"I've been following it for a while, and it just makes it makes you laugh, quintessentially Chicago, totally fictional person and the account formerly run by a person who wanted to remain completely anonymous. Well, you just landed a new Netflix show, which is pretty cool. I want to talk about what Chicago Party and is all about with the no longer anonymous Chris with Husky. How are you, Chris? Thanks for calling in and congrats. I'm doing good, long time Listener. First time caller. No, I love it. It's just perfect. I mean, my gosh, the voice I should probably let Let's How do you describe Chicago Party and I just She gives me a chuckle. Every city every single day. I'd say she's sort of raunchy. She's boozy. I picture her middle aged The attribute says she never turns down anything resembling a good time. She's full assassin. A whole lot of old style. What do you think, Chris? She is definitely all of that. I would describe her as the kind of ultimate quintessential Chicago broad. Uh and she's the kind of shit everybody knows Chicago Party and she she is based on a couple of my actual aunt. I also used to work at Mike Ditka's restaurant for five years and I start a whole lot of Chicago party comes through that place. I love it that I mean, I know you're a second city alum. And you know you you obviously you have a wonderful sense of humor. I like this post was this today. Hey, Walter E. Smith Brothers. I'm looking for a casting couch. She got one big enough for the four of us. I mean, it's great. She's just perfect and all the stuff she talks about The Lord and the women's restroom at the Carson's ribs on East Superior is out of order. That's why I I, You know, it's just all this stuff we love about Chicago and you're right. Every one of us knows somebody just like this, and it's beautiful. How did you get the attention of Netflix to notice what you're doing? So I started this Twitter account back in 2016, and I started it just for fun. Just as a kind of creative outlet. I I was living in Chicago for many years. But then I moved out to l A. Um And so you know, there's a lot of downtime in l A is a lot of sitting around waiting for your next audition. So I started this just for fun, and then it kind of started to grow. And I knew it was. I knew I was onto something. When Stephen Colbert was retweeting it and then I thought, you know this might be a good A good TV show a good animated show, so I put together Group of other great Chicago and and guys who are, you know, know how to write television like my friend Barinholtz and his brother, John. Um, And so then we went out. We kind of put together a pitch and took it out and Netflix. We pitched this Netflix and they wanted it, And now they are 16 episodes. No. How about that? How did they understand it? Because l A people don't always understand Chicago stuff. I just I wondered, was there Chicago went in the room, he said this is great. There was the Chicago into the room. The woman who who bought it. Her name is Elizabeth Porter, and she spent many years in Chicago kind of hanging out in around the improv scene. And so she totally got it. And so we were fortunate that Elizabeth had some Chicago experience. Yes. Love that now in Chicago party and has been tweeting out to Skilling, Tom Skilling to say, Hey, pick up my pick up my phone calls his Tom Skilling picked up the phone calls yet I love her. She loves Tom Skilling. She loved killing. She has an ongoing affair with Tom Skilling. I'm not sure if he knows about it or not. He does. He does. I have confirmation of that and I'll ask him. He's on the show every week. But I heard he was told he didn't know about Chicago Party and But then since the Netflix show in the big deal, he found out about her. Gosh, this is a dream come true, You know. I mean, we are everybody loves Tom Skilling. I mean, he is the most lovable. Sweetest man on the planet. And so the fact that this raunchy broad is like in love with him and constantly saying, like, Hey, you left your underwear on my place last night it, Chris, Let me ask you this. I got to ask you this because for so long you didn't want to be known. You didn't want to be identified, and even Chicago magazine did a whole interview with you about Chicago party and but the whole the agreement was that they couldn't say who you are. It was just fun doing it anonymous. I think that if people knew that, you know, um, that I was doing it. I think it would take some of the fun out of it. And so it was. It was really cool to have nobody know that it was me for so long. But then, after five years, I was like, Well, I should also get some credit for this. You know, Right, right. It can help my career. So now here we are, you know, unmasking so Netflix series. I know it will be a huge hit in Chicago because it just makes you laugh. I'm looking here. Fighting for my dibs really keeps my blood pumping. Just yesterday I cut a lady's brake lines for moving my street ironing board and, you know you talk about the jewels and all the things about Chicago. Are you back much Chris in order to get some new material or how does that work? I try to get back, You know, at least once a year. I'm coming in August for a wedding and I'm going to spend