"Going to play a soft zone against Drew Brees? That is like walking into a playground with a kick me sign taped to your back that I was befuddled. Either game plan on both sides of the ball. And while the execution was lacking as well, Tom braided in play well, some of the books secondary didn't play well. Coaching was there see out of order a little out of order on point? You could not be more on point that is a lucid, intelligent, well thought out. Objection. Freeze completed. Passes to seven different receivers in the first quarter, and we talked to a 10 year NFL vet and former wide receiver Harry Douglas, who played in that division over a long time against those Saints. He said. If you got placed all his own against us, and I'm I'm Emmanuel Sanders or Michael Thomas. I'm coming out or going through you. Look you see in this. What do you say? We're all going to eat tonight on? They didn't ever say everybody got a piece of that Tampa Bay pie, man. Everybody Gee spot on what you said. What she said, because everybody was to blame Coaches players, but you put together that kind of game plan. I don't know what was worse that game plan from Tampa Bay on what Pete Kallen Seattle Seahawks that we weren't prepared for Buffalo is going to do. We were surprised by the AP Cowboy making a judgment once in a while. It's okay to try. It is okay to try something different is something's not working. They didn't try anything different. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on either side of the ball one more thing on that on that game, because we did a lot on that game tonight, obviously, because that was the biggest overreaction. It is an overreaction to hike your leg right now, like a dog on a fire hydrant on Tampa Bay. Of course, that is a also a lot of people today. What sort of booking McFarland going? Well, maybe they aren't, a Super Bowl contender. That is a grotesque overreaction there still a contender. They had an awful night because it has happened to the Saints. It has happened to the Packers. It has happened in just about every team not named Pittsburgh or Kansas City. In the National Football League. "In the NFL this season, just over 50% of games have been decided on one scored coming into this weekend, Drew Brees and the Saints, handing it off again. Out of Carolinas. Final timeout. It's Murray, who gets the Lions game that first down should seal it. Maybe just short, Just a hair short, third down 27 24 Saints. With a minute 35 counting. In the fourth quarter. Aah! Hike breaker for the Carolina Panthers. Both of these teams states obviously have playoff aspirations. They have Super Bowl aspirations. I think both of these teams as they battle for the NFC South have positive takeaways. That despite not having both team's best player, Christian McCaffrey for the Carolina Panthers and Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders for the New Orleans Saints, you've gotta realize Look, we're still playing good. Football quality football without having our best playmakers. It'll be interesting to see when these guys run back into roll back into their offenses. How that will change. The dynamic Saints have called a timeout. They have two remaining won't need a mall. A face third in the yard here at Carolina 36 Yard line, partner. I'm with you. It's been a game of adjustments. It always is in the NFL, but never more so than perhaps in this season of state will be without Michael Thomas. It appears next week as well, right? And certainly without Emmanuel Sanders, who won't be out of the cove in 19 protocol. Either when they go on the road to Chicago to face the bears to start the month of November. This is likely the 14th straight October win for the New Orleans Saints Breeze on the quarterback keeper is gonna get a favorable spot and a first down for the New Orleans Saints with under a minute to play. Saints have not lost a home in the month of October since October of 2010 3 straight wins Now for New Orleans. They will goto foreign, too. And they'll be rooting for the Raiders later this afternoon, who hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. First place would belong to New Orleans if the Bucks lose, and the victory formation is in place for Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. We'll take a knee take away from this, Ben. Well, I think the New Orleans Saints should be encouraged by the distribution. You've got 10 different guys that caught passes today from Drew Brees. Ous. Good as you think that distribution is. I think the Saints team is a little too dependent on Alvin Kamara. He's so dynamic. He's so electric out of the backfield and running the football. He's also dealt with injuries, and so if you lose him what then that would be the struggle for this New Orleans Saints offense, agreed. Carolina,.

Bill Barnwell on NFL Undefeated Teams + Monday Preview

"Bill Barnwell. It is late Sunday night almost midnight, which means it's time for you to make me smarter about the NFL. I'm going to try my best Baba Bill. Barnwell is a senior writer for ESPN host of the Bill Barnwell show and he's procrastinating his deadline to talk to me. So we just watched the saints and the packers on Sunday night football and the saints lost without. Their Star Receiver Michael Thomas. But that did not stop us from getting a whole bunch of touchdowns drew brees and Aaron Rodgers. Each threw for three a piece. But in the end, the packers won the saints lost and they've now lost New Orleans says back to back games for the first time since two thousand, seventeen bill I know you are writing a new piece about drew brees coming off of the two year deal that drew brees signed in the offseason and what we've now seen from him through these first three weeks what did you see in Sunday night's games he regressing improving? What do we have with bruise right now? Okay. So public drew brees definitely improving this is a better performance from him. Me brees was downright bad on Monday night in week two against the raiders before we got to garbage time and breeze didn't do deep very frequently until this game was out of hand but I think the concerns i. have read or have heard about arm strength or how deep is passes typically go they don't really get how reason this offense actually worked. Breezes sort of like. A singles hitter in baseball like Tony Gwynn lagging time where a post player with no range in basketball he's not going to suddenly start throwing deeply. He's Patrick Mahomes at forty one years old breeze has succeeded. Over the last three years while throwing the shortest paths in the League because he's posted the three best single season completion. In NFL history. Now. The good news for the Saints Good News For Saints Fans is that brees was much more accurate on Sunday night it was twenty, nine, thirty, six for two, hundred, eighty, eight yards a lot of that West Alvin Kamara who did a lot of the work but still going to end up thirty six is still better than where brees was. The bad news was just about everything else. The Saints Lost Starters Jared Cook and Andres P to injuries while devante. Adams List Aaron Rodgers threw for two hundred, eighty, three yards and those three touchdowns you mentioned. The saints focused on adding veterans with nicknames Emmanuel Sanders and balcony. Jenkins this off season. But. Sanders hasn't been able to stand out with ankle Thomas Injured and Jenkins has been picked apart in pass coverage including Mercedes Lewis touchdown on Sunday night the attorney for more accurate breeze that was a bright spot. But if the saints continue to struggle with injuries and get disappointing play from their stars, the Orleans is going to need this version of free stick around to have a chance to compete in the NFC. So the packers emerged three no, and that's where a lot of focus the rest of our conversation here on the teams that are now undefeated through three weeks of the NFL season. So bill, let's push deeper into the NFC here because the Chicago Bears Be Chicago bears are somehow three you know and they do it by beating the Falcons thirty to twenty six Chicago was trailing by sixteen head coach. Matt Nagy Decides to pull quarterback Mitch Trubisky in favor of the veteran nick foles mister big bleep nick himself who goes on to throw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. So I have a two part question for you now. Why are the Falcons physically incapable of holding onto a fourth quarter lead and? Secondly, where does this leave the whole quarterback situation in Chicago? Let me answer the second part of that question I. The bears are going to flail by the seat of their pants for the rest of the season I would assume that nick foles is going to start until he struggles and the bears trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter a couple weeks from now, I would point Mitch Trubisky will come in and lead them to victory and the cycle will start the new. Unfortunately I don't have one simple takeaway for our poor friends and Atlantic. Is Different From what we saw in week to as. Much. As the defense was disappointing in this game, the offense really deserves a fair chunk of the blame for what happened scored a touchdown on the opening drive third quarter, and then basically tried to sit on their lead, Matt Ryan and company REPA- total three first downs on their next six is before the bears took the lead back and the only scored one field goal over that time after bisky intercession back running back Brian L. dropped an easy third down conversion which would have put the Falcons and field goal range. Then on the next drive kicker, young coup miss a forty eight yard field goal attempt. I know. I mean let's be fair. The Falcons defense was very bad. I'm not sure the Falcons are gonNA make any drastic changes on Monday morning, but Arthur blank can feel great about seeing this happen. On his seventy eighth birthday and. I believe I'm not mistaken not the only person celebrating birthday on Sunday. Having Birthday Pamela. Day Pablo. Yeah this is a hard way to discover that you share a birthday with the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Bill, which feels like you just cast a pox upon my house.

Is Drew Brees no longer the elite quarterback of the past

"Think it's time to sound the alarms on drew brees who was uncharacteristically erratic with his accuracy yesterday on top of of the week one game where he couldn't move the ball it's definitely too bad back to back weeks for drew brees. But I think this week them not having Michael Thomas out there I mean Alvin Kamara he's still look good but obviously, they need more than just him. He can't just be the Alvin Kamara show out there. So drew brees I. Think. Yeah. You have to be a little concerned at this that we're not seeing what we should be seeing out of him because Derek Carr put up the numbers that drew brees should have last night. It's another game where you know you look at breeze his average depth target is just over five yards, the vast majority, and this was obviously true with Michael Thomas to the vast majority of yardage that he's gaining is coming after the catch it's a different type of quarterback that they have to play around. Like Luke are my son, it became a saints fan a year ago, and my concern was like, well, you kind of jumped on this one a little late in the game had you been born earlier that might have been more profitable for you but he asked last night like is drew brees look so sad and I thought like like on a micro right like on a micro level it's because you're losing to the raiders on Monday night football and you're frustrated but like on a Matra level like the something in the is a breeze. Through me down the stretch like you can kind of get in the is well, you've seen this with Peyton manning to like in that last year and. First of all small sample size. Let's see what happens the true breeze but there are concerning distressing signals out there were seen it on the field and I thought that there was a look in the eyes of drew brees last night that sort of new something's changed here. It's not the end, but something's changed and heap maybe shares a little bit of the concern that we share because he had. You did and he. Does face. It makes me think about retirement. Remember he almost consider retirement. And players always say like once you think about it you're you're already you're already there. What did you see colleen last night? No. The same thing that's US did there was one shot in particular of through breezes face that he just you could see it was written all over his face. It was just pure dejection I. Guess to like He. He looked so sad in the moment time for that Viking funeral just put him on the wooden rafts now and push them out into the Gulf of Mexico start firing those arrows Taylor swift. They've got Winston. I Love Patras tweet where he said, we're like four weeks away from breeze coming down with a mysterious injury and Winston getting a little bit of a test drive. I mean listen that would be wild and I. Think our boy that boy wolf the number one saints fan on. Twitter pointed out that Winston had killer training camp, and and you know we also have, of course chastened Tatum Hill the twenty one, million dollar man who really has not been involved the offense too much through two weeks. Sean Payton is a guy that is if they continue to struggle you imagine it's going to be hard for him not to think about mixing things up or perhaps making a big change, but it still thinks I still feels a little premature especially the Michael Thomas. Out. Emmanuel Sanders had had a bad game yesterday. He's obviously not his straight he's in the. Chakwal Smith. IS THEIR NUMBER ONE RECEIVER So a lot of the states have a lot of work to do both in strategy and play and discipline. And now they got the packers. So that's going to be a games. Look forward to

