Looking for a Final Four edge? Think offensive efficiency
"It will be Yukon against Miami and San Diego state versus Florida, Atlantic in the NCAA men's final four on Saturday. None of the teams is among the top three seeds with a number four, two number 5s and her number 9 advancing this far. That doesn't surprise Miami coach Jim Lara, who entered the tournament as a 5th seed. There's too much parody in college basketball. There's too many changes in rosters every year now. The transfer portal has created that. FAU is the 9th seat, but don't tell coach dusty may, his team is a Cinderella story. When you've done what our guys have done with so much longevity and consistency, they don't consider themselves a flash in the pan. FAU San Diego state tips off the semifinals. I'm Dave ferry.

Study says warming-fueled supercells to hit South more often
"Research suggests that a larger part of the south faces an increasing threat of deadlier storms. A new study warns that more populous southern states like Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee can expect warming fueled supercells that generate killer tornadoes and hail as they edge eastward. Experts say the supercell stormed at devastated rolling fork Mississippi is a single event that can't be connected to climate change, but it does fit the projected and more dangerous pattern. Frank Sontag Discusses the Lack of Men of God in America
"I'm very disturbed at how it seemed to me that men are afraid to grow up and be men. Your thoughts. We didn't talk off the year. We haven't talked since the last time I was on. Can I read something that addresses that? You did not know I had something I wanted to read. It'll be very brief. There was a woman named Sophie Scholl, 21 years old, raised in Germany at the beginning of the rise of the Third Reich. She fell into the Nazi youth, she found out her older brother was in a resistance movement. She saw what they were doing. And from that moment on, she went all in eventually paid the final price with her life. Speaking out against the rise of the Nazis. Sophie Scholl said this and it addresses your point about men. She said the real damage is done by those millions who want to survive. The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don't want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won't take measure of their own strength for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don't like to make waves or enemies, those for whom freedom, honor, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small mates, small, die small. It's the reductionist approach to life. If you keep it small, you'll keep it under control. If you don't make any noise, the boogeyman won't find you. But it's all an illusion because they die too. Those people who roll up their spirits in a tiny little ball so as to be safe, safe from what life is always on the edge of death, narrow streets lead to the same place as white avenues and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn. Sophie Scholl. That to me is like speaking to true manhood. There is a battle, men know it, but we've been taken out in so many ways. By culture by the church, teaching a very nice Jesus in all sorts of ways and toxic masculinity is one of the biggest lies of the evil one, masculinity, biblical masculinity is strength is honor is duty, but toxicity, the world is defining who we are right now. And we are not as men. I'll speak for myself as men that follow Jesus. We're not to be defined by the world or be to be defined by the warrior king Jesus.

Mini-Grids 101 With Erick Hersman, Co-Founder of Gridless
"To start out, Eric, I just want to talk about the mini grid economics. That was something that you and Peter talked about a decent amount, but I want a little bit more information out of you if I can. So I'm thinking about the cost to get these mini grids online, finding the location for them and keeping it running. My understanding is that you partner with people who have already built these things and you guys aren't necessarily building them yourselves, but just from working with those partners, what are the aspects you're looking at in order to get a mini grid site online? Yeah, thanks. So it's been really interesting. We've been having our crash course in energy training this last year and a half or so. And it's been interesting. It's been fun. And it's also been one of those educational experiences. So when we're dealing with mini grids, we're kind of on the edge of rural Africa that has the beginnings of electrification and not a great amount of usage yet. So if you think about it, there's 1.1 billion people around the world who don't have electricity. 600 million of them are in Africa. So over half. And that means that this continent has the most area still to be electrified, which is a massive opportunity, and Bitcoin mining is actually going to pay for that. Bitcoin mining pays for electricity to be pushed further out because the normal consumers and those locations don't actually have the usage and demand yet to use it all. And the economies of scale for a mini grid provider can be really, really, I guess, upsetting, if you're an investor, there's a tyranny of a small size problem, right? Which is, you know, you can have a mini grid and let's say a mini grid hydro is going in. He's going to put in 200 kW. It might cost him about $4000 per kilowatt to put that in. If he was put in two megawatts, it would cost him about a $1000 per kilowatt.

