"9 yard shorts, 90 fewer than that. So I'm talking about Fred Kevin green before he called me. Eric, he said, man, let me tell you something. He not gonna do that. I'm telling you, we gonna stop him and say, we gonna stop it. I'll make his job targeted defense. I think Kevin, no problem, man. 'cause I know I can't. You know, he's like I went ahead, he gonna handle two on the off. Okay. Chemical me. He said, man, this must have been something he said it was a losers over here. I'm again. Eric, I'm so kid. He didn't break it right. He said everybody came, keep close. I said, I said, this is no big deal. But was I pulling for him? No, I wouldn't blame him to break my record. I called him after the game. I said, hey, hey Pete, say, man, hey, because I was going to do it. That's a great season. I said, no matter your question, man. I said, don't you have a record? I said, most yours in the game. He said, yeah. I see what it is. I think so. Two 90. I said to me, I should say, you ain't gonna break that record. It still laughed. He said, no, I said exactly. I think got that ought to break later. He said, I know it. So we laughed about it. Yeah, I wouldn't good for you. I actually hate when people lie about it. Like, oh no. So much support. No way. You hope no one. And by the way, if he had broken that, then, then he would have had because I don't know if anybody's breaking that anymore. Now the extra game and all this stuff, which I think is, I don't like what it does to some of the records. Some of the stuff's easy to figure out. But nobody should want. I hate when a guy say like, oh, I hope my record gets broken, 'cause deep down they don't, there's no way. There's no one that's everybody competitive would want their records to be broken. No, you don't want to do it, because they ask me about their last year and this year. I said, look, I don't want to break my record. I say, but if this guy can break this, it's very Henry. I said, one thing is I never want to see a guy who doesn't break a record and get hurt. 'cause I'm a running back. I know how football I know I wrote that sport is. I said, I don't have a record that much, for sure. But do I want to record, no, you want to look, you want to hang all these records as long as you can. I mean, I always say a person that wants to record broke, they don't have a record, doesn't come down to. Yeah, I mean, Henry did get closer just last year. 20. 2027,.

"The same disagreement work. And it just started unraveling. He's got worse. And that was really disappointed because the team is at the organization the front office. But I say this much here. You know, I never stopped playing hard for them. You know, it was times when I was pissed but I would never. I would never slack on that play hard for him. You know, and after a while, it just broke down and you know, that's when they had an interview and one of the guys in the reporters asked me something about John robs. I said, hey, Dan, I was to make more money. Let me let him run 47 gap. And so I'm just really out of unraveling. So it was bad. Unbelievable. I remember, again, just being a kid, like in my NFL Sundays and trying to figure out, you know, and then you'd be whatever literally game or something and a dad would be like, fucking fucking Dickerson. And you know what I mean? It was very, it's a lot like some of the angst that people have towards NBA guys where I don't think everybody should be able to do whatever they want all the time, but the reaction is lessened, right? We've become more desensitized to players asking for doing stuff. But for when it happened to you, the acceptance of how much everybody dumped on you in the media and just, you know, it was bad, man. It was unbelievable. It was terrible. I mean, I said, I was made out to be a bad, bad guy. I mean, I was not a team player player didn't like me. I was an ingrate. I was a malcontent in the thing, but I think that really hurt me the most was that my mother would be dead. She said, that's not true. She's outraged you better than that. She said, she said, I didn't make a step up on you. And I don't like. And I knew, I mean, that's just how the sports writers work. I mean, if somebody wrote something to paper back then, oh, it's gotta be true. They wrote it. They can't be. You can not be true. And players had no, we had no outlet. We had no nobody to go to. That's what, in a sense, Jim gray became a good friend of mine, because anything I would tell Jim, it would write it just like I said. And that was fair. I mean, just like I said, I don't think I did an interview with a guy. And at.

"Didn't want to go to a and L for two reasons. I know it sounded so funny now, but you don't be the kid in 1718 years old. It was different. I didn't like their uniforms. I didn't like that guy could be cheering. And I didn't like the Yale new thing. I wanted to kill me. Think about it. I was 18 years old. I thought it was a chili. And so I just couldn't go ahead and so the guys the guys and overalls that just wasn't going to close. All right, so and I know you've been asked about a million times. You even, it's funny, your words come off as annoyed in your own book about the trans am, which became known as the trans a and M. Because the SMU part of it is like, oh man, these guys have been cashing in mister McKesson. The weird thing about the car is that they basically had what your grandmother pay for it, and that they would reimburse her, which actually, again, correct anything that I have wrong here. That sounds a little dangerous, especially considering you committed sort of a and M but you were like, I don't really want to go there either. So I don't know if grandma got stuck with that Bill or what, but no, no, I don't even stick with the bill. Yeah, I might see my grandmother and my grandfather Houston. That was my real grandparents. And they could afford a car. They always got a new cat like every couple years. That was their thing. She didn't count that. So when the car came about, I won't get their medicine at Leo Johnny. But what is the only Pontiac? And talking about the cardio. And it was all involved. So I went in and came back out. On table sign, they had a couple of calls and my grandmother was there. And I never knew what happened because I never really asked and I asked one of his don't you worry about that. You never got to worry about it. And you ain't getting no trouble for that. So.

