"And so whenever I saw this ad in the paper, again, being 22 and 60 grand in debt, and it says adult entertainment make $2000 a week. I really had no clue even what that meant. And so I look back now and I kind of think, you know, do many women really have the opportunity to give informed consent because informed consent implies that you understand really what you're getting into and what the ramifications and everything is of that. And I really had no clue. So I showed up at this place, assuming it was maybe like a webcamming studio or maybe, again, a strip club. And then I learned what a brothel is and what actually happens there. And it was really quite a culture shock because it was treated so nonchalantly by the madam. She's like, just go get this license from the city of Edmonton and you'll be here and yeah, then we fuck for money. That's what we do. And those were her exact words to me and it was just said like nothing. And so I remember kind of being like, no, no, you know, I'm not one of those women. I can't do that. Because I just had only ever had exposure to really a lot of harm in social media. It was either glamour or the harm. And I didn't really see myself as either of those people. I didn't see myself as this hedonistic 22 year old that wanted to go randomly have sex with strange men after strange men. And I didn't see myself as a victim of trafficking or anyone forcing me to be there. So it was this like, well, who am I? Is this what I align with? Again, just so, so green. And so I didn't know anything about boundaries, I was new..

Jim Hanson and Jack Posobiec Talk Freedom Conveys Sweeping the Globe

"We are joined by the ambassador of trucker Stan, the man himself Jack posobiec. Hey, brother, how you doing? Yes, it is honk master posto. I've come down from the great wilds of the north and really to tell you how this thing has spread like a Prairie fire across the entire northern tier of this border, we're also now getting reports through telegram and getter and just all the different chats out there that there are freedom convoys now going across Europe, specifically we're talking about in Vienna, the actual liberation of Vienna in this Brussels in Belgium, and then even in France, they've called it the combo de la liberte, is now amassing outsiders. Those sound great, the convoy de la lique is amassing outside of Paris. President Macron has deployed armed police vehicles, armored police vehicles, the riot squad right controls to try to block them from coming into Paris so it really looks that this weekend is going to be an inflection point, not just Ottawa, not just that ambassador bridge, not just Edmonton coming up towards Calgary and Alberta and then Manitoba as well all across the Canadian border. You're now seeing this in Europe. I'm getting reports of Romania, New Zealand. This is coming in all over the place.

"Co you must be nineteen and remember stay cool and always play responsibly so we literally can talk about whatever we want and lock. The nfl is big right now. I lost her survival pool a couple of weeks ago. Pick tennessee Wasn't such a good pick. So now i have limited interest in the the Survivor pools. But i am dialing in more to the super bowl odds. I don't think anybody is shocked by the tampa. Bay buccaneers plus five hundred. The buffalo bills buffalo was a little shaky early on in the regular season. Those really good aren't they. They look to be really good. We'll see anyone in that group that catches your eye like the green bay packers and plus eleven hundred. I feel like marley. Green bay should be a little bit better odds than little higher. I think they're a better team. Anyone catch your eye well. I didn't know the rams were as good as they are. And so. so there's there that's who i'm going to say you know like arizona's off to this amazing start but i don't know i just like the rams i i think there's a better chance detroit doesn't win a game. How long have they saw long time. Like the lions terrible since forever. Yeah usually get hammered. Every time he admitted your browns fan right. And now i mean it's it's fashionable be browns fan. I i like the look. I'm a bit surprised the kansas city. She's not a bit a lot surprised ebbing. They struggled pretty early in the regular season. I thought they'd find their way and they just don't seem to be finding their way. But have you seen the odds speaking of the detroit. Lions to go winless who the regular season like. Do you think there's a chance they go. Winless of there is a chance. But how good of a chance do you think you gotta think they're gonna win somewhere. No right yeah. I think so but the odds right now according to kubeck dot. Co and and you can put money on this. They will go winless plus nine hundred minus three three three three that they do not go. When in the case of drags my one of my favorite movies boulder. Yeah and you remember the scene where the manager gets them in the shower. And he's yelling adam and he turns around to his coach and he says coach losses. How many losses. We got goes. We got a lot of losses. Say so that's what i think of what i think of the lions masses. Well you can check it all out online.