John Solomon Discusses China's Treaty Violations and the Wuhan Lab
"Is COVID origin secrets near the classification that in itself is exciting. Wuhan a lab's ties to China military burst into focus, talk to us about the latest things we need to know about our country, our government and the military biodefense lab in communist China, John. It's extraordinary. So no matter where we end up on whether the COVID-19 virus leaked from the lab or not, obviously the FBI energy department House intelligence committee Senate health committee all believe it did and growing other number of intelligence committees believe that. But here's the bigger question. No matter what happened with COVID-19, there is now irrefutable proof that the United States government has known since 2005 that China was violating its own treaties to not do offensive biological weapons they had an offensive biological weapons program. It was based in the Chinese People's Liberation Army at an entity called the academy of military medical sciences specifically the 5th institute. The State Department declared that in a document in 2005. Over the decade after they made that declaration, wide open evidence that the MMS that academy we just talked about was working with the Wuhan institute of virology, the place where we think the COVID-19 virus worked on. What were they working on? On Anthony Fauci's own site. On the NIH, you can find this. There was a study on anthrax. There was a study, a book, a book that said, coronaviruses as a class are going to be the leading edge of a new era of genetic warfare. That's the Chinese words, not mine. Those are the sort of things that were going on between scientists at the Wuhan institute of virology. And the academy of military medical sciences in China, the place that we said was the epicenter of an illicit bioweapons program, despite all that knowledge, despite all that evidence, no one in the intelligence committee, no one in the national Institutes of health. No one in the State Department stopped it. Millions of dollars flowed from U.S. agencies to the Wuhan institute of virology. And now we're hearing maybe also directly to the academy, the

Guest Host Duane Patterson Talks Ukraine-Russia Trench Warfare
"To the news, shall we? New York Times piece today by Mark santora. This is what trench warfare on the front line is like. It is getting pretty grizzly in the standoff between Ukraine and Russia, especially around the areas of Russia that there's just no movement. The Ukrainians have been kind of surrounded a little bit by Russia except that over the weekend where there was going to be a collapse, apparently the Ukrainian side to dig in and fought back a little bit and now it looks like there is a little movement. The other direction. The Russian forces were so close that bogdan, a Ukrainian soldier with the 79th air assault brigade, Marc santor writes, could see them digging. Digging is what to do in this forlorn stretch of scorched earth in eastern Ukraine to avoid dying. Bogdan wants the Russians to die, so he lifted the shoulder fired rocket propelled grenade launcher peered over the sandbags mounted on the edge of his trench and blasted away the digging stopped. Moments later rush and soldiers let loose a volley of automatic gunfire, then things went silent. It's none of us were around our parents were around in many cases our grandparents weren't even around when it came to stories of what World War I was like. We've seen some movies over the years as to try to depict what World War I was like with trench warfare. This is probably as close as anything we've seen or resembled in the last hundred years. And

Read the real article but also be aware of what you're consuming for your own mental health. I think the whole point of this whole was just yeah. It was just like really. Let's pay more attention to the importance of our mental health because as you experienced this weekend. There's stuff that you weren't even aware of like. I have that awareness happening to me a lot lately too. And it's just like we are all in a collective trauma still. I really do believe that. And so take care of yourselves. You guys some of our story okay. I'm just gonna do listener email because we are like super short. on time. Today this one comes from jocelyn she says i love the all talk about the tough stuff just wanted to comment on your talk about sexualization. If you wanna show your body in a bikini because you think you look good and you feel good do it but be transparent right of caption that is rooted in empowerment. Like damn i feel good instead of a caption that bates compliments like ooh. I'm such a bloated whale. Knowing people will tell you the contrary and leave you a bunch of fire. Emoji hearts hard emojis excusing think. It's dangerous differentiating between when it comes from a place of having confidence versus a place of craving validation and i think the danger increases when people chase that validation start to think that they are entitled which is when they lose sight of the collective and start only to only consider individual. Wants assad talk of a mom who said. She was sick of people telling her to stop wearing a thong. Bikini to our family waterpark. She commented that she has signed. They see her dress this way. All the time and added that kids will eventually see things. Anyway i don't i do not think there is anything wrong with sex because i think it is a natural part of life but i will not be having sex in front of a kid anytime soon. Have you ever seen that clip. I think it's Sorry this is a side tangent. It just went through my head. I think it's kenny powers. And it's will ferrell's character and they talk about this on walking in the mom goes. Oh my god our son does have sex and he goes. Let him watch so messed up. Okay maybe that's an extreme example but all to that people are no longer inclined to use discretion and forgetting that maybe there are certain things that are meant for certain time and place anyway that was from jocelyn a big debate. That brought up about like am i playing into the over sexualization that came from the patriarchy. Am i like doing what i do. Because i have collaborations with certain companies and it's a part of my business did fashion stuff. What and we talked about it being about the intention. I think she agree there. I agree with her. I think it's like i mean there's an instagram account. That's like something like Something it's something that's the word caption and it's about like ludicrous. Captions like where it's like a girl or a guy who's like scantily clad in there like i'm really worried about climate change or irrelevant caption. Yeah and it's like you're sitting on your naked in bali like what are you so worried right. You know i mean. I think the the influence or game has changed. And i like. I've dealt with that too like it has shifted greatly and so everyone's kind of trying to navigate because that is what was working like because no one was reading gaps. No one was really it and also nobody was really talking about deep stuff like that has really shifted on instagram. I think specifically. But yeah. I mean i. I don't know the answer. But i do think having an awareness again as the big thing but also like asking yourself what is intention right and is it just like i feel great today and like cute the sudas or whatever it is like. I don't know you could just be that you feel good and you're feeling yourself but just own it. Yeah anyway with today. Though i feel good you feel good. I feel like we came into this. It's look wherever evolving creatures and it feels like an insurmountable hill to climb. This was another major takeaway. They they have two percent change role so they like the example of the therapist gave it was he was like i was vegan once and it was the hardest thirty eight hours of my life and he was like you know like we tend to make these massive decisions. Like i'm gonna do this. And i'm going to go all in. I'm going to do it. And then we fail and he the the way that they showed a visual example is if a plane takes off from boston round trip flight and flies to los angeles if they're off course by two percent when they come back. They land in new york city. So it's a big over a lot of time over an amount of time. Two percent can affect great change so rather than trying to like. Change one hundred percent of things going at two percent. Give yourself the grace to take a little bit of time and make small changes that in the long run will make great change in your life. Well that's why in twelve step. They say one day at a