'Old Man Syndrome' Can't Excuse Joe Biden's Lying

"It eleven days afghanistan collapsed. The taliban has taken over. And they're now holding americans hostages. We left people behind. Thirteen members of the military were killed. Joe biden has their blood on his hands. Joe biden has the Strategic failure to answer for to the world. Joe biden lied and nobody is being held accountable for any of it. Nobody is being held accountable. Here was the big lie. This is the most important thing you should hear all day long. This is what biden told george stephanopoulos just a few weeks ago. Your top military advisers warned against trying in this time line. They wanted you to keep about twenty five hundred to they. Didn't it was split. That wasn't true. It was a true. They didn't tell you that they wanted troops to stay. No not at not in terms of whether we were going to get out in a timeframe all troops. They didn't argue against that. So no-one no-one military advisers are not tell you know we should just keep twenty five hundred troops. It's been a stable situation for the last several years we can do that. We can continue to do that. No no one said that to me. Can what a liar. What a liar now. i know. He's an old man and he's got old man syndrome. He might not remember what he had for breakfast. But he's gonna remember if his generals were were willing to let him end this war or not

Ernest Shackleton: Surviving Antarctica

"It's midnight on may fifth nineteen sixteen. Ernest shackleton squats at the helm of james cared trying to balance himself on the rocking boat. They've been at sea for eleven days. He knew the eight hundred mile. Crossing to south georgia. Island would be dangerous. But he's never seen anything as fierce as the drake passage. The winds have been coming at them at one hundred miles an hour. The waves are almost twenty feet tall each swell grabs the boat lifting at higher and higher for the boiling surf into the air. One moment they're surrounded by hills of water the next there on top of the world overlooking an endless seascape of dark grey rollers and white horses. And then they're hurtling back down. Below water crashes over the sides and sends a small crew into a frenzy to bail before the next one hits one way was so violent it ripped the boats anchor. Clear away shackleton marches wars lee struggling with the rudder trying to control the boat through the gusts and the snowfall is only. Compasses dead. Reckoning and the occasional glimpse of a star they both know if they boat off. Course they could miss south georgia entirely. And never be heard of again skipper. Altaic take the rudder. You get some sleep ex-boss maybe i'll lay down for an hour. Shackleton is left alone at the front of the boat. He watches the angry black clouds. Churn across the horizon and suddenly sees a silver light in the sky. Weather's clearing boys. And then he. Here's the familiar hiss. It's not a break in the clouds. It's the foaming crest of a wave. The biggest wave. He's seen in his life and it's heading straightforward.

US President Biden Addresses Afghanistan Exit

"Yesterday afternoon. The commander in chief himself president biden marched into the east room of the white house addressed the nation and declared that. He's not the president of alarming images. He's not the picture of chaos rather. He's the man who had the guts to end the forever war. Our fellow americans war in afghanistan is now over. Let's get into this. We are joined now by. Abc's chief global affairs correspondent martha raddatz and retired army ranger in. Abc news contributor. Jericho denman who knows what. It's like to be deployed to afghanistan. Because he's been deployed many times. Martha can we start with this address. What did you notice from president biden. Here he was defiant and double down on his decision to withdraw troops from afghanistan. I was not going to extend this forever. War hours not extending a forever exit. He of course talked about the success of the evacuation mission and it has been enormously successful in that they got more than one hundred twenty two thousand people out really in a matter of days. That number is more than double but most experts solar possible no nation no nation has ever done anything like it in all history but the reason they had to have that emergency evacuation was because of the way this withdrawal was handled and what they didn't know by the time i came to office. The taliban was it a strongest military position since two thousand one. They didn't know the taliban would take over in eleven days and it led to chaos and desperation. But if you listen to that speech it's really largely. I'm getting out of afghanistan for all the reasons he said