"Maryland has some pretty high recruiting rankings for football classes. I was kind of surprised when I looked back at that. All right, but what about the bulls Russell? You're right. Sometimes the SEC doesn't do well in the bulls. What does that mean? Well, let's take a look. And this past season, the SEC went 6 and 8 in bowls, granted that last loss, kind of a big one, title game. Big 12 had a good bowl season 5 and two. We'll get to the second PAC 12 zero and 5. In 2020, the SEC one 72 or excuse me the big 12 foot 5 and O. So good big 12 years back to back. The ACC actually went zero and 5. It could be zero and 6. I don't include Notre-Dame, they don't include the sales of the ACC. So let's not do that. So I'm not going to add that to make it look even worse for the ACC. 2019, the SEC went 8 and two, ACC went four and 7 Big Ten went four and 5 big 12 went one in 5, the PAC 12 went four and three. 2018, SEC down year four, 506 and 6, the best winning percentage of any of the major 5 conferences, the big 12 led the way going four and three. So there's also another thing that seems to happen here is that when the SEC loses a bowl games like I thought that conference was good. Yeah, Texas tech put it on him, man. Beat the shit out of Mississippi state. I don't know what to tell you. But there are other conferences that in all of the recent years have had disastrous disastrous bull seasons and yet those parts of the country point to when Purdue beats Tennessee. In 2017, the SEC went 5 and 6, the Big Ten was awesome that year. They went 7 one, the PAC 12 went one and 8. Now I could go even deeper if I wanted to on the bull records. If I wanted to do that, I could because we can find some nuance in there. The big 12 one 5 and two this year, well, they also had Baylor beat old miss where Matt Carroll gets knocked out of the game and Kansas states pounding their fucking chest because they beat LSU at a wide receiver at quarterback. But I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna do that because we can find holes in all the bowl stuff. But if you look at the collective of the last 5 years for some down SEC bull seasons, you've had every other conference with a disastrous bull season. All right? Here's the other exercise. Do this and be honest with yourself. Run through the power 5 standings. Look at the teams and say how many teams can you get to before you start laughing about them winning a national championship? The ACC Clemson no doubt, Florida state as bad as it's been, you're not going to sit here and say that's incapable of that to happen. And then what? Miami don't you fucking dare. Then who. I'm waiting. Louisville, because they've had a taste, Pittsburgh and wake because they're ranked this year NC state. I don't know. Big 12, I think we can get to four Oklahoma Oklahoma state Baylor. Yeah, I believe Baylor. I guess I will say if you want to include Texas, you can maybe get to 5. Gary Patterson and his prime at TCU. Yeah, not impossible. Big Ten has real ones. Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan state, Michigan state was in a playoff. Penn State, I think, can be in this. And I really do think if things broke the right way for Wisconsin one year, that it's not impossible to think of them winning a national championship, and Iowa does recruit well. They've had good records. They've had good teams. But watching, if I were to do another exercise and say, did you watch Michigan in Iowa? Did you watch George in Alabama? Did you think it looked like the same sport? 'cause I didn't. PAC 12 I'm not even going to bother with it. I'm not going to bother. Hell, the SEC with a and M who was 5th just outside of the playoff two years ago, and I'm going to end up in a playoff. They're going to end up in a playoff at some point. I feel very strong about that. That would be 16s for the SEC. So we know that they have the most traffic. We know they have the best talent coming in. They know they're in the most championships. We know that they pay their coaches the most. They put the most resources into their programs. You know, when I watch it, it just looks better. There is no other version of this where we would argue, oh, that thing, yeah, it's not as good, actually. Like, wait. Did you hear what that guy just said? Yeah, I did, but actually he's wrong about all that. Why is he wrong? Admission rates, then I'll play in the.
