"Massive price of his last four starts. But look, he's been against gun night. He's been against Jack Christopher. He's been in with those three year olds. Those horses would be right up there with the top maybe two betting choices in this race if they were in. You say wide open, it does look wide open. I mean, you can make a case for quite a few horses in here. Who's going to get the lead? Is anybody going to be alone on the lead? Nakatomi is also taking some respect because I've heard some folks talking about the Wesley war training Joel Rosario is going to be aboard. I think that 92 probably right maybe comes down even a little bit lower because that horse is so impressive at Churchill downs last time. You got the local horse in Scott ab moose is going to be towards the outside. Johnny Velasquez, the Hall of Famer is going to pick up the mount for Guadalupe for Seattle. That speaks valium. So yeah, you take a look at 14 horses in the gallon bob entered in a grade two. This is not the same race we saw last year, but a lot of sprinters trying to find their way into this greatest space win. And do a nice job and get it done. Anything Larry, I thought was kind of interesting in there as well. He's kind of a horse that you've seen him in some of these races, especially the chick Lang talking about that star two starts back where he won impressively beating favorite last time. Maybe this is kind of, that was just a comeback race. He came back at Monmouth, ran in the Jersey Shore and now he's going to come back here in a great too. So that's a nice race. It's a tough part of that sequence. You've got to pick four sequence starting in there. You got the Philly big 5 obviously starting to race number 9. So there's a lot of good reasons to take a look at. All right, Chris, we're really happy that you took the time out of your busy schedule to join us today. We will be watching. We will be listening. More importantly, we will be betting on that big card at parks tomorrow. Before we let you go, be remiss if I didn't say congratulations from all of us here at HR RN on your upcoming gig at aqueduct well deserved my friend. I appreciate that, Bobby. Come to you. That means a lot. We haven't crossed paths yet, but we've kind of crossed paths here and there and I appreciate that. I appreciate that very much looking forward to the winter and looking forward to all the business we got tomorrow on Pennsylvania and looking forward to everybody getting involved. So thank you so much. All right, have a great day, my friend, Chris Griffin, the track announcer out at parks. He's got he's got to get his vocal cords warmed up for that big Saturday tomorrow. As he mentioned, ten stakes in all tomorrow on Pennsylvania, Derby day, 5 of them being graded stakes races 8, 9, ten, 11, and 12 with the cotillion and the Pennsylvania Derby going as those 11th and 12th races happy. He was able to join us a little bit this afternoon. All right, let's get some prices out for the 8th race at Gulfstream park where the favorite number two poem got the job done three year old bay Philly by neolithic out of the mass media marico's legacy. She's owned by Bates stable and corporate and trained by Larry Bates, Edgar Perez aboard poem a who paid $3 two 20 and two ten second 7 hour fantasy for 60 to 83rd 6 caico at two 84th was number three by on magic two 7 6 three the order of finish. $2 payoffs exact a 7 60 trifecta 22 80 super effect at $67 and 80 cents. All right, we owe you prices from aqueduct. We will get those to you in just a couple of minutes. But we need to get over to Gulfstream park as they're getting close to post time for the 9th and final race on their card. It's a maiden special weight event. These are Phillies and mayors going 7 furlongs on the main track field of 8, a trainer change listed. You don't see this usually after entries are out. Number one miss McBride not in cam gamble at these barn. Now in Eddie, please a junior's barn. And 14 to one on the board. The favorite is number 8 miles of smiles and simply put miles of smiles, her recent races, if she runs one of those races, somebody else is going to have to run better than they ever have to beat her. She's three to two on the board. She's drawn well on the outside. Sammy camacho junior picking up the mount for trainer Joe orsino camacho was actually been aboard this daughter of prospective once before it was going 6 and a half furlongs, three starts ago. She ended up running third that day in a race that probably is good enough to beat this field. The problem that you have if you like miles of smiles is she starting to look like one of those maidens that always runs pretty good, never good enough to get the big share. Zero for 7 coming into this race, two seconds, three third place finishes. If you were a show parlay type of a person and I am not, this would be one that you would be all over because she just looks like she's better than them. And you'd be hard pressed thinking that she's not going to at least hit the board. Whether you want to take a shortish price on miles of smiles to get the maiden win today, that is another question, but it certainly looks like this is the best chance she's had in a while blinkers going on. We'll see if she's a little bit more forwardly placed this afternoon. Last few runners going in, number four Sylvia V's heroes toward the center of the gate, moving up and miles of smiles will complete the line. She moves up toward the outside gate. Pete I yellow with the rest of the load and the call race 9 at Gulfstream park. Kirby watch party here in South Florida as well. Enjoy great racing action from Ben Salem, Pennsylvania, parks racing, simulcast here at golf street. In line for race 9.