some time in the city and hopefully I think I might be thrown out of first pitch at the Cubs game Nice, so that will be very cool. But when we when we set out when we all sat down to write this show, the first thing we said was we wanted to be a love letter to Chicago and You know, we we obviously wanted to be universal. It's going to be streaming and you know 190 countries, So we have to make it universal so everyone can appreciate it. But there are a ton of, uh Chicago Easter eggs throughout the show, and I think we did a good job achieving that Now it's an animated series. So I wonder. Will you have an animated character for Tom Skilling? Have you decided that yet? Well, All the episodes are done already. We've already got 16 in the can, and it's a bit of a secret, but I will say there's a good chance. Oh, that's that's that's great intel. I mean, we can We not say anything. Are we supposed to keep this hush hush and not tell Skilling. You can kind of keep it keep it under wraps a little bit, but Listen, it all comes out on September 17th. So it's just a you know, a month away and all the secrets will be revealed. Alright, well will be will be downloaded our Netflix and it's called Chicago Party, and that's what you're calling it. It's called Chicago Party, and they're releasing the first eight episodes. And then there's another eight that will follow it up, and it's definitely for adults. You know, even though it's a cartoon, it's uh it's probably rated PG 13. Or maybe even are in some episodes because you have to stay true to Diane Dombrowski. You know that's her name and we'll be watching. I'm so excited about this, Chris. Congratulations. Second city who are collaborating with you. It's It's really huge. I think it could be a huge success and I hope it is. Well, I really appreciate that. And thank you so much for having me on. Thanks, Chris. Keep in touch. That's Chris would task E. He is the guy. The guy finally come out into the forefront after he has been repeating this. Twitter account Disparity account Chicago party and for a couple years there, he's got a new Netflix show. We'll have to check it out. Hey, welcome to everything.

"You know what the fuck why don't you keep getting names as a now it does have to tease but I mean that's right on par with Jimmy Buttons of a Noun Name Buttons Jacket. There's an onion. I mean it just is if if this was writing it would be lazy but but it's just it's just how it happens so it turns out Tony Jackett. He's lived into her all his life. I'm only going to call Tony Jacket the whole time and he has six kids. He's married but and this is in the forty eight hours and by his own account he saw Krista when she moved into that pink bungalow right by the harbormasters shack because he was working there as the fishing warden in the forty eight hours. He calls himself the fishing warden and article I found on A._B._C.. News Dot Com referred to him and I'm not joking as the shellfish constable now. I don't know if that writer for A._B._C.. News Dot com was bored and just being funny or just reading cartoons itunes cartoon or or pitching an idea for spongebob squarepants episodes. Yes we're the shellfish constable roles and the same but that's a cartoon ma'am. It totally is in the movie. The Net Flix film murder on the Cape The character that plays Tony Jackets character is very ashamed to be the shellfish constable and he's he was I think a contractor and he couldn't get work and so this this is way of like they're you know having financial the family's financial problems. He has six kids Jesus seriously so he had take the job anyway as he's working as shellfish constable he sees Krista this beautiful very very very fashionable. They're all the pictures of her. She's just gorgeous woman and he's immediately they immediately hit it off and are attracted to each other issues like this high society. He says like Gref's smell China hot local probably probably yes. He's very he looks like he should have been like a third string character in the Sopranos he has like the lips and squinty is being combed back hair very kind of like Mambo Italian. No I can't explain it got. It and I'm not against it. I'll say that judge like get yours scanner. See Constable Your Shellfish Constable Italian P._C.. Okay so she when they first got together. KRISTA tells Tony she can't have kids. She's been told she can't have <hes> they have their affair for a year. <hes> they end up breaking up up in the film murder on the Cape They make it look like she won't leave him alone and is like always trying to be in his business and finding him at the grocery store and stuff where I'm like prove that it seems like she had plenty of dudes in her life and it was desperate right fucking romain lettuce. We're also GONNA go and it's a tiny tiny town right guy run into my fuck annex at the grocery store and this is fucking Los Angeles Real. Maybe he's talking me. I actually don't run into my ex. I have never never run into anyone. I didn't want to run into in this town. I swear I have to knock on wood now. I would I ever say that out loud. I just want like open the nightmare door basically next week. It's GonNa be fun and talk about who you're an end to yeah. Oh