"Hello, part two of Homer sapiens with Nicola Adams boxer superstar Olympic star and Ella baig her other half body positivity activist and model and many other things. If you haven't heard part one, that's on the feed, listen to that first, simply press play on this here part two if you've heard one or already. What about for you nikla? What was your journey in that regard? Well, mine was completely different to Ella. I mean, I've been pretty much getting my whole life. I can't really think of a time when I wasn't. I literally from like two years old type thing. Yeah, very much. Do you remember who your first crush was? Yeah, it was on my primary school teacher. Difficult. Did they know? No. That's why I'm not mentioning any names. Miss blah blah. Can you help me with my own work? Yeah, it's funny that isn't it, 'cause it's very, so my first crush was and I'm not bisexual, but I was in love with Elisabeth Shue and Tom Cruise in the film cocktail. That's fine. Because everyone was like, oh, you know, the boys were into Elizabeth's shoe and the girls went to Tom Cruise. That's right. And I was like, I kind of love them both. What do I do there? And actually, I was really in love with them as an idea. But I knew I don't think they were I didn't have the interior language for bisexuality. That's for sure. Age, whatever it was. But that was my first crush, and then after that, I don't know, maybe Patrick Swayze and dirty dancing. But when it comes to both of you and kind of being, I suppose I wonder if you feel that you are a visibly queer couple. And is it something you like to be or is it something you have plans to play down or something that you want to sort of take and do something with, where are you at with it all? Yeah, I think that is such a big thing. I know especially among feminine lesbians that we don't look gay. So we get a lot more comments when people find out when people assume very quickly that we're straight whereas you don't have that problem as much. Because your masculine, I mean, the older generation tend to assume everybody's straight. But again, it used to sisters were like looking at each other like really? They don't say that, do they? We've had that with my friends. And then we said we're together and he assumed we were both married, separately. Oh, yeah. Honestly, sometimes you just give up. You're just like, yeah, we're Friends. We're Friends. For the purposes of this conversation, we're Friends. Yeah, it's funny that it's not I'd forgotten that where was I with my husband? And whoever we were with, I feel like it was in a state agent. I'm struggling to remember the detail, but it was very much like there must be otherwise. There must be both of your wives elsewhere and I'm trying to work out where they are and when they're coming. Do you know what I mean? No, this is it. We're here. But I hadn't thought about that, and that's actually really interesting because I am sort of obsessed by the feminine presenting the masculine presenting in all LGBTQ+, you know, and it's like how different versions get different versions of attention. Do you follow that queer black woman, I think she identifies as a woman, Alison Graham, she does him on Instagram. I feel like I recognize the name. She is my obsession because she just breaks down masculine presenting. Lesbians. I'm pretty certain that's what she is an apologies if I'm getting that bit wrong. She says one of these things which is like just because I'm masculine presenting doesn't mean you're going to get other bits of masculinity out of me like hiding my feelings. And I suppose navigating that as a couple, people coming with so many assumptions must be quite tricky or is it? Yeah, definitely. I mean, people are very quick to assume gender roles in general. Right. Interesting. I mean, everyone always goes to immediately talk to you. Like they would the man of the relationship because she's more masculine, whereas I tend to be the one that everyone should be talking to. They're in charge of everything. Nicola would you like to respond to this dragging you're getting? It's true. It's true. It is true. I thought I would. And how do you, how do you divide? And I don't mean in a gendered sense. I just mean, I'm interested in it as a couple. Because I'm like, in my couple, William, if he was listening, would strangle me right now. My husband. But I'm a bit more like the big idea, like we're going in this direction, but William will be like, okay, well, let's think about the detail how are we going to do that? What's the machinations of that? If you want to move, where are we going to move to? How does it break down with you two? Yeah, I think I do the details. Interesting. Ella has the I'm more the expansion. Nikki likes says what she wants. And we'll get all the technical details. And I'm more fill in the gaps. So I'm getting a sense that you've got incredible Wi-Fi in your home then. Oh yeah. Yeah. Really? Are you in it? Nicola, I love it. So you do all that kind of stuff. Who cooks? Oh, so yeah. I haven't been cooking a lot because I actually was really affecting my nausea. Oh, I bet, yeah. The smile of cooking for some reason. I remember Christmas Day. I took the food out and I was just had to go be straight away. It really ruined my dinner. But if cooking needs to be done, Nikki likes to do the prep. And then I would do the cooking, but if you enjoy it a bit more. If you're feeling not well, would Nikola would you then reach for deliveroo or would you still make something even though it's not your neck of the Woods? If there's something easy that I can do, then I'll cook it, if not, yeah, deliver straight away. So I moved to the countryside and I can actually hear Scotty who we interviewed the other day, saying, Chris, it's really boring, stop talking about moving to the countryside. But I'm telling you anyway. And you can't do delivery. You can't do it, and it's really interesting. It forces you to cook. It's like, you eat quite a lot of things on repeat, but yeah, it's really interesting to have that not in your life. Do you know what's so funny? Where we actually have a house in the open hill last year. We didn't have deliveroo and honestly when we went back to the house and I clicked on deliveroo. And it said, it came up with things and I was like, surely it's the wrong address..

