Brees' clutch precision lifts Saints past Panthers, 27-24
"Drew Brees passed for two hundred eighty seven yards and two touchdowns and the saints twenty seven twenty four victory against the Panthers Brees completed twenty nine of thirty six passes to eight different targets despite not having receivers Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in the lineup you got to sit there and look at the call sheet you're looking you're the first numbers and figure out how your piece it all together at the end they put them in the best position to succeed after's kicker Joey Slye attempted a potential game tying sixty five yard field goal on fourth in nineteen but the ball fell just short of the cross bar if his quarterback teddy Bridgewater was twenty three of twenty eight for two hundred fifty four yards and two touchdowns including a seventy four yarder to DJ Moore New Orleans improved a foreign to entrap Carolina two three and four I'm the ferry
Bill Barnwell on NFL Undefeated Teams + Monday Preview
"Bill Barnwell. It is late Sunday night almost midnight, which means it's time for you to make me smarter about the NFL. I'm going to try my best Baba Bill. Barnwell is a senior writer for ESPN host of the Bill Barnwell show and he's procrastinating his deadline to talk to me. So we just watched the saints and the packers on Sunday night football and the saints lost without. Their Star Receiver Michael Thomas. But that did not stop us from getting a whole bunch of touchdowns drew brees and Aaron Rodgers. Each threw for three a piece. But in the end, the packers won the saints lost and they've now lost New Orleans says back to back games for the first time since two thousand, seventeen bill I know you are writing a new piece about drew brees coming off of the two year deal that drew brees signed in the offseason and what we've now seen from him through these first three weeks what did you see in Sunday night's games he regressing improving? What do we have with bruise right now? Okay. So public drew brees definitely improving this is a better performance from him. Me brees was downright bad on Monday night in week two against the raiders before we got to garbage time and breeze didn't do deep very frequently until this game was out of hand but I think the concerns i. have read or have heard about arm strength or how deep is passes typically go they don't really get how reason this offense actually worked. Breezes sort of like. A singles hitter in baseball like Tony Gwynn lagging time where a post player with no range in basketball he's not going to suddenly start throwing deeply. He's Patrick Mahomes at forty one years old breeze has succeeded. Over the last three years while throwing the shortest paths in the League because he's posted the three best single season completion. In NFL history. Now. The good news for the Saints Good News For Saints Fans is that brees was much more accurate on Sunday night it was twenty, nine, thirty, six for two, hundred, eighty, eight yards a lot of that West Alvin Kamara who did a lot of the work but still going to end up thirty six is still better than where brees was. The bad news was just about everything else. The Saints Lost Starters Jared Cook and Andres P to injuries while devante. Adams List Aaron Rodgers threw for two hundred, eighty, three yards and those three touchdowns you mentioned. The saints focused on adding veterans with nicknames Emmanuel Sanders and balcony. Jenkins this off season. But. Sanders hasn't been able to stand out with ankle Thomas Injured and Jenkins has been picked apart in pass coverage including Mercedes Lewis touchdown on Sunday night the attorney for more accurate breeze that was a bright spot. But if the saints continue to struggle with injuries and get disappointing play from their stars, the Orleans is going to need this version of free stick around to have a chance to compete in the NFC. So the packers emerged three no, and that's where a lot of focus the rest of our conversation here on the teams that are now undefeated through three weeks of the NFL season. So bill, let's push deeper into the NFC here because the Chicago Bears Be Chicago bears are somehow three you know and they do it by beating the Falcons thirty to twenty six Chicago was trailing by sixteen head coach. Matt Nagy Decides to pull quarterback Mitch Trubisky in favor of the veteran nick foles mister big bleep nick himself who goes on to throw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. So I have a two part question for you now. Why are the Falcons physically incapable of holding onto a fourth quarter lead and? Secondly, where does this leave the whole quarterback situation in Chicago? Let me answer the second part of that question I. The bears are going to flail by the seat of their pants for the rest of the season I would assume that nick foles is going to start until he struggles and the bears trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter a couple weeks from now, I would point Mitch Trubisky will come in and lead them to victory and the cycle will start the new. Unfortunately I don't have one simple takeaway for our poor friends and Atlantic. Is Different From what we saw in week to as. Much. As the defense was disappointing in this game, the offense really deserves a fair chunk of the blame for what happened scored a touchdown on the opening drive third quarter, and then basically tried to sit on their lead, Matt Ryan and company REPA- total three first downs on their next six is before the bears took the lead back and the only scored one field goal over that time after bisky intercession back running back Brian L. dropped an easy third down conversion which would have put the Falcons and field goal range. Then on the next drive kicker, young coup miss a forty eight yard field goal attempt. I know. I mean let's be fair. The Falcons defense was very bad. I'm not sure the Falcons are gonNA make any drastic changes on Monday morning, but Arthur blank can feel great about seeing this happen. On his seventy eighth birthday and. I believe I'm not mistaken not the only person celebrating birthday on Sunday. Having Birthday Pamela. Day Pablo. Yeah this is a hard way to discover that you share a birthday with the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Bill, which feels like you just cast a pox upon my house.
Is Drew Brees no longer the elite quarterback of the past
"Think it's time to sound the alarms on drew brees who was uncharacteristically erratic with his accuracy yesterday on top of of the week one game where he couldn't move the ball it's definitely too bad back to back weeks for drew brees. But I think this week them not having Michael Thomas out there I mean Alvin Kamara he's still look good but obviously, they need more than just him. He can't just be the Alvin Kamara show out there. So drew brees I. Think. Yeah. You have to be a little concerned at this that we're not seeing what we should be seeing out of him because Derek Carr put up the numbers that drew brees should have last night. It's another game where you know you look at breeze his average depth target is just over five yards, the vast majority, and this was obviously true with Michael Thomas to the vast majority of yardage that he's gaining is coming after the catch it's a different type of quarterback that they have to play around. Like Luke are my son, it became a saints fan a year ago, and my concern was like, well, you kind of jumped on this one a little late in the game had you been born earlier that might have been more profitable for you but he asked last night like is drew brees look so sad and I thought like like on a micro right like on a micro level it's because you're losing to the raiders on Monday night football and you're frustrated but like on a Matra level like the something in the is a breeze. Through me down the stretch like you can kind of get in the is well, you've seen this with Peyton manning to like in that last year and. First of all small sample size. Let's see what happens the true breeze but there are concerning distressing signals out there were seen it on the field and I thought that there was a look in the eyes of drew brees last night that sort of new something's changed here. It's not the end, but something's changed and heap maybe shares a little bit of the concern that we share because he had. You did and he. Does face. It makes me think about retirement. Remember he almost consider retirement. And players always say like once you think about it you're you're already you're already there. What did you see colleen last night? No. The same thing that's US did there was one shot in particular of through breezes face that he just you could see it was written all over his face. It was just pure dejection I. Guess to like He. He looked so sad in the moment time for that Viking funeral just put him on the wooden rafts now and push them out into the Gulf of Mexico start firing those arrows Taylor swift. They've got Winston. I Love Patras tweet where he said, we're like four weeks away from breeze coming down with a mysterious injury and Winston getting a little bit of a test drive. I mean listen that would be wild and I. Think our boy that boy wolf the number one saints fan on. Twitter pointed out that Winston had killer training camp, and and you know we also have, of course chastened Tatum Hill the twenty one, million dollar man who really has not been involved the offense too much through two weeks. Sean Payton is a guy that is if they continue to struggle you imagine it's going to be hard for him not to think about mixing things up or perhaps making a big change, but it still thinks I still feels a little premature especially the Michael Thomas. Out. Emmanuel Sanders had had a bad game yesterday. He's obviously not his straight he's in the. Chakwal Smith. IS THEIR NUMBER ONE RECEIVER So a lot of the states have a lot of work to do both in strategy and play and discipline. And now they got the packers. So that's going to be a games. Look forward to

"Approval by the FDA yesterday. where it's a five dollar test fifteen minutes, you can get ninety six to ninety seven percent accuracy. On testing and they're like. Well too bad. The big ten canceled before something like this can happen. Wondering. If the testing and everything happens, can they turn the machines back on? I don't know I don't know. I mean, it's not like anyone from the big ten was going to win the national championship anyway. Accused guy. Syracuse guy over there Where Georgia House, rich Look at you you're Mr. Jazzy CD. My Gosh okay. Let's go back in the big ten country. Let's give it a second bite at the apple here line to at an Ohio you there. Ed. How you doing I'm good. Okay. Now that you're you're here. We wanted to I'm one of those guys that when if you're not ready when we call, I'll give you a second chance second. You know what I mean and I'm one of those guys. Had Somebody in my office, and then I was talking with them. That's why. Well we appreciate you. Taking time out of your work data to be with us here on. However you follow this show what's on your mind? You had said earlier, you know h shots in the back was too much and can someone explain why? Well my son is police officer and I was asking him about that last night because he was explaining to me that the general public just doesn't know the extent. Of Training. Videos of people that you wouldn't expect that surprisingly turn guns on them and shoot and kill police officers, and but they do is they go and they reenact those same scenarios to get. Practice so they know what to be aware of the other thing he told me and this was a real surprise. He said that they've seen videos and this is part of their training where guys have been shot in the heart place and there were still able to fire off to round and killed police officers and other guy has took shots in the show. and was still able to far off rounds and killed police officers. So when they are when they have to pull the gone, they don't want to go and they have to they're going to make sure that they don't get injured because he was with telling that. When someone's adrenaline kicks in you have no idea what they're capable of. Has. Your I'm of personal question. I. Apologize Has Your Son Ever discharged his weapon in the line of duty. You a lot of beauty have. I'm. Being. He's got extensive experience at handling eleven. He knows how to do that. Okay. So can you can you also bring to bear what you're so D- your your son is saying that there are circumstances that we have yet to learn about this shooting that we should. We should wait to hear or did he or did he think that this was an improper? He thought this was a good shoot because the gentleman this. Thing that you can give a lot of thought to. But he said that when you get pulled over for speeding ticket, you can't drive off whenever you feel like that the policeman has told. You know. So, and in this situation that occurred in Wisconsin the police were called because a domestic violence situation. Still Detained and when you're a detained, you can't just go and walk wherever you want. You have to wait until the police officer says, it's okay for you to do that, and that's not only to protect the police officer but it's also to protect the citizens and this guy did not only did he like things having a knife in his hand he chose to go into his car now it doesn't matter. The pope could there in this car with seven bishops reading the Bible and doesn't matter as soon as he went for his car he. He. He accelerated situation to a point where they really didn't have any choice 'cause. They can't take a chance that he's going to have an Uzi in there. He's GonNa take them all out. And one thing that Logan is said is the last thing that police officers WanNa do is use their gun they do not. Want a York. They really don't WANNA use it. Well, ed, I appreciate you hanging on in taking time out of your work day to call the show. Thank you okay thanks a lot you go. That's Edna. Here on the rich Eisen show. Let's go back to the phone lines here. been hold on the longest. Let's see what we got right here. DONNIE IN HOUSTON TEXAS PUTS UP DONNIE Yes sir. I'd like to know why. If if you're a black person and you get a truck or killed. That, the media does not acknowledge your death or shooting. I'm like you get shot by a white person. Do you understand what I'm saying. I think I'm picking up what you're saying Donnie but Okay here's what I'm saying so. That I. I'm sure you've heard this before but in the city of Chicago, there's been over four hundred black men killed. This. Year by gun violence, it's an. I I haven't heard anybody. Sympathy to their parents. Because it's black on black crime. So one. Is. We'll wait. Can you hold on? What I'm asking is this. Do their those one hundred people that have been done down. There black white matter. Of course, it doesn't thank you the call Donny, of course you know. Of Course we're we're talking about two completely separate issues here. Guest Tj you take a stab at Donny's. Sure. All right. We have about two minutes left morten ways that much time. So I I think. Here's here's the deal right when you speak about this black on black crime that you just spoke of and you say. If is a black man, take another black man's life. First of all, you can't say no one speaking out about it because I'm pretty sure you're not checking to see how many people or morning in that person but the fact that the matters me as a black male, if I shoot another black male or white male or an Asian male. Or female chances are I'm going to be arrested. I'm going to be tried. I'm going to spend the rest of my time in jail. The problem becomes when you have people in positions of power. That are there to protect and serve you. And when those type shootings happen where there might not be justice served that is where people start to get upset so. You know I kill man I'm going to Jill someone with a badge kills a man. There's a lot of gray area. No I I hear you and you know as well And I know we only have thirty seconds left here in this hour and you know edna allow talking about what his son was talking about policing, how anything can happen to go wrong and it's very nerve wracking to say the least understand and you talk about policing and how that can be the case. How how then? Does a seventeen year old with an ar fifteen get handed a bottle of water and allowed to walk away after he has.