Breaking Down the Post MLB All-Star Break Stats

"Let's go ahead and start with a look beyond the box score. Those post all-star break numbers still very very high. As of monday's show was a fifty to average street. Twenty four base. four twenty. Two slugging will now. We've added a couple more days of three more days of data to those numbers. Still the two fifty two average on base down a little bit at three twenty one. But slugging up to four thirty five so at three twenty weighted on base average since the all-star break here across the league and that big uptick in slugging percentage is what i'm really focused on here for. Today's show as we know. The strikeout rate is down the stretch outrageous down quite significantly since that spin rate. Crackdown to hold a with the foreign substances. And all of that so guys are putting a lot more balls in play but now not only guys putting more balls in play but we're also seeing better fortunes at high-velocity contact and also more carry average fly ball. Distance is up here in the second. Half from june third. The time that's the second memo was actually sent out. It was a first memo in spring training back in march then. The memo came out june. Third major league baseball said we're going to take this seriously. Then enforcement started on. June twenty-first but any about from june third in july eleventh average fly ball distance three hundred nineteen here in the second. Half three hundred twenty one feet could be something could be nothing could be factors is obviously very hot in the month of july as we know and also to. You talked about this a lot on monday. Show but it's something that's still very relevant here on thursday is that we've seen a lot of below average starting pitchers since the all-star break guys are hurt. We've had several doubleheaders all of that. But also just what i've talked about on the daily article and then also on the shows here in that you've got a lot pitchers that have pitched on seven eight nine ten eleven days rest shohei. Ohtani pitched effectively two weeks worth of rest. It's tough to be sharp in those

All About the Iowa State Fair

"The data the iowa state fair always in august and it is always eleven days. So can you tell me. Is there a reason at eleven days. Is there a reason for the dates. That are chosen. I'm sure there was a whole whole lot of i. Don't figuring in mathematics and working with with the numbers that went into choosing just the perfect time yet so when the fair started it actually was held in october october. Twenty fifth eighteen fifty four And if you've ever been in iowa in october It could be miserable. We could have snow could have is. It can be bitterly cold. It could also be a beautiful day And so the fair sort of hopped around for a bit in the octobber. September range Mostly because it was hooked to agriculture. So it was a time when maybe the crops were ready to compete or farmer wasn't in the field in come to the fair so that's sort of how the date was developed in. It slowly moved back to august In we've had a few days like a week and then we've gone up to eleven days in eleven days Spot and we know that from staff here. You know that first week gun really busy. We're kind of working the kinks out. And then we get through that next part of the week. And we've by j in we strategically place it. So people have enough time to enjoy everything but that they don't get bored with you know maybe having at last over time there are other figures like for example. Texas does a whole month And they take like a couple of days off here and there which we try different things over the years than this sorta seems to be the window. That's fast right before school. The kids as projects are ready if they're exhibiting are showing and it's sort of the end to the summer So to speak in you know we've had a hundred plus what degree weather here in august in. We've had snow during the no. That's how i will roles.

Nutrient Timing to Balance Female Hormones with Dr. Mindy Pelz

"Let's talk about like in a typical twenty eight day cycle. You know and you can give kind of bullet points with that. Looks like when we should be timing out. Maybe low carb kito kind of style. Dieting fasting and then when we need it sir implementing more of these higher carb foods or feasting and applying some of those principles. Yes it's such a great conversation. I feel like. I don't know if you're having this experience. The more i talk about women's hormones and how to time their lifestyle to the hormones at coming go women are like. Oh my god that makes so much sense. Why was i not taught this at thirteen. And it's really. It's a massively missing conversation and women's health. So i came up with something what i call the fasting circle and actually just putting it in another book that were. We'll see when that one comes out but it's finished and i'm teaching the principal on my academy and the idea is that you look at the different days of your monthly cycle. You look at the hormones that are being produced you look the organs that are producing them and then you adapt. You're eating and you're fasting to it. You can even adapt your exercise to it and it looks something like this so on day one day ten you are trying to make estrogen. That is bottom. Line your body's building estrogen up. Now what's really interesting. is that hormones. Pulse they're not like they turn on and turn off like they pulse and as you get closer today ten they polls even more so you're building estrogen and you need your brain to be healthy. You need the hypothalamus. Pituitary to be healthy. And you need to be insulin sensitive. So in that time go kito do your three day. Water fast stimulated Jesus you can clean out the hypothalamus and the pituitary but focus on insulin sensitivity. Then as you move into day eleven day one is the first day of menstruation. So basically like the pointy start mass. You know there might be some men that are listening. That are not familiar with that. I know before. I got into Into the stuff in death. I was like what what is the twenty eight day cycle. Stay one is the first day of menstruation. Right when you start menstruating. You're saying go low car. you know. Intermittent fasting maybe even an extended or partial fast in that period of time. That's really good idea. And you know what's really weird is if you talk to a lot of women they'll say. Oh my god that makes so much sense. I actually don't wanna eat once my period starts it's like when you go back to the intelligence of the body. It's already been giving you clues your whole life. You just have have been taught by society to do something