"Bringing you live action from around the country will have racing from both aqueduct and Gulfstream park. In fact, let's get out to Gulfstream park now. They're going into the gate right now for the 8th race on the card optional claiming allowance event for Florida bread Philly's the mayor's poem is the big favorite and Pete I yellow has the call. And they're off. A quick and clean beginning for Po Emma from down toward the inside and she's going to establish control early from the center let's be honest is the gray and on her outside it's our fantasy. White on the chorus and rain, not wider than cake or who's taken in hand moving up on her inside and beyond magic. The trailer is the late running more glory as now there are three in line as they exit the shoot. Let's be honest from between poem a dad at the rail and out wide on the course in our fantasy. These three carved a quarter in a very reasonable 24 and two. They've opened two and a half on rain who sits in fourth, followed 5th by beyond magic next at the rail and Keiko and far back to more glory. They make their way four and a half furlongs from the finish and now Perez lets out a notch on poi Emma. She stretches to a length and a half lead. Let's be honest is there second. They put on some speed mid race as let's be honest, finds herself third, but about 5 lengths behind. Down at the rail goes rain, too better than beyond magic, then Keiko, and more glory is last. Poem is going to try to win it right now as she went 46 and four for the half mile and she strides through a three length lead. Our fantasy morelo is trying to stay in range of the leader while 5 ahead of rain. Let's be honest it's called it an afternoon underway from the back is Keiko wide on the course and beyond magic. Three quarters, one ten and four. Poem a off the turn now 5 lengths to the good. Our fantasy not making any ground from third it's Keiko from fourth and beyond magic with an 8th of a mile remaining poem is still finding plenty. Our fantasy has tried hard and we'll try to cling to the place when she looks like she will, but at odds on Po Emma with an ease victory. She won by 5. Our fantasy second Keiko third, fourth beyond magic, then more glory for the high 5. One 36 and three. Unofficially two 7th 6 three. That's two 7 6 three in the 8th race at Gulfstream park poem. Heavily favored at one to two takes the lead as she normally does right off the bat and goes wire to wire this afternoon for the team of Edgar Perez and trainer Larry Bates will get to those prices once they go official poem a coming off a nice second place finish it as the 6th of or rather even money favorite at this level last time out stretching back out to the one turn mile today last time out she ran a mile was clearly the best race of her career. It certainly proves that she has no problem with that extra distance stretching out and getting the job done this afternoon. Hopefully that won't be what's coming today. Okay, results have gone official at Gulfstream park. We will get you those prices in a few minutes, but we want to get over to aqueduct for the first of our live races from there this afternoon. By the way, at Gulfstream park, 90°, partly cloudy, humid, summer afternoon, or I should say early fall afternoon. Now, in South Florida. At aqueduct completely opposite, 64° in sunny, very windy today, wins in excess of 20 miles an hour in Jamaica queens, main track fast and the turf course firm, and this upcoming 5th race begins the 50 cent late pick 5. What we have here are made in Phillies and mayors going the one turn mile on the main track at aqueduct, scratch number 8 pout would have been one of the longer shots in the field. We have a field of 8 going to post. Interesting field here. Number three tizzy in the sky has been second in both of her career starts. Her debut was for trainer ray handel. She moved over to the Jose barn for her second start, which was up at Saratoga, and she was beaten as the four to 5 favorite that day after really not getting out of the gate very well at all. Now stretching out to a mile. She's by sky kingdom out of a tis now mayor. It sounds like she should be better longer than short and Joel Rosario, who has been aboard for both of her career starts retains them out on this Jose trainee she's your 8 to 5 favorite.

