At the beginning of the season, you go back to the 2019 season, Wilmer Flores was playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks set career highs with batting average and O P s. That season played 89 games and the Giants looked at that. And they said the D backs really chose their spots for Wilmer Flores. They made sure that he was fresh. They made sure that he was getting the perfect platoon. Matchups. Whatever possible and Wilmer Flores has just been stressed through the summer months, June July, August, has had to play a lot with Evan Longoria out with Chris Bryant dealing with the the nagging injury last week that held him out of the lineup for a few days with Brandon Belt on the shelf. Omar Flores with making more starts at first base with Tommy lost Ella out. Wilmer Flores was playing some second base as well, So they got to a point where Wilmer Flores had just been playing through. You know, hamstring pain for much of the season, and he ultimately ends up with Hamstring strain, and so he's gonna be out for a couple weeks and I bring that up because No, it didn't sit well with Giants fans on Saturday night that Brandon Crawford wasn't in the lineup. The M V P candidate, your best player, not playing against the Dodgers, even against Julio Urias pitcher who he has historically struggled against when the Jazz are going with the bullpen game against areas they didn't have Crawford. The lineup obviously do bond his at bats didn't look good other than the double that he just snuck inside the foul line. And, of course, the error is the moment that everyone will remember. They found a way to rest their players and keep them healthy. And I think they looked at the warmer forest situations. One that may have been avoidable if they were able to get him off his feet more if they didn't have to grind him with Tommy La Stella being down this week with the hamstring issue that has kept him out of the lineup for a few days, so Tough situations all around, and I think that everyone realizes that if the Giants are going to be there at the very end, they're going to need Crawford at his absolute best over the final two weeks of the season, No head to head matchups against L. At the same time, the offense looked ugly, and there's a possibility that continues. Padres win another series with 3-2 win over Mets
"And let's go out to San Diego here with the Padres took two out of three from the New York Mets pretty interesting pretty exciting series here. Things started on Monday night with Chris paddock who is the real deal. This kid is absolutely Jit dynamite. Change up good fastball. Command whole lot of fun to watch him. And you this Padre is mine. Early system that everyone's been talking about for the last two or three years really starting to pay dividends at the big league level. Now, are you've got paddock you've got all you know, they made a great acquisition for Matt strong. They've got Eric lower off Joey Lucchessi I count Cointreau up now as well. Then obviously a lot of position players that are homegrown. They've got a great bullpen. The Padres are a really interesting team going forward here. But that being said when you look at their lineup here throughout the series when you look at the white up for Wednesday and how they closed things out. Nobody in this Padres lineup has not based percentage over three twenty five that's concerning to me because offense comes and goes. And of course, you know, for power production standpoint, the Padres should get better as the weather gets warmer. But the one constant is if you can draw walks you can give yourself opportunities to score runs. The padres. Do not draw a whole lot of walks. They're not a high average team. It does concern me as. Season goes along here as they get some of that bullpen attrition as some of these young arms start to reach, you know, new innings thresholds. What happens with this team in the second half of the season? So I'm going to be watching this closely. I really hope that the Padres play very very well in the months of may and June, and I can take a look at their justed season win total.
