"Get it kind of guy. Yeah, so he has the size and the speed. And when he has the ball in his hands, it is something to behold. And I think if you were only drafting receivers based on what happens when they already have the ball in their hands, Quentin Johnson would not only be the unequivocal number one, he would be comparable to the players I talked about earlier from past classes. However, there are some questions about drops and pass catching consistency with him, so he's wanted that I think is probably one of the more interesting receivers in this class because he does have those unique measurables, but I think there are some teams who are wary just of the pure past catching ability. It's pretty wild as the game is transformed where wide receivers are more valuable than running backs. And we talked to Halle Grossman about running back prospect bijan Robinson from Texas and how this particular change is going to affect where he gets drafted. But I'm curious to get your perspective on what's changed in the whole running back wide receiver equation. How much time do you have? Because this is a whole other back end. I mean, go, just go as long as you want to go. Okay. So it's complicated, but I think it can best be summed up as this way. There are football reasons and there are financial ones why running backs are less likely to go in the first round, certainly high in the first round in the past. The football ones briefly, it's a passing league, teams are running the ball less. We have seen teams who take lower running backs later in the draft have success with those running backs notably recently the chiefs in the Super Bowl with Isaiah Pacheco versus Clyde Edwards hilar. They drafted in the first round as a pick, they'd probably have to like back. And while these first round running backs tend to produce early in their careers, the shelf life in the NFL is usually not that long, unfortunately. And then there's the financial aspect of it, George, which is one of the biggest draws of finding a star rookie in the draft, is you save a lot of money because their contracts are set. If you find a Justin Jefferson who can produce like a top ten receiver, the amount you're paying him compared to a Deandre Hopkins is exponential savings for you. However, if you find a star running back, you're not saving that much money. So you have to have a high degree of confidence in that running back, not a lot of needs and there aren't that many teams, I think, who fit the bill. I think bijan Robinson is an outlier here. And he's not just a traditional running bank. Like the dude is an offensive weapon when you watch him. He can line up in the slot. He makes incredible catches. I think he's a guy that can be Marshall faulk like with his production in the right situation. And I know that's going way back, but I think that's the type of player he can be where teams on him and could he be the guy that breaks that mold when it comes to running backs at least in this draft. Well, there is a lot of speculation about him going as high as 8 to Atlanta. Do I personally think that would be the right boo for falcons roster that has a lot of needs. I'll be honest, I don't. But I say that also believing that bees and Robinson is going to come in and be awesome. That's very early. In the NFL. And for me, George, a lot of, you know, I talked about whether teams have other needs, and I would also say how confident are you in the other guys, you'd be picking. That confidence falls off later in the first round, especially in this draft. And that's when I personally start to think it makes more sense if you're a team like, I don't know, Dallas picking in the 20s where you need a running back will come in, he'll be awesome, but also the guy you would be drafting him instead of, maybe the third best edge rusher, well, probably forced by then or whatever. You're not as confident about and I would feel better about taking Robinson there. All right, there's always a surprise on draft day. There's still been a lot of chatter about Aaron Rodgers future and when he's going to be a jet, if he's going to be a jet, what do you make about the potential of a move that swings the draft in a way like that where you have a veteran guy going somewhere like a Rogers? You know, it's funny, George is weird NFL live. We're talking about this, the potential for a Rogers trade to kind of Kool-Aid man style smash through the wall right before the draft. That's not the sound that I would be making. And it happened. The draft a couple of years ago in Cleveland was when the first day was when our Adam Schefter broke the story that Rogers wanted to be traded from Green Bay or that he was not happy in Green Bay rather. And that completely shattered that draft. So this would be the second draft that Aaron Rodgers has impacted, though, that last one wasn't of his own volition. I think it's possible. It's funny because this trade, this would be an inflection point in so far as it seems like the packers would want one of the jets second round picks this year to help Jordan love. And so there would be incentive for them to get it done earlier. There's incentive for the jets, obviously, to get this done as soon as possible so that they can start onboarding Rogers. But these two teams do seem to be at a standstill. Both sides need this to happen in a way. It feels a little bit like mutually short destruction. If it doesn't happen, but it's dragged on this long and the packers continue to push for more draft compensation, so I have no idea if it'll get done before the draft. "Well, Tony just cut out very solid because they went yeah, those three early running backs look good with Jonathan Taylor nausea Harris, Joe Mixon. See if the QBs can keep him afloat. His quarterbacks are tua. Marcus Mariota, Joe Flacco, teddy Bridgewater, Zach Wilson and Mike white. And man, I bet you he was pooping his pants when Zach Wilson went down. But he also was the teams that went very RB heavy. He had a he started off with Deandre Swiss. Cam Akers, Clyde Edwards hilar. Like those guys are starting in his lineup. And they're going to have to be a starter for a while. He has the youth and Garrett Wilson and he grabbed Kyle Pitts, so that was a great thing, I think. Mike Evans, the older player. And then how Pitts was his first pick, right? Yeah. Yeah, okay. I'm swift for a second. Yeah, so good luck, brother. There are more trades in this draft than any trap I've ever been a part of. Even if you look at our draft board, you can't even typically you can just go up and down. Well, you have to balance all over the place. Their last 7 games, they've scored 48, 34, 36, 34, 28, 42, 42. You don't even need to say the chiefs are back. Mahomes is at home in the playoff 7 to one. Against the spread 6 and two. You have the Bengals who barely be Vegas. I was never understand what David Carr spiked the ball. Or Derek Carr. Still Derek Carr, David Carr. I think the ball collective car family. They barely beat the tights barely in the Titans were awful. It was as big as the tides were awful. Lang of an egg of an offensive sidewalk because their defense was awesome. Their offense was horrendous, horrendous, couldn't block. So then in my head initially, I'm thinking, oh man, I watched Bengal's chief. That was a slugfest. Week 17, Bengals 34 chiefs 31. Game is in Cincinnati. No McKinnon in that game. No McKinnon no clot Edwards layer, either. No Edwards hilar in that game. Chiefs were up 14, blew it. Blew the lead. Bengals ran for 19 for 60. Chase had the 16th biggest wide receiver game of all time. In the third biggest in the last 5 years, 266 yards