It was a clever very clever premise. I mean making a horror movie what you can't see the creature but it's still kind of horrifying now. The guy won like all right was shit. What about what about not looking at the creature. What'd you can't even close your ass. What what did you can't go to sleep. Yeah yeah no. It's like burt bought. You can't see the creature. The creature is insomnia. Yes you keep your eyes open. Because she can't go to sleep because why sleep will kill you. Get some sleep. I'm not tired. Why You Should Seek out Marginal Weather Days for Flight Training
"What's up wally. Bobby how are you fantastic. This week. We're taking on a topic that i've thought a lot about. I know we've talked about it more than once. But we are going to talk about why you as a student of whatever you're at and your aviation career should seek out marginal weather days with a flight instructor. Absolutely i think I i worked on my instrument. Now it's been almost three years ago Speaking of three years ago yesterday was my three year anniversary of buying this place all right. Well congratulations thanks. So about three. Years ago i finished my instrument rating or so but While i was in training the instructor that i had was really adamant that we get some extra time. And i've spoken about it. I was really an apprehensive pilot Young in my aviation career. I didn't feel real comfortable with everything. I that's just kind of scared me but i think the fact that he was so adamant that we do it and then we got it. While i was training for my instrument with some of the most valuable time i ever got. I believe when i took my check with you. I had something like eight hours of actual time which to someone listening. Who's not there yet my nothing but how many hours do you have to have wally to take your check. Ride in actual conditions zero. Wow zero actual time to qualify for an instrument rating got up forty hours of instrument. time all of which can be Simulated under the hood wearing a fogle or whatever view limiting device. You choose and some of it can be in a simulator. It's you know i. I use a little analogy of and this is not really totally accurate but You know if if you wanted to someone to play football you wouldn't teach him how to play basketball and say here's the ball. Go play football. You know you'd you'd actually show how to play football the better when there might be. You don't do all your learning playing flag football and then go play. Division one tackle football.
The Impossible Disappearance of Brian Shaffer
"At one fifteen. Am the security camera posted outside. The bar caught. Brian clinton meredith riding up the escalator and extensively heading for the ugly tuna celona forty minutes later at one fifty five. Brian can be seen again on the same security camera chatting with a couple of women out side the bar two security guards stand a few feet away most likely getting ready for the bar crowd to leave after last call at two. Am honestly even thinking about being at a bar at two am makes me tired on the security camera footage. Brian can be seen walking toward the entrance of the bar. But the actual entrance of the bar itself is out of frame as the drunken horrid of college. Students poured out of the bar at closing time. Clint and meredith waited outside for bryant. They called him on his cellphone but he didn't pick up in clinton back inside and check the bathroom but he wasn't there. Clinton meredith then made the assumption that brian had already left and hadn't told them folks. Can we please normalize not leaving your friends at bars. Just because you can't get a hold of them like unless they explicitly said you go ahead. I'll stay here and or they're not like incoherently drunk. Don't leave without your friend. Who gave you know warning that they were going somewhere. Well that's not. How clinton and meredith handle the situation. They assumed nothing was wrong and left But the next morning no one had heard from. Brian girlfriend tried calling him. His father tried calling him. He didn't pickup and then on monday morning. Brian was a no show at the airport for his flight. To miami with alexis by this point nobody had heard from him for almost forty eight hours. That's when everyone officially stopped assuming nothing was his family finally called columbus. Police department filed a missing persons report and shortly thereafter. The search for brian schaefer began
Leaky Gut, Endotoxemia, Inflammation and Microbiome Reconditioning
"Did you know that as you age. Your natural production of collagen declines this results. In fine lines and wrinkles joint pain dark circles under your eyes and more you see. Collagen is like the glue that holds your body together and luckily there's an easy way to feed your body additional collagen. It's bone broth. Studies show consuming bone. Broth protein can boost metabolism support. Gut health and digestion reduced. Cellular formation can help grow healthy skin and nails joints and more. But if you've ever made prome broth you know it's time consuming and who really has time to simmer bones for forty eight hours. That's why i like to use bone broth protein powder simply mix scoop with hot water. Add to a smoothie or even a baked dish and reap all the benefits of college enrich protein in just thirty seconds a day while most companies use the hides or the skin of the animal which are less nutrient dense than the bones. I always prefer using bones. And that's why. I love paleo valley bom broth protein because they use one hundred percent grass fed beef bones from cows that are never fed. Gmo grains or any grains for that matter even test for over forty pesticides to ensure this is the purest poem broth protein on the market. These bones are slow simmered to extract as much collagen protein as possible. They don't use. Any chemicals are solvents just good old fashioned bone broth that's then gently powdered. Now when we think about bone broth again we think about the protein collagen and there several key amino acids in there including glycemic pro lean hydroxy pro lean and those help to to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and help reduce cellulite. They're also critical for anti-aging as they help regenerate bones and help muscle and support heart. Health