Egypt and Others Mediate Ceasefire Between Israel and Palestinian Militants

"A ceasefire between israel and palestinian militants came into effect on friday three days later and as we go to add the ceasefire looks to be holding at the heart of the negotiations to bring about an end. Eleven days of brutal. Hostilities was egypt. Brokering the pause in violence and allowing breathing space for emergency aid to be brought in to the most vulnerable shameless. Ruth michelson joins me now by good morning tears guitar with us. Good morning. Just explain to us before we get the latest on what's happening in gaza. But what was egypt involvement in all this egypt has positioned itself as a key negotiator between the israeli government and between hamas the militant and political group. Mac controls the gaza strip. Egypt has said for a long time that basically. They're the only game in town when it comes to really negotiating between the two parties and it was certainly a. They were the driving force behind the push. At the end of the ceasefire with some help from the jordanians and of course a little bit of participation from the americans to but you know egypt also has its own issues when it comes to the fact that for example it also blockades the gaza strip. It doesn't tend to allow a lot of movement in or out and it is also cracked down on activists inside the country who have spoken out about palestine palestinian

"Five I know that's why you tune in my boss would die call me up on the back phone if I spent the rest of the show talking about the outcome of this game and I thought it was interesting that rate for the polder who joined us from Cleveland said nobody in the locker rooms was talking about the actual game even though they should be potentially a turning point for the Cleveland Browns Freddie kitchen says after the fact that miles Gareth actions are inexcusable and that it Mars what is the biggest win for the Steelers future for the Browns in a long time but he gives no excuses four Gareth actions which I appreciate are there other guys in this role in this may lay that should have to answer for their actions absolutely mild Garrett front of the line so we've got to pull up producer Chris put a pull up on our show Twitter after hours CBS giving you a few options for length of suspension for miles Gerrit and if you want you can reply to the to eat enough right your suspension laying for marquees penalty or anybody else you think should be suspended I would be surprised to make the road off to find as well I was thinking back to Albert Haynesworth you guys remember when he stomped on Andre Girod head in faith in two thousand six that was tightened cowboys in two thousand six and he received a five game suspension at that time it was online president did in the NFL that link the suspension for something that happened on the field of play in terms of one player going after another should miles Garrett receive something similar shorter longer he does have a history of nasty hits is been fined already because of excessive hipster quarterbacks but this is something completely different he lost control and he says the same after the game this is on me I embarrassed myself I embarrassed my team it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio were live from the rocket mortgage by quicken loans studios I understand it's not just a mortgage your mortgage is that the difference rocket mortgage push button get mortgage may feel did an on field interview with Erin injures right after the game and I and I saw that now I was busy watching the video over and over and so I eat I heard it quickly but I haven't gone back to listen to it again we can pull it but he called mild geared actions inexcusable and said that he should be suspended after the game that was interesting how he got a bit defiant not so much for miles Garrett but just what the rhetoric will be around the Browns right now this locker rooms gonna have to come together because this is gonna be a soap opera on the outside much like the media's as portrayed us to be from the whole season so we have to be disappointing we have to address it we have to hand what we have to come together and we have to play football that's our job as possible show up every day and do that so it's it's plain simple and like Freddie said instead of addressing things of those arrested or sections Morgan Burnett I mean it's just the as the sad part about it is our defense played lights out miles played a great game up