"One eight hundred seven sixty K. F. M. B. before went into the break we were talking about a real way to get rid of fruit tree if beetles other than take offense to that because my way is real and it's effective without without so any time out there yes without having to actually physically have you got anything and that's all I have to say we can go home now yeah I wanna see that one we were gonna Commons they get it's like a it's a beetle fig beagle dove brooch for teller mature it's kind of like that the check in but they don't check out it is a an oriental and Japanese beetle trap which we don't have big issue with especially the Japanese beetles but the rep showed me a video that he had taken at his house after filling it with old peaches of it was attracting the green fruit beetles and so I brought home a sample and we deployed at at the at Walter Anderson nursery in power away yesterday we'll see it's it's late I don't have many Beatles at my house they've most of are gone already yeah but mine are starting to come because I have a lot of things that are right and again so soon as the soft fruit the rest of the suffering vertically figs in my art will I have a lot of little track now at the nursery in Poway they're actually they're gathering in mass on our grapes and that little great section and that's where we've deployed the out the trap to see how it's going to work so we'll see it's interesting it's big it is a velcro bottom so once it fills up you don't have to throw the whole thing away you can open it up cleared out and start the whole process over again after taking your collected Beatles and feeding them to your chickens for your call retriever or golden retriever here which it whichever might work I have been enjoying right fix and I have not as I mentioned had the problem with the Beatles but we've spoken I think many times about how you have to be AT shirt fig tree at the right day figs right that's the truth and I was thinking about that yesterday as I was enjoying my tiger fake the first of my tiger fix beginning to ripen and I think tiger figs are different thank you they can be they have a wider range they have a wider range yeah they they hold on the tree longer before just going to blow after writing and that's a that's a horticultural turn the professional technical term I recognize they're a little bit tangy and they're they're good on the way in and they hold on the tree on the way out that's been your delight might yeah and I don't know if either of you have noticed that I don't have one my my missions are right right now in fact I have a couple in in the card eat with later on today so I love those I love this black mission fix I don't did you bring any information that's right that's why I love to the car with their I'll bring something to work for you later he he told us about him so it's just almost the same as bring him in in the evening and family tiger fixed you have over there for us I didn't I didn't bring any for anybody as you told us about them okay there on the tree bring them next week okay enough abroad next week wow tiger figs right now celestial figs right now corky figs right now Peters honey figs right now I've been writing at the nursery black mission at my place as all the veal left or violent the board go also writing I love fakes I I do too I really do not a figure well like I said the once or twice here I passive when I got off and he has a big lead on the right Pat well walking by them one's rifle only it and enjoy it but well there is no no since you brought is there they are nutrient dense and they are high in fiber which are very good for US you know that yeah well I figured since you were passing them you must unknown but we know in our newsletter this month's newsletter just coming out for September there's an article in on how to grow fig trees and it talks about some of the the name varieties and a little bit about the culture basically I mean you don't really do a whole lot I really need some water but short of that they want what that's nice about as they are one of the better drought tolerant trees in our area if you're looking for something that you can get some fruit from its still not spend a lot of money on water do you know what I would consider to the three best low water fruit trees hang on here I know for me I would say a fig tree and a pomegranate others go first to go in the right tuning right now and if you want to invest very little water and get a really nice harvest those are two great trees exactly the plant yeah I remember talking to Tom Spelman he said now you don't have to water but all I have not okay so what I don't I don't like the no water at all especially the part because if you don't get any water in the pot they actually die well first hand but David does as well he can invent yeah yeah I say can I say email the might my older pomegranate which is probably about thirty five years old I don't water it yeah it just gets water for everything else and it thrives if it's a really super hot summer over the years I might throw hose on in August once but I do not water that tree and it is meet just a ton of for it and they're of full size photos on drinking age no shrink okay all size all right I still like the water medication because I they seem to I've gotten larger fruit or I will my neighbor has when they don't water at all in the fruit doesn't ever