"I feel let's take a couple more here. let's Let's rip through a feud that let's do a daniel. It's to it. I'll be the host again as we rip through some more of these. Do you wanna do about location. We've got california florida texas. Here's one and you know what this is. The philosophy questions. Let's dive into from joel martinez in san antonio texas. What romney y'all grabbing quarterbacks in who are you selecting so the second part of this question is probably a little bit more difficult for me because it just depends on how the rest of the league goes this. I'm not is it fair. And you guys are the ones to tell me whether it's fair or not i just. I don't wanna quarterback with other my first two picks and the only way that i'm taking a quarterback with my third pick would be if i have like the tenth or eleventh. Pick my draft. So i'm at the back end of the third round in patrick mahomes slides there. Mike is. Would you take a quarterback assuming normal scoring first or second round is a third round too early. What's your sweet box. Yeah i and. I think that's sort of what they're what the The person asking the question is looking for right. Like what should they attack quarterback when when should they get away from the other positions and think about the quarterback position. So you know. Mahomes allen murray. We're talking twelve team leagues number like third fourth fifth round. Not really my cup of tea. You know. I'm always keeping an eye on these guys though they fall like you said maybe i'm thinking about it but the hot zone for me isn't a fifth sixth seventh round. That's where start looking at six. And looking lamar jackson and dak prescott get one of them to in that area. I'm happy if not and often. I miss on them to some attacking receiver another position usually receiver in that area. I'll fall back on my next year. Which is rogers wilson and herbert in that order. If i come away with one of those five guys. I am very happy. I don't have to worry about. It really need a backup at that point. I don't need an upside quarterback enough. There's one if sitting there late. Maybe i take him sure. Why not but otherwise. I don't really need to worry about. I could focus on the other position. So that's really my core five. I'm attacking this year. And that was a much better answer than what i gave you. Sort of like you know non-answer answer. This is a good one here. Let me do you say one thing. We'll fast. i'm really sorry. Would love nothing more than exists. I appreciate it. I feel like and i want your opinion on this. It's really hard to talk about. Where quarterback should be drafted because in the mock drafts that we are doing. Quarterbacks aren't being drafted until the fourth round. Give or take but in a lot of the adp's of course. Patrick i did a draft with a bunch of buddies back home. Patrick mahomes went way too early. He went like the the middle of the second round. And i just think a lot of average leagues are going to have that happen. So even in those leagues though. I'm especially saying wait on quarterback take advantage of the people. That are taking the quarterbacks early. Wait on quarterback because you still have people that will be available late for you. So yeah you just you just saying that sure. No i totally agree daniel. I all of us at espn are going to be patient so You know. I think that probably using us as your reference point might be different than how your league probably knowing. Your league is important. Part of the dynamic with your quarterbacks which tighter this comes from darius women atlanta georgia which tied an outside of the top three. Do you believe of a breakout season this year. So the top three or of course kelsey kettle and waller candidates. I think breakout players kyle pits which. I've always wondered whether you can actually call a rookie break-up player because what's he breaking out from right like it's he has never played before i would say to hopkinson strikes me as a breakout candidate. Your i think people on this podcast. Probably no i think john smith is a breakout candidate. Any of those or others of come to mind for you. Mike yeah You mentioned john. Smith i've come around on him a lot when once cam newton was cut loose and they committed to match jones. It's just going to mean a lot more volume for the past sketchers in this offense kind of lifts up everybody including the running backs. They're going to get more goal. I work so i'm more on. China eventually moved up to ninth on my board recently so totally totally on board with that one and then you know i i. You know what. I'm looking for breakout guys thinking like year to general. Ah three for a talented titan. Adam trautmann has kind of fallen off the radar a little bit. He's dealt with injuries and johnson's kinda come on. So i went the other one right. He's been kind of quiet more quiet than i thought. A l- season. I think there'd be more hype firm. You can get him pretty late in your draft and again who knows he could come out of nowhere seemingly nowhere and explode onto the fantasy seen. This is a very talented player drafted on day two last year with their in chicago. And if you believe justin fields maybe you should believe coal committed as well. It'll be one of his top targets. Wow if you believe in justin field who doesn't believe in justice league duty. What else do you believe in my lions fan lines. Scott stop how long until the lions irrelevant again might clay. Someone else's that are over in the well. Let's let's say i'm working on my My makeup preview. We do for nfl every year and as part of that right caps on every team all thirty two rank among the thirty two. And the lines aren't very high daniel lightly. So it's gonna be a while it might be a few years. I feel like klay just hates my team but also i feel like everyone in.