"Deserve it winner for best after and I'm not sure what else to go with it, but that is just a really intense experience to watch. I was live tweeting a screening of pad lieutenant protocol in New Orleans for Pluto last week. And they were screening leaving Las Vegas before that. And I actually couldn't watch the ending because I was like, I can't be in this frame of mind. What I'm trying to be informative and bright about another film. I'm actually really glad this made your list just because I thought all of us might try to be a little too cool and go way off the grid and come up with super idiosyncratic choices and avoid the one that he won a best actor Oscar for, but I haven't seen leaving Las Vegas since 95. I remember quite liking the film then and really admiring the performance. So I feel good about it. Josh, you want to take any issue with Keith's number 5? Not at all honorable mention for me. I think I've got it slotted at number 7 right now. So gave it serious consideration. And I like Keith that you pointed out part of the impressiveness of the performance is the dynamic between him and Elisabeth Shue, who is equally good. That's something I've been mulling over and might come up in some of my picks or maybe we'll be brought out in some of your guys picks is cage can be so dominant of a presence. Sometimes that's what we love about him, but you wonder how that is for his costars. And I think this is a case where it shows that he can absolutely get in sync as well with the other people who he's sharing the screen with for the for the better of the movie too. So yeah, absolutely. A deserving honor for him to have this role be the one that the Oscars picked to honor with. Your number 5, Josh. All right, can I give you a little anecdote about cage, how he's thought of right now before I jump into my list though. This was funny before the screening last night of unbearable weight of massive talent. If I got that right, it's a mouthful of the title. We were eating across the street from the theater. And just mentioned, you know, we're trying to hit this movie, so we got to get out of here pretty soon. And the server just asked, you know, she asked, well, what are you guys seeing? So we said the new Nicolas Cage movie. She does like this fake falling backwards, like she's shocked at what we said. And she just says, you never know what you're going to get. I think that's just I thought maybe when she fell backwards, she was imitating cage. For you. You could have been. She actually could have now that you say that. Adam. And I think that does it really nicely. Maybe that'll serve as the criteria here for my list at least, especially now at this stage in his career. You really never know what you're going to get. So I tried to honor that with my choices. It's number 5 pick is Frank pierce in bringing out the dead. This for me is one of Martin Scorsese's most underrated films and it features one of cage's most underrated performances. Pierce is a strung out ambulance paramedic who he sees ghosts. He hopes to see some sort of redemption in this world of senseless chaos and death that he really wants to escape. Cage is almost, it's a bit of an ironic performance, at least when you think of the hymn in the popular imagination because he's almost, there are some outbursts here, for sure. But the calm. If paranoid and exhausted center of this movie that is spinning wildly around him and maybe the best example of that is this one scene where he is begging his boss to fire him and his boss, played by Arthur nascarella, barks at him like a dog, which is clearly usually the cage line. You swore that you'd fire me if I came in later, and you sworn before. Oh, fine, get him tomorrow. Even better than that. What was I thinking about? I could fold you some sick time. How about a week? Two weeks not gonna do it. A week's not gonna do it. You're saying no, you're gonna do it. You're going out with Marcus, okay? Do you cause you kid? The city needs you, please. I'll phrase it. I'll make it up to you, honestly. Look at me. The next time I see what fly you. I can bark, too. Peace you could do it all. I never said I could bog better than you. So with its Paul Schrader screenplay, bringing out the dad was dismissed as this taxi driver riff when it came out. I think it's probably still largely considered somewhat the casino to taxi drivers Goodfellas. But for me, it's a lot more than that. It's something of an answer even, I think, to taxi drivers bleakness. It's very funny as well. A lot of good laughs in this film. Sorry Keith to quote you while you're on the show. But in the age of cage, you did call this a tour de force performance of a sort he'd never offered before. And then you wrote that cage's Frank pierce serves as both another contribution to Schrader's gallery of God's lonely men and to Scorsese's collection of Christ figures. That nails it and is partly why I have it here at number 5. Just the exhaustion. I mean, I don't know what how he arrived at that completely empty wiped out demeanor that he carries throughout the film, but it's really remarkable. Yeah, I think I was maybe in that boat Josh in 99 where the casino analogy kind of holds up and I was a little underwhelmed, though appreciated it was still holding everything Scorsese up to this kind of raging bull Goodfellas taxi driver kind of model, which is totally unrealistic. And longtime listeners of the show probably feel the way I do, bringing out the dead is one of those films that you have championed over the years coming up in various forms. And I would put in my top 5 Josh Larson movies, I most badly need to revisit and reappraise. Again, don't have any negative sentiments about it, but sure enough the passion for the judo..

"To hear. Anthony Michael hall. Both of those he's the common denominator in these John Hughes fix actually met him in the club of New York a few years ago. I just said, hey, man, I'm a big fan. He gave me a pound and he looked at me and he said, respect big dog. And I was just like, okay. Johnny be good would probably have been in there. Trying to be good was a good one, yeah. He was a high school quarterback. Played his best friend. He went on recruiting trips. It was out there. Got a junior and weird science. A lot of common denominators in these movies. How about you, brockman? Which one's weird science number one for me there? I thought you said you didn't like weird science. No, no, no. I'm not a 16 candidate. Oh, gotcha. I'm a weird science guy. You had license to drive on your I was a Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. Yeah, I was fan of those. I love those guys. That movie was hilarious. It was hilarious. Basically, I know Chris, you said there was a lot, but there's so many of these movies. The perfect time. Don't forget about adventures and babies. Which I didn't really like, but see I like that one. Our fen Vincent D'Onofrio is Thor in the movie. It's a great movie, but yeah. Elisabeth Shue. Elizabeth shoe, obviously one of our favorites. So yeah, you could do, you could do a top probably, you could probably do a 64 March Madness. Let's think about that for later. You talked about William Zabka. It always playing that character. In my podcast, in my podcast bust, we delved into my persona while in high school. And we kind of came away and then ultimately in college where I would, I think I was just a quintessential Johnny Lawrence character. I think that's who I was and I was just going to be it, right? I walked into your frat party, and I said, we're here to drink your beer. Take your girls and go home. That's what we were there to do. And so I was kind of, I was kind of still to this day, and I loved me to death. Don't get me wrong, but she says, I am 80s through and through she says, glasses, the way I dress the way I think she's like, you are so 80s. And I will take, I'm going to take that as a compliment. Yeah, definitely a compliment. It's a good decade. It's a very good decade to be a part of, and I'm glad I was. Great, grab bag. I love movies. You know? Anthony Michael hall, in Batman, The Dark Knight. A lot of people don't remember that. He played the reporter. He gets taken by the Joker, a part of that huge reveal at the end of the movie. He's definitely one of my all time favorite. Especially from that time actors. Huge fan of his. Yeah. The brat pack, right? The original brat pack? And also, weird science has so many classics. Like, you know, they go, first of all, Lisa meeting Gary's parents and her dad trying to size up why this woman is with his son. And then when they go to the club in Chicago and he gets all drunk and he's trying to tell the story and he's like, what do I talk about on the telephone? Of course we know it's on the telephone and then he don't even have his license lethal, you know, just, I mean, I can watch weird science every day,.

