Is Matt Ryan a Hall-of-Famer?
"Personally believe Matt Ryan's a Hall of Famer. Now hear me out. And here's why. He brought his team to a championship. I know they lost that. If they have that championship, eve waltz is in the Hall of Fame. It's the same thing with Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford wasn't going to the Hall of Fame. Whether we believe there announced that's wise. I think winning that ring, he's going to get in now. Eli Manning, which is two rings, has probably going to get in the Hall of Fame, 'cause it's New York and it's a whole thing. Okay, now there's your difference. Let's take Eli Manning. Is it the two rings that put Eli Manning in the holiday man in two rings are going to vault him in? But if Eli Manning were to have Aaron Rodgers career, he'd be in the Hall of Fame. And probably waltzing in as well. Aaron Rodgers has four MVP awards. He is dominated his division and he also owns the city of Chicago, but did he really? He comes up short. I agree. He has come up short many times. But how many? He does have a race. On the MVPs. Okay? I mean, think about some of the people who have been named MVPs. All right, and granted, he got it four times. Over the last years when he was really taking a baiting from media about the vaccine stuff. And when you heard his side of the story, which has never been contradicted by the reporters who were trashing him, you know, that he did say what he actually did. He didn't lie about it.

ESPN Are Innovating With Their Commentator Selection
"I love how ESPN and their team of networks is getting guys that currently play and former play, but they're not so far out like a Kurdish strange or a Dottie pepper. They're younger guys and they're getting them with their takes live. It's like the mayonnaise getting on Monday Night Football. It's similar to that in that it's way more interesting to hear Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, bullshit with young jock or whoever the hell they brought on that. I think they brought on Nelly and got Nellie's opinion on the last throw by someone in the playoffs. I don't remember who it was. But that telecast that Monday Night Football with the mannings got higher reviews. It got higher ratings than anything they've ever done because that's more interesting. People want to hear current guys that can kind of talk, the public through the mindset of what's going on on the telecast. I think it's cool. I think when I've always watched golf on TV or coverage, I come at it from a more of a different way of how I look at a golf course. Sometimes I want to know more information about the conditions that day or that pin location and specific the green speeds. What that person's got going on in that day as far as their a stuff. Those are the things that I don't really ever know while watching. Just assume you just see the best shots that day and sometimes you just don't catch on with some of the things those players are going through that day. So I'm looking forward to kind of maybe telling that side of the story a little bit and see how it goes.

"You lost to Baltimore by one point. You lost to LA by 6. I would not overreact your now. I made a mistake last episode. I feel bad. I was gonna put it in the corrections, but I'm like, I'll save it for ask Zach. I was trying to say last episode that Kansas City wasn't going to win their division. And it's funny, actually, during my breakout, like I do show clips of on YouTube, I've actually cut out this part that I misspoke, but I was trying to say that Kansas City is not going to win their division. But I ended up accidentally saying I don't know how it's not a Freudian slip. I don't know how this ends up happening, but I actually said that they're not a Super Bowl team. And I don't believe that. I think that if Kansas City got into the playoffs as wild card football team, they're still very dangerous. You have Travis Kelce, Tyree kale, Patrick Mahomes. I mean, I would not want my favorite team to play Kansas City in the wild card round. I don't have one. But if I was a fan, I'd be like, if my team played Kansas City in the wild card round of the playoffs I'd be like, oh, man, I don't feel great, 'cause Kansas City can beat anybody any day. I mean, just whenever you have Patrick Mahomes and Kyrie kill and that explosive tight end, Travis Kelce sorry, but you always have an opportunity and Casey could absolutely get to a Super Bowl with a wildcard team. So if I'm a chiefs fan, I'm not panicking at all. Relax, you're fine. You're great. You're not as good as your last year. Accept it. You're going to lose the division to LA, but oh well, make it into the playoffs. You can still win from there. And the Eli Manning can win a Super Bowl as a wildcard team, Patrick Mahomes certainly came. Okay Raphael writes and he says, hey Zach, I just watched the London game this morning. So you wrote this last week. I have to say, I was unimpressed to say the least with the jets quarterback, Zach Wilson. You speak highly of him, but watching him play, I'm seeing multiple red flags. He lacked anticipation, was inconsistent with this technique that resulted in multiple inaccurate throws and an interception and interception worthy throws, even the deep throws were unimpressive. Am I crazy? He looks like the typical NFL bust. A guy with a big arm, but bad habits still early, however, was it just one bad game? Thank you for reading, hope you're doing well. Raphael, it's funny actually, it's not just one bad game. It's Zach Wilson's been struggle in this year. And I say that knowing full well, like I love the guy..

"The mason minute. With Kevin mason. I've been a sports fan all of my life, but I've actually gone from being more of a rabid sports fan to just a casual fan over the years. But the other night when I heard the news about the new ESPN Monday Night Football mega cast with Peyton and Eli Manning, I had to check it out. And I think I saw the future of sports broadcasting. With that said, I actually did sports play by play in college, thought about doing it professionally, but I saw it the other night and said this is where we're going. Sure, there may always be a play by play guy at professional like what I once was, but sitting there listening to two guys just casually watching a game and then all the plays don't really matter. But what they said mattered more. It may not be patent in Eli which everybody say it works because their brothers and works so well together. But imagine just doing this with all different sports. Having different ways to watch the game. Sure, there may be one traditional play by play going, but imagine being able to do this with a lot of pro players and having visitors come in and out and being a part of the gang. Feel like you're right there with them on the couch or in the bar hanging out and having a good time. That's only ten games this football season on Monday night, but I think it's going to be huge.

"Less your employer then. Espn is the host for your producing ambitions as it was for kobe bryant as it was for kevin durant as it kinda was for 'em j because he had a tasted the last dance that that's interesting to me too because it. That's that's different from the way that sports. Tv is almost always worked and often there was a tier of guys just had no interest in it because they made so much money. They've been so successful and they're just like i don't need this but if you're telling them it's not us making you go to orchard park into a game you're doing it from home and hey you're producing the game right. This is this part of your shingle. You're you're turning you into a media type a media figure. That is more interesting to these guys. I think than than working for him in agra normal way i agree but from a football standpoint guys command that i think it's too. I think it's peyton manning and tom brady for this. Particular thing for this particular thing is like getting to call a game I think in the nba. It's it's it's it's the same. It's three upper-echelon guys would be able to do this and not be able to travel and do it from their home You know i just. I think that there are a couple of lessons here. That networks need to fight the temptation of and one of them is kinda doing what you're talking about here and all of a sudden we're giving you know were giving due in three years when he retires. Pete carroll has careless media company has his own show like that that that to me if this is a payton exclusive situation and the other networks missed out on him and so we're in the wrong lessons is His worst sense than learning. No lessons in spot. Yes that would be. It's gonna be it's gonna pretty rare. It's going to be pretty where couple other notes from tonight. We knew there were going to be anecdotes about the manning's own plane careers. We had lots of jokes about their lack of mobility. Which i guess. You'd expect in a lamar jackson game Also other did enjoy peyton bringing up how much the ravens defense haunted him. That phone that felt is discussion. And the highlights adele up. Were really funny. I'm going to butcher the line but did eli have the line of the night. Where he said. The helmet payton played with when with the broncos. Would you rather have it filled with quarters or ten thousand dollars cash. Did you hear that i did. I did everybody see i. That was the line of the night. But i'm not really sure it landed with the group. Yes it was really fun and with us. It was really fun and funny. He's working he's he lays intellectual comedian he showed that onslaught newsday he works. He works at all kinds of levels. I couldn't believe it. He really he was an all time. Slot newsday guests until jeff. Fisher comes on tomorrow. Yeah oh that's oh there. You go a little preview for all you slow newsday fans. The kid made me funny. Was the way. They searched by the right by the way jason. Jason witten was on slow news day. Not great yeah. Probably the worst one ever sorry. Jason does slow news day. Does you know there is some traits. The carryover that's all. I did like the way they were cheering on the quarterbacks to make good place i like that and this is always a thing when guys are fresh off the field or fairly fresh off the field like these two guys are but they just seem to have a knowledge of who's playing right now like peyton continually referencing. Tom brady being mad about the new jersey numbers and felt like he was doing that. In a kind of organic. Way of like yeah. I know tom brady. We make jokes about each other. Some of the hall of fame the other day kind of thing. I i did that. Over lamar fumble. We have lamar fumble. Peyton can't handle that right now. Payton just visibly upset. I have a couple of Peyton manning before we go you want here my please do and i have one question for you. Okay let's do the question. I will close guy notes. Give me the best sport where this transfer is most easily baseball baseball. I saw some people's talking about golf. Possibly because mooring at all is the slower the sport the more sort of. Yeah the more time you have between golf shot and again the more the more slack. You're gonna give some story that goes nowhere was kind of funny. Woody had golf and the people were off site like the are and they didn't have to talk in the hushed voice when over the crowd and they would just did it a different way in and you know who that would be in golf. It'd be tighter frigging woods or equation. Gosh now there's there's another guy who's going to get his own now if he wanted his. Own alternate telecast. Within his product heiser cast. I think tiger wood Be able to lock that down. Got a couple of notes or peyton manning number one. We don't need to read tweets on the air we just. I think it's as television. I know that's like the number one idea everybody has we're all if you if you have a message i'd rather. They did like a text from archie. That said stop scratching your head. Your mom says that which i did notice payton was scratching his headlines actually still scratching his head as i watch right now. That.

