"Got a better idea, call it four four four the USA now, 844-484-3872, the Dan bongino show. Welcome back to the Dan bianchino show, mangino. This is moon grafa and humble to sit in a guy from Louisiana just enjoying life and then Dan called messed up my whole week. There's a lot of fun for me in a pretty old comments getting a lot of emails, moon at moon grafa and dot com moon at moon griffon GRI FFO in dot com and I appreciate your comments and I'm trying to answer everybody that sends one end so if you want to comment that way. Also, we'd like to take some phone calls toward the end of our so if you want to be part of the program and you got a comment you'd like to make. 8 four four four 8 four 38 72 8 four four four 8 four 38 72. I'll squeeze in some calls to the end of this I went in the next hour like we normally do. So if you want to be part of the program it's an opportunity for you to be a voice and all the places Dan is areas that cover, which is just about everywhere. All righty, one more clip because it kind of said if you care about your kids education and you enrolled Ireland and you go just challenge ask questions about curriculum or whatever I mean they tell you we don't call children boys or girls. I mean, I don't know about y'all, but I am a kid in school, but we still call boys and girls. Grandbabies are boys. You know, we know. I know what they are. How can school systems be how can they be allowed to get away with this and any community with a half a brain? I just have a break. Just any kind of sense at all. It seems like everyone in school board members should be fired. And in any 8, a national education association when they and all these markets and in our state too, I mean, some of those people are absolutely outrageous. They really are. So anyway, here's the last clip, the Rhode Island mother, the name of Nicole, solace, and not just any a is threatening parents. Here we go. In a 5 hour long school board meeting, they openly debated my moral character, my political motivations. They said that I was causing chaos, wreaking havoc, harming the district, harming children. One school board member even said she felt unsafe and started to cry because as you see, I'm really scary standing here right now. And they really just hard and feathered me for asking questions. And they had never met me before, and this was the first school board meeting that I had ever been to in my life. They wanted to send a message to other parents that if you ask questions, they will come after you. Well at the end of this meeting, they decided that they wouldn't sue me for asking questions because they never intended on actually suing me. They just wanted to publicly humiliate me in a school board meeting that was a show trial. And when that happened then, the teachers union, the largest teachers union in the country, the NEA did file a lawsuit against me to bully me and harass me

Aaron Withe Shares the Latest Out of the Teacher Union Conventions

"Aaron, they can't hide the fact that they're that they're liberal agenda is all they're really about. Yeah, I mean, you look at both the teachers unions, the American federation of teachers and the national education association, both of them had their conventions last week. And as you mentioned, they weren't talking about how to educate our kids. They were talking about how to abolish the filibuster. They were talking about masking at kids and critical race theory and sex Ed in schools and all the rest of it. I mean, these institutions, these are liberal institutions today that have nothing to do with educating our children. Everything to do with indoctrinate our kids with some liberal talking points. We look back at the conventions back in 2019, the national education association and on their platforms then was critical race theory and defunding the police. You look free years later, these are the things that are actually being talked about in the Democratic Party. It's our belief that these teachers unions are not just the primary funders of liberal politicians, which they absolutely are, but they're also the thought leaders when it comes to creating liberal talking points and pushing a radical agenda.

Rep. Gary Palmer: 'The Vast Majority of Teachers Are in It for the Right Reasons'

"Has it been a sort of amazing to you how much control the education unions are mass vaccines, man? A really not wanting to go back in the classroom? Isn't that concerning going into this next elect cycle? And if it is, how can we talk about it in a positive way? To get people understanding. I think the vast majority of teachers are in that profession for the right reason done. The vast vast majority. I think they want to teach what's driving teachers out of the classroom, where all of the rules and the changes in curriculum and a lot of it has to do with stuff like critical race theory and all this wokeness. It's taking away from what they considered their live mission to teach a kid to read it, teach a kid how to do math or to have a love of history or science. And I think the education union is largely responsible for this. I don't think this is when you look at the number of people who teach in the school versus the number of people who are actually members of the education union voluntarily. It's a very small percentage that running this education into the ground. And by the way, we had a markup, a markup in energy commerce committee, where there were two or three Democrats that said CRT, critical race theory was a myth that it didn't exist that there wasn't being done in any schools. And entered into the record, a resolution from the national education association, calling for the teaching of critical race theory on every school in America and setting up a separate program within the NEA that they funded at a 120 some $1000 to promote it. That is going to be one of the most destructive things that we've ever seen happen to education in this country. And it's going to drive more and more kids out of the public