"High hopper any player. Especially it'd be offensive player. Mario Williams have to wear the same Jackie coming out. The number one player tastes young. Wasn't the number one player. He was the number two player pick initiatives draft. But he's GonNa wear the same title and expectations are high. Has He performed as the number one pick with the production on a consistent basis weekend week out year to year with through five years? No absolutely not We've seen it in spurts. We've seen that. They've been go out and dominate games. We've seen today being cloudy. Go Out and just dismantle tied in tackles and just annihilate the quarterbacks and just be disruptive force with the problem is you have not seen it on a consistent basis. If you're talking about just being athlete going out there making a loose plays great plays swimming over somebody get in the backfield Taco philosophy. That's great but I can put on a tape and so you at the point of in the playoffs against the Indianapolis Colts when they ran direct runs out. There was no discipline. There was none of that. There was no disrupt his Bay. Pretty much marched him off the football and then whatever they wanted him to do. I think that's the things between football minds are watching looking at say they're having conversations were personnel. People in head coaches at play for is disappoint. What's his work at? Like if he a locker room leader. If we'RE GONNA pay guy hundred million dollars we WANNA make sure. He's only affecting the play but he's also affecting the locker room it other players around him if he that guy is he that guy that's GonNa work his ass off when nobody's there in the off season during the season and do more than what's asked him how is he in the meeting. Rooms all those questions going to be asked if you're talking about paying a player regardless of what position it is top to your dollars in the one thing. I don't like nowadays game is you don't really get paid on production you get paid. Because that's the market value back. When we played Marcellus you had to go out and earn a new contract you have to earn your signing bonus you had to earn being a top five actual position making a certain amount of money based on your production based on your numbers based on time. Play based on how you was in the Locker Room. All those things back there now with the market value is what dictates were players getting paid so there should be a red flag going up if you look at all the defensive players that was paid in the off season and a lot of people today beyond cloudy was the number one free agent on the defensive side and he still doesn't have a contract breath. Flag should go up and I think people are concerned with some of the things I mentioned going forward and give them that franchise type deal. Yeah I'm with Jason. Obviously his name is bigger than his game and I liked today in it. I think what happens is not just that he was the former number one overall pick because you can justify pick with numbers we played. We Played Defense Van. Defense ally if you get double digit sacks. Everyone's off your back. Is this that simple so today? Being accused absolve themselves of all these issues in terms of reputation if he just goes out there and gets double digit sacks at least once in his career which he has not. And then you talk about how in our day you had to earn it. Always tell this story about Davey and who I really like what has tremendous ability. But like you say you put on the tape. There are moments really and then you look at the total combination of the numbers. That's not a elite talent numbers and he has leaked ally when I had six sacks. I remember going upstairs to my own office get reprimanded almost hayes. Hey Marcellus you do this again you. You're going to be looking for work elsewhere. Meanwhile today's crowded gets six sacks and he's in a pro getting love. There's a difference there and it's not about draft positions about going out there. Lighten the film up and making those numbers matter and so far he hasn't done that consistently will thank you so much man. You might make the Sports Broadcasting Hall of fame as well putting some work today also stuff We gotta keep it moving Emmanuel Sanders. The New Orleans Saints New Wide Receiver is just around.

"Going to take off away needs to paint butchering it. It's old people be lying. In this case the older people you're discussing might not be lying however are going to be the next post patriotic general member but are the chiefs going to be the next post Patriots Dynasty. If there is going to be one it will certainly be the chiefs. They are not only the number one draft pick are the only draft pick one would consider for the award our for that title however dynasties in the. Nfl are incredibly hard to come by and to be fair commitment to take integrity. If we were on the air six years ago I would have bet my entire net worth that Seattle was about to be the next dynasty. They had a superstar quarterback they had this amazing Gore. I though they were going to win at least two. If not three super bowls and I know a lot of people will say well. They were this close they were. The closest team has ever come to winning a super without winning it and that is true. It's also true is the round before they even got to the Super Bowl that Seattle team. They were down twelve points with four minutes left in the Conference Championship. Game against the packers and need an amazing confluence of events just to make it back to the Super Bowl additionally the NFL's made it harder removing one of those buys the last three dynasties. We've had the Patriots of the tens of Patriots of the odds and the cowboys of the nineties. In all nine of their super bowls. They had a bye all nine times. And now getting a buys even harder but wildwood. I will say this. You couldn't be better setup in Kansas City. Is You have the best player and most valuable player in the entire League of a future hall of Fame Coach. You have an extraordinary. Gm and Brett Beach. You have your entire core locked up for the next two seasons at least aside from homes and that'll happen in short order so the chiefs are set up well and if we were to set the over under on career Super Bowls Patrick. Mahomes at two and a half. I don't think there's a personal world who has taken the under so they are better setup in anyone wild but it is so incredibly difficult to do what your beloved Patriots did which is probably why. The Patriots needed the assistance of a couple of cheating scandals. In order to do it. Oh Jeez you're good. Oh my goodness that was like a ninety nine percent. Perfect take and I was like I was very excited to go nick and I'm like wow I'm gonNA have to temper it down then you come in with a knife in my back okay. So here's what I think. You made a great point about the buys. I thought that was fascinating because I forgot about the buys. You guys aren't going to be able to get the buy every year like Bell Jack. Here's what I think is interesting. I've been patriots fan my entire life but in the course of this dynasty if asked me to describe the dynasty. That's why people say it's Bella check in or it's brady because it's hard to just put one stamp on the dynasty and say this is who they are now the changed. I think you know who the chiefs are there like Will Ferrell. They're like beloved and great. But you know where you're going to get Patriots Day Lewis. Who knows where you'RE GONNA get? Maybe shows up to three hundred pounds. Maybe it'll be you know emaciated. Maybe he's to be old. Maybe he's going to be computer generated young. So let's look at some of the Patriots season where they've been great and try to figure out what type of team they were. Here's a team. I put question marks. I gave it away. They're both the Patriots everybody first year three scoring defense number one. Hey how about? This is super bowl loss. We went thirteen and three. If not for Mario Manningham we would've won. We had a great offense all right. How about another? We'll do another blind resume you can. You're able to guess who this is to kind of blew the joke here or these two guys. This Guy Seems Pretty pedestrian eighteen touchdowns twelve interceptions. The next guy seems like the best quarterback in the history of the world surprise. Surprise the guy on the left won the Super Bowl. The guy on the right didn't because of a darn helmet catch so the moral of the story is to be Patriots Dynasty or to dynasty. You have to be more of a Chameleon Bell Jack and not kind of like a will ferrell character like Knicks chiefs are. I love you so much. For Botching. The blind reveal. You have no idea that was but but the truth is make a great point. We we just don't know Greg Right. We have no idea what this future holds. All you can say. Is the chiefs. Have the foundation? The chiefs have the chemistry. They have the coach. They seem to have the quarterback. You would think that if there was a team in the league right now that we're gonNA fill the shoes of of what the Patriots Dynasty just left. It would be Kansas City. Would you not agree? Greg would definitely agree but one thing I would be cautioned of is how hard and challenging it is to just simply become a dynasty to even start that process which the Kansas City chiefs have obviously started once you win the Super Bowl and you retain a number of personnel pieces. That has allowed you to get to that point. However what would wilde is saying is Biz very true like the New England patriots. They did it in a unique fashion. Yes they had. Tom Brady. Who is arguably the greatest of player. Nfl Player quarterback whatever. You want to classify him as of all time. But he wasn't the only piece that would that you would have to focus on in order for them to win when you look at the Kansas City chiefs if you eliminate Patrick mahomes which we've seen with Aaron Rodgers which we've seen with drew brees. We we've seen quarterbacks go down and then the team looked completely different. We've never really seen that with the New England Patriots and I'm just cautious with the Kansas City chiefs. Although they have are clearly the best quarterback in the sport right now in. Patrick Mahomes if anything were to happen with that at that position everything changes for them. It's set up for them. It's just hard to do. I was on the team with the Green Bay packers where we felt like we had the but we knew we had the best quarterback in all of football the most talented the most gifted and we had a lot of pieces but defensively. We struggled offensively. We didn't have a running game and we try to allow Aaron. To carry us in just never quite came to fruition as we thought but it's a challenging thing to create a dynasty but if there is a team that has the pedigree and ingredients it is a Kansas city chiefs. Well Greg I'm glad you referenced your time in Green Bay. Because we'd be remiss if we don't show some of the parallels here. Aaron obviously sat his first three years so lunch just eliminate those for a moment errands first year. Then is a starter. You guys missed the playoffs. His second year you guys make the playoffs and lose a heartbreaking playoff game. Yeah it's fifty one forty five. If I remember correctly in overtime to Kurt Warner's Arizona cardinals. Then you win the Super Bowl then next year you were fifteen one the only team that beat you're actually was a terrible chiefs team at Arrowhead Stadium. I remember right and then Eli got you guys in the famous game. Where Tom Golf and looks like