"Bongino on the big eighty nine wl yes the most informative three hours you'll have all day i'm jason ransay i'm filling in for dan today one positive and probably the only positive that came out of the covid lockdowns on schools is that a whole lot more parents started paying attention to what was was going on all of a sudden you've got your kid in the living room on the dining room table they're on their their laptop for what we were pretending was instruction and they were hearing propaganda and indoctrination issue coming from teachers and they got involved these parents they started showing up to school board meetings they they started creating groups like parents defending education and as they took dive into the curriculum they started to point out a lot of this is not what we expect when we send our kids to school we expect them to learn some basics we don't expect them to get indoctrination coming from Communist China which is what a new report claims is happening and I looked into this certainly I've found some schools that are using what's called the Confucius Classroom which is a program that's funded the to tune of about 17 million dollars from the Communist Chinese Party and according historically to this report 143 school districts in 34 states plus Washington DC use this now I've seen some of the in content schools here in Washington State parents of ending education says it's happening in Texas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Oregon and I had no clue what Confucius classrooms are I've never heard of that before I don't have kids but turns out that they are institutions local that are based within schools so they're on campus and they're meant to quote stimulate and support innovative teaching and learning of Chinese language and master Confucius classrooms adopt flexible teaching patterns and adapt to suit local conditions when teaching Chinese language and promoting culture and foreign primary and secondary schools teaching Chinese as a language don't care it's the part about the culture promoting culture that should raise a number of red flags out there do you want the Chinese Communist Party deciding how they define or how you would define promoting culture because I would argue most people don't up until the shutdowns do you think any group would have even existed to find out this was happening I imagine some of you have heard of this Confucius classrooms and you really didn't think anything of it because the context in which you learned about this maybe in the past was not around wasn't hyper focused on the indoctrination that's been going on in our schools and you probably looked at this and even on on paper that doesn't sound all that awful what I just read to you sounds boring but it doesn't sound all that awful but but now it takes on a slightly different meaning doesn't it just a little bit now does this mean at the end of the day that the content is objectionable by any reasonable standards no but it does tell you that the Chinese Communist the

Players free agents were getting in under the just inside the deadline their spring training on time we had justin. Turner finally signed re-signed with the dodgers. Bring talked a few weeks ago about how we had seen and heard nothing about what turner was gonna do. We didn't know who's gonna resign at the dodgers. The dodgers are kind of you know. We've got our contingency plan. Just in case he doesn't return but then you didn't see or hear about any interest from any other teams so i'm not super surprised that he went back to the dodgers I mean i guess we should kind of expected it. Because like i said there there didn't seem to be much interest from other teams but but good for him to year thirty four million dollar deal with the with the dodgers I believe we talked about how he's like three years old so this could be his last big deal. I think his next contract could be either a minor league deal or a or something in the neighborhood of a veteran's minimum. I'm not entirely sure but But yeah so. This is probably his last big deal. Especially with the dodgers guy. Paxton the big maple re-signed with the mariners After a short stint more than a cup of coffee with with the yankees he spent about a year and a half with the yankees and He resigned with the mariners one year. Eight and a half million dollars. I'm i'm excited. I'm happy about that. I like to paxton. He's not the ace. I don't feel like he's the ace that he was when he was in seattle before. But if he's a tour three man. I am absolutely okay with that. He's gonna be a great great piece of that pitching staff and a great mentor to that young pitching staff. The young pitchers. I talked about a lot. coming up with the mariners and i think i think he's going to be a good guy to teach those guys how to work like a big leaguer and a big leaguer so i'm excited about that that deal that's going to be good for seattle. We've got a lot a lot of guys coming through on minor. League deals who got matt harvey with the orioles.
