Rep. Elise Stefanik Suggests Biden Infrastructure Proposal Leaves Our Defense Vulnerable
"I guess Americans to know that the Russian nuclear Inventory about 88% of it has been modernized about. None of ours has been modernized under the Biden proposed massive multi trillion dollars $6 trillion budget. The defense budget really goes negative because he doesn't even give enough of an increase to cover existing expenses. Correct. That is correct. President Biden budget, which will bankrupt America is actually a cut to our national defense budget because it doesn't keep pace with inflation. This is a really big win that President Trump delivered. We were in the process of rebuilding our national defense. Our military readiness. This is something that I work on on the House Armed Services Committee. When it comes to nuclear modernization. Democrats in Congress are very much opposed to making the critical investments we need when it comes to nuclear modernization. Yet adversaries like Russia to your point mark have made those investments and Putin's top priority was to get that five year extension for the new start treaty. Biden gave it away. Without delivering anything back to the United States.
Rep. Elise Stefanik on the Weirdness and Crisis Under Biden Administration
"Things are getting kind of sick, aren't they? At least I mean, honestly, birthing person. Isn't that like a put down of a woman as far as you're concerned? It is ridiculous. And actually, we had Secretary Basara, Secretary of HHS testify today in the Republicans hammered him on that issue. Because I've heard from families in my district. How absurd and frankly unscientific, that term is Birthing person taking place of a mother. Trying to figure out what men are going to be called. And my mind goes to places I shouldn't mention. But I'm just saying, it's just weird. Anyway, There's so much weird that is going on, isn't it? I mean, Like critical race theory. This is really, you know, teaching racism to kids of all backgrounds and colors in our classrooms and so forth. Did you ever think you'd see the day? I never thought I'd see the day mark, but the unraveling under President Obama. So sorry, President Biden, right? And, um, Speaker Pelosi has been just destructive and so quick. Again as someone who was very critical of President Obama, which is why I mentioned his name. This administration under President Biden is even further to the left, and the American people are waking up to it in regards to critical race theory, you're seeing moms and dads stand up across this country in opposition to this brainwashing that the far left is pushing This is not the Democratic Party of five and 10 years ago. This is a radicalized Socialist Democratic party and it's a crisis. America is facing a number of crises under Joe Biden failed leadership.
Trump Critic Liz Cheney Cautions Jan. 6 Riot Could Happen Again
"Liz Cheney criticized Republican lawmakers for downplaying the January 6th attack on the Capitol. Cheney says that claims from President Trump That the 2000 to 20 election was stolen are a threat to American democracy. Once January six happened, that that's the end. "This is all things considered. I'm Ari Shapiro and I'm Elsa Chang During former President Trump's first impeachment trial, New York Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik emerged as a star in Trump's eyes for rigorously defending him when she opens that mouth you a killer. That release that loyalty is likely to be rewarded next week, House Republicans are planning to remove Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney from leadership for her ongoing criticism of Trump and his efforts to discredit the 2020 election. And to replace her with Stefanek to learn more about the New York congresswoman's rise to power. We're joined now by NPR congressional correspondent Susan Davis. Hey, Sue! Hey, Elsa. So how did at least to find it Get into politics in the first place? Well, she was active in Republican politics right out of Harvard University. She worked in the George W. Bush administration as a domestic policy staffer. And then went on to work for Mitt Romney's on successful 2012 presidential campaign. It was there that she became a really close friend and political ally of then Congressman Paul Ryan, who was at the time Romney's running mate. And when Romney lost, Ryan encouraged her to run for Congress, and she did, and she ended up winning house seat in upstate New York in 2014. At the time, she was only 30 years old. She was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. And she really started her career is someone who was viewed within the party as a rising star right. But at the beginning of her career, she was viewed as kind of this relative moderate right and now she's seen as a top trump ally. How did she evolve within the party? I mean, I think she's involved in part because our congressional district is evolved when she