"Hiring isn't easy but there is one place you can go where hiring is simple in smart that place is ziprecruiter where growing businesses connect to qualified candidates ended its try it for free at Ziprecruiter. Dot Com Slash Tech Talk Ziprecruiter the smartest way to hire so we're back in Seattle with Nick Weaver Birds Founder and CEO of Bureau. which is the device that helps you get better? Wifi in the home nick. Tell everybody about the new products yeah. We're really excited about it. It's the most affordable all euro system today it start shipping today and it starts at only two hundred forty nine dollars for a set of three so it's half the price of our current euro pro system awesome. Tell folks who don't know the quick little story about what the euro device will do. Everybody's got Wi fi and they've got dead spots in the home your device we'll do what for them yes so eros this really as simple whole-home. Wi Fi system so in today's world when you're connecting devices all over your home you might have a an echo in office and fire fire TV in the living room ring camera outside your door the days of having one router just in one part of your house or over it's not going to provide the type of coverage and reliability and performance that you need to connect all these devices make sure you've seamless connectivity in every room in the home and so what we pioneered. Eero was the concept of Mesh System so instead of one unit. You can have multiple for euro. You can buy single units. You can buy systems uh-huh that are sets of three and you don't need to stop there. You can keep adding units to make sure you're able to tailor a system that covers every room of your house or even the backyard so basically many routers yeah every euro unit can be both a router or A. Mesh axis at this point where you just plug it into power or it can be a wired access point if you have Ethernet in in your home and what's great is you set them up with the APP and and they self configure so you don't need to be. It whiz or or or have a you know a degree in networking to understand how the products work you just set them up the APP takes care of it. It's super seamless and anyone can do it. Okay and in a perfect world should have three euros in the home or the at the home is now changing. Do you see a day where we're supposed to have six nine. I'm thinking well the reason our our systems are sets of three is that covers the a typical home in in in the US and so you know a good rule of thumb. Is You want to have one unit per every call it thousand the two thousand square feet it all depends on home construction and so what we've found with three is you can cover typical home and it's really easy to add on Moore If if you've got a bigger a bigger place what's GonNa be what's going to happen. Is You know over the years you're gonNA start seeing more and more devices prices in more places in your home so whether that's sensors in your basement to look for water or cameras outside your home or four speakers for the you know for the backyard our connectivity demands are just. GonNa keep increasing and so over the years what we'll see is likely people adding more and more or euros to be able to expand coverage more places. How many are in your home. I live in San Francisco so I've got three. That's more than adequate for for our Condo but you know I've got friends and family with five six ten Eros in some of their homes all right nick weaver here in Seattle at the Amazon event. First I Met My Children, Then My Girlfriend... They're Related.

"Didn't meet my girlfriend Jessica until twelve years years after our daughter Alice was born. Let me explain nearly twenty five years ago. I returned from a year of teaching English abroad moved in with my mother and Dan lacking prospects began driving a cab one day I saw newspaper ad seeking healthy men eighteen to thirty five to participate in a seaman donation program program. Donors is the standard industry word yet. Virtually all of us are paid forty dollars. A pop is what I received in Nineteen ninety-four I applied to sell my sperm and sold twice weekly for a year at the time I was in a long distance relationship so the seemed like a good outlet when I told my mother other she presciently wondered aloud. If this was the only way she was going to have grandchildren today sperm buyers view detailed profiles for potential vendors whereas I wasn't asked to provide much beyond college major hobbies and Family Health History Jessica and her partner at the time chose me primarily because I was a the writer and musician after a year of selling my sperm I went back to giving it away and largely forgot about the whole thing occasionally the subject objective whether I had children would come up and make a joke about probably having a bunch I had signed a nondisclosure waiver in assumed there would never be away from my progeny in me to find nine one another then the Internet happened in the early two thousands. I searched online for a way to find my offspring and discovered the donor sibling registry. I didn't see any leads there and never got around to checking back. I had looked way too early my project. He began to use the site to find each each other when they became teenagers. In the twenty tens a couple of years ago began seeing ads for twenty three and me a service that analyzes your saliva spit in a test tube and mail it off for analysis and provides you with information about ancestry health and DNA gives the opportunity was obvious but I I assumed the odds of finding my children were low. I procrastinated for months before curiosity and urged to know them made me order a kit mm-hmm. I got my