"Dude, me too. When I was younger, I wanted to get out of here, you know? I was sort of like, I wanted to travel. I wanted to go places, but the older I get, the more I realized how much of a gem, Georgia really is. Yes. And the people too, I think that's what a lot of filmmakers that are coming down here in production companies enjoy is the southern hospitality. That they might not get as much up north. And that's another reason we're just planning on staying here. Yeah, I get it. I get it. So, you know, I am going to address your shirt. We talked off air about this, but I have to say one of the greatest shows certainly on streaming. So Gavin, let me give you an old guy's perspective, then you could tell me what the young hip smart kid thinks. So I love it because it was released mid 80s. I think it was 84. I think it was 11. But you know, it means a lot to me because of where it was released. The time period, the music, freaking macho and Zappa. I love them, Elisabeth Shue. I love everything about it. I love the nostalgia. Somebody who's new, you just turned 18. What do you see in the show that you love so much about it? I'm always curious about that again, but what do you see in Cobra Kai that you just absolutely love? That's a great, that's a really good question. I love that you're asking me that. Honestly, man, I think it teaches so many important lessons. To everybody, especially mainly the youth, you know, teenagers and, you know, I watched the original movies and it also has this, it's almost like it's managed to capture the feeling that I get when I watch 80s movies. I don't know what it is. Watch 80s movie..

I told Stephen that I went out for lunch them a Vegas. He was laughing his ass off by the way down and speaking of which yeah, so Diego, I don't know. I think it's a bad. I think it's a bad bad move for Diego doing that but I like Diego a lot. I just think he's being misled by this this coach who he can't really what he didn't beat Mickey Gall that time and make you had a heart attack during the fight or something. But since then he hasn't won around and seems to be getting getting killed, you know the last couple of days off so, I don't know just doesn't seem like a Ronda Rousey's bogging boats know that guys like that guy looks like Greg Jackson compared to this guy. "Make memories with their family of Disney or wherever, you know Universal, you know, almost wherever so so it's a big cause that we're going here and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. So so be on the lookout for some reports on that as well coming up. Yeah. And and so and then the 28th is when Mommy and I head back home and Sophie gets ready to get back into school mode. Yep, although of course, my brain doesn't end until the 30th. Yeah, you start on the 30th. Yeah, so okay. Yeah, but but that's kind of what we're thinking here. You know, we got off of big week ahead. You know, it'll be fun. We're going to relax we're going to ride rides. We're going to see how things are. We're going to wear our masks and we're going to be socially distant just like we always are and we're going to celebrate, you know, we're going to celebrate that we're able to be there to celebrate Jacob's birthday and it's a big birthday for her for certain. Oh, definitely and and we're going to be there for her. And we're just going to you know, we're just going to enjoy being with one another you know, so. But that's not all the show we have is it's Sophie. No that isn't and you know, what four is barely as I scratched the surface on what's going on at home at Disney World in the holidays, you know, there's a there's a lot that I'm sure I missed and and you know, we'll just take video and photos of it and we'll pick it up on the on the channel, you know C and we'll talk about it and future episodes. So, yep. Okay. So what do you have for this day in Disney history for October 19th, Sophie. I have three things. Okay. First up these first two things happened on the same day. They happened October 19th 1989. At Epcot body Wars a Parks first Thrill Ride begins sending guests through the human bloodstream at the brand new Wonders Of Life pavilion a motion simulator ride featuring a film directed by Leonardo Nimoy best known to stir best known to Star Trek Faith as Mister Spock. Body Wars can carry 40 passengers in each of 426 tonnes simulators the cast of the body Wars film features ten years son as Captain but Braddock Jacqueline Matthews as Mission commander and Elisabeth Shue as dr. Cynthia Lehr who is investigating white black white blood cell response time to a splinter penetration, although debuting on this day at the MetLife sponsored Pavilion. Wait, wait now also does viewing on this day at the MetLife sponsored Pavilion is the theater shown Cranium command. a humorous presentation of the importance of the human brain and the short films goofy over Health living hosted by goofy using clips from his cartoons. And the making of me about birth and life starring Martin Short. I don't remember that Pavilion being here. Now the Wonders a life. You know, I never really explored it. But what it became it's over by. I want to say it's over by what's now test track in that area where where they sometimes have special things going on page over by that cut through over as you're getting over towards the Mexico Pavilion. Remember how you can cut over and I think that's it off. I think that actually might be it too. It's I'm not hundred percent certain know that's a giant golden dome Fair roof. Yeah, but I never saw body Wars. So yeah, I never I never wrote it down. So I don't know if I would have liked it or not, you know, so, you know what I will look into that a little bit more and we'll we'll update the listeners on exactly where that was and it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to to go Google a YouTube of it and see if someone's got a video of it out there see what the right thing is. Like, yeah, and then of course, I am two more things one of which also happened in 1989 October 19th, and that was The Little Mermaid original Walt Disney Records soundtrack was released on both CD and cassette tape. Yep. Yeah, that's a good finally It soundtrack, isn't it? Oh, yeah The Little Mermaid is a great one. And finally this one's my favorite actually a revised edition of the illusion of Life Disney animation by veteran animators Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston to of Walt's nine old men is published by choice editions widely considered to be one of the best books published on the topic of character animation. It was first released in 1981 and I actually happen to have a copy. Yes, you do who gave that to you Sophie. I do believe it was. And I was me I thought it was Aunt Sheila and Uncle Randy know it's been a few years since I got this one and I think this might be the newer version. Yeah, I'm sure it is even though it's like this neck. Yeah. It's a sixth book. It's a great book to Yeah, so, yep. I'm glad you remember that. All right. Yeah, I can't find the date on it right now. I'll find it later. Okay, that would be a good thing to site for a history of Motion Picture Arts presentation wage might be yeah. All right. So anything else nope, that is all I have. Okay. Well then I'm going to do my name is Nee who's who's character and my Walt Disney quote and then why don't you do our charity Spotlight? I would love to okay. So my just who show character for October 19th. 2020 is tongue go home. Pongo.

