"But i love the fact that it's a sherman brother song and again we're going to do it into the sherman brothers. You know more than once as we as we walk through but at going forward in time as long as we're talking about these overarching themes and theme songs for epcot specifically world showcase than we might have even mentioned this during the the future will show but i think it very much ties into specifically world showcase which is part of disney's millennium celebration which as we know nevertheless year last like a year and a half from october nineteen ninety nine till january two thousand one as well as in super the super bowl in two thousand. Do you remember the celebrate. The future hand in hand. Yes now we're getting. We're getting not which also played as part of a tapestry of nations this for years ranked very highly like probably my one of my favorite two or three epcot songs and probably one of my top five. Walt disneyworld songs as well i. I may play that song every almost every time. I drive to epcot really. Yeah it's on my playlist. And i and i am when i'm gone. Epcot a bit of a nerd this way. So when i'm going to a certain parco places music and i had this app. Listen i kind of gear up for it and it's it's almost always on. I love it and i. i don't think i ever. This is the sad part. I don't think ever got to hear it for real in the park myself do they. I missed that.

"But but i think when you're in the space and you realize what that they've done it in a in a way that is I think fitting for that particular pavilion And it and it blends in with the rest of the soundtrack that they're playing. It's not like it's it's not an awkward cut to some music taken directly from A movie It's kind of blended into sound like the rest of the ambient soundtrack. I think it's i actually thought it was really well done when they when they think it was early. Twenty twenty when they introduced it Coco and and. i didn't hear. I didn't hear any of the frozen music i it was reported the frozen also sort of made it And i try to avoid frozen but will the later but but the beauty and the beast. That freaked me out. At first i was like. Oh goodness what are you. what are you doing. But he was actually lovely was really nice. Sounds nice And the music from those movies are great. They're very subtle instrumentals. I mean if you have a problem with yeah enchanted rose having a beauty and the beast theme. You probably also have a problem with the aristocrats music. Subtly being played in france. Bet you know i think. The vast majority of people that has settled head done. Events are not you know. They're not sort of in your face disney right. There are arranged. In a way that they are so beautiful and tasteful that they do very much blend in seamlessly with a lot of the music. That's being performed. Well it's similar like when you're rivera and not to deviate from epcot where you work in. Those french inspired disney film soundtracks through that property. It makes us very well. You don't even notice it half the time. Then you kinda find yourself humming along going. Wait a second. That's ratatouille or wait a second. That's aristocrats and just kind of puts us all smile on your face and you think well done like you. You had that essence of your property your essence of your your your own family as it were but working it in very naturally It's not intrusive if that makes any sense if if disney can work in the ratatouille soundtrack to the wave and make it sound like it fits you know they can do it. Well in france right. I mean come to the bowel you stay for the music. That's you know. And as we're talking about this i i like to think back as many especially epcot enthusiasts are who are very passionate about you know original epcot and they sort of plant that nineteen eighty two flag very very very firmly in the ground. I would almost be curious. What some of the people whose names. We will probably mention more than once. I wonder what they would think about that like. I would love to ask the people who created the original music for epcot what they would think about the introduction of some of these newer songs in the way that they are introduced into the background music. And that actually leads me to go forward. We have to go back a little bit. Because i was thinking one an. It's one of the songs that you guys are. all too young to remember when epcot. I opened in nineteen eighty-two there was the the grand opening ceremony which you may or may not have seen online and there was this huge parade in this this fanfare as deservedly so when when the park opened and there was a parade that was accompanied by a sherman. Brothers song called. There's no place. Like world. Showplace like world showcase and it was played over the years a number of times including during skylight is which will get to when we talk about daytime and nighttime spectaculars and that is one that i have never heard.

"If i say the music of epcot what's the first song that comes to mind. Probably something from future world and as we covered extensively back on show six nine six ten future world has background scores and attraction and so show themes that not only. I think resonate with us but are enjoyed by us beyond just our time in the parks. They are on our playlists and in our ears when we drive run exercise. I'm obviously like reaching and assuming those last two or whether we're just relaxing at home but why which is my favorite word. And i think it's probably because so. Many of these songs were created by disney for disney they are original themes built around the theme using the time-tested recipe of what makes disney music so memorable but for the other half of the world. Showcase much of the music is not only traditional but helps to set the stage and represents the culture of the participating nation. And these aren't songs. I think that we would normally associate with a theme park experience. Either that is like if we're talking about walt disney world But some of my favorite songs. That dizzy songs are found in many of these background. Loops of not just future world. But some of these world showcase pavilions and they always seem to bring a smile to my face as they hear them. Whenever or wherever i am and i said on the intro to the epcot show that that the music is very much a melting pot of so many cultures ideas ideals technology and different flavors. And it's a place that you can hear music that is as diverse as the pavilions and cultures and speaking of diverse. I want to continue our musical journey from future world to world showcase once again with friends who helped kick off this musical odyssey so i'd like to welcome back to the show. Hello it's good to be back with you guys and the one and only zac brown from the one and only the zac brown show. Everybody excited to be here. So i am excited for this. And i'm curious to one because i want to see if hopefully we can beat or not break record long. Our future world discussion was. But i think and i'm curious because we don't talk about this ahead of time how this may differ. Because i think again so many of those future world songs and themes are ones that we can mention by name. Papillon came up again. I think exactly you know if it was a drinking game and papillon was your word. You're in some serious trouble but so much of world showcases different because one. We can't pronounce many of the names the songs they don't necessarily roll off the tongue and they're not one that we might necessarily know by name but we know in terms of how they make us feel and they are there are some pavilions that have themes or some that. Just have background music that we enjoy very quickly. When and they'll round in the same order. When you think of world showcase when you think of world showcase music what is the first song idea pavilion. Thought that comes into your mind for me. I remember when we sat down to do or when was sitting down to prep for the future world. Show i joked that. I've never felt so prepared and so unprepared at the same time for a topic because it was like it was a topic. That's just sort of ingrained in my soul but at the same time i didn't know quite how i was going to articulate it and This show said hold by juice because like the rest of disney right is supposed to sort of insulate you from the rest of the world and i think the unique thing about showcases that it has the opposite job. It's supposed to transport you into the rest of the world. And so while you know so much of the music throughout disneyworld otherwise as supposed to sort of encapsulate you and bring you into this place. You know. the imaginary kind of didn't do their job right right if they did. If that's the result of in world showcase because the point of showcases to make you feel like you're not in central florida. It's supposed to make you feel like you're traveling around the world. As you're walking around world showcase so i don't know if i have a quick good answer to like what song first comes to mind. it i mean i could say something. Easy like golden dream of course. Which is you know sure. We'll talk about that more But now i think it's it's like background stuff. Like le vian rose and like the stuff that green and like that. The the the music that i just associate. Because i'm here. So much with walking around world showcase but at the same time you know like you said in the intro. It's not necessarily music that you're supposed to associate with a theme park. Don't you have a green sleeve. The greens leave story to which will have to get to. Because i remembered crossing the bridge an international gateway with you and i said isn't the screen sleeves using it yet and then you told me a story from your childhood is i am. I am right. I mean who doesn't have a green sleeve story like there's a green sleeve story and i want to don't jump ahead of ourselves but that really from my childhood i whistle. Inslee leaves all the time and it makes my mother crazy. Maybe i was just hoping it was from your childhood. Okay i i mean to answer the question. What's the first song pavilion jumps to mind. It's gotta be mexico and it's got to be the three cobb heroes right like that's got to be no actually. It's not that i think. The the for me world showcase had an anthem and no it can't be eliminations but it had an anthem. It would be basically the soundtrack to impress his france. Of course which. I am super excited about francine far away i know he s- t and wonderful. We'll get there For me it's kind of an unfair answer. I think about the international gateway. It's kind of this. Great little collaboration of everything that you're going to experience it's kind of the coming attractions. You know like lisa said you've got le vian rose and you've got a little bit of music piping in from like the china pavilion and everything just kind of blends and it just sets the overall tone and of prepares you for the pallet. That is in front of you whether it be musical or food you kind of preps you and gets you in the mindset that is world showcase and for me you know if i was to close my eyes and just say world showcases a couple of songs that jumped right to the top but one of them and this is actually a great way for us to begin. I think is. There is a world showcase background loop and being disney enthusiasts that you are. I'm pretty sure. It exists on your iphone or ipod your spotify playlist because this is one of the ones that i think people do have an play when their home or even in their cars or when they're working or walking or just relaxing and while you might not necessarily know the names of the songs if you were to listen through it and serbia following along this. This item list of the music yelich like. Yes inca dance by cousteau. That's my favorite song. Although you wouldn't walk into sam goody's not that there's a sam goodies but go with me here. You wouldn't walk in goodies and say i need incan dance on forty five guys have that. But i love the world showcase loop that you can hear on both entrances to where you could. Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Menu Review

