"Feel like there's so many walmarts in the country. So like going to shop at a Walmart makes sense, but it says ecommerce. I know, I know. And there are so many like, okay, for instance, I'll give you all an example. When I worked at PopSugar, many eons ago. There was an ecommerce editor that did a sponsored story by Walmart and wrote it, and she included all of these high end luxury brands that you could buy online at Walmart dot com. And it was through them authorizing it through third party dropship, whatever's. And I had literally Tom Ford emailing me going hi. We do not know this editor, please remove this. This is not an authorized retailer of Tom Ford fragrances or makeup. So this doesn't some things some things are awry with this statistic. This does not in terms of ecommerce. I mean, maybe I'm just out of touch. Are y'all buying your beauty products on the maybe because like we've said before, there are probably more walmarts in this country than there are targets and altas. And so maybe it's just like brand loyalty, a lot of these gen zers are like my parents shop at Walmart. And so I feel like they'll allow me to shop at Walmart and use their credit card. I don't know what the I don't know. What's wrong? I'm calling it Mick Mack. You fucked up because this is not right. This is not right. Walmart does not carry enough relevant beauty brands for them to be at 40% of ecommerce beauty shopping. I'm sorry. It's absolutely false. It's patently false. I need to see the receipts here. I do not believe this. Jack's like, don't click up batting link I will not serve. I am terrified of anything that is related. I don't believe it, but I appreciate the thought. Yeah. Well, we'll follow up with Nick Mack on this, everyone. And maybe come back with some more information. Because I also agree, Ulta Sephora target, I Amazon even absolutely. I haven't been to Walmart in a while. Okay, wait, I'm Edward Kim's contribution to this conversation.

"And i'm not exactly talking about the moment. We all remember where they both are slurping on the same noodle and they come together in their noses touch though. That's that's a great disney moment but right after that is another little touch where the tramp noses over the last meatball on the plate towards ladies direction and if you know anything about dogs willingly giving up the last scrap of food. You don't get much more romantic. So i don't know i just. This isn't a disney classic by any means. I do like the film but it was the one that i came to my mind when i was thinking of some of the disney animated films with have you know. They're aimed at children. They still often do. Have this romantic element to them. That adults still pick and appreciate and this one sticks me. I know that's one that came in at least once on twitter as well we throw this out to our twitter followers film spotting. The hashtag was movie romantic gestures. And if you're listening and you wanna share your pick. We encourage you to go to twitter and do that. Use that hashtag movie romantic gestures and hopefully we'll be able to feature a few of those on a future show. Let's go from my bonding clyde. Pick at number five to something. That's unambiguously romantic. I talked about being slipped off your character literally sweeping another character offer. Feet joe cocker. Jennifer warnes debra winger slaving away a factory job richard gere. Are you real walks. In looking stunning. In his white naval uniform struts in picks her up carries her away to the cheers of all the onlooking women most of whom have long given up on their prince charming dream coming in to take them away and the whole movie is building up to this moment. Zach mail. Of course richard gere. He's as distant character. He's alone or he's unwilling to commit to follow through and finish anything and at the end of the movie he actually graduates glass and rather than turning his back on paul of the girl he's had a good time with and developed somewhat of a relationship with every gets what he wants. He doesn't leave her like her. Real father did to her mother when he became a pilot instead he graduates and he comes into the factory and takes her away. And if you don't get a little bit choked up and want to get up and cheer. Yeah what's up. Tell me what your easy. I have no heart if that moment doesn't work for you josh. What's going to get more trouble. Criticized duck soup and saying it's an of comic masterpiece are saying that this is the cheesiest horny is sometimes. Sometimes you got to embrace. The cheese couldn't do it. Sorry number three for me. Nothing quite as cathartic at all as a matter of fact hugely tragic. It comes from brokeback mountain. And it's the final scene tragedies do grab a hold of us romantic tragedies in a way that happy ending films often don't and that's certainly true of lee's two thousand five cowboy romance movie ends with this co two years after the majority of the action. It's after the death of jake. Jillian hall's character jack where we see. Ns played by heath ledger. He's living and what appears to be this lonely life