results back and boom. I had a son Bryce. His full name was unusual enough that I- easily googled him and the picture churn resembled me enough that I felt confident this senior geography major was mine mine guessing he had been notified of my existence by twenty three and me. I mold for a week before finally putting fingers to keyboard dear bryce. I wrote I recently joined twenty three and me and found you listed as my son son so I believe myself to be your biological father. I hope may existence isn't a shock and wonder whether you joined in the hopes of connecting with me. My letter letter continued awkwardly from they're giving him a brief sketch of my life. Bryce replied almost instantly dad. I cannot express how excited I am to be hearing ring from you. I did join twenty three and me hoping that you would have already done so and was upset to see you. Hadn't this is amazing though and I'm so happy I'm one of six of of your children that I'm aware of and in contact with I'm twenty years old and live on Long Island but I'm studying in upstate New York. Dad I was briefly concerned. That bryce might have some fatherly expectations of being show up on my doorstep but my worries were unfounded. It's it's a brave new world and we're all struggling with the terminology more important six children yikes. I did some Napkin. Math based on the number of samples provided the odds of conception and estimated that I may have as many as sixty seven children bryce connected me with Madeline nineteen upon viewing her facebook page. I had my first parental thought ever. My daughter should put some more clothes on. I may be biased but I found my children to to be ridiculously attractive. I felt a sudden need to share their photos with all the ex girlfriends who chose not to marry procreate with me a few months later a new. DNA relative appeared on twenty three and me Alice age eleven her mother. Jessica wrote me a note. She and her performer partner had each given birth to one daughter conceived with my spur. They broke up years ago but had been raising both girls together until recently. When the other mother moved away away with the daughter she'd given birth to Justin I began to chat online. She knew a lot about buying sperm and self impregnating which was fascinating for meat alert as it turns out. It was more difficult than my role masturbating in Newark. She also no longer identified as lesbian in and was dating a man who incredibly had my same first and middle names Aaron David with a similar mono-syllabic last name. Had there been a mix up at the bureau. Eero boyfriends was either one who was supposed to be dating her. My children and I exchanged written biographies. Braces showed me how little I know of a young adult culture and reminded me that wants twenties are difficult to decade. matty's revealed a keen understanding of her upbringing in the parts of it. She would like to break week from but it was alice's entitled a series of Awkward Events separated by snacks that floored me her biography. A fee was a hodgepodge of lists and memories written under duress mom right or death favorite color black like my soul all favorite holiday Halloween because candy and murder. She liked Alfred Hitchcock films. Basically she wrote. I'm an angsty exte- teen in a child's body. This kid's eleven a plan developed for Bryce and Matty to come to Seattle for a couple of weeks in in the summer. Jess and Alison lived a few hours south and would drive up. I figured meeting my children was going to be the closest thing I ever have to a wedding. So I decided to host host a party I had told my news to a few people but most learned of it from the meet my kids party facebook invitation featuring photos of Bryce Mattie and Alice Alice the shock value was high genetics. Good luck or force of circumstance. I loved my children right away. They haven't uncanny any aura of Minas. Bryce is shy but sharp and obsessed with memes in a way I might have been had. I grown up gency. Alice has little use for adults colts as I still don't Mattie especially has my sense of humor and is locking gazes with her my brain explode but then we laugh at the party we played a nature versus nurture question and answer game and discovered we were all quite liberal and that none of us believed in God awed none of them however sleeps with a pillow between their knees as I have long done the first time Justin I found ourselves alone. We hugged at length in a way entirely inappropriate for people who had just met just says I have mannerisms that remind her of both her daughters and thus felt instantly comfortable with me aw whether we were pawns of fate or unwitting participants in a Chromosomal e arranged marriage Jessica quickly bonded. I deployed my bureau of boyfriends mix up line to a grudging but sweet reception during the vacation she and I easily fell into the mom and dad role for Bryce Mattie and Alice Alice. We soon had jokes and tease each other about our foibles just like any family. I even gave Bryce and Mattia lecture about smoking at the end of the visit. Bryce somehow managed to get jess analysis kicked out of the House. They were renting by climbing onto the roof to retrieve toy so I invited them to stay with me. Meanwhile they figured things out. What just soon figured out was that she wanted to keep staying with me. Alice roller is as if she'd been tricked into a traditional family arrangement while twenty-three in me is not generally considered a dating site Justin. I are grateful to the technology that has made our backward formed relationship relationship possible. We have a lot of questions about love and genetics and whether we would have felt this connection had we met in a more conventional way. Our Bond has survived live the how cool is this face. We still enjoy cyber monitoring my other progeny and speculating about how many more me emerge I'm up to ten now. I've had some contact act with the new ones mothers but haven't made plans to meet yet. Mattie liked the west coast and us and recently moved into our place. We're hoping to lure bryce back to