won six years ago, she'd want to see that former President Barack Obama had carried twice. Today. It's firmly of Donald Trump district. He also carried it by double digits, and she sort of evolved along with her district. She still has a moderate voting record. You know, she opposed things like the 2017 trump tax cuts. Then the first impeachment trial came along, and she used her position on the House Intelligence Committee and really leaned into this role as a trump defender, not just in the impeachment hearings. But these press conferences, along with some of the folks who have been seen as some of Trump's closest allies, thinking of Republicans like Ohio's Jim Jordan. Trump loved her district loved it. Donors loved it. You know, she raised $13 million ahead of the 2020 election, which had been nearly five times as much as she had ever raised before, and she really has never looked back since then. Have said, does her moderate voting record give any of her Republican colleagues pause? Not really. Because this fight just isn't about ideology. You know. Liz Cheney is a Mork conservative Republican analista phonic, but Stefanik is not going to criticize Trump or his ongoing efforts to discredit the 2020 election. You know, Like most of her House Republican colleagues, he voted to object to electoral college results on January 6th after the capital had been raided. Genie did not do that. She opposed the second impeachment, Cheney voted for it. And she, like many Republicans, believes Trump is key to winning control of the house in 2022, whereas Cheney has said she wants Trump to have no role in the party going forward at all. I'm curious how much of a relationship do Stefanik and Cheney have? Well, they used to be close. Not only did they have a relationship, Stefanik gave the nominating speeches in both 2018 and 2020 for Cheney toe hold the leadership job. Stefanik is now trying to take from her. So how do you think this whole leadership shakeup will play out? As of right now, there's no one challenging Stefanik for the job. That is NPR congressional correspondent Susan Davis. Thank you, Sue, you're welcome. Decade after Don't ask, Don't tell ended one of Naval Aviation's few openly gay pilots is on his way out. The Marine substantiated his claims of harassment after an incident following the West Coast Marine Corps ball. It wasn't enough to save his career. KPBS is Steve Walsh has the story for most of his six years in the Navy Lieutenant Adam Adams. He says he felt supported as an openly gay pilot. He can tell you when that changed November of 2019 Adamski is a helicopter pilot for a Navy search and rescue squadron. The group works closely with the Marines, Addams, He was invited to a West Coast Marine Corps birthday ball at a local casino. He came back to the hotel room where the Marines have been holding an after party when I walked into the door, and you something wasn't right because the TV in that suite had been moved, like on the pivot to face the doorway, and I saw my dress whites draped over and around the TV and there was hardcore gay porn plane. His uniform was wrapped around a TV playing pornography. It didn't feel like a harmless prank. It felt like something else. Some of the other Marines in the squadron wanted to find those responsible. Butt Addams. He says he was getting ready for his first deployment. As a pilot. He wanted to shrug it off and let the matter go, but word had spread. Adamski started hearing from other service members and received numerous calls from people. They're in the closet and that squadron, both men and women and openly gay service members. Tell me they're upset in that they don't think the climate especially for pilot is a good planet and that squadron and they think I should report it to the don't ask, Don't tell policy ended a decade ago, allowing LGBT service members to serve openly. But a study in the Journal of Sexuality Research and Social Policy found 59% of service members still didn't feel comfortable coming out to their peers. Sasha Booker is a former Marine and an attorney with the civil rights organization Lambda Legal. She says. Changing the law didn't change the culture. It's one thing to have going out. Don't tell removes. It's another thing to have a culture where people can feel safe being who they are and not have to worry about being discriminated against or harassed. A lot of this comes from Talk down 18 months after a Dunsky reported the incident, he still hasn't received final word on this case. His version of events has been substantiated by the squadron commander in charge of the three Marines found culpable and later triggered an inspector general's investigation. Initially, the squadron commander even offered to pull their pilot's wings for the incident. Addams Key thought that was too severe. I want an in person apology. From all three of them. I want. I want a meeting to which they're there, and I could