"For a life without Emmanuel Sanders yeah they probably should be at the core of the problem and all of them they wanted to keep the band together but I just don't think it's possible man oh man well this is what happens you know there's one of the not the New England Patriots and and the Steelers and teams that have been so great for so many years the respected you know what quite frankly to Jennifer the Seahawks right I mean the way they've done it in effect that's you know if indeed there is a draft coming up had you talked about explore that concept of how the Niners could accumulate more draft picks by following that sea hawk plan of trading back in trading back in trading back is that something you thought John Lynch would maybe try to enact I think one of the things that they're going to do is up when they needed another first round pick they can trade down with someone and keep another so that way they can get you know a guy that's a high high quality player one of the top guys in the past earlier today the thirty first think they can trade that back and get more picks for yet more draft capital I think that's really what I had to do that with sports yeah and again we're just hoping at this point there is a draft you know Jenner Jennifer Lee chan NBC sports bay area Jennifer would you come down on the whole garage below Brady stuff it was only every day feels like a year now in this world so but it was only five days ago that Chris Simms came out with his report that the Niners were out on on Tom Brady what did you do with your ear to the ground what did you know in here and how serious do you think it got well I mean I'm greeting card I think really the reason it came out like that was because they did kind of test the market on Barack loans but they can get they ended up doing that for the fourth straight into that but they really were looking for that first round pick and they needed to test the market so I think that's why that kind of came out so really think honestly what listen it's a man's world I mean they get it but big boys world well a woman's world too of course but I mean it's a grown up world where you can't have your sensitive feelings hurt and Jimmy grapple have to come to camp knowing that they might have been shopping around right adding more it would check in the market to see what they can get but yeah I mean I think everybody realizes that it is a business and you know what Tom Brady and his interest in his childhood team one of course I think they understand that you know they have to explore all options whether in a healthcare if they are not it just kind of depends but you know that is the thing that he always did as in the market all right Jennifer we know you got a book in a forty five so thanks for the quick niner hit and a list of the way this is going NFL keeps making news will chase you down another time so thanks for coming on and the great thank you I mean I hi Jennifer Lee chan said thank you Jennifer forty five yeah market she got her wish she run into sounded like it's some non social distancing going on there I thank humor it was all the people read I just re by PSA if couple minutes coming out of batteries I think she's in a smoothie shop or something I'm sure she was doing something essential right have either of you guys speaking of this whole New World everything have either of you guys are culture anybody has has anybody done the curbside pickup for any restaurant yet I haven't done I have not yet like how do they know I'm just curious like how that's gonna work you pull up there's like three other cars really gets my order I don't know it just feels like a weird process and I haven't dipped my toe into it yet probably as you know the first place you'll do it is is leeches on forgot to write down the hill I will write down a roll down there in my PJ's in my sweats ability to probably pull up your Reagan just brought you were doing you know red shirt yeah pizzas with me okay I'll call you later will you please with me or I'll just roll down the window ago I'm a cheese slice mother blank yeah they like what they bring over yeah I haven't done it but you don't honestly guys we've we've you know unlike next door the website the community website people in our community are saying you gotta support these local businesses hold on coast you know question no more fight I agree with that whole heartedly and culture said in my ear you have done a curbside pickup coming in on Monday session I did actually like places in North Beach we're doing it on Monday I've been up there since then but on Monday evening session I had to stop by her work so we could go pick up some stuff she needed to work from home and she ordered a cheeseburger from Rome burgers which is over in the Fillmore how is your own burger I heard about that it borders the city of yeah that's what I heard okay price to anyone yet over there and she had to order the said they were only taking phone online orders okay happens as we walked up and the restaurant was completely close like you couldn't even walk inside to pick up right I came to like them just sort of stood in the doorway with with looking through the glass window sash and a hold up her phone with the order confirmation on it with our name or or order number on it as we were waiting there for five other people came up and placed orders as well and the guy just went in and he would sort of error do you you know one minute or five minutes or whatever and he would just reach around and hand you your bag of food through the door at one point someone try to hit a five dollar tip please I can't take cash cash tips you don't need to make any contacts even he wasn't even like handing it to him he was sending it outside on a table that was right outside the door what people are grabbing it so they're really yeah and what about for the people in the audience and I might be one of those people in call center you might have some interest here but like the herbal enthusiasts let's just say out here in the community are they doing curbside pickup at a local dispensary built yeah the one I was gonna stop by today I think they had an email out that you said they were still open and they were still functional but I don't know that I like I don't know how they would do curbside pickup at least of the one I go to do you know where they still are they still open one of the the central by the state thank god credible incredible feat kidney either that in the light that is the central service "That's the first topic of today's true or false gentleman is PFT live rolls through this Wednesday edition Emmanuel Sanders says he hasn't had contract talks with the forty Niners you do to become a free agent next week true or false Sanders we'll be back with the forty Niners next year Peter what do you got false at receivers are just too cheap in the draft this year and in my opinion the forty Niners have to look to economize at certain places I would rather have Eric Armstead backed Emmanuel Sanders so you mean throw you mean because the it's about I said I I said he will stay I remember I reworded it was clunky the clunky English teacher here now is the fixing words okay I Chris I'm sorry I didn't like the way they wrote it okay yeah I'm sorry right you're lying I did like the way they wrote it okay I didn't like the all right and I'll answer the question on the bottom which is Emmanuel Sanders won't be back with the four I believe that's true I'm staying true to the question but I'm agreeing with Peter who's at fault because the host to some box that okay but I'm saying listen I didn't know now I know why Jon Gruden couldn't stand you were you able to ever call an audible weaver process the idea of things changing on the fly yes anytime with Peter any time I try to seamlessly make a change he slams the brakes on the show and points out to everyone that I made a change what the hell is this what how dare he but most mostly any has no jurisdiction okay you talk about somebody is that when you all you throw this guy a curve ball if I can show you our group text every night all my gosh forget about it okay either way they're not gonna keep Emmanuel Sanders P. all right all the great points the ball said but let's not forget they have a Dante Pettus who they drafted two years ago J. let her do I think they think of the future there and then Peter made the point the draft is very rich with guys as well but they gave up a third a fourth round pick to get him though that's what I know Isaac right right you think if you make that kind of investment in a player you intend to have him around I'm surprised they didn't promptly signed into an extension last year when it was clear that he had the goods so now it has gotten this close to him leaving I agree he's going to be gone the man that's a lot to have given up remind me what the eagles did my when I got golden Tate yeah third round pick right a line they just walk away in free agency and yeah it factors into the compensatory draft pick formula but still you're not getting that three at four back when Emmanuel Sanders on to someone else all right next up Robby Anderson jets receiver says yeah I wanna make sure read this exactly to Chris I don't want to I think you actually doing fine no joke you need to explain to me what the hell fool's gold is what is it tell me they explain that to me as we go here insiders sold it do I did it got here I I would eat a fool's gold basically is like it's phony it's a it's a phony bit of reaches out you know all right is going to make sure and that's why Hey look it's like the New York Giants traded for Leonard Williams and thought they were gonna get a long term solution for their defensive line and that turned out to be fool's gold very it might be fool's gold for David Gettleman as much as it is for Leonard Williams all rights okay what it's all about yeah there's well I haven't even read the question yet you jumped ahead now that are full knows what fools gold is I can get to the question Robby Anderson says he has unfinished business with the jets true or false Robby Anderson is free agency's fools gold now you can answer Chris okay I I'm not gonna say he's free agency's rules gold now I I don't now I mean is he a knuckle head do I like some of the things that I've heard about Robby Anderson and you know what do you get off the field in a few moments you know on the field you know like a few years ago talking about the Pro Bowl as a young player like in a moment you shouldn't be doing it on the sidelines but I do think Hey there's a special skill set with this player you know as we all know it is speed is hard to replicate and Robby Anderson can fly he can fly with the best of them so I don't think he's a guy where you would look at to go he's gonna have a hundred receptions and be the number one target on my team no I think he's more of like a bargain Jones up in Detroit right he's going to be really good a lot of years of eighty and seventy and sixty but I'll be a deep threat is gonna open up a lot of other things in your offense every one of these receivers who were talking about and look this is not this is a lousy free agent crop for wide receivers yeah okay but every single one that you're talking about you can't discuss them in a vacuum because every single one of these guys and and all all give you I'll give you a great example as it pertains to the New York Jets they have the New York Giants late third round pick and if I were the New York Jets I would not prioritize Robby Anderson I would figure that with that pic I got from the giants you know basically a freebie with that pic I got from the giants maybe I'm not waiting till late in the third round or at the beginning of the third round excuse me to take a wide receiver maybe I could take him earlier but that extra pick gives you the luxury to make decisions like that as far as Robby Anderson goes I think he's a good to very good NFL receiver but I'm sorry I am not paying huge money unless I'm the patriots and I have to have a veteran receiver to compete this year Hey if if Brady comes back I'm not paying a premium price for a wide receiver in this year's free agency crop there are just too many low cost for the next four years receivers that you can get in the second and third round this is the by product of all those seven on seven camps all those passes are beyond road at the high school level all those quarterbacks developing receivers are developing as well and you're right well you can pay a guy over four years considerably less than you're gonna pay a guy per year under this free agency model so I agree fools gold or not it's too much to spend when they're gonna be so many great young receivers in the draft all right Robert Griffin the third name has been mentioned in trade talks according to NFL media tour falls Griffin is the perfect backup to Lamar Jackson in Baltimore well the perfect backup I'm gonna say false because look I I think Robert Griffin has a fine backup okay but you're saying is he the perfect backup so in other words if Lamar Jackson is incapacitated in the third game of the year is that the best that we can do for somebody to take over and to go win a Super Bowl for us and and you know maybe he is but I'm not overwhelmed with Robert Griffin the third and in my opinion I think especially with the as a bright on offense if group as they have among the coaches I think they could take a and if if they let him go either in trade or in free agency and I'm the ravens I say give me Jaylen hurts in the third round or eat you don't take a quarterback from this year's crop and and basically use him the way he was Robert Griffin the third and again what what is the what's his cap number Mike about two or two point five million dollars out of them yes two million so it's not prohibitive but I just I don't know if I have as much confidence as many people do in RG three well Peter listen you you make good points there's no doubt about it I think it was like middle of the road you know towards the bottom of the league team I would agree with you but here I'm going to say true I do think he's perfect for for a few reasons an old one I do think RG three is still got talent you know to I would say you know the great thing about a really good back up as well and you can continue to run your offense and not have to change things because all men the backup is you know got that much different of a skill set that our starter or you know just as in this town to now I'm not saying he's Lamar Jackson executive the run like Lamar Jackson but we know we can run at least keep that the right there and then the I think the last reason I say he's perfect it's just because you know it and I understand your Jaylen hurts kind of thoughts and things like that yes there seems to be guys like that all the time but this is a team that's in the Super Bowl window right now and just like we saw with the saints last year I think it's just very important for these type of teams that have a good failsafe plan with a guy like RG three because if things do break down or I will mark Jackson gets hurt you don't want the team to fall off earth because of one injury and that's where I would tend to say yeah see he's he's pretty damn good for their situation right now yeah but here's the thing yeah mere fact in his name has emerged as a possible right trade candidate yeah it tells me that the ravens who tend to be playing four dimensional chess while everyone else is playing checkers when it comes to these matters they know who is the perfect backup to Lamar Jackson and they are going to try to get him in one way to clear the decks is to get someone to take RG three off their hands two million dollars is an extremely attractive figure for somebody would be interested in bringing in RG three but my guess is that the cost of the GM and John Harbaugh the head coach have someone else in mind that they will view as even better than Griffin and I think you got to think about where Lamar Jackson is right now in his career development who's the best backup to help Lamar Jackson get to the next level whatever it is last year didn't go right and maybe this is all focused on winning a playoff game maybe there's another back up out there that they've decided this is gonna be the guy that number one is the right guy to back him up all year long and number two is the right guy to push him to that higher level Peter when it's time to win a playoff game yeah hi Hey you know look I would agree with Chris if I thought that because two million dollars obviously is very reasonable yeah it it's just that I have not been shown at all that that I would trust look at it again I'm I'm just using Jaylen hurts as a you know yeah I got you though I understand so who knows who they like in the draft right my only thing is I just don't know right now if RG three if you handed the reins of this team and he's got a win ten or twelve games and then he's going to take you through the month of January I'm not saying he can't do it I'm just not around him enough to have faith in him to do it yeah it's there and they listen maybe the guy they got is already on the roster maybe they think trace McSorley is that guide to your guys point that they can save some money and so you know throw some more money at a match you diner who whatever it may be the feel improved their team so you know I get it is business and you're you're you're guys points are real I I hear yeah I would I would err on keeping him right now I'm gonna make a completely reckless prediction here that is based on something other than the most obvious dot connecting which means it's like any other day.

