"Biodiversity loss also means that we're losing before discovery many of nature's chemicals and jeans off the kind that have already provided humankind with enormous health benefits. Now, this is a lot But we need to understand it a lot more and here today to help us unpack. Some of this is Dr Aaron Bernstein, MD. Heard is the interim director of the Center for Climate, Health and the Global Environment at the Harvard T. H. Chan. School of Public Health. Call Harvard Chan Sea Change. He is a pediatrician at Boston Children's Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bernstein focuses on The health impacts off the climate crisis on Children's health. He leads an organization or effort called Climate, MD. And that's a Harvard Chan See Change program to encourage positions to transform climate change from an issue dominated by politics and concerns about the future or far away places. To one that matters to every person's health here now and reserves on the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Environmental Health Executive Committee, and he is chair of the board of directors of the U. S. Green Building. Council. We were directed to Aaron by a landmark report that he authored with Dr Eric Shit beyond titled How Our Health Depends on Biodiversity. So we're very pleased to have him because when you start Googling biodiversity and extinctions and their impacts on health, you keep seeing Dr Aaron Bernstein over and over again, so Welcome, Aaron. We're so grateful that you could join us today. And did I get out of that, right? Yes. And it's great to be here. Thank you, Erin. I last guest. From the center for Biological Diversity, talked about what biodiversity is from the environmental perspective. And now you've done a lot of work on biodiversity from the health perspective. So why don't you start us out by talking to us about how human health actually depends on by diversity and give us some examples that perhaps everyone or anyone can identify with The short is that we must protect nature if we want to protect ourselves, and the past year is case in point. Over 19 is a new emerging infection the likes of which we have seen before, And we know that these emerging infections whether it's covert 19, or SARS, over HIV or Many of the new infections we hear about in the news. Are moving from animals and the people because we are changing how we relate to other species on the planet. Most often, as was the case for the Ebola's epidemic in West Africa. That Many will remember some years ago is because we're chopping down for us in other places. It's because of how we're Doing agriculture keeping animals in close quarters on they are in turn in very close proximity of people. But there's no question that diseases like covert are more likely today than they were when I was born. That's because of how we're handling the biosphere. So it's one very clear, immediate example that it shows that we have to protect nature on D Don't do it enough job there. It affects us. We certainly know from other viruses, including stars, which was also one of ours in 2003. Nipah virus is a virus that, um First emerged in Malaysia in the nineties. And you know that you below outbreak in West Africa and I could go on on. There are many examples where we see in the case of SARS. How Markets live animal markets where lots of different species are mixed together there lots of people around these air unnatural consortium to of species. And and that really increases risk with nuclear virus in Malaysia. The neath of ours outbreak happened on one of the largest pig farms on also resulted because mango trees have been planted near the pig farms. And that lured backs which are fruit bats in Malaysia to the farms and the bats carry Nick. A virus transmitted to the pigs. The pigs transmitted it people. You look at the emerging infectious events of the last several decades and three out of four. Are infections that moved between species. And the underlying drivers are routinely either some kind of land use change like deforestation, some kind of animal husbandry, livestock, so the wet markets or just large pig farms. Um and and then. The whole host of other changes, too. Ecosystems that you know, relate to either agriculture, suburban sprawl, you know, and on and on. Yeah, I think there's a word that used when the organisms go from animal to humans is a zoonotic. Yeah, that's it. We also We also talked about just the words spill over so spill over that, that that a pathogen like a virus or bacteria. Bills from an animal into a person. And as soon as you know, sis is just a disease that does that that moves from an animal to a person and what I think it is. Important to realize is that most pathogens that you know that infect people are zoonotic. And that is something that is hard to appreciate this. You know, when we get a cold, we think it's because someone sneezed on us, and it probably is. But in terms of the number of different things that could infect people, about two thirds of them are are soon onyx. They actually have life cycles that involve other species. And even when they're not, you know, so good example of the Uno sees that we see her New England is Lyme disease, which is the most common vector borne disease, United States, But there are other diseases like HIV. Which you know was transmitted from non human primates in the people on several occasions, But the virus as it is inhuman doesn't really affect primates anymore. But it's certainly you know, is a zoo. No, sis in the sense that it came from wild animals, so it is important to acknowledge that In the emerging infectious realm. We see an even greater percentage of these Diseases coming from animals and particularly wildlife, And that's because we're taking away their homes were, you know, putting them in conditions that are not the way that we've related to them for millennia. So, um, it's not entirely surprising to see the signal in the data that we're seeing more these emergency, but we are with Dr Aaron Bernstein with the.