talk to him. He also wanted something on their permanent record. Months went by Adamski filed an inspector general's complaint after the Marines told their commander that they had made their apologies and repaid the hotel charges for the porn. The incident continued to eat it a damn scheme unhappy. I'm no longer feel like I am an effective leader, an officer a pilot. I don't feel part of military more Addams Key has been called into his command more than once to address his decision to speak publicly about his case. The Navy says it's up to the Marines to comment. Major Alex Limb, spokesman for Third Marine Aircraft Wing says the Marines initially acted quickly on the complaint. Service member Marines sailor in Our units are Treated with in a culture of dignity, respect. We want to prohibit any type of activity that were these individuals would be harassed Addams. Former top aide details sexual harassment allegations against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo
"It is and what I was saying before. It is kind of a threat thing, But I worked with the guy that every woman referred to his creepy Joe, and he was a perfectly nice guy. But do we all know him? Is he? No, No, no, no, no. This is years ago. Those corporate America years ago. Not not that show. Not the one of the oval. Okay? No, no, no, no, no, not him. He's perfectly lovely. Um But like he would say to me that I had to work with Joe and he would be like he would always comment about all that such a nice dress. You're wearing something like that, But it was just the way that he said it would make me feel like alright, back off. Big guy, You know, like it just was the way, he said it was another co worker. A male co worker could say what? Why you look really necessary, but thank you because it was the way they said it. It's the vibe. It's the total vibe, but I don't know how you fix that vibe. Guys, I don't know. But if you're creepy, your creepy The heavy breathing is kind of a giveaway. Oh, if a woman looks you goes, I think we should take a shower. Now you're probably that guy. So now, of course, Cuomo's AIDS or denying that this happened. They deny the claims because she was very specific when she said she was on that plane in October, 2017 and and who was on who was seated next to her, she wrote, As I said that his press aide was to my right. A state trooper was behind us. Well, Cuomo's press secretary, a woman, by the way, kid. Caitlyn Garrard. Gerard dismissed the allegation, she said in a statement. As we said before Miss Boylan's claims of inappropriate behavior or quite simply false, and she cited flight logs detailing Cuomo's plane trips in October of 2017 and said there was quote no flight, where Lindsay was alone with the governor, a single press aide and a New York state trooper as she claimed in the block post, And she also cited a joint statement from several former aides who shared flights of the governor and Boylan during that period, who denied the That occurred as she described. We were on each of these October flights. This conversation did not happen. Yes. So that's all a lie. That's a complete lie. The statement itself is alive. Why it's provably alive. In fact, Lindsay Boylan, in her statement, never said she was alone with those people on the flight. She never once made that allegation. The Congress. The governor's office is inventing an allegation to knock down this is a strong man, Lindsay Boylan never said she was alone. With the governor, a press aide and in New York state trooper. She never said that there was nobody else on that flight or anything like that. The governor's office releases a statement claiming well, there were more people on that flight, contrary to what she claims in her block. Plus, she never claimed that never for a moment. The only thing she claimed, was that the press aide and the New York State trooper were near her. When the governor suggested that they play strip poker. That's the on Lee thing, she alleged. So even in the defense here we see dishonesty come out of Cuomo's office immediately. Their first instinct is to lie. Yeah, well, this sexual harassment working group, which is an organization formed by seven former New York state legislative employees who witnessed or experienced harassment in the state's political landscape. I have called for an independent investigation enter out into her allegations, and you have Congresswoman Elise Stefanik calling for Cuomo to resign. In the wake of both of these scandals with the nursing home handling with coronavirus deaths. And now this sexual harassment allegation as well, she said he has earned the title is worse Governor in America and now every New Yorker knows that he's a criminal sexual predator. And she said, You know, I called for this when these allegations came out in December on December 14th that was one of the first and on Lee elected officials in New York state to call for an investigation.