and three touchdowns. How often does that happen? He had 11 catches, he had 12 targets. He broke like a bubble screen for like 80, he had another one where they just chucked it and he just made this incredible play. So we have all of these things pointing to, yeah, the chiefs, the chiefs lost by three, but since they had their third and fourth street running backs, they blew a lead and chase had one of the great games of all time. And the Bengals still barely won by three. It's funny because that's the angle I have and I know Bengals fans would say, don't you dare dismiss the chiefs are playing for first. They're a great win. I'm with them with them. There was a play at the end of the first half that tyrek was wide open. They threw him the pass. It was in his hands, von bell, knocks it away, but if they catch that, it's a different deal. There's a play to Travis Kelce. I watched the game this week. There's a plate of this Kelsey. Big third down, he inexplicably drops it. There's a strange third in 27 play call from the chiefs. And then the craziest thing was it was fourth and 6, and they're going back and forth and they're on the Cincinnati 45 and Andy of all people decides to punt it away and then the Bengals came right back and scored. You have to think that, okay, 266 yards and three touchdowns from Jamar chase is what it took to beat us. Let's hold them to 200 this week. Or let's hold them to one 50 and we win this game, especially in arrowhead. I think Joe burrows quote was taken a little bit out of context, but he basically said it's loud and a lot of SEC stadiums. Whether it was whether it was out of context or not because he was showing respect to him. I know those chiefs fans. I know those chiefs message boards, and I know they hear that, and they're like, oh, that's a challenge. Let's do this thing. I could see this one being one of those deals where Cincinnati, awesome miracle season, Joe burrows doing things no quarterback has ever done as far as going right from college to right to an AFC championship game to possibly right to a Super Bowl. But I think this might be too big a hill to climb. And also this is already been an awesome season for them. It's a little reminiscent to the bills getting there. A couple years ago. The browns last year and said, wow, that was great. Congrats, brands. You really, you've really built something for the I just can't see, I can't say them beating the chiefs twice in four weeks. Now, you could say the same about niners rams, but I just think the chiefs, I think last week was the AFC title game. I hate putting it that way because it's not fair to the Bengals, but it might have been the Super Bowl Bill. Those two team. And that's the thing. It's like the chiefs, what's the account? It's like a cockroach, I guess, but like, you knew at 13 seconds, you knew that wasn't over. 13. I lived through with the paths that one year. So you know the 20. What happened? I thought we won the game. We took the lead with 39 seconds left. You know, the reaction the next day was like, what a crazy thing. I'm like, that's the chiefs. And I know everyone wanted to change the overtime rules, but you need to protect against that because it's all he needs. And yes, Leslie Frazier called the wrong defense. And sure they could have done a squib kick. But that's the danger of betting against the chiefs at any point in these playoff games. Mahomes has lost one game at home. It was to Brady. He's lost one other game. It was a Super Bowl in Tampa in Brady's building. He's never lost to a quarterback other than Brady in the playoffs. And we've been betting on him for the last two years. Bill, he's never let us astray. I don't want to jinx him, but moms is never done us wrong. We've been betting on him, and he wins just about every time. Even last week, I was leaning toward the bills. And you came in hot with the chiefs when we talked before the pod. And I was like, yeah, what am I doing? And at that whole game, I was never I never regretted betting on the chiefs. Even when the bills took the lead and it was like, all right, I lost but Josh Allen was just superhuman. I think they're going to be all right. I know we're running out of teaser games, but money line. No money line it. You can money line it with the bucks. Yeah, that's true. You know, if the niners win this and the bucks win, you know, it's at stake, right? The niners win in the bucks, what is that? It's Brady going and it's the second wife. Oh, right. Yeah, why? Of course, just from a storyline standpoint, like Seth wickersham, get those fingers ready for your Brady, Jimmy G story, because this is the first wife second wife battle. And by the way, not inconceivable, this is Brady's last game. I keep telling people this. Is that right, you think so? I don't think everything's on the table after this season for him. He said ten more years. You're not even gonna give him one? I think everything's on the table. I do. All shitty meals are on the table. Yeah. Every game could be his last. But I mean, it still looks great. He looked good today. All right, Sunday. So that LA or Arizona at Tampa Bay is the early one. That's it. We'll guess that last. Well, let's guess the chief spells because we know that's happening. Chief spells. Romo, mahomes. Josh Allen. Buffalo. Never won a Super Bowl. Incredible journey. A lot of heartache. Home field that worth quite as much as it used to be. I think these teams are dead even in a dead even to me now means minus two and a half. And that's what I'm going with chiefs by two and a half. You nailed it and it really did nail it. I said three. It's two and a half. In the old days, it's three. Now it's two and a half. Well, here's the other thing I'll say. So the better set, there are low limits for Sunday Night and Monday. So they could get away with making it two and a half if there's a bunch of chiefs love out there. They could the oddsmakers could put it out there just to see where the movement is. If it's two and a half by Sunday or Saturday, that's a different story. But I would have given it the full three. That's a little bit disrespectful for that chiefs team. We took a minute to get going last. Tonight. Certainly, certainly an enticing number for them. I'll tell you Jared McKinnon, I think, is a big difference for them. Right. You could feel it in that week 18 game. You could see it. We talked about it on Thursday's podcast here that he gives them a toughness and a little pizzazz that I don't think any of their other running backs give them. And he can run and catch. Great, which is huge. And look, what are we talking about the chiefs? They can't kill the clock, right? So they need a runner, and Edwards lair in and out, whatever every week it's a different story. Yeah, McKinnon's nice, 12 carries 61 yards, and then took it for another 81 through the air. The only thing is, he's so small. You seem like the chiefs got hit almost late at a bounds about 7 times. Right. Still just lower. He goes flying across the three rows into the bench there. So I worry about it. Making it to the finish line. Delhi need three more games from him. Right. Edwards hilar comes back next week. I think that line stays at two and a half. Really? I don't think they want that to go to three, especially because then you could start adjusting the line taking the bills to four, four and a half stuff like that if you wanted to get frisky. All right, so great game. I'm so excited. I wish I wish they split them up, but what are you gonna do? I thought Romo is fantastic today. Yeah. I think he had a pretty spotty regular season, especially like in the games that just