until that point the soap opera like the media has portrayed as to be I mean the media didn't cut in Tokyo Callaway the media is and the reason why the Cleveland Browns had two wins until two weeks ago I actually appreciated his pregame conversation with Aaron on fox and I taking responsibility for help poorly they've played at how poorly he's played but the so proper created by the media now I mean there's a reason why no one's looking at the New England Patriots and calling them a soap opera except for their eleven days with Antonio brown because this kind of stuff doesn't happen with a lot of other organizations now is the organization responsible for miles Garrett's choices in that moment no but for there to be any other narrative besides mild Gerry just ruined a really good win for us I I don't think that there is one that's even possible you can find me on Twitter a law radio also on our Facebook page Jonathan says on Twitter I'm from Cleveland I'm embarrassed miles geared to be suspended for the remainder of the season at a minimum there is no excuse for what he did Matthew says Antonio Smith received a three game suspension for ripping off Richie incognito his helmet and hitting him with it in two thousand thirteen I would say at least four games David said let's see how it plays out I'm hearing Mason Rudolph kicked mild geared in the growing he obviously tried to rip miles helmet off first and then there's a dot dot dot as though the NFL is going to not discipline miles Gerrit because he may have been kicked in the growing I mean mall Gerd wouldn't get off of may third off if it's may I probably kick him to get off me man we see that all the time in sports also who I'm sure you guys know that in scrambles in the NFL growing very often get kicked and grabbed and clutched and squeezed and punched and all types of things Mason Rudolph I could see him getting a fine suspended No Way Garrett wrestled him to the ground and wouldn't let him get up and when he would let him get up he started pulling at Garrick's helmet and then deer and grabbed him by the face mask is jerking his head forward when David Castro comes in and around the Castro that's twenty slams Mason on the head I feel like I could be a kindergarten teacher two wrongs don't make a right eight five five two one two four two two seven Eric is listing in Green Bay Wisconsin welcome to after hours there's going to be good first of all I think that everybody should be suspended including Mason road off I think he's a mouthy Konkani was run is not the whole game I believe that there's a history with the Pittsburgh Steelers if you look back on a lot of these events that happened they are involved and they're the instigators much like back when Ryan Shazier instigating the exact in Cincinnati where everybody was all upset about Montez birth Victor volunteers Sharon voluntas perfect bond has perfect thank you gave a shoulder shrug to Antonio brown swap but he got hit by a Howard's around but nobody was talking about the fact that range use you're trying to go through that guy's head through here all along with the helmet and was on the jumbotron in Cincinnati doing this little dance on the sidelines laughing about how funny started okay well into new grounds not with the Steelers anymore so why don't you tell me what you think should happen in this situation the Pittsburgh Steelers have probably couple decades of getting cheap shots and bad calls before they are even in the karma scale so we got bad blood Harmon with lots of people towards the Pittsburgh Steelers whose they are so in other words why you're not going to tell me what you think should happen with miles care is that what's happening here to get fired or suspended for today I'm not excusing do but what was Mason Rudolph doing one and up this is Susan Gage back okay I'll put it back on you for you are you have pictures of Mason Rudolph in your locker or something you can't excuse this guy he needs to be punished also you can't try to rig the guys sounded off in your talk as if he was wouldn't get off limits you're watching in small mall that's it will you wouldn't get off of me driving him in the ground if he says sacked him he tackled him sack them and then he would let them handle it and he wouldn't let it up so Maseru drop with you do realize of course that was not something you think a male radio host right do I have pictures of Mason road often my locker first I don't have a locker second of all the answer is no and I appreciate you