his nose. Going to break. All so the chiefs year. One for Mahomes. He doesn't really play year two. They lose a heartbreaking playoff game the D. Ford offsides game in overtime. When maybe they could have won the super bowl similar to your guys. Fifty one forty five game year three. They win the Super Bowl year four. They're the favorites. Like you guys were and it can go like that so I do wonder after the fifteen in one year when you guys felt like you were the best team in football and just had a bad day at the wrong time going into the next year. Did you have the same type of confidence that that was around the team? Coming off the Super Bowl. Even though you hadn't won it was interesting we did. We did have the same type of confidence all through the regular season. And we're I would say it started to shift was in the playoffs and the question started to come Washington questions. The the feeling started a little different because of the by like the year we want it. It was no gap. There was no by we were. We were the sixty and we were on a roll at the end of the season. Moving right into the playoffs where Kansas City has been impressive is they had a bye and they were able to sit and they were hot as offense team instill pick back up and keep rolling. Those are things that come back to bite you. We were hungry. The first year we had we had one. We had never experienced that high in so the following year. I truly remember it like it was yesterday. I remember are run in. It was like we know one in that facility or that building had doubt that we were going to win a game no one but the second year being fifteen in one and then having the by we almost hate it that we had the by like in that feeling was just slightly different. We knew we were a really good team. We felt like we were better than the giants. But we know just like in sport every single day anything can happen and you want to continue that momentum while you're hot and we just didn't so it's it's the parallels that you may are extremely exciting to see. I hope they're outcome is different than ours. I believe it can be but there are a lot of teams that are going to try to make them look like how we looked in that second year to follow up that Super Bowl win and then one other thing to keep in mind is is how much this team changes. Once Patrick Mahomes.

that's what I know Isaac right right you think if you make that kind of investment in a player you intend to have him around I'm surprised they didn't promptly signed into an extension last year when it was clear that he had the goods so now it has gotten this close to him leaving I agree he's going to be gone the man that's a lot to have given up remind me what the eagles did my when I got golden Tate yeah third round pick right a line they just walk away in free agency and yeah it factors into the compensatory draft pick formula but still you're not getting that three at four back when Emmanuel Sanders on to someone else all right next up Robby Anderson jets receiver says yeah I wanna make sure read this exactly to Chris I don't want to I think you actually doing fine no joke you need to explain to me what the hell fool's gold is what is it tell me they explain that to me as we go here insiders sold it do I did it got here I I would eat a fool's gold basically is like it's phony it's a it's a phony bit of reaches out you know all right is going to make sure and that's why Hey look it's like the New York Giants traded for Leonard Williams and thought they were gonna get a long term solution for their defensive line and that turned out to be fool's gold very it might be fool's gold for David Gettleman as much as it is for Leonard Williams all rights okay what it's all about yeah there's well I haven't even read the question yet you jumped ahead now that are full knows what fools gold is I can get to the question Robby Anderson says he has unfinished business with the jets true or false Robby Anderson is free agency's fools gold now you can answer Chris okay I I'm not gonna say he's free agency's rules gold now I I don't now I mean is he a knuckle head do I like some of the things that I've heard about Robby Anderson and you know what do you get off the field in a few moments you know on the field you know like a few years ago talking about the Pro Bowl as a young player like in a moment you shouldn't be doing it on the sidelines but I do think Hey there's a special skill set with this player you know as we all know it is speed is hard to replicate and Robby Anderson can fly he can fly with the best of them so I don't think he's a guy where you would look at to go he's gonna have a hundred receptions and be the number one target on my team no I think he's more of like a bargain Jones up in Detroit right he's going to be really good a lot of years of eighty and seventy and sixty but I'll be a deep threat is gonna open up a lot of other things in your offense every one of these receivers who were talking about and look this is not this is a lousy free agent crop for wide receivers yeah okay but every single one that you're talking about you can't discuss them in a vacuum because every single one of these guys and and all all give you I'll give you a great example as it pertains to the New York Jets they have the New York Giants late third round pick and if I were the New York Jets I would not prioritize Robby Anderson I would figure that with that pic I got from the giants you know basically a freebie with that pic I got from the giants maybe I'm not waiting till late in the third round or at the beginning of the third round excuse me to take a wide receiver maybe I could take him earlier but that extra pick gives you the luxury to make decisions like that as far as Robby Anderson goes I think he's a good to very good NFL receiver but I'm sorry I am not paying huge money unless I'm the patriots and I have to have a veteran receiver to compete this year Hey if if Brady comes back I'm not paying a premium price for a wide receiver in this year's free agency crop there are just too many low cost for the next four years receivers that you can get in the second and third round this is the by product of all those seven on seven camps all those passes are beyond road at the high school level all those quarterbacks developing receivers are developing as well and you're right well you can pay a guy over four years considerably less than you're gonna pay a guy per year under this free agency model so I agree fools gold or not it's too much to spend when they're gonna be so many great young receivers in the draft all right Robert Griffin the third name has been mentioned in trade talks according to NFL media tour falls Griffin is the perfect backup to Lamar Jackson in Baltimore well the perfect backup I'm gonna say false because look I I think Robert Griffin has a fine backup okay but you're saying is he the perfect backup so in other words if Lamar Jackson is incapacitated in the third game of the year is that the best that we can do for somebody to take over and to go win a Super Bowl for us and and you know maybe he is but I'm not overwhelmed with Robert Griffin the third and in my opinion I think especially with the as a bright on offense if group as they have among the coaches I think they could take a and if if they let him go either in trade or in free agency and I'm the ravens I say give me Jaylen hurts in the third round or eat you don't take a quarterback from this year's crop and and basically use him the way he was Robert Griffin the third and again what what is the what's his cap number Mike about two or two point five million dollars out of them yes two million so it's not prohibitive but I just I don't know if I have as much confidence as many people do in RG three well Peter listen you you make good points there's no doubt about it I think it was like middle of the road you know towards the bottom of the league team I would agree with you but here I'm going to say true I do think he's perfect for for a few reasons an old one I do think RG three is still got talent you know to I would say you know the great thing about a really good back up as well and you can continue to run your offense and not have to change things because all men the backup is you know got that much different of a skill set that our starter or you know just as in this town to now I'm not saying he's Lamar Jackson executive the run like Lamar Jackson but we know we can run at least keep that the right there and then the I think the last reason I say he's perfect it's just because you know it and I understand your Jaylen hurts kind of thoughts and things like that yes there seems to be guys like that all the time but this is a team that's in the Super Bowl window right now and just like we saw with the saints last year I think it's just very important for these type of teams that have a good failsafe plan with a guy like RG three because if things do break down or I will mark Jackson gets hurt you don't want the team to fall off earth because of one injury and that's where I would tend to say yeah see he's he's pretty damn good for their situation right now yeah but here's the thing yeah mere fact in his name has emerged as a possible right trade candidate yeah it tells me that the ravens who tend to be playing four dimensional chess while everyone else is playing checkers when it comes to these matters they know who is the perfect backup to Lamar Jackson and they are going to try to get him in one way to clear the decks is to get someone to take RG three off their hands two million dollars is an extremely attractive figure for somebody would be interested in bringing in RG three but my guess is that the cost of the GM and John Harbaugh the head coach have someone else in mind that they will view as even better than Griffin and I think you got to think about where Lamar Jackson is right now in his career development who's the best backup to help Lamar Jackson get to the next level whatever it is last year didn't go right and maybe this is all focused on winning a playoff game maybe there's another back up out there that they've decided this is gonna be the guy that number one is the right guy to back him up all year long and number two is the right guy to push him to that higher level Peter when it's time to win a playoff game yeah hi Hey you know look I would agree with Chris if I thought that because two million dollars obviously is very reasonable yeah it it's just that I have not been shown at all that that I would trust look at it again I'm I'm just using Jaylen hurts as a you know yeah I got you though I understand so who knows who they like in the draft right my only thing is I just don't know right now if RG three if you handed the reins of this team and he's got a win ten or twelve games and then he's going to take you through the month of January I'm not saying he can't do it I'm just not around him enough to have faith in him to do it yeah it's there and they listen maybe the guy they got is already on the roster maybe they think trace McSorley is that guide to your guys point that they can save some money and so you know throw some more money at a match you diner who whatever it may be the feel improved their team so you know I get it is business and you're you're you're guys points are real I I hear yeah I would I would err on keeping him right now I'm gonna make a completely reckless prediction here that is based on something other than the most obvious dot connecting which means it's like any other day.
