"So in the past few minutes, as you just mentioned, the doors of Westminster Abbey have now opened to the congregation. And the great and the good have been arriving. I've been watching them streaming by and lots of the men are wearing dark seats and have medals and the ladies have all got black dresses on and fascinators. We will come back to Leigh Anne gerrans, who is live for us outside Westminster Abbey. I think we're having a little bit of difficulty reaching her. But we will return to her, of course. So she has been watching people arriving for the funeral service. Leanne, I'm hoping that you can hear us clearly. What is going on then ahead of the service beginning? Yes, Caroline, I can hear you clearly. So as you did mention earlier doors of Westminster Abbey have now opened to the congregation, the great and the good have been arriving. I'm sitting here right now, and I've just been watching people streaming past me, including the police officers who are guiding these people as there's a huge police presence here in the country and right round Westminster to keep everybody safe. Everybody's dressed in black, the ladies are wearing fascinators, the men have black suits on them and lots of them have medals on the pockets. It's quite a spectacle really to see people begin to flood into Westminster Abbey. And they also go through airport style securities, so we're just seeing them go through that before they are seated in the Abbey ahead of the funeral at 11 o'clock today. Lean, of course, many of the senior dignitaries attending this will be bossed from Chelsea to the RB closer to the start of that service at 11 a.m.. Can you give us an idea about who's going to be attending later? Yes, we've all been talking about that and wondering here on the ground if we're going to be able to see some of those foreign dignitaries presidents and prime ministers from all over the world who have descended on London over the last few days. And as I mentioned, 10,000 police officers will be on the ground to make sure that everything goes off safely and people are kept protected and the work behind the scenes really dates back years, so around 2000 invited guests will be inside Westminster Abbey, that's the capacity. And last night, the king spent the evening hosting 500 dignitaries and guests at a special reception at Buckingham Palace. Now, I guess at the funeral today will include members of royal families from across Europe, leaders from the Commonwealth, including the Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, New Zealand's prime minister Johnson gerardo and Australia's prime minister Anthony albanese. They did arrive over the weekend. Other world leaders will include the U.S. president Joe Biden, who was seen standing silently beside her majesty's coffin in Westminster hall. He will have a course attend that service alongside the Italian German and French president. They were all here in London. No one from Russia, Belarus, and Myanmar has been invited. And of course, the queen's Friends, family, and employees will be at center stage of the guest list. The Queen would have given a lot of thought to her funeral service, which has been in the years and years of planning and her faith was also a thread throughout her life, and I imagine today's ceremony will consist of a very personal plan approved by her majesty. They again, thank you so much for that reporting and so live from Westminster ahead of the funeral within sight of Westminster Abbey, our reporter on the ground. Well, let's speak now to Victoria wakeley Bloomberg's UK national editor for more context on today's events, which are a good morning to you. Thank you for being with us on radio. This event, the funeral today is the culmination of ten days of national mourning. What does today mean for Britain and your view? I think the main thing. And again, this is the view from my perspective. You can't say definitively, but is the feeling of togetherness potentially, not the whole country will be feeling the same, but the country feels that it's the center of the world's attention today on one level, and on another level, as we saw with the Q what people drew from this and what potentially people might want to carry through is that sense of feeling it together wanting to recognize the queen together and that sense of it's not too cliched of potentially moving into another era, nobody quite knows what that will be, how they feel about that. But for the moment for the last ten days, that sense of togetherness. Yeah, and what sticks in my mind one of our writers put it this way, we may not all be monarchists, but we're all Elizabeth knight, or at least many people in Britain feel that way. In terms of the order of service Victoria that we was published last night, we've had details of what will be sung and said in the Abbey. Now what stands out to you there? It's the mixture of and the constant threat as leandra said to us, actually, of things that meant things to the queen, who as she said was very closely involved in drawing up this order of service. So we've got music that was sung at our wedding to Prince Philip music that was sung at his funeral and at the coronation. We've got music in the order of service here written and arranged in the 1600s and the 1700s. There hasn't been a monarch's funeral at Westminster Abbey since the 18th century, but still that sense of continuity, the Abbey builds on its traditions and its experience. And when the choir processes up at the front of the procession at 11 o'clock, you know, that would be a tradition stretching about hundreds of years for which they've rehearsed over and over again the pieces and for which the choir exists to sing for the monarch and that sense of the personal thread that runs through the order of service of those bits of music stood out stood out for me. And I think the lord is my shepherd will stand up for many people when that is sung as something that was associated with the Prince Philip too. Victoria, this is also a huge international gathering, a major test for the news prime minister who has found herself hosting presidents and prime ministers on royalty from all over the world. How important are a gathering is this internationally? Well obviously there are many gatherings like this and for Britain and the prime minister to find itself at the center of world attention. I think is important. On the other hand, part of the thing, just of course, we will all be watching the great and the good as Jan said far into the Abbey and trying to spot President Biden and who's coming in and out of the coaches and things. Much of the most of the actual meetings between them, of course, will happen away from our gaze. And the real diplomacy, I suppose, in many ways starts when there's trust the prime minister flies off to New York for the UN General Assembly tomorrow. But I think for Britain, that sense that world leaders will fly in correct to help us remember our modic is the important thing, I think, from this ceremony. Perhaps politics on hold still. Thank you so much for being with us. Victoria wakely has Bloomberg's UK national editor really pinpointing what may stand out in the service at 11 a.m.. Which of course will bring you to live here on Bloomberg radio coming up next on the program will