fully in the full size I think though in fairness on that tree gets water from other things I just don't water that tree groups is a big massive shrub and it's gathering stuff throughout the yard right I do kind of agree okay I'll go with that with both of those trees both the figs and the pomegranates even though we talk about how little water they ultimately want it is good to give him regular water for the first couple years to the absolutely the root system established I had a big Garnsey white fig which we only get from from from Darling St the only place I've seen it's delicious Fagan we have a a black mission figured I need to remember to take the tag off of today and change to a Garnsey white because you can't tell they're they're no black things on it clearly not a black mission fig but it was stunted and it was just not growing well and I never really watered it much and I as it was getting worse and worse I watered it more and more it took off no hate fell over because they were go for zero read my stop to the yeah the haves like seven yeah root system was totally gone ask my Garnsey white they go first love fakes in my yard the only things that I have traditionally put in go for baskets have been my fig trees out of fear I hate the the thought I did it once putting a plan to go FOR basket first the first tree I planted at the house with me when we moved in I put a go for basket night bye went and bought the the hardware cloth and I took out the scissors and I cut it may put holes in my hands with sharp edges the wire and I formed it and I made a big enormous hole and I have got to water no I had a hundred feet of wire and I said never again yeah and I did the one tree which is doing fine but then I went and got my Maccabi gopher traps to start getting ready go first because I that was such a tedious process which I guess is why we sell the preformed because going to save you swing by Walt and there's what what what what could I have done differently we are used to save a little money to a day well actually no I used I used that hundred foot roll for one tree well Jeez and then I set it aside and then I ended up giving it to Pete okay so I guess I didn't really but later he gave me a a an electric pole chain sauce so I guess you know back and all that would back injures now it's wonderful anything that cuts in I don't know I'm not good with things that cut no I know he would and this was me not you and and I probably should but I will I wear gloves and long pants and I usually use shoes when I'm wearing one so I mean I mom would be happy with me if I guess maybe I I really have had very good good good success with that but I don't know what your favorite fig Georgie I I think I've shared before I like the black mission in the veil that they were gonna wait deal and well we know you don't like it so what about you eat pomegranates did forget to tell him if somebody opens up and takes the yeah the arrows out for you yeah you just go to the store I pop the thing open it's already done yeah no knowledge I seem to have Mike here yeah I do like them okay going to see a lot of work I guess they're not a lot of work they're not allowed to work we go back to fix for one second with our it's really need about a fake the fig fruit is that it's not truly a fruit it is the it's in in in flower here we go here we go on site is it's the for the flowers inside the for okay going to go to anything else we'll have to describe the rest of that later but now just real quickly because we're gonna have to take a break for the news in a minute real quickly when you open up a pomegranate are you guys the evil doers will cut right through no I have spoken yeah I would just split up you cut a little bit and spit on okay right this whole on Mars just wanted to make sure yeah right if you want to give us a.

"Is fair game. If you'd like to check in at eight hundred seven sixty five three six to eight hundred seven sixty K F. But I think it's important to to look at the way certain stories are covered in the press. And I think this is an appropriate thing to do today. The Washington Post had a shocking headline shocking, and it affects everybody in the country. This is not a Washington DC story. This is in everywhere in the country story. Here's the headline. At least four million US children endured a school lockdown down this year. Four million school children experienced lockdowns this year. Prison. Now to me, I think that's pretty interesting. Right. You four million students. So the impression in your mind becomes what? The impression in your mind becomes what that there's a lot of bad events going on out there that the. Four million students are the victims of what? Four million students are the victims of. Lockdowns? So their school shooters that affected four million students. That's believable statistic. That's crazy. Well, except it's not really the case. Here's here's what I mean. They only tell you once you dig deep into the story that the four million students that experienced lockdowns in two thousand eighteen at least four point one million children in the USA sat huddled in closets or standing in corners as their schools went through lockdowns. The the incident took place during safety drills gun threats and active shooter scenarios leaving many students traumatized. Okay. You ever ever in school? We had a fire drill. Oh, yeah. You remember?.