Why You Don't Need to Love What You Do
"When i started my entrepreneur journey about nineteen years ago. I really struggled with starting a business that i could stick with for a long period of time because i was convinced or i was told that i have to love it every moment and it has to be my passion. It has to be my calling. And it's so grandiose it so hard to do something that you love every single day and then i realized that's a bunch of bs you don't need to do you love most people. Don't even the most highly successful people in the book. Grit by angela. Wf she talks about olympic athletes swimmers in particular she interviews all of them and she asked him the question. Do you love swimming pretty logical question. I mean if you're a gold medalist you probably love swimming. Riots your passion. The answer was very interesting. This particular gold medallist said. Do i love swimming. Are you asking me if i love waking up at four in the morning so i can jump into a cold pool and spend two hours doing laps looking at nothing but a blue line on the bottom of the swimming pool floor having a really restricted diet. Non being able to eat what. I love having to study film having to train six to eight hours a day to work towards one event every four years. No of course. I don't love that. But i'm willing to do that because i love being champion. I love being great at what i do. And that answer was goal to me because that's exactly the reality of the world. That's the reality of success. People will put up with hard work things that they would never do. The right mind because it's painful. Why do they do it because they want to win because they want to be successful because they want comes with that success so if you wake up every morning and you are not smiling ear to ear every minute of the day when you do the work you need to do for your business. It doesn't mean you're in the wrong business. It doesn't mean you can't be successful.
The Future of Ecstasy Plus Therapy for PTSD
"We have staff writer and editor kelly cervix. She's here to talk about the future of md m a this is a controlled. Substance sometimes called ecstasy or molly that has had some success in clinical trials for ptsd alongside talk therapy. Okay kelly how you doing. I'm doing okay. How are you sarah. Good i'm good. Let's start with the recent clinical trial results of md m. a. and therapy that was tested on. Ptsd patients. how did that go. How did that work. So there were ninety people in this study who were revised to get kind of a unique course of psychotherapy. They had a series of preparatory sessions with a trained therapist and then they got three eight hour long experimental sessions where they got either. Md ama or a placebo and then they got this series of sort of integration sessions to process that experience and the results were that two months after the last experimental session the difference between the drug and the placebo groups was pretty clear. Sixty seven percent of the participants who got md may no longer met the diagnostic criteria for ptsd at that point compared with thirty two percent of those who got placebo so this is sort of the the biggest and most thorough study of its kind to really find potential benefits of this drug in ptsd. What are the effects of this drug and people. I think maybe from popular culture people might think of it as something you take in a nightclub. Yeah this has definitely a reputation of a club drug that. I think that these investigators are really trying to overcome and may have a lot of complicated mechanisms and we don't understand all of them but it's thought that many of its effects come from its ability to increase certain neuro transmitters in the brain including dopamine and serotonin and so people sometimes described euphoric experience. Sometimes a sense of openness and sort of a heightened ability for empathy and you can imagine that something that in the case of ptsd therapists might aimed to exploit if a trauma survivors facing intrusive flashbacks in israeli avoiding these disturbing memories of something that happened to them. This drug might give them sort of less. Fearful less judgmental state in which to reflect on and process. What happened to them. That's the
Runner Cara Enright on Completing the Goggins Challenge