Dan Bongino Takes Bo Jackson and Joe Montana Any Day
"To before the whole kneeling fiasco I was a huge NFL fan I like the Raiders and I'd watch the ravens when I was in when I lived in Maryland But if you asked me say you're putting together a team today right And you have these you're omnipotent You have these powers You can pull of the best running back on the best day of his life to put together a team and you can get that guy a new team right now in that condition right So I'm just talking about you're putting together a team of football team and you're given the opportunity to pick a running back from any point in time at his best point in time ever Who do you pick Do you pick Barry Barry Sanders You pick Eric Dickerson Adrian Peterson And my answer is no It's not I pick Bo Jackson Bo Jackson Monday Night Football Seattle Seahawks I've never seen anything like it in my life Never Never seen a guy Why are we bringing this up You're probably asking 'cause Jim yes miss birthday today Or tomorrow How old is he 59 Our bed Bo Jackson could probably still run in the NFL today even with his hip even when he said Peter he was not amazing I have never seen anything like it in my life Now I get it I get mocked a lot for these opinions I said I take Joe Montana over Tom Brady Oh you're crazy but no in 1986 Joe Montana I'll take him any day He's my quarterback Bo Jackson's my running back I'm just saying I'm just throwing that

"About you so I don't know if what the rams did yesterday was their intention they wanted to get to talking about their new uniforms whether you were saying something nice or not here is the pro football hall of Famer and a rams employee Eric Dickerson on the rams new uniforms you know the call of I'm not but you know even if you want to change probably gonna make a little brighter you know the the uniform not bad I just don't like this the strike around the sleeve is not big enough it almost looked like a lightning bolt thank you Charlie uniform I don't like to start down the path I wish it was bigger than the home one man at heart I just feel like they really took away from the rams uniform and and it looks like I'm about to charge a little like a banana to banana what it looks like how much that's the Eric Dickerson have that was courtesy of a M. five seventy Haley said I want these uniforms aren't for us and they're not for Eric Dickerson is your son or daughter going to like that that that's what you're hoping for I guess you already established you have you know a great tradition here that rams uniform is beautiful you know the White with the blue is beautiful now you throw in a little gold there the thing that I don't like about it is you get a little closer to the Chargers and if you're the rams are trying to separate yourself from the Chargers even though you're going to be missed in the same stadium and you know when Polly said Hey you got the new uniforms and then we open them up live on the on the show when I went all right I'm fine with it I get this point there are a lot of uniforms I go I would never wear it but if I showed it to a fifteen year old he might go that's cool I like that and that's what you're trying to sell to that your audience at your fan base that you want to get them to buy merchandise if you're old school you're going to be buying old school merchandise that's why I want to see what the Buccaneers to with the creamsicle bring it back and see what this may be the new generation's gonna go that's either awesome or that's ugly but I remember when they that was almost the sign of ineptitude creamsicle a football team wearing creamsicle and you work they weren't a good team and people didn't like that uniform but if if you were if Tom Brady puts the creamsicle on suddenly we're gonna like creamsicle because he's going to give it some class it and cachet there because you know he's the go but I I watched that with the rams yesterday unfold and you can almost predict it and I went we don't counter what I really think about it but he said I'm okay with it I'm I'm fine with you know it's it's for younger kids jump on and if these teams don't try out things every once in awhile you don't stumble upon a gray uniforms yeah if you're L. A. rams fan old school LA rams fan back in the in the sixties uniforms or white with blue trim and a white big huge horn hello those uniforms are cool but then they moved into the seventies and it was set up on a few quite yellow or gold button it was blue and yellow like the Vince Ferragamo years and everybody loves those and I think a lot of people they think that's the classic ram uniform well they had a morph into those they didn't start day one with those on the opposite side the Chargers they start a powder blue year one I think nineteen sixty they had powder blue and they had the lightning bolts which the Chargers have gone back to which is what everybody likes what the charges are doing I did you know it's one of those where you're young if everything is so much more impactful to you in to see the Chargers in person playing the Cincinnati Bengals and I just remember when they came out on the field I fell in love like I I was like a school boy I do said I fell in love right there I love those colors of those those the Chargers uniforms the lightning bolts everything about it they just look like they were the Bengals were a time where they were stuck in a vacuum you know in nineteen sixty where's the Chargers they were that was great that was front and center stage is beautiful I some phone calls here we're talking about fan noise being pumped in here Joe Buck said yesterday that fox is going to do this with their football games it's a foregone conclusion I think is what Joe said I'm fine with it I don't want it I don't need it I'd rather hear the ambient sound but if that's what fox once great you want to put cardboard cut outs in there great go ahead at this stage I'll take whatever I don't care I'll watch the game in black and white if I have to with it you know those rabbit ears that you had to fix and put aluminum foil on a Jimmy in Chicago Hey Jimmy thank you morning that yeah on that topic I got it you got it have stalled in the games after that or the games you got that I was watching WrestleMania this year what