Report: NFL will add playoff team to each conference beginning this season

"Says these NFL expanded playoffs is people saying wait what and if I expanded playoffs that's right Adam Schefter Anna no where everybody know this was coming I did notice is common debt the NFL's thinking of expanding the playoffs it is only gonna do it and add a seventeen game which we've heard Richard Sherman among others no they don't want any part of that strongly again once their bodies man I mean it you know so the players are going to vote on this but obviously you know it's all things bargaining and we'll see what they get Emmanuel Sanders played seventeen last year was a big question I have is if this were to go through and then with the new play because because I heard you talking about this today does that mean the new playoff format for number one seed even would include you would have to win three playoff games just to get to those who want to get to buy once he gets a bye you have to the other six teams play three winners emerge in there for shop at the to see now would have to play well card we have that's the change so it's still like the Packers getting a bra they wouldn't they would have they would have to play but that same with that's that that's the interesting thing is the Packers would have not had a bye neither would Kansas city Kansas city whatever to play four games to win a Super gaffe gonna be that one see that's why it's a lot of exchange that's like a quarter of a season rail like that then what what players get in return is an up tick from the forty seven percent of total revenue they're currently guaranteed over the full CBA so that they would go to forty eight percent they get more money what is that going to compromise a level of football two by the tech guy can be like that's already did but that went like you don't you might not be getting the best product because now you talk and seventeen games plus maybe four plus two it's just too already players are gonna sign off on these do what they are we'll see I don't know I don't know about that one the fact is being reported by the likes of a Mike silver and Ian Rapoport in Adam Schefter means we're getting close to his Shafter okay give me some shifter on this we're gonna get more regular season weeks we're gonna get more post season games more wall car action and one of the players get an increase in their percent of the revenue now right now the NFL players get forty seven percent of the current revenue under the terms of the new deal he'll be forty eight percent for sixteen games and forty eight and a half percent for a seventeen game season which means a shift of five billion dollars that's five would that be billion dollars so the players get a lot more money the NFL gets more games to sell which equals more money and basically there's more money for everybody to go around the ever the old phrase everybody has their price there you go you know policy ever made a scene I mean eyes their price and they did that players like no no no no no five billion nine maybe and I'm pretty sure they somebody always talking right the seventeenth game I don't think would be added until the twenty twenty one season but the fourteenth I guess the thirteenth and fourteenth playoff teams could be added as early as this season is that correct I'm not sure twenty twenty one well the the at the current buyers following this season right but they're still talk about adding the playoff format I think they could change with approval but is this good for football the like is this good I wonder it's gonna do like the ultimately the product to be honest I can honestly see load management entering the other that's all they're going to have to the human body can only take so much they might you might see a stud like George killer somebody like sit out a game I wouldn't I would totally understand that you can't expect the human body to survive twenty one an NFL full on from there so few gave you got a win everyone of you place you can't load manage too

What one thing Kyle Shanahan would have done differently in Super Bowl

"Shanahan first public comments post the Super Bowl indicating he thinks the way they ended the first half was one of the reasons why they were up in the in the fourth quarter quote. I think that's one of the reasons why we're up. Ten in the fourth quarter and quote also thinks Jimmy Garoppolo one of the main reasons they got the super bowl quote. Jimmy is one of the main reasons we got the super bowl times by pal shot at hand. I'm telling the first comment obviously defend his quarterback. Doc Look no one's defended. Shane had play calling for the last few days. More than me. I think the criticism of him throwing the ball has been way overblown. But I'm still critical of of how we handle the end of that first half yes. It's why they were up ten but I do believe he should of anticipation that Patrick mahomes against gas line of Defense in the fourth quarter was a bad bad matchup and they should have tried to take the point when their offense and the defense. We're both dominating capital Biracial Shannon. I'm buying this is exactly what you want to hear. The leader is conviction. You don't need him lamenting this loss. Nothing's going to change. Don't keep watching the titanic over and over again as for starting next year. Of course you should. He's not not only was a good game manager but he had the best pass completion last year referring to Emmanuel Sanders. WHO said he's already watched the Super Bowl five or six times and every time? It's like watching the titanic padded down. Frank do you know that feeling by herself. Shanahan year his goal was not to give the ball back at the end of the first half. Let's remember the offensive offensive. Pass interference call. They should have been down there kicking a field goal going ahead by three points. The issue was those two drives after. San Francisco's I'm sorry after the Kansas City scored that was the issue in the fourth quarter. They did not lose a game in the first half. I don't have a problem with it and bob run a CELENA BY I. AM selling the nonsense agenda. Have I remember sitting here thinking Tom. Brady's watching this going for a minute. Forty three time outs give it to me. Give it to me. Every coach in the League was saying. What are you doing Janet? Hey and you're asking. What are you doing Bob? I have to say respectively. I'm selling you. What were you doing with your super bowl? Pick because they never came in. You never made a super bowl pick right here except Francisco within Cisco Forty niners. Here's your deduction Emily Kaplan. I mean this was not blackstone but about as good as you can do it as well. You're here you're super bowl. Pick and we move on fire sale to raptors one nineteen pacers one eighteenth the champs who you can never talk about coming coming back from nineteen down to get the win. They now have won twelve straight if a defending champion warriors team where he teamed one twelfth. You'd be writing love sonnets. In IAMBIC pentameter