"Just because it's been such an interesting topic. I kind of a sad topic. I say for me personally. Like having been a schoolteacher time the very fact that people would be using tick-tock to challenge each other to do harmful things in school is is awkward to say the least. I mean it's just it just kind of rough half. it's not good. It's not good. So rough that the national education association the us nea Which is a huge. Teacher's union is speaking out against this These dangerous practices by by writing directly to the ceo of facebook twitter and tick-tock and for those who may not be involved with the nea. That one may think oh. Well you know. It's the teacher's union. They are a very large very well. Organized and very articulate union that has swayed a lot more than these situations in their history so if you can only read one thing about digital citizenship and safety this week read this article about teachers coming after. Tick tock facebook. Yeah it's it's it's a very read especially if you've been a k. Twelve teacher and even really anyone in general just to think of these things that are getting promoted. It's it is. It's not good right right so number two. Our next trend is teaching and instructional design. Interestingly we didn't see a lot about teaching online which is odd because it normally is a large part of that when we do teaching instructional design. That's right and often. It's its own separate subject area. But what we saw was more about teaching general and instructional design in general. So we saw. We saw very interesting article about the increasing popularity of micro schools Which were defined within the article. As small schools lok attended by local students in smaller groups generally A wide range of age ranges and grades together being facility with a facilitator or facilitators Who are helping them with their coursework. Which again the snarky part of me says. Isn't this the little red schoolhouse from the past. Just prior to sort of our industrial revolution use of lancaster in grades. And things like that. And it's actually pronounced lancaster burian and the fact that i know that always makes me very super proud of myself and i don't think you're being snarky think it's just a it's just a reflection on on like pass history and where we've been and where we read it and there's no there's no harm in something circling back coming more useful now in in the current situation but it is an interesting the just the way it was described sounded to me like like i could hear the music from little house on the prairie with that. I watched as a kid like where they were where they were involved in a school..

"You do understand like you reverse engineer where you're going in. The prophets will be there later with the right team in place but when it does come to the union discussion. There was a great purpose for that back then. His people were just flat out being abused. And even today when you think about protecting Content protecting what legally should be yours. So you think about being in the union to protect that whether it's your intellectual property of obviously like the record industry in things like that. Not hollywood i get that. But you're run of the mill business. You really shouldn't need one. You really shouldn't need a union because if you really taking care of your people and you really helping them develop in expand and grow and do all these things. The unions shouldn't be necessary in. I know a lot of unions. Go try to invade a business because let's face it. It's profit for them to just to have members and you gotta balance that in what you're paying dues for what clout you're getting in. Well if you're gonna join that that you got to rely on that union to get you what you want. But at the end of the day is that the most productive way because right now. The biggest union in the country is the national education association. That has about three million member in you. See a lot of arguments on collective bargaining agreements for teachers. And things like that that you really wouldn't need if you just took care of it if he just treated him right in paid him while all those things like any company the us wouldn't have to be thing but looking at all of that and thinking of where we are now and that's just a very very super-quick overview of the history of work of you can go into by decades in all kinds of things when you think about things that have come from that as the forty hour workweek you think about the companies have to pay start giving vacations in health care and then the government stepping in on some things like the family medical leave act so you can actually go out in still have.

"One of my favorite journalist John Solomon, has website called just the news dot com One of his riders there. Guy named Greg Piper has a story. I can remember the day when we talk show hosts would use expressions like you're not going to believe this. Sadly, these days, we don't use that expression expression very much anymore. Because we don't put anything past him. Of course, you're going to believe this. From that from Justin news dot com. The Rhode Island mother who turned to public records law to learn what the school district was teaching her daughter. Is now a defendant. In a lawsuit. By the state and local teachers Union, the Rhode Island and South Kingstown chapters. The National Education Association actually sued Nicole Solis. And the school district this week. To stop. Her. Stop the ladder. Pardon me. To stop the school district itself. From releasing records sought by Mrs Solis. Including curriculum and policies related to not just critical race theory. Not just anti racism. But also Gender theory. And Children's sexuality. What Teachers unions imply they have the right to indoctrinate your Children and whatever perversions they want to, and you, the mom or Dad shouldn't have the legal right to have oversight over your own Children's education. What Why ladies and gentlemen, This sounds just like American Marxism to me.

