Border appears calm after lifting of pandemic asylum restrictions
"There's relative calm at the U.S. Mexico border following a major immigration policy change. I Norman hall, there has been relative calm at the border between the U.S. and Mexico, despite the lifting of the rules known as tidal 42, there hasn't been the chaos that was expected. Some migrants with asylum application appointments walked across access points in hopes of a new life. Others defied warnings and waded into the Rio Grande. El Paso mayor Oscar leeser says his city is preparing. We know that this is just the beginning. So we are prepared. And that's what we've been preparing for. Police says there needs to be a lot more immigration judges and he believes migrants should be given work permits to support their families. I Norman hall

Fresh update on "el paso" discussed on Bloomberg Markets
"I think this week was we snapped at the 16 -week streak of outflows outflow into municipal by flows from municipal bond funds we saw 460 million come in this week what was the catalyst there we're getting higher yields we're getting this this higher coupons out there there's also let's face it the relief from the you know the debt limit you know being passed so there is that very much that you know it looks like things there's are more it's more constructive as the analyst why were there so many weeks of outflows oh you know there was everything to worry about first of all you have the Fed and there still is uncertainty about the Fed because you know we're carrying stories about you know the Fed is probably gonna pause next week well perhaps not so there's still a lot of uncertainty in that area and that's that was the biggest reason for the outflows there was also you know the limit's been hanging over the market now for probably month and a half two months so you know between those two things that's why people were clearing out and you know too we had you know you were getting loads of deals priced with two three percent four percent coupons not exactly enticing but now fives five and a half's we're kind of back to really a formula of higher and I gotta call my guys New Jersey's coming out with any stuff that kind of coupon jumping I'm back in the market oh yeah but but now you know five percent coupons and uh you know we're in uh you know I want to say it's a it's a better place plus you know right now very little volume in our market you know I think we're down we're about 150 billion which is off about 20 % and if you're talking about number of issues you're probably off 30 % so it's not exactly a lot of pressure. Is that because rates have gone up and issuers don't want to sell at those high rates yeah but I thought I thought the issuers you've always told us they don't care what they gotta pay well they they don't if they have to come to market they'll come to market but so many of them don't have to come to market because the they a lot of them still have the COVID relief money or a portion of it that still hasn't all been allocated. So what about when when we were talking about SVB when it came to that seven billion dollar beauty portfolio seen as basically requiring this sort of deep concession what's happening with that? Well I think BlackRock it was is running the municipal bond auctions and I know they've sold off a good portion of that already but they're not gonna you know it's they're gonna dole it out a little at a time you don't you know just say all at once well here you go mini market here's you know these billions for you no it's a little bit we'll dole it out that way but you know as we quoted an analyst this week saying you know the banks were really caught holding a lot of low coupon stuff you know two percent three percent and all that took a big hit with the Fed you know making its move the last couple of years. All right let's talk one of my favorite topics which is Las Vegas. Professional sports teams have been flocking there over the last several years. First we had the hockey team. I can't even think. Aren't they in the finals? I think I don't know. football And then there. The Raiders and now the Oakland A's are coming down. They need a stadium Joe. And I'm just guessing that this is going to require a little bit of public financing. Oh yeah we have at least 380 billion dollars in various subsidies and tax breaks construction and infrastructure that are rolled in there and it's a total I think it's a 1 .5 billion stadium we've been calling it and This week we had Max Adler write about the Nevada lawmakers have been called back into session second special session to discuss the financing package for the A's. I am in no doubt that this is going to pass because Las Vegas is just such a in powerhouse so many ways. They're printing money out there. I can't imagine this won't get approved. This is going through. Any sort of timetable as far when we could find out when that may happen. Oh this is going to be you know certainly within the next couple of weeks and then they you know set up the various parts of it including the which actual I bond know that issue Mr. Sweeney wants to get a part of. Totally I mean I'm just looking I've been to a couple of Yankee games out in the Oakland Stadium. Man that thing is ancient. Yes. I mean it is rough and nobody goes to those games. It's not as bad as Tampa Bay maybe but boy it is rough out there. And it's for such a great city it's just brutal but I think we're finding out in that Bay Area market can't really support this whether it's football whether it's baseball. That's what it looks like. Yeah but you know the Warriors you know moved they to a great new arena in downtown San Francisco right by the water right by the Pac Bell Park which is not I'm sure what it's called anymore but so that's a great area downtown San Francisco but it looks like you know the age you're going to Vegas and the gonna pay public's up a little bit here. Oh yeah. And I think that I bet you those bonds will be snapped up. Oh easily You know in fact I wrote about a bond issue out today call him out today For the El Paso Chihuahuas AAA El Paso Chihuahuas. Texas. Yes. They were going into the action today 15 games back in third place behind the Oklahoma City Dodgers. So they're coming out with a bond to pay? Yeah they sold bonds earlier on for debt service savings. you imagine But could you know you get your you know you're making your way up in the minors and and You get to say I'm a Chihuahua. Chihuahua El Paso Texas. All right so how are the funds flows into Munis? Are you talking about that we have some funds first for the time coming back in do you expect that to continue or what are the folks in the market I would I would expect it to be coming back in now and you say you have higher yields there's relief over the debt limit being passed and you know you do have year -to -date I know you're always asking this performance over 2 % and that's it you know and then you get the tax adjustment there it's even better so so yeah I would expect that we're going to see more inflows and there's nothing on the horizon I mean there's no big mutie disaster on the horizon you know that would throw people off the game. All right I'm going to call my guy to make sure he's on the lookout for some New Jersey munis. I like the coupons I'm hearing about exactly. Joe Micek guess what? No that's it? That's it. The end of our time together for this week. Joe Micek he covers all things municipal bonds for Bloomberg briefs for our weekly update which we always save for Friday on your municipal bond market against a positive return this year after 2022 where the whole fixed space income was just ravaged in terms of negative performance. We're gonna have more coming up. This is Bloomberg. Let's get some company news right now. Steve Rappaport. Good morning Paul. General Motors is the latest maker to join Tesla's electric vehicle charging network. CEO Mary Barra made the announcement during a Twitter Spaces conversation with Elon Musk. We plan to adopt the North American charging standard and we're working really hard that our first vehicle will come in 2025. To me what's even more exciting is that our existing EV customers can leverage the 12 ,000 Tesla fast chargers early next spring with an adapter so I couldn't be more excited about what this is going to do for customers and for EV adoption. Barra says the partnership will almost double access to EV chargers for GM customers. Shares of General are Motors up more than 2%, Tesla stock up more than 5%, OD asset management is scrambling to keep clients from jumping ship as founder Crispin Odie faces more allegations of sexual assault. a dozen At least women tell The Financial Times Odie sexually abused or harassed them for years. Bloomberg's Nishant Kumar reports. Odie denies all those allegations. Last night the company's CEO came out wrote a letter to clients and we broke that news early today morning and he wrote that his lawyers are looking into the claims and senior management really do not recognize the picture painted in Financial Times report.