"Felt like that was sort of pretty obvious. Right and You know. I think it's going to be here absolutely nice value for anyone that drafted him. So i i know what my actual take away all. Talk about the rookies in just a minute but just one of the quickly say yesterday was a reminder. We don't talk about the stars all the time. Because was there to say christian. Mccaffrey and dr kelsey reminded you why they are the two biggest difference maker in fantasy football yup christian mccaffrey. Twenty russia's nine catches travis. Kelsey six for seventy six in two touchdowns. He was quiet early for the gs. He went off but my real takeaway. Is that the path for two former alabama. Wide receivers is clear to fantasy this season especially in philadelphia or devante. Smith had a great game. Six for seventy one on eight targets a touchdown for devante smith jalen waddell. Meanwhile at four catch a sixty one yard touchdown he had the only touchdown catch of the day for the miami. Dolphins will fuller was not playing yesterday preston williams and not playing yesterday so it wasn't all the usual suspects there for miami but these guys have a legit shot at a weekly roll inside your lineup to find. What was your big takeaway from yesterday though rookie. Quarterback's had a solid day. Even though it wasn't all wins for them across the board. It was a nice solid for three rookie. Quarterback's it was nice to see trevor lawrence. Obviously with some challenge. There got a lot of air yards mostly as a result of having to try to play. Catchup did three picks his first loss in the regular season. Ever heikal find your hold on though. It looks like your main topic is i. Can't believe the lions hovered. That's what's weird if you're watching the screen. It's a surprise me take away. I can't believe the line over blindsided by the graphics like enter. now i'm not even. I'm not even going to acknowledge it with remark. the i was just. Yeah the rug out from underneath me. And i got ever rooted for the lions is harder way watch and matthew was sitting next to me at the table mexico because we have to be socially distant god because i had to keep him arms link yelling rooting for the lions. Like four hundred. What a poor sport. Just because you're i suppose it depends on a great frenemies today for one day. Finally forget daniel. Tell me we're still wanna know and you're not. Hey i am the detroit lions for self. I'll get to my take away here real quickly and the show but the detroit lions first place detroit. Thank you very much. Did we score more points than anyone else in the nfc north by by chance to be the highest scoring team in that division. I got i got j. hopkinson. Listen i just want to point out. And it's gonna make you wanna make you feel badly daniel about gloating. Jason brett suffered a horrible injury. Did when he went out. The lions scored sixteen answered. Yes they did now. If you want to feel good about how you got your points. I feel good about tj hodgkinson's because he looked absolutely amazing. He's everything that i feel like. We talked about him. Being this off season with how bad this offense is jared. Goff is going to have to check it down to him. He somebody that they love in the red zone. I don't feel like they have anyone else really trust. He's a guy that if drafted him at tight end. I am all in like top three tight end from me right now. This season i think is going to. We're going to finish the year. Twenty five point seven famously pashtun three three then towards mark andrews. I'm going to say george kittles going to be out of my top three quarterback situation no longer bad blood between instant manifested during the portion of this podcast. I love by the way. I like stirring it up getting out of the way monday night football and tennis to watch the ravens traveled to play. The las vegas raiders. What's going to be fun. We tremendous broadcast team of steve levy flanked by brian greasy. And also louis riddick. Lisa saulters john perry on the field and tonight the debut of the manning cast on. Espn two if you want to listen to peyton manning and his brother eli talk about football. I'm sure we pretty darn entertaining for matthew and daniel and stefan. You're i am feel. Thanks for watching fantasy focus presented by ea madden nfl. Twenty-two tomorrow will be reacting to monday night. Football edition breaking down the players. All right during the live look and we talked about the washington football team going to change their nickname. I stay with washington's washington football team. I think it's it. It sounds good regal. i mean we. We've gotten past the well. It's kind of awkward. It just washington football team. And i liked the logo. Here are the the names. The possible names read. Hogs defenders are mata washington football team. Red wolves presidents brigade commanders. What will they go with. what should they go with. Let's talk about what they should avoid red hogs now. We're past the hawks a long time ago defenders. Okay what if you don't have a good defense or what about your offense. We're the defenders okay. Armata no washington football team. That's the one i would go with. Red wolves presidents no commanders. No the obvious answer is the washington football brigade. That's what i would go with unless you stay with washington football team which i would i think they're going to go with brigade and they should go with the brigade unless they stay with the washington. Football team yes. I don't love forgotten like any of them. But if i had to pick one. I would say defenders only because you're in the capital and you're defending the nation and i understand that there's gonna be a lot of plays on words if your defense is terrible but i think washington defended. I could live with that of that group of native right mclovin about gridlock washing. You know what i'm saying for non. Just k- i like watching football team like you said i think it's kind of cool and unique and they should just stick with it. Okay brigades awesome to that. I would like that but watching football team be number one all right seton. This is funny because no matter what they choose. It's going to be the wrong one for a large portion of the population right. Okay i do like brigade though. That's the out of that list. That's the one that stood out to me but i would also preferred. They just stay with watching. Did football team paulie. I think they will go with armada. It's very generic. It doesn't make people upset or excited. It's very milk toast. And that's why the probably go with it. I liked commanders. Because i like calling people commander like hey. What's up commander. Poleus pin famously. Didn't know anybody's name. There's lots of people walk around the halls and even go. Hey chief commander as for the sport. I think you referred. You is winter to call you seton. First couple of months commander commander. And then after i knew after i like truly knew him he was just like just one day like this off. Handed comment was like you know what. I'd like to do for people that like. I don't really have any respect for anything. I just giving them like a title. That's like way above what they really are like. Commanders something okay boss. All right thanks thanks. Start for the denver broncos. Probably so would you rather be a team with no chance but still be interesting. Because the texans aren't interesting there are only interesting. If to shawn watson plays and they have no chance of making the plans yes compared to the the jaguars alot win. But it's okay interesting. Have lions they have dan campbell. They're kind of interesting. I mean you don't tune into watch coach very often. Dan campbell's good during the week. I don't know what he's gonna do. I mean if he's if he biting kneecaps on the field during a game. You're not suit up jared goff. The story is interesting. I don't know if watching jared goff is going to be interesting. There's a difference in that. The giants to me are interesting because it daniel jones saquon barkley. I don't know if they're going to be any good. But they do have some storylines. They're mclovin daniel jones interesting in the same sentence. Well interesting trampling on the fifteen yard. The situation is interesting because this. Is you decide if you wanna keep that quarterback or you move on and you wasted if that's the case. She wasted a big number on that draft pick. Yeah paul dana's jones by check. This nickname is dan buddies. Horsing around back home is he the. Nba's joe johnson in a weird way. I root for daniel jones to have some type of up spike in his career. So you don't just talk about him tripping on that run like us for us had a decent career but the but is his or las. He's got the end zone thing and he's got a very successful career but dana jones needs some moments. How many guys okay. You just brought up to great ones. Orlovsky has has carved out a great career at the mothership gusts for rod scored a touchdown and then got injured with headbutt headbutting. the the side of the stadium. He heard his neck. Daniel jones is the guy who tripped is. There's somebody else who comes up. Jim marshall who played for the vikings. He ran the wrong way but he was a hall of famer. Leon lett leeann. Let but leon went to the pro bowl a couple times but it doesn't matter it's leon lett and the fumble actually leon lett had two of them. Didn't he have on thanksgiving where the ball's rolling around you're not supposed to touch it. And then he went to try to pick it up and it's now yeah and