"The NHL was going to might be going to Australia because that was back in October of 2022. He broke the news on this bit and chicles podcast and I'm writing an article about it and I need to find out the episode he said this in. So I can appropriately embed that into my article and give RA rear admiral credit for this. But he said he heard the Boston Bruins were one of the teams that were mentioned in going to Australia for these games. So if anybody that listens to spit and chiclets can do me a solid and find out what episode that was so I can get it into this article and publish it. Hopefully today or tomorrow, I would really, really, really appreciate it. I just do not have time to do all this research, but that is a fantastic thing. It's just a way that the league is growing the game worldwide. And believe it or not, I watch hockey year round. Some people say, what do you do during the summer? If you don't watch baseball, football, basketball, whatever. I say, I just find hockey where I can. And I found hockey in Australia. The Australian ice Hockey League is a league that's been going on since 2000, and it harbors some homegrown Australian folks, but also brings in imports to fill out a roster. And the leagues getting bigger and the turnout of hockey players down under is increasingly getting better and better. So I think this is a great way to explore options on growing the game on another continent, especially Australia with one that's growing its hockey culture. And I think it's exciting. So, and Elliott Friedman also mentioned that these games in Australia could happen as soon as 2023, which the year we're in right now, or 2024. So I'm really excited about that and I'm really excited about the idea that if it does happen, I would really want to explore an option to go and cover this. Maybe get some B and G company folk to take the 22 hour flight to Australia and cover something like this. I think that would be amazing. And I'm down for it. So something brewing comes in. And says, Mark, if we wanted to create a mock mock up for merch for somewhere at how should we do that? Heard the blocking gold shop was back up. Yes, sir.

"Too much about him, but from other folks that I have had talkings with that he's pretty good in what would be a solid upgrade, not sure about the price. The Columbus boo jackets are a team that's out of the play way out of the playoff picture. They only have 16 wins in 34 points. So they are, they are going to be rebuilding. So I'm pretty sure if they're going to want a decent package to go the other way to get the services of that Russian defenseman. I'm not saying I wouldn't hate it, but I just think that maybe the price may come a little too much for a team that wants to get several assets back. Jason, what about Nyquist? Elliott Friedman said he's injured, but will be ready for the beginning of the playoffs. And also said teams are interested because it would give them 5.5 in the LTIR space until the playoffs. Not a fan, to be honest with that. Idea, Jason. Just for the fact is that the player is injured. And I'm a chemistry guy. I'm not saying I'm going to blow up a neighborhood with a meth lab or anything like that. But I'm a chemistry guy when it comes to players, the commodity, you know, do this do that outside of the on and off the ice. That's the type of stuff that gets chemistry boiling to a hot level. I don't think that an injured player like Gustav Nyquist comes to Boston in a trade, doesn't play until the beginning of the playoffs. I don't think that's a great sign to the locker room. So I'm out on that one. I like the idea of him and kind of replenishing that that center depth that we're going to be lacking soon with the departures of creation and the departures of bergeron, potentially, but yeah, I don't know about that. I'm not just trading engine players. It's just, it's not good business in my opinion.

"It doesn't really do anything for me. The worse it's you're pretty bringing back the same roster with a worse coach. I don't really know how that moves you need 11. No. It doesn't. It doesn't at all. And now Elliott Friedman had said on his 32 thoughts podcast after a game 6 cup finally said that he was talking about the lightning assistance interviewing for jobs, Jeff halpern and Derrick lalonde. You've mentioned halpern a ton and the past bunch of weeks. You turned a lot of people onto that idea. And Friedman mentioned that he didn't the brews are going to do second round interviews this current week. They could interview those guys, but I don't think they're the overwhelming favorites. That was kind of the vibe he gave. Like they might talk to them, but might not, you know, wouldn't surprise them, but it's not like overwhelming favorites or anything. The tough part is, you know, who also needs a new head coach right now. The Detroit red wings. And you know who runs the detour at red wings? Stevie why? And who do you think hired?.