Savanah Hernandez Reports From Ground Zero of the El Paso Border
"Savanna Hernandez is on with me, TPUSA, front lines, reporter extraordinaire from the border. Savannah, great to meet you, where are you right now, exactly? I mean, currently in El Paso, Texas on the American side of the border and what you see are seeing behind me is the world that is, again, protecting us from all of the illegal crossing from water to Mexico. Okay, so you're right there. I'm seeing some border barrier behind you. Is that one of the ones with the big gaps within the barrier where people can just kind of funnel through right there. There's border gaps that you see all the time. So there aren't really border gaps in this area, but what I want people to understand about the way that this is set up is that the wall in El Paso is basically set up at the edge of the city, but there is a bunch of federal land on the other side. So those migrants are still very easily to cross over from Mexico into the United States and then once they're in the United States they're getting processed. We just can't see it as easily because it's on the other side of this wall that border patrol will not allow us to go past. So El Paso is getting overwhelmed, all their shelters. They're calling it one of the biggest humanitarian crises that we've ever seen. What are you seeing on a humanitarian level? Because the footage has just been unbelievable in terms of trash in terms of people coming up that are just clearly just worn down, filthy, they've been through hell trying to get here because they think they can get in and stay here. There seems to be a narrative the left is missing. Absolutely, when I got here on Tuesday, that's exactly what the scene was. When you walk the streets of downtown El Paso, you would see piles of trash boxes of opened uneaten food that were attracting a lot of animals. They were unused clothing on the ground. The streets reek of urine and there are human feces just scattered throughout downtown, so it is not a clean environment at all.