Now, it is a Helena sell match WWe is known for their no finish Helena sell matches lately. Own. Don't hurt yourself bro, it's just a thought. What if they do something like that? I mean, I'll be very pissed off not because of the match or anything like that. But because it's like dude is fucking hell in the cell, they're supposed to be a fucking finish. But. Also lots of babies matches over the last couple must have had wonky finishes. Wouldn't surprise do that Aren't net. Talking about the thoughts and imagine You're not. You're not second to pick dude you're the. Last ditch. you know I'm kind of in the middle I did hope for a little bit more of a slow burn with it. But like you said, it's a good idea to have it in You know these to go head to head and Helen South. Sasha's Ben in the match before Bailey's never been and Allen itsel and Bailey's had a couple of matches recently where she's got disqualified to to save her ass now, she can't do that. So you know if Bailey wins. I think it takes a lot of. I I don't think I'll be happy if Bailey wins because number one. I'm tired of seeing your whole the belt number two. I just think it puts a weird and on a story line that should have had a bigger build but then I'm also kind like well, if Sasha wins, you know then school and everything but she's held that bell five times and has never successfully defended it. So why do I give fuck if Sasha banks as the champion again only never Any belt she's Right only for the story line, do I want Sasha banks to beat Bailey but as far as holding the title I, could care less because she is not ever been a credible champion. that was a false statement, Mike if she did successfully defend the tagged. Bought no singles. Although styles for six months and only defended at one time. Our. Statement retracted. Herschel? No their first defense was that many and they dropped it. And the the the second one didn't they? Beat caboose was a rematch. Yeah. I ex. Yeah. Basil. They failed it against the Kabuki warriors in a rematch. In a one. Yeah, I think Smith right I hate to say that but. I think they defended him at least twice. To some research yeah. On your is that a laptop is that a MAC look and? This is my net book. Shops and it looks like a book seen closet and open. And then I consider it like this. Now maingot, let's start from back here and I go to the other side. Mega Level of law. Hug. Forty nine days. Lost it iconic. Kabuji Warriors Valiente banks second rain. Ninety. Six days. Doesn't say I don't appreciate how doesn't say number of defenses but. I will look this up. Ahead and go on with our picks for this match. Z. Yup Sasha winning by submission with four area moves, eight candlesticks shots. Sasha being the first hit with a weapon Bailey being the first execute a finisher competitor will not exit the South in competitor. Climb on the cell wall. Eric. Shit technically. I'm next with Smitty go ahead since you fucked everything earlier. Sasha win by submission five area moves. As. You guys mentioned earlier the love the candlesticks. The legal age of drinking in America. My number candlestick shots. A BAGEL I hit with a weapon should also be the first extra finisher. No to a competitor exiting NACELLE. Yes. Competitor climbing on the Cell Wall. Okay. So I'm just GonNa read directly from the wiki. Wiki Wiki. wiki. On June Fifth Twenty Twenty episode of smackdown banks and barely defeated Alexa Bliss Nikki Cross reclaiming the wwe women's tag team championships for a record-tying second time. "Actually close with Michael but I grew up with all Japan. So that leads right into another question I had for you. Know you mentioned that you wanted to get a try out soon with wwe and all that kind of stuff. So how much how instrumental has Michael really been with what you've been doing since she started wrestling since you're still new to the game as he kinda given it a wait and see approach or is it kind of like oh? Shit? It's another free burden these all over. I think secretly he's excited. He's not come out now he's. I'll call him up every once in a while and I'll be like, what would you do about this like I remember when I first started matches. I had my first match and I called him like what I do now, and he gave me advise of the advice was go out, learn to work you know and so that's what I did I just took all taken matches and some sucked eleven sucked and. I just got better it was a learning experience and that's been you know the the biggest learning experience actually so I you know I talked to him maybe once a week every other week or so and I'll just like you know what would you do about this? What do you think about this and so he's giving me a lot of good advice and I think he hopes to see me in a big company is now. I mean I would say that that's a good bet but I had to know how much he had to do with