"What we're going to be doing is talking about the two thousand twenty one taste of epcot international flower and garden festival. Talk food from the flower and garden festival. And there's a lover once-favourite four-letter f word. Yes yes lord did find out who tidbit nonfood related. That is pretty exciting. In the in the press release can we start without lauren. Oh i think steve found it. We're gonna have music so they're actually going to have music at the live music at the American pavilion friday through monday evenings is called city beautiful. So it'll be bands that take the stage at the american garden theater and they perform popular songs from yesterday and today. So they're kind of local local bands but That's a good sign. That's a definitely a positive sign for the to the concert. Type things coming back hundred percent super excited about that. I feel so hopeful. Like did you see they. Brought the next phase of that. Big circular thing out for harmonious sharpies got to be just going crazy their permit. Yeah those are permanently moored. "I would like that yeah. I bet they'll have something for saint patrick's day soon. I wonder what flavor goes with saint patrick's day. I honestly have no clue irish. Whiskey would scotch that about rounded up. I mean that's all the booths. Yeah i mean. I think this is an excellent festival to go to because the crowds are typically lower. If you go before the summer the weather should be fairly nice tolerable tolerable just avoid spring break. Really the biggest thing when the crowds are crazy void weekends. I will say just from us being local and going all the time epcot on a weekend at night can be quite overwhelming. There's a lot of its way you would expect. There's a lot of people They're all waiting in line. Throw walking around. it's dark we enjoy going epcot. We you just have to know kind of what you're getting yourself into and if you ever have any questions where open books but i do think there's a lot to do during the day you know. Epcot does later but with so much to look out with all these different topiary he's Do they have any kind of like game like they do with other festivals. Oh i don't know. I'm sure they have different hidden whether it spike or somebody else. I'm sure they have a scavenger hunt. That's what i was gonna say. I mean you could you know. There's just so much to look at. I think that's one of our favorite things about these festivals is just having something new to see anything else you wanna add. I think that's it will be excited to try it so a little bit longer episode apologize we rambled on a little bit but hopefully gave you a good idea of what you would want to try and when you visit for flower garden festival this year or in the future as well. Hopefully this information is still relevant. So thank you so much for listening. We will be back on monday. We are going to be doing a one division. Recap episode soon. What's going on in Melbourne's quarantine hotels?

"So we'll let start today with a chat about melvin quarantine hotel situation because they've had a few cases that have. They're all sort of clustered around this one hotel there year the holiday inn at melbourne airport. It's been several cases that have come from it now. And it's clearly wired the victorian government enough for them to close it down. Move everyone from it. For a deep clean as the premier daniel andrews explained yesterday. They were several cases. I suppose we can refer to them. One was the the authorized officer. The other one was a food and beverage attendant and then the third case was a hotel resident and all of them they think are linked back to the theory that that going and calling it the moment. Cold the nebulizer theory. So that sounds intriguing. And we'll unpack that in a little bit but to save vilnai from speculating for completely unqualified physicians. We brought in an actual expert today. Dr kirsty short. Who's a just from the university of queensland. Welcome kisdi high so kirsty. This theory the nebulizer theories based on this idea that someone in the hotel was using and as in one of those medical devices that can help deliver a medicine to someone that can also create aerosols. Does this add more to our knowledge. About how corona virus does doesn't transmit through the air while look. I think there's been a lot of debate about this throughout the pandemic and other role gist. You know i've never seen this as a black and white issue because you never going to have a virus that is hundred percent aircel and you never going to have a mars. That's hundred percent droplet. You're just going to have in some circumstances it's arizo transmission and in some circumstances it's droplet transmission so we've always sort of suspected in high risk procedures like integration of patients with curved That that could be an aerosol generating procedure. And i suspect probably what's happening in these toe quarantine situations is. We are getting rather unfortunate string or unlucky string of events whereby you on maybe having aerosols generated in the room for whatever reason be nebulizer others. And then what you've got to remember. Is that in facilities way. You where. I work in the laboratory where you work with the actual vars. It's all negative pressure. So that means that when you open daw- the epcot come out and it stays in the room but these hotels onto signed as quarantine facilities. Sorry theoretically what could happen is an individual. There could be lots of ours. Air sliced in the room and individual could open the door. And then somebody who is walking past or the virus could stay in the f. x. amount of time as the was drawn into the corridor with the door being arpan. Sorry these all sound. Like very pedantic risks i guess but when when leukaemia detect every single case of infection they are really really

"Yeah i mean my my number one is like without michelle just outside. I think when people. I heard if you would ask somebody before the show. What are your top three epcot songs. Not a lot of people would have bet that all three of you would have put a probably relatively name song papillon. You all senate. I pull it up on your youtube or wherever you can put up like if you're listening to this show google young right now. When you're done listening let keep listening. Thanks and say we haven't had chokers world shuki succession yet and like you know. Elimination is is my heart and soul and but but in this conversation like you know happy out without question without question is is just being bodyman future role to me And aside from that You know i would soren. Because like i said it's you know it is you know as as iconic as you know broke down for me as the song of disney And even though it's not quite fair 'cause it's technically showcase I will put the instrumental while dream. you know as as my third You know with. Please respect that. You know choice and know that like when i returned stab at the reopening gold dream is what was playing at the gates and instrumental. Until it's very close my heart rate. Now if i just throw this out there for those of you. When you're finished listening to the podcast. I tunes amazon music. Have your music. Look for the cd. Called naroda decade. Do yourself a favor. Look for neurotic decade. It's got discuss all of these songs. We've talked about on. There is an plus all sorts of other fantastic. And you will. You will say yes papillon is. That's that's it. That's my top song to its seconds. I guess i have to answer this as well. Don't i only fair papillon. Let me just say this heading for just an ordinary day. All at once you're on your way to a place that cannot be. No one knows what turns the key. Magic journeys magic journeys. It is that as it is so not how the song this is really hard. This is a really hard question you know and as were talking run. We were talking about this. I said oh. God how did i don't even talk about literally the epcot theme song. Which was we've just begun to dream and that's that entrance plaza music. Which has the handprints of both marty sklar on the voice of jack wagner in. it's that that that stumping sort of rhythmic beat that sort of gets you excited to start your day. I'm struggling between the songs and the scores between the schurbon the sherman's and the moline leans I think one little spark has to be there. I think tomorrow's child has to be there and maybe i'm showing my nostalgic affinity for the parks when they opened. I sort of want to throw the computer song in there. Just for giggles. But it's just come on that. Maybe that that. I can cheat a little bit. Because if i put the epcot entrance music lupin there oh that has all the medley it has but it is. It's sort of a best of the best of the freedom to choose. I am afraid to choose because it has golden dreams and it has ellen's and it got into the later version has horizon look. I would love to put horizons in there to So it is. It's a it's a. It's a super super difficult choice. Because do we base it on the way a song makes you feel. Is it memories of going as a kid with your dad for the first time to epcot center. Is it just because you love the boogie. Woogie bakery boy of the kitchen cabaret mentally. Whatever there's no wrong answer to this. Unless maybe you say the kitchen gary mentally there is no wrong answer. And that's the beauty of it is is that there is so much why we've talked as long as we had just about future world so i we want to know from you. What is your favorite epcot center song or score or give me your top three. You can either call the voicemail. I will play your answer on the air. "So i'm not sure and time will tell in conversations will dictate that there's another park were. The music is as pronounced or as important as epcot. so let's compare and contrast it versus magic which we've talked about already magic kingdom we know and can sing and are so intimately familiar with attraction theme songs whereas background music sort of fades right. And i think it's because the way the park designed magic kingdom. You're you're distances. In between buildings and experiences are relatively short whereas an epcot center they are far more sprawling much longer. Walk from universe of energy to the land pavilion. Then you do anywhere else in magic kingdom right. It's it's because of the size of the park which means that the background music is so much more prevalent to it. Almost feels like it's louder like it's sort of it. Deadens the home of conversation of people. No matter how crowded the park might be. The music is always prevalent. Where i don't necessarily feel that way in magic kingdom when it's crowded you don't hear it as much post covid. When the park's open we were very hyper aware of the music because there was not that of deadening and deafening home of the crowd. But i think music is such a critical part of the epcot experience. And you know. I think that waltz wanted to have his parks right. We'll we'll say sort of you know by comparison magic kingdom here each of the land sort of had a musical identity. Just like the films did and by bringing in people like bob moline and the sherman brothers and baker an exit tennessee on all these other people who had created songs for the films. And then we're able to bring this into epcot center. I think the music and we overuse hyperbole. But it's sort of the music is the heart and soul of this park and while you might not be able to rattle off names of individual tracks. They are ones you know and are incredibly familiar with. There's a level of comfort when you walk into epcot whether you hear papillon and you know what by name or you here. Some other background music. Jason whether be by yanni or somebody else there is something comforting about this park which you know might on. Its face seem a little more cold than others. Because it's it's about technology it's about the future about you know especially on the east side of cut these harsh lines and mathematics and sciences. But it is. I think there's something incredibly warm about it. And part of the reason why i wanted to dig as deep as as we did and tell some of the stories behind the music as it were was to give you a better standing and appreciation of not. Just how the songs came to be. But more importantly the names of the people behind it not to sherman brothers but names. Maybe that you would not know. And then the connection and the purpose and the meaning and the intent of having that music there and the now the next time you go when you think back to your past experience. Think about and and be more. Cognizant of how much the music plays a role consciously or otherwise in your overall epcot experience now to ask you the hardest question of all and you had no idea it was coming. Give me your top three future world songs or scores because again scores are as important to epcot as the songs are whereas i think magic kingdom. It's more about the songs than it is background music or even scores to an attraction. So i'll do reverse because it's not fair that that these the goes i every time and jason has all that time to think so jason zak and lisa top three favorite songs and or scores. You're gonna have to combine the two. Oh i'm sorry. I'm going to say on. The wings of the butterfly has kind of be Has gotta be On there on the list for sure. I think Decided i think one of them has to be a spaceship earth score. And i feel like that's like sophie's choice. Can i just say both the You can well then. I think i think i think it's hard. It's hard as this is hard. Yeah it's hard because I love them. I really do love them. Both and Some going to forget spatial. Birth ritual soren as a score So what am i. Food groups and picking picking Score the it's kinda just pick anything else that i want anything you like. Anything else is gonna steal your top one. We're gonna go with those spark it hard not to. I mean it's hard not to put one little spark in the top three. You have to put it in the top three. It's it mean if you if you could only have one song left if if the choice was okay you can only have one. We're gonna we're gonna change all the music and you can only have one song. That's the one you have to keep jason. Let me just give you long before. The old model t roundabout the turn of the century. Now it's not doing anything for you. Zac brown top three so papillon. I feel like he's just going to be this you know it's it's a sticky. It's at the top you know Soren the original because it's so sweeping and good But for the throwback. I really love new horizons. Just the cynthia lead. Doing the melody is just classic. It's it's up caught leases neuro glasner. So this question and mike. This whole conversation has been so interesting right because it's like i think back to lake hearing the story of an accident. Co wrote stripper asong pirates new cycle. There's too much going to script. There's too much and what was like no no. It's rewrite ability factor it. there's something so like literal and like vacationing about the magic kingdom experience and of local. I think bets highlighted because there are so much that sort of like comforting and local and present about the epcot experience. And that's why. I talk so much about popping by app pens local as sort of my like epitome of being here And like that flows into the music conversation. And so like while when i think about the music at magic kingdom i think about regretting posts and yoho yoho and carol progress like lyrics. You know when. I think about epcot at the opposite of like more subtle background music. That to sort of makes me present quietly in the space And so that's what selectquote obama's conversation premiums question And.

