'The Geography of Nowhere' With James Howard Kunstler

"A time, we had small towns. And in the small towns, the town elders, they cared about creating there'd be a green and there'd be a beautiful bank building. For urban design, there was based on the human body and human scale. And once we threw that in the garbage with in the traffic engineers became literally in charge of all the dimensions of how we lived and the deployment of all of the things on the landscape, then we lost all of that knowledge, all that vocabulary, and we started making a huge number of mistakes. And we produced environments that just destroyed people's minds. And now we can see the result of it. You know, we're living in a politically psychotic nation now. After about 70 years of that, there's no question about that. I think about, I mean, again, I'm just trying to process this for my audience a little bit, but I remember when I was reading your book, I started thinking about this, I thought everywhere I looked, this is true. There were downtowns that were beautiful and Danbury, Connecticut, where I grew up. It had a downtown, and it had a Civil War monument. And it had some beautiful buildings, and people would go there from wherever they lived, and they would do business and stuff. And over time, the energy and the life and whatever kind of got sucked out of the downtown and they would create a mall or strip malls or whatever. And so the downtown fell into, this is my favorite gym kunstler word, decrepitude. Well, I didn't invent it. I know, but you're the one that popularized it in my mind. All

Vin Scully's Voice Will Live On

"I want to speak about a man who just in a short period of time that I've been researching him is, in my opinion, one of the greatest voices of sports entertainment, one of the great, greatest voices, period. Someone who has a parent integrity, people love him. I can tell you what, when I was growing up, I didn't hear about him because I never watched baseball, but listening to Larry elder and people on the staff who are from Los Angeles, they tell me that Vince Scully was such an incredible man and has an incredible legacy and for those of you who may not know Vince Scully Vin Scully passed away, I believe he passed away last night. And I'm going to read a little bit of information about him and it's just that he was a Hall of Fame broadcaster. Whose voice provided the soundtrack to the summer while entertained, entertaining and informing Dodger fans and in Brooklyn in Los Angeles for 67 years. And he says he died Tuesday night as the team said, he passed away at the age of 94. So I want to play a couple clips just in memorial of Vince Scully and just to show my respect to him and a lot of my listeners that live in California that probably are familiar with him. Also, all around the country, I want to show my respect. So we'll play a couple clips from Vince Scully so you can get the normal little better if you don't already know. Wrote a clip. The only thing that helps me go in 67 years, as I said last night, is the grace of God. Let's face it. And that's out of my hand. The lord has blessed me. He gave me this job at such a youthful age, and allowed me to live and do it 67 years. What am I going to say? Darn it, why didn't I get number 68 or anything like that? No. I am totally at ease, I am so thankful, grateful. I've enjoyed every minute of it, believe me. Every minute.

Eric Greitens Is a Victim of Filthy Politics

"I do not claim expertise about Eric right. I do claim a fair amount of knowledge, the man seems to me to have been railroaded out of office when he was governor. And Republicans and Democrats feared him for reasons I am not quite certain of. So it is what it is and I can only say that you don't have an articulate young, very bright, good-looking, navy seal, Rhodes scholar, run every day. I think it's, I think there's a loss there. And it is what it is. Politics is a very, very awful thing in many occasions on many occasions. Larry elder, when running for governor in the Newsom recall, was smeared so spectacularly by the media, the most infamous of many infamous examples. Erica D Smith, who. If one can morally judge a human from what they write, it's not an impressive human being. Said that Larry was the black face of white supremacy. Is politics filthy or today than it was 50 years ago, I don't know.

We Have to Stop Blaming the White Man

"I just feel like we got to stop blaming the white man. And when I grew up, I can see that there were things we could have done to make our community much better. That didn't involve white people whatsoever. Your credit score has nothing to do with the color of your skin. Irresponsible teaching irresponsibility and not focusing on generational wealth is your fault. If you get money, you go out and buy a $400,000 chain, and you don't have any investments, you don't do anything. That's your fault. What if they got to do with the white man? Why are NFL players going bankrupt? Most of them are going 80% of NFL players go bankrupt. Why is that? Is that the white man? The white man giving you the money. That's because we don't teach our young boys how to handle money. We don't talk to them about finances. If we teach them to take their education serious, they get bullied in school by other black people and say that they act in white. My father told me he was bullied and I was doing the bullying. When I was in school, 'cause that's what you do. A guy wearing his pants around his waist, oh man, you're trying to be white. Now, nobody can tell me that's not happening. Oh, you trying to be white. You trying to be like the white man. We are doing that to ourselves. Why are some black people more successful than others? We all black is mindset is mindset.

