John's got a great invention. I think everybody should on one and I'm not kidding. The right thing and you can get it to get my rocket dot com. How easy is that? Don't give it to Amazon? Because they'll take seventy percent of. I Hate Amazon. Have an issue with them. What do they take? They take seventy percent of anything you give them to sell just to put on their site so they take seventy percent of the prophets. Give them something to sell. And then I said Fuck you. 'cause I don't like them. We'll do it without Amazon than how do you do it on your own independently while that's the thing we with us? I went with a smaller company. And it's just it's harder to find yes but I would like to at least fifty percent. We my product that I'm selling so it's it's frustrating but role definitely. "A bond movie. That's right. He told his story recently. Esquire and Boston said they ended up meeting went up one day from the beach. Minimum at the Four Seasons got seventy three punctual. Some fifteen km around no quinton. He was upstairs to impress. Someone sent over Martinez so I had a Martini. I wait till the thirtieth of where the heck is he. Word comes down to positives so I thought okay. I'll have another Martini Bras and said he was fairly smoker. D- But attempt Tarintino arrived Tarantino Bras. And so both were fairly. He said that Tarantino's pounding the table. Saying you're the Best James Bond I WANNA do. James Bond is very close quarters in the restaurant. I thought please come. We don't tell Quentin Tarantino to calm down. So what did Tarantino Pitch? Brosnan wouldn't reveal but he did say went back to shop and told them but it wasn't meant to be. That'd be a good one to watch. Just imagine Joe Quentin Doing James Bond Movie. How without have been there. Would've been amazing Tarantino. We've been talking about Tarantino Doing Star Trek but Tarintino doing a bond film. That would be great. I think there's a lot of great bomb films but I think there's a lot of really really bad films too so I would love to have seen his take on. What do you think Totally man I just imagine turning on the dialogue is always the strength of his film. Imagine the sequences with Bond Valens and women and God even even the action sequences like you don't necessarily think of teams in action director but kill bill one and to this great action sequences so I I think God if you gave them a two hundred million dollar budgets and go wild I mean God. "Dial M for murder after talking about north by northwest and my old Buddy Zach like that Mark Simon like that's a little more hitchcock for you check it out on X. Tennis Pro Tony Windass. Raimo land wants to his wealthy wife. Margot Grace Kelly murdered so get his hands on her inheritance when he discovers her affair with Mark Halliday. He comes with the perfect plan to kill her. He blackmails an old acquaintance into carrying out the murder. But the carefully orchestrated setup goes awry and Margot stays alive now. Windows frantically scheme to out with the police and avoid having his plot detected one thought here. Roemeling who I love in the lost weekend. If you've never seen the last weekend incredible film it was just al. Pacino's eightieth birthday. My favorite actor and there's a great great story. Alice told about as a kid he love watching the last weekend which is of course adult material. It's about an alcoholic. Who's trying to give up booze? And that's what's called the last week alcoholic writer and Pacino has told the story lots as a kid and then with his grandparents and his mom was raising him. They'd say do this. It used to call them sunny as a kid so they say Sonny Sonny. Do the scene from las weekend and they would do the similar ray. Milan is like having this terrible stretches dying for a drink and he's frantically searching for the missing alcohol and Pacino would do it at his grandparents. His mom would burst out laughing and he was so confused as a six year old. I understand whether laughing like this is a senior. This guy is trying to fight his alcohol and of course he didn't realize the humor the fact. There's this six or eight year old kid mimicking alcoholic. But that's a thought if you've ever seen watch the last weekend dial in for murder. I'll be honest. It's a disappointment to me. It's a lot of show. Don't tell a lot of it takes place in one location. Which is their apartment where Raymond Land Is Talk. As old acquaintance but y wants a murderer's wife. It's all in that one setup and hitchcock doesn't really direct it with the usual style and verve that his films have that's in particular is very good the way he lures his old friend in but especially as the movie goes on and on and of course the murder falls apart particularly the last forty minutes got. I was dying for cod away. Or a setup somewhere else I mean it just felt very stagey to me and certainly hitchcock's when the ultimate greatest directors but like I said it does not have his visual flourishes in this north by northwest. Has some wonderful set pieces like the crop dusting and the mount. Rushmore obviously vertigo. The whole sequence Jimmy Stewart is a tailing the character in Vertigo. Cycle I mean. Obviously this hour seems so much more dialing for murder just felt like a plan and it did not feel the strength of. Hitchcock's work as good as those two actors Raymond and also of Course Grace Kelly Charlotte O'Sullivan Raymond is Great. Is Cold Fish Tony? Wendy's a former tennis bro. Plans to bump off his adulterous wife. Still Grace Kelly is miscast or misdirected as a spouse in question Derwin may also soon raimo lion is sufficiently swamped as the misbegotten genius and hitchcock has moved to Philly. What continues to be for the most part just to stage exactly. That's why issue with it. It's too much of stage play. It wasn't a strong enough film for me. Dial M for murder Joe which I know you've seen I'm only going to give it to police. It's disappointing for me with Hitchcock's hoover. I love this movie. Adnan so much and I don't know what to say I. I really really enjoy this movie. If I can just give a little context yes it was based on a play by a guy named Frederick not that came out in one thousand nine fifty two and Alfred Hitchcock actually originally signed on to do different movie but was wrestling with the script someone The studio got dial M for murder. Hitchcock was quoted as saying that he was coast in slash playing it. Safe with this movie and also just to provide some context this hitchcock's only three D film That he ever made because in the early fifties there is the three D. fad. The studio came to him and said. Hey you're an established thriller director already. Let's marry these two and by the time the film was released. The three D. Fed had kind of died out so they did most of their screenings into D. And I think as a result. This movie doesn't look like other hitchcock movies because he had to use these giant three D. cameras from the nineteen fifty s and maneuvered around the small set. But I really liked the movie. We disagree on dial in for murder so obviously everybody out there checking out it was on Turner. Classic.