"With an loved it. Christopher columbus than the age of actor but the music. As i'm hearing it. As i think i'm hearing maybe marrying incorrectly. I want to sing it so bad. But i think you have to on the move to go anywhere with ever care. It's so close to singing. Don't i can't jazz hands his feet. Don't i mean people are going to yell at when i say this but i don't i don't like that dot song and maybe the only attraction music in epcot that dislike looks to speaking of memories member. We used to be friends. Remember when jason used to come on the baby the baby. That was the theme song friendship. Fun in of jason. And i see zach again to your point sack you get me like the different musical styles that jazz and that that said keystone competent little kazoo like give me somebody kazoo. So i can wait from the flintstones. No not that. Not the great governor kazoo. It's this they do this out and you could also hear this in the epcot right now. That's that is my favorite part of the epcot entrance music. It's totally different. But to jason's pointed it is not my favor of the songs. I did like the entrance. But it's more orchestral in that spot. Some play devil's advocate and that spot looking around like say get a piece of paper. Remember you like trying to get kazoo sound with a piece of paper. Whatever yes. i know what. I'm giving you for christmas. We only have high class stuff on this show. Folks i am this close to at least like humming. Frey whatever i will. I will do you and everybody else a favor and we will. We will make our way to the opposite side of how close so close. I was really close. And it's funny. Because i didn't think that that was a song i was going to sing. I thought it was going to be this work. That concludes part one of our magical musical tour of epcot center specifically future world as you can tell. There's a lot to cover. And i really want to try and be as comprehensive as possible not just talking about current and former attractions and shows and background music. Really giving you a little bit of insight into the people who helped create it as well as sharing personal stories and anecdotes as well. of course. now. I'd love to hear from you in terms of what is your favorite piece of future world. East music your thoughts about spaceship earth and the entrance loop you can let me know. By calling the voicemail and be heard on the air at four zero seven nine hundred nine three nine one or go to the clubhouse. It's a group on facebook at www dot com slash clubhouse. I'll post this question there and you can share your thoughts your comments and your personal memories. Of course stay tuned. Next week as we head on over to future world west with the imagination pavilion the land pavilion the sees and a little bit of interventions and communicable or and of course the fountain of nations. "But it's also a place. Where names like bob. Moline and richard and robert sherman bruce exit ten. Ceo buddy baker. George wilkins and so many other legendary composers and musicians have left their indelible marks and like every disney park at epcot is meant to be savored with all five senses and in three hundred sixty degrees. And what you hear is as important as what you see smell touch and yes dare i say even taste in fact one may argue that the music of epcot center includes some of the greatest most memorable and impactful works from the masters who created them. And so this week in our continuing series highlighting the music in the magic. We will look at the music of epcot center starting with future world and joining me on this musical journey through the park and the years are some makers of magic in their own ways. Lisa kudrow glasner from the castle. Run dot com and core. Memory candles haley. Thanks for having me this m so so excited for this topic. We'll see if you feel that way when we're done. Jason cap is here from here with the magic and after hours on the facebook. Hello you had me at yanni. You had me at yanni. This is going to be an interesting conversation and rounding out. The court is going to be zac brown and i realized that i need to say not that zac brown. But in my estimation he is z. Visa act brown from the zac brown. Show podcast excited to be here and talking about favorite while disneyworld park and i have to admit. I don't even know who the zac brown is. I'm not lying. That's okay but there's basically all and this is why. I love this topic because really all over the music that is on. My mobile device is from the parks epcot center and the eighties and walt disneyworld in the eighty s including this probably especially epcot center and one of the things that i love about the music from this park really as opposed to any of the other locations in walt disney world really is that there are so many different styles of music Here in the past From impressionism classical to new age electro acoustic to jazz folk songs to world cultural songs. And there's sores scores and songs from modern legends as well as especially now some familiar movie and show tunes and i think that the ubiquitous nature of the music in the parks really helps to define the the spirit and the sensation which embodies the essence of epcot enthusiasm and opportunity. Hope and amazing stories. And i wanted to start you know. What are we enter. I wanted to start in future world. Because i realized there's no way we'll be able to do all of the music in one show without it being a six hour adventure but and which is also why you realize. It's such a daunting task to create an audio tour. Four this park and each of the pavilions because there is so much great music here which is why we're going to divide this into hopefully just two parts we're going to talk about future world and then in the future will come back and talk about world showcase the parades and nighttime spectaculars and my thought like what we did in magic keenum was to go through the entire park almost as we are walking it together Through the past and and through the different pavilions and we'll talk about the theme songs. The background music from the past and present. And you know we'll start wonders. I want to start off by talk a little bit about how we got here. Because there's a little bit of a journey to and through epcot history. But you know when we when i did the The music of magic kingdom. And i was thinking about. Continue on actually zach. You came to me and you said lu. I hate to even ask this but man when you get to epcot center like i totally want to be. And when i talked to lisa and jason there was this additional type of enthusia- what is it for you for each of you You know and i have to do ladies first. So lisa and jason. What is it for you about the music. Overall of epcot center that you think makes this park and the music within it so special suffer me. i think it's the extent to which it's everpresent but in an almost unnoticeable way and you know i do sense as part of what i do and The power of of olfactory things and for me. The music of epcot hits me in the same way. It's the kind of thing that you almost don't know it's there but it almost it evokes emotion to such an extent in epcot in particular and. I don't think i can say that really about any other park. I think jason to read it after our show music during the apart closure and and i when i was prepping for that show. It was very emotional for me. It was almost difficult to listen to some of the music. Because i missed it so much and i think when epcot finally did reopen it was the only part that i cry that when i walked in the front gate and i cried because i heard the music And so you know. And it's funny. Most of the songs that i'm going to talk about most meaningfully during the show. I probably couldn't really hum. Well for you or articulate very well. But when i hear them they affect me in such a powerful way Yeah and that's i mean that's why i had wanted so much to be a part of the show. I would echo what lisa says in that. It is a very ever present thing that you can't necessarily put your finger on. The music of epcot is like the essence of the park it. It's like a. It's a movie scored like a soundtrack as you're walking through and it really just sets this bright uplifting tone and just to kind of very inspiring feeling As you walk around the different lands for for me. It's the music of my life. Like i love this music for so long. That as soon as i could purchase it i purchased it whenever there was an album i would buy. That was like the one thing. I would have to purchase when i was in the parks with a new epcot album. I would buy it. And then i was starting to track down. Once we had songs are and chisholm and things like that those apps that allow you to figure out what that song is playing anytime. There was some music playing in the park. I would find it and buy it on. I tunes if i could and so now. After decades of listening to these songs i forget that they're epcot songs and so i have them on these playlists and then i hear them in the park and it it's like they truly is. It's reflection of my life Sort of like what. they say. Art imitating life or with.

Please make sure you check it out but one thing that we also have done is we've created the ultimate park sound playlist. So as of the park's like literally all the sounds like it's kind of weird how much there is a. I haven't like. I haven't put everything up there yet but at this point i think there's at least two hundred videos and it's just the audience i didn't wanna make it like a copyright things just the audio we needed to record the The hold music for disneyworld. Because when i go four times a year that was part of part of the fun waiting to talk to your disney vacation. Planner you're listening to the epcot center music and it goes off to her. You do darn high own. So it's awesome. So i if you are missing the parks because honestly what. I like what i personally doing. I like to listen to park. Sounds when i'm just doing busy work in my home office that i never leave Because i don't try all these days and I was like you know like some a lot of the playlist that i found on youtube. Were like they were made internationally some videos or not available us here for whatever reason or i felt that i was looking for something very specific so guys like literally every single and this is his current stuff sold to make another playlist of stuff. That's retired Because you know sometimes you like to listen. Although i did add out shit i hit my sometimes i. I did add wishes. I did add just-ended insulin kid. It's not on two hundred videos. Yeah i it's been. It's been a labor of love literally like the background music. That in so actually. I should preface this none of these videos our videos that we've created. They're all from content creators around youtube. The tubes but i was just like okay. Let me look up. The sounds area background for blah blah blah and like literally like hotels stuff like that and like so. Many wonderful people have taken the time to record the audio. Somehow about it. Probably illegally and uploaded..