it because I mean cory I know you're not the biggest wrestling guy but I'm telling you you need to go down the wormhole you need to check out some free birds versus Bond Eric Shit And you WANNA talk about a crowd getting hot like I was just talking to him before we went on because we had salmon Donna sign with us. Now, the last time Sam was here in Detroit. He told me before the show he goes. Yes Shit. Some Shit's GonNa get a little fucking rowdy. Next thing you know knew he had motherfucker strom beer from the from the raptors and everything so you WanNa talk about heat you watch free birds, verse Von Erich. You'll see you'll see plenty dude because I would say would agree when I say that. There were a lot of times that Terri, and then we're lucky they made it back to the fucking. Kurt. Absolutely. Like my whole life I've heard stories of people literally bringing guns to shows like so much he they have made people hate them so bad that they literally WanNa to kill him you know and that that's heat and unfortunately no one gets that heat. Now you kind of everybody's gotTA BE PC AND All, that would is fine but..

"Percents off your order with perfect bar dot com slash. Gs Eight fifteen. So what if the case is that? You're a partner. Expects you to be thin because they buy into dia culture but they don't actually support your good habits or do things that would mean they have to sacrifice something to help you. Here's the bad news like ordering yes and encourage a here. We're going out ten east. Well did you do one? I want you to be wary of anyone who expects your body to be anything because your body does not belong to someone else and sex is a lot more than fucking someone else's body and so if your partner is just thinking about that or it's or saying to you things like why need you to weigh a certain amount to be turned on bullshit. What if it's less than okay? Because that's a big overt is. We'll why didn't you get to the gym today or no. What if it's just like they're a little bit less attracted to you? Subtly they act less an in a way that they can't even like help necessarily are a little bit because it's so ingrained. Yeah so I think part of that is how comfortable you with communication because if I want to change it takes two people to set a dynamic but only one person to change it so if you want to change the dynamic new relationship. You don't necessarily need your partner to do that. You can bring things to the surface. Hey this is what I'm noticing. Are these things coming up for you and probably for a while a lot of times especially if your partner to be mailed. They're going to say things like oh. I've just been tired. I've just been stressed Mama Blah. Because they're not really wanted to take a look at themselves either so we think it does come with a bunch of conversation and you have to make sure that relationships that last are ones that you can be fully vulnerable right and that takes a lot of work from you and takes work from your partner. So are you willing to go deep with that? Are you willing to educate yourself and educate them and can they hear that and if your partner is not growing in the same direction as you that tells you something about how long this is? GonNa last and I. I'm always the bad guy. Say That but it's rough. So how frequently do people come to you with this? As sort of their P a big problem I have never had a session with any human that does not involve body image. Ever I know so. What are the different ways that that can come up that? It's not where they're not bringing this you as the problem. They're not coming to you with this obviously every time so anytime have a couple that asked about sex. I always asked about body. Image is other things I'm asking about to I'm asking you is your is your room clean. I'm asking you know. How's your stressors at work? But I'm also asking about body image if somebody feels like they are feeling rejected. They can't put themselves out there. Well how do you feel in your body right? There's I can't even tell you about people how often I hear. I'm sure you hear this all the time. Which is will once I lose fifteen pounds? Well once right well once I do that once. I do that that it'll be better. It'll be happy I'll put myself out for the promotional do this. I'll do that all by myself. New Clothes my biggest pet peeves when people save their throat. The fuck out. Rest the body that you have addressed beautifully. I'm in my post baby body right now and you guys get see me but I'm in a big sparkly outfits. It's fun I dress myself very well no matter what weight that I'm in because my body deserves that in I feel better in it and all of us. All of us deserve to gift to yourself to. Is it ever a body image issue for the man yes often? How does that play out? Usually it's really interesting and I think sometimes