WR Corey Davis came to Jets with belief Darnold 'is the guy'

"Okay. So saw this quote really interesting. Corey davis being the titans. Free agent wide receiver of course goes to the jets. He said yesterday that he signed with the jets with the understanding. That sam darnold is gonna their team starting quarterback and twenty twenty one. Obviously i'm coming in with the understanding. That sam's the guy he said that doesn't scare me away at all. I've seen sam do great things. And i have all the belief in him thoughts that surprise. You doesn't really surprise me at all. I would think that i would think new coach. You come in. You got number two pick. Let's just roll the dice with one of these new but of course they're going to say. Hey the plan is for sam to be the guy right. Things could change. Yeah we could end up drafting somebody but we're not going to trade him. That's probably what he was told. Like sam's gonna be the guy down the road that could change. But i would anticipate that and if you're you know you're corey davis and if you're the vast majority of these free agents there's very few guys listen you have a limited shelf life in the nfl. You're going to the team. That's going to pay you the most money and you think that if corey davis was told that sam darnold not going to be the guy he he wouldn't have gone to the jets if they're offering the money. No no no.

How Rich Eisen 'Met the Moment' in His First SportsCenter Broadcast

"My first sportscenter was in the middle of march of nineteen ninety-six. It was a saturday. Seven o'clock eastern sportscenter which they don't have that time slot anymore but at any rate it was right there early evening on a saturday during march madness. I think it was the first weekend. I had to have been the round of thirty. Two of the nineteen ninety-six march madness tournament. Larry beal was the other anchor. And i remember be nervous very nervous and i try to stay loose just like matthew dry. St louis need to stay loose. And i tried to prepare for it but the problem was is the games that i would be doing. The highlights of on this show were all happening. They're all happening all going down. I mean it's march madness. You know that you know games are nonstop the tipping off fifteen minutes field like and it feels like whenever you're watching it. That's what makes it so great. And i remember thinking to myself. How am i going to prepare for this. How can i stay loose. What am i going to do. And it was time to go down to the studio for my first ever sportscenter. And i had about twelve games of highlights in the show and add only the paperwork they give you a shot sheet to read off of in notes form knowing what shots are going to appear on the screen so you knew the information of who had the ball and what the score was and how much time is left on the clock and what have and so on and so forth so i had the paperwork and it only seen the highlight of one of the twelve that i had in the show. In other words. I would have to ad-lib eleven of the twelve highlights. I had in the show sight unseen like. Normally you would get this highlight. You'd look at it. you'd watch it. You'd go over it so you know what you might say when you say it on the aaron live tv and i remember thinking to myself walking down to the said i had two choices. That's i boil it down to two choices. Try to make it very easy for me to remain calm. And i remember thinking to myself to choices one was to suck it up and know that this was my dream moment and i had been betting on myself my entire life that i was waiting for this moment and it finally arrived albeit. Not what the attention to detail. That would have calmed my nerves or the preparation. That i wanted or ever envisioned. I would not have going down to the studio. That was choice. A choice b was to be down my leg. And i thought to myself. You know. that's choice it's Definitely not choice. Let's choose. And i don't know how the show went. I went well. I mean you know. I wasn't fired on the spot I was bouncing off the walls. But i just remember thinking to myself. I got two choices. One is to go with the flow. Go at the moment. Believe in yourself know that this moment that you've been waiting for your entire life has arrived and meet it. Meet the moment and the other choices to panic which might feel good at the time but never would work out in a million years.

Matthew Mcconaughey on 'Leaning into the Doubt'

"Man. I've calibrated recalibrated thousands of times. I've had grand plans. That i thought would lead pipe cinch. There ain't no way this go wrong. And either imploded or the world exploded and for me and i sat there going. Oh jeez i've also had written many headlines. I before i had any idea housing to get there and lived the story to and had successes that way. I've also had many times where. I just hardest part about me going into what i was going to do. Is just to tie and shoes. Get out the damn door. Jump off the cliff. Figure out a fly on the way down. Seems like that's sort of the art of life making plans and then knowing that change is gonna come anyway. The unknown in doubts of just knowing the answer. That's something that i think that we all have. We want to know the answer. Can you make tangible. Can you tell me what. I'm going to take this risk. Can you tell me. I wanna see my reward can okay. Now i see it clearly now know well reward. Don't really like that. Even if we have an idea of what they are. We're going into something. They aren't what we thought they were when we get there anyway so i think the doubt is in what is it. What is an accomplishment. Gonna be there's even unknowns when we're very secure about where we're going and that's not all the time so you can have more doubts if you're only seeking a result or less dashiell lean into the comfort of doubting going. Hey i'm not about the result. I'm going to enjoy the process of doing what i need to do. And how. I look up one day. Free speech and the struggle against misinformation ahead of 2020 election