FDA Slaps Warning on Puberty Blockers

"Another article from the daily wire, FDA officials warn of brain swelling, vision loss in minors using puberty blockers. PewDiePie blockers, I'm not going to be used to scientific work because I'm going to butcher it. It was at least put out there by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the FDA, earlier this month saying that drugs could cause brain swelling loss of vision and serious risk for children injecting the hormone. It's a particular hormone that's injected so that puberty can be blocked. So that if your mama is a child groomer and she wants you to be a boy and you a girl, they give you these puberty blockers so you don't develop as a girl. After puking. Why would you need puberty blockers if you were born this way? 'cause you don't need puberty blockers, these people are insane.

Larry Elder Talks About the 'Uncle Tom' Documentaries

"Uncle Tom is all about the struggle of black conservatives throughout America from the time of slavery until right now that people like look at T Washington have always believed in hard work, accountability and becoming excellent. And his argument was that even in the face of racism, if you learn a skill, a job, a trade, as well as or better than somebody else, you will be rewarded because people want the best. They want cheap. They want good quality. They want things that work. When I was a kid, I used to spend summers, my moms ranch. And my mom, mom, farm, rather. My mom told me there was a black man who couldn't read or write, who was the best chimney maker in the south. And the way of determining a good chimney maker is somebody that does not order too many bricks because if you order too many, the guy that's ordering them has to pay for them and to make sure that Jimmy does not smoke. It's not leak. And she said he was always employed by all these white people that wouldn't invite him in for tea, but they'd invite him to their chimney because he was the best. And so there have been many examples of that. We explore that in Uncle Tom one about people that worked hard to learn the skills and learn trade even in the face of tremendous racism and Jim Crow still managed to succeed and to overcome. And then we talk about how this attitude has now been changed by these people like Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton and Patrice colors, the cofounder of Black Lives Matter, essentially telling black people that you're victims. Always victims. Eternal victims, if victims of systemic racism, enduring racism, foundational racism, to the point where it's changed the attitude of a lot of black people and the worst work ethic of a lot of black people and more importantly the family structure. With the welfare state, as I said, a million times, we've encouraged women to marry the government and we've encouraged men to abandon their financial and more responsibility. And now we have not a scandal, but a scandal and a crisis, Brandon, 85% of black 8th graders are neither mass nor reading proficient. 85%, that means 85% of black 8th graders are functionally illiterate. And the NAACP just had their annual convention and what are they talking about? Reproductive rights, voting rights, student debt, and police brutality. That's their agenda. And so if long as our so called black leaders are focusing on the wrong thing, the solution will forever be elusive.

And Monday conversation about turning point USA. I put the young people at the conference in the same category as the protesters outside. And I don't like it when people make assumptions about me. And it's not any better when I make assumptions about other people, which I did. So my bad, I'm sorry. Okay, so the state of the U.S. State Department is oh, no, no. No, no, no, no. You little, you little nappy head. Sesame Street character. You can't just say that because somebody wrote a script. Listen, this is what makes me mad about people. That's why I don't have respect for a lot of people. You don't read an apology, you give a heartfelt apology because you were wrong. You don't get to say, well, hey, I don't like when people do me this way, so my bad. No it's not your bad. You completely lied and potentially put people in harm's way, financially, morally. I mean, just think about this. If you had classmates that knew that you went to a TPUSA event, and they had, they were under the impression that it's a fair and balanced event. And then they hear back that there was neo Nazis and white supremacists there. And then you began to have conflict with people around you, your friends and family, because some fool on the view with heath with hot flashes is lying on you. And then she gives some weak apology.

It's Sickening How Fragile Black People Are Over Racism

"Sickening to me is saddening to me that black people have been reduced to being the faberge eggs of society. You can't do nothing. You can own a football team. And you hire a coach based on marriage. Can he win you a championship or not? And that coach happened to not be black. They cried racism racism racism. They paying these black quarterbacks. $200 million contracts, but because they don't have a head coach that's black, they racist. Can somebody can somebody explain this to me? The salary cap goes to 80% black players. They're paying hundreds of millions of dollars to black players on the team. And because they don't hire a black coach who makes less money than the black players, then the whole league is racist. If you ask me, white people are disproportionately underrepresented in the NFL. They ain't out here whining and crying. Show me a defensive back that's white that make more money than black defensive backs.