women. We have a lack of empathy for. I often notice like in some of my couples. If it's a heterosexual couple sometimes a women. It's really hard for them to have empathy for men going through that I don't believe it's as bad for men but I do know that statistically we have a huge rise and bite us more for men really yes especially I mean there is just so much importance on how you look as a society were so shallow. Yeah there is just so if we really think about. This is an important thing for people to do. Think about what are my values and morals most of us don't say physical appearance when we do our top five. It's often being a giving person being kind supporting my family. Being good partner very rarely does body image. Come up and how much of my mental capacity is spent on that. It's a great point so earlier. You use the word. Fat Positive What's the difference between fat positive and body acceptance or Yelich so so body acceptance is about? I'm just okay with WHO I am. Okay fat positive. Is I actually fucking love myself? I'm fat also. We have Liz. Oh five yes exactly Liz out. There is the fat. Sex Therapist is an amazing person followed his ton of fat work on Instagram. It's sort of saying like is we had this issue that really. It's health at every size weight and health really don't correlate and we've just been lied to because BMI was created by a group of independent practitioners. I believe it was nine. I'm sure they were all men although I have to look it up. Don't judge me everyone but I think it was. I think nine men unbreachable semi of them were paid for on the payroll of some type of weight. Loss Clinic Right. I'm sure so. Bmi Eric Shit. It's IT'S AMERICA. Exactly right because it's all about lobbies and that's what I mean about. We cannot take the context of relationship without looking at the larger context of your family of origin at the society and culture. You grew up in it all goes back. Everything connects to everything. That's true So let's say you feel what advice would you give to someone who doesn't feel good about their body but they're in a relationship and their sex life is suffering? But they're not they're not changing clearly and you're saying that it doesn't shouldn't need to know how do you eat people into like a advising them for now how to look at their sex life and how to go about having sex if they feel badly about themselves so one of the things they say is is usually? If you're in your head it's called spectator. It meets her soccer yet. So if I'm not president my body which means like right in also. I hate when I do that. It's yes yeah it's I think it's very normal. It sure does everyone has. Yeah absolutely right and I can't even tell you how many times I've been having sex with my partner and I'm thinking. Oh God how do I look at you in and out of it absolutely right and so the biggest thing I can say is if we're specifically focusing on sex bring yourself back to your body reconnect ingred? Ground yourself with your body and one of the ways. How do you do that okay? So right so one of the exercise can exercise. Yeah no problem yeah. It's a moment you're you're having sex and I'm saying this can happen for like it's not like Oh if you just feel bad about yourself do this. I think people do this do their stress if they're anxious if I'm wearing if the baby's wake up from her nap sometimes I'm not fully present. So here's where I start. Start with my fingers. One of my fingers feel. What are they touching? Start with my toes. How does my body physically feel in this space and obviously especially for having penetrative sex? What's going on with Michael it right if I read focusing on the right to refocus in. How does my clip feel? What do I need to? I need like a different type. Of Sensation is penetration. Really not working and I would like some extra external stimulation. What really works. What am I rising zones and ladies what this really comes down to is unique to masturbate more? That seems very silly. But one of the best ways to work through sex in your body is having sex with yourself. So what if people are hesitant? I mean I'm sure I would imagine most people have what. But what if you're like not you know experimental in that way like what if people feel hesitant about doing or about kind of like taking it farther than they may have absolutely okay so keep in mind that a lot of lot of us have experienced body. Shame and sexual shame and these go together and so when we have been shamed whether it's our body whether it's with sex whether it's really anything in life it separates us from ourselves if I grew up in a very let's say religiously conservative family right where. Masturbation was wrong. Sex before marriage is wrong. I can't tell you how often I work with. Couples did saved marriage until sex and thought it was just going to work