"Austin ekeler jamie. aaron jones. Devante adams to me and michael thomas to chris so seven then kelsey than two more running backs and aaron jones than Davante adams michael thomas. That's round one round two. We're going to see the other. Two tight ends. Come off the board. Beginning with kittle thirteenth overall. Then tyree kill to me. So i started so chris started with michael. Thomas and kittle. I started with davante adams in tyreek hill. Aj brown nick chubb to jamie so he started with a three receiver pr league. He actually started with three running backs. I already alluded to nashi. Harris ridiculous In round three. Dan schneier joe mixing after jamie. Took chubb so kiddo tyreek. Aj brown. Nick chubb joe mixing stefan digs. That's the first six six of round two. That's followed by cam. Akers justin jefferson. Darren waller deondraye hopkins pretty normal pretty standard stuff at least for us and then you get some decisions to make At this point de andre swift eleventh pick of round two miles sanders twelve. Pick of round two. So those guys went ahead of decay. Metcalf in calvin ridley and keenan allen. All the quarterbacks can't really. I mean i would've taken nausea harris certainly ahead of swift sanders and i would take him out of swift. I know people really love swift. Potential to catch sixty seventy passes this year. Get it. I get it but Yeah i don't know jamie when you look at round two. What stands out a lot of great players. You know. I think like you said you know. Nausea harris belongs in. This group just depends on how you value these wide receivers. I think that you know. Just based on how deep the position is round. Three is probably the spot. I would look for a lot of these guys as much as i love. Justin jefferson and hopkins Even digs even jay brown. You know. I just think that if you have an opportunity to one of these difference makers at the running back position knowing how quickly the position falls off in how deep wide receiver is i just. That's the route. I'm going to go this year. And so i miss out on some of the high town wide receiver but for me. I don't think any one of those running backs is going to be a little bit of a difference for your roster so it is probably personal preference But i mean these are all stars. You know that's the reason they go. In the first round case that miles sanders should be around to pick at this point. But yeah everybody else for the most part plaza okay. So what's the cutoff at running back for you where you're you know joe mixon right. I mean i'm pretty excited about. Joe mixing boast fairly excited about him last year. Thought he was super safe. He really stunk and he had one huge game. He kinda stunk after that. So would you take. Joe mixon over stefan digs. Because that's what happened when you took chub and then mixing and then digs went stefan digs led the nfl. I in personally. Just because again. I think if you get what he can become. Then that's better..

"Media you recognize the town is just off the charts rare rare physical specimen to throw at plenty of time. Sometimes you think supernatural with the eleventh pick in the two thousand hundred twenty one. Nfl draft the mice. Icago bear select justin field quarterback ohio state. Everyone it's daniel jeremiah from move the sticks and i'm bucky brooks and this is just feels three sixty buck. I know bears fans are fired up. I don't know that seen this fan base this excited in quite some time. They've got themselves new quarterback. And i think we can say he's got the superstar potential here in justin feels. He absolutely has superstar potential. But we're gonna talk. Some guys who have spotted at potential very early in justin feels lifetime where they've seen really developed from a guy who was kind of under underrated prospect of becoming one of the top prospects as a high school quarterback to have success. Not only a joy to begin at ohio state to being a guy that was taken at the top of the board. Ron veal mad dickman. Justin feels high school football coach at harrison high ron day trend deal for coach. Justin feels that elite eleven. John beck who coached him doing their pre-draft process Jk dobbins a couple of his teammates all provide perspective on justin feels. Who was who could be the next level. No doubt and when we talk about him as a player before we get into these conversations With these great folks that know him at his has as anybody buck. I think the sky's the limit. We talk about everything you can do. You talk about the ability to create plays talking about his ability on design quarterback runs. You talk about him in the pocket to deliver the ball accurately at all three levels. Big time arm strength My only knock on him For for really. It's kind of nitpicking. Right is just playing with a little more urgency right. Let's just speed up. Let's crank it up a little bit and get going can be a little bit delivered at times but mom excited for him. I think that's that's fixable. And if he does get that going and picks up the place beat a little bit watch out watch out here a tremendous amount of potentially we've seen that potential play out at times those who have studied him..