does that add no sound and it was terrible so yeah I'm all for having sound got to do it okay and he could bring up the ESPN idealistic and but I had just one question hello please hold I'm a little your stated that that bird is number seven the head of Duncan Kobe and Shaq that I respect bird I know always done but like you said yesterday it's all the greatest it's about skills and thought about the competence it's all about what you just read the player itself so just your opinion on bird at well I I I don't know what it's based on thank you Jimmy I I don't know who voted I don't know the criteria and and that's what Pauline I try to find out yesterday because you're going to vote on who you saw and there are times when you just put in somebody because if you don't then you're gonna look stupid like people put in Oscar Robertson I I'm gonna guess the people voting on this date on C. Oscar play now they know we average a triple double anyone a title when he was with Milwaukee okay I mean Oscar was one of the great players of all time people didn't see Elgin Baylor play Elgin look if you look at Elgin Baylor's numbers as a six five four like we think Charles Barkley was amazing any was Elgin Baylor didn't win but he was unbelievable nobody saw him play I'm guessing who voted on this do you know his career average now career average Elgin Baylor and I'm gonna guess at best he was six five he averaged twenty seven points twelve rebounds that's pretty good listed at six five nobody saw him play bill Russell nobody saw him play but you know what he accomplished very limited often simpler not a good shooter but the great winner and you put him in there we saw Shaq and Kobe we want Shaq and Kobe to be higher we saw Tim Duncan well Tim Duncan should be higher maybe you saw Larry Bird in person maybe you just see the highlights there that's why it's difficult when you vote on this but ESPN's getting what ESPN wants and that's reaction here and I am front and center guilty as charged I reacted I brought this up to Polly if I said ten or fifteen years from now which player today aside from lebron is in the top ten because to me that's interesting his call I wondered consistent enough good enough to get into the top ten Steph curry would need a second act to get into the top ten but he's very close who else the Greek freak has to win a championship or to at least one he has to win one championship to get in there kowice got to if Kawhi added two more let's say now he's got for now he's not a great regular season player he's won two titles I don't think he's one of the great players of all time I think he's one of the great players of today but not of all time I need consistency there you take time off load management all of those things factor in I look at these guys were playing eighty one eighty two eighty games every single year I expect that out of my great players but Shaq and Kobe ill Kevin Durant has a chance if he wins a title with the Brooklyn nets Kevin Durant I can see is a top ten player of all time now he might get there anyway with just you know sheer numbers and he's got a title but I think if you're gonna go top ten I need more than just one title to be in the top ten just my feeling there if you look at a grades of all time there has to be something that says boy great career now to put in the top ten there has to be something that goes along with that and please do not you know I I I don't want you to misinterpret what I say about bill Russell because if you said I get bill Russell on my team I'm thrilled but you know when I had this argument with Chris Mannix yesterday goes and I said Rick Perry to me is a better player than Russell Westbrook but that's it not not more talented because he goes all Russell Westbrook could killing going one on one how would bill Russell do again shack he wouldn't do well folks if you look at Russell and his size he would not do well that's it all we did well against will chamberlain no the Celtics did well against will travel well once had fifty five rebounds I believe on the Celtics I will still put up good numbers he just didn't win bill Russell won L. you got to put him in the top five I know it sounds blasphemous I don't think Russell was a top ten player I think with his resume those accomplishments you're gonna put him in there but if I'm looking at the talent and is he a top ten player okay I'm putting in there because eleven titles and in if that's the you know the final line of your resume in and with where you're gonna be placed there then he should be number one all the all time right.

"Learn from me in come here looking for trouble I love that when I was a kid I wasn't even a big bear's guide another the Superbowl shuffles one thought it was cool he told me what it was a German man is he the funky QB known as of manner yeah lowkey punky or funky either why either have a head band on the show I love it so much like anything that goes you know viral or become popular is gonna be copy cat songs and a lot of teams try to do their own videos and they were all awful but nothing was as bad as when at the time the LA rams before they moved to Saint Louis and ultimately moved back did ram it now you got a picture this in your mind there's Eric Dickerson standing there and is very tight game pants is Jerry curls dripping all over the place and he's doing pelvic thrusts the rain I like today when you're ready right I was decent wrapping skill I mean that was quick that was some fast quick lyrics there I barely understand when you say I heard blame it that's the you lost me with just ram a bunch of grown **** men wearing tight pants looking at me telling me to ram it update on the official Superbowl shuffle lyrics from the Jim McMahon his version is his lyric is I'm the punky QB known as MacMahon hunky how when I hit the turf I've got no plans got it punky with the P. like punky Brewster were made and funky but it's plenty of punk in addition to some teams doing videos like the San Diego super Chargers had a fun song they used to play that in the stadium but some individual athletes decided to go rogue and this brings us to prime time neon Dion Sanders and he put out a rap album and the first single was must be the money that's primetime bad and then.