"Yards the distance and optional claiming allowance event, for three year olds and up that are non winners of one other than or they're in for a claiming tag of $25,000. We've got a field of 8 going to post slight favorite at odds of 5 to two right now as number 7 Parkland. I thought both number four Laker mamba and number 5 Venezuelan triumph, 9 to two and 5 to two respectively were at least as good, if not better than the favorite Parkland. So a little bit of a wide open affair here as they arrive at the starting gate for this mile and 70 yard test. Once again, typical hot humid day in South Florida. This is what amazes me. These horses run in these conditions. All summer long in South Florida, but when they get a day like this at somewhere that isn't used to this, maybe up down the east coast, unfortunately they end up canceling a lot when the heat index is a hundred, a 105. It seems like it's like that every day during the summertime in South Florida. Last few runners going in will hand it off to Pete I yellow for the rest of the load and the call. Here's race 8 in hallandale beach at Gulfstream park. They're at the post all set for the 8th. And they're off. Ridden for the early advantage is Parkland but down at the rail cashier check has speed. Venezuelan triumph is a way smoothly between them. At the rail yamato comes away racing in fourth ahead of chrome republic 5th. The three at the back, he's a kitten, Laker mamba, and sig run fast boy. Make their way around the first turn, and Edgar Perez, and cashier check have kicked on. They lead by a length and a half over their barn buddy Venezuelan triumph who's there second. Yamato is on hold while at the rail in third. After being sent for position Parkland finds himself in the two path forth, that it's the team of he's a kitten and chrome republic is Laker mamba angles three wide and two lengths to the trailer, sig run, fast boy. Not much face on here, the corner posted in 25 and one less than 5 furlongs from home. It's the Barboza pair on the front. Cashier check from Venezuelan triumph who's a bit closer second. Parkland has to go now as Laker mamba was launched four wide. Yamato stayed parked at the rail. Then back to chrome republic ahead of he's a kitten in sig run fast boy his last. Around the far turn they go, the pace picks up, cashier check holds inside position and the lead, Venezuelan triumph second Parkland, three wide now, third, four wide, like her mambo looking for her way out as yamato panichi. He's got his hands full, but he needs some place to go. Two back to chrome republic, then he's a kitten in the rap the top of the stretch. Three quarters, one 13 and one. Venezuelan triumph turns first with the lead. Yamato still searches for racetrack cashier check battling hard to have your models loose at the fence. Finally 8th of a mile, yamato gets through at the rail quickens up and takes the lead. He's 7 to two and he's a winner. Nice tripping the end from Luca panichi, yamato is in for a cashier check second Venezuelan triumph third, Laker mamba's fourth and Portland. Good ride from Luca panichi a board number two yamato rail skimming trip rail opened up in the stretch. Yamato said thank you very much came right on through got the job done better's got the job done here as well. 5 to one on the morning line for yamato bent down to 7 to two third choice at post time and yamato getting the job done. He has never been off the board in 7 career tries now on the synthetic track at Gulfstream park three wins two seconds, two thirds to his credit and to be perfectly honest, some of his recent races, although not winning races, have been against better competition than what he saw today. He's had the misfortune of running behind a horse named lamplighter Jack in his last four starts and running second or third behind lamplighter Jack in those races. Lamplighter Jack not in this race today and yamato is certainly thankful for that and he comes right on through to get the win unofficially two one 5 four the order of finish in race 8 at Gulfstream park. We'll get you those results once they go official, speaking of results, they are official over at horseshoe Indianapolis, top four, 5, one, 8, two, in the 5th race, and it was the favorite. Number 5 Caribbean night who had the last run and the best run down the stretch. Three year old dark bay or brown Philly by cross traffic out of the mister Greeley mayor lady midnight owned by Patton's creek farm and trained by Tom drury junior, Edgar Morales aboard Caribbean knight who returned 6 43 60 and $3. Second, the one minglewood, 8 20 and $5, third 8 re anti at 360, fourth was number two, connect the causeway. The exact these are $2 payoffs, the exact paid 68 40. The trifecta paid three 37 80 and the super factor pretty good with the favorite winning, 1151 20, those the results for race 5 at horseshoe indie were about 16 minutes away from post time for their 6th race. All right, we're going to take a break. When we come back, we owe you prices at Gulfstream park. We'll have more live racing from both horseshoe Indy and Gulfstream,