I better start wearing so much mascara all the makeup constant constant makeup. It'll be so different okay basically she. She comes to him and says I'm pregnant and it's your baby and he's like you told me you couldn't have babies and then she's like well. It's miracle and that's why I'm keeping it. I don't care what you say and I don't you don't need to be a part of it yeah and he is he said in the forty hours he was like I was dumbfounded and Kikinda thought she tricked him but she goes on and has her life and starts to base her beat her daughter Eva herself but at some point she asked Tony Not only to pay child support but she wants him to tell his wife and then he has a daughter so tony actually ends up. Tony Jackett ends up telling his wife of like how many years of six kids in years that he she had an affair and now he has this daughter gets the jackass jackets cut off the jackets had to come off that night so so basically his wife Susan of course is very upset at first and live at him but then it basically they all she ends up meaning Christa and Christa comes over for dinner and brings the baby and they start to make it worse who's in herself tells the story in the forty forty <unk> our best people women are just like this kid is not going to have her life be bad because because of because a fucking jackets over here has Captain Jackets fucking married Oh man yes so so and she says she actually liked her basically mazing I know but but also Susan provides Tony's alibi he he was home with her the night of of Chris's death breath okay so police are like it's all a little weird but then they also discover Christopher having issues with her seven seventy two year old father they were you know as I said like this prominent family and apparently the seventy two year old father now had a twenty nine year old girlfriend. Her name was Elizabeth Porter. She had been a sex worker and she had been a heroin addict and now she had gotten her life together and she hughes dating the love of her life. Seventy two year old. You're embarrassing me and Krista was like you are spending too much money on this woman and then they cut in the forty eight hours they fucking do us hard cut to this woman Elizabeth Porter walking down like a courtroom thing and she goes y'all like to take pictures at me and she has like this insane cigarette voice and she's just yelling at all the cameras at one all holy not handling her shit a- at all so he wasn't like I've met this classy dame and listen. I'm not talking Shit on her being a sex worker or heroin addict date sex worker and heroin addict but a twenty nine year old in the seventy two year old don't belong together. I mean you don't know any of the same referencing references you don't use any of the same emojis now or or hair products or gifts or anything or you. Don't listen to the same podcast I mean overall. The rule is don't date someone younger than your children yet. I Matt Dad for being a fucking creepy but I mean I know a lot of people that have had that happen where they're like and now my step mom just an like an obvious now. I know I shouldn't say a lot of people I know one person and right. If you knew a lot of people they wouldn't be so impressed. These are the tiny ways I constantly lie. Just out is a lot of people and I'm like just the one but you're not hurting anyone can have cool tell me but so so that was actually they were like well this this could actually be because she was complaining to her father and basically saying stop turning money cut her off so then and you know so it does become and it sounded like it was this thing where this is almost like a vacation town. It's the elite the people with the money in the town and then the people who make the town go right and they all kind of hate each other. I mean you it. Could it could get real. You know them so the police. Are It just like it can be any. They're thinking. Dad's girlfriend hired someone to kill her. Maybe just looking at that girlfriend that she doesn't have the best background and she would have reason to get rid of her to be like yes. I want to keep my I money source open not my dad poor because otherwise just solve a lot of no one's going to date no twenty nine year old's going to date unless they're in love with him and they have my fucking blessed and that's nine. No be nice then. I'm happy okay so they the police. There's so much going on now and there's so many suspects the police go to the F._B._i.. To get help and get a profile drawn up the profile that the F. B. I. gives them doesn't help help them it does they don't have anybody that matches it. <hes> finally a year after Christmas murder lab results come back and they find out the DNA that they found on her body doesn't match any of these suspects so none of these ex-boyfriends. Nobody and they're like what the fuck so. They have to start all over again so what they decide to do is ask for the D._N._A.. Of every man who lives in Truro Holy Shit and and there's a reporter in this forty hours who was like the reporter from day one it was a little story yeah and he was like well then that was just crazy then it just that you clearly they have nothing in there just like trying to do whatever