From Brady to Carr, ranking Bears' quarterback options in NFL free agency, draft
"Free agency. Starting soon as we mentioned earlier in the show March eighteenth four. Pm teams can actually out signings the signings and the wide receiver classes fascinating Jj. Because I think mostly because it sort of matches up with the draft class. This is a loaded wide receiver draft class studs and studs and studs. Nobody that's like necessary. I I like I tend to think see lamb and Jerry. Judy can be. I don't want to call them like Julio Jones. Aj Green types. Because that I think does a disservice to really any young player coming to the League to to compare them too borderline hall. Julio definitely the hall of fame. Aj Borderline Hall of fame to compare them to that type of player. But there's a great group of guys who look like they can be viable starters in the NFL out of the gate however they will have to compete with teams who resigned teams will have to decide. Do they want to ask somebody like that or do they want to size like? Aj Green should he make free agency? let's go through your top five wide receivers. Who's at number five number? Five number five. I have Randall COBB. Yes sorry I remember number five. I Have Randall. Cobb. Randall COBB. Of course coming off that season with the cowboys really difficult to see how they're going to be able to pay him And so as I was going through this and I thought to myself well thought. Where could he ended up? In fact I didn't think that's about self depot. Ask me where he could end up. I would have to tell you on your and some wanted to tell you that. I'm looking at an Indianapolis Colts a team. That was really struggling to throw the ball down the field last year. Now lot of that adds do of course which cover said. I understand that but I've never really been impressed with the wide receiving group that the colts have of course. They thought that they were going to have a few more options That did not work out with Devon punches. Who dealt with injury for most of the season. So Randall COBB. He's GONNA turn thirty before next season. He's at nine. Nfl seasons he had a eight hundred plus yards last year. I like him. What the colts and whoever their quarterback could be yes so it's interesting the question is would you rather have a guy like rental car bounced back nicely. Who Fits with the perfect slot style of of the modern? Nfl You've got three wide receiver sets etc etc. You can win outside and in some cases might be too old that now he's going to be thirty before the season starts or would you rather dabble in the shod. Perrin and sweepstakes and I might be inclined to agree with you. I like the PERSAD. Payment freaks me out like what? You're really like this Guy Ozzie. Newsome couldn't get this guy right and you're telling me that now like Jameis. Winston fixed him. I don't know if I'm buying it entirely woods. I would run away from shop Perriman. eighty might be fantastic human being but in terms of on the field play. I think that it was a flash in the pan how he sort of came on there in November and December for the bucks Certainly James with the five thousand passing yards sort of inflated his six hundred forty five receiving yards Paran- I just had issues for most of his career and I'm not willing to take a few weeks from last season. He's turned the corner. I kind of tend to agree with you. I wouldn't be opposed to like a one year not too pricey deal with precise payment but I would not want to make some big splash on that guy Given what's out there. It is interesting to this class offers. A lot of slot options like Geronimo. Alison is their Nelson Aguilar. Philip door set You can uh Devin funchess. Maybe didn't make the cut for. Jj surprise there. He's more of a tight end. Not a slot guy But then also demarcus Robinson who was very effective in Kansas City system. I think there's a lot of speed slack is out there so if I were if I were General Manager would probably at the top of the market. Do their own thing. Because I don't want to overpay for top of the market I would then sign a slack. If I got a young quarterback here I would sign a guy for agency at a lower cost and then go out and get by number one in theory in the in the draft. So that's probably why those guys didn't make the top five and I would tend to agree with you. Who's your number four on this list number four Robbie Anderson Levin love and coming off that season with the New York jets My best fit for him is the New York jets Because Gosh they really if they lose him. I don't know what they're gonNA do at the receiver position. They absolutely have to upgrade even by keeping him. They need to upgrade to upgrade that offensive line as well but seven hundred seventy nine receiving yards last season. He'll be twenty seven this upcoming year if enough teams and and if the jets WANNA mess around with this Joe. Douglas wants to mess around with us. He has been In conversations with with Robbie Anderson's representation if some teens get involved here and this is taken care of at the very started illegal tampering window or before. The price could go up on Robbie Anderson because of his age because of his speed because of what he did last season and then you can start approaching. Fourteen fifteen million dollars per year. I think the jets absolutely have to knock this out early and if they mess this up in some way if they decide not to bring him back. I'm looking at a place that he could go to looking at the Philadelphia Eagles who obviously could always use a upgrade. Their I the interesting seeing there may be some overlap there but the eagles need help it wide receiver. But I hope probably Anderson's faculty jets. I kinda liked that idea and I do think. There's a little bit of like say the Shaw Jackson to his game. That's an insult to the Sean Jackson as fast as to Sean Jackson Robbie interesting could be more of a position. He's he's more of a like he's a bigger body type of guy but who also possesses that deep speed. That might be complementary for the other pieces that eagles have so. I don't hate that idea. If I don't know how Roseman takes a deep dive a free. Hd but he's got cast a bird so maybe it happens a May I ask your number three is and then I started to say Emmanuel Sanders is your third wideout. He is my third wide out. And it's really just because age. He's GONNA turn thirty three. Where do I have him? The obviously he's not going to be in San Francisco. I initially till depot the Carolina Panthers and I said the Carolina Panthers because I'm not entirely sure the panthers are convinced. Honesty Smith is not convinced that they have a number one wide receiver they have DJ more. They have Curtis Sam. You hope that. Dj More is going to be that but what they seem to be lacking. Is that fantastic veteran presence in there and after I spent a lot of time will in the month of January with the San Francisco. Forty niners covering their postseason games. What I learned from a depot Samuel from kindred born was just how much manual sanders mentor. Those guys those young group of players coming up and how they were able to really improve their game early in their career after the trade for manual. Sanderson San Francisco did so I look at a team like the Carolina Panthers and I say. Oh those young guys could really benefit from a guy like Emmanuel Sanders however Emmanuel Sanders is kind of like Andrei Dala in in that like he elite should and probably only wants to play for a championship. Contender right. He's been with. The broncos just went to another super bowl and so we're talking about contenders we're talking about teams that need wide receivers. The New England Patriots is. They are trying to retain Tom Brady. That would be fantastic. Get sound radio. Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick said. Hey We got you Emmanuel Sanders and we got you this two or three year contract to finally finish your career in New England. What you say Tommy. Now that's great call. I think if you're the Patriots and this was the delicate line that they have to sort of walk with Tom Brady is. Can you go out into the mark like once we get to that noon at noon? It it's eleven fifty. Nine fifty nine on Monday can the Patriots manage in the span of about Let's see twelve thirty six hours. Thirty brought to us as a forty eight hours. Fifty two hours is probably right in fifty two hours. Can they manage to tamper their way into landing? Somebody like Mandal Sanders. Somebody like Hunter Henry and successfully like a- convinced Tom Brady to return if that's what they ultimately want their plan to be and if it is. I think that could be you know like. That's that's certainly a blueprint to having Tom. Brady back in New England. But I think you're going to have to get guys. Just beef up the receiving core for him if you want him to come back in my opinion all right the last two guys in this list that they're going to be the same for everybody. You could flip them if you want to Depending on your opinion of home and away splits for one guy in age for the other guy number two guy. Aj greed number. One Guy. Maury Cooper I beast I mean these are the first of all. There's a chance either. Guide makes it the free agency or Cooper could get transitioned franchise tag the transition tag depending on the CBA depending on what happens attack. Prescott's contract AJ Green. It does sound like the bengals franchise tag him but he throws a fit and says he's going to refuse to play for him then. Maybe that doesn't happen. What led you to stack these guys in this particular way. Jj Yes so I have AJ green at number two. Only because of agent injury concerns that He has missed something. Like twenty four the past twenty five games that the bengals have played due to injury So that is my issue with him. Amari Cooper last. We saw him was not getting the ball thrown as much his way as should have certainly against the Philadelphia Eagles. I felt that he still has it. Obviously he's young much younger than Aj. Green who I believe is turning thirty two this year. Amari Cooper is currently twenty five. He will be twenty six before the start of the season so If a Jake Reed were healthy he would be my number one with a bullet. No doubt about it on about his health and then So in terms of fits right We believe that. Aj agrees with the bengals eight. We'll extend the franchise tag if they do not then. I think that we can reignite the does job want to go to Cincinnati rumors and so just for the sake of argument. I through the raiders in there as a landing spot for A. J. Green. But of course I'm not putting too much effort into A. J. Green out to one of the thirty one other teams. He's going to Cincinnati. As far as Mark Cooper. I had no idea how the San Francisco Forty niners would do it in terms of contract and money but I have cooper going to the forty niners if he does not end up with the cowboys but again. They're the cowboys to do. Everything they can. To Keep Amari Cooper traded a first round pick for. It made a lot of sense. Not Not immediately when they made the trade form right.