"Texas is the liberation of the Jews from Egypt, and it is the central story of the Jewish tradition. And as I've said numerous times in various places, I believe that it's based on a historical kernel. I think Richard Elliott Friedman made have gotten this right in his book access. It may have been the levites who left who left Israel. But historic, but the Bible is not a book of history. I don't believe that there were ten plagues and a split sea and 600,000 men, which makes about 2 million people who actually, if there were 2 million people would stretch all the way from Israel to Egypt alone, were liberated from Egypt. And my point in that sermon was not actually to convince people that it didn't happen. My point in that Sherman was to convince people that the historicity of the exodus is not the basis of the faith of the Jewish people. Well, what is the word historicity mean? In other words, the factuality of it. It can be true without being factual. So you're not supposed to read it as facts. Well, I don't read it as fact. I don't read it as a history book. I said, look, I was talking again to a congregation that had many Iranians. I said, you experienced the truth of the excess in your own life. There was a regime that wanted to destroy you and you miraculously escaped before it did. And so a myth is something that may not have happened, but is always happening. And that's what I would say about the exodus story. It's not about whether, in fact, there was a killing of the first born. It's about does God deliver did God deliver the Jews in ancient times? Does God deliver people in modern times? And that's what the issue is, and to me it's much the issue of faith is much deeper than the issue of fact. I wouldn't look to the Torah for my science either. What are the limits of science in terms of what concise not tell us that the Torah can in terms of wisdom. So the historicity, the facts of things, okay. If the tour is much more than that, is it, like you said, myth, myth is not something that happened, but something that has always happening. And so presumably it's interacting with the environment of the day to generate wisdom. So you can live a life by Torah. I don't think you can live a life by biology. You can live a life that is informed by the values of the tradition of Judaism. And those values, by the way, what science does is it contributes.

Nhl players association beef. I don't know if that's going to happen to me. I'm going to try to do that now. He's got thumped foot ankle and knee injuries. elliott friedman had a piece. The other day he noted that the league and the union quote doing their due diligence on the situation and future weapons get five seasons left at a seven point. Eight million dollars cap it but only twelve million and actual cash. So if he were to retire national would be the team. That get fucked on. That cap recaptured thing. Full four point nine million through twenty six if he retires. But i can't imagine happens. I mean i don't see how he doesn't just go on. Ti like pronger survive hosted and so many other guys. And you know just finished. Aaron t- until the the contract runs out. I can't imagine he was going to retire. Leave money on the table but the argument ended up being i. I don't know if it happened. It happened with lewan. Go what happened with. I forget a few of the other names but i will say this. I don't think that longo retired because of injuries. Like if if you're telling me that he's got this laundry list of injuries and he can't play because he physically can't get there. There's gotta be a way to step in and be like. Hey he's not. Because because if nashville ends up getting fucked by this that's bullshit. Well that that's what i think. This whole thing is as far as longo. He he got a job in the organization so they probably you know maybe did something in the back back door. Whatever we're like okay. You might not get all that money but you'll get a job for however many la- however many years i don't know if they can come out and say that type of shit it just seems like it's a story about something that might potentially happen with you know he's got all these injuries he can't play anymore but when these guys are not going to voluntarily retire leave money on the table. Yeah so. I thought this is such a no brainer. Based on the prior ones where. It's like yeah. I'm not retiring. Everyone knows not gonna play again. But i'm not trying to get that money. That's that's what i don't really. I mean well again. I think it's almost like a preemptive story type thing like this could get ugly but it might not know it was in the list of what do you call it topics but today. I don't think these pretty share web of that him and pronger going to be the most dominant pairing in. Nhl history hosa. Dad sued long. Rs air alumni team is going to be like a lightning. Fuck another canadians note. I head coach dom dot com signed a three year extension. No surprise there are after his impressive showing in the playoffs this year. So he'll be behind the cabs bench for the next few years and a very busy month for the shells gonna continue next week in the nhl. Entry draft happens after the expansion draft show still got a lot of stuff and then of course free agency at the end of the months-old still quite a bit of stuff to get to. Let's see boom boom. "You're just hoping he produced a little bit more but you see some of these other contracts around the league that people are just leaving exposed because they know that I mean look at that. Predators would you Shane and Johansson and look at the Sabres with Skinner and and price even I mean just look around the league and the amount of them are all contracts, henrica's. Another like there's so many and I think birth That should be kind of, you know, you can get on swinging for drafting. I've done enough of that. For sure we have certainly kind of beat the horse on that but the one thing that's one of the things we need has been incredibly good at is signing guys, you know and signing guys that are currently on the roster. So that's why it was a pretty standard list of people that you protected and you're not going to lose anything crazy in the, in the draft. So wage. I think again, that's a good thing. That's one thing Sweeney's done, pretty damn well, is that he's not one of these teams who has to expose a bad contract or try to do anything. I mean, look at the, the Andrew Ladd trade. I'll add the 2 seconds and a third for nothing. Just nothing. That's I think that's your someone tweeted today. Actually, or Monday between you know, this trade needs more hype. Like this is hilarious. And it's true, like that. That's something that like hockey, Twitter needs to really just come with all the jokes for sink its teeth. Completely into another interesting, tidbit out there. Right now, Elliott Friedman, reported, lots of expectation boss. Going hard for Ryan Suter, One Source, called him, the Corey Perry of twenty Twenty-One twenty-two, I would expect actually more from sooner than I would have Harry in the sense that I would expect you to be a top-four defenseman, I would not expect him to be a top-six forward. We both are in agreement that they should go for Suitor. It feels like this is maybe going to happen. Yeah, I mean it it makes plenty of sense for the break and I think they're going to be right in the mix of it. You have to factor other guys like or other teams rather, you know, Colorado I've heard what you mean there. They need their own kind of issues right now with with landeskog but I heard like the blues were team in the mix there. But you meant though, the Bruins needs and what they could use on that defense and how sooner if it's kind of their window, especially, you know, it's not like, he's like, I have to pay a premium for, I mean, he's kind of near the end of his his career, but he's still a player that you look at what the Bruins, need a job. Feeding veteran guy, you know, has some offensive Acumen which they need especially at even-strength, you know, the very least, you know, it's we've talked about it before and it's kind of simplifying it but this need a guy that get point shots Thursday, like maybe I don't really have that on their on their team as much as You've Got Talented Playmakers, like the grizzly, got a Mac but usually a guy who can fire and slap shots that, like, you know, you don't have it in your repertoire so dead. Yeah. If you're the Bruins makes plenty of sense, you don't imagine. It's going to break the bank. Like if they sign if the Bruins happened to sign him, you.