"One of the people who objected last week during the electoral college vote count was Republican Maryland congressman Andy Harris. Andy Harris has long been receiving contributions from a variety of companies, including Marriott and Comcast. Well No more Marriott International, announcing that they're going to cease contributions to anybody who raised an objection. Additionally, Comcast doing the same as the parent company of NBC Universal, they will not be contributing to Andy Harris anymore. This is yet again ah, part of the punishment. Of Republican congressman who raised objections last week. Um and they're doing it all under the guise of saying that this is this is due to the peaceful transition of power. It's essential to our democracy, says Comcast. And they say, consistent With that view. We will suspend all of our political contributions to those elected officials who voted against certification of the electoral college votes and again, you know whether or not you agree with the vehicle by which those lawmakers did that the point of it was not to overturn American democracy was not some sort of dark of night operation where they were subverting. The American Democratic system. They were raising objections to the electoral process, season states across the country and the way the election was conducted, and they wanted to have those objections registered in a place where people would see them in a high profile event on now they're being punished for it. On D. There's a pretty dramatic effort to go after conservatives broadly that goes well beyond just elected officials, too. Yeah, and I You know I would love it. If I had the time You keep hearing these calls. You should write letters to all of these companies about your letters these companies and say, you know, did you do the same thing after you know, and we keep going over and over again, every time Republican won an election this century, and the Democrats who did that? They're raising an objection and under the guise that you sent it to the peaceful transfer of power this it wasn't going to disrupt the transfer of power. Joe Biden was still going to be inaugurated next week, there was more than enough time for them to raise what they felt was legitimate questions about rules that were changed voting rules that were changed in five states. And they didn't go through the Legislature, as is the state legislatures. That's what they were talking about here. That's what they were. That's what they were were objecting to and you know it. Maybe it might have been worth actually objecting it like, you know, bearing some pressure down on Senator Barbara Boxer, because, remember in 2005 during that electoral college vote count. It was Senator Barbara Pock boxer alongside Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs of Ohio. Who raised an objection on the electoral college vote count for the state of Ohio. Remember this and Barbara Boxer? We just found out in the last 24 hours has been lobbying now registered to lobby on behalf of a Chinese company accused of human rights violations in the surveillance of Muslim minority. Inside of communist China. So so, you know, maybe some objections should have been raised back then because Barbara Boxer ended up actually going toe work for a company who is assisting One of our chief adversaries, this communist country of actually abusing the rights of its own citizens s. So it's kind of kind of an amazing thing. But no no Tut tuts for Barbara Boxer. We never got any of that after the 2005 objection. No, of course not, Um, also getting canceled amongst all of this. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. She, uh, she is a graduate of Harvard. Uh and Um what What's happened here is Harvard has has moved to remove her from a political science advisory board that she was a part of Harvard Kennedy School Dean Douglas Elmendorf, announcing that saying is that she had made public assertions about voter fraud that had no basis in evidence. Moreover, these assertions that statement do not reflect policy disagreements with bear on the foundations of the electoral process to which this country's leaders are chosen. Hey, said that he spoke with her, and she declined to step aside. So he told her. I would therefore remove her from the Institute of Politics Senior Advisory Committee at this time, Elise Stefanik, releasing a statement saying that this that this makes her a part of a long line of conservative Republican leaders. Who has been quote boycotted, protested and canceled by colleges and universities across America. And she accused Harvard and its administration of cowering and caving to the woke left and eroding diversity of thought and aggressive statement from Elise Stefanik in reaction to her on the mater, saying goodbye to her. You know, it's interesting If you question the outcome of an election winner up when a Democrat wins, you're subverting, you know the democracy, you're shaking the core of democracy, You need to be canceled. But for four years Joe Biden in his speech last week, if it was on Friday, it hinted once again and referred to Russians putting Donald Trump in office questioning yet again the legitimacy of the 2016 election. 56 years later, they're still doing it. How come that's okay? That's patriotic, But it's someone else dares to question the outcome of an election. You're a liar. You're subverting democracy. You're shaking the country to its core. Think of every hyperbolic saying you possibly can think of If this is group think, and if you do not us get in line, you're going to be canceled. Yeah, I mean, there's a lesson here and and it cuts both ways. In terms of both parties don't breathe life into conspiracy theories that's for sure. Don't breathe life into conspiracy theories for which you have no basis. But in the meantime, If your voters don't have faith in their system, you've got some work to do. You've got some work to do to instill faith in those voters because that's how this system in particular hangs together are also falls apart. 7, 23 and W E mail. Wouldn't it be great.