time. And that's like big thing. I know i've heard about in a they say you know the first three months like you're gonna be in this pink cloud because you all of a sudden have these new awareness and you get tell the world you're like oh my god listen to this and you're like exciting right and then the reality sets in like. Oh this is how i live the rest of my life and you bump up against hard things in your life and you're like oh i wanna grab a drink or whatever whatever your choices is for all of them but like Yeah they that's why they say like it's more about over time consistency and you can always slip so ladle and do little literally one day at a time. I i'll tell you the to two percent changes i'm done. I'm never going through a drive. Through again i saw. I'm not saying. I'm won't eat fast food but i'm not going to go through a drive through because it's a slippery slope and that's your fucking gone through the drive thru. You're setting for yourself. You know like we had a run really long time in america that it's just unequal and so i can see why that's happening here but in this is very true. He made the point he was like. I think it's just privileged in general because so many other countries look at any american and the fact that like like. Yeah i mean this is a little bit of non-sequitur. But i don't know if you saw this news today. I do think it applies to the question. Delta airlines announced today that All unvaccinated employees are going to have to start paying more for their health insurance if they're going to be charged two hundred dollars a month for being unvaccinated and the reason why is because the average cost That average cost to delta for their employees that have had coveted onto the hospitals fifty thousand dollars. I think this has been the biggest test. And i mean we're sitting here talking about our our thoughts and our feelings on these things man. We just got cut off. But now you're you were talking about how to manage the anger. Yeah i was just saying that like i. Do you think that this has been the biggest test in not trying to control other people in kind of gone okay. They're entitled to their opinion. 'cause sitting here being like goget vaccine like that. That's our opinion we're using the platform that we have to say it. But i do think that we really have to. It's like the biggest. Let go and let god experience of my entire life because you literally cannot change other people. Unfortunately all we can do is keep talking about our opinions and give each other grace. I guess editor flight. I also think time will i think i'm away from that person who's making you angry as always a a wise thing to do and i also think that just being honest about it will lie and you feel better and i was gonna say you could just avoid her for the next couple of months like life is busy Happen to not have schedules workout. But i'm like that's not really the mature thing to do. And yeah maybe we all need to be able to say our troops and if people can handle ick great and if they can't grade that's too. We're not responsible for other people's opinions intentions right. And i think that light sometimes wore about other people. There was also a little bit of like mad at ourselves for only dealing with the way that we wanted to. "But i think it's also like ask yourself what you need and kind of scenarios because friendship. Breakup are just. It's hard to me is sometimes as romantic relationships. It's devastating and you know especially if there's betrayal of any kind or hurt feelings or whatever it is which i think there probably is on both sides at all times of any sort of breakup so just let yourself build a feeling the process that don't shame yourself because regardless of how much time it it's just a process i also think it's important to remind ourselves a people come and go in our lives like that's a great week we shouldn't. We shouldn't put pressure on ourselves to make like anyone in our lives per minute. In and the truth is you'll get past it you will. You will move on and you'll be happy and it will soon be a distant memory and i think it's also like i've always approached whether it's a friend. Break up a you know a romantic break up. It's like is it worth having this negative energy valley even when it like maybe it looked that could be a completely unhealthy approach to because i don't know that i necessarily process everything fully but i choose to just be like i wish them well. I don't wanna fight over things. I don't need this negativity and this is. I'm still friendly with all of my my exes. I don't like go out to dinner with them but like sometimes we'll share like funny stories on instagram with each other or text occasional with on birthdays. Like we're you know. Yeah even like. I had very few like massive friend breakup but even a few that i've had in my life like a couple of enough time has gone by that it's come back around and were friendly but then there's also plenty of people who like i've loved as friends like maybe i was in college. Maybe i was living in new york like that. Just fall out of your life and it's okay you know obviously care about them and wish them well but they're not in my life it'd be more and it's i'm sure they're not devastated and either so it's really important to remember like it just happened sometimes. It's the circle of life so love that point about that. We put pressure on relationships to be in our lives forever. I mean i've done this dating relationships too. And i think a lot of us do that like the program we have specifically as women like gotta find your partner your forever partner. You're even people say that about homes like your forever home and it's like let's not really how life works in my experience. It's been very much that their seasons of things in like. What did you learn from that relationship. What did they bring to you. What do you. What did you learn that. You don't want that relationship brought to you in like. How did it form you to the person that you've become now and those are the kind of positives that we can focus on because you know there is pain related to it. And i'm not trying to say sidestep that obviously like i'm a feeler of feelings so feel it but also you said take a step back and ask yourself. Maybe what you learn and try to focus on that and the positives of what that relationship brought to your life. And even the break-up brought to your life versus like focusing on the negative aspects. Okay this one actually comes to you. Chip this is from wheeler and he says chip. How are babies made order by wheeler. That is Do you think that you do. I probably do. Well tell us a stork flies and drops it in your house. These are made from love. Wow they're made out of love and desire see that that's where the answer i think we have sometimes made accidentally you know. I've fallen in that category myself. So he made a baby accidentally. Oh i was a mistake. You're not a mistake. Do not ever you know parents from mistake i. It wasn't that they didn't want another kid. They just one another kid so soon. I just yeah. It was a happy accident so yeah sometimes babies are made out of you know love or accidents love or lots of sikua. I know what's the wheeler that was. You're gonna have to send me a screen shot of that. Because i don't have you ever listen to this guy. That kid roy now i feel a lot though. Yeah i don't know what there's a big transition there that missing but if wheelers listening he'll laugh okay so this comes from pamela and she actually wrote in a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if you remember me talking about this bathing suit. Pictures that i posted in the knockout really in my head and i was like wait in my doing exactly what i'm getting since frustrated with as far as like the patriarchy is concerned playing into this. I'm over sexualizing myself. And like i just really got in my head about. It was talking about that on instagram. And also on the podcast. And i read this email from pamela and she said that she was in fact asking herself. Like what's up with all these keeney pictures. And i was thinking when i read it in the podcast. Oh gosh that like namie cringe. And i felt like i was being judged so she must have heard that one and she wrote back in and i just wanted to read her email because if i was so kind but she said hey kelly first of all i am so sorry if my email about keeney pigs made you still judge. I realized that didn't come across quite right. I think what was amazing about the entire moment was that i realized how programs i am to think women should act a