"Last week, The New York Post published a potentially damaging story about Hunter Biden, son of the Democratic presidential nominee. Based on emails, The Post said, were provided by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and originally harvested from a laptop computer left in a Delaware repair shop. There were enough questions about the authenticity of the emails that most mainstream media declined to publish the story, but it's the kind of content that Khun spread like wildfire on Social media. In a remarkable move Twitter on Wednesday Band users from sharing links to the story because it said the emails may have been hacked and contained private information. It reversed course two days later after Republicans accused Twitter of censorship. But the episode illustrates a question our guest, Emily Bazelon, has been thinking about in an age when questionable, Perhaps even fabricated content can sweep through the digital world unchecked. Does our traditional commitment to unfettered free speech still serve democracy. And the cover story for this week's New York Times Magazine, Basil on surveys the impact that lies and conspiracy theories sometimes promoted by foreign actors can have on our political discourse. And she explores how other countries think differently about free speech and its relationship to a healthy democracy. Emily Bazelon is a graduate of the Yale Law School and a journalist. She's a staff writer for the New York Times Magazine and the Truman Capote fellow for Creative Writing at Yale Law School. She's also the author of two books. She joins us from her home in New Haven, Connecticut. Emily Bazelon welcome back to fresh air. Thanks so much for having me you open your piece with a story that began making the rounds some months back, among right wing voices on the Internet that there was a plan by the forces of Joe Biden to stage a coup to take over the government in connection with the November election. First of all, what was the basis of this claim? Great. So this is ahh concocted claim and the sort of colonel at the center of it was a project called the Transition Integrity Project, a group of about 100 academics and journalists and pollsters and former government officials and former campaign the staff staffers. They started meeting over the summer to kind of game out various scenarios for the November election, and so they were basically testing American democracy in the event that President Trump wins in the event that vice President Biden winds To see in various scenario is what could happen. And in the event, there's a contestant result in a long, nasty count. Yes, exactly especially in the event if there's a contestant result in litigation and other possibilities, and so in one of their several scenarios, Biden wins the popular vote but loses the Electoral College. And so in that hypothetical case they imagined the Democrats would get desperate. And they might consider encouraging California and the Pacific Northwest to threaten to secede in exchange for pressuring Republicans to expand the size of the Senate. So Rosa Brooks, who was one of the organizers of this project, She's a law professor at Georgetown. She published an essay where she mentioned this threat to succeed in one sentence in an essay in The Washington Post. On the next day, you see someone named Michael Anton's, a former national security adviser to President Trump. He has an article called The Coming CU Question. Mark and based on Rosa Brooks is characterization of what the transition integrity project was doing. He starts saying that Democrats are laying the groundwork for a revolution and then you see that article take off in extremist online communities. There is AH podcast maker named Dan Bongino, who's a big trump supporter. He makes videos about it. One of them has the tag. They are telling you what they are going to do exclamation point his videos pull in millions of views. Then you see the story. My great toe, a right wing website called Revolver News Revolver. News starts to spin up the idea that Norm Eisen, who participated in the transition Integrity project and is a longtime Democratic lawyer in Washington. That he's at the center of this supposed coup. And from there, Tucker Carlson feature someone talking about this concocted made up story on his show. And then you see it just go viral on social media and get picked up by lots of groups, including, like a county Republican organization in Oregon, So it is Perfect kind of story because it pulls in both traditional media in the form of Fox and also social media. And then you see President Trump get involved. He tweets in praise of Revolver news, and then he tweets quote the November 3rd election result may never be accurately determined, which is what some want. And that's a kind of typical dark, slightly vague, foreboding kind of warning from President Trump that further perpetuates this coup narrative. And then Trump later retreat. Someone talking about a coup with regard to Nancy Pelosi. So you see from this hypothetical project that was really meant to be a kind of academic exercise about the election. This whole sat of conspiracy theories on the right that get a lot of play in the media on social media, and then from the president