but how many how many men are we talking. How can I don't know offhand Atari? Normally I would have lied but I call eighteen hundred. Let's just go ahead with fifteen thousand. It's fun and it's a it's a good number. It's a really small town. Ah Let's say two hundred okay let's say between two and one hundred and nine thousand okay so two and a half years later the D._A.. Michael O'Keefe announces. They've gotten a match back from the D._N._A.. and Dan some idiot killer gave them their D._N._A.. Well yes and it leads to the arrest of a suspect named Christopher McGowan. He is her garbage man so police. I bring him in for questioning the police okay. Do you know Christa Worthington. He Says No. I just know she's a stop on my on my garbage route but I've never met her and I don't know her and they say okay well. We found your DNA on her body now now. What do you have to say and he says well actually I went to her house on Thursday? Which is the day that he his he picks up the garbage at her house and then I went inside and we had consensual sex <music> and then he he says he went back Friday had sex with her then beat her but his friend Jeremy Frazier was there his Fred Jeremy Frazier started beating her up and then he left and Jeremy Phasers the one that stayed in killed well? The police are like well. That's a great story except for Jeremy Freight your friend Jeremy Frazier your good friend that you're setting none of his DNA is anywhere in the house and he there's there's no way to prove that he was ever anywhere there my God and so then basically after a six hour interrogation he signs a waiver that says he doesn't WanNA lawyer and then he confesses to the murder <hes> so guy does the same Guy Christopher McGowan the garbage man okay so basically the prosecution the trial starts the process she's and tells everybody that Christopher McGowan went out with his friend Jeremy Frazier and they got drunk uh-huh and then at one A._M.. He drives up to her house rapes her and kills her but Christopher McGowan's defense attorneys a guy named Bob George he claims Krista had consensual sex with him going on Thursday the day he brought he I picked up the garbage then he left and that her murder took place somewhere between Thursday and then when her body was found on Sunday and that his client had nothing to do with it dammit he also suggested that Chris McGowan and Christa Worthington could have been having a consensual affair for a while and that it was just the elitists of this town. That didn't believe that a white woman who has this fancy fashion writer could be having a consensual affair with a black man who was the garbage man he also submitted that McGowan's I q was in the low seventies and so that's that's why he he waves the right for the lawyer he didn't have. He had no chance once he was in the police but he basically said but then you know so he's basically saying his I._Q...

"So they're not thank about the country just above voting sometimes you know i'm thinking about the the debate in the florida legislature after the parkland shooting when they were considering gun reform measures and one of the republican state representatives elizabeth porter in that debate had some pretty harsh words for young people teens who are calling for political action let's take a listen we've been told that we need to listen to the children i do what the children ask are there any children on this floor are there any children making laws do we allow the children to tell us that we should pass a law that says no homework the adults make the laws because we had the age we has the wisdom and we have the experience and joshua douglas what about that point the notion that at a certain age the young people just really aren't equipped or or or versed enough to to cast a vote well psychological studies disprove that point melissa psychologists generally think of cognition and it's referred to locally as hot cognition and cold cognition hot cognition is impulse control peer pressure situations where you're making a snatch snap judgment and psychologists say that brains are fully developed for hot cognition not until age twenty one or maybe a little bit older cold cognition on the other hand is reason decision where you have time to deliberate and think about your your options and psychologists say that brains are developed for cold cognition by age sixteen so essentially voting is a cold cognition activity you're not it's not the sort of snap judgment type of thing in the heat of the moment at least and the brain is is no different age sixteen than it is at age twenty six or older so nothing magical happens at age eighteen in terms of brain development to make people reason voters then i think you know you can just see all of the people who are speaking out who are poised to are making reasoned arguments and you know why would we want to deny people who are having a a strong voice in our community from an making change and i think also we need a couple this with improve civics education you know i think certainly in this country we need to foster more civic engagement and understanding what's referred to as action civics where people are not just learning in schools for the road.