"I told y'all I told y'all I told y'all, this was happening. I told you, I told you. Black family sued sesame place for $25 million. Alleging discrimination. I knew it was all about the money. And for those of you who are not familiar with the situation, it was a viral video online out in Philadelphia where I think it was in Philadelphia. Where a black family, it's just like, it's an 8 second clip. And you know that there's more to it, but you know they cut the clip. An 8 second clip showing shows a character from Sesame Street. Walking down a road only like a parade and there's kids on the side families on either side of the roadway. The camera only shows 8 seconds of the Sesame Street character, shaking their hand at high 5 and people and then they shook his hand. I don't know if it's a he or she or whatever whoever's behind the mask. Shook your hand at one group of people off camera, walked over to little girls so standing up, two black girls, they have their hands stretched out and he kind of shakes the hands at them and continue to walk. Mama only showed 8 seconds of video. I know you know that that lady had to be recorded for at least a minute. Why did she not show the full video? We all know why she didn't show the full video because she full of crap. And she's claiming that Sesame Street or sesame place discriminated against our kids.

How Amala Ekpunobi Moved From Leftist Activist to PragerU Influencer

"Working at a leftist organization, we have meetings just like any other organization, but our meetings start a little differently. We do something called community agreements. And community agreements are when you write out rules for how the meetings are going to proceed. Things like say your pronouns before you introduce yourself. Let the most depressed people in the room speak first. You would think that language alone would be annoying enough to make me leave the organization, but it wasn't enough. And one day, a fellow employee got up and started writing these community agreements on the board. And she said, and to all the white people in the room. Maybe don't speak at all during this meeting. You've had the stage for long enough, and this is not your place anymore. And I looked around this room, my head on the swivel, and I saw all of my coworkers agreeing with this smiling, nodding their heads, and I thought, wait a second. I might be in the wrong room here. And I went to this organization and heard all this racist rhetoric towards white people, and then went home to my white family that had taken care of me in my entire life. And I just couldn't hold the two ideas in my brain at the same time. So I went to the VP of the organization. And I spoke to him and said, you know, I don't understand. We claim to be the tolerance side, but I'm hearing all this racism behind the walls of this organization. And he said, you simply don't know how oppressed you are. That was his answer to me. You simply don't know how oppressed you are. It's not my job to teach you, and it's not my fault that you are not as angry as you should be. And that was the worst thing he could have said because within a matter of months, I was gone. I had left that organization. And guess what? I had all these unanswered questions, so I went to the Internet and what did I find? I found good old Dennis prager. And alongside Dennis prager, I found Tom sol, I found Larry elder. I found Dave Rubin. I found all of these people who were willing to sit down and talk to me, albeit through a screen about why I might be wrong about some of the things that I was thinking. Why I might not be as oppressed as I thought I was. And I didn't welcome that with open arms at first. I had gone to the Internet to reinforce what I believed. I did not want to hear a dissident opinion. I certainly did not want to hear from a conservative.

"So I have had three big dialogs with the famous lawyer Alan Dershowitz. Oh, yes, Harvard Law professor. That's right. He's a Harvard Law professor exactly and he is a lifelong liberal lifelong Democrat. He's not a leftist. And he's very courageous and he's lost all his friends because he's not a leftist. He's a liberals who are true to liberalism are anti left. That's the way it works. But anyway, so we dialog in New York City in Miami and in LA. The first one was in New York City. This is at least 20 years ago. And it was about, should you be liberal or conservative? And the issue arose about belief in the Torah, the central book of Judaism and of Christianity for that matter. And that's the first 5 books of the Bible. So at some point, I said, ladies and gentlemen, I just realized the biggest difference between Alan Dershowitz and myself. When professor Dershowitz differs with the Torah, he thinks he's right. Right. And a tour is wrong. And when I differ with the tour, this is you speaking, I think I'm wrong in the tours, right? Yes. You said that in your commentary. In which commentary. And your genesis commentary. Oh, oh, did I? Yeah, you quoted that. I thought that was great. So did I write in the commentary what his reaction was? He said that's absolutely right. Yeah, so the first type that I did is that I agree. I highlighted that, I mean, of course I highlight everything. I'm sorry, it's a compliment, but it's true. I highlight everything in that commentary. "I really wish that the message would be explained. You know, Larry, do you think you think that we're improving here? As far as our country and the rhetoric getting to the inner city communities, because I'm often questioning, is it getting through the minds of young people? Because when we talk, they come and criticize us in a painters. It's Uncle Tom's. And it's hard to get the message out. Well, it's all about telling the truth. And now it's about 20% of black men voted for Donald Trump in 2016. The highest ever and you're finding a declining numbers regarding Joe Biden because of crime because of inflation because of the price of gas. So I think there is a there's some signs of hope that maybe just maybe some people need to rethink their assumptions. So I'm hopeful. We just got to keep telling the truth, Brandon. I was giving a speech one time. And as you know, frequently, I'm invited by Republican clubs and almost invariably just a handful of blacks are there. So I'm giving a talk and there's a black guy standing in the back. Big guy, his arms are folded and he's taking his head left to right when I'm making a point. I think this guy's going to kill me. So the speech is over. The guy comes up and he said, I am mad. Not it's you. I made it myself. I thought I was on top of things. I had no idea that there was a 50% interest in the dropout rate. And I had no idea that regarding interracial black white violent crime, not homicide, 85% black and white victim, only 15% the other way around. Why the Left Sees Clarence Thomas as a Threat