"It's a really good movie, but it's not like it's not one of those movies that's it's not as entertaining as face off. You know what I mean? Yeah, but it is a really good quality movie. Like I believe it went towards might even want to ask her. I think the kids might want to ask her for it. I don't know if did hear see one Oscar I think so. I'll look that up real quick. Yeah Best Actor Nicolas Cage Academy Award Best Actress Elisabeth, Shue Academy. Wow, best director job. Adapted screenplay. It was nominated and when he he won a Golden Globe as well for it. So it was a big deal. Okay for his career, but it is also extremely good movie. It's he goes to Las Vegas to drink himself to death. Yeah, and then kind of gets entangled with into the life of this prostitute Elisabeth Shue and it's basically just a depression movie of him trying to drink himself to death absolute her trying to love him. Yeah, that's what that sounds great and it is but it is it's extremely good. It's some how it works and you can't stop watching it Nicholas Cage a very good way of transforming transforming himself into that character, even though like people think he's like very one-note a lot of people think who thinks that he's the my fictional a page that has a lot of people think that they're Nicholas Cage they don't test they don't know his career then yeah, maybe I'm just guessing but I think he's thought of that way that it's very tight chested. I would think that Nicholas Cage is probably the most versatile actor that's working today. Yeah, as far as being able to do anything, you know who I think like a non-traditional leading man Jim Carrey. Yeah, but I think he is at the level of cage. I think he can be have you ever seen Sonic the Hedgehog. He's really good at Sonic the head shot. Yeah and movie it is a good movie. But it's nothing close to some movie Something Special journalists Sunshine is about my love that movie. Yes that level of acting is very long at your number five. My number five is the one you just commented on not leaving Las Vegas, but face off. Yes, this movie is so outlandish and weird and it's.

"It's so beautifully shot. It's it's the sad the water and the pieta seen and I tell the kids every time every time somebody dies in somebody's lap. I say look a. A Cena. Scene and finally the kids are catching on cuz when I was in film school, like I've made a couple of movies and and I always try to put a Phi season, but it only made sense in one of my movies so I took off Have one and wait, what is it? It's you know, did you know the sculpture the pieta? I don't maybe I don't think so. So it's it's a very famous sculpture. Okay, one of the one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did it and it's way too famous. And it's where Jesus is laying across Mary's lap and he's dying her dead in his her low. Sure. Yeah and it's it's one of the most famous sculptures in the world. Oh, so anytime you see somebody dying in someone's lap. Yes, what the pieta seen it's like it's the it is this it is it is a connection. It is the most intimate connection you can show that's not but I mean, it's probably more intimate Than Sex You know, it's like it is supposed to be dying in your arms. Well, you see like in warm ooh, yeah, exactly. Yeah exactly same right, right. I think it has like three of them only see something so profound job. Tell my wife just tell me I didn't die in vain. So right so yeah, so that to me. So Davi man just like he does so much and he's in such a few scenes and it's like, you know, he to me, he wins he wins the day of all the movies. So that's what we watch as a family and took my own. I'm trying to watch the boys and the boys is very good. But I just can't I don't know. I can't bring myself to watch it. I just there's a there's a there's something wrong. It's like, I don't know. I don't know. I'm a I'm a muscle through it's got its got great writing. It's got great stories. It has this beautiful female protagonist and an antagonist sphere that it's chasing right now. So I don't know the the the jury is still out, but I will try to finish this season and will report back. Yeah. I've done that with song. Is we're like, you know, you like it, you know want to watch it but there's something about it. You're like, I just don't have the emotional fortitude to carry through right now because life is like you have to be in a mindset right that says I'm prepared for what's to come because there's just some shows that like, I'm not emotionally ready for what might be witnessed. Right? Well, so and they bring back Elisabeth Shue in the season and when they bring her back, I'm like, all right, just dreams dream sequence, you know what I mean? Cuz he killed there in the first season and if her season so I'm like a dream sequence, but the reveal after that it's not a dream sequence, but I won't give any more away but it is the Pennysaver watch it. But it's the same travel in in in in all of the whole series So Okay, cool. So that is the thing that going to keep me watching things like that. Have you seen the Umbrella Academy Audrey is a big dog. And I hear it's amazing and and I tried to watch it. We couldn't get into it not her cup of tea. I mean it really hits me in the same vein as the boys. It has that same feel of the the crew. It's like it's right everybody trying to capitalize on The Ensemble superhero space of the Avengers and I just think you know, I think we're kind of all tapped out good way to put it we're kind of tapped out on it, you know..