weren't good games. I think the one thing he encouraged us always points us out. The thing that made that and so great was he was great in the shitty games. You know, he was great in the games that it's like 38 to ten. Right. And Romo is really good in the good game still, which is the most important quality, but I thought I thought he was dead on today 90 different times, pointing out like, oh, they're doing this, that slant's gonna be open theirs is lamb gonna see it and I just really I felt like I was just locked into that game. The charges are good. They look really good in awesome dude but also the chiefs look bad. Look bad if you read the article you would see that. I asked if the chiefs have a serious problem before this game. They're going to have a tough time against the bills. And while i was writing them like Let's come back to bite me if they if they finally click here but they do a lot. And i've also talked about. I think i do. I have this on here. I think one of my game reviews was going to be the bills chiefs. But if you watch that game it it looked like the chiefs looked so sluggish. If you've watched the chiefs this whole year what they do their defense sucks. They're like they're probably the worst defense in the league. I feel like them in. Seattle are on the lead evans. Seattle are up there. Like they're they're fighting and then like If you the combination of the chiefs this is why they're doing bad is because patrick they figure them out. You can't have a team and this is kind of like i'm pulling back the packers 'cause you know they're i feel they're the biggest example of this if a team if you know a team's only gonna pass the ball you just drop back like every person and just rush to like especially if you have great rushers eka just rush two or three and have hoped to have that. But you're going to force a quarterback to try to make plays and if you just know that you can't win a team you have to keep the fair. Let a defense. They're definitely but we've already known chiefs her only pass team and the torch you over the past. I mean you look at. I thought edwards hilar- was gonna take a huge step forward this year. I thought he was going to be awesome. Took a huge step back where he dominated the bills last. Remember and lewis good game in this game. He ever listened to yards a carry. Their leading rusher was mahomes by a significant margin and there are a couple teams who can win with their leading rusher being their quarterback the chiefs are not one of them. Yeah we will get into that. But it was patrick mahomes. He looks like he's in. This is the thing with these new quarterbacks. Like an all talk about this. With the mar- these new quarterbacks are looking for the trendy thing they're looking for it to be trendy and patrick mahomes trying to look for new sidearm pass. He's making these huge risks. Which now. I think he's just aggressive..

"Giants should it be them. I thought played outplayed them at a still. Don't know how they lost. And then you have the bills two weeks of. What's wrong with josh allen. What's going with these guys. Nothing watch this kind of game right. I agree with you. And i think the bills defense had a statement quietly last week against the dolphins. I know everyone's like oh well to was out percents. Not that big a drop off from to and the bills defense was destroying him. They got this rookie gregory russo. Who has taken at the end of the first round had five tackles two sacks and he was flyleaf as an. Aj epinay is on. The other side was coming in their like their pass rushes significantly better. I don't know what taylor heinecke is on the road. He had that home playoff game obviously took care business enough for he gets to stick around and then the first two weeks on the season. They've been home games for them. This is the first taylor. Heineke real washington quarterback game on the road going into a hostile environment. And i think you're right. It's not only the players that are like wait. We stubbed our week one. I think these fans are ready to explode again. It'd be like mineral. we gotta redo here. Let us let us now our home now in their building and i think i think this could be ugly. I think the bills take care of business in you. Have week one. They're playing pittsburgh. Pittsburgh spends the summer planning for a specific way to surprise buffalo. And do whatever the week. The miami game was weird. They got they broke a fifty yard play early. Let's argue about this one. Because i think we feel differently. I watched that entire vikings game. Because that we had the vikings cards we had the big tv gusts in a key. Kyle and i I was kind of impressed by the vikes great. I thought offensively the economy. We're able to do whatever they want to cook was dominant at times. They have multiple receivers. I'm afraid of cousins. Looked really good. He had time to throw Any when they needed drive at the end of the game and they needed to put themselves in position for game winning field goal. I thought they're going down the field and get yards and they did they. Have i think over eight almost nine hundred yards in two gains. They big plays. They can run and pass and you know yet. Their home in a must-win game their owen to against the seahawks team that honestly. I wasn't impressed by last week in that game. No it huge lead at home and they couldn't put them away they can stop the run offensively. I don't know what's going on with them but they had twenty four points basically at halftime. And then think nine the rest of the way or whatever it was. And i just like i'd love that i feel like i'm getting points that i shouldn't be getting. I think this game should be a pickle device plus two and a half. they're back at home. They haven't been there yet. They've lost in two freakish ways. The dalvin cook fumble in cincinnati. They probably could have won that game if he held on and they converted one more i down and last week was an inexplicable loss. But then you look at the numbers. And sadly for mike zimmer teams of late they are becoming more and more explicable They're a win to start the season and they've given up now four hundred total yards and scored more than twenty four points in both games. They're one of only three teams in. Nfl history to do that. The patriots the eighty nine redskins. And you'd say oh my. Gosh that's a weird stat. They have now lost six games the last two years where they score twenty four points put up four hundred yards and they still have lost six of those games. Their defense is atrocious. They have allowed twenty four points in the last nine games. They've played and russell wilson owns this team. He seven. oh all time. He owns zimmer he owns those guys were drafted the same year russell. a third Forgot about whatever reason russell just completely dominates this team. I don't see seattle. Losing two straight games especially the way they lost last week after having that giant lead and giving that one up against the titans. I got seattle. Minnesota's plus four fifty to win the division from what i've seen in the packers those first two weeks that is not a division champ and it might just be a division that has good teams but like you mentioned the coaching stuff. Heidi you play golf and not puts an entire half. How do you look as bad as you looked in week. One in the rogers thing. And then rogers comes out and makes everybody else fo- bad as i don't where you like. You've created soap opera. And you guys sucked in week one. Of course we're going to talk about it. And you know congratulations. You gave the ball. Aaron jones against bad team. And