this football team. Yeah who is your best defender left on the board I mean who can you pair with myles garrett i guess across from him you got the texas kids on the board Could be a potential pick there. He's probably the top looking edge laugh. someone mouthing jalen phillips to me. Right how safe is this. Is this jalen phillips territory. This about where you about. Who's in their secondary to jalen philip. There's help too though right eric. Stokes we talked about the pick. Before would eric stokes fit in there across from denzel ward. You start looking at here. I think you do start looking at drop off right because we're getting to that point. We're getting to that point. The draft for some of these positions are going to have a blatant drop. Why don't the browns take a running back. you know. They can use one. And i would go. Yeah phillips i think phillips would be probably where you're talking about like risk reward. You're getting towards the end of the first round. Your first round grades are probably pretty much getting dried up right now at upside is is anyone probably left in that age group so you could absolutely talk me into jalen phillips here at this point the draft. So if that's what you guys wanna do I would..

"That's Napa know how Eric Zeier slides into the bucket seat alongside and I said We were going to game plan, but that's a little bit later on in the show. We're gonna talk some defense right now. And ZR. Unfortunately, our top cornerback Eric Stokes has elected to sit out today. His backup DJ Daniel, also will not participate in this top 10 skirmish. Two guys, however, who have not bailed out or cornerback Tyson Campbell and safety Chris Smith. Both of whom are asking were asked today This'll week about the bear cats attacking whoever our third string cornerback is that fills the position vacated by Stokes and Daniels. You just your defense and all the players in the defense. No other books are capable of making big play. So Whether balls throwing My side or not the other corner cider to the safety's. It's a lot better so all the players are capable of making the plan. They might try to attack decide that, Stokes says vacated but No, don't like Titus here. We trust our love players. You know, we got guys that they're ready for this moment. That's Chris Smith, preceded by Tyson Campbell and this bear Cat offense. It's a spread option attack. They're going to put pressure on any defense. If they play show, as you have, guys that are gonna be new into a football game. There is gonna be some intentional targeting there to see if you can find any weaknesses. But the key to this bear cat offense. It really does run through Desmond redder. The quarterback for this bear cat offense, it is, is a dual threat guy. He could hurt you with his legs. He could hurt you throw in the football, and regardless of who's in the football game for the dogs to be successful a day you have to contain Ritter. Keep him in the pocket, make him as one dimensional as you can make him And when he does run the football, put him on the ground is much as you can and and try to be disruptive. In that fashion. It's Very sound offensive unit. They're not bringing anything to the table that the dogs haven't seen this year, however, but what they're playing in the high level Well, getting Jordan Davis back has been a huge boost to the defensive line. We saw that in the last game. There's no question about it. You know, Georgia. We've got a plethora of great athletes at the linebacker position, but I don't care how much talent how much speed you have. If you don't have the big boys up front toe. Let those linebackers run free. So those defensive lineman that their job is to contain and get bodies on offensive lineman so they can't get to the second level. When he's in the football game. It's a better defense. Well. Two linebackers won't be playing though. Today we're gonna be missing money. Rice, who is going to get that foot healed up once and for all for the NFL draft, and and Jermaine Johnson has decided to transfer the FS you truly is next man up in and where we're seeing a lot here with his Georgia football team that this week and coming into this football game, we We saw it last year, so many guys opting out of a bowl games. It is an opportunity for that next man to step up, and fortunately for the dogs, we've got just loads of talent Sitting back there. Nolan Smith. At the Kobe Dean, chaining Kendall, who's played fantastic football eyes going to get an opportunity to be on the field a lot more. Today it's their time to showcase their talents on and earn starting positions in the next year. All right, Nicely done. "The hilltop grilled had to jump into some crab skin. French fries. Absolutely. Yeah, I love it to doggy over there. When he gets that ST Kevin in he's playing defense