"Good once they get around two turns, or even when they just go a little bit further. I think he's going to be a two turn horse. I know that, you know, they run, they run those one turn mile races a little bit later in the year in New York for the two year olds, including the champagne, which will be at the new Belmont at the big a meet. This year, but donegal surges being by candy ride out of a bernardini mayor, I'd like my chances on this horse being okay, around two turns. He kind of seems like he's just out of pure talent showing you that he can run okay sprinting. But he really wants to go a little bit a little bit longer. Be fun to watch him when he stretches out around two turns. All right, we're going to get one more live race in before we go to break horses are on the track for the fourth race at Gulfstream park. And they're on the main track for this race. It's ray starts the 20 cent Rainbow Six. Today at Gulfstream, made in two year old Phillies going 6 furlongs scratch numbers one and 6. We've got a field of 8 here. And here's something you don't see very often. There are four of them at three to one on the board. You heard correctly. There are four of them at three to one. Christina's candy, a safi Joseph Jane trainee, whose inherited the rail with Edgar ziya's aboard, stuck in Malibu, second time starter for Patrick B and Cohn, who did not have a good start at all out of the gate in her debut and close to finished fourth, it was a better than looked effort for her. A couple other first time starters. Number 7 looking for hope. The other safi Joseph junior trainee, if you will. This one has flashier works than the one down on the inside, Sunny Leone, who is going to ride today at Gulfstream park and then catch a flight early tomorrow morning up to Albany and shuttle up to Saratoga to try to ride Kentucky Derby winner rich strike in the traverse stakes. He rides looking for hope here. The other one who's three to one is a Joe cat knee trainee collectively. Let me tell you something about Joe Kat and ease. This is a guy who does not get very good horses. He's been around for a long time, he trains year round in South Florida. He's another one that does not win a whole lot of races during the championship meet and he wins more significantly higher percentage of races during this, whatever the meat is they call now. The summer meet the non championship meat, I don't know. The Calder meat. I don't know what they call it. Now at Gulfstream. The fact that number 8 collectively is actually 5 to two right now and tick down to favoritism from an 8 to one morning line for a trainer that only wins 9 or 10% of the time tells you this horse probably can run a little bit. Probably can run a little bit. And Joe cates is a trainer that knows what he's doing. He just simply doesn't have, you know, he's, he does not have clients that are going out there and spending 6 and 7 figures on horses form. He doesn't. This one is a rare one in that this one as a yearling cost a $150,000. So that's something you don't normally see for Joe catanese. California racing partners in cha glia. Spent more money than most of his owners spend on horse and by the way, this is an Ontario bred Philly by collected out of an Indian Charlie mayor. She shows solid, if not spectacular, four furlong works for her debut. In fact, her last 6 works have all been for furlongs at Gulfstream park. Most of them from the pole, a few of them from the gate. There's a 47 in change, 48 in there, 48s and change, even a bullet work in there. Collectively, probably can run. Now, works wise, if you're somebody that believes what you see in past performances from workouts, number 7 looking for hope looks like the one to beat. One of two in here for saffy Joseph junior, and this one has flashy workouts, including a couple a half miles from the gate in 46 and two, one of them being a bullet of fastest of 72 on the morning of July 23rd. A couple of 5 furlong works that are pretty nice, a minute, three fifths, one O one and two. Kind of looks like if looking for hope runs to her works, she's a logical one in this spot. I don't know if this is reading too much into the tea leaves here. So Sunny Leone rides this one for safi Joseph, Edgar ziya rides number two Christina's candy for safi Joseph. Christina's candy does not have flashy works coming in. But Edgar ziya has ridden 75 horses for safi Joseph in the last two months. Let me repeat that. Edgard zayas has ridden 75 horses for saffy Joseph in the last two months. Do you know how many horses Sunny Leone has ridden for saffy Joseph in the last two months? One. And that one didn't hit the board. So the one with the faster works goes with the rider who never rides for this trainer. The one with the slower works listed goes with the for the jockey that is always one of the top jockeys during this part of the year. And rides seemingly every horse for savvy Joseph. Very confusing. And by the way, no. Two Christina's candy is just ticked down to the slight favorite at 5 to two. So we've got a 5 to two 5 to two shots to 7 to two shots right now on the board as they meander around the starting gate for this fourth race at Gulfstream park. I would