"The streets behind here and it is completely empty it's so eerie to see pictures of that because that is arguably maybe the most congested streets in the world anytime that I'm in New York and I have to get from one place to another I dread if I have to go through Times Square in around any of you know the Broadway area because it's so crowded and I've never seen anything like that while Billy Joel was singing the skyscrapers in the Empire State Building in particular was putting on a synchronized light show to his song so if you get a chance today take a look at the you tube video on that and it's it's pretty cool of the I always think it's cool how they do those single light shows with fireworks in buildings and things like that anyway but that particular poignancy of the lights on Broadway the song that he's singing about is you know extra emotional L. nice **** all right let's get to the reunion news back to the future friends what's going on well I'll start off with the the friends reunion that's that was supposed to have been taped already they announced that this was gonna happen that they had shoveled enough money at the original cast of the TV show friends to get together again for an unscripted reunion show that it was supposed to have been done in early may and then released on H. B. O.'s new platform that will debut on may twenty seventh it's B. O. Max but they haven't been able to do it because everything is shut down but yesterday HBO did say that they plan on getting the this taped by the end of summer time and then on the air as quickly as possible after that so they still have plans on doing it they're targeting and of summer guests you know maybe early September it might be on the air somewhere around there so we'll keep an eye on that but the the big reunion news was a virtual reunion of the back to the future cast Josh gad is a huge fan of the movie he does a podcast three brings together reunions of people from movies and TV shows and things like that and he was absolutely giddy that he had organized a virtual reunion with Michael J. fox with Christopher Lloyd with that Leah Thompson with Elisabeth Shue Huey Lewis was part of it because he's saying the the theme song for the movie director Robert Zemeckis was on it J. J. Abrams we now know from Star Trek and Star Wars was that part of the mix as well a lot of the supporting cast members from the original and some of the follow up movies to that were all part of it and if you're back to the future found it was fun because Michael J. fox and Christopher Lloyd were doing in a re re re doing some of their old lines and it was just fun to hear some of the classic lines you know they were talking about you know would they ever do another movie again somebody Josh gad had asked the Michael J. I think was Michael J. fox what with the premise be if there were new movie on that it would be that they would go but you don't back into the past to log back into the future to learn about corona virus and then go back into the past to warn everybody at the appropriate time that the coronavirus was coming good idea yeah finally yeah all right it's dean Richards entertainment report a quick break and then among other things you'll hear how the Seinfeld cast remember Jerry.

"Way right handle it not good either that said rose about go position by position Saban north Asian they will better so I would still look back on twenty fifteen farm event I probably have positive thoughts but then again I'm not an effect so I'm with the federal government Eric is up next the joins us he's on a federal act J. yet they go through for you but the real quick pregunta elicit your token credit just real quick all I watched a little more of it on Friday I was plain simple Kerr and I'm playing some poker and I'm waiting for the game to start and I saw that AMC had karate kid on and of course it's the great sequence in the how we party when you know what she owes Canaccord shortages Jersey and that's where I like the shower China hi Johnny Lawrence and that we can go hang out with Elisabeth Shue and sure enough he didn't chase down and you get Pat Morita Mr me Augie coming out basically smoking these four kids like it's nothing that's the scene Eric that is one of those movies for me it doesn't matter when it's on if I'm flipping around and he's not the watch I can watch it over and over again I had the opportunity comicon in twenty fourteen and that him and you know the guy played Johnny M. and brought much you know more of my judgment before and but it never led during the one play Johnny you the laughter that is used for lotus yeah I just got to say you know just kind of go like you said it was like the quintessential big you know college kids and me and them the abilities abilities okay now and that that that movie bit back to school he was a he was a jerk also also yeah I do I just want to throw that in there but movies you never know how you're going to be type cast you just never know and I don't know if you're watching cobra kai I highly recommend it yeah I've only seen the first season but I'm gonna go watch the second season at some point I have plenty of time on my hands as we know book what I liked about that show is they kind of did a very good job and I'm not giving anything away here but they actually Uman eyes the Johnny Warren's character and I think it's good if you could do that sort of stuff you know I think that's a good idea we should look to get one of those guys on IMA do that because I'm always thinking against ideas I don't have a contact the macho all see what I could do I would love to get the the macho is that gonna do is talk about those movies I could talk about those movies for forever oh sure absolutely I mean that there are over a much of the local guys on the I think it might the yeah actually the my wife knows this because into the no they go to the same school district good though so Hey I got a check on that but as far as far as the games ninety eight jets and and then eighty eight mess on their both spoke on their sources and then you just on a all being up ten up in advance in there yeah I mean I was on the edge of my seat all game to begin with but the idea is just that I I thought for sure they were gonna go win the game and yeah unfortunate income as well Eric I think the ninety eight jets and again I refer the matter of the jets the ninety eight jets with a feel good ride every which way two years earlier you want to fifteen the laughing stock of the league Parcells comes in you get an eight game turnaround you don't make the playoffs against alliance but then you come back with Vinny Testaverde issue quarterback he takes over for Glenn Foley and it's magic it's Vinnie it's Curtis Martin it's Wayne Chrebet Keyshawn Johnson it's the trick ward it's a terrific team on the other side of the ball defensively and you won a home playoff game you win a division title we had a ten point lead but you also have a ten point lead remember against the team that won the Super Bowl there was the better team they walk amber went on and won back to back super bowls so I can with the jets and comparing the ninety eight Broncos and so you know the jets what about it in that day they want like Atlanta Minnesota you can make that argument Minnesota was quarrel with a better team and game is being played at home just wanna point occasional hurts makes it that much worse knowing you won't get back NVD blows out his Achilles first game of the year home against going on and following a bill Parcells is gonna hurt her thought but then ninety eight team brought beer filled garage four sockets are said to palm bay Kevin joins us he's