then the super bowl where don beebe chases him down from behind. And he doesn't score a touchdown in the super bowl. Gus for the quarterback. He was in league for fourteen years. He had one hundred starts. It wasn't like he was there for ten minutes. One hundred fourteen crew touch on actually made a pro bowl one year. But if you google his name. What's the first video that comes up. Yes mclovin i'll you the other one. That's not fair. Jackie smith tight end Famous i know the super bowl drop right. Yeah the cowboys against the steelers. And he had a tutton they were coming back. I think roger staubach they were coming back against the steelers. In jackie smith hall of famer spent most of his career with the saint louis cardinals and he dropped it. Amick love well. let's see. I don't remember it. Wasn't there dolphins. Kicker who fumbled something in the super bowl you premium who is a hall of famer to i. I think he wasn't no he's famous though and he had one of the super bowl plays of all time. Well that was a horrible super bowl. I think the fourteen seven. Mike bass i picked up. The fumble scored the touchdown mark sanchez. Known for the bud fumble any and he went to the afc title game a couple of time. Couple tumbled times if you think about the ones sent him out on twitter to us but Somebody when you say their name. They're known for one thing when we come back. The washington football team is going to change. Its nickname we don't know win but we learned earlier this morning that they're going to reveal a new name they have about seven or eight names. Now they're going to narrow that down in basically judge public sentiment here. I'm gonna tell you the no brainer. I'm going to tell you the names that they can't go with. "Let's take away. Say i did. Yeah i threw after my most four now. Let's say you're an analyst watching a performance where somebody throws six interceptions you know. Every every intersection has a story. And you can. You can have an excuse. The thing is nobody really wants to hear the story in the coaches. Don't wanna hear there's always receive ran the wrong route. There's always this ball gets dip. They you know You know we're down on trying to force something. Everyone has a story No one really wants to hear it. And you know it's Sometimes are just. They're just contagious. Interceptions can be contagious. You start going one you thank you. Hey whatever you do don't another reception and once you start thinking that way they just keep up. You can't help it. You know southern bad's about that and you just can't pull it back. Yeah i came up with a stat called shared blame interceptions. Sbi that way you know after the game the receiver can say that's on me. It shouldn't be on you before. I never say that. They never never never happened before before. I get to your plug with verizon. Derek jeter into the hall of fame. You of course spent your career there in new york. How did you know you were wired to be able to deal with new york. Coming from new orleans. You know i did it. No i think You know. I think i do have a little bit more of a kind of laid back personality where you know things. Don't don't always bother me if someone says something bad about me. I don't i don't take offence to it. I don't vote budges. it's not that a ruined my day You know so just the ability to kind of handled that new york media. I give i give peyton and and cooper a lot of credit for them just beaten up on me all the time when i was growing up and they said if you tell anybody or you complain are you. Tell mom we're gonna make it worse to next time. So i i was not allowed to complain or cry or say anything about it so i could as easily just forget about it and move on and i'd see him the next day after they just gave me an atomic wedgie and and pulled down my pants. You know bunch of girls. So i've just you know i could still love him. The next day it'd be happy and and just be okay at any situation. I was in. And i think that's out of prepared for the new york media and the new york and dealing with the ups and downs kind of never getting to hide everything to low. They pulled your pants down in front of girls. Yeah mardi gras mardi. I'm like hands up you know. It's just a perfect situation. Just come behind the the pants down. I'm in some old school tidy. Whitey's not not a good look. What are you doing with verizon. Yeah we got the vries in baiji multi view so Vries does a great job of just the innovation technology during games at the stadium. So they're in. They're in seven different stadiums this year. They're in bette life so for giants stains. I'm going to the giants game this sunday to be in person. And so if you log into the giants app of they have the verizon where you have seven different camera angles where you can watch replays. You can watch the game you can see you know hey. this guy. in on the sideline ended the ball across the goal. Line to get that touchdown. So you don't have to wait on the jumbotron for the for the replay can be right there on your fall within that app and and kind of get all the the cool angles of you can be right on the quarterback. Whatever how are you gonna watch this creating that in game experience act while you're at the game to give me all that technology and features to even enjoy it more. Are you wearing your jersey to the game. I was thinking about that. I was just this morning. I was like what am i going to wear to the game. I mean everybody networks jersey store where my own jersey take shape on jersey. You know. I don't think that he was wearing his own jersey. I've i've often thought about that. But but when you are then it looks weird backfire you know. No that's definitely him. You get busted wearing your jersey. Then it's what. What is he doing jersey. But i have thought no one would not the wears own jersey. It can't be him. We'll leave a below. Good luck with verizon and good luck on monday night. Great to talk to you again. Thank you always. Dan good to being with your path. That's eli manning her to see a verizon you know when they stop playing they have a better sense of humor and you got a great job there. Monday night with your brother back and forth just have a little bit of fun. Can you watch as just a fan or are you going to process this. As a former quarterback peyton could watch a game without dissecting things plus we make the mistake. I've made this mistake before. In fact i remember talking to troy. Aikman when troy aikman was going to go into the booth with joe buck and i said. Are you ready to be critical of players. Then he gave a great answer because he said look. It's not you know you're criticizing as much as you're analyzing and there's there's a difference in that because we can critique somebody else can critique but sometimes you'll get the analyst who points out everything that's involved in it and analyzes that and he's going to get to these moments where somebody's going to have a bad game but he might focus on the person who's having a good game as a result of you having a bad game if you throw four interceptions. Are you then going to complement. The defensive rush. Are you going to complement the defensive back. It might not be as critical as it is analytical and this is what. I've made this mistake before. With guys getting into broadcasting. Are you able to say something. And i said this to tony. Dungy and rodney harrison and looking back. I probably shouldn't have. It's just analyzed the game. now you're going to be accused of being critical but just analyze the game. And if you go into that approach then you'll look at it and you'll be honest with what you see instead of saying boy house is going to be. Perceived can't play favorites and rodney would be critical of the of the patriots. And there were times. When i would press tony. Dungy about peyton manning and these are really good teams that are playing but that peyton and eli are going to be fine because they're going to be together talking about it. If i'm hosting with them i would be pushing them a little bit more. Probably the reason why. I'm not hosting the alternate monday night. Football and the fact that i don't work. Spn as well that. I think it's interesting that this is. This is something. I propose to amazon last year. Not with peyton and eli but can you get just to players former players and you just sit around and you just watch the game but you have somebody who sort of is the traffic cop. There and You know it never got far with that. I'm not sure what amazon's doing on thursday nights once they take over from fox. But that was something that i proposed. Can you get guys in a relaxed situation. Who will just talk to you. And i know that. Espn does the mega cast. And you. have you know former coaches in there. I wanted players with players. And i stay out of the way all you do is basically roll out the ball and go all right you guys play and let me know when you need me and and that was something that i thought could work on thursday nights with amazon but monday night with these two and then they'll have guessed they'll be in there and i think it'll be it'll be a great listen in particular because peyton i think that he he will provide that insight. I'm always curious why. Eli never got an omaha omaha. He didn't have one. At least i can't remember. Eli with a omaha oma but you know payton kind of cornered the market on omaha omaha and then occasionally get rothlisberger would say something. That was kind of funny from a tv show or movie. Aaron rodgers would.