Jalen Ramsey's troubled Jaguars tenure ends with blockbuster trade to Rams
"Terms of Jalen Ramsey will talk about this he finally got what he wanted the end result the disgruntled corner headed to the Los Angeles Rams the Jaguars finally relented and Ramsey to the west coast for first round draft picks two of the one in twenty twenty one in two thousand twenty one also a fourth rounder in the two thousand twenty one draft here's a statement for Jaguars executive VP. Tom Coughlin given the situation with Jalen we made this decision based on what we thought is in the best interest of the Jacksonville Jaguars for this season and well into the future we feel the trade that we struck with the rams gives us great value for the next two drafts and remain confident that our team today will compete this season for a division title Jalen Wasser Productive Flair but the time came to move on and we wish him and his family the best in Los A- Angela here's head coach Doug marrone obviously I had a good relationship with him and we were working together to get them healthy on the field and that that's what my focus was so he can get on the field and help us you know win football games and now you know how concentrating on on the players gotta here and and getting our guys focused on on on Cincinnati I think in his league nothing ever really surprises me anymore you know especially from the business side of things I found out like everybody else did last night you know lately point Dave came in and told me Rams reporter Lindsey theory joins us from L. A. and Lindsey listen there's been a lot of coming and going and all Ryder roster changes what's the general reaction to all of the news from the rams this week Wendy for a team that's three and three and in the mid of a three game losing streak certainly renewed buzz and energy at the team facility this morning now I am told the Jalen Ramsey is in route to Los Angeles and he's expected here later this afternoon or the rams do expect that he will pass his physical and I am told that he could be on the field for them as soon as Sunday against the Falcons now this would be viewed as a move where the rams are going all in once again to try to make a repeat super bowl run but I am told the Rams really believe that this is a move for their long-term future keep to leave and Marcus Peters or playing the season on expiring contracts Ramsey has another season left and the rams do intend to sign him to a long term engine now as you mentioned he's not the only new face here at the facility today Kenny Young Austin Corbett also were here they have passed their physicals though remains to be seen if they will be at practice later this afternoon and one more note Wendy Safety John Johnson is headed to injured reserve because of shoulder injury. Lindsey thank you it was a rare blockbuster trade a few weeks now before the trading deadline Ramsey joined a small handful of veteran players traded for multiple first round picks in the last third two years or so Khalil Mack and Jay Cutler garnered big offers from the bears the dolphins move two first rounders for Ricky Williams and it too big halls to get Herschel Walker an Eric Dickerson listen we can go back to the jags but since June Ramsey is moving onto the rams let's start with what he means for the La Rams Right now we'll Wade Phillips now gets a play defense the way he wants to Wakefield's really wants to play in your face on the line of scrimmage with the defensive line pressure and then in your face on the live with men cover corners. He hasn't been able to do that to be honest with you with Marcus Peters Marcus Peters is not not played good man to man coverage needs a better zone corner so now wade having Jalen gets the opportunity to get back to Colin defense the way he wants to do it I'll be really interested to see if they use Jalen the way we want I bill belichick thrill reverse where you put him on the team's best number two receiver and then everybody else gets to get double teams opposing for the opposing offense but it makes their defense significantly best Champ Bailey the dion sanders I mean the great quarters you can do that lock him up and then roll the other side I think you'll see that the other thing that was curious for me was that Tom Coughlin mentioned that Jaguars were better this year and going forward I think maybe either that was miss written or because they're not speak they're not better by getting a great player out of there so I miss quotes tim so expe- Joe Joe Listen you were you were spot on Jalen Ramsey never changed his stance which is what you asserted from the get-go and I would assume just finally came to a point where it just made no sense to have him on a roster when he wasn't going to win this transaction happened yesterday the first thing came to my mind is how often the people I was always talking to that this was going to work out for Jalen Ramsey like there was no fretting I didn't hear any fear and now that this is resolved itself in the way that it has it kind of plays into the tone that I've been hearing all along now I was talking to a source obviously familiar with Jalen Ramsey. They said that he's excited considering this a fresh start to be with the rams I think one of the questions that I had in talking to ram source last night was why not hold onto Marcus Peters to have opposite Jalen Ramsey in terms of making this movie now one thing that the ram source said to me is that it looked like it was clear that less need