on a family's up Devin Edel I'm good how are you how are you this morning don't hang in there man can't complain do doing the best we can what's up are you firstly I want to say thanks for doing all they should do a great job in in in this crazy times it's it's just nice to have the voice of reason on the radio and and and and listen and talk about topics such as you don't have to worry about all this all this craziness but all the team will talk about it going way back New York Rangers nineteen seventy one to seventy two when they lost in the finals for the Boston Bruins they haven't been in the hadn't won a Stanley Cup since nineteen forty I think was the first time they were in the final since then the year before they lost in the semi finals of the creature against the black cloaks they lost four three I'll be able for Giacomin and build new over the F. as in a trophy winners in the warehouse they both have pretty good season in seventy one seventy two you have to gag line with Tallahassee fielding job where they both ended up being three four and five and scoring recall probably could be tell us that we don't want scoring that year and won the art Ross told I think if your coolest OP bottom broke his ankle on a slide memo the Iraq game dal rouse slapshot from the point in writing the article broke his ankle in this last fifteen games of the season the first two playoff series that they want he was in self defense the Bruins Brad Clark with Neil was coming up in one of the top defensemen in the league and you know they get to the girls in the finals and they lose four two and they just don't play well in the final total and even though I love that team with the kids and they had three great seasons that year the year before the year after it just broke your heart that they couldn't date date date they couldn't win the Stanley Cup ask you a question obviously before my time but when you're growing up as a kid and you watch the first team go on the run do you think that cups come in the following year what did you feel it maybe it's too young to realize it I'm just wondering did you think the cop was coming like a year or two after the fact or you look at it right then and there and say this was a shot this is our opportunity we bought well it was one of those it was the former you sitting there saying okay we lost this year we're gonna have the same team coming back next year we can't do that on a lucky and then they meet in the semi finals the meat the flyers and the on the fly is basically beat him up in the semifinals physically and we lose that and then you know a year after that the route I think the year after that they lost in the quarters and then the next two years I didn't make the playoffs and then I had that running seventy nine eighty when they did make it to the finals against the Canadians and no one expected them to win than a loss that was a disappointing loss to the display horribly after acting they won the first game but yeah that whole life here the kid you say okay next couple years we got we got a great shot at winning it and it doesn't happen and Kevin in many of these years and I appreciate the call on the front that innocent climb that year that kind of comes out of no where that year that is very much on expected does not have a place in your heart because they took down a lot there is one particular team that kind of stands out for me in this way where they want a championship they took me on a significant ride and it's very very silly and I think for many of you isn't a show right now does exactly take Sherlock Holmes a rocket scientist to figure it out but I will tell you who that is we got a lot more he calls were going through teams that are amongst your favorites but they never won a championship not the ninety six Yankees knobby eighty six giants RB eighty six minutes it seems they loved being at the top.

"Chicago cage match the ultimate Chicago movie cage match and we've been doing this trying to find the best Chicago movie of all time in studio tonight Josh the gore and Rachel class they are fighting it out between adventures in babysitting and the fugitive those are films tonight the winner moves on to the final for the loser goes home let's go to Sherman who stand by sure nobody like you like adventures in babysitting in the future the fugitives yeah the the makers of adventures in babysitting and I mean I do like Elisabeth Shue but they do not know the the city geography of Chicago the yeah yeah park is right next to Chicago and you can take two separate al line is to Oak Park yeah right that they were riding on they don't need to worry about the car because I got the next day all right thank you thank you all taken the two ninety home I'm just going to throw it out there one more time you're not wrong right there it's got some trivia on both these films and he's been holding on to it and we'll get to that right now Pete there's so much fun stuff about we've kind of gone over a little bit with the fugitive of of Tommy Lee Jones being a basket case I guess shooting this film even though he won an Oscar for it what are some of the trivia nuggets we haven't gotten to do you know the fugitive the credits run over the first fourteen minutes of the yeah it's the best your minutes yeah fantastic I love that because it is it a capsule late it's all the X. he is yeah all the effort that the truck the the interrogation his wife being murdered the conviction and and going to jail and getting on the bus and the credits are over and the mailing it's really before the movie even starts yeah what's going to happen I know what's going to happen long credit course you award yeah also did you know that it's a myth that that no two snowflakes are exactly the same in nineteen ninety nineteen eighty eight a sonic scientists found two identical snow crystals storm in Wisconsin while empty is your multi tasking tonight the it is interesting because the knock on the fugitive and I I I thought about this a lot after the last round it really gonna dented its reputation with the lack of female characters yeah really worth it and she died in the beginning and they change really I'm more happy as a doctor in the yeah apparently Jane Lynch was up all set to be sort of the love interest and then they just acts that entire plot which if you look at it you can email says that that one of the chemistry there would have been yeah Neil so I get it but yes true yeah the other thing I love about the fugitive is but none of them are playboy model see another marriage she wasn't I'm like a playboy model she also saved everyones lives in that it was just in case a list of issue of course stealing every young man's heart from karate kid I would say more than ventures the biggest thing back to the future three big fan the whole all right so when you think about the fugitive the the conceit that Harrison Ford has that beard at the beginning and that's what he walks around in life with yeah that's I don't know if it's good or bad may I get what they're doing because he has to do the shaved down half later in the bathroom at work but the idea that he some high top doctor at the hospital with that shaggy hipster beard that he's just I don't know I don't know I'm always it always on a larger having grown up around many physicians you they have they have their interests and they do I when I first saw the movie I vaguely had remembered that in the TV show the fugitive die puts shoe Polish in his hair hide I may I may be making this up but I I so for the for the movie I was sort of points for the moment that he did that and then when he goes into the the sort of gas station restroom like.