She also serves on plan Disney formerly the Disney parks moms panel just before the shutdown Wilma spoke with the zest producer Delaney alone about how Disney became a foodie's paradise. We've been holding the interview until now in this conversation Wilma offers advice for eating and drinking your way through Disney without sticker shock. Hi. I'm Wilma Norton and for the last seven years I have been part of the Disney parks moms panel job. That well, we're a group of moms dads Aunts Uncles grandparents who answer questions for Disney guests on the Disney website. So if you have our planning your vacation and you're overwhelmed as a number of people, are you go to Disney Parks moms panel, and submit your question and someone like me who is a longtime Disney fan and someone who goes to the parks a lot will answer your question from our point of view and from our experience. When you say long time to you. Can you count the number of times you've been to Disney owner? We have been season pass holders since our older daughter was four or five months. So something like twenty-three years. We have been annual passholders, but we've been going regularly for twenty-five years. Wow. So you've been through all the phases with little kids. As adults what are some of the most common food related questions you get well they range from my child only eats grilled cheese or cheese pizza long. Is he going to starve while we're at Disney World all the way up to a question? I answered last night was we were coming as a group of adults. We want to eat more exotic food while we're on vacation. What are your recommendations for that and Disney World is renowned for how it caters to every guess need off from the child or adult sometime who only want cheese pizza and plain hamburgers to the folks who want to eat the most exotic food. They can think of while they're on vacation and and everything in between. What is your answer to the first question because we were at Magic Kingdom, but my kids both wanted pizza and we just took off. Checked back and forth trying to find the pizza spot. And actually I think Pizza has gotten to be a little harder to find I think tastes in general has just gotten more exotic and so Disney has accommodated that people want to have Asian flavored noodles when they're on vacation. And so I can tell you the last time I ate a piece of pizza at Magic Kingdom. You can get chicken nuggets almost anywhere and we're Foodies wheel of all varieties, but there is nothing better than a Walt Disney World chicken nugget last weekends. We were at Boma which is the african-influenced buffet off at Animal Kingdom Lodge and both my husband and my daughter in addition to having watermelon rinds salad and all of these boo body and these African influence didja. They both went to the area where you could get mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. So they could have at least one Walt Disney World chicken nugget while we were there. What is it is just the most magical chicken nugget on Earth are really crispy. I think that's it. They're heavily battered in there really crispy. I'm a vegetarian in my mouth is watering Oma right now. Let's jump to the other question. You said you answer the last night the four adults coming by themselves, which that may surprise some people people go to Disney World Without kids. Lots of people go to Disney World Without kids. "And they look. So Old School the fountain the the wasn't found. Yeah. I guess that's the found they replaced and it's now got the old epcot logo like glass are they glass Lagos? Is probably like a real high tech Disney invention of a foreign of glass I'm sure. He's got so much money still even after all. It's just basically diamonds. It looks fantastic and I'm I've been so excited for some of the changes that they've been I was and we talked about this like way back. So you guys can go back and listen but. Some of the changes that they were gonNA make to epcot like I was a little concerned because I didn't want this to become Ip land. We say IP landed means like they're just turning everything into like. Guardians of the galaxy, for example, right? Still I think earnings of the galaxy should've gone to Hollywood studios by. The Ip land because it's exactly that your that's exactly what it is. Yeah I. Agree. I. Hope They Bring Cars Land there one day. I still think the car's ride is better than Florida passage. I'M GONNA piss people off by saying that but I think the cars right at Disneyland is the Best Disney ride in all of Disney all Disney park at least the ones that I've experienced I'm here. I've already con causing controversy in his ten minutes. We wanted to come back with the hard hitting news. Hurt hitting news. So a lot of charging. Right. Recently. I've never been the I read. I've never been on the cars. I can't talk against it, but I just talking A. Passage Clay. I think. Good I was GONNA say I. Bet this. I saw. Group that I'm in Unpopular Opinion Disney edition I think Vita passages is not that great? I was like, okay. All Day lease group immediately. Ono It's amazing and so here's here's I was just GonNa. Say I was. I need to give it a passage. I will say that it's number two in my book. It's absolutely unbelievable. It's absolutely amazing I. Think I was so mad that I had to wait in line for over an hour and a half that I couldn't fully enjoy the ride so I will give it another chance. That's all I want I would like. Art. It's great. It's so nice and it's it's even better at night time. That's the time to write. It is nighttime. It's stunning. Stunning. Alright kids. Let's get started. So Yeah. So there's obviously some been some. Last night was a Disney. was in October of last year unfortunately, Disneyworld and there's clearly a lot of construction going on. So I'm assuming some of that has cleared a little bit from the pictures that I've seen. It's not as bad. at least some of the construction walkways narrowed walkways are. Yeah I guess I could say. Yeah, and so. I mean you're walking in. And a couple of things that I think are still remain the same. So for first thing is like gateway gifts. which is just a random ask gift store also, he can pick up your. Bags that you've sent to the front of the store, which I'm assuming is still Ha-, our front of the front of the park assuming still happening. That, you can pick up at the end of your day and take to the parking lot. And it's also where I bought my. My like really really nice magic band for my annual. Will Own But that's probably the first thing. You'll see gateway gifts his like you know. They're in really. Actually there every now and again because Matt and I really liked to get. The lounge fly stuff in every now and again dino. Bags I. Like. The. On a national for the longest time. Say The duly showed up the day after I got there for my eight days stint that was there and They didn't show any of the other parks until like maybe five of my stint there. So it was their first which was pretty cool. Oh. Well, that's you know what? You're actually right I think that's a really good point talk because a lot of times when I can't find certain particular things that I wanna find like it. Let's use the mouse gears example for up got right which is like the emporium of Epcot. Can Pretty much you in theory can pretty much find everything there. Some things are out there. You can definitely find it at Gateway Gez. So don't tell. Yes it's it's. Kind of. Like the UNSUNG heroes like I'm trying to be the story he has to be I have the things you need. To We can help you. Ronin the last time I wanted to Disneyworld does during the marathon. which was just about a year ago. So, let's talk about the PSG songs of epcot the the emblem of cod, which is spaceship Earth, which should technically been closed by now. Is it. Open. Still. Yet. On the mound. Okay. Yet indefinitely postponed the refurbish. So we don't know when that's GonNa Happen because remember it was supposed to close. To at least two and a half years. Yeah and so I think with. They at least what they've said is that they postponed indefinitely. So we are going to be having the same Judi dench lead. Spaceship Earth that we've had at least for the foreseeable future which I wonder how long it's going to be postponed because again, he said undetonated or indefinitely but like disease missing out on so much money right now because. There's such a drop in admissions and not just because. It's so kind of. Borderline. Annoying to set up your trip. Like, be had postpone our trip to June of next year where ranks of my mom in my family, they'll have actual tickets, the military tickets which they're honoring until the end of next year. If you got on this year, which is great but they're able to go into Disney experience APP and schedule their days whereas that. Can't but I also can't afford to eat right now. So. It's so when it comes closer to will be able to go to.

Gamers Using Flight Simulator to Visit Epstein Island

"Been around for a very, very long time Microsoft's flight simulator and they did this big upgrade and I showed ceiling somebody made a video that looked like soaring Soren from epcot the ride that you go on okay and they flew this plane around the. World to the most elaborate places and you know the wonders of the world and they had this beautiful video. It looks so real. It's unbelievable this new flight simulator game or whatever software if it's not really a game and there's already news stories about there's a phenomenon that is happening within flight simulator, there's one place in particular. The people are flying making videos of themselves and then uploading those videos online any guesses? Would it be Epstein Island Yeah Pedophile Island people have found it in flight simulator and they're flying by the island and making videos and they've just found like that's one of the spots because epsteins been in the news that they've targeted to go make videos of. is so bizarre but if you haven't seen the footage, it is pretty stunning to look at. Pc Yeah I don't think it's on any kind of APPs or anything. It's it's incredible though I used to play at when. If you. If you looked at the graphics now it would be like. Is Kids play child things. I don't know. I don't know if I'd like this. But now I like something they would use it a school to teach you how to fly for a simulator I mean or better. That's. Just, how some of the the terrorists learned way to bring it down see lane

Why Is There a Parthenon in Nashville?