did not want to pay marcus. Peters beyond this year he's eligible unrestrained the free agency next year and it was better just to rip off quote unquote the band-aid now so then it becomes well who is opposite Jalen Ramsey for this game against the Atlanta Falcons they mentioned that two thousand seventeen when cal Roby Coleman I came to the teen that he did fill in for a keep to Leon outside first and second down and then on Nichols would have him excuse me on third down having a nickel or sometimes have troy hill on the outside and then have an RC in the middle so expect something like that or combination of that against the Falcons either way Julio Jones saw the rams problems in the short turn no because the opposite of the ball is atrocious right now and that's been there issue as far as being a front now what I will say is it does play into them getting better though like we can focus on golfing what this offense has been doing but with the guy like Jalen Ramsey not only does he hell Aaron Donald give him a maybe a half a second more to get to the quarterback he also may be able to steal a possession to for you and this ninety four was out there so air down gets another piece on the back end that can help him hold off quarterbacks for a second for him to get there and that's that's really all I can think about so maybe you

Andrew Luck's Retirement Highlights the NFL's Growing Problem
"Know what it wasn't long ago. I think it was last week when two weeks ago when mclovin said hey how about this poll question is andrew lock more likely to be an slight disappointment or hall of famer and this is when the ankle injury came. I remember it was the calf and then the owner robert say said i think it's an ankle and then i started to think there's more involved in this. There's more to this story. Sorry ben just glynn from the calf to a high ankle. I don't even i still don't know what he has but we know it serious enough that he announced his retirement and everybody's got an opinion on this. His decision to retire was a shock to the system for you know the the entire n._f._l. Nation when people say boy oy this is the most shocking football story we've ever heard i mean like new. No no no no how about we start with o._j. Simpson michael vick aaron hernandez. Those are shocking stories. Andrew looks different cat all right he is. He went back to college to get his degree. He could have left after his junior year. He went back to get his degree in architectural design. I believe he there are guys who are or football players and then there guys who play football most our football players j._j. Watt is a football player. Should he still be playing football. No no not at all but it andrew luck is a guy who is a guy who was good at playing football. I don't know if he's a a football guy and there's a difference in that but that doesn't mean he wasn't good at it or didn't love it. I just think that we're we're so unfamiliar. Oh you're with an athlete who uses logic where you go. What are you doing. Most football players in pauley had the analogy. Let's say you have a rock rock in your shoe. Most football players will continue to play in fact. Stop down on the rock. Where is andrew luck goes. How about. I just take the rock in my shoe. I mean it sounds logical. He just took the rock out of a shoe. Football players will tie the shoe differently like they'll somehow find a way. Hey i'll walk differently who care i'll take madison. Shoot me up. Whatever andrew lucked just said. I'm gonna take the the pebble <music> out. He's removing football from his life. Everybody has an opinion on this and when he started rattle off the list of injuries it makes a lot of sense but it's hard for us to imagine and by the way athletes are just commodities. We've moved on from all of these athletes. We don't care really don't care eric. Dickerson joined us in los angeles when we were out there and here's one of the great running backs of all time any looked great. I said the kind you look like you could give me a couple of carries. He said people don't realize the toll that this takes on goes. I slept in a reclining chair for two years because i had neck and back injuries. Nobody cares about eric dickerson's injuries. Nobody cared about jim. Mcmahon's injury his health. He thought about killing himself. We move on and andrew luck realizes that and yes he got paid paid and the reason for people to be upset and how do you do this to your team. And how do you quit on your team. I understand those emotions. I really do but i have to look at this and say andrew. Luck did what andrew luck thought he needed to do. Is it inexcusable to you know oh colts fans. Yeah i get that. I don't think he's saying boy. Watch what i'm gonna do. I'm going to set up the colts for failure now. I don't think i think that he had to process this. It took a long time. It's something you do you do well. It's your identity and maybe he doesn't want that is his identity and can you get away from this. You know the guys who had all the surgeries. I'm seeing all of this stuff here. Everybody's saying how do you do. I understand all of those emotions. Russians here but andrew lock did what andrew lucked thought he needed to do. If barry sanders was a quarterback and he walked away we would have abba bigger issue with what barry sanders did at age thirty-one calvin johnson at aged thirty. Jim brown age thirty. What are you doing walking away from the sport. Guess you've got a contract extension. There are