"Back to the Bruins beat on C, L & S media. My name is Evan Mera. You have a great day great week, just having a good time, just having a good old summertime. Anyways, this episode had a lot, Ryan and I got into a lot over the Taylor Hall negotiations. What we're hearing what's being said, what's being reported off? We think they should do then we get into Ryan Suter, Elliott Friedman reporting that the Bruins and Suitor are heavily linked by a lot of different people. And you know last week I poke the bear. We both said that we wanted that to happen and now it seems like it's actually coming to fruition. So we get into why that's a good thing and what that holds for the Bruins, what soutter could get, what the market will be like for Suitor. And then we get into the draft, the crack and draft, which I think is The potential to be very interesting. Given the amount of players amount of good players who are available. I think with the Bruins, it's pretty obvious who the crack and we'll pick or, you know, there's two players, I think that that's pretty much a given that they're going to take. But around the league. It's very interesting Carey Price, Mark Giordano, Vladimir Tarasenko. So, we get into that sort of what direction, the crack take, you know, do they go for young guys with potential to they go for win now, and get the best possible player from each each team, regardless of contract. So we get into that previewing, that kind of getting said that which again should be very, very interesting on on how that all plays out. "Don't think that Adams is in a position yet where he's closing the door on on any sort of dynamic. You know, it does have to include a younger player, you know? Are we talking about the prospect we talked about a young NHL player was certainly tied. But a top draft pick being part of the equation. And if it's not a top draft pick if it isn't one of those teams that we've talked about that doesn't have the pick at the Buffalo Sabres would want. Well, then guess what changes. What changes is the quality of the prospect that's coming back where the young NHL player It is Darren Dreger from TSN and some of his comments when he was on with the instigators on Friday. On the Jack Eichel diet. If I didn't mention that I thought I did, but I may have forgotten. Anaheim also has the number three overall pick in this year's draft, which I would assume would be on the table. It was Elliott Friedman, right from SportsCenter has been talking about how the Sabres are anticipating having a second high draft pick in the draft this year and would be like really stoked about all that a couple things from the world of the NBA that I've been watching a lot of the The second round now run of the conference finals. Have you had a chance to see? Among other things, Ben Simmons pass, open an open dunk or pass up an open dunk. No. Heard about it haven't seen it yet. Wild. It's absolutely it's 88 86 3.5 minutes left. The The Sixers are down, too, and he makes a move and passes up a wide open clean look, because Well, I mean, he doesn't shoot. Wow, He's a bet. He's a poor shooter. I know he's about he Sorry, Throw. Sure he's a bad shooter anyway. Right? Perimeter is a bad shooter at every level pretty much and There's I saw, stat. Here you go. Um, he does not want to shoot at all in the fourth quarter In the fourth seven games of the series, there's seven game series. He attempted three shots in the fourth quarter. He won't shoot. Did they just not guard him and basically force him to shoot the ball? If well, he won't shoot it Does. He won't right even when he's open, you won't But the other thing that's kind of fun to watch and you'll get this in the next round is Um Yannis taking free throws all my goodness. The Yeah. Go ahead. I watched the fans counting the other day. The counting now, So Yannis takes a long time. He's got this pre shot routine. And then the ref gives him the ball And then he dribbles and they count. You're supposed to only take a maximum of 10 seconds, So the fans have started counting off the time. And you know the whole arena, 123 and 12. They may be cutting fast. They got the 12 the other day. They got to 12 on every single. Is that right? I only saw one clip of it. Which funny thing about a pre shot routine. If you count every time when he's up there, and he's got this pre shot routine. Pretty soon the counting becomes routine, and the announcers actually kind of made a little bit of equipped like I wonder if it's helping. Because here he is, You know, All right. I've got my three dribbles. I dribble on 246, You know, Take it. All right. Take a breath at eight. Knees, bend at 10 and release it. 12 like the counting could In theory. You think it's