"At first, no one expected the building to last. The Tennessee Centennial Exposition, which was something like a world's fair or Walt Disney world's epcot was held in Nashville in eighteen, ninety seven. It featured a full scale replica of the famous Parthenon from Greece the Plaster Parthenon. This plaster Parthenon which fit in with Nashville's ambition to be the Athens of the South housed an art exhibition over six months one point eight million people visited the exposition small when compared with the twenty, seven million, who turned out for the Chicago world's fair of Eighteen, ninety three, but huge for Nashville which, at the time had a population of one hundred thousand as a nineteen twenty one newspaper put it the general effect of the cream, colored staff structure with the brilliant colors, and the freeze and Gables, so overshadowed all the other buildings that when the exposition was over, the people demanded its preservation, and it became shrine to the residents and visitors of Nashville. But this shrine was not built for the long term by nineteen eighteen. The building had disintegrated so badly that it had to be closed for safety reasons, however, thanks to popular demand. The city decided to rebuild it. Isn't concrete structure in nineteen twenty. The Nashville Parthenon reopened to the public in nineteen thirty one. As with the Greek Parthenon, the columns on the Nashville structure are not completely straight, but have a slight convex curvature called emphasis. The corrects for an optical illusion that makes straight lines appear concave at a distance. The structure is also full friezes carvings, and includes a replica of the famous elgin marbles now known as the Parthenon Marbles. These marble structures were part of the original Parthenon, but were removed by the British earl of. And sold to the British Museum in Eighteen Sixteen, the entire transaction remains a point of dispute between Britain and Greece. And while the original Parthenon is in a ruin, the national version features the complete structure. A builders made educated guesses to fill in the parts. At the time of its reopening in one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, one, the only thing missing from this replica Parthenon was a statue of the Greek Goddess Fina. But after twenty years of small contributions from the public via a donation box at the site plus some private funding, there was enough money to commission a forty two foot. That's thirteen meter statue, the same size as the original. Tennessee sculptor Alan require to eight years to finish the mass of work, which was unveiled in nineteen ninety, and features a spear that was crafted with McDonald's flagpole is the sturdy core for twelve years. The statue stood in plain white gypsum cement, but in two thousand and two it was gilded in real gold, although some people have complained that the gilding makes Gaudy, it's actually more historically accurate. Nashville Parthenon still serves as the city's art. Museum and it's permanent. Collection is home to sixty three paintings of nineteenth and twentieth century American artists donated by Nashville businessman and collector James.

"Olinda by Josie Michelle Davis of Josie. Michele Davis DOT COM. Hiking through the rain forest can be a magical thing. The lush greenery all around the far off sounds of bird. You've only ever seen in a zoo chatting with one another the light ray on your face, and the deep smell of Mossy rocks. Was Not so magical is getting stuck in a downpour under a lean to with a woman named Linda who insists on calling everyone. She's ever met and loudly talking to them about how her arthritis is putting a bit of a damper on her dating life. I don't mind rain for few minutes million and stood together under the lean to watching the rainfall with only the steady beats of drops falling around us. Love the sound of rain, probably because I'm fairly privileged, Weicker, whose only really bad experiences with rain were when it put a bit of a damper on our families day at Epcot and I had to buy children's large sweatpants because my jeans got soaked through seriously, though why does it always rain on Epcot Day I mostly fine rainstorms charming in even calming, and was perfectly happy to stand with. My husband's arms wrapped around me watching the rain until it slowed. And then Linda came I'll standing on the edge of the lean to looking down the hill, when a middle aged woman came towards me, waving frantically and yelling. I found. You is still attempted to hide behind frank, which doesn't work so well since I'm a nearly six foot tall shreve ago, the woman quickly realized that me and my husband were not the date that she had lost on the mountain, but decided it was best to hang out with US under the shelter, anyway. I did what I always do. Awkward social situations an promptly pretended I'm deaf mute and have no way of communicating with other humans so I might as well just face the opposite direction and watch the rain. Some are and hope you don't insist on talking to me. Linda was not hindered by us, not budding up to her, though even though we were thousands of feet up the side of a mountain, she somehow had the teeny tiniest bit of reception on her cell phone, which made it possible for her to voice to text. Leave rambling voicemails and call everyone she's ever met. We heard all about her date that presumably had abandoned her and left her for dead in a Puerto Rican rainforest. We heard about how she was aggressively trying to get a CO worker to spend more time with her. Despite this woman spurring her advances, her words by the way, and we heard her lament about how tough dating is when you have arthritis in your hands. It was awkward to say the least after five minutes that felt more like an hour. We decided to venture into the pouring rain and hike as swiftly as we could down the mountain in fear that Linda might catch up to us, and we would be forced to listen to more phone calls and dictated text messages. I couldn't help but think how incredible it is that you would hike through the rainforest in still be unable to put your phone down and enjoy what's around you, but if I'm totally honest with myself, I do that, too sure. I don't make phone calls unless absolutely necessary. Why can't doctors just text you anyway? And I certainly am not going to voice to text in public when my hands are perfectly free. I mean come on guys. Why even bother texting at that point, but I'm sure way more often than I realize I'm standing somewhere amazing and beautiful. Too Busy scrolling through Instagram to even notice. I'm not someone who thinks technology is evil, quite the opposite in fact I have no desire to get rid of my iphone or live in some remote cabin without Internet I think all of that stuff is awesome. Actually I believe instagram has truly pushed me creatively. I love that I can check out an e book or Audio Book for my library and read it right on my phone. Heck without the Internet and aim I wouldn't have had half my boyfriend's. The real question is am I able to disconnect when real life calls am I able to put down my phone and enjoy the sound of rain in the actual rainforest when his right there in front of me. I really hope so, but maybe Linda was there to remind me to pay attention and not miss out on what's happening. So thanks Linda I really. We'll try to be more present this year, and also we'll try my best to avoid arthritis by whatever means necessary.

Oh Man I'm in for that now it's going to say it seems like how innoventions was but yeah. Yeah Yeah you'll get. You'll have a chance to help edna mode and how rid the world of uninspired style funny super cool. So yeah I mean. There's so much coming. There's so much coming definitely We have some questions and discord favourite pen found at Epcot man. I don't know I always remember my pens from animal kingdom so this isn't necessarily like a pin that we traded but one of my favorite pin purchases at. Epcot was definitely are nightmare before Christmas train framed which was worth every penny and I love it and there was only one left we went to epcot and megs like I'm buying that for you and I was like cool as my birthday. It was awesome favorite pavilion to be in or near to watch fireworks honestly and I always I never get there early enough to get a good honestly is pretty good. We tend to always watch it like on the bridge between France and the UK. I like it though more towards like China. I think I like iron fence. Yeah or like me not China. Maybe more like Norway. Yeah I think like Norway China area as Nice as well Have you ever recreated Korean? Pingers Kiss in front of the fountain. Katie doesn't like boy meets world and Auburn of it so they also didn't. I didn't watch it growing up so I don't have connection to it at all. So now it makes like let's start. Watch lizzy McGuire okay. And it was hilarious. And she's like let's try. Boy meets roles like Ra. And then after a while like Think she can't get on board with like Corey's humor. It's just like overly acted which you know. That was the times I couldn't like I get it but also like I love him. Yeah so Best connecting resort. That's a good question and I kind of feel like I have a tie. K. Between I'M GONNA say yacht and beach because they're the same resort. I love yacht and beach. The pool is absolutely stunning. Smell of the lobby also gave. The lobby has amazing. Smells and the ice cream shop. Why am I beaches? Cream is fantastic. we got at then like once. It's impossible I also Kinda WANNA say Riviera because like that's where we own BBC but I've never stayed there but it looks really beautiful from pictures. I also really like walking around the boardwalk. They've a great little pizza window. The boardwalk personally think is really fun to walk around. But I don't know how much I would love staying there. I feel a little noisy but like the atmosphere of the boardwalk is beautiful and you can still enjoy that atmosphere while staying at yacht and beach because you can just walk out there. Yeah and all the lights on the water so pretty yeah Go to breakfast place in Epcot honestly starbucks. We don't tend to like do heavy breakfasts. It's more like we choose like one day of vacation to like do a big breakfast. Which is new. We used to do a lot of heavy breakfast. We did but one is heavy on your wallet but even APP Breakfast Wise. I'm I mean maybe the France pavilion if go and get a pastry. That's probably a pretty good breakfast option. But the world doesn't even open until eleven. I don't think I've done breakfast up. Cut other than like a pastry from starbucks. I think we've yeah. Usually we do the resort. Where like big believers in like breakfast at the resort hop on a bus go It's not as common for us to get up and go to a park do breakfast not anymore but even at Epcot did that was not one where we did breakfast. Because there's no because we did actually once. Yeah I don't know there's not really like I can't think of a good place to eat breakfast there because world because like I said like world showcase doesn't even open till eleven. So you're like stuck in future world until eleven. We always forget that to relate planner day like already start eating fabulous food at like nine. Am I'll wait. Do you always go to the aquarium. Sadly no and I know we should. I really love the manatees I like to go see the manatees. And I I remember that now by totally forgot about that our last trip. Magli mentioned something about it and I was like why should Massey's enough. I was like where but then I remembered later literally. She felt so strongly about the fact that there weren't manatees in Epcot that she like bet me. Oh my God you did. You're like no. There's not some like is there something? You always get missions space. I will I wrote the green not even the orange. I don't know green is like dozen spin orange spins no. I am not a person that gets nauseous. On rides she doesn't. I cannot ride Michigan Space. Even I could like I could do green I guess but even the green is not comfortable for me to ride. It's just not in my opinion at good ride. How sad is that? I love space anything. Space Schnaut stars planets. I'VE RIDDEN MISSION. Space twice in. That was twice to one time one time and is like Though don't do it again. I can't I can't I would rather Belkin. I think that that might be the only right Disney that I genuinely can say I do not like at all. Yeah don't know if there's another ride where I'm like. I never need to go on that again. I think everything else at any of the four parks. I like enough that I would go on multiple times yell like the only other thing. I'm thinking I don't like any ride. That spins Belykh. I very like when we went to Disneyland I went on the teacups. 'cause like for God's sake Disneyland Zealand rather teacups. But I'd like you to go on it if I'm like we're not gonNA spend them. Yeah right then likely can deal with it but like mission space nope sorry. Oh Man. Favorite memory won't favorite memory. Is that other questions. Yeah okay favorite. Cover memory recover all the stuff. Yeah yeah if I'm being honest it probably is meeting. Peter Brookhart awesome so lake. If anybody doesn't know our good friends the brook hearts. They have a youtube channel. Called the BURKHART project. If you're a fan of Disney. I highly recommend their channel daily blog. They don't I mean obviously right now they're in quarantine everybody else. So they're not going to Disney because Disney's closed but when it's open they go to Disney quite a bit and they also hit off universal. Been to see where all they go like. They like they daily blog. So like you see everything but I worked with Sarah on my first college program in Frontier Land and throughout that entire time that we work together. I don't believe that I ever met Peter. And then when I met him one time we went through. I up But then we reconnected. Because I started watching their youtube channel and like we started chatting again and then we met up the next time we went to Florida. Epcot in Katie. And I consider it like me-meeting 'cause we didn't really hang out a bunch of I hop so like. That was the first time that we actually hung out with both of them. And it was the first time. Katie either I think I think I met Sarah Zero memory of it. Yeah because it was just like. Hey this is this person. This is this person I'm like. Okay Hi you know. Yeah so that was. It was Super Fun and we got to go to the BBC lounge and then going into the DVD lounge for the first time like with our membership card. Though was pretty killer. I was cool. That was I was like. Oh my God I can go in here. Yeah that is probably one of my favorites and just pick a different one.