certain way or project a certain image it. Amy step back and evaluate myself. Why am i defaulted to thoughts like that. I am the one who has unintentionally judged female sisters so so for that. I truly apologize. I'm so proud of you as a person primarily because you aren't afraid to do the work to understand yourself that most people don't or won't do and you're sharing that journey so we all learn you're rockstar. i love you grow. Basically made me cry but I love that because it was one woman saying to another woman like well. Your thought your overthinking made me kind of ask ourselves some questions and we as women are particularly hard on ourselves and also each other. you know. it's like it's at constantly feel this thing in my mind that re realistically like my own insecurities pop up like about other women. And i start judging them or having some comments to say or alienating a woman in some way whatever way that i don't know feels better to me in the moment and it just doesn't feel good to be that way anymore and so i do like that. We're starting to ask these questions. there's this whole thing about like powered women in power. Women think it takes a lot more than just that these are the bigger questions in the big actions that we have to start asking ourselves and they're fucking hard to do. It takes a very secure very loving it. Confident woman to support other women and because we've been taught not see. I think and so. It's to get rid of that old programming to teach that young girls instead of the other way around. I think it's going to be awesome if we can do it. And i'm just glad he's. Conversations are starting so pam. Thank you so much for that. You know that really didn't make my day. Love that idea to well. That's really all god. I think we're running out of time for listener emails me. He does keep them coming to d. edge at velvets edge dot com. If anyone else wants to put up on the spot. I'm always glad to do that anyway. "Don't mind that one brooks in a salon and she said my all time favorite is. Did you sit in sugar because you have a pretty sweet ass slap somebody. They said that to me when i first met them. This is from casey. She said i feel like always message. You but i'm the victim of a cheesy pickup line and we are married. My husband asked me what my name was. And i told him casey and then he proceeded to go in into his phone held it up and said oh spelled like this and i said yes he said nice now all i need is your number and she said smack my head which is why i gave it to him. Gave it to him on. Never know. But i actually think that was really smooth to especially if you're like talking to someone for a little bit like at a bar for instance And then you're just like oh wait. Is this how you spell it like. Yeah but it's already like up in it so you're gonna of course you're gonna give it right. It's a creative way to be like. Have your number you if you want to communicate further with somebody like you did that. You have a sweet ass. you're just like what aster. Yeah yeah. I loved it okay. We have a couple of questions. This one For me but i would love your insights because we've talked about friend breakup before and obviously i went through a very public win and so people keep these questions coming like. I'm an expert. Because of that. And i'm like i don't know how to navigate this but let's see what we can do. It says kelly just recently ran into a person. I used to be friends with a falling out and it was really hard. I'm wondering have you ever run. Into kristen in nashville. It just feels so weird. I've been feeling since all her and it was two days ago. Would love to hear your thoughts or even a podcast on how to navigate. That feel like we do the work but win. But then when you see the person it just seems like all of a sudden feelings come up again actually have not run into kristen. I'm probably going to speak. Just because i said that i did run suggestion last week. I told you this justin anderson. Yeah we had to upgrade like he definitely saw me but don't care care have noticed. What's her presence name. I can't even remember og. J. j. is teasing a run for the school board in wines. Referencing him when i was talking about celebrities. Who have you know a lot of meetings like maybe let's stay out of this link is but anyway Yeah i have not run into kristen. And i'm sure i'm certain at some point out will and i totally understand where it brings up all the feelings personally. Do you feel like. I've worked through a lot of them but like i know iranians are her. It would bring so much stuff in service. It's definitely not like you know. I think we all like can hold onto certain pieces in. It just takes time to get through them so i would say undermine vice not only advice would be let yourself feel the feelings that come up because that's just a trigger you know it's like it brings up what happened. It's a reminder like when you run into an ex-boyfriend sort of like gut punchy. For a second but just remember to y you guys moved on in the friendship and Hopefully you can.

"A bit like the raising money thing that you you mentioned in some ways but it's kind of strange because it comes from a hackers. This hacker stole and gave back six hundred million dollars that he stole. I don't know really exactly what happened. But he he just had this turn of events in his in his life and he decided he was gonna give this money back and because he gave it back it was a. It was a form of crypto currency that the company was using it gave it back and they hired him to work in their security network. Which i don't know. I mean people might be like well. How would you ever trust this person. But the reality is like obviously there is something in him. That has some sort of conscious that said this is not the right thing and he couldn't get away with it even though he had six hundred million dollars in so i love the idea of coming back the part of us inside that i do believe everyone has that little voice may be buried more than others but that intuition like this is not the right thing. I can't be the selfish person. I'm gonna give this bag. And then it worked out because he got a job so i love that they gave him the chance to really make it right and it seems like a really awesome comeback story to read while you know. It's funny too because it also shows that the security company is kinda smart like he asked you what you want the best people on your team you know like you want to you want you need somebody on your team to think that is able to out. Think the bad guy well right. He obviously was able to do something. Six hundred million dollars later like right. So i mean in for anything. That was like the most incredible audition ever ever. It reminds me of. I didn't know about this that there was there was a it was called operation paper clip and it was a secret. Us intelligence program that hired six. I'm looking at wikipedia. Right now It they hired sixteen hundred german scientists engineers and technicians that were taken from former nazi germany giving employment in the us government afterward to and they basically they were hired into like nasa and stuff and the thought was that the us government would rather have these people working for us than working for our enemies. Yeah and you know. A lot of people were sort of forced for you know. I'm a this is probably going to get into some water. But i can't imagine that there were good people in nazi germany. Who felt like they did what they had to do to survive. You know what i mean. So they did fucking terrible things but these like the brilliant minds that were scientists and engineers and stuff that were part of the regime. Why let them fall back. Fall into the hands. Further hands of bad people when you can redeem themselves and have them work for the better part of the world so it's a sort of similar story i. It's a bit of attention. While i have another like i think ladybugs means i did. Look that up It does say that many cultures believe that ladybugs come bearing good luck in well-being in france when a lady bug land on this is from on medium dot com in france. When a lady bug lands on you your linemates will soon be gone. I mean sorry. You're ailments will soon be If you kill it deliberately curse yourself with sadness in brief in belgium crawls across the lady's hand. She will be married soon. Britain's ladybugs announce the nice weather and italian mums believe that their child will live a life of luck. Lady bug lands on their baby's cradle insisting l. k. While i'm gonna go ahead and just gonna lead up the like