"Speaking of distance and pain caves. How are you feeling you just completed. The goggin challenged you ran for while you know. I'll let you explain it. I'm like you ran. Four by four equals forty eight. Then you can you explain to us the goggin challenge and tell us how you're feeling yes. So first of all props to any interns athletes out there that was so challenging like physically but also mentally. It was so hard. So we teamed up with ask clark who people might know him from the bachelor. He also does release recovery which is in addiction foundation. And we ran. let's see for. I'm very bad at explaining it as well. So every four hours we ran four miles for forty eight hours so over. The course of forty eight hours. We ended up running forty eight miles which coincidentally was the highest mileage. I've ever seen in my life in one week. And i did that in two days so i was very impressed but it was very challenging. I think the hardest part of the challenge wasn't so much the four miles because four miles didn't seem as daunting it was the only four hours in between the four miles and during that time you want to sleep you want to. We were lucky we got to shower during some of them so it was definitely an experience

Tips to Optimize Your 'Work From Home' Setup
"My first tip is to dedicate a workspace. Don't just work from anywhere at home. This is a big no-no dedicate a room. If you can with a door that you can close or corner of a room where that's just like the working corner. You only said there or you stand there. You work from there. When you're working on your business you don't work anywhere else. You don't work on your balcony with your laptop. You don't work on your table and you don't go there to relax okay. This allows you to say this is the workplace. I go there to work now. I know there's other people but we're going to create some incentives or some other systems allow you to Little easier on yourself but a dedicated workspace is very important. Make sure the space conducive for you to work me. There are no distractions. I like just a clear table or desk where i can. Just sit there with my notebook. My laptop my screen and just go for the less distractions better. Because i'll be forced just to get to work. One of the tactics. I like to do is create a to do list at the end of my day for the next day so i have my work cut out for me. The first thing in the morning. I know exactly what i'm gonna do. I have all my list of to. I'm ready to go now. There is an advantage of working from home. There's no commute back and forth. There is no wasted time where you're chatting with other people that's going to add up. You know you can add up two hours a week even just going out for lunch or going to the bathroom could be quite a hike and all those minutes add up. So why am i mentioned as well because you're probably trying to work the same amount of hours that you spend in the office including you know the time that you're you're working when you don't have to commute when you really shouldn't you really should incentivize yourself to finish early so if you finish everything you're supposed to do today. You should not continue working okay. I like to wake up earlier. Five in the morning. And i start my day that way but i spend about two hours Getting ready having breakfast reading just setting myself up for the day. I start working at seven. And if you're being totally honest yourself if you get five solid hours of work that's probably queant to eight hours in an

Cruise Cabin Mistakes To Avoid
"If you get it right you almost don't notice it but if you get it wrong you will keep kicking yourself and so will whoever you're cruising with. That's why i've put this together if you need to the channel. Welcome aboard on. Gary benbridge and marchessault travis all head to make it easier to find plan and have those cruise vacations you and your family dream of with the mind. Let's get going one of the biggest mistakes that people make is they don't want to spend time or money on the kevin because of the idea that the don't spend any time in there. I don't spend any time in my cabin. I just sleep in. My cabinet is not that important from there. Comes a huge amount of misery and unhappy crease experience. I know because. I learned the hard way and i literally get hundreds of comments confirming just this is also actually not true. Every single day you will spend up to half of your dna trails day to spend six to eight hour. Sleep perhaps one or two hours getting ready in the morning evening. Perhaps when you come back from excursions so you could be spending hof of the day. They're the biggest regret. I get is that people didn't take that seriously enough. Everyone assumes of course that everything will be perfect. It'll run smoothly and be just ride on a vacation but it may not be and it's really not worth taking that risk because if it goes wrong then you have real problems. Have for example. It's all fine until you have a huge amount of noise which means you don't get the rest that you want and going up nightclubs theaters gym equipment dying the scraping chairs on a product above your parting. People around the elevators problem neighbors kids noise come to interconnecting door crew coming and going through slamming access those people heading off port if you access to that areas right next to where you are all at kitchen noise vibration from engines and someone i would keep going on but there is a huge amount of things that could actually get in the way of you enjoying having a great

"Yeah well the search for short lived superleague. Proposed by europe's twelve biggest. football clubs. Looks like one of the most incredible own gulls for the ages this week after imploded spectacularly within just forty eight hours of being announced the outrage from fans playas politicians administrators alike was visceral the world football body favor and the european body. The Life and Death of the European Super League