help? Help? Hey, it's inner again, right? If all I need is a routine, and every single time I'm up there, the fans make it a routine. It could help. I saw the the one clip I saw. They were definitely counting. They got past 10. The fans did, And then he had an air ball. He happened. It's definitely gonna happen in the next series to like. It will probably be a thing for his career now. Oh, my, Yeah, every game, But every game where the fans are invested, he's going to count when he's up there at the free throw line. Nuts. That's absolutely crazy. Why does it take so long to shoot a free throw? Mental game. I could just speed it up. Now He's playing a mental game. He's trying. He's trying to find a way in theory. If they really want they what I assume if you hit tend the officials, you'd lose the free throw attempt you're supposed to like if they really wanted to crack down on it. It sounds like he is a regular violator of this 12th rule. This version of the 12th. Did you watch any of Montreal Vegas last night? I'm I'm sorry I went I was like, in sleepy world by like 8 30? Probably. But I woke up this morning and I went on Twitter. There are a lot of tweets. Brayton. Did you see out of the game? A lot of people are tweeting about how bad the officiating last night. I'm guessing they did a Swallow the whistle, third period and possibly, I'm going to think it hurt the Canadians. There are a bunch of tweets last night from people from hockey media that I follow. Whether it's Canadians, media or Excuse me, National media and and the tweet was something to who? The man. These officials are awful. If it's a penalty in the first period, why is another penalty in the third period? Or maybe it was over time? I don't know. So I'm guessing, uh, the Canadians felt they got screwed. I've seen a lot of tweets this morning about how there were a lot of uncalled penalties and then some of the penalties that were called were very questionable. I mean, I don't know. It's NHL officiating man. Like what do you expect from these guys? They don't They don't know Half of the things that are supposed to be called anyway. They don't know what boarding is interferences. I haven't known on interferences. I think ever so they know what it is. They just have been told not to call it. Uh, listen, you've been told not to call here. I really don't think that the officials know what interferences in this league they call interference, and sometimes they get it right and other times. It's like that's blatant interference and inches like milk. Carry on. That's why what I'd like to see what how bad some of the Non calls were less. I mean, this is Suzuki Gets pit gets punched right in the face by Brayden McNabb and the official is staring at McNabb punching Suzuki in the pot, and there's no told not to call it right. It reminds me of the how come Ralph Krueger puts Jeff Skinner on the fourth line. The answer is he thinks he's 1/4 liner. That's it like it sounds ridiculous. But, yeah, the officials have been told not to call it unless it's like, really impacts of potential scoring chance, right like a phone. No, not even that. This is part of the parody that the NHL likes. The NHL will do anything for parody. And if that means That a team game stays close because you don't call a penalty. Then they'll do it. If a series stays close, how to keep you know an unskilled team closer to a skilled team. I'm not saying this is Vegas in Montreal, but Mhm will go to any length to keep things closer than they are for the illusion, not the illusion to further create parody. That's why they were against the 3 to 1 Point system, which simply rewards points based on how good you did. They don't want that. They want, you know, So, Yeah. I just think they don't want to call the penalties. But that's why if you're Montreal Yeah, right. You would if you if we look at it and go, you're not as skilled as Vegas. So Montreal, I would assume would want every possible penalty called The very least you keep Vegas off of five on five where they should probably have the advantage over you and you try and get on the power play a little bit more often. So anyway. I mean, it's happened to Edmonton. They lost in the first round, because you know when a peg just chopped Connor McDavid's arms all day, no penalties. How come we didn't score and more on the series? Well, The postseason. We don't call penalties. Yeah. Hey, Before we get to break you want to get up or I guess we could do it after big really doesn't matter. But you've got your 100 holes of golf coming up on Thursday when I do Thursday, 100 holes, another 100 holes of golf. You know, I'm ready for that. Be out there real this week, dude real early. Yeah, yeah. So how far we're gonna I.