'The Writing On The Wall' Finds Poetry Behind Bars, Projects It Onto Buildings

"The wall takes the words of incarcerated people beyond prison and jail walls. The project began small but gained new visibility through projections of the writer's words on the sides of buildings in the U. S and Mexico. John Kayla's reports that it is a collaboration between a conceptual artist, a college professor and those whose words they want to share. Devon Simmons served 15 years in New York prisons lens hanging off the tree limbs. Skeletons of these two range in strange fruits with strong braided brownstone. Intrigued by envy, he reads from a poem by Carl Burn hard that is part of the writing on the Wall Project. Simmons graduated from the prison to college Pipeline program, which included a seminar with artist Hank Willis Thomas, one of the co founders of the writing on the Wall. Speaking via Skype, Thomas says working with his incarcerated students sparked the idea of sharing their creative output with those on the outside is a eureka moment. Look at all the wisdom look at all the heart that is imprisoned in our society. There was a huge hypocrisy or irony that I thought we could and should be focusing on There was so much poetry and there just so much beauty drawings, thoughts so much reflection of humanity. That's Bozz Dries ing, the other co founder of the writing on the wall. She also founded the Incarceration Nations Network, a coalition of prison reformers, and she teaches English at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Technically, I was teaching English classes. But really, I was teaching criminal justice through the lens of humanities. And that to me is what the writing on the wall is. The idea for the project came winds rising. There show Thomas some of the writing she's been given by incarcerated people. Two enlisted architects to design mobile installation move that resembled a prison cell with the words of the incarcerated on the walls, floor and ceiling. The idea was to take the booth two cities around the U. S and Canada. But after it's New York debut, the tour was cancelled by the pandemic in prison by covert Bye, Mr Roland Davis. We were taken over by a virus, more cities in any terrorist attack. As the days and weeks turn into months, Americans locked themselves into their homes and fear of what was to come. We? We had to lock inside our cages because it was the safest place for us to be. With the tour cancelled. The organizer's got the idea of projecting those words on public buildings, often ones that are part of the criminal justice system. They enlisted a company called Chemistry Creative to come up with a projection system. The last installation was at Brooklyn Public Library Standing outside chemistry. Creative producer Sidney McDonald describes the first projection. Nobody was out on the streets. There was still very strict fans on everything being closed, and nobody actually really sawed in really life besides the people who were there, but the projections on but since then the writing on the wall has been Seen in Detroit, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Washington, DC Columbus, Ohio, in Mexico City again or just Hank Willis Thomas. There is nothing that Eisen artists or anyone could really do or say that was more extraordinary. Them things that these artists were doing as you say. I talk about those artists, and some of them had not thought about themselves artists, but it was clear that they were. One of those artists is divine Simmons, who is now working as a paid curator and tour guide for the project. If you take the time to actually read some of the material is in the installation. You recognize that people

Titans playing their next game after no new COVID-19 cases for two days

"Where things stand on on the titans playing their next game and also the investigation as to why. It. the titans players decided to hold their own practices after being told to go home Tom. Well, that's what the NFL in the NFL. PA. have been looking into and they. reviewed surveillance video they have conducted interviews I can tell you that with people in the organization as well as with players trying to get to the bottom of you know, how did those unauthorized offside workouts and I'm told there are multiple involving multiple physician groups. How did those come together they've also looked into whether or not masks were being weren't consistently They've looked into whether tracking devices were worn consistently and if violations. are found in certainly seems like at least on the workout front than you would expect, there's going to be disciplined on potentially harsh discipline i. mean there's only been truly one outbreak. The Patriots have had three cases over the past week here but the titans have had twenty three over two plus weeks, and the fact you still had people in the past couple of days in terms of players testing positive lends credence to the idea that. There was continued community spread after the facility closed because the players continue to get together on their own having said all that in terms of their ability to play this game on Tuesday I am told there is a possibility that the titans facility for the first time since September twenty-ninth could reopen as soon as tomorrow afternoon, they could be back to work do a walk through maybe tomorrow do a practice on Sunday you're ready to. Play on Tuesday, and even if they have an additional positive tests it was emphasized to me today. The NFL is looking at the entirety of this situation I mean Roger Goodell playing Md. here. I'm talking about Dr Al and Sills, they have a committee of epidemiologists to look at this as well as the committee of GM's and coaches and players who are deciding some of the competitive aspects of this. There were a through the contact tracing. A number of titans players that had identified as high risk close contacts with some of the recently infected individuals. So there is a likelihood if not an expectation that you will continue to have additional positive tests in the coming days prior to that game on Tuesday and the same thing with the Patriots there were multiple on told patriots players who been identified as close high risk contacts with the phone more. So again, a likelihood if not. An. Expectation could have additional positive test, but the League is not do. There's no hard rule that if you have a test on this amount before kickoff, we have to cancel every situation is being taken on a case by case basis and they're doing what they can and trusting the protocols to try to make these Games happen on Monday and Tuesday

What's going on? 'cause after two straight days of the titans being covered. Negative on mass two straight days of no positive tests to more popped positive today. Leading the titans next game against the. Bills, by the way. In heavy doubt. Tom Pella Sarah, my colleague from NFL Media Group has been all over this. tweeting out earlier, today that the NFL and the players association are were been more looking into whether the titans working out together off site while the facility was closed. Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings close facilities