"Getting more picks in the third. Excuse me the four frown and moving down. Ten picks picks and with the second round. Pick the forty-six pick overall. It is the former fairfield indian and the former clemson tiger jackson carmen offensive. Tackle coming aboard. So yes it was true the bengals. They went after the big wide receiver in the draft. Which again i'm fine with. And then they pick jackson carmen. So again farmer fairfield indian and on the twitter graphic used by the bengals. It's twenty three miles from fairfield. Ohio to paul brown stadium which i never would have guessed that far but hey silvo being a local kid get into play for his local. Nfl team now. I know that doesn't automatically equals super bowl. Success doesn't even equal regular season success. I know that. And the reason why i bring it up because it's a nice point. It's a nice local sports. Point which know. Cincinnati radio is covered. I mean again. Cincinnati sports radio. I think head and shoulders above dayton sports radio but then again when you have the one show and most of it's about that school in columbus. Yeah so that's my take on it. You can have different. Take you control me on that. But not gonna change my opinion. So jackson carmen. The offense tackle taken in the forty six pick. I like that pick because a lot of the picks of the bengals. We're thinking about the offensive line. We're taken including alex would was taken by the raiders. The very first pick so which. A lot of people are really raiders of all these things you need. You pick the offense lineman. I but you know raiders. Don't care what you think that's always been out davis's strategy. He doesn't care what you think. Does things as the third round pick number sixty nine. Insert your nice comments here. It is joseph osei defensive end. From the texas longhorns which i like that i mean his athleticism should be a really nice touch. Other defense event the fourth round there are three picks for cincinnati and the first one is defensive. Ed from two lane cameron sample. That's the one hundred eleventh. Pick eleven picks later the bengals go for. Lsu's defensive tackle tyler shelving and this is from the cardinals through houston and new england and pick number one thirty nine. So this is seventeen. Picks from tyler shelving the offensive tackle from east carolina dante smith round five. Pick one forty nine. The bengals get the replacement for randy. Bullock and kicker evan mcpherson who is shown on a social media video on twitter kicking a cap off a bottle on the goalposts which hopefully it means accuracy. It's a great thing route. Six two picks for the bengals pick number one ninety s center trae hill from georgia. Which would be nice. Because cincinnati recently declined. Billy prices contract extension meeting after this year. He's out of there unless the bengals have a change of heart. I don't see that happening. But billy price will most likely not be a bangle in two thousand twenty two so trey hale will come in..

"Hello everybody and welcome into the sports caster and her son. I'm peggy kaczynski. Your host twelve time emmy award winning sportscaster from nbc chicago. Oh i don't know for the last seventeen years and i'm the mom. And i'm the baby boomer and i'm jason commander. I am a freshman not too much longer at ut austin with just about a week later in the semester. I am honored calendar for sports. I'm contributing writer for college basketball review. And yeah you know. It's crazy jason. When we started the podcast you were a senior in high school. No i wasn't. I was a junior junior when it's doing all of your college apps and everything all my gosh. I can't believe how much time has gone by. Okay so listen. Last week we talked about. Nfl draft bus and we had some great responses. Actually we had too many responses so we cut it into two parts. So this is our part to We already heard from euro at espn radio. Mike evans was who he was completely wrong about. Greg gabriel former scouting guy from the chicago. Bears was wrong about mike. Haynes from penn state and brad biggs from the chicago tribune longtime. Nfl writer said he was wrong. About cedric benson. Which was funny. Because that was mine. Right jason since we heard from these guys. The bears draft is over. Can you contain yourself over the fact that they got justin fields. Well you know what mom and acting like. This is a story that we're going to be telling for years potentially decades one that. I hope i'm gonna be telling my kids. Of course you remember a couple of hours before the draft. I texted you. Said if the bears tradeoff judson field. I might just cry. The tears of happiness. And i'll tell you what. I was doing work all dancers day i Just came back. Got dinner with one of my friends. I'm watching the draft and won the top ten was done and fields wasn't picked. I had figures cross that i was. I was sitting there sweating through the detroit and denver. Once we ought top ten. I'm like oh boy this. He's next ten picks leading up to twenty or probably going to be pretty stressful. So i got up to use the bathroom. I got the tv playing in the background and wound. He's in the bathroom. I hear from the the new york. Giants have traded the eleventh pick at I was like oh. I gotta i gotta hold my breath and i hear to the chicago bears and You know i did my business real quick back into the into the living room and i sit down and box. First reaction was. Oh you gotta be kidding me. We're going to try and take back. John bone away. I always say off. Twitter drafts And the pickets announcing his joseph. And i almost article court from how loud i was yelling. How excited i was i am. I can't say enough about the pick when you when you look at the other draft prospect of quarterbacks the bears got who the guy who could possibly be the second best quarterback in the in the draft. Many people thought that he was the second best many pita. I thought that all the way. Even after the season he was mocked go at number two to the jets and to no fault of his own. Really did he fall. It was more. So zack