"And they should in fact how you think about everything else in how you think about the world so i think most people agree that that's problematic way of understanding the world that it's not always accurate People who talk about critical theory in this way are the same ones who tend to say you know. We shouldn't use the word right or wrong when you're talking about mathematical equations anymore. Because that i don't know is is part of the hierarchical patriarchy. I i don't know I i don't know. I can't put all those words in a blender and then get them all out in one sentence but essentially it's that So that it's been pulled from their agenda. It's it's not a small thing that this is now because one of the other arguments against people who are pushing for bans on critical theory and school for example. One of the arguments has been. This isn't being taught. You know i don't know what you're talking about is not in the classroom and this seemed like clear evidence that it is. What did you make this situation. It's there. There's such interesting thing happening because what we've heard really from leaders from media outlets the front page of the new york times washington post both if i remember correctly had statements that you know this whole thing. About critical theory specifically critical race theory is not really an issue. Like this is something. This is a a boogie man. that has been You know raised up by conservatives. Who basically are. It's a way for them to advance their white supremacy or its way for them to attack the other side and bad faith Oftentimes it gets laid at the feet of christopher rufo. Because of the work he's done and pointing out what's happening in schools And and so we've been told that this is an issue. Critical race theory critical race theory is not being taught. It's not being taught it's not being taught is not actually a thing and now we have the national association education association saying crt is reasonable and appropriate in. The teachers will oppose anything that anti is it and also you know legislation. That's anti the sixteen nineteen project and and so on so so now we're like oh boso so it israel so it's so it actually does exist so it is the thing okay. That's good and the largest teacher's union in america or the largest education association in america is on board with it. Okay can we at least go that far. Because what's happened. Here is really a bad faith thing where anybody who says you know. Look i don't like these categories Of of cr this year he gives us and by the way. I want to say again. My promessi our t. Is not to ours the sea in the tea. It's it's the it's not the the the racial discussions that need to happen. And it's the the critical theory that is shaping how the racial discussions are happening and and because that theory assumes the categories of moral hierarchy than to question. The theory itself is to be on the wrong side of the oppressor oppression creation equation. And you can't do anything about it. You're stuck so so now we know that it's a thing so that's important Then you know earlier. This week. I think might have actually just been friday. Morning abram x. kendy writes a piece in the atlantic saying now the critique is his critique is not that critical theory creek series. Not really thing. It's that everything. they're saying. Critical race theory is. It's not and that's that's an interesting thing because there are different thinkers of critical race theory. And they're saying they're not all saying the same thing i mean that's we said the same thing about the lgbtq movement..

Violent crimes skyrocketing across the united states. Yeah and did you happen to see the smash and grabs shopping spree at neiman. Marcus in san francisco and they did absolutely nothing about it. Six thirty seven now thirteen ten. Kfi a thirteen ten kfi a dot com joined this morning by ali blood. She's a conservative commentator and best selling author of uncensored america. Good morning allie. Good morning how are you. I'm doing great this morning. how about you. you're in great. How is your fourth of. July is spent a longtime yesterday talking about the fourth of july as we celebrated the traditions of these of this nation. Long the nation's two hundred and forty fifth birthday traditions far and wide better under attack. Yeah i had a wonderful for. Thanks for asking god to celebrate with friends and family and really remember what this country is all about which too many people unfortunately haven't seemed to have forgotten in the last year. Because you had a couple of our air quotes leaders taking to twitter which is referred to as the world's biggest bathroom wall and taking that opportunity to bash america on the fourth of july because well it seems though any issue regardless of whether we're talking about defunding the police critical race theory. Well it comes down to divide and conquer in terms of race. Am i wrong now. You're absolutely right. And i mean it was disgusting to see those things ultimately people who are sitting members of congress saying that they're not free which is ridiculous because they're currently a sitting member of congress elected to one of the highest positions in our country making a great salary and actually dictating the legislation. That's passed so it seems completely bizarre to me but ultimately i don't build it these arguments that really based turned back there based on devices narrative like mentioned that there's something that they're actively pushing for and it doesn't matter if arguments makes sense they're going to continue to say it until aggressively push back against it. How do we do that alley. Because it seems as though so many in their quest for consummate power and control Forget a some pretty gusts words about how we should be judged on the content of our character and not the color of her skin. Yeah i think that there's a lot of different ways to do it. And ultimately it depends on where people are passionate and where they feel that they have the most to lose them their personal lives. So for instance. I have a daughter. She's four years old. She's going to be getting ready to go to school tune and for me. I wanna make sure that the school that she's in is not teaching this type of narrative. I've been able to file freedom of information request About what they're actually teaching and tools which every single parents can do. You can do that with the leaders of your board of education for your state you can do it for your school board and ultimately you can show up to school board meetings and ask questions and make sure that you're playing an active role in your community and so even though these are very large national issues they start with your local community and everyone has an opportunity to get involved. So if you're a small business owner like myself you can get involved in your local chamber of commerce. Make sure that you know what laws are being passed. Make sure that you're organizing with other people who are in similar situations that you are and this is something that we all have to be very active and doing because the other side is great at organizing. And if we don't get there you know we're likely going to lose these fights one after another you know the National education association held its annual representative assembly virtually over the july fourth holiday weekend pledging to teach critical race theory again the ideology that claims america is your redeem ably rooted in racism and off fifty states and across the more than fourteen thousand school. District's the union works with. Let's talk a little bit about critical race theory and as the mother of four year old daughter. I think your concerns are shared by many as basically a critical race theory teaches that well. This entire nation is rooted in racism. Yeah i think that this is probably one of the most concerning things that i've seen but unfortunately this is not something that happened overnight. This started in universities decades ago people were simply not paying attention to it and while parents were busy trying to earn a living and trying to give their children the life that they want them to have schools were slowly starting to adopt this and because of the lack of interest in the curriculum but one thing taught to their children. This has been slipped in without much notice from parents of the students. Now like you mentioned. We saw the national association national education association. Come out very clearly state that they are not focused on things like literacy or not focused on getting children to be able to do basic math at grade level. They're not focused on mental health of our school aged children which has been so critically damaged in the last year. This was their top priority to push narrative of racial division. But not just that. They said that they're going to actively fight against any organization or any parent that dares to question or push back against this. This is not an organization about education. This is a political organization pushing ideology on our children. But this is funded by our tax payer dollars so every parent needs to reach out to their school boards and find out which teachers are members of this organization. Who are they An how long have they been members. And i would very very clearly stand up at the board meeting and tell them that if you do not withdraw if you do not allow teachers who are not willing to push this narrative on our children to work. Educate our students were going to pull them out of school. And we've seen that in so many states across the nation. I just yesterday that there's been a thirteen percent drop in pre k. and garden enrollment. I saw that as well. That's incredible and i can't help but to continue to can't help but to connect the dots on that one because parents are saying what our kids being taught. Whatever happened to basic skills reading.