"So adam now that we've seen basically all of the team's pull out of the super league as of now. I think it's just real madrid and barcelona that are still in it. Can we pronounce the super league dead. Does it still have a faint pulse. Where do we stand. I think we can say it's dying. These clubs will now have to richards. Ufo and previously. They have really significant seats at that table. They were on the board. They were putting over levers of power in their absence. Carrie sandra mona buying if take the biggest seats of influence because the other clubs they will resigned from that position is not a disaster for these clubs in that going back to but it's certainly intended and is the super league dead forever. I don't think you can ever say is dead forever because these clubs still have the most interest this still drive. The revenue drive the interest and if they were able to organize themselves. I'm putt larry. Goes to one side and come up with a real strategic plan an email communications plan. It's not inconceivable that this could happen in the fuchsia. But i think it would take very very very great. People to stall is compensation gain afterwards being the most kilometers. Forty eight hours. You a champions league is set to resume on tuesday of next week and at one. Point uefa the organizers of the champions league had threatened to ban super league players and teams from participating in the champions league rail madrid as of now has not withdrawn from the super league and they're scheduled to play in the champions league semi-finals. Is there a possibility that real madrid will get the boot from the champions league. That's a really good question while we're talking gone while we wednesday afternoon. Uk time as of yet real madrid have not withdrawn. But it's happening forty eight seventy two hours it's interesting in the sense of madrid's president frontino peres. He was the chairman of this new

"Welcome row. Thanks so much for joining us today. Thank you for inviting me. It's great to be here survey cited to hear your stories especially since you travel so much throughout the year and i can't wait to hear the crazy driving experiences that you've had during those travels. So what would you say. Is the most craziest or most interesting driving experience. You've had well. I have had a quite a few about two years ago. Almost exactly and i was in tbilisi georgia. I adjust arrive my first trip there and my local tour operator. Pick me up at the airport. And it'd traffic didn't seem like much to me. But i could tell she was a little bit hesitant driving. I'm the passenger and so she was just kind of taking her time and going slowly being very cautious which was fine and then she says. Don't worry about my driving tomorrow. My father's gonna us. And i'll be able to talk to you and answer your questions to concentrate on the road to be honest in the back of my mind. I'm like oh great i was. I was kind of happy about that. 'cause over all having been to georgia now equivalent of three or four months total. They're driving can is something to be desired. Let's put it that way. So the next day her father and her pick me up at my hotel. He's an older gentleman. And that's you know that's fine. But i'm thinking okay. Great experienced driver. We're gonna be fine so little. Did i know that he just might have been one of the worst drivers. I've ever been with and i had to spend a total of. I think two days with them driving about eight hours a day because they were showing me all around the area which is great and my tour. Operators do this all the time in. Can't be more thankful so. I don't want to sound like i wasn't appreciative. But it was one of those things where i don't know how he did it but he slowed down to pass people and he sped up to be
What Could a College Football Super League Look Like?
"I wanna talk about the super league. Right to the super league takes over Soccer and for forty eight hours eight hours and now it's gone. It's a thing of the past. It was a nice wispy thing. It's like at the end of forrest. Gump it's a little feather. They just flies up and just goes away and then the super league is gone forever but it did cancer. The imagination is a pretty much fans of every other sport who came up with their own superleague for their sport. Now this happened a lot in college football as the lazy among us decided to just do a super league not me. I have the super. Oh kaley coming out. But so the super league proposed by andy staples he has. Let's see fifteen teams only team all right. Well there was only twelve. Or i think there's only twelve in the super league. Now they were gonna eventually get the twenty. they're starting with twelve broke alias. Twenty-five i liked this

What you're going to leave for your family. And for your later years in life, if you if you plan now, well, you can do quite well. Down the road, and we always appreciate his insight on these Monday's David, I hope you had a great weekend. You know who didn't have such a great weekend was Bitcoin talk to me. Bit Clinton a few other kryptos and it seems to be tied into China and also gold. We'll get to that in the moment, but, yeah, Big Queen lost 15% in a short period of time less than eight hours from set late Saturday night early Sunday morning. The other Cryptocurrency, the second largest eat your ECM lost 18% so more than Bitcoin. There seems to be like three reasons why this is happening, Kevin. The number one reason for the plunge is what a lot of people have been talking about. Analysts. The economists are saying the crypt of currency market just Huge with frostiness and well, overvalued. I mean, there's a coin last week on and I'm not