out right. It's a myth that people are given right when most of US started having sex fifteen sixteen twelve years old. You know whatever for you. It probably wasn't that good at the beginning. It's pretty awkward. Took some time to figure things out. Even guess what guys no matter what age you start having sex even save until marriage that should takes a while to figure out right so it doesn't matter if you're fifteen or twenty-five you need to learn about your body and rejoin with it and become his friend and if you were always at odds with your body and hating it you can't enjoy it. Pleasure focused or not. Do you think there's something to putting the pleasure I meaning like. If you can find pleasure in your body that you feel empowered to a give it to yourself or get it from someone else. Do you think that there is a way that you can search love your body like retro actively 'cause you are like oh well this is great even though? I didn't lose any weight like it's still great. I still feel amazing. Maybe this weight is not as important as I think. Absolutely right so one of the things to remember is a thoughts and feelings are not facts just because I have a thought I don't have to buy into it all the time right and the same thing you know one of the things. I hate that I hear so many therapist. You and I have yet to find anyone that has been beneficial for is they say we'll stand in in the mirror do positive affirmations. Please tell me if I hate my body standing in front of a mere saying I love my body that she doesn't fucking work just silly right right so what I'd really like you to do. Is I tell yourself fuck off the best thing you can actually do is say you. WanNa know what I don't love my body right now but I'm not gonNA hate it and I'm going to try to keep working on my relationship with it. I'm going to try to keep mending. It's a really really slow process of learning to be friends with yourself and your body. I think I got off track with your question. But there's something to that definitely. No I think it really does. Come down to like for forgiveness then. I think that that would happen in all areas like right now. We're focusing on on sex and yet body that ultimately that can happen in so many arenas as we've been talking about for the past few weeks. Yeah Oh oh wait. There was part about your question right so like do I have to buy into all of this. You don't let your thoughts just thoughts when I have It's totally normal to have automatic negative thoughts. I don't have to spend thirteen years processing them. Sometimes you say well thank you for that permission working on it right so when I go down that you know what I can just say to myself who that was pretty mean now. I have to go to my next meeting all yourself out the same thing. If you had someone in your life who's being negative in mean towards you. I would really encourage you to call them out and not be passive. Same thing with yourself. Well that's hard when you haven't really cultivated self worth and I think many people have it and so they're setting you're you're starting in a place where the people around you don't treat you as you said you don't treat yourself as you showed you don't treat your body as you should. You don't appreciate sex or or give or take it the way that you should. And if you're on a mission to really work on creating more self worth a lot of stars boundaries what am I okay with other people treating me and how my kids treating myself and what boundaries. My setting for that right. I'm just going to ask this because they feel like this is the question. Would that would lots of people want to know how often do think couples should have sex every you know what I hear this all the time. All right do you want it okay? So here's the average you ready. Yeah it's typically. We think around sixty six times a year so what that probably means is maybe once a week and then holidays and special occasions. That sounds like that sort of like when we think about it. That's cystic if you weren't having sexy partner once we that's okay if you're having more that's okay to do what. I want you to really think about is quality over quantity. I have worked with couples before that are having sex every single day in there fucking miserable or the sex isn't very good is so ask yourself is the sex that I'm having good. Why am I having this amount of sex and wiser number so important to me is mass x worse than zero six? I think it depends on you if I'm having sex with my partner because it's important to him and I don't really care it's not a big deal for me. I have a pretty good relationship with myself. My Body and my sex life then sex for him sometimes just to get off is not a big deal right for someone else. That is not in that mess. Sex is really damaging this episode is brought to you by billy razors..