What if We Put Cameras in the Classrooms?

"Here before the show, and I wrote a few notes to myself. Even though I prepared all weekend long Still, there are things that bother me and I need to write them down to talk to you about it. What do we know about the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, these two big unions they control. Hundreds of billions of dollars of our tax money. Almost 80% of most school districts. Budget Ghost hurts teachers. What do we know about this union? What do we know about your teacher's contract in your school district? What do we know about how teachers are rated and how they get tenure? What do we know about what's going on in the classroom? I saw something. Kind of funny. As I was working over the weekend, I had Pakistan in the background. I think it was yesterday. Maybe the day before. And what are their contributors came on with an idea, Mr Producer, and his idea was Teachers should have body cameras, or at least there should be cameras in the classroom. Have we talked about this for three weeks. We had a caller call with the brilliant idea Brilliant idea that teachers should have. Body cameras like cops and other people walk of life. I said that might be tough. You know, They do have to go to the restroom now and then and so forth. How about just cameras in the classroom? I mean, all during the pandemic, we were told. Virtual education is important. It's good. The unions wanted it. No big deal. Well, why can't we still watch what the teachers are teaching our kids?

National Education Association Debates if Vaccination Should Be Mandatory for Students

"I am obsessed with some other issues. The National Education Association, the largest labor union in the country. With three million members and by the way, so labor union that is funded solely on your dime. But for you, this institution called the National Education Association wouldn't even exist. The Soviet style iron fisted. Propaganda operation. You remember how well they treated your Children over the pandemic, don't you? Never forget it. That's who they really are. They're holding it their annual meeting this week. One of the most controversial topics up for debate is whether an organization will demand that all students be vaccinated before returning to school this fall. This union should have no saying it whatsoever there. The employees if they don't like it, get the hell out of the classroom. Who the hell do you think you are? We might go on strike. Who the hell will notice? And you lousy rotten teachers. You bring down all the good teachers and yet lousy, rotten union. You bring down the good teachers to their smothered By this damnable union. Let me go on, according to the group's meeting agenda. For debate is whether the anti I will call for mandatory safe and effective. How about you call for mandatory education that is teach, actually teaching the damn classroom.

Children of Immigrants Are Being Taught To Hate Our Country

"Are coming into this country as immigrants. They're being taught to hate our country. The fact that they or their parents escaped the cultures in the countries. Obviously from which they came. To come to this country, presumably for a better life. Means that we, the American citizen who's here. Have a right to expect allegiance to our country. And support for the culture, the most diverse culture on the face of the earth by the way. We cannot survive. Balkanized in tribal lives like this, where people bring their own cultural hate. Into this country. And then intend to do what with it. We'll conquer the other cultures. They don't want diversity. They won't control. They want compliance. They want adherence. This is a disgrace. The school board member The fact that she was elected is a disgrace. And the fact that the rest of the school board members won't do a damn thing about it because most if not all number of Democrats Tells you all you need to know. The Democrat Party is the Is the sieve through which this is occurring nationally statewide and on local school boards. The teachers union. As I've talked about now, for a long time, the National Education Association American Federation for Teachers I don't have any allegiance to this country. I didn't say the teachers. I said the union. They don't have any allegiance to this country. They demonstrated it last year during the virus, and they demonstrated now. And the fact that she campaigned for Bernie Sanders in a big way. I should tell you a lot. Again about the Democrat Party. Bernie Sanders has looked at it. You know, he's an old nice enough guy. He's a dangerous Communist. That's what he is.