"Right now our chat with Chris he covers the San Francisco forty Niners to the Sacramento bee he was in Seattle on Sunday night for the thrilling finish he joins us courtesy of the I guess like Chris how's it going I'm doing well are you guys great great I I would have to imagine that it's been a while twenty four hours for you with the travel up in back to Seattle the game that took place play late on a Sunday night the stakes were clear the forty Niners knew they needed to win a wrap up the coveted number one seed what was the locker room seem like after the game it was it was kind of a a party like atmosphere it was I mean it was clear that that things had died down a little bit by the time the media got in there but you could definitely tell that guys really excited about the result the fact that they clinched really home field advantage and the by some of the veterans particular Joe Staley was was really happy just to finally get that winning feeling again back in Seattle place they obviously hadn't won since two thousand eleven so the live was released excitement that this team hasn't had a bison's week for all the way back in September something housetraining talk a little bit about today Emmanuel Sanders played seventeen regular season games because he didn't get a bye week after coming over be a trade from the Broncos in October so I I think the forty Niners are really going to enjoy this week often and you look at the last five games pretty much all of them have come down to the wire and they've all been really hard fought motional intense game so forty hours will gladly take his breather though they'll get a little bit healthier ahead of that divisional round game January eleventh and and they're feeling pretty good about things work where they stand as the top seed in the

"Forty nine out of forty Niners also love the lines Sanders David Johnson looking he gets to the a couple of highlights their courtesy of fox Emmanuel Sanders good news set to play today for the forty Niners so that is big news if you're Sanders owner go ahead and get him into your line up he had a a productive day a few weeks back and I believe this Thursday night when the forty Niners took on the cardinals just two weeks ago yeah so make sure that Emmanuel Sanders is a locked into your line up as for David Johnson you heard their luck I don't know if you saw the highlights that was going around the interwebs last week but this week actually was not encouraging if you're a David Johnson owner he just does not have the burst and I don't know if it's all related to a back injury but I don't see how you can continue to use him at least at this point if your fantasy owner until he shows you some production and that has not been there for him the last few weeks Kenyan Drake actually looked more explosive last week when he was in the game so if you're a David Johnson owner I think it's finally time to send him to the bench because I just don't feel confident right now until I see something and now it's it's visual to you look at it's not just the box score but you see on tape that he is not the same player that was so dynamic a few years back so David Johnson go ahead and put him on the bench in this game as well for the forty Niners George kill is out so your going to need to find someone else if you're a George kill owner worth mentioning I think that is at least good news for anybody who went in and grab Devo Samuel Sam is been getting a lot of love over the past week because of the production he had on Monday night against the Seahawks I will say though a lot a lot of that was a result of Emmanuel Sanders leaving the game so deep will sit Devo samp Samael while his production was very nice I would say I'm going to temper the enthusiasm about it for this week but I can still see I could still see sneaking him into my line up as a kind of a wide receiver three or flex play this week without kill mouth can I will say one kill returns and Sanders in the line up things might get a little bit more concerning if you're a D. both Samuel owner but right now right in my well he's hot.

"Ball then you're not really at a disadvantage and than the six defensive back this is probably going to be a better path cover guide then then McConnell examined so there's ways that you can wiggle your way around this one but it's gonna be reliant on the rest each hearing a little bit more weight but still that doesn't mean that the death blow by any stretch of the imagination that's a great breakdown of of the modern defense of the way it sets out by even with a a big linebacker middle linebacker going out for you all to circle back real quick David one more question for you before we let you go I this would just about the office I was thinking about the scene in running through sort of the numbers from Thursday night looking at the roster the healthy scratch marquise Goodwin all right now I know that he was out he had some family problems didn't play in the last couple of games but Emmanuel Sanders gets added into this roster he's immediately got this were poor this cohesion would you make a rob Lowe he appears to be sort of the same type of receiver but it up at a higher level the marquise Goodwin is good one still have a role regularly in this office is my question well yeah because he was out with the personal problems I think that he might not have been up to speed with the game Blatter everything on the shore week I think rulings role is in the role of of just an absolute burner he still is very obviously the fastest receiver the forty Niners have in that room and you know Palestinian divide rolled up between outside and inside when it comes to water ski rimfire did the other slot guys and short area quickness is extremely important and I'm outside chanting and as always emphasized that you do need need outside of any ad that would really Joan being six three in Atlanta or you have you know do dead speed and and I think that marquise Goodwin has got that you know you excellent streamlined BV is all all the same Olympian there and in the long jump so so with that I think the forty Niners Democrat to stretch the fences which is so important because they started plugging Emmanuel Sanders in law a lot the first game using the fly half the time that rate of fifty percent of the highest he was on his rookie deal with the Steelers and he's made the you know most of his damage done most of the damage out of the flock that those great catch you were talking about earlier and the great throws did those are all from a small alignment against Arizona and that's you know perfect for Jenny Ropp look if he comes from the other patrons laboratory work slot receivers you so much and the forty Niners need those slot dies the compliment George kill the plight and do good line up anywhere and then if you can add justice burner on outside like marquees good one just around the street pattern stretched neat and well I just make everybody's job easier the domino effect so I think that's kind of the way to the forty Niners are looking at this you put a manual scanners in the slot about thirty three to forty percent of the time making a lot of any working so good hi I'm George he'll be your primary and then out marquise Goodwin be the speaker at and then mouse and the mix and match to create the magic the wants of those three I one week away from the biggest game at Levi's stadium mystery David we appreciate the time and and also you know with the statement hi this is I am such a great stuff for David Lombardi of the athletic I always could break it down with him he's right about you was in the middle linebacker today not the same as it was five ten fifteen twenty years ago fourteen hundred will have to be versatile but so Tim Ryan talks about his football on grass and I did have guys who can play power forward and small forward and center see Eric paschal if you're Golden State Warriors on the other side we'll talk more about the NFL MVP situation is Russell Wilson is a Christian McCaffrey isn't Lamar Jackson will discuss one of those guys could be a problem for the forty Niners in the coming weeks play more coming up Adam Copeland infer mark Willard can be are one of four five and six eighty the sports we.

NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football Betting Picks: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers

"Welcome in to the the board podcast powered by Fox bet week eight Monday night football edition dolphins steelers y'all are pretty excited for which would be a barn burner of a football game I'm your host firm joined by my colleague coast the one the only pain insider lots of enthusiasm I'm trying pain I'm not a premature whistle blower like we saw in Nashville but I still haven't positive mindsets get this thing going believe it you can achieve it and it wasn't the results were looking for either the college or professional football rain six but we persevere we continue to plow ahead and no we have a long season left in front of us so as we do every Monday we'll start the good the bad and the ugly we of course Dr Chow waiting in the wings to break down what the JJ watt injury means for the Houston Texans and he'll update us and some of our favorite quarterbacks the pain. Let's go glass half full what did you see this weekend that had you excited and brimming with optimism where do we start so much Scott the forty niners because I always leave things are more impressive when prior to the game it's not supposed to look that way so we a significant professional money come in on Carolina so it makes the win even more impressive to me personally because I just feel like they exceeded expectation and I managed and I think we both did here right to avoid this game now we dead value is certainly on Carolina like numbers wise right when you look at the number got six six and a half earlier in the week like Mason Rudolph was catching that same number in his first start ever on the road so value is I get it but I think we talked Thursday which is like a horrific matchup right Carolina doesn't have left tackle Bosa continues to like full-blown just eat out there I think he's got the highest pressure rate he's on pace to set the highest pressure rate for any rookie in NFL history right now kyle kind of talked about this the one above it average pass defense he played he struggled against earlier in the season which was Jacksonville the forty niners would obviously be even tougher than that he was the most inaccurate quarterback in terms of completion percentage expectation of sixteen percent below expectations the worst so far this week and we saw that at there wasn't very good can't stop the run we talked about that Cohen Short once he went out for the season and there was a big check mark there offensively from what I'm what I'm seeing from the forty niners is is Kyle Shanahan is just ahead of his time with what he's doing even though it's very basic right it's I think he's in this concerts jokingly kind of the real inventor of the exotic smashmouth right the ball is just like spread around there's all these interchangeable parts wide receivers are getting handoffs but like at its core it's very simple offense and I think the scary part here todd is like you look or seven and no right now in the NFC but they're without their left tackle there without the right tackle there without their versatile full-back call us check and I think I could wrong about this and it's probably not worth the money was paid but I feel like Jimmy G. has another gear that we haven't seen yet either which makes this forty-nine seem really scary well and I think some of that's got to be by design if you're Kyle Shanahan why reveal all your cards when you don't have to right now and then there's no doubt that Jimmy G. High profile passing attack is somewhere there I imagine as they can can you to build chemistry with Emmanuel Sanders able to get into the end zone and his forty niners debut it makes his team even scarier and I know pain we don't talk a lot about futures here because guys don't have access turn prices and you Never WanNa do hyperbole but right now when you look at the NFC or the forty niners the team to beat the more complete package outside of experience levels than the New Orleans saints tough to you obviously love with the saints are doing especially defensively that front seven has really taken another step I do feel like whoever gets home field advantage because the saints home field advantage so massive you'd give the you'd leaned that way with ever team had home field advantage certainly the games get a little bit tougher here in the next few weeks off for the forty niners so we'll see what they're made of but man ah X. still kind of leaned saints especially if they were the team that got home field advantage going to be interesting NFC playoff picture definitely a number of teams on their best day more than capable of putting up crooked numbers and more importantly getting stops on the defensive side but aside from the forty niners pain or are there any other teams and our individual performances that really stood out to you Daniel Jones right if you're a giants fan you have to pretty encouraged in whether you could've met seventeen or six I mean that's it's kind of a relevant at this point you know and I liked I saw accuracy wise again delivered a completion percentage five and a half percent greater than expectations four touchdowns no picks and I think that that last part there with the no picks is really impressive when you look at how aggressive he was six most aggressive quarterback in week eight so far obviously two games tonight but of all the quarterbacks that have played so far six most aggressive and the other thing is when you look at how he's doing it right now in general young quarterback he's been pressured a shit ton right forty six percent of its drawbacks pressured on the season most in the NFL among qualifying quarterbacks and he's this young young he hasn't flinched yet so I I really like I think you have to be happy for your giants fan of what the future could be with Daniel Jones so fantastic performance although in a loss did did get back door there so I know a lot of giants backers were happy that was the sharp side again closed five and a half some places so Daniel Jones got the pros money and look good again that he did one ill advised throw cost him dearly early in the game came back up the fumble yeah it was the fumble that probably could have gone I mean you it's a turnover no matter how you slice it but interception fumble just not sure he's doing it to throw but for anybody to watch that game was interesting there was a bad penalty at the tail end of the first half where the giants allegedly rough the ultimate leads the three for the lions and changed the dynamic a little bit in that context wonder if the giants would have actually had a chance to win that game outright if things had played differently but for alliance do nothing but bad luck I guess they wrote a break or two in that extra appointments made things a little wonky to some of the decision making it the nail to me how to chase a two and it's one of those things where you just start chasing points and you open that Pandora's box and if you don't convert things continue to create that downward spiral but a good performance from Daniel Jones you mentioned his second career game over three hundred yards four touchdowns then a nice job against a depleted lions secondary with the good I want to add one other into it of course it was in a losing effort Mike Evans yet again puts up Gargantuan numbers eleven catches hundred ninety eight yards and two touchdowns but one of those things that I'm not quite sure why the bucks don't look for Evans and crunch time when he was the stat stuffer all game long and the titans apparently had no answer in their secondary starting to get doubled a little bit dried movement of the slot to get them open and got doubled again so you know he had forty four percent of the buccaneers area are gesture die but obviously not enough however no you want to praise him and you probably didn't turn on the game quick enough but he did have the bad drop on the opening drive in the end zone the bucks were forced to settle for three instead of seven I did I did see that drop bring it up I do want to ask you about that when you throw through a little bit of congestion I know Matt Melons in your hands catch the ball all right so I wanted to find out so you your opinion is now well documented around Mike Evans if you're going to be elite God damn elite all right so that that's where I'm going with it was just really annoying game not going to complain right side wrong result and you go into halftime with the two hundred fifteen yards seventy one yard edge you trail that's a problem and then I thought we were gold right you fight your way back you blow you get up six late in the third quarter and then you know you hope officials can do their job good for Devon white by the way rookie did a fantastic job there sniff out fake laid to feel them out it was like a WWF and I believe they're wwe now but I'm old so wwf like a clothesline he just sent the snapper into orbit there in the all clearly comes out its return for a touchdown of course they blow their whistle so you can't you can't review it and it was a turnover on downs anyways because it was fourth down so said of a seven air when bucks up three with under Ford ago we were still down four in the problem is that you know you're not gonna your situation where it's four down territory or not kicking field goal to cover the spread for the good guys chase kicked to feel go forty eight yarder right through the UPRIGHTS two minutes to go get outta dodge with a one point loss single text bruce and eh lepers no team bet the board it's all about covering the number not winning games outraged good guy might have done it now if the good come the bad and this one is tough for me to kind of put down pain because I think they were very good for three quarters but it's the kind of game that you have to win on the road you're at the tail end of it's been a mammoth road trip the Oakland raiders finishing the game against Houston Texans were nearly two yards per play better as far as net is concerned and you look they did give up some penalty yards and everything else they had the football a lot less but they had an excellent chance to win the game on the road they outscored in the fourth quarter and to Shawn Watts and make some let real place to get the Texans the outright victory Deshaun Watson in Hopkins it's like the Russell Wilson Lockwood combination those two geysers like carrying goddamn franchise right now because Bill Brian is just continues to be a mess anyways I hate being singular play guy but you're one and you have a chance to kind of I don't WanNa say ice the game with your offense but certainly go up eight or if you decided to be a savage go for the to to put it up nine and there is a plan like second and six from the Houston twenty four in Gruden calls a run play and you'll lose a yard and now you're backed up to third wall and then you Veasley incomplete there and and you settle for a field goal only go for I love Josh Jacobs but the Texans Defense is superior against the run than it is pass in the Texans secondary isn't link absolute shambles with injuries right and they were down another starter who got injured in the game and as an offense you got tyrone Williams back and Jones who you trade four finally like kind of got into the fold now that he understands the offense after you were healthy as you've been at receiver like virtually all season attack the weakness man put it in the air instead then do that in that one specific drive could've put him up potentially two scores if they'd went for two and you rely on your defense against Watson and you got burn so to me there is some some mismanagement there was some playcalling late in that game as you kind of alluded to but they did blow sure well you mentioned mismanagement pain and it's funny you use such a word choice where do we want to go to Chicago bears and how they handled their performance against the chargers so I didn't watch the game because I couldn't dedicate enough time to it I'm GonNa go back and actually watch today it's one of those games that was really intriguing to me because guys that uh yeah I work with love the charger so much and they with the chargers plus four and a half and plus four I didn't see it so when there's games that's where my guys like adamant that this is the side and I don't see it myself on my I gotTa really pay close attention to this and because I have add I can't do that with like watching games so two one on and watch today but as I'm like tracking the play by play and now that I'm like looking at the data we just download it charges were not decide and we had this debate all week long and you may see something different but the charges were not decide but I'll let you share what you saw from the data I mean I'm just looking at just like two hundred and thirty one total yards of offense in the year two thousand nineteen on the road and you're only getting what would have been like three point two closing number I don it doesn't look like just by all the data that that was the right side

"Of all of this but let's talk about the real world football stuff with Emmanuel Sanders departure that means that Cortland son is now the man something that I have been saying for a few weeks now that Cortland son is the best wide receiver on the Denver Broncos and now he will have a chance to show it because not only is he going to be number one on the depth chart now who's going to step in and be the number two which is another question in and of itself white web site here from Cortland son here's our Cortland son's reaction to the idea that he is now the on question wide receiver one on the Denver Broncos roster let's just open go to work every day I mean nothing's gonna change for me I go to work every single day on up I'll go out there and up my best before when I was the one to fill you know like I said I'm out why was it on the Dutch I didn't matter to me I was about to put my best foot forward and that's what's going to happen right now and he's already gotten a taste of this because especially against Tennessee against Kansas city it was like you there'd secondary such a Hodge podge it looked like per shot Braylon was on a most of the time but who the hell knows with the way that the chief said a patch that together but certainly against the Tennessee Titans you saw Logan Ryan their best corner on Cortland son and that's been going on for a few weeks now so other teams have recognized that Cortland son is the more dangerous threat in the passing game for the Denver Broncos and you sign in that Titans game him on a straight fly route just run right past Logan Ryan and I think that sequence even though we did that didn't get to necessarily show off what he was brought in to do you know ironically enough Cortland son all we heard about him was kind of the red zone threat go up and get a guy with his size and really we haven't seen a lot of that it's not that Cortland son hasn't scored touchdowns but not in that way it's been him on fly routes or him cut into the middle of the field making a guy missin taking into the end zone but from what he was supposed to be coming into the draft to what he is be calm he's got to be one of the better or at least is on track to become one of the better draft stories in John Elway's tenure which we know is a pretty checkered past but still Cortland signed continues to exceed any expectation that anybody had on him and he was very well thought of coming out of by SMU right SMU's way went right because there's a whole manual Sanders thank by coming out of college she was well thought of but more of a of a you know red zone threat go up and get a guy in in he's shown his straight line speed his route running his ability to be effective in the passing game both in the deep passing game and the shore in intermediate passing game so I I think you write this guy and I think you give him the keys so to speak I mean I think the Broncos made the right move now there's some other stuff local waiting underneath the surface here there have been well these aren't even reports this is us straight from John Elway's mouth John Elway I said on a conference call this is his direct quote I think eventually with what happened after the Tennessee game and where we were and what the value we were getting forum we decided it was better the best thing for our team to trade a manual he did not clarify and as of right now no further clarification that I have seen wheels have you seen any clarification from John Elway so this is the the story after the story because this will be asked of the Broncos in the next couple of days weekends not for a few days now so there are going to be Broncos standing at a podium John Elway we'll show his face at some point will it be at a podium I don't know but this question is gonna get asked what exactly happened after the Tennessee Titans game and now is a home game right after tax actually and some of the other local media personalities that may have been there to see if anybody sign anything I mean we knew that Emmanuel Sanders had been pouting I mean it started with the world of stock and it just continued you just you could tell he was frustrated he didn't give the answers that you would hope he would give in press conferences and what we always slap guys on the wrist one way or another you're being too honest you're not being honest enough so I guess a little bit of credit goes to Emmanuel Sanders from a lease being honest and not sugar coating things and hiding his feelings you could tell when he spoke that he was not happy at all in white was he not happy about that is the bigger question is the judge was he just unhappy because he wasn't producing was he on happy because the Broncos were winning was he on happy because the play calling doesn't favor him is the unhappy because of Joe Flacco and I think the answer has to be yes I think he was upset about all those things I believe Emmanuel Sanders wants to win why when the Broncos win and Emmanuel Sanders it's just like Gee golly Gee whiz and kind of down and everyone's asking him why aren't you happy and he says well we still got a big hole to climb out of maybe that was what he said but maybe what he meant was new terrible I hate it and so we'll see if anything comes of this story by Tom yeah that was the interesting comment John Elway made about why they traded Emmanuel Sanders are from the seven one nine Sanders is the man that whole wind to an undefeated team with the defense cornerback and no wide receiver one there goes Kittles numbers for fantasy well will confirm that with Matt Wiley there's no doubt that Emmanuel Sanders landed in a nice spot and I'm sure the Niners given what they gave up are happy to have him because that is I think overall it's fair value but you look at it it is for rental player unless he decides he wants to say in San Francisco so there's no doubt that Emmanuel Sanders whining and whatever he did it that John Elway is alluding to there's no doubt that he won which is unfortunate but look if guys get out of a bad situation they win no matter what white route they take if they're the consummate professional if they're you know the guy a tweeting things out if they go to jail Ramsey row or whatever the case may be if they get out of a bad situation into a good one they win and you hate to see guys rewarded for that kind of behavior but the Broncos are faced with what they're faced with and that's they need draft capital and they were never going to re sign Emmanuel Sanders so like I said at the beginning I think the bigger question there's no doubt in my mind Cortland sons the number one wide receiver on the Broncos he was before this and days John Hamilton step up and help out Cortland son a little bit so and it coverages don't roll completely his way I mean it's one thing to put your best corner on and it's another thing to arrange your entire defense to slow him down can Hamilton who have only seen in fits and spurts this season be able to be a solid enough number two that Cortland Sutton's effectiveness is not completely taken away and we'll see if this Indianapolis secondary has the ability to do that on Sunday five two two nine eight seven two that's five two two X. T. R. A. take your thoughts I see some of them with Cortland satin some about the nuggets we will get to those coming up next here on exports thirteen under its cutting into your exercise time it's stabbing you in the back nine and it's attacking your peace of mind its pain and.