"News that I wanNA start with right now. Is the story that's breaking out of Tennessee and hoping that there's not an outbreak of covert amongst the Tennessee Titans and their organization three titans players in five personnel tested positive for coronavirus for covert nineteen their tests came back this morning. We all know on Sunday they played against the Minnesota Vikings so. It is possible. It appears maybe even likely that vectors cross between two NFL teams with players potentially. Being. A symptomatic out on the field and having Kovac nineteen. Now then. It's downright frightening it does appear that the NFL has their first moment similar to what Major League Baseball had when the marlins tested positive. In multiple ways. And so we take it one at a time. One day at a time one test at a time, and so the titans ran the tests back. And those who tested positive return positive that does not appear that it is a false positive. So unfortunately that is. The story out of Tennessee. The good news. Let's talk about some good news the Minnesota Vikings according to reports. No positive tests as of now. And the good news is the NFL. Is using significant technology to trace and track. They have already determined that there are forty eight people who had close contact with the eight individuals who tested positive. That's a large number. But the fact that they have a number and they know the number and they can call these forty-eight people and say you've got to quarantine right now. That is good news.

But woman have always always been taught that we had the fight hard so hard we had to put in those countless hours. We have the practice harder than a white girl. We had to work so much harder. And why is that? It's because America has normalized normalized it. We've normalized little black girls being in these streets finding for their lives. But we haven't normalized black girls being doctors. Black girls being principles like girl be a teacher's why black women and especially protecting black trans women, was a major topic of discussion at the rally. "And he's a great during training camp really has So he looks he looks healthy to me he he's looked really good running the football for US catching the football for us and in practice and You know I'm excited about about what he could bring. Because like you said, I mean his production you know throughout his career has been. Incredible and so if we can keep them healthy and and and keep them feeling good I don't see any reason he can't be explosive as as he's ever been. Matt, Ryan here on the rich Eisen show is this the toughest of NFC, south you've seen in your Baker's dozen years now. Yeah, it didn't get any easier this. Eventful way of saying Hey Tom Brady junior division Basically what I try I try to. Yeah it's it's it's it's GonNa be tough. There's no question about it. I'm going into here thirteen and I'm like I'm one of the young guys in the division rights. Cool you're right. You're right. These are guys I was watching you know in high school and college so It's it's. It's. It's kind of funny that it shaken out that way but it's GonNa be tough. There's no question about it but you know I, feel good I good about team. I think. You know we're probably flying under the radar a little bit and That's okay. I feel like You know we played some good football in the second half of the season we had. you know some good wins on the road, which is great experience for some of the young guys in our organization. hoping that translates into fast start. The successful season for did you just play the nobody believes in his car a little bit very quietly did you just play that card and that conversation? What he believes in. You, know we've. been getting as much attention as some of the other teams in the division. That's all well I. Guess Okay. I guess I might have twisted a little bit right there but your words that's true. Okay. What you mentioned Breeze Brady obviously in the way you guys started last year. That might be why people are not looking at you more. But the way you guys finished last year I mean that was pretty damn impressive. How does that work from one season to another because that was significant with your coaches job flat out on the line and the teams that you beat at the end including the ultimate NFC champion and damn near almost. Super Bowl champion I mean how does that work from one year to the next Matt Yeah? You Know I. I. Think. I mean last year was It was the strangest season as I've been part of to have the first half of the season go the way did and then the second half of the season to play as well as we did, you know I just. Never really been a part of something like that and So so that part was unique. I think I think we were playing some young guys like on our offense align. We had guys like Caleb mcgarry, and Chris. Lindstrom, you know playing a bunch I in the second half of the season. Chris hurt in the first game and then didn't play until the last four games a year and I think you know I think for young guys you know it's important to to learn how to win in this to to learn how to go on the road to learn what it takes how disciplined you have to be. how how how will you have to execute I? Think those are things that carry on the experience of of what it takes in order to be successful. I'm not sure necessarily the momentum right that that that doesn't carry over put the lessons learnt do and and that's what you know I'm hoping you know I mentioned those guys but we have we have young players across the board at wide receiver I Calvin Really Russell Gauge who played a big part of our second half of the season all those guys were. Learning experience for them and and it should be a confidence booster at the you know their routine and their scheduling and their mindset was right the second half of the season in to continue to do that. As we move forward and in terms of just the way that you finish up this year and I don't know if this was related to make sure that if there was anything that needed to be pushed back at least, the end of the season would be played. You do face The saints and the box. Both Times, you face them all after your by week eleven thirteen, the saints, and then week fifteen and seventeen is Tampa with the chiefs in between. I guess you're going to have to bring last year's finish to this year to with the chargers raiders in the mix matt questioned. Serious. First stop is too. So it's it's You know the good part of of Division Games is is it gives you a chance to you know to do what you need to be in division at the time of the year and hopefully you know. The good teams? Auburn. On have been the ones that get better as the year goes and start peaking at the right time late in the year and hopefully that's the case for us because we're gonNA, need it. We're playing football teams at that part of the schedule Let's have a matt. Ryan before we send him on into his Atlanta Day Chris asking the poll question right here on the rich Eisen show. It's Kanye Reeves Birthday. So Chris. Ask Kiana. Reeves movie. Okay. Here's we got point break speed John Wick, or the Matrix. I think the Matrix what what is what is the role San? Too, okay. Okay. So we're almost six thousand votes, the Matrix, the Matrix at thirty three point seven John Wicks at thirty, three, point five, Slough. All right I'm in the majority then I gotTa admit to you. I've never seen point break. School. Working. With coalpit this last six months what are you do and? I've been doing this show but I guess you know. What have you seen in the in your quarantine? What have you been doing? What have you saw my gosh? We've kind of crushed net flex. It was tough I'm a big sports fan. Okay and so you know. And my wife is as well. So artifical. TV watching is is sports and so when everything shut down, it was like Oh man do we do and so we definitely we crushed a lot of Netflix You know which was good. I. We're I'm watching the series debt to me right now. Okay. which I'm not sure guys seem but it's twisted. Dark and funny. So so that's pretty good right now, but we've kind of been hammering out all kinds of flex. So what's your favorite sports movie man? Oh Man I've kind of gone down a rabbit hole, a couple of times watching some of your youtube stuff when you have the actors on, you're going through You know some of their gone all of the talk about a few good men shutting down that rabbit hole was talking about the other actors quite a bit. Sports the. Man. Suggestion for you matt. Scott.