"Of investments Eric Robert and this is the weekend Wall Street rap sponsored by Steve all our last week I kind of want to forget it I know a lot of investors do how did the markets close after being down so far and then closed the day up on Friday well it was a historic week in one of the most volatile markets in the weekend markets in history the Dow shed two thousand six hundred seventy nine points or nearly ten point four percent through Friday's close the S. and P. five hundred fell nearly eight point eight percent for the week while the tech heavy nasdaq declined by nearly eight point two percent treasury yields started to normalize after coming down dramatically over the previous week with most longer dated treasuries moved higher over all the yield on the benchmark ten year note advanced eighteen basis points for the week to close at zero point nine eight percent we always say Eric the markets don't like uncertainty but the one thing some medical professionals are are certain about is that we have not hit our peak of coronavirus yet so this is not good news that's right in so if there's one thing that ends uncertainty brings us its volatility and that's what we saw last week Monday saw the Dow down over two thousand points Tuesday it rebounded swinging up to twelve hundred points higher Wednesday and Thursday brought it down thirty eight hundred points only to be followed by a two thousand point advance on Friday the bats volatility I know some of the announcements last week from the fat one point five trillion dollars in liquidity to start buying treasuries across alterations starting with the thirty year bond plus declaring the corona virus an official national emergency with fifty to fifty thousand new coronavirus tests on the way those are positive developments and it's helping clear up or at least mitigate some of the uncertainty in the market everybody listening is not even in the market but they may very well be wondering there were the three temporary circuit breakers that were instead I think it was three at least two last week fifteen minutes why wasn't trading stop longer than fifteen minutes and given how far down the market fell that's just the way that the regulators and the if New York Stock Exchange in particular manage the circuit breaker so typically you go down about five you know a particular percentage there's three different levels you hit the five percentage point drop in you drop are you wait fifteen minutes they'll re open see another circuit breaker triggers it's just enough time for people to catch their bearings and understand where the pricing level was across the broad market so that that's pretty normal course if you drop of more than ten percent in a day I've been been we had additional breakers after that point speaking of regaining our balance if you will next week well I know we have some some data that will be waiting through but we are still looking at the corona virus that's right so this coming week is gonna be pretty busy for economic data we will get a look at consumer health if not on the corona virus itself as far as retail sales are concerned that'll come on Tuesday I will also get beverage industrial production and the number of manufacturing metrics throughout the week the most important thing that Wednesday will get the latest fed announcement followed by press conference from fed chairman Jerome Powell and what is the message to those who are in the market lots of stress you know past the couple of weeks that's right lots of stress and we've been reminding listeners to tread carefully when making changes in this kind of volatility did last week was a great example of why if you sold on Thursday when markets were at their bear market lows then Friday almost all of those losses were reversed and that's the sort of thing that a professional can help you through that the best guidance we can give you is to work with a professional to determine if changes are necessary and implement them very carefully if so that is T. for director of investments Eric Robert Eric thank you I'm Carol Daniel and that's the weekend Wall Street rap on Saint louis' news radio KMOX.