wilson looked amazing. And it's pro day trae lance amazing. It's pro day. I think that maybe there's a little divine intervention with the bear disfranchised. That and i think we've talked about six or seven times of the podcast that year in year out decade decade almost century in in century of this team continually has not been able to find their guy at quarterback and i just think that the bears had a couple of chips fall in their place and they made the move that will obviously defined the careers of matinee pace and could very well defined the direction up the franchise for the next ten to fifteen years. It's crazy for years after they trade up for mitch. Trubisky they do it again. They trade up. They give away next year's first round pick they know in. Everyone's like oh. Gosh but this is not mitch. Trubisky this is from a one of the best programs in the country and in two years proved he could handle the the the stress the pressure. just up just a really great quarterback. It's exciting that the bears actually have a potential quarterback. It's crazy while mom you know. They're two really big things that i look at with fields. Pick and number one when you compare it to your bisky. The bears up less for somebody who is a highly regarded prospect. Then trubisky was when he was taking it to right. Field would have been the first quarterback selected in that draft And you say comes. From one of the best programs people forget justin shields is originally at georgia and then transferred ohio state. He's been at two of the best programs in the country. He's played in two. Three playoff games appeared in one national championship game. He is a bread winner. Have been missing under center for so long for my entire time. Watching the team. Jay cutler was a fine quarterback but at no stop in his career whether it be college at vanderbilt or in the nfl with denver. The bears miami. Was he ever a winner with mitch. Trubisky trubisky played one year north carolina. And i believe they went eight four in high school he wasn't. He wasn't highly regarded prospect. Big time winner and he didn't really win in the nfl. The bears have never really had a true winner under center and now get justin field. And it's so easy to get caught up in trading fields and getting the the big brand name guy in the draft but the other thing that impressed me even more. And i always say this every track if you are going to use your assets whether it be a top five pick or trade into the first round for who you believe is going to be your future franchise quarterback. You're very next. Move has to be to protect him. So with the bears. When you drip like kevin jenkins who had a first-round grade who who's probably going to be there ticket twenty twenty. They hadn't who the this couldn't have been better. It could not have won any better. Well the great thing about how much we complained about the offensive line last year we will never really know how good mitch trubisky could have been or is because he did not have any protection and then he went through the change in in coaches and matt nagy completely went away from his offense. And but you're right you're right. They went the next two picks they went offensive line. Then the next series often wineman big durable guys not in a narrow pro bowler big greedy guide mom and And and people always don't really give too much regard to the day three of the draft and honestly typically i don't really either But the bears made a pick. And i believe it was in the sixth round that i think could be one of the skills and the draft. And that's dad's newsom wide receiver out in north carolina. I watched almost every game of his past year with the heels. He is going to be. Anthony miller replacement when he is inevitably traded. Or as you should be. And i think that the way..

"The cowboys. Here at picton. Maybe see grades being higher on hornets retain but boy certaines a safe prospect. You often see him mocked as you mentioned and maybe those first nine different guys off the board. But he's still sitting there in the dark horse for me though is rashawn slater because you look at jerry jones's career. He invests in offensive linemen. How long has tyron smith going to be around. Slater be guard in the meantime. I mean he likes having the best offensive line in the league. So which work needs to be done on the defensive side of the ball right dako scott until the passing game the weapons. That dallas cowboys. Have i got to believe. There's a defensive player coming here. Let's see if they stayed shock with the selection. Marcus and landed of locked on cowboys with the tenth pick in the ultimate mock draft. I am marcus mosier. Joined by land are the host of the lockdown kabyles podcast and with the tenth pick in the two thousand twenty one. Nfl draft the dallas cowboys. Select patrick santan. Junior cornerback alabama. Yeah it was. This is a pick that we've had written in pencil since october. It's not surprised especially once. Jay z horne came off the board made the pick really easy cowboys. Pick another a starter that go up so trayvon digs and hopefully a long-term starter for the next ten years. Yeah day one starter for the dallas cowboys. I think he's very similar to like a marlin free coming out of alabama a few years ago a perfect fit of scheme in the dallas cowboys. And now we turn our attention to the second round where the cowboys potentially trying to trade up to get back into the first shot to add some more premier defensive talent and it was the alabama corner. Patrick attend the second. We saw his father playing the league. So well for so long. Seemed like a second version of patrick's ser tan was destined to be a top ten pick and he does sneak into the top ten here in our ultimate mock draft. Yeah and kind of a tricky as you mentioned but a high quality player. I mean exactly what they need. This defense does need a lot. It's lacking talent and also just made a lot of mental errors and mistakes last year. You would think they would that some that the latter we get cleaned up a little bit too. I'm