"Come back on the air real hard on research all sorts of things definitely not coffee and checking out light on the on and I got to talk to you about in a second here doll for me really what do you call them again you call it revamping vamping that sounds too close to vaping Hey what you know the today on Twin Cities live a fun night out quickly sees what's coming up Elizabeth Reaser she's not gonna be on the show today Kelly Hansen our reporter who you all here on my talk no in love she feels that on the don and Steve show an unclean Bradley she's gonna be my guest cohost even though she called my face about the other day yeah the air well she wasn't wrong okay we're having her back and Elizabeth is flying to Nashville today and the reason that she is is because she's got this girls weekend that she had to delay just a little bit she still in town this morning I know what you're gonna say I think because in just an hour or two she's gonna be at the target center backstage or maybe on stage I don't know where they're doing it but with her idol her idol Amy Grant and she is going to be singing a like behind closed doors duet with Amy Grant to one of immigrants famous songs from the nineties called el should die and she and and Elizabeth perform this song at the Lutheran church that her dad was a pastor at growing up so she is going to perform it now yesterday on Twin Cities live we showed Elizabeth's voice lesson for this and she and this is not a joke she cried four times during the voice less all four times she cried and she started off kind of sheepish and reserved shoot the shooter and then as time went on he was like here's what I want to do let's open up more let's open it up more and then she started getting into her groove and so today as she drives over Kelly Hansen will be whether they're gonna bill pros in the car and they're gonna be warming up vocally trying to shake off the nurse I told Liz that you should really have like a mimosa or a bloody before she goes totally and then she will go and sing and then right after she sings sort shore drive right to the airport or should be driven to the airport and then she will leaf should go to Nashville which is oddly enough where Amy Grant lips right so it's a weird on whole story will be shown on Monday on Twin Cities live but today Kelly Hansen as I mentioned will guest co host and since you will have been with Elisabeth Shue bring me all the behind the scenes there as to how it went well with the most times you hear about this it cetera okay very good it channel five three o'clock you got a girl all right I wanna talk about baby ota again okay so it seems that Disney did not really predict the popularity of baby Yoda and so they this is this is what they want us to believe I think that they were quote unquote flat footed in prepping for merchandise and because of their error the studio lost three million dollars in sales nothing feels low David does Amazon customers have search FOR baby iota tie in toys nearly a half a million times already no way five hundred thousand times the plush baby to Dahlin bobble heads are available for pre order yet they're not gonna arrive until Easter target targets got a pre order but it's not available till April first twenty eight yes so the the creator of this series who I believe would be John have a row he claims that he intentionally held back selling the merchandise so that there were no spoilers that's what he wanted to do he wanted to protect the story line and listen when you turned on that one there are few surprises in life nowadays specially just with all of the behind the scenes videos the people put out the multiple trailers at center and then just weeks there are very few surprises that is true when baby Yoda appeared at the end of the first episode of the Mandalorian it was a genuine surprise no one knew that that was coming in so it's kind of cool to John Fabrice point his fear was that if we put out a merge line before that right there will be leaks that Yoda baby iota a little iota is going to make an appearance right and it would have lacked a bit of a punch and I think maybe even a bit of the the impact that it's had the sustained impact like people aren't sick of baby yeah yeah well you know it's going to get sick of that little creature really grow at any point I see it's kind of fun to find out together will he talk by the end of the season good size what will his voice sound like I bet it will be adorable can hear you who's a hold of a okay I'm gonna give you the scientific reason that we are so there's something happening Donna suggesting that scientists of sort of kind of figured out there's something happening in our brains have you wonder why am I emoting so strong everybody and everybody is in everyone I think is just like wants to take ownership of baby oda you know what I mean like no he's not an obsession yeah I saw a video first okay so here's the deal an expert at the university of California says it has to do with something called baby schema schema he said a physical features were evolved to think of as cute so being adorable is good for babies because it encourages people to take better care of them baby Yoda has all the important attributes that play into that especially big guy you guys small nose a chubby cheeks cute things can even cause something called with Alexis has cute aggression cute aggression where there's an urge to school something like all I'm eager very and then the rabbit dies sorry.