"So there's a few subjects that I want to talk about. You know, I was going to start out with O. J. Simpson, but I think that's too hot for the audience now. We'll get to OJ, but I want to hear from you, Larry. About your always nice to hear what kind of comments O. J. Simpson has. What if Jonathan Smollett think? Exactly. Probably the two least people with credibility on Planet Earth. But I wanted to talk to someone a little more serious because I wanted to bring you on a talk about what's happening to clarence Thomas, because I think the all out racist attack on clarence Thomas is despicable. And I wanted to hear your thoughts Larry on what they're doing to such an honorable intelligent, great, respected man, now that roe V wade has been overturned. Well, it isn't just roe V wade, although that's the latest reason that they're jumping up and down about clarence Thomas. But they've always hated clarence Thomas. He refused the narrative. So do you so do I? These are proud black men who do not believe that America is systemically racist. I do not believe it's a major problem facing America anymore and refutes the whole left wing narrative. The whole left wing narrative is that America is full of racism. We need to have things like critical race theory and all sorts of special handouts and privileges for black people because they won't be able to navigate through America because America has so many white races in it. So somebody like Claire and Thomas is a direct threat. And so after this case comes down, by the way, he's not even the one that wrote the majority of the decision. It was a who wrote it. But he's the one getting all the flag.

So I think it would be wise, you know, just seeing what's going on. For everybody to get on the Internet, go to the library, learn how to raise the vegetables that you like. And at least the price of that is going to be a lot cheaper than what's in the grocery store. All right, hey,.

"S 8 GE triple 8 9 7 one 7 two four three I am Larry elder. We are really affected our comm studio. Now we're heading into the weekend. I want to invite you to join my campaign for food for the poor. And you have really stepped up so far as you do every single year at this time and I'm so incredibly appreciative. Food for the poor raises money for the poorest of the poor right here in the western hemisphere. Where the average Haitian lives on one dollar a day, I kid you not. Can you imagine eating a dirt cookie? Not uncommon for Haitian boys to do that and girls to do that because they just want to put something anything in their stomachs. So please go to my website, Larry, elder dot com. You see the big give life banner at the very top. Or you can phone it in. 8 5 5 9 one 8 hope that's 8 5 5 9 one 8 hope. I've gone to Guatemala and the reason I went there on behalf of food for the poor, is to see from myself exactly what happens. Why is it that with a relatively small donation, you can provide food for a year and water for life? That's because much of the food is donated and the money is used to construct wells so that the village will be able to have water indefinitely. So please, go to my website, Larry elder dot com, you'll see the big banner at the very top. Or you can do it by phone. 8 5 5 9 one 8 hope that's 8 5 5 9 one 8 hope..

"Right, welcome back to the Larry elder show. Let me talk to you about food for the poor. Any time we raise funds for our friends at food for the poor, somebody always asks exactly where will my donation go? If I give $88 or more to food for the poor, well, that's easy. It will go directly to the poorest of the poor right here in our own hemisphere. Countries like Guatemala, Honduras, and many more where food for the poor serves and to people just like this young mother of twins who brought her shockingly malnourished kids to a clinic supported by food for the poor. When I came to the clinic with the twins, they weren't well. They were skinny. People from home used to humiliate me because of how bad they were. So I joined the program at food for the poor, and they've done so much for me. If you see my twins now, you won't recognize them. If it weren't for the program, they wouldn't be alive. Food for the poor has done so much for me. Mothers like her are who you can help with the generous gift to food for the poor. Please go to Larry elder dot com and click on the give life banner or phone your donation to 8 5 5 9 one 8 hope just $88 feeds a starving child for an entire year and provides clean water for life or if you can donate a $175, you'll feed two hungry kids for a year. Again, please call 855-918-4673. That's 8 5 5 9 one 8 hope or please. Just click on the give life banner at Larry elder dot com. All right,.