in a trailer. The impression is he still hasn't found happiness he hasn't gone back and tried to live a lie again by getting married. He's on his own but he still hasn't found anyone jack either. So it's just a very depressing situation. We see there. He does get a visit from his grown daughter and after she leaves he goes to hang something up in an open closet and we noticed that hanging there on the door is assured of jacks and earlier we saw an esa visit. Jack's parents house that's where he comes across the. I thought you might go with that moment. That's the famous one that was in the trailer thing where he's hugging the and it works but it's also and maybe this is why i resist an officer and a gentleman a little bit. It's also very out there. It's a crime scene. It's very emotive and you know purposefully so but somehow it doesn't get me quite as much as this final one where an is just simply buttons. The shirt with care and you can tell on his face that the pain is still just as fresh as in that earlier scene and for some reason just that little bit of holding back that ledger does makes it all the more powerful. I mean this this is. This is a moment that just sent people out of theater in. So yeah brokeback mountain is advantest choice. You're listening to film spotting and honor valentine's day we're sharing top five movie romantic gestures and i'm gonna go with a pick for my number three. That has a lot more happy ending and brokeback mountain. Does it's great powell pressburger movie. A matter of life and death with david niven as the star also. Kim hunter as his love interest in this film. And i guess i have to give a little bit applaud background. If people aren't familiar with this movie it is a film. That was part of our powell pressburger. Marathon a few years ago here on the show where you have a pilot in world war two british pilot and he's going to go down and he knows his death is imminent and he ends up talking to this american radio operator. Who's based out of england. It's kim or and they developed this connection it his final moments. He knows he's about to die. He has to leave the plane without a parachute. there's no way he's going to survive this and yet somehow he ends up on the beach and he does five and the reason. Why is the conductor. Marius goring who's fantastic. Who was sent to get him and bring him up to the other world. It's not called heaven just called the other world. He lost in the fog and didn't catch him and he survives. But then there's this legal battle of okay. What's really going to happen to him. Maybe they need to need to often anyway basically because they need to put things right and bring him back up to the other world and the key scene is the end of the film where we get the moment where roger lindsay the great actor who is in. So many powell. Pressburger films plays his lawyer making the case for him for why he should be able to continue to live and go back to earth and be with kim hunter and the only way they can make their case and she can really prove her love for him is to be willing to leave him to be willing to go up that staircase that immaculate wonderfully designed staircase in the other world and take peter's place and let him go back to earth joan. Trust me yes. Fank i trust you. It is absolutely necessary the to take pitas place in the other world. Have you gone mad if you really love him. June step onto the stick. Come with us you. i'm at it is the only way to prove your love. I do sean go to cook. Restrain him fortunately for all of us watching and for them the powers-that-be decide that they do need to be together and that he deserves to live and they both get sent back to earth in that moment. That's sacrifice her being willing to do that for him is a romantic gesture that i just had to have on this list. Yeah that's powell pressburger. I haven't seen so put it on the catch-up list. My number two speaks a little bit to what i said at the start about picking the same movie as other people but having different moments because it comes from edward scissorhands in on twitter. Marissa's jude her. Handle as my vague symptoms actually suggested the one where edward kim embrace and kim played by winona. Ryder delicately arranges his blades. So that they won't cause any harm. I do love that touch. I think it's a great touch. But i actually went in a different direction. They're decorating for christmas. In the neighborhood at this point in the film and edward carves out this giant ice sculpture. Inane joel in kim's yard and one gesture here what i like about the scene. Is there a couple of gestures going back and forth both of them romantic. Have one of course is the carving. It's edward expressing his affection for him and especially how it creates this delicate falling snow and ice in the yard. It's it's sort of not only his gesture of affection but him proclaiming his worth as a person because that's one of the underlying themes here of course but i do think that the return gesture is just as important. The one that kim gives and it's simply to dance the snowflakes.