Report: NFL will add playoff team to each conference beginning this season
"Says these NFL expanded playoffs is people saying wait what and if I expanded playoffs that's right Adam Schefter Anna no where everybody know this was coming I did notice is common debt the NFL's thinking of expanding the playoffs it is only gonna do it and add a seventeen game which we've heard Richard Sherman among others no they don't want any part of that strongly again once their bodies man I mean it you know so the players are going to vote on this but obviously you know it's all things bargaining and we'll see what they get Emmanuel Sanders played seventeen last year was a big question I have is if this were to go through and then with the new play because because I heard you talking about this today does that mean the new playoff format for number one seed even would include you would have to win three playoff games just to get to those who want to get to buy once he gets a bye you have to the other six teams play three winners emerge in there for shop at the to see now would have to play well card we have that's the change so it's still like the Packers getting a bra they wouldn't they would have they would have to play but that same with that's that that's the interesting thing is the Packers would have not had a bye neither would Kansas city Kansas city whatever to play four games to win a Super gaffe gonna be that one see that's why it's a lot of exchange that's like a quarter of a season rail like that then what what players get in return is an up tick from the forty seven percent of total revenue they're currently guaranteed over the full CBA so that they would go to forty eight percent they get more money what is that going to compromise a level of football two by the tech guy can be like that's already did but that went like you don't you might not be getting the best product because now you talk and seventeen games plus maybe four plus two it's just too already players are gonna sign off on these do what they are we'll see I don't know I don't know about that one the fact is being reported by the likes of a Mike silver and Ian Rapoport in Adam Schefter means we're getting close to his Shafter okay give me some shifter on this we're gonna get more regular season weeks we're gonna get more post season games more wall car action and one of the players get an increase in their percent of the revenue now right now the NFL players get forty seven percent of the current revenue under the terms of the new deal he'll be forty eight percent for sixteen games and forty eight and a half percent for a seventeen game season which means a shift of five billion dollars that's five would that be billion dollars so the players get a lot more money the NFL gets more games to sell which equals more money and basically there's more money for everybody to go around the ever the old phrase everybody has their price there you go you know policy ever made a scene I mean eyes their price and they did that players like no no no no no five billion nine maybe and I'm pretty sure they somebody always talking right the seventeenth game I don't think would be added until the twenty twenty one season but the fourteenth I guess the thirteenth and fourteenth playoff teams could be added as early as this season is that correct I'm not sure twenty twenty one well the the at the current buyers following this season right but they're still talk about adding the playoff format I think they could change with approval but is this good for football the like is this good I wonder it's gonna do like the ultimately the product to be honest I can honestly see load management entering the other that's all they're going to have to the human body can only take so much they might you might see a stud like George killer somebody like sit out a game I wouldn't I would totally understand that you can't expect the human body to survive twenty one an NFL full on from there so few gave you got a win everyone of you place you can't load manage too
What one thing Kyle Shanahan would have done differently in Super Bowl
"Shanahan first public comments post the Super Bowl indicating he thinks the way they ended the first half was one of the reasons why they were up in the in the fourth quarter quote. I think that's one of the reasons why we're up. Ten in the fourth quarter and quote also thinks Jimmy Garoppolo one of the main reasons they got the super bowl quote. Jimmy is one of the main reasons we got the super bowl times by pal shot at hand. I'm telling the first comment obviously defend his quarterback. Doc Look no one's defended. Shane had play calling for the last few days. More than me. I think the criticism of him throwing the ball has been way overblown. But I'm still critical of of how we handle the end of that first half yes. It's why they were up ten but I do believe he should of anticipation that Patrick mahomes against gas line of Defense in the fourth quarter was a bad bad matchup and they should have tried to take the point when their offense and the defense. We're both dominating capital Biracial Shannon. I'm buying this is exactly what you want to hear. The leader is conviction. You don't need him lamenting this loss. Nothing's going to change. Don't keep watching the titanic over and over again as for starting next year. Of course you should. He's not not only was a good game manager but he had the best pass completion last year referring to Emmanuel Sanders. WHO said he's already watched the Super Bowl five or six times and every time? It's like watching the titanic padded down. Frank do you know that feeling by herself. Shanahan year his goal was not to give the ball back at the end of the first half. Let's remember the offensive offensive. Pass interference call. They should have been down there kicking a field goal going ahead by three points. The issue was those two drives after. San Francisco's I'm sorry after the Kansas City scored that was the issue in the fourth quarter. They did not lose a game in the first half. I don't have a problem with it and bob run a CELENA BY I. AM selling the nonsense agenda. Have I remember sitting here thinking Tom. Brady's watching this going for a minute. Forty three time outs give it to me. Give it to me. Every coach in the League was saying. What are you doing Janet? Hey and you're asking. What are you doing Bob? I have to say respectively. I'm selling you. What were you doing with your super bowl? Pick because they never came in. You never made a super bowl pick right here except Francisco within Cisco Forty niners. Here's your deduction Emily Kaplan. I mean this was not blackstone but about as good as you can do it as well. You're here you're super bowl. Pick and we move on fire sale to raptors one nineteen pacers one eighteenth the champs who you can never talk about coming coming back from nineteen down to get the win. They now have won twelve straight if a defending champion warriors team where he teamed one twelfth. You'd be writing love sonnets. In IAMBIC pentameter
49ers throw locker room party after NFC West-clinching win over Seahawks
"Right now our chat with Chris he covers the San Francisco forty Niners to the Sacramento bee he was in Seattle on Sunday night for the thrilling finish he joins us courtesy of the I guess like Chris how's it going I'm doing well are you guys great great I I would have to imagine that it's been a while twenty four hours for you with the travel up in back to Seattle the game that took place play late on a Sunday night the stakes were clear the forty Niners knew they needed to win a wrap up the coveted number one seed what was the locker room seem like after the game it was it was kind of a a party like atmosphere it was I mean it was clear that that things had died down a little bit by the time the media got in there but you could definitely tell that guys really excited about the result the fact that they clinched really home field advantage and the by some of the veterans particular Joe Staley was was really happy just to finally get that winning feeling again back in Seattle place they obviously hadn't won since two thousand eleven so the live was released excitement that this team hasn't had a bison's week for all the way back in September something housetraining talk a little bit about today Emmanuel Sanders played seventeen regular season games because he didn't get a bye week after coming over be a trade from the Broncos in October so I I think the forty Niners are really going to enjoy this week often and you look at the last five games pretty much all of them have come down to the wire and they've all been really hard fought motional intense game so forty hours will gladly take his breather though they'll get a little bit healthier ahead of that divisional round game January eleventh and and they're feeling pretty good about things work where they stand as the top seed in the

"Inside of Emmanuel Sanders George kettle is inside a devotion or two by two formation to right to left here's the Rapallo with a straight drop most runs out Qahtan Campbell the line back there to catch that ball yes he did want to catch that was tight coverage there but a divine Drake camera tremendous coverage linebacker he just slid a little bit too was right to get the angle on that out cut and Moster takes up five yards Mr is such a good running back in every way not only a good runner chan that he is shown to have very good hand absolutely and he had to lay out for that one to get it and make this you know second and manage going gets a positive yard under twelve minutes to play eleven fifty to play forty Niners lead by a field goal kill those emotional one final second on five Robert owner center takes the snap of garbage right from the most are cut back didn't get much got to the thirty five yard line and it'll bring up a third down about three from there Matt Grady Jarrett is just so good he is a big challenge to block and and he just reads it perfectly and he knows he knows that stretch play if he shows his hat to the outside is going to force the cut back and he baited Moser right into it through his head to the outside a person that was able to disengage shed come back to the inside keep it to a minimal game short with a shoulder injury to check McAnally in Allen Bailey in active today Grady chaired is just not come off the field very much today third down and three a bunch formation left Kidal is right rob it'll looking right now DR Jones the force of the fact that the flag down there to get a hold their throw and it's broken up back towards George candle in a ball was better the way by believe the ray Wilson one of the official to open up his microphone we could hear the referee I think role status there's gonna be a whole here against the forty Niners which Atlanta will decline holding offense number twenty six the panel is the client was all the way four thousand seven Coleman and now they're gonna bring it was nasty and punt the ball back Jelena.
"emmanuel sanders" Discussed on The Dan Patrick Show
"L.. Is the first time I I was well. You mean correct as well and I guess at a game like like the first experience you like. This would be the story that you would tell you your kids about Peyton manning the first game a preseason game and I remember After doing in Denver I had like walking and I wasn't going to play in it. Their preseason game my First game as a Bronco was going to be in the opening game and I got a text message from pain tonight or saying that he wants to get to work with me He wants to get to work with me to The trend is like oh you should play and they wanna get a word which you can go out and play and we'll have a week and half or we can have off it really just recovery. Just go out and play a half for me and we'll go from there so you know I walk into the trainer on my planet like you know playing I gotta get to work. Tayside goes and I go out and Louis I have In in the in the first half I have like I think like a hundred yards and a free. She's a a hundred yard One of the first passes I caught from or maybe a second third was like a sixty five yard bomb a touchdown and then I come back like a minute and a half later After we get the ball back in just like a thirty five yard touchdown and I had a hundred yards and touchdowns at half and appreciating game. I was just like what. Hey Hey did you ever get an autograph from Peyton. I never got an autograph. That's my guy I talked to. I talked doc. So mark and So I think I need that Nobody Jersey Jersey's should though at some point I'll probably go around around all the experts I play with. He sent him while. But you send them to you know. They're able to get their Jersey but I haven't got his jersey. Yeah collect them for for your son you know one day just say those are the guys that dad played with. That'd be cool. Hey congrats on the season and we look forward to seeing you in the playoffs. We appreciate the time see but that's Emmanuel Sanders. The forty niners wide receiver. Receiver is good. He you know. We answer the question. He actually answers the question and I think he sees himself in the media when all said and done when when he was injured when he blew out his Achilles then he worked for the NFL network. Didn't you get into that beef with Antonio Brown yeah. He commented on anti his former teammate. Same Draft Class Pittsbur-. Well I was looking at that for most I if you look. At those two wide receivers Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders were taken in the same draft by the steelers. I don't think there's a pair of wide receivers taken in the same draft by the same team you've ever had more combined yards than in those two because that it's up to almost over one thousand nine thousand yards. Antonio Brown was his sixth round Pick Emmanuel Sanders was a third round. Pick Antonio Brown over eleven thousand yards manual sanders just under seventy eight hundred yards second on that list. You Guys WanNa take a guess. So the these are wide receivers taken in the same draft by the same team. The other one is second on the list. The Cincinnati Natty bengals took these two wide receivers one in round two one in round seven mclovin. Oh I I. It's not swan salwars. Weren't they same draft but lady to have a lot of yards. But they're all favors. Yeah but they didn't have a lot of yards at TJ who spoons outta and somebody Ocho Cinco. John's yeah you've got the hard one with Tj Oshman's Zonta. Yeah Paul I was. Let's go Carl pickens and Darnay Scott. I was going to go really. You're wow I think it. Colin was Collins Worth. Anybody know. That's how I was GonNa say counselor to actually no. They only had one and he was really he was he was kind of pro bowl. I think it was a pro bowl player. had over a thousand yards four times. I think Collins work did they. I remember the Bengals took the bengals. Always had bad draft picks though I mean collins were proved to be a great draft pick boomer. Science was a great draft. Pick Club. Munoz Munoz the best offense lineman ever so they just got lucky day of no scouting owning department right but but then they also had drafts. Where you're taking a CA- John Carter but you know he blew out his knee? Dan Wilkinson I remember when the Bengals had three first round picks I believe and I think they may have whiffed on all three. I think they have Ross browner. They took they took a wide receiver. Radic Kansas David and who takes a wide receiver out of Kansas. To begin with David Not Varner. I'm trying to think of this first draft pick. We'll take we'll take a break here. Do you see it. They're mclovin. This would have been back in the eighty S. Still still after I. Is it Jordy Nelson Outta Kansas. This is he was he was Kansas State. Oh you're right you don't take yes. mclovin or poly eighty four. The bengals took Ricky Hunley. Pete Koch and Brian Blade. Yeah first round. That didn't go well at wide receiver you're thinking of his David Bursar versus. They took him in the first round Hollandsworth in the second around. And this this kid. I was telling you about the nation's top rated athlete a Mecca. Buca I believe is the the kid I was watching last night. He's the he's the number one player route recruit. I guess in college or High School football but he had this one handed. Grab that is worth seeing. All right. We'll take a break back after this from the Dan Patrick show everybody's got a to do list. I get one for my wife. Drop off the dry cleaning pick-up pick up some milk. figure out something to get out of the house so I can relax..