"Of our favorite guests throughout the year and he's entering his thirteenth season. Football League the head of the quarterback of the Falcons and one time MVP of this Great League of Ours Matt Ryan Back on the show. How are you matt? I'm doing great rich thanks for having me. I always appreciate you coming on. This is just a weird world that we're living in right now what is it been like for you getting ready for this season preseason games protocols left right up and down young kids at Home Matt. What is it's been like for you. You know what it's. It's been different for sure I. Mean I think everybody would say that the last six months have been a whirlwind and definitely you know have taken some adjusting to you. Can't go in without preseason games for sure is the biggest change I mean it's been. you know this is year thirteen for me. So it's been thirteen plus years since I've gone into a season without. Knocking some of the rest off with with these preseason games. So that part of a difficult you know I gotta give I gotTa give the NFL credit I. GotTa Give Our Organization credit though they've done. They've been a really good job of You know taking care of the players making sure everybody's safe. In trying to do the best, they can't given the circumstances. So I'm excited we've made it to this point where about a week and a half out and and you know everything is is looking like go. So I'm excited about that me to Matt you know I mean obviously nobody has the answers nobody. You can only figure out what's best and try and get through it but here you are you're with in the Falcons are getting set for your your opener in just a couple of Sundays from now against Seattle and it looks like it's going to happen what what are you think I'll ask you the question I'm asking a veterans in young players. Alike, when they've been kind enough to call into the show, the the chances do you like the chances of getting through seventeen weeks with no delays and obviously nobody has the answer but based on everything that you know and the conversations that you've had with your teammates and your teammates had with you or you might have had with other players around the league about. When you're not at work do you think you're going to get through seventeen weeks uninterrupted this season? I certainly hope so I think I think it's been a positive that you know were I guess I've been testing every day since July twenty third and you know our numbers have stayed low and so. I think that part of it is you know definitely. One one that would lead you to be optimistic. I think as we begin to travel and and there's different gains obviously there's external factors that better there that currently aren't there but. I am optimistic. You know I guess you know by nature on that way but I think guys have. you know are making a sacrifice to to be safe as possible when you're outside the building and being as responsible as they can be so from what I've seen so far you know I I really have no reason to not be optimistic unless you know things change and we don't know if that's going to be the case but right now as I sit here I feel really good about it. Matt Ryan here on the rich. Eisen show. Todd Gurley looked up close and personal to you. Impressive you know? I got to spend some time with him in the offseason. We've put a little working on the field and I was just blown away by how professionally is how smart is you know his his ability to recall information you know really quickly but the most impressed I've been was we had a scrimmage at a Mercedes Benz Stadium last week and it was first time kind of lights went on. and and it was you know kind of a little bit more of an atmosphere he's got gear. That, he can kick into that was impressive to see and not all guys have that some guys have the ability to to just take it to another level. When you know the lights come on and it's time to live and he certainly did that last week which impressed me and You know I'm excited about it. I think he's going to be really. Good. Fit for for what we do offensively and a nice piece to to scoring points. Now, obviously, we we all know what what Todd Gurley can do and two years ago from to follow up by asking well, what can he do in your fab like how how does he fit in your offense? It would have been a silly question two years ago but. I can't get an answer couldn't get an answer from anyone from the rams or anybody about why we sometimes saw on a stationary bike or why the twenty five touch guy showed up every other three weeks He looks healthy to you. He looks like Todd Gurley. To you met. Yeah he does. You know I can't speak for for you know any other stuff that you know what's going on before here I can speak for the last probably three months that that I've been able to to kind of get to see him on the field. And and he has looked like he is progressed and continue to get better.