Sheriff Mark Lamb Comments on Mayorkas' Plan to Undermine America
"Highlight something for you sheriff. Bill melus put out a tweet. He said, FYI, when you hear DHS secretary mayorkas say that migrants are placed into removal proceedings, that does not mean they are being removed. Sometimes it does, but a large majority of the time it means release with future court date, that is part of title 8 removal proceedings. Well, then he follows that up here with this is a news nation reporter on the board. He says, I'm speaking with Venezuelan migrants in El Paso who have been released with NTA's notice to appear with a court date in 2026. 2026, they get a three year Visa basically. Well, you beat me to it. I was actually telling you that the average core date was two to four years now. It's about three to 5 years from now. So they give them the ability to come into this country and not be held accountable for coming into this country illegally. They're giving them court dates from who knows when. And you don't have enough judges to process all the thousands of people that are covered. Hey, and so imagine, are those court dates ever even going to happen? And they have the statistic for those who show back up to court is extremely low. So basically, they know that once we let them in, the likelihood of them actually going through the process and becoming legal is very low, but yet they continue to do it. They know the damage this is causing yet they're refusing. They're turning a blind eye to it. And to me, it feels like it's on purpose that they are actually undermining this country. You're doing it at the southern border. It's basically like they've looked at how can we screw this up the most royally possible, let's do that.

Rep. Chip Roy: Biden Has Not Prepared for the End of Title 42
"This title 42 drops out I guess on Thursday and what is the Biden administration done to prepare for this Well virtually nothing I mean your listeners are really smart but just like a recap right I mean title 42 is the provision that is under our health code laws that has been used as a band aid on a gunshot wound to stop about a third to a half of the flow of people coming into the country So for example if we had 200,000 encounters in March a 100,000 of those were turned away under title 42 but on Thursday that no longer applies because the COVID emergency is allegedly now officially formally ending on Thursday and the Biden administration So that means our guys are under fees They're getting absolutely crushed I'm getting text messages from border patrol agents from DPS About what's happening down at the border 15,000 Venezuelan migrants that are sitting up right across the river from Brownsville We've got hundreds of thousands of people that are starting to head up towards the northern Mexico region Our hospitals overrun our cops are overrun I got a text message from guy earlier that said he said it's basically quote broken arrow right Like basically a military term saying that they've fully lost control in 25 27,000 people in detention only 5000 process and they're getting hundreds of by the minute And they don't have any place to put them The state of emergency has been declared in El Paso a state of emergency has been declared in Laredo a state of emergency has been declared in Brownsville San Antonio is preparing in their migrant center It is so bad Mark I don't even know how to put into words

"We have John Martin El Paso shelter director El Paso pretty much on the front lines He's the sheltered director On MS LSD yesterday Cut 8 go The reality is that we're overwhelmed We've got several partners within the community All of the emergency shelters are operating at or over capacity And to give you an example of our situation with the opportunity center for the homeless we've got 200 inside the shelter and we've had up to 810 outside the shelter camped in the alley So it truly is a humanitarian crisis And this is before title 42 is lifted on Thursday night at midnight What do you expecting coming Friday Well you're absolutely correct It's all started for us a little over a week and a half ago when we saw the influx come in and then it's exponentially increased And it is prior to the lifting of title 42 All right Well that's going to be it's going to be fun The Joe Biden stands for the families of America America This is why he's a 36% And I don't know who these 36% are probably mental institutions