"MBA eight hundred seven sixty five three six two may talk to a couple of great people who are on hold. Steve. Hello, steve. What's on your mind? Oh branch thing. That's not even when I was on the phone for. But I think it's Trump just doing a mechanism for the Democrats get triggered. And he'd really triggered. If he says, well, I'm gonna make this retroactive, but any rate that's not the point the point. Is you're caller before the break can't. Yes, I'm sorry that he's not happy with his life and the way he's decided to steer it. But I'm content with my meager little existence. I like my boss I like job. I it's a low end job. I put holes in the ground. So people don't have to when they want their new home. I, and I I managed to make make ends meet out here in alcohol, and and what I'm really tired of his people like him trying to tell me that I need to be happy to. Yeah. The challenge. Right. Because look we are in control of our own happiness to a large extent, not totally right. There are externalities that certainly impact us. But to a large extent that were in charge of us being happy. And nobody else is in charge of the Steve is happy for the bread is happy department. It's up to us. Right. That's correct. But they're they're out there. They're so they want to convince me that I need to be in the same amount of misery that they are. And it's it's old. It's like a worn out shoe right now. It's a challenge. It's a challenge. And you know, the interesting thing is I get that. There are folks who are concerned about other people. But. Well, if those people aren't concerned enough about their station in life to do anything about it. Well, what can you do? First step towards recovery is admitting. You have a problem the first step towards improving yourself as saying, okay, I'm going to aspire to do this. Instead, Mike is on a cell phone. Hello, mike. Welcome to the show. How you doing? I'm here friendly homeless person out here in bombs. All I heard you talking a lot about the homeless. I'm also a veteran I worked forty years at three different jobs, and I just cried my body doing I've waited four years for sharing with disabilities to get disability. But I paid into for all those years and my taxes for years as a full-time single parent raising a kid problem is that when when we pay and all this stuff on then. And the government social security department. Disability end of it. No one should have to wait for years. Homeless. Yup. It's true. No. If they would get their act together, probably reduce the homeless population by about twenty five thirty percent are the ones that I talked on the streets on a regular basis, even after I one mile award backing and early early September. They're saying they're not gonna pay me 'til sometime in November December. That's insane. Even get started stops. Right. So when you and you keep slamming the people who are homeless and everyone else take into consideration problem might not be there might not be. They don't wanna work. It might be like me and can't work. They've destroyed their bodies working, right? Not all of us. But every time I listen on the station alma. My loyal listening to the station and have been for many years, and I hear the homeless issue. All I hear is mental illness. Unwilling to work and things of that nature. And that's not the case you're talking to like, I said, well, I listen, I I I I'm sorry. If I offended you by by making the generalization, but really my indictment is not of homeless people. My indictment is of these phony fixes by municipalities like San Francisco and other cities who think well, we'll just take money out of companies or individuals pockets put it into our city coffers and still don't fix the problem. By my indictment is with the municipalities is with the bureaucracy. Not the people who are homeless. I would like to see people who are entitled to a settlement. Like, you're entitled to get that settlement. I would like to see somebody who is dealing with mental health issues or addiction issues to be able to get that help off the streets. But the reality is you had the ACLU you had a number of organizations come forward and file lawsuits to prevent people from being held against their will to get medical treat. Or addiction treatment or any of that sort of stuff you represent a unique sliver of that population. But Nevertheless, I think the the overwhelming majority of the folks that are suffering with those issues are not able to get the help that they want, and I don't think these municipalities can help them because they're gonna they're gonna try to steal money from companies and never never use the money for them. They could use the money for illegals. I agree. One hundred percent with that. But like I say, well, we need to start working as as with the social security