probably have to spread in this race. I would use both of the saffy Joseph. I would use all of them that are being bet because there's reasons to like all of those first time starters, Christina's candy, looking for hope and collectively. But the truth is, number four stuck in Malibu actually ran a pretty good race in her debut and she just had no chance after the gate opened the comment says slam gate. And then ended up running 5 wide. Doesn't sound like exactly the trip you're hoping for if you're betting a horse. Slam gate 5 wide. Okay. Let's hope we can fix one or both of those is what the betters are hoping for. If you're backing number four stuck in Malibu, who, by the way, is 7 to two right now on the board. The only other one that is less than double digits is another first time starter number 5 Loretta Joe for Ralph nix and Edwin Gonzalez. And by the way, Ralph nicks does as well, if not better than anyone else in here with their first time starters. He wins at a higher percentage with first time starters than safi Joseph does. And folks who don't follow South Florida racing on a year round basis probably would never know that. But that's the truth, Loretta Joe, Ralph Nick, 16% with his first ears, safi Joseph, who runs significantly more first time starters clicking at a 14% clip so both trainers very, very capable at getting horses fit and ready to go in their debuts. We can't tell you the results of the 7th race, the funny side at Saratoga have been posted official we'll get you those prices in a few minutes, but these made in two year old Phillies have finally arrived at the starting gate with just a four minute drag on post time for this fourth race at Gulfstream park. Once again, $50,000 to perse or 6 furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream park, hot, sticky, typical summer afternoon, down in hallandale beach, Florida. By the way, it's Hal and L beach, Florida, but the racetrack is not on the beach. It's not like delmar, where you can see the beach from the track. You're probably about a mile away from the beach. So I'm not sure you're getting quite those soothing winds coming off the water at Gulfstream that you might get over at del mar. Two year olds are loading in quickly for this fourth race at Gulfstream. I don't want to curse it because they're loading in quicker than you normally would see with a field with all of these first time starters. Here is stuck in Malibu, hoping to have a better start and a cleaner trip this afternoon. Loretta Joe, the Ralph Nick's first time starter, daughter of arrogate, speaking of the Travers, going into the starting gate. Last one will be conceptus with Edgar Perez aboard and Pete aiello has the call at Gulfstream.

"Turn it on was away quickly. Tommy inside of her and his adorable item moving toward the rail. It's queen calypso and up on the outside here speed from drinks on me. They scrimmage for early supremacy from the outside its nurse Judy veils between horses, American tap along the rail, the race favorite alley Z part three wide while second last and the trailer is pretty princess. Around the forest turn with three furlongs remaining, turn it on, leads by an act, drinks on me, latched on to her and creeping closer second nurse, Judy, three wide and on the go third after rail it's queen calypso, moving on her outside. That's American tap with Vail, trying to wind it up is Alex. The race favorite is way out the center as they have to get drinks on me. Less than a quarter of a mile to come, drinks on me has to kick by Perez and kicking nicely from the inside it's turn it on, down the center, I'll be Z from between American tap. 16th to go drinks on me almost home. Ali Z gaming, but time running out. Drinks on me. Bottoms up. Second is Ali Z third is American tap forth is turn it on, then nurse Judy in 57 and three. Unofficial 6 7 one 5, the top four and the fourth at Gulfstream park as drinks on me. Fresh off the claim by Jennifer young gets the job done Edgar Perez aboard the starter of state thirsty who got her fourth consecutive win all of them at this $10,000 level in all on the synthetic track at Gulfstream park. So she is happy with this synthetic track and she obviously likes this $10,000 level. She's been hot a hot commodity at the claim box as well claimed in 5 of her last ten starts are out of 5 of her last ten starts. I wonder if she will get claimed once again. This afternoon drinks on me recording her fourth straight win and her 14th overall win from 51 starts. All right, we're going to take a break. When we come back, we'll get you the prices for the 7th that Saratoga, hopefully we'll have the prices for the fourth at Gulfstream and we'll look ahead to some more great racing. If you have a gambling problem, call or text 805 two two 4700, Caesar's race book, get bonuses right out of the gate. We've got a great show for you this afternoon. First of all, becoming live action from up at Saratoga also some races down at Gulfstream park today are going to have a couple of great guests as well. Jim charvet from the del mar thoroughbred club going to join us in the next ten or 15 minutes talk about