Prison Guards, Serial Bombers, and National Forest Murders

"This is a prison. Guard story Hello beautiful people. Hello let's get into it okay. My Dad he's really. My stepdad. Raised me my biological dad doesn't deserve the title suck at Dennis. You get to write in and you get to say what you want. That's right so my dad was a guard at a maximum security prison in Arkansas for several years during his twenty S. He has many stories about the job. But my favourite has to be the time he was almost murdered by an inmate. While working in general population he became good friends with a lot of the inmates in Gen pop and really enjoyed his job. However there are always some bad apples in person who wrote this under the Philippine. Ain't no one to stir up trouble on one of these. Inmates Really headed out for my dad. For some reason one day say he was the corrections off. That's why one day said inmate walked up behind my dad with a shaking. His hand made from a toothbrush just as he was about to attack. My Dad another inmate saw what was happening. Pulled out his own. Shame shanks for everyone. But no one's brushing. Their teeth came up behind the bad inmate and stabbed him in the throat. Oh my God calling him. Oh My fucking God. My Dad Remembers hearing scuttle behind him when he turned around. He saw the bad inmates body on the ground. The good inmate looked at my dad and said WHO's about to kill you. She's Christ Ama- journalists and naturally peppered my dad with questions including how the hell dealmaker shank out of a toothbrush. But he didn't know much more to the fact that is back with churn and they never found out what the inmates motive was. He was a murderer. Our Young. Let's about it it's jails jails and the place where you start critical and planning out. Good stuff that you're GONNA do. My Dad stayed employed at the prison for a while after that the good inmate ended up getting released on good behaviour not too long after he saved my dad's like well you know. I wonder if that was part of the decision making process. He saved a fucking a corrections officer and probably chances are took care of some of his own business. Amen Ra I mean you. You wouldn't do that entirely just for a corrections officer would you? Maybe not yeah good behavior including murdering people who were going to murder correction soft. Yeah it's all makes me think of is everyone should listen to ear hustle? Because it's a podcast that is made by people who are in prison day. Tell stories all about this stuff and they can speak to it right there. Probably like yeah. There's lots of critical thinking and in prison because you have to alive day your hustle one hundred percent the good. Needless to say we are all very grateful. My Dad had friends on the inside. Stay sexy always make friends in jail. Question Love Kate. Be The kind of corrections officer that people would want to say. That's true that's a good kind of life philosophy okay. If occur how about if a correction for corrections officer can make friends with prison. Inmates than you could make friends with anyone. Anyone in your dorm right. Stay positive. I'm not going to be the subject line of this because it gives away okay. Am FM crew. Great pod don't ever change. Here's my story on January twenty nine. Th One thousand nine hundred eighty eight Eric. Robert Rudolph bombed an abortion clinic in Birmingham Alabama. Roughly six months later my brother and I- ages seven and nine respectively. Were on a mission to make a hot summer day at least slightly different than all the other ones that came before it. Our childhood home in Birmingham. Suburb backed up two miles of woods where we spent most of our free ranch childhood. I saying on this particular day. We decided to take a left where we normally went right and came upon a makeshift camp ground. Oh my a single folding chair. Dozens of empty span. And even more michelob. Ultra bottles were scattered around the burnt-out firepit. Naturally our first instinct was to touch everything. He stomped on this pam tens through the bottles against trees and use the folding chair to reenact some of our favorite. Wwe move right after we had caused all the mayhem. We could and destroyed any chance of evidence collection. We ran home to tell her mom about our day. I'll never forget the FE. She made or the tone of voice as she related discovery to a nine one. One operator as it turns out. Police suspected Rudolph hit out in the woods around Birmingham for a while after the bombing after the police inspected the place they told my parents. It was probably just a local teenagers. Hang out spot but to this day. My mother swears quote. Only a psychopath would eat that much spans. Thank you Eric Eric. Robert Rudolph was finally arrested in two thousand three in North Carolina. Where he'd been hiding in the woods for years during his reign of terror. He bumped Centennial Park during the Nineteen Ninety six Olympics. Other borsch another abortion clinic and a lesbian bar all in Atlanta. After his arrest he explained he was fighting against abortion. End Quote the homosexual agenda. Fuck you real. He's currently serving life without possibility of parole in a supermax prison rate. Stay sexy and if you can't stay out of the forest at least don't disturb a serial bomber. Hang out. Jim Be as my dad made us clean up the scene after the call. Such a dad move. That is such a dad me ended up. Clean it up. We thought God Jim Amazing. That was real. That's so scary. Guys that is. That's like the that's exactly what the eighties were like. Yes destroy fucking Cobo camp that you found yeah could have belonged to a serial killer. Your Dad made you clean it up. You're the one somehow in your Brown quarter Iraq. That's getting in trouble that's right. This is witness murder trial. Hello Georgia and Karen as a longtime true crime fan and more recent listener of your podcasts. I have to share with you that last week. I had one of the most thrilling experiences of my life when was called as a witness in a murder trial. Oh my God I worked for the. Us force service in Dark Mossy sasquatch infested national forests in the eight years. I've worked for the Forest Service. I've learned that