you look at it. But i don't trust that team i down seventeen fourteen at the half and they won obviously and i think a lot of people maybe didn't watch the game because the next morning it was like. Oh packers back. I'm like well there. Were some definitely defense. And it wasn't like they were lights out on offense either but some minnesota the over under was eight and a half this year. They play the seahawks this week in the browns at home next week. I don't like it bill. So you're out. you're out on the vikings. I don't know if i was ever in on the vikings i. You gotta play defense in this league and we'll let me ask you this coach. Let me ask you this. What's the difference in the vikings in the cowboys. Do fair it's fair voyeurs and through the same fucking team. They have a really good running back situation. They have multiple receivers. Who can make play plays and a quarterback who puts up stats that. I'm still not totally sold on. If it's january. I'm not sold on either of those teams though like and maybe you are at the cowboys and i like just neither of those teams. Do much for me. So vikings eight wins. I don't think that i don't see the yes. They've lost in freakish ways the last two weeks but good teams. Don't lose and freakish ways to in a row so fi. Tease the vikings to plus eight and a half year. Still not.

I in the interesting thing about the chiefs is like the not that the browns played them the same way defensively but i think since the super bowl i have seen them less as as an offense and more of just a collection of playmakers in a coach who kind of understands how to isolate them and i think that there's a big difference between those two things even though one is a big part of the other and that's what's been interesting about this is that kansas city is still winning on the strength of you know travis kelsey getting the ball and space and being able to move the ball up field and it's not necessarily i think part of this bigger Fluid picture and you know i. I'm not saying this is the end of the chiefs dynasty. Andy reid is one of the most. Brilliant schematic minds and football. But i think we're nearing the end of the chiefs kind of being able to just beat up on teams like you would and this is like a crude analogy but like as you would like almost in like a flag football game right where it's like. Our guys are faster than your guys deal with it. you know. And i think that we're we're maybe perhaps nearing the end of that whereas teams aren't really able to slow them down. But i think that their ability to do that is just going dwindle as this. They're rare collection of skill position. Players gets older think what was a notable too about the ravens. Defensive performance is that they had a lot of players. Step up into roles that you know. We hadn't seen before that are new in these roles. Right cornerback marcus. Peters is out for the season. Jimmy smith is out. And we have this fantastic pass break-up on third down with anthony averitt covering tyreek hill that's an incredibly difficult assignment. That we see corner struggle with regularly and breaks up the past and then we also see not the most decisive play of the game but the second most decisive game play. Dafa away strips the ball from clyde edwards hilar- and recovers it and that was a player when going into the draft. You always heard he had trouble. Finishing plays at penn state. But i think the ravens understood correctly so that there are some players that don't finish plays and then there are some players. I just don't have the numbers. I think he's one of those guys that can finish plays but just didn't have the sack numbers at penn state and so those were two examples. I think of how you defend the chiefs even when you've had roster that's been ravaged by injury. It's interesting where you know. Two hundred and fifty one yards rushing on many of those came in the first-half even even when they had the lead but I just think this is the team right. You're gonna start every week being that they're going to be the top performers every single week. I mean i really just don't see hardman robinson pringle I really don't see them. You know outperforming. These guys daily well. I'm mahomes obviously because mahomes gonna you know be throwing the ball to them. But i don't see those guys outperforming kelsey and hill every single week. I mean we'll see what happens as we go throughout the season but for the most part it's going to be the tyreek hill travis. Kelsey show edward solaire. I mean he did okay but you know. There's a lot of talk about him just because he's not a power back and you know really just i mean he's okay. I think we. I think the cheese should do is try to implement more of their running backs with mckinnon. And daryl williams. I think those guys are gonna see more playing time edwards hilar- struggles because the only forty three yards rushing only at twenty nine yards receiving. I mean that's really not gonna do it but the chiefs just loved to throw the ball. Mahomes threw the ball thirty times. I mean he had that incredible. Seventy five yard touchdown tyreek hill. Mahomes is insane and the browns played really good too. And if it wasn't for their punter messing up they probably win this game but you know of course. That's what happens but that was a fantastic game and you don't want if you look at the browns. Baker mayfield is a guy that if he's available try to get him as a backup Jarvis landry had a good game and let's see what they do in odell beckham comes back because he did not playing this game. But i mean that's what happens. Browns line is insane. The running game is good. The browns are going to be a good team and they they are going to fight for that division. I think they are going to win. That division baker mayfield. I think could be a top. Could be close to a top ten fancy quarterback this year. "You know. i think. They're both defenses. I don't really. I wouldn't start both defenses. I mean the packers you could. I guess because really outside of kamara i mean. Who else is on this offense. That really scares you. A marquis cow is going to be the number one wide receiver and he played very well in the preseason game against jacksonville but how is he going to play. You know when these games actually mean something. I don't know. He is on the bench ease on my bench and one of my leagues. I'm not going to start him. Wanna wait to see how he actually does in real game so you know i think you do start mair of course and james i think could put up some points but i don't really see anybody on the saints going off. I think i could see davante adams going off because he he actually didn't playing the game last year when these teams men rogers had a fantastic game last year against the saints kamera did very well against the packers in that game too so i expect the big boys to do very well. Kamara rogers diamante. Those guys are gonna do well. But i think outside of that. It's kind of a lot of question marks. i think james is probably the best performer at of the other is because he is the quarterback and he's going to have to match what aaron rodgers does. Because rogers is going to have a good game. I really believe that but the one thing you got to think about. His rogers hasn't really played well in florida. And now they're gonna be playing in florida for this game so that's gonna be something interesting to keep in mind for this game but i still think he has a good performance so moving onto the next game and the final four o'clock game miss any no. I did not okay. So the final four o'clock game for twenty-five browns at the