Governor Inslee announces next steps in re-opening plan for Washington counties and school districts

"Hinting at it for weeks. Governor Jay Hands Lee makes the announcement after one year of closure of our schools. The time has come for every child in the state of Washington to have access to on site instruction, his reasoning. We're doing this because we have experienced a mental health crisis for many of our Children. This will provide them an option. That suits their needs of their family is order has two parts, starting with the younger students. April 5th all students in grades kindergarten through six. Most have the opportunity to engage in an on site hybrid model of instruction. And by April 19th all other K through 12 students must be provided a hybrid model of instruction. In schools that are K through five. It'll it'll apply through K through five. Able 19th. Every school district will need to have at least at least 30% of their pre pandemic. Average of weekly instructional hours that will be provided in person for all K through 12 students, he says. Families who want to remain online on Lee will be able to do so. Going on to say the science shows this can be done safely. There are over 1004 school 400 schools that are doing this safely today with minimal in school transmission. There are over 200 School district's who have been able to figure this out. And there are over 400,000 students that have safely been able to enjoy on site instruction should their families so desire. This is a wondrous miracle that we want every child to be able to experience. We know we can do this safely, and we're confident our ability to do that. And there's federal money available to pay for it. And for mental health services for students, passage of the American Rescue Plan Act. We estimate schools in our state. We'll have received about $2.6 billion that's with a B. $2.6 billion in pandemic relief, and I've heard from many educators who would like that money to go to mental health aid for students. With counselors, nurses and other support workers for a variety of the challenge. Our students have I agree with those educators. We need to do this. A spokesperson for the Washington Education Association. That's the teachers union says they agree a safe return to schools is important. In a written statement, she goes on to say the governor's announcement assumes that districts have the ability to provide safe teaching and learning. And she says some district's just aren't prepared yet. She also says local unions will continue to bargain with district's over a safe return to buildings. Seattle School District has been reluctant to reopen classes. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris raped All was asked about that at this time school District, One of the district's who does not have a cruel to access their face, too. Well, because Esther dollars federal relief dollars, I would remind everybody we have one year to distribute those dollars and we will not distribute them to districts. We do not have a viable plan to reopen their schools subject to this governor's order. This year will continue to have that conversation because we know they can get there. They will get there with demonstrated the safety protocols. This is unprecedented money to buy those ventilation systems or those portable air units or divide more PTE or two at least on a temporary basis, Bring in more staff, Seattle District spokesperson says We are in active negotiations with the Seattle Education Association for a safe and successful return with some students, he says. Coming back March 29th, he continues. We will need time to analyze the Details of the proclamation and determined the impact for a student's families and staff. Charlie Harder come