endorsing any certain around a Cryptocurrency but do going it's sort 400% in a week, so that's just huge. The second reason is ah. It's unverifiable report, though, was put out on Twitter that claimed that the U. S. Treasury was looking into charging several financial institution. For using crypto currencies and also from money laundering. There is a movement by the iris just to let everybody know called Operation Hidden Treasure, which coincides with this. Ah, unclaimed report on verified So that is a real thing that the iris is coming down on people laundering money and not paying taxes on Cryptocurrency. And the third reason why this just might be is run the aftermath. All we talked about last week Queen Base when public on the NASDAQ and it ran up, and now it's just this is kind of like the hangover. That's happening s o, But there's people out there saying, you know, Bitcoin is is going to be with us to stay, and it's also competing against the US dollar. Well, and

"eight hours" Discussed on NPR Politics Podcast
"Listen and subscribe to life Kit. And we're back so Scott. Douglas about what you feel has actually changed in democratic politics since this moment since twenty ten. Yeah I think. The Democratic Party has gotten a lot more outwardly. Populist obviously populism has always been a threat and the Democratic Party but Bernie Sanders was really an outlier and the steel. A lot of Democrats were mad but he was really the only one taking taking this forceful stand. Only two other Democratic senators joined him in this filibuster to give him a little bit of a break and there's one moment that really just crystallizes all of this to me me. And that's when Bill Clinton is talking in the White House early on one of the first things he says I should say I'm really wealthy and that I'm going to benefit from this tax break and I just WanNa put it out there now. There's no world where you would see somebody saying something like that. Now you know another thing that struck me about it is like that speech. Yes yes it was about this tax deal but it was really about Bernie Sanders worldview. It was him laying out all of these ideas and themes that we've heard repeatedly on the campaign trail and there was obviously not room to touch on all of the points he made in the eight and a half hour speech but there are so many refrains that just like are central themes names that he talks about every single day and has been for years and it just all came together in this one moment. One thing that I didn't really get a clear answer on with a lot of people I talked to was I asked. Do you think this deal would happen today. Do you think it would get the votes. Had got in the Senate today and a lot of sanders supporters had absolutely not. There's IT's no way I talked to Harry Reid a lot reporting the story. He was the former longtime top senate. Democrat Minority Leader Majority leader at different points and I asked him. Do you think this still happens happens. And he says I don't think that the Bush tax cut extensions do end up in that final package if it happens today though I will say that last week Congress voted Oded on a number of deals that include tax extenders and other tax breaks and basically there have been some deals made that Ed. I'm not convinced that are all that different than what sanders gave an eight and a half hour speech about so Scott at the end of this piece. You outline a kind of central question in that I think we not only heard Bernie Sanders but we have already heard a lot about in this twenty twenty campaign cycle and that's this question about compromising or fighting. What is the right tactic? What's the right strategy for Democrats to take? How do you think that is playing out now? I think it's a defining argument in this presidential campaign. I hadn't fully realized until I started reporting this how central a role Joe Biden played in putting together this deal that Bernie Sanders opposed. But it's something that Biden is really at awed with Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders on in this campaign. The idea of cutting deals of incremental progress. It of course plays out mostly on the healthcare front. Do you totally Redo obamacare or do you build on it and Joe Biden's like a central argument of his campaign. Is that the Democrats who just want to fight. Who Don't want to compromise? Cut Deals are very vocal are very public but they might not be the majority of the democratic electorate and that's something that we are going to quickly get some receipts on when people start loading next month as much as for Bernie Sanders fighting is the answer and and not compromising. Values is the answer for Vice President Biden who I've worked on a profile of that sort of ability to compromise or the ability to bring people together her that's like fundamental to his pitch. "Stupid part since there are no rules about emotional support animals. All you have to say, this is an emotional support animal. I need this animal you go on an airline, and they have no choice. Well, not airlines saying, oh, no. We're gonna stop it right here. First of all no support animals for flights. Limiting them for flights over eight hours because he can't have a dog or a cat sitting there for eight hours. My dog could have done that stayed for eight hours. Yeah. The col- crossing your legs for eight hours. Oh, but most that's a long time is a time. And also there they have to do is first of all figure out a national registration animal for service animals. They have to be certified, which means that