chiefs and yeah. I don't think you should start any defense in this game. I think that nick saban kareem hunt have good games. I think baker has a decent game the wide receivers. i'd like jarvis. Landry was a guy that i think. A lot of people put a lot of faith in to add them to your address them to their teams and he just really ease inconsistent. Oto beckham junior also very inconsistent. I think they will have their good games. But they're very inconsistent. And you know. I think they'll do okay in this game but i don't really think you should start them unless you know very at certain positions in you know you're playing in a deep league then maybe you start back them and maybe you start landry but i think the running backs chubb cream on. I think they do well. I think baker does well in this game and then on the other side i mean. Of course. I think patrick mahomes going to have a great game here. Kelsey tyreek hill. I think those guys have big games. As i know the i kept saying how. The browns defense is going to be much better this year with some of the additions. The defensive backs they got over from the rams and also today beyond clowney coming over in a low risk reward signing. But i don't think this is the week where the browns defense gets going now. I think this could be a very high scoring game very close game because the browns really played the chiefs tough last year in the wildcard game. Sorry in the divisional game and definitely think that can happen here again. So i think bakers positive play running backs or positive play and of course you know on the other side with chiefs the big guys now. It's going to be interesting like some of the other guys. Hardman edward solaire. I mean really got to see how these guys do. Because you know edward solaire. There's a lot of controversy with him. Because you know. I've listened to a lotta people. Say how you know not a power back which he's not and you know yet the other side people saying well that she's got an improved offensive line. Probably one of the best aligns football. Now he's going to do a lot better but you still have people saying he's not a power bag. He's going to do well so we're really going to get to see what he does because now he is the guy okay. Levy on bell is brought in edward. Solaire kinda you know took away carries from him and leave you on really wasn't a factor when i don't know for me i'm like in different. I think edwards hilarious okay. I don't think he's bad. I think he's definitely shown flashes but the guy is pretty small and he's not a power back but i definitely think you can involve them in the passing game and i and i do think he could be a weapon for this team and be a weapon for you and fantasy but you got. You had to have gotten him at the right time you know. You can't have him as your number two running back. I don't think he's number two running back. I definitely think he's a number three again. All depends on the kind of league. You're playing in but if you're playing in those eight ten team leagues the guy is probably going to be a running back three for your team and you probably start them at your flex spot you know. And they do. Have daryl williams there. They do have jerry mckinnon and if edwards hilar- doesn't produce those guys can get more of an opportunity but the other thing is this the chiefs throw the football. They don't run the football now. Like the ravens okay. They throw the football. So even if it were to larry's ineffective runner it's not really gonna matter because the chiefs are going to be throwing the football. That's what they love to do. And that's what they will continue to do all throughout this season so i think really the most positive plays in this game. Are the two running backs from cleveland. Okay because they are going to split carries and it's gonna be good enough where you could start both of them in your line of at the same time. I believe baker mayfield. I think has a good game here. And i think he's going to spread the ball around the watt. So i don't really think any of the receivers are going to stand out particularly in this game and then on the other side. I think mahomes does great. I think kelsey does great entirely gildas great. I mean there's really no surprise there but you know that's what i believe. So yeah So that's it. What the four o'clock game. So let's get into the sunday night football game between the chicago bears and the la rams so the bears looking at them. I guess alan robinson. I think is probably the best play in this game. I think david montgomery is gonna struggle in this game. I don't know. I mean mooney mooney could do all right. But i don't really think you wanna start him. I think you want to wait and see what he does A lot of people changing breakout season. I hope he does 'cause i did. Draft him one of my dynasty leagues. But i feel like for right now again. I'm going to keep repeating myself. Depending on how deep your league is than you probably start him but As of right. Now i think allen robinson is the best place for this game andy dalton is going up against a really good defense in the rams so i think he's gonna struggle a little bit in this game. "Is trending up. I guess that's just because of the fact that they are playing the texans this week. I don't expect the texas be very good. Okay tyrod taylor. I talked about it multiple times already last year. In one game with the chargers with keenan allen. With ecu- with hunter. Henry with mike williams. This guy only put up thirteen points with that offense that's unacceptable. This is a guy that got benched. For nathan peterman got benched. Baker mayfield got benched while the bills traded him away in drafted josh allen. They benched him for baker mayfield and then he was. You know he missed the game against the chiefs because you know the trainers the doctors. Whoever injected an injection into his long and he couldn't breathe and then they ended up. Benching him for just ann arbor. So this guy just has had the worst luck in the world and you know it's unfortunate and maybe it will work out houston. I don't think it will. Because the texans are just not good so yeah and then you got other guys like james white. He's trending up as well. And i think that's due to the fact that sony michelle is not on the team anymore. So james white's going to see the field a little bit more. Maybe you know. Maybe you'll see two running backs on the field at the same time in because he is a reliable receiving back and you know. I think he's really not going to be a guy that's going to you know. Give you a ton of fantasy value but do think if the patriots do suffer a little bit of injuries you know. His value does go up. Robbie gold is He's trending up as well and that's because he's playing the lions this week in the forty niners. I think are expected to blow out the lines this week and i think robbie gold will get a ton of opportunities to get points for himself and you know if he's available to you and maybe your kicker is you know not good or is hurt somehow already you know maybe you get robbie gold because he has a favorable matchup adam. Humphreys is another guy. He's trending up as well going up against the chargers. I mean i guess that's due to the fact that curtis samuel he is questionable as right now and it doesn't look like he's going to play on sunday so you know if you're desperate the wide receiver spot Curtis samuel maybe you go out and you pick up adam. Humphreys tied johnson. Another guy. well definitely looked good in preseason. Maybe you can take over the lead running back. Role there Obviously they got