marriage or whatever all other ones were but just say that. I'm going to get good luck toward sitting here reading about good news trying to keep it positive. So maybe universe. That was the reward of this action. I know all right. What else you got you got another enforce vissel funny because on that much of a guy. But i did to pop up on a few things on instagram today. And there's a story about an english golfer. David skins had his game. He gained his pga tour card for the first time in his career and Just eight months ago. he was adored. Ask driver like the keys. He has been trying for like sixteen years. Mommy's on the pro off circuit Like add up on the pga tower. Yeah his perseverance. Persevere payoff sixteen years. I love arizona. It's pretty amazing. Yeah air saying it like it's sold and i'm like shots fired man thirty nine years old for an athlete. That's that's a late time to like sort of hit your peak goal in ray though i mean. I think it's like it's just a great lesson. It's like whether you're an athlete or not. Like i don't think it's too late ever too late to really like chaser dream. He following your dreams go to work hard for it. This is the one. I want to end to end. Just because i love this story so much but Speaking of never quitting following your dreams this is sort of more of a case of you. Just never know what life what's going to unfold in life and so just really being open to what the universe need you to show up do and what your purposes and just keep following that maybe staying out of your own will and letting you know god's will or your higher power or whatever it is you wanna say guide you into the place you're supposed to be. But during the pandemic there is a man named john butler. He's eighty four years old from derbyshire england and apparently he has this voice. That is like butter. It's just like very tranquil calming presence per one of the listeners. Voice like a warm glass of milk and he somehow got someone started him. A youtube channel called the spiritual unfoldment with john butler during the pandemic because so many people were suffering from anxiety and so he has these words of wisdom. You know eighty four year. Old man is obviously lived a really long life but he will have his words when the wisdom that he brings to this youtube channel with that soothing voice that has now helped hundreds of thousands of people. Apparently he had like a hundred eighty two thousand subscribers worldwide and people are saying that it's massively helping them to learn how to meditate to sued their anxiety to get through the days overcome depression and all of this stuff and he is eighty four years old and all that he says about. This is He said this is the quiver. Me said so. Many people have this problem with an agitated mind restless mind and because one instinctively seeks for some sort of balance people look for rest or peace. Don't they if something in my voice. Conveys that restfulness than thank god for that. I don't know quite how it happens. But i'm just quietly. Glad to be able to share what i love so if you want to check him out again it is hall spiritual unfoldment with john butler. Apparently i'm actually gonna go check him out. Because i just love that story and like i love the wisdom coming from our elders like i think that we completely neglect so much wisdom. If we don't pay attention to people like that like he's an eighty year old man. He's obviously yes like. Why would we think at thirty. Why would i think that. I know anything more than a person like that and so i'm so just excited about that kind of thing happening and just also like sort of what you're saying like you're never too old. You don't know what the universe has planned for you And if you can help someone else out with some skill set that just comes really naturally to you. I think that's why we're here. That's amazing yeah. I love that one. Did you have anything else. Is that your final. The piece i'm well. We actually have a bunch of listener emails this week. And so let's see what we can get through. We got a lot of feedback from our pickup lines. Last week i got. I got a couple that were sort of like highlights as i wanted to share with you guys. This was actually from. This website called Instead dot single that someone sent me but it said so. The guy says to the girl. Hey when steal my compass city and she goes oh what the fuck. Yes sweet but you got two choices. You prefer burgundy or more of an olive green one. I think these guys were friends. And so this is the guy saying and she says she says olive green day or whichever one is bigger so he writes back. Okay okay. i'll be sure to wear that on our first date. Speaking of when is that. Oh.

"Have you ever heard of this. Yeah i love this website. If you're ever feeling down. I mean it's literally one. Click to all this good news. Good talks is a good gifts how to get involved. There's a lot of different things they do. So i picked out a couple articles that i thought were really cute but this one is called. Black cat meows. Black cat's meows led rescuers eighty-three-year-old owner after she fell into a ravine. So you know. Black cats are really known for being bad luck and like people always you know. Oh god there's the black cat you're doomed in this situation. This is definitely. Don't judge white cap. Don't judge the cat by its cover. Y'all because this cat so apparently like the eighty three year old went missing and they looked for forever and no one could finder. This is an england and literally. The neighbors are finally like no word is going to get out and do it. And they launched this. This search party and the cat kept like ferociously meowing and it was a. They said the cat very attached to as they started to pay attention at the cat wouldn't leave them alone and they've finally like follow the cat. It takes them in this infamous maze. Basically of this field and they're the crop is so tall standing seven feet tall as it was fascinating that the cat could even know but she had gotten she had gone into the field and tumble down. And so she was down a seventy foot ravine where she obviously would have passed away. She had stayed there forever. she couldn't get out. There was a bunch of barbed wire. She had fallen through but the police were able to come and rescue her. And she is alive. And well today here. Kitty kitty kitty. Things the black cat who would've thought yeah judge. Don't judge something by the way it looks. You know they say. Don't judge my journey. Just don't even know. We don't know what it's funny because i feel like cats often two or about to be like kind of selfish like ed right. Yeah like it's not. It's not a lassie. You know right room into lots see lassie. I forgot that show lassie. I mean i feel like if you're if you're around lassie. Danger was comment. you know. No danger actually follows last. He says she can macgyver her way. Out of it yeah. Play murders t. Rowe when angela lansbury shows up in your town you gotta get. Somebody's all right. What else you got while. I saw I was just sort of thumbing through up which is a. It's a instagram page about. Follow and just for like some like i mean you can see puppies and shit on there but like they always put cute stories and i saw this tweet that killed me because i feel like i would do something like this this this. This woman tweeted a story about our Says my parents. My parents invited all of their friends and family to a costume party and the people got there they found out it was actually their wedding and so all the pictures from the wedding like the only people that are like dress like they're going to a wedding are the parents and i think the groomsmen and bridesmaids and then everyone else looks like halloween party there. There's like an energizer bunny. a there's i mean it's so cute hot about epic wedding pictures what i mean. There's like a hab. Two people dressed up as like hammond. She sandwiches there like the cavs on. Like could you imagine if he shut to address like old people walk and the costumes are pretty epic to the i you know i. It's an amazing. I love it so much. i like. It's an example of not taking yourself so serious like just about to say. I actually love it for that reason. Alone because weddings in and of themselves people are just get so serious. And it's like their day and don't you mess it up and then this is like the opposite of that. There's all these costumes energizer bunnies. I mean sounds hilarious. What and it. Also you know it kind of makes it everybody's day suddenly you labor everyone's in everyone's participating in.