"I we will get to the Steelers story in just a second with Emmanuel Sanders something happened during the break to just threw me off. I don't even understand it. I can't even comprehend it. I'm not even certain it really happened. I'm hoping it didn't. But I think it did. So I love the NC double A tournament. I do I love it like everyone else. But for me, it's really just a bridge to the masters. Put it on the poll is the NC double A tournament a bridge to the masters. Because it is for me. And let me know when you have that Rinaldi pro-, promo ready. Because that's the greatest thing in sports. The single greatest thing is sports. The masters growing up for me was like a religious experience in my house. It really was I'm outta love. It it is the, and it's I think all the guys on this show would agree. The one consistent thing I have said overtime every single day every year is that is my favourite weekend on the sports Cowan there, Chris is that fair, that's hair. It's the one honest thing that you've said probably ROY you've been on the show the longest is that. I I have said that since the day, you met me probably. Yeah. Absolutely. I think it's the first thing ever said the yeah. Right. It's a big deal in my house. I love golf at I love that tournament. And I'm hoping I get to go this year. We'll say and I will play that torn I will play. That course with my father before my father can no longer play any more radical. I don't mean because he's six feet under. I just made my dad's getting hold and he can't really play. I'm guessing like three or four years we're three or four years away from my dad, really not enjoying that experience the way he is supposed to enjoy that experience. But I enjoy more than anything masters week. It. Are you aware of what your son is doing masters weekend? Have you has he discussed this with you? Because he loves it the way I love it. No. What are you doing? All right before we get to what Chris is doing again. I think it happened during the break. I'm not certain it happened. I'm hoping it didn't happen. But if it did we need to fix it. But before I get to that. Here's the greatest thing sports. They arrive here at the masters each on his own with his own swing all driven by the same dream from Patrick read returning from last juice triumph. Rory mcilroy seeking the grand slam. Phil Mickelson wanting a fourth green jacket. I woulds be earn his fifth all part of the field at the masters April eleventh twelfth at three eastern on ESPN use bumps. Yeah. He's. I played it for a reason they make you feel bad about what you're about to do Greg. You're not aware of what? Because Chris loves the masters the way I loved the masters. We have a great time every year talking about it while it's going on and annoying day. And while it's going on on the show, Chris tell the audience tell your dad what you plan masters weekend. It's a rookie move by me. I plan to trip to Disney with my kid, and my wife, and I didn't realize it until after I planned it, and it's not just the weekends to gots. Right. I'm all I'm as soon as Wednesday. I'm taking off her Orlando. So I'm I'm off on Thursday and Friday. So I'm literally going to be in Disney in Orlando for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and coming back Sunday. So maybe all if I leave early catch the end, but it's a rookie move by me. And I'm I'm not happy about it. Now, we're on budgeting. We love them. Okay. There's ever a bad time to go. But I would say that's the worst time to go. Okay. Never bad time to go..

"Is periodically taking to Twitter. And it's becoming more and more clear that he intends to be an active participant. In the events that that will shape his future. He had a couple of comments yesterday re tweeted some messages took aim at former teammate Emmanuel Sanders had a response for Bruce Arians. Bruce Arians recently said that there's a little too much diva in Antonio Brown. I think the thing that was the most significant he re tweeted a comment from Dwight Miller ninety five who said, hey, a B eighty four you said the other day that you're waiting by your phone could you verify that by returning art Rooney's, call regards hashtag Steelers nation Brown said in re tweeting that message, clearly they feel indifferent. About me seeing all these reports. The big interview is coming watching my teammates fans and organization show me how they really feel. Stay woke at doesn't sound like a guy who's looking to mend fences. That sounds like a guy who's looking to burn bridges. That sounds like a guy who is ready to pack up and leave. He took issue with Bruce Arians comments by saying he didn't draft me. He drafted Emmanuel Sanders. Well, he didn't draft either guy, but he was on the coaching staff on both guys Rives. So that one doesn't make any sense. And then he Brown. Goes off on a tangent. In the same tweet about Sanders saying same guy who missed rehab to go on networks to talk about me on a situation. He has zero clue then it's back to areas now wears kangol hats and glasses. But I'm a diva done seen it all then we say, then they say, we're friends stop lying. So Brown's ready to mix it up. Emmanuel Sanders had something to say to Antonio Brown. I mean, he engaged him. Let me find that stats. You don't have that handy. Do you manual Sanders? I had that window open right in the sheets Sanders said sheets. Go ahead. You know, damn, well, I didn't travel to L A to talk on NFL network about you about your family your trip in yo I went to be analysts in which you act and foolish was the topic. And I gave my analytical opinion, get off the gas. Yo you did it to yourself. You're not very hip debts. He didn't say to talk about your family to talk about you, FAM. That's the lingo fam-. I don't like your family like fam- shorthand for family. Like, hey, we're all family here. Look, I'm thirty four. Now, I'm I'm just an old dad. Art, Rooney the second talking again yesterday to the Pittsburgh post gazette. I guess is it going to be a weekly thing. No trade talks regarding Antonio Brown of happened yet. A door was left open for a reconciliation. But there are quote, not many signs out there. That's going to happen. Yeah. Just look at Antonio Brown's Twitter page. That would be all the sides. You would need that there's going to be no reconciliation. There's also in the short term apparently not going to be a new contract for Mike Tomlin coach of the Steelers Rooney said yesterday that they'll cross that bridge when they come to it. Maybe we're getting to the point where that healthy fear of being held accountable with your job is going to creep into Pittsburgh. I have said this multiple times since the season ended. It is not healthy for an NFL team to remove the potential looming vague threat of termination from the table. That has to be there. It's there for every player. They'll get ready of in a heartbeat. If you're not doing your job or they find somebody else they think can do the job better best interests to the team. That's in the best interest of the team. Sorry, sorry. Yeah. All you've played here for ten years, and you've built a family here in Pittsburgh. And you have strong ties to the community, and you're still a very talented player. But you know, what we think this guy who is younger and cheaper is just a little bit better than you're actually he's he's actually a little bit worse than you. But we think we're going to get more bang for our buck, so pack up your stuff and get out of here. They do that all the time with players. Sorry now, holding up your end of the bargain. See you later nameless. Faceless robots. Rip the name off the back of the jersey. Sorry, pal. You're not getting done. See you later. They really do treat the players like property. They really do. And I can see how you slide into that mindset. I'm not saying, it's right. But if you would have a personal attachment to every player, whoever passes through the building, you you would you would be depressed ninety percent of the time because you're costly telling these guys to pack up and leave you have to best interest in a team well that same dynamic, although not as immediate, and except in Cleveland, not as frequent you have to have a coach who was thinking. I could be the one who was let go in the best interest of the team. And the Steelers clinging to this. This notion that they never fire coaches. They've allowed it to become part of their identity. Why why? If you do that, you're eventually going to have a coach who thinks he's untouchable. Oh, they're not fire me why? But they never fire coaches or maybe you should be fired. Yeah. But they never fire coaches. So I'm fine. I'm not saying Tomlin should be fired. But I think Tomlin should be operating under the same fear of being fired that every other coach operates under. I guess except for Mike McCarthy for a few years and Green Bay because there isn't an owner who could wake up one day and fire him like Jerry Jones can Jerry Jerry Jones wanting to commit the Jason Garrett after taking the team to the final eight. We started that up last night. I finally wrote that last night. I it's one thing to say it on the show. It's another thing for me to put it in writing for people to read, but the more I think about it. I think that you know, Jerry Jones the guy who always hold his options. Open you hold it. Open with players you hold it. Open with coaches. And the Steelers maybe sliding toward that point where they're gonna start holding their options open because they may be starting to realize that you have to have that fear. You have to have that sense. That there may be some sort of potential consequence for having a grossly undisciplined team. So I don't know how this is all going to play out. But I don't see Antonio Brown back with the Steelers next season. The question become where does he go? Does. He go to the forty Niners is somebody else who steps into the fray here. How many teams can they get to the table to bid for Antonio Brown? That's what they're trying to set up and Brown's got to be concerned about making himself on attracted to a new team. Because if you go scorched earth on the way out of Pittsburgh, whoever acquires you does. So with the understanding that they may be next. If he gets unhappy if he becomes disgruntled in a new town, and it's ending then he's going to he's going to set fire to the bridge on his way out the door. That makes them unattractive. He's becoming what Tara loans was back in two thousand five. We looked yesterday. A spot with Carol Owens. He's doing some sort of a media tour for product next Friday, initially. It's like, well, you know, he's in the hall of fame. What can you really talk about? What can you really add anything? You know, what here's what he can add. We can talk to him about two thousand five we can talk to them about Antonio Brown. What advice would you have for Tonio Brown? What would you say to him? Would he say go ahead? And dig in get what's yours. Do what you want to get out of Pittsburgh. Or would you say, you know, what you may be creating problems for yourself that are manifest themselves in a decade or so when you're trying to get into the hall of fame. Because that's what's happening. This is going to be held against him later. If he continues down this path..