"34 Bethesda Sedation, Dentistry, Sleep, dreams smile, their stories that have been breaking while you've been a work. This is the Larry O'Connor shown. We continue with a little bit short. She is a concerned parent in Fairfax County with her Children in the public school system there, and she's been dealing with it, just like you've been doing. With it. She is a little bit of extra insight, though, on this because up until a year ago, she was actually part of the school board. She was a member of the school board. And Elizabeth. I gotta ask you, ma'am. Whenever I talk about this issue, and I raised the specter of the power of the Fairfax Education Association, always getting emails from teachers were not unionized. It's not a union. They don't speak for us. They're not a union. Can you please shed some light on this? Because it sure seems like and nothing. They are a labor union per se. But boy, it seems like the Fairfax Education Association and their leadership has a whole lot of influence on the superintendent and on the school board members. Well, certainly because we're right to work state in Virginia we don't have. We don't actually have unions. But just because you call it an association doesn't mean they don't act like a union And certainly every year budget time They were arm in arm with FBI. You who showed up at our budget testimony to advocate on their on their behalf, But you know, it's the power the power ultimately rest. Period end of story in education policy across this country with however many school board members you have the superintendent works for the school board, and the school board can make these decisions to get these Children back to school. It's up to the school boards. You know, one of the responsibilities of school board has you know you were talking about before we went to break What happens in closed session or away from camera is too. We have to deliberate when families submits a waiver from going to school, you know, they want a home school, and we'd always had these discussions about addressing you. Some members have expressed a lot of concern. Well, are these Children really going to get an education? How do we know? How do we know they're going to get enough hours? Look do its deliberations were about individual families. You were talking about all families, and that conversation doesn't leave the closed room and come out and we don't we're not having the same conversation. It was like, Oh, we're gonna raise the bar and really deliberate whether a family could actually home school their Children. But now that Children are only going to be in school two days a week, and it's not a full school day and home two days a week, which is still not a full school day and not having school it all on Mondays. Um nobody seems to raise that level of concern or we even meeting Ah standard school year. Who's applying the pressure on the school board members? It doesn't matter whether it's the Associations, the FBI you'd F K F C F T. All of these. These people who are leveraging against the school board members are leveraging against the interests of Children. And that is, you know, was godparents hot under the collar. You know, I have a special education students still in Fairfax, but every single parent is now bested in. Why isn't there school board? Their school board member making decisions that are not centered around what the superintendent wants or what a teacher's association or teachers union want. Why isn't it centered around what is best for kids because they are suffering at the hands of the school board, and and I got to ask, I'm enduring when it's election time. How influential How, uh, Critical is the mobilization efforts and organization and get out the vote of Fairfax Education Association. Not to mention money spent, you know, on all the mailers and all of the stuff that goes out to voters right before Election Day for the school board, I mean, is it Is it reaching a point where the Fairfax Education Association can basically swing an election and create that school board in in the model that they want? Oh, there's no doubt that that special interest groups show up. They give money. But most importantly, they give time They show up bodies who are doing door knocking, who are showing up in the polls and being workers And when you have a special interest group that has the power of money and numbers You are without a doubt going to influence the outcome of the election and you can see on Fairfax County School board. There is one party's voice represented, and it is unfortunate that a school board becomes political. Um, as a result of that degree of influence when you students don't come to school with No R or D, or an eye on their heads their their academic interest their social and emotional well being the path to to graduate students who are well educated and grounded in civics and science and history, and the arts says they're productive and happy citizens, whether they go into the workforce and work force readiness or to go on to college. That's the job of the school board and this school board and many other just like it in the metropolitan area and across this country are not making that their focus their way off kilter, and that's why parents are So upset because now they're seeing the effects in their homes every single day. We have to leave it there. I appreciate your voice, though. Whether you're on the school board or not, Frankly, I think that you could be even more off spoke. You were pretty outspoken when you're on the school board, But you can't even be more. I've spoken. Now that you're not on Dis is something very important to all parents, all anyone any taxpayer. Anybody who's witnessing what's going on right now, when we're still not moving toward where we need to go in Fairfax County anymore in this area. All parents and all all taxpayers are vested in what's best for our students, and that's not what's happening. So we're feeling it in every community across the country, and, um, when we we can raise our voice. As individuals and unite say we've had enough. Let's fix this. Let's figure this out because you aren't doing it sitting from that feet. That's when that's when we have power together. Thank you, Elizabeth Schultz. But if anyone wants to reach out to you, you know you don't have a campaign website is running your Facebook. What do you prefer? Um, You know what? Anybody can email me directly. Um, uh And I will give that Elizabeth shoulder home at gmail dot com. There was this old home at gmail dot com and I'm flooded with stories. "This is the Larry O'Connor shell. Yeah, and let's just be clear here because that sort of breaking news and you know the way these school boards work. You know, I don't know if you saw this with Mrs McLaughlin or picked up on it, but there's there's this vote today, which is really just a Yes, let's move forward. There will be an official vote Thursday, but the fact that this one was unanimous. Is the big green light we've been waiting for. And Fairfax County. You've been through a lot, and I know that it's not ideal, and I know it's not tomorrow, but we're getting there were close now in and the news here is that schools will start opening and over the course of two weeks from now on February through mid March, it looks like by that time, the full hybrid at least two days a week system will be in place for parents who want to have their kids in Fairfax County public schools, and that's not a deal. It's not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than what we've got right now, when we've been so Focused on this and working and now we'll see what the federal Fairfax Education Association says. We'll see because we've been close to this before. In fact, we were ready to open the schools with the hybrid system in September. Before that organization decided Tomo use their considerable influence to change direction. I hope that doesn't happen here. Will certainly see Oh, by the way, I'm told that during this remote meeting, the superintendent's video feed kept getting interrupted and crashing and going down, which is sort of a great metaphor for what So many of us have been dealing with with our kids in the remote learning thing, it's It's sort of Ah, ah, perfect example of the frustrations of what you've been dealing with. So there's your news out of Fairfax. Now they didn't have a public forum today. In this meeting. It was a working meeting they I think they will have a public form later this week. I think it's the Thursday meeting or next week meeting Loudon County in one hour, little about bit over an hour. It's 6 30. They'll be opening the doors in Ashburn, and there will be a public hearing. Now some of you might not be able to be there or they have a limited number of people who can speak out. Some of you might not even live in Loudon County. But here this is what I'd like to do. I'd like this now to be your public form. If you could speak to your school board member. If you could speak to your school superintendent, if you could speak to the people who are controlling your child's education right now, and you're not happy with it. Used this as your form I want to hear from you. Because they do Here. You you see the ultimately The arguments one out. Ultimately, we move things even in Fairfax County. Ultimately and yes, they're saying it's the vaccines. What? Great I'm telling you right now. Not all the teachers will be vaccinated by the time school opens. This goes well beyond that. You heard it from Miss McLaughlin. Just now. The bottom line is the science doesn't support keeping kids out of school. In fact, this science is right now supporting the idea that our Children