"A fan of the edmonton weiner's sacher. Just a fan of the sport. In general it doesn't appear that you've had much of the way of growing pains in making the jump from the toronto maple leafs from the east to the west to the edmonton honors. Has the transition for you to this point. Really been a smooth as it appears been It's been pretty smooth and it's been it's been really fun but obviously when you when you move cities and windows moving you're picking up moving your family. There's there's some growing pains there with getting a house and getting a new car and getting situated but from a hockey and point and from a teammate standpoint. it's been unbelievable. and and the city's been incredible breezy point here. So everything's been really good. And i think the auto credit for the guys for being so welcoming because we do have a bunch of guys who amend and that's exceptionally when you're kicking around all this stuff at the end of last year that you know you're in discussions with the leafs. Is there a way to make it fit. You probably had a feeling one way or the other. But what's that decision like for someone who's at home plan for the leafs and you can see kind of where this is heading like. What's that last couple of weeks like a lot of sleep. The it's It's a hard time just because there's so many moving parts and and it's not just the hockey decision the vision the family decision to i need ten months. But i'm timing. I dunno seven months summertime and thinking about you know. where is your son. Grow up your wife's moving ways. She's from toronto. Atlanta's and i always kind of having a family here have. Both of our families are in charles. So it's not just a hockey situation. It's it's a ally situation but we're really happy with with the decision obviously and tamaki implant. It was so easy. We've definitely like. I said that i thought would would work really well and then instead of four but one of the most important parts fat precision was actually born outside and and the city and seeing where. We haven't seen where theo or summer grow up and alanna never been then so when she got there and was able to see all those things that we've been easier decision process and we're really happy. So you're you're playing with austin matthews. Who's probably the best shooter in the game or next to oversee the best shooter in the game and chances are you're going to go to edmonton and now you're gonna. You're you got to play with mcdavid or dry seidel. It's not like it's not like you're getting short thriftier. Like what have you noticed among these great players you've got to.

"I don't know how you fix it. I mean like people. Can you know all they've got to make changes while you've got the same players you're not trading those players. You're not changing those players. How can those players be better more consistently even their own team. Says the same thing. Jake muslim who. I a feel or sense of moslem that. There's there's not a lot of bullshit jake. Muhsin agreed and so he said at the beginning of the year we we've learned a to be a little more mature in our game. Yeah well right now. They need to stick their noses in. They need to get their hands dirty because they may think they are. They're not san. Jose deserved the win. The other night they played the night before and montreal. Toronto had four days off five days off. They should toronto. Should've skated those guys into the ice. And it didn't happen and not much is happening throughout that lineup. With the exception. I mean michael hutchinson and his game wasn't very good right now. They've got the injury maroshek. Sounds like he's getting healthy. Jack campbell for the most part is has been fine if not better than fine but then you look at the defense. You mentioned muhsin david camp. Who's a real good defensive forward. His numbers aren't good defensively. Their power play isn't like you're the coach your sheldon keefe. You're looking at it. Gone aside from juggling that lineup. Where do you start. Just start with the power play and say okay. It's been it's been five games but really it's been two games. Yeah i've been six games. It's been two games because matthew knives visas about but everybody's hung up on the setup whether mourner belongs in the middle or on the wing against san. Jose couldn't get in the zone right no matter what your setup is. They couldn't get in the zone so they're not sharp. They're not right. Some of it can be cured with with a little bit more as we used to. Call a little as my dad. You say a little more elbow grease right like you get you get to work here. All all throw allies patterson from the connection. That's too there are times when a player thinks they're working hard enough and they're not like pederson says. Yeah my game's not right yet and you know what think back to his first year. How many times did you see him. Just tenaciously winning pocket. Back as an always on the puck like pavel data. Klay there right now. He may think he's doing it. he's not in. Toronto is not committed enough to get themselves over the hump to let their talent takeover. They're not yet and they better get there quick. Yeah agreed likewise with the chicago. Blackhawks this imprint. They're they're not but that's the way it appears. And i didn't think that they were going to make great strides. But i did feel that they were going to be better. And maybe that was putting too much stock. And bringing in seth jones and marc andre fleury and of course jon tapes being back on the ice leadership role and being healthy again. That's just a great. Nhl story but it just it. It feels like they're coming apart at the seams with that organization. Like on and off the ice while i was there for was there tuesday. I guess now and it was their home opener. They were playing the islanders. They played a good thirty minutes really good thirty minutes and then they just fell apart in their start. One in five their minus fifteen in goals like that is a debacle. Mine is so..