And several people called and talked about the fact that they had no father figure. One guy called you might recall and said, I joined a gang because I had no father figure. I had no uncle had nobody to provide guidance to me. Had somebody shown some kind of kindness. Somebody showed some kind of compassion. Somebody showed some kind of care. Who knows what would have happened? Who knows how many people would have thought, okay, my dad's not around. My dad is behind bars. My mom's not around. My mom might be behind bars, but there are people who still care. They're still people who give a rip about whether or not I turn out okay and whether or not I'm smiling on Christmas Day at the very least. So let's just show them that there are people out there just like that. Again, Christmas just around the corner, 17 days away. So I'm continuing my campaign to help boys and girls and sometimes sadly even both are in prison. The number of females in prison is rising, and they can experience the joy of Christmas the love of Christ through the nonprofit prison fellowship angel tree campaign. Please go to my website. "Me said reverend Al sharp, and I'm looking at your face. I know who you are, reverend Jackson. We all do. I'm sorry. Want to get away? I mean. I suppose it could have been worse. Now, the late great golfer Lee elder just died. And I saw an article with the following headline. Is Larry elder related to the late golf legend Lee elder, and the article goes on and talks about Lee elder being born in Texas in 1934, youngest of ten kids. His father was killed in action during World War II, mom passed away after that. He and his siblings were raised by their aunt in California, went on became a caddy during to money became eligible for the PGA Tour in 1967. They had lifted his color barrier back in 1961 and in 1975, Leo became the first black golfer to play in the masters. Died on November 28th, 2021 was 87 years old, survived by his wife, Sharon elder. And the article explored whether or not Lee elder was related to lario. Well, I will tell you the elder is not related to me, needs not to my knowledge. And my dad was born in Athens, Georgia. I was born in LA. And to my knowledge, my the name elder has no relation to Leo. And keep in mind, the name elder was a man who was in my life. My dad's life the longest he was not my death biological father. So it's not likely that we're related to the elder, but I started practicing law in 1977 and Lee elder became the first black golfer in the masters in 1975. So it happened shortly before I became an associate at a major law firm in Cleveland. Now if I had a nickel for every time this happened, I could probably retire. Here's a scene. I'm in the law firm and a white partner who's probably in his late 40s, 50s or 60s. It's introducing me to another white person. It could be a potential client. Could be another person just visiting a friend, anything in the hall. Excuse me, this is Larry elder. He's one of our associates. And the white person would respond highly that happened over and over and over again. I practiced law at this law firm for a little under three years, and I am not exaggerating, I would say that happened at least at least 50 times. When some white lawyer at the law firm is introducing me to somebody and the person to whom he's introducing me, here are some say this is my associate Larry elder in the guy promptly says highly. Happened over and over and over again. And I would always say, well, you're thinking about Leo to the golfer. My name is Larry older, no relationship. And they would turn and they would turn beat red. And I would just smile and I basically say calm down. It's fine. Now I had no idea. I had the power to get this guy fired. That's probably the partner fired for allowing it to happen. And I have a theory as to why this happened over and over again. It's because when a white person meets a black person, the white person is really, really on guard to avoid the perception. The scintilla of Professor of prospection, perception, that he's racist. So they're not paying attention. They're going, oh my God, black person. I gotta be on guard. Gotta make sure that I'm woke, although that word was not used back then. That's what it is. They're nervous. They're not listening. Now, when I would be introduced to people who were black, there were a lot of black people at the law firm, only a handful of us were associate, but there were clerks, a paralegals, secretaries, and whenever I'm introduced to one of them, nobody said, this is mister Larry elder. He's no one said hi Lee. No one did that. No one black, just whites. And I'm not saying all whites did it. But when it happened, it was white who did it. Happened over and over again 'cause it get nervous. They're not listening. They're not paying attention. Well, you know, of course they have that privilege. I don't know. Hi Lee, Kylie happened over and over and over again. Who knew I had the power to get them fired? Who knew I had the power to get them terminated? Without pay. Triple 8 9 7 one S 8 GE coming up.