"Another day of deluge today on the west coast in the east coast. They've dug out of the snow and they're back to normal, but they're not back to work, and they're not going to back to work anytime soon. I sat down with a couple of buddies of mine yesterday. Larry in sandy. Al- Dixon, guys guys who know a thing or two about how government works in crises. And of course, they were around when Watergate fell in, and they know they know what's up when there's a crisis, and they look at this. And they laugh this isn't really a crisis much tougher on Nixon at the end than it is right now on Trump and Trump in uniform, but I was asked by them. When do you think this is gonna end, and I said, I actually don't have any idea everyday goes on. I think it's going to go on longer because it's up to Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. It's all on them when they want to reopen the government the government reopened processed job is to protect the country going to protect the country, not gonna an direct declaration, and it's all going to get dialed in very very quickly. The entire country understands it's about five point seven billion dollars for border fencing and other measures at the ports of entry and additional border agents, etc. And Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer don't want Donald Trump to get a political win. And even though it's so far away from the election. It wouldn't matter in the election. The election doesn't really get underway until. September of twenty twenty after the Democrats have had their west side story knife fight. Did you see Steven Spielberg is going to remake what side story by the way that it'd be pretty good in any event. It's day. I guess twenty six of the Schumer shutdown, and if you're not getting paid, and you're listening to me inside the beltway or your fed anywhere in the United States, or you're in a business that depends upon federal spending. It isn't President Trump's fault. He he needs border security. That's his job. Chuck Schumer shut down an anti Pelosi shutdown. It is that simple. The saddest story today is the one on lead with four Americans for American for among nineteen people killed in Syria on Wednesday reported this as I went up there yesterday. And details at now arrive the attack targeted a suicide bomber targeted an American military convoy in the northern city man Bish while troops were inside the palace of the prince's a restaurant where they often stopped eat during patrols restaurants said while the Americans were inside a nearby suicide attacker wearing explosive vests bloom, south up. The bombing says the New York Times Eric shit sh- met Ben Hubbard and rookie me Kalamata. Mccain is one of the best reporters on ISIS going, by the way, the bombing raise new questions about Mr. Trump's surprise decision last month to end the American war ground groundwater in Syria. Critics of the president's plans, including members of his own party said Mr. Trump's claim victory over the Islamic state may have emboldened its fighters encouraged Wednesday strike that's just stupid. That's just absolutely stupid. I don't know who thought that. It's not the fact you can't possibly draw a line from a suicide bomber and a explosive device that has to be very care. Engineered in the setup has to wait, and you have to wait for the patrol and say it happened because President Trump last month said Americans are withdrawing from Syria. It's just crazy. The physical caliphate is destroyed. Isis is not destroyed because it's Al Qaeda Al Qaeda is wahabbist fundamentalism, and it's not going anywhere. And we're going to have these attacks for as long as we live, and as long as your children and grandchildren live. This is not a one year battle. It is a multi-front war in which the enemy has a say in when they want to give up the physical caliphate canon has been destroyed. Another one will spring up some day, and it will have to be destroyed in Nairobi two nights ago. Al Qaeda, south Al Qaeda in Kenya. Al Qaeda in Somalia struck and murdered fourteen. Innocent people now here are four military people their identification have not been. Revealed yet. We will honor them when they are. Vice President Mike Pence said yesterday, the US are still waiting on North Korea for quote concrete steps to denuclearize. That's very good. We're very very very wide. I clear eyed about what is going on in North Korea. Nothing thus far. But they also have it any missile launchers, and they have not had any underground tests for fledgling nuclear power that has not tested its ICBM capability or its weapons that means they've stopped. They're not moving forward. That's the good news bad news is or not moving backwards fast enough. We wanted them to fail fast and they're not failing fast. So that's a challenge for Mike Pompeo and his team moving forward. Microsoft is pledged five hundred million dollars for forcible housing in the Seattle area and good luck with that. You can't buy enough affordable housing and give it away that look at the the section seven housing around the United States. Look what happened to quote, rent control, close quote communities. You gotta let markets work the only way to make Seattle have a housing shortage. Go away as to build more houses quickly northern Virginia where I live most of the year is going to find itself. Because I know someone who just bought a house there with Andrew and Todd dot com. They were walking me through the process with them as I was observing how they're doing it in Amazon land because Amazon is descended on