"Plus Dr Joyce Process There's always you know you can go one step further. You know we wanted to try stuff and that that was that gag and it works it. It just worked and I got to meet Mellon. And all these guys and I think Dick. Enberg was honest. And Tim Cover. That's right and matter with he in basketball. Well, yeah. They'll bleed together but I just see all those announcers and then of course, calling the big moment. Where Reggie Jackson Must Kill the Queen That is truly one of the most fascinating moments in the history of cinema I will say involving, Mr. October you know that was great and then yeah, and Reggie was Reggie was great and and I later used him in basketball so. it was just You know it was it was really great script a written by a Jerry and Jim, and I and. And Pat Proft well. Again. I have to excuse me I am Fan blowing out here here because Enrico Palazzo played by lieutenant frank driven played by. Leslie Nielsen undercover to try and foil the plot of the killing of the Queen on behalf Ricardo Montalban I might add the the the scene, the montage of baseball and sending up baseball was spectacular and seeing any umpire basically do anything other than call a ball and strike normally I think of the break dancing and the moonwalking Enrico Palazzo was fantastic David where did that one time? It was just. It was marvelous idea to do. to baseball game and it was just I mean once we hit on that and I in every movie, we figured out what was the love story between the boy and the girl in any movie, and then what is the third act that final third act, and this was just the baseball game gave us such a great opportunity to do gags. It's just I mean we could've done more limited by time but I'm just so happy that it worked out so well, and then of course, you know you know I love La being part of that whole montage and that's what the dodgers play after every win these days in the stadium where everything obviously was foiled by. They have did that and they? Dodgers being they were much stricter in those days as you know. They wouldn't let us say that it was a dodge. That's why we have to use the angels, the angels and the Mariners I mean they just didn't want any part of 'cause it may tarnish their image in those. Beers I mean not you know so. Maybe they saw George. George Kennedy stick all that food down his gullet during that montage. David, and they didn't want associated with their stadium that it clearly was. I. Now, that I think of it, you know we wanted to use Vin scully as he was our favorite. Anybody and the dodgers wouldn't let us do that. So van would have been next Dr.

AJ could bat around I'll just hop in a little bit to the days were you know directing traffic a little bit here and again we're on the radio as well as well as well as YouTube dot com slash rich Eisen show what do you think of Tom Brady Tampa Bay buccaneer Patrick we think of that idea you know what rich I've been watching news since I was like four or five years old is and I want to cover the NFL I know this is always a couple different ways to look at things in perspective and I think the way to look at this particular movie it's not the sexiest pics I don't think Tampa Bay is the sexiest but nobody thought Tampa Tommy was going to be the movement and nobody thought a city like Tampa Bay would be the one that was one of the greatest of all time for his first time in free agency in twenty years but if you start looking at the pieces of the puzzle down there the pictures are becoming a lot more clear because Bruce Arians is not only handing over Washington's role in he's in G. surrounded by a bunch of old soldiers who've been there done that with everything please god when you got Mike Evans everybody San Antonio brown is tied at the hip with Tom Brady you bring him down to dampen I thought both you from someone from thirty two south five last year all the side you're talking about a real contender now I think the patriots will be a good football team because Belichick won't allow them to completely soft but I think they're much more in a rebuilding phase in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or a potential winning now and that's why you bring in the aftermath Paul Brady so if you're not but that's how I feel what does the rich have a question for you is seems like it was between Tampa Bay and the LA Chargers for Tom Brady that's what seemed like a good two likely candidates why do you think he chose aside from that the massive weapons he has an office in potentially bring in I mean if I if I had a ball park it other than the geographic soundness of being on the east coast based on his family situation I think the big answer would be you know you look at that Los Angeles and if they are geographically on sound that's number one but the number two with all due respect and we say that around here fully well aware that what's about to come next is somewhat disrespectful but we feel that we have immunized ourselves to sounding disrespectful Bruce Arians is the difference I mean the VA is one of the best humans I've ever come across Anthony lane is a great human as well but Bruce Arians says has all that experience in in talking to quarterbacks and has all that experience with Tom Moore who Brady knows from Peyton manning is such a resource and then you plug Evans and god went into it the tack on no state tax you got yourself a winter I think rich I I think your honor for the record that statement that no state taxes going to go a long way to go to session between Florida and California but I think when Peyton install on Brady another friendship is really starts to blossom on Peyton place is they were confident Jim.