say your piece but I'm not sure that you want to bring that in a female radio host or any other female because that's disgusting let's talk to James is listing in Arizona James welcome to after hours thanks any long time listener that I've been with the Jack but I'm sorry I just want to say and they say the truth we should be discussing it suspended indefinitely let's call it what it is and nobody's called it what it is its assault with a deadly weapon nobody has said anything about that I mean I remembrances great I got in a fight with the kids and he got sick while he was on the ground another kid almost got arrested for assault with a deadly weapon because he was wearing issue with this was anything other than a football field he would be in jail right now let's call it what it is other than that I mean I don't wanna get into what should happen moved off and all of those people because I'm not judge jury and executioner anything like that but the fact of the matter is do get somebody on the head trying to take a life it could have taken well I did mention that earlier the the hem exactly the right way he definitely could have killed him could have knocked him out so I understand what you're saying in there are certainly situations in sports in the past there isolated situations but some situations where athletes across such line degree justly that there have been charges added on top I don't know that that's going to be the case here I generally what happens on the football field the court the ice they the league handle it and sighed I mean I guess maybe the Rudolph could if you wanted to attempt to file charges but I I don't yeah I don't I don't think that that is that how far this is going to go it it's a definitely was tempers running high and guys lost control themselves I mean you're gonna say that about miles gear it why not marquees county he was punching another man and kicking him while he was down so if if the assault happened with the the helmet as you call the deadly weapon then punching and kicking a man while he's down the ground that's also it's all right sure and and you know let it very well could be the same thing I mean I really I'm not to say about that but the when he actually made contact on the head with with new off I mean that's that's that's a that's a pretty serious that I mean in my eyes at least I don't I mean national TV everyone's watching children families you know and it's okay for some guy to just grab a helmet off and could broken his neck taken is held up by the way his chin strap watch strapped yeah the whole you know was the whole thing was it was disgusting I mean the whole thing was a was it I'm a mess and I'm sure that Mason rude often marquees county and also miles gear at art are going to wake up in and I hope at some point have this moment like holy crap I mean there didn't no one has anything to be proud of that's for sure and I got this other thing okay so I heard about this thing in an intricately baseball they had every single call outs straight balls all call by nine this guy and for the game the coaches the players everybody walked up to the empire's I was thinking how good of a game it was and once they were explains what happened how all call by nine the side everybody was shot we have you guys heard anything about this or if it's going to go anywhere or anything like that the eye in the sky technology yeah basically the whole game ball strikes out every every and they got every call right every call was was right it was kind of shocking you know that that they could possibly take the human element out of baseball yeah I mean I don't I don't know that you could do that with football I don't even think you should do with baseball certainly there have been other leagues who have tried the eye in the sky it's a technology that you know they've tried they've experimented with they've implemented at the NFL briefly considered it in the off season and the competition committee decided it wasn't something that they wanted to do James I appreciate your phone call thanks so much for listening in Arizona eight five five two one two four two two seven my friend Joe aka who is in the bay area and San Francisco says hi Gerry should be back until twenty twenty one that was a salt miles started it with a late hit them Mason try to pull as hell but off those two transgressions would be personal files but swinging a helmet and hitting Mason in the head equals a long suspension it reminded me of the longest yard of.