tomorrow's grade one delmar oaks and maybe look ahead toward the premiere event at delmar, which is now just two weeks away, the Pacific classic. And of course, all eyes on flight line as he makes a rare appearance in the Pacific classic out at del mar in a couple weeks. Also going to be joined in the second hour by Monmouth parks, television host, or television, analyst, and morning line maker Brad Thomas. I'm sure you've seen Brad Thomas on TV over the years. He's very easy to spot. He wears those big cataract glasses and he's a very intricate, smart guy. And he probably knows more about handicapping the races in New Jersey than anyone I've ever met. He's done it for so many years. He's been at Monmouth. I think for about 30 years now, but working in the industry in New Jersey. I think since the early 80s and he's just a phenomenal handicapper and want to get his thoughts on Monmouth's featured event tomorrow, the islin, which of course has a great history in its own right. As I mentioned, we've got live racing from both Saratoga and Gulf Stream coming up. We're also going to look ahead a little bit towards some of the great weekend action at both Saratoga and woodbine as well. Okay, our first live race is going to come from Gulfstream park. 90° in halland, L beach, Florida today. Isolated thunderstorms. It's nice whether now, but there could be a storm on and off for the next hour or two. Main track is fast and they're on the main track for the third race horses at the gate now made an optional claiming event. These are made in three year olds and up. If you're in for, if they're Florida breads, they can run without the tag if they're not Florida breads, they're in for the $40,000 tag scratch number one cash it field of 6 going to post a couple of 9 to 5 shots number two cross haste and the 7th little big. I thought number 5 royal attitude a first time starter for Dave Fox was interesting some solid looking for furlong and 5 furlong drills for Dave Fox who only clicks at about an 8% rate with his first time starters. He was better than that earlier in his career, probably closer to 12, 14%, but he's been running more first years lately and winning less often. Let's head down to Pete ilo for the rest of the load and the call. Here's race three at Gulfstream. They're at the post. They're offering. And why little big gets the first call. Here's the newcomer's song runner moving to take second up to the outside royal attitudes in early third back to fourth my big dream, then brave and true and cross haste finds himself at the back of the group as they race to the half mile point. Edgar Perez has a snug hold of little big and he's front and center with a length and a half lead working second is royal attitude down at the rail cross face and proves to take third. In tight between his song runner up to the outside brave and true and not keeping up is my big drama. Then leave the back stretch and move on to the four turn. Three and a half furlongs from home. Now it's Perez's time to get busy on little big as his lead is only an act where a latitude creeping closer second cross ace is now third up to the outside brave and true is their fourth back to 5th and songwriter and out the back is my big drama. They run to the top of the stretch with little big still turning away all challenges. He's a quarter of a mile from home and in front. Manassas is working into the clear on cross haste on the three wide side royal attitude four wide brave and true and they're at the top of the stretch. Little big still in front cross Hayes takes his shot. Now cross Hayes starts to bridge the gap and at the 8th pole cross haste just took the lead and he's moving clear. Little big's gonna try to hold on to second as royal latitude makes another effort, but they come to the finish and it's cross haste to what is going away by three in the end. Second little big third was royal attitude. It got close for fourth as my big drama came from last and might have got up and one 18 and one. One 18.30 to be exact to final time for the 6 and a half furlongs on the fast main track at Gulfstream park. Betting public had it right, they thought that the two favorites cross haste and little big were the ones that I should say deserving of being favored. They end up running one, two in the race. It's the actual second choice. Number two cross haste, getting the job done this afternoon came off a good second place finish at the same level of competition going 6 furlongs last time at he was 64 to one that afternoon was only beaten a little over two lengths that day, no such luck price wise today goes off as the two to one second choice. Favorite number 7 little big at 7 to 5 at post time ends up holding on for a second. First time starter royal attitude ran a good race, but just third best in his debut and finishes third. Two 7 5 for the unofficial top three or rather top four in the third race at Gulfstream park. We can tell you that we are going to be able to cover three races today from Saratoga as well and they just went official for race number 6. So they're running just a tad behind our first race will be the 7th race on the card.