"epcot" Discussed on Grown Up Kids: A Disney Podcast

"Experimental Prototype Community of tomorrow or today. Because it's here it's true so a little bit of history on Epcot It opened so it was originally called Epcot Center and opened on October. First of nineteen eighty to epcot stands for experimental prototype community tomorrow or today but I love that like what magic kingdom to. They both opened in October October. First and it makes my heart happy because like we can just go celebrate so many things at the beginning of October. You can some anniversaries our anniversary. My birthday the start of Halloween. Yeah good time guess. What is October first of twenty twenty? One Magic Kingdom's fiftieth and I have zero. No I'm so excited you not. We're going to be there. It's going to be crazy but so awesome. So Epcot was a personal vision of Waltz. It was one of his very last ambitions And it was meant to be an actual city so he can actually see the prototype in magic kingdom on the people mover whenever you're going through the space mountain building one of the windows where you kind of slow down is the massive prototype of Epcot in what he envisioned it to be which was at an actual city Nothing Park nozzle mark not eight theme park so it was a place where within this city people would be able to work live and play. It would highlight the best of urban planning new technologies and was to be the highlight of the Florida project. It was going to be built in Florida In Fact Walt only intended to build a Disneyland which came to be the magic kingdom in Florida to help finance up. There's only one park. And that is the Magic Kingdom and its sole purpose was meant to fund epcot city. It's Kinda it's Kinda funny 'cause like it is a city now it is honey. I like not epcot but all those new world disneyworld in general is it's actual own city animal kingdom and I believe animal kingdom lodge are outside of the city They cross over into a different county so fun fact. There's little bit less tax at animal kingdom. Things are tiny teeny bit cheaper there but anyway so if you want but if you're buying something super expensive at Disney and you have the option to buy it an animal kingdom you can save a little bit yep but anyway so. Disneyworld IS IN LAKE VISTA. And it is its own city. So that's cool but anyway after. Walt died the company and Roy. His brother decided against building and managing a city especially without walt being there to guide them because he really was the brain of the entire idea and I don't think that they felt that they could do it. Justice without his brains behind it. Can you imagine what would have become? I kind of like am mixed on how I feel about. Maybe what it would have been had. He still been around versus what it turned into. Because I absolutely adore what it turned into. Yeah for sure But like think of like if Walt Disney created a city and it ran a certain way was like perfect in the certain way like Howling Allen's to New York or la or San Francisco easier. Life would be different. And I mean all over the world like I know that he wanted to use like the people mover as a mode of transportation within the city of Epcot and monorails and just like very modernized technology. it would be awesome. I kind of wonder I wonder how realistic it would be to actually like end up living there you know like what would it cost? Oh there will be a wait list but like would they just kept on expanding and expanding expanding like right. What's the limit? It's just very they. They've created like an uppercut to like another. Righty somewhere else. Yeah I don't know it's interesting. Would they have all been cool like acronyms? The three yeah. Yeah Yeah I don't know So Walter Original Vision for Epcot did push the Walt Disney Company to convince the Florida legislature to create the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Lake Buena Vista. So that is kind of why they did become their own city which was interesting government entities effectively controlled by the Walt Disney Company allowing the company. Great latitude in developing the Walt Disney world resort. So I know that they have a lot of freedom in terms of like their construction and all of that in like the roadways and all of that kind of stuff because they are their own city. IT works. Yeah it saves them a lot of money. It SAVES THEM PROBABLY TAXES. Probably time to like things. Go slow the trying to get permits and stuff approved. They own it so they do it. Which is like honestly ingenious. I wonder if that was affected by animal kingdom though like it not being in. Lake Buena Vista. Did it take longer to build or something? I don't know kind of interesting. So when imaginaire is considered developing epcot a theme park. Some wanted the park to focus on new technology while others wanted to showcase international culture. I kind of wondered where the international culture came from. Because like that was. I don't know I mean I guess like anybody from around the world have come to live it epcot so that could have been the international culture. They like pulled from but I mean I'm glad that it turned into what it did. I Love Epcot Center. I feel like it shouldn't even be called up crowd anymore like I don't want to ever have it be another name but now that I'm like analyzing it it's like It doesn't even really make sense especially with how much they're changing the front which we can get into later but like future world is going to look very different just like they're changing up tomorrow and ally with Magic Kingdom because tomorrow land is kind of outdated. It's not really focused. I love all the weird astronauts. I love tomorrow. I don't think that they need to change I. I also understand them saying like well. It's not really futuristic anymore. So and I feel like that is the case for future world too because like Innoventions and whatnot. Like where all of those weird like virtual reality games and stuff where that you could play kind of became dated. And I think that's why they ended up closing it so anyway. They eventually pushed to push those two plans together. New Technology and international culture and created the HOURGLASS shape combination of future world and world showcase that we know as epcot it was Disney's first theme park not to be a Disneyland like Magic Kingdom Iggy agrees yes. Disney is not added. A new future World Pavilion since building mission. Space in two thousand and three and it hasn't added a world showcase pavilion since Norway in nineteen eighty though it has updated some of the pavilions actually Norway being one of them by renovating the ride and creating frozen ever after dissapeared up beard. We miss you so there's new stuff coming so we have future World East to future World West in the world showcase which includes Mexico Norway China Germany Italy the American adventure Japan Morocco France United Kingdom and Canada. And as we've mentioned I think and I'm sure we'll talk about this a lot and the other two series we've done both of us really didn't like not that we didn't care for up top but it was at the bottom of my list and like now. Epcot for me as a child. I didn't love Epcot. I appreciate Epcot whenever I was younger. I liked figment. And like I liked the world showcase because it was really cool and I loved looking through the shops like even when I was little but it just didn't it didn't scream Disney to me right like it's not it's not like there were a ton of characters walking around like magic kingdom. Whenever I was little and in the fireworks were to be desired. Which I know is a very very con- flick dating opinion to stop. I don't know if it's unpopular but it's definitely like a pain point. Yeah which I mean. Everybody has their favorites. But like I wasn't a fan hey I wasn't a fan of FANTASMA. Cno Am Yep. I mean like I loved the message of illuminations. I just didn't like it was too much. Look at the screen on a Globe and not so much shown me but I understand why people up. The music is amazing. I love the eliminations. Music Bah Bah Bah. Not that it's a thing anymore but illuminations is over our IP so Yeah Anyway Epcot turned into something incredibly different from what it was supposed to be however as an adult and especially since they've kind of turned it into like a festival park we love the fact that so they started these festivals. I don't should probably look that up. But I can they start these festivals like food and wine and festival yards and just these things that developed into like. This is what people do like you go around to. These stands at all of these different. Yes flower garden thinking curly. You go to these stands all around all the world and you try some food from their awesome. Sounds great and then they started incorporating art into it and then they started incorporating art and food and then gorgeous topiary is and it's just like it's so cool. The first food and Wine Festival was nineteen ninety five. The First Flowering Garden Festival was ninety. Four so actually I was GonNa say I actually think? Flower and garden started first because as a child I remember flower and Garden. We went there a couple of times during it because we would usually go during my birthday. Which was in? May and flower garden always would have been going on then But yeah so. They started doing flower and garden and like when they first started. The festivals weren't super long. Like they were maybe a month or so but now like flower and garden goes for maybe like three months food and wine goes they just keep extending and extending it starts. We are okay with. Oh for sure that they started. They began starting it in August. I think and it runs through November literally like juts up right against festival the holidays which goes obviously through the holidays and then right in the end of January festival of the arts starts and that butts right up against flower and garden. So there's really only like a two and a half three month span in the summer where there's no festival going on because who wants to be that food and blazing memeber God. There's no shade anyway. Do WE WANNA talk festivals or we want to talk the land itself honestly. The festivals can be a whole other episode. That's true maybe we will save that for another episode. I think we probably should but I think but so everybody knows what the festivals are in case. You didn't catch all of them. The first festival of the year is festival of the arts. Then it goes right up to festival of food and wine. No Oh my Gosh Festival of the Arts. I flower and Garden Festival is next. There's nothing in the summer and then food and wine starts in the early fall and of summer and then festival the holidays rounds out the year yeah but festivals have turned up into a completely different park for me. I think that honestly I think that I would even enjoy going to epcot now without the festivals. It just like. That's what I love about it. Just changes like the feel of the Park Ching to me. There's always like beautiful art to look at and purchase of course which I spend way too much money on and there's always super yummy delicious beautiful looking food especially for festival of the arts. But anyway if you're foodie you like art. The festivals are totally for you. Yeah and culture like festival. The holidays is like all about culture which is just amazing and holiday tastes and drinks and Yummy nece. I guess we know what our next episode is GonNa be. Yeah okay do we want to go into attractions? Sure the so. Let's look at a map. Yes and we'll kind of start that way. Okay so I mean obviously when you walk into the park or first of all they used to have these cool giant racks before you even like no. You entered right. Yeah you had entered giant rocks like people's little pictures on them. I guess they're moving them. They're not getting rid of them. They're just moving them. I believe to outside the park. Yeah so now that there's all these renovations going on those. Aren't there right now. It's all like not scaffolding but those big tall walls but whatever first thing you see cool new logo. Oh Yeah we have a new logo Am I thinking of the throwback one that was on those teachers that I wanted but definitely too need? That's the new one. Oh I love it Of course the first thing you see what do you think of when you think about the giants Epcot Ball that houses spaceship earth spaceship or is no longer the same? It's closed now..