"Sergei rabovsky who's been booted in the shins for the last few years for pretty average play spencer night as well. They've got aeronautic bled back joel quenneville of course behind the bench. He said he sees a little bit of you. Know the the blackhawk copiers in this panther team. Yeah terrific start for them. Edmonton is connor. Mcdavid on pace for like two hundred twelve points again. It's crazy start for him. Their power play is unreal. I think two things that are going to be key for the oilers have been terrific so far one is the play. Duncan keith now. He's not duncan keith. From twenty ten but he has been really good yeah. He's been very good for them. That helps certainly on their defense. The others are goaltending has been more than adequate. Mike smith i and then when he got banged up a bit and he'll be back later this week. Apparently mika skin it's it's been been more than adequate if they can do that in goal man at mcdavid and dry seidel there now. They got hyman. And and pull yari. As and ryan nugent hopkins. That's that's a good team carolina. I'm surprised that they got like ten or eleven new guys. I thought they were going to have a little bit of a feeling out process. Freddie anderson's been awesome and goal for them. You know so. They're they're often running in the team. That i think they're one of the better teams but it surprised me how much they've scored early as saint. Louis a write in david perron had a hat trick. The he seems to be getting better. You like saint. Louis is where he thrives right. You're right. he went away. Played elsewhere back to saint louis. It's just the place for. Yeah all right. So we go through the undefeated. Which probably won't be undefeated when you're listening to the podcast. That's fine some great stories out of the gate so now let's kick over to the not so great and we'll start with the toronto maple. Leafs who again are playing the undefeated carolina hurricanes this monday night. So perhaps that takes the maple leafs in in a different direction. The morning skate children keefe essentially changed everything. He defended nick ritchie and rightfully. So i felt in talking about okay. Everybody in the media. Want to gravitate to nick. Ritchie isn't a fit with matthew matthews minor. Finally said okay. Well you could ask the same questions..