Eli manning the two time super bowl champ and co hosting and alternate monday night football broadcast with his big brother. Peyton back on the program. Good to see eli. When's the last time you had a true fistfight with peyton. I don't know if i've ever had true fistfight You know there's been some wedgies given From both sides of us that was the most recent thing but you know. He's five years older. Basil peyton cooper. Two years apart. They definitely had the fights me. It was more avs taking the brunt of a lot of the harassment of being the younger the younger child and so now nowadays. We're forty is forty five. You know he. He kind of knows better. Not domestic manny moore. Who would be more likely to be able to play in a game this weekend. You or paid. I think. I gotta i gotta take that one day. You know i I think just. I saw him throw the other day we had. We had our high school football camp back in july and it it wouldn't come out real good so he And that was stolen like a high school like little ball. So i think you'd get that. Nfl ball. i don't think he's ready. How does brady continue to do it. I have no idea i. It's it's. I'm not surprised by it but it just. I'm still amazed by and what he was able to do last year. A change in teams and new organization after twenty years and You know a new offense know trying to learn that offense in a shorten all season and still get in there and in create the same result. So you know. I don't know how he does it himself. But also just convinces the team that they're you know they're super bowl. Ready eric tender and the fastest start. They lost the week. One didn't didn't play great but you know he just got better in and guys rally around the defense played outstanding and and he's got something were He he has the ability to lead those. Those guys The great thanks all right now that you're an analyst. I can ask you this. Who's a better quarterback. Tom brady or payden currently today. Tom brady currently correct right. The stack career is that politically correct. Yes it is now. It's one of those deals you could. You could argue this over a little biased to my brother. Because i've seen it first hand just a way in he just he led. The team made the players around him so much better. But obviously you gotta look at at tom's career and just a you know winning winning championships and and that's what he's been able to do. And you know And so you know who had a better better career. You could flip a coin. Or who's a better quarterback you know. They're both amazing. And you'd want any of a on your team to to delete a franchise for long talk. Do where you're super bowl rings. I do not have not worn them in a long time and You know they're just they're they're big and now they're even get bigger although once last year and you can't even you know you you would hurt somebody. If you shake someone's hand you're scratch them her own hand. They're getting too big. I need like a mini one. That maybe i brought this up a couple of months ago. Why not have one. That's sort of like a class ring that allowed to wear it all the time that you still have that one. You put away in a safety deposit box. How about we start a business where we come up with wearable super bowl rings. I'm all in. I think this is a this is a goal. This goal jerry You know so. I i mean i i agree. You can't wear thing and now you're worried you might lose. Did you take it all sin. So i guess getting one. We can wear your class ring that a. We were the champions. Here's my here's my many by mini rink. I give me your philosophy with you and peyton to monday night. The alternate monday night broadcast. What's the game plan. Game plan assists. Hey we're we're we're on our couches in our living room watching buddy night football together. We haven't we haven't done that in probably. Twenty five years is watch the monday night. football game together and he'll be denver albeit new jersey. But we're still watching the same game we're talking we're telling old stories about those teams or playing in that in that stadium just also sudden we hear certain words being called in the game or a play and we have a story so it's very casual. It's very just the you know just having fun. We'll get the really analyzed some of the plays and talk group then also skip over you. A lot of you know runs for two yards. We don't need to discuss. Who who is carrying the ball for that two yard run and what happened. So we'll we'll bring some guests in there to have some conversations and so it's just it should be a fun way the watch football game and and learn a little bit about kind of behind the scenes of playing quarterback being in nfl. And what's going on in the huddle. What's going on the sideline. What are they looking at when they see the tablet. What's at offense coordinator. You know yelling at that guy. What what did he do wrong. What's going on in all these situations ally. Manning won two super bowls of course with the giants. You wants through. I think six picks against the chargers. That sound i danced peyton hated. Oh sorry about that. How would you as an analyst look at that performance..