Iowa caucuses results are in but chaos and confusion reign as no clear winner emerges

"AP has declared officially after so many days of waiting eating That there is no winner. They are unable to declare a winner of Iowa Democratic caucuses because of irregularities in this year's process and the tight emergent between Pete Buddha judge and Bernie Sanders now. This comes after The Democrat National Committee Chair. Tom Perez has already dad. We need to re canvass. We need to go back and count all you know all of the paper Th th the paper trail everything because it's too close to call. There are too many questions we gotta start over Pat What are your thoughts on this tobacco. I think we've already left behind. Have we got New Hampshire coming up in a couple of days as we might as well. Just forget it this year. Yeah I mean nobody's going to really be able to have the bragging rights here because They can both claim victory. Sort of Bernie is already saying he won the initial Vote and Buda judge one the one after that and and it's kind of like I think it was two thousand twelve with Rick Santorum where we found out a week later right that he won when they thought it was. Who Was it Romney or they thought somebody else one yeah and it turned turned out? Sanatorium did and so he never really got the credit for that I mean he never really got any momentum going or anything for that because it was too late this. It's going to be as well. I think we're wins. Josh Pat points out you know. Historically the person who wins does get that momentum going into the New Hampshire voting and no one's going to have that now. How do you see that playing out yet? So need silver at five. Thirty eight had a pretty good column on Tuesday the night after this total crap show unfolded where he basically. We said that. Even if Iowa does get you know what together. It's never going to be too little too late. It's already too late because what happens. Is the boost. You get head. Is You go on national television that night and you're able to declare victory as someone who was very active in the Cruz campaign. Two Thousand Sixteen. I remember Ted's victory speech in Iowa very well and he got a bump out obviously didn't take them all the way but it did help so no candidate is going to be able to claim that this year and I think there are serious questions about the Avocados process going forward. I mean I'm actually longtime defender tender of it. I happen to like the caucus process. I participated in and I to me. It kind of embodies all that Alexis de Tocqueville famously looked at America everyone kind of game together and like like they're doing their civic duty in a very fundamental level. It says it's much more engaging process and the privacy of a ballot box clicking lever so I'm long time defender but having said add that if the Iowa Democratic party can literally not tabulate the votes to give us what the party apparatus needs. I think there are very serious questions but I will going forward. So whoever ends up the winner and perhaps we'll never know. It seems to me quite possible. It will be the last winner but I will caucus what do you think trial in. Good clear even at we don't know winter. The the clear loser was Joe Biden. Who by all accounts came into distance? fourth-place talk about the former vice president of the United States coming in Pretty low in an in a state that he he should have carried or at least come into the top two and we were just talking a little bit earlier that there has never been a nominee of of either party Who has placed below second place in both Iowa and The caucus in the New Hampshire primary. So if Joe Biden doesn't get his act together and at least place in the top two Next week in New Hampshire. There's really no precedent for him to become the the party's nominee. I mean how incredible would that be that. There's been all all this talk about Joe Biden and we could be looking at him dropping out within a week or two. He's done I mean I do a weekly election. Newsletter for the daily wire comes out Thursday's you can describe bribe. LP DUCK LP dot daily wire dot com slash. Get election wire so I said Yeah. I'll talk to folks about. Yeah but I mean I guess I basically said stick a fork in Joe Biden. He's done I don't see it at this moment. He's fourth place in Iowa. He's not going to get any better in New Hampshire that so-called firewall in South Carolina which the the campaigns been touting for months maybe a year on. Then it's already dissipating. He's four or five points. The most recent poll there if he goes fourth-place in Iowa third or fourth New Hampshire. He's probably not GonNa Win Nevada because again it's a caucus state caucus eight does not play well to his campaign apparatus. He's going to go over three in the first three. That firewall Julia Florida already saying he's not he's he doesn't have a very good apparatus in Nevada. He doesn't have have a good organization on the ground there and he's not looking good right now. Now we obviously see judge with a little bit of momentum going into New Hampshire sure You know let's let's pretend for a second that's already played out. Buddha judge gets the gets this boost and suddenly Buddha judge is the person that we're looking got running against trump in the general just UC. That is that going to be a problem for trump. Do you think or do you think trump could handle it partly I I do not. They blew judges a particularly scary general election for trump I actually think Bernie Sanders. Despite being as radical as he is a more formidable generally Bernie Sanders and trump. Have this weird crossover appeal read. They're both kind of burn it. All down anti-establishment counter cultural in their own unique sense figures. I think they actually she probably a appeal to a lot of these similar. kind of rust belt's More antitrade Anti Nafta style voters would adjudge. There's just so much material for trump come to work with their and he's so young he's so inexperienced. I mean a lot of you are these conspiracy theories that he's like a CIA agent. It's kind of sketchy. We don't really know exactly what he was doing. There's just like he's too USA by happy but he's what he's thirty seven years. Old Trump could torture in the debate. I think he's the mediocre mayor of a town one-seventh the size is of your average congressional districts I I mean E it's not serious I was telling somebody from Miami. Yesterday I was making like a reference in terms of like how how big South Bend is compared to like some of the small municipality down there and it's just really ridiculous and I I totally agree with Josh. Not only does does Bernie Sanders. Had I think the strange crossover appeal. I also think he can activate people who otherwise don't vote just bring a lot of people out of the woodwork to show up to vote so I think I think I think president trump is in a very strong position heading into November. But it's going to be very interesting to see what Democrats do you at the convention because it would. There's no clear front runner. I don't think that the powers that be. You're convinced that Buddha judges is strong and the clearly do not like Bernie Sanders so we may. We may be going into broke. Invention Pat. Do you just to play. Devil's advocate Josh. Do you agree with Josh. That Bernie would be formidable candidate against against trump. Because it's because the just put it out there you know. I agree with what you're saying that they kind of have this same anti-establishment feel but it's so hard to vote for for someone like Bernie wants US radical change people's lives are good right now. You know you have the economy that trump touted during the state of the Union. You people are working on It seems so unlikely to me that people would say yeah. Let's change everything. Let's burn down when it's working for the majority of two and especially since Bernie as a socialist list. My hope is that this is still America and we're not quite there yet. Another young people who were there that think socialism might be a great alternative to capitalism. Something I think this shows the greatest difference you can possibly show going into an election a guy who's overseeing a great economy for for four years and who is a hardcore hardcore capitalist and a socialist curmudgeon. WHO's seventy eight years old? I mean I think that's a great economy That that trump could exploit whereas does with Buddha judge who I don't think is that strong either And it seems like you don't go from South Bend Indiana mayor to President of the United States. Although there was a country where can happen. It's here thank you. Don't go from reality. Show host president if that happened but Budi judge has has one other thing going for him and that's identity politics and you've got to be a little bit careful with him because of what you say and trump isn't careful and he could run into trouble I think. Yeah I mean my concern with with with Buddha judges his his youth and I think he could definitely use that to his advantage. But it is as far as Bernie and socialism. I mean like Josh like Josh Nine you as well like we were born in in in an era where like the Cold War is like a distant memory the most people of Dr Generation. Wow we have no recollection of what socialism even is the here it. There's like some scary S. word but they don't exactly know what it means. They don't remember the bread lines in the former Soviet Union or or the Eastern Bloc states countries and and they're not learning it at school either so when you call someone a socialist. They'll think. Oh Yeah it's like the Norway pavilion at Epcot They're completely disconnected from it. So have to be the baby. Maybe boomers who understand that and don't vote for for Bernie Sanders hopefully still will we like the the people have educated on it. Yeah