michael. Carter and tevin coleman. But he's been up for awhile. Mad gay going up against the bears i think. They're you know sleeper. I guess is expecting that. The rams are going to really give it to the bears and put up a lot of points sterling. Shepard trending up against the broncos. I mean i guess because the better corners will be going up against golic if he plays and daniel jones's sterling. Shepard do have a strong connection. So i guess maybe that's why they have it this way. They also got to chargers that are trending up donald parr ham the tight end for the chargers and also larry ru tree. I guess that's because again Injury i guess par him you know. Maybe he's a guy that's been doing well for the chargers. And maybe they're going to give him more of an opportunity tyrone williams he is going to be a trending up for the lions year as well and that's because he is the number wide receiver essentially for the lions and. Yeah he's really to be one of the main weapons. That you know jared goff going to be throwing too because the lions really don't have a ton of weapons on this team and he could definitely be that and he was a good guy with the With the raiders when he was a number one wide receiver them and he was good with the chargers. And you know what maybe you know coming off. An injury might take a little bit of time. And maybe he'll producer them jamison crowder. Another other guy trending up for the jets and you know he's been a nice receiver for them does have a shot to play because he's dealing with an illness. I think he got put. It was diagnosed with kovic. So you know he has a chance to play. It says so. We'll see what happens with that. I think he does have a little bit of a favorable match. Going up against the panthers and could be one of zach. Wilson's top targets daryl williams. He's trending up against the browns. And i think that's because of the injury with edwards hilar- whether he's gonna play or not You know the chiefs are not really going to be running the football a ton. So i don't really think there's a lot of value when it comes to you know those running backs i think edwards hilar- you can't draft but you've got to draft him at the right time you know because chiefs love to throw the football so then coleman's another guy who is trending up and you know he's going to be fighting with michael carter for you know lead running back role while actually ty johnson as well. That's basically going to be the running back committee for the jets. And i think they do have a favorable matchup going up against carolina in week. One jamal williams trending up against the forty niners. And that's because of the uncertainty with the andrea swift. Even though he is on track to play week one but there could always be a setback or something that prevents that also russell gauge trending up against philli. That's an encouraging matchup. If you're dealing with injuries or something he's available maybe you plug them into your lineup. 'cause phillies defense is not going to be that good this year at least in the secondary marquis. Calloway trending up against green bay. Really the main weapon on this saints offense outside of alvin kamara. So maybe he's the guy who potentially want to start. Though a lot of people are saying you probably set him because the packers are a good pass defense at least not in the nfc championship game. Because you know they were not very good there. kevin king. So yeah. he's another guy that's trending up and then also chris conley is trending up as well. I guess due to the fact that it's somewhat of a favorable matchup going up against jacksonville. So let's move onto the guys that are trending down so gus edwards. He's trending down and that's of course because of the fact that he tours. Acl in practice going to miss the entire nfl season and listen. I really was hoping that he would be good for the ravens and fill in the void for jacob dobbins in one of my dynasty leagues. But that is not the case. And now it's going to be up to lady on bell and tyson williams to fill in the void in his absence. So also latavius latavius. Murray was trending up. I don't understand why. In which is a given the quarterbacks our primary focus always in our discussions this sunday a It is fascinating to me that this an almost the entire for me and i don't doubt that i'm alone. The entire interest is about charting the the the performance of countless quarterbacks whether their tv buys who have moved teams such as stafford or and darnold or just the cookie crop. Or or the what. Ben roethlisberger got left and on. You mentioned winsome now more than ever before that question about banning tobacco. I am the answer. He has nothing left. A mike to answer to your question about the green bay game. I really think that you're not even gonna notice. Any difference about aaron rodgers. green bay packers. Once they start playing football aaron rodgers is is absolutely best at playing football and absolutely terrible at talking about it or ruminating about it or philosophising about it. It's been painful to watch. Aaron rodgers in the off season make these these cryptic kinds of comments and moves and stay out of camp and and be off in hawaii with actors. And it's just as a sports fan you go. You just want to say get back on the field because when he is on the field he's total concentration and i don't think you're gonna see any difference with bay. I think they're gonna come out of the gate strong. I think they're going to win. This game against new orleans start fast and they're gonna win their division easily. There's there's nobody nobody in that division. Who should challenge them and and we're not going to be talking about. Aaron rodgers is off season until we start getting halfway through the season. Hey by the way the way that the chiefs after what happened to them in the super bowl i believe are starting new guys at every position on the offensive line so that bears watching okay. They have done a lot of mixing and matching because what we found out in the super bowl. Is that if you can't protect your quarterback. It doesn't matter if that quarterback is patrick mahomes. Because to me. I still think back on that game guys and it was stunning watching mahomes from the jump running for his life in that football game run running like he wanted to run across the bridge to saint petersburg and they have now they have reconfigured that offensive line and it will be interesting to see especially early in the season if it does mesh as a cohesive unit. Let me remind people in case. It's been awhile since you remember that super bowl or that playoff run. Some of these names that start on offense for the kansas city chiefs. They are a fan fantastic team. I haven't even gone onto the defense yet. And they were eclipsed in terms of conversation memory because of the incredible thing. The tom brady deal with the tampa bay bucks and deservedly so that was a hell of a story and it kind of blanketed the success of the kansas city chiefs but Lightning rarely strikes twice. How many back to back super bowl champs have we had mike in in recent years not a whole heck of a lot that the patriots the patriots were with the last one. No wait no. The patriots came back from losing to the eagles and beat the rams next year. I don't think we've had back to back super bowl winners since. What bobby didn't the the nature patriots in the early part of the century. Right four or five and there's one other thing to talk about something. I just referenced. How rarely and is great and loaded as the chiefs. Look how rarely the losing team in the super bowl