excited with our odyssey experts. I love this. We've got the playmaker today. Michael joining this. This is pretty cool. It's pretty cool hall of fame. Big time awesome receiver. That was a big of growing up. Get get his take on this. That's awesome. Let's go to michael irvin and his thoughts on his dallas cowboys selection patrick's ten number ten. This is a great pickup for the dallas cowboys. Now they compeer patrick's thirteen the second. We're trayvon deeds on the corner at at have rate corners for long john. I asked patrick's attend about this on my podcast. He says they have had conversations about being in the corner for the dallas cowboys was decent for years to come him in trayvon. Let me tell you folks. The dallas cowboys need a lot of help on defense. It is always easier to find the guy that get to the passer than it is to find the guy that can break up the past we could find. Is you get to. The quarterback is hard to find. Is that could cover the wide receivers pick for the dallas comes now with another breakdown of an alabama prospect this time patrick's for ten luke robinson of locked on obama with his thoughts on certaines career with the crimson tide. Patrick certain from the university of alabama. Of course the son of a patrick certain senior and he's a great great player. He's going to be a shutdown corner in the nfl for a long time to come and he's just the kind of guy that just doesn't give up any kitchen he he doesn't take any plays off. Either that's what's so interesting about him. I think defensive backs can get bored when player when quarterbacks decide not to throw in their direction ser tan just always was ready whenever somebody did have the cojones to throw it in his direction. It seemed like something good happen. In terms of he would have a pick six. Now he did get beat for a touchdown against florida in the sec championship game but it was just a perfect pass and a great play by the receiver and sometimes The receivers just gonna make a good play too but those those kind of moments were far and few between when you're talking about a defender the caliber patrick ser tan. He's gonna having least that the kind of career his father had. I eventually believe he will surpass a his father in terms of nfl rates. Let's finish up day. Two of our ultimate mock draft matt with the new york giants who are standing by with the eleventh pick in this draft patricia train. The host of locked on giants has some decisions to make the you go wide receiver. Do you go offensive line. I mean it's probably going to be really hard to pass on. Somebody like devante smith here but they did work in free agency at wide receiver. It would seem that the need there is gone. But you can always help out your your young quarterbacks if daniel jones is indeed their guy mac jones is still out there. I don't know if you up on jones's at quarterback would russian dc giants going here pick eleven devante. Smith is probably the highest graded player by most. That are still out there. Sean slater would certainly feel a need. Though i mean they went tackle the first round last year slater could be a tackle or guard. Frankly slater might be their best offensive lineman the second he put on blue but we also know this team needs edge pass rush and they always covid big guys you know. I mean going back to the parcels days. I mean this organization love bringing big people. Would they love a russo. Were a pay or somebody like that. I mean i think that's not off the board for that. Let's find out who. Patricia selects for the new york giants at eleven the host of locked on giants with the selection. What's good giant fans. Patricia trainer host of the lockdown giants podcast and with the number eleven. Pick in the nfl. Draft i have the new york. Giants letting northwestern offense of lyman rashaan slater now. This was a tough one here. I really wanted to trade down in the strath. I really wanted to draw from number eleven down to maybe around number twenty. didn't get any offers. And the reason why i wanted to trade down was because kyle pits off the board mart chase off the board jalen. Waddell was off the board so three players that i maybe would have considered at number eleven. Had they been there all god so that said i look at the giants offensive line. Didn't really add too much to the offensive line in free agency. Just some really players. But i'm looking ahead. And in were sean slater. They have a guy who can play both left. Tackle and right tackle predominantly a right tackle. But he's also projected to play inside it right guard now. Obviously if you get offensive lineman at number one. The idea is to get them in there and have them start from day one. If at all possible. I do think that if the giants go with sean slater that is. It's certainly a possibility. And you know. I could have picked. Mica parsons penn. State at that spot. I do believe the giants will be able to get it edge rusher in the second round of the draft. There's a couple of guys. I'm bali that they might be able to fit there so again my pick for the giants at number eleven with sean slater northwestern offensive linemen and it is the offensive. Lineman rashawn slater out of northwestern. The selection number eleven by patricia for the new york giants. And you know kind of need eats value here. I think what this election you mentioned. How the new york giants. They love big people so absolutely. I could see this being the pick. Here at eleven for the giants. That's what i would have done as well with all respect. Devante smith that you just signed golladay munich. Daniel jones life is easiest possible saquon. Barkley coming back i mean. How many times has he been. Hit behind the line of scrimmage in his career as well slater's a great player. And there's gonna be some spot for this for him hopefully for a very long time on big blue's offense you know who played against the new york giants quite a bit in his career. Is michael irvin. We just heard from him talking about the dallas cowboys pick. Let's go back to the playmaker on the giant selection of.