Okay and you can give it the flourish you want. You can do whatever you want with it so the the construct is to hear me. Say the word with my own interpretation to to it. I'm making too much of this. I one hundred percent. I was about to be rich. What are we doing? My Name's rich Eisen here is how I say. Bought plot holes. I mean get better than that house the I think that's good I did I. Did I say that with the proper amount of a long zeal. Can I get definition on the on the little bit of you know. I said it with a little bit of flavor. Yeah I felt I felt there was a Gravitas to it. I really do. I have gravitas coming out of my body actually odd like something that is rude would get medical help. You aren't enough orifices. For from which I do not excrete gravitas. You do have a way of speaking gang. That is very full of gravitate has a what would you say it has like a purposeful. Okay part part two because we know each other personally we are friends quote unquote the end of this. What what we're going to be doing? We'll be closer. Well we you know me so you know picture you've walked into. I'm fully aware okay. Great so you've come on your show come here in peace. Well that's that's GonNa be pretty soon so you you have been on my show. I'm sorry amazing amount of times that I I hear from people about the show. The one show that I did the one you've seen in the show. Although my name was used used used in vain for the rest of the episode the number of people the number of times that I have people saying to me fucking rich is I think I told you when I was leaving The sweet sixteen game. Yeah it was held here in Anaheim. California go to University of Michigan where I went to university my alma mater was playing at the sweet sixteen game down Anaheim and it was literally the worst performance events I've ever seen out of my Alma Mater. I mean the worst ever at like literally they could not score a point and now when I say that that does sound like some form of exaggeration truly could not make a basket watching paint dry excruciating. Terrible terrible to the point where Ching paint dry is boring but not painful true so I would say worse. The setup is there for this reason that it was like I said halfway through. It was one of those things where you're lamenting the traffic home. And fifteen minutes later you just given to the moment comment. Just I'm Outta here right so pondering everything my existence. And as I'm leaving somebody points goes fucking rich rich Eisen where's your goldfish unquote. And it kind of got me out of my Rut. You know what I mean like it. got me out of feeling. Sorry for myself and I've never been cursed at before in a manner that changes my mood from dark to light like it was a total title reversal of the usual feelings. I have when I do get curse. Somebody's like fucking rich. Yeah normally it goes the other direction the level of happiness that brings me grays. I love probably more than what it normally be. Sure it makes me. There's nothing happier than you were out in your life. Just someone screamed fucking rich Eisen at you just nearly seeing my face that brought you joy it did it did. It makes me while I couldn't go any lower if that's that's good. I mean different journal. No no I just really do want to put it all in full perspective. Well you could it. Just give me this perspective. Thank you for again putting my name into the universe in that banner. Your Oiseaux Fiftieth. Thank you is really all. You're welcome it so we are friends now each other And I've done your show and this is I mean we're not like our kids go to school together so we're in world by the way my daughter interested in getting your take on this. My daughter was in a musical theater camp okay and she had her performance last Friday and in the middle of one of the shows I got in a fight with one of the DADS in the audience. This is this. Is this going to appear on season. Three I don't know we'll see I started writing it soon. I probably shouldn't talk about this. Because is it might end up as something. I don't get in a lot of fights. I'm not a like a confrontational person. Might my character is much more confrontation. We're in the show okay. It's seven thirty at night. This is their second show. It's eight to ten year olds. They have been practicing for two weeks working their hardest. Is this a famous production. Touching is legally blonde junior and it's eight to ten year olds. A lot of the words have been changed. Protect the to protect the innocent. And there's a baby behind us like a eighteen month old baby crying talking. The MOM is like sh every week three minutes. The people can hear it on stage. Go tell a small theater this is not some fancy whatever and everyone's turning around and she wasn't taking the baby out and and I could see like kids sort of getting distracted and whatever and so I just was like excuse me. Do you want to take the baby. Ooh and she was like Oh yeah Asari and the husband goes no. I don't we don't have to do that. Turnaround and I am not a confrontational person. But when somebody somebody like when I snap I was like excuse me and this is meanwhile in between scenes like Elwood's just found out she got into Harvard Law School. She's about vowed to show up whatever and he goes. Turn on and I'm like no I'm not gonNA turn around and I was like you. Don't bring your distracting. Your husband has been here too. He was there but he wasn't sitting next to me so he didn't know any of this happened. We were not Sweden get seats next week or so and he and there's a woman next to me that was like looking at me like back. Oh Shit like this guy and I just said to my. That's very rude and I was like you. Get your child's making noise and whatever it he goes don't worry about it turned around and I literally just go. These kids have worked so hard and this is on you and I hope you feel great about about it and then I turned back around and we watched the show baby cried our time or were you able to concentrate. I couldn't I would be so white-hot between the temples fuming I was formulating. What was going to happen during the next scene break I was formulating? What was going to happen after the show and the baby's ABC's started talking again by the way they were trying to give it a lollipop? I was like what are we doing. Worm hole and so she though I knew could tell she felt terrible second in time that so the next time the baby made any noise she'd got up and left and I noticed that she did and I was fuming. And you could tell that everyone around this guy was giving him dirty. Deluxe could have other people had heard what had happened because they're also normal members of society. Right through I was I was this is what I wanted to say it to him at the end so I let it out because I feel like you're still holding onto something because they never got to actually confront him. Do although I did win my my the fantasy comebacks are super lame. Just know that my thing was at the end of the show lights. We're GONNA come up. I was GONNA turn around and say your wife must be so proud you need to work. Yeah Yeah Yeah. I was like in in that. He's going to understand what happened. When the lights came up the lights came up I turned around? He averted his eyes. And because this was this was within. She ended up missing the whole show so a mom misses the whole show. Who you know mom was the one who is unsure rehearsing with the kid all? We're in all of this. He sits there watching the whole show. Doesn't go check on her. It doesn't go try to change places like halfway through like hey. Why don't you pop in now? Roy Sicher the whole time so i. That's what I was GONNA say. I was going to say to him. Oh I hope your wife got to enjoy the show and I didn't get to do any bet. None of them are great call. None of them are Greg. Bax Agree I was trying to go for a subtle pointed. Did you understand the under the subtext of what. I'm getting all your I. I've had a similar experience. Yes one that I think is a little bit more your death defying devine then took place small row. She's me mine. took place on on a plane. Okay okay so We're flying back and I've told this story on a podcast. My my my show is born out of pocket. I told this years ago. Great so I have not told it in a very long perfect. I imagine listeners of this but these are virgin years. Yeah I don't in your honor vendors crossing over here then diagram by the way I respect you even more the fact that you know ven diagram Grandma have used it and have caused people to say fucking rich Eisen. I'd never thought you could go up any higher. Oh my God my book. It's now later I might go plunging down go. So we're flying back from the east coast to the West houses several years ago. My my oldest Zan who goes to school with your daughter must have been like four. Okay Okay and our youngest coupe was a baby okay. Two who years old. We are on air an air an air airline airline that rhymes with Schmidt Schmidt blue. Okay could have been Schmidt I didn't no it was it was so where in Rhode coup where inroad to if I wrote a real row two and Susie my wife is attempting to put Cooper the baby to sleep okay. 'cause it's like our one of like six hours long flight lots going on two rows behind US woman with a baby of a similar age. Can't get her kid to stop screaming and yelling yelling crying. She gets up and starts to walk up and down the aisle right and parks herself in the Galley. That is directly glee in front of row. Two okay baby screaming and yelling and I get the look from Suzy. which every male in the world old knows is internationally known as fixed this shit? I'm dealing with.