"We'll have guests coming on to take their mind a little bit but we will give you a little inside the huddle. Hey what's going on. You know this quarterback to said this. What does that mean. What's going on on the sideline if they're looking at those tablets what's happening in the locker room right now So we'll give it a little inside scoop football. We will analyze every single play. Be there's a run for two yards. We're not gonna talk about that play. We'll continue our story. We'll tell something but we will analyze. There's a really cool place we can go back. We can rewind we can watch the replay. We can show you why this plane was successful. Why does play wasn't successful. What the defense was trying to accomplish here all those things. The great thing about playing quarterback is that you know the responsibility of everybody on the field from the offense align to the running backs to the defense and and no one you know what coverages are playing what they're supposed to be doing who've made the mistake so we'll give you that inside. Look into the game. Tom brady may have nine super bowls by now if it wasn't for you taking to away from him. What what blue. What is your reaction to. Tom saying that this at the is is forty four and his avocado tolson avocado ice cream that this could be his best season ever. Nothing surprises me with tom anymore. It's just it's incredible and you know last year. I kind of thought a him him. Changing organizations that for twenty years go into a new offense in a shortened season Not having the offseason. I said at the as i think he could struggle think he could have some tough times and he kinda struggled early only played great at first but he quickly caught back on. Got on the same page. And i think there was that Kinda give and take between. Bruce arians and tom about what plays you want to run. We gotta run someplace. That i'm comfortable with because i've been doing this for twenty years. And so there was some give and take and both of them this getting on the same page but he was playing his best football at the end of the year And there's no reason for me to think that's an a slow down. Because i know how hard it works. And how committed he is and he's got this great ability To to raise the level play of the people around him. And that's on offense. That's on defense. For whatever reason those guys step up. And i don't think they're going to be slowing down. At least they're hungry. Try to go win another championship. And the fact is every time tom brady. Does something great you lies sitting there. Going beat that guy twice in the super bowl super bowl. Mvp's claim the same symbol. I was too okay. Why else are you here with us today. You lie here today. to talk about verizon there fi g both of you so reisen. Nfl done a great job teaming up and just working on innovation making the fan experience so much better and so i'm gonna get to experience this week. I'm going to the giants game. Their home opener bringing my kids or family in making this a tradition. And so at the game if you log in through the job for me the giants app They'll be the verizon multi view their seven cameras going at the same time different angles the end zone. You can see replays Did this guy catch it at the sideline. Did this guy cross the end zone. Hey i just want to watch the quarterback you can watch that so it's making that in game experience in the technology so much better so i'm excited checking out and get the you know it's at seven different stadiums nine teams Will be using across. Nfl but metlife is one of them. So i'm excited to Get there in checkout out. What brian's doing with the multi view ally. Thanks a million for joining us today. Thank you for the two super bowls and it's okay. You can admit it. Whenever tom brady does something you'll like. Yeah yeah i got. I got i got that guy twice. Come on back thanks. Thanks a lot friendship. A lot of is the great ally manning. Those were the as a sports fan. "Nothing much other than the few wins. Just kidding No i think will be a good team Saquon barkley come back. I think that'll help him out Daniel jones has a lot to prove people ready to run him out of new york if he doesn't advanced him and make them look like a team that could compete in division. Dave gettleman saying based on players he signed in picked. I think that they will compete. Though i liked joe judge competitive nature as a head coach. they're probably they're probably nine. I would say probably nine ten win type team. Nine or ten wins really. That's what i think. I think there are anonymous. Say i thought that before the preseason what bothers men okay you could talk about like what you can and can't tell the preseason what bothers me so much though you come into a job if you're gettleman and you know what the issue is. It's the old line year in and year out. It's the offensive line. You say that's your priority. You gotta fix that. That's what you say. The introductory press conference hog. Molly's you gotta fix the line guys. It's not just that. They miss on draft. Picks like they pass up. Better lineman for less reliant in first round flowers and thomas. it's they also don't cutch coach up because like flowers leaves the giants now. He's a starting tackle. he's pretty good. He was no good with them so the line. Both from drafting and development remains a glaring weakness. Jay and i'd love to believe key that they could win ten games and i thought maybe they could before i saw the light and the preseason again yeah only their second. This is on the second unit. Second time around with this office staff. So you gotta give them an opportunity to develop those guys think about it. They fired offense. Allying coach in the middle of the season. Every team in this division has weaknesses for sure. All right so i understand. I've harped about the line for a long time. It is what it is right now. You gotta go out there and do what you gotta do what you got so if i look at the giants of saying okay struggles a little but we still have a lot of offense of talent. Defense is middle of the pack defensively. They got better be good if they got a lot. Better last year. Right okay so eagles. Are we putting him in that conversation. Continue for division not really. We're not sure to upset with jalen hurts. Defense we talk about the dallas cowboys always being a glaring issue. What they bring to the table offensively and in washington. What do they get offensively. We're ryan patrick. So look i think this is a division of questions about a lot of teams and it's about which team can actually grow them. I think the potential there for dallas and for the giants are probably higher. Because i don't see ripest. Patrick really going to another level this year insulate for to washington football up. Look who we have. We have a man now. Ladies and gentlemen who five thirty eight when they were on. Espn once did a thing. Who's the most clutch quarterback in the history of postseason. Eli wanted by their metrics. They invented by so much they redid it. They said no. No one can be this far ahead of everyone else. They actually redid the way they did it. And guess who one ally again but this time. It was close over joe montana and areas the most clutch quarterback according to five thirty eight in the history of football in the playoffs ally. Welcome to the show and thank you for winning. Those two super bowls as the giants fan. Never gotten to do that for you. Personally thanks for coming. Max regret to be grabby on with you guys. You were with a daniel jones as a rookie and we've heard a lot of people think that he can take that step forward this season. What are you expecting from the giants quarterback this year. Yeah i do. I think he will to take that step forward. Just because i think the fact that it is his second year within this offense last year you know a new offense new head coach new offensive coordinator. He's a young quarterback and it's not just him. It's a new left tackle. They were trying to learn. New offense new lou saquon early just a lot of things that were that. Make it tough. I think the fact that you know had a more of an off season this year. you know. Build that relationship with coach geared And they've put some weapons behind them getting sake one back at the offense line would be better in their second year so i i've seen firsthand just how hard daniel works. I know how important it is to own for him to be a successful player. I know he knows this year is a big year form. But he's not that's not going to put pressure on admits that is going to make him Excel and do better. So i'm rooting form And i think he has the work ethic the skill set to make those plays now. He's he's made the mistakes he's gonna learn from those and i think he can go out there and have a big year alive hadn't haven't played in this league for very long time and having success that you had you know the importance of having a dominant running back in a running game. Would you play saquon barkley and week one. If he's healthy. Assume you know. I've always wondered why. Why sit some guy week. One and also their plan. You know week to their full. Go what what's happening and that one or two weeks after his head you know Ten months to recover. So i know the giants will be sparked. And do it's right but if he's rain to play i think you've got to get them out there getting reps and whether he's a starter where you might not get thirty carries week one but you know just to get them in the game. Get his confidence going. Get his feel back going catching the football field and the rush taken a hit. All those things need to happen. A little bit for him Just to get back in the feel of things. So he's such a dominant player They need him To be successful this year running. The football catching the football. And then when he's on the field it changes the game plan Of the defense and they got to prepare for different things and so it should open up other players. And they have the skill set on the outside kinney golladay and sterling shepard seven-day grim and these guys to get them get them the ball. Let them make some plays. Eli speaking of skill. Set you and your brother. Peyton have a skill set which will be on display on monday night football. Which we're all excited to pay attention to the raiders versus the ravens. What kind inside can you provide about. What what would that feel like for you. You and your brother to be on the same talking about football some nazem doing all your lives. "Update read by me derek. Jeeter and three others were inducted into the hall of fame yesterday. And guys i watched the speech and i gotta tell you something man that was emotional for me and it's not because of anything jeeter said jeeter gave his standard. Ceo speech right. He didn't step in anything he was. He hit all the right. Not set all the right things but i don't think he said anything that would move someone normally emotionally except that there's something about baseball at least for me. My dad show three years old. I'm like hearing about baseball. Grew up in the shadow of yankee stadium. And all that. During the fifty he's watched dimaggio mantle play and also growing up watching reggie jackson. Ron gigiri greg. Nettles these guys you know when you see maybe because it's played out doors maybe 'cause it's demarcation of time maybe because the careers are so long but i was grown. I was grown when geeta broke into the bigs and he helped restore the yankees brand to the dominant position in baseball right. They were good sometimes not good. Other times they wanna world some world series in the seventy but they were like a lot of other teams over the last several decades before jeter got there. Then he turned back into the yankees along with others bernie williams and other mariano rivera but they were a dominant. A win won the world series like every year right. There's something about watching a guy come into the league. You're grown when that happens and now you're at the age i'm at the age of forty eight years old. I'm watching his hall of fame speech and he played twenty years so as he's talking i'm thinking about the way it's connected emotionally by the way my life has changed the people in my life that were. They're gone now. You know past or moved on like it's connected to so much for me that went i was just. It was a hard hitting emotional moment. Even though the speech itself if you just read it wouldn't be an emotional speech. You know what i mean but for me it hit hard. Did you guys watch it at all. I watched it for me. The the initial comment about the one vote. He didn't get you. See for me when i first got drafted. I i've known of derek for a while and being born and raised in new jersey new york. I've spent some time with dares me onto a lot of game just in life. He is still one of the most competitive dues. I've ever met. I think that's why him. And michael jordan are so close. It's funny when you look at him though. And you see like this laid back demeanor. And he's first class but even that that little dig. Those are things that drive guys. Like derek jeter and also led me to believe him like. Who's that one do like. Why don't they make their ballots public. I want to know who that one guy abuna moxie to vote not him being a hall of fame. I wanna know who that one guy is that it. Also that comment on top of everything you just said max that one comment that i heard that one little jab that epitomize derek. Jeter is to me too. Because there there is some pettiness to him that really pushes him over the limit to being one of the best. We've ever seen key. There's always somebody that yes doesn't like your game won't vote for you. Whatever the case was good to see him. Get in longtime derek jeeter fan. That's always amazing. To see a jeeter. I know the numbers. Don't say it and you can't prove it. He always gave me the feeling every field. He stepped on he was the best player and and baseball stats guys. And i'm one would laugh at that normally. I'm just saying he was the guy you wanted on your team. The way he was talking about. I don't care what the numbers i want tom. Brady you wanna derek jeter. Eli manning speaking of clutch players joins us next. That's after key. Has this from straight talk. Wireless five jeez here. But the big carriers want you to sign a pricey long term contract to get.