"We had Natalie Rodriguez with a trending story order, Natalie. Good morning crying, so everyone saw pretty antsy about this being taxed and all but Ah, lot of the talks are now circling about that child tax credit payment that's going to be kicking into bank accounts or in the mail around July, 15th. We're talking some 39 million American families. The payments are covered by that massive cove it stimulus bill that passed back in March. Um, basically raised the maximum payments of families can get per child this year from $5600 Children under six families and have Children under six will be getting about $300 per child. Those with six through 18 will be getting roughly $250 payments on the 15th of every month for the remainder of the year. And that income threshold a shade over 100,000 for families up to four as well. So that income threshold little bit different than some of the other eligibility guidelines for previous stimuli payments. So it's good update. It's gonna update All right. And speaking of good updates. Well, this was interesting. So you would think it would be fairly big news in the grand scheme of things, but I guess in the mist of the pandemic with everything else going on in the world The president's declaration that we're going in cancer as we know it. It didn't seem to receive may be a whole lot of fanfare. But it is interesting for sure to take a closer look at and Dr Edward Kim, who's the physician in chief at City of Hope, Orange County, joining us now, Dr Kim, thank you for taking the time. Good morning. Thanks. It's my pleasure. Okay, So we talk about ending cancer as we know it from your perspective. How close are we to achieving that? Well, I think we have to have aspirational goals and dedicated my career to helping patients with cancer. I think we can be optimistic about it now, since we've seen quite a bit of progress, especially in the last 10 to 15 years, and we've really seen the transformation. Of really precision medicine going Maura into each individual persons tumor and figuring out that there are genes in there that are unique to that cancer. And we can, in fact, trying therapies that target them directly, So I think it's It's definitely a goal that we can achieve. You point out the ability to do a better job detecting things early. I hear you talking and I hear my first wife. She's an oncologist in my head, and this goes back well over 15 years ago now, But she's saying, like, you know, for just about any cancer if we catch it early. You're going to recover. And if that was the case back then I could imagine we were only that much closer to analogy is early detection and all of this really the key Yeah, the best way Tolo not have to treat cancers to prevent it and early detection As you point out is really important. We have some testing. Now That's the same. The mammograms and colonoscopies and even lung cancer screening with cat scans are very important. But we're getting closer now to having blood testing That would in fact, help us detect cancer at an earlier stage, and if that's the case, then just as you say it is more treatable, and there's also preventable. Going. Ask you about that blood testing, actually, um, you know how far out could've blood test potentially show cancerous material. You know, One thing to realize is that these tests are not perfect. But there are going to be some commercial options coming down the road in which there will be blood testing done. That will try to measure the DNI to in the blood that, in fact, could be shed from cancers or detect. Potential early cancers. How soon or how old we know that the accuracy the tests will increase with age because aging is one of the highest risk factors, But we will probably try to find folks that have family histories or other aspects that put them at a higher risk. And those would be the first folks that would benefit from these types of tests. Speaking to Dr Edward Kim, physician in chief City of Hope, Orange County. Do you think that we will eventually have a quote unquote cure to cancer? The cancer is very complex effects. One in three people I want I'm gonna room I tell people to look to the right look, the left. One of you is probably going to be affected by cancer. Even in lung cancer, which is where I specialized in you think lung cancer. It's one cancer. In fact, they're convey anywhere between 50 to 100 different types of lung cancer. When we go deeper and look at the actual genetics of it, so it's a very complex disease. But again, we are making such great progress with clinical trials with putting them out there for folks who can have access for them. On. I believe our progress is going to be meaningful and lead to a cure. Doctor Kim thank you. For the for the update the information and the positivity is as well. It's good to hear. I know it's great, and I really think thank you for for spreading this word, just as you say. During this pandemic, it hasn't have been out there. But cancer is something that affects everyone. On Do I really would encourage folks to reach out to their local centers. You know, I'm moving to the city of Hope in Orange County, And that is an area where 3.2 million people live and are going to be affected a smudge of 18 to 20% of new cancer in the next 10 years, So we have to be vigilant about this. Dr Edward Kim Geun, physician in chief city of Hope, Orange County and Great update and you take a look at so much of the progress we are able to make. It's hard for people who've lost members of their family cancer cancer runs in my family. I've lost three members to brain cancer. And way too young of an age. At the same time, while we don't have a cure, think about how many cancers he used to be. You go back in the eighties You heard cancer. Our first thought was death right now. It's okay. What type? How early? Did you catch up? Then alone shows how far we've come in all this so very optimistic about The future. All especially the early detection stuff. All right, going to be right back. My top three takeaways here. The prime mud show news radio 6 10 wi ony today I'm taking it to the streets to give people the good news. Oh, excuse me. Hello. I'm Flo from progressive. And did you know I'm just waiting for the bus. So then you have time to hear about how with home court Explorer..