"We begin the program sitting right across from me here is at least defining the congressman from New York the twenty first district in the empire state she is serving her third term of course you know her from the house intelligence committee and the entire but Manza of impeachment outrage from all sides congressman what a pleasure to have you here in Iowa it is great to be back and they also know me because I was on the guy Benson show and had a great time yes that's many people are saying that's what your best known for your previous appearance on the show now twice so I we are honored let's get going by talking about impeachment and I'm thinking about these four days that were in the midst of right now yesterday was the Super Bowl arguably the biggest cultural event in American sort of shared there's the shared experience of America then today we have the Iowa caucuses tomorrow is the state of the union address from the president and then the next day there will be impeachment votes in the U. S. Senate which will happen during the show will be live as those votes unfold the Senate arguments just wrapped up a few moments ago so we're within five hours of the doors closing here in the caucuses in Iowa the closing arguments in the impeachment trial back in DC now over the U. S. Senate will now go into a period of debate where each senator will have an opportunity to speak for up to ten minutes that will carry through until Wednesday afternoon and we saw the president's advocates making their arguments we saw the house impeachment managers making the case to convict the president and remove him from office having had a front row seat to all of this looking at all of the intelligence having these battles in front of the cameras and behind closed doors sitting here now congressman if you had two minutes let's say on the Senate floor today to make your closing argument on this issue what would you say I would say this is about the constitution this is about the fabric of our Republic Adam Schiff when he took to the will of the U. S. Senate said this was not just about the twenty sixteen election but about the twenty twenty election and I believe that this was Democrats focus on undermining the president and really wanting to impeach him since the day after he was elected I think the president's team did a great job laying out the facts and the key facts for me as I looked at all of the depositions I was in the majority of them I read every single word of testimony that Adam Schiff conducted on the house side is the fact is you crane got legal security assistance nineteen days before the end of the fiscal year and it was more security systems than during the Obama administration and you know people may disagree with the president's policies I happen to agree with his policies but anything that was included on the transcript this does not rise the level of impeachable offenses and that's what this is really about this is about the constitution and it's about making sure the American electorate can make the decision at the polls this November as you said this week everything is jam packed we're getting the first votes cast at the caucus so this needs to be figured out by the American people rather than Adam Schiff who has a flimsy flimsy case for impeachment one of the big arguments that everyone had over the last week involved John Bolten the former national security adviser and his potential testimony evidently there's a book coming out where he's going to more or less it seems close the circle on at least an attempted quid pro quo from the president and the Democrats in the Senate said well we must hear from him this is crucial Republicans said no this is not our job in the Senate to hear from someone that the Democrats didn't even bother to subpoena on the house side before they tossed over the transom the impeachment articles to the U. S. Senate I was very sympathetic to the Republican argument saying it's not the Senate's job to clean up after the house and I agree that the house today shoddy rush job for political reasons but I also believe that Bolton and what he knows is valuable and pertinent so I guess my question is because you're in the house and not in the Senate setting aside the Republican argument in the Senate do you think that John Bolton should have been subpoenaed by Adam Schiff do you think his testimony before your committee would have been valuable had the Democrats bother to pursue it yes certainly I think that the more you hear from witnesses I think that's where you get the facts that was a decision made by Adam Schiff not to subpoena John Bolton and also to withdraw subpoenas of other individuals they did not let that play out in the courts and it's the house's job to do the investigation the Senate functions as a jury with the evidence presented so I do think the president argument was very important because it it it would set a precedent for future impeachment hearings and Adam Schiff did not go according to the Clinton and Nixon impeachment process the other thing I want to comment on guy is it was not surprising to me that there was a bomb shell New York times article at the moment when it was essentially publish we saw during the house depositions that every single day there were strategic leaks and media manipulation from the house Democrats we still don't know what is exactly in the manuscript and I get asked not by you but other reporters will the manuscript says this and I'll say to them no this is third hand reported in The New York Times so I think the senators made the right decision