Natalie Portman denies Moby's claims they dated

"Natalie Portman actress, so Moby bragged in his book that he dated Natalie Portman at one point, he, he said, in kind of a humble brag, he said here, I was in my dressing room in this movie star was flirting with me. She claims she never flirted with them. He was creepy to her. She claimed he was a creepy older man who behaved inappropriately with her. He said, I was twenty she said in his book, he said he was thirty three and she was twenty. He said, I was twenty I definitely wasn't I was a teenager. I just turned eighteen there was no fact checking hammers publisher he goes on to say, no, no, they dated any says, I don't know why she would say such when we in fact dated, and we kissed under the trees at Harvard University, and he smuggled with her, and her dorm, and then once she fell asleep, he removed her arm and went back to his hotel. So I guess they didn't do anything more. Have you heard music? Poppy happy. He's do you who do you believe here? And is this another case of we were just talking about some guy will say, no, I was mentoring her, and I was being kind can be she said no use being creepy. They both have their own interpretation of this, Joe. Well, I think this sounds well, Mobis known vegan activist. So I think is lower testosterone affected his memory. Is real beta male moved to think I thought we were dating. Now, now she just being nice to you clown, used to play guitar in punk band called that can commandos. That's right. Yeah. Vatican. Yeah. If you really want it, look, I guess, this book, he had an interaction with Lana del Rey before she was famous, apparently trying to lure her back to his place to play the piano, and she shut him down. Really good. And even the expert he's like, I couldn't tell shoes, insulting me or not. It's like dude that verbally throwing a drink in your face. Well, tell you when you years ago, if you a rock musician and you got famous part of, you know, the fringe benefits of being a rock musician was young gals in coming back to your dressing room. I mean that's and Moby was trying to ride into that. But he's, you know, he's got admit the, he's the guy him and all his friends brought in this modern era. Yeah, but, you know, okay, fine groupies, but now, he's shooting, a little high with Natalie Portman, they're, you know, okay mic. So I think so of him, he said, I'm sure she was. But it doesn't mean she was sexually attracted to him, or even if she was it doesn't mean as I remember being twenty and you know, you could be attracted to a guy in his thirties, but, you know, doesn't mean you would hook up with him. That's like Super Bowl to old, I'm doing the math here. He said in his book, he was thirty three she was twenty and they dated and he talked about. She was twenty she was in my dressing room. She was flirting with me. She. She said I was young. I was barely eighteen fifty three. She's thirty seven. I'm doing the math here that sixteen years if he was thirty three she was seventeen. Even his own story where he gets to. So we were back to her dorm. No, not even your own recollections. It don't go back to the dorm when you're definitely thirty three year olds should not be going to the dorm Eero. Yeah. No. I mean today, really are like fifteen to completing that's a good point. You made though because I remember when I was in my twenties and someone who is thirty. You couldn't believe that they were spry enough to walk like you don't have any conception. Oh, yeah. There. I mean, come on, when you first in the city and you're working with other comics. And you think in yourself how old is guy like thirty? Yeah, you still at it. He's real. Meanwhile, cut to me, I'm like, you know. Late thirties. And I'm still going, I finally get by get booked on Conan. I was like

Eliminate WiFi Dead Spots In Your Home With Eero

"Dish and digital sponsored by New York's ultimate camera authority. If you have sluggish WI fi in parts of your home, you may want to replace your current router with something called a mesh network. The strain in Spain: an election looms

"Hello and welcome to the intelligence on economist radio. I'm your host. Jason Palmer every weekday. We provide a fresh perspective on the events shaping your world. In Japan policies and attitudes. That took hold after the second. World War have repercussions that still affect day to day life this week the government at last apologized to tens of thousands of people who were forcibly sterilized in post-war eugenics. Push our correspondent talks to one of them. And the rebuilding of Japan after the war took on an almost military quality as soldiers swapped uniforms for suits. That's made the country's work ethic. Famous notorious even as a new emperor ascends next week. Japanese employees are getting extra time off work to celebrate. But they're not sure they wanted. First up though. 