"But one player that I drafted really late. In fact, he was my last round pick. For my undefeated team. Emmanuel Sanders meal. Sanders got hurt. But before that he was a top five receiver in the NFL and fantasy football production. Incredible. Right. I mean. He's a good player. But he was kind of forgotten about you see was forgotten about Demaria's Thomas. Emmanuel Sanders case. Can we really didn't know how that whole dynamic was going to work new quarterback? You don't want a new quarterback comes in. It's always weird for receiver. Right. So yeah, he really stood out for me. What about you? Yes. He did play well with the new quarterback in case keenum, and all I do agree with that. But I think more the fact is the the Broncos kind of underwhelmed they were they were expected to on that team though that that was probably undrafted ended up being one of the top six or seven running. Teaming Philip Lindsey. I do I think we need to give him credit because that goes one of the best run run invest random x in the NFL fantasy football is I would say I picked Royce Freeman in the middle rounds of a couple of my drafts thinking he was going to be the guy. He killed it. Oregon. The Broncos had a running back vacancy. Royce Freeman was guy who caught the ball ran the ball power. He could do it all but little unknown Philip Lindsey comes out of nowhere steals job away. And he ran away with it pun intended. So. Nice. Yeah. So we gotta give him props. It's funny because the Broncos had a very disappointing season. In fact, just farther coach today in real life in real life. I r L, okay? I make sense you say in real life. Well, you know, I guess fantasy. I how you said that sounds like it's like everything is fake. And nothing really we're in the matrix. Wait are in the matrix. Yes. Worrell way. What's the I don't know? Man. Inception noise domes. So what other players stood out to you as we do kind of our season in Reno. There was a player on a team that has very high draft pick. And did some had a very good offense. Coach offense minded coach. But didn't get the winds, and that's George Kittle. Big time out of nowhere was the fifth round pick in last year draft..

"And I think if anybody was asked with all due respect to our first guest of this hour, Emmanuel Sanders of the five and six Broncos and Marcus mariota the five and six Texans. The colts are the team that I think everybody believes could go on this run make the playoffs as the sixty. And cause a big time problems for wherever winds up being the three seed, unless of course, it's New England. Because you know, they, you know, that's the way they roll it home, right? Certainly against Andrew lock Perry. Bought you've got Baker Mayfield potentially throwing his hat in miss ring at four six one. 'cause they are in the hunt. Peripherally in. Yes, that's in parentheses say that five times fast can't do it. So I can't wait to see this play out the next five games. The next five weeks are going to just be so much fun from week baker's dozen two weeks seventeen. That's I down. All right. Second down here in my four down segment. Let me tell you what when it all comes down to it. The Jacksonville Jaguars have one answer this off season. Now that they have moved on from Blake Bortles, and they have moved on from Blake Bortles. They're going to do nothing but eat the largest cat hit apparently eaten since Brock Osweiler. And of all time sixteen and a half million bucks. They're going to have to bite that bullet. They're going to they are moving on from Blake Bortles and their answer certainly with all of the cap room. That might be eaten up. Go get teddy Bridgewater. He's not going to cost. You sixty seventy million bucks is agent might try and get that sort of thing. Teddy bridgewater. They should have done that before the jets did it they should have. They should have. Boxed everybody out and gotten teddy Bridgewater, but they were made their bed with Blake Bortles being as Tom Coughlin said he whistle shy of being in the Super Bowl last year. Teddy Bridgewater is the answer that guy would Lennon for net in that area will just will fall in love with them. And Duval county that's your answer this off season. You have one job to do in Jacksonville. And that is get teddy Bridgewater and win football games. I think he'll be dynamite. Jacksonville problem is is going to be a whole bunch of teams in on him. I think. And hopefully teddy Bridgewater gets the spot. He's good people third down. So you remember when like three or four years ago when Peyton Manning was retiring, right and far had left the scene. And there was Brady breeze wasn't being discussed as being a goat. Just yet. And we were hanging on hats on the mats Ryan and Stafford is the future of quarterbacking. Obviously, we know our in Rogers was out there too. Big Ben was getting up in years. We're all wondering wearing in our hands who are the quarterbacks. We can't even fill out. Three jobs, let on sixty four. Well, I'll tell you what I think this year as we're sitting here entering the Semper has proven quarterback play and the future of it in the National Football League is going to be just fine. These are the names of quarterbacks or ages twenty five and under right now Carson Wentz. And Dak Prescott there on the back end. Okay. They're on the high end here. Marcus mariota twenty five years old golf and Trubisky. Twenty four years old. You wanna throw James Winston in there as well. West shore. He's twenty four Mahomes to Shawn Watson Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen Sam darnold. Lamar Jackson is twenty one years old. Same. Josh rosen. I'm telling you folks Baker Mayfield a shown as we mentioned with an eagle in our one would be Fowler and herbstreet worthy. And that's going to be a just plain old plain old Sunday afternoon game that is must watch in my mind. I'm Lovin the and we're even talking about Jimmy G who's out for the season. Right. He's twenty seven. Okay. And he has still we haven't yet to see him bossom quarterback play is going to be. All right. You ready for fourth like fourth down my favorite part of the week..