Rep. Andy Biggs Explains Why the US May Soon Have 15K New Illegals
"Further ado, I want to welcome in representative Andy Biggs from the great state of Arizona. Congressman, thank you for joining joining the show. Thanks, Andrew. Thanks for having me. Congressman, I wish it was on a brighter news that we were having you here. Title 42 is set to expire tomorrow. You know, I think our audience is probably roughly aware that this is happening. We've talked about it on the show, but paint the picture for us. Obviously, representing the state of Arizona, what does this actually gonna look like? How big of a deal is this? Well, you take the crisis that currently sits on the border today and double it. That's what it will look like. So right now, the apprehensions are about 8 to 9 thousand people a day. And we anticipate those going 14 to 16, maybe even a thousand a day, even higher. Not only that, you're going to Homeland Security, I'll just tell you, they just put out a public statement, public notice, informing the cartels of a targeted operation that they're going to do in one sector, one location, they're going to put these resources there. So guess what? The cartels now know if you got bad guys drugs, human sex traffickers. They're going to go to these other sectors because they're not going to do operations though. Of course. It's just absolutely nuts and El Paso has already said that it's a humanitarian crisis there. They do not have enough NGOs or facilities facilities to process all these people already coming over. That's how bad it already is and there's literally hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people awaiting to come through beginning tomorrow.

Humanitarian Catastrophe Unfolds at Southern Border
"Been being invaded, called a soft invasion, a cold invasion, since Joe Biden took office. That much is clear and what we're about to see unfold at the southern border is a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions and it's not funny. It's not there's nothing there's no upside. It simply is the fact, and it's a self inflicted wound. You can see that right now, if you're watching some of the B roll from the border, Joe Biden is sending 1500 troops to the border to basically push paperwork. They're not allowed to interact with migrants, they're not allowed to do any of the actual work that you might associate with border patrol activities, they are just there, I guess, has a PR ploy, and they're being brought in from South Carolina all the way to El Paso, 1500 is not enough to do anything. If you might remember Texas had about 10,000 earlier, and again, 1500 is basically a PR move, nothing's going to happen.

NYC Mayor Calls Out Biden WH for Illegal Immigration Crisis
"Mayor of New York, a Democrat. Eric Adams is literally calling out the Biden administration at this point. Things have gotten so bad. That Eric Adams is blaming Biden for illegal immigration in America. Don't believe me? Check this out. This is not about to asylum seekers and migrants. All of us came from somewhere to pursue the American Dream. It is the irresponsibility of the Republican Party in Washington for refusing to do real immigration reform. And it's the irresponsibility of The White House for not addressing this problem. Brownsville, Texas, El Paso, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago. We should not be burdened the weight of this problem. And so it's not about the people who are pursuing the American Dream. It's the irresponsibility of those that are allowing them to come to a country and not build the infrastructure to allow them to pursue that dream. You realize how epic that is that the Democrat mayor of New York City is blaming Joe Biden. I mean, in fairness, he also blamed the Republicans for failing to act and actually that has some merit. There's some truth to that. You know, it's time that we fix this, Republicans have tried. Democrats want open borders. You got to always go back to that. They believe in the open border vision of America.

The Red Cross Is Mapping Out Routes for Illegals to Cross the Border
"Debbie showed me this article on the Red Cross, and it's a little disturbing. It's the Red Cross has guides for U.S. bound migrants that have maps of the border, resources along the journey, lists of things to do when you encounter dangers along the highway. And it even goes to the extent of telling people like bring your contraceptives with you in necessary cases, Red Cross clinics and medical brigades will give them to you for free. So this appears to be like a how to be an illegal manual. Well, that's disturbing to the contraceptives. I mean, are they saying that they're going to get raped along the way so they may as well bring well, either that or, hey, listen, if you want to, I mean, who knows what they're saying, they appear to be just trying to make life easy and show people where to go. I mean, this is almost like a, you know, I mean, to the degree that crossing the border is an illegal act. This is to me no different than how to rob a bank. Yeah, no, it is. Right? Yeah. So, and these packets apparently come their stamped with the international committee of the Red Cross and the American Red Cross. So they show you what do they show you? Hotels and clinics and shelters. They have clearly defined lines that take you to various parts of El Paso, Texas, nogales, Arizona, I lived close to nogales. Met Gala in Texas. And so, and evidently all of this has also been funded by the U.S. government. By the Biden administration. Shocker. So the Red Cross apparently is part, gets grants from fema. The federal emergency. So what fema says, and again, this is all put into the garb of humanitarian. Well, you know, these guys are coming in and anyway, so we got to make sure they don't starve or you know when we drive to the valley and we see those big tubs of water. Yeah, that's agua. And so you're like thinking, um, why would they have that on the side there of the king ranch, which is like total desolation. There's nothing there. But they have these big tubs. Why? Because they're expecting for these illegals to walk through there and oh, you know, they need water, so there's agua.