"The rich eisen show how you doing j great rich how're you what do you think the story last night was well i mean the story going in where the big guys and how many there were at the top of the draft but i think after watching it last night you know their budget good players in it i wish i could say who i think we're going to be the the best you have beliefs but you know i thought at the end of the end of the night i was really interested in the guards and and this is a three point shooting spread floor game and the longer the drought more the more i was thinking you know look don rich made a pretty good case to go number one overall in today's game and and same thing with i don't i don't say number one but like trae young and colin sex of shakeel jus alexander you know some of those guys that are there guards made a bigger impacts than than the big guys even though the big guys can they can all run they're all mobile they can all step away they're not the the old school sort of back to the basket anchor low post guys but but i still think the guards are gonna wind up have pretty big impacts now it's so difficult obviously say for instance two years ago of you know walking off the nfl draft set have hey who's gonna start week one nobody would have said carson wentz nobody in the same way last year who's gonna be the best yulia donovan mitchell is going to be the best what do you think about fits though who do you think was draft in like you know what the system they run in the players that they have around him this kid has a chance to really have great rookie campaign jay i didn't see anybody that stood out that way rich as far as because i i think you're right like i wouldn't have said last year went down of mitchell was taken thirteenth well there's a guy who's gonna start and he'll be he'll be rookie of the year candidate i just didn't view him that way i didn't think he'd be able to shoot it that well all year long and and take over but i will tell you this i mean i i went to college with what's not a routine base college we've been friends for thirty years and and after the draft last year i got a text from him say what what do you think of mitchell and axa i think he's really good i think you guys got a good player and if i remember right he takes us back something to the effect of we think he can be like russell westbrook and i was like what really like why didn't you tell me that that would have been to know before the draft you know but i know why why they didn't because they didn't want to let out how much they liked but no they're right and and there are there may be gyms in this draft that that their college sort of college performances been show 'cause no no way donovan mitchell college performance show he was gonna make that kind of jump and then other guys like that's one of the things that's kinda makes me laugh like you and i are both a lot older than when we first met but when you mentioned i was doing i've been doing sixteen years the draft sixteen years and when i first started doing this man i was so secure in my conviction about a play i may have been wrong but i was like i.