You picked up their best fantasy player on the waiver wire most likely in John Brown. How many of you might be using Josh Allen? But just because they're not lighten up your fantasy team and just because you don't pay attention to them because they're the Buffalo Buffalo bills and you think that they're not really easy eight and three. I'm telling you and Sean McDermott head coach. He knows how to beat an NFC NFC's team. He comes from the Eagles. I'm telling you people this is got all the makings for for everything to go sideways for the Dallas Cowboys Tomorrow. So what happens if that does go down. Dallas lose nothing nothing. You're nothing jason doesn't eat it correct. He doesn't eat it. Jerry will not make a move in the middle of the season he won't. It'll just get tougher for them emna to anyone to figure out a way for Garrick to get out of this. He wins the division and maybe a playoff game and gets to the NFC championship game. That's the that's his way out here. I'm telling you it has all the makings go sideways. That's my opinion. He might just say that that the hell of it. We got a full week here. But who's he put in charge. Chris Rashard what does he do. Not Killing more. Looks like He. Just got Barmitzvah. I mean seriously. He's not GonNa do that and think that this is. "Forty nine out of forty Niners also love the lines Sanders David Johnson looking he gets to the a couple of highlights their courtesy of fox Emmanuel Sanders good news set to play today for the forty Niners so that is big news if you're Sanders owner go ahead and get him into your line up he had a a productive day a few weeks back and I believe this Thursday night when the forty Niners took on the cardinals just two weeks ago yeah so make sure that Emmanuel Sanders is a locked into your line up as for David Johnson you heard their luck I don't know if you saw the highlights that was going around the interwebs last week but this week actually was not encouraging if you're a David Johnson owner he just does not have the burst and I don't know if it's all related to a back injury but I don't see how you can continue to use him at least at this point if your fantasy owner until he shows you some production and that has not been there for him the last few weeks Kenyan Drake actually looked more explosive last week when he was in the game so if you're a David Johnson owner I think it's finally time to send him to the bench because I just don't feel confident right now until I see something and now it's it's visual to you look at it's not just the box score but you see on tape that he is not the same player that was so dynamic a few years back so David Johnson go ahead and put him on the bench in this game as well for the forty Niners George kill is out so your going to need to find someone else if you're a George kill owner worth mentioning I think that is at least good news for anybody who went in and grab Devo Samuel Sam is been getting a lot of love over the past week because of the production he had on Monday night against the Seahawks I will say though a lot a lot of that was a result of Emmanuel Sanders leaving the game so deep will sit Devo samp Samael while his production was very nice I would say I'm going to temper the enthusiasm about it for this week but I can still see I could still see sneaking him into my line up as a kind of a wide receiver three or flex play this week without kill mouth can I will say one kill returns and Sanders in the line up things might get a little bit more concerning if you're a D. both Samuel owner but right now right in my well he's hot.
NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football Betting Picks: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers
"Welcome in to the the board podcast powered by Fox bet week eight Monday night football edition dolphins steelers y'all are pretty excited for which would be a barn burner of a football game I'm your host firm joined by my colleague coast the one the only pain insider lots of enthusiasm I'm trying pain I'm not a premature whistle blower like we saw in Nashville but I still haven't positive mindsets get this thing going believe it you can achieve it and it wasn't the results were looking for either the college or professional football rain six but we persevere we continue to plow ahead and no we have a long season left in front of us so as we do every Monday we'll start the good the bad and the ugly we of course Dr Chow waiting in the wings to break down what the JJ watt injury means for the Houston Texans and he'll update us and some of our favorite quarterbacks the pain. Let's go glass half full what did you see this weekend that had you excited and brimming with optimism where do we start so much Scott the forty niners because I always leave things are more impressive when prior to the game it's not supposed to look that way so we a significant professional money come in on Carolina so it makes the win even more impressive to me personally because I just feel like they exceeded expectation and I managed and I think we both did here right to avoid this game now we dead value is certainly on Carolina like numbers wise right when you look at the number got six six and a half earlier in the week like Mason Rudolph was catching that same number in his first start ever on the road so value is I get it but I think we talked Thursday which is like a horrific matchup right Carolina doesn't have left tackle Bosa continues to like full-blown just eat out there I think he's got the highest pressure rate he's on pace to set the highest pressure rate for any rookie in NFL history right now kyle kind of talked about this the one above it average pass defense he played he struggled against earlier in the season which was Jacksonville the forty niners would obviously be even tougher than that he was the most inaccurate quarterback in terms of completion percentage expectation of sixteen percent below expectations the worst so far this week and we saw that at there wasn't very good can't stop the run we talked about that Cohen Short once he went out for the season and there was a big check mark there offensively from what I'm what I'm seeing from the forty niners is is Kyle Shanahan is just ahead of his time with what he's doing even though it's very basic right it's I think he's in this concerts jokingly kind of the real inventor of the exotic smashmouth right the ball is just like spread around there's all these interchangeable parts wide receivers are getting handoffs but like at its core it's very simple offense and I think the scary part here todd is like you look or seven and no right now in the NFC but they're without their left tackle there without the right tackle there without their versatile full-back call us check and I think I could wrong about this and it's probably not worth the money was paid but I feel like Jimmy G. has another gear that we haven't seen yet either which makes this forty-nine seem really scary well and I think some of that's got to be by design if you're Kyle Shanahan why reveal all your cards when you don't have to right now and then there's no doubt that Jimmy G. High profile passing attack is somewhere there I imagine as they can can you to build chemistry with Emmanuel Sanders able to get into the end zone and his forty niners debut it makes his team even scarier and I know pain we don't talk a lot about futures here because guys don't have access turn prices and you Never WanNa do hyperbole but right now when you look at the NFC or the forty niners the team to beat the more complete package outside of experience levels than the New Orleans saints tough to you obviously love with the saints are doing especially defensively that front seven has really taken another step I do feel like whoever gets home field advantage because the saints home field advantage so massive you'd give the you'd leaned that way with ever team had home field advantage certainly the games get a little bit tougher here in the next few weeks off for the forty niners so we'll see what they're made of but man ah X. still kind of leaned saints especially if they were the team that got home field advantage going to be interesting NFC playoff picture definitely a number of teams on their best day more than capable of putting up crooked numbers and more importantly getting stops on the defensive side but aside from the forty niners pain or are there any other teams and our individual performances that really stood out to you Daniel Jones right if you're a giants fan you have to pretty encouraged in whether you could've met seventeen or six I mean that's it's kind of a relevant at this point you know and I liked I saw accuracy wise again delivered a completion percentage five and a half percent greater than expectations four touchdowns no picks and I think that that last part there with the no picks is really impressive when you look at how aggressive he was six most aggressive quarterback in week eight so far obviously two games tonight but of all the quarterbacks that have played so far six most aggressive and the other thing is when you look at how he's doing it right now in general young quarterback he's been pressured a shit ton right forty six percent of its drawbacks pressured on the season most in the NFL among qualifying quarterbacks and he's this young young he hasn't flinched yet so I I really like I think you have to be happy for your giants fan of what the future could be with Daniel Jones so fantastic performance although in a loss did did get back door there so I know a lot of giants backers were happy that was the sharp side again closed five and a half some places so Daniel Jones got the pros money and look good again that he did one ill advised throw cost him dearly early in the game came back up the fumble yeah it was the fumble that probably could have gone I mean you it's a turnover no matter how you slice it but interception fumble just not sure he's doing it to throw but for anybody to watch that game was interesting there was a bad penalty at the tail end of the first half where the giants allegedly rough the ultimate leads the three for the lions and changed the dynamic a little bit in that context wonder if the giants would have actually had a chance to win that game outright if things had played differently but for alliance do nothing but bad luck I guess they wrote a break or two in that extra appointments made things a little wonky to some of the decision making it the nail to me how to chase a two and it's one of those things where you just start chasing points and you open that Pandora's box and if you don't convert things continue to create that downward spiral but a good performance from Daniel Jones you mentioned his second career game over three hundred yards four touchdowns then a nice job against a depleted lions secondary with the good I want to add one other into it of course it was in a losing effort Mike Evans yet again puts up Gargantuan numbers eleven catches hundred ninety eight yards and two touchdowns but one of those things that I'm not quite sure why the bucks don't look for Evans and crunch time when he was the stat stuffer all game long and the titans apparently had no answer in their secondary starting to get doubled a little bit dried movement of the slot to get them open and got doubled again so you know he had forty four percent of the buccaneers area are gesture die but obviously not enough however no you want to praise him and you probably didn't turn on the game quick enough but he did have the bad drop on the opening drive in the end zone the bucks were forced to settle for three instead of seven I did I did see that drop bring it up I do want to ask you about that when you throw through a little bit of congestion I know Matt Melons in your hands catch the ball all right so I wanted to find out so you your opinion is now well documented around Mike Evans if you're going to be elite God damn elite all right so that that's where I'm going with it was just really annoying game not going to complain right side wrong result and you go into halftime with the two hundred fifteen yards seventy one yard edge you trail that's a problem and then I thought we were gold right you fight your way back you blow you get up six late in the third quarter and then you know you hope officials can do their job good for Devon white by the way rookie did a fantastic job there sniff out fake laid to feel them out it was like a WWF and I believe they're wwe now but I'm old so wwf like a clothesline he just sent the snapper into orbit there in the all clearly comes out its return for a touchdown of course they blow their whistle so you can't you can't review it and it was a turnover on downs anyways because it was fourth down so said of a seven air when bucks up three with under Ford ago we were still down four in the problem is that you know you're not gonna your situation where it's four down territory or not kicking field goal to cover the spread for the good guys chase kicked to feel go forty eight yarder right through the UPRIGHTS two minutes to go get outta dodge with a one point loss single text bruce and eh lepers no team bet the board it's all about covering the number not winning games outraged good guy might have done it now if the good come the bad and this one is tough for me to kind of put down pain because I think they were very good for three quarters but it's the kind of game that you