"So we service all 50 states as well to here in El Paso. Okay, you know what I was just thinking about the border thing being a border city. You probably have a lot of Spanish speakers and documents are in Spanish. I imagine to get them the documents to be legitimate here in the states. They have to be an English format. You can't send something to the state of Texas, for example, in Spanish. Is that right? How do you guys overcome that or deal with that? Yes, sir. So we do have a translator here at the office as well to social translate the documents from Spanish to English from everything from a marriage license. So birth certificate and then I will be able to notarize the document myself. We also do apostles as well too, which we work with a third company out in Austin, Texas. So you don't even look the finger for the apostle or a translation, just drop off the documents to us, and we'll take care of all the hard work. Oh, cool. Apostle service. I'm familiar with that. Do you guys do a lot of those? Yes, we do. We average maybe three, four, a week. And we actually serve pretty much all the countries around the world. Here in El Paso, so if you have a document or a merit certificate out of India, we'll be able to take care of that for you as well too or even far away from China or even country in Europe will take care of that apostle work for you. Okay, cool. You know, just occurred to me. You guys, I know that I kind of looked this up before we interviewed today that a notary can only charge like $6 at first. But is there any additional fees for going out to come visit me? I imagine you have to charge something, right? Yes. What are your feet starting? So you are absolutely correct. So it's $6 per signing per document. And we do charge a mobile fee, which is going to be $25 per mobile. And that goes for anywhere in El Paso, even if you're on the 7 9 9 one two zip code, which is the west side or to the 7 9 9 three 8 zip code, which is on the far east side. It will be the same $25, but we charge 6 additional dollars for the documents. Okay, great. So I actually like to end these interviews with something fun or something interesting. What sticks out in your mind is the most crazy or funniest or just coolest notary you've ever done. Oh man, there I could literally write a book on me being a notary for the last 5, 6, 7 years I've been doing this. It's an amazing job what I do. But to answer that question, I will I did two notaries on one day. One was around the afternoon around 5 o'clock. "Awesome. Okay, so you know, I'm not a truck driver myself, but I understand if you have a commercial driver's license or a CDL, you're not eligible to take defensive driving. So obviously, you can't guarantee this missile every time, can you? No, the way the law is right now is they're very, very strict on commercial driver's licenses. Who get traffic citations. And the reason why is because they have a tremendous greater responsibility because they're usually the ones that you see on the roadway driving the semis, the 18 wheelers. The state of Texas wants to prevent people from having a license if they have multiple violations or convictions on their record, the state does not want you operating those types of vehicles because they can potentially be very deadly on the road. An employer certainly aren't going to hire a commercial driver if they have anything on their record. So the way the law works so unfortunately is that you can't do any type of deferred disposition so that it doesn't go on your record. The state wants wants to get a conviction on your record and the reason why is because they have no other alternatives to offer you as a defense lawyer. The best that they can offer you as a reduced fine. So I handle commercial driver's license, tickets, a little bit differently in that we will do everything we can to try to get those dismissed oftentimes we'll actually end up having to go to a jury trial on those, especially the author of members and there are no mistakes on the documents of the state provides us. And we also handle with the whole appellate process as well, because we understand that commercial garbage licenses can not have anything affecting their record. And so we have to fight those very, very vigorously because the state prosecutors, they have.