"Mhm. A J. Thanks for doing this. We've got to ask you. What is the love of of Caufield and his game come from, Uh, I mean, obviously, I watched him at Wisconsin. I'm obviously a badger myself. And so him growing up in Stevens point in me being a badger and watching their run this year in the Big 10 tournament. And, uh yeah boys just obviously became a caufield fan with how Special. He is as a player. But then in the first round of the playoffs when I saw he wasn't playing, um just sent off a simple little tweets, and I thought series could use a little Caufield. Obviously they were down 02 at the time, and I'm not saying that I'm suits air of any kind or anything, but they've been doing all right sense. J. J. We need a Stanley Cup prediction from you. Oh, come on. Come on. Who's this is this is the sure fire way to make me look like an idiot in about three days when one of the team wins, but I'll give it a go. Why not? I'm on the Caufield trained. They're going to find a way to come back. They're going to find a way to win this series. And this is probably gonna be 100% wrong, But we'll go with coal Caufield over the Islanders for the way way. Uh, you're making fans across Canada, certainly in Montreal. All right. That was JJ Watts. Um Yeah. Call Caufield Van. With he was with David, Amber and Elliot Elliot's going to join us at 11. I've been watching this I mean, You see what on on TV that are on Twitter with his coal car field shirt? Yeah. I mean, pretty cool, Caufield. You gotta feel pretty cool. Like I mean, J. J Watt. I mean, you know, everyone has a J. J. Watt jersey. Yeah, but I mean, I don't know how many how many superstar athletes are walking around with the Caufield jersey any bigger than Well, not yet. Kids well on his way because he's doing some great things in Montreal. I mean, he's making some noise. You know, he obviously he came out of the national development program. And he has scored more goals in a single season than any player in U. S history went to, um You know, Wisconsin badgers and was completely lights out. Did he not win the Hobey Baker and my did I lose my my, my lose my marbles. I think he won the Hobey Baker. This year. And now, obviously with the Montreal Canadians and He's getting it done is not big in stature, but he has got a big heart and he plays that game hard, and he's making the players that he's playing with around him better. He's he's pretty fun to watch. I can't believe the haves took it to the Vegas nights the way they did last night. I I mean, Just when you just you start to think yourself in it. Here's the thing. It's different if the Canadians squeaked out a win carry price stood on his head and the Montreal Canadians won by squeaking by No. They dominated the game. Do you not feel that they were Played exceptionally well, while I went to bed at two. Nothing. I was with my little guy, but they at that point they were they were. I mean, it was to nothing. I didn't feel like when I woke up this morning and check the score. It wasn't like I'm sitting there, saying Before I checked that I thought Montreal definitely won that game. You know, I was I was surprised, Uh, you know, but Las Vegas. They're powerhouse. I mean, there are dirt. When you say that, but looks like much, or all could be in the same boat right now. No. I don't. I don't know. I wouldn't. I don't. I don't know what it is. I mean, is it just, uh is it what? I love watching? Just one team. Is it one you know is that one team shutting down the other team you got? You know, I mean, Mean shutting down the other team. Chris was. We're talking like you said this morning, he was talking about Montreal's defensive zone coverage. And, you know, one of the laziest things you can say is that the only one because of Carrie Price But you know, it's like, um, They didn't didn't win that game because of Carrie Price right there. That was that's part about it. They won because they outworked and out competed and they did what they needed to do. They got up three Nothing and I'm gonna tell you, you get up one. Nothing with Montreal. Montreal gets up one Nothing. They feel comfortable and confident that they can play with that lead and win games, and that's what they did. They scored the first school, Um and they never looked back and they're just sucks against Montreal can't go back to Montreal and play in front of a pact Bell Center. They can only do it in front of 3500 people there, allowing 3500 people use something. If that Oh, my goodness. If you you would not be believe that building Right now in the conference finals that place Would be electric that places electing you've seen game 53 of the regular season. Random night. It's electric. I couldn't imagine what they'd be doing that right now, if they could let him in. Yeah, Look at Long Island. Look at Long Island. The only reason why I want Long Island to advances because of their fans. I mean, talk about a fan base that deserves it. Vegas. I mean, you know the one guy. It was funny. I think Bulldog tweeted something There's show the Vegas fan just in such agony last night after the loss, you know, just, you know, towel over his head, just like Oh, my God. The pain. It's like, Yeah, right. You guys have been in the conference finals. 75% of the of your egg. Someone talked to me three decades from her four decades from now And then then we'll then we'll talk about pain. Right, but that's what makes sports so great and it's it's not Like if you're a Montreal Canadian fan, Okay, then. It's passed down. It's passed down. If you're an Islanders fan, and you and you know you have your own family. You are passing down that love of that team. And what happens usually is a lot of times your your son or your daughter loves that team, and it's It's, uh Something. It's been decades that some teams have not won a Stanley Cup. ER, there's teams that have never won a Stanley Cup. But the passion the fan base, the fans make this tick. That's what I love watching. I just love watching the fans when I played, I'm going to tell you like Fans are everything. Fans are everything. Well, we got to go to break Elliott Friedman coming up and he did tell me that, uh, they are definitely talking and they being Sabres in Anaheim. How extensive. Are those talks? We'll.