a lot of questions. I have ranted you luck in this situation. When did you really know and when did you let the cold snow and what is the reason. Is there more surgery down. The road like you went through shoulder. You had and i put some of this on the colts by the way ryan grigson in particular the former g._m. What did i say for years. You have this investment. It's like having this unbelievable engine but then you have a car that's falling apart. You traded for trent richardson. You didn't use any lyman you finally went out and got quinton nelson and what happened. Andrew luck had the best season of his career. He had the fewest sacks. It's not something that takes a whole lot of thought. Hey how about we have a good offensive line. Chances are andrew. Luck might be able to play play a little bit longer but so many injuries and then you start to get down on yourself and you get in your head and you don't wanna go through it and and i look i couldn't play the game. I've told you if you ever watched a game on the sidelines. You never let your kids play. It is violent. It's more violent than you think because when you hear it you can close your eyes on the sidelines just listen. There's no way you go yep. I want to play play. I know we're macho. I know we all wanna play through pain. I did stupid things with my knee and my shoulder waited thirty five the years to get my torn rotator and i'm not even a pro athlete. I have an artificial knee because i was stupid when i played this guys out there and they're taking shots at him. He's getting hit lacerated kidney. He's got shoulder. He's got yeah. I understand all of these injuries. Do we want him out there. Yes because it's about us he. What are you doing to my fantasy team. Hey what you doing to my colds. You're you guys got a chance to. I understand hold loose things but this is something that we don't understand an athlete who says i'm gonna take a logical approach. He's a guy he's got a flip phone. He's got a book club. I mean he he's not your normal guy. Hi and we can't understand this. He's newly married. We can't understand this because all of us would go. I killed a play and make that kind of money and be a starting starting quite yes. This story is about us in how we perceive. This people didn't play wanna tell you they would play or how oh you need to play or. What's wrong with your your soft. You gotta take a step back and andrew luck. Doing i see all of this twitter chatter. Oh this is going to stay with him forever. I is very sanders. A quitter calvin johnson a quitter. Is jim brown a quitter right i. I haven't heard that i'd never heard somebody say. Jim brown's a quitter. Barry sanders quit walked down on the <hes> the lines how can you do. I guess andrew luck is a quitter but i'm guessing will move past this calvin johnson. Is he a quitter or see smart. I don't know i just i saw this reaction this vitriol that andrew luck how dare you do for this. He walked away from his team. I get i get it. He gave up on a sport. He excels at but no matter what people say. I think we can all agree. Andrew luck was outstanding when he did play and wishing luck and no pun intended with his life after football.

This gives us something to root for all the fans back in. "I got the patriots winning. By about a touchdown. I know it's very painful for Mr. Aram Eric Dickerson's a hall of Famer led the NFL in rushing four times. Nineteen eighty three nineteen eighty four nineteen eighty six nineteen eighty eight. He is Mr. ram. It's very very painful for him. I totally understand that. So we'll have Eric Dickerson coming up and Jason McIntyre in Monday's headlines today. He's been kind of a crazy week. There's some NBA stuff obviously going on and the Super Bowl, you know, it. Let's just remember this now one of the reasons I like the patriots in this game. Think there's a lot of reasons to like the Rams they have a great offensive line. They have a great defensive line. It's very formidable. Those kind of teams can fight off Tom Brady get to Tom Brady keep on the sidelines. But in the end, no Todd Gurley to me is it it just it's just too much to overcome. And I also think this season will be the most impressive for New England that they win they've been to eight but this. Ninth season is really absolutely unbelievable that they you know, gronk and Brady went anti Bill. This off season lost free agency elements suspended. They had the Alex Guerrero situation where he got too close to Brady and ballot. Check kicked him off the plane, and it does remind me to a large degree, you know. It reminds me of the greatest band of all time, the Beatles. I've said this earlier where they were the greatest musical dynasty ever. They were absolutely legends. They had their big four Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison had their big four and a patriots have craft Brady Bella check and gronk. But there was a time when at the end of the dynasty Yoko Ono got very close his wife with John Lennon and started teaching him about progressive health, and progressive ideas and similarly, Alex Guerrero, got very. Close with Brady teaching them about health and wellness and progressive thinking and it did not play well ballot. Check didn't like it and kicked him off the plane, but just about the time we were going to bail on the Beatles. And then we thought they were unraveling and just about the time. Now this year we thought the the patriots were unraveling controversies anti Bill Brady ballot. Check.