2017 Spain's wealthy semi autonomous region of Catalonia made a push for independence. And former that sheet or the no. That unconstitutional referendum. It voted to break away from Spain. Madrid soon crushed secession bid. But the on issue was far from over it helped trigger this Sunday's general election, the third in little more than three years Spain's, prime minister. Pedro Sanchez called the snap poll in February that those cleaness. Another econ seem worst after a crushing defeat in parliament all Kombucha that up a lower than yours. Equa- his minority. Socialist government had depended on support from small regional parties, including the Catalan nationalists, but they voted with Mr. Sanchez's right wing opposition to reject his twenty nineteen budget plan. His government was paralyzed. The coming election is supposed to break that impasse. But the political landscape remains a fractured. The simmering cuddle on crisis, looms, large, still and Europe is looking for a stabilizing force in uncertain times. Spang goes to the polls on Sunday, the twenty eighth, and it's a very important election because you have another European country that is plunged into real political crisis. Christopher Lockwood is our editor for the Los Eero Spain's been led by government that any had twenty four percent of parliament's, very weak minority government and the prospect after this election is you still went to have a majority and we've seen this pattern happen quite a lot in Europe in Germany. It took many months to form a coalition Belgium had terrible problems putting together Italy the same. It's a growing problem. The fragmentation of political parties in Europe. And I think we're about to see on Sunday a nasty new case of it in Spain. So what do you expect the outcome of the election to being do think Mr. Sanchez will be able to hold onto power? I think that the socialist party which currently forms the minority government will again emerge as the largest party. But it will be very well short of having a majority and the real problem is that there are no. No, viable poss- to a stable code shouldn't at the moment. And the reason for that is the political spectrum has fragmented with the entry of a couple of new parties until recently Spain essentially had two big parties since left in the center right party. But what you've seen is the entry of radical left party Damus a party more or less than the center called the Donoso the citizens party and now about to enter parliament for the first time a fairly far, right? And he migration party cools. Vox on the problem is when you've got five twenty parties in parliament, none of them can form a coalition very easily because none of them seem to want to work with each other. So the danger is that you'll end up having some very inconclusive coalition negotiations fully by another election. If you have another election this year as many people are predicting that will be the fourth of action in four years. This is not a happy state of affairs. But as you say Spanish politics has not always been this way. What's driven all this fragmentation? Well, a couple of things I think clearly one was financial crisis followed by the year is in crisis and this hit Spain very hard. Indeed that led to a demand for new parties to come and solve the problem. If you like, but then the other thing that changed in Spain was the emergence of Catalonia and separatism there as a political issue. So it brought back onto the table. The problem of nationalism in Spanish politics. This takes you all the way back to Franco, of course, early in the Spanish, civil war body parts of it was precisely for over Catalonia and tempted succession there, and none of this has gone away. There has been a tension between Catalonia and the center founders of years, but it had been hoped that it was sort of put to bed then that all changed with demands by Catalina have an independence referendum and then actually declare independence. Both of those things were not permitted under the current constitution. As a result of which the independence that they unilaterally declared was decreed illegal with. Oppressed by direct rule from Madrid. And the people who promoted it put in jail, they're now being tried and nine of them face the prospect of extremely long jail sentences, which again, but devils the whole political atmosphere and also poisons relationships between a number of the stabbing parties and what about outside Spain. How much do you think this election matters in terms of European stability? Well, it will be engine to see what happens with vox, FOX gets taken into a coalition. I didn't think was very likely, by the way. But it could if that happens that will clearly send a lot of shivers down European spines because it will just to mate taking into power of other right wing parties. I think more likely is that Spain will just continue in this rather unfortunate period of political paralysis that's going through. And I think that's bad for Europe in a different way. The reason is that Europe needs more strong countries. Traditionally Europe was run by sort of Franco German access and one of the great strengths of having Britain in the EU. Is to certain extent balancing third power between those two having something to say to both countries to the Germans to be like Germany and apostle of the free market and sound budgetary principles. But also to the French preserving the importance of national foreign defense policies in particular certain sort of sovereigntists attitude towards the way things were done in Europe. Now Britain's leaving the you'll says it wants to leave the and people would like to know we'll be another power to balance out the Franco-German access and Spain sometimes suggested could have been one of those that seems very unlikely if it remains paralyzed it's the calm bit has terrible problems and now political problems. So I think that instability in Spain, you know, robes Europe of another potentially valuable additional actor, Chris. Thanks very much for coming in my pleasure.