to move on get this behind them and again let the American people decide at the polls this November I saw senator Lamar Alexander on meet the press yesterday and will play some of his audio later in the show and he made the argument which is basically where I am which is this was not a perfect phone call the president did act inappropriately in his estimation in a number of ways but then you have to make the decision okay if there was presidential malfeasance abuse of office impropriety whatever word you want to use does that conduct rise to the level of first impeaching a president and second even more significantly removing him from office as we are now nine months away from a general election and he said no he said the damage to our polity to our politics would be far worse with a few purely partisan impeachment and removal process when the American people would have that choice before us taken away from us just by members of the Congress I wonder what you make of that part of the argument specifically with the election coming up and he said the impeachment articles of the Democrats pass in the house would have barred president trump from holding office again it would have taken all of this one hundred percent out of the hands of voters which I know a lot of Republicans suggest was sort of the point because they're nervous about twenty twenty on the other side well I think senator Alexander he's deeply respected and he takes his job very seriously as United States senator and I respect his decision again you know I think this should be determined by the American people but when it comes to the transcript of the call with Ukraine first of all we don't have a lot of transcripts to judge it against because it's so rare for transcript to be released I think that actually sets a very bad precedent for future conversations between heads of state I think the president made the right decision in releasing the transcripts and what I've said is look this president communicate to nontraditional ways he sounds like himself when you read the transcript but when it comes to this question of whether there was an investigation into the bite and there was no investigation into the bite and that's a key fact and to have concerns about potential corruption this president is required by law to ensure that our taxpayer dollars are going to corrupt entities in the national defense authorization act which I helped write and voted for sure and last point on this what I want to move on to a couple other topics I hear your coming from I agree that it is very important and relevant to note that ultimately the by wide investigation was not an ounce and the eight digit did in fact flow to Kiev but there's been a fair amount of reporting that would suggest the reason that the would be quid pro quo was not finalized didn't actually happen wasn't executed is because they kind of got caught the whistle blower start to percolate some senators were asking questions why is this eight not flowing then they pulled the plug so I'm not sure if that's ultimately in terms of outcomes it is a defense in terms of intent I'm not sure it's totally convincing what do you think of that well I think some of the testimony that was very important is this pause on foreign aid it was not just to Ukraine there other countries where there was a pause making sure that taxpayer dollars weren't going to Russia has a skeptical general absolutely he ran being a skeptic in twenty thirteen sixteen and I even have been critical of disagreed with some of the skepticism although as I hear from constituents in my district people want to make sure that their hard earned tax dollars are going to corrupt entities I think they're going to be significant consequences to how partisan this impeachment was it's been very divisive across the country I was in my district this past weekend and people are paying close attention they are not happy with how Adam Schiff a Nancy Pelosi pursued a partisan impeachment and have not been forthcoming with the American people she said you can't have a partisan impasse processor it's not legitimate and then that's exactly what we got and if they cared so much about hearing from the witnesses she withheld the articles for three weeks they could have pursued the process by subpoenaing John Bolton if they cared that much about the facts this was on an arbitrary time line and they just wanted to get this done before the holidays so congressman my guess is the least defining from New York you were thrust into the limelight with this impeachment process and I followed your career because we kind of know each other a little bit as a thoughtful young up and coming member and that's cool and then bang you're on this committee you are gaining a lot of attention people on the conservative side of things are rallying here because the left is really aiming to dislike you strongly and letting that be known on social media and elsewhere giving a lot of money to your opponent and I know there were certain people gleefully doing jigs because your opponent whose big spending tax and spend liberal Democrat was out there raising significant financial resources to try to defeat you then you release your numbers your quarter for a fundraising was like a genuinely a blockbuster just shocking talk about that the numbers and what what that says to you it says that my constituents in the American people support to my focus on the constitution and the truth and any amount of Hollywood money that flows into my district the American people are going to fight back and my district