have to win on the road you're at the tail end of it's been a mammoth road trip the Oakland raiders finishing the game against Houston Texans were nearly two yards per play better as far as net is concerned and you look they did give up some penalty yards and everything else they had the football a lot less but they had an excellent chance to win the game on the road they outscored in the fourth quarter and to Shawn Watts and make some let real place to get the Texans the outright victory Deshaun Watson in Hopkins it's like the Russell Wilson Lockwood combination those two geysers like carrying goddamn franchise right now because Bill Brian is just continues to be a mess anyways I hate being singular play guy but you're one and you have a chance to kind of I don't WanNa say ice the game with your offense but certainly go up eight or if you decided to be a savage go for the to to put it up nine and there is a plan like second and six from the Houston twenty four in Gruden calls a run play and you'll lose a yard and now you're backed up to third wall and then you Veasley incomplete there and and you settle for a field goal only go for I love Josh Jacobs but the Texans Defense is superior against the run than it is pass in the Texans secondary isn't link absolute shambles with injuries right and they were down another starter who got injured in the game and as an offense you got tyrone Williams back and Jones who you trade four finally like kind of got into the fold now that he understands the offense after you were healthy as you've been at receiver like virtually all season attack the weakness man put it in the air instead then do that in that one specific drive could've put him up potentially two scores if they'd went for two and you rely on your defense against Watson and you got burn so to me there is some some mismanagement there was some playcalling late in that game as you kind of alluded to but they did blow sure well you mentioned mismanagement pain and it's funny you use such a word choice where do we want to go to Chicago bears and how they handled their performance against the chargers so I didn't watch the game because I couldn't dedicate enough time to it I'm GonNa go back and actually watch today it's one of those games that was really intriguing to me because guys that uh yeah I work with love the charger so much and they with the chargers plus four and a half and plus four I didn't see it so when there's games that's where my guys like adamant that this is the side and I don't see it myself on my I gotTa really pay close attention to this and because I have add I can't do that with like watching games so two one on and watch today but as I'm like tracking the play by play and now that I'm like looking at the data we just download it charges were not decide and we had this debate all week long and you may see something different but the charges were not decide but I'll let you share what you saw from the data I mean I'm just looking at just like two hundred and thirty one total yards of offense in the year two thousand nineteen on the road and you're only getting what would have been like three point two closing number I don it doesn't look like just by all the data that that was the right side
"emmanuel sanders" Discussed on Niners Nation
"This week we have got David Newman breaking down the Emmanuel Sanders trade we have got Denton Day returning for a second stint here to review that puddle in Washington and we wrap it up with Billy Marshall from cat scratch reader to preview the game against Carolina let's go welcome to this week's edition of the niners nation dot com better rivals podcast my name is Oscar up ratio and this week we are sliding into the sixth consent win Wednesday this marks the better rivals three hundred show and with me this week to celebrate number three hundred David Newman Holy Shit I didn't realize it was three hundred Dan I don't know you pulled me away from Toledo Ball state and so it's good to know that it's at least four a milestone episode here you know yeah it is a milestone episode the loyal listeners WanNa know where you're at because it sounds like you are in a super dark hole with no lights where they lock you into make you watch Toledo because the only reason that you should be watching Toledo is if they've locked and put you in a clockwork orange type situation hey again I would like to really stress that their windows you know it's not dark ample ample light in here got a new ventilated it's great yeah let's run down though we're going to open the show this week with the rundown because big news Emmanuel Sanders is now a San Francisco Forty Niner us I remind you David the last time the niners traded for Sanders in season they won the super bowl so because of the transit of property and split parts I think that's the thing basically this means that you're GonNa win the Super Bowl right of course I seen no other possible explanations nation there are no flaws in that logic but the niners traded of course third round pick and a fourth round pick received a fifth round pick in return so effectively what it is is it's getting him for a third rump because the the Delta between the niners fourth round pick hopefully later in the fourth round and the broncos fifth round pick earlier in the fifth is probably what you're thinking like ten twelve spots at most baby so it really was like a super sized third round pick right yeah I think when when you just look at Kerley from a value standpoint like only this one trade in isolation especially you compare it to the second round or that he took for New England to get mom's new You know I think I would I would much rather have Emmanuel Sanders just you know equally manuals enters is a better player than Mohammed senior right now and then to pay less effectively to get it so I think from from that perspective it's finding gets its mortis looking now at at the forty niners situation for this upcoming draft and the fact that they basically as of right now after the first round will not pick until round five in I think that's always a little bit concerning I think it banking really hard on something that they were doing last offseason too Arri and is kind of worked out for him this season so you know maybe maybe it will again but it's that kind of banking on development of young players to kind of is opposed to feeling the need to add additional bodies well I've got a first round pick so if anything they might trade back from their first round pick and maybe get some of that mid around Capitol which the the argument that you can make is effectively while they're undefeated right now they are playing very very good football they don't have a ton of a ton of holes too also maybe you don't need as many draft picks if you don't trade down I don't know that I necessarily agree with that argument per se trading for Emmanuel Sanders kind of proves that point but ultimately the Niners do I get a wide receiver that is immediately the best wide receiver on the team like that's a critical piece here there's not a wide receiver the forty niners that is as good as Emmanuel Sanders now he's thirty two years old he's in the final year of his contract and the question that a lot of fans have is where does he play because for the Denver Broncos he's lined up primarily on the outside and about a quarter of his snaps he's lined up in the slot there was one year I think two years ago where a lot about fifty percent of the time fifty five percent of the time but that seemed to be more of the aberration and so that's the question David is where does he play in who snaps does he take away I mean I think he's kind of like it's one of those things that's hard to say because he is just like the he's he's the Shannon Dan like prototypical receiver raise the type of guy that he likes to add in its skies that have some versatility can play in the slot he can play outside you know he's a good route runner we always talk about the it sounds very basic but like the two things that you really need to be able to do to be Shanahan wide receiver is we need to get open and then you need to catch the ball when it's thrown you're right and I think that's effectively what he does he's he's still a good route runner has been has very good hands and Israeli GonNa drop passes and so I think from that perspective you know he fits in as the type of guy that we talked about like with Deebo Samuel Right he can do a little bit of both in so I would expect them to kind of do what they do have a fairly healthy rotation among the group and I think he's GonNa wind up outside right he's GonNa wind up in the slot and they're just gonNa Kinda move those guys around I mean I think it depends on how I think they feel about those other guys in the slot right I think right now that's the thing that they're they've been missing their two guys that they planned on playing predominantly in the slot in entrench Taylor mm Jalen Hurd it obviously been out in plain so I think he could fill that role if they wanted him to but he can kind of do a little bit everything you know when you talk about getting open and catching the ball Emmanuel Sanders. This season has forty three targets thirty receptions all three of those passes were catchable zero drops zero drops for manual sanders the dude has good hands so you know I think when when you're absolutely right I think he plays all over the formation and all over the field because he can play in all the spots I didn't transition into the forty niners offense is going to be quite a bit simpler because he does play for rich gorilla right now who has lifted the Shanahan offense but not the playcalling or its effectiveness now and move that over to Denver so I think you'll be able to slot in pretty easily I do think though that the person who I think's GonNa see the most reduction in snaps is going to be done Pettus I think depot has established himself when he's healthy as being that kind of chain moving die when it's not George kittle you can see the plays at Shannon has designed for not a gimmick role but someone who does really threaten with his speed I think Emmanuel Sanders becomes the the fixture the starting wide receiver that is that everyone else moves Around Dante Pettis is going to be the person who sees the most reduction in snaps and and that really is unfortunate because you know while he has underwent at this year I do think he's still a talented wide receiver who just needs to get reps right and I think you know I think Goodwin probably because right now the forty niners of Ben to this point the season is you're seeing effectively depot pettus in Goodwin depots missed one game in there the other two but has there all relative equals in terms of snaps you know on on the season they are all there three there over two hundred all between two earn two forty right now And so I think yeah you're I I definitely agree that sanders comes in and he should be you know barring maybe week or two at most would but like you said the transition shouldn't be too steep for him coming from a a similar offense hopefully should be able to pick up a lot of the terminal Collagen stuff pretty quickly so I think yeah barring maybe a one or two week buffer they're like once he gets firmly established he should by far the hop snap gutter and then yeah I think Pederson Goodwin if I the big like you said to depots kind of got his roy think he's GonNa get his snaps and that's not going to be impacted too much but it's the other guys that's Pederson Goodwin that are likely to see a reduction now for me this does elevate where I think the forty niners offense can get to and so they haven't had to lean on their passing game too much because games scripts have all been positive orbit completely rained out but I do think that eventually they will get to a game against I mean hell even come against Carolina right but you think about the New Orleans on the schedule you think about Baltimore on the schedule they're going to need to throw the ball eventually and win through the air either because they get down or because they're going to get into some kind of a shootout and I think that this gives them a very viable very good wide receiver because average even despite his Achilles injury yeah I mean he's been ee overall for us this year having a top fifteen guy and when you narrow win on kind of what he does well it looks even better than that so I mean he's a guy that again like all of these Shanahan receiver types like they win in the shorten intermediate area right so if you look at just purely his targets the on the line of scrimmage but under twenty yards he's our fourth grade A. highest grade white outright now so it's basically Chris Godwin Vaughan Adams Yonder and then Emmanuel Sanders in in those kind of short and intermediate targets so yeah he very much is still while playing at a very high level and I think you know he obviously gets to go to a much better situation at least as far as quarterback goes and L. offense of design and and should get more opportunities than what he was getting you know even at at Denver there so yeah I think the fit is great and again is still like you said at the top really is is he is immediately very clearly the best wide receiver on this team and ultimately if he leaves because this is his last year under contract I don't know that it will be the end of the world for the forty niners because of course he's still eligible.