"Start the season. you can use it on any number of bets. Whoever has the most money at the end of the year wins joe. You got pressure on you to win. There's pressure on you so we'll let you make the picks. I who are you taking all right so i would take two games this weekend. Hundred dollar bankroll so. I'm going to start small one. Bigger bet is going to be the los angeles rams minus seven and a half over the chicago bears. I'll lay five dollars on that right. That'll be the bet. Five dollars and fifty cents to win five dollars The main reason why all the talk in chicago's about the quarterback position should it be field. Should it be dalton. What everyone's forgetting is that. That offensive line is a mess. That quarterback position is a major question mark. And you're going to la to take on the rams sunday night. Football packed house batum offensive lines do not travel. Well keyshawn can tell you that. And they're going to be in trouble against a team that ranked number one in total defense number one in scoring defense last season. So i think the rams have no problems covering oh by the way. Sean mcveigh four years at la. We won four. No straight up four. No against the spread. His defense is giving up around fifteen points per game in those matchups. He breaks the gate very very well. The addition of stafford's going to be huge five dollars and fifty cents to win five dollars on the ran's minus seven and a half over the bears pick number two three dollars and thirty cents to win three dollars. It's the washington football team plus one against the chargers. Love the washington defense playing at home. Great head coach ron rivera. Go back to rivera's start in carolina. All of his weak ones. Since he's been the head coach defense is giving up only about sixteen points per game and week one. They play extremely well. Fitzpatrick is an upgraded quarterback. Say what you want. He can manage the game and protect the football. They're playing at home. The chargers have rookie head coach coming across the country for an early. Start time here..

"You see where. I'm going here so ultimately you want to be on the right side of that number you wanna be on the right side of you wanna be on the right side of force and now we're at eight and a half. The value with tampa bay is likely gone. But if you like a six point teaser which is a special way to play a bet. You can move the point. Spread six points in your favor so you can play tampa bay moving from eight and a half down to two and a half. You'll need to win by three. What's the catch. You need a second team in that teaser. And they need to cover their spread as well. Gee could take a team like the san francisco. Forty niners move their spread from seven and a half to one and a half and if the niners beat the lions by two and the buccaneers. Beat the cowboys by three. You end up cashing that ticket. Six point play early thursday morning. Little knowledge dropped here on getting a parlay get key. Got it all right. Let's roll through a couple of profits tonight. Let's let's roll through a couple of prop bets. Joe when it comes to tonight amari cooper the over under his five and a half perceptions. I'd looked under their dallas. Could find itself in a situation where they're down in this game and they're throwing a lot late but you have to remember a few things number. One cooper is gonna be battling for a lot of share time with all the other players on that team. Michael gallup cd. Land ezekiel elliott can catch passes out of the backfield. What's the status of the dallas. Offense line was that martin out house. Dak prescott gonna look considering the fact. He has taken a meaningful snaps since week. Five last season variables here and oh by the way. You're on the road packed house at raymond james stadium. Lots of crowd noise in this game the under his juiced. Meaning the under the here. I agree with that assessment. I play under five and a half percent. You will go under this considering with their own. Line being decimated the mountains at dhaka's going to have to throw the ball you and importantly what you said. They could be playing hide. They could be playing from behind. Six receptions is a lot. We could have said the same thing about kansas city. Rolling up big receptions against this defense last year as well. That's the thing if you're dallas. You're going on the road. You're going to deal with that crowd noise. A lot of teams didn't deal with that last year. Last year was historic year for road teams scoring and winning on the road because they didn't have to deal with any crowd noise. Now you're going to know hostile environment. You gotta communicate. At the line of scrimmage if prescott doesn't have the time to get the ball out of his hands because of the pass rush and the dallas offensive line which is battling injuries. It doesn't matter how many times he throws it. They're not going to be able to complete any passes. Joe more pressing yards. Dak or brady all right. So brady's prop is three hundred and five yards debts to ninety five so the bookmakers telling you brady has the slight edge. I give brady the slight edge. Because i think they're gonna come out gunning in this game if you look at what happened with tampa bay last season all the way up until the by they were what seven and five. They were okay but they had a big learning curve. They had to go through and then they came off that by after getting beat by kansas city and they went eight. No the rest of the way including the playoffs. Eight no straight up. Six two against the spread winning by an average of fourteen points per game. Brady's got the full complement of weapons back at his disposal. From brown to evans to godwin they bring geo bernard out of the backfield is a guy who can catch passes on third down. I don't know if they're going to need all four quarters to throw in this game. But i do know that when brady starts throwing early. He's gonna have tie. And even though dallas has moved on from nolan to quinn in the defensive coordinator department it's probably gonna take some time to work out the kinks with the new system. I side with brady here. More dis zeke. Or cooper probably would go with ezekiel elliott in this one mostly. Because how many times is he going to touch the ball versus amari cooper right cooper. Even if he goes over his receptions total by one he's going to have six touches in this game. Zeke's gonna catch the ball field as well but he's also going to run the ball. He could see the ball twenty times in this game ultimately. I think when you say more if each guy has one you're going to need another guy to get to this matchup especially considering dallas team. Total is only twenty and a half so for me. I tied with zeke. Just because of his his how many times he's gonna touch the ball here who gets more catches ab or evans. So i'd go with tonio brown. And i know mike evans has been the guy in tampa for quite some time but if you look again at what tampa did coming off the bye last year and those eight games. Antonio brown's target's share increased as he and. Tom brady had more familiarity with with one. Another brown was getting more snaps. Brown was having a lot more success. Those last eight games. He averaged six point. Four targets per game evans was averaging about six point two targets game and i think with another year in another off-season under their belt brown is gonna take a big step forward in this. Offense whereas evans is probably going to remain at status quo. Evans is still going to have a good year. But i think antonio brown has the opportunity to really bust out this season. I would take him over evans in terms of reception. People forgot about abc. We haven't seen him healthy for a full season in a system he understands that dude's peak is way better than anyone else on that team. All right time for house. Money is delivered by fendell. We get one hundred dollars to.