and offense it once he stands up, he stands up like he's playing outside linebacker. I'm telling you what he is creating a tamari, Sal. You're like seal over there on the edge. It is very impressive stuff. No, You let him you let him eat. But last night you didn't let our producer I told Michael to jump right in there. I don't know how many ribs were in there a lot, And then you just made Carden. Look at it. I told him to jump in there and eat. I think he was nervous. I could hear a stomach growling across the table. Thanks to Knox and Mandy Culpepper, not sending us a good wolf Wolf Love it knocks man before always good down. There was a man who had back to back games of 26 25 tackles against Auburn intact. That's a bulldog. All right, let's get to those phones. We've got Wyatt with us from Johns Creek. Why? Good morning to you. And welcome to the Bulldog Branch from the hilltop grill. Hello? Hey, Wyatt. How are you, buddy? Good night. Ariel doing great. Which thing about the game last night? Yeah, it was good. It was good. One thing, though. Our past defense. Pass coverage. They were just abusing that tight ends, but You know, they're amused that tidy. It had a great game. He went for over 100 yards, and you're right. And teams have found something's throwing underneath against Georgia. But Kevin as you well know, and thank you for the call Wyatt. We're huge fans years and appreciate all your support of the Bulldogs buddy. It's hard T O win. Doing just that. You could certainly move the ball. Some and things get bogged down. And when you look at the numbers mean Dody was 18 of 22, but the yard it's here. Georgia held him under 200. So the deal last night. The dogs did not get beat deep, and I think that's what was most important. Yeah, there's some frustration. Certainly KB the way Mississippi State was able to move the ball, but I think to you saw Georgia Clamped down and that pass rush really shot had four sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Life and in South Carolina wasn't offensive juggernaut coming in. Let's be honest, I mean, they were their average around 100 and 66 yards on the ground, which Georgia Just totally stymied yesterday and kept them below that. But at the same time, you know they've been Thorne right around 200 yards, and that's what they did yesterday. So it was anything out of the ordinary. For South Carolina, but One thing you learn if you're fat South South Carolina fan yet we need more. If we stayed at that average. This is what we're going to get, and it's not good enough to win in the SEC. They've got to be able to maintain their averages. And then, in certain games, you got to go over your average to be productive enough to stay in the game, and George's defense didn't allow them that yesterday, the standout players on defense. Obviously, Campbell had the interception. The run back Eric Stokes had one of those games where his name was never called because he was in complete lockdown mode. Lewis scene was terrific, baby, You talk about a coming out party and I'm just hoping here in a year and or two, we're gonna be winning a monster. National championship SEC Championship playoff game game against Tech, Florida You name it and Jalen Carter's gonna have one of those meat Cleaver Weaver, Jimmy Payne type games. And every Georgia fans gonna flashback toe last night and his performance which was his first dominant defensive performances, a bulldog, It really was. And this, you know, you gotta Realized how many times were in that backfield. 10 Sacks tend not sacks, 10 tackles for losses. 10. Different guys. You had Walker. You had Logue. You had Rice, Campbell Carter. Had Smith and Daniels Johnson. Kendall. Social Ari. And Anderson. May you've got the flood gates were open and the guys were getting back there and they were making plays,.

Here's the kick off in the third quarter is underway on the kick will go through a fly again and it'll be another touchback and the Gators will come out on the 25 Yard line Borders Rate eight in the AP. Now they feel like the season is really beginning, even though we're in November and they're passing the 10. The sad part is too with what happened to be shut down for a couple of weeks. I mean, they're not supposed to be able to be together in getting that timing getting that Mo mentum and all that all those things that happens when you work together, but they look like they've been together since January. 1st play the third quarter from the 25 Yard line. They've been ran that similar concept back in the first half to where they're just given a play fake in the backfield just to keep the attention from the linebackers. Towards the lot of scrimmage towards the action in the backfield and away from the past game coming right behind their ears, and that's worked. Trask's just open things up. Just tuck.