"They couldn't get there fast if they wanted to. So the horses are coming onto the track now with allegedly three minutes to post for this 5th race at Gulfstream. By the way, this is also the start of the late pick 5. It Gulfstream, which means they'll usually hold the race a minute or two like a lot of other tracks do these days. This 5th race at Gulfstream though is another two year old maiden event. However, this one is for two yards that are in for a claiming price of $50,000 and they're going to go 6 furlongs on the main track scratch numbers. One, two and 5 leaves us with a field of 8 going to post. The two that are getting the most play right now are number 6 grand slash and number ten, no name dude. Different type of runners here. Ground slash is already had one race under his belt. He ran against maiden special way competition going 5 for a long stream. He was not expected to do much that day, 21 to one at the off odd, ended up running a good third was basically third all the way around the racetrack. And beaten about 5 and a half lengths in the final time was pretty quick. 58 and two, that afternoon. So grand slash Iran against a tough competition ran a decent race, drops in for a tag for the first time and trainer Victor Barbosa who's always a high percentage trainer at Gulfstream park does very well in these maiden to maiden claiming types. I think recently he's right around 25, 27% with this kind of move. So obviously grand slash is somebody who's very dangerous and Edgar Perez who's having a nice summer season at Gulfstream winning at about an 18% clip is a board. The other one getting play is a first time starter. Number ten, no name dude was 7 to two on the morning line. He's actually vying for favoritism right now at 9 to 5 on the board. This one a first or by the big beast out of a song and a prayer mayor, so it certainly sounds like sprint breeding, both top and bottom for this Jose D'angelo trainee. D'angelo overall winning at about a 25% clip. This year, not quite as good with first time servers. And I will say this, only about 10% of the horses he sent out, our first time starters, and he's winning at a 16% rate with the first year. So you can look at that either way in the fact that maybe this is not his best game winning with firsters, but the glass half full way of looking at it is 16% is not bad. He's obviously very capable of getting horses ready to fire first time out just because he doesn't win at the rate that maybe Wesley ward or Bob Baffert or Chad Brown or Todd pletcher do. 16% is still very, very good. Sunny Leone who of course rocketed to fame a few months ago with winning The Kentucky Derby a more rich strike. He has moved his tact to South Florida. He's finding the waters a little bit deeper there and then what he was used to seeing in and around Ohio and maybe West Virginia winning just at a 10% rate thus far in South Florida, but he's a board no name dude who shows fast workouts, including two bullet works in his last three, shown on the page on July 23rd, by the way, four furlongs, 46 and two from the gate, fastest of 72 at the distance that morning. Now I'm going to tell you this. For those of you who don't know, not everything you see when you look at workouts is the absolute truth. And I'm not saying that in the fact that this course shows 46 and two and maybe he worked 49 and two. I'm not saying it that way. I'm saying this horse, you know, there could be horses who show works, let's say a half mile and 48 and change. But they really worked 6 furlongs. The trainer called in and said, I've got so and so he's working a half a mile. Okay, so the clockers get them. Going a half a mile. And he went 48 48 and three, let's say. But then he might have gone a minute and four fifths for the 5 eighths and one 13 flat for 6 furlongs. Wouldn't you be interested in a horse that shows a one 13 6 furlong word first time out? Maybe a little more than one who shows a 48 and three half mile. Like I said, nothing untoward there, the horse worked what he worked. But it's just because you see it, it's not it doesn't necessarily mean take it, don't take it just at face value. Meanwhile, 46 and two from the gate, that's pretty fast. That's probably why no name dude is getting some recognition. They've arrived at the starting gate for this two year old event. Once again, maidens in for a $50,000 tag race 5 at Gulfstream park, start of their late pick 5, 6 furlongs on the main track, a field of 8 going to post. A few of them walking a little bit at the gate as with a lot of the two year old races around the country this time of year, several first time starters in this race. Salute the troops a first or for trainer Eddie, please a junior, always seems to have a few good ones in the barn going in. Here's Pete I yellow with the call. They're at the post.

"I'll tell you what, though, when you're looking up records for deputed testimony and you keep putting in deputed TES T IMO and Y and it's coming up nothing and you realize, all right, I know I'm typing this incorrectly and then you realize, wait a minute, I'm not typing this incorrectly. It's not spelled like it's supposed to be spelled, and I love the fact that that's how the horse got named. He was inducted into the Maryland racing Hall of Fame in 2017. Billy, I know you've been a big part of Maryland racing in an advocate for many, many years. How important was it to the state of Maryland when a Maryland bred and based runner like deputed testimony wins the Preakness? Well, you know, everybody wants to talk about Kentucky Bobby, but Marilyn ran the first thoroughbred race in 1781. And Maryland was running third bed races when Kentucky was an open Prairie. That's a lot of both stuff, you know? They raised a very good horse here in Maryland. There's a lot of good horsemen here in Maryland. And I know Maryland breads have won the race that many times, but. It's just a matter of to get one shot in the horse's life. And it hasn't come up. But it's a big thing to me winning the greatness was like by living in Kentucky, but in Derby. And it was a great owner. There was a partner on the horse and it was just a day of the lifetime. What can I say? Pleased to be joined by former trainer Billy boniface Billy. I