are being harmed by staying home harmed much more than any danger they or teachers might face with the virus. We have to figure out a way to get the kids back in school. My biggest argument with teachers, unions and the Perfect Education Association, which I know Don't email me is not technically a union that they represent you and they carry considerable weight. The biggest problem all along. Is that their stance has been no, no, no, no. Instead of what do we need to do to get to? Yes. And it's reeked of politics. It's reeked of politics and power. Well, now we're getting to. Yes, And frankly, we're getting to. Yes, it appears to me without the big organized teachers union being a part of the conversation. Thankfully, it looks as though We're actually moving to. Yes, Despite that, Despite the resistance, Maryland needs to follow suit. The conversation now needs to be. We need to get it done. Private schools have gotten it done. Other public schools and other parts of this country have gotten it done. Our Children are being harmed. We're going to get it done, Teachers. We're gonna open. You're either there. We'll find new teachers. I'm sorry to be that start. But that's what needs to happen. If they don't want to be a part of the solution will then they're just a part of the problem. So if you have a voice today, if you could go to the lab in county public schools and voice your opinion about this, what would you say Triple 86 30 to be a male? Washington's mall. W M. "Good morning to you seven or seven W where Washington comes to talk coming up this morning, 7 35. We'll talk about the climate with Martha Murano all the way that Joe Biden's meddling in that issue. That again at 7 35 85. We talked to rust vote former Trump Administration official with his take on the first few days of Biden administration in a 35 Steve Nazis here. He's the chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee. Convince colonies with Mary Walter. Good morning. Joining us now is Rory Cooper. Where is the parent of three Fairfax County Elementary School students? Who my hunch is? They're not in school. Rory Thank you for joining us. No. Good morning, Mary. How are you? I'm doing just fine. So you want your kids back in school? So you should be happy that the parents are the excuse me that the teachers and the administration on the people who work in the schools are all being vaccinated right now. So you think that's a great thing, right? All right. Well, listen, I want all kids to be back in the school, and they haven't been in school since early March. 2020 and the teachers was a good thing that they've been moved to the front of the line to be able to get vaccinated so that we can have a school opening plan. Unfortunately, the Fairfax Education Association has decided that despite the vaccinations, they still will not commit to a full time school opening, so the teachers will get their vaccinations despite Ralph Northam, slow down. Of the distribution in this car in the Commonwealth, But then we still don't know if the schools they're gonna open up and teachers are parents are naturally livid. Yeah, it would be one thing if they were asking for some sort of like subtle change in order to be enough for them to come back, But what they're asking for is pretty dramatic. The Fairfax Education Association Rory Was suggesting that they don't want to come back to five day awake in person teaching until the students are vaccinated. That is that at this moment is an impossible goal. There's no vaccine for Children, and we don't expect to get Children vaccine until well into next year. That's correct. And despite the CDC showing that schools have been relatively the safest places that you can be during this pandemic, the Children do not have a vaccine coming in the near term. They want 14 days of no community spread, which is something that we might not be able to achieve for 12 18 months, even with vaccinations. And yesterday, they added another demand that teachers who feel uncomfortable about going back into the schools continue to keep their jobs at in indefinitely and not have to go back in. So even with the availability of vaccines You can still decide to opt out. But keep your position, which makes the school system strains to school system because they don't have enough teachers to be able to provide. Listen, there's there's a social contract involved with being a front line employees like a teacher teacher's air. Great are My Children's teachers are amazing. They're doing the best that they can. When you jump in in front of people Co morbidity, ease or people who need this vaccination that ensured that they can leave the house safely that people who deliver your packages to deliver your food who are out there in the grocery stores every day. When you're jumping in front of them. The social contract is that you are then going to go out and do your job. And if you are not, then we need to make way for people who are willing to do so. Yeah, absolutely, You know, and we speak to a lot of parents. We hear from a lot of parents who want their kids back in school and are very upset with Fairfax County Temper in particular. So is the voices seem to me to be getting louder and louder and louder. And then you have the teachers pushing in the opposite direction. Stuck in the middle are the school superintendent and those who met in the school board to make these decisions. So are you getting any kind of indication as to where this is going to go? Are they going to do anything? Is this just gonna play? Out indefinitely. What's happening? Well, the school superintendent, the school board Confident for the entire 12 months that actually problems on top of of the school closures. We've had a massive break into their cyber Capabilities to where personal data was let out. They've had returned to school dates set and they've changed those you know, usually 24 hours before the return to school day, it's open my kindergartner. Cried himself to sleep one night because he thought he was going to school to me. This teacher for the first time the next day Governor north, Um, just McKay, the county chairman and Fairfax of Heaven, even said the words school. Rob this year. They're hiding from the problem completely. So unfortunately, the citizens of Fairfax and the Commonwealth of Virginia just don't have any leadership. Anybody who is willing to stand up for the students and the and the invisible Children. That are being ignored. Brought this entire crisis, So I'm hopefully they get some semblance of the of the anger that parents are feeling right now. And this in a lot of parents moved into this county for the school's Fairfax County used to be one of the more desirable public school systems in America and the current leadership on the school board, or absolute, absolutely ruining it. Which is why there's so many recall. Parent groups trying to recall the school board so we can get leadership in there that actually cares about doing their job They're handling. They were handed something wonderful, and they destroyed it. So we're seeing you mentioned before that. The CDC has just issued a report that they once again are urging students to go back to school because the conditions were safe that very minimal safety standards need to be in place. In order for students to be back for in person instruction, including wearing masks and social distancing, But not much beyond that, and everything is going to be safe. It is no is maybe even more dangerous to be stuck at home rather than in school. But we see the Biden administration pushing back right now. Rory there there, Chief of staff. Rahm claim the White House chief of staff was on CNN last night, and he was arguing that we can't get the kids back to school yet. Because we need to pass the covert relief package. We need money to be sent out the door to these schools, and it's beginning to feel like to may and not just beginning it's been like this for a while. They're using our Children as leverage in order to achieve all sorts of political goals, and in the end, it's really costing our Children a great deal. Yeah, That's right, Ben. I mean, you know that teachers unions are very powerful political special interest and the Democratic Party has long been aligned with them. It's very difficult for the party to separate themselves from them. By the science here is really clear. And we in the Democratic Party often tells us to follow the science Well, the science over the course of last 12 months has shown that schools are relatively safe when you look at contract tracing The people who are getting are catching Covitz are doing it outside of the school settings s O, You know, we're all for a mitigation efforts were all for making sure that you know, reasonable measures are taken in order for us to open schools full time. But here effects County is one of the five or six best funded public school systems in America. Money is not a problem here. Money is not holding us back from making the right decision. We have more money per pupil than the private schools in the area that have been open five days a week. For the past year, those students are going risk free to school down the road. And that's the that's the economic on a gap in the inequality that we're creating in our system. Listen Ah lot of parents I know are looking at not re enrolling their Children. Next year because there's not a guarantee that there will be school when those parents and those students leave. That reduces the funding for that, Connie if they want more money, all they need to do is start providing the services the taxpayers are paying for. And those students in those people's will stay in the system..