"Million seconds. That's a little over eleven days. How much time is three hundred and thirty million seconds. It's like over ten years. It gives you a little perspective as to how many dollars that actually has an unlike any other sport, it is all guaranteed, and I think that's what what he was going for you wanted to record. You got the money. It may not be the highest Daniel salary rate there other guys who have a higher one. But you know, I mean, you peers to be pretty happy, but he's going to have to produce or it's going to be miserable. I like that's a great phrase that your time on earth can be miserable. And that's no fun for anybody. Like, you know, we remember it and then co pulled up the sound Stanton. Got booed his first game at Yankee Stadium last year. And it was a game. The Yankees were winning. They had a five run. Lead and Stanton struck out. How many times I came? Well, wasn't the first game. We start at five times. There's a different game. He struck out five case, Dave, I mean, they didn't waste any time in New York, Mike, they'll let them have it right away. No. I mean, east coast. It's it's a different deal and. But look he's been playing back east for Washington. And and you know, they can be tough as well. But I think when you come up, and you're the favorite son, your homeboy, and they're a little more patient with you. But that is not going to be the case when you're a free agent mercenary, and you're expected to produce the numbers if he gets off to Charlotte last year, I think at the end of may sitting under two hundred. Is gonna be ugly, man. Oh, man. All right, Mike. Well, well, said on the bear situation will continue to follow it. It's a living breathing thing. And then of course, the roster changes that could happen to who knows outfielders in any moves. So, but it's good to know. You went down there. Yeah. Well, last one they're just kind of the Scottsdale vibe for you down there. You said it was Beatty. You said it was seeing the energy. "My favorite weekends is rarely playoff picture really starting to formulate. Here wanna make a little money. Listen to this, man. Our guy in Vegas Brandon Lang how you doing? Basket in the grow of the Clemson Tigers on Monday night. Yeah. Man. That's right. Amazing game. Love it. I made some amazing calls in this business. And and I think what. Was I literally said my analysis, which is posted up at brand lane dot com. Was I didn't think it was going to be close. I had Clemson beating them by double digits, but final is forty one thirty one. I had Clemson tag forty four forty one right there. I had them at twenty four getting a back door late. But clemson's defense allowed just under seventeen points a game for the year sixteen. So I remember going to say that actually. I kinda missed that. But I tell you what to cover the Jordan, which is as big as I go and hit that. And keep this role going go for a fourth straight winning week. And it's just been it's just been a hell of a run here man, but you need and like I said on your show as a handicap or the guy that does this for living. You learned enjoy these runs because when you know when they get like, this you just want to keep it going in college basketball at twenty six nine one after oldness last night plus four over over Auburn. So it's it's it's good right now. Let's talk in in terms of orders, all the things you look at what I think we've talked about this before. But what are some of the main people look at the the history. People look at the home versus away that sort of thing. What's one of your may, your main things you like to look at college hoop? Yeah. Colleges home dogs. I start with home dogs. So I don't really pretty much anything else. I look at every on every basketball card, I handicap every home dog, and I will find something I like example, but you last night, for instance, ole miss was eleven into Auburn was eleven and to Auburn had played one true road game all year was that NC state where they lost. They had been off for eleven days. And I'm a big Kermit Davis fan. The guy did a great job of middle. Tennessee state. He's a hell of a basketball coach, he's got. He's got an veteran back court, and I'm like just going to show up for your first true SEC road game. I don't care. You got all five starters back. You can't have an eleven day layoff, and you show up on the road and the SEC against a team in in all miss that is played incredible basketball. And I got a damn good coach four wire-to-wire one by fourteen and it was just one of those games where you just know from the first five minutes, you're on the right side where they're they're defending their getting. Offensive rebounds in. That's that's changed. My formula turn my college basketball product into one of the one of the best in the nation. Twenty six and nine twenty six twenty one have been underdogs that have won outright. Think about that. Cool. So it's it's it's that's the formula into your listeners out there that do wage your retirement purposes, only I switched away, you handicap, start with the underdog in any sport and work your way to the favourite if you do that you're going to see more dogs because if you start with the favorite you're gonna fall in love with the favorite, the favorites our favorite for reason. And sometimes you'll never work your way to the dog. If you start with the dog, I you're gonna find more dogs than what you'll find is the value of the number is always with the underdog Brandon Lang, our guest and Brandon talking about dogs, and my opinion, I see this as maybe a win for a dog and the best game of the weekend. As far as the playoffs. Go colts at chiefs. I think the colts have got a damn fine chance of beating the chiefs. Even though the what I'm seeing here's what do they have about four and a half four and a half five minutes. Clemson was a two hundred dimmer and I've hit six straight two hundred dollars in the NFL. Credible. This coach game is two hundred diamond number seven in a row, and the NFL I'd have it up on the website two days early. You can go there for a fifth straight college basketball whenever as well. You can never make a two hundred part of the one day free all access pass. But it is now so you can get it two days early in the college basketball wanted to keep the street going right now lean dot com. How do you see it? What are we what are we looking for in this game? Because the colts my feeling is that the colts have been on fire Kansas City, obviously, they speak for themselves. But this cold steam fire late they've come out of nowhere. Exactly, you're gonna need if you if you play Kansas City and the game you're gonna need Patrick Mahomes out plans, you luck. And you're going to see the Kansas City defense which hasn't been able to stop anybody all year long. They're twenty six against the run thirty first against the pass. And there's a thirty first ranked total defense in the NFL, and they're.