goes back to the super bowl the next year. It's the only time it's happened. That so i just feel i feel like my roster is complete because i have what many people consider to be grizz wide receiver. You guys have like just fantasy players that make you. Feel better about your. I don't know if julio jones is going to be good. I have. I honestly have no idea. I know having him makes me feel. Better about my. It's weird one. The problem with that blueprint is a it revolves around and all sorts of line being completely barren essentially it revolves around things. We already knew like it is so funny to me. I mean you're not gonna patrick mahomes. It's highly unlikely that he's going to average like six yards per attempt and you're gonna force like four three and outs against them to me. It's more about all. Where can you steal a possession work and you steal point so to me. I would dare them run the ball. You know the bills. I think it was last year. That regular season game right. We're clyde edwards hilar- went off on the bills and the bills lost. But i was like great approach if you can foresee andy reid to hand to get the ball. Yes they can but when you're putting together that many plays there's always that chance that you have a false start that the left tackle get speed on that one. Play that you get a deflection. At the line of scrimmage. And so. I think that's the approach is not always going to work. I mean you can say that. And then all of a sudden they string together six ten play drives and forty two points on the board. And you say well. That was a stupid strategy. But it's still the only way to play to try to take away. Those big plays from tyreek hill and travis kelsey. Of course way way way. Easier said than done okay. So i'm gonna get you guys outta here on a big broad question if you gotta take your salary embedded on the chiefs. Afc or the field. You are taking you. I'm taking the cheese. May i usually like to do the math on this. I wanted to like get my calculator out. Look at the biggest lines wait. Is this stupid or not. But i guess. I'll just go with gut react reactions. Like nfl coaches on four. Just my gut said i would rather just have the chiefs. I mean it's like marcel. Said they are if mahomes is healthy there as much of a lock as there is to be playing on championship weekend. And they're you're one game away so i don't think you can say that really about any other team. You're just banking on the quarterback staying healthy and that's the case for every other team. So i will take the chiefs over the field marcel. You gotta buy you gotta by miami condo down there you gotta do it sound. Puerto real estate price big decisions. Anybody but say. "Still don't think judging by what i saw in the preseason. I think they're still gonna be the same defense. So i think the chiefs are going to expect that they're going to put up a ton of points. It's favorable across the board. I think edwards hilarie has his best game of year against this team. If not i. Think against the raiders. But yeah so that's my thoughts on offense defense. Probably look for other options because the cowboys offense if is healthy they're gonna put up a lot of points and this year. This game could be good if the cowboys defense is like decent. If they're able to like keep a close. This could be a very good game. Lot of points can be scored in this game though because these are too high powered offenses so week twelve. They have a bye week so the moving onto week thirteen they take on. The broncos needs is a favorable match again. They know this team. While broncos defense should be improved but overall i think the chiefs will be able to move the ball. Kelsey hill mahomes. They'll have good games. Edwards hilar- might struggle a little bit and then on the other side. I mean i guess it depends on how the quarterback position is for the broncos if you know teddy bridgewater drew lock taper towards the starter but it could be drew lock at some point so if quarterback position is not good for not going well for the broncos than maybe you do start the chiefs defense that week so then moving onto week fourteen. They take on the raiders again. Basically the same thing. She's gonna put up points raiders in. We'll see what happens. I mean last year they did well in arrowhead but the previous two years they got they got smoked in every game that they played arrowhead last. Like what before last year the prior two years they were getting killed in arrowhead. So we'll see what happens but I think the raiders. They kind of turned the corner. The chief so maybe the you know they do. But i don't think you could go wrong with during the chiefs defense if you do. So then. After that we fifteen they go to la to take on the chargers and last time these two teams men now lay. That was herbert's for start. I think the cheese who still put up a lot of points. I think her puts points. So you probably look for other options when it comes to the defense chiefs have good game. It's a favorable match of their for the chiefs offense week. Sixteen they take on the steelers. I mean we gotta see other steelers defenses. Because last year they got banged up. If the steelers defense is healthy they definitely will contain the chiefs offense to an extent. But if it's not healthy then they're they're in big trouble so i'm gonna say you know it's a middle of the road for the chiefs as of right. Now if the steelers defenses banged up then my my My opinion changes. But that's my thoughts on that. I still think they'll do well. Offensively running games probably in struggle then on the other side you get the chiefs defense. Going up against the steelers offense as if ben is playing well. The offense holds up of nargis. Having a great year in these receivers are dropping passes. I think maybe look for other options. But i said that you know ben. Could you know wear down towards the end of the season. But we'll see what happens. I think that you know depending on how the steelers offense is playing that late in the year that will probably determine whether or not you start the chiefs defense so then after that. They play the bengals they go to cincinnati. I think that's a fair will match up for the chiefs. A bengals defense is not that good. I think they will exploit that. And i think solid games all around for basically all the players on the chiefs. Mahomes calc- hill even edwards hilar- maybe hardman robinson have good games and the defense i mean i guess it depends on the bengals offensive line at the offensive line's not good. She'll take advantage of that so they could be positive play but i'd probably lean towards not starting them that we just because i think the bengals they will have a pretty good offense if the offensive line holds up and joe boroughs healthy. They take on the broncos week eighteen and at that point fantasies are over. But you know kind of the same thing as the first match up you know. I think the chiefs visual ponant. They'll put up points. Their main guys will have good games. And then on the other side and really all depends on the broncos quarterback position how they're playing whether or not you start chiefs defense or not so. "And we're back here on the gsm see fantasy football podcast for the second segment of today's show. We're gonna talk about the injuries that happened over the course of the last week and a half and talk about how that impacts your fantasy team your draft strategy and stuff like that so. Let's get into some of these injuries. So i'm looking at the sleeper app. Which is one of the fantasy football sites. It's like the new the newest one. I