Every stone weight must be pretty honest. I don't know what it means but it's a good thing. I was just thinking of a five pound note. He's he's as honest as a five pound out. Yeah you can't say fair thought you count. Okay so frank comes in and they welcome him and we're back pulls somerton assigned to complain about frank and somerton says look man stand down. "Not just like one. Just the sound of one hand cropping. There's a very excellent engraving on the title pages well of mother sawyer who is the titular witch and cutty banks who is one of her bang cutty banks. There's a i think there's like a regular cutty ranks is there. Yeah i wonder if he goes inspiration from this place probably and the dog who is a key figure in the play you know i love dogs about. What might this jump up in your summation. Do you know what i actually kind of. Yes i loved the dog. he's a great character. I mean he's literally the devil but other than that he's great. He's the beagle incarnate. Oh yes very good very good. Yeah i like. There's a lot of things i like about this play. I'd like that. It's the sort of based on a true story that kind of true crime. It is very true. Crime it's a sensational doughnut. Flex and should be it should be. It's this sort of sensational small town. Witch hunt story. It is very like a lot of the It crime dramas. You get where. It's like this quiet. Scottish town experiences. Incredible things serial killer. Yeah no why someone being murdered here. We don't know what to do it. Is that kind of. And it's it's an interesting mix of player. I think you're saying this to like Et cetera et cetera. Of the three. That we know. William rally you know from the change language. We covered in season one. What do you remember about william rally. He was the bishop. He wasn't literally a bish of liked to play. You played the fat bishop in a game at chess which is a thomas. Middleton play He in thomas middleton collaborated a lot. They wrote a lot of places together here. He's collaborating with decker. and ford. i'm you can see his signature style in the character of cutty banks who own most definitely was a character he wrote for himself to money. He's that kind of like bumbling clown sort of character it's very rally. Ask clown so. There's that then you have thomas. Dekker who we haven't met yet on the podcast. He does a lot of city comedies. And he's often writing about working class characters or sort of characters that wouldn't you wouldn't necessarily quote unquote expect to be the subjects of drama right. So he's not writing court dramas. He's not writing stuff about kings and queens and nobility. he's writing about the ordinary people like dickins a bit like dickens. Yeah and he's a bit dickensian in his kind of social commentary. While i'm in say he's you know i i don't know that much about him personally but his plays certainly. Are you see a lot about kind of the plight of the average person. And he's he's quite thoughtful about very so you wouldn't say that they were decadent. A plume decadent no. He's not a decadent playwright. Someone's doing god like looking for. What do you think. My boss sound like blown headphones off. Come on the constant source Noise a quick one. So you have decker and you've rally and then you have ford and john ford is kind of the new guy on the scene at this point if kid on the block sort of the new kid on the block. He's got some great poppit and now he's been brought up to the big leagues with the well established rally and decker. So he's kind of like. I don't wanna say he's an apprentice on this because that's the kind of specific actual thing that people did but he's sort of the the young buck or the less known.

"And so Joey started kicking around the locker room and he was he was working with the equipment guys and took about a year. He was under the tutelage of Sparky Lyle kulchytskyy who was the longtime equipment manager here and Sparky started training wage, you know how how to work around the locker room and you know, we started vacuuming the the dressing room floor and and he'd bring water bottles out for practice and and he, you know, finally after several months he found this routine. He loved it the guys loved having him around and he became you know, and I iconic figure of of the Edmonton Oilers and So that then turned into the eskimos the Edmonton Eskimos saying well, let's get him working in the Eskimo locker room. And the equipment guide there was Dwayne manager Jack that both those guys are friends of wanted to this day. I've known them a long long time and both of them looked after not only did they train Joey as to what to do in the locker room them and make him feel comfortable and make everyone feel comfortable around him, but they they devoted their lives to the guy both of them. Did they did so much away from the dressing room Steve there with Sparky and and Dwayne are absolutely remarkable. Remarkable human beings for what they did. It's no easy task looking after someone with Down Syndrome Joey was living at home with his mother at the time and and and these guys so, you know, he had a place to go, of course at 9:18 to return home all the time and and these guys, you know spell juice So much of their time with them not just in the locker room, like I said, but but away from the field and the rink and he get that you sometimes right. He actually talked to the team when they needed a pick-me-up or something like that. He actually off the dressing room. Yeah. So the only thing he didn't do because it just just didn't work out that well is actually worked game days on the bench. He wasn't on the bench and in fact everyone became fell in love with Joey because he would watch the games from the stands and would sing the national anthems. Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah, and he would belt them out invite you to look it up on YouTube and so not only did the city begin to fall in love with this guy the the country did and then the world did with with what he did in his connection with the two teams so he could stay connected to the whole team his whole life..