"They set their own cases based on based on their availability based on the officers based on when they can get a prosecutor. So it generally can take anywhere from approximately three to 6 months on average. But as a defense lawyer, I will tell you that the longer it takes to get your citation resolved, it's actually maybe to your benefit. Because over time, witnesses tend to lose their memory. Especially police officers who is going to be the primary and only witness that may be testifying against you. They oftentimes forget because he's police officers deal with issuing thousands of tickets in a month. And so the longer you push the delay out, generally the better chances are of you actually ultimately eventually getting a dismissal. Now if you're on a time constraint, let's say you're trying to get a job and your employer wants you to resolve your traffic tickets that are still outstanding. Oftentimes we will definitely try to put pressure on the courts to go ahead and give you as quickly as possible a court date. And we will file a motion to expedite your traffic ticket if that is requirement that you're asking us to do. But just but if not, I say the benefit is that the longer delay that you're citation takes with the courts, the chances are better that you are going to possibly get the citation dismissed so that you don't have to pay any fines, any core costs, and it won't be on your record. Great, great. I just got a couple more questions for you before I let you go. I know you're pretty busy guy. But obviously you're going to do movement violations like speeding tickets, failure to signal on a change of lanes. But do you also do just paper violations like when people have inspection or registration, no insurance stuff like that? Yes, absolutely..

El Paso Local Area Business Talk
"el paso" Discussed on El Paso Local Area Business Talk
"And then you're also going to then have to deal not only with the original citation that you receive. Let's say you received citation for speeding or failing to signal or running a red lot. You're going to have to also deal with a citation that was issued for you're not appearing within the 20 days that the ticket citation instructed you to do. That's a separate ticket that you will also have to deal with. And keep in mind that these are class C misdemeanors, which are punishable by up to $500 in fines. That's not including core cost. So it's very likely that you could end up potentially having to pay thousands of dollars for a ticket that you have that has turned into a warrant. But I can definitely help you all with that. And I'd be happy to explain the process of what we do when you do have a warrant. Well, that sounds like a lot of money for just a traffic ticket. You know, sometimes people just don't want to deal with the headache. What if they just decide to just pay the fine directly or just pay their ticket off? Why can't I do something like that? Well, you can do that, but I strongly recommend that you don't do that because once you do that, then that becomes a conviction on your record. And that conviction will stay on your record. It will make it very difficult if you are looking for work and employer is going to likely do a background check and I'll see that you have a ticket. And that's definitely going to be an issue that you'll have to address with any potential employer. And also in the state of Texas, they do still suspend licenses for people who have multiple violations. The state, even though they did away with the surcharge program back in 2019, they are still suspending licenses for people who have a poor driving record..

"Higher risk category as far as an employer wanting to hire you. And the reason why is because they don't want to take the possibility of any potential liability down the road if they hire an individual whom has outstanding tickets or has a history of traffic tickets if the employee is to ever have gotten involved in any type of an accident, injured somebody, the other injured party can potentially sue the employer for what's called negligent and trust meant by hiring that employee knowing when they knew or should have known that they had a potential dangerous driving record. So it's definitely going to hurt your chances from getting any type of employment. Okay, that's good information. Let me ask you another question because in the past I used to get traffic tickets and I would just take a defensive driving class. Well, what's the benefit of hiring a turn if I can just go take a defensive driving class? Well, the benefit for hiring an attorney of course is that I have a very good track record for getting tickets dismissed. And there's a very good chance that we can get that dismissed because even if you take the defense of driving course, you are still going to have to pay a court cost. Which court costs are approximately they have gone up as of late and you're looking at approximately close to a $150 just in court cost. Then you have to take the driving class and most courts require you to do a Texas certified approved driving course. So you're looking at spending more money on taking the class, which is usually 6 to 8 hour class that you will have to endure, especially if you're busy. That's definitely takes time out of your day. So hiring a lawyer such as myself, we can potentially avoid from you have to take defensive driving..