"Free But there's a lot going on the world all at the same time. So what can we do to get out of our own way and like maybe ask ourselves the question like is this worth it to fight over the topic. Can we find a middle ground that you know. Everybody's doing the best they can like the scientists even doing the work. Covert it and in the mass situation. The vaccine air literally. Doing i believe the best that they can to try to get this out of our country and out of the world. Keep people healthy and safe so all of these like conspiracy theories or let's go attack foul cheap. Because he said this he said this and then he said this he said this. It's like we're learning as we go just like we said a couple of weeks ago. Where can we give grace. And where can we. You know really like ask ourselves. How important is it. Yeah just lead with love. It's like the heaviest. These problems are how mitigate rather than fucking stir the pot right. I i don't know the answer. I mean i for me my personal approaches to just try to leave with love in how and to you know. Stay away from the fighting as much as i can. You know Which it clearly we're on here. We're talking about it This is not meant to be a fight with anybody Our personal opinions in like where we're coming from and hopefully you know to influence people to see things similarly than us like. I'm sure some people would think that that is arguing. But that's certainly not the approach that i feel like i'm taking but You know i just hope and pray that like we find a loving solution out of all of this mess because it just feels like the world is you know. Let's not we have. We haven't even touched on what's happening. Sort of you know in the west where our reservoirs are are. Drying up in forty million people aren't going to have water. i mean it's just. The world is dumpster. Fire right now and it is heavy so it is heavy. And when i told you we're trying to think of a topic for this week. I was like i literally can only think of. I know heavy stuff and how overwhelmed at feel this week has been really hard for me to even like function and go to work as an impact. I've talked a lot on this podcast. Edges absorb it all and so takes me a minute to process through that and dig myself out of this whole sometimes when i just take it all all on and feel it. I've cried every day this week and so i was like. I don't know how positive topic and make people laugh. Which is what we really want to do this. Podcast because the world is heavy and life is hard and kind of want to start your fridays with like a hit. Let's just like have a fun time and get by and support each other and all those things and so anyway. We decided we would talk about what's actually going on. But then we wanna bring some good news. Which i think we've done this before on this podcast but sometimes the news feels really overwhelming to me and like i said i have to turn it off because i'll just be like so dark and it's like wait. This is actually helping me or anyone else either just for me to keep getting deeper into this like dark place and so let's focus on some of the good things happening in the world that maybe will help us to navigate the hard things to because we'll have a little more positively in our lives. So do you have a good story. You wanna talk about this. I think this one's great for just the transition because you know for for me Going back traffic get. What's going on in afghanistan. it's like what can we do to actually positive. J.j there is a go. Fund me Account was set up by a a meema account on instagram And the me mccown artist has. I don't know what his real name is to be honest but it goes by quinton quarantine. Oh it has like seven hundred. Yeah he has seven hundred sixty nine thousand followers on instagram. I say he might be a she. So i'm gonna. I'm gonna say that because i have no idea and so are i'll just say clinton corn tino has seven hundred sixty thousand followers and said twenty and i think it's a fairly new account since twenty twenty one. They've raised over seven million dollars so they launched a a an afghan rescue mission on go fund. Me i'm just gonna. The goal was five hundred fifty thousand dollars in just over twenty four hours. They've raised nearly six billion dollars. Oh my god. What they're doing is they They're working with organizations to charter planes to fly people to safety. Yeah and you know. They're obviously focusing on people that are on the taliban kill list. So it's women it's Champion of women's rights. Lgbtq rights journalists government liaison artists and interpreters people that have worked alongside the us government Human rights lawyers And so basically it says for five hundred fifty thousand dollars. The plan was to get two planes. That would get a three hundred plus people out of the country and now they have six million dollars to basically they are going to fifteen hundred dollars represents one person on the to get them to do to save their life. So it's on kgo fund may also send kelly because her reach is much bigger. I actually shared it on my instagram story yesterday. kelly. I'll send you the link so that you can share it so people can read like i. It is legit. Who people that. They are working with to make this happen. So i'll put it description of this podcast. Jc gassing get check it out kudos to clinton quarantine. Oh because this is fucking brilliant if you ask me. It's yeah it's just a simple thing and it allows a lot of people like myself like any listener. Who wants to donate to actually make a positive change for what's going on in there and it's a it's a low lift thing on our part you know. Yeah i mean. I love a tangible thing to do i think. Sometimes it's really hard like. I'll try to find places to go volunteer something or do something to help because a lot of times that helps keep me out. You know just perspective when you help someone else. You're like oh yeah my life's pretty great actually but but it can be difficult so when you do find good organization and one that's trustworthy. I think it's really good. News to spread. Okay so i actually. I was looking at. There's this website called good news network dot org. Have you ever heard of this. Yeah i love this website. If you're ever feeling down. I mean it's literally one. Click to all this good news. Good talks is a good gifts.