"Like it's it's not like you're going to the beach and you can stay six feet away from someone right Yeah I hope are like definitely canceled. The biggest thing for us this changed and it sounds like a very small. Whiny thing is the dog parks. You can't have your dogs off leash anymore and how that was how we were getting outside a lot. I didn't care that gym's closed. I didn't know there wasn't a lot that bothered me but like to get that little bit of space outside with my dogs at the end of every day. That's been kind of weird John know how I mean. Is there an allowance for like exercise during the day or is it just like only go out for like groceries medical work? I know that here playgrounds have been closed. Which is interesting but I guess you can't properly senators them I mean you never could. To begin with a totally wasn't a big concern up until now. All recreation facilities are closed and lake provincial parks and stuff to for us like we could still go to a park on the river valley with our dogs. But you have to keep them on leash which is weird. It would be so sad for guys to stay on their leashes I think there's some sort of weird like people the first Saturday that most things closed here in Edmonton there is a lineup of forty cars. Deep going into our normal dog park on a Saturday morning and I think people were like. Oh well we're we're outside so it's okay to gather here so I feel like that had to be taken away from us to like demonstrate the seriousness because in Edmonton it was said that like quite a few cases where community spread which is not good. It means people were listening so I understand it but it's probably also one of the first things I'll go back to when this is over so we're people pretending to have jobs or they dislike buddying with friends being like. Let's go walk your dog so first of all. I don't think there's anything wrong with going a dog park to interact with dogs. If don't have one 'cause dogs are you can learn. We would get there and you know there were like ten people shoulder to shoulder in a group of other dogs. Were off here. They were using it as an opportunity to socialize which I understand but they weren't all the rules and so like it was just so silly but I don't know I was getting really frustrated. I think we just taken away because people were like this is fine.

I don't need to be told that during a traumatic pandemic that I need to have started like a drop shipping business. I trusted you. I mean I know you've been hustling you're hustling cupcakes for a long time and as much as people like romanticized. That all like baking company idea I know just from conversations with you you know it was it is really important to me for a long time And I I built such a good community that way when I moved to Edmonton and started that but he I just. I don't think people should feel bad. If they're not productive right now or not hustling or not working out. It's driving me crazy. All of the fat phobic and weird food phobic stuff. I'm hearing about like Oh at the end of this. I'M GONNA have to workout double and it's just bullshit. Just keep it keep it away and you're obviously don't want to get into personal deal sterling but. I know a few people have mentioned. Say Like I'm guessing. You're you're counseling. Switch like an online format and everything mine is already online. Yeah that's been really beneficial for me Have they like? I'm just by just sort of sparked the curiosity of like have they talked about like I mean. Obviously there's not really like a book to go by to like help deal with the world shutting down. There's similar things but kept they kind of been working with you to be like. How can we 'cause I mean like I my my degree like my bachelor's psychology and they did not there is no curse that from your perspective to Yeah like I mean. Sort of things are important to them Yeah a lot of my friends being like entrepreneurs small business owners or you know like it's just it's encouraging to see what they share. I find I need to stay a little bit more in my bubble legally Yeah I've just been limiting my other idle time on the Internet. What sewing. What's the vibe been like because I think you've sort of shifted out of the small business thing now right I think we're mission on quotas? So yeah I was running resorting. The baking company like fall time up until two years ago and now I'm mostly I teach cooking classes still on occasion Those I'm not sure what's happening. So one of the places I work is the city of Edmonton for that. And they've they've had to postpone any of that stuff in close recreation centers of course because it's most responsible to do till we figure this out so right now we're planning for winter I don't know I was thinking about this. I don't know what I would have done if I was still running my business fulltime. It's a it was a food based business and it was pop up and you know it was lots of busy like pop up in a restaurant for three hours and you know hundred people come through so I don't think that model would have worked although we did a lot of delivery stuff Which I'm seeing. A lot of people are succeeding in that way. Even a lot of businesses without like online stores or Websites for pickup and delivery are kind of moving towards that model through Instagram facebook So yeah it's been. It's been encouraging to see like some businesses. I follow have had some busiest yet Just because people are kind of picking.