guess I've i've done now to drafts on it. My to dynasty drafts. And i'm going to be doing one of my other leagues on there as well and i'm looking at it because in my week one matchup. I'm playing my friend. And he's got a bunch of questionable ables in his lineup. Somebody go through each one and talk about the significance of that. So one of them is clyde would solaire so he suffered an ankle sprain. He likely avoided ohio constrain. As i'm looking at the description which is good. This is the running back for the kansas city chiefs and a lot of people are very high on a and one of the things i noticed in the preseason game i didn't talk about the chiefs and the cardinals preseason game what i noticed is that the chiefs were trying to run the football a lot. That's one of the things i notice. And you know what. I feel like with the offensive line of the chiefs. I feel like the running game could definitely be successful because of the changes that they made in the additions that they made. I think the offensive line was definitely addressed in the off season by the chiefs and it was their biggest weakness in the super bowl. You saw that. I saw it. You know from first. Snap of the game when homes running for his life early. I knew that this was gonna be a long game and the cheaper going to struggle and they did they really did struggle and i felt like if they ran the ball a little bit more. Maybe it would have been a different outcome but they did. And and here we are but edward solaire is a guy that a lot of people are very high on with the people that i do. Drafting with for the most part they. They're not as high edwardsville solaire as a lot of these other people take talk. I see a bunch of people saying how high they are on clyde edward solaire and then i talked to my friends and then like don't think he's that good at all really and i'm kind of in the middle because he isn't a power back. Okay that i understand you know. My friends was talking about how he's gotten stopped at the goal line. And but i just look at the offensive line for the chiefs. And i just feel like that can definitely help edward solaire in the running game and i don't know i'm kind of in the middle without but edwards hilar- being injured. I think he definitely will know i already. His fancy stock. I think was lower than it was last year. But i i definitely do think that he's a guy that maybe you wanna wait on. Don't reach on him especially if he's not ready for the regular season people are drafting him in the third fourth round. I feel like he can definitely go later than that. Just because the listen. The chiefs loved to throw the ball. That's really the main reason why you know. Drafting a running back on the chiefs as a little questionable is because the chiefs throw the football. That's what they love to do. They loved their own. at deep. you know homes store and a calc- of course you know running the is like the second fiddle to the passing game for the chiefs. So that's another reason why you know. Maybe you don't wanna take a chance on drafting edwards hilar- you know so early. But that's what people decided to do. And now that he's injured. He's not ready for the regular season. I think you definitely want to wait a little bit on him. Obviously if you have him on your team you know. Maybe look at the backups. For the chiefs. Like daryl williams guys like that they also did bring in jerick mckinnon. Who was you know. I i would say. It was pretty productive for the forty niners last year. So maybe he's another option. In case edwards layer is out for an extended period of time. Especially if you know carries over to the regular season so you do have some options especially if he is your number two running back again. It stinks but that's one of the injuries that has happened already. Again he avoided a high ankle sprain. So that's good but we'll have to wait and see what happens with that. Also talk about dak prescott so he is dealing with that shoulder injury but says he looked sharp in in the workout on saturday completing fifty one fifty two passes during a workout. So you know what i mean. There's a lot of mixed reports on. Is he gonna play. This season is not going to play. I mean i feel like he is going to play. I feel like if he wasn't practicing at all and you just never saw him. I think that would be a problem. That would definitely raise some red flags and maybe he doesn't play but i feel like if he's sharp and he's throwing the football and he i mean he threw it fifty two times. It said you know that definitely means that he's on track to play at some point. If it's not at the start of the season it's definitely going to be. You know maybe a two weeks or three weeks into the season or something like that. But i think he is going to play week one. I think that you know unless we hear something else. I feel like he is on track. The thing that i'm worried about is that he's going up against the buccaneers week one. That is a problem because those are the world champions. They're going to have. They have a really good front seven. They've a great front seven they have probably arguably the best front seven in the nfl. They're gonna have an improved. David improve secondary okay. The young guys are definitely going to be better than they were last year. They played better in the postseason. This defense is lethal. And now you're going to be going up against dak prescott who you know. Hasn't seen game action really since week. Five when he got hurt last year and he's definitely going to be a little nervous. A little skittish in the pocket. You know he doesn't want to get hit you know and this defense is really not gonna care. So it's going to be a tough match of week. One for dak prescott. So hopefully he's healthy and he's ready to go. It seems like he's ready but you know he's still listed as questionable so we'll see what happens with that so also some other injuries. So odell beckham junior. He still dealing with that knee injury. Obviously coming back from the acl tear. you know. he's still recovering and all that is obviously going to play this year. As long as there's no or anything like that but it is something to keep an eye on definitely a guy that has seen a dip in fantasy Fantasy stock since his rookie season. You know obviously has not been consistent like he was you know his first couple of years in the nfl You know is a guy that could definitely be a flex option but you probably want to wait on him. Because i feel like with the browns. They were better without him. So it's gonna be kind of weird to see how he you know reinsert himself into certain lineups and also kind of go go back on dak prescott. He's still going to be a qb one in fantasy. He is going to put a massive numbers this year. If he's healthy he's got the weapons forward if the offensive line is healthy. And of course. Zeke is going to be back as well. You know dak is going to have a good season. I don't think there's any question about it as long as he's healthy In terms of fantasy. I think he's going to have a really good season We'll see what happens with everything else. But i think he'll put massive numbers definitely a guy that could be one. Of course it all just depends on the injuries so moving onto other injuries going through my friends starting lineup. So dj moore is also questionable. He is dealing with a back injury but this may only keep him out of just the preseason he should be available week one and you know he's another guy that i think it's still do good. Of course would sam darnold now is. The new quarterback obviously had a solid season last year..