"All right. Don't forget Elliott Friedman going to join us at 11 o'clock. We look forward to chatting with him, and we'll have some coach discussion to how much of the, um Pause on Don Granato was due to Rod the bod if they were waiting to see if they could Get their hands on him, but I think he might sign an extension. That sound right, Craig? Yep. Ron, Are you listening? No. So I said, Um one player. Oh, I pulled up his his scouting report. Wanted to read it to you, Craig. Because, you know, we're talking Anaheim Ladies and gentlemen, there's speculation and rumors and rumblings and Anaheim is the team to watch Elliott Friedman on his podcast last week with Jeff Merrick said, Or maybe it was this week. Said, Um, look for Anaheim to do something big Look for the Sabres to possibly get another high first round pick in this year's draft. So Those two teams are those two things. Uh, because Anaheim has number three pick makes sense. But now there's rumblings about Anaheim. And it's heating up so Said. There's one player I'd like to get in the deal. But that's not a deal breaker. But I'd like to get him if we're adding pieces to slot in, and I don't think Anaheim is going to Kick and scream if you ask for him. But let me read you scouting report. Tell me if you think this is something we might be interested in. Has great size goalscoring prowess and the ability to utilize his big frame to keep park possession, finished checks and be physical force has good pedigree instincts and plenty of hockey stick for the highest level is still a bit of an unrefined winger, so we need to continue to work on the Intricacies of the game and fully developed. His all around skills must always be conscious of playing on the edge, but not over it. And the long range potential for this players talented power forward with up size. Upside and his name is Max Jones. Um, he was. He was a first round pick. I think of the year the year that we covered the draft here. In, uh, in Buffalo. Uh, and he's in London and I know someone that coached him said he's a great kid, powerful, powerful player. Remember when Anaheim drafted him they were really excited about getting them. And I think he is exactly what the Sabres need. In the deal. I mean, we can go for all the skill we want. And I love the contour idea. I loves egress. I love number three. And but I think you gotta you gotta put pieces in your lineup that you actually can use for Long term and a little further down your lineup like you Look at how these teams are winning. They're winning with depth. Right, So Max Jones is a player. I think you should keep an eye on and I think he's a player that, uh, I'd like to CBS Saber. If the If the Sabres do send Jack Eichel To to Anaheim. Just just throwing it out there. You don't need much to comment, and I don't expect many people to know much about him. I don't know a ton about him. I just know uh, if you go watch some of his highlights and He's the type of player that you want to see the Sabres get. But If you care to comment. Go ahead. But then yeah. I mean, he's uh, you know, 24th overall pick in the 2016 draft, So he's 23 years old. Little bit more established player. Um you know, big kid, though. 61 £220. He's definitely I remember. I remember him. He's definitely more of a power for for forward. It's like a freight train. Yes, loves to throw the body around highly physical, um and skilled. You know and skilled, but it hasn't translated yet, right? It just has not translated into the NHL. Last year, he had seven goals and 11 11 points in 46 games. You know, so on pace for kind of like, you know, maybe 20 points. Uh, that's great for 1/4 liner. That's great. You look at you look at let Long island you look at the you look at a Matt Martin type production or gyno Cizikas. He can score, but he also killed her book like a Clutterbuck, Physical Sort of Buck. Perfect. Perfect comparison. Yeah, yeah. Like you're telling me you don't want to Clutterbuck know, if absolutely every I need you need three clutter box on your team. Yeah, you know, so anyway, you know, he's certainly an interesting guy. And and and this is this is the exciting thing about this is you know Anaheim when you start to dissect what the possibilities could be Um, there's some interesting pieces there for sure. Yeah, So why are we talking so much about Anaheim? It's in. It's it's in the news. It's being rumored out there. It's on social media. But 11 Oclock guest, Elliott Friedman. I did message him today just kind of asking him. If this is the direction we want to go, and he said they're definitely talking, so he didn't confirm what the pieces where I asked him, he said he's not sure yet. He said. They're definitely talking. And, uh If if I were to say to you, there is a reason why this deal would get done early, Craig or sooner rather than later. I said there was a reason for that. Would you think you know the reason for that? Okay. Say that again asked course again. Sorry. Okay, So I think this deal gets done sooner rather than later. And there's there is one specific reason why, and it might be obvious. But do you know what that reason might be? Um, I would say that people the teams that are trying to acquire Jack Eichel. I would imagine that that some of these teams want To dangle the first Round pick this year. They want that to happen in this year's draft and not in 2022. That's what would be the only thing that would come to mind that teams want to be able to an Anaheim or in L, a kings or a Vancouver Canucks. Uh, you know, Would want to Clemens Blue Jackets would want to use their top 10 pick this year to entice a deal. Good answer, Not what I was thinking about Good answer, because it's interesting that you say that and I'll get to my point in a second, but it's interesting that you say that because you wonder You wonder if the Sabres could be looking if you know and I Could the Sabres not be looking for Anaheim's number three in the deal, but maybe next year's pick?.