Amazon is buying popular mesh Wi-Fi company Eero

"Monday evening. Amazon announces that it is purchasing Eero. Which was I think a big surprise and a company that a lot of people were very happy was independent. Price of the acquisition price was not shared. But presumably it was it was no small number. What was your initial take on this? Because. You know, I think that they've done a pretty good job of getting through the noise of the of the smart, home and smart router space. I think so I mean from what I understand eras product is very popular and people do like it. I think these smart routers, are clearly it's the way forward if you buy anybody who's doing consumer research right now, you're probably being pushed into one of these smart router solutions. So I think on the Amazon side, it's interesting because what we're seeing is that Amazon is ever so slowly inching toward, you know, basically getting into products of services, which is weird because Amazon sells products, and they also sell a service, but they're just trying to they're getting his many tentacles as they can into people where maybe you can buy something, you know, that can work with something else. They sell it. It's I think it makes sense. Because right now there is so so hard on competing with Google and Google makes smart routers, Amazon, the smart router, and I. Think this? I wonder if they will rebrand Eero. That's I think that's an interesting question. Like, what is what does it mean for the euro brand of products? Will they still be euros? Yeah. I guess that's a good point because they've left their other acquisitions or smart who acquisitions alone ring and blink are the two most notable brands, they're Andrew they've done. They've kind of left fring alone. But at the same time it's unclear whether ring had the breadth of releases and its pipeline before they were purchased by Amazon. His you know, they they were very focused. They had a ring doorbell. They then went to an alarm system. Now, they're moving into smart lighting and sensors and they're trying to create this whole ecosystem all under the the ring umbrella. They have this very controversial neighbors program, which they expanded recently share data with

"Talking tech is brought to you in part by northwestern. University offered in partnership with north Western's Feinberg school of medicine. The program prepares students for emerging opportunities across the healthcare spectrum. Details are at SPS dot northwestern dot EDU slash informatics. I'm Jefferson Graham with USA listening to talking tech the weekend edition where we look back at one big story from the week and try to make a little sense out of it this week Amazon did a lot of things you probably heard all about New York in backing out. But we're not going to talk about that. We're gonna talk about Amazon acquiring another startup the maker of the beloved tech product Eero, which is a mesh router that improves dead WI fi spots in the home and two that you might have said so I mean like sure is just another purchase by the world's largest online retailer. But more importantly, it's an indication of how Amazon wants to go further than just. Making our home smart. It wants to turn our dwellings into the Amazon home think about that for a minute. Your guests are greeted at the door with the video doorbell from ring accompany Amazon bought in two thousand eighteen your guests enter living room, where an Amazon echo speaker is playing music as it awaits voice commands, you all head to the kitchen where an Amazon microwave is heating up dinner made from food bought it whole foods, of course. Right. As you turn down the volume on the Amazon fire TV edition television. You ask Alexa to dim the smart lights using the one sparked product in the home not owned by Amazon yet the Hugh system by Phillips of Amsterdam and the WI fi now the guts of the system without which none of the other products could operate is being controlled by the latest device bought by Amazon, the euro, are you comfortable with Amazon controlling so much of your home. Well on Twitter. Her this week a lot of people weren't at. Rick Williams, noted that it was terrible news as Eero was going to quote, one of the biggest data suckers out there, unquote. At Steve Riggins said it's terrible news for his privacy, concerns. Quote. I don't let Alexa in my house for those reasons. And now, you're back doored me unquote, Amazon and Eero downplayed the privacy issues saying that the mesh router doesn't share wifi information. But Amazon as euro does now will soon know how you use your WI fi whether that's on computer or mobile drive, a lot of techies like myself loved Eero because it solve an important problem. Helping to wipe out spotty wifi service across the home. The euro was the first such product in a category soon emulated by Google net gear links us and others. A three pack of the Eero for multiple rooms sells for five hundred bucks. Google undercut it in its version two two hundred and fifty dollars. Now, Google only has two. Smart home products. It's euro like Google system and the nest thermostat while apple doesn't market any under its brand name. Neither apple nor Google have been as aggressive enquiring smart home products and win a company like Amazon has dibs more products in your house. That means rival once can't be easily used once you're all in on Alexa, is there room for Google home hubs video speaker, which operates on the Google assistant. I don't think so because you can't use both interchangeably Amazon famously missed out on smartphones by trying to get into the market too late after apple