"04 draft classes. Eli Manning, retired and Philip Rivers and Big Ben thinking about retiring. He's only a year away from those guys ages, and he's playing like this. It's exquisite to watch him play quarterback. He was brilliant on Saturday. Absolutely brilliant. And whereas I think that because Jared Goff is limited, and we don't know about really Jared Cobbs future right now with the Rams. Don't think many people baby took the Rams all that seriously, and it might not look like a great win. Rams defense is also severely underrated and under talked about this year. Mean Rodgers and the Packers offense. Just basically ripped apart the number one defense, the NFL That's pretty significant, isn't it? It's enormously significant, you know, snow flurries falling and I was one of the suckers that thought that this game would be way tighter than people have thought. I thought the Rams would cover the spread here because I thought the Packers inevitably in a cold weather game would actually have a little trouble with that Rams defense that I know. Cooper Cup. Not playing is a big deal for the Rams. And maybe you know he would have given them 123 extra big plays that made this game a little tighter. But the fact that Aaron Rodgers went out there versus that defense, the best defense he will see the rest of the way you could talk about Tampa's defense. You talk about the pills or whatever the chief's bring defensively. The best defense Our Rogers will have seen happened on Saturday, and he went out there and basically with little flicks of the wrist just made it seem like he was playing on. I'm playing the Lions again in December. This is not a big deal. It never felt like a big playoff game because Roger's made it that easy. And Rodgers in the past of some of these games. It hasn't been this fall. Whether it's been big receiver drops for him the offense, letting him down or the defense like last year. San Francisco getting absolutely gashed. It just feels like Aaron Rodgers for Parts of the game that he has nothing to do with has this team in total complete control, and there's just such a calm sense of confidence of home. We're gonna go out there. We're gonna do our job, and it just hasn't felt this easy. For Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in the last few years. If the Saints and won yesterday's game, I would have put the Packers already into the Super Bowl. I really didn't think the Saints could go on the road to Lambeau. There's a part of me that feels like the bucks. Can. You know the bucks just got all those turnovers? Devon White was a monster. And they got a good pass rush, and they got Tom Brady and they've got a lot of weapons, So there's a part of me that, you know. Look, this is It's not crazy to think the Bucks could win this game. Also kind of perfect that Imagine Rogers does this by beating Tom Brady getting to the Super Bowl. It would be very poetic for it would be. Yes, it will be the only thing I question and I know this early snow and I know there was some flurries on Saturday. Two times at Lambeau this year that there were really heavy winds and it felt like weather was a true factor. They slipped up in lost because Dalvin Cook absolutely gassed him and they beat the Jaguars by a measly four points after John Robinson was running up and down the field on him, so everybody wants to highlight. Look ahead and say, Oh, man, if there's a snowstorm team from Florida By the way the Packers are playing. I'm not so sure. Sure. Big winds and a heavy storm is something that would actually favor them in this game, despite the fact that the boxer coming up from Tampa to good running backs to Aaron Jones and Donald Jones, for both those guys for both those teams rather would be huge in this game probably will be no, no matter what the weather is like. Eli Manning and the Hall of Fame: The case for and against
"Ally manning thing announced his retirement on Wednesday retiring after sixteen seasons. He's thirty nine years old The giants quarterback who was of course supplanted by Danny dimes. This year but was a rock for for many years is now heads into retirement and it makes sense Meena In fact as a New York I all my friends are giant spans. I was on a tax change just the day before this news broke. And we're talking about that. Allies GonNA retire probably soon. Because when you look at the landscape with all these older quarterbacks on the market and what allies allies been doing the last couple of years. It never made sense that he was going to find a place to start games or perhaps he didn't want to be a backup. So this all made sense but still it. It is the end of an era in New York. I would love nothing more to come in here and defy I. I think what you all know. I'm about to say about Eli Manning I should not be wh- down calls US football cools right. Yeah I would love to say you know what guys you can't tell the story of football without Eli Manning which by the way why why is he the only person who gets that benefit say that about anyone else other than Eli. There's a lot of guys you can't tell the story of football without Aaron Hernandez put them in the hall of fame or if you want to look at pat super we were both. I mean they don't want any of them without dont`a hightower that's a holiday thing. Greg is compared. Eli Manning to know first. Ten Sahal Hyphen reductionist could be just one thing. You consider about a candidate quite well the few want ally in the holly. It's either two cases. One one is longevity. which is I think? A lot of people throw out. Because there's just too many guys who would get in by that and then the other is the two super bowls in the story thing. That's just not about how I would define it. It just becomes an argument. About how do you define the hall of fame. I think in my case against him has always been and yeah. I've been making this case for probably eight or nine years. So this is how long he's been average He's just been averaged entire career. Average in completion percentage yards per attempt. He's actually really way. Below average in the law of the interception categories passer rating these average. He's just for the time he entered the league to the time he left the league. He was an average quarterback over or that span. I I still don't like that being the conversation though when he retired. I we've had this argument so many times that I think we're just tired of it like we've said everything that there is to say about. Eli Manning in the Hall of Famer Eli Manning in general that. I actually was annoyed almost yesterday that that's the conversation when a really great player who was a big part of the league in you know no matter whether he was a top five quarterback no he never was maybe in two two thousand eleven. I went through it once. I think I had him at a top five quarterback one year top ten quarterback only one other your. Yeah that's not the hall of fame but like immediately the second he retires. The entire conversation is like the start of the public hall of fame. Talk which is GONNA be. Never any people are so confident about what's going to happen you don't I know what's going to happen becoming. We were like you know he will be in. It's like you don't know that I think the manning name like this is not a new thought but just that we've talked about royalty and stuff that he's sort of this. NFL Family fixture that. The people voting for this. I think they're gonNa Push Eli Manning right in not maybe. CBS voters down. The conversation depends on who he's against. Though you're really does. Conversation will be never ending for five years then going in. I'm sorry I don't listen you. Everybody discounts counting stats and cory will get too caught up or only point at the two rings and the two superbowl. MVP's but I just think there's something that'd be so if he didn't win those super bowls he's he's not he's not going to have him. I get that but there's something to be said and it's always been feel overlooked both on this podcast aspect in general. Because Eli can be a target. I feel like on twitter that the giants drafted him or the chargers. Technically but the giants Brought him into the team in two thousand four. They put him in the lineup in around October that year and then they never had to think about the quarterback position again for the next ten eleven eleven twelve years and I know things didn't end very well but they should have been thinking about it so when you're when you're talking about right ten years okay I'm GonNa say ten years when you think about other teams about your Brown's Mark My jets so many other teams in the league that go through constant search a churn looking for a guy and you end up with a stop. Stopgap and a rookie. You stinks and then a stop Gat and then another rookie. And maybe you hit on something. Like the SEAHAWKS got Russell Wilson. They don't have to think about anything. Russell Wilson's a better player than the but he eli for ten twelve years. They put him in there. He did his job. He was not spectacular but he was steady. You never had to worry about him getting hurt because he never did. He's the most durable the player ever. You'd never had to worry about him saying stupid something stupid to the media. He always handled that very well. You never had to worry about him. Getting into like a behind the scenes drama with with a coach and exploding and him being at odds and using the media to get a point across and all that stuff he was a Walter Payton Man of the year guy he was a total title. Good Dude and in those playoff runs. Then you factor that in for me. He rose up in historic way. And then just beat. Anybody didn't beat the Jacksonville. We'll jaguars didn't beat a Pittsburgh. steelers heat the Patriots and he'd be Bill Bell Check and he'd beat Tom Brady. And if if that's not something that should be given added points knowing who the Patriots are and what they represent in this era of NFL football. I'm sorry I disagreed to just kind of view that uh-huh yeah beat the Patriots. No he beat the greatest team of all time the greatest quarterback in the greatest head coach. I think that means a lot. His team did right playing. Okay Ah in that Super Bowl. I don't think he would say he had the best game. Even the play he's known for is crazy play. That could never be replicated. The two twenty eleven run is what I remember most fondly. Va Man. I think people kind of forget that won the last game of the regular season that they played it was against the cowboys and then the three league games in the NFC playoffs and that Super Bowl he had a collection of some of the most improbable. Low percentage awesome throws goes for five weeks. Stretch that you'll ever see Joe flacco kind of had a somewhat similar run any add little moments like that the year after they won the Super Bowl two thousand eight. He was really good throughout the year but they didn't win the Super Bowl because if eli manning they want it because of their defense I mean they wanna because of Justin Tuck and he learned of it. It's equally reductive to me to say. They won because of the argue he was part of it took to get into the. I mean the kind of connected back to the HIGHTOWER. No one's out here making a case for hightower you kind of do you. You like to throw this one in. I is the single most important outside of Brady and Gronk like the Patriots. Don't have this run of Super Bulls without dont`a hightower. I think I don't think belongs in the hall of fame but you could every all of the cases were making for. Eli You could just as easily make for like twenty other other random playwright quarterback a case you've made for you. I think is the case. Why he's a great memorable? NFL figure. It's just that's different than in. Our weather also talked about about it forever his position he was not a top ten quarterback. I would say for every year but two of his career. There's no one in the hall of fame you can say they've also said forever. You're in West. You've quoted Vince Lombardi on this that the quarterback it just the most important for a position or a position where the spotlight as and that comes with way. More pressure To it then dot high tower where his position is. I just think what you I was able to do in that spot in those two years is something you can't take away from. I and and say oh he was carried to titles. Because I don't I just don't see it that way. I think you've you stated the case very well. I think it falls shy of the hall of fame. I think if you're a jets fan like Dan or you're the browns fan and you've seen nothing but Ship wrecked chaos at the quarterback position. That the the idea that you would draft someone who would play as Eli did before a PR stunt got him benched you know. Couple of years twelve years of sixteen starts and by the way we are stunned. Got Him benched. He got himself well. That's fine but I'm saying but also the disrespect I just giants fan and you draft draft Philip rivers and he. He did what he did. But you get Eli Manning out of it and you know. He's going to win two super bowls in essentially a total ironman at the position. He's a hall of fame to a lot of giants fans I get. I don't think he belongs to the meeting. Early either reading a story just reading up on allies career. I completely forgot the whole two thousand seventeen. Ben mcadoo where's Ben these days but Jacksonville Jaguars Ben

Eli the Elite?