We celebrate his life today. I welcome back with locking Wiley. Eric Dickerson is back, and we're joined now by FOX NFL analyst, Michael Vick. Let's return to New Orleans or the Rams got a controversial win over the saints in yesterday's NFC championship game. While a lot of the focus has been on the reps missing late pass interference. By the Rams, the saints mate's mistakes of their own surrendering thirteen point lead, the biggest playoff they blown in franchise history. And a couple of plays before the non call Sean Payton had a chance to milk some clock because a pass that fell incomplete. That's what I think. We're all overlooking. The everybody thinks the refs decided to game the refs chose to say that ball was on catchable. We're calling pass fares swallowed their whistle and the helmet to helmet. Sean Payton's decisions though, I down that. Inaccurate pass by drew Brees. Should've never been called run. The ball run the clock all three all three players should have been runs with Kamara and Ingram. Make them use up their timeout. One o'clock kick the field goal game over he went super aggressive, and it blew up in his face. Well, that's what we is. You know, grandma, always said the way you come in to where you're gonna go out, and you super aggressive going in and obviously they wanna Super Bowl by being super aggressive. Onside kick we saw advanced because of what was that a fake punt a SU super aggressive? It's hard to turn valve off in a moments like this. And he went. He went for the throat. He went for the jugular and drew Brees don't wanna enter him into blame conversation. But why not well, this is why because they still have football to play after chomping decision here. And at the breeze went out there and put up his worst home game performance this year. And by by actually is worse. Home playoff game performance ever for drew Brees. So wasn't drew Brees MVP early most of the season candidate out. There would we saw yesterday. What happened was they still had the ball in overtime. They had about I over time. So. I'll know when I play and you made a mistake filled grave, but you have plays to make Julian incomes among to the oh my God almost Testa punt that that got overturned. Did he went out there and tip? "Well, Tom Brady and the patriots are headed back to the Super Bowl. Eric dickerson. Still with us, Eric this is the million dollar question. How impressive was the oldest man yesterday. All right. I got a good credit what credit is due. I mean, the time was great quarterback about a degraded quarterback. I'm not I'm not disputing that. At all. You know? He did what you expect Tom Brady due to do if you give prom Brady two minutes to go down to feel to win the game. I would say about ninety nine point nine percent chance that that's going to happen. And that's what happened yesterday. I mean, even even with the two sections, you know, someone when his father they wanna win this fall. We've kind of trying to watch the game on the plane coming back our win. So was I impressed. I was very impressed. And I'll say this skipping an I know how you feel. I still believe that Bella check and Tom Brady go hand in hand. I still still think Bella check bronze motive then they're not the same guy. They're not the same team without each other. And for sure Tom Brady was vintage Tom Brady. So I I know I know you're going to allow him to play one more game. I'm here retires. Hey, you know, before he says, we realize you're you're going to do your team in because that old ask man quotes going to get back to Brady again before you to get back to I guess, I got some more for you. I will let you got some more for you over here. So. Yes. For staying. He was a virtuoso. He was great winning needed to be giving you think about it. He's go with three touchdowns on final three possessions half or position. He took the meal down at the end of the game early on what Tom Brady Tom Brady is smart enough to know. You know, what they got to impress you guys? Okay. So what I'm not throwing the ball ten yards down the field. So what I record? It's only time. Did he thought about ten yards field fourth quarter and overtime seventeen? So what he's saying now because you want to come to the age I'm gonna throw over the top of your head. He made three mistakes skip and he got away with two of them. They didn't make him. They scored a touchdown. But Eric berry should've picked that ball. He had everybody dropped interception. He ended up the touchdown to Dorset. Which you're talking about two gronk store on the ground, and he overshot wrong and Eric opportunity to picket and he didn't pick it to end up going into touchdown out of that. Deep board to be leisure question. Skip the guy deport as loud, and what we call it. Why he's in the car spans, which means he's out wide. He's about to yards outside the tackle. And he's turned inside. Dude. Your waste is that the ball. He could have been in the patriots player hand is in the ground in the patriots back. Did he look it up at the job troll night want? He's been sacked zero times. He has three quarterback hits. Let us get second. Not pass. The teams zero sacks three hits. Will if you don't hit him. And you let them run the ball. 'cause remember they ran the ball really well against the chargers the random ball really really well against the chiefs will if you let them run the ball hit Tom Brady, you got zero chance what joy Bosa said to John Brady in the fourth quarter quit throwing the ball so fast. I can't get here. It's gone. You fight your behind off to get to him and all sun. It's just gone. And you say, well, what am I doing after a you just get worn out from it because he's going to read it speed read, and he's gonna make such a quick choice and a right choice that it's gonna frustrate you over time not to take anything away from the offensive line because it's been really good..