Falcons trade receiver Mohamed Sanu to Patriots
"The falcons have traded Muhammad so new to the patriots for a second round pick in Rapoport reports of the forty Niners were in on the new before he was dealt to New England so San Francisco was traded a third and fifth round pick to Denver for veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and also a fifth

"Dion Lewis, Emmanuel Sanders, Deontay form and drew Brees Royce Freeman to me was Valda. Scaling Duke Johnson. Chris Herndon, Jalen Samuels Dave closes around with Edo Smith. I took Freeman as a handcuffed to Philip Lindsey. So just locking backfield. You took a chance on Edo Smith who could end up being maybe the starter in Atlanta. Spending on the health of freemen. But most likely the number two guy when you look at the running backs in this round Smith being one of them TJ yelled and who's going to be a free agent. Mcguire could be the starter for the jets as he close the season. And then the foreman who finally came back from the Killys injury. But didn't make much of an impact to close the year. Which of these guys excite you the most? I think I'd go with ITO Smith and allies McGuire. I'm concerned that Yanti forms just not ever going to be what he was two years ago. And I kinda I still expect if yelled and gets a feature job, and that would be a huge difference maker. I kind of feel like he's going to go into a third down role somewhere. I think that's exactly what it'll be pegged for now that he's gonna hit free agency. I don't see him being a featured guy eat all of chance we know that there should be some addition by subtraction that backfield and Atlanta, whether they rather they resigned tavern and cut Freeman or keep Freeman and let Coleman walk. So he'll move up the depth chart a little bit. I think he's an excellent around nine pick. Yeah. For sure, you know, he's he's got he's got upside. I wonder what they'll do with Brian Hill to you know, the chance that we see a little bit or the end of the season. But they just keep them as third guy. Sure. I don't see us narrow seven Coleman returns. I think it's Freeman Smith hill..

"But one player that I drafted really late. In fact, he was my last round pick. For my undefeated team. Emmanuel Sanders meal. Sanders got hurt. But before that he was a top five receiver in the NFL and fantasy football production. Incredible. Right. I mean. He's a good player. But he was kind of forgotten about you see was forgotten about Demaria's Thomas. Emmanuel Sanders case. Can we really didn't know how that whole dynamic was going to work new quarterback? You don't want a new quarterback comes in. It's always weird for receiver. Right. So yeah, he really stood out for me. What about you? Yes. He did play well with the new quarterback in case keenum, and all I do agree with that. But I think more the fact is the the Broncos kind of underwhelmed they were they were expected to on that team though that that was probably undrafted ended up being one of the top six or seven running. Teaming Philip Lindsey. I do I think we need to give him credit because that goes one of the best run run invest random x in the NFL fantasy football is I would say I picked Royce Freeman in the middle rounds of a couple of my drafts thinking he was going to be the guy. He killed it. Oregon. The Broncos had a running back vacancy. Royce Freeman was guy who caught the ball ran the ball power. He could do it all but little unknown Philip Lindsey comes out of nowhere steals job away. And he ran away with it pun intended. So. Nice. Yeah. So we gotta give him props. It's funny because the Broncos had a very disappointing season. In fact, just farther coach today in real life in real life. I r L, okay? I make sense you say in real life. Well, you know, I guess fantasy. I how you said that sounds like it's like everything is fake. And nothing really we're in the matrix. Wait are in the matrix. Yes. Worrell way. What's the I don't know? Man. Inception noise domes. So what other players stood out to you as we do kind of our season in Reno. There was a player on a team that has very high draft pick. And did some had a very good offense. Coach offense minded coach. But didn't get the winds, and that's George Kittle. Big time out of nowhere was the fifth round pick in last year draft..

"How you doing? Are you good, man? Good. We we just before you came on. We were talking about Burt Reynolds died in you're probably too young to remember any Burt Reynolds movies. Do you know? Boogie nights. Do you? Remember longest yard probably. Okay. You probably don't remember the first one. But he was in the second one with Adam Sandler. The first one was like in nineteen seventy four. Yeah. I don't know anything about that. No. What you do know about is is playing football. You're a baller Emmanuel Sanders. And we finally got the the regular season kicking off on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. And from what I'm here today. We've got a healthy Denver Broncos football team everybody participated in practice. So you guys are ready to go. Hello. You're cutting out a manual. Gee, sorry about that. Bad cellphone, imagine that. Whatever happened. All right. Caller, saying we may have you're right back to these calls here. We'll see if we can get Emmanuel Sanders back on. You know, what's amazing is that we have so many bad cellphone areas around town. We really do. I mean, you walk you go straight down the street from our office, and you dropped calls at Holly in Bali in Denver's flat. It's not like we're cruising around in the canyons are the foothills or whatever Denver's a flat city, and you know, I don't even get cell phone reception. At my house, I know five minutes from we don't get in our parking lot. Well, that's true. I don't get it in here in the studio. I don't have cell phone coverage, which is so weird. And I have Verizon, and I get it. But I have AT and T. Yeah. So they're trying to get them back for us. We were talking about Burt Reynolds passed away today. Sounds like he had a cardiac arrest eighty two years old. He's been in poor health for quite a long time. Has it looked good? He looked. He looked a little unhealthy pictures. I've seen recently or you know, who does look healthy. Emmanuel Sanders, we got back on the phone Mansour. We got your back. Yeah. Can you guys? Hear me. We got you. Yeah. So I I said that, you know, the the Denver Broncos got a clean a clean Bill of health today every player participated, so you guys are are ready to rock it. You're ready to start the season rock. So it's been a process, but it's been a fun process to interfere in a locker room, just so positive. You know, and you know, today was one of those practices where it was tough, man. Nobody was complaining. Everybody was just looking at the positive outcome of it of working out. You know in this as a tool and being able to finish guys often the fourth quarter. So, you know, I'm excited to get to work. I'm I'm excited but nervous at the same time to see what we to be, you know, but. Do you know that that tears integrate is when it goes a million? It's all I'm looking forward to seeing. We're going to be a lot of people including me are predicting a big year for you. And particular Emmanuel I think with the addition of Cortlandt Sutton, and the Sean Hamilton, I think you're going to do big things this year. I think you're gonna you're gonna have a lot of opportunities to make plays for this team. Yeah. Hopefully, you know, change players and see how things go, you know, at the end of the day. I'm I'm optimistic that wherever figure, you know, I'm excited about the opportunities. All all season. I've had a great training camp. I've had a great preseason. So I just you know, carries over to the regular season in tears of the plays being called. So that I can showcase much talent. So today afraid is was a good start. You know, I feel like the game plan that we have a really good game plan. So be carried over to the game. I don't think we've seen the best case keenum so far in preseason you practice with them every day. Would you agree with that? They're appreciating. We we we we got it says it, you know. Fillet was missiles throated gonna make every single throws. You know? But. Last four has been able to move the ball up and down the field versus Redskins. We definitely did that you. I think going our last seven drives and scored five out of seven times. So that definitely was ill. That's definitely a positive and something we can do it out for. But you know, like, I said we haven't played the whole game yet either. So. I'm looking forward to you guys seeing from greatest because this guy worship, but a works. But you know, every day he wants to be Pro Bowl caliber type player that type of player to lead his team to voice. So I'm here L, you've got all the intangible athleticism. So. It's time to showcase it on a Sunday. You know? Yeah. Even if he's just close to what he was was last year. I think it'll be a big improvement from what we had last season here for the Denver Broncos. And I'm optimistic like you. I'm just like you. I think this chance this team has a chance to be a good team and people are sleeping on the Denver Broncos this year to which I also think is good for you guys. Yeah. You know, NFL network lash Sunday any predictions. Hey, we're gonna win seven games escaped and on air. I say says you've got the pain. I don't really care to talk about proving. What what we're gonna do war talk about what we have. And what I wanted explications. Anything is good to just and just surprised me. I like we've got a good team. We got good positive locker room. We got guys. Bush Bush also doing the right things and taking care of the body a to be good. So as far as you know, the energy just around the silliest great. But you know, we got a game on Sunday. And we're gonna see how it carries over to game because I've been on I've been on. Whole team. And I've been widowed away in the van that you know, we gotta stay strong would have versity strikes versus like this season talking in the fourth quarter games. And we got to be able to push through those which that's that's what we couldn't do. You could not get out of that. So we're gonna advocate. We are Sunday. Yeah. Let's get off to a good start. Get a win on Sunday. Take it week by week and look forward to advance. Thanks for coming on the show. And and good luck Sunday have a good game on. And that's Emmanuel Sanders. Number ten the smooth operator for the Denver Broncos. He is articulate very he's going to have a good career after football on TV he'll becoming for my job soon as he retires TV, Rick. Oh, TV looking. You're right. Handsome. Yeah. Let's make sure we kind of push that direction not to radio. Let's push him into TV. He's going to do. Yeah. He has a lot of charisma and charm. Why would you do radio if you could do TV? That's what I'm saying..