"Eichel. Big question these days around these parts. Elliott Friedman from SportsNet. It was on the instigators yesterday here on W. Sharon. He said to the boys that he thinks the Sabres want to move on from Michael, and then he thinks they trade would be done by the draft, which is later next month. Vegas is in the Stanley Cup semifinals. They eliminated Colorado. The Avalanche won the first two games of that series, and then the Golden Knights won the next four. They will now play Montreal that will begin Monday night in Las Vegas Islanders will be in Tampa Sunday afternoon. The start of that series. The finalists for the Hart Trophy have been named Connor McDavid's And like thinking Shane Matthews, Austin Matthews and Nathan McKinnon, the Columbus Blue Jackets that promoted assistant coach Brad Larson to the head coaching position. Milwaukee Beat Brooklyn in the NBA playoffs last night, But the Nets have a 21 lead in the series, huge Utah beat the Clippers and the Jazz are up two games to none. The Bills preseason schedule was announced yesterday. All of the teams had their preseason schedule announced. Play three games at Detroit and Chicago. The one home game will be against the Packers on August 28th and the college football playoff committee will consider expanding the playoff format from four teams to a 12. Team feel they're going to talk about that next week. Yankees lost to Minnesota J is lost to the White Sox and the Bisons split a doubleheader with Grant and those are your paddock. Chevrolet Headlines. Paddock Chevrolet with the extra mile Next update nine o'clock. That's a bunch of have. What was your message? No coach Rivera brought a specialist in to talk to his team to address some of the concerns. I didn't know if that was something you had to do here. The specialists just like you're the masked police. You wear so many different hats very much. Was your message to them. What? We want to go back to normal. Have accident. Get 85% you said was shooting. Everybody's, uh, leading out here. It's an eating outside. Right? Can you do that? You gotta get up. Bruce Arians. Oh, that's that. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, the quote, they basically said You know you need a specialist to talk to the players about the vaccine, he.

"I think everyone here expects this done by the draft. And you would think so too. I would think so. Little blurb there from Elliott Friedman that I didn't catch while listening to his visit with the instigators earlier today, we're here on W. G. R. He thinks so, too, to the comment. Think the ankle trade is done by the NHL draft, which is coming up on but I believe July 23rd so we'll talk plenty more on Friedman's comments. Jack Eichel, that's all coming your way in the next hour or so, Because now with Sal Carpaccio exiting for the day, thanks to him for hopping on with me in Mike shops, stead In Bulldog. Of course, who has made it to South Dakota. They'll be back next week, but Jeremy White now joins me now, Jeremy, How's it going, man? Did I pull you in from outside? I'm sorry if I did that, because it looks It looks beautiful out. It is beautiful out, Joe. I wanna I got the call to maybe help out this hour. I thought, well, that's grilling our and you know that's that's that's crack a cold, one kind of our so You know, the home's setup allows for that to happen. So, uh, happy to join you? I'm in and out of outside it is it is awesome. Out. It is the difference between our shifts. People always ask me in the morning. How do you get up that early? My answer is always right now. No, It's got to be kind of tough, especially in the summer to have you know that late afternoon shift that I think about that when I wake up and I'm tired in the morning. Sometimes you've gotta hustle and you got to get home. You've got to have things ready to go. You know, you've got to have the girlfriend or wife like having things prepared. If you're going to be outside grilling with a beer in your hand. Before the sun goes down like it's got to be within a half hour to 45 minutes of one year when you're out of here for that bar league, softball or volleyball, like you've got a book it to these games. You gotta eat the later window. Yeah. I mean, you guys are making sacrifices. I know, I know. Yeah, but you are getting up at four o'clock in the morning. Whatever you're going, That's also true that there are there are drawbacks. Yeah, we're going to talk Sabres, but, um, I while we're on beer and grilling in such one Don't know if this is a commonly accepted practice. I don't see a lot of people do it. Any experience with the metal Cuzzi. I'm talking about the screw Top. The screw Top metal Cuzzi that keeps the drink cold. Yes, I do. I I can't. I don't think I can ever go back to anything else. I think that's understandable. Like I I've been using it the past couple of weeks for like the first time, maybe a little bit longer than that. And it's a go to now. Yeah. Cuzzi technology has brought us to a place where you know you used to think it captured drink really cold And then, right. We invented them as a as a society and people And I'm like, Oh, well, that's what this one works. Yeah, the metal cause he's a real one. While we're on that you have any experience with the reverse