"February twenty fifth NHL trade deadline this year. What is the dynamic right now, and who is playing slash trading slash managing for their job. Hate the stuff, but we all know part of the business. The reality GM is certainly on the hot seat, Ken Hitchcock. They said was this year. And then we'll see I mean, if they made changes next year at the top, then the changes could come everywhere. But I also think that the owner has made it pretty clear he expects to make the playoffs this year their season ticket renewals. Go out soon. I'm some of their Rogers place weeds are up after three years were in the third year. Those are going to go out soon there's wide ranging hockey and business decisions that have to be made with the Edmonton Oilers. The first round pick is interesting because one thing I didn't think of until after I read it after a road. It was I'm sure that's going to be protected in some way for sure for example, if they make a deal is it going to be top three protected top pick protected what? Exactly. Are they going to be looking at? I'm not sure they're gonna get away with top ten. Protect would imagine all depends on what you're getting back. Right. If you're getting a home run back. No protection. Yes. Beginning the home run back the chance that that is not going to be a lottery pick anyhow, right? And what do you say like some of these teams of dine will protect it from one to three or one to eight or one to ten this year. And if you don't get it this year, then you get whatever next year right Edmonds bet on itself to be better next season. But then again, they did that this year someone who would know was saying to me that he thinks it's more likely the first round pick gets dealt then pull gets dealt if they go and make that deal ause on that is that because the marketplace is depressed for v you can't keep secrets in the NHL anymore. Nobody watches play RV everybody talks about pull Yar v. Everybody has seen him play either in Bakersfield or with the Edmonton Oilers. Everybody's well acquainted with you know, what the issues are with player via and even. The fact that the discussion has been had and the name has been out there for a little while. Now does that raise red flags about Yari? It's seldom I know what happens more so than ever. But is seldom that someone who is that higher? Pick is available that quickly. That's true. But like I said, Jeff I've heard there are people in the organization who say we have to be patient with this guy that we don't have a lot of heavy bodies who can play. And he's a heavy body who we still think could potentially play one of the guys I've heard that Edmonton had some interest in. And I don't think this was very recent. But a while ago was Jake Virtanen from Vancouver and a year ago. You might have looked at Jake Virtanen and said, Nope. And now you're looking at Jake for tan, and you see a path you see ineffective player a guy who can play in your top nine in the NHL. I gotta think that there's people in Edmonton saying why can't pull you RV the same way. I do believe there people there who wanna hold onto. Him as much as this is the decision of the general manager, Peter Shirley has the hands on the wheel on this one and on and on these deals..

All right Kendra, we're going stop in. Now, you're gonna tell the story about. What happened at this wedding? It was the wedding of your best friend, tell us everything. And then we're going to try and help you with this situation. But don't leave any details out. Okay. Okay. Solely my husband, and I wrote wedding three weeks ago and atr table. There was a another couple. They are each they were fun and super chill, and we had a good time getting along with them. We talked on nights and see drink a lot. We were kind of playing on her phone. So we exchanged numbers. And once the drink started flowing kinda talked about like what her and her husband were into and what my husband were to. And we kinda had some seem things except she told me that her and her husband are in an open relationship, and she likes to have fun with women. Okay. So we kind of part on and leader on the knights came up to me. And she's like I have to tell you your husband is very attractive. And I was like, well, I know so I had to tell him, and he kinda got all cocky, and then we were kind of joking about bringing her to a room and totally joking. And then at the end of the night, we left with them and in the back of the cab her, and I actually kissed totally playful and from what I remember the night kind of just ended in me went our separate ways. So they went back home. And now we've been talking like in a group chat with her myself and my husband, it's kinda flirty. It's different. I feel like me and my husband have girlfriend right now. And I just kind of went hope to go ahead with this. Okay. So I made out with a dear friend of mine in college to sort of impress guys. I think that that's probably pretty typical. Michael because the look on the guys faces was so her so like a standard and like in turned on. And I think that was why we did that the point. I'm getting at it kind of. Yeah. It put a little bridge in our in our friendship, but the point I'm getting at is.