knows that I work on their behalf every single day it's important for the listeners to note that the money that was raised by my far left opponent was off of the hash tag trashy stuff phonic in I was smeared by people like Rosie o'donnell Chelsea handler George Conway and it was an interesting and sort of jarring personal experience to go through but I really appreciate my constituents completely understand what's happening they will all tell you that Hollywood money is not going to change this district and they know that I consciously focus on delivering results and I am an independent voice if you look at my voting record I always put my district first yes and occasionally we have disagreements about some of your votes because you will not always toe the party line that's right and that's the same with me but occasionally are telling of the party line they diverge from time to time and I think that's a healthy thing last question and it's sort of along similar lines involving your growing profile within the party long before your political celebrity bloomed vis a vis impeachment you had really come out and strongly made the case that the Republican Party has an issue with women voters and female candidates down it's dwindled down to a very small number of female Republicans in the house and you said about this one woman mission to to change that trajectory and

"The morning America this is the catch. Roundtable Tonkin's Matijas here Sunday morning. Interesting week an impeachment with us this morning congresswoman at least a phonic and. She made National News on her position against Adam Schiff your morning congresswoman. How you to Sunday morning I am great John? It's been a busy two week that I'm so grateful for the outpouring of support from across my district across New York state and across the country. Tell us You so you took a position and you actually spoke up and you put down and all women all women were on your side that you should have the right to speak to tell all America about what that's right so this has been a partisan impeachment process from the start where Adam Schiff has literally literally been making up the rules as he goes as the American people know. This has been a closed door process until there was a vote on the House floor because of so much pressure it was a party line. Vote and it didn't allow Republican members to yield their time to other Republican members and for your viewers that had that's that's allowed to happen on the House floor that's allowed every committee. It's only Adam Schiff who gaveled me down and I was focused on the facts. I continue to focus on the facts. Act and the substance in my questions of witnesses as part of these impeachment hearings but obviously the last and Hollywood liberals got spun up they have been Pouring millions to support my far left opponent all because I spoke on behalf of my constituents and I asked very strong questions at the impeachment hearings focused focused on the truth and the fact and people you know watched you and they saw how you acted and You you were very cool very an why are the Republicans not allowed to speak like that. I don't think the American people actually realized because Adam Schiff made up these partisan rules that doesn't allow members to yield their time to other members numbers and this is unprecedented. It doesn't happen in any other committee. It doesn't happen in the intelligence committee under normal rules. Adam Schiff has interrupted. Republican can Questioners Republican members. He has coached the witnesses and he's run a very partisan process. I call it the Adam Schiff regime of secrecy this started off with two months of closed-door deposition in a basement bunker where there was no press access no access for the American people Oh and no access for a huge majority of the members of Congress. I was able to sit in on the majority of those depositions and if you look at the transcripts Adam Schiff interrupted erupted Republican members questions then and it was just the past two weeks where the American people have been able to see how partisan this process has been run by Adam shifts. Now we're all we now Sunday morning. What do you think is going to be happening this week? I anticipate that the Democrats on the impeachment pitchman committee are going to work to put together some type of report and move it to the judiciary committee after Thanksgiving They have decided to to pursue impeachment regardless of the facts. Regardless of the fact that this week there was not a single witness that had direct evidence of quid pro quo or any impeachable crimes again I have said consistently and I've asked witnesses. Do you have direct evidence and not a single witness has put forth that direct evidence so while people may disagree disagree with the President's policies or the president's The way he communicates I happen to support. The president but impeachment is a serious constitutional matter and and Democrats have made a political decision that they're going to pursue. This and I anticipate that it will move to Judiciary Committee and ultimately moved to the House floor. The key point to note is ultimately this will go to the United States Senate and Republicans control the Senate and one issue. We've had with Adam. Schiff is he did not allow us to call witnesses. We've wanted to call the whistle blower which started off this entire process and impeachment proceedings. And he also didn't want to allow us to to call Hunter Biden where there are concerns about potential conflicts of interest or appearance