"Set that i think is such a gift and i feel so grateful for teachers. I think most people did after the pandemic first time. But anyway i just i personally like. We have to keep the kids in school. I know my boyfriend. And i are like oh my gosh. They have to go to school. Like just you see in the kids how much they need that structure around their friends even and like to learn and actually have a purpose every day. you know. i think it's just so important. So if they have to wear masks. I mean kids adapt seemingly pretty easily for my experience. And they're used to it. They did it last year so like give them in school. That's how i feel. I agree i agree. It's on top of like all these cova conversations. And i agree with you. One of the biggest like to me the biggest way that i felt this week was like why do we have to just keep fighting. Like can't we just. Is there some middle ground where we can say. Hey like it's tough times right now like. Can we not just find some place to agree that this is the best for everyone. E- you know even if it's temporary or something but like can we all not just wave a little white flag and say hey like how do we work together because it's just so overwhelming to me to keep fighting and especially when you're having like celebrities you have millions of dollars in all the means possible at their fingertips speaking out about things that are getting people who are in the same situations route up to like five the topics i'm like. Oh literally. I feel like rodney king. I'm like can we not just arkansas like it's too it really is slob Everything is a. It's everything has been like pushed into dislike black and white and i don't mean that in a racial sense it's just like it's an either or and like that's not really the best way forward for the world it's like we have to choose to live in the gray a little bit because you know a lot of things are easy to figure out you know and it is impossible to please everybody you know i think the obviously the other really big stories is going on in afghanistan. And you know i i. I'm i'm not educated enough on it to really speak to it one way or the other. I mean i. It is incredibly heartbreaking to see what is happening over there And i feel for the people obviously loves my neighbors and foreign or domestic. And i don't want to see people parish under the rule of some. You know a sane government but i also don't understand. I don't understand the intricacies of these decisions. And you know the truth is is like we. We have been there for nearly twenty years and we've poured billions and billions and billions of dollars into their government and into their armed forces police forces and at a certain point like it needs to be on them to sort of keep those things running like we can't be everyone's government. We can't be everyone's so i you know part of me sort of understand like we needed to. We need to exit that country. I don't. I don't know what the right way was like. That's not for me to say. But i do find it really hysterical. I mean with the big huge roll. I saw mean that was like me. I have to pull it up so that i read it properly but i saw mean that like put into words exactly what i was feeling it says when people go from being covered nineteen infectious disease experts to afghan geopolitical scholars. And it has rain wilson from the office like rolling his eyes. And i'm like. That's exactly what i thought because i am neither so it's like hey i'm not yelling about a lot of this stuff online. Like obviously we're talking about our personal experiences with covered nineteen and what we think but like i don't fucking test to be a doctor medical or scientific expert on any of this shit and you know i feel like my stance is always like i'm thinking about we all the time and not just me like these people that are yelling about this shift to like prove some stupid political point is that what makes it feel so heavy tonight because it's not it's not about politics it's like about humanity and that's the way that we need to be thinking about this x. y. Ram actually totally agree with you. And when i say that the world has felt so heavy to me i'm like are we seriously sitting here fighting about mask when there's like literally i was watching the news and you see that terrible video of people flying off the airplane in being so desperate to get out of that country that they are hanging on to an airplane that is taking off and falling to their death in just like that was teenager. I read yesterday nova. I mean it makes me literally sobbed the other day watching. I had turned the news off knob. Because i don't want to be informed but because i get so heavy with the motions that i won't be able to function but like i cannot process how we feel like right now. What we're doing is creating issues over topics that i'm like. Y'all we need to get a real fucking problem if this is what. We're going to argue about like look at haiti right now. Even that's terrible earthquake. It's like like really guys like. Let's try to get together and for me. It's just really disheartening. Because i don't feel like we're any closer to that than we were a year ago and that just makes me so sad For our country for all of us for what's happening in relationships because of these topics like it's just sad me scaling the weight of it in such an immense capacity. Why figure. I think probably some of that comes from wake..

"But i also think that there's probably something to do with like your viral load that you're carrying like if you're unvaccinated your viral load of covet is going to be much higher. Which is what causes it to be so contagious. You know my viral load. My the viral of must've been minimized because my body recognize what it was bought it off before it could spread severely through my body So then it makes it a lot harder for me to pass it on. I don't think it's an impossibility absolutely no thankfully. In my case. I did not pass along to anybody so andrew feeling better anybody negative. Excuse me i probably have Just gave it to you through. It's like not even a funny joke anymore. I mean it is flying around. And i think the debate continues because now there's people with events getting it and so people without the vaccine like why would i get the facts and it's like argument has never been that you cannot get it if you're vaccinated. It's that we can't keep this spreading so fucking quickly and so much and keep the world open like it's going to be one or the other so like and i had a conversation yesterday. Where at the told you this. I went to work and the people that i was working for. Don't believe really in cova thinks it's stupid. They don't wear mass or not vaccinated. They're entitled to their opinion. I completely disagree but He walked in and he was like he was like. Yeah because i was wearing my ninety five because now. I'm like really fucking paranoid because i have to go to work like i cannot not go to work anymore and so i don't really want to be a safe again and i'm up in people's faces and so it's like i need to be safe and so i i did it with the mascot. He walked in. He has a. You don't have to wear that. You're fine. And i was like no i'm choosing to and he. He was like oh well. You know i'm gonna die young anyway. So what is it. If i get hit already had cut it. He's like what is it if i get it again. I'm not whatever. I'm going to die. And i'm like that's kind of not the point though like that's cool if that's what you wanna do with your life and you wanna die young are you like. Don't really care if you do fine but when you get that. How many people have you seen that week that you're exposing and what if they're high risk. What if do die. And they're not