and disability department. And prices like that and get people the money that they put into work for for so long. Yeah. Immediately and not wait for years. Like, I say, you know, my son and I been homeless for two years. That's insane. It's totally totally insane. And that's what needs to be brought to our attention. If we can reduce twenty five percent of the homeless by doing that just by a slam under the ruins of the social security administration and state disability and whatnot. There's a good jump right there. There's a good start, right? More resources for the other problems. Yeah. Great stuff. Mike. Let me know how things are are progressing for you. And I appreciate you checking in some ridiculous circumstances there. Eight hundred seven sixty K F eight hundred seven sixty five three six to. It's the Brentwood. Think that she goes I hold on John hold on. Because you are. You are on the worst phone. I have ever heard in my life, and it's dropping out. So hold on. You can get him on a cleaner line, John because I hung up. Alex in San Diego, John callback. If you can Alex is in San Diego. Welcome to the show. Hi, sir, McCall. Thank you, sir. Real quick. I wanted to talk about the FBI background checks. I'm sure you're aware process, but I've undergone four to in the civilian rule to military service. And you know, they do an extensive search. You know, they talked to friends family old teachers neighbors. I mean, you know, it goes back years. And so for all this to come out. I just find it not laughable because I don't want to you know that. But I just, you know, six as bad back on checks, and none of this stuff ever came out it, it's it's pretty hard for me to believe especially the alcohol abuse, right, which even if you didn't know about the sex stuff. Some somebody might have said, hey, he was a heavy drinker or he is a heavy or something. Showed signs right and something like that would have showed up, and then that would open the door to other risky behaviors. Right, obviously. You don't want to have somebody who's got a handle sensitive information being an alcoholic or a drunk or anything like that. Good stuff. Alex. I appreciate your calling your service in checking in with us. I appreciate that. John is in San Diego. Okay. John. So I'm sorry. I just wanted to get a clear line there. Yeah. I'm here. So you're saying you're saying it's makes sure radios make. Okay. So you're saying that Cavanaugh Ottis locked out of his tweet. He's locked his Twitter account down. Because basically he got had by somebody on fortune. That's correct. So just want wanna make sure you can hear him before I go and do it again. I can hear you sound great. Okay. So the so he locked his account. And everyone's wondering why an avenue ATI set himself that he got that some bought some trolls were or jamming up is Twitter and all this other stuff. Well, it comes out one of the the hackers on four Chan had his his girlfriend. Call him on a burner phone and troll him saying that she was a fifty one year old former student at the place next. Cavenaugh school. And that she knows what all the secret acronyms mean on the senior right up that everyone's been trying to decipher on cavenaugh, basically has avenue on the hook and avenue d officer twenty five thousand dollars to go speak with Anderson Cooper on CNN. She's she makes up this stuff about. No, no can't do it. I got bills. I'm gonna lose my job. So they didn't have an ATI promises are seventy five thousand dollars. And then the proceeds go fund me and that she's going to be a national hero. And then you know, they get him on the line. He's thinking he's got it. And then all of a sudden the the hacker in the girlfriend throw away their burner phones because you know, it started getting a little serious with the discussions with avenue. Oh, man. Okay. I so John I so want that to be true. If it's true that that's that's sting level quality from the movie the sting just to take this guy down down that road. Because you know, he has no way to screen out the kooks, like, you know, that avenue, can you imagine just could you imagine what his voice mail is got to be filled with some people calling mom. I gotta tell you space aliens got me with a pro a Kavanagh helped me down while the probed me, and he had a John Birch society hat on his head, and he was swigging from a handle the beam. I mean, he's got all kinds of wacky. I'm sure he's got he's got like he's got like coast to coast AM type calls coming in. I was a time traveler. Ebonite? He's going to get these separate phone number set up west of the Rockies. Call one eight hundred seven hottie. East of Iraqis call one eight hundred sixty eight million that one guy whatever his name was that was calling that one couple of weeks ago or whatever his name was kept trying to pitches.