"The two districts We are expecting a sick out are both in the South East Valley there. The Gilbert and Chandler School District's Gilbert Public Schools plans to have students start tomorrow, but they will use a hybrid learning model for one week before returning to regular classroom learning. Meanwhile, and Chandler, they are back to full in person learning tomorrow. We just keep looking at the statistics of how grim everything is getting. That's the president of the Chandler Education Association, which is, of course, part of the Arizona Education Association, which represents about 20,000 teachers across the state. That's Katie Nash, the president of the C E. A. They're telling her TV partners at ABC 15 the teaching convey a different profession. When it comes to the risks. It's not the same thing is being outdoors. It's not the same thing as being at a grocery store where your spread out It's not the same thing as being in an office building where you can kind of limit your contact with folks. You know, it's kind of going back and forth over the weekend on this, I posted something on my Twitter account. It's actually pinned to my account at Jim Sharp, J. I am S a J r P E at the end of sharp from Dr Anthony Fauci. The default position should be to try as best as possible within reason to keep Children in school or to get them back to school. If you look at the date of the spread among Children and from Children is not really big at all. So let's try to get the Children back, Fauci says. Um State Superintendent Cathy Hoffman tweeting over the weekend. That she wants Governor do C to order schools to remain in distance learning for a limited two week period to align with quarantine protocols. You know, when I talk to teachers that they're the ones that are being asked to go back for in person instruction there worry for their lives. So I found myself in the unusual position of living with a teacher. Who wants her kids in school. Right is on my wife's, a public school teacher who on Lee knows of one other teacher personally that has gotten covert and they got it in a situation other than being in a classroom. But at the same time defending teachers because there's some guy posted the Hun my Twitter account teachers unions want the schools kept closed. They're enjoying their paid vacations, and I'm like, hey, vacations. Your teacher teaching from home is not easy. And if you're teaching from home while your own kids their home, that's a nightmare. So this is not any kind of a vacation? No. Yeah, I just think that the data shows what 15% of all of the cases in the state come from those under the age of 20. And if you if you take out the teenagers, I think keeping elementary schools open is a very safe proposition, according to Dr Fauci, according to Ah, lot of people well, unfortunately, we don't have a surplus of teachers. We can let them make the choice on whether they're going to come to the classroom or not. Even if we leave it up to the parents on whether they want to send their Children to the classroom or not. We do not have a surplus of teachers know so it is. It's you've gotta either convince them that it's safe to come back or you're gonna have to just put up with the online learning. Yeah, no. And it's uh, you know, I settle earlier that you know, there's nothing black and white about this. Uh, the only but one of the things that is definitely black and white is online. Learning is terrible for my kids. They're not doing well at all with it, and I don't think it's because the teachers are doing a lousy job. It's just not It's just not working out for them. I know a lot of parents who feel the exact the same way about their kids. There are some exceptions, though, out there like some of these kids who are very technologically oriented and stuff, and they're gonna probably end up in a stem profession. They're doing pretty well there. Thousands of kids in Arizona that are home schooled every year even before the pandemic, could you very well, That's right, but but for ones like my kids, you know crying about going back to online learning. It's just Ah, it's more like an take us with you. 6, 48 and Katia are time for entertainment news brought to you by Bob if I Arizona's premiere, cruel sculpting provider offering free in person and virtual consultations that frees me AZ calm because of the cove in 19 surge in Southern California TV and film production, essentially shutting down sank after the union that represents actors and the Producers Guild both agreed Sunday night to call for a temporary production pause something most studios and streaming platforms have already done.