and Google it has since built a giant device business with the readers, tablets connected. Speakers security cameras and now smart home products. A recent visit to one of the Amazon bookstores in Los Angeles shows just how aggressive Amazon is getting in this category with a large selection of store devoted to smart. Home made easy the cost of entry based on what what I saw on display. A good. Thousand dollars. Now, add the price of euro, which Amazon could drastically lower from its current five hundred dollar price tag. Because after all the ring after Amazon bought it's saw its price slashed in half from two hundred bucks to one hundred bucks. Great news for consumers. But at what cost talking tech listeners, I want to hear from you. Let me hear your thoughts on Twitter, I'm at Jefferson Graham, thanks for listening to the show. We should talk about a correction last week when we were answering something on the I o t podcast hotline. We said that I devices switches do not work with Android. We were wrong. They have had an Android app for quite some time. I just have never tried it. So no that. Is available to you. You're the Android user. I have an iphone. So I'm in the clear. Yes. It's a lot of data there. And then third ero- has a cybersecurity service called euro-plus. I actually subscribe to it just to see if it was worthwhile. "Way more about you than it could glean from your router. Anyway, I'm not saying that's a good thing. But Amazon powers almost the entire internet right now. In fact, EROs Eero prime with the with the VPN and stuff may use Amazon back in services already. So I think it's easy to overreact to this. But I also am disappointed as an era user that. Now, another one of my devices falls under the big companies when I liked that. I had a small independent company that I didn't have to worry about consolidation. You know, but okay, I understand that in in, you know, on a high level. But what exactly do you think is going to change by Amazon by Nero? Oh, I doubt actually lived like logically. I doubt much is going to change. Amazon is a pretty good track record of leading companies like ring just continue to operate. I hope that they don't change euros privacy policy. It would be stupid for them to do. So but just as a matter of policy, I like to diversify where I'm putting my data, and I like to diversify where I'm putting my money. So that I'm not buying everything from one company and ero- just reduced that diversity for me. I feel about this. I mean is this something that you feel is a privacy issue or potential one for for for Iraqi users now. Yeah. I think it definitely could be whether or not that will be different matter. But you know, what data they wouldn't get you know, like what data what way to make sure that they wouldn't get more data. It would be to not have Eero if they're going to have euro, they're going to have at least some amount of additional data. Right. And this makes me think of when Facebook was using a novel back in the day. It was a few years ago. And according to some people that helped them figure out that what sap was being super super popular. And it helped them decide that they should be paying a huge amount of money because it was being used so much more than Facebook messenger. When no one else read you had that information or maybe wasn't looking at it. So I don't know exactly. What information they're going to be able to extract from this? But I'm sure it's going to be more information than if they didn't have euros. So there is something that's going to be happening possibly. I do think the biggest reason Amazon buys Eero is for their smart home move. They want Eero to work with the Amazon echo. They wanted to work with ring they want they want to be able to integrate it. So that you have an easier smart home setup and providing a mesh network router that gives you better connectivity through your house is a way to do that. So there are certainly some positives with Amazon offering a mesh network in Eero is a great mesh network router. I love it. So I see why Amazon wanted to do it. And I see how it fits in in a way that they wouldn't need to violate privacy policies or Houston privacy policies to to make it worth their while. I think to make it clear I would suspect they didn't buy them to have that additional data. But they won't say no to it. If they can figure out a way of using it and extracting it, I I'm guess well, and that's going to be the thing. How how much? They resist that temptation, right? Yeah. Yeah. "Of equally privacy Centric alternatives, and because of their roots and apple engineering, and they're apparently like-minded commitment to privacy, some of those people settled on euro. And now they have Amazon it plays to all the fears of all the people about small companies you like and trust being eaten up by big companies. You may very well not like or trust and your data being only ever as protected as the next giant mega Corp that buys it out and takes over now, whether these feelings are reasonable or not will each have to decide for ourselves, but Amazon has had their share of privacy issues over the years. They've come under fire for considering the sale of their facial recognition software to law enforcement there echo devices have several times record, and even transmitted sense. Information including conversations and messages to unintended third parties and most recently ring doorbell contractors, another company bought by Amazon were accused of monitoring the cameras of their customers, essentially spying on them and just to cherry top that particular sentiment Sunday, some people