Long Island city in queens is a neighborhood in queens and in. Arlington Virginia and Alexandria, Virginia. And already the number of inquiries are doubled in two months, and it's just gonna drive prices through the roof in Washington DC and northern Virginia and Maryland around DC, just and you can't buy enough units. You can only allow the market to respond by loosening. Zoning restrictions requires the advocation of power by people who like it too much city council. I remember I was a land use lawyer for thirty years before I retired to devote my life exclusively to you my audience just just to be there for you, and my Lawson's, so I no longer go toe to toe with developers. I no longer go toe to toe with city councils, I no longer try and bring houses out of the ground to benefit Americans. I did that for thirty years. I know the business pretty doggone. Well, I was good at it. And all this stuff about affordable housing. It's just all nonsense just absolute nonsense. I mean, you give people money for rent. You can you can get five hundred billion dollars five hundred million dollars. For rent that that goes and plays like Seattle to like eight people you've got to build houses and apartment complexes. And you've got to go to city councils in mandated that they do if you're state government. But it's for you. Thank to happen in Washington state, it might but that's pretty liberal to they want it. They think they can plan that they had to go see the movie I saw yesterday with the fetchy. Mrs Hewitt, Cold War. It's a movie and polish. I know some of you are thinking back to the old polish jokes. Don't I'm from Warren, Ohio. We got a lot of polish jokes there. And they didn't go over well with. The war skis of the world. So this is a love story set in the Cold War, the postwar period in Poland, east, Germany, and in Paris, and in briefly Yugoslavia, and you have to know a little Cold War history to fully appreciate it. But the grimness of a state-controlled economy comes through in every black and white frame sunny. Bunch needs to go, see Cold War. And it's it's remarkable kind of just conveys. I'd forgotten. How bad communism was. Well, Seattle is run by left wingers who aren't communists, but they are central planners. And that's why they have any houses get rid zoning, you'll get houses really get rid of zoning Houston. Did we don't eat zoning? We just don't need zoning. Okay. Biggest story of the day though, Pentagon seek to expand scope and sophistication of US missile defenses. The Trump administration is seeking to expand the scope and sophistication of American missile defense is on a scale not seen since everyone. Pause. President Ronald Reagan's Star Wars the initiative that was a new strategy in the eighties. But President Trump plans to roll out personally on Thursday. The revised version of Star Wars alongside military leaders at the Pentagon known as the missile defense review, the document that Trump will unveil I'm reading from Paul Cezanne's Washington Post story this morning. The document that Trump will unveil marks the first official update of the American missile defense doctrine in nine years. It comes with North Korean or I can give you the short version. A lot of it everywhere. More bring us more missile defense everywhere. Make it good. Make it work deter attacks on America. There's going to be great we needed this. We needed it for a long time when we come back from break. We're having a problem here in the studio it's printer one Dwayne nothing. And so I'm doing this all from memory. It's printer one Dwayne nothing installed a new printer here. I did the work overnight. It was working fine. When I left overnight is actually the afternoon here is working fine. When I left and came back and generalissimo and decided he would tinker with it. So now, it will only print to side double spaced, and that that's printer one Dwayne nothing. And this follows the explosive story yesterday. That perimeter breach had been occurred at the studio that runs directly to Wayne Dwayne open the door and a book burglar was in in and out remember khloe used to establish a perimeter around Jack Bauer. Remember that khloe would say, Jack, we've got a perimeter. There's a gap in the perimeter here. And they were trying to get a permanent khloe would always get jacked into parameter Dwayne used to care about the perimeter. But it's been breached. So the books are flying out the printers are not working. Luckily, the relief factor dot com. What do we call this thing? Those are called Mike flag that Mike flag. If you're watching on hughhewitt dot com. I have a new Mike flag. This was actually supposed to have been installed in two thousand sixteen. And so it's great that we have the relief factor dot com. "So when did you brew Dory? Like how what kind of age is on a now? I don't even know do you remember when this was originally done we at the end of tuber, the finals were thirty himself between your finals, which was I guess beginning of Tober and the end they'd you brew another batches the original the original batch. Okay. Very nice carbonation on it. And I wish we had glass the one thing I noticed here. And I'm sure since we're Homebrew as we all know the longer season. The clay the keg, the brighter gets the clarity of it. So it's funny seeing what it was when I I grew to now. And I'm just like, wow. It's crystal clear for those of you listening to this is the most exciting part for you, we pour beers and drink it. We really have to tell a word picture here. What looks like you guys? You guys won't have this at least not yet drink vision. All right. Listen about paying at pump fear. I think it's the. It's. We need we need talking so little subtle. But it's it's definitely nice. Yeah. It is very nice. It's not it's not at all. With me it smells, just like the cereal. The milk. They'd have left at the. Good part. I think that was a nice choice using the lactose and that to he does have. Very very nice. Good good. I appreciate for somebody years. Thank you. Congratulations. Congratulations. Okay. So we'll we'll move on a little bit from our conversation. We'll come back periodically to the beer, it's everything. But we have Eric here from ferment and Eric has been a guest as the brew jersey president with us before. But we never really talked in detail about the store what you do there. And I noticed she didn't bring any Sourdot today, actually. Thought about that before I came over here. That's a little bit erica's land ahead thing Eric's shit victim to bring salad O'Brien. He didn't bring it. But that's okay. Because we have we have Turkey day roles. I think so as long as those aren't ferment back to that cannot be Vecchio dicey. BSO my wife, and I Mike we we run fermented food and beverage on Hamilton, my background is in brewing beer, so that's kind of from day one. What's been most important to me? But we knew that we want to, you know, appeal to a large amount of people and not everybody's at home brewing beer, making wine. So we kind of came into the idea of let's let's kind of support fermentation in general because there's lots of different culinary and other applications that not everyone realizes I mean, people eat cheese and yogurt. Every day. And that's something that I think take gets for granted. So we sell supplies to make it yourself and also lots of classes, which is which is probably my most fun day when I get to, you know, with of a batch of mozzarella or show people how to make sour dough bread or beer, you know, that kind of stuff, so it's it's become a bit more popular. The more like the probiotics can Bucci Keefer lactoferrin vegetables like kimchi and sauerkraut. But unlike the kind of geek, the love the science behind it, and like the the microorganisms I guess play. So all that kind of stuff is what I kind of driven to. And I always like to talk about how this is really an ancient art, this is food preservation method. Whether it be, you know, beer wine or those different foods like cheese and yogurt and from vegetables kimchi and sauerkraut so just really kind of a cool way as kind of a DIY kind of person that likes to experiment, the kitchen or in the burry, whatever may be it's kind of an outlet for that. So that's kind of what we're geared towards. And. Yeah, enjoy spreading the love. Affirmative action. So that's kind of our our whole thing. We actually just had this past week in with small business Saturday, which is great. We got a lot of local support. Super grateful for that. And as we get to the end of the year here, we've got some some fun classes coming up. We actually the end of December. We'll be doing our beer brewing. What one but our holiday dishes. So I'm probably gonna show up dresses and elf and making a winter warmer or something like that. So looking forward to to that coming at the end of the year..

"Number of leaders from the worlds of business in politics we're in beverly hills california this week for the milken institute global conference david reuben stein the billionaire founder of carlyle group is one of them he spoke with bloomberg's eric shat scar we might as well in private equity because that's what carlisle is known fast for the question i keep asking people here at the milking conference is a simple are you a fire or are you a seller while we do both right now it's been a very good time for the last five or six years to sell things more assets have been sold the last five or six years my property firms that happen this year it might change because i think the prices are down a little bit this year because of a track the financing i think you'll see a fair amount of acquisitions being done why would prices come down and the reason i ask that question is the economy is declining it seems to be beginning to accelerate of course data aren't the former universal on that front and we also have this prospect of tax reform which would include justify corporate tax cut but this inflow of cash from the repatriation of overseas profits i think it's been over in a sense i think there is some sectors where prices down but it's also very important factor going on investors are willing except for lower rates return they were they were a few years ago historically investors an internal research and a twenty percent today i think they're happy to take that interest rates are trying to fifteen percent and therefore that enables people to pay a little bit more and stewart for please their investors that phenomenon going on when you say that some sectors have become overheated over five which ones specifically while i think in some areas you'll see more acquisitions done i think it health care i think healthcare prices went out for a while they're going to recede and i think it's a very attractive area south at twenty percent gdp when i work in the white house many years ago was eight percent gdp increasingly healthcare legislation eventually is changed or whatever we have his changed somewhat i think you'll see more activity that area okay healthcare is one where else energy energy prices are gone down a little bit and now they retract that the people so i think.