"Tickets and traffic ticket law here in El Paso, Texas. Robert how are you doing today? Good, thank you, David. Appreciate you having me. Yeah, no problem. It's a pleasure. Well, basically we want our audience to know is just kind of like what a traffic ticket lawyer does. So maybe you can kind of explain the ins and outs of that. And maybe if you let's say I came to him like, hey man, I got a traffic ticket. Can you help me? What would you say to me? Well, first I would say absolutely, I can help you. And I'm glad that you contacted me. It's important that if you get a traffic citation that you try to address have it addressed immediately, there are certain time limits that you have to appear to court and you certainly don't want to miss those time limits and risk having a warrant issued for your arrest. So it's important that you either deal with it yourself or I recommend you contact an attorney who has experience in dealing with traffic tickets. And the benefit for hiring an attorney such as myself is that we go through and handle your case from the beginning to the end. So that you don't have to worry about going to court. If you contact my office, we'll take down your information. We'll look to see if, in fact, we can pull that up on the online system, or if not, we will contact the court to get more information. And we'll file an entry of appearance. And what that means is that we're going to be pleading not guilty to your citation. And we're going to also be requesting any and all documents that are in possession of the state, including your copy of your actual citation that you receive from the officer. As well as the criminal complaint, which is a charging instrument that they use to formally charge you in a court. Now it is a class C misdemeanor, however, it's still a criminal offense. And so it's very important that you deal with these because you don't want it affecting your record. And there's a lot of problems that can happen. If you don't deal with a traffic ticket. Yeah, that's good information to know. So, you know, a lot of people will ask me like, if they get a traffic ticket, can they just kind of just put it in their glove box and ignore it? I can imagine that's just a bad idea. Can you explain what would happen if somebody just ignored traffic citation that they got pulled over? Well, yeah, it's a very bad idea because what will happen is normally you have ten days to 20 days, depending on which court where you have to go to court and they will ask you to how do you plead if you want to sign a plea form?.

"Not the paper ballots but balloting but just going to give you the public cast what records which are the digital patterns that the voting system finds can all be given to the public and that should happen the certifications so that campaigns can't look themselves and see. Hey you know we think. This interpretation srt online or to correct that one. Campus board can do that before they certify the election. then we'll have basically crowd sourced auditing taking place and that's what we'd like to see so then official audit taking place with paper in the county as required risk limiting audit minimum amount of paper. But enough to be sure that heavy correct and then had citizens be able to add to that and say hey we found these discrepancies so instead of sending the ballad images to clear ballot. We can just put them online and let people like me. Look for the problem. Once and people like ray. Lutts in san diego california. Who has a thing called audit engine. He can take dominion valid images and create a tabulation and castle records and compare them to what the dominion original was so we have real opportunities for building confidence based on evidence evidence based election and that colorado s could be the first state to get there. And we're we're looking like we're on the way right now. So that's where i think. That's what's behind a real gold standard. But we don't have it yet. We do not have that yet. We have definitely got obstruction of access to election records in colorado. And we have that depends on the county but we have so many different approaches to hiding the information being worried about it. And then we've got the post trump effect where we're clamping down. And that's what's happening at the secretary of state's office and at the legislature with recent cleanup bill. That actually eliminated the challenge opportunity for citizens to challenge eligibility based on signature. Where signature is the only way we can detect eligibility problems right now all the way to decisions based on a signature verification that takes place and that's another topic but that's where we need an eligibility audit to take place and the clerks association has started to talk about it. Well i think like you said we are not necessarily gold standard. We may be that silver standard right and hopefully we can get to that evidence based area where you that's where the gold standard really would be. That's where the gold lies. Yes when the voters any skeptic can get access to the evidence and say yup. I can see why that's the outcome. That's what we want. Get to we used to have more steps to do. We're working on that. So thank you again for being here this time. Thank you for listening again. We know this is kind of a difficult subject in some people are like. Why are you even interested. But it is very important for the league of women voters to educate you on these issues and this is again one of those just from an informative perspective why we're doing that third audit.