people will go to their public lands to do weird things. Yeah they do. I've encountered a cachet of stolen guns a wild west shootout between a real cowboy and some tweezers a hostage situation mysteriously exploding four wheelers and countless people that. I'm pretty sure did something illegal. I just didn't know quite what I was called. As a witness in a trial involving two young men who were very much under the influence of drugs that decided for whatever reason to steal a mini van belonging to one of their stepparents and take a trip into the national forest in the dead of winter. Two Thousand Nineteen during a week of heavy rain while. I'm not sure exactly the motive when the two men stopped at a campsite in the forest one of the men overcame and murdered the other one then set the minivan ablaze. Oh my God. My role as a witness was fairly minor. I was asked to testify when the campsite was or was not occupied that week in order to establish a timeline however it was absolutely thrilling to stand before a judge. Swear IN HELP. Put the murderer behind bars. He was found guilty. After a mere four hours of deliberation. I had to share this with you because it was just so exciting I do however feel very bad for the family of the victim who most certainly did not deserve to die that night in the forest sincerely. Cs Drugs Drugs. Drugs are a bummer Obama. The forest is Obama. Just like the idea of being a minivan high out of your mind. I have an idea. Let's go to a remote part of the forest and then all snap and lose my mind. Poor awful just not cool

"Here yeah depending on how you feel about trade deficits today's news might be good at the ongoing US China trade dispute is putting a dent in the trade deficit the US trade deficit fell seven point six percent to forty seven point two billion in October and that was according to today's release from the commerce department U. S. imports dropped to a sixteen month low balling one point seven percent mostly driven by falling imports of cellphones toys and games of passenger cars imports on Chinese goods fell one point eight billion dollars or around four percent so clearly the trade for having an impact there that is Stiefel director of investments Eric Robert Eric thank you I'm

"Eric Roberts and this is the wall St rap sponsored by Stiefel so Eric we took a little bit of a breather today huh that's right as stocks took a step back from yesterday's record closes investors were spooked by stories regarding US China trade the following sorry I couldn't help us out the Dow slipped a hundred forty point to point five percent while the S. and P. five hundred closed point three percent lower the tech heavy nasdaq ended point one percent lower for the day for the month that put the Dow up point three percent while the S. and P. five hundred game point five percent and the nasdaq picked up point six percent in October downward pressure continued on treasury yields following yesterday's rate cut from the fed the yield on the benchmark ten year treasury note slid eleven basis points to close at one point six eight percent but we did get some candy and our bag I guess from the economic data that came out today we did get a new data from the commerce department says US consumers remain a bright spot in the economy consumer spending rose point two percent last month falling interest rates spurred new spending on larger purchases like automobiles and homes healthcare spending also increased Americans are able to spend more though because they're making more personal incomes rose point three percent in September the savings rate also take up to eight point three percent we got an important update as well on the fed's primary inflation gauge that's called core PC inflation which excludes food and energy came in flak for September according to today's release the twelve month rate of inflation slowed to one point three percent from one point four percent that's well below the fed's target range so with the fed rate cut yesterday another twenty five basis points falling interest rates combined with the stork with low inflation strong consumers and a healthy labor market could signal that the U. S. economy is better position than many headlines would have you believe right now that steeple director of investments Eric Robert thank you very much I'm Brian Kelly that's the wallstreet wrap brought you by cooler signature store by crescent supply on Saint Louis as newsradio Camelot from the KMOX audio archive read.

"Eric Robert time now for the Wall Street route sponsored by steeple good afternoon to you Eric before we get into the stocks congratulations you have a new baby boy that's right thanks Carol I will really happy to welcome baby Charlie into the world today hi mom and baby are doing fine I don't know about you but we do hope. still holding up let's talk about how the markets closed today. good kill stocks closed a bit lower today that breaks a streak of four consecutive sessions of gains the Dallas with thirty eight points or around point one percent while the S. and P. five hundred declined point five percent technology stocks way down to three inches in other sectors that Max looking this fixed income the yield on the ten year treasury continued at job today gaining ground five basis points in closing at one point six nine percent what was the news we got from the labor department on jobs today. yeah we saw new data showing U. S. job openings fell for a second straight month a job openings dropped three percent from a year earlier in July and that's after two percent decline we saw in June well the labor market remains incredibly strong by historical standards the ricin openings could be an indication the companies are being a little more cautious given recent concerns over over slowing global growth no job openings are particularly important indicator right now because it has a big emphasis on fed policy the fed's dual mandate is to maintain full employment and stable prices so softer labor market data like this strengthens the case for additional rate cuts when the fed meets later this month that is T. for director of investments Eric Robert thank you Erik I'm Carol Daniel that's the Wall Street rap.