"Of course we will start with the news that came late yesterday and that is Eli Manning's decision. Chew retire he calls it a career after sixteen. NFL seasons the official announcement will come at a press conference tomorrow morning. He played his entire career with the giants. Why is he won? Two Super Bowls and let the franchise in every passing category. Here is now some reaction to his decision from around the league allows a great fierce competitor man and to be able to play hollow for sixteen seasons. It's a really tough. It's really tough. He's a super bowl. Champion are playing him my rookie year. He almost got me benched because he was lighting up and taking advantage of my. You know my my rookie. Youth is consistent steady throughout his whole career and obviously have a ton respect more. Aw Man he's got so much to be proud of and two super bowl championships. You know with two clutch drives the game. You know to win though so he deserves. I think a ton of accredit successor that time and also just a ton of respect from all of his further career he was able to hop. I mean he's got to be in the top ten in most every meaningful statistics when it comes to quarterback play. Okay so you know I got to play against a lot in the NFC east and really observed him. When I came in as a rookie he had just won the Super Bowl? And so I I enjoy it even when I was at the back of watching just observing high went about his business because I said Kay. That's that's the goal. That's where you want to get to. You can't write the NFL store without Eli Manning well said they're manning one of only five players in NFL history to win multiple super bowl MVP's he seventh. All Time and touchdown passes and passing yards arts and start at two hundred and ten consecutive games for two thousand four to two thousand seventeen the third longest streak for quarterback in NFL history. He was always there if the best ability is availability. He had plenty of that Victor. I'll start with you of course as Eli teammate and friends what's the one thing you remember most about. Eli Manning the player just being an iron man just being accountable just being there when you needed him the most we needed someone to make a play when you needed someone to carry the weight of the team on his shoulders. He took it and he never pointed a finger at anyone on the team. Never pointed the blame at anybody else. He always made sure that when loser draw he's GonNa take the pressure and take the heat off the team and bring everybody better and I think that made us respect him. It made us raise our level of play and it and it just made us go out there with a certain Passionate that certain disciplined to go out there and play with this guy because you knew that he was gonNA bring all he had each and every time he stepped out on their football fields and you knew the preparation was where I remember times where Sunday Hyundai after games that Monday morning already in luxury. Mind you that's off day. That's not even a that. We're supposed to be there. He's there studying getting ready for the next game. Getting Ready for the next opponent opponent and just tackling this thing on and commend you e for just everything for this league for the giants and and you know I know you're only gonNA accomplish more things posts a poster right. That was the first chapter. It's interesting perspective because we have teammate and we have opponent I always a different way to look at things. You have some hardware because the things that he was able to do in that super bowl playing against him a few times I could just say this. He's a constant professional going back a couple years ago even last year having to go up and down on with being a starter then being benched not being there you never saw him complainer or have any. Ill will towards his teammates. He was always trying to be the best teammate. He could be So that just represents his character. The type of team eighty is. It was always just trying to do to do the best for his team and congrats on a heck of a career and let's not forget he did it in New York or science which is not the easiest place to for that length of time with that kind of grace and I know you had a chance to talk to a lot of players today and late yesterday about what else legacy bid. Yeah I gotTa Tell You. It's probably one of the easiest questions I had to ask players about because the answers just came to everyone so quickly because everyone has so so many good stories about Eli and everyone loves to throw in there that he so unassuming he's unwavering and it's it's sometimes I think looked at I and some of the players said this as maybe perhaps a negative connotation because he's not flashy He's got this ability to go out there and running offense and not look physically scary when he does it put the respect is there. I talked to Shawn Watson for almost fifteen twenty minutes about Eli Manning specifically and he said you know I remember number for me going to the manning camps and getting the award and he taught me so many different things about football but he pulled me aside right before I got into the League and talked me about highs and lows and how many I'm about to be part of and in order for me to have six. I gotTA figure out a way to stay in between like I've I just thought of that. I thought of that conversation in moments when things have gotten really bad for me. So I if manning obviously having a tremendous effect on young quarterbacks in old ones as drew brees talk about it there's there's no question is he a hall of Famer absolutely. I think that when you look at obviously the two superlatively fees Only one he's one of the five people that have to Suba. MVP's and you know. I just think his legacy and the things that he left out on their football field. I mean it has to be have to take that into account and I just think he is all of Famer in in my book. I watched the Guy Work Day in and day out. He put the work into a hall of Famer and he put the work in to be even the conversation to be in the hall of fame. You know to this day so I think he absolutely gets Gets a deserves I. Yeah I think so as well look. There's a lot more variables that go into a team and you look at some of the years that they struggled in New York. It's not all allies fault right. There's other things in place there that make a team successful. So with the time he was there he was very good and he brought to Super Bowl so that organization an MVP two times. That's impressive so his body works speaks for itself. I think those players teammates journalists were so close to it. We we constantly talk about how great he is is and he's such a professional and and I think for fans it's hard to understand what we're talking about because we're in it with him. Were in the locker room. You guys are out on the field and you're just a significant -nificant difference when you put together a career the way he has dealt with good in the bed in New York with those cameras in his face and always be the same guy. After all these years I think for me he gets in Beeson the character the man. He isn't of course the fact that he was able to bring the I tell you what I liked that he got that one last start to. I'm not going to lie. It's really nice to be able to walk with the. He deserved that. I still get. I get chills and so Congratulations Eli Manning.