already feel like Amazon creepy follows them around the internet always trying to sell up sell them on something. Now for their part Eero is saying it's privacy policy will stay intact under Amazon euro and Amazon take customer privacy, very seriously, and we will continue to protect it erode does not track customers internet activity and this policy will not change with the acquisition. The reason euro cuts particularly deep with privacy. First customers, though is because routers, at the edge of our homes and offices and the internet forget the north. They are the wall the primary layer of defense in depth where the packets leave our phones and tablets and computers and hit our internet service providers or vice versa. "Nine I'm Roger Chang and Johnny salesman phones have been in rougher while but that might change at NBC or expecting a huge number flagship phones to make a big splash the more poorly. We're hoping to see more innovative designs. We're talking about foldable phones. I had that scoop on LG coming with a second screen attachment or a what did you call? I got an appendage and appended. Were rumored to have in all screen device. With a pop out camera afford, eight megapixel popout camera. No kid, theoretically will show a phone with five cameras on the back, and we've already we've talked about multiple cameras five is not enough. I may not be enough. It's going to be wild. I mean, what do you think? Are you your Europe jaded customer of phones? Right. Like what what are you? What are you hoping to see from from one of these crazy designs are products? I want to know what the appendage actually looks like that's still a mistrial. My guess is. It's sort of a cover case. I think he'll like flip over it'll become it'll become the cover and you get your full down. You'll be to screen, right? My guess. Yeah. But we're not sure yet. I mean, it's cool that these countries are all taking risks with these feel like half you writing really boring, really boring. So you have to have like entire backs of phones that are camera arrays or niches. That's what you want right. Like twenty. Just like the idea there. I mean, we're getting close to it. I mean, if you looked at that leaked image. Seem like there were five cameras. Bill looked like there were like six or seven different right light sensors, or whatever, and it just sort of get there. What are you excited to say? I mean, it's it's an obvious answer. But the full phones are the most exciting thing to me like the concept video we shall me. The TS we got from Samsung. I mean, this stuff looks pretty legit. And I mean, I want actually buy one, but just actually using a phone with a foldable displays that it's nice taste of the future. It is. It's a mind bending concept. Exactly mine Gotch next up. Check out our own Scott, Stein's commentary on the phone SE. And why apple desperately needs to have one in its lineup. Now ultimately into no-brainer right phone prices of all gone up guy thought extra is the budget phone which and how much is that the seven fifty believes, and that's the cheapest alternative really folks again, the excess or sorry the tennis. And those are in the thousand dollar range and apple has cheaper alternative. But it means usually going to last year's phone, right? I ate I don't seven. So they've got the whole lineup there. If you want to save money, but you know, an iphone SE to not just the cheaper phone, but so the small phone which we had Alford on 'cause he's a big advocate of the small for his small hand. Right. As to actually I could appreciate it by a big advocate of smaller price tags though. Yes. Sure. Yes. I just got an iphone SE for my father a refurbished one. Because I get you one. Like, I definitely would if if there was a new one in the market, I absolutely apple suffering because of not having that lower ends element to its product as you said, you can get the other phone. But like if you're getting a new phone, you don't wanna get the older phone, exactly. So lastly, Amazon. Quired Eero a maker a wifi mesh wifi wifi mesh vices, mash wife, mesh wifi devices. These little simple white pucks. What me take us through? What does this mean firms on? Well, a an obviously means that Don wants to control every possible aspect of your home already control. The smart speaker market with the echo. They're going hard on smart, televisions and fire. Tv lineup fire. Tv lineup other. You know, well, clocks microwave, so it makes a lot of sense to have a presence in this popular up until now independent maker of kind of next gen Y, wifi, right routers. I will say as someone who does suffer from wifi connectivity issues from home like site for like my office like it's all kind of crappy. Elsewhere like a mesh. I have looked into these mesh wifi. There's only the only Google really the only other viable competitor, Google out euro or. Now, Amazon, right. What does that what do you? What does that mean? Well, I think one of the things that some people are raising as possible red flag is that now we're at the point where two behemoths kind of control the market for this kind of router and the one that's entering Amazon people already have misgivings about how much Amazon knows about them. Whether or not whatever your take is on how much they're gleaning about your conversations from an echo. This does mean that they have potentially access to everything you look up on your home wifi networks. So the for a company that trades in data on you. That's an interesting thing to consider. Ruby Rose Became Very Emotional After Landing The Role Of Batwoman