know you've been for the most part out of serious training for the last couple of decades you've had a starter here and there. I think your last recorded one was back in 2013. What takes up your day now and do you ever pay attention to the races or head out to the track? Oh, I definitely do, of course, with the television now, it's much easier to watch here. We've got a 350 acre farm which stands Tuesday. And we've got a training center. And my second son, Kevin, is running the training division now. I turned it over to him 12 years ago. And I oversee the operation, which is multi complexes. We do turnouts. We do here on breaking and we do it all from conception to retirement. And it takes a lot of time. A lot of people don't realize that your father, Bill boniface, was involved in racing as well, but he was a racing editor for the Baltimore sun for a while. Did he give you any advice or maybe a rye look when you told him that you wanted to be a trainer? Well, at first I was a Jackie and he gave me a wire look and I was 5 foot 11 and trying to ride a 107 pounds, which I did for a couple of years. But he. Gave me my introduction to the game and he knew my big pursuit was to be a jockey and unfortunately I wasn't really built that well for it. But when I couldn't make the weight anymore, I went in the Marine Corps for four years when I came out. I started back training. And it's been in my family. He started there as a copy boy. He was there 40 years. We might not be in race again. But he always had a horse or two on the side. I rode my first winner on one 8th his horses. And so it's sort of a family extension. Well, Billy, we really appreciate you taking the time, of course, deputed testimony. Huge name in the lore of thoroughbred racing and especially for those who hold Maryland racing so dear to their hearts, race named in his honor tomorrow at Laurel looking forward to that great race and hope to have you again down in the future is every year we remember deputed testimonies run can't believe it's been 39 years since that race, my friend. This is Bobby, you asked me to handicap the race to Mars. Oh, I'm ready. If you got somebody you like in the deputed testimony tomorrow, I'm all ears, my friend, because that looks like a tough race to handicap. It is a tough race to handicap. I narrowed it down to three horses, the one 5 and 7. I wound up on the one because he beat the 7 last time and you get the two pounds late shift on his favor. And it's a fast run into that turn as Laura will go to my own. And I think if he gets away good, it should be a good trip for him. The only home card is the fibers, which I don't understand why they ran him for a tag after the co special was crazy probably shouldn't have been in at any rate, but he beat a very good horse and we had had Coke or when he won his last race going on my own native Laurel, but they'd got even for tag and this is the first time back with the new trainer and he blew it out off the chart in 47 change. He's the whole car. I hate you when handicappers give you three horses. I'm going to give you the ones. All right, so Billy boniface going with number one riding with Biden in the deputed testimony race 9 tomorrow Laurel thinks it's between riding with Biden number 5 treasure trove and number 7 magic Michael, but riding with Biden using the inside post to his advantage Frankie Pennington back aboard the son of constitution is Billy boniface's pick in the deputed testimony. Billy, thank you so much for joining us this afternoon really love talking with you about to Peter testimony and everything that went into that 1983 victory in the Preakness stakes, have a great afternoon, my friend, and I hope to speak down the line. Thank you, Bobby. All right, former trainer Billy boniface, what a character raised and trained 1983 Preakness winner deputed testimony, the last of the 8 Maryland breads to have won the pretender stakes wonder when that streak will be broken. Let's quickly head over to Gulfstream park, catch another live race. This is a maiden two year old event maiden special weight for the two year olds going 5 and a half furlongs on the main track scratch number four, scratch numbers four and 12 big field of ten here. You don't see a lot of ten horse fields in maiden two year old events around the country sprinting yet. We have a big favor to number 6 defended for Victor Barboza and Edgar Perez coming off a nice second place finish last time out where she was about 5 lengths clear of the third place finisher that day, final time for the 5 furlongs that afternoon was 58 and two and defended was only two and a half lengths behind the winner at the end of that race. So unless one of these first time starters pops up with a big effort defended, certainly looks like she's going to be tough to beat in the spot. I would guess that the first time started their betting number 11 blind spot would be the biggest question mark in the field. She cost a $125,000 at a two year old in training sale in April at OBS, safi Joseph junior, who does just fine with first time starters. Saddling this daughter of cross traffic who probably bred to run a lot longer than this shows a good series of three and four furlong works for her debut, including her last 6 works, have all been at four furlongs and I like the outside post. Last few runners going in and we'll send it out to Pete I yellow for the load and the call.

And then she single handedly set out to create a whole new repertoire for flute with a project she calls density 2036. You know, the plan is To commission and play and record new works for flute every year for over 20 years until we reach 2036, which is the 1/100 anniversary off Edgar Flores is groundbreaking solo flute piece called Density 21.5. And for is called it that because he wrote it for a flute player who played on a platinum instrument and the density of platinum is 21.5 so All of which is to say Claire Chase began her density 2036 project in honor of that Edgar Perez piece, and she started in 2014, and there have been a lot of work's already recorded. And that's where both this piece and the do young work that will here towards the end of the show. It's where they both come from. Okay, so let's start with Marcos falter.