sear. Grow. No, it sounds unbelievable. But I don't reverse sear. I'm It's funny like I did it for the first time a couple weeks ago, I'm seeing it. More and more people are people are doing it. The reverse sear when, when preparing, like a steak or something, or You know what you do is you basically you cook it first at a low temperature, and then you see it as opposed to searing each side, then cut trying to guess is he do it in the opposite order of normally grilling? And, uh, One for one so far converted and that's also the plan tonight. The reverse sear. I'm telling you, it's sweeping Grilling nation or at least we're all catching up to it. I'm not man I need I need to expand my grilling. And even I've been like looking at smokers recently because hearing how you and bulldog talk about Oh, you gotta You gotta come over the dark side. Yeah, especially during football season like it's like, Oh, my God. Like I've got to get in on that absolutely absolutely Start getting Weird with the stuff you want to make you I made for Bill season. This year I made, uh, pulled pork sandwiches with an Alabama white sauce, which had never made one of those before, but thought, Let's try something weird. Tonight. I've got something called a gremolata Never made it. Okay. Never heard of it until today. I've got it. I don't even have any idea of like what it is or what it tastes like, going and dark. That's the funny thing. You make something like that, and they tell you to salt and pepper to taste, And I think I don't even know it's supposed to taste like it's got Lemons and olive oil and mint, and it's like a garnish for okay, so I don't know if it's going to be good. I didn't know if the Alabama white sauce was going to be good, either. You just, you know. You start getting experimental. You start doing weird stuff just because why not? That That is where I want to get too, especially like if I get a smoker and we start going with likes bigger, like more like marinades and steaks and such because I think the The furthest I've gotten so far is like, you know, making your own burgers, you know, stuffing them with with different kinds of stuff, playing around with different marinades for grilled chicken and such. Um, but I think this is the next step for me. So Yeah, There's there's marinades. There's rubs. There's injections. You know you use the injector. There's a lot of stuff that I haven't done Injection way past me in terms of what I've played around with and had success with, but Yeah, it ends up being something to do. Yeah. You know, they're like the pandemic when there wasn't that much to do. This was the thing kind of to do and you know, And if you enjoy it, just, you know, keep doing it. Yeah, Tom, such just tweeted something that I almost just burst out laughing hysterically at that I had to prevent from because it looks beautiful outside by the way from where I'm sitting right now. And he just tweeted. Don't you love it when you go outside and somewhere in the combination of light heat and humidity makes it feel like the air is attacking you. Good stuff. Um, So maybe it's a little hot for me out there because I like it a little cooler. But it is. It is human. I was just I was in California this week, and it was 65 cold. Really breezy. San Francisco, Right? Yeah. San Francisco, Monterey San Jose. That area I always hear it's colder than you think it is. Yeah, it's called You really sweatshirts and Hoodies over sweatshirts because it wild, says 65. It's going to be chilly. Yeah, that golf course by the way. Looked unbelievable. Like the pictures right up there.

Bruins Beat
Sabres Trade Hall to the Bruins for an Underwhelming Return
"Stumps were never super high on Taylor home after a few years in the league which is a viewer Observer thought was crazy but eventually you can't you just can't deny the fact. Again you can disagree with with teams and GM's not thinking that highly of Taylor Hall, but the proof is in the pudding every time he gets moved. So he gets moved for Adam Larson and that's a terrible trade anyway. But but yep. And so everyone's like wow, he got moved for that. Little, when he gets moved to Arizona, it's like, wow, was I forget was, was there not a like, he was a conditional first-round pick up, right? I believe it was right, but so you you're thinking, okay, it's going to be a ton of stuff and it really wasn't a huge huge deal. Then he becomes a free agent and obviously it's in the pandemic and he signs a 1.8 million dollar deal with the Sabres and I you I'm sure everybody is like Bruins what are you doing site? He's one year and eight million dollars to play for the freaking Sabres. Top that everybody should be trying to top it but they weren't then he gets moved at this deadline and Elliott Friedman comes out right after and he said he said since that Paul had to do with it with wanting to go to the Bruins and having to know move, but he's like the interest in Taylor Hall. Just wasn't as high as people thought it was going to be. Again you can disagree with them. But every time he moves, we all say, why is everyone so stupid? Why is that one? Giving up more for this guy but it's happening teams don't like Taylor Hall as much as we do,

Why the NHL hit the pause button on the 2019-20 season, and what comes next