"You have that sound bite play it right here. This is what Big Ben at of say on his radio show. Then. There were a handful of moments. We all know the interception at the end and the guy who did pick it off from the Broncos was pushed into the end zone buys linemen. Antonio Brown was heading towards the the pylon and big brand said he needed to cut it off flat. James Washington went and leaped for the ball down the right sideline instead of running through it for score when he leaped for the ball. He couldn't maintain the catch throughout the entirety because he just landed so hard on the ground because it was over guy. He's got Randy Fichtner the the offensive coordinator. That's his guy. He said we needed. He they should've thrown at the juju more. Is what Big Ben had to say go back to the same player? I was throwing that you again, you know, I think we should have went to four straight plays. And but you know, third-down was was another run pass option. He did undercut AB. So you know, who knows what would happen? And that's that's why I talked AB AB you have to come flat. You can't drift in the end zone because those undercuts can happen. So what the guy had a chance at our set that ES? I changed. I can't control that guy. Sometimes those things happen. I'm I'm a quarterback clown sling. It I'm you know, you thought about gun free for your about interceptions. I hate doing them that they bother me. But I'm gonna go out and play my game. And and try to help us win football game. So, you know, you talk about guys that that miss a basketball. Right. You miss freeze. You're not they do they stopped shooting. No, they keep shooting because you trust yourself. And he said he's earned the right to criticize publicly. Look, I am never going to be one to say you're giving me too much again. You just start Emmanuel I was just busting his jobs. He can't take it one game. Don't don't give me the one game at a time. And it is right. He'll he could have easily done that. Look, you know that one was on me. And we'll move on. We're good. But it's never ever. It's never his fault. No matter what interception at the end of the game. The linemen blocked the defender into the path of the trying to Antonio Brown right there. Well, he's got to run a better route. You're the quarterback. You're the face of the Pittsburgh Steelers, take some responsibility. Guess what? That's what you get with Big, Ben you've always had it. That's the way it is. How many quarterbacks do you just where you don't get anything? But the high quality play on the field. And there's nothing else. There's no other baggage with there's not many of them. Miss a future football Famer first ballot and two story. But you that's what you get Baker Mayfield right now, you know, what you're going to get with him is him stepping up to the podium insane. My old coach was fake instead of saying whatever happened between me, and he was what happened between me. And let's move on. And you're gonna get this is what you get with everybody. And you got a ride them. I wonder if dealer fans are sick of this guy how sick of him. What do they want? They want Landry Jones in there again. They're they're they're ready for Mason Rudolph now. Hell, no. They might be just like all those Big Ben again. And if you are going to lead to I don't know they locker room confrontation, maybe while you heard anti Emmanuel Sanders say that he would pull him side and say don't do that man wondering if Antonio Brown's gonna do that himself this week. I have no ideas, Tom, I'm gonna brand doesn't strike me as the guy to just let that slide. I don't know. Do you think they're gonna lose to the charges because of I think they're gonna charges anyway, I think they're used to a okay? I think they're used to it. That's what you have to take. "He didn't even know he's he's a soup star. He just loves to play place. Bashing vita he believes in these comedy wants to fall he wants to make those plays. And when he makes those plays. He's gonna let you know. He he's coming back for more. So I like to play with guys like that. Because I play guys on the ladder that didn't want the ball. What kind of of until you know, to have to bring that energy to our offense man is deathly is fun to watch. What to be a part of? And you know, hopefully continues to do that. Because there's no man he's going to be. He's a special player. I knew that. He was the real deal. Emmanuel when. When Terrell Davis had short, take my number thirty. I mean that that meant something. And now he's in the mice so loop. So. Like, you know, right there, and he kinda gets in terms of being troop Bracco. Like, I say Colorado native is is he the only player you've ever played with Emmanuel you're on your ninth season. Now is the only player you've played with who lives in his parent's basement. Yeah. Yeah. For sure for sure that's the part time. I heard that. When I heard man, people are are red crazy with that. Use you buy the alleged today like. He didn't get what I was saying. But they alleged once everybody finds out that you still live your parents basement and playing in the NFL. So I actually also more Instagram where people are starting to get hold of. It is forty. It's pretty cool. So von doesn't have an extra room and that mansion with his club and everything he doesn't have do that. Yeah. I mean, the guy that I think he doesn't care. He wants to be a wants to be fair. Plus, he's crushing it. He really is. You are about a hundred days Chaib or thirty second birthday. Do you know how many players in the NFL right now this year over the age of thirty eight hundred receiving yards? Do you know how many there are? Over the age of thirty over the age of thirty over eight hundred receiving yards guests that number. That's it. It is you know, just know me. Well, AB twenty nine he's not yet. The big three. Oh, bud. Wow. I love it. I love it. What how to what do you all this? There's this resilience is one that wanna go out and make plays and wanna go out and case greatness. And that's what I'm chasing every day. I wake up, and I tell myself chase my goals, and my dreams, and if it was good as be healthy in this position and making those plays and doing that, you know, still had a high level at my age, even though you know, I still feel young. It's so in here that man, that's good to know actually Tonio is thirty. It's over the age of thirty anybody who's thirty one or older, you're the you're the only member of that club right now love it. I love it lets people going get two thousand now. All right. Well, look, it was great senior at the NFL network. And and hopefully, we'll get you back. I mean, you guys are you openly talking playoffs in that locker room right now. On one game at a time. Now, you know, you know, having spent time with the microphone on your lapel like me that the one game at a time response is not acceptable. It is. Today, we see schedule on we see that we could potentially go ten and six but at the same time, it's not bad willing visit this weekend. So you know, I gotta keep these guys focus on the goal the hand. Okay. Very well done. Emmanuel let's chat down the line. Okay. Down. Good ghana. That's Emmanuel Sanders. Broncos wide receiver. I'm telling you that is a bona fide a list NFL analyst when he wants to be. He's really really really good at it. And in terms of what he had to say about big bend..

"And like I said that's a hall of fame player may made a lot of plays his first organization. He's Katina bake a lot of plays. And so I'm happy. Okay. And so while while you've got your 'paparazzi hat on. And again, like I told you on the set, and I said on the air you've got you've got the chops to do those. Once you're done you wanna stop playing football. What did you and maybe some of your teammates think of Baker Mayfield extending the arm and not given the the the bro hug to Hugh Jackson. And then when asked why was actually point blank honest about it from the podium afterwards? Baker may still as as as a quarterback. I don't really watch film guy that they played against daddy bed. That's specif- layer of rows lucky to have bad. But you know Baker. I you know, I understand kinda sorta his emotions, but in understanding how go you gotta understand it. You know, you had to do what's best for him and his family as well. This is the NFL, you know, at the end of the day this guy job yet. He has a family. He gotta take care of you. Gotta take care of himself. He don't want to sit out not make any money. So he had to make the best decision for himself. And and sometimes in this week. That's the nature of the business. You have to make the best decision for you. When when a team let you go or team bed what to pay you in? So that's the nature of the business. This is in college football is is not one of those. I feel like even Baker obviously, you know, he knows that now. And if he doesn't, you know, that's that's just my opinion of of of that of the National Football League. And so you know, coaches go to different teams just like play or go to different teams. You know, what else went to Mary's Texas played a bed say week. I I was telling you I was telling everybody. Okay. You think the may go over there? Like, no, not gonna let you know to Broncos two minute drill their plays and their signals. And of course, he's going to do that. Because he had to do what's best in him style. And go go and play for the Texas and he's trying to win a game. So that's the nature of the NFL. Yeah. Emmanuel Sanders, you're gonna see Baker Mayfield in the Browns in your house a week fifteen Saturday game that looms is looking bigger and bigger with each passing week right now, I mean, and so to me the manual it seems case keenum's in more of a rhythm and all year long that he looks. Like that quarterback. We saw on a magic carpet ride with Minnesota last year over the last couple of weeks. How would you assess that yeah, he's fine and his own. Yeah, I'm happy for him. Because I know all early hours him getting here and all the late night study. And all this study does he's finally starting to get a grasp that offense and grasses playmakers. What are what are weakness is Bill much grabbing him or coming together? And creating some good game plans. I watch a game. And I tell them why refuse coaches said man play looks good at that play Lucia which is reading great plays to get guys opening, and and and Bill Lindsay, and I read it back in the ball and tell them and all line in which nobody really wanted to get to we're gonna be banged up. And he as good man, they're holding strong. We got office around spoiler tackles in one center day that that's a guard. But you know, they're making it work. You know, giving case opportunity to you know, a pocket wide open opportunity to get rid of football. He's doing that. And this kid Philip Lindsay's revelation man, it seems like not only is he just hitting the whole and dominating. But he's hitting people after he's running for ten fifteen twenty yards. And then he's barking. He's wolfing. He's Wolfman after every play a what what's going on with this kid. I love it a lot of people knowing his personality. I'd be east from he's a native Colorado, and he's still saving parents basement. And I tell them all the time you start me..

"Because this is you know, all the all the love for Cortlandt Sutton that was shared a lot of that was due to the schedule opening up and everything win. Emmanuel Sanders way. I mean, Mike was playing against them in an important game. And it was just left right and center win the game was on the line. You know, case keenum was looking to Emmanuel Sanders ended up with eighty six yards. Touchdown twelve targets and the forthcoming schedule. This is why I was we're gonna get into rising star soon. I was going to bring up Philip Lindsey who he's not going to be my rising star. But I just he has totally turned the corner. My mind of being an okay fantasy player to he is a great running back. He's just really great. But their schedule is Cincinnati San Francisco Cleveland Oakland championship. So I I I really like Emmanuel Sanders. Mike. I think that the interesting thing was just the the success of the the Seattle wide receivers. Both Tyler Lockett and David Moore come through with huge huge games Doug Baldwin. He played the he played football. That's about all you can say about in this year. It's just been disarmament, and he's been active. Any hint points per being active league. He's he's still at some points. The problem is the average the other guys also were active. Yeah. May get the ten point. Yeah. That's not a good leading. Format. Julian Edelman had a touchdown t y Hilton again ten targets them for one twenty five found a way to break a big play. And then Dante Pettis Pettus was the the next name. I wanted to see now I don't know where you guys I think CJ Beathard starts next week. And I think fancy owners should be happy about it. I don't think Mullins is back out there. I call Shane Hinton Sambre happy with him. He had a really bad game against the one of the worst defenses in football. You know, you figured he'd come out and have a better game against Tampa Bay. He didn't. So I think CJ about there is gonna start and and don't they Pettus has really. Taking a massive uptick in terms of snaps now really helps him it was in his favor that Markey's Goodwin did not play for personal reasons. Pure are sewn continues to just be old and broken down. But before that it even happened Dante Pettis had taken over and he's a full-time player now. So are you interested in him long-term that Seattle Denver Seattle? No. This was one week. This was a perfect situation from petty. I love pedestal honesty, happy to have him on morale-booster. But no, I mean, you're talking about this was a game in Tampa Bay the best possible matchup where you didn't have guard. Garzon? You didn't have Goodwin Goodwin wasn't missing for an injury. So he should be back. I Pat it was just a cute job hoped. He played them in DFS not much to see their. Hey, Germain curse, Andy. Yeah. Six for sixty six. Oh, no the curse of the curse. The curse the curse? And after that he dropped the had one touchdown. Yeah. He dropped another touchdown that could've taken them off the Mark of the beast. Yeah. Yeah. That's why he dropped it. Faddem Humphries six targets. Touchdown Mike Williams Keenan Allen. They both scored. Mike Williams is up to seven touchdowns on the year. I thought he could get to ten let's see if that happens tyrel was was a questionable..