"Was it necessary then. We need to spend the. It's not just read an article right now on my facebook and there's criticism about like. Oh why do we need another Charlie's angels movie and then Elizabeth Bank said. Well we have thirty seven even spiderman movies. So what's the difference. I kinda I mean it's the same thought processes and little bit. Sit Back you guys tough on this complete now. He said there's so many different James Bond movies. Then there'll be a lot more of a compatibility reference a bigger franchise with more. Injuries is be like trying to say there's been so many iterations of Spiderman. So why not do spiderwoman do spider gwen. There's avenues to go down. That people are asking for more. I'll never talk to you about the bench Pittsburgh to I'm not talking. Just totally disagree with that statement. I'm with the Ryan Different. That was when I was reading the box office breakdown. Charlie's angels in widened work There's a lot of reasons why they like. They aiming at younger girls who don't even know what that is this affair. They'll know we're trying to do this. And they also said that it needed a bigger stars like Christy Stewart is like people know who she yes but she hasn't been in a hit movie in a while she's done she's gone indie route since by light and like you know people know who Naomi Scott is kind of but but like excuse. Excuse excuse that's all I'm hearing it. Didn't it didn't work at that. But that's reasons why those things don't work like if you're going to. I think the the original two tries as movies made money because not because like people like well. Charlie's angels had three big stars in it. People would actually WANNA at that point. 'cause like Oh cool remember exactly yeah more. So the first one in the second one it was surprisingly sorta touch on to such box office just was released a few minutes ago While Ford we Ferrari was expected to be number one but thirty one million Dan. That's a really good Midway Movie Charlie's angels that even finish number two number three midway ways ahead of it yet made a point point seven million and the craziest thing. Yeah finished number three but it almost lost by fifty thousand. Two Johnson of firemen movie G. O.. J. Wrestling I have no interest. The factor that John Cena firemen movies making money with very little promotion. It's just shows how much people can you see those great for Charlie's angels today were there any callback the TV show whatsoever or no there was some there was some there. There's even call backs like in the other movies too. Oh shoot okay like it's like you can tell that it's in the same universe but we won't get to explore that because they flopped but AH training just to I will but I I am. I'm the biggest like I. I think Christmas actress when she the stuff that's not twilight and I'm usually a big next year against her because she seems like she just hates everything but she is funny in this. I like she gets the best live. She doesn't like she's actually is like real. If you're going to see it I would see it for her. Nice he actually makes it worth it and to to finish up on this box office before I move on to our list joker fell again less than fifty percent. It's still made five pounds. Five point six million. Oh it's not as not seen a drop of has ever happened ever because it's almost out of theaters. I got to look into that. That's ever happened like for like I don't know it's happening like drops. I think. Titanic or something like that didn't have drops of like fifty percent. Let's create or something like that but for comic book movies like even like we talked about in game uh even though that was super successful like Megan. Yeah the draw was really a bit. I mean people worry weakened people worry that it was going to be to Avatar Tor- because it drops so much We mentioned that specifically during our podcast that we were like that. Oh is it going to have the legs to get. Their drop off was so significant. I think the drop up the drop wasn't like bad because the movies I think to shop to see the Rewatch Valley jokers a little easier. Not because took less time. There's a need to see joker. I think there's like a like everyone's talking about I need to go see I kind of feel that way. Like the 'cause parasites making decent money for foreign film here and I think that's because there's this kind of like the way they're molding ears like you need. I need to see it like it's like a like there's this whole like you haven't seen something like this before GonNa thing going on and I'm glad that lived up to the hype and sometimes movies don't and I was really impressed. Like I say it's best to go into without knowing anything about it and I didn't know anything about it beyond that trailer I saw. I just just heard I write software. It was when I saw was it. During joker I duNno I was I I saw. I saw doing something recently. Fairly recent enemy the the second movie in two years at deal with peaches. And that's all I'm GONNA say. Yeah I'll say but like something like parasite and joker. There's like A. There's this kind of like will chatter about like Ilian guys should you need to see it for sure And and I kinda agree like I think it's cool that it kind of defied the whole controversy surrounding it they I was really worried that people were GONNA go see it and I think I think that only made people. We'll go see it. More agree so one quick thing I forgot to mention the only non Disney plus that I saw. It's a shout out to Adrian for. Oh Oh yeah the last episode. I ended up watching adventures in babysitting the one thousand nine hundred. I've been version of it. And how'd you like door yet dude. A super funny. Like the little girl's of Szeswith door. And now Vincent Donna Frio I mean are there so yes I looked up on Disney plus I and the original is in eighty seven. It wasn't on it. The new one is the new one from two thousand sixteen was on it. There's a new one and you know what you know. What I'm getting confused with the fucking babysitters sorry it was good Elisabeth? Shue was so freaking pretty row. Yeah back to the future man. Yeah now super huge movie looks the hottest in and she was like I think hooker boss is in leaving Las Vegas. That's the best she's ever put on bliss it going trashy sometimes league lively in the town. Oh Yeah let's get. Let's get into our list so I'm GONNA do ten through five. I don't have any honorable mentions I. I notice myself getting into a lot of newer. While does he animation films. That are on my list. Surprisingly over the classics offaire get ready. READY TO BE UPSET SO my number ten is record. Ralph I love love. Love Record Ralph. If we're doing favors scenes. I'm such a classic Lhasa Gamer. I Love Classic Gaming so that right in that opening when you see all the different video games love that My number nine is a classic fantasia. Okay okay so It's very unconventional. I don't see that on a lot of people's top Disney animated films but I love it being into film. Scores love every aspect of that. My favorite moment is Social Mickey. That's fantastic my number. "And the beat goes on. So that's what happened to Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Shue and then Tom Cruise much like Danny Noonan in Caddyshack said. All right, then I'll marry you. And then Maggie said God, that's all I need. And that's how it pretty much happened. Danny Noonan, by the way, has turned out to be very good actor, he's in everything. Michael o'keefe? He's in everything he does law and order and CSI and all that stuff. Does these hallmark stupid movies? Like Mark Harmon used to do before NCIS came around and say his career. So you never know about these guys. But anyway, I did see Tom Cruise and cocktail and it wasn't bad. I mean, it wasn't it was cheesy. I dunno. If a call it a chick flick or not, but I you know, tune in around yesterday, and I don't know what it is about these bowl games. Whether we are. I don't know bold out or whether maybe it's true that now that we have the. Semifinal games that leads somewhere toward a champion. That the air has been taken out of the tires of the rest of the bowl games even further. I'm not saying that the bowl games in the last twenty years have been must see anyway. But now, they are really an afterthought. They are like infomercials for people you tune by. And you just keep going, and I guess the other part of it with bowl games is that. There used to be a great deal of betting interest in the bowl games because it was one of the places you could bet now you can bet every week and by the way with the calendar turning more and more states this coming year while now this current year, we'll be legalizing gambling. So there'll be more sports gambling opportunities. And that will make these bowl games less. Compelling because there was a lot of money on them. They didn't really care who won. But they like betting on the games. So there you go an hour in the books ties Taza moose radio program on this. Tuesday morning. The first of January two thousand nineteen Chris more sitting in more of your phone calls more sports chatter around the corner. Keep it here.