"Okay, well we told you yesterday about the new CW series featuring ruby rose is bat. Woman she talked about it last night on Jimmy Fallon. Show the reason I kept getting so emotional is because growing up watching. TV I never saw somebody on TV that I could identify with let alone a. Severe all right to that leads us to. This you, know we worked some odd hours here at the radio, station and sometimes it leads to some small. Mistakes so here's what happened. Yesterday when Marshall left the story on that bat woman for me on Orlando's news at, noon bat woman going for a new look on the CW test, one, two, one two No Actress ruby. Rose Marsha Taylor needs any six. Point five little, rough edit from. Marseille let let's get that back on. Here test, one two, one. Two How 'bout, that regrettably. Does not a one of us, in broadcasting that, doesn't have one. Of those similar moments we we all. Have a, moment, like, that And Marsha you have. A, lovely singing voice I had no idea Talented and I'm a. Little unclear, so, ruby rose, is a transgender or gender bender model I very very pretty face but I don't, know if, it's if it's. A boy. Or if it's a girl but. She I, don't wanna I'm trying I'm not. Trying to be insulting So you would say if I'm not mistaken has like a contract a, makeup contract, like for Revlon. Or something. It was like the first transgender Then, a woman and then has, a makeup contract like with Revlon, or something and then she's so she's going to be. The new bat, woman yeah and it's her alter. Ego which I. Believe is Kathy Kane. Karen Kain. She's, the one who will. Be the transgender I guess I I don't follow. DC, comics. Much, so marvel guy I'm a marvel guy all right well it's interesting to note thank you very much for that and lovely

"On money is coming right up but first let's take a look at the stories we're following at eight thirty a mass in recognition of all immigrants was held at the cathedral of our lady of the angels one parisian or at the immigration masses dreamer who gave her testimony she says the issue families being separated at the border is despicable it's very unfortunate this country that is based solely on immigrants and their labor is treating them ask second class citizens she says in the eyes of god and the church nobody is a second class citizen is a cuevas who oversees immigration affairs for the archdiocese agrees and says he hopes those who attended the mass feel empowered to take action not just with in politics but within the community and showcasing how we can be together in that journey with the immigrants one group that attended the special service walked from lake forest does way to stand in solidarity with immigrants and asylum seekers who often walk hundreds of miles to get to the us cooper rummell knx ten seventy newsradio president trump takes to twitter to double down on his eero tolerance policy toward illegal immigration he posted that illegal immigrants should be immediately deported without traditional process he tweeted in part we cannot allow all these people to invade our country he went on to say when somebody comes in we must immediately with no judges court cases bringing them back from where they came cbs legal analyst thane rosenbaum says the president appears to be overstepping his authority while it is true that immigration cases are handled by administrative law judges and not by state or federal courts that doesn't mean that aliens are not entitled to some due process nor does it mean that a president can ignore the law in override the administrative proceedings that handle such cases rosenbaum said it would require congressional cooperation or an executive order to enact automatic deportations hundreds of people gathered at a border crossing in texas they were protesting the separation of kids and the detention of migrant families cbs correspondent maria spoke with sharon mcmahon shane mcmahon rather a federal federal public defender on the immigration policy so when the president says at the stories of grief are over exaggerated at the border how do you contend with that.

"Uh obviously all the equipment that is being used as to be absolutely spotless because again you introduce a tiny impurity and you ruin a microchip or worse yet you might ruin an entire wafer which means all of the microchips that would have been produced on that wafer are a loss you'd you'd have to throw them out from the beginning until had to work on ways to design manager and imprint circuit layouts onto silicon and this continues to be an engineering challenge as companies like intel attempt to keep up with the observations gordon moore made decades ago the individual transistors are acting like switches so they either complete a circuit and allow electrons to move through or they break a circuit and they keep electrons from moving through and they're turned on and off by these devices called gates so agades either open or it's closed and that tells you go essentially that these microprocessors ultimately their job is traffic management they're managing the movement of electrons because they represent single pieces of information either as eero or a one off or an on a new or a yes and collectively when you get lots of these little pieces of information you can describe much more complex concepts than just on or off and that's where you get into the very basics of computer science so all of this these different components have to be etched onto the silicon and that's because in the later stages of manufacturing the individual elements the microprocessor have to be deposited on the way for that can be up to thirty layers of of material put onto a wafer before it becomes a chip.