"Is GONNA fly x wing fighter. Office yeah over over the park mark. Yeah this is like this is wrong and so many different levels wrong a so. What is this job you found the the story? What's this is? This is also on the drive dot com section a section called warzone wars. But all of that having been said Disney at Disney apparently both Anaheim in Orlando has a a An event that they are they built someone one built and is operating A A series and I don't know how many of these things there are But these are are basically drums multi-role drones that are designed And shaped to resemble the x wing fighter from the Star Wars Universe. Yeah aw and apparently there's you know a whole Butler these things. I am a do synchronized Flying and this Kinda anything at night with lights and you know they have lights in the cowing and all that kind of thing And it's a thing now I I did see something somewhere that whatever the show was that Disney was putting on its concluded. Yeah and The X wing fighter slash drone thing. He's have been packed up and have been delivered back to their creator. Something like I'm waiting for them to pop up on Ebay. I think that would be a thing that would be a fun now. I see now I would from. What were you by by one of the souvenir store so so just to show you my dedication to our podcast? All right I actually listened to the video. That's embedded in the middle of this video from as you probably well well no There's just a whole universe of people who do Disney watcher videos and blogs and It's quite a quite a little a cottage industry of people who are following what Disney's up to And this one is what's it called Mickey give us all things. Disney news is the Youtube Channel And so I actually listened to this video although I confess I only made it about halfway through before I couldn't stand anymore anymore. But he describes that very similar to what you just said. Is that this. If these were flown at all they were only flown once in a relation to this big press event that they did recently where they were introducing a new ride. That's part of the Disney the star wars world that's at At Disneyland and But he seemed to think that this could well become a regular thing that they didn't go away. I don't know uh-huh and there's so many questions here it's like so we got Disney flying large drones because these are not small drones. These are like drones the size of a compact car right so drones that can carry five hundred pounds. Yeah all right and so you're GONNA fly them. Low over are crowded amusement park venue. So it's like isn't it against the rules to fly anything over a crowd. There's nothing that gives the rules for Disney. They've got their own T.F. Are Okay Yep. That's sort of where I was going. Here Disney Disney controls. The Horizontal Disney controls the vertical end. Maybe I don't know I I kinda like this. I'm a little resist resentful of how much control control they have over the airspace. What you just alluded to On the other hand I you know and Disney. I was talking to somebody on on some social media twitter or something. Recently we were. We were bemoaning. The fact that that Disney has so messed up copyright in America Trade. You know because they've been desperately. We're trying to protect Mickey and not let me go into the public domain And as a result every copyright is messed up for everything. That's a bad thing but on the other hand Disney does a lot of interesting things in terms of fun entertainment and technology that they've developed in order to do that entertainment so you know I remember. They used used to have. They used to fly ultralights over. The Epcot yawned in the middle of Epcot. So they did a light show when fireworks and sprayed water and stuff like that over that that that pond each evening and for a while they had They actually flew ultralights as part of that that that that show. I'm pretty sure I actually saw was actually present to see the version of the show with the ultra lights and it was kind of cool. They apparently operated off of the legendary Airport there is down in Florida. VERSION ORLANDO And the legendary A. F C or or Disneyworld airport there. That's no longer an airport But I guess that's where they operated these ultralights they've done this in the past This story JEB alludes to them flying dragon over one of his saw. That and I I think now you mentioned it. I remember seeing video of this. Yeah Yeah but that's an interesting thing and And so now they've got a drone a multi copter x wing. That they're going to fly I over what's this. What's this star wars world? It's got a name now planking. It's call I'm sure it's in here someplace galaxy's edge galaxy and but And here we are given Disney publicity. That they neither need nor paid for. Yeah and I'm still in the I. Lean towards Disney is evil side of that coin. So okay all right. Well that's now but this this are is Orlando. They don't have a t of are over Anaheim. Do they think so. No they don't have the same kind of is it the airspace over the Anaheim facilities completely different. I don't know well. Of course it is. I mean it's like within its nearby if not within the The John. John Wayne Charlie I would you know. I don't think it's in it but it's close to it. Yeah that's a whole different kind of airspace. The L. A. Basin as opposed to Orlando. So so. Yeah they're flying these things over again you know. Maybe maybe we'll see him on on open open-market one of these days x wing

I did not see a single one usually don't because I manage the social media so anyway the question albeit an odd one was where would you you like your ashes scattered in the parks. I forgot about that because we talked about Shawshank them. Exactly which is I think one of your finest moments thank you very much. We had many many responses on instagram and facebook. Elena Pau thirty six said I would want my ashes scattered at splash mountain wherever when things zippy Duda all right just imagine someone tossing the ashes Zip Pitty Duda ashes SIP thirty eight ashes in between no okay that was the visual living equivalent of throwing the all right you know because people can't see us when you never gone megs the law said by the Lego Dragon in Disney springs brings in the water is running the one perfect. TJ said the rose and crown pub no doubt and said actually I asked him. I said what's what's the correlation like. What's your attachment. He's like there's alcohol there. There's a whole lot of place and I sprinkle me in Kava Delta Akilah like we love going there in the corner. Yeah actually the rose and crown the upcoming plans for England are kind of exciting here so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to be sprinkled there but however ever you might get blown around quite a bit. Krista see said I feel like the easiest place would be at the safari at Animal Kingdom. Just hang a leg out and Shawshank it like Bashar Oleg Job. Over Money Jal Mbo my God that's that's perfect and then jess our top of the Tower of terror which I can only imagine someone as the doors open just flinging their ashes to a Nova. Oh it becomes a I'm in everybody's lungs. It's right. We had a really awesome review this week on on Apple podcasts. We just have to read. It was just really really special. This is from Courtney Rose Ninety five and she said this podcast is truly magical. Our family is planning Disney vacation and this podcast has the best tips on restaurants fast passes and all the new things coming to Disneyworld the banter between Patrick and Kate is hilarious in so-so entertaining meaning they have such a passionate and love for Disney that shines through in every episode this podcast gives me the same joy and happiness that US Disney lovers get from the parks. Keep up the great great work that was from Courtney rose isn't it isn't that the some say love it is it is listening. She said that doesn't work. She is list knew who wrote a kick in review. Tom Proud of usually I'm the rhyming one. I didn't rhyme at all well. You're pros was good logo. Your rhyme scheme was excellent low. Haiku but excellent went as always if you'd like to send us your questions or thoughts about the show or episode you can call us at eight one four three one four nine four eight two and like. I said Ed leave us. You're lingering questions about anything. We talk about or your comments on any kind of news clip. You might see on your own that we don't get. We always enjoy hearing about that. Let's head to the parks epcot was on everybody's minds this week and for good reason the Epcot experience opened on the park's birthday so magic kingdom had a birthday this year this week as did Epcot so the epcot experience is located in the Odyssey Events Pavilion in future world near Test Track and the Mexico pavilion not walled off as as far as we know no not anymore so much as walled off you can really we see it This is the building that if you look at from the world showcase you go. What country is that. It's not a country. It's the it's the Odyssey building which has been used over the years for special events love of your accent when you say add a seatbelt. I really hate you right now. So the epcot experience is created by Walt Disney imagineering and it's an in depth look that is what is coming to Kat in the future and what is currently underway oh so is that the place where they have the three sixty yes so we watched a wonderful blog by one of our of of log by one of our favorite. Disney bloggers which is diy newscast no thank you that's Jack over at D. N. Y. Newscast Great Great Youtube Page we highly recommend highly. He gives a very in depth look into this experience without spoiling anything and also gives a follow up link in case. Yes you do want to view this experience because what it is. It's a three hundred sixty degree room. It's almost circular and there's in the middle. There is a a big plot lot of land that can have the special projections displayed on it which will show you what is coming to epcot what's already been started and what we can look forward to in the future the next couple years. There's a continuous. It's about a twenty minute film. That's what Jack said so. If you are there you can you can come at any time. It's coming good. There's no come in the middle of it and have to sit and watch all the way through and get back to where you were. We caught a little glimpse of it and the projection mapping technology looks for non about some of those rides where they have the faces projected imagine that show or the castle show imagine that being honor map but better yeah looks like it looks like everything could change it was I was they were saying that. It's the exact same technology that's going to be in the Minnie and Mickey ah what's it called the escape railway of incher guy liner extravagant yes besides his exact same technology. That's going. It'd be done that right yeah. It looks so so after that right opens at some point someone's gotTa. Post a full lights on Mickey and Minnie. It's just a bunch of white walls man. It's gotta be creepy. I also want to point out that that the Odyssey building also apparently houses specialty drinks for the epcot food and wine fest that is still L. available on the outskirts of the building and then once you enter the interior long wine infest this year success Z. Actually go we we did not think about this when we were planning our very very quick. October trip we'll be able to go there on the nineteenth and be able to get some kiosk food server me. Marie my big bowler hats right harkening back to episode one yeah if you see as their and I'm wearing my earful podcast bowler. Please say hello yeah. We do need to get like we have cards t shirts pins or sweatshirts. It's GonNa time yeah. It can get a little chilly at night but it's good any kind of publicity is good publicity so maybe we could make those really fun things that you stuck on the back of your phone that carrier credit cards that have our logo on it and then we'd have to like walk around with their phones out well. We offer them to people. We know L. where our podcast is do you. I still think we need a t shirt with a bowler on somebody out there to design it for me a teacher at Exeter loyalest fans. That's over advertising for loyal fans this to get the you know. Elena Pau Lives in Orlando Florida Florida because I listen to me if I was in the park and I saw somebody wearing a Bolo teeshirt. That's true trees. You're not sure the Bolo Bolo cap on it. I'd be very cute. Maybe we're going to run. Maybe we should try to find the most the most awkward piece of clothing to wear and then marketed that way. That's a whole different podcast. Let's let's not go off the rails. Inexperience and shows have run. In case your tastes are a little bit more expensive and whose artistic right you can now buy very special set of mini ears that are designed by Heidi Klum for a mere six hundred dollars and what do these years do well. They have over one hundred fifty swarovski crystals stuttered in that 'cause I'm still a shocked at the price tag and they weigh a half a pound each crystal or take. The hat in general weighs a half my guy. Could you imagine half a pound so be seventy five pounds pounds for a hat. My God yeah in unrelated news neck injuries have increased in the parks.