service organizations. I have to register and half to be in half be accredited and just do that. That's easy to do that. With filing a permit fee. And and that way limited to legitimate service animals, you just said it Bill legitimate. Yeah. That's exactly it will have gone. This is my this is my I need this lizard. I need bird people have gone to bring a peacock on. Yeah. That's right. And then brought ferret ferrets and someone tried to bring a parrot on there. So it has to be legitimate there. For example, the dogs to help the the the the the blind. Well, I want saw seeing eye chicken and. And it worked. I mean, it was that's a support animal is probably still tastes. Seen a chicken run. The person trying to follow the chicken. It's not fun. It's a rocky. Okay. Here's the story about the person. Didn't have I got I got you. That's miniature horses are still allowed. That's right, which I've always wondered about that. But they have to be service animals. Yes. Emotional support. I don't care. How do you bring a horse on an airplane with a small one? Small have you seen miniature horses are like the size of a small dog. No, they're not a big dog. Very big dog. Great Dane like a yellow dog except a lot more girth. Yeah. I mean, not if not to mention do we know the animals wanted to talk about support they need support. I don't want to be on this plane for eight hours. I didn't sign up for that. And by the way, there's no horse second hold on for eight hours in cross its legs. That's for sure. Speaking of. Yes. Speaking of planes, oversized luggage. The buggies is actually the workers. "Get eight hours of sleep. It is typical together less sleep as we get older. So some people run off a six hours sleep and do just fine, but controlling our other things like stress and anxiety. Those types of things also helps control chronic diseases like diabetes or thyroid issues will help us feel a little more energized. So how would I know that I have a thyroid problem? Let's use that as an example because the thyroid is regulatory gland grand. You know, tell me about the thyroid. So usually if you go to your primary care doctor once a year for annual exam. The thyroid is something that we can check if you do have fatigue as an issue. It's one of those things we want to rule out as underlying cause of fatigue, and that's just through a blood test. And that's. The blood panel that once a year yearly physicals you're gonna take blood, and you're gonna look at it for these maybe acceptable thyroid problems cracked unusually for thyroid is sluggish. That's when we feel tired and treatable by medication. Okay. So let's talk about diabetes and fatigue. So diabetes has numerous causes for fatigue. If our blood sugars are too high, we're constantly rundown. If they're too low, then we're also tired from that. So keeping our what's in the right range is how we can control fatigue when you're diabetic. And if I'm diabetic. I mean, if I have a problem, I mean, not only fatigue whether there I mean, I might understand you you're going to be thirsty you're gonna frequent urination things that could be going on. And in today's world, we also have the type one and now we have type two diabetes. So I mean is there obesity associated with type two and fatigue? Have. Absolutely. And obviously losing weight will help us be less fatigued, and that controls are blood brings them from being really high to being more in the normal range. Mckay. Let's talk about we talked about thyroid we talked about diabetes, and let's talk about let's go back to sleep because it's something that. We all need to work on. But there was this thing out there we hear about it sleep apnea. So tell us about sleep apnea big topic more people have than you'd think. Yeah. So sleep apnea happens when we most people don't know, they have it. A spouse will say, hey, you snore, all the time. And you wake up our twits constantly and most people don't notice that themselves.

"A chair for eight hours a day. One of the things I talk about is wild plantain take legemaate take these are two of the of the five characteristics that you see prevalent amongst all blues owns these areas where there are a higher than the normal level of people who have very long time. You also see absence of smoking. You see, you see a large amount of time spent with family and love and social relationships. You don't see people exercising much. You actually see very little exercise in a box stepping into a cross fit wad beating yourself up with a barbell. Instead people engage in low level physical activity usually in nature all day long. So it's very interesting we can learn from a lot of these relations. But yes, something simple as as learning how to identify wi- plants that grow in nature around you and rather than picking them up or mowing them to pieces, you eat them, put them in smoothies. That's fascinating. So in the blue zone study. So the blue zone is concept. That that dentis areas in the world where people live unusually long amount of time. For example, incident, you get ten x number of people living to the hundreds as you do in the United States. So scientists studied this, they label these areas blue and Ben where you find a lot of Smurfs these balloons and then you're saying that it has little to do with exercise, but more to do with moderate activities such as walking and with eating healthy. Exactly. You know when when you look at the way that society is built, whether it's the doctor's office, whether it's, I mean, ironically, as conceive, even a conference room, you'll full of.