ready to die young or something like that and to me. It's just like this is still the case of. We can't only think about ourselves. It's more about like thinking of the greater good and the the population as a whole and how we want to be able to live our lives like you wanna be able to live your life. Go to places and go to restaurants. Go to bars and go to concerts. You gotta be safe right now and you got to help other people not just yourself. I mean it's it's so funny because it's like in some ways where arguing the same point just from very different angles like people like rick. Yeah i want my freedom minutes like well. freedom is not a singular thing. Freedom is a group thing like. Yeah can't if you are oppressing other people that's not freedom. They would say that their argument would be well. I don't want to put this in my body. So that's a pressing knee right. Yeah which i. I mean i i can understand that too. At as a nation we have to think about we not me you know and i think that like there is. There is no way that we are going to move forward until the vaccination rates in greece. Like yeah and we have to do a lot of things in life that we don't wanna do for the greater good in it. Drunk driving is obviously like a prime example. I would it be a whole lot easier just to be able to like not pay for a cab or an uber and just drive yourself everywhere. Yeah but if you're fucking wasted chances are you're going to hurt somebody else and so the the right thing to do is to inconvenience yourself a little bit. Spend the money so that you can go make the choices that you wanna make without affecting anybody else. You're right. It is like we want the same outcome. But we're going about it in different ways right a little bit. Yeah i just. I think i'm Drug dealing with that because the conversation seems to so difficult right now and it's honestly i mean this was my sort of update. I was telling you earlier this week in in and of itself has been so heavy for heavy it's really had feels like we're It feels like just unnecessary fighting and this is just that one of the heavy topics. I don't think anybody wants their child after go to school and wear a mask like fucking ideal but we have to get past this and there's there are real ways to get past it and you know it's like let's stop fucking fighting over shit so the kids can move on and get back to school and not have to wear masks. Yeah the masturbate. At school is i mean. That's obviously a lot this week especially at nashville school started a And so there's this huge arguments. There's big name speaking out against it. And i'm really frustrated by that in particular because the rate of cova going up kids is really really growing and also kids getting very sick with it. And i'm like what is it gonna take for us to realize that. This is a huge Transmission place for covert like schools in general. Always like kids are like carrying so many fucking germs. All the time full. Yeah it's like if we're having a closed down a couple of years ago because the flu had gotten so bad like i remember schools shutting down for a couple of weeks here in nashville because they had to slow down the transmission of the flu. And it's like okay right now. You look at numbers. Covert is spreading like wildfire so with schools opening at the same time. Don't we want to do everything we possibly can to keep our kids safe a the to keep them in fuck in school like i personally. Do not think that parents can handle having to go back to work fulltime as like we all are mostly at this point and managing maintaining their kids education even like giving their kids the attention they need during the day like it is so stressful to try to balance all that stuff. And if you don't have the means to get help like a nanny or tutor or anything like that. It's the kids who actually are going to be struggling or paying the price of that. Not a you know most aren't good teachers like it's just won't be a good teacher is a gift and most at one hundred percent. I think people realize that teachers are good teachers. Right sir. ra- mom was a teacher growing up and i literally always said to her. I have so much respect free because that is a job. At noah could not do. I am not patient enough. I don't have the wherewithal to teach event like it's just such a such an intricate skill..

"It's the unvaccinated folks. I love them. She says folks it's the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down ivy added that and this article from the guardian in the uk. It's the criticism of those who are eligible to be vaccinated but have chosen not to get the shot. Hey kellyanne ship. I'd like this to be this friday's floozy. Since i have a story to tell. I've been sitting here. We go carla. I've been dating my boyfriend. Who was in the military and living in the barracks at the time for a year and he'd sneak me into the barracks often in stay overnight as well and never had any issues which is highly off limits. Right i would think so. I mean i've never been in the military so but thank you. Click sounds receipt. Does sound very risky the friday before i flew back home. My boyfriend left for work. And i stayed in the room still sleeping as usual until he got off work in came back however this day his command decided to do a random inspection of their rooms and asked everyone in my boyfriend's shop to back to their building. Wait at the end of the hall and they could not go into their rooms. Oh shit on the way back to his building. My boyfriend was calling me frantically over and over trying to wake up to get out and wait in the car. But i was sound asleep and hurt his message. Five minutes too late to paint a picture. I was in some see-through leggings a baggy shirt. No mega my hair. Was in four braids. For the way you look so. I looked like snoop dogg. And what was just able to get my context. And before they barged in the door and dragged me out of the room we got to the end of the hall or all. My boyfriend's co workers and friends were and they asked whose is this. My boyfriend stepped up and said mine. Ll scolded him and asked him to take me somewhere else. To make matters worse. We had dinner plans after they got off work with his friends where they all made sure to remind me and joke about how i got kicked out and that was how i got banned from the barracks barracks barracks who am the barack obama's. Yeah that's a pretty. Good one carla. That would be so embarrassing about the faces of those like the commander people are the bosses. Who's his this who's s. c. Show that he's an honest man. It were britney's wanting to file a petition to terminate now that judge is about to get some serious. Hey in the free people must be something that exactly what you stole. No that had like whatever you said last week. That kind of solidified that to me that there's something we don't know man well. That is really sad. News for britney a hope that she gets out. I really do want her out you to did you see jimmy lens. Hama what did she say. I didn't watch it. I mean she basically just said. I love brittany. I was staying silent until she spoke. Because i don't wanna put words in her mouth and just like repeated how much she's on her sister's side and blah blah blah okay. It's like they've still made in decent relationship there this so i make sure she basically said like i've only i've i've never needed her for anything other than being sister. Except i mean would jamie lynn spears. Anything if it weren't for brady's like being you what i mean like she would. She had gotten castle. Not if she were bernice your sister does she sounded too but yeah all right who knows what would have happened. Poor britney brittany for your family matters.