of conflict of interest with Hunter Biden's role on the board of Charisma which is corrupt Ukrainian oligarch run company When it gets the Republican Senate? I anticipate the Republican Senate is going to call some of the key. Witnesses that that we've been limited by Adam Schiff from calling. Is there any other specific people that testified you want to speak about I know that Fianna Jonah Hill testimony. Yes I am grateful for all the witnesses who have testified and have shared all the facts that they know. Oh and that has been truthful. I ask questions of Fiona Hill and of David Holmes this week and both. Are you know very strong public servants. Who have served our our country and my questions were focused on? Do they have direct evidence of impeachable offenses. I ask them. Do they have direct evidence of quid pro quo and they did not what I did. Also focus on the history of corruption in Ukraine The fact that the aid was ultimately released to the Ukraine and there was no investigation into the Biden's So I appreciate it. Both the witnesses answering my questions Not Just Fiona David Holmes but every witness that has testified. Anything else wants helped me American public. Well I'm so appreciative of the outpouring of support because of my fact based questions and because of I've shined light on how unfair this process has ben Hollywood liberals are pouring in millions to support my far left opponents so if you want to fight back donate to fight shift DOT COM. That would be a big help to make sure that I can continue standing up on behalf of my constituents. Well let me come down to it. You have a Lotta Commonsense Democrats. I know a lot of them are or any common sense. Democrats fighting a were opposing. What's going on with the so-called Progressives? That's a great question. And the answer is yes when there was the votes on the rules for the partisan impeachment. There was bipartisan. Opposition to Democrats actually actually voted with the Republicans in opposition to Adam Shifts. Rules that he made up that are unprecedented and don't allow for Republicans to to really. We have the same rules and procedures that we do in any other committee so to Democrats crossed the aisle to vote with Republicans. Bipartisan opposition. And I anticipate that number is going to grow when Pelosi brings an impeachment vote to the floor because many of these Democrats represent districts that voted for president trump. They represent represent districts. That are very common sense. That would rather have us. Focusing on passing are updated trade deals focusing on growing the economy. All if those priorities have been put on the backburner by Speaker Pelosi and I think the American people want the voters to decide. The election is less than a year away. Hey let's let the voters decide in terms of Whether they support the president congressman at least phonic. Thank you so much for coming on our show Sunday Sunday morning and telling the American people what's going on and we'll catch up with you again real soon. Thank you don thank you. This is the cash roundtable. We'll be right back..

"What are the typical protocols or procedures for notifying deny the white house and senior congressional leadership a really important question asked march twentieth thousand seventeen by representative elise stefanik asking james komi when you've got a counterintelligence investigation and surveillance going on your spying on an american with an open investigation what are the protocols for informing congress now shared into the answer to this question by the way because it's the law you can't have the fbi spying and having these open investigations on american citizens without letting congress know or at least the gang of eight the gang of eight includes the leadership in the house and the senate intelligence committee and the speaker and the senate majority leader kony's answered there is a practice of a quarterly briefing on sensitive cases to the chair and ranking of the house and senate intelligence committees and the reason i has a practice of quarterly briefings yeah and the practice so if that's them before congress is briefed so it's quarterly for all three then senior congressional leadership the white house and the dna i think that's right now that's by practice not by rule or by written policy that's interesting practice not by ruler written policy that's how it's always been done and the law states that congress needs to be kept informed of these things on semi a very regular basis right because you know we the people wanna make sure if we're being spied on so elise stefanik drill down on this because guess what he didn't tell congress the gang of eight just like he didn't tell presidentelect trump about the operation against his campaign so since in your opening statement you confirm that there is a counterintelligence investigation currently open and you also re reference that it started in july when did you notify the deny the white house or senior congressional leadership good question congressional leadership sometime recently sometime recently was actually two weeks prior to this testimony it was nine months after the investigation why so just to drill down on this if if the open investigation began in july and the briefing of congressional leadership only occurred recently why was there no notification prior to the recent the past month i think our decision was it was a matter of such